A few notes beforehand

Very ambiguous timeline, like I have no clue where this would fit

They both know each other's superhero identities

Monarch had to be the worst human being to exist. Akumatizations started out slowly, but now at the point where there are either two a day or one really strong one was ridiculous. Luckily, there was now a(nother) team of superheros to stop him. Marc hadn't been Rooster Bold for long, but it was thrilling to be able to step out of his shell and be someone who was outgoing. He would never be able to do that as himself. Since becoming a superhero, Marc was a bit more talkative, but only three people noticed - Marinette, Alix, and Nathaniel (who kept an eye on Marc for his boyfriend's safety).

To an outsider, nothing would look different in Marc and Nathaniel's relationship, but Marc knew Nathaniel was slowly distancing himself. However, he couldn't figure out why it started a few days ago, yet nothing out of the ordinary happened...other than Marc having been saved by Caprikid because the Akuma had something against rainbows and well- Marc wore tye-die shirts to school most days.

Today was the day, Marc had made up his mind. He was going to confront Nathaniel. When he saw the red-head walk into the locker room, he took his chance. "Nath-"

Nathaniel jumped and looked over at him. "Hey Marc. Do you need something?" He smiled at the noirette so sweetly it made Marc's stomach do flips.

"Yeah, why have you been distancing lately? Is it because of what happened a few days ago?" He couldn't help but grip the hem of his red hoodie.

Nathaniel froze up and sighed. "It's getting so complicated being a superhero. It's stressful and I'm scared that if Monarch finds out, you'll be put in more danger. And I know you'll be able to figure something out, it's just-" Marc put a finger to Nathaniel's lips and kissed his cheek.

"I don't care how complicated it gets, I still want to be with you. We'll figure something out, together. So, please stop distancing from me?" Marc pulled out the puppy dog eyes and Nathaniel couldn't help but give in.

"You better keep this same sentiment if I ever end up in trouble."

"Ahaha, I make no promises. Oh yeah! Do you want to see what I have for the newest edition?"
