back from the dead! way back in april i said i would do a best lwl song tournament which in my defence i did fully intend on running but then a lot of stuff started happening at once and i forgot about it. but now we're back!

in the tags of the original poll posted to gauge interest, there were a couple of requests for (versions of) songs not on the album, and that can get a little difficult to track so for this reason i will be running it based on submissions. the form can be found here!

if you are submitting non-album versions of a song, i would really appreciate if you could include the episode/part number :)

submissions will close when there are enough for a decently sized tournament, and the tournament will start about a week later.

My Love For You

My love for you is getting painful but yet I still love you because my heart doesn't want to let you go. My love goes deep, as deep as the ocean can get. Not a lot of people can say they get that kind of love from me, I am careful with whom I share my love with, my love got used und misused so many times that now I only give it out to so many people I can bare and that is mostly only one person, and you are that person.

I respect you to the fullest but it hurts to see you without being able to hug or even kiss you again, I might have been only one kiss but since that kiss you have turned my world upside down. I hate when people touch me but I feel safe with you, I don't show emotions like fear, sadness or vounrablety infront of people but with you I feel free to show my emotions because I finally stop overreacting about everything when I am with you, I don't think about people a lot but somehow I can't stop thinking about you.

Summary: Portia hires a new chamber maid. Your duty is to tend her chambers when she is or is not in there. However, you job gets difficult as you pursue to talk to the lady late at night. Of course, she couldn't cause such a distraction as you work, right?

Today seemed as if we're to rain. The clouds were darkening faster then anticipated. This was your third week working for the Featheringtons.

Mrs. Varley took you under her wing since she did know your parents when you were young. Seemingly some of the maids were rather displeased with your arrival to the estate. "Y/n? What are you doing out here?" Varley asked surprised to see you out of the house. "Well I had just come to pick out some cherries and some more flour for Ms. Lucy. She needed some more flour and I asked her to make a cherry pie." You smiled at the older woman.

"Oh? Well you could've just asked me." Varley tilted her head. "But you have things to do this evening. I don't want to burden you with my own stuff, Var." You covered your basket with a light blue cloth as you seen Lady Featherington approach the pair of you.

"Ms. Y/n? What a pleasant surprise?" Portia gave you a tight lipped smile. Her lips were almost the same color as the cherries you had in your basket. Her hair still the fiery red you've seen this morning.

"Good evening, my lady." You bowed slightly. You and the Lady had a somewhat difficult relationship. You would tend her quarters cleaning here and there but there wasn't much to tend to. Which made the job easier. Portia was never really a morning person, you often wake up the lady of the house toward the afternoon. She would usually wake up with a mood you have already gotten used too. At night the both of you would bicker to one another usually leading off topic.

Your job was so simple all you had to do was clean, wake up the lady, tend her needs at night. Certainly not the needs that a woman would need a man for. But to help her undress, take the pins out of her hair, and dress every morning.

Every morning would always seem to do the job and keep you happy to know that you were able to gaze upon a body of a goddess.

"If I may, my lady. I must be going." You smiled at Lady Featherington. She just looked at you as she continued to walk around the market. You smiled at Varley as you walked back toward the carriage you took. It was quite a walk if you were to head back to the Featherington's estate usually it would be a great benefit for yourself meeting different people on the way back to what some servants called home.

Staying at the Featherington estate was apart of the job, staying there to tend the house and the lady's chambers. Usually you wouldn't have a problem but recently you've heard some of the maids talking about how Portia was going to start releasing some maids since Penelope, Prudence, and Phillipa were not home as often.

With a sigh, you looked at the basket you were holding in your lap as rode back home in the carriage. The cherries were fresh and it didn't help as your mind went back to Portia's lips. The same shade as the outside of the cherry. What would your parents think about you now? The way Portia would tilt her head, imagining the way she would tilt it for you as you slowly nip and kiss down the column of her neck.

"Ma'am?" One of the footman cleared their throat pulling you out of your small daydream. "Oh, Thank you John." You smiled as he helped you out of the carriage. The servant entry was kind of nerving since it was almost a dark alley.

Though you had gotten used to it overtime and some reassurance that there was nothing wrong about it from some of the maids and footmen.

It's been at least two and a half hours since you have came back from the market. In at least an hour the lady of the house would come back in due time. You wondered down to the kitchen in hopes that the cherry pie was finished. You gently pushed open the door and smiled as Ms. Lucy already had a plate out for you.

"Thank you, Lucy." You grinned. You hoped to surprise Portia when she comes home from the market. You remembered the first time when you came upstairs to a drunk and aching Portia. She whimpered when she sat down onto the bed and groaned when you tended to her calves. You massaged her legs and hiked up her dress to pursue more of the massage. You listened as Portia would moan quietly as you continued to move up her legs toward her thighs. Slowly you would move toward her aching core but to be stopped with her looking at you shaking her head. "We shouldn't do this." She whimpered.

That was one of the times you felt like a moth drawn to a flame. You were quick to snap out of the memory as you heard something fall upstairs. Quickly you grabbed the plate and started upstairs to Portia's chambers. You opened the door to see Portia standing there sighing. You were quick to help the lady undress. She sighed as you unloosened her corset which was always tight. You could see the stretch marks on her hips and the sides of her stomach.

You softly touched her soft skin and she gasped as you did so. Her breathing was heavy as you soft kneaded the smooth skin causing her to whimper. You looked into the mirror that sat in front of you both to find a pair of blue eyes staring back at you. A blush raising to her cheeks. Slowly your hand started moving downward to the lady's plush thighs.

A soft knock could be heard on the door as you quickly retracted your hands and she whimpered at the lost touch. You set the plate of cherry pie beside her and fed her a spoonful licking your lips in the process and pressing your lips to hers causing her to let out a surprised squeak.

"Mama?" Her daughters voice could be heard from the other side of the door. Quickly you helped the woman get dressed and exited the room giving a quick bow and smile to Penelope. Who would've thought the lady would've liked cherries? As you returned to your quarters with some other maids, you couldn't help but smile as she allowed you to touch her body without telling you to stop. All because Portia Featherington fancied cherries.

I’ve been reading Dasey fics and theres always this conflict about how Casey is scared to reveal her feelings because of her morals and what family and friends are going to think but then like a couple chapters later, they get together and it’s never brought up again. So my question is, how do you think the family would navigate through this? I can imagine Nora and George being confused and surprised in the beginning but I don’t know. I always love to hear your thoughts.

Okay, so. SO. I think in EVERY universe I am working in (with the exception of the Hades AU), I have George and Nora reacting poorly. I genuinely believe with ALL MY HEART that they would be completely blind-sided by Derek and Casey getting together. We see this in my main college series kick at the darkness 'till it bleeds daylight, but I stand by this for... pretty much every version of Derek and Casey. Even the AUs where they aren't stepsiblings, I imagine George and Nora are just totally befuddled by them.

BUT, for the sake of this ask, let's look at canon. I believe that Nora has this idea in her head of a perfect family -- and she failed the first time with Dennis. Dennis was, in theory, the perfect man, the kind of man everyone expected her to marry. And that marriage failed. So now she's trying again with George, and it's messy and complicated, but dammit if she isn't going to do her best to make it seem like they are the perfect blended family. There's also all the pressure she puts on Casey -- while I don't believe Nora intends to do this, the fact is that likely after the divorce, Nora was overwhelmed and Casey saw this and, being who she is, just stepped up to the plate and took on extra responsibilities. Nora was grateful (obviously) and so proud that her daughter(s) are young women she can depend upon, and so she just... keeps leaning and trusting Casey to be the perfect Grade A daughter.

When it comes to George: I think he loves his kids. I think he's tried to be a good dad for them. I think they were fed, sheltered, and had a lot of fun with him, and very little discipline. I think, as a result, Marti and Derek are brats -- and the only reason Edwin is less of one is because DEREK keeps him in line. But Edwin can be pretty bratty too. What does this mean? It means that when Derek does reach out for help or does do something mature and right, it's usually either ignored or seen as "too little too late". I think that Derek and George have a lot of the same flaws, and George sees a lot of his younger self in Derek. And, as we see in LWL, neither George nor Nora view Derek as having grown up at all, despite the fact that his life is arguably in better shape than Casey's and he's far more mature than George.

What does this mean for them being faced with Dasey? I think Nora would FREAK and I think George would follow her lead. From my re-watch of the show, Nora spends a lot of time correcting George's parenting techniques; sometimes George convinces her to relax because it's not a big deal, and sometimes Nora convinces George to take things more seriously. But I do SERIOUSLY think that Nora would see her perfect, good daughter claiming to be in love WITH HER STEPBROTHER, the young man that Nora sees as a SON; and I think Nora would immediately refuse it. Because Nora has spent so much time trying to fix what she broke before; and I think she would see this relationship as, like, a cannonball aimed at her McTuri ship. I think George would see his wife incredibly upset and, judging by how he treats and views Derek, would take her side.

I think, at best, both parents would see this as a temporary rebellion on Casey's side, and just an impulsive move from Derek. I can just imagine George reminding Nora that Casey is a very attractive girl and Derek LIKES girls; of course he'd go after her if he had a shot. I think then there would be lots of mumbles of, "But he should know better than to go after his sister; I guess we expected too much from him; it'll blow over, he never commits to anything for long." (which is not true, btw. Look at hockey, look at film, look at his best friends (from his CHILDHOOD), look at his family. When Derek loves, he COMMITS.)

That being said, I think that, if Casey and Derek stuck to their guns and held their ground, Nora and George would eventually cave because, and I do stress this, they love their children. Nora loves Casey; George loves Derek. Neither wants to disown them or push them away. So, I think they would, after a lot of talking and Dasey determination, try to be okay with it.

I think, for a long time, it would be a "fake it until you make it" kind of thing. I think they would pretend to be okay with it because the other option is Derek and Casey not being around, and that's going to break up the family as much as (if not more so) them breaking up would. I think Nora makes contingency plans for when they break up. I think Nora has a lot of talks with Casey to check in; I think Casey is very private about her relationship with Derek and has been hurt by the reaction, and so is hesitant to divulge much information. I think this doesn't help calm Nora down whatsoever. I think George probably talks to the other kids (who I will get to in a minute) to try to understand. I think he kind of does, but doesn't trust his son enough not to screw it up.

I think it's years before George and Nora would actually be okay with it; and I think it would be one of those things where they pretended for so long eventually it became real. One day, Nora realized that when she said, "How sweet!" about something Derek did for Casey, she meant it. I suspect that this realization makes her sit down and think about her choices for a long time; and then I think she might apologize to Casey and finally start mending their relationship.

THE KIDS: I think they KNOW that Derek and Casey do not view each other as siblings. I think, especially as Edwin and Lizzie get older, they recognize UST for what it is. I think they love their siblings very much and recognize that the best thing for all of them is for them to be together.

THAT BEING SAID: I don't think it's a smooth transition for them. I think they probably find it SUPER weird at first. I think they told themselves for MONTHS that they would be supportive; and then they see Casey give Derek a kiss, and their brains explode a little. I think Marti is more okay with it than Edwin and Lizzie, but that's because she knows how much her Smerek loves Casey, and all kissing is gross, they're not special. I think Edwin and Lizzie try SO HARD to be cool about it, but it takes time. But I think both Derek and Casey, although hurt about their discomfort, understand that it's not disapproval, it's just growing pains and the awkwardness of seeing your sibling being sappy and in love. I think they'd adapt MUCH quicker than Genora, but would probably take more time than they thought, and I think Edwin and Lizzie would be disappointed in themselves.

Simon? I have NO idea. It depends on how old he is when they get together and the circumstances around it. Honestly, if you want, I can give you my HC on how everyone handles Derek and Casey getting together after LWL if you want, as opposed to as young adults.

This was a really long answer, but it's a complicated situation. I promise you that in any fic I have that has Derek and Casey getting together and the family involved, I wouldn't just brush over the family reaction. I love the fact that it would be dramatic, because it allows for conflict and relationship growth that isn't cheating or miscommunication or all those other tropes I dislike so much. This is a real and heartbreaking conflict that could make or break Dasey; and I love playing with the complications of family.

Okay, so hear me out, i read the new sneak peek of TGG, and at first i thought the writing was bad, i mean why do we have to repead things, right? It's obvious that Gray is powerful and protective, but then i remembered JLB said we don't have to read the TIG trilogy, in order to know what's happening in TGG, since it's a whole new series with a new plot..so it's like Caraval and OUABH thing.

And since we all know JLB writing style, she likes to make sure we UNDERSTAND, that's just her thing, and i don't know..i didn't really mind it while i was reading TIG or LWL, but i am not sure if i'll like it in TGG, bcs she needs to repead many things, technically rewrite some of the story, in order for the new audiance to understand..

I really hope people won't start hating on her writing style bec it's not her fault.

But anyway, I LOVED GIGI'S POV SO MUCH..can't wait for the book..oh and JLB, IF NEXT POV ISN'T LYRA'S, i'll pull Jason Bell on you.

Here is my petition to force Shayne to watch every Starkid show. I am probably overthinking his words but the way he talks about Starkid from time to time with Angela makes me feel like he thinks the shows are lame. But you just KNOW he would love them. So here is my petition for like a monthly Shayne and Angela stream where they watch one show every stream in order of the date they were posted. (maybe exclude lwl and mmam but definitely include nightmare time)
