#hallmark #a biltmore christmas #time travel #WHERE IS MY POST-CREDITS SCENE SHOWING HOW MARGARET REACTS???#she was one of the best parts of the movie!#you need at least five minutes of her screaming for joy!#also clearly there was a conspiracy of people in the past who knew about the time travel thing so how did that work?#what about that bearded guy on the crew who was CLEARLY another time traveler?#(there is no way that facial hair came from 1947)#also where does the relationship go from there?#how do you adjust?#does tour guide riker help out?#so many unanswered questions can fit into the last scenes of that film and i need answers #also just overall: thanks to people who said this one was worth seeking out because my goodness what a delight #that movie oozed charm #i think maybe my true core fictional love is classic '30s/'40s film because i was digging that vibe #the banter! the patter! the zingers! the perfect blend of cynicism and sentimentality #some of the background stuff was too modern but also some was spot on #that guy who played claude looks like he was born to be a classic Hollywood film star #the leading lady did not fit the vibe at all but she had great chemistry with the movie's leads so i can see why they cast her #the old-timey writer dude was charming #the main lady might be a new favorite hallmark actress (there's only one other on the list)#(watched part of a different film with her in it and she seems to put some of that classic hollywood sass into her roles)#i wasn't sold on the male lead at first but the writing came through for him #when he sits in the chair behind her! when he's trying to guess her personality traits?#charming and absolutely spot-on for the vibe #(the fact that they cast hallmark regulars in the remake is hilarious and also sad because it looks so much worse than the original)#anyway great time had a blast will definitely be rewatching

oh i can already tell i’m about to have some really unpopular opinions about the edge of sleep tv show

#i remember everyone loving the podcast when it came out #but as someone who was an active fan of audio dramas and podcasts for years at that point the show just. made me frustrated #i realized later after listening to left right game that qcode has this very strange and almost uncanny production behind it #where they get incredibly famous actors to play characters and then bank their marketing on that alone #and the writing is always *almost* good. like sometimes you start to think you might actually be listening to a good show #bc i mean the audio quality and special effects are all stellar #but then the writing and acting is always just a little bit too over-the-top and dramatic for it to feel natural #like the writers don’t know how to portray emotion without visuals so they just make everything Way Too Intense #and each time it feels like they just ask ‘what’s the most insane thing that can happen next?’#’oh ok he’s gonna chop dave’s dick off’#and every time you start to actually like a character they say something misogynistic or just otherwise batshit fucking insane #not to mention that time in left right game where a girl confessed her love to her best friend before LITERALLY DYING FOR HER #only for the best friend in the next scene to be like ‘erm i’m not gay 😐 awkward…’ and she’s NEVER BROUGHT UP AGAIN #qcode productions are kinda like the fast fashion of fiction podcasts i think #they churn out so many so quickly and they always feel just slightly unnatural or superficial #not to mention when i tried looking into them years ago and it’s impossible to find #literally anything about them. like their minimalist ass website was so insanely insanely vague #and yet clearly they’ve gotta have a fuck ton of money backing them to have this absurd amount of a-list talent on board #(which really i think that is all they care about)#anyways yeah some markiplier fans are gonna get pissed at me for not kissing the ground he walks on. but i was one of you. i AM one of you #and i hate that somebody out there is holding the iron lung movie over us like we’re dogs and if we wanna watch it #we gotta watch this show. which BTW they are giving no details about where to watch it #and seemingly no promotion or marketing material for a show that’s been in production for years coming out in less than 3 weeks #just weird as fuck man. and i don’t even think mark has much to do with it

looking @ old fic i started when i was 14/15 is so funny bc im realizing once again why i never mark fics as abandoned even if its been literal years since i've touched them. specifically i was checking docs for stuff i started and either did or didn't post to ffn.

and its like. nothing is bad??? like i can see where my outside-the-box ideal of fic writing comes from. not just fics but writing in general, i'm p sure. even if it's a total cliche plot setup, there are details on each that rly make it stand out like oh yeahhhhhh i did have this great idea once upon a time.

funny too bc was it executed well in prose??? no absolutely not i wrote like shit when i was 15. would i revive an idea one day and revise it to be less cliche or cringy while still keeping the stand-out elements??? yea maybe. i might. everything i'm currently working on that i started from 2021 up to now still holds my supreme interest, but like i'm not gonna say never.

esp since i write fic first and foremost for my own need and specifically what i like to read, it makes it impossible to consider an idea i've thought extensively about "not worth writing anymore". anyway not making this too long i jus found everything interesting to consider

#writing #this fic i pulled up from JUNE 2014 crazy was the old chosenshi au i was trying to write for a friend #i dont ship blue/silver and never will and thats prolly why i never finished it #but i do still like!! the idea of rocket!blue raised w silver and breaking free of tr while running the hoenn branch #no idea how i remembered bc it wasnt in the plot pts on the doc but she was gonna get sent to the battle frontier #to nab jirachi and have encounters w frontier brains and change her mind at the end of it all #hell i could go back and not make it ship fic at all - have silver be a little one-sided obsessed or #even jus like.. attached to blue as a rivalry like as a way to show her up at every turn #another fic around the same time was the old pokespe hs au where i changed all the dexholder's names for some reason #i have no idea where i was in reading spe bc i put lyra in for some reason and had the sinnoh trio even tho i never read past v2 of dp #idk if it was more gameverse or what but its so funny looking @ the ship list n seeing i had gold paired w black #bc i had manga!ss and manga!ferriswheel so was it rly speverse or was i projecting????#actually i think black was supposed to die and gold was gonna go thru this whole thing abt grieving #looking at the ship list so funny bc i never shipped gold/crys or entourageshi #and clearly i did not know the superiority of pmshi if i threw lyra in jus for silver #god but i do love (most!) of the alt names i gave them #would absolutely fuck up the ship list if i ever redid it tho #also have perfectworld tho im sure i have the most recent rewrite on pen and paper somewhere #that one i also gave up bc the idea i had for flare!sycamore was cringe along with #every time i went back to work on it enough time passed that i thought my writing sucked #i rewrote that damn thing so many times but oooooooo i still love the idea #as long as i changed the cringe parts to smth better i could still rock w most of these #that fic rly had everything... psychic!korrina. leaf/serena. sycamore hacking the secret to mega evo. lys/syc that ends in failure #bc of the ending line i will never forget > only in a perfect world could you and i be together. destined and doomed from the start #im rambling n im boutta run outta tags gimme a sec

Jlaire (or just Claire as a character, tbh) wouldn't be any be anywhere near as popular as it is if Claire was chubby like she is in the book.

Anyways, I love both book and show Claire with my entire heart, but I'm still kinda salty with how much they slimmed her down in the show

#the inherent fatphobia in media thats then perpetuated by fandoms and their favoritism of thin characters is just depressing honestly #and you can tell from early concept art back when they were still thinking abt keeping her closer to the book #she was still skinny like they never even considered giving her the body type she had in the book :(#anyway #her body type being described as “what the popular girls would call 'not skinny enough'” in the book #is like one of my favorite things ever #especially how its liek in the same paragraph as jim listing things abt her he finds attractive #im also still sad that they made her shorter than jim #i loved how in the book sje was the tallest and arguably most capable trollhunter #in the show they were clearly trying to make her a 'girl power' character #which is fine in theory #but their execution was meh #like imo the best way to do it probably would've been just keeping her more similar to her book counterpart #not that she wasn't badass in the show #but still #claire nuñez #claire fontaine #trollhunters novel #trollhunters #tales of arcadia #jlaire #Moth.txt

ya'll. I am shocked at how quick & human Larian is at responding to bugs. I've been taking a few notes about random ones I've come across in the game, and as a test I sent in 2 yesterday, and Larian immediately responded with an unautomated response and asked for save files they could use to test the bugs out with.

Like... I was expecting dead air as a reply lol, this is promising news for future hotfixes imo!

I know we complain about BG3 stuff not working a lot on here & elsewhere on the internet, but glitches and known missing content literally won't get fixed unless you let them know exactly what's going wrong and why. The more examples they have, the better! You can do it here and it's very quick and easy:

#baldur's gate 3 #bg3 #this is not where you request for gortash kisses btw lol #it's where you ask for things that are CLEARLY bugs to get fixed #like wyll's greetings always being neutral now #or voice lines not showing up or the audio isn't being played #etc #if you don't tell them something's wrong then it won't get done unless maybe modders do it #SO my ongoing list of Astarion-related bugs is def going to be sent to them so maybe in future hotfixes it'll all work flawlessly one day #my weird Karlach/illithid AA ending stuff that got mixed up is definitely getting submitted along with love triangle lines not playing #and also his 3 spawn kiss lines that i imagine they know already don't work? but gdi i want them back in lol &idk if folks actually told em

the thing that i find most baffling and unrelatable is that ryan must genuinely just like having his photo taken because the man is coming out with new photoshoots every few weeks and i'm not complaining (i would NEVER) but as a person who never wishes to be perceived, particularly by a camera, i do not understand wanting to be photographed ever

#this is just the top of the list #because lbr i have VERY LITTLE in common with ryan #the being photographed thing is just one of a long list #but it is perhaps the one that i find least understandable #however #i fully support him and his constant photoshoots and absolutely encourage him in this hobby because clearly the camera loves him and #it only benefits us #ryan guzman #i wonder if he gets antsy #omg it's been three weeks since i did a photoshoot better set one up >.<

#god help me i don't mean to keep bringing up silly little things like this but i'm also trying desperately to resist #just rewatching the whole show for the THIRD time in less than 6 months they're rotting my brain #and like idk if this even makes sense it just got stuck in my head it's just so interesting to me like....#there's so many examples i won't bore you but the...relationship? between his play-acting and his sincerity #what he does for the bit and what he does on instinct and the messy convoluted combination of the two #- the 'good luck teresa. love you.' the 'what you've meant to me. what you mean to me.' -#he WAS basically a conman; he still is in many ways; he's so confident in his ability to pull off a trick #to the point where he thinks he can fool red john (and the courts and the fbi etc etc the list goes on)#and it's not that he can't fool lisbon - despite being the person who knows him best he has fooled her on quite a few occasions -#it's that most of the times he DOES fool her it's not the con that does it; it's the sincerity slipping through the cracks #it's the feelings he has for her that he can't possibly express but he can't seem to keep a damn lid on either #it's the way that the closer they get the harder it becomes for him to fool himself #also: hands #anyway i'm doing great (clearly)#tm

yesterday i watched intruder 1989 btw funniest shit i ever seen

#oh nay #i've picked back up on my slasher watching recently a few weeks ago i watched #the final girls 2015 (cried the WHOLE time then immediately got my period) the burning 1981 (i love a friday ripoff) and stage fright #aka deliria 1987 (italian + sososo pretty)#INTRUDER THO i was so immediately charmed by the setting (stuck in a little grocery store overnight.... i love when it's cramped up #in a little space esp when it's familiar and comforting)#it felt like. it was ok but so clearly could have been better it's painful. but i enjoyed it a lot #the camerawork and framing and stuff was SOOO creative and fun #and the kills were fun fun fun fun the sfx were slay i think there might have been like 3 different fake heads that got cut in half #and the likes #i ALWAYS love that so much #was a bit slow but it was fine it had a bit of a. my bloody valentine vibe to it. the bloodbags were cute i cared them enough #the killer felt a bit..... eh......... but it was done well enough i did Not suspect a thing but also i don't even try to figure stuff out #so who knows #i have DECIDED that evil dead & child's play WILL be watched closer to halloween this year so there's that but i've gathered a huge fuckin #list of Other Stuff until then #man I WATCHED TOURIST TRAP 1979 IT WAS SO INSANE????????
