We need a Wonderlandian word for Princess! Help me out...

As someone who loves the idea of there being a Wonderlandian language (or at the very least, a pseudo-language) that they speak in throughout the Underland, I think there needs to be a word for "princess".

I mean, just think about it---Red is always calling Chloe 'princess' and 'boo', so Chloe needs something to call her as well! And I mean, I know Bridget's title 'Queen of Hearts' is more an ode to her whole cards theme, and she's actually the Empress of Wonderland. While that would make Red an heiress more than a princess, I still think there would a word for it! Plus, Ella might have called Bridget by this term at some point, so it can be used in that way too.

If you look below the cut, there's a few words I've collected (some are canon within the Alice In Wonderland world, others are my own ideas which you can feel free to nab and use yourself). Use those as inspiration and use those beautiful brains so we can think of something cute for Chloe to use to refer to Red as!

*telethesia = the ability to know that something has happened or is in a place without the use of the five main senses. This can be used to slightly predict an outcome or stay in touch with Wonderland when on the surface (Auradon), often in the form of calls or a looking glass.

No Small Feat Art Pt. 5 - Little Girl Lost Arc

By request, I'm gonna show off some of the artwork for No Small Feat, a Midgaheim story my friends and I told through the TTRPG system Fabula Ultima. I drew a lot of characters and monsters for it, and my friends - in particular, @dragonzzilla, @scatha5, and @dinosaurana - helped line and color them so we'd have cute little sprites to use on our online battlemaps, which really helped sell the whole "we're playing an oldschool turn based RPG" vibe that Fabula Ultima's system is going for.

In this part, we're gonna look at the many NPCs introduced in the campaign's third arc, Little Girl Lost!

The titular little girl of the arc was Dora Raine, who one of my players described as "the saddest girl I've ever seen." Dora had a tense relationship with her mother, and after a fight where her mother regrettably said "Sometimes I wish I wasn't your mother!", Dora was spirited away to Fairyland, kicking off our plot.

Our heroes were already set to meet Dora's mother, Countess Maelys Raine, because of a rumor that she might hold one of the crown jewels. Unfortunately, she told them that said jewel was in the necklace Dora wore, and thus was trapped in Fairyland with Dora. Our heroes volunteered to rescue the girl, leaving the two crown jewels they had with Maelys in case they didn't come back.

Dora's kidnapped turned out to be another countess, albeit of the Seelie court rather than Engelsex. Countess Vespidi claimed she had a right to take custody of Dora, but after a brief discussion (while guarded by her army, of course) agreed to allow the heroes to try and convince the girl to return with them if they first proved their worth by overcoming the obstacles she'd lay in their path on the way to her palace. So our heroes went on a jaunt through Fairyland.

Along the way they had encounters with various soldiers in Vespidi's court - troops of hobgoblins, goblins, pixies, and orks.

A wrinkle presented itself when they met one of Vespidi's chief enforcers, Big Bubba Bugbear, who was very talkative during their fight - and, in particular, was vocal about wanting to keep Dora safe and happy because, according to him, she'd spent so much time crying recently. Bubba had been watching over Dora on Vespidi's orders for a while, you see, and he clearly thought that the fairy Countess had Dora's best interests at heart.

There were some unrelated monster encounters on the way, too. The Deofolskein had nothing to do with Countess Vespidi's plot, it was just very insistent (but polite!) about asking the PC's to let it eat their eyeballs. They're its favorite dish, you see.

Our heroes also met Four Elemental Spirits - a salamandral, a gnome, a sylph, and an undine - who gave them their first sidequest: seeking out the Four Elemental Masters in the mortal world, who would test our heroes' knowledge of the four elements of magic and present them with great boons should they prove worthy. These four just really love teaching people about magic, you see!

At last our heroes got to the court of Countess Vespidi, where they faced on final fight against three powerful enemies: a Bandersnatch, a Jubjub Bird, and a Jabberwock. Defeating the three champions of the fairy noblewoman, they were finally allowed an audience with Dora, where they learned some very important facts.

First, Countess Vespidi wasn't just any fairy, but specifically Dora's Fairy Guard-mother, and a close friend of Dora's father and her birth mother.

Second, Maelys wasn't Dora's birth mother, but rather her stepmother. And you know how stepmothers act in most fairy tales, don't you?

Third, and most horrible, Dora didn't have a crown jewel in her necklace.

Our heroes, backed by Countess Vespidi and her forces, returned to the mortal world to demand answers, only to find that Maelys had already left with the crown jewels in tow.

The campaign's main villain had duped them very, very well.

thoughts on the skeith? or elephante? whichever isn't in your queue yet

Ironically, despite its incredibly original name, the Elephante is actually not just a regular elephant; it's bipedal, it has small semi-vestigal wings/a fluffy tail, and it has a fancy headpiece with a gemstone in it. I'm not always big on "default" clothing on Neopets, but the hats here actually look pretty nice and are passable as fancy jewelry that anthro characters could potentially wear.

Color-wise, the default Elephante colours are mostly solid, though the toenails, hats, and tail break things up a bit. I do wish the default colours had more cohesion—like the gemstones matching the base color instead of always being red—and the pink snout feels ever-so-slightly out of place, but otherwise they look fine.

Elephantes definitely benefited from customization. Their lineart was cleaned up considerably, which helped fix some of the jankier elements like the wings and legs. Another big benefit of customization is the ability to remove the default clothing, which is always appreciated.

I also like the change in expression—the old Elephantes always felt a bit weird, like they burned down the house while you were gone and now they're trying to act normal while they figure out how to break the news to you.

Favorite Colours:

Relic: The relic Elephante just released earlier this year, and I gotta say, I really like it. The base is nicely shaded and textured with plenty of cracks, and it's then complimented by beautiful bronze metal accents. The body is also covered in leaves, which match the green of the eyes and hat, which are slightly lighter to make sure they pop. Great stuff. The base also looks great with just the little bit of bronze around the iris.

My only minor issue is that the amount of plants feels just a smidge too much. They are removable, but it's an all-or-nothing situation. I wish the ones on the body were separate from the ones on the base—especially because that could open non-relic Elephantes to wearing them.

Candy: Peppermint swirls aren't technically anything too fancy, but the sutble texturing here is great and really makes it look like hard candy. I also love how the stripes properly fit with and conform to the body shape, which is something a lot of Neopet colours forget to do. Also, the extra little peppermint in the hat is absolutely perfect.

Royal: Neopets evidently decided to take the "Indian elephant" idea to its logical conclusion by giving the royal Elephants things like sari wraps. Granted, I'm not sure what region India would be considered in Neopia, but hey, it's a fun concept and it looks beautiful. Between the two I think I like the royal girl more just for the palette, but both are solid.

UC/styled versions also exist. These versions obviously have more personality, but thankfully the converted designs are pretty spot-on save for the strange lack of fingernail polish.

BONUS: The zombie Elephante is shockingly gory for Neopets all things considered, only rivaled by the zombie Jubjub. Exposed skull, giant gaping wounds, stitches, ripped ears and wings—you name it. It looks fantastic and properly undead, and the whole thing is nicely drawn and shaded. It comes with clothing but the base itself is also solid (it's a bit strange that the skull is considered a wearable, but it's a play on the normal hats so I suppose that's why).

My only issue with it, and the reason it's a bonus, is that the expression is WAY too cheerful. The irises needed to be way smaller, less focused, or just plain missing, and the mouth looks too smile-ly. If it had a slightly more haunted expression it would've been perfect, but as is, it's still pretty good.

Chapter 7: I Louvre the Museum

~A few days after Three and Four recovered~

While eating breakfast, Meggy remembered her conversation with Tari on the boat. "Hey Luigi?"

"Yes Meggy?"

Tari looked up from her plate in curiosity as Meggy asked "I was wondering if we were going to visit any historic landmarks on the trip. Say....the Eiffel Tower?" Luigi's confused expression turned into a patient smile as he raised a finger and explained "Oh yes Meggy! I actually had one planned for today. It's not the Eiffel Tower, but it could still be fun."

"Mario hopes it's a spaghetti factory!"

Four rolled his eyes playfully and said "A spaghetti factory wouldn't be a historic landmark Mario." Bob didn't really see the appeal. "WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT SOME OLD HISTORY JUNK?" Boopkins told him "History is actually really important to your culture! For example, me and JubJub are-"

"SHUT YOUR FAT GREEN MOUTH!"

Meggy didn't question their dynamic and changed the subject. "Anyways...It will be nice for you two to join us again!" Four nodded as he rolled up his sleeve to where his arm was gripped tightly by Mario. "Yup! My arm has healed nicely and Three's body temperature is back to normal." Three smirked and said "I actually didn't mind it. It was nice to relax and stay away from you idiots for a few days." He put his arm around Four which made him jump back a little. He tried teasing Three in a cute voice.

"Awww you loved spending time with me~"

"N-NO! Shut up you Baka!"

Meggy laughed at their cuteness and said "Well how about we go up to our rooms and get ready now?" Tari exclaimed in excitement"I can't wait to find out where we're going!"

~A little while later~

It took a little longer than they thought, but the crew finally arrived in front of some kind of glass pyramid. Once Tari saw it, she instantly knew where Luigi had taken them. "The Louvre museum! Nice choice Luigi!"

"BRO COME ON! A MUESUM? THAT'S SO LAME!"

Luigi sighed in disappointment so Meggy tried to cheer him up by complimenting his efforts. "Don't take it personally Luigi. You know how Bob is. I think you did a great job!" He smiled and stuttered "T-Thanks!" As soon as they got inside, Mario was bedazzled with all the artwork. He was about to rush off when something caught his eye. Three kept side glancing at Four like he wanted to ask him something. Mario remembered his promise to Three so he grabbed Luigi and ducked down a hallway of paintings. "Come on Luigi! Let's see if we can find some spaghetti Picasso!"

Tari picked up a pamphlet and gave it to Meggy. "Here! You can choose what we do first." She smiled at Tari's modesty and pointed to something that caught her eye. "The Egyptian exhibit sounds cool."

"Then let's go!" The girls high-fived each other and went off into the opposite direction of Mario and his brother. Boopkins could see that Bob looked bored out of his mind. "How about we check out the medieval section!" Bob's eyes perked up as he started imagining himself as some royal king, ordering everyone what to do.

"HEAR YEES HEAR YEES! BRING ME THE WOMEN AND ALL YOUR RICHES!"

His eyes shaped into money signs as he went barreling down some stairs with Boopkins chasing behind. Nothing really intrigued Three so he asked "Want to just take a walk?" Four shrugged and said "Sure! I've got nothing better to do anyways."

Bob started scooping up priceless antiquities like a crown and scepter till Boopkins stood in his path. "OUT OF THE WAY BOOPKINS!" He tried explaining "We're not supposed to touch this stuff Bob!" He sighed, not being hesitant at all, and kicked Boopkins out of the way. Sitting on a old throne that was supposed to be for display, he cried out "BOW DOWN TO YOUR KING!"

"Uh...how about we look at some pretty pictures instead." Boopkins pointed to an oil painting and said "Ooooo this painting was from 5000 years ago. The Dark Ages." The artwork displayed a fight sequence between some rats and cloaked wizards. "The war of wizardry and rats?" Bob dropped all the items he was stealing and turned around slowly. "DID YOU SAY...RATS?"

"THE TIME HAS COME! THE PLAGUE IS UPON US! WE ARE REPENTING FOR ALL THE SINS WE HAVE COMMITTED IN THIS UNHOLY LIFE!"

Boopkins tried to calm him down. "It's just a panting Bob! There's no rats here!" All of a sudden, the painting began to glow and sucked both of them into it as they fell through a massive void of blue light.

Meggy and Tari started to look at all the cool artifacts in the room. Some even reminded Meggy of Splatoon weapons. "These inscriptions are so cool! Imagine if we tried them out." Tari replied "That would be nice, but I don't think it would be safe. What if these were curses?" Meggy could understand Tari's concern. "Yeah. Don't worry, I would never want to hurt you." Tari nodded. "Same."

They continued looking around as Meggy found something she wanted to show her friend. "Hey Tari! Look at-" She then noticed a sad expression on Tari's face. "Whoa! Hey what is it? Did I do something wrong?" Tari shook her head and quickly said "No! It wasn't you Meggy."

"Then what is it?"

"I just...All these people accomplished so much and I just feel like...I've done nothing."

Meggy looked concerned. Tari? Accomplishing nothing? She was so amazing and Meggy thought that every moment she spent time with her. "That's so not true! You've done so many things Tari. Like how you stood up for yourself and found yourself a job, or when you helped me beat One Shot Wren in the simulation!"

"I...guess..."

Meggy then lunged forward and hugged her tightly as Tari was surprised at first, but slowly melted into it. "Oh Tari...when are you going to see yourself the way I do?" Tari felt so lucky to have a friend like Meggy that comforted her when times got tough. "Thanks Meggy, but then what am I to you?"

"You're...my..." Meggy paused for a second. "You're my friend Tari. The most brave girl I have ever met, except me of course!" Tari laughed at Meggy's cockiness. "That really cheered me up! Thank you Meggy!" The two stood in silence as blush rose on Meggy's cheeks and she whispered "You're welcome Tari..."

"Look at this Mario!" Luigi pointed to a very famous painting of a woman. "The Mona Lisa! It's the most popular thing this museum has to offer." Mario yawned and mumbled "More like the most boring thing..." He whined "Why can't we go look at a spaghetti painting?"

"Because there is no spaghetti painting Mario..."

"Yes there is! Watch Mario!" He pulled a plate of spaghetti out of his pocket that he had been saving and threw it against the Mona Lisa. "There! Isn't that better?" Luigi immediately freaked out and screamed "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE MARIO! WE'RE GOING TO BE IN BIG TROUBLE!"

He then heard the echoing sound of feet coming in their direction. "Quick Mario! Help me hide this!" He looked around for something to cover the stain as Mario exclaimed "Don't worry! Mario knows what to do!"

As the person rounded the corner of the hall, he came in to find a green Italian hanging up over a painting of some kind. The man looked dumbfounded as Luigi sweated nervously. "N-Need...s-something?" This guy looked suspiciously at it as he walked over slowly, but it felt much faster to Luigi. "Could I see that?"

Luigi laughed nervously. "Why? There's tons more p-paintings you could look at." He took down Luigi and looked at the red splotch all over the artwork. "What happened here!?"

"Looks like its up to Mario to save the day!" He went up to the man, pointed at his brother, and..."Luigi did it!"

"WHAT!?"

The man grabbed Luigi by the throat and said sternly "Do you know who I am?" Luigi tried to gasp for air as he croaked out "N-No?" The mysterious man inched closer as he told Luigi "I am a famous painter..."

"You...don't say..." He suddenly dropped Luigi onto the ground and exclaimed "This is the best thing I have ever seen! You're a genius!" Luigi went into shock as he said, confused "I am?"

"Hey wait a minute! Mario was the one who did that!" The painter didn't listen as he yelled "Everyone check out what this green guy did to the Mona Lisa!" A crowd of people came to admire it as they all threw money at Luigi and praised him in compliments. Mario tried to shove through the crowd, yelling "HEY! Mario is the genius here! He made that mastapieca!"

"Oww...what happened?" Boopkins rubbed his head when a boot then hit him on the back of his head. Bob soon regained consciousness as he noticed a massive battle going on between them. They both recognized that it was the same image that was on the panting. More boots came hurling from the wizard's side. "We've got to get out of here!" Boopkins started running for his life before anymore flying shoes hit him. That's when he realized that someone was missing. "Bob?"

He saw Bob was in wizard gear and he was declaring "WE CAN'T RUN LIKE COWARDS! WE MUST STAND OUR GROUND AND FIGHT!" He began smiting the rats with electricity as Boopkins ducked behind a rock.

He kept smiting them over and over with the other wizards until the wave of rats was gone, but that was just the first heat. One of the wizards noticed Bob's tactics and said "You have much skill." He pulled out a wand and told Bob "You're a wizard Harry."

Bob knocked it out of his hands. "HOW DARE YOU CALL ME HARRY! AND THAT WAND IS SMALL AS CRAP! WHO NEEDS THAT WHEN YOU HAVE GUNS!" His swords disappeared and were replaced with long range riffles as he started shooting like crazy. All the wizards ran around screaming while Boopkins tried to stop this. A low rumbling was heard as the second wave of rats was coming."Ahhhh! We've got to find a way out of here!"

"BRING IT ON YOU RAT BASTARDS!"

Luigi tried to try and tell the crowd that he didn't want all this attention, but they just kept bombarding him with millions of questions. Asking him how he did it, what made him think of it, if he would sign an autograph. This was getting to be too much for Luigi to handle as he confessed "I didn't do it! My brother did!"

He pointed  to Mario and told them "He threw a plate of spaghetti at the painting, so he's the genius. Not me." The crowd looked at Mario, who waved to them with a derpy expression. They couldn't believe that a guy like that was responsible for such work. After sharing glances with each other, it wasn't long before everyone filled out of the room, no longer interested. Well all, but the painter. He looked up at the pasta sauce stains and was instantly filled with inspiration. "THIS IS PERFECT! I'LL CALL IT THE SPAGETT CRAZE!"

As Three and Four walked hand in hand, they were getting more used to each other's company. Those days when they just rested, they did nothing but care for each other's well being. Four would drape blankets over Three and make his favorite coffee, but he always said he did a terrible job, and Three would volunteer to bring Four anything he needed since he didn't want him to put too much pressure on the bruise. Kinda seemed a little much for a minor cold and a bruised arm, but it was really sweet how both of them were concerned for each other's well being.

"Thanks for looking after me Three." Four said to break the calm silence between them. He smiled and said "No problem. I didn't expect you to do the same." Four giggled and said "Well I just care about my friends and I'm sure you do too." When Four said that last part, Three grumbled and said "No I don't! I've just been hanging around you for too long." Four stopped smiling and gave him a confused look. "What do you mean? Just last week you said you liked hanging out with us."

"Oh that...What I meant was I enjoyed terrorizing you guys yeah!"

"Why do you keep giving us mixed signals!?Just tell me what's bugging you!"

"Nothings bugging me! I'm fine!"

"Then why are you so concerned! One day you act like you don't even need us and the next you are sweet and caring!"

Four immediately stopped himself when he heard what he just said. Speaking those words to his ex rival...

Three stopped walking and finally said "Okay! I try to act like the cool villain guy who doesn't need help, but ever since the 'perfect' incident, something in me is concerned for you and worried that you could get hurt again!" Four was stunned as he clasped both hands onto Three. "You...do?" Three softly nodded as he stared at the floor. He felt a gloved hand rub against his cheek. "I wouldn't judge you for that and neither would anybody else. It means a lot that you care. Really it does and I care for you too."

He noticed Four start to well up as he shakily say "And on the boat, when you fell off. I was so scared and worried that you were gonna..." Three pulled him in closer as the two of them rested into each other. "Everything's okay Four...It's all fine now." They stayed like this for a few more minutes until Four whispered "You big softie..."

Three blushed and tried to retort back, but remembered what Four said. He slowly let go and they both felt better. Just before they could go back to walking, Meggy and Tari came up to join them. "I think we've had enough fun for one day." The boys agreed when two more familiar faces came up to join them. "You would not believe what we had to go through today." Luigi sighed.

"Mario made famous spaghetti art!"

"What does that..." Three started, but then muttered "You know what, never mind. I don't want to know."

"Where's Bob and Boopkins?" Meggy asked before she heard someone yelling "TAKE THAT YOU STUPID RATS!" They all rushed down a hallway to find their missing friends trapped inside a painting. "BOB! BOOPKINS! WHAT HAPPENED!"

"Oooo they're trapped in a painting like how Mario was with King Boo!"

Boopkins ran to the edge of the painting and yelled "Please help us get out guys!" Bob didn't care for them as he just kept fending off the rats, showing not even a sideways glance. "NO MERCY!" Luigi remembered that time he had rescued Mario and pulled out a vacuum. "Don't worry guys! I know how to get them out!"

He turned on his vacuum and sucked out Bob and Boopkins before they were consumed by rats. "Thank you Luigi!" Boopkins hugged his leg while Bob looked kind of ticked off. "I WASN'T FINISHED WITH THEM! ALL RATS MUST DIE!" He ran back towards the panting, but Four stopped him. "Let it go Bob! It's fine! They can't get us from inside the painting." Bob did what he was told and mumbled something about the day of reckoning or something like that.

Another crazy day had come and gone, but this one had really cleared things up. Meggy had encouraged Tari to feel better about herself, Mario had inspired a painter, Four helped Three be more honest with his feelings, and Bob...I guess got to get his comeuppance against the rats. As they all went back to the hotel, Three thought about what Four said. If he wouldn't judge, then maybe he should actually try and confess his love. He looked over at Four, who was looking up at the night sky. He noticed Three's interest and smiled at him, to which he smiled back.

Enjoy the moment now Three. Four is something special.

Chapter 8: No Power Means Nothing is Okie Dokie

These 2 are in my mind

They work too perfectly for a couple. They're the embodiment of Dog X Cat (one literally being a cat)

Both have a shared interest in taking care of children, battling with guns (they both use shotguns as their prime weapons) and they both really care about JubJub.

The only characters I know of that have a interest/actual care about JubJub are Boopkins cause it's his brother, Tari cause he's a duck, Shroomy cause he's a boy scout and loves taking care of kids/teaching them and Karen cause she's a single mother of 3 so she naturally has a care for children.

Hell, even ANTI, THE SAME DUDE WHO RIPPED A DEMONS HAND OFF AND SENT IT RUNNING AND ALMOST KILLED BOWSER CAUSE HE LOOKED LIKE A DEMON, cares about JubJub to an extent. He chased Meggy and JubJub around Meggy's house all day just to give JubJub a gun to make him feel better cause he was crying.

It makes more sense for the 2 middle aged children caretakers who are skilled fighters to be romantically involved over Swag and Karen. And Swag's waifu is Sonic, we've already established this.

To me, it just makes a lot of sense. Both of them are single and live alone (Karen has her kids so she's not technically alone). They could really use each other if Anti is still a thorn in Shroomy's side to control to a manageable level and Karen just needs the extra help. Also, it'd be very interesting to see Karen take a liking to both sides, possibly easing up Anti.
