What do you think Limoreau is like on holiday? Who over packs? Who ends up forgetting their passport half way thru the trip? Who prefers lazy sunbathing on the beach vs the other one wanting to go surfing and snorkeling with fish. Which one ends up buying the whole gift shop? Who gets food poisoning after tasting everything on the menu?
Some food for thought xx
Mmm, love this shit.
Okay, Limoreau on holiday.
Jordan is definitely one to over pack, living by the better safe than sorry mentality. They could have been an eagle scout with the "always be prepared" type packing they do. (They also need those hair products and that Dyson air wrap, let's be real.)
Marie would be a light/simple packer, used to only having what's needed and not having room for anything unnecessary. She knows how to survive with minimal things, having one trusty jacket or pair of shoes for any situation, not seeing the need to pack multiple pairs or anything. She knows what she needs and that's all she's gonna pack, if she needs anything else, she knows how to be resourceful and adapt.
That being said, I think Jordan would be the one to actively worry about forgetting anything, always having to double or triple check everything. Especially if they're traveling out of the state or the country, going on a flight where they need things like a passport, they're always checking to make sure they have it on them.
Marie probably double checks at most, but trusts herself to not forget anything. She's probably used to needing to pack quickly, getting it over with. Which probably means she would most likely be the one to forget their passport or something. Jordan would catch on to that quickly, always having to remind her as they're waking out the door if she has all her things. In my head, Marie hasn't traveled much, not ever having to worry about a passport in the past (and maybe she's never even been on a plane before). Her first time going on one is with Jordan, who most likely has gone on multiple family vacations, so they're the one to help her though going through airport customs and such, which is an overwhelming process to say the least for Marie.
Jordan finds it adorable when they're on the plane and Marie is freaking out a bit as the plane takes off, squeezing the life out of Jordan's hand, but is immediately distracted by the view out the plane window once they're in the air.
Again, with Jordan probably having gone on a few family trips over the years, they're probably the one to prefer a relaxing approach to a holiday. Lazily sunbathing on the beach, enjoying the scenery. While Marie, who hasn't had the chance to go on vacation since she was a child, wants to experience everything. She wants to play in the waves, go snorkeling or so other touristy stuff and enjoy her time there doing things. And Jordan would gladly indulge if it meant they could keep that smile on her face. Marie would want to buy a bunch of things from gift shops and food stalls, and Jordan would buy out the whole place for her if they could.
Marie probably isn't as adventurous with food as Jordan is, Jordan probably having already tried most things, but she'd make it her personal goal to keep up with them and try a bunch of different things, even if she's a bit scared to try certain things. Her pallet is probably used to simple foods that she's grown up on from the orphanage, and she prefers more homey meals that remind her of her childhood, so she probably won't end up enjoying most of those adventurous foods. I can see her getting food poisoning from something, Jordan taking care of her the next day, smiling as she vows to never do that again.
I love the thought of them being adventurous in their own ways, the other always up to stand up to a challenge and meet the other person on their level when it comes to different things. I like to think Jordan has a secret fear of rollercoasters, but gets on every ride because Marie wants to ride every ride in the park. Similar to how Marie tries to meet them on their level food wise. They're very similar but different at the same time and I love that dynamic so much.
Loved this food for thought. Very fun to think about. I love these too so much, lol. Thanks for the ask!!

Thess vs Productivity
It’s only half past twelve and I have got so much done today.
It’s particularly weird because while I went to bed at a halfway reasonable hour, I still woke up before 10am. Though that might have had something to do with a text alert from my GP saying that they’re arranging a phone appointment with me in a week and a half or so regarding my blood test results. I guess the thought of “Okay, I only got the blood drawn on Monday so if I’ve got results coming in this soon, something’s up”, tempered with, “But they’re not trying to speak to me immediately immediately so it can’t be life-threatening” is probably going to kick-start your morning.
Quick trip to the corner shop, and then I started up my slow cooker stew. I turned it on about an hour ago and already the flat’s starting to smell amazing. As per usual, I took liberties with the recipe - I added a potato, I threw in some sage and rosemary as well as the bay leaves and thyme they asked for, I at least doubled the amount of garlic they asked for (three cloves for a 4+ serving dish is all they asked for; clearly they have not met me), and I spiced the meat with some paprika and garlic pepper before I tossed it into the slow cooker. I also may have used less thyme than the original recipe calls for, but I can’t be sure because they asked for “half a pack” and I was getting the herbs from the balcony garden so fuck if I know how much is in a pack. Anyway, the only other real issue here is having had to move my kettle. There’s just about enough space on the counter but I don’t have any wall outlets spare in the kitchen and I had to borrow the power strip I had in the kitchen for my work-from-home setup. I’ll get another one eventually, but for now, if I want coffee, I’ll just have to plug the kettle into one of the living room sockets. It’s fine.
Also I’d forgotten that I boiled up some brine for more refrigerator dill pickles last night, so that it’d cool overnight and be ready by morning. So once I was done sorting out the stew, I spent some time putting garlic cloves, sprigs of dill, and cucumber bits into jars and then pouring salty vinegar water over top. Sounds far less fancy to say it that way, but that is what I did. There’s starting to be a shortage of room in the refrigerator, even though I did at least clear enough space for the jars when I removed the meat for the stew. Of course, now I’m going to have to wiggle things around a lot to find enough room for the stew, but one thing at a time. I think I can manoeuvre some things on the top shelf.
Anyway, even after all that, I decided to run the vacuum cleaner. Not my favourite job, but I’d been putting it off, so since I was apparently feeling it today, I got it done. Honestly, I’d be a lot better with it if the carpet in here wasn’t so awful. Hell, I don’t even want carpet, especially not this off-peach beige monstrosity that clings to fibres and fluff so hard that my mid-range handheld Dyson does nothing. (I especially don’t want it in the damn bathroom, but that’s another thing.) But still, probably better to at least try to deal with the dust.
Now that’s all done and I can actually relax. On one level I’d love to do something fun, but on the other, I kind of want to take a nap. That’s what happens when you wake up earlier than you wanted to and run around being productive for the remaining couple of hours of your morning, I guess.

Filthy Hot Prince
4
Valeria
Drink this.
I’ll take care of you.
Sh, it’s okay, Valeria. Fuck, you’re so hot.
It’s okay, a few more—
I woke up with a gasp. Memories of that night playing in my head. The scent of cheap beers, the stench of smoke, the thick air. Sweat sheeted my body as I sighed, running my hands through my pajamas, feeling the satin bedsheets underneath me. I clutched the pillow and bit my lip when I made sure I had my underwear on.
Thank God.
“You are safe, Valeria,” I muttered to myself. “It has been a decade. You are safe. I am safe. I am okay.”
I laid back on the bed, asking Siri for the time. It was half past midnight. That meant I would meet Khalid in a few hours. Cuddling my pillow, I played his latest interview, falling asleep to his deep voice whispering in my ear, soothing me.
***
I was a little nervous after sending the text to Brandon. Rejecting his idea to meet up for another date.
I reminded myself that I had to do it. I wasn’t attracted to him and after the time at his apartment and his smoking, I couldn’t date him.
The smell of roses wafted in my room, making me smile and relaxing my nerves. Khalid had sent a bouquet of roses that morning, with a letter in Braille for me. I was extremely touched by the gesture, the pads of my fingers moving over the little bumps on the card.
To My Sweet Rose, Valeria,
I hope you are ready to meet me today. If not, don’t worry, I have it all planned. Until then, take care of yourself.
Your Handsome Date,
Khalid
Grinning, I clutched the little card to my chest. I couldn’t wait to meet him.
Mabel helped me pick out a dress as I changed and took my time applying the makeup. When I turned fifteen, every girl in my school was obsessed with makeup, and I had asked Mabel to help me with it. Since then, I had taught myself to use and apply it. I had marked every product with Braille to know what I was using.
Fetching the circular tube with a textured droplet on the packaging, I swirled it open and gently applied the mascara. For the final touch, I took a Dyson air wrap to curl my ginger hair in waves.
“How do I look?” I asked Mabel when she entered my room.
Her lips pressed on my forehead. “Like an angel. Khalid is going to forget he is a Prince after seeing you.”
I chuckled at her and applied light red lipstick at her suggestion. My finger traced the slight bruise on the upper right of my head. Hopefully, it won’t be noticeable.
Pinning the two locks of strands on the crown, I donned a comfortable, elegant dress. It hugged my lithe, tall frame, ending just above my knees. Mabel had commented that the navy dress suited me well and Prince Khalid would propose marriage to me just by the looks.
I sprayed my signature perfume and layered it with other subtle one so it would last longer, the scent of roses and freshly cut grass with a hint of spice.
Now I feel ready.
I felt nerves racking up my body as my driver drove me and Mr Benjamin to Laziz restaurant. It was well known for its luxurious interior and lavish cuisine. The cost of one course dish was more expensive than the heels I wore.
I fidgeted in the car seat, feeling the wooden box. A heavy and very expensive painter set to gift him and apologize for not arriving the day before.
“Will you be okay? Your cane is with you, right?”
I nodded at Mr Benjamin when the car stopped to a halt. “Would you please help me find the table?”
“Of course, my dear.”
Khalid
I glanced around the crowd of the restaurant. Even on a Tuesday evening, it was filled with rich celebrities, employees and couples. I had postponed my visit to Azmia till next week, and although Zain was not happy hearing about the news, he was being extremely nosy. I knew he wanted me to be present and look over the country while he took care of Nasrin, who was five months pregnant. He wanted to spend some time alone with her before the baby shower. Zain and Nasrin deserved it.
I wished to find the deeper love like them, but I knew that no man like me would ever find peace with his demons.
I thought back to the letter I had written for Valeria and internally cringed at my sweet rose.
Who the fuck calls their date a sweet rose?
I was definitely way behind in the dating scene.
Zara had called me the night before. I was more than delighted to see my little sister having the time of her life in Australia. She had been travelling the world, so it wasn’t a surprise that she flew from Sri Lanka to Australia. Her hair was still a shortish pixie, making her cheekbones and pert nose stand out. She was on a beach, her pale skin sun bathing as she asked me if I was having fun.
I had shrugged.
“You need to loosen up, Khalid,” she had said, scrunching her nose at me as if she was disappointed with my answer. “You need to live, brother. You are thirty-two so have fun before your hair turns grey. Ask Zayed to help you.”
Zara had said with a mocking grin, the beauty spot on the corner of her lip, looking adorable, with her hazel eyes gleaming in the sun. I missed her. I told her to keep me and Zain updated on her whereabouts and give us an emergency call if anything else happened.
No one knew where she was except our family. As a royal princess, it was her wish to stay anonymous, travel the world and learn photography. I just hoped she would take care of herself.
I didn’t have the courage to tell her I couldn’t ask Zayed to have fun. How could I have fun when I had taken someone’s life?
I snapped back to reality when the server asked me if I would like to order a bottle of wine. I dismissed him, still drowning in my thoughts about the past when my eyes pinned on the stunning redhead who entered the restaurant with an air of elegance. Hot blood thrummed in my veins as I shamelessly raked my eyes over her body, covered in navy blue.
Lust.
Images of the blue painting flashed in my head the longer I gazed at her. Her long legs were bare beneath the knees, delicate sandal heels donning her ankles. Her glowing skin was as pale as alabaster, her bright copper hair falling in waves around her shoulders, a small smile curving on her pillowy red lips.
My body reacted in a primal way when I noticed someone old, possibly her father, holding her arm. I had never felt that way before.
“Hello, Prince Khalid.”
I stood up, counting the adorable freckles on her nose and cheeks. Cute. I couldn’t wait to kiss them.
“Hello, Valeria.”
Angel. Her face was of an angel.
Even though stunning sunglasses covered her eyes, I could notice her long lashes blinking in my direction. Color red dusting her cheeks as she smiled at me.
Fuck me.
“This is Mr Benjamin,” she introduced the old man by her side.
“Of course,” I replied.
I couldn’t stop staring at her.
“Should I stay, Valeria?”
With a great amount of effort, I managed to look away from her and to the man standing beside her. Benjamin. The man who called himself her father, who had asked me for my intentions. Why was he here with her?
Valeria gave Benjamin a smile. I narrowed my eyes. I wanted to be on the receiving end of that smile. I quickly shook off the ridiculous idea.
I must be going insane.
“I will be okay, thank you, Mr Benjamin.”
I had the urge to step closer to her and shield her from others’ view, protect her. “I will take care of her and drive her back… if Valeria is okay with it. Or my driver can drive her home.”
She turned towards me, her cheeks pink. I took a deep breath to control myself and glared at my shoes. She was too precious to look at.
Fuck. Why am I acting like a teenager with a crush?
“You don’t have to trouble yourself—”
“It’s no trouble at all.” I gave her a brief smile, even though I knew she couldn’t see it. “It would be my honor.”
Benjamin cleared his throat. I glared at him for interrupting us. “I’ll be leaving then. Have a good night, Valeria. Mr Khalid.”
With a nod, he left us alone, standing closer to each other in a crowded restaurant.
Valeria
I forced myself not to lean up and take a long whiff of Khalid’s smoky, woodsy cologne. He smelt nice. Really nice. Something musky and exotic and very male. The kind of nice that would make you nostalgic after a few years and fill you with warmth. It made my stomach churn with an odd feeling. Perhaps it was giddiness.
“I want to apologize for asking you to meet here,” Khalid said, standing beside me.
I turned in the direction of his deep voice tinged with a little English accent.
Hearing an apology from him made me feel weird because his tone told me he wasn’t used to saying sorry to anyone.
Every inch of my body was aware of the closeness between us, the air charged with static electricity, making my nerves hum with anticipation. I could feel him looming over me. Towering me even though I was fairly tall, even in heels.
Before I could open my mouth, he asked me if he could touch me.
Blood rushed to my face, my legs tensing at his smooth question. Did he want to touch me in front of so many people? He was truly a player like those articles I had heard—
“What?” I managed to utter, mentally shaking off the dirty visuals repeating in my head with my naked body sprawled across a table for his full course meal.
I was sure I was red from head to toe.
Khalid cleared his throat. “My guards have cleared the second floor for us if that’s okay with you?”
His guards? Of course, he would have guards. He is a Prince. But he did what? Did he do that for me? Maybe he wanted privacy during our dinner.
Not touch me privately, of course.
I lifted my palm. “Here.”
If it was someone else guiding me, I would ask for their elbow, but not with Khalid. I wanted to hold his hand.
Warm, powerful hand engulfed my hand. I could feel the small tingles when his long fingers held my smaller palm in his larger one. I traced the pads of his fingers absentmindedly, noticing the small callouses from where he might grip his paint brushes for long hours. His hands were not soft as I had imagined a painter’s hand would be. They were calloused, roughened.
I adored it.
He slowly led me to the stairs, aware of my cane in my right hand. He made sure to tell me about the railing, clutching my hand with each stair I climbed. As if he was afraid to make me fall and staying close to make sure I didn’t. I tried hiding my burning face behind the curtain of my hair, but the strands pinned on my scalp didn’t help.
After climbing the stairs, I thanked him.
“No need to thank me. I hope I didn’t trouble you.”
I could sense the hesitation in his rich voice.
“It’s alright, Khalid. It was just a minor headache but my doctor urged me to take a day off.”
Why am I smiling so much? My cheeks hurt, and I wanted to press my cold hands on my face to calm them down.
Khalid
I pulled a chair for her, her subtle feminine perfume wafting in my nose as she sat down, gripping the edge of the table. I tried not to take a whiff of her silky copper hair, which smelt like roses. I had to control myself and not creep her out.
“Can you please bring water for me? Thank you,” Valeria said to the waiter with a warm smile that had his ears turn pink. He poured me a glass of the expensive white wine that I had ordered and excused himself to bring her water.
“You don’t drink wine?”
Her eyes flickered in my direction as she removed the glasses. “No, I don’t like alcohol.”
I swallowed a big gulp. She was my complete opposite.
I could barely take my eyes off of her. They had given her the menu in Braille, the soft pads of her fingers running across it.
My right hand still felt tingles from before. Her hand was smaller than mine and I had to force my eyes on the stairs when she had traced my fingers. I knew she did it mindlessly, but it felt intimate to me. Almost erotic for her to caress my fingers like that.
I wondered how it would feel if she caressed a different, harder part of my anatomy. For the umpteenth time, I had to shuffle in the confines of my pants, remembering her soft touch.
This was a new low for me. Getting turned on by holding hands.
After giving our orders, Valeria looked at me, her voice shy. “I have something for you.”
I watched as she leaned down to open her handbag and pull out a big wooden box with a small red bow.
“This is for not being able to meet you yesterday. I hope these are the ones you like. I didn’t know which one to choose from. I can barely draw a straight stick figure so I apologize beforehand if you don’t like them. So, um, let me know which one to get—”
I took the box from her before she could lose her breath. “Thank you very much, Valeria. But you don’t need to do this for having a medical emergency. I should be the one to get you something.”
She gave me a slow nod, her lips pursed together as she waited expectantly for my reaction. I didn’t want to make her wait and opened the box. My eyes widened when I saw the expensive oil paints in a wooden carved box from a very luxurious brand. It must have cost a pretty penny to gift me this.
“Thank you, Valeria,” I said, my voice a husky whisper as I awed at the colors. I couldn’t wait to try them and feel the texture smoothen underneath the pressure of the paintbrush. “The colors look so vibrant and rich, I can’t wait to paint using them. It’s very thoughtful of you.”
If it was even possible, her cheeks reddened further, a gorgeous smile curving her lips. “You’re welcome, I am glad you like them.”
We were interrupted when the server brought our food. I didn’t tell her that everything cooked was tested healthy and without any poison by my royal taster. My family and I decided that it was a risk to ignore the event of last year when Nasrin, my brother’s wife, was almost poisoned by the food cooked for her.
I watched in awe how easily she maneuvered the different types of spoons and forks as if she remembered how and where everything is placed. I was very impressed.
“You seem close to Benjamin,” I said, wanting to know more about the man who was so protective of her.
Valeria nodded. “He and Mabel are my guardians. My parents, you could say, as they took me in growing up. I was dropped on their foster home when I was a baby.”
I took a sharp breath. I could never understand why someone would ever do that.
“If it’s not too much, can I ask what happened to your sight?” I wanted to know if she could see through a fog or darkness.
Zara’s mother, Isabella, was born blind, and she had a foggy vision. I wanted to know if Valeria did, too.
She took a shaky breath, and I knew it was a hard question. “I lost my sight in a car accident when I was eleven. A truck driver ran past the traffic lights, lost his control and it slammed with our car. The couple who had adopted me a year before that didn’t survive. I hit my head and my world went black. I woke up with corneal blindness.”
I clenched the spoon in my hand, cursing at the circumstances, but I knew better than to blame it all on the circumstances.
“Shouldn’t you get new corneas to treat it?” I knew about it because I often visited charities involved with treating disabled children. After death, eye donors donate their eyes and the donated corneas helps the children with corneal blindness get their sight back.
“Of course. But I would rather have children get their sight back than me. I… I wouldn’t know what I would do when and if I get my sight back.”
The server came back with the main course. The air around us tense and heavy. It was a serious subject, but I couldn’t imagine living without sight for a day. I had tried painting covering my eyes, but it was a terrible process. Not knowing which colors I am using, which colors I am mixing, which lines I am stroking on the canvas.
Valeria broke the silence first. “About the paintings. Does the inspiration really come from suffering and…” She waved her hand, her face turning scarlet.
I smirked, leaning on the table. “Suffering and?”
“You know… the answer that you gave to the interviewer.”
“I don’t remember, Valeria. Suffering and?” I asked again, innocence lacing my voice while my eyes dared her to say the word she was embarrassed to.
Fucking.
“I know you are teasing me,” she grumbled and whispered quickly, “Fucking. Suffering and fucking.”
I grinned, very pleased with her reply. “Not really. I like to make my agent angry and I was bored at the art show, especially with the interview. I said it to piss them off.”
Valeria tilted her head, her red hair sliding over her shoulder and revealing her slender, pale neck. I could see the pulse beating in her neck. Before my filthy thoughts could fill my mind, I looked away.
“I thought every art came from a little of suffering… and intimacy.” She chose her words carefully.
I hummed, taking a sip of wine. “It could, but it also means having fun. It is a lengthy process and despite the efforts, whatever that may be in other’s case, most of the artists are happy when they are creating what they want to make.”
I didn’t tell her that I was an exception. I hadn’t made anything while I was having ‘fun’, I only painted after having sex, heady with alcohol or waking up from nightmares, suffering with the demons of my past.
She bit her lip, my hazel eyes watching the fullness of her bottom lip before she replied. “I understand, Khalid. Like the process of turning a scent into a bottle of glass.”
I took a sharp breath when Valeria gave me a bright smile. If she kept smiling at me like that, I was sure I would fall for her. I placed my hand over my chest, rubbing the material of the shirt to calm my pounding heart underneath.
Wait, fall for her? Where did that come from?
I couldn’t fall for her, I won’t.
But I knew, at that moment, I was lying to myself.
Valeria
I clutched his hand when he helped me down the stairs after we had our dessert. I had asked him which painting was the hardest to paint. Walking out of the restaurant together, I breathed in the fresh air of night.
“Every painting was hardest to do,” he hummed, thinking about his answer. His deep voice making me shiver. “It would be my next painting.”
Why did I sense a hint of smugness in his voice?
“Will you tell me what it’s about?” I asked sweetly, my mind full of curiosity. I couldn’t wait for him to finish the painting and hear Benjamin explain it. Or better yet, hear Khalid explain it to me.
Khalid crooned, his warm breath brushing the shell of my ear. “You would have to try harder than that, Valeria.”
I let out a small laugh and squeezed his hand when he announced his driver was waiting for us. I settled in the warm leather seat of the car and felt Khalid’s presence beside me, closing the door after laying my cane on the side. I told my address to the driver, the car turning on with a smooth purr, and started moving.
“What about Limerence? Was it hard to paint?” It was among his best paintings, after all.
There was a moment of silence before Khalid answered. “No. I finished sketching it in a day and painted it within next two days.”
I could sense the hint of hardness in his voice, which was absent when he talked to me before. My question must have evoked some kind of bad memory to him while he painted Limerence.
Without hesitation, I placed my palm on his hand. Or rather, I wanted to place my palm on his hand to console him but landed on his muscular thigh. Without embarrassing myself further, I said, “I apologize if my question was rude. I was getting too curious.”
Oh, I am curious, alright.
I scolded myself for being so rude while feeling the hot, strong skin underneath the touch of my hand clad in silk pants. I froze when his thigh muscle tensed, and before I could take my hand away, he covered my palm with his.
“You weren’t rude.” He asked, “How do you feel—”
“We have arrived at Miss Valeria’s home, your grace,” the driver interrupted us.
Khalid squeezed my hand. “Come on, I will walk you to your door.”
I led the way, having the path to my house mapped out in my mind. He had asked me about my work, and he seemed impressed when I talked about Delicate Dew. It had a profitable launch two years ago, with doubling profits each month ever since it was launched.
I had a terrible date night because the fragrance I was wearing made me feel uncomfortable. It was supposed to be the best perfume of that year, with a reputable brand, but it didn’t suit my skin. With my business degree, I decided that I would make my brand of perfume for every gender with simple notes to wear every day. Half of the royalties went to fund the fundraiser and charities for disabled people.
“The rosy, delicate perfume that you are wearing right now, is it from your brand?” He asked, the scent of his cologne in the night air making me want to press my face against his chest.
Why does he have to smell so good?
“It is. It lasts for hours.”
“My mom used to wear it that’s why I wanted to talk to you about it at the art show,” he said and I could feel the sadness in his voice. Everyone knew about the death of his mothers, the two Sultanas dying in a plane crash. “The notes have changed, but it made me nostalgic.”
I rubbed my thumb on his pulse. “I layer it with other perfume to match with my body. I found the name of the brand when I was a kid and asked a lady and she was kind enough to give me her own travel size bottle.”
“You are wearing the woodsy notes,” I said. “It suits you.”
“I had to take the suggestion of a beautiful lady,” he said, the vibrations of his voice sending chills over my body. “I would like to invest in your company. Try out some of the perfumes myself.”
I faced him. “You would? But… we just met and you want to offer a partnership to my company?”
When he didn’t reply, I giggled. “You nodded, didn’t you?”
“I… I am so sorry. Yes, I nodded.” Khalid let out a small chuckle, his warm breath caressing the bare skin of my neck.
He continued, “Knowing most of the profit goes to the charities, I know my investments will be in excellent hands. Even the beautiful CEO of the company seems very charming and caring.”
I didn’t reply, our feet coming to a halt in front of the main door of my house. I knew he was looking over the gardens that were mainly handled by Mabel and Mr Benjamin.
“Were you going to ask me about something? Before we arrived?”
“Yes, but it can wait. Goodnight, Valeria. I will see you soon.”
I was not expecting his hot body pressing against me, a pair of warm lips kissing my cheek. I gaped and pressed my fingers to where Khalid had kissed me. My entire body felt like it was about to melt when I heard him walk away.
Not fair. I wanted to kiss him goodnight, too.
Kiss his cheek. Not anything else.
Nothing else.

@xfpornbattle @muldermakesmehorny @cultureisdarkbeer @season4mulder @peacenik0 @today-in-fic (I’m cheating a bit this is Chapter 1.)
#61 Somehow Mulder has to pretend to go down on Scully. He teases her until neither of them can take it anymore.
AO3 version HERE. Or read below.
Inner Sanctum: Shadow Play
The universe is conspiring against him. Mulder is convinced. Scully thinks the same thing - although neither of them voice the thought aloud.
In 6 years working together they’d only been undercover as a couple once. Once is all it took - it seemed now every time they needed a pair of agents to pose undercover Mulder and Scully were called in to assist.
Which is how they found themselves here on assignment with 2 other pairs of agents trying to catch a suspect in a string of home invasions. All the victims were wealthy and all had confessed to visiting this particular establishment.
An establishment that catered to specific vises. The outer business, the Inner Sanctum, was a high class cocktail bar. The right amount of power and money would get you through the secret door and into the real business.
Fantasies. Sex…. Shadow Play.
All the victims had come from this rented room. In the middle of was a circular stage the props interchanged as needed for each fantasy. It was simple this time a bed, a chaise lounge, dresser, an antique looking vanity, with an oval mirror and stool, nightstand - a typical bedroom.
Some type of glass door system and a curtain on a track would allow for the Shadows of those within to be seen by the voyeur or voyeurs watching without. Chairs, lounges, sofas, tables were spread throughout the rest of the room. All with padded wrist restraints. This room was for instructing the Shadowplayer and then watching, listening to the performance without being able to touch.
Mulder could relate he’d held the object of his affection in his arms many times. Kissed her forehead, her cheek - he tried to kiss her once in his hallway - fate in the form of a Bee. What are the odds of that? Some would call it fate. Even he thought that for a while.
He rescued the girl and himself if he was honest, without her… could he have went on? Attempts to push her away after that were unsuccessful. She’d taken his hand that day and told him ‘if I quit now they win.’
Really not fair to repeat his own words back at him. But that was Scully. Diana had strolled back in and if he was honest - it hurt that Scully even thought he wanted to rekindle anything with her. Especially after kissing her doppelganger and telling her the words he had been so good at keeping locked away in his heart.
I love you and oh brother as a response was not what he expected. Whey were all these thoughts rolling in his head now before this important stakeout? Maybe it’s because they were all just informed they would have to act out whatever the customer wants - no matter what.
Or maybe it’s because Scully and the other 2 female FBI agents just walked out in their ‘costumes.’ Scully locked eyes with him almost daring him to look anywhere else. It was too late he’d been tracking her movements the moment she stepped into the room.
While he and the other male agents were all dressed similarly in t-shirts and jeans the female agents were dressed for their part - the bored housewife who calls for a repair man. Dressed for seduction and Scully was in black lace.
How was he going to survive this assignment? Mulder could feel the moisture rise to the surface of his skin. He barely resisted the urge to wipe his brow. Was the room suddenly too hot? Was his blood boiling? No it was Scully fantasy #5 and it was live in front of his eyes. To be honest black lace wasn’t a requirement Scully in any color lace would be a turn on.
Correction … Is a turn on - there’s an undeniable thickening beneath his denim. Shit.
Mulder glanced at the other agents he noticed he wasn’t the only one fidgeting. Scully finally arrived at his side and he resisted the urge to offer her his coat when he saw her shiver. That fact he wasn’t wearing a coat was beside the point.
“Are you okay?” he asked softly.
She stared straight ahead and responded, “I’m fine. Let’s just get this over with. Hopefully one of the other pairs of agents will be chosen.”
No such luck. The universe was dead set on wrecking havoc on Mulder and Scully’s lives.
The client’s came in a couple, they sat down and an attendant locked their restraints. It was like a private production.
“Welcome to Shadow Play. You know the rules choose your couple and once they enter the Shadow Stage they will follow your instructions. They are your puppets and you are the puppet masters.” The attendant paced before the couples and with a flourish of his hand he spoke.
“Choose the lady of play.”
The man was tall with closely cropped blonde hair and a neatly trimmed beard and mustache. His voice was a deep bass with a slight English or Australian accent when he spoke, “The little one - the redhead. Darling do you like her?”
His feminine counterpart nodded, “Oh yes she’ll be perfect.” With her husky alto it sounded more like purr-fect.
The attendant nodded to Scully, “Please enter the chamber and the other ladies may exit.”
Mulder saw the deep breath Scully took and his hand automatically went to her back as she walked around him and they started into the chamber. He was brought to a halt with the attendants next words.
“Now who do you chose for lord of the play?”
Wait. What?
Scully paused and then continued on her way - her shoulders had slumped for a moment and then firmed with resignation. This wasn’t the prearranged plan and his eyes narrowed. There was no way anyone, but him was going in there with Scully. Plan or not.
The three men stood still. Mulder felt like chatel - did the other agents feel the same he wondered.
“Darling? Don’t you want the one in the middle? His hair is the same color as mine?”
“He is quite striking, but he doesn’t hold a candle to you. I won’t be able to see their hair color behind the curtain anyway…. I don’t know how can I decide when they are clothed. I need to see their cocks.”
The attendant cleared his throat, “That is not part of the rules, everything happens in shadow.”
“Fuck the rules MAN, my wife wants to see their cocks and I’ve paid for our time. In fact bring Red back out give them some inspiration… I know I’m inspired.” His erection was clearing outlined by the navy trousers he wore and his wife licked her lips feeling her own body responding.
The attendant was clearly ruffled, Mulder noted the fact and filed it away. Scully stepped back out every eye was one her. Creamy skin dusted with the faintest of freckles she stood unafraid and comfortable in her own skin.
“Drop the straps luv, give the gents something to wonder about. I see firm high breasts a perfect handful - are those nips pink like a kitten's tongue, peachy like a succulent apricot? Or dark rose like the juicy flesh of a woman’s cunt?”
Scully reached up and slid first one strap and then the other, until they draped like a piece of black licorice he wanted to gnaw through. And he didn’t even like black licorice, red - cherry flavor yes. That didn’t help his growing problem thinking about Scully in red.
“Okay c’mon gents don’t be shy we all know why we’re here. Whip out your equipment my wife wants to see your packages. We’ve all got ‘em. If my hands were free I’d whip mine out right now. Wouldn't I darling? You'd suck me off right here on your knees. Yes my pet sucks like a Dyson.”
"Do you like bush, men? My pet has a nice little bush just enough that it tickles my lips when I'm eating my fill of pussy."
Both agents Barber and Kinney unzipped their flys and exposed themselves. Scully didn’t react. She was aloof, waiting for the partner the clients would choose. Could she do it - if it wasn’t Mulder? If it was Agent Barber or Kinney?
Ooo those are some lovely cocks. Are those boxers or tighty whities I see … it's sort of like they’re popping out of a little fabric nest, like a bird. Not very lively though… Are you two cold?” The woman laughed and her husband chuckled along and then her gaze fixated on Mulder. “How about you? Are you cold too? You can’t be shy or you wouldn’t be here. Honey if he won’t show me his cock tell him to leave. I’ll just choose one of the others.”
“You heard my wife. If you don’t show us your cock get the fuck out. Do you have a teeny weenie, perhaps?” He picked up on the quick eye contact between Mulder and Scully and a wide smile formed. “Or do you just need a little help? Hey Red, why don’t you help him out.”
Scully took a step toward Mulder. “No!” then quieter, “No, I’ll do it.”
Mulder closed his eyes. How could he forget today of all days? He’d bought these button fly jeans on a whim and his hands were working the buttons through the tightly stitched holes until …
“Holy Mother of God! Get out! The rest of you get out! He’s the one…. Honey? Tell them to leave!”
“You cretins heard my wife. Get out.” The room cleared of all but the main players. “Good God Man! I consider myself well-endowed, but Holy Shite! How do you keep that monster under control? And commando to boot.”
“I think my wifes glazed over eyes means you two meet with her complete approval. Let’s get this show on the road. Into the chamber you two. My first request is for you to suck those titties… I’ll tell you when to stop… use the chaise please.”
Mulder followed Scully into the chamber the door snicked shut, the curtains closed with a swish and the lights dimmed. Scully reclined on the chaise and Mulder gingerly sat beside her. Could they pull this off?
“C’mon man speed it up suck her tits and describe them… we want to hear about those ripe tips… make her moan … make her wet for you.”
Mulder dropped his head, nose and lips nuzzled her neck. Traveled down. Skimmed across the slope of each breast. God, Scully you smell so good. There was a hitch in her breath. Did he say that out loud?
“Hey, Supercock! This isn’t love’s unfolding flower or some teenage romance. I don’t hear any sucking or slurping and we damn well aren’t hearing any moaning Reds or yours. Get on with it.”
Mulder wished the guy would just shut the hell up. He was trying to make this look real, but not be real. But she was so soft and smelled so delicious… He was only human dammit.
And then Scully let out a throaty moan. Uh-oh. His mouth released the nipple he had been sucking, the lace and silk damp. Her nipples were clearly delineated, hard, he wasn’t sure how long he’d been sucking but his mouth and lips felt the loss.
“More…Mu…” Before she could say his name his hands cupped her breasts and his lips went back to feasting.

Okay, I am impressed. For some reason I was expecting the Carole & Tuesday stream to be fairly short, but that was a 2-plus hour, wall-to-wall concert, and the performers were fantastic. (Lauren Dyson, dubbed by chat as Space Beyoncé, was especially good live. Long live Space Beyoncé.) The voice actors were lovely, too. And it’s amazing that a one-season-and-done anime could contain so much original music that they put on that much of a show and there were still plenty of songs that they didn’t have time to get to. What a production.
And now, for a total change of pace, to watch the Acquisitions Inc. stream from PAX South!

1x08 - Vexed
Original Air Date: November 7, 2010
Written by: Michelle Lovretta
Directed by: John Fawcett
Okay, so. Vexed.
This is the original pilot. I don’t think they necessarily presented it as the first episode chronologically—more like, this is what you can expect from our show. Showcase picked it up and it went to series. Vexed became episode 1x08. You can find more info about it in this interview with Michelle Lovretta and Jay Firestone.
Anyway, this episode was shot earlier than the rest, and you can tell. Makeup and styling is different, and they hadn’t quite settled on the tone they eventually went with. As such, this episode is a bit grittier than normal. I find it interesting both for its different tone and for the fact that many of the decisions they made for the episode were made in the interest of selling the concept to Showcase.
This fucking article is great and is a much better review of this episode and why it’s so god damn good than my shit below. It also provides an extremely detailed look into...exactly what I just described above. All of the behind-the-scenes production stuff. Check it out.
The premise: Bo finds a lead on someone who might know about her mother--a falsely accused death row inmate named Lou Ann. Bo vows to prove her innocence in exchange for answers, but her quest leads her into contact with a vicious Dark Fae named Vex.
I do wonder if they wrote this episode without really knowing where it was going to fit into the first season, assuming they had an outline. It works as a standalone and in some ways it feels a little disjointed from what came before in episode 1x07, right from the beginning. Dyson coming right out and saying something so blunt as, “She’s never gonna love you,” feels a bit off to me. But then again, all the characters in this episode are a bit “off,” which is understandable. This episode is like…the prototype. The beta.
“No offense to my own kind, but humans are a little pedestrian now.” *awkwardly laughs* Right... “your kind”…haha you’re enslaved. Lauren are you okay.
“Once you go Fae you never go back, huh?”
“So I hear.”
Me:
Bo feels a little bit more aggressive to me in this episode, like when Siegfried mentions her mother and she wigs out. It’s her normal desperation plus a bit of added homicidal urges. She’s a slightly grittier Bo.
As we can observe from the opening sex scene between Bo and Dyson, this episode is a bit more sexually explicit than we’re used to. This, I am not super a fan of on a personal level. However, the episode is also more violent than usual and incorporates horror elements. This, I am super a fan of because that’s kind of my shit, and it’s something I wish they would have leaned a little bit more into in the rest of the series.
There is nothing I don’t love about this scene. The creepy opera music that sets the stage, the gourmet meal prep (those gourmet meals always end in murder).
(Am I the only one who loves this random little detail they plopped into the background?)
Vex’s entrance—not overly dramatic, just, boop, there he is.
The tense build-up as we’re drawn to the knife, not sure where it’s gonna go—
--oh, oop, there it goes.
We know what’s going to happen now, but we build up to it, agonizingly, anyway. Surely we’re not actually going to sit here and watch as he shoves his hand into the disposal and then keep watching as he turns it on and it grinds his hand up. Oh, but we are.
Some scenes have a way of sticking with ya.
So I guess even the Lost Girl universe isn’t all camp and games. People are still people. Especially when they’re ancient as fuck and have all that time to stew in the cesspool of their fucked up emotional and psychological issues. So divorced are they from the concept of mortality, growing up and growing old, that their maturity level laps itself and becomes immaturity—they tend to to behave like children.
Not all Dark Fae are curmudgeonly, innocuous old grandpas who own restaurants or absolute Queens like the Morrigan. Some of them are like Vex. And just like, fuckin murder people—and each other. Vex’s world is different than Bo’s world. Vex lives in a world where violence is mundane. Empathy is nonexistent and pointless anyhow. Sometimes I wonder if immortal characters are drawn to violence and death because it’s as close as they can get to experiencing a sort of vicarious mortality.
I love Vex’s character throughout the series—up to a certain point—but I love him best in this, his original episode. In later episodes, Vex is portrayed as a sort of morally ambiguous anti-hero, or anti-villain, whichever you prefer. I have mixed feelings on how well the transition from villain to anti-hero is handled. The farther along you get in the series, the more he becomes reduced to a shell of his former self, purely comic relief, and just…sucks.
But in 1x08, Vex is a villain. Straight up. The things that he does are horrifying and the show does not bother trying to get you to empathize with him. And to be clear, this does not mean that he is not a multi-dimensional character, that he isn’t worthy of empathy, or that he is pure evil. What it does mean is the show does something I wish more shows would do. It creates a genuinely threatening and reprehensible villain that is both worthy of your analysis, even your stanning (I stan), and yet whose actions are still inexcusable.
In that interest, let’s talk about him. At this point, his most defining characteristic, the simplest way we can begin to understand his motives, is that he utterly lacks empathy. Vex is the kind of person who would puppeteer a woman and force her to drown her own children.
He is ordered to kill this woman’s family as punishment for betraying the Dark Fae’s rules. And in this episode, Vex is shown to be someone who rigidly follows the Dark Fae’s orders without question, and without any particular investment in them either. But he doesn’t just kill the kids—he uses his powers to force the mother to do it. To drown them. For no real reason other than his own amusement. That’s another level of sadistic. For a less intense example, in his introduction scene, he gruesomely tortures Siegfried before killing him. Just for funsies. (Well, okay, and to get information.) Vex lacks empathy, clearly, and may scan as a sociopath, but he’s not a stoic one. He gets enjoyment out of tormenting his victims.
Is this the kind of guy the writers are going to try to later convince us is a harmless comic relief mascot? Surely n—
Yes. Yes he is.
I am not at all opposed to the idea of Vex slowly becoming a morally ambiguous anti-villain, even a member of the gang. In fact, I think that premise is interesting as hell. But what I feel like happens later is that the show kind of forgets that Vex did all this horrible shit in the past. Kinda brushes it under the rug. Not only does this make it a lot harder for me to get behind him becoming one of the gang, it also does the character himself a great disservice. I’ll probably get into this more once Vex starts showing up more frequently, and why I feel the writers mishandle him.
To be clear, in spite of how sadistic he is, Vex is not a malicious person. He doesn’t have any enmity for the people he’s ordered to kill. He’s not angry, not hateful, not spiteful. He just doesn’t really care. He’s almost a kind of nihilist. None of it really matters. Somebody who thinks like that would have a fairly breezy time killing people.
Because I like when in-universe politics make things complicated, I like that the in-universe politics of the Light and Dark Fae makes things complicated. Bo wants to free Lou Ann, and she wants the Light Fae’s help, but they can’t help her because it would mean basically declaring war on the Dark Fae. MAJOR no-no. Likewise, they can’t go after Vex because all of his actions are sanctioned by the Dark Fae’s government. Bo’s unalignment gives her freedom, but it’s not without its downsides. She has no influence and no resources when things get too big for her to handle.
“Smells like fried bitch.” An icon. If I remember correctly from one of the behind-the-scenes features, they brainstormed and tested out a bunch of different one-liners to use for this moment, until Ksenia Solo ad-libbed this.
Lol. Kenzi is just so done with Bo and Dyson’s drama.
Lou Ann, the Fae woman who is on death row for killing her kids, obviously strikes a nerve with Bo.
It’s kinda weird, because when we first meet her, Bo’s main motivation is that she wants to be able to live her life without being forced to kill others and stay on the run to do so. Those problems kinda get solved in the first episode.
Since then, her motivation has been to live her life without these big mysterious Fae governments telling her what to do. In the first episode, Bo, like Lou Ann, says that she chooses humans. Bo was raised human and wants a normal human life, or as normal as she can get. At the same time, most of the other characters on the show, including her friends, spend a lot of time trying to convince her to embrace her Fae identity and a Fae lifestyle, because it’s “who she is” and she has no choice but to embrace that. “Choice” is a keyword that gets thrown around a lot in this show. But what is the show really trying to say about it? There’s some kind of nature vs. nurture conflict going on here, and I don’t feel like either Bo or the show itself has really decided on which side of the line they fall. On another note, this show has huge Fuck the System vibes. Which I appreciate. We stan an icon who chooses to reject a static, repressive, harmful system even at great personal cost.
A few episodes ago, Bo and Lauren went on a mission together and cemented their bond of trust. In this scene, Lauren breaks that trust.
She sleeps with Bo to distract her from going after Vex, under the pretense that it is simply the culmination of them both being attracted to one another. The next morning, it doesn’t take long for Bo to figure this out. She is appropriately hurt. She has feelings for Lauren, there was an intimacy there, and she trusted her in a way that she doesn’t normally trust other people, because of her past. Lauren took advantage of her feelings and used her. Whether Lauren wanted to do it or not, whether she had any way of refusing, isn’t relevant in this moment; it was cruel regardless.
But what does Lauren say?
“I haven’t done anything wrong.”
Oop. There it is. There’s the Lauren I remember.
She hasn’t done anything wrong, y’all. Well, I’ll be damned. Lauren never did anything wrong ever in her life. *Lauren did nothing wrong meme*
The way Lauren says this line, with so much conviction, makes me feel like she genuinely believes it. She believes that she did nothing wrong. She is legitimately deluded about what just happened.
This is only the first in what I remember to be a very long string of instances where Lauren pushes blame onto others and denies any culpability in her shitty actions. At least, in this case, Bo isn’t buying it.
Waiting for Bo in the most extra-ass, goth, flamboyant setup possible is exactly the kind of quality villainy I expect from Vex.
It’s criminal that Bo never gets to use this awesome sword.
And…I love that Vex just gets to walk out of there, laughing. Because the system. And he’s not even really evil. He’s just a sadistic asshole. With a job. It’s. *chef’s kiss*

Vitamin C Skin Care
Anti–Ageing And Skincare Made Easy
Vitamin C Skin Care – The Challenge
Vitamin C is often regarded as a wrinkle fighter or an anti-aging agent. The main objective of ‘Vitamin C skin care’, in scientific terms, is to increase the synthesis of collagen (a structural protein that is found in skin). The additional benefit of ‘Vitamin C skin care’ is related to its capability of countering free radicals which cause damage to the skin. Vitamin C skin care, however, faces a major challenge today. This is related to the oxidation tendency of Vitamin C skin care products. On coming in contact with any oxidizing agent (e.g. air), the Vitamin C in the Vitamin C skin care products, gets oxidized; thus making the Vitamin C skin care product useless (in fact counter-effective). The oxidized Vitamin C imparts a yellowish-brown color to the Vitamin C skin care product. This is something that you need to check before buying a Vitamin C skin care product. Even after you buy a Vitamin C skin care product, you need to store it properly and keep checking that it’s still good to use (i.e. it hasn’t attained a yellowish-brown texture). The manufacturers of Vitamin C skin care products have tried to deal with this (oxidation) problem in multiple ways (and research on Vitamin C skin care products is on the top of their list). One such method of retaining effectiveness of Vitamin C skin care products for a long term is to keep a high concentration (say 10%) of Vitamin C. However, this makes the Vitamin C skin care products even more expensive. The Vitamin C skin care products are already pretty inexpensive and making them even more expensive will throw the product manufacturers out of business. The other way is to use Vitamin C derivatives (like ascorbyl palmitate and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate). These are not only more stable but also inexpensive. Even though the derivatives based products are not as effective as the Vitamin C skin care products, their stability against oxidation is a very desirable feature that makes them very attractive. Moreover, these are known to be less irritating too. Talking of effectiveness of Vitamin C skin care products, it’s important to mention that not everyone responds to Vitamin C treatments. So it’s not a magic potion in any way. If you don’t see a noticeable difference in your skin, it might be because of your skin not responding to Vitamin C treatment (and the Vitamin C skin care products might not be at fault, at all). As more research goes on, one can only keep our fingers crossed and wait for a complete solution to the challenges faced by ‘Vitamin C skin care’ today. Vitamin C Skincare | Dermatologist Review
Vitamin C Skincare
I they definitely brought to the front less than mythologist... ▼ I they definitely brought to the front less than mythologist today we'll be talking about vitamin C or l-ascorbic acid now if you've seen my previous reviews I've reviewed a lot of environment as these alpha hydroxy acids also I've done the review on salicylic acid as well as a few other skin ingredients why do I leave vitamin C to last well state right and I'll show you why now the main thing about vitamin C is that it can be stinging so they can't hang cause irritation and in the scheme of things when you're looking at the environment in the skin will be a for basically retinol being nice and light in C which is ascorbic acid and also vitamin E which is tocopherol which is basically a antioxidant what most dermatologists do is they easily start patients in the area because of solid science B because Dyson light is inflammatory E is a benign trickling that the words were won't usually cause Iraq but the violin see you've got to use it in caution now as you go find in C can be derived from many things including your diet yeah so things like fruit vegetables green vegetables they all contain high amounts of vitamin C the flip side over is that there are no control studies in regards to supplementary volunteen that was taken orally in how good it is for the skin realistically even though pregnancies absorb it is used up very quickly in skin because it's in antioxidant now what does vitamin C doing how they actually use it well one can see in color pigmentation and in the darkness you can also help with collagen formation including as an antioxidant that also stimulate because collagen and elastin can also be in so let's talk about the first bit which is a pigmentation so if your contagion if I can see you can use it as a spot treatment yes basically at ten to fifteen to twenty percent Ellis called Agustin and you can put the spot however with the shown that the vibrancy is actually best using combination so we combine things for example Alice called the data can be an oxygen antioxidant of her stabilizers other molecules for example vitamin E you stimulate more like the need to produce in your skin cells and also it can help with other forms of his chemicals for example we often frequency from and see in things like hydroquinone because as an antioxidant it stabilizes the lab right one can see also best combined with alpha hydroxy acids as well as other active cosmeceuticals including for really gassy now in reductive pigmentation it's fully I would say one of the last things didn't always useful pigmentation the reason things have been far more effective treatments for example piper known as an example in well things like licorice chemicals from plants for example have been I guess shown to be very effective compared the vitamin C above an A which is written all the retinal it's also very effective in pigmentation how a compartment see the signs of it is absolutely sketchy I think most dermatologists agree I remember watching dr. Dre Dre Dre she agrees this anger the the studies out there is not robust compared to things where I could bother now that's why I've listed this video until right at the end I've reviewed many skin products but yeah this guy's right at the end so we talked about pigmentation and certainly can use l-ascorbic acid 10 to 20 percent in spots of pigmentation best combined the second thing we can do is actually use that for anti-aging effects yes so we can actually eat on the skin can help with cases for example like wrinkles and as an antioxidant so once again you know the sides and that's not great that there's a few articles in regards to that but most people will agree it's best in combination so dermatologist often combined the vitamin C lover so in a another base yeah in the context of why we've done I guess advised by the tea for everyone it's kind of easy because the bioavailability abundancy topically is better than acidic environment yes or a relative acid in this situation what we're going to do is get the compound between pH of 2 to 2.5 now if you have any sensitive skin or sensitive skin conditions such as dermatitis eczema seborrhoeic dermatitis of metabolic rosacea in is basically skin science suicide if you preach violence II on sensitive skin because the low pH will cause irritation so if the argument is abundance you use that last year and you might want to try Logan's impression first today I'll be reviewing the ordinary but by no means zero above I guess more cosmetically elegant the preparations at different concentrations so there many companies including neostrada and thereby doing which provides l-ascorbic acid 10% and then you can graduate from 10 to 15 in 15 to 20 if you so desire so yeah I guess that's finally see in a nutshell yes it applies with pregnancy is number one it's safe yes so this many volunteers can use for many years in apart from the skin of attachment extremely safe now unless it's more cost-effective so in for example 10 years ago to be much more expensive now they're formulated I guess formulated concentration of violence you which are more stable yeah and the stability is variable because violence he can get degraded with UV light and also with hip because it's an antioxidant so the container has to be light proof and they approved regards the vitamin C I guess the cons major Konig volunteer love is it several times the skin irritation so if you do want to try this like I I guess advice for all patients you take a tiny bit into a test spot and I've example in front of your ear if you can if you you're okay with that the next night you might go for your forehead if you're okay with that definitely cheeks I wouldn't I guess if you have skin irritation skin sensitivity which is very common probably about 40 to 60 percent patients usually have a history as concerns entities I would not just put it on like that trial like I said guys that's common see now I could give a specific pregnancy and the dat explore so today I'll be reviewing the ordinary once again reason why I actually review this this is simple yet so if you want to go into vibrancy and you don't want to spend for example seventy eighty dollars on a and they're really high in vitamin C let's say from a bad dream medicate or aspect of them and this is something like this is for below $15 you can try it and don't like it down it's 15 bucks give it to your siblings give it to you and that big of a deal but you can't really go wrong with this year if you can tolerate this then sure you might want to increase concentrations from other skincare companies so let's talk about the ordinary we talk about skin science yes there are isolated studies which show you in the oxygen effects and that the I guess inhibition that tourists and ice which is the people are producing enzyme in your skin and also the anti-aging antioxidant effects but the studies are great compared to something like a vitamin A you have or even sunscreen so for that the skin side I've given a four out of five year because even though they're not robust studies I think it's very hard to actually do isolates that he's especially vitamin C because it's the sensitivities like I mentioned so four out of five for skin science the second thing we're going to talk about is ease of use yes but there's something that two out of five because I do think that you know starting on in a score big acid is rather tricky and remember it's not like sunscreen or moisturizer a cleanser you most people shouldn't just lather along see what happens because if you've fallen that's sensitive skin category will burn it'll sting and it may take your skin even a couple of steps back right so I do things very tricky to use and as I've pointed out tsch patch using one area increases tolerated and if you do have any problems with it you can actually use something like a moisturizer both before and after moisturizer if you have the right I guess base yeah okay so two out of five and regards to how easy is to you know the third category of over illustrated in this dad's cause compatibility is this compatible with with other active the regular is not going to another fibers because once again skin irritation actually yeah I can have to use this as we mentioned in the pH of between 2 to 2.5 so the good companies such as alpha cervicals will make or cosmeceuticals would actually make a vitamin C with the very acidic on with a very acidic concentration so I think it is it should be a cabinet if you don't have sensitive skin and if you're not using things like you know potential reasons such as retinoids or original so I can compatibility is an issue certainly if it's compounded it is compatible with other chemicals for example like I've mentioned with hydroquinone or with glycolic acid is compatible there but that's compounded so if you actually get use abundancy to stand the work and try to incorporate into your skin care routine skin care regimen I think it's a little bit tricky and once again comparing that for example uses a moisturizer use of the sunscreen okay so I've given that two out of five and I go to that movie so number four regards to moderate is the subjective feel and in this preparation from the ordinary I've given the five dollar five because it actually feels very nice the other thing I can pick is the is the the smell yeah so it does notice that tiny bit but the smell usually goes within about two or three minutes the way that compounded this for the order in which is basically vitamin C restore its suspension 23 percent plus hi Lana glasses in the Korean base so looking at this I particularly like the cream competitors serum but once again that's only a subjective point of view packaging so when we talk about packaging I think they've done a really good job with packaged media because you can see the most important thing of too many important things in restaurant scene number one it's airtight because it's an antioxidant so that many there type of this number two the container is actually okay because well they're protected from light so as with all the ordinary products it's just a simple box yeah together with this yes it's not tamper proof but you know for what you're paying for this I think is okay so packaging is as always for the ordinary 505 once again with the author you can't go wrong because someone like this is going to set you back realistically fifteen dollars or under yeah so obviously five out of five if you're looking at more competitive brand in all basically all cosmetic companies will have one particular thing elation of other team in the good companies example of that you may have three formulations where it starts with the ten it goes all the way up to twenty so you know you're paying a lot more for those because you know it's a it's a big company your paper yeah for this yep literally five out of five said to give it a dash My review of the first 12 episodes of the anime Carole and Tuesday, the English dubbed version, currently on Netflix.
-
Mumble Jumble Transcription:
Hi, this is K.S. Garner and you’re listening to the Solo Nerd Bird Podcast and today I want to talk about Carole and Tuesday, the first twelve episodes that are on Netflix, currently. [This is] part one of the [review] since there’s only twelve episodesI believe as of today September 26th of 2019 is only 23 episodes it maybe 24, I'm not sure as of right now so we’ll jump straight into the Introduction which is actually the production of the show just to give everybody their credit so no one gets upset with me.
So the original story was created by Shinichiro Watanabe, the same creator of Samurai Champool, Space Dandy and my personal favorite Space Cowboy. Like I have the ship, I can't name it right now but I have it [tattooed] on me right now and I’m thinking about getting another one I'm not really sure yet. So it was produced by Bones Studio which they've also done Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100 just to name a few and the music is by flyingDog Studios or Productions I’m not really sure what they will go by and it was founded in 1997 and if you ever Google flying dog the studio or Productions that does music it’s actually stylized as a lowercase ‘f’ and a capital ‘D’ all one word. Yeah, it took me awhile to actually find it. But like I said, Netflix is airing Carole and Tuesday and they bought the international distribution rights to it and so they're airing the English dubbed version of it and they aired it August 30th of 2019 but the original show in his native Japanese Ashley are April 10th of 2019 like I said we're sticking to the American or English dub version currently on Netflix.
So, let’s get straight into it. Who are Carole and Tuesday. So I'm going to recite the blurb that's on of their official website which is, ‘A chance meeting brings them together. They want to sing. They want to make music. Together they feel like they might just have a chance.’ Carole herself she is, I guess you can say the African-American, I'm not sure if she was even American but she talks with an American accent she's the African-American character on the show she's an orphan works odd part time jobs to make ends meet while living in her landlord's former storage unit. Tuesday, obviously if Carol was the black girl Tuesday is the white girl who’s family considers her to be lazy, unmotivated, with no aspirations in life other than to create and play music. So they both meet on this bridge, like Carol just got fired from one of her odd part time jobs again and being on this bridge while playing her piano and Tuesday’s just captivated by this girl and they all girls, they’re both teenagers in America they’re both still minors. Anyway, they are girls so I'm going to be referring to them as girls or maybe ladies or women but they are technically still anyway when they both me on the bridge. Like I said Tuesday's just captivated by Carole while she’s playing her piano but then they get run off byt security because they’re not supposed to be playing on the bridge. But they meet back up at Carole’s apartment and they just start exchanging their vastly different upbringings, right, and it's just, this is just the beginning of this very beautiful, loyal friendship and quote on quote “the driving force behind the Miraculous 7 Minutes. There’s just visions of the miraculous 7 Minutes in the beginning of every episode. it's like Gus who’s actually their manager, you'll get to see where he comes into play maybe what I want to say about the second, the second episode, it's not a spoiler, I promise. But he comes into play and he describes, you know,it was this miraculous time it those 7 minutes and you know we'll get into that part but right now we have to go all the way back to how they met and how I met them and how we got to this point, right.
In my opinion, this whole thing would be my opinion so in my opinion, as of right now I love this show. The World building combined with past but the ever so relevant pop culture in music from Earth to the current lifestyle and environment on Mars has Shinichiro written all over it just like I said I'm getting a lot of Cowboy Bebop feels I'm actually getting a lot of Steven Universe feels too which is probably why I really like this show. It has those musical elements I think combined with the action adventure and the loyalty of the friendship and friendship is tested at some point not even at some point like throughout these 12 episodes, the first twelve episodes and if this is what it is in the first twelve episodes I wonder what they’re going to do in the next 12 right.
The Musical part, like I said just give me a lot of Steven Universe feels. I'm not really big into musicals as I would like to be but this is definitely, you're scratching the surface of musicals so the musical part, there’s supposed to be a soundtrack release it actually just got pushed back there was a post on their Instagram page that is going to be pushed back I think like maybe another month but there is no official release date. I personally don't skip into the next episodes like you wouldn't, like with other shows you just skip right into it instead of waiting for it to count down for a bathroom break like I don't need a bathroom break. These episodes are only like 20 minutes long if you just skip straight into it. I don't even bother doing that. The opening sequence, the opening theme song just me and the closing theme song “Hold Me Down”, I mean, “Hold Me Now” I sorry. They’re super, super catchy and I find myself…
[horrendous singing]
I can't wait for the soundtrack I'm going to be going to get in my car I just I can't wait anyway the main vocalist are as follows Carole is played by I believe you pronounce her name is Nai Bri.XX Tuesday by Celeina Ann. I believe her name is Alisa, she voices Angela, she’s like their musical rival. You have Crystal who’s voiced by Lauren Dyson and Skip was played by the musician Thundercat. I don’t think I ever heard of that before Thundercat before this show but I'm definitely following him now and I'm definitely getting a lot of Thundercat in Skips cuz at first I thought okay Skips is kind of like a muscular Childish Gambino who doesn't rap. He just kind of like does all the singing parts and he plays an electrical guitar. But once I looked up Thundercat and his music, I was like, okay, was this character actually made for Thundercat. I'm getting a lot of Thundercat in Skips, Skip. Skips is from Regular Show, not to be confused. But then again he's the one that probably wrote the songs so it makes a lot more sense. And then with Crystal she's like the Beyonce of Mars. Beyonce has transcended onto Mars and this is what it is, you know. So I just, that's what I'm getting with them. Like I said before I even found out about Thundercat, I was referring to him like a Childish Gambino even like Pharrell again that doesn't rap he just does all the singing parts and he plays the guitar like maybe [coughs] excuse me, like Lenny Kravitz. I only picked those artists cause those are the ones that I like, come straight to mind for me they just happened to be black artists. I think I picked black artists because Skip is black (??) but you can watch, just go and watch the show. I highly recommend watching it that's why I'm doing this for you. Highly recommend you watch it and it's alright.
So there’s another part of the show that made me a little bit hesitant with watching it. It was the fact that Carole, the black girl is African American or black like I just said and she's one of the title characters. I was kind of afraid of how they were going to portray her, like she has dreadlocks and she's not Bohemian but she kind of skips to her own beat. And I like, erm, I kinda wonder how they’re going to do this but there is no type of racial prejudice on this show I guess because it’s the martial environment is on its humans and AI with or like robots whatever you want to call them. That's pretty much it on this show. It’s not like humans and a variety of creatures like on Star Trek or Star Wars, you know, living together anything like that it's just humans and AI. But I, from what I can see there’s no real prejudices. I mean, there’s gender that comes into play, like the scale of gender that varies or that could possibly very. I don't want to touch too much on that because then that would be a spoiler and we don't do spoilers, no we do not! But like I said, they did a really good job. There was at one-point where there was like, like a gangster rapper or that he was going to try to do something like that but then it was like the exact opposite. That's what I was hoping for and that's exactly what they did. He did the exact opposite of what he physically, what he visually look like, what he tried to portray himself because I'm pretty sure other people of color other black people specifically since the title character is black can relate to this about how they'll watch something that they're interested in but then they get into it and the characters being betrayed as one of those stereotypes. You know big lipped, overly sexualized, lazy, pipe smoking, hip-hop loving & ghetto fab, baggy clothed; co-worker, mistress, hobo or a dangerous person that the protagonist is told to avoid at all times or you see them, cross the street every chance you get but thankfully this isn't it.
Shinichiro roll portrays Carole as strong-willed, self-sufficient, optimistic, silly and resourceful even from her lack of connections money from a familial network. She isn't bitter, she isn't jaded by being, I guess, being left behind of our family. She's been unable to find a way to get by and live her own life and pretty much define herself. She doesn't throw Tuesday up, Tuesday's up bringing back at her face, like, oh you come from money hey can, I can I get some, you know and you can't do nothing so you might as well on back home like I haven't really no need for you. Whereas Tuesday's ignorant of the world around her and is easily compromised, Carole count steps in I don't even think as a big sister, I kind of see them as equals in a way but Carole shows Tuesday that independence and confidence in herself can bring more competency... competency into her life than the abundance of wealth and connections through her family could ever for her. Like this, this is so much better like with or without money if you're confident in yourself if you understand you know...how to wash your own clothes, how to cook food for yourself, how to finesse your way in and out of these various part-time jobs like Carole has you'll go further in life, you know. You'll do better, maybe not further but you'll do better and you’ll appreciate everything a lot more than just with the use of your money. Just like, you just threw your money at whatever to get whatever you want like this is better than that. Shinichiro, the animators and all of the creators, they've done a wonderful job, right.
I would like to get more into the musical aspects unfortunately, like I said we (clap) don't (clap) do (clap) spoilers (calp) so highly recommend you watch the show. You know really getting into it like I have watch, listen, decide for yourself. A lot of this like I said he's my own opinion of it, of the characters, of how they have been portrayed, how other characters have (inaudible), have been portrayed. Watch, listen, make up your own minds. If I missed anything, if you want to comment, question, please go ahead and, and send me those comments and questions (laughs). Maybe some concerns maybe you want to expand a little bit more yourself just go ahead and, and shoot me an email my social and my email will be up. And like I said, the show has been great, I can't wait to watch the next 12 episodes. I'm not sure if they're available on, on uh, Crunchyroll yet or if I have to wait another year. I mean so be it. If I have to I will but this show has been really interesting and it's helping me get back into anime slowly so like, I, I can't wait. I tell as many people as I can about this show Carole and Tuesday, is amazing. And when I put up my interest in doing an episode about Carole and Tuesday my Instagram just blew up and so I was like okay let me hurry up and watch the rest of this so I can go ahead and put up my review. So as of right now, this is only the first part. Once I'm able to get my hands on the, um, next 12 episodes I'm going to go ahead and just film the next one for you guys.
So thanks for listening. This is KS Garner and you have been listening to the Solo Nerd Bird Podcast.

How To Connect Roomba To Wifi – 6 Step
How To Connect Roomba To Wifi? With your Roomba’s Wi-Fi, you can use a smartphone to set up cleaning schedules or start it in one place and have it clean the entire house. This handy feature is only available on select models though. If yours has this capability, here are some steps for connecting via Android or iPhone:
How To Connect Roomba To Wifi
Step 1:
First, resolve any potential connection problems.
The first step is the most important one! If your Roomba does not connect to your home network, you likely have a problem with your router or modem/router combo box. You can follow these instructions to see how to check the settings of your router.
If all of the above check out okay, go ahead and skip down to Step 2.
Step 2:
Change the channel on your wireless access point . This is often overlooked by people trying to troubleshoot their own networking issues. The channels that networks communicate on are shared between many different devices in an area. They may be broadcasting on the same channel as your home network, causing interference and preventing Roomba from getting an internet connection.
Change the channel of your access point to avoid this problem. Unfortunately, there isn’t a set standard for how devices communicate over wifi so you’ll have to change the channel on whatever device you use to connect to your wireless network (e.g., laptop, phone). If it’s an access point, changing its channel is usually as easy as logging into it via a web browser and searching through menus for “change channel.”
Once you’ve determined which channel(s) are least crowded in your area and changed them accordingly, go ahead and skip down to Step 3.
Step 3:
You may have to adjust your router’s MTU. The Roomba can use any number between 1500 and 1492, but it needs the correct value in order to connect via wifi. Try changing the MTU to 1400 or 1460 if you’re having trouble with this step. You’ll need access to your router settings again for this step. If you’re not sure how, follow these instructions .
Once you’ve changed the number in your router settings, go ahead and skip down to Step 4.
Step 4:
This one is a little trickier than usual so please be extra careful! If none of the above steps have resolved your connectivity issues, try swapping out your 2.4 GHz antenna for your 5 GHz antenna. Your router likely broadcasts with both, but only the 2.4GHz one is compatible with Roomba Wi-Fi. If you don’t have a spare antenna laying around, they can be purchased online or at many electronic stores for just a few dollars.
Once you’ve got your new antenna ready to go, go ahead and skip down to Step 5!
Step 5:
If all else fails, reset your router . This is not an ideal solution as it will clear out any custom settings that might be hindering your connection (e.g., prioritizing devices), so only try this if you’ve tried everything else first. To reset your router follow these instructions . Once you’ve finished up this step, skip down to Step 6.
Step 6:
Finally, if you’ve tried all of the above steps and your Roomba still won’t connect to Wi-Fi, it’s possible that the hardware is broken . If this is the case, contact us for help!
If none of these methods resolve your issue, feel free to give us a call at 1-855-977-8327 or email us at [email protected] ! We’re always more than happy to help with any issues you might have!
When you cannot activate your Wi-Fi:
If you’ve set up your home network using the Roomba app and selected “Enabled,” but it still won’t activate when you press the button on your Roomba, this is likely a sign that there is an issue with your router.
Please follow steps 1, 2, and 3 to resolve possible connectivity issues with your router.
If these steps fail to fix the problem and you don’t feel comfortable in logging in to your router settings (which will be required in Step 4), we’d recommend contacting us for further technical support! We would be more than happy to help! Phone: 1-855-977-8327 or email: [email protected]
When you cannot connect after network setup:
If you’ve already tried to activate your Wi-Fi and failed, this could be for a variety of reasons.
First, double check that your Roomba is fully charged. If the battery is low, it won’t be able to connect to your router’s Wi-Fi signal. Also, if the machine detects that it has been moved more than three meters from its base station within 30 minutes of powering on, it will automatically go into standby mode and not attempt to join another network until placed back in close proximity with its base station. Please try moving Roomba closer to the base station and checking for an active light on both devices. For further assistance, follow steps 1 and 2 and 3. If these steps do not resolve your issue, feel free to contact us at the phone numbers listed above!
Can I Use a Roomba Without Wi-Fi?
If you’re having trouble connecting your Roomba to Wi-Fi, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t work without an active wireless network. You can still manually control your Roomba with buttons on top of its body or via the app even if you don’t have internet access!
To control your Roomba through the app, simply select “Roomba” as opposed to “Connected Home” when opening up the app and tap on your Roomba bubble in the middle of the screen. From here, you can press the “Clean” button to make your Roomba begin its cleaning cycle!
Turning off your Wi-Fi
If you’re currently away from home but would like to charge Roomba, it’s possible for you to turn off your router (and thus deactivate all wireless connectivity on the robot) without powering down or unplugging any devices.
You can do this by either turning off your modem (which will disconnect every device on the network) or by simply pushing your router’s reset button (this is usually located in a small hole beside where an ethernet cable plugs into the back of most routers). If you would like further assistance with this method, please refer to the user manual that came with your router for additional instructions.
Roomba Wifi connection tips
If you have trouble connecting your Roomba to Wi-Fi, there are a few things that may help you resolve the issue on your own.
First, make sure that Roomba is not in its “Home” mode. This can be done by pressing the “Clean” button once when available Wi-Fi networks are being detected on your phone or device via the Roomba app. If it has been less than 30 minutes since Roomba was last cleaned, it will default into cleaning mode if no connection is present when attempting to connect to your wireless network. If this is the case, ensure that your robot is fully charged and move it closer to the base station.
If your robot is far away from its base station when trying to connect, it may take up to 13 seconds after pressing the “Clean” button for Roomba’s Wi-Fi connectivity screen in the app to show that it has successfully joined your network! If you are still cannot activate your Wi-Fi, please follow steps 1 and 2 before calling us at one of our customer care numbers listed above!
Conclusion
Hopefully this article helped solve any issues with connecting your Roomba to Wi-Fi. For further assistance or help with resolving connectivity issues, call us at one of our phone numbers listed above! We would be more than happy to help resolve any concerns you have about using Roomba with any given wireless network!

Three Fictional Products
Ahoy ahoy, trying not to be late again this time; I’m doing something relatively unusual for my Saturday Night Writing, not as much a drabble as profiles of three products that never existed; but potentially could have.
I’ve been meaning to do this for ages now, but texecutive dysfunction does as it will, and I’ll do it now by gum! These products can be freely used as one sees fit, no strings attached, though credit me; Thomas F. Johnson if you use ‘em in a work. I’d love to see these weird brands show up as recurring themes
So, without futher ado, tonight’s writing is brought to you by the Pink Wind vaccuum, Blue Moon Soda and Circus Cosmetics, after the break!
Pink Breeze- Fidelio as a vaccuum making company was always an unfortunate case. Their cutting edge use of cyclone filters years before Dyson was hampered by numerous manufacturing difficulties and cost-cutting measures and gimmicks to make them consumer accessible that; more often than not; hampered their overall efficiency as cleaning devices and rendered them prone to breaking; though they were supposedly quite efficient if you could get the damn things to work.
And yet, they still squeaked along for years, managing to sell for a shocking amount for a company with only one model of vaccuum still on the market. But, then, there's the one. Known as the "Pink Breeze," it was meant to be a smaller model of cylander vaccuum meant for dusting fragile items, with a soft; adjustable tip on the nozzle; a dial to alter the level of suction and a rounded; curvy shiny pink configuration meant to resemble an item of furniture. Now, while it was possibly better suited for the task thanks to its use of the company's cyclonic filters, most people didn't see the point of such a specialized product. But, for all its qualities; they were high sellers amongst a male demographic, particularly unmarried; single men.
Yes, all of its factors ended up making the vaccuum accidentally perfect for dick-sucking. Unlike other sex toys, it was buyable in mainstream outlets; with only moderate scruitny from the outside world.
Even the products' legendary shoddiness was little issue, as they were cheap thanks to said cost-cutting measures and most of that fanbase were seemingly okay with shelling out for another model. The CEO; however; was oblivious to the reasons for its cult popularity; only seeing the sales figures. And given his legendary stubbornness and tendency towards conservativism, nobody really wanted to tell him.
The R&D team did; however; secretly take that into account when designing other; secondary products in that line to capitalize on its success; though they enjoyed markedly less thereof; and the product's legendarily-sexualized mascot also known as Pink Breeze was notoriously designed as a joke by the marketing team to see how much implications in that regard they could get away with. The answer was; apparently; "All of it."
Which ended up spawning a fetish art subculture of "Vac-Girls," but that's a whole other story.
The company declined though; as even such an evergreen product can only get one so far in the face of their numerous other failures; and the final death-knell that convinced the owners to sell while they were still viable was the bizarre hovercraft-like vaccum model given the name "Sentinel" but notoriously known as "Old Cat-Eater" and "The Executioner's Hood."
But that's a story for another time.
Blue Moon- Legendary soda-developers the Breulen Brothers; one a flavor scientist and another a product designer, are responsible for some of the greatest "cult hits" amongst soft drinks; whether it be the "DIY" Squash Soda or the enigmatic "Liquid Gold" flavoring agent, but one of their less acclaimed projects was the melatonin-based "Blue Moon" soda, with the blueberry flavoring.
The basic idea was, if there are caffinated sodas meant to keep you awake, why not a soda with a similarly-mild sleep aid to help you go to bed? From there the blueberry flavoring and iconic Man-In-The-Moon logo followed. But, there was a problem. The FDA didn't and still does not allow for the usage of melatonin in items marked as "beverages"
However, the marketing team did get around this in multiple ways. Namely; marketing it as a "suppliment," which just so happened to be advertised like a soda; given its own dispenser adjacent to the other drinks; packaged with other sodas; but carefully worded and advertised so that technically they were not selling it as a soda. Of course, the Brothers did not intend this, intending to market it as a separate item; both to avoid possible adverse combinations with other caffinated beverages and also to establish it as its own "thing," a ritual akin to a nightly equivalent of coffee.
It worked for a shockingly long while too; attracting just the right amount of attention to sell well while still skirting legality. Helped it was damned tasty too. And then the news stories started. Specifically, news stories of various car crashes and accidents induced by the sorts of behaviors that happen when one consumes a beverage that makes one sleepy combined with beverages that make one wide awake.
And, like that, the Brothers were thrown under the bus, despite it not being their idea. The charges were dropped, but their careers were never quite the same.
Of course, there was an "accidental" leak of the product's formula; coincidentally on the same week the Brothers left the company for greener pastures; so there is a small but dedicated following that does make its own "homebrew" of the stuff, so it can be found if one knows where to look.
Circus Cosmetics- The label is somewhat inaccurate, as the cosmetics (Ranging from highlighter to mascara to lipstick to even nail polish) come under a number of different names; sold in low-end stores for cheap prices in low-income areas. They're known by that name due to the largest outbreak of their product under that branding in the Detroit area being under that brand; though other prominent names for it have been reported as Harleqin; Big Top; and Scaramouche
They cause bleaching of the skin; swelling and reddening of the lips; nasal tissue; around the eyes; and of the vocal cords and airways, leaving the victims gasping for air with a distinctive honking noise and causing hallucinations due to deprivation of oxygen not severe enough to kill but severe enough to alter brain activity; resulting in erratic behavior during the affliction and often leaving the victims with permanent skin damage and scarring after recovery. The causes have been identified as likely due to either some bacterial agent often found in samples thereof or a common chemical agent in them; though it has been speculated that it may be due to the interaction of both.
The reason for their continued circulation; despite the numerous outbreaks; is that the FDA is unable to regulate the company that produces it due to it having so many shell subsidiaries that it is impossible to find the "true" producers of such things, though many suspect it is also considered low priority due to the impoverished areas in which these products are found. Multiple fringe religious organizations have been found as donors to these shells through other shells; which has troubling implications.
-As a final word, a lot of these product areas are ones in which I am not truly specialized, so if I have evoked a “THAT IS NOT HOW -X- WORKS!” reaction for those more knowlegable in the subject than me, please contact me and tell me how I can spiff it up!-

Surviving Allergy Season
Hands up if you are being personally victimized by seasonal allergies. When our nose starts running and eyes water up more than when we watch Leo drown in Titanic for the millionth time (spoiler alert) then we know that SPRING IS HERE.
In our last post, we welcomed the newest cosmetics collections to the season. “Okay, that’s nice but what if I can’t wear any of them because my face holes are dripping more than Niagara Falls?” We got you! We’ve compiled some master tips, tricks, and tech for you to be able to survive allergy season and the wreckage it leaves behind.
The Air Purifier
One of the worst ways to wake up during allergy season is with the dreaded “crust face”. It’s gross, we get it, but we have to talk about it. We produce an increased amount of fluids to flush out the irritants from our noses and eyes during allergy season. This means that when pollen tries to roundhouse kick you in the face, you become snotty and teary to fight it off. Basically, pollen is the villain in a Rush Hour movie and our mucus is the Chris Tucker - not always neat but gets the job done.
As we sleep, we’re not wiping away our fluids and they dry up. That’s why, in the morning, we wake up with crusty residue in our eye cracks and nostrils. One of the greatest ways to help lessen these effects are by getting an air purifier. This means that the pollen in your bedroom is already being filtered out by a tool before it hits your face. This helps your immune system have to fight off less aggressors.
TBH, everyone should have one of these in their bedroom year round because springtime isn’t the only time that we are getting assaulted by microscopic enemies that can cause allergies, asthma, or other issues. That’s why we love the Dyson Pure Cool Link Tower ($499). Sure it’s pricey but it’s an investment that will payoff time and time again, just like that Louis bag.
Pro tip: every morning wash your face with cool water or keep a cucumber water soaked towel in the fridge to use as a compress. This will help with any facial swelling that allergies can cause you to wake up with.
The Moisturizer
One of the biggest issues with our faces during allergy season, in addition to all the others we’ve listed above, is that all the rubbing and irritation will cause our face to look red. Maybe you’re constantly blowing your nose and your nostrils look flaming and angry. Perhaps you are having a strong reaction to the blooms overall and your whole face is splotchy and angry. We got you, babe.
Grab a lightweight moisturizer that will have soothing properties to quell your redness. We love DR. JART+ Cicapair ™ Color Correcting Treatment ($52) for its ability to neutralize redness while giving a light tinted coverage. It also provides a layer to protect against UV rays and pollution. The treatment will softness and firm skin while helping calm redness and have you looking fresh faced all spring and beyond.
Another favorite that we keep coming back to is IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Skin Relief ($48) due to its ability to also color correct some of that redness you might be experiencing overall. The founder of It Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima, created the line when there was nothing on the market to help with her rosacea. Double whammy with Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage ($35) for more coverage in those areas where you need it without the flaking and creasing you might be experiencing from always wiping your nose.
BONUS: Grab some super soft tissues to help with nostril dryness or use some Neutrogena Naturals Cleansing Toilettes ($8) to blow your nose instead.
The Eye Makeup
Well, here you go. We bet this was the part of the post you’ve been most eager to read. We’ve all been there before: allergens slap us in the face and, before we know it, our eyes are watering and every sneeze gives us panda eyes. Mascara is all over the place, eyeliner is running down one or both cheeks. Well fuck.
Luckily, Tom Ford knows that we cry during allergy season (or maybe all the time) and launched a new product line just in time. The Emotionproof Mascara ($46) and corresponding Eyeliner ($43) are exactly what we need to prevent smudging and running while pollen violates our faces and the last season of Game of Thrones airs.
If you’re looking for a product with a little more drama and power, let us introduce (or re-introduce for the fans) the Lancôme Hypnose Drama Waterproof mascara ($27). The curved wand helps deposit product from root to tip and lift the lashes. The hardcore waterproof formula also makes sure that your lashes hold a curl in addition to being infallible during allergy season. Pair it with the brand’s Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover ($30) for a gentle but effective cleanse at the end of your day.
For those that don’t want to compromise their creativity while protecting their faces from sliding off, we will always vouch for Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($22). The pencils come in 12 shades and go on super creamy. Don’t dawdle because these sharpshooters will set so budgeproof that you will need to work fast. Once it’s on, this eyeliner is not coming off until you decide. You’ll survive allergy season and an all night rave with these in your beauty arsenal.
The Meds (OTC and Holistic)
Maybe this is the less glamorous side of beauty but medicinal maintenance is part of the magic, baby. We swear my some Flonase ($14) to help us decongest and not have those strings of snot (sorry for the visual) while making an important pitch in a meeting. Some of the nasal sprays on the market are 18+ to buy so be aware that they may live behind the counter and you’ll need to follow the directions of use to the T. We couple that with some Claritin-D ($19) for 24 hour protection again the sneezing and itching. Honestly, before you take any medication you really should be talking to a doctor to make sure it’s what’s best for you. We’re not judging, we’re just lookin’ out bb.
If you’re here for a less pharmaceutical approach, may we introduce you to the Neti-Pot ($14). While this apparatus is commonly recommended for colds we also love it to flush out the congestion and allergens that affect our noses in the spring. It takes some getting used to before you stop feeling like you’re drowning but once you get the hang of it you’ll be a convert. A Neti-Pothead? No? That won’t be a thing. With this, you also want to read the instructions to make sure you are using the right kind of water and cleaning your new pet properly.
Love honey? Start eating some raw honey for a natural way to fight off your allergies. The bee pollen in raw honey has anti-inflammatory characteristics that can help calm the allergic response you’re having to the beautiful but annoying AF trees and flowers. Ingesting it regularly, will help quell the allergic response by building up resistance to the allergens in your body. Grandly, there isn’t a lot of science behind this so def talk to your doc about the feasibility of this as a treatment.

The Beauty Products I Swear By {And Why}
It feels like everywhere we turn there is another #ad promoting some product that guarantees better skin, better hair or just an overall better everything.
Yes, this is technically a sponsored post by Nordstrom but before you start rolling your eyes I honestly don’t know one female in my life who doesn’t love shopping at Nordstrom. It’s honestly the greatest retailer out there and the best thing about my partnership with them is that they’ve given me free reign to talk about whatever I want (just another reason to love Nordstrom)!
Because they carry every single thing I use in the beauty department, I thought I’d do a full rundown on all of the beauty products I live and swear by.
Is The Dyson Worth It?
In a word? Yes. I purchased the Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler several months ago and I still genuinely love it. In fact, I love it so much that I purchased one as a gift for my amazing manager. This isn’t a tool that I use every single day but when I’m feeling like getting extra glammed up, I’ll bust it out. I will say that I get SO many compliments on my hair on the days I use the styler.
What Do I Smell Like?
Every season I rotate through my fragrances so that I match the season. During the autumn months I like something a little woodsy and musky versus in the spring I’m all about floral scents. Regardless of the season, I always gravitate toward Tom Ford fragrance because they feel unique. While they have a nice selection, it also doesn’t feel overdone and they don’t release a new fragrance every 5 minutes.
I Use This Everyday
Something you don’t see a lot on my feed but that I use each and every day to clean my face is the Foreo Luna. If I don’t use it, my skin just doesn’t feel like it got a good clean!
I Found The Best Foundation
While I was in New York for fashion week, the lovely team at Charlotte Tilbury did my make-up and I was introduced to the BEST foundation I’ve ever used. The Hollywood Flawless Filter has been a life saver for my tired face this month. They also used Charlotte’s Magic Cream and I’m a true fan of this product too. It’s not something I use every day {only when I wear foundation} but it serves as a wonderful base to build on when you’re wearing make-up.
If I Were Stuck On An Island With Only One Product
Hands down it would be my Chanel concealer. I’ve been using it for nearly 6 years and I have yet to find anything else that hits the spot like this does. It’s light but covers and doesn’t look caked on.
If You Don’t Know…
If you missed the memo on the Beauty Blender then I don’t know what type of rock you’re living under {kidding, sort of}. Get FAMILIAR with this perfect applicator for putting on foundation. Pro tip? Get the sponge wet before you use it.
The Tool I Swear By
The first time I tried out my NuFACE I was a jerk and didn’t read the instructions to use the gel inside. Once I actually started using the device correctly, I was immediately hooked. My best gal pals swear by it too and we all use it almost every day. As I’m getting a little older {sigh} my neck lines were starting to become a problem for me and I swear that if you use the NuFACE tool regularly you’ll see a difference but you have to be adamant about it.
The Thing I Haven’t Tried
Okay so I keep seeing this cool mirror and it looks fun – but is it worth it? Has anyone out there given it a go?
What other beauty products do you swear by? Leave a comment to share below!

Lights Out
In a recent bid to quell my sporadic anxiety, I decided to do a little audit of my sleeping environment.
I luckily don’t suffer from insomnia, but since I’ve started meditating more seriously (30mins per day) I have noticed the quality of my sleep and dreams being sooooo much better.
Also- this loadshedding isn’t helping- sudden beeps from all over the house mid-sleep letting you know everything’s come back to life. Thanks, Eskom.
Firstly, everyone and their pet llama recommends not using your phone/iPad/laptop before bed. But I’ll be honest- that’s never going to happen. I do my best thinking at night, mid-movie binge, with my sketchbooks and notepads and pens all over my bed. So let’s politely forget about that one thanks, Arianna Huffington.
(If, like me, you can’t part with your electronics, www.healthline.com recommends downloading an app called ‘f.lux’ that alters the blue lights that cause computer screens to trick your body into staying awake.I have, and so far I’m loving it.)
https://justgetflux.com/
I read recently on Goop that you should never have anything smaller than a cantaloupe next to your bed. (Um, okay). I have about 70 million supplements, body products, essential oils and books next to my bed. So I tidied that all up. And made sure the bunch of fresh flowers I always have next to my bed was bigger than a melon.
Temperature is a huge deal for me when I sleep- I need open windows with block-out curtains, cotton bedding, feather duvet and pillows, and I always always have a silent fan on. Dyson’s bladeless variety are honestly the best.
Another thing all the experts recommend that I ignore is sleeping with pets. I am allergic to cats, and have 2. They are my kids, and them snuggling next to me on their teddy bears is one of my life’s greatest pleasures/vices. So I’ll just take antihistamines for the rest of my life and deal with it.
When it comes to bedding, obviously cotton is best. It breathes and is good for your skin- Mr Price Home and @home do aloe vera infused bedding and I have been using it forever. I use silk pillowcases for their skin and hair benefits- these are plentiful. McLeod & Savage already sells silk turbans and will be expanding the range to bedding in April.
In terms of supplementation, I have never needed to use melatonin but I know that this is an unbeatable sleep aid. I take magnesium every night for its incredible effect on stress and sore muscles, and I believe it helps the quality of sleep. I also use magnesium oil topically (you can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/commerce/products/1929069857142607/) and swear by ‘Sleepy’ body lotion by LUSH. Before bed, a bath loaded with essential oils is also a sure-fire way to aid a deep sleep. If you don’t enjoy bathing, you can always burn your oils in your bedroom. (The combination of lavender, clary sage and camomile is always sublime).
The meditation app I swear by is Headspace- there’s just nothing else like it- and I have grown to associate Andy’s voice with rest and deeeeeep breathing.
Lastly, I use the ‘Relax Meditation’ app on my iPad (it works in Airplane Mode) because they use binaural sounds (barely audible) and I add the sound of rain to this. This app alone has completely changed the quality of my sleep. It also has a fade out function and alarm function. A must-have!
I hope these tips help anyone else who might have needed a sleep audit :)
If you have any tips, please comment! Sweet dreams!
Love,
Candy xo

Amazon is a the largest e-commerce marketplace and cloud computing platform in the world as measured by revenue and market capitalization. As you can see , people can buy a lot of commodities in the website.Let’s see what do people comment on the product-Dyson Supersonic Hair dryer. [I LOVE this hair dryer!!! Super efficient and great on hair! ***you can buy it for $200 less at Best Buy…don’t get gypted like me.***] [my wife could not believe that I got it for her. She loves it.] [i LOVE these hair dryers…. I have 3 homes and one in each place — also bought them for daughter and daughter-in-laws. Okay, so they are expensive — but my hair dries in about 2 minutes.] [I love this one. Facebook: A Comeback Story? - Part 2
On the last episode of “Facebook: A Comeback Story”, we discussed how Facebook was testing links in stories to up their (story) game. In the last few months, Facebook has been testing a way to add links on instastories in order to drive more engagement and increase usage of the tool. Surprisingly, Facebook stories did not perform as well as expected when it first launched which is what led to new features being added to the tool. Story links are still undergoing tests and not made available to the public yet, but I believe that once they are, they will serve everyone well. Users, as well as businesses who will benefit from this advancement as it would contribute to the increase of the tool’s usage as well as generate more content for people to discover and invest in.
As I was saying, today, we are getting our hands on a few more possible updates. As we previously stated, stories are getting bigger and bigger by the day and becoming the main source of social sharing amongst cyber users. So, Facebook needs to try and catch up if it wants to remain relevant.
The “links in stories” update is still under construction, I tried to use it, but it still is inactive. And now, we have a few more additions to discuss. So, the first possible update is a stories map. Similar to that of Snapchat, Facebook’s story map is described as the level two version of “nearby friends”. Visually, it looks like the snap-map that exists on Snapchat and is used to find nearby Facebook friends to meet up with. But if you take a closer look, it is shifting its purpose to that similar to a news channel. News channels are relied upon amongst viewers to give exact coverage of what is going on. However, as we all came to realize, many of the news shared is simply a reflection of the image that a certain news channel wants to portray, instead of portraying the truth. So, people find themselves relying now on news generated by people, and this is where the map comes in- sharing live coverage of events taking place nearby that users might be interested in visiting and learning about.
Another ”strange” update that might be in Facebook’s future plans, will target a segment of the users. Are you ready? Okay, so there has been talk that Facebook is adding a pet talent show within the Facebook camera. It is still unclear if it is used on regular posts or stories, but it’s used on the Facebook camera regardless. This might not have any relevance to non-pet owners like myself, but for the ones that do, I can imagine my newsfeed flooding with my friend’s pets’ images, even more so than now. This can help generate a buzz only by being bizarre; in a good way. Facebook has always been known for its creativity and ground-breaking inventions, and this might just be one of the things that put Facebook stories back on the map.
And now, as for the last, but surely not the least update: new stickers! Personally, this update is the one I care about the most, and I think many would agree. The main reason I began posting Instastories is that I loved adding funny and visually-appealing gifs and stickers. And now that Facebook might be adding new stickers such as a rating sticker, “message me”, and “send me a selfie” it gives people more things to play around with and test in order to encourage them to post more.
I personally think that Facebook is really trying hard to get back on top, and these new ideas are exactly what users are looking for. As Mindshare experts, I believe that our clients will always benefit from such advancements as it keeps them up to date and following all trends that are happening worldwide. People love discovering new updates on social media and are quick to test them out. So, this will help increase the tool’s usage and revive Facebook stories that will help benefit our clients. First of all, when it comes to the new map, it will help our clients such as BodyMasters by making them more relatable and reachable on a regular basis and especially when they are opening a new branch or launching a new product or organizing an event that they want to attract visitors to. As for stickers, it allows users to engage with our clients more such as Canderel and Dyson by rating their service or products or by asking direct questions, thus increasing interaction between users and the brand itself. Stay tuned, I’m sure a third episode is on its way. Therefore, we can conclude that these updates will help increase interaction and exposure and invite people to engage more, thus benefiting both sides.
