Ohh I got soooo many ideas, like CV reader got kidnapped by black mask (I think it's red hood nemesis, am not that deep in DC comics but I know the basics) so he could have a deal or take information out of red hood using CV reader. And when Jason found out about it he was pissed but when he got there the bad guys already down because CV reader took them down.
P.s I don't mind if you use this as a reference to make a headcanon or story on contrary i would love to read it, but it's up to you!!

tw/cw: yandere, jason being horny/implied noncon, cat villain! reader being an absolute menace and a whore as always.

note: this happens after conflict between jason and other members of batfam are resolved and at that point cat villain! is more solidly on the cat vigilante! side
“How long is this going to take exactly? I’m about to take an involuntary cat nap with how utterly slow you all are being.”
The Court of Owls were a group of people you’ve absolutely despised on every era you’ve had under your cat mask. Whether it was your wild years as Cat Woman’s protégé or when you were basically assimilated as the Batfam’s shared s/o. You could never bring yourself to like absurdly rich people that well. Much less rich people who do bad things.
For legal and safety reasons, you have to say that the Batfamily are an exception.
You don’t know how on Earth they managed to get their hands on equipment that prevented your powers from working, but it was proving to be quite the annoying conundrum.
“I’m sorry but I’m feline a little too underwhelmed by this whole kidnapping thing. Why don’t we hurry things up a little?”
MEANWHILE . . .
“Where the hell did you take them?!”
Jason slammed Black Mask unto the wall, using the backside of his arm and pressing it against the man’s chest.
The latter’s men took a defensive, alert stance. Ready to pounce on command.
But Black Mask only gestured them to stand down.
“You have to understand, the fact that I even thought of informing you of my deal is a huge risk. I could lose my biggest benefactors.” He replied, calm and polite. In contrast to the harsh kick he deals to his assailant, making Jason back off. “I’m doing you all a favor. I’m doing [Cat Villain Name] a favor.”
“They’re currently on a private island to the south. I can’t give you the exact coordinates but here’s the general location.” He tossed a flashdrive, one swiftly caught and skimmed through by Tim.
“Why are you helping us?” Damian’s mind was already calculating the best way to get rid of everyone in this room. The grip on his katana tightening by the second. He had full faith that you were capable of taking care of yourself, but it did not help with the fear of disappearance whatsoever.
He was sure that the sight of you getting hurt would lead to him going on a rampage.
“Maybe the fact that even with my help, you kids being too late would open their mind and make them come back to our side. They’d finally learn that you’re only as good for them as Batman was to —“ Damian couldn’t stop himself anymore, knocking the man unconscious as the rest of the crew took down his goons with ease. Their worry over your current condition giving them a surprising amount of efficiency as a team.
“It’ll take several hours to even get to those islands much less even find which one . . .” Tim bit his lip. He wasn’t concerned at all. He knows you inside and out. In fact, he already knew where you were exactly. All of this info gathering was just his plan to delay things so that your patience would run out and he’d get front row seats to the carnage you’d inevitably cause. After all, there was something he can always predict when it came to you.
Your unending thirst for fun and chaos.
It took about a week for them to find you. Just about enough time for you to get antsy about not seeing your beloved pets and home.
And plenty of time for you to have your fun, pretending to be hurt, crying out in feigned agony, before you finally took down your prey.
“Red Hood! Come back! We can’t just barge in—“ Dick called out to Jason.
But all Jason could think of was the way you screamed in terror. The footage of your ‘torture’ was something he had nightmares about.
“Kitty! Are you—“ He kicked the door off its hinges, guns ready to fire.
But his sights only landed on a singular breathing being in the middle of a room. Covered in the blood of your victims. Grooming yourself clean.
Each lick sending shivers down his spine.
He sighed in relief. “You really have to stop playing with your food, Kitty.”
His lips envelopes yours as the world disappears from your vision.

Step Back, Doors Closing
happy day 4 of @nessianweek everyone! AU day is one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy yet another hyperspecific nessian in DC fic haha.
Summary: Nesta has had it up to here with the guy who doesn’t understand City Rules™.
Word Count: 3.3k
Read on AO3 here!
✵✵✵✵✵✵ Nesta
It was the second week of her highly coveted summer job, and Nesta was going to be late.
“Come on, come on, come on,” she muttered under her breath as her train took its time shuttling into Metro Center. She had another train to catch, and while normally she arrived at her station with more than enough time to catch her second train to McPherson Square, she’d overslept by just enough time to throw everything out of whack.
Nesta had just finished her second year of law school, and her firm hadn’t wasted any time in getting her started. She’d worked her ass off all year to land this position, and she wasn’t going to fuck it up so early in the summer by strolling in late like some of the other summer associates. She didn’t have a rich father or so many connections that going to law school was almost a formality; she’d put in the work to earn her spot, and she wasn’t going to let something as simple as missing her connecting train stop her from clawing her way to the top of her summer class.
Thankfully, the Red Line’s doors opened relatively quickly, and Nesta nearly ran a few unsuspecting people over as she raced through the station toward the escalators to catch whatever train was coming next. It didn’t matter if she caught a Blue, Orange, or Silver; she just needed to be on the next train, for God’s sakes.
“Excuse me!” Nesta called out as she took to the stairs at a run, her irritation already flaring at the people who just didn’t seem to understand the rules of living in a city. She loved the District, but she didn’t love just how many tourists and those unfamiliar with the Metro seemed to flock to the train during the summer. How hard was it to remember to stand on the right and leave the left clear?
Everyone seemed to get with the program except for one massive guy who was standing on the left side of the escalator without recognizing the dirty looks being thrown at him from behind. Nesta didn’t have time to wait for him to get with the program, though, so she yelled even louder, “Hey! Hi! Excuse me!”
“Huh?” The guy turned and looked over one of his very muscular shoulders, his hazel eyes widening slightly at the look on Nesta’s face. He had just enough of a drawl to suggest he wasn’t from around here, but Nesta was far too worried about missing her train to take in just how good-looking he was or how much she liked the accent on his lips. “Sorry, ma’am. Let me get out of your way.”
“Thanks,” Nesta told him as he moved his frankly massive body to the right, finally giving her the opening she needed to sprint down the rest of the escalator. She had to shove her foot into the door to stop it from closing on her, but by the grace of whatever god was listening she managed to make it inside the train just before it left.
“Fucking idiot tourists,” Nesta muttered under her breath, practically collapsing into her seat as she caught her breath. She absolutely hated running for the train, especially around those who didn’t know any better. Hopefully she wouldn’t run into the guy again.
Besides, did she really look that old to be called ma’am? What a dick.
✵✵✵✵✵✵
The rest of Nesta’s week was thankfully uneventful commute-wise, and she was very grateful that she didn’t have to sprint through Metro Center looking like an idiot at eight thirty in the morning again.
Nesta’s luck didn’t hold forever, though. Nearly two weeks later, she’d stayed out later than usual the night before because of a networking dinner, and pressing snooze one too many times on her alarm led to her jumping out of bed with a series of curses so vulgar her mother was probably rolling in her grave at how unladylike all of it was.
Nesta rushed through the fastest shower of her life, somehow managing to make herself presentable in twenty minutes before she hauled ass out the door to get to Cleveland Park. She thankfully had enough time to drink a cup of coffee and take another to go before she left her apartment, but all the coffee in the world couldn’t prepare her for how the rest of her morning was going to play out.
“Excuse me! Excuse me! Jesus fucking Christ, excuse me!” Nesta snapped, already out of patience with it all as she maneuvered her way off her first train and downstairs to the other half of the station. To add insult to injury, one of the escalators was apparently having some kind of issue, so instead of the two going down and one going up, there was only one of each.
Of course this was happening on what was already a very shitty morning. At the sound of a train approaching on the lower level, Nesta tightened her grip on her coffee and hauled ass to make it to the working escalator, ready to make that train come hell or high water. She would’ve made it too, if not for the giant wall of muscle that was once a-fucking-gain taking up a truly ridiculous amount of room on the escalator. Despite her increasingly loud calls of excuse me, the man didn’t move out of her way until just in time for the doors to shut right in front of Nesta’s quickly reddening face.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” Nesta practically snarled under her breath, her chest heaving from her now-pointless sprint. Before she could stop herself, she whirled around to face the man responsible, clutching her thermos so tightly it was a miracle the material didn’t crumple under her hand. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“I’m sorry?” he replied after a second. Today he had on a pale blue polo tucked into a pair of darker navy slacks, and she hated how good he looked in the outfit when all she wanted to do was rip his head off.
“You made me miss my fucking train,” she continued, really working up steam now, “because you’re apparently incapable of remembering what side of the escalator to stand on. So I ask again: what the fuck is wrong with you?”
“I’m not from around here,” the man responded after a moment, at least having the decency to look a little sheepish as he stared down at Nesta. He had a badge clipped through one of his belt loops that said Cassian. “We don’t have public transit like this back home. I’m used to driving everywhere.”
“I don’t give a fuck what you have back home,” she snapped. The next train was coming in three minutes, so she had plenty of time to tell this Cassian about himself before she made it into the office. “You’re not in fucking Kansas anymore. Get with the goddamn program.”
“It’s Texas, actually,” Cassian answered, apparently completely unruffled by her outburst. It only made her want to lash out at him more, but judging by the amusement twinkling in his eye, she wasn’t totally sure that would be a problem for him.
“It’s an expression,” Nesta hissed. God, she needed more coffee; the stuff she had clearly wasn’t strong enough to deal with this idiot, but it didn’t stop her from taking a healthy swallow from her thermos. “Surely they have those back home.”
“We have plenty of things back home,” he replied cheerfully, though she suspected it probably fell into that faux-Southern kindness she’d heard about before. “Including manners. And politeness.”
“If you want that so bad, then maybe you should fuck back off to Texas,” she retorted. She looked down to her feet and was incredibly thankful that the lights on the edge of the platform had started flashing, signaling the next train was about a minute away. “We do things a little differently on the East Coast.”
“Yep,” Cassian told her, the amusement fading from his eyes. She felt a vicious burst of satisfaction as a hint of annoyance began to creep into his voice. “I’m beginning to see that.”
“So you are capable of learning,” Nesta said just as her train pulled into the station. She turned over her shoulder to give him one last icy look before she boarded her train, adding, “Keep up the good work.”
✵✵✵✵✵✵
By the time Nesta made it back to Metro Center after work, she was more than ready to complete her commute in peace. Her feet hurt, she was nursing a low-grade headache, and all she wanted was to change into her most comfortable pajamas and maybe throw on a face mask while she caught up on Interview With the Vampire. Maybe the universe would be kind for once and actually let her.
It seemed the universe was hell-bent on ruining her day, though, because there weren’t any seats available on the train back to Shady Grove. Nesta sighed heavily, trying to convince herself she was completely fine with standing the entire way back to Cleveland Park; her shoes were killing her, and she’d forgotten to charge her AirPods before she’d left work for the day, but it was fine. Totally, completely, and one hundred percent fine.
“You want to sit down?”
Nesta looked up from where she’d been reading something on her phone, unable to come up with a coherent response as she realized it was the guy from earlier – Cassian, who was still looking way too good in his blue outfit.
“What?” Nesta replied, her brain not completely firing on all cylinders after the day she’d had.
“I said, did you want to sit down?” Cassian repeated. He was sitting nearly directly across from her in one of the seats right by the doors, and he’d already started to pick up his backpack like he fully intended to get up.
Of course he was offering her his seat out of some misguided sense of chivalry. At any other time, Nesta would’ve rolled her eyes and told him to fuck off, that she could stand up just fine; after the last few weeks, though, the worst part wasn’t even that he’d offered.
It was that she was considering taking it.
“Just—” Cassian began, looking more and more exasperated the longer Nesta stared at him like he had two heads. “Just let me do this. Okay?”
“Why?” Nesta asked, suspicious.
“I know I fucked up this morning,” he answered. God, that drawl shouldn’t be as attractive as it was; Nesta cursed her tired brain for liking the sound of his voice even more than usual. “And a lot of other mornings, if we’re being honest. Can this be a minor peace offering?”
Nesta weighed her options as the train began slowing down. On the one hand, sitting down would be amazing, but on the other, she didn’t know if she wanted to let this weird thing she had with Cassian go just quite yet. Still, her feet were hurting, so she just sighed and told herself it didn’t have to mean a single, goddamned thing, even though she knew the truth.
“Fine,” Nesta finally agreed. Cassian hopped up so she could sit down just as the train came to a stop at Farragut North, and she absolutely didn’t notice the way his arm muscles flexed as he reached up to grab the railing above him. “I still don’t like you, though.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” Cassian responded. A satisfied little smile appeared on his lips, and she had to focus somewhere else before she did something stupid like think about totally dropping her grudge because of how good-looking he was. “I hope you weren’t too late for whatever you were rushing off to.”
“My summer associate position is more than just ‘whatever I was rushing off to,’” she replied, too tired from her long day to do more than roll her eyes at him.
“Summer associate, huh?” he fired back. He seemed appropriately impressed, so maybe he knew some lawyers. She wouldn’t be surprised if he did; this was DC, after all. “What law school are you at?”
“Georgetown,” she answered. She wasn’t totally sure why she was telling him this, but hopefully it wouldn’t come back to bite her in the ass somehow later. She wouldn’t mind if he came back to bite her in the ass, but she viciously shoved that thought out of her mind; now was so not the time. “I’m starting my last year of law school in the fall.”
“That’s nice,” he told her, somehow managing to pack the words with a ridiculous amount of… something. He waited for the train to stop and keep going onto the next stop before adding, “Real nice. I’m on the Hill this summer.”
“You and half the city,” she retorted. If you lived in the District for longer than thirty seconds, you’d meet someone who worked on the Hill. “I hope you don’t think that makes you special.”
“If you think I’m special, then I’ll take it.”
“I never said that.”
“You didn’t have to. I can just tell what you’re thinking.”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night,” Nesta said, thoroughly ignoring the grin on Cassian’s face. “Don’t tell me you’re working for that piece of shit Ted Cruz.”
“What do you take me for?” Cassian said back with a roll of his pretty eyes. “Not everybody from Texas is a bigot, sweetheart. I’m working for someone with sense, thank you very much.”
“I don’t think you want to know what I take you for,” she replied dryly.
He just laughed, the sound somehow making her feel a little less frazzled after a shitty day. “I’d ask you, but I don’t want a situation on the Metro.”
“And what kind of situation would that be?” she asked, raising one of her eyebrows.
“The kind you don’t talk about in polite company,” he responded. His gaze turned just heated enough to make her force herself not to squirm; she was incredibly thankful that most of the people getting on and off the train had headphones in.
“You think I’m polite now?” she questioned, not quite willing to cede control of the conversation.
“Nah,” he replied with a teasing grin. “You’re something else, ma’am.”
Nesta rolled her eyes as the train finally started slowing down at Cleveland Park, gathering her belongings as she prepared to get off the train. “My name is Nesta. Not ma’am.”
“What’s wrong with someone calling you ma’am?” Cassian asked. “You don’t like a respectful man?”
“I’ll let you figure that out, Cassian,” she told him just before she got off the train, making a point of using his first name. Maybe he’d be encouraged to do the same. “Don’t make me miss my train again.”
If Cassian had a reply, Nesta didn’t hear it before the doors shut and the train continued onward. As she walked back to her apartment, she half wondered where he lived; she hadn’t seen him on her way home until today, and half of her hoped it wouldn’t become a habit.
The other half of her almost hoped he would.
✵✵✵✵✵✵
Nesta went another few days without seeing Cassian, and then on a fateful Wednesday morning, she spied him standing in the middle of the lower platform with his head on a swivel. She was suddenly and immensely thankful that she hadn’t had to run for the train at all today because of how handsome he looked this morning. He had on a white collared shirt tucked into a pair of dark gray slacks, and she of course noticed the way his muscles were straining against the fabric even with the short sleeves.
Remember how bad he is at taking public transportation, she told herself as she stepped off the escalator. God, she wished she’d brought more coffee with her to keep her head in the goddamned game. Remember how he made you miss your train. It doesn’t matter how hot he is.
All of that went out the window the second Cassian opened his mouth, but Nesta wasn’t as upset about it as she probably should’ve been. He really was hot.
“Hey, Nes,” Cassian said. Nesta realized he was holding a large cup of what was probably coffee, packaged nicely in a dark blue thermos. “I, uh… got you this.”
“What is… this?” Nesta questioned. They had another few minutes before their respective trains came into the station, so she supposed she might as well entertain him a little. It had absolutely nothing to do with how hopefully he was smiling at her.
“Coffee,” he answered, taking a step closer. His cologne smelled way too good and she had to actively stop herself from face planting into the side of his neck to take a deeper whiff. She should’ve never taken that goddamn seat; she was folding faster than a house of cards. “I didn’t know what you’d like, so I just got something with caramel in it. Hope you got a sweet tooth.”
“Why would I accept coffee from a stranger?” She asked, mostly to watch him squirm. She didn’t know how he’d guessed about her sweet tooth — or how he’d managed to pick the one morning she’d run out of coffee and hadn’t been able to make her usual two cups — but once she was done needling him, she was going to chug the entire thing.
“Because it’s good coffee?” he replied. “And I think we’re beyond being strangers, sweetheart.”
“Right,” she responded slowly, making sure he could feel how incredulous she found the entire situation. “How do I know you didn’t poison it?”
Cassian made a big show of twisting off the lid and taking a sip, somehow managing to do that all and swallow without breaking eye contact. It was unfairly hot and he definitely knew it, judging by the little smirk forming at the corner of his mouth. “Better?”
“Fine,” Nesta grumbled, reaching out her hand and wiggling her fingers expectantly. “Let’s see how good this really is.”
Cassian snapped the top back on and handed the thermos over without comment, the cup warm in her hand as he passed it over. Once she got the top open she performed the same trick he had, very much enjoying the way his eyes went a little wide as she brought the thermos to her lips and swallowed. The coffee was good, maybe not as sweet as she may have preferred, but still good all the same.
“Well?” Cassian asked expectantly. “What do you think?”
“It’s fine,” Nesta answered, taking another sip. “Could be sweeter.”
“Knew you had a sweet tooth, Nes,” he replied smugly. “Just something about you.”
“I just like sugar,” she told him with a roll of her eyes. “Don’t get any ideas.”
“About you being sweet?” he retorted with a knowing grin. “Never that. I like my ladies meaner than a two-headed snake.”
“…Right,” she said, not totally sure what to say back to that. Was that some kind of compliment? Judging by the way he was looking at her, maybe it was supposed to be. “Is that a Texas thing?”
“Nah,” he said back, still grinning. It was really ridiculous how nice of a smile he had. “Just a Cassian thing.”
“I take back what I said before,” she responded with a huff of laughter. She didn’t think she’d ever been hit on in this way before, and it was certainly memorable. “You are special. Definitely something wrong up there.”
“As long as you know what you’re getting into, sweetheart,” he retorted.
“And what would that be?” Nesta questioned, raising her voice as both of their trains began approaching the station.
“Let me take you out for a proper dinner and you can find out,” Cassian fired back without missing a beat.
Nesta studied him for a few seconds, finding nothing but earnestness in those hazel eyes she liked so much, and decided to take a chance. “Fine, but only if we drive.”

Hi! I absolutely adore your Asymmetrical Warfare series on AO3 (it’s got me back on a competent Jason Todd kick, which, there’s honestly too little of so if you have any recs pls fire away)!
I did have a curiosity that I hope you don’t mind answering though: are there specific reason why you’re not a Tim fan? And does that extend to other members of the batfam as well?
Hi, anon! I’m so glad you’re enjoying Asymmetrical Warfare (competent Jason ftw!). 🙌
Re: Tim. I should probably be more conscientious with my wording around Tim. A lot of what I say in ao3 comments or here tends toward facetious, and tone doesn’t really come across well online.
Which is not to say there aren’t things about Tim that bug me. For example—canon Tim, there are more than few instances of him being downright shitty to Jay’s memory. Case in point, from Batman #456, Tim imagines Jason’s ghost giving him a pep talk about becoming a hero and Jason says he killed himself because he didn’t listen to Batman.
Ah, no sir, the responsible party was the psychopathic clown with a crowbar and some explosives, not the 15 year old trying to save his newly discovered biological mother.
But is this really Tim the character’s fault? Or is it dc’s fault for creating a narrative that brutally murdered a child and then spent decades trashing his memory and blatantly victim-blaming him for it?
It’s really more fanon depictions of Tim that I have a problem with. In particular, the tendency to project Jason’s trauma onto Tim. Trying to spin the white boy who came from an affluent two-parent household as somehow more neglected than the kid whose parents are dead/incarcerated and was literally homeless is just ??? Jason’s backstory touches on so many important societal issues (the gutting of the social safety net, the industrial prison complex, the opioid epidemic, the criminalization of poverty, the stigmatization of sex work), and this approach sweeps all of that under the rug.
It also really gets my goat how many fics masquerade as being about Jason, but are actually just a vehicle for Tim time. These stories tend to dramatize Tim’s character, whether it’s woobie, touch-starved little Timmy who needs constant reassurance and protection, or smarter than everyone ever, can not be out thought or out fought, is actually a CEO while he should be in high school Tim. My problem with this type of narrative is usually two-fold. 1) It dumbs down Jason’s characterization (which should be so rich and complex) to ridiculously oversimplified motivations and actions. And 2) it turns Tim into a caricature of himself, instead of a compelling character with a balance of strengths and weaknesses and a normal amount of teenaged self-esteem.
It probably doesn’t sound like it from this blog post, but I do really try hard in life not to yuck other people’s yum. Just because I don’t care for how Tim is portrayed, it doesn’t make it inherently bad or wrong. And all of this aside, I’ve read plenty of fics where I enjoyed Tim just fine. For example, I love how @bonerot19 writes Tim in their Something in the Static series. And Tim and Jay’s dynamic in WFA is often amusing.
So, yeah, bottom line. Tim is … fine. I’m just not a fan, per se. I try to at least write him fairly in Asymmetrical Warfare, with both the realistic shortcoming of a teenage boy and the awesomeness of Robin. He’s never going to get the same amount of page time as the rest of the crew is, though.
Re: the rest of the batfam. I mean, I often want to bop Bruce on the nose. Especially canon Bruce who beats up his kids and is completely unrepentant about it. But, honestly, that’s not my Bruce. My Bruce, who I love and love to hate in turn, would never do that. (Compartmentalization, the key to happy fic reading and writing.)
I love Babs and Dick. I want to be besties with Steph, but in reality she’s way too cool for me. Duke and Cass I’m less familiar with, but have no problems with. Damian is growing on me, and if dc would just give up the game and admit that Dami and Jay met in the LoA and are actually super special murder brothers at heart, that would be great. Selina is a queen and someday I will write that Selina + Jay and Dami meet in the LoA fic I’ve been dreaming about.
Re: competent Jason fic recs. One of my favorites is butcherbird, fly away home by e_va @e-vasong. Bonus rec, the same author put out a new fic recently, another way to make it to ten, and it not only features competent Jason, it’s Jason & Tim, and I like Tim in it.
Thanks so much for the ask, anon! Really great questions. Kudos if you made it through the whole post. 💙

The Batfam Case
Sooo, I started watching batfam posts on tiktok, decided for funsis to try to understand the lore. It's been two days, I'm too invested I'm about to infodump you what I know and I may pass from tiktok to tumblr.
RULES:
I cannot search any question that I have, everything has to come naturally on my fyp
Non of y'all can say anything, if I say the wrongest shit ever you're not correcting me
DISCLAMER:
I don't know shit about DC. I watched a single movie and that is lego batman. No series, no comics, nada and I will not be watching until I crack this shit, so yeah, my facts may be super wrong.
I will start with characters analysis in this structure: name - vigilante persona(s) - age - personality/ general backstory - love interest(s). This will be followed by the events that I know of in chronological order (years will not be included, I'm not that much of a mad woman, instead they will be put in different Robin eras).
Ed3: I've decided that at the end of each day I will edit the original post with the mark: Ed(day number), I will not erase anything but I will scratch. I will also be adding parentage as a category in the characters (that goes from biological to emotional and their life status)
Ed4: don't know where else to put this but DC apparently stands for Detective Comics and Batman is considered the best detective of his time.
Ed6: I'm going to put a separator here because this post is getting toooo long. Also I feel like I should add, the villains have an habit of calling the Robins "little bird".
Ed15: Last update people, I'm gonna start actually getting into this (if you can give me recomendations for what to watch that would be awesome)
CHARACTERS:
Bruce Wayne
Vigilante persona: Batman
Age: DILF
General background: apparently has two personalities, I thought he was just Broody all the time, but apparently, he is also a nonalcoholic version of Tony Stark (at least I'm pretty sure he's not an alcoholic) (Ed15: he isn't, he doesn't drink so he can be alert), genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist and all of that jazz (Ed4: has been a victim of the so called "toxic comic bros" who just want him to beat people up, because he's batman and he has a deep voice and he doesn't show emotion, when in reality he's really family orientated and would literally do anything for his kids and he learned how to show it verbally/physically throughout the years of robins, thanks for coming to my ted talk) (Ed15: there is also "Brucie", who is his persona to the public that is just fucking flirty and bold)
Love interests: Damian's mom? Idk apparently he has game (another thing I was not expecting of batman) (Ed3: superman, those two have definitely fucked, I saw a scene of an animated series that had batman on top of superman and it was raining and superman had the most bedroom eyes I have ever seen) (Ed15: the current one seems to be a Selins, which now that I think about it, isn't she one of Jason's many mother figures)
Parentage: Biologically, don't know their names, they were rich, they are dead (and maybe involved in an organised crime? Still have to fact check this one). Emotionally, Alfred
Richard Grayson
Vigilante personas: OG Robin/nightwing
Age: grown ass man
General background: sunshine incarnation, smiling while threatening someone to kill their entire family kinda person, hot as fuck, flexible as shit (advantages of having gymnasts parents), oh yeah, grew up in a circus, dead parents (oopsie daisy, the trauma needed to start somewhere I guess), also his nickname is Dick? Who chooses that nickname? (Ed4: very overlooked trauma, mainly because of the sunshine energy, oldest sibling syndrome, probably had some kind of burnout at the age of 15/16) (Ed15: I think he got amnesia at some point? And he's Romani, cool)
Love interest(s): someone named starfire (?) (Ed3: I now know who starfire is and apparently their those annoying couples that are always breaking up and coming back together), also there's this red head that is connected to flash because his suit is an ugly version of flash's, I think (Ed3) his name is Wally?, idk if he's a friend or something else (or he could be starfire, who knows) (Ed3: his name is indeed Wally and he was a childhood friend and maybe a bit more but it doesn't matter because he's dead and their last conversation was a fight. ✨️Trauma and Drama✨️) (Ed4: There's also Barbara apparently (the only thing in my mind is the audio "name a more inconic duo that a twink and a red head") and a girl named Zatanna)
Parentage: Biologically, they were acrobatics and acrobated to their deaths (this word is going to be common in this section). Emotionally, Bruce and Alfred. Legally, maybe Bruce, I mean the kid was a child when he became Robin, who was his legal guardian? (Ed4: apparently Dick was just Bruce's ward :(, he never adopted him)
Jason Todd
Vigilante personas: ex-Robin/Redhood (Ed3: maybe phoenix, still trying to decide if that's true or not)
Age: another grown ass man
General background: happy, naive and cute when young (Ed15: and apparently a street kid) /instead of unplugging and plugging his life back in he decides to do a whole factory reset/ basically batman's personality but without the morals part, also hot as fuck (jesus christ, how can a drawing be so hot), from what I understand, he's the fandom's sad little meow meow (Ed6: he wears a mask under his helmet. I feel like that's important information and he's the only one who can cook (besides Alfred))
Love interest: Roy (Green lantern's kid, who is apparently named Oliver (Ed6: apparently there is another green lantern named Hal???? That is not important to the batfam but i feel like I should mention it) and is also a billionaire. The more you know) and they have a child! I don't their name or gender but batman's a grandpa! (Ed4: Her name is Lain :D)(Ed3: Honorary mention to the girl who he said he had to go to a funeral to escape a date) (Ed15: someone named Artemis, that (and this is a big shot in the dark) is a bow and arrow kinda hero)
Parentage: Biologically, no fucking idea (Ed4: I think Jason had a semi-decent relationship with his father. Also I'm pretty sure that Talia is(Ed6) his mom and she sold him to Joker, which draaammmaa (Ed6: pretty sure that title actually goes to Shelia)) (Ed15: his fahter is named Willis and he was arrested at some point). Emotionally, Bruce, Alfred and apparently he has like 5 mother figures including Damian's mom (Ed6: one of them is named Selina (she's nice 👍) and there's a Shelia who I'm not sure is biologically his momEd15 and a Catherine (she's also nice) and a Nocturna (not sure if this is just the vigilante name of one I've mentioned before)). Legally, again who was his legal guardian if not Bruce? (Ed4: I'm pretty convinced that he was adopted by him) (Ed6: his step mom died of overdose, which damn)
Barbara (Ed3: Gordon)
Vigilante personas: bat girl/Oracle????????? (Ed3: my questions have been answered, she is the Oracle)
Age: pretty sure she's around the same age as Jason (Ed4: considering recent developments, I'm going to believe she's around Dick's age)
General background: I barely know shit about her, I know she's a hacker and I think she has some kind of motor disability (this is a big shot in the dark) (Ed3: but a fucking correct one, I was right bitches) (Ed4: she seems like the one holding the brain cell 90% of the time and I know she's ti-red of this train wreck of a family. Gonna say it here because I have no idea when it happens but I have this theory that she was batgirl until she suffered an accident(in or out of the job) that affected her legs, amking the vigilante shit hard, so she decides to go behind the scenes and becomes Oracle)
Love interest: no idea, but if she's free I don't mind stepping in (Ed4: this people love incest bc her and Dick were a thing) (Ed6: apparently my baby has no other love interest besides Dick 😔✊️ (Ed15: lies there is someone called Kory))
Parentage: Biologically, no idea. Emotionally: Bruce, Alfred and that's all I know (there are very few people talking about my girl, seriously people step up)
Tim Drake
Vigilante personas: ex-Robin/Red Robin
Age: late teen/young adult (Ed15: forever 17 )
General background: literal physcopath, too smart for his trembling morals, literal gremlin, a little shit, Tired all the fucking time, already a child of rich people before becoming another one of Bruce's children, I'm pretty sure his parents were alive when he became Robin (they didn't stay alive for long, but it's progress) (Ed4: I think at some point he may have been Joker Jr??? Wtf???(Ed6: I'm super confused because one video said it wasn't cannon and the next one used it as if it was))
Love interest: I don't know if my boy has time for them (Ed3: a superboy I forgot his name, I'll have to go through my reblogs for info (update I was thinking of the wrong Wayne-Kent relationship, I have no idea this guy's name), also apparently he had a thing with Stephanie? Incest, much) (Ed4: apparently he's in a poly ship because, besides the Kent kid (whose name is Kon btw) he also has a thing with some kid named Bernard)
Parentage: Biologically, they're rich and were killed by Boomerang. Emotionally, Bruce, Alfred. Legally, I will ask the same question once again WHO THE FUCK IS THIS KID'S LEGAL GUARDIAN?? (Ed4: I'm almost certain that Bruce adopts him)
Stephanie (Ed3: Brown)
Vigilante personas: ex-Robin(hilarious)/Spoiler (what kind of name is this)
Age: probably not much younger than Tim
General background: no fucking idea, (Ed4) I just need to point out how fucking hilarious it is that the other Robins were all young boys with black hair and then a blonde girl just shows up one day with the costum and everyone rolls with it (Ed4: she's another gremlin together with Tim and I know if those two are left alone for five minutes they will start world domination. Also she starts drama for the hell of it.)
Love interest: she gives me bi vibes, idk what else to tell you (Ed3: I'll repeat the incest with Tim) (Ed4: Cass :D, I love that for them (Steph, is your kink incest?))
Parentage: I don't know and I'm getting ultraged by the lack of content the girls have, seriously people (Ed15: her dad was an acoholic super villain who wanted Steph to follow his footsteps, but she said no and became Spoiler to stop him, you go queen.)
Damien Wayne(?) (Ed3)
Vigilante persona: Robin
Age: tween (Ed15: technically he's 14)
General background: he has a sword? I need to start with this, a trained assassin (I'll repeat he is a tween (I think)), the child of the family, has everyone wrapped around his little finger, Bruce's bio child (Ed3: the one who is most likely to kill someone, a wild fact considering he's the youngest one, also he has fangs???? For some reason? And people call him hell spawn so there is some history here, also he has a bunch of animals and I just love that) (Ed4: was a prince before he came here, that's all I have to add)
Love interest: he's a child (Ed3: another superkid, the Waynes have a type, his name is Jon)
Parentage: Biologically, Bruce and this Talia woman (and they are both alive, shocker I know) (Ed15: also his grandfather is a super villain named "Ra's" that uses the Lazarus pit to be imortal. Fun.). Emotionally, Alfred.
Cass(andra?(Ed3)) Last Name Unknown (Ed3: Cain)
Vigilante persona: still looking for it (Ed3: black bat) (Ed15: and orphan... wow)
Age: teen, I think (Ed3)
General background: another one I barely know shit about, she's deaf, she gives me sassy little girl vibes (Ed3: she is some kind of Michael from the Naturals (where are my 3 the natural fans at?)) (Ed4: she's a sneaky little bitch who need no weapon, just her two fists, super quiet, but super deadly) (Ed15: she was homeless at some point, which for some point it is not a knew trope here. Also, is she really deaf or not, because I saw a cannon vs fannon video about her and the fannon signed, but the cannon spoke clearly, was she born deaf or a result of an accident? Is she even completely deaf?)
Love interest: no fucking idea man (Ed4: Steph :D, idk why but I love this idea so much I don't even care if it's not canon, it's canon to me)
Parentage: speaking again about the lack of content about women (Ed4: still less close, just know that she has mommy and daddy issues, so they're probably not great) (Ed6: her mother (Ed15: and her name is Shiva) sold her to someone who made her into a killing machine. Tense.)
(Ed3: the whole duke section is new, my bad I knew nothing about him)
Duke Thomas
Vigilante persona: signal
Age: teen
General background: he seems like a genuine calm nice guy, it's a contrast from the rest of the family (Ed15: apparently he's insanely smart and good with riddles and so fucking cool. Also he has the power to manipulate light, which is so fucking cool)
Love interest: not that I know of (Ed15: I'm pretty sure that he has a girlfriend, but her name is unknown)
Parentage: Biologically, I'm pretty sure they're dead but that's not new (Ed15: they're not dead. They are however in a asylum with their minds fucked up because of whatever "joker toxin" is, idk what's worse honestly). Emotionally, Bruce and Alfred. Legally, I have given up on the question by this point (Ed4: also pretty sure Bruce adopts him)
Alfred (Ed4: Pennyworth)
Vigilante persona: I don't think he has one, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did
Age: old
General background: incarnation of "terrifying calmness", I don't think there's much more to say really, excellent cook, insaaaannnneeee lore (Ed15: apparently he's not a good person in cannon??? He has a daughter but abandons her to take care of Bruce, convinces the Robins to become vigilantes while Bruce just wants for them to have a normal childhood, was the one who made the "good soldier" memorial (yes, I know about that, so much known lore, I'm practically a master) and Bruce actually wanted it taken down)
Love interest: THE QUEEN OF ENGLAN?????? FOR SOME GOD FORSAKEN REASON
Parentage: he had a sister (or daughter) and her name is Julia but they don't have the best relationship
Shout out to the guy in a yellow bat suit, I just saw you in pictures, but I will find out your name. Also there's a kid named Duke, I think he is gonna be Damien's replacement
(Ed3: lmao who's tell past me, also gonna add the name Domino here, I saw it somewhere I'm not even sure if it's a super hero or a villain name)
(Ed4: adding another name to the "I heard this once but I feel like they're important" pool: Ortiz, they're the love interest of someone, I feel like is Duke but there were no context clues; Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, will make a character analysis when I have more information than name/vigilante name)
(Ed6: another one to the pool. His name is Terry and he is barely mentioned in the fandom. Also Slade, he's a villain and has beef with every single Robin. And a guy named Lex that every single one of the batfam hates, he has the opposite company of WI and he may or may not be a supervillain. Someone help me there are three batgirls. And I saw a post where Jason called Cass his "big sister". I'm gonna cry)
(Ed15: Thee is more. :D Her name is Helena and I'm pretty sure she's Bruce and Selina's bio!daughter and her super hero name is huntress. I would like to also add Jarro. Jarro is a Robin. Jarro is also a starfish. Live laugh love Jarro.)
EVENTS IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER
Pre-Robin
Dick living happily with his parents in a circus at the age of 8
Parents die in front of him (and Burce, I think)
Picks up a costum and start beating criminals twice his size
Dick Robin era
Batman's like "someone needs to put that kid under control. No one volunteers? Okay, I'll do it. No, there's no need to insist I'll do it." That or they keep having encounters until Batman gets attached. (Ed3)
Mentor/mentee shenanigans
Boom Dick's too old, no idea if he just leaves the title, gives it up to Jason or Bruce just says he likes them young (Ed3: the most hilarious option won)
(Ed6:Jason is homeless because his step mom died of and overdose)
Also no idea how Jason got himself in the middle of this mess. (Ed3: why the hell am I still clueless about this?) (Ed4: apparently he tried to steal the tires of a batmobile and that's how they met? Amazing I love it) Anyways,
Jason Robin era
Somewhere in the middle of all of this Dick becomes nightwing
More mentor/mentee shenanigans
(Ed4: Dick goes to space on a mission)
(Ed3: Jason decides to go rogue and look for his mother, which, somehow, leads to:)
Jason dies (like really dies, he got buried and everything) by the hands of Joker (Ed3: with a crowbar, very important information, but seriously, that's violent as fuck) D: (Ed4: because Jason's mother (that may or may not be Talia) (Ed15) sells him out)
Batman almost kills Joker :D
Superman stops him D:
Anyways, Batman goes batshit crazy
(Ed4: Dick comes back from space to a dead brother, an angered dad and a random stalker (read Tim) asking him to come back as Robin)
Tim - superhero stalker - notices and becomes the Robin that steps up 💪 (by this I mean he blackmails Bruce into becoming Robin)
Tim Robin era
(Ed3: Tim and Dick have hallucinations of Jason? For some reason?)
(Ed4: Joker decides that it is a good idea to taunt Nightwing with Jason's death. He was wrong, Nightwing beats him to death, as he should)
Jason comes back from the dead, because... of an act of God? Idk, (Ed4) but guess who's back, back again (Ed4: apparently there's something called "Lazarus Pit", that's what he uses, whatever the fuck that is, wasn't Lazarus the friend of Jesus that he literally ressure- oh wait I'm seeing a pattern here. Who knew that knowing the bible was gonna be useful here)
Jason is used as a weapon against batman (still trying to verify the truth of this one)
Jason becomes a crime lord that takes down other crime lords aka Redhood
(Ed3: Jason beats the shit out of Tim in a Robin costume to prove that he's the better Robin and when he asks half-dead-Tim about it he just says no? Wild shit and I love this)
Even more mentor/mentee shenanigans
Batman dies???????
Tim tries to bring him back (intrepert that however you want) (Ed15: and that interpretation is that Batman is lost in the "timestream". Whatever the fuck that means (Actually I'm very curious, I love different takes on how time works in different universes))
(Ed15: in this time he also fucks with the League of assassins (super villain league lead by Ra's Al Ghaul (aka Damian's grandpa)) and they fuck back because apparently that man sends a woman to rape Tim so he can have a new heir because Damian was not on their side anymore??? wtf????, also they took his spleen, somehow, I need to say this arc seems very concerning)
Tim gets replaced by Damien who just shows up at their doorstep one day I guess (Ed3: somehow Stephanie Robin era happens between this two but I'm still trying to figure out how when where or why) (Ed4: still not sure how it happens but I now know it lasted a week)
Damien Robin era
Tim manages to bring batman back (seriously, was it a "he's not really dead kinda situation", did he perform some satanic ritual, what happened?) (Ed15) But not his position, hey yo!
Tim gets promoted to red Robin, which from what I understood is basically Dick's Robin (which is cute, full circle moment)
Father/son bonding time through fighting crime
(Ed3: Jason retires from Redhood? Not sure how true this is)
(Ed3: Also, gotta mention this incidents even though I have no idea when they are
STEPHANIE, DAMIEN AND TIM ALL DIE AT SOME POINT? WHAT IS IT WITH THIS FAMILY AND DYING)
Where is Stephanie's era you may ask? Idk I know she's on the younger side so she couldn't have been Dick's replacement and I am pretty sure about the other changes of Robins and I think she's older than Damien so she couldn't have been his replacement. (Ed3: still very unsure on this part) (Ed4)
Will keep you guys updated
Ed3: I feel like the more information I have the more confusing it gets
Ed4: I swear I must sound like this in this post:

*starts the clown music* my TIKTOK feed is hating on Damian Wayne, my favorite main robin. Yay. Gotta love how he's... Biologically Bruce's... The replacement to Tim and... Bad vibes.
I fucking hate this shut up. This is why I hate Tim at this rate is because I want to get as far away from these fans as possible. Breaking news: Tim stole the title too. Also Tim wasn't even the first person to figure out Bruce's identity. That was Barbara. Cass did it too. Carrie Kelley kinda did it in her own way ffs. I get you're upset that white guy got snubbed, but that's what happens with legacy characters. They get replaced. "he really didn't get the love" oh, and how many runs has he had compared to the other Robins? How has he been allowed to be robin? Maybe he could be an interesting character if y'all would let him fucking grow up but no. He has to be the robin because he's the one rich white guy in the goddamn pantheon. Imagine if people acted this way about Steph. I'm so tired of Tim Drake as a character I wish I could just go delete him from continuity and replace him with Carrie Kelley. "oh but his Robin run only lasted 100 issues" have you ever heard of "women" before? Batgirl 2000 didn't get that far. That's arguably one of the greatest runs in Batfam history. Tim Drake has had constant representation while I don't know when Steph will appear as a main character again. Shut up shut up shut up. I can't scroll through most DC tags BC half the stuff has #tim Drake for some goddamn reason.

hello! I've been reading a lot of your posts on dc media, they are a great read! I hope one day I could make such detailed analysis, yours are really inspirational and makes me have double-takes/ give-a moment-to-think-on the media I watch/ read
Anyway! You talk a lot about Super-characters and Asian representation, what do you think about Kong Kenan's character? As well as how he is currently written in DC Comics? Is there any way you want him to be written differently? How well does his character play with the many themes of Superman?
Oh wow thank you so much! Writing these essays has mostly been for my own sake to get my thoughts out there, but it means a lot to me when my analysis and meta inspires others to do similar and think a bit more critically!
Kong Kenan!!! While I haven't caught up on how he's written lately (I mostly read a handful of the beginning stuff) I could spare some thoughts.
Kong Kenan is the most creative, out of the box and refreshing take on a Superman legacy character. What makes Superfam members struggle to gain traction is that they over-rely on direct family members, clones, alternate universe-selves, and adopted aliens- leaning too hard on the sci fi aspects of Superman and not the grounded politics that make him a resonant character. Kong Kenan meanwhile is just some guy (affectionate) thrusted into power. Even though I love the untapped themes of diaspora and generational loss to Krypton we could get from other Superfam members, it's really refreshing to have a new character not pay that much mind to all that. He's got his own world in China going! It's important for legacy characters to have their own space to breathe, and Kenan ticks all the boxes.
The worldbuilding of his cast system, the stakes surrounding how his powers work, even the way the themes of "Hope" is re-contextualized through his character are just so rich. I think my main critique is just how his original run starts!
The strong and refreshing cast system carry us through it, but the beginning really leans into that respectability "right ideas, wrong extreme methods" MCU villain thing. I get that it's about "being too devoted to the cause that you forget to care for people around you" but it's a bit clumsy when said cause is caring about the rights of people.
Once you get out of that origin starter, the series really picks up to more unique ideas that challenge systems of power so it's worth sticking around for. I still haven't fully read through all of New Super-man, but I'm excited to get back to it when I have the time.
#askjesncin#is it a hot take to say I think Kenan has more attitude than Kon El#except unlike Kon he actually has substance and not just empty 90s stereotypes#but he doesn't get that same fandom because he's not a white boy to be paired with other white boys#jesncin dc meta

Quarterfinals, bracket A, poll 1
Propaganda for Beauyasha: "They’re literally so cool, they could both snap someone’s neck in a second, but then they’d settle down for some nice tea {:"
"their first date involved fighting ninja dogs <;3"
"They spent 500 hours of irl time and uncountable hours in game time pining, and then more being simultaneously cottagecore wives, badass rich-jerk-beating librarians, revenge against all who wronged them, world savers, bar owners, cult starters, cult enders, talking down an eldritch horror, Being eldritch horrors. Then have a canonical "who's touched more tits." argument Yasha flies beau in her wings and catches her, her rage sustaining her love. They're both incredibly silly and got matching tattoos from both their friend/former crush, AND a turtle pirate navigator. Yasha is 6'8" and flys & Beau is 5'4". Yasha surfed on a fucking greatsword into a pit of mad science monsters. Beau has so many moments of badass I genuinely cant pick which one is most awesome to post here for propaganda. Beau is simultaneously one of the head investigators of a group elite librarian ninjas, and also a complete dumbass. She is so cool, and so Not cool at the same time. Yasha is edgy and goth, and plays a Bone Harp! and also collects flowers for her dead wife and is too awkward to look beau in the eyes and once tried to compose a love poem that started "Oh beau beau beau, eyes so blue and hair so shorn on the sides." Their friend set up a "three people, but only 2 beds for them, and then they each, Individually decided they were more comfortable on the floor so as not to share a bed. So they did. Next to eachother. On the floor. Next to an Empty bed."
Propaganda for Harlivy: "Vote Harlivy for one of the oldest wlw ships! Harley Quinn hits things with a baseball bat and Poison Ivy is an ecoterrorist who uses plants to kill oil executives. They've been subtext for a very long time, but recently (last decade or so) they've been canon, and the Harley Quinn animated show focuses on their relationship a lot."

My ''hot'' takes about DC
The reason the word "hot" appears in quotes is I'm not sure if what I'm about to say is truly controversial or if my opinions are one of the most lukewarm there could be.
Number 1. Scarecrow's character (or lack thereof)
I'm confident in saying that it's a fact at this point that if you're not part of the Bat Family, Gotham Sirens (Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Suicide Squad by association with Harley), or the Joker, DC doesn't care about you. They might toss the Riddler a bone if you can call being a butt-monkey that.
Scarecrow is less of a character and more of a writing device when the creators want a character to face their fears but have no idea how to do it, so they'll just have Jonathan spray or inject them with his fear toxin.
On the surface, it's not a bad idea. It's not about the cliche, it's about how it's used. Many times we don't even get to see what the characters are afraid of personally but just some random scary imagery because the writers aren't smart enough to come up with a fear that would fit the character. Remember that one episode of Justice League where Flash has a scary dream that he's moving so fast no one can see him or Hawk Girl wings got tight up and she started falling to her death?
But probably the most frustrating thing is how he gets defeated. When Batman or some other character is done with overcoming their fear, Scarecrow just gets punched or defeated in a different humiliating way. My question is this. What was he doing the whole time his opponent was having their little episode? Was he doing some research and taking notes? Was he trying to get away? Was he getting himself off by watching? What?! And I know Scarecrow isn't as good of a fighter as Batman (although he does know violent dancing unless DC forgot about that) but is it too much to ask for them but up a bit of a fight before going down?
Which brings me to my next point.
2. Double standard in fighting.
I hate the ''Batman just goes around abusing mentally ill people.'' argument. You can like villains, villains can have sympathetic backstories but that doesn't give them a pass to do whatever the hell they want and hurt other people. But I can understand where people might get that idea from. When a comic never shows any people in danger or hurt from the actions of the bad guy, because the writers are pussies, it might look like Batman is overdoing. Especially when the most brutalized are humans with no powers like Joker, Scarecrow, and Riddler. But when Batman fights Bane or Killer Crock it's usually him who gets brutalized. Which makes sense. But don't get me started on a double standard between male villains and female villains. A female villain will never get as bad of a beating as a male villain even when she's done way worse things and has powers which make her a much more dangerous and allow her to tank more hits.
Which is similar to my next pet peeve.
3. ''Dating Catwoman''
Am I the only one who hates when a hero gets horny for a bad guy and lets them get away? As I said before it can be done nicely. It can show how love can change someone for the better. Or a hero going down the bad path. I especially hate it when it's done with the character this cliche was named after. Catwoman most of the time has no backstory explaining why she does what she does. Sometimes she stills from the rich to give to the poor. But most of the time she does it just for fun. In most stories she's in she's shown to be smart, pretty, fit, and all around girlboss. She could work and earn her own money to give to those in need, marry some rich guy, or be a gold digger.

oh baby part three— jj maybank x reader
𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭: “ reader finding out she’s pregnant (with jj) during season 1 events and he freaks out like in a bad way, kinda angsty with whatever ending you want! thanks in advance, love your work : ”
𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: part one | part two | part three
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1.7k
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: throwing up, guns, profanities, mentions of beer.
𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓'𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒆: ....i didn’t know this many people missed this series. seriously. i still can’t believe this event still takes place during the first episode. i’m still trying to think about the logistics of how this will play out...given the events of the show lol.
“Look, I’m callin’ it off. All right?” John B walked out of the Chateau. The sound of Kie’s bongo playing came to a halt. Pope had been watching her intently. Y/N laid out on a lawn chair, watching her boyfriend toss rocks into the yard. She felt tired from last night, the adrenaline causing her to have sleepy eyes for the rest of the night that carried onto the new day. Her body ached.
“Peterkin said, if I stay out of the marsh, she’ll help me with DCS.” John B sounded desperate. Everyone didn’t want John B to get taken away. The glue. John B was the glue to the friend group it seemed. Despite him not being the most level headed, or smartest, everyone looked to him on what to do next.
“And you believe her?” JJ retorted, perched on a surf board.
“Yes, I believe her, JJ.” John B was quick to reply.
“An actual cop, John B. You believed a cop.” JJ snapped. The Maybank’s held an unhealthy relationship against the cops. Always on their backs. Y/N winced at the two boys arguing about John B’s situation.
“All I gotta do is stay out of the marsh for a couple days, then she’ll help me out. It doesn’t help that your ass was the one shooting a gun.”
Kie and Y/N shared a look, Pope looking down at his hands. Both the teenagers had valid points: JJ having a gun wasn’t the best choice of action, but no one wanted to let Topper drown their best friend.
“Kook versus Pogues, they always, always win!” JJ exclaimed before punching a buoy, pacing around the backyard.
“JJ, relax–”
“It’s okay,” Kie added on to Y/N’s comfort.
“No, it’s not okay! That means there’s something valuable down there, and you know it.” Perhaps JJ felt more in need to discover something to help his own life. Something to get away from his father, comfortable clothing, food in the fridge, money for Y/N and the future–whatever that may be, with or without a baby, Y/N’s a part of it. “I know you do. And I understand why you don’t wanna go.” JJ began reasoning with the Pogues.
He faced his direction to Pope, “You’re the golden boy. You got way too much to risk.”
He faced Kiara, “And you–I mean, you’re already rich as fuck anyway. Why would you bother?”
And then he faced Y/N, “You know what it’s like, we need to see what’s down there,” The words wanted to slip off his tongue, for the baby. For the future. The decision still unclear, with no purpose, direction or guidance.
“Y/N, you and me, we got nothin’ to lose!” JJ continued his spiel. JJ did have something to lose in fact, same with Y/N.
Each other.
“I don’t want to talk about this. I don’t want to talk about it.” John B shook his head, completely unenthused about their conversation. Well, until JJ spelled out the plan for him.
Rich kids don’t go into Foster Care.
Y/N thought John B would be smarter to not listen to JJ’s plans. Logically, stealing from your rich boss seemed most definitely wrong. All the steps JJ meticulously thought out were all stupid. John B would get caught, inevitably–whether it be in the marsh, by Ward, and risking his one chance from Foster Care.
Y/N deemed the risk wasn’t worth the reward. At least to say, Y/N failed to make the wisest choices as well.
She found herself sitting on the HMS Pogue, setting up the SCUBA gear for him. Kie and Y/N shook her head as they read the tanks, practically empty.
“Does anyone know how to dive?” Kie looked at her friends, exasperated. All eyes flickered to Y/N, who shook her head. Being on the swim team differed from SCUBA.
“It’s a Kook sport, ain’t it?” JJ looked at Kiara, leaning against a metal pole.
“I’ve read about it before…” Pope trailed off. Kie rolled her eyes and tossed her hands in the air.
After much calculations and arguments, John B volunteered himself. Y/N watched as Kie stressed herself out over John B’s decision. Stealing a quick glance at her boyfriend, he raised his eyebrows and shrugged. Neither of the two knew what was going on between Kie and John B. The kiss on the cheek caused everyone else to share a look. That’s never happened before.
At least it gave Y/N something to think about, other than the baby growing inside of her.
After a month, buds for arms and legs developed, along with the umbilical cord. The heart had been formed, along with webbed fingers and twos. The life inside of Y/N soon formed ears, eyes, liver, and other facial features.
Y/N studied more about babies than she ever did in biology class, thanks to the books from the store she stole.
Y/N’s face turned pale at the sight of the police boat coming in their direction. “Oh my god,” She whispered. Heart palpitations increased. She felt sick.
“Just act normal everyone,” Kie stated, going back into a conversation with Y/N–as if they were already deep in conversation. She could hear her pulse in her ears, especially as the officer came abroad and began spewing questions left and right.
“I’m going to be sick,” Y/N whispered to JJ. He looked at her, questionably. Most of the time, Y/N was able to conceal their motives from the legal authorities. One of the many things JJ loved about Y/N. She could act and she acted well. A façade that she didn’t just steal beers from a gas station while flirting with the attendant, or letting her friends sneak into the junkyard to find some parts to fix the van.
“Everything okay over there?” The officer asked, before peering over the front of the boat into the water.
“Just–just peachy,” Y/N smiled weakly. Her acting quickly failing, she felt her stomach grumble and tightening. She gracefully found herself over the edge of the HMS Pogue, throwing up into the water. Everyone grimaced at the sight, JJ trying his best to hold her hair up.
Poor John B, Y/N thought. Hopefully he wasn’t on that side of the boat. At least it prevented the officer from investigating the water.
“I just have bad sea sickness,” She announced to the officer, after wiping her face. The two officers shared a look, followed by disgust.
“All right then, just let us know if you see anything out there.” He stated, walking over onto his boat. The engine started.
“Will do,” Echoed from Pope and JJ. The waited as the officers cruised away before glancing over the side of the boat. John B must’ve ran out of air by that time.
“How did it go down there?” JJ asked.
“Well,” The Pogues assisted John B back onto the boat, unloading the gear off of him as he tossed a case onto the boat.
“Y/N scared the cops off with some gnarly acting, being seasick.” Pope grimaced, yet sounding proud of her ‘skills’. Relief washed over Y/N, at least it was in character for her. Kie didn’t believe the acting though.
In the distance, Y/N noticed another boat in the ‘closed off’ marsh. “Guys? Bogey, two o’clock.”
Turning heads, a boat sped their way. None of the Pogues were able to recognize that boat. It wasn’t any of the Kooks–they’d have something fancier–for sure. JJ began pulling on the bowline and kept an eye on the boat speeding ahead.
“I think we should start going, guys!” Y/N exclaimed.
“Don’t wait on me!” JJ continued to pull on the line and the engine kicks on.
“Just act natural, again!” Kie spoke, before holding onto the metal bar. Y/N glanced backwards at the strangers.
“They’re speeding up to us, guys.”
“What?”
“How else do you want me to word it, John B? They’re revving the engine to get closer to us?” Y/N spoke of sarcasm. JJ chewed on his cheek, holding back a smile.
“I’m going!” He argued back.
“They’re following us!” Kie panicked.
“Gun the fucking boat, JB!” Her nerves crept on her, shouting at John B. She watched the strange men follow from several feet behind, creating quite the wake in the Marsh. As the curve the corner, Y/N eyes widened.
“Holy shit, they have a gun!” The words sputtered out of her mouth, not fast enough before the first bullet shot into the air. Y/N slipped down off the seat, covering her head from the action to protect herself.
What the fuck.
All the Pogues got down, while John B continued to speed off. JJ made sure to cover Y/N with his body to protect her. To protect them. Just in case.
This shouldn’t be happening.
“We’re going to die!” Pope shared his feelings before Kie got an idea. She grabbed a fishing net before tossing it in the water, avoiding shots in the process. The net caught onto the follower’s engine, stuttering and whirring.
“That was insane!” Kie laughed, in disbelief.
“Booooyeah!” JJ shouted, enjoying the rush of adrenaline pumping through him. Pope looked relieved and looked at Y/N, who sat there–complexion of a ghost. He watched his friend for several moments, taking note how she didn’t celebrated and how she cradled her abdomen. No blood. No injuries. Yet, she reeked of consternation.
Out of character–Y/N would be cheering as well, throwing her arms in the air before letting JJ plant a big kiss on her. Or maybe she’d suggest celebrating with a pack of beer and music around the fire. Poking at Kie to get free food at the Wreck. Instead, she remained silent for the rest of the ride back to the dock. Last to leave the boat as they emptied the secret treasure, only to reveal a canister with a compass in it. Disappoint filled the atmosphere, killing everyone’s anticipation.
Except John B’s.
“It’s my father’s,”

TIME TO LOVE STEPHANIE BROWN aka SPOILER
She deserves JUSTICE!
Greek Goddesses! Another character that earned a love post from me, she needs the love, she DESERVES to be loved 💜💜💜 (spoiler alert, this post will be a loooooooooong 😅 )
I found out about her and other characters thanks to the wholesome slice of life comic Batman: family Wayne adventures months ago (I've been a DC Batman fan since I was a kid but I mostly watched shows that didn't include said characters before starting with the comics) and I fell in love with her, I mean she is all purple and her hero name is SPOILER 💘 so she could jump on criminals and say things like: SPOILER ALERT YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET BUSTED 👊😂 HELLO? INSTANT LOVE 💘and then I searched for her, read a lot of comics... and learned SOOO many outrageous things!🤬 Welcome to Hypocrisyland 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. Here comes the RANT:
So she was an independent girl who made herself the Spoiler persona to "spoil" her wannabe Riddle father's evil deeds and she was a bit morally gray and cynical and wasn't particularly trying to be a hero or a vigilante and then after meeting Robin she started to change her mind inspired by HIM so all her thing started completely separated from Batman and technically it was by associating herself with Tim/Robin that at some point she started to want Batman's approval too and started the whole "fight to prove that I deserve a place here" thing but I think the amount of disrespect this girl faced is ridiculous! Treated like she was hopeless, useless, stupid etc... is she a punching bag? Treated like shit by so many characters for no good reason 😡 and I didn't see any satisfying consequence on them because of it, it was as if the way they treated her was justified because... I don't know, she was compared to Jason, to Dick, to Tim and to Barbara but when is only about her own person she wasn't good enough so they were hysterical about her hurting herself or dying faster than any of them 🙄, so everything is justified because they were worried?
Sorry but NO, I don't care if she isn't as skillful as characters like Cassandra or Damian that were raised to be living killing weapons by assassins or that she isn't intelligent genius detective level with a rich live background that could afford special ttraining like Tim or Batman himself, that she isn't some erudite engineer to build herself taser weapons like Harper Row or a suit flying armor like Luke Fox, that she doesn't have military training like Kate Kane, that she doesn't have hacker skills or a cop dad as Barbara Gordon, or she doesn't have powers like Duke or wasn't trained by ninjas like Selina Kyle or that she started only having good grades at gymnastics instead of having been raised in a circus by acrobats like Dick Grayson... I DON'T CARE, because she had a lot of qualities to start from Zero to Hero that are probably a lot more relatable than the other characters, most people don't have third rate criminal fathers but still she is a lot closer to the normal people than other characters and that makes her great, she is so resourceful even thought that unlike Batman and Tim she comes from poverty and can't get high tech stuff, yet she made herself a costume and helped take down her criminal father in a low budget! How come her resourceness in her situation wasn't impressive to them? How come that she had to endure being dismissed and underestimated constantly over and over until her death? It was exhausting to see! The fact that she started being resentful towards her father and wanted more revenge than justice is enough to ditch her as a hero? (Maybe the Avengers would have welcomed her better in that case 🙄) How much she had to train until the writers stopped making her look unfit and unworthy despite everything?
I don't get why they decided to make everyone around her be an asshole, a jerk, a hypocrite... Specially Tim and Batman (the AUDACITY of these two! Batman "fired" Her from being Spoiler like she being Spoiler had anything to do with him in the first place, entitlement much? Robin mantle I get it but The Spoiler mantle was hers from the beginning he can't fire her from it and then Tim went to comfort her, ironic since he kept telling her to hang the suit all the time, he also said being a Teen Titan was out her league when she was offered a place and told her she can't speak for herself, seriously you fucking jerk? Does he think he is Dick Grayson or what? 😒 the entitlement is spreading! and later when he became Red Robin he DEMANDED her to never be Spoiler again... Oh FUCK YOU 🖕🤬, mister "I discovered your secret so now you have to hire me as Robin" Worse part of that is that he said that after finding out things she was doing on Batman's orders wtf? So is bad always no matter if she disobeys or obeys Batman she can't win) They even made my dear Alfred be cold with at first because "she hurt Tim" but it was actually Batman's fault because he told her his secret 😤 well at least that treatment didn't last, bless Alfred for crying after her death when Dick asked about her and being so happy to see her alive he lose his British.
Why they hated her so much to the point they just doomed her to a horrible death that wasn't even heroic? She was tortured for days after provoking a gang war following one of Batman's plans trying to gain his trust back after he fired her from being his Robin for only 2 months! 🤬 2 miserable months!! because she disobeyed him (sure, sure, no other Robin BEFORE and AFTER her has ever disobeyed Bats orders right? 🙄) and the last person she sees before dying is him who was always comparing her to her male predecessors because he didn't like she was more questioning than them and then lied to her dying face about considering her a real Robin (by the way it felt so wrong that she became Robin out of spite because she saw a girl kissing Tim and she assumed he was cheating... I mean I can't blame her he did CHEAT on his first girlfriend with her, boy I hate this kind of teen drama) . They said it was "unclear" If he was telling the truth, HA! PLEASE. 🙄Of course he is not going to tell the ugly truth to a dying girl (he even "insulted" Her once saying she fights like a girl, wtf? She should have tell on him to Dinah lance) The ones who should have been there were Cassandra and Tim they actually did considered her a Robin, yep even Tim (he even mentioned a few positive things about her time being Robin) after he retook the mantle, they at least loved her! Even if they wronged her at least there was no doubt that they loved her... (Even if Tim's grief for her was short and too dry! 😡, They wanted people to forget about her so hard he was already having new love interests when not even a year passed, he suffered a lot more with his father and Superboy's death than with Stephanie 🤬, at least Cass cried and dreamed about her and thankfully Alfred and Barbara cried for her too even when they weren't that close to her at that time) Because seriously, this was a pitiful sad death, not bothering in making it a sacrifice or falling on combat saving someone noooo, she died after making a huge mistake trying to impress someone who never actually seemed to like her at all! In a gruesome and kinda sexualized way, nobody came to rescue her... Batman only showed up to pick her up after she escaped alone and tell her pretty lies before dying.
What a fucking Joke 🤦♀️ how humiliating for a character with a hell lot of potential WASTED! She didn't even get a memorial in the Batcave like Jason! Both their deaths were meant to be permanent but the comics only wanted you to remember Jason but not about Stephanie! Like he never existed! (And later the lame excuse for it🙄, like Batman suspected she wasn't really dead but he didn't tell Tim or Cass about that suspicion? None of them confronted him about the lack of memorial of her? Wouldn't they demand a memorial of a girl that meant a lot to them? He suspected she was alive but he never care to find her?🙄😑 Talk about crappy, tacky writing) it's like the character was thrown like garbage... Indeed that's what they intended to, her death was supposed to be permanent but fortunately for us fans rioted to demand her return very rightfully! 😤 and... Her return was still rushed, lame and lazy 😒 and they forgot to add a LOT of characters reactions seeing her alive 🤦♀️, like not even Cass??? I searched and never found a comic with her reaction after finding out she was alive! All out of camera, I hate that, is just so TACKY! Not an epic death and not proper comeback 😬😬
But then we had her run as the third Batgirl! Her solo as Batgirl did a lot of good for her character, with the exception of a few things I disliked like: her interaction with Catwoman that didn't make sense with how they met in the gangs war or that once again Batman has to have all the credit 🙄 because at the end he comes back from a not actual death and it turns out the whole make her a Batgirl was his doing and not Cassandra's doing😑 that would have been better because later they could rub it on his face but they couldn't because it was his idea 😬 but hey at least she got to SLAP him 🤣👏👏 that was epic BRAVO! Ahh that solo lasted too little! She got to put Tim in his place, she became friends with Supergirl and bonded with Damian as a big sister, I swear she should have spent more time with them, she demonstrated her bravery and willpower when she kicked the Scarecrow ass, finally earning Barbara's respect and admiration after she was so bitchy with her, its always so satisfying seeing characters standing up for her after so much mistreatment (i guess she had mixed feelings with the fact that Stephanie is a Batgirl that resembles more to her, Dick also mentioned that and thankfully he stopped being a jerk hypocrite with her too) and did I a mention that she FUCKING SLAPPED BATMAN? Because that is extremely important 😂 and Alfred defended her calling Bruce out in his bullshit test. Then for some stupid out of the blue reason she retired for a year... AFTER ALL SHE WENT THROUGH TO EARN THAT MANTLE? 🤬🤬🤬. Anyway she had to take the mantle back because she was chosen for some tournament where she had to fight Catman and there was Tim again looking down on her 🙄 "why weren't we chosen Cass we are better fighters she is a year out of shape" (Yeah who the fuck decided to make her hang the cape after everything? 🤡) at least Cass defended her saying that she is unpredictable, not like when they were training (Steph was still death) and out of the blue she unnecessarily tells him "you learn fast not like my last student" Really? I recall you enjoying training her 🙄 Sure Cassandra cried and dreamed of her but she used to look down on her a lot, the way she knocked her out in after being fired from being Robin was something we never see her apologize for, it was swept under the rug like never happened, Steph never confronted her about it even though she left her feeling betrayed 🤦♀️ and then besties again like nothing 😒. But at least she punched Tim for being an imbecile and then they got together again, so lovely, so happy, she was finally getting respect... BOOM: the new 52 reboot happened. 😃😃
The only thing I liked was that she got triple nunchakus as a personal weapon and that way she doesn't copy Robin's stick and the fact that she went through teen pregnancy and had to give up the baby because I hated that lazy plot that was only meant to make her and Tim have a closer relationship is not canon anymore(they really couldn't think of anything else to deepen their relationship than making her go through that pain so he could support her?😒🤦♀️ besides, she had a traumatic sexual assault experience as a child so I find hard to believe she would let herself get pregnant with the scumbag she dated before Tim, I hard to believe she didn't dumped him until he abandoned her in the earthquake) but her origin and relationship with Tim was erased along her time as Robin and as Batgirl(even thought that somehow thankfully now is canon again)and other character named Harper basically took a bit of Steph and Cassandra stories, mixed them and made them her own... pretty lame because Harper's concept was actually cool but she taking their place wasn't cool she also was the one to befriend Cassandra and had a conection with her first instead of Steph and the one who had to fight to be allowed to be a vigilante by Batman instead of her and she was the one that convinced Steph to join the fight instead of Steph wanting to do it by herself but the thing that infuriates me the most in this reboot was that she was accepted into the batfamily without much problem but altmost inmidiatly they made her go against them and againts Batman that this time wasn't being an asshole to her due to the apparent death of Tim Drake, Batman was even being affectionate with her, that hug he gave her to comfort her was precious 🥺 and so satisfying to see but then they had to ruin everything by making her be unreasonable and insufferable to create cheap drama 🤦♀️, now that she got the only thing she wanted pre reboot they make her want to walk away?🤡🤡🤡 not to mention I was already pissed of that in her solo as Batgirl they forgot what kind of interaction she had with Catwoman, basically Selina was the last person who was sweet and kind to her before she was killed, it would have been nice to see a proper reaction to her come back but the reboot made things worse! Selina was bitchy and mean to Steph even if she gave her some acknowledgement to her talent but she refused to grant my wish of training her and instead she was trained by the second Catwoman that honesty was disappointed but not that bad because I will like any character that would want to help Steph and Eiko (2° Catwoman) took her in for a while and bothered to teach her something so KUDOS 👍 for her! And Cassandra, Dinah and Barbara too.
And well I'm going to stop the rant here because aside of Tim dumping her and treating her shitty for no reason when they were finally happy so he could be with a random background NPC boy nobody cared about or even remembered so he could prove his bisexuality 😑😑😑, in general things are finally getting good for her: she is finally fully recognized as a Robin and she got another solo with Cassandra and Barbara as Batgirls that wasn't as good as the first one but it was nice and apparently she is now going to have her own team of young superheroes in a new comic.
I wanted to make an statement about things I like about her, the need to make her interact with other characters I think she would get along and my new Ship with her and Jason but all that will have their owns individual posts because I already wrote too much here, if you read it all thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏❤❤ if you felt offended or disagreed with something I said I apologize but remember that this is just the random opinion of a random Tumblr user so... See you in my next posts 😘💋💋

For the character ranking thing, jinx, caitlyn, ellie, raven, cassandra cain
5 ellie - I loved the show I like the games but when I know a character first through my grilfriend I consider them a blorb9 in law, like claire redfield and alice liddell are also my blorbos in law. my girlfriend could take them in the divorce and for the rest of my life I would resent seeing any mention of these games because I'm a scorpio so that lowers ellies ranking
4 raven - I love raven, her and batman are my ogs, they both changed something permanently in my elementary school brain and it never recovered. however, i hate modern raven so much, like fellow mutual momo strongest raven fan warrior is able to keep up but I dont have her powerful autism so i only feel hate and i wish dc the worst for that. god i fucking hate bbrae too i would stage a coup at the hq just to fix raven. I wish somebody brought back the new teen titans design, keep the saris and keep everything, just make her desi, people will complain and get over it like they got over miles and we got spiderverse out of that so. take her out of the titans cause im sorry, I'm a titans fan but this is a sinking ship, every book is a heavier flop than the previous one, im going to save my girl. have her cameo in other shit and be like omg im on my own whatever and test her dynamic with other characters, find her a new place in dc universe and then i think you could have a banger team book on your hands because she does the best in teams. I do selfishly wish that place was more near magic users books because i think that would be so much more slay for her to show her powers than having her faint all the time because she could easily defeat a divorcee in spandex and we have 20 pages to fill
3 caitlyn - caitlyn is my OG main which you might not realise because in so jinxpilled these days but I played her through high school (never left bronze <3 still haven't left bronze <3). so you can only imagine my joy when they made her a 6'1 dyke with a tooth gap AND they kept her big boobs, I've been winning ever since. I think I'm one of like five caitlyn stans maybe tho, every caitvi shipper seems to either like vi more or want to fuck vi more and outside caitvi circles no one really likes caitlyn. which is fair because she's rich and a cop so i can't defend her but I like that she's always struggling because of her own stupidity and is constantly challenged. when someone says she's wrong and she does that frowny face, she's so sexy to me, I love a stubborn bitch. she's also autistic to me, I'm just saying it because no one ever has caitlyn headcanons. I also LOVE league caitlyn, i think league caitlyn is 80% of the reason why domme mommy caitlyn is so popular because she IS a domme mommy. fantastic legend of runeterra card too
2 jinx - i know its a travesty she's not #1 but the tea is, i just didnt like her in like 2014 dhshsj i don't like jokeresque characters usually, i think it's a noring iverused tropes that only pretends to be interesting with fake depth and quirky randomness, I'm sorry. but you CAN make it good and i think arcane gave her such a strong comeback for me, I'm fond of league jinx too now, like I've grown to appreciate her even if I dont find her OG release that good. jinx gets the best promo materials tho, maybe outside of KDA girlies. GREAT legends of runeterra card, i maxed out her skill in the path of champions and I've played with many other decks in this game so believe me when I say, level 3 jinx is so OP its baffling. play her path of champions before they nerf her cause they just nerfed her in league a lil shshjsis. I have to stop typing because i took an edible and i could talk about jinx all day like the way they balance her storyline perfectly, the fact that every storyline goes back to jinx, her energy like im biased but sorry she is a scene stealer. her potential, the way every single dynamic she has with every character could be so good BECAUSE she has those plot connections, also i think her voice lines and arcane dialogue are really good, she has a very distinct style of speaking. both voice acting in the game and the show are great (pls look up her death voicelines they are so funny) but ella purnell??? I had no clue who she was before arcane and now i watch everything she's in. get jinxed was made by djerv which is a GREAT band too
1 cassandra cain - she is forever my dc rising star like i see who you are, i see your potential and i will blow up dc headquarters for you. I'm keeping her at #1 cause she deserves it but I'm so sorry when I recommend you the solo and the art looks like that, in my head it doesn't, love is blind. PLEASE look up the batgirl vs joker issue drawn by bill sienkiewicz tho, she is so beautiful in it kiss kiss. she is literally just if batman served extreme levels of cunt in every move. her backstory is batshit, she is my favorite portrayal of suicidality because it proves you can write those themes without being corny as fuck, just like jinx she has great fascinating dynamics with every other character. unlike jinx, it's because she stands out, she's barely connected to other characters which I think makes her kind of cooler like she's this super weird shadowy being you're kind of friends or coworkers with. pure cuntress
and the thing that hurts the most is that if that solo launched with modern art now I think it would find a good market because hear me out. every comic book is cursed now because no one knows how to write dialogue or understand cinematography or design but they sure know how to write monologues so you lose eyesight trying to read a lot of words about nothing on tiny panels. which cass' solo does not do becauee the dialogue is quite minimal even later on, it relies on visually striking and easy to read panels which are fantastically shareable on social media to entice people to read the book. plus I just watched mad max furiosa in the cinema and I was thinking we really have a trend of feral young women with an older mentor figure that sucks as a person and cass. CASS HAS THREE. and a cunty as fuck mother. I know this shit would sell and if it found a good market maybe it wouldn't end so fucking badly
give me five ships, characters, or shows and I will rank them from my favorite to my least favorite.

Another point of view on Arthur/Joker's duality and how they handled it
Sorry my English is not perfect
I am watching Harley Quinn the animated series and there is this episode where even this evil Joker gets the chance of having an happy life, and Todd Philipps denied our Arthur this opportunity!
I got the message and point of the sequel but I can't get over how they treated and destroyed our Arthur, and never will. He would deserve so much better.
Watching this sequel makes me think a mentally ill, sensitive, caring person will never find connection, respect and love. I get unfortunately it is often true in real life and cinema is not supposed to comfort people as a mission, but c'mon, it was our Arthur!! We were fond of him!
For the Arthur/Joker duality... It is true unfortunately there are many people who watched the first movie and don't even remember the name Arthur Fleck, and that mostly comic DC lovers wanted only Joker. We know most people are shallow. But that's not how we all are! When I watched the first movie on theater when it was released I wasn't into DC comics, Batman and Joker, I fell in love with Arthur and I fell in love with his Joker. And all I wanted was to see Arthur winning and giving people what they deserved, because he endured so many things in his life.
You can't be surprised at people loving his Joker side when you represent in the first movie his Joker side as him finally getting self confidence as he deserves, because that man (Arthur) is nothing but a great person. And as him finally standing up for himself and getting his revenge on evil people (plus I also love revenge movies, btw).
His Joker was never evil, it was him defending himself. So it already was not the comic classic Joker, even if he would not reject that part of him like he did in the sequel.
The society put on him sociological issues (like the "eat the rich" thing)? Well, he only wanted to be loved and cared for, he struggled with mental health issues, sure, but also the fact his personal issues have their roots on how society deals with mentally illness is true, and it is pointed out many times in the movie. So it's not only a matter of personal identity, but also a matter of society issues, because he was poor, not supported by anyone, surrounded by carelessness and ignorance. I do understand those who say he was too much subversive for the elite.
In the sequel Todd made him chose to always be hopeful, he says, which is a beautiful thing, but c'mon, we can't see him suffering and being destroyed for 2hours+. And if you (Todd) say me he was in peace and happy leaving the world I feel you are kidding me. And I think it was better he was truly evil if that means it would have saved him. And that you didn't want him to become a symbol not to preserve his humanity but because he would be a menace if people without money and power looked up to him. (like some say, he was too much subversive for the elite)
You are basically saying to those people that are without money and power (and plus a mental illness in some cases) "that's life, that's how the world works and there's nothing you can do."
To be honest I prefer movies that are braver or at least cathartic. (like the first one)

Book 58 of 2024: The Monsters We Defy by Leslye Penelope
Clara can talk to ghosts. She uses this gift to help people out, when she can--although far too many people end up taking deals with spirits that come at enormous cost (every Gift comes with a Trick). Just like Clara herself did years ago, at her most desperate hour. Now Clara's being offered a new deal: steal a magical ring from a gangster's opera singer girlfriend, and the spirit known as the Empress will erase her old bargain (both Gift and Trick) and those of anyone who helps her. So she puts together a crew of oddballs with useful Gifts, and they start working on a heist. This is a fantastic fantasy, set in Prohibition-era DC, with an all-Black cast. The stakes are high, the characters are vividly drawn, the worldbuilding is rich and interesting--I loved this one.
What to read next: Siren Queen, by Nghi Vo, for another rich and emotional Jazz Age fantasy that's all about deals with devils.

Great Guitarists 100 - Brian May, Angus Young, Johnny Ramone, and Tom Verlaine [CROSSBEAT (November 2009)]
Brian May An essential part of the Brian May story is his self-made guitar, known as the 'Red Special' because of its red body. It was completed by the 16-year-old and his father, who was an engineer, using wood from a century-old fireplace, and attracted a lot of attention at the time of Queen's debut as a 'magic guitar' that could produce violin and horn sounds in addition to the original sound of the guitar. The sound was ridiculed as that of a synthesiser, so it is famous that the band always stated 'no synthesiser' on their early albums. His two albums, 'Sheer Heart Attack', with its Tsugaru shamisen-like interplay, and 'A Night at the Opera', which includes the classic 'Bohemian Rhapsody', a jazz band-style clarinet and even the British national anthem, are two of his best-known albums. A masterpiece where you can enjoy "guitar orchestration". His solo work 'Back to the Light', you can hear the relaxed and unique tearful phrases typical of his love of Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. It's also unique in that he uses a sixpence coin to produce it, rather than a regular pick. There are many artists who have been influenced by him not only in the guitar but also in the construction of the sound world, such as Green Day and My Chemical Romance for the dramatic side, and Foo Fighters for the hard rock side of his music. -Ikuyo Kotani

Angus Young Today he is universally recognised as a "rock 'n' roll guitar icon", but it wasn't that long ago that the true nature of Angus Young's guitar playing came to be appreciated in its own right. That's because AC/DC were treated as more metal than they should have been. They were too classically uninspired to be called heavy metal, and their playing was too bluesy and dated to be classified as punk. Therefore, I don't think his playing has ever been properly introduced, especially in countries like Japan, which likes to define its own musical categories. The source of Angus' playing can be traced back to the British beat of the 1960s, with blues-tinged garage bands such as the early Stones, The Yardbirds and Them. The Easybeats, with which his own brother George was a member, were also active in the mod circles at the time. The musical elements thus imbibed were even closer to pub rock than metal, so much so, in fact, that when AC/DC first entered the UK, the record company tried to market them as a punk band. His ironclad riff playing became a standard hip-hop sampling after the heyday of metal in the 70s and 80s, and has been found universal by the grunge generation of the 90s and the new garage generation of the 00s. -Sawada Taiyo

Johnny Ramone A combination of gruff down-picking and concise riffs, no wonder he used to be a bassist. Of course, he doesn't play guitar solos. It's not that he had an idea, it's just that when he formed the band, that's all he could do, I suppose. But by mastering the only thing they could do, it became their unique personality. And what Johnny Ramone had done became the theory that "when you play punk, you need taste and guts, not necessarily technique". He is credited with getting a lot of young people to pick up the guitar and say, "If that's the case." To get an idea of the Ramones' rich musicality, it is necessary to listen to their mid- and late-period works. However, when it comes to the charm of the guitar, the three early albums with their bare-bones sound, namely 'Ramones', 'Leave Home' and 'Rocket to Russia', are the best examples of this. The Ramones' sound was perfected with these three albums and never rusted over the next two decades. No, on the contrary, it is now established as the Ramones punk genre. It goes without saying that the core of the band is Johnny's playing, who has been playing Mosrite guitars all his life. -Tomoo Yamaguchi

Tom Verlaine Television was one of the leading figures of 70s New York punk, and had a huge influence on the later grunge/alternate and post-punk revival. The band released only two original albums and a live album before reuniting in 1992, and at the time sales were lacklustre, but today they are a charismatic presence that is recognised by all. The main attraction of the band was Tom Verlaine's innovative guitar sound. His trademarks were the Fender Jazzmaster and Jaguar. At a time when Gibson Les Pauls and Fender Stratocasters were at their height, these guitars were regarded as somewhat outdated models, but they attracted many musicians with their unique playing style, which involved wiggling the tremolo arm and applying a spasmodic vibrato. The ensemble with another guitarist, Richard Lloyd (who later teamed up with Robert Quine for many great performances), was also a vital part of the band, and their interplay on "Marquee Moon" was particularly impressive. After the band broke up, Tom started his solo career. He took on new challenges such as incorporating reggae into his music, while still delivering a sharp guitar sound. -Takanori Kuroda

9. 10. 20. and 21. for the ask game? 👀
hi anon
9. alr done but i'll do another: bringing jason back into the fold and getting him all buddy-buddy with the other bats in n52. i like him when he's a lone operator, friendless, haunted by his own death, forever failed by his father and failing him back. he is not calling dick 'Big Bird' or looking out after tim and damian. cass is also not asking him to 'come home'. jason's tragedy is he died. jason's tragedy is he came back.
10. think i did this one too but fanon has soooo many bad takes i will happily give you another: all the bats around/living in wayne manor or the cave. dick, luckily, is somewhat spared from this by virtue of not having lived in the manor for decades but tim and cass are very much not. firstly, this is also a mostly n52 thing, i think- but all of them assembling in the cave before going out on some bust or dealing with an arkham breakout etc. not happening. you could not pay any of those people to be in the same room, especially jason. they're all supremely stubborn people who often bring out the worst in each other. don't get me wrong, all the bats are capable of being empathetic and supportive but in a situation with batman, surrounded by all his partners and sidekicks, the situation is already explosive by sheer virtue of just being. also, tim would not live in the manor after bruce-quest. dick would've dragged him out by the ear if that happened. steph is not sleeping over at the manor nor does she have her own room. cass very much had her own apartment and even if she didn't live there, she would be at barbara's. in fact, the only people who should be living in wayne manor are damian and bruce. (alfred has been dead for a while but him, too, i guess. also unsure of duke's current living situation because i haven't read modern batman in a very long but feel like he would've dipped after his training). anyway, this is all to say, if there really is a situation that requires all hands on deck, they would not be so cohesive even if they tried to be and none of them would willingly stay over at the manor. if babs had time deal to with them and coordinate them, she would punch a screen in sheer frustration.
20. oooh. probably war games. i was already a little annoyed by how many different comics it spanned over and how much i had to switch between runs but i think the main thing was that it was just toooo long. unnecessarily. some good moments in there, tho.
21. hmm. overhyped isn't the right word, i guess but i don't love how much people treat red robin as tim drake gospel. like it's an excellent comic. yost cares deeply about not only tim but the rest of dc and its continuity and it shows!! it's a very rich and layered comic, taking into account the various connections tim has, the various events that have already occurred or are happening simultaneously. but when i read it, ultimately, it appeared more of a letter to tim's grief. and i loved that!! but i didn't love how it ended- the whole harkness thing, the disillusionment etc. idk something about some of the last few issues just felt off. still a very very good comic, tho.
