I love the Gay Dads AU so much pipipi

There's some thoughts and more drawings under the cut (and there's some mpreg wa)

-I'm not sure how the au works, but it gives me the impression that Ballister was Nimona's dad and then there came Ambrosius as a stepdad, or either they both adopted her and Nimona just took better to Ballister. But I'd go with the first option (unless there's a 'canon' option, in which case please if someone knows pipipi tell me)

-I love them so much you have no idea :'''v this is the sorta AU I create 😭 I'm having a lot of fun pipipi

-Also it makes me kinda sad that some of the drawings where Ambrosius is with Nimona he's got a >:c face on, like he doesn't know what he's doing which is very on brand for new parents but pipipi I want them to get along

-Nimona didn't talk much when she was little but one day she started talking full sentences with a big vocabulary, and then never shut up again.

-Nimona loves Ballister the most and feels the most comfort in his hug, but she has more fun with Ambrosius

-If they had Cyrus (the fankid I made for comic Goldenheart) it'd still be very much an accident and Nimona would be small (under four), and not very happy about it.

-She's definitely jealous and becomes very clingy to Ballister, which he finds adorable when he's not exhausted.

(The idea here was Ambrosius asking whether she'd like a brother or a sister, since she's having a sibling, but I think I phrased it wrong sjdks)

>Ballister and Ambrosius do their best for her to not feel left out, but when Cyrus' born she's not as jealous as they thought, and it seems that she actually likes him (but she doesn't let him touch any of her sea animal toys)

-Also Nimona wasn't told that her little brother was being born that day until later when Meredith was looking after her.

-There's a video of a little kid with his newborn sister (I assume) in his arms and he says 'she doesn't have any arms 😦', so imagine that Nimona thought the same thing and given that Cyrus' hair is black too, she thought that her baby brother looked just like her dad 😭

-Also here's the two babies bc I love them, thinking that they'd be the sort of siblings with a small age gap that fight a lot but also love each other a lot

i looooove pokémon npcs whose team members subtly imply something about them that's never touched upon in the story or at least never outright said. i love villains having friendship evos. i love trainers who commit hard to one aesthetic or vibe with their team (beyond simply sharing a type) and i love it even better when there's one random exception especially if that's their ace. i love when later down the line someone boxes the cute fun soft baby pokémon they used to have in favor of a seemingly stronger or scarier one to show that they're getting serious. i love when they have a pokémon that's difficult to get and raises lots of questions about them. i love it when the lore behind a pokémon fits the character to a T and i love it even better when it appears to contradict them. give me the story-gameplay harmony but better yet give me what appears to be story-gameplay dissonance but might actually have implications if we're willing to dive deep into it

I've had a HUGE realization

I have been in love with Cyrus for over 3 years, and I still am, and I forever will be. He means a lot to me, and I genuinely believe that if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be here today.

However, I've come to announce that, after a year's worth of soul-searching, I've realized that I love a second character. The character in question? Volo, from Pokémon Legends Arceus.

I'm not going to share all the details about my discovery yet, but I might if I get more comfortable with it. Also, I haven't posted much on this blog this year due to my extensive soul-searching; I apologize for that.

Going forward, I'm going to post both Cyrus and Volo related things, hopefully more frequently (considering I don't accidentally repost FFVII fanart or something on this blog, like THAT one time. If you know, you know 🤣)

Anyway, thanks for reading! It feels great to get that off my chest.

I seriously love the news of Cyrus being originally conceived as an autistic character and its that autism that informs his flawed worldview. It humanizes an otherwise inhuman and underdevloped character. It was something i already headcanoned before but having it confirmed makes me so happy because it kind of highlights the paradox of alexythmia. It can be so hard for autistic people to identify their feelings and emotions but it doesnt mean that they dont feel them. He has a Crobat, which is a friendship evolution. Theres no way he would have gotten his Golbat to evolve if he wasnt building a meaningful connection to it. I like to think that he is bonded to his pokemon but doesnt have the emotional knowledge to identify the feelings that are taking place when he spends time with them. The very thing he claims to hate so much and wants destroyed exists within him because he is only human and trying to stamp it out is impossible. Even the most logical human alive is still only a human with earthly attachments no matter how much they try to run from them
