I hope that having the Mighty Nein around helps the cast help each other with the stagnant parts of Bell’s Hells character arcs.

The Hells are not good at communicating with each other about their faults. Enter Jester, Veth, and Caduceus, who absolutely will call people out on shit without shame or malice.

The Hells have a narrow view of religion. Here’s Yasha, whose god helped her break away from an apocalyptic cult; Caduceus, who was raised in a religious household and likes helping people even when they don’t share his faith; Fjord, who found peace and self-acceptance with guidance from a goddess who asks so little of him; Jester, who somehow has cleric powers from her fey best friend whom she also carries around as her weasel sometimes; and Beau, who doesn’t worship Ioun outright, but still thinks she’s not bad and seeks out a connection at times.

The Hells don’t much care about other people when they talk about what the world should be like. Here’s Caleb, who wanted to turn back time, then got Wish and could do it literally any day he pleased, but has accepted that in order to change from the boy who was willing to kill his parents, he has to be the man that won’t break the world to bring them back. Beau accepted that people can be flawed in how they love, but she couldn’t let that decide whether she or anyone else is worth love or protection; her whole job is about trying to help the people of the Empire when systems don’t care about them. Fjord handed over an eye of Uk’otoa to save Jester’s life, and then immediately got the Nein back together to defeat Uk’otoa rather than let other people suffer the consequences for his choice.

The Hells were sympathetic to the All-Minds-Burn and only really balked at the Weave Mind because there was a controlling group at the top instead of a regular hive mind. Here’s the team that destroyed Cognouza because it turns out hive minds are a great way for despots to directly control a lot of people and use them like resources. Yasha and Caleb also have profound experience with mind control, conditioning, and memory wiping.

The Hells have some serious identity issues that haven’t been addressed because there’s just no time. (Ashton was an aasimar turned into a genasi; Laudna was treated like a Vex voodoo doll by a wizard who hates Vex; Fearne was conceived and sought specifically to be an exaltant vessel for Predathos; Imogen was hidden to avoid that.) Veth was turned into a goblin by a hag, was racist against goblins for years, eventually realized that her racism came from self-hatred for traits she shared with a specific goblin tribe, and got turned back into a halfling thanks to the dedication of her friends. Fjord wrestled with determining who he was before realizing he had to choose, and that didn’t mean there was a right or wrong choice; just that he couldn’t be someone else.

Like, the Nein would be great for some targeted discussion of these points if the Hells let their judgmental bullshit shine through at any point. It’s just a question of whether (a) the cast want to and put in the effort to do that, and (b) how much time they have to spare for those conversations.

MK: has instagram, twitter, tiktok, reddit and tumblr. she uses anonymous or small accounts that never link back to her personally. nobody has found her accounts and it is driving them crazy. doxxes people.

zee: has instagram, tumblr and pinterest. he just posts pictures of himself or of nature that he’s taken. sometimes he gets on instagram live high out of his mind and rambles about the meaning of mankind’s existence for three hours, then it’s radio silence from him for months. he also likes a lot of posts that talk about how confusing gender is, which has led some fans to believe he may not be very cisgender. when asked “Hey Zee, sorry if this is too invasive but are you a boy or are you under the trans umbrella?”, he replied “idk i may be under the umbrella when it rains too hard haha”.

caleb: has instagram, twitter and tiktok. very active on social media and has a large following. he posts motivational gym videos and gets a lot of ‘sigma alpha males’ in his comments, which he deletes and blocks. he likes a lot of cute animal videos, especially cat ones. his most viral video is him with his four kittens and their baby mama.

ripper: has instagram and twitter. used to have reddit but deleted it after getting together with axel. he used to have a large following of mysoginistic boys but he’s deleted his accounts and created new ones to start fresh and try to he more mindful of what he posts. you could say axel has helped his mindset in a lot of ways.

axel: has instagram and twitter. posts pictures of her cats or of her and ripper. she follows some of the previous contestants, including duncan, leshawna, gwen, brick, jo, shawn and jasmine. also posts workout videos and has a lot of incels but also thirsty girls in her comments. people often harrass her or ripper upon finding out they are together because “he doesn’t deserve her” or “she can do better”.

chase: has youtube, instagram, twitter and reddit. fucking insufferable. follows every previous total drama contestant. obnoxious content. lots of hate. videos are made on him and they are not good. hope he dies.

emma: doesn’t have social media; took a break from it and deleted all her accounts after chase’s incel following found her and harrassed her because she left him.

wayne: has instagram. posts pictures and videos about hockey or including him and his friends. his pfp is him and raj at one of their games. he replies to almost every fan that has found his account.

Technically speaking, Caleb did his best to stay out of trouble in school. It wasn’t his fault there were jerks who needed to get punched sometimes. But his mother had firmly informed him that he was supposed to stay away from fights and focus on learning.

So Caleb was doing his best. It had been a couple weeks, and he was kinda proud of how focused he’d been staying. It wasn’t that he was bad at school by any means. But he hated seeing kids get picked on for no reason.

So far, he hadn’t run into any other incidents. He was minding his own business and doing just fine—

The sound of a girl’s furious voice caught his attention, and Caleb glanced down the hallway he was passing, and nearly groaned out loud.

In the middle of the hall, two kids were facing off with Ozai, one of the worst bullies in the school, who was holding up what looked like a notebook. One of them, a boy, was shrinking back, and looked almost near tears—not that Caleb could blame here.

But the other was standing facing him, hands on her hips, a fiery glare in her eyes. “Give. It. Back,” she growled.

Well, kriff good intentions, I guess. Dropping his backpack, Caleb started towards the incident with no clear plan in mind other than possibly punching Ozai’s face in. But the girl moved first.

Faster than Caleb would have expected, she slammed a fist into Ozai’s gut, and the boy doubled over in pain. Snatching the sketchbook from his hand, the girl shouted, “Run!” at her friend, and took off down the hall. Straight toward Caleb.

He saw her gait falter as he moved forward, and knew she was getting ready for a fight. Holding up his hands, he said, “Third door on your right is unlocked. Hide there. I’ll distract him.”

Her eyes widened—striking green eyes, like Caleb had never seen before. “Thanks,” she said, flashing him a smile that quite efficiently stunned him speechless. And then she and her friend were gone.

Does Philip still get kicked to death in the La La Land Machine AU?

Nah Philip doesn't get the punishment he should have in this AU. He definitely believes his life was ruined beyond repair but he actually got off so easy.

He did get fucking beaten to a bloody pulp by Eda after putting his hand on Luz's shoulder. Unfortunately he didn't die. But he's so whiny about it that you'd swear he did.

He considered Hunter disowning him to be a stab in the back that he never really recovered from.

He had a very fucked up relationship with Luz too. They were initially on friendly terms. She looked up to him while he saw a lot of Caleb in her. He actually intended to try to make her the next star in his brother's place if Hunter "didn't work out." So Luz also turning her back on him made him furious.

Rumors of Philip's crimes of child abuse began to circulate and there was definitely plenty of evidence to support it, which led to inevitable controversy and well deserved public admonishment.

However, because Philip was such an influential and inspiring figure, there was also a huge part of the public that chose to believe that he was being slandered.

What can even be said? A celebrity with a good publicist will never face punishment.

It's all a hate campaign devised to tarnish Philip Wittebane's good name! His brother would be rolling in his grave. Hunter Wittebane should be ashamed of himself for spreading these lies. After everything his Uncle has done for him. It's insulting how ungrateful he is.

During this time, Hunter is strongly advised to block all these comments out.

Philip Wittebane dies of heart complications 10 years after he lost custody of his nephew.

The news breaks late at night and Hunter can't put his phone down.

He doesn't really know how to feel.

But seeing his Uncle's name cropping up everywhere online, scrolling through comments about how the world lost a legend today, oh it has him seeing red.

He's well and truly spiraling.

That man should have died from Hunter's fingers squeezing his throat. Instead, he passed away peacefully in a world that blindly loved him.

It's nearly 3am and Willow rolls over in her sleep, arm instinctively reaching out for her boyfriend whose usually lightly snoring beside her.

She finds him in his office, scribbling away in his notebook, manic and agitated.

He's recalling dozens and dozens of stories and frantically jotting them down, all about the things that man put him through.

He doesn't know why he's doing this. To cope? To assure himself that these things truly happened? He just feels like he needs to articulate them for once just to emphasize how not okay this all was.

That's all it is at first. A way for Hunter to come to terms with Philip's death. But in time, it becomes so much more than that.

There was a lot of people that hurt him. And Hunter is telling the story of them all.

It's shaping up to be a legit autobiography.

And of course, if he's going to talk about his life as a teenage boy, he has to mention Willow. Falling in love with her changed everything, how could he not mention it?

But he'd have to provide some context as to how their relationship functioned. And it was impossible to do so without explaining a little more about how she was exploited too.

Hunter doesn't want to tell Willow's story for her. Even if he's still livid about it all these years later. But Willow shrugs and says "Tell my story, Mr Writer. I trust you to do it justice."

And then this project just gets bigger and bigger. And now, with their permission, the book includes the mistreatment of the likes of Gus, Amity etc.

Hunter does not hold back. There are names. There are details.

Two years later, after a lot of smug cryptic tweets from Willow, Hunter's book "The Golden Screen" is published.

By this point in time, people are a lot more willing to accept that famous people are garbage sometimes. Especially Philip Wittebane. Even though he had a controversy over a decade ago, peoples memories are very short when it comes to the moral alignment of celebrities. So yes, people are now conceding that it is very likely that Philip Wittebane was a vile depraved monster.

It's kinda bittersweet. He didn't face the consequences he should have while he was alive. But at least his legacy was burned to ashes.

caleb is a little business boy and his closet would be super organized but also it is literally just various shades of black and gray. all his suits are neatly lined up and there's a few piles of plain shirts, the most color he has at his disposal would be a dark red or blue or green. even his socks are boring :/ but at least he has the personality and the autistic whimsy to make up for it

2) Do they carry a water bottle? Does it have stickers on it?

caleb does carry a water bottle around but it's also a plain and boring one, one of those silver bottles that can also keep something warm in it if necessary. he has only one sticker on it and that's a little name tag so people know it's his bottle because he forgets it EVERYWHERE. people know that he's back from a field mission because his water bottle just keeps mysteriously popping up in seemingly random locations

4) Who do they main in mario kart?

christian has always and will always main yoshi. it's kind of a tradition at this point and if others don't let her pick yoshi she will become even more annoying in-game than she already is

5) What is the most used app in their phone?

christian would honestly rarely use their phone! they mostly use a computer at work or their own laptop because they prefer to look at a bigger screen :] when they Are using their phone it's usually to chat with friends, so whichever chat app would be most common in this universe (i say, as if it's not MY universe) would be the most used one :]

7) Would they enjoy being famous?

glory would NOT enjoy being famous at all. she joined CALAMITY to vanish entirely if anything, and she's living her best life like this. has never liked being in the spotlight and would hate to be put back into it after all the trouble she went through to basically disappear

8) What is their favorite piece of clothing they own?

glory has a very cool dark green mechanic jumpsuit with a bunch of patches on it and she loves it to bits! doesn't wear it in the hangar anymore since it's one of her favorite pieces nowadays and she doesn't wanna risk tearing it or getting it too dirty, but she will often wear it when not on duty :]

14) What is something ridiculous they’d impulse buy?

jackie would impulse buy anything if he's in the right mood for it honestly. it doesn't take much to convince him to buy something because he loves gathering random items to fill his room with :] he does have a lot of random "useful" kitchen supplies that he's never really used because turns out he doesn't actually know how to use them or they're just useless plastic things that don't really do anything LMAO

oh it's a mess. jackie has entirely too many things and he leaves everything anywhere because it's an organized mess and moving anything out of sight will cause it to vanish from existence in his brain. and also nobody else is allowed to touch anything

Duncan's friends: ➵ Friend 1, the teenage girl that was rather impatient with the others, is named Opal Huang. ➵ Friend 3, the teenage boy, is named Tony Green. ➵ Friend 4, the teenage girl that was nervous about the legend, is named Rose Quattro. ➵ As implied in game, Opal and Rose cut off their friendship with Duncan after Sam's disappearance. Old Man Edwards: ➵ Born in 1915, he is one of the oldest locals. now, let’s get more serious here. i don’t know why everything noah does must have some hidden sinister motive. millie, caleb and even jamie have been posting bts content these past few months and nobody over analyses it in the same way that they do with noah. noah isn’t waking up randomly saying “oh the fans hate me, let’s give them will bts content so they can love me again” and chooses to post bts pics because he wants to. every single thing he has posted publicly about the show this year must’ve been coordinated and approved by the netflix. we’re talking about a show that’s spending so much money in security and ndas to avoid leaks and spoilers so i can assure you that they aren’t letting their actors just post stuff for their own selfish reasons. the duffers, before they started filming, mentioned that they would let us see more because it’s the last season and clearly they’ve curated content for us to keep the hype up, and the actors are being instructed as well to do the same. it’s funny that only noah is the attention seeker or the one using his character for redemption here when other actors are also posting bts content. he’s excited about being will for the last time and he’s allowed to.

now let’s talk about byler. let’s make it clear from the beginning that he doesn’t write the show and it’s not clear if he’s got the complete scripts yet. if byler doesn’t happen, it’s not his fault. he clearly likes it, he has liked byler for years and supports the idea but even he has been aware that he doesn’t control the storylines and said at a con that he doesn’t want people to be disappointed if it doesn’t happen. this year he has barely mentioned byler since they started filming and let me say that if there’s a byler pic in his photo dump then it’s there because it was allowed to be there by netflix. let’s not forget that there’s also times people just look for byler in places they shouldn’t and then blame noah. for example when they were snooping on his spotify playlist and making it about byler, that’s obviously not his fault. even in one of his livestreams recently, he literally said “i can’t talk about that” multiple times and didn’t hint at anything and people said it was about byler and honestly that’s not his fault. writing theories is fun and all that but we have to be aware that they are just theories for now.

he’s been mostly posting and talking about his own life recently and he has posted will when he’s been allowed to. you all know that i love byler and i’d love to see it happen but noah doesn’t control it and we all have to be aware of that. we also shouldn’t jump at making conclusions so early because let’s not forget when people were attacking noah after ST4 part 1 came out because will being gay wasn’t clear yet. he tried to clear it up a bit and told people to wait, and some people still attacked him personally and even said that “he doesn’t understand because he’s a straight frat boy” at the time when he was still closeted.

i sometimes honestly dread for the day ST5 comes out if byler doesn’t happen because i know we will get a way worse repeat of that. i also sometimes wish he wouldn’t post so much ST stuff because they same people enjoying all that content also end up attacking him daily for it.

Hi I just wanted to say thank you for putting everything that frustrates me about the fandom’s interpretation of Imogen and Laudna into words. I’ve made a few posts about Imogen’s flaws and how easily she seems to switch loyalties and I’ve been met with so many people telling me I’m not watching the show right or how Imogen isn’t to blame because she’s being controlled by the moon and it’s exhausting. I’ve been wanting to make a post about it but I didn’t know how to phrase it and you articulated pretty everything I’ve been thinking. I’m also planning on writing about the weird misandry in the fandom and how a lot of people don’t like male or male presenting characters if they can’t them their uwu sad white boy of the month and am really interested if you have any thoughts on that. Yeah...I'd agree that it's really tiresome how if you actually want to engage with Imogen as an entire character with motivations and flaws, there's this immediate freakout. It's obnoxious that people seem to think all her impatience, grudges, and little snipes and unkindnesses must come from some other source (the gnarlrock, Ruidus); it can't be her cynicism or being cranky due to exhaustion from holding up her psychic barriers; that only makes her more nurturing and empathetic, apparently). Like, there's all these accusations that people have no empathy for Imogen, coming from people who openly would happily throw every other character (sometimes even including Laudna) from the skyship for the crime of having individual motivations different from Imogen's goals, and I'm very over it.

I would love to see more posts about the misandry, tbh. It's a really tricky subject because like...look, in the real world, misogyny is a load-bearing pillar of oppression not just of women, but one of the core underpinnings of homophobia, transphobia, and toxic masculinity as well. What people call misandry irl is, much of the time, either hatred directed on an individual level rather than a systemic one or is actually oppression of men under a different system (eg, transphobia towards trans or gnc men; racism towards men of color, etc). But in fandom, especially on Tumblr which is overwhelmingly female and/or queer, there is this weird hatred towards men (or, as we've seen a bunch with Ashton, masc-leaning nb people) in fiction for no reason other than they are not women. I'm not linking them here so as to not invite weird shit to the doors of my mutuals but I can think of two very good recent posts that touch on this subject, one from a month or so ago about the fandom tendency to reshape characters in their own (often white middle-class queer) image instead of trying to relate to someone not like you; and one from yesterday that does address fandom misandry directly.

It is interesting because it feels like half of the hatred or weird fanon towards male characters comes from a "well I can't make him into a palatable white sadboy" (trying to turn Orym into The Most Tragic when he is just a guy; ignoring Chetney, Fjord, or Scanlan because they don't fit that mold neatly); and the other half comes from hating the character because he can conceivably be treated as a white sadboy even though he's got much more going on (Vax, Percy, Caleb, sometimes Caduceus). Like, there is really no winning. To be fair, there's also no winning for female characters among people with that mindset (see: the entire post that prompted this, in which they must be Good Examples Of Sweet Unproblematic Women who Chastely Kiss, Pinterest Style) or nb characters (will be misgendered in an instant if they do not support the narrative of the fave or interfere with preferred ships).

I think, generally, once people start judging a fictional character, who lives in a gender-equal world with no transphobia, primarily on the basis of gender, it just turns into a slippery slope of kind of hating every character. I do want to see interesting women in fiction! Part of why I watch actual play is because it is a still relatively rare case where many of the originators of these characters are women who are granted nigh-total creative control over their characters! But I'm not going to write off a character with a personality that speaks to me simply because our genders don't match; that's not interesting to me and it feels far too close to gender essentialism for my comfort. And if you do for whatever reason want to watch actual play that only has female PCs, that is your choice to make...but you then need to find that show instead of being mad that there are men on the show with five men and three women in the main cast.

Okay, I'ma put them in high school cause I can.

Willie is a competitive figure skater and has been doing it since he was like 6. His uncle owns the rink, so he got to try it young and just fell in love.

Alex's parents are frustrated that he isn't growing out of his 'girly interests' (namely dancing and boys), and decided that of course the solution is to get him into a 'manly' sport(gosh I already want to punch them).

So Alex starts learning to play hockey at the same rink Willie practices at.

At first he's very 'get in, get it over with, get out' about the whole thing, but he discovers that he doesn't really mind the skating. The whole slamming into people and getting hit with sticks thing isn't his jam, but the ice is fun. And... somehow he's actually pretty good at hockey? Not as good as he is on drums, but he's pretty fast and hates getting hit and so is good at getting around people.

They meet when Alex is stuck staying late after practice to put stuff away and runs into Willie, who is there for a practice session. They chat for a few minutes, typical Willex meetcute conversation of gay panic, mild oversharing, and both of them leaving kinda smitten.

Soooo maybe Alex starts staying late more often. And Willie starts dropping by early. And they start joking about teaching the other their sport.

Until it's not a joke anymore and Willie got Caleb to let them have the rink for a couple of hours. Neither of them are all that great at the other's sport, especially because of how Willie is used to having toe picks and Alex is used to not having them, but it's a lot of fun. There is lots of falling.

And when they're packing up to leave, Alex is like, "Sooo, would you maybe want to hang out sometime? Like not here?" Does he want to ask Willie out? Yes. Is he terrified to? Also yes.

Willie is like, "Yeah that'd be awesome... like as friends, or...?" Alex is startled but is like, "It can be a friend thing or a... date... thing. Whichever you want."

And Willie of course says yes and they live happily ever after.

Alex's parents are stoked about how much time he's spending at the rink cause they think he's getting really into hockey.

When Alex is headed out to hang with Willie at the rink, he tells his parents that someone else at the rink offered to help him with his skating, since he started learning so late. It's not really a lie. He just doesn't mention that he maybe kisses his 'tutor' from time to time.

Caleb is excited about Willie and Alex cause goodness gracious his nephew needs to get out more. He loves all the medals Willie wins in competitions of course, but the kid needs a social life. And Alex seems like a good kid.

Sometimes the two of them will go on skating dates and pretend to be really bad skaters just for the heck of it. And then Willie will yell, "Race you to the other side," and they'll both take off like a shot and scare everyone around them half to death.

So you're right, none of the hybrids MC adopted had been adopted prior to her. In Trouvaille's society, it is more common for humans to adopt domesticated species of hybrids (like dog, cat, rabbit, etc.) and those particular hybrids would normally scent their adoptive guardian within hours of adoption. In Trouvaille, the "exotic" species that all of the boys happen to be are usually created in labs for the purpose of illegal labor, performing in circuses or stunt shows, or even for sport hunting, so it makes sense that the boys wait until they feel physically sick to scent MC. They have a lot of uncertainty surrounding their futures growing up in a society like that, and truthfully cannot feel entirely secure that MC won't abandon them one day. Scenting is a big deal for hybrids, they are basically staking a claim over the adoptive guardian, so to be abandoned after that would be painful and devastating for them. Even if they sensed their adoptive guardian was a bad person, they wouldn't be able to hold off on scenting them for long- it is an uncontrollable instinctual need. The boys MC adopted waited until they felt just the tiniest bit confident in the fact that she hadn't adopted them to hurt them, but Namjoon is a bit of a different story, which I'm glad you brought up!

Wolf hybrids aren't typically adopted very often in the society Trouvaille operates in, due to the general distrustful and possessive nature of a wolf. Namjoon must have felt an instant, instinctual connection to MC to scent her right away. The instinctual part of his brain wouldn't have triggered his need to scent if she had been a bad person. If we recall back to earlier chapters, Namjoon resisted going home with MC for three days before he reluctantly left the shelter. We also know that Namjoon tends to have an issue processing his emotions, and struggles to sort out what is instinctually wolf and what is intrinsically human when he feels things. Maybe Namjoon was spending this time resisting going home with MC because his instinctual side was screaming at him "this is the one!" Hmmm... many theories to think about! In a nutshell, I think if Namjoon was adopted by the wrong person, he'd make an attempt to escape before he'd ever scent them. (I hope this answered your question!)

AHH I'm so happy you're enjoying the love/hate relationship with MC and her mom! I think that her mother is a little bit of a flaky, free spirit (who means well, and is certainly very loving) and it sometimes clashes with MC's desire to keep things in control; perhaps MC has spent a lot of her life having to be the grown-up....

That Ezra Squall is in any way good or redeemable. This is a divisive opinion in the fandom itself, so not "everyone", but as it stands in the series, I am nottt on board with this yet. If that's the direction Jess wants to take the story, I trust her to do a good job with it, but from what we've been presented of Ezra so far, I don't think he is good nor will become good.

I found the split between "Ezra the boy" and "Ezra the monster" and if those lines blur pretty fun to read, and I'm curious to find out if he has any motivations for the massacre (or any of the other stuff he did) besides power hunger. If it turns out he's just been unfairly villianized, manipulated, or just misunderstood, it'd have to be really well written or I'd be disappointed lol. I simply find him more fun as a villian

Prolly weird to bring this up out of nowhere, since I don't think I've ever spoken about it on Tumblr, but I am indeed a TWD fan.

Shane is a bitch ass motherfucker and not remotely fun to watch. Every second he's on screen he's nothing but a pain in the ass. I love Rick, so whenever he and Rick are arguing (which is constantly), I just want him to SHUTTT UPPPPPP. He keeps wanting to control the group in ways I hated, and is a bit too content with killing people to meet the ends. (For example, when he shoots a guy he's out on a supply run with JUST so the zombies will stop and eat him and let Shane run away?? He could'a just shot them when he'd gotten back on the bus, but nah, he had to kill his companion and wasn't even honest about it to the rest of the group.)

Some people say Rick is like this too, but he doesn't truly get murderous until several seasons of being the leader of a survivor group in a zombie apocalypse. And whenever he gets content with killing people, it's not framed as a good thing, it's a consequence of the stress, hurt, and lack of trust that builds up in the apocalypse. Rick is at his best when he's extending a hand to other survivors. Shane didn't even make it past S2 before being okay with unnecessary killing.

(Do note that sometimes, Rick killing people is a good thing. For example, when a group of men attacked the fam and one man attempted to rape Rick's son, to which he proceeded to rip out one man's throat with his teeth. That was quite cool of him.)

People who like Shane tend to also be unfairly judgemental of Lori, in my experience. Either because she started a relationship with him while being married or because she later wanted to end that relationship.

She started a relationship with him because she believed her husband was dead. Shane was even the one who told her he was. In her eyes, she was single again. It's fine of her to have sex with any other man at this point, and to slowly start viewing him as family, even letting him get close to her son.

When her thought-to-be-dead husband waltzes up to the survivor group, very much alive, though, it's reasonable she would want to be in a relationship with her husband again. It is also reasonable that she doesn't want her apocalypse fling to be a father figure to her son when his actual father turned out to be alive. She isn't unreasonable for ending the relationship with Shane, nor for not wanting him to act as Carl's father anymore. Shane doesn't have any right to act as the father to her son.

There may be other reasons to criticise her (she died pretty early on and I haven't seen TWD in a while so IDK) but if anyone criticizes her for either of these reasons they r wrong <3

Conclusion: Shane was an infuriating character and I'm glad he died

As for what they were like personalitywise, I imagine that Lilith liked to run around and play outside, while Caleb preferred to stay in. He liked to help his mom in the kitchen. Their parents loved and cared for them very much. They weren't perfect; Edward sometimes put pressure on them to succeed at school, and long hours at work meant he sometimes missed Lilith's games and Caleb's recitals. And Artesia drank a lot to cope with her past (losing your parents and then being enslaved in a basement to paint and make money for the Sims upstairs, never to see your sister again, until the right med student happened to pass by the basement window will do that). But they did the best they could to do right by their kids. They played with their cousin Lily a lot, because Lily was almost always over their house, or else they were over hers.

Caleb got picked on a lot in school for...well, everything. He couldn't run as fast as the other kids, and didn't have Lilith's athletic prowess. He did get good grades in most of his classes, though. Most of the time, he was picked last for the team, and he absolutely hated gym class. Lilith always stood up for him and protected him from bullies. When they grew older, all the girls (some of whom had joined the boys in bullying him) started to swoon over him. He did like girls, but he was also noticing that he liked boys, too.

The parents raised them as "Worshippers of the Watcher," and they were always at events in their church/temple/whatever it was. They attended worship every week, plus Watcherian Holy Book study, plus sending Caleb and Lilith to youth group and something akin to Sunday School. Every night they prayed a Simlish version of "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep," said grace before dinner, and everything. They also were not allowed to read Henry Puffer, though they secretly did anyway. And it was a regular occurrence for their leader to come to their home for dinner, seeing as he played golf with Edward a lot. They asked a lot of questions, not all of which were welcome. (They were also troubled by the idea of a supposedly all-loving Watcher...who would subject them to the worst torture imaginable if they didn't get it right, or if they didn't want to be Watcherians anymore, for all eternity. And one day when they were teens, they went down to Granite Falls with their family, and caught their Preacher stepping out of a tall bush with pink-and-purple flowers with a woman who was not his wife, and who was barely older than they were. (Also, they had to have hopped into the bush for a woohoo sesh just after Caleb peed in it. Gross.) Hey, whatever happened to "Woohooing outside of a legally-defined heterosexual marriage is wrong and the Watcher will torture you for all eternity if you do it?" Eventually, Caleb and Lilith pulled away from the Watcherians, which their parents (particularly Edward) were not happy about.

During their teen years, Lilith became a bit of a "wild child." She started doing things like sneaking out to parties, and playing with Ouija boards and Tarot cards. (When Edward found out about this, he was fit to be tied!) She also would sneak alcohol from her parents' liquor cabinet, and even tried marijuana. She was also the first to start "messing around" (aka what teen Sims called "woohooing.") She even had a little brush with the law; she stole a tube of lipstick from the local drugstore, for no real reason, and had to do a bit of community service for it. Caleb didn't make or get in as much trouble as Lilith, but he snuck out to a few parties now and then. And when Edward caught him "messing around" with another boy, he thought he was done for. Edward surprised him by telling him that he loved him and supported his relationships as long as he was happy and safe, and reminding him to always use protection.

Edward was hoping Caleb would follow him into medicine. Truth be told, Caleb wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life; did he want to be a doctor like his dad, or a painter like his mom? Did he want to be a chef like the ones on TV? Did he want to do something else entirely? He wasn't sure. After high school, he planned to take some time off to travel and figure out the answers to these questions. (Artesia fully supported his decision, but Edward wanted him to think more about the future, and particularly for that thinking to involve pre-med at Foxbury, med school, and then being a prestigious doctor like him, with his own practice and everything.) Lilith wanted to be a famous athlete, painting on the side and raising lots of kids. (Surprisingly, she always wanted to be a mother, and though she played outside a lot as a child, she also played with dolls.)

fuck yes worldbuilding for the Huntlow Neverland AU. FUCK yes. love everybody's deals they're so interesting. question: what's the deal with Hunter and Belos? and do you have any backstory ideas for Willow beyond her history with Amity (which i love)? it's interesting that her main friends seem to all NOT be fairies

I dont really know about Belos I don't care about him all that much. What I imagine is that he and Caleb visited Neverland as children. They were orphans and didn't have any other sanctuary besides each other but Neverland seemed like their safe haven. Caleb eventually met a wild and rowdy Lost Boy named Evelyn and he decided that he wanted to return to the mainland with her and grow up. Philip was hurt that his brother wanted to leave the life they had made for themselves here but he reluctantly returned home with them. Real life adult problems commenced, years and years of tension and built up resentment on Philip's end, maybe he got really into religion (???) Caleb and Evelyn got pregnant out of wedlock (???) I dunno, blah blah blah blah stab.

Philip returns to Neverland to hide from his guilt (and the police) and relive his glory days but all it does is fuck up his sanity and now he hates this stupid fucking place with all his heart and soul. Its no longer his escapist fantasy from his boyhood. Its a vile abomination. Its Hell and he needs to destroy it somehow.

He and the Collector have a very weird relationship. It's not really as personally antagonistic as Peter Pan and Hook but rather, Belos is the "bad guy" in the Collector's games, which he obediently plays along with (keeps him alive). However, the Collector is very insistent that games be fair and so, he grants Belos' requests that he always have a Special Player on his team so his chances of winning are better. It makes the games more fun that way anyway.

And so, every few decades, the Collector returns to the mainland to bring Belos his Special Player. Upon his request, its always a baby or young boy that he steals from the nursery of the Wittebane family.

(A family which now believes themselves to be cursed because they so frequently have their children stolen in the night.)

The boys never last long. Belos isn't careful with his playthings and they often die before they even make it to manhood. Sad.

(Also. For reference. The subject of "growing up" on Neverland is kinda slippery. In some variations, Peter was actually the only one capable of remaining young forever, while Lost Boys aged and died all around him. In some variations, everybody who lives on Neverland remains in an ageless state. What we are gonna do in this case is make aging a state of mind. You grow old if you feel old. And honestly, most Neverland dwellers do as time passes. Except King and the Collector. Although, time is very weird here. Sometimes a few years in Neverland is just a few weeks back in the human world.)

As for Willow, I imagine her backstory BEGAN with the fight with Amity. But after that she became a lot more meek and less confident because she felt discarded and unloved. This made it very easy for other fairies (Boscha) to make her a bullying target. Willow is clumsy, Willow can't always control her magic, Willow isn't as fast at flying as Boscha, Willow is this and that and whatever.

Things are tense when Amity appears in Neverland and Willow does not want her there. And then she actually becomes kinda friendly with Boscha which hurts even more cuz Oh. So you don't hate fairies? It's just Willow you hate?? Huh. Good to know.

Her confidence begins to gradually build again after some time spent with Luz, Gus and eventually patching things up with Amity. And then Hunter comes along and he makes her feel like the most wonderful fairy in Neverland.
