*Trigger warning for mention of drug abuse*

The wait from finding out I was pregnant to getting on the plane was almost unbearable. The soonest flight out of Mason’s home in California wasn’t for another two days, and those two days were full of lies. To myself, my work, and probably worst of all - my parents. I promised them I’d be home after a week and a half of spending time with Mason, and now I was supposed to be exploring some sights for an extra two days. Instead, I’m flying to Florida where Harry has been on his songwriting retreat.

Thankfully, I had enough trust in our mutual friend Alex to tell me when it was best to come. I’ve known him for years, having met him back when Pink Nemesis was still together. It took Harry a while to introduce me to any of his fellow bandmates or staff, but he eventually caved and took me to see them for my birthday four years ago. Alex had been the one both Harry and I got along with the most, so it made sense that they’d still be working together even after the band split.

Things are so different now than they were then. It hurts somewhere deep in my chest to think back to last year and everything that happened leading up to the end of the band. It started with one of the members going to rehab for a drug overdose, and following more physical fights than I can count on one hand, the final nail in the coffin was Michael.

Because of what happened, nobody blamed Harry for not being able to pick himself back up and plaster a fake smile for concert after concert. Pink Nemesis breaking up was the last thing he wanted, but he had been the first one to suggest the idea. The rest of the members put up little resistance. After six years of constant albums and world tours, they were drained. And now, everyone who had been a part of the band was almost unrecognizable.

While one member returned to a life of working 9-5 and going to church on Sundays, another went solo almost immediately and crashed and burned. The third stayed somewhere in the middle of it all, collaborating with other artists here and there while also settling down with his soon-to-be wife. Then there was Harry.

After Michael, his only comforts were his guitar and bottles of alcohol. I can still remember all the countless times I tried to pull him out of it. Still hear me screaming at him to look at me. Still feel myself walking away from him when he probably needed it most.

As for me, I expected myself to be far from where I am now. After our breakup, I thought I would be out partying with friends until the sun came up.

I thought I would flirt with guys without a care in the world.

Hell, I even thought maybe I’d find a new fling.

But most importantly of all, I thought I’d learn to fall in love with being alive again.

But I hadn’t done any of that. Instead, I laid in my room crying my heart out when I thought of the fact that Harry and I were over. I remained jobless for over a month just so I could stay home doing nothing all day. I ignored my friends, my family, and the voice telling me that leaving Harry was a mistake.

All of these things had led to this moment. Stepping off the plane and into Alex’s awaiting arms, who is ready to wipe away the tears the moment they fall. I take advantage of the moment of peace being close to him, knowing that all hell would break loose the moment I saw Harry again.

Uh, anyway, Shane is actually besties with Sam (he'd rather die than admit it though) and they constantly do things to spite Joja and Sam can actually get a good reaction from Shane with some of his jokes. Sam and him were kind of awkward at first, but after a while Sam saw him at the saloon one day and went "HEY!! MY BUDDY SHANE!! COME PLAY POOL WITH US!!" so loudly across the building that everyone turned to stare and Shane almost sped-walked out of the place out of embarrassment (he def stayed and played pool but kept his head down to avoid stares).

Sam constantly talks about funny things Shane does and Abigail and Sebastian are like, "??? The quiet, grumpy town drunk??" But after Sam dragged Shane into so many pool games, Shane loosened up and started a tournament with the old arcade games between the four of them (he kicks everyone's asses at it) and now Seb and Abbi are starting to get it.

There's a competition between him and Sam on who can steal the largest item at Joja without getting caught (Shane has the lead with the pizza he gave farmer)

After Shane stops drinking, Sam is adamant on getting Shane to like joja-cola with him (he's not winning, unfortunately)

One time, Sam bet Shane that he could drink a 12-pack of Joja-cola during one break at work and threw up everywhere from the crazy amount of carbination it has (Even though Shane cried actual tears from laughter, Sam still owed him a pizza because Morris made Shane clean it 😭)

Shane will leave Sam maple bars in his work locker when Sam is having a hard time with his family and denies that it was him (Sam knows) His excuse when caught is that he and Jaz prefer the other donuts in the pack

Shane SUCKS at comforting others, but Sam appreciates the awkward conversation because it just means his buddy is trying to be a good friend.

They both run a secret page that basically makes fun of Morris by posting bad photos or just making a meme out of him

When I read Hannibal fanfics I never read fix it fics. Not to say I never would because I’m sure they’re great! I think Abigail’s fate is necessary for the evolution of Hannibal’s character. His regret is so palpable and I truly think that without the conversation between him and Will about his regret in shattering the tea cup (killing Abigail), Will would have a harder time accepting Hannibal. In a fucked up way, their shared pain about losing her brought them closer to each other. No one will understand the loss and paternal ache like Hannibal, and maybe Will can never truly forgive Hannibal but he feels understood. In turn, Hannibal has to accept the consequences for his actions, and admit that yes, Will had changed him.

I saw that ask you got and i just wanted to say that it's so funny to me when people are like "why would you ship stancest ew" acting like they didn't sail off into the sunset together after DECADES of Stan openly pining for Ford. If they weren't written as siblings they would hands down be the most popular ship of the show

There's a long answer, and then there's the tldr at the bottom marked in red text. Long answer: If they weren't siblings, you literally wouldn't be able to escape this ship. It would have been THE ship of tumblr after the finale had aired, considered the "healthy" ship and the good ending, would be considered canon even if they didn't kiss, and it would be the standard by which all the other ships are judged. You would have people writing essays about how they literally took off on a ship, guys! It's so obvious and a metaphor for marriage and and- But here's where I can extend a bit of empathy that perhaps they wouldn't give me, as well as look at things from the perspective as someone who has seen shipping culture their entire lives. First off- most people don't want to fuck their siblings. I know, shocker. Most people who ship Stancest probably do not want to fuck their siblings, but people who don't CERTAINLY do not want to. It's the most repulsive thought in the world to them. There is such thing as being in such a close platonic relationship that it's an impossible thought. I think a lot of people who want Stancest shippers to die or whatever find that kind of desire utterly repulsive, that and let's be real, 1nc3st in real life is rife with abuse. It isn't a healthy thought to get those wires crossed. People who do not like this ship are empathizing with either of the brothers and projecting their own repulsion onto them. But here's the other bit. I'm not shipping Stan and Ford because they're siblings. Most of my ships are not 1nc3stuous. I don't find that element hot or cute, and while I'm not here to harsh anyone's vibe, if that's the only reason you ship Stancest I really don't want to talk with you about these characters. People see ships as inherently sexual, as inherently sexualizing, as "you must only ship this because you want to see the characters fuck". And mind you, with Stancest I don't see it as a bad thing at all to draw them doing things or being attractive together, etc etc. Not at all, and I'd be a hypocrite for saying otherwise. My point is, that's where people's minds go, that's the assumption that they make. They find 1nc3st repulsive, and clearly the ONLY reason I would ship it is because I like sexualizing that and only that aspect about it. Basically, they assume I must LOVE 1nc3st in and of itself, because otherwise why would I ship brothers? Now here's where I go back to the first statement, because most people I've seen don't just ship them for that reason.

You ever seen that meme about "if they have chemistry, I can't make them NOT have chemistry"? That's why I'm here. EVERYTHING about how Stan and Ford are written is tailor made to be SHIPPED. Aside from literally bounding away on a ship, they have a closeness and codependency that most brothers in fiction do not. Alex himself has said they need each other, Ford in the third journal said he was going to spend the rest of his days making up to Stanley. Stanley has spent his entire life wanting NOTHING but his family, his brother by his side. He seems more bonded to his brother than to any one he's ever tried to date, and Ford likewise. I'm sorry, but these two are not getting a "healthy" ending. They aren't going to be with anyone else. There's no version of them in which they find separate partners after having a little adventure around the world for a year or two then just go off in separate ways. This is the most "childhood friends to lovers" story I've ever seen. These two are NOT healthy to begin with, why would anyone expect them to start when they're that old and that hurt by everything in their pasts? I don't believe it inherently has to be sexually 1nc3stuous, but it could be. Wires are already being crossed. It's rare for anyone to be loyal for 30 years to one person when they aren't in love, and Stan wanted to get his brother back so badly that he forgot his own goals and even threw away his own identity to get him back. His entire life was for Ford, and after Journal 3, it should be obvious that Ford's entire life is for Stan now, too. What I'm trying to say is, while this ship isn't the healthy ending, it is the BEST ending for either of them. I think people who wanted Stan to be able to deny going with Ford don't understand him or his character, or what his character NEEDS, same as Ford. And I think people who try to separate the bros for shipping purposes or who don't want to do 1nc3st or accidental emotional 1nc3st are not fully reading the same things, watching the same things that we are. If they weren't brothers, everyone else would see exactly what we're seeing. They would see this as the love story it is. TLDR: I understand why people won't ship this ship, and I try to be empathetic, but these two have been given the kind of story that would ping the lovers radar to anyone if they weren't brothers and I'm not going to ignore that just because they are.

Getting into Rusty Quill Gaming after having fully listened to the Magnus Archives is fun because nobody realizes what’s about to hit them wrt Magnus.

Like, first of all, Alex doesn’t realize that he’s living in a countdown to asbestos goblins, which is the real TMA lore. And then Lydia and Ben don’t realize they’re about to get typecast into “somewhat aloof boss with a supernatural patron he needs to appease in morally dubious ways in exchange for powers who gets sent to jail at one point” and “girl with trust issues who likes breaking into places and stabbing people and uses body mutilation to escape a toxic job.”

I was fast-forwarding through the mid-episode ads and heard Jonny’s little teaser for TMA and rewound just to listen to the full thing while grinning. I just got to the episode that was released right after TMA dropped and they’re saying that they hope people check it out :) that it might be something people will enjoy :) :) :)
