A/N: I feel you the Law brainrot is slowly ruining me day by day sjdks I HOPE YOU ENJOY POOKIE!!! Pairing: Law x chubby!reader CW: Themes of body insecurities. Law tries to make you feel better though. WC: 821 The crew had decided to make a stop on an island to refuel the submarine and everyone decided to indulge in some much-needed shopping. As soon as you all docked, everyone dispersed in different directions, and you found yourself walking alongside Law. The two of you walked into a shop that displayed a variety of items, relying on the honor system, with no shopkeeper in sight, and you and Law seemed to be the only patrons in the moment.

Law's eyes were immediately drawn to a collection of books, and he immersed himself in them, showing a clear fascination. You, on the other hand, wandered over to the clothing section, noting that the island's inhabitants had a fashion sense quite distinct from your own. The racks held an array of skin-tight dresses, revealing crop tops, and attire that starkly contrasted with your usual preference for oversized and baggy clothing.

You sifted through the garments, an expression of mild frustration growing on your face. The differences between your style and what was offered here were undeniable. Law sensed your inner turmoil and was about to ask what was bothering you. However, without a word, you sighed, your frustration noticeable, and you abruptly decided to step away from the clothing section. He followed closely behind you, his concern evident in his voice as he spoke up, "Hey, what was that about?"

You let out a frustrated sigh, feeling the need to vent your feelings. "It's nothing... but why does this store only sell clothes like... that?" Your voice carried a hint of exasperation.

Law quickly caught up to you, gently gripping your shoulders and turning you around to face him. "Hey, calm down. What are you talking about?" His tone was soothing, a genuine attempt to understand the source of your distress.

You tried to articulate your feelings but found it challenging to express your discomfort with the clothing in the store. "Those clothes, they're all so tight and small, and..." Your words trailed off as you struggled to make your point.

Law recognized your unease and let out a soft sigh. Taking you gently by the arm, he guided you in front of a nearby mirror. Standing behind you, he spoke in a hushed tone, "Can I?" His hands hovered at the hem of the sweater you were wearing, and you nodded in response.

"You know," he began, his hands slipping under your sweater, fingers tracing along your soft, plush curves, "I love the way you look." Slowly, he lifted your sweater, revealing a bit more of you to your reflection in the mirror. Embarrassment flooded you, and you averted your gaze.

Law gently brought one of his hands to gently turn your head back towards the mirror. "You see this?" he whispered into your ear, his breath sending shivers down your spine. "You don't have to hide it. I love every bit of you."

His fingers continued their journey, gradually uncovering more of your skin. Each new revelation was accompanied by a trail of warmth and sensation, an intimate gesture meant to remind you that he adored every part of you.

Under Law's gentle guidance, piece by piece, you revealed the body you had tried to keep hidden for so long. It was a vulnerable and intimate moment, and as you became more comfortable, you couldn't help but notice the way Law looked at you. His eyes held nothing but adoration and appreciation for every curve, every inch of your being.

He leaned in, his lips brushing against your ear, his voice filled with a tender sincerity. "You're perfect to me, every inch of you."

A wave of vulnerability washed over you, and you whispered, "I just don't really like the way I look..."

Law's fingers softly traced your form as he responded. "If it makes you feel any better, I love the way you look. You are stunning. And these clothes?" He tugged on your sweater for reference, "You don't need to hide behind them, not for me at least." His soothing words continued to wash over you.

"Even then, I adore the way you look dressed as you are now, and I will continue to think you are gorgeous whether you choose to change that or not. You can wear the biggest clothes, the smallest clothes, hell, you can wear no clothes at all, and it still would not change my mind. I love you. I am utterly infatuated with you and I hope you see that."

Also, I completely understand why some people don't like Tim. His 90's era chaotic self is fantastic, but also a bit misogynistic. DC also likes to throw him in every comic that has a Robin in it and try to smother him back into that role. I haven't seen this happening, but I've also heard that Tim fans can be assholes.

So yes. I 100% understand why some folk aren't the hugest fans.

Tim, for me, though, is so dear. Few reasons why:

His story is so fucking sad, my lords

His attitude is hilarious

He's badass and chaotic

He reminds me too much of my younger self

All the Bats are tragic. Ain't a single one who isn't. I typically like BAMF tragic characters.

Tim's story as Robin is fucking devastating. Hit after hit after hit he takes. Yet, he keeps going. I would not have survived what he did.

All the other batkids have sad stories, hilarious wit, are badass, and cause chaos. They share those wonderful qualities with Tim.

I also just really love how Tim's relationship with Bruce is different during his initial years as Robin (with only Steph and Duke being comparable). He wasn't Bruce's kid first. Tim didn't want nor need a parent. He also felt like he had to help Bruce (when a kid shouldn't be taking care of adults. Parentification sucks ass).

Tim became Robin for Bruce. The other Robins became Robin for themselves (which isn't bad! It's actually really rad how Robin helped them [and cursed them but whatever]).

Just... Tim didn't want to be Robin initially, and that strikes a chord. Then there's him working his ass off for that mantle. He's a little shit, but he's Tim.

There's also how YJ is treated by the other heroes.

There's Tim living in Jason and Dick's shadow.

It's the likeness to my younger self that really hits home.

If you don't want any personal details, the bottom line is that a lot of his history/characterization hits home.

Now... Tim is dear to me due to how much he resembles my younger self. I love Jason as well due to him representing more of my older self. However, Tim's thought processes are closer to mine. I also tend not to get angry often.

For history, my parents consistently chose work and alcohol over family. I had to take care of them. I often played mediator, family clown, or scapegoat (which is why I also relate to Jason [I go feral at those horrendous lines Bruce says to him. Have your parents ever stated regret for how they raised you? Have they ever hurt you and demanded you thank them? Fucking hell, Jason. I may not have died, but your relationship with Bruce is killing me]). I was considered "gifted" or smart in comparison to my siblings, despite them being extremely intelligent (they were in honor classes as well). I'm the middle kid, but I emotionally took care of my younger sibling after I turned fifteen (even though we used to get into horrendous fights).

Anyways, Tim has a pathetic mess of a background, but he's badass as well. He's self-sufficient because he had to be, and he's good at it.

I like smart characters that outwit their opponent. I like seeing Tim win.

You found yourself staring blankly at the man standing in front of you. You watched as his face slowly started to turn red before he ducked his head down. You suppose that was your cue to respond but, you just didn't know how to. You never once suspected that one of your close friends had feelings for you, much less expected them to confess to your face.

You never once thought of him that way and you were sure he felt the same. But as you stared at the male in front of you, who was acting bashful, you knew you didn't want to hurt him. But did you even feel the same way? You couldn't tell in the moment.

"You don't feel the same." Ushijma stated as a few more seconds had past and you continued to stare at him like some sort of alien. "You don't have to. Our friendship means the world to me, I just wnated to let you know that someone loves you like that. I wanted to tell you, but I'm not expecting anything from you." Ushijma spoke in a soft tone. "Nothing has to chnage. I didn't confess for things to be awkward."

You bit your lip as thoughts flooded your head. You knew what Ushijma was saying was ture. He wouldn't put you in a situtation where you would be uncomforable. You wondered how long he has felt this way.

"it's not awkard I just," You finally found your voice as you struggled to speak your thoughts. "Feelings change so fast, are you sure?" As soon as those words left your mouth you wanted to slap yourself. "I didn't mean to question your feelings! I just um..." You wanted to die in a hole.

"It's okay." Ushjima says, taking your hand into his as he gently rubs your knuckles as a source of comfort. "I understand why your anxious. Let's just forget about it, I didn't mean to send you panicking."

You quickly shake your head and grasp his hand into yours futher. "I'm not sure how I feel about romance itself so I never gave it a second thought. I'm not evens ure if its something I want." You quietly shared.

A few beats of silence past before Ushijima spoke up, "Then how do you feel right now? Knowing I have these feeling for you?" The male questioned, eyes on how your hands were still clutching each other tightly.

"I..I'm not sure, but I don't feel uncomforable. Just nervous."

Your heart thumped in your chest as you carefully took in his words. You knew Ushijima would never hurt or force you to do something you didn't. He was giving you an out as well as a chance to explore your feelings. Was it really okay though? It felt like your were playing with his feelings if you both went down this path and turned up empty handed.

You just didn't want to hurt him. He didn't deseve it.

"Let's go on a date after classes. I don't have to be a practice until much later. We could have lunch, just a trial date." Ushijma explained, now lacing your hands together.

Your face heated up as you noticed yourself playing with his hand. With a deep breathe you slowly nodded your head watching as Ushijma's eyes lit up in happiness. "Sure." You replied, you hoped that your feelings would soon come clear to you.

Alesia is still responsible for the defense of Castle Village, so even though she lives in the Valley, she keeps in touch with her coworkers.

Not an ardent PDA fan, at most Alesia can be expected to kiss on the cheek in public. When she and Farmer are alone, she will show her tenderness: hugs, kisses, and maybe something else 👀

Loves to give and receive practical things to help in adventures: daggers, amulets, elixirs, artifacts. Also has a collection of rare daggers, so if the Farmer has a nice dagger lying around, found in adventures, it would make a great gift for Alesia.

A loving and moderately strict mother. Will always listen to her children, help them and protect them to the last, but will not spoil them much.

Can be a bit of a overprotective wife and mom, so let Farmer not be surprised that Alesia can break a stranger's nose because he said something bad about Farmer or their children. As it is, she's pretty peaceful.

Even if her and Farmer's kids don't want to become adventurers, the sniper still thinks that giving them a couple of self-defense lessons wouldn't hurt.

In the spouse area, she will set up a stand with her bows and a target, practicing archery in her spare time.

She will find common ground with the residents of Pelican Town very quickly. Her first friends are Robin and Leah.

Every Sunday she goes to Pierre's store to pray at Yoba's altar. Later Andy became her friend after constant meetings.

Her trust is very easy to lose, so Farmer should not deceive her. Never. For their own good.

Even if they are thinking of ending the relationship, let them say it straight, and they will separate like adults. Alesia will not tolerate deceit, and Farmer will regret it bitterly if they decide to cheat her.

Isaac:

With a partner like Isaac, Farmers get the scary dog privileges, whether they realize it or not.

Don't count on PDA, Isaac still can't get used to the idea of having a date. So it can be a bit much for him.

Even when Isaac is alone with Farmer, he may seem cold and closed off. But he's not the heartless, and willing to go down to hell for Farmer.

Farmer is honored to see Isaac's sword collection.

Sometimes Isaac needs time alone, and he's glad when Farmer understands him half-heartedly and gives him some space.

Without noticing it himself, Isaac began to flex in front of his beloved. A friendly fight with another adventurer was an opportunity for Isaac to show off all his skills as a fighter to Farmer.

Can be a rather jealous boyfriend (especially if Lance is hanging around somewhere). Even after marrying Farmer, may not stop being jealous. Apparently, the idea that he's not good enough for Farmer still haunts him.

#1. Shaykh Nishaat, our heartsmith, had us spellbound as he asked us soul searing questions and made statements like:

- When we are looking around ourselves, what eyes are we using to do that? In fact, almost everything happens without consciousness!

- We constantly have to check that what is negatively mirrored in the world is not a reflection of ourselves.

- There is so much information and knowledge out there but how much of what we do is from the Source of us? Instead, how much of what we process about the world, is shaped by our "tribe"?

- Shaykh Taner's Qur'an translation into English, as a 9-and-half year mission, exists for us to deeply understand and connect with Allah's guidance. However, many of us remain uninspired, wrapped, and enveloped in the aura of our egos!

- As we approach the beautiful month in which our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born, Allah sent him as Rahmatul lil-'Alameen (Mercy to the worlds). This mirrors the exact song that we've been inspired to sing, by our Qari Zardad of Qurtuba Online Islamic Studies, for Yawn un-Nabi (an annual festival marking his blessed birthday) with our Ilahi band, Subhana'Allah (Divine glory) for sweet serendipity!

- About our Shaykh Taner's first Urs, she tearfully reflected that she felt unimaginable love and joy after her initial sadness. As we were all doing Zikr of Allah joyously, followed by all the meals that served as our signature of the 'Eating Tariqa'!

- She remarked on the irony of mankind where her initial idea of honoring Shaykh Taner in a Mausoleum was not locally permitted! But, she encountered a local Buddhist 'Shrine', which was permitted and significantly bigger in size than our initial plan for a Mausoleum. As a multinational Tariqa, we are accustomed to lost-in-translation, of course! 😅

- She also said that we have both biological and spiritual family. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasised the importance of our blood relatives, and even if you have a connection as thin as a cotton thread, if they pull, you must go. Just as when you pull on them, you hope that they'll come! Our spiritual family obligations are that we work for and follow Allah. We have personal and congregational Zikrs of equal merit and purpose.

- We are called upon to serve Allah in the Tariqa where we're training and learning as we serve by being out of our comfort zones. We should be able to work with each other, no matter what!

- In fact, helping people is more preferable to doing all our daily assignments perfectly every day! More importantly, our service doesn't involve politics, relationships, and business!

- She even compassionately urged us to find when we feel Allah the most to determine the ideal circulatory rhythm in ourselves to offer our personal daily assignments. This is after I realised that mornings wear me out, and instead when I am on my Rife treatment (my perceivable low-energy electromagnetic waves), I am the most connected to not only a source of healing but to our Shaykh Taner and our Silsila (spiritual chain). Our school of complementary health has complete faith in this subtle form of healing.

- In our Tariqa, we don't compare lessons or ourselves because we don't know the other's inner situation.

- Knowledge is important, but self-knowledge or self-awareness is even more important. Here, we fondly remember a Hadith (saying of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)): Whoever knows himself knows his Lord!

#3. Lastly was an exchange between our Shaykh Taner and Anne. It described the palpable purpose we gain in the practice of Zikr as a salvation. As we keep doing Zikr, we get out of the way, what I joyously describe as managing to drown out the ever-pervasive nafs, and naturally connecting to Allah. It was likened to filling the petrol tank of a car or our bodies with energy gained from food. Similarly, with Zikr, our beings are replenished and go forward in the spiritual world.

With gratitude, we end our Jumu'ah Sohbet. We yearn our beloved Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) team-spirit as Mahfouz embarks on his first Cricket Match of the year, and his love, as Muntaha extends her love to Adam and baby Zaynab for a play date, during that time.

hi boat mutual you are in my fav mutuals circle. why is the RMS olympic ur fav ocean liner?

OOOOoooooh thank you SO much for asking. So, I measure ocean liners by a few criteria. External Appearance, Internal Appearance, Career, Speed (relative to the fastest liner of her time), etc.

In terms of External Appearance, I like the Olympic. She’s not my favorite, I think I might prefer the SS United States or the Queen Mary, MAYBE even the Mauretania too, but that's tough. Anyway, I love the shape of the Olympics forward superstructure. I think she pulls off the relatively square/flat superstructure much better than ships like the Aquitania. I think Aquitania's superstructure might just be ever so slightly too tall, but I’m not quite sure. I’ve also never been a fan of the split superstructure near the bow like on the RMS Oceanic and the Big Four. Anyway, The ratio of superstructure to hull to funnels is just fantastic. The shape/proportions of Olympics funnels are excellent. I also think the White Star livery suits her very well. Especially in the 20’s when her sheer line was lowered.

In terms of interiors, I absolutely adore the Olympics wood paneled Edwardian decor. I might be a BIT biased, because I have a much better understanding of the Olympics interior and decor thanks to Titanic: Honor and Glory. If I were to go back in time and sail on the Lusitania or Mauretania, I might prefer them, but the pictures can only convey so much to me now. I’ve also always preferred the Edwardian decor to the Art Deco decor on ships like the Normandie. Don’t get me wrong, the Normandie was gorgeous, but her interiors almost give me the vibe of an art museum. Cold, imposing, almost sterile. Not exactly a place I’d like to live for a week. The Queen Mary is much better in this regard, feeling much more warm and inviting, but I still just overall prefer the pre war decor of ocean liners. Olympic just happens to be my favorite.

In terms of speed, everyone makes a very big deal about how the Olympic class was just too slow to take the blue riband from the Lusitania class, but the Olympic wasn’t exactly slow either. With an initial service speed of 21 knots, and a maximum recorded speed of 24 knots, she was still very fast compared to most liners of her day, especially compared to the Big Four, which could only go between 16 and 18 knots.

However, standing above all else is the Olympics career, which for me, is what makes her stand above the rest.

When the Lusitania was launched, she beat the previous ship in terms of size by 6,969 gross registered tons. When the Olympic was launched, she beat the Lusitania by nearly twice that, being 13,774 gross registered tons larger. (For reference, The Kaiserin Auguste Victoria was 24,581 GRT, The Lusitania was 31,550 GRT, and the Olympic was 45,324 GRT). At the time of her launch, she was the largest man made moving object ever built, by far. Shortly thereafter she suffered a collision with the HMS Hawke, but survived easily thanks to her watertight compartments. After the sinking of her sister, the Titanic, she was withdrawn from service and refit, introducing safety features that made her by far the safest ship afloat. She already was the safest before the refit, but the refit fixed some critical flaws and oversights by adding lifeboats, raising bulkheads, adding an interior second skin to absorb damage (remember this one) and plenty more.

World War I began in 1914, and the Olympic was once again withdrawn from service. This time, she was refit as a troop ship. During the war, Olympic is reported to have carried up to 201,000 troops and other personnel, burning 347,000 tons of coal and traveling about 184,000 miles. She survived TWO encounters with German U-boats. Most ships don't survive one, and in one of these two encounters, the U-Boat didn't survive! The crew of the Olympic spotted the U-Boat and managed to ram and sink it. The Olympic was the only merchant ship to have sunk enemy tonnage during World War 1. Can't say definitively for other wars, but none come to mind. A plaque was placed in one of Olympics first class spaces to commemorate the event. The second encounter went a bit differently. The second U-Boat actually managed to hit Olympic with a torpedo. Luckily it was a dud, and didn't detonate. The torpedo did make a small hole in her hull, but the double hull contained the flooding. The crew of the Olympic didn't know she was hit until she was put in dry dock after the war and they found the hole.

After the war, she repatriated Canadian troops and earned the nickname "Old Reliable". A dance hall was even named after her. She was once again refit, giving her oil fired boilers. This significantly reduced the amount of crew necessary, from (approximately) 350 men to only 50. Also, this change increased her average speed by a 10th of a knot, and significantly reduced the amount of smoke and pollution she created. She could also be completely refueled in a day, rather than a week. Because oil is a liquid, they were actually able to store it in unconventional places like the space between the double hull. This gave Olympic incredible range and fuel capacity compared to her rivals. Throughout the 1920s, she became extremely popular with the rich and famous. This was despite the fact that Olympic was no longer White Star Line's flagship. That title went to the Majestic, originally a German liner, but ceded to the brits as a war reparation. But as I was saying, her popularity with celebrities of the time earned her the nickname of "The Movie Star Liner". By 1934, the effects of the great depression had taken hold. Very few people were traveling. Cunard and White Star were in pretty serious trouble (White Star wasn't just suffering from the great depression, but that's a story for another day). Cunard didn't have enough money to complete the RMS Queen Mary and made an appeal to the government for help. They agreed, but only under the condition that the Cunard line and White Star Line merge. At this point, many Cunard and White Star ships were sold or scrapped to get as much money as possible for the Queen Mary. This includes the 3 remaining ships of the Big Four, and even the Mauretania. The thing that doomed the Olympic was her lack of private bathrooms. Standards for travel and comfort had simply changed too much since 1911, and the Olympic no longer made enough of a profit for Cunard White Star to keep her in service. She was sold for scrap, and by 1936, she was gone.

Anyway, sorry for the huge info dump. Tl;dr - The Olympic is my favorite because of her interesting career. I'm very passionate about the topic. Also, apologies for any inaccuracies. Most of this was from memory, but I made sure to fact-check all the big stuff and the numbers.

this will be very long and just my brief opinion on sakuatsu. if you disagree or don't want to read thats fine.

first off i'd like to say neither my requests or commissions are open so sorry about that. but more over this response is really just an excuse to air out my opinions on sakuatsu as a ship.

i dont think sakuatsu would ever have a baby. even though I know its popular for people to draw them with a baby i personally would never draw them having one and see it as out of character. i drew matsuhana with a baby because i find it believable as they both have ordinary jobs (or lack of one).

tbh i very much dislike how most sakuatsu is portrayed in the fandom. i think it works as a ship, but i find my opinions of how they operate much different than the common sakuatsu fanworks. i don't see much sakuatsu works, in fact i actually i avoid most, so maybe its a little skewed to say its different then common depictions as i don't see them enough to decide whats common. what im trying to get at is that i find most sakuatsu works i come across as ooc, such as sakuatsu having a baby.

they both are professional athletes who spend all their time thinking or practicing volleyball. they would not have time to tend to a baby nor would whoever you want to mpreg (if thats the route you chose for them having a baby) have time to be pregnant. i also think its a bit of a misread of atsumu as his entire character is loving volleyball more than anything. for him to give that up wouldn't make sense without it having to be ooc. when it comes to sakuatsu as a whole i feel as though people forget that sometimes someones true love doesnt have to be a person nor do peoples romantic relationships have to be the sappy lovey-dovey kind. sakuatsu to me would be a relationship rooted in understanding that both of them come second in each other life, with volleyball coming first. (well in atsumus case, sakusa just does things to feel satisfied and in this instance its to be good in volleyball.)

if you enjoy ooc works and creatations i wont stop you nor am i going to say its inherently wrong to enjoy yourself. but for me its hard for me to really appreciate those kinds of works because to me it's sort of erasing what made a character so charming in the first place.

hi i just finished rdr2, really love your stuff (FINALLY a blog that properly info dumps!! keep them coming please!!). i don't know if this is your thing, but the song I Gave You All by Mumford & Sons makes me think of arthur so much because each lyric corresponds so perfectly to his ending. obviously it's in the song title (arthur's "i gave you all i had"), but the lines "how can you say that your truth is better than ours?" and "you rip out all i had just to say that you've have won" makes me wonder what arthur's last thoughts really were?? the song has a very bitter tone, which is opposite of the game, but i can't actually tell what arthur's last words are supposed to mean, especially with him repeating "i tried...i did." were the "i dids" meant to be a plead for mercy (to remind dutch of his lifelong loyalty in hopes that he's spared from a violent death) or was it meant to be sympathetic (to indicate that they were both doomed men who were only trying their best)? or was it an apology, like "i did all i could, but it wasn't enough"? knowing his level of self esteem/guilt i think arthur would feel a very heavy obligation and responsibility, so it makes sense for him to say "i did all i could, but it still wasn't enough because i was not good enough," but he seemed to be very accepting of his death. sorry if this was rambly/late to the party, i would love to hear your thoughts about it!!!

Oh, Anon, this is the sort of thing I LOVE seeing in my askbox, I am kissing you on the lips rn for giving me the permission to talk about this so lets TALK about it!! (Sorry it took me a minute to get to it, I had to rotate ur questions in my mind for a bit so I could best formulate my thoughts, you know how it is)

First off, I Gave You All by Mumford & Sons is SUCH a good RDR2/Arthur song, I agree hugely on this, and it makes a LOT of sense for the ending notes, especially on a High Honor/Save John run. I've been listening to it on repeat since I saw ur ask, all while typing this up, and I got a lil emotional at times man. I love music recs and while I know some Mumford & Sons songs this was a recontextualization I very much needed in my life thank u <3

The rest of this is LONG so putting in a read more to save my mutuals lol

Okay, so, I now have a LOT of thoughts about what's going through Arthur's mind and what he might've meant at the end of his last mission, so lets get into it. To begin with I want to list out the lines that are said in this scene, so we're all on the same page. (Helpfully and lovingly pulled from the gamescripts wiki blog, which my life has revolved around for the past year and a half)

Dutch van der Linde: It is over now… Arthur. It’s over. Arthur Morgan: Oh, Dutch… he’s a rat. You know it and I know it. Micah Bell: He’s sick… he’s dying… he’s talking crazy. Pinkerton: There! Up there on the ridge! Arthur Morgan: (to Dutch) I gave you all I had… I did. Dutch van der Linde: I… Micah Bell: Come on. Dutch… let’s go, buddy. We made it. We won. Come on. Arthur Morgan: John made it. He’s the only one. Rest of us… no. But… I tried. In the end… I did. Micah Bell: (to Dutch) Come on… let's go. We can make it. Come on, Dutch… come on!

So WHAT is going on here? Surface level, this is the last appeal to Dutch. The last battle of wills between Micah and Arthur, where Arthur is STILL trying to make Dutch see sense. I think it's an important part of Arthur's character to understand that he believes, until the very bitter end, that there's a chance for him to reach through to Dutch. It's the main reason he heads back to camp, after saving Abigail. Milton has told him Micah is the rat, and Arthur believes that if he can just get back to camp and tell Dutch the truth, that will be it. He, erroneously, believes his word alone will be enough.

But the thing is, in my opinion, in a way Arthur is RIGHT! He DOES reach through to Dutch, but he has to die for it. That is what the "I gave you all I had" line is for.

It is Dutch, unsure who to believe. It is Micah, screaming for Dutch to listen to him. And it is Arthur, gently reminding Dutch: I devoted my entire life to you, all that I know has been with you, all that I am has come from you.

Arthur would have gone to the ends of the Earth for Dutch -- he would be grumbling and complaining the entire time, but he'd still do it if Dutch asked. He is, in this moment, telling Dutch, I gave you all I had and you took it, there is nothing left but my death, what reason do I have to lie?

It is the crack in the wall, a small moment of clarity for Dutch, which has him leave them both on that cliff, which has him turn up again 8 years later and kill Micah. Not enough to turn on Micah right away, but enough to truly have Dutch stop and reconsider. Because with those words Arthur is not only speaking on his own behalf, whether or not he knows it. He is reminding Dutch of everyone else who has died for him; Grimshaw, Molly, and Hosea, as the most notable ones, I think. Arthur slots neatly in with those three as people who truly devoted their everything to Dutch, gave him all they had, of life and time and energy, and were served nothing but death, destruction, and heartache in return.

It stuns Dutch; for once he is truly speechless, having to reckon with Arthur's words and what they mean, what they imply. Micah knows Arthur's words are more impactful, and keeps trying to sway him to his side, for ends we can only really guess at. But we already know there's no chance Dutch will go with Micah at this point. But he also wont stay with Arthur.

Then: "John made it. He’s the only one. Rest of us… no. But… I tried. In the end… I did."

One of Arthur's main objectives in Chapter 6 is saving as many people of the gang as possible. The Pinkertons are closing in and, while Arthur believes that it's just bad luck until Milton tells him otherwise, he still hopes for the best outcome possible, for the women and children, as he says.

Which is why he says John made it. Because to Arthur, John's making it, means the women and children making it. It means Abigail, Tilly, Sadie, and Jack, all waiting at Copperhead Landing, are not waiting in vain. It is the reassurance that they will be fine, and the idea that John might finally actually step up and be the father Arthur has so desperately wanted him to be for Jack. To Arthur, John making it is the best outcome.

But he still wanted to save as many people as possible. Dutch, Javier, and Bill included. They were still Arthur's friends and family. They still mattered to him. But I think Arthur realizes, dying upon that cliff, that there's no way out for them anymore. They'll get off this mountain and continue their way of living, and the government will keep hunting them. He is essentially saying the rest of them are just as doomed as Arthur is, even if Arthur is the one currently dying. And he tried.

I want to say that Arthur saying he tried, is both about saving the gang, and about being better. There are SO many interactions you can have in chapter 6 alone that's about being better than you were. Edith Downes, Sister Calderòn, Charles, Rains Fall, and Mary-Beth are just SOME that I can think of, at the top of my head. I think in this moment, Arthur is reaffirming to himself that at the very least he tried. He did everything he could, in the time that he had. He doesn't know if that's enough, or if it means more than what it is, but he tried, and that, to him, HAS to mean something.

It is him accepting that this is the end, and that he doesn't know!! He genuinely doesn't!! If he has done enough to actually change the course of events!! But God do I love the message of Arthur finding peace in having tried. In having done what he could, and seeing what changes he could, and knowing in that last breath, watching that rising sun, that he did make a difference.

Do I think Arthur is angry or bitter when he passes? Not in a High Honor/Save John run, no. I think he is disappointed and sad with Dutch. But I also think he has found a place within himself where he can accept that this is it, for him. And he is hopeful for those whom he has saved, who got out of there and live to see another day.

He gave his all, and he really really tried, and he finds peace in the end. How simultaneously heartbreaking and heartening isn't that?

I'm trans so any character I make is just. not gonna have an issue with trans folks by design. he has a harder time understanding a static, 2 gender system than a more fluid interpretation of gender- as a fun fact, there are some species of fungi with thousands of sexes! he wouldn't be phased by whatever your gender and presentation might be.

he would not mind a queerplatonic relationship! it might take a while to explain the difference between that and a romantic relationship with him, since he has an idealized concept of what romance is, but ultimately he just wants to be close with you and enjoy your company.

and if MC tried to hurt him? it wouldn't sway him a bit in terms of his opinion of you. he'd be a little devastated that you don't see him the way he sees you (yet) and might feel kind of monstrous for a while, but it wouldn't deter him from trying to make a life with you. he'd definitely double down on trying to win you over.

a moment here in ur inbox to talk about why i love vil so much, and how people misinterpret him (no need to read it all its just a long ass ramble, sorry 😭):

First of all, just because he is the fairest of them all and likes to take care of his appearance, does not mean he be bitchy with those of a different style from his. Take Epel for example, Vil is not trying to change him 💀💀 He is trying to teach Epel to not fall into the “masculine man are the toughest ones”, he wants to show his son Epel that you can be a pretty masculine boy and not act as toxic masculine man.

Pluss, he tries to help others achieve his goals just like he did 🥲🥲 Even if when growing up was to be said mistreated

Secondly, talking about him and Epel, his relationship in general with what it was shown with others First years are so fartherly :,(( like??? is so adorable… Addition: He would DEF be a great father, I hate those people who say he wouldn’t. Vil’s father was an actor/model and from what I remember Vil only says nice things about him. Vil sure has a short schedule, but it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t try at maximum to squeeze his s/o and kid into participating of his life.

YEAHHH honestly I feel that when people say Vil is mean they only read book 5 and read it very poorly, bc Vil is a very strict person to his dorm members and the people at SDC, but that's just because he wants them to be the best version of themselves and not give up! i love astrology in the way that i love anything that encourages self exploration. we live in a world where it's really acceptable to be totally disconnected with who you are and to disregard your own emotions and internal world. i've appreciated astrology for so long because it encourages the exact opposite - digging in, understanding, doing the work.

there are some deeper aspects of astrology i haven't discussed answering these asks because they require a lot more depth and discussion (houses, lilith placements, conjunctions and what they mean, etc.) but these can also be great for at the very least, trying to get yourself. i have always felt most unhappiness in life that isn't out of our control comes from being out of touch with ourselves. yes i am a pisces. no i won't be taking questions about it.

so i do have some favorite placements. i love everyone equally and appreciate all signs equally but tend to really vibe with fellow water signs (cancer and scorpio), virgo, leo, sagittarius, and capricorn.

no one gets water signs better than a fellow water sign bc we are all just constantly treading water (hahah). emotional depths are something all water placements get so it's no big deal when one of us is having a meltdown bc the others will come in and help.

virgo is my sister sign as a pisces and i have a very strong draw to women as friends and men as lovers. the issue is that virgo men can suit roles that are almost paternal with me bc they feel like the have to fix me meanwhile virgo women are like "i don't get a fucking thing about you. i love you. also don't ever move my soap bottle two inches to the right again." aljfaw;ljfa;lwkasjfjsdaf my sister is a virgo and we literally just had this discussion when i went to go see her

leo and sagittarius are not the same but i view them in the same way in relation to myself. they really amplify my cheerleader tendencies bc i will absolutely cheer these confident people on. they know who they are, what they want, how they're doing it and i'm like "yay!" and i love the playfulness of a sagittarius with the whimsy of pisces. one of my favorite duos but they can be too supportive of one another.

capricorn is actually my favorite sign overall and they get a bad rap for literally no reason. people just don't like practicality. im terribly impractical most of the time but a cap looking at me and going "what are you actual reasons for doing this?" is so like....idk healing. they already know what i'm doing and why i'm doing it but they are like okay well say it and hear how stupid u sound and pisces has this aspect in it too just gentler.

I've been struggling so much mentally for the past few yrs and these past few months were especially hard on me. I was diagnosed with adhd and it was very hard for me accept that and just live life all in all but whenever I came on tumblr and saw one ur posts or u freaking abt smth it just lifts up my mood involuntarily. It's like you're tinkerbell and when I see ur blog, it like sprinkles pixie dust on me making my mood better(sorry if that doesn't make any sense).

When you open up personally, I sometimes do relate to some of it and it makes me feel like I'm not alone. I know how hard it is to know something like that. I've been to a place like this so I know a little about how you're feeling. but if I could help as a friend, I would tell you to see this as a way of getting to know yourself. It's really hard to be diagnosed with something, but with that we also start to get answers. and then you top feeling like there's something different about you and see that it's something normal than what you have. we begin to understand ourselves better and deal better with our feelings. in my life, depression affects me much more than my dyslexia, but it was much more hard for me to accept that I had dyslexia. It was a really long journey until I felt comfortable with it and stopped feeling embarrassed about it. I really hope something similar happens to you. I just wish your journey is not long like mine. I wish everything will be fine soon. and may you be able to get through this in a not so hard way. please don't be hard on yourself. this is the time you have to be your own best friend. take good care of yourself. don't let any negative energy from anywhere affect you. It's a time for you to focus on you and only you.
