I think it says something that Jimmy absolutely destroyed the crew and ship in half the time Curly was captain. Like he couldn’t even get them past 2 full months before breaking down.

#like I think it’s crazy cause the whole trip from when we start the game is like 6 months #they are only six months into the trip post crash it’s why getting help was so futile #they had to survive another 6-7 with almost no resources sense most actual food resources where blocked off or destroyed #I see people saying they were surviving for six months after the crash or at least five but it’s only two #they were on the ship for 4 months before hand like the time frames we play are extremely small in retrospect #it’s like what 187 days when we get into the game? that’s about 6 months total #like I’m sorry this is also about peop saying Anya was liek 5 months pregnant but I think a big point is the assault just happened and Curly #didn’t react to it correct initially cause like have you seen someone whose 5 months pregnant? When Marcille roleplayed as Chilchuck’s wife because it’s a normal way to engage in gossip of course of course, her appearance is really just her as a half-foot in a common dress and two braids. Uncharacteristically simple for her, though she did wear those as a half-foot too. At the end of canon, Chilchuck, implicitly by the text ~filling the hole in her heart~ by doing her hair for her when she lost the will to care for it herself, puts it in two braids.

Played more Slay The Princess with a friend and learned something new about the New Dawn ending

My first playthrough included Razor and Moment of Clarity so when I reached that ending, all of the voices were there. I didn't realize that only voices you unlock in your 5 routes are present.

But even more interestingly, one of our routes was Happily Ever After. And we never got any other Ch 3s. When we reached the end, Smitten was Not There...

All of which is to say -

That is a REALLY COOL DETAIL!

Now I'm curious if Smitten can return if you get him back through another Ch 3 after HEA

And also if he stays gone if HEA is your last route where he appears, after having been unlocked in an earlier Ch 3

And also now I kind of want to try mapping out a playthrough that gets me all 10 voices without going through Razor/Moment of Clarity

And also if that kind of run can be possible with HEA as one of the routes

#slay the princess #slay the princess spoilers #i feel like an all voices + no razor/moc run would not be possible with HEA #since you get a max of 2 voices per (allowed) route and you only get 5 routes #so a run that loses a voice will mean having to get him back (if possible) over unlocking another voice in a later run #similarly Stranger is probably also out for this run since it doesnt have a Ch 3 #maybe you can squeeze out an extra route if you leave the cabin in one Ch 2? though not sure if that would keep the voice #(and also that feels like cheating xD)#this feels like a fun challenge :D #okay so far cheated and contrarian have to be ch 3 voices since razor/stranger are out #paranoid should still be okay as a ch 2 voice since nightmare can also lead to wraith instead of moc #(but i feel like he appears so often that he's better saved for a ch 3 xD)#pre-pristine cut Damsel & Prisoner also couldn't be done in one playthrough since doing one locks you out of the other Grey route #(not to mention both give Cold)#in pristine cut its fine as long as you branch to Cage for Prisoner #if you do prisoner -> grey you can't do damsel and must do witch -> thorn for smitten #since HEA loses a voice #(and obviously if you do prisoner -> grey spectre is out too)#and also paranoid since you have to do opportunist for smitten #and paranoid can only get you cold or opportunist

do you ever think about how Ohkubo extremely casually dropped the fact that Spirit & Kami were teen parents & then proceeded to never expound upon that fact or bring it up ever again despite it explaining a whole lot about them & Maka

#I think a big part of why I'm so attached to/interested in spirit as a character is because he objectively has A LOT going on in his life.#but because he was created to fill that stock pervy comedic-relief anime side-character archetype we never get to see any of it examined.#or even brought up at all for the most part #like spirit apparently comes from a long line of death weapons who despite having been loyal to lord death for generations are never ever #mentioned & who spirit himself never mentions despite carrying on the family tradition (although he's not unique in that regard tbh)#at 12-13 years old he becomes stein's weapon partner & in his own words it became “[spirit's] job to control [stein].”#another kid with a laundry list of mental health & behavioral issues that spirit probably wasn't super prepared to help “control”#(personally I think that this “job” of spirit's was a duty he took upon himself rather than something lord death necessarily told him to do)#then just ~5 years later he 1) loses/rejects said weapon partner & probably best friend after some really major boundaries were crossed #2) becomes a husband & father at just 18 #(& in his own words a broke 18 year old at that. another point towards him not being in contact with any family if they're even alive)#3) becomes technically one of the most important people in the world once he ascends to being a death weapon.#not necessarily in that exact order but certainly in quick succession.#& then we fast forward to canon & spirit's at best a guy who drinks way more than he probably should & at worst a functioning alcoholic #who's only A MONTH into being divorced for his habitual infidelity & is in the really weird position of being the primary caretaker of his #daughter who (rightfully) hates him despite him having zero custodial rights over her.#& imo he seems to have no friends in death city before stein & the other death scythes return despite generally being a people person.#like. spirit is kind of the epitome of should've been at the club lmao #soul eater #spirit albarn #kami albarn #meta (kind of. not really lol)
