speaking from personal one on one experience—it definitely is not similar! i’m lucky to have a supportive caregiver in a frat and regress at his place at times—but i could count on two hands in a frat full of at least 150 men who would not be weirded out by my regression🤕

When I watched the movies I liked him very much, but I didn't see how he could be with Elizabeth until I read some very very excellent fanfics that gave Norrington a second chance.

8. Best thing about canon?

I'm an odd fan. I hate and love Dead Men Tell No Tales. Hate the ending, dislike the retconning of key PotC points, what does Disney have against Spaniards anyway why are they always the bad guys (??).... But I loooovvveee Capitán Salazar. I looovveee La María Silenciosa. I love Lieutenant Lesaro, and I love all the Spaniards.

I mean a lot of people diss the Fifth movie, and I used to see countless posts saying *ew the fifth movie doesn't exist and I'm so edgy and original for pretending only the trilogy is canon* - yeah I know, I'm still salty about boring PotC takes - but I'll never really hate DMTNT because the Fifth movie is *the* movie that got me writing fanfic. And the best thing about PotC 5 canon, the absolute best thing, THE best thing:

18. Something you initially did not like but came around to?

Henry Turner.

He just came across as a total boy to me when I first saw him, and I'm not a fan of the 'boyish charm' stereotype.

I also thought the romance with Carina was rushed and a little unbelievable, which didn't help his case either.

But as I started writing fanfic, I grew to appreciate his goodness. We need more truly good fictional characters, and Henry Turner is Good. Like, comforting good. A warming, reliable, honest sort of Good that I really like.

I still don't see how Carina and Henry could ever stay together. Opposites may attract, but I think in their case, opposites would be more likely to repel. She's prissy, she's structured, she's writing mathematical equations and she's not in touch with her emotions. He's reading stolen pirate maps and taking unplanned flagrant risks, he's raw and vulnerable and drowning himself just to see his dad (🥺) and then not twenty minutes into the movie he's wetting his dry mouth in front of Capitán Salazar but doing an admirable job of not losing his fucking mind while face to face with Cursed Living Dead Spaniards who killed the entire crew of the Monarch. (Contrast this with Carina who ran away screaming).

So yeah. I love Henry.

- all the main characters being able to witness this and us seeing their reactions is such a good touch like god, the impact of this reality is so much heavier because we get to see the characters actually affected by it react to watching it unfold before them

Your boyfriend's just watch in silent amusement as you struggle up the stairs and to the door, taking forever to figure out how exactly the lock on the door works. Dewey is the one who takes pity on you and shows you that the door is very much open.

"Dewey! I'm drunk!" The smile on your face is infectious as you move to kiss his cheek, only to miss and stumble over your own feet. "I held the barman's hand and I think I love him now. His name is Dan and I loooovveee him. I drunk a shot with him, it was vile but it was worth it because I held his hand and I cried and I looovveee him." You slur out as Beej moves up to help you get out of your coat and shoes, smirking as you struggle to pull him into a cuddle. "Bug! I'm drunk!" He chuckles at your proud statement.

"I can see that, babes." He comments as you plant a hard, wet kiss to his cheek. "C'mon love. Let's go upstairs."

Your face lights up. "Bed with my two boys?" You look behind you to Dewey, him shaking his head softly. You gasp in excitement. "We can invite Dan!"

"Yeah, alright. Cuddle times for all." He narrowly avoids another attempt at a cheek smooch, instead moving in to press a kiss to your temple. "C'mon baby, I'll let you smooch my tum if you can get yourself to bed."

The idea of tummy smooches makes your entire face light up. Yes. You like that idea.

The two men could barely stop your stumbling up the stairs, running into the wall multiple times as you go.

They both roll their eyes but follow you along anyway, already keen in the idea of getting tummy kisses from you.

Only to be throughly disappointed when they get to the bedroom to find you, face planted in the mattress, half on the bed half sliding off, snoring loudly. It's almost too adorable.

Together, they get you into just your bra and panties before sliding you under the sheets, Beej moving to spoon you from behind and Dewey sliding into the front, both holding you close as you sleep off the alcohol.

Tummy smooches can wait until tomorrow.
