Oh I think I've pinpointed why some future fics bother me like .. they separate the friends. If Chie isn't chewing out someone while holding their hair as they're' vomiting after a bad drinking game then you're wrong I think. "Naoto is too busy to visit" as if they didn't spend the first part of P4A angsting about it. "Yosuke wants to move back to Tokyo" sure for college maybe but if his "I've learned to love this town" arc means anything it's him hating Tokyo after a year there because how can he function without the rest of the IT-- same with Yu because he's canonically scampering back every single break. "Oh we're sooo busy with our careeerrrss we can't hang ouuut" is the worst part of these post canon fics cause like.. nooooo.... They are freer than ever actually once out of school??? They should be hanging out more??

Yes I too love the domestic fluff stories but it almost never takes place in Inaba and shrugs loudly!!!!! It's ALWAYS "our cute tokyo apartment" and it's never "our small house in Inaba" like . Wrong. If golden did anything right story wise it suggested that Inaba is growing too. "Inaba is boring and nothing is there so Tokyo is more exciting" is worst post canon story element because Inaba is just as much a character as the IT.

If they were in a non pokemon au I can see red being a tradesman/handyman who does odd jobs for low prices. I can't see him being able to stand an office job or anything customer servicey. Green being in some research field would be cute. He goes off to college to study but he refuses to use oaks money to pay for it because he wants to be independent and prove himself. To who? Only he knows. In pokemon you can just say oh he's a pokemon professor without expanding but if I wanted to actually write an au for this I think I'd have to choose an actual specific field. Which is unfortunate. Because I don't want to do that 🩷 they're from the same small countryside hometown but lose contact either after middle school or highschool and only meet again as adults. Same childhood friends to bullying for validation/out of jealousy arc as every other reguri story.
