Okay, so. I'm German. I may or may not know a little more about German cultural history than you do. Okay? Okay.
You're talking about the stories as if they came about, like, shortly before the Brothers Grimm collected them - they didn't. Some of these stories can be tracked across multiple cultures for literally thousands of years. Yes. Some are that old.
The entire concept of childhood as something fundamentally different from adulthood was literally invented in the late 1700s (Rosseau was one of the first to formulate that thought). There was no such concept before; children were seen and treated as little adults; hell, they could be persecuted and tried for crimes like adults at the age of twelve.
Twelve!
That was the cultural norm in pretty much all of Europe from the beginning of the Middle Ages until about 1800. It varies a bit from country to country. Children also got to watch public torture and executions, they saw the corpses of criminals strung up as a warning.
Nobody thought that was wrong.
So most of the tales the Grimms collected are folk tales, and people told them to everyone. They were evening entertainment. And like evening entertainment on the telly, they varied from lovely and heartwarming to downright grisly. Only, what we now call "children" were not perceived as such! You have a concept of "this is not for children". I do too. The Brothers Grimm also did, because that was a new concept they thought important!
But in the centuries before they lived? None of this mattered. I do understand that this is a difficult concept to grasp for someone whose entire country has only existed for a couple of centuries, and you don't tend to look back into your own history further than that. This is not meant as an insult, btw. I'm guessing it's the same kind of mind-screw that you get when you discover that some people in Europe live in houses that are older than the US.
But nonetheless, it is what it is. This stuff goes back long and deep.
And you also gotta remember that in Germany, there was also a generational trauma at work that resulted from the 30-Year War. The peasant class suffered horrifically; of course, they would also put those horrible things in the tales they told to each other as a means to collectively process that stuff - which may explain why German folk tales across the board (and not just those collected by the brothers) are really dark and bloody.
I enjoy a joke about fucked up German fairy tales as much as the next nerd, but it's genuinely striking how often the source for the really fucked up stuff turns out to be "yeah, this is only in the Brothers Grimm version and doesn't appear in any extant oral tradition, and we're like 80% sure they added it themselves". To a large extent it's not German fairy tales that are fucked up, it's two specific German dudes.

Ah yes the country side.
“I don’t like this.”
You step over a slug as Daniel walks infront of you, resisting the urge to haul ass out of excitement. Chiang liang, if you had any words to describe it, they would be hot, eerie, and occasional nature smells of poop. You and Daniel walked side by side before he stops and dramatically looks back at the chiang liang station. You were about to speak before a few deeper voices interrupt you and turn to a horde of gangster pass by coming out a bus.
“……uh-“
Daniel pulled you close.
“They use jeong la do accents.”
You blink.
“They do-“
“Kids.”
A gravelly voice made you both jump and you turn to see a bald gangster with scars.
“Move it will ya?”
Both Daniel and you start spotting gangsters EVERYWHERE- coming out of buses and the ones out of cars where most likely higher in rank…….aw they care for traffic laws-
Daniel and you both remain close as the gangster all walked past you, occasionally bumping shoulders.
“Woa- what is the need for all this-“
You step back and do does Daniel before a car’s engine turned off behind you two.
You turn to see and what the fuck is that? The most tacky hot wheel, lightning McQueen stickers looking chocolate wrapper designed car parked behind you two.
Daniel held you closer out of instinct before the car door opened.
“I’m sor-“
“You scratched it.”
You blink after someone with a deep voice had the gall to interrupt Daniel.
“Uh- who scratched who?”
You ask confused.
“Sorry?” Daniel asked now also confused.
“I said you scratched it. You’re gonna have to buy this car now.”
“WHOSE BUYING WHAT NOW?!”
Were you going insane or was this guy having a hernia? You and Daniel exchange the most baffled faces before you blink owlishly. You both turn back to the talking ugly car.
“What kind of logic is….”
Daniel gets interrupted, AGAIN.
“Don’t try to wriggle your way out of this.”
The door open upwards, like that adds any value and you blink in confusion and annoyance. Who the hell was this Ken doll?
Expensive sneakers and some very nice pair of jeans you had saved on your asos basket.
“Kid I got everything recorded on my dash cam, you scratched it after I got a new wrapping.”
“It’s a ugly wrapping and we would’ve done you a fav-“
Daniel shook you to stop talking as he stepped backwards with you in tow. This pressure was overwhelming and overpowering. Oh shit. Was he also a gangster?
“So what’s it gonna be kids, will we stop by the police station, or will you two buy this car?”
……….
“I told you coming to country side was a bad idea.”
Daniel huffed.
“Well how was I supposed to know we’d get conned?!”
The blond man with his titties exposed and pearls dangling over his chest, his shirt collar open down to his mid chest like a man you’d find in a tropical resort drinking Angel shots, a gucci belt and g those cute jeans he wore. But you couldn’t deny, he was fucking cute.
He shook a wavy lock out his eye as he kept his sharp eyes on you two…. You fell into a 8 year old one direction stare as you dreamily stared at the older man infront of you……………..and then Daniel shrieked-
“L-LETS GO TO THE POLICE STATION! BECAUSE WE’VE DONE NOTHING WRONG!”
Daniel pulled you close again and you joined in.
“we were literally like 2 feet away!”
The blonde man blinked.
“Brats, what police station? I’m not the type of person who makes big issues out of small problems.”
“….HUH?!”
You were right. This beautiful man is having a hernia.
Daniel grew pissy.
“I SAID LETS GO! WHATS WITH THE CHANGE IN ATTITUDE?! YOU’RE NOT SURE EITHER ARE YOU???”
At this rate you just began laughing.
“Whats so funny? You laughing at me? Punk? Oi. Both of you, stop making a ruckus and just buy it, since we’re close I’ll sell to you two for cheap.”
You wipe a tear.
“With what? Universal credit?”
The blonde man almost agreed before Daniel interrupted.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN CLOSE?! WE JUST MET!”
The blond man put his hands in pocket and resumed the sass stance 101.
“Then what will you do about this scratch?”
You scoff and pull out your fake protective UV light glasses from Temu, Daniel joined in the search.
“WHERE EXACTLY IS THIS SCRATCH?!”
“Please just buy it-“
You glare and Daniel and huffs frustratedly.
“We’re not buying! Why would we buy such a childish car?!”
“Yeah?! I’d rather take that bus that smells like fe-“
Suddenly Daniel was 2 centimetres away from having his face smashed into the floor and you gasp. Pulling out your finished pepper spray.
“BACK, BACK I SAY-“
“What did you just say?Shitty car?”
His voice now cold. You shiver from the underlying ferocity in his voice and his cold eyes locked on Daniel. You put the spray away and grip his shirt, aiming to pull him off.
“Get off him! Why’re you harassing city kids?!”
The man’s eyes widened.
“Hold on. Your minors?”
You nod aggressively and Daniel answers.
“Yes.”
The man now blinked.
“19 years old?”
You both frustratedly whine in unison.
“18!!!!”
He drops Daniel and you push him out the way to get to your friend.
“Are you ok?!”
He nods vigorously.
“I can’t sell you both the car then.”
“WE DONT WANT IT!”
The blonde man began walking away.
“Relax I wasn’t gonna sell it to you two today anyways.”
You dead pan Daniel who just deflated before the blond spoke again.
“It’s just that kind of day. A sad day.”
“…….THAT DOESNT EXEMPT YOU FOR HARRASSING US?!”
He leaves and you pull out a sharpie.
“Y/N NO!”

4. Relaxing at a graveyard in Rivain. Possibly digging up corpses looking for loot, and maybe a companion or two.
5. Oh sarcastic! If you're a necromancer ya gotta have a lil giggles in ya to be around the LoF.
6. Davrin. Hunting down monsters may not be Rooks jam, but petting a cute griffon? And saving griffons? Can't pass that up! Not to mention going on walks with tea that makes ya high sounds like a pleasant evening.
7. Emmy. My lil Richy. He needed someone to understand the spirits like him that wasn't from the Mourn watch. An outside perspective, with equal reverence for the spirits.
8. At first? Lucanis. Until he showed her coffee and rum go well together.
9. Oh no, Isabela thinks we're still too down to earth to really get into the thick of it. That's why she lends us Taash, to really get the fire going under the Veilguard.
10. Shes been known to take a few sticks and bang on rocks for a good time.

12. Asexual, with a Panromantic heart. If things happen, they happen. But the true goal? Is getting a kiss and really feeling it down in her chest.

14. She's a big nature hobbyist. Going out on walks, seeing the wildlife, trying to maintain that balance of life and death.
15. She liked Antoine and Evka right away. And her first hatred was with the Mayor of D'metas crossing. Trading life for gold was silly. You rob graves to get gold and raise them. Give them new life, not condemning them to a branded unlife.
16. Assan may be a good boy, but she's always wanted to have a few druffalo to tag along and help ferry her treasure and new friends.
17. It feels like she got tossed into the life, just by happenstance. She doesn't mind, tho she detests the leadership she has to take on, it weighs on her.

She'd feel regret and pity and shame and continue the fight, knowing it was the only way, but knowing this man also had to be toppled.
21. Hard to pick a favorite, she uses a healthy balance of fire, necrotic and ice. But if she had to pick one? The fire beam ulti.

24. Oh absolutely. Whether the skeletons we raise have a semblance of the original owner or just a spirit accessing the memories who's to say. But we certainly pass on, somewhere.
25. Oh Deathcaller for certain. She'd wish to dabble in Evoker, but being a powerhouse in the back that can wipe a wave of darkspawn out in seconds is a Good Feeling.
26. Herding Dog. Not a war dog. I have a job, and it's helping these nerds figure themselves out and point them in the right direction. And I'm happy to do so.
27. Traipsing along ancient burial grounds mostly. Going into town to sell said goods, share interesting stories I've heard from the spirits in the tombs.
28. Oh Rook is Alllllll too happy to let Isabela take the wheel. Literally and figuratively. The Lords are far more chaotic than Took could handle. She needs a good balance of crazy and semi crazy, and sane to help Her stay sane.
29. Mourn Watch. So I could've snuggled up to this kindly older man quicker! He's such a charmer!
30. Her carefree and loving nature that she expresses to herself and all her friends.

i love my sister and for the most part, we are very close and genuinely like each other a lot but the one place where i'd just really, really, really like to see inside her brain is the part where she is still incredibly comfortable and cheerful—and even thinks it's really funny—talking about how much she didn't like me as a child while I'm like. yes. I am and was aware. and it sucked so so so much

its kind of funny to me that in the comics supergirl kind of occupies the spot for like the edgy superman. which is kind of weird for her typical role as kid sidekick to superman because her thing as a character (at least the versions of her character that i like) is that she doesn't have a reason to help anybody and doesn't like earth. edgy superman. but she's also the kid sidekick. strange juxtaposition
#it obviously depends on which comic you're reading#cause like there are completely different versions of supergirl depending on which version we're talking about#there's like 3 different supergirls with 5 different backstories#there's the one where she's a kind of slime goop that mimics the form of a girl--that was matrix#that was the version from the 80s that continued into the 90s--the weird run that had like angels and demons and stuff#god that one was weird#then there was the main one which is kara zor el but she has like 3 different backstories on her own#there's the argo city one which is truly horrible where like she watches thousands of people die in front of her#that one was most recently used in the supergirl woman of tomorrow comic written by the vile tom king at least as far as i'm aware#then there was the pod version (the more popular one) which has two variations on its own#variation one was that she's actually older than superman but got stuck in suspended animation for like 25 years#and variation two where she's just younger than him and i don't know how that works#of course the argo backstory is also the pod backstory they're not incompatible#it does beg the question of which you think is more tragic:#waking up one day to find out everyone you ever knew is dead and gone or watching them all die slowly in front of you#anyway the third super girl is power girl who is super girl except older so she's power girl because they didn't do a 2 spider man thing#this is easy to follow right#oh right and apparently they made a completely new backstory for her in my adventures with superman though i never watched that#because i still have to finish the supergirl cw show which is ANOTHER version of her character where she's 24 instead of a teenager#which sounds like a small thing but it literally turns her into a completely different character#i mean like powergirl is a completely different character isnt she#what was i talking about? right i kind of liked new 52 supergirl at least the first few issues#i really liked the disorientation of “where am i who are these people where's my family” she goes through#shame it kind of sucked#i'm probably not going to finish the CW show by the way. i'll probably give up halfway through season 3 if we're being optimistic

I dont think its tragic! His hair STILL comes down to his shoulder; he just doesnt have any annoying hair in his face that would make him want to make a ponytail. I think when u start balding u either panic or make ur peace and i think he was too worried about Other Things to care about it lol
As for hobbies, he has a Couple that i thought were cute and fitting.
Despite the anxiety, he is a bit of an entertainer. He can do magic tricks! Not very flashy ones but he knows alot of card and sleight of hand tricks; it is fun to see people stare in disbelief, and its a good way to keep his hands busy. The Autism prevents him from withholding Magic Secrets; if anyone asks him how he did it he will be very happy to share it. It helps that tricks are STILL hard to perform, even if u have the Knowledge of how it works.
He doesnt consider himself an artist but he can do caricatures 😊 I am very attached to my hc that he drew the little storefront logo for his own shop. Partly bc it would be easy for him to draw; mostly bc he did not want to waste money to get someone ELSE to do it if he could just do it his damn self. You will not catch him drawing or sketching anymore, even post game when hes doing better overall. But like most things, u can press him into showing off a little bit if u say the right words.
I hesitate to call it a hobby, but he will go jogging almost Daily. Well. When he was younger he jogged daily but nowadays he will at the very least Walk daily. He does it really early in the morning before he opens up shop, or in the evening if the weather permits. He doesnt like the rigidness of ‘working out’ though, and will avoid it like the plague; he is a little baby (princess) and does not want to get achey muscles and he does Not want to sweat at all its the worst. Post game, he will have random peeps join him for walks. He does not ask for this but it is not the WORST thing in the world to have some company :)

Isaac Turner’s got a really upbeat digital vibe to him that’s great, his songs are fun like Nelwards. Kinda like adjacent to Will Wood with the fun alternative sounds but way more into the music just for the joy of making music. Earth is a good starter song to listen to.
Nelward is also in that same branch where if you like fun kind of weirdcore vibes to songs you’ll like em. If you like songs from like WxS or fun songs like Shrimp Miku. Never wanna Fall in Love with you is a good starting song
If you like rap or gritty music like Odetari, Removeface is good.
One of my fav rappers is flo milli she’s good. If you prefer more Rnb you’d like FLO they’re a girl group who has like destiny child vibes. Their newest song Check is really good
Chlöe also has like Flo Milli and FLO vibes so if you like them you’d like her too
Back to a more peppy silly vibe is Spellcasting. They do just so much fun music and if you like vocaloid ppl constantly say they’re like a vocaloid producer.
For more calm stuff there’s artists like Raveena, Vansire, and Charlie Curtis-Beard. Vansire is SOOO good I personally love their stuff. Charlie does a ton of like smooth rnb I’d also recommend Rain in Pasadena
If you like dark like romance songs there’s also Obsessed by Luna Day which is really good. They used to be popular a while ago with animatic memes but Pomplamoose is a good one. Ignore that their recent album is in French and they’re planning another one in French soon, their old music is in English lololol
On the like older genre Autoheart and Ludo are great. Oh my gosh stalkers tango by autoheart and the entire You’re Awful I love you album by Ludo has my head forever.
Back to R&B there’s also like Lemon Baby by Maasho. Two dimensions by EASHA.
Jhariah is kinda like a mix of the ascending vibes you get from Charlie Curtis beard mixed with like etherealness but also the weirdcore vibe of nelward if that makes sense? A lot of their stuff is like supervillain animatic stuff but to like done by an artist who must’ve sold their soul to be producing such amazing work.
No Guidnce is like a male group of singers in the same way FLO is. They’re so good and literally so talented it’s crazy
Ilya is kinda like Chlöe. Her background music is great and she has such a nice voice. I like her songs Juice and her other song Tears.
The Happy Fits is an amazing band just as a whole they have like a fun beachy vibe
Funky name but Hong Kong Boyfriend is a great R&B artist that I really enjoy
Holy Hell by Ginger Root has like that love song R&B vibe but to the vibe of like those old wedding photos of couples just doing normal every day stuff? Like the older style sound is so good they’re like if you heard The Happy Fits but on a radio.
A similar artist is like Hojean. INSANE music talent and Let Me is so nice on the ears. It has like beach club vibes.
Citizen Queen is also a good girl group. I like their song XO and Special. They have a nice upbeat hip hop vibe that’s really fun
Ribbit by Swimgood is a super fun song about being a frog in love with a human.
For a more haunting genre Miracle Musical is always a good starting place. Blood and Bones by the Blake Robinson synthetic orchestra is a great listen too. Teddy Hyde also has a lot of like horror theme songs that are really good, I personally like Terry’s Taxidermy for the theatrics of it.
If you like Vocaloid idk if you have Sodikken but they’re really good
I think the peaks of like the haunting genre rn are Steampianist, the band Mili who puts out a lot of songs with a mixture of languages but mostly English, and like Babuchan (not English but still a really good listen).
Thing by Steampianist is a good opener to listen to if you wanna try them out. Tiny Fiends is also an amazing listen
Yaelorke also has a lot of song that I think fit r1999 really well for like the lost vibes.
Sparkbird is a really good artist to listen to if you like a disassociation kinda genre. A lot of their music just FEELS like derealization. A good starter there is Disembodied Mind or November.
Plus for a lot of vocaloid songs there’s like vtubers making similar songs in English since the fandom overlap!

well this sucks
#my chrome book is reaching the end of its natural lifespan#Ive gotten it to last like more than a couple years at this point#but chrome books are pretty much awful devices#so I need to go out and get a laptop that's NOT a chrome book#but for one thing I've literally never owned a laptop that's not a chrome book#I saved up and bought my current chrome book for like freshman year of highschool#I waited for a memorial day sale and special pricing so I could get it on like three discounts#so aside from the cost I have *no* idea where to go about buying a new laptop#I need one that's pretty sturdy at least and preferably similar size to a chrome book#I like the way I can charge things by attaching them to my Chromebook I like the way the keyboard is set out and I like that the touch-#screen and keypad aren't that sensitive#so I need to a) find a new laptop b) have the money to buy that laptop and c) learn how to use that laptop#none of which are things that I'll be particularly good at#I just want my 130 dollar old enough to be in elementary school hunk of plastic to work forever is that to much to ask#I've actually gotten it to live much longer than normal lmfao#really hoping it'll stay functional for at least another month or two#I hate getting new tech#I’ve still got an iPhone 8 for heavens sake#You can pry it out of my cold dead hands#I should probably get a new one but like. This one works pretty much.#Nothings cracked it charges fine all the buttons work#Honestly I’d prefer a phone a shade older than this one with a seperate headphone Jack#Basically the whole design of new phones is anti-me#Wide flat smooth super thin light and easily breakable#Plus I don’t have confidence that everything on this phone would transfer over. And this is literally the only phone I’ve ever owned#This thing is a treasure trove

Thinks oh so hard abt the spiraling upwards clan founders, especially the birchclan founders. Silly lil kitties who's pasts are drenched in blood with the primary regret of not drawing it sooner
#rat rambles#oc posting#warriors posting#spiraling upwards#long story short they had a shitty awful terrible leader who sucked absolutely ass and they tore him to shreds#I mean that literally they pinned him onto the mountain side and slashed and mauled the shit out of him so hard that his lives evaporated#and several of the cats involved in that scene are sill alive and major parts of the story and I love them#oh also the cat that pinned him through a stab through the throat was his own daughter btw everyone hated his ass so much#and for good reason get his ass#alas in the main story I dont rly get to go too deep into how he harmed everyone involved mostly just three main ones#aka bristlestar because shes murtlepaw's ghost mom dawncrackle because hes also haunting murtle and gullspot because shes bristle's kit#so basically all the flashbacks we get involve those three in some form or another#honeystar was also there and involved but Im not currently planning on having her rly talk abt that#most of her more modern angst is the fact that she was forced into leadership against her will#and shes been alive long enough that shes been leading birchclan far longer than she ever lived in her old clan#but she did go through a lot of shit before birchclan was founded and it definitely shaped her a lot#she used to be a very determined and high spirited lil kitty cat who tried to be optimistic#but her family began to slowly be picked off one by one by both the old leader and the one whod later get evicerated#some of the older cats around her hoped it make her back down from her revelutionary ideas but she noticed that and it backfired on them#instead of being worn down to submission she became absolutely Furious and began to lash out more and become more demanding#it got to the point that she really only had two friends in the entire clan and one of them was her aunt whod later also die after coming#out abt having witnessed the leader killing his own kits#that was the final fucking straw for her and she was fully on board when bristle and dawn started looking for cats to join their rebellion#she did get rly frustrated with them as they waited patiently for the right moment but her remaining bestie kept her from going apeshit#so once the big fight finally broke out she was more than eager to join the hoard of cats chasing the bastard upwards#now unlike some of the other cats involved this legitimately actually made her feel a lot better for a while#for the first time in ages she finally felt like she could be optimistic abt smth again and was excited abt the idea of leaving this place#she had lost so much in this damn place since she was an apprentice and just wanted to finally be able to rest easy#but once they got to their new territory and set up camp things went south real fast as a flood fucked everything up#and after losing the only cat she had left in her life and losing her tail and being made deputy on top of that she deteriorated quickly

The nicest person in the world is the lady who helped me tie my shoes at 5ish years old so i could go play during recess. (I elaborated in the tags but theyre fairly long,,) -???
#ive already told this story to some people but i love to tell it.#ok so when i was young i only wore velcro shoes bc i couldnt tie laces.#even now i havent learned the proper knot that literally everybody has learned. idk why i just cant commit it to memory but to be fair#i havent tried to learn it in years bc now i learned a different way to tie my shoes which takes longer so everybody is always like why do#you take so long tying your shoes.#but anyway this story is when i was around 5 maybe younger or maybe older but max 7 yrs old.#my mom only bought me velcro shoes since i couldnt learn how to tie my shoes normally and at some point trying to learn made me so#frustrated i just refused to try and cried etc.#so anyway in my old school there was this weird rule ive never seen anywhere else that we had to use other shoes in the class#i guess to avoid dirtying the floors or something.#and one time my mom bought me new shoes with laces and threw my old shoes probably thinking id have to learn it. i didnt lol.#so she tied my shoes in the morning and then i went to school changed shoes and like i had to like. put back my lace shoes on to go outside#for recess. now get that the teacher hated me. not sure why you would hate a child this age. but she was usually mean to me.#so when she saw this issue she was rlly annoyed and told me so and like the first few days she tied my shoes so i could go outside.#and idk after 2 or 3 times she got rlly tired of doing it and said i had to do it by myself. and she just like fucking left and went outside#leaving me alone on the staircase.#and now this building had a 2nd story which was like a house or flat where people lived. and they were totally unrelated to the school afaik#but the lady was always rlly nice. so she happened to be going down to go outside and about her day and she saw me crying by myself on the#staircase and said whats wrong and i told her i cant tie my shoes and she just helped me and consoled me and then i could go.#anyway she was an angel to me.#its hitting me now as i tell this that when i was a child many of the adults around me were really mean#so i really imprinted on nice adults like i thought they were really amazing and the best people ever.#anyway thank you for reading my story!!#lorisys

Thinking about what happened in the summer
Kids are... Really different when it comes to spending three weeks without their parents
Some start crying near the end of first day
Some start crying after couple of days
And some don't show anything while feeling the same
And being... I think English has a good word for that, let's go with a teacher but mix it with caretaker a little bit
I think seeing a kid cry at the end of that first day finally short circuited my brain, teens are way harder to understand that pre-teens who are literally still kids
They come around after a week, settle down and find new friends and your job stays the same mostly to be the one controlling their behavior
And then you'd have a kid crying again, because they miss home and the only thing you can really do is comfort them that they're not stuck here forever and that time flows so fast they won't notice it
And maybe they didn't. Time really did flew and they were leaving
Parents visited kids sometimes, of course, and it was so scary at first but they were mostly friendly and nice
Maybe because of that group chat that let them see that their kids are fine and are having fun
In the end for kids it was painful at first, but fun in the end. I got hugged more times than I could count when they were all leaving
And then poof
Back to your own life you go, like nothing happened
#not art#irl stuff#some thoughts#Every time I tried mixing my 'usual' behavior with the one I had back in the camp it felt like adding acid into water in the wrong order#Because it didn't feel right and it felt right at the same time#Like I just suddenly got a brand new way of behavior all together and it was so different that I stopped recognizing myself#Literally I'd work all day without much of a thought head full of WHERE EVERYONE IS ARE THEY SAFE??? And then at break near night go 'huh'#And at first I tried desperately to catch the usual behavior and bring it back on the break#And it never led to anything good because I'm supposed to be fully like in daytime 24/7#I did that one sketch of silly guys to just keep at least something in my head aside from being fully aware 24/7 of every passing second#I still don't know if I miss that or not#It felt so nice to not feel like I have no goal in mind anymore#A goal of 'get to the end of this with all of the kids fine and safe' without ever swearing or making them feel threatened was... Exhaustin#I never became some super sweet person to know so I did what I knew best - talked a lot telling about the things they liked#And if a kid is curious being interesting by telling stories that they didn't know about the things they liked is a way to be liked#Most of them probably forgot about me existing there but some probably didn't and would return next year again#Honestly I don't know why I failed so many exams when becoming a teacher is the only thing that makes me truly happy now#And super tired because THAT'S WORK and it's exhausting as hell some kids love to fight and you need all your diplomacy to work with it#Maybe that's just me missing my time with siblings when they were little I didn't get much time being a good elder sibling to them#I can't associate this work with becoming a parent for a month because I'm still not so different from those kids#Like... I've literally have been told by older kids that they mistook me for a teen like them#Excuse you but I'm like 7 years older than that#It was funny tho because I was considered a bit closer to them all instead of being a big bad grown-up#Yet some kids despised me because of that in the first group because welp not being an authority figure sucks#That being my first job sucks even more because I had no idea about the unspoken rules while everyone had aside from me and mom#Second try was way better because I knew exactly what I had to do even if I was terrible at making us participate in dances and songs#Thankfully it started raining and don't you dare let kids get cold from being in the rain at night that's just ridiculous#So it was like we had a slumber party with me letting them watch GF on my laptop and read some comics#It was way better than being forced to look at the other groups winning all over again. Kids disliked losing so many times in a row#And in the end the things we planned weren't exactly enough but when they were kids were happy and I was happy because we put so much effor
