Coming back to this to kind of talk about Dragon Ball ships in general, or at least the core canon ones. I think a huge part of what makes them appealing is just how kind of uniquely they're presented. Sure there are some tropes involved. You got the princess and the bumpkin, you got the rich heiress and the barbarian prince, you got the nerdy guy and athletic girl, you got a shy, kind, & sunny person and a very blunt, withdrawn person. You got the Enemies to Friends to Lovers route with K18, the high school romance with HanVi, the childhood sweethearts/promised marriage in GoChi, and you got the improbable romance with VegeBul. But the key lies in the presentation. For one, the way things are packaged is great. Goku is far from the traditional hero, and his princess is... well, far from the typical princess. She herself is the daughter of a king known for being terrifying, she has a temper, she's fiery and hands-on and puts her foot down. Very UNLIKE her typical character type. She and Goku also undermine the "fairytale ending" aspect. They bicker. They have conflict. They live in a small house in the middle of nowhere off what's left of her dad's money, eating very rustic foods that she makes herself from what Goku catches in the woods. But we also still see that they care about each other. There's a mutual love and respect that's present there. They may argue, but they also compromise. K18 is similar; two people who you would normally not expect to be together, yet bond over mutual respect and trauma, who come to care for each other deeply and fall in love. Krillin gets the family he always wanted, and 18 gets the normal life she'd feared Gero stole from her. And you can tell they genuinely love each other and enjoy one another's company. They endured abuse and trauma in their lives, yet came out so healthy and warm and are such great parents with a daughter who is the epitome of pure sunshine... it's just lovely. Bulma is an heiress, rich beyond belief, and a bit spoiled, sure... but she's also not afraid to get her hands dirty. She's hyper-intelligent, and always eager to learn new things, and tinker with any new technology she comes across. Vegeta is the prince of a dying race, an unrepentant killer, someone who cares for little more than his own ego, and... well... they actually DON'T have a relationship at first. They have a very brief fling that lasts only until Bulma decides he's too much of a jerk for her to stand and legit throws him out of her home. She winds up pregnant and has to raise their baby by herself for at least the first year of his life. Vegeta doesn't even care if they live or die at one point. It's not until the source of his obsession is gone and he has to bury some of that pride that he finally begins to approach this family he accidentally found himself with and learn to care about them. HanVi... honestly, it really is the most typical romantic trope, combines both the secret superhero romance and the high school romance, but it's approached from a primarily comedic angle. Videl being pretty much the only one to try to make moves while Gohan is just an oblivious dork who doesn't even realize any of the girls there are into him, let alone Videl, makes it still feel unique. And Videl being an accomplished martial artist and crimefighter herself while her dad (who also happens to be the guy who profited off her crush's victory) sits at home living the high life, are some nice twists on the trope too. And just seeing them together. Watching them age together, form families together, make things work. Getting the frustrations and laughs, but also the moments of genuine love and care... it's just so good. It's like the best of both worlds; just vague enough to leave a lot of room for speculation and headcanons and theorizing, but also just enough details to be adorable and sweet and bring the feels. Just a random addition I felt compelled to add, carry on. lol
What your opinion on krillen and android 18
I love everything about it and it is pure and it is wonderful and it has so many layers of depth to it that no one wants to look into which is frankly a crime…-ahem-When you get right down to it, the progression (stated progression at least) of their relationship is easily one of the healthiest in comparison to an irl relationship and would, therefore, be one of the stronger bonds in the show. On her part, it’s simultaneously easier to see, yet harder perhaps to understand, what it means for her to choose him. He’s not what most would consider a conventionally attractive man, he’s not as comparably strong, he’s not very exotic or wealthy, etc. and the last bit there is actually pretty sacrificial on her part. While 18 isn’t necessarily what I’d call materialistic, she does have a love for the finer things in life, likely both due to her delinquent lifestyle and being used to taking what she wanted, and also likely due to simply never having had them. Whether it’s residual memories of childhood, or simply the lack of memories of these things, I can’t say. But she gave that up, or at least put it on the back burner, when she married him. As for why she married him… it was because he wasn’t like anyone she’d ever met before. He wasn’t two-faced, he didn’t really serve any ulterior motives, he didn’t try to act tough to impress her, didn’t change himself to be more like what he’d assume she’d like him to be. He was just himself, he was honest and straightforward with her, he was a nice guy and not wild or “bad” at all. And that attracted her to him, she wanted more of that. He represented a normal, happy, decent future for her with someone who only wanted to see her happy, and she wanted that, and him, more than anything.As for his POV, it’s easy to see why he’d like her, but also harder to see what he had to overlook. On the one hand, let’s get real: she’s one of the few women who ever showed any kind of interest in or paid attention to him. She was the first one to ever even so much as kiss him on the dang cheek, so far as we ever saw in canon at least. And that did endear her to him. Is that sad and kinda pathetic? Yes, it honestly is to an extent, and he himself recognized that. But at the same time, as he learned more about her and even her brother, his outlook changed. These were two kids who, in the prime of their lives, had them stolen away, turned into weapons by some madman obsessed with revenge, who’d then decided they were outmoded, defective, and had tried to simply put them into storage like some kind of toy. He also noted, as Kami had, that the two really hadn’t done anything wrong. They’d killed Gero and had intended to be on their way until Vegeta had pressed a fight with the two, and the sole reason they were looking for Goku was so 16 could fulfill his prime directive and they could go live their lives however they wanted. He saw they wanted a semblance of normalcy, a chance to live. It’s part of why he smashed that remote rather than deactivate her, take away her personhood and reduce her to a thing again. It’s why he used a wish to try to restore her and her brother back to being completely human, but at least removed the explosives planted within them. He did this without thinking he’d get any benefit from it; hell, he was sure that her brother was her boyfriend at the time, that as attractive as she was she had to have someone, that he had no chance in hell of having any relationship with her at all, but… he still genuinely cared, wanted her to be able to have her life back, or at least some semblance of it.On the flipside, this is also why 18 snapped at him and accused him of saving her and expecting her to just fall at his feet in gratitude, why she tried to accuse him of making that wish to “win her heart”. It was how everyone had treated her. People were only nice to her when they expecting to get something in return, or helped her seeking some form of gratuity. But this man, this weird, funny little man who’d tried to reason with her instead of assuming she was a monster… he hadn’t. He treated her like a person and gave her a chance to live expecting absolutely nothing from her in return.That’s what sparked off their relationship, that’s what bloomed into love, a marriage, a family. And that is why I do feel they are objectively among the most underrated fictional couples of all time in ANY series.

I have never seen anything so satisfyingly bad in my entire life, and we’re going on like ten years of these Live Action Remakes.
Don’t you DARE go see this movie if you love the real Lilo & Stitch.
1 - Where is Gantu? Why did they cut him out of the trailer? Is it because they haven’t finished rendering him yet, because let me tell you, that’s what it looks like for every other character.
2 - Why is Stitch so small. Why is he so small. Why is Stitch that small. He’s supposed to be the same size as Lilo. 1 because it creates more visually-appealing shot compositions when the story is focused on the TWO of them 2 because thematically he is “a future Lilo,” he is the little monster-version of herself that she could turn into if she didn’t have family 3 because the size of a 6 year-old is the perfect balance between “threatening” and “non-threatening” when he has to interact with toddlers and 18 year-old women and 40-foot-tall aliens alike. He cannot. BE. That small. What, we’re supposed to have him stand up on a stool or a stack of books or a countertop every time he and Lilo need to look each other in the eyes?? Did anyone think while making this movie?
3 - How does his orange jumpsuit look so much lazier than it does when it’s a hand-drawn collection of colors and shapes in the original?
4 - Why did they choose the take where the New Nani Actress said “nobody get’s left behind” in a whiny, exasperated voice? When the real Nani specifically delivered that line as if she were somberly, mournfully, reverently remembering what her parents told her? And then moves on to “slightly-annoyed” but only when it’s time to say “I know, I know.”

5 - Why is Stitch so small.
6 - Is that Jumba’s voice?? Why? Why is it not even deep? Why did they re-write the line so he doesn’t mention Stitch as a “monstrosity?”
7 - Speaking of monstrosities—go back and re-do Pleakley. All of him. What—what happened. What happened?? They made every alien I can see in the trailer uglier and less appealing than Stitch—which is SO NOT THE POINT OF HIS CHARACTER DESIGN—but none looked worse to me than Pleakley. He has a fish eye. It is horrifying.
8 - And they made sun-tan-ice-cream-tourist look local. So like…what’s the point of her taking his picture, then? In the beginning of the movie? He’s in the movie to be an example of a hapless tourist, and tourists mean something specific in LILO’s little headspace—she takes safari-pictures of them in her hometown like they’re a rare, foreign sight, because that’s her way of processing the reality that these are people who specifically come to her home just to leave again—and Lilo has issues with people leaving.
9 - Don’t put Stitch on a leash. Don’t do that. There’s a reason they don’t do that in the movies. 1 He is super strong and he is not trying that hard to hide his super strength, especially not when it comes to resisting Nani telling him what to do. 2 Lilo and Nani live in a very laid-back sleepy neighborhood, it changes the vibe when dogs are on leashes. It’s supposed to feel so laid-back that there are lots of free-roaming dogs and no strictly-enforced leash-laws. There are other dogs in the movie and none of them wear leashes or collars. (I know it’s small but the small choices build the movie.)

10 - Lilo. I like that little girl. She can play Lilo all day for all I care. But that is not Lilo. Lilo doesn’t get hip-checked to the ground and then sit there looking sad. I don’t—why do I have to say that? That’s many people’s favorite part of the movie, that she just goes ballistic on Mertle the minute she’s provoked. That better just be a specific edit in the trailer. They better not have cut out her punching Mertle Edmunds in the face. And you know what else? She does not. SCREAM. When she first meets Stitch! You know they could’ve done that, right?? You realize that every other character who sees Stitch for the first time reacts LIKE THIS:

BUT NOT LILO. LILO does not react like any old stereotypical girl. She also does not react like any alien from any planet or any grown women or any tourists expecting to see foreign sights. She reacts uniquely like Lilo: like a nervous little girl hoping to find a friend, who doesn’t bat an eye if that potential friend is blue and shark-mouthed and monstrous. (Everything else about that little girl is perfect, I like her line delivery, I like that she goes “pretty close” when he mispronounces “family,” the original Lilo says “pretty close” in the same tone when she’s trying to teach him how to say new words in the television series.) 11 - Why doesn’t Stitch’s face move at all? Why does it look like his eye muscles and nose muscles have no range of motion, but his lips have way too much? He’s supposed to talk with his jaws more than his lips, like how a crocodile can’t chew or keep food in so it just opens and shuts it’s jaw and throws food to the back of it’s head.
12 - Speaking of re-writing lines, what’s with Lilo and Stitch having an exchange where he admits to being “bad??” And then she point-blank says “family isn’t perfect. But that doesn’t mean they’re not good.”
Is that supposed to be a nod to Stitch saying, at the end of the movie, “It’s little and broken but still good?”
Do you know why the real Stitch is the one to say “it’s (his family’s) little and broken, but still good?” Because he’s saying “good” as in, “acceptable.” “The way it ought to be.” Not “good” as in “morally good” the way that Stitch is “morally bad.” He just uses the word “good” because Stitch can barely speak English and that was the simplest, best way for him to say what he was trying to communicate. If you take him to mean “morally good” then the whole point of the movie gets ruined.
The point of the movie is that the people in your family aren’t perfect, but imperfection won’t break your LOVE for them. It doesn’t mean you ignore your imperfections, and it doesn’t mean you embrace those imperfections and celebrate those imperfections—if it did, you know what, Stitch would still push Lilo to the ground and wreck her stuff and laugh when she’s hurting, the way he does because of his “imperfections” at the start of the movie. But instead, what family is supposed to do with “imperfections,” according to the original movie, is love you anyway and stick around helping you work through them.
That’s the whole point of “nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
It cannot mean “family members aren’t perfect but we still believe they’re morally good people.” Because that implies that it’s the fact that they’re “morally good people” that makes you stick around, when the whole point of the movie is the opposite: Stitch is objectively morally evil, and they choose to stick around anyway.
Stitch is objectively morally evil. I have to stress that. That’s the whole movie. The whole movie is “what if we start with the villain and redeem him.” If he’s not a villain he doesn’t need redeeming and if he’s not bad it takes all the power out of Lilo’s love for him.
And honestly, he never comes to terms with the fact that he’s “morally bad” in this movie. That’s not the point. He would never admit “Stitch bad” in the original movie. Chris Sanders said, “By the end of the film, he’s not a better person. He has just understood family.”
He becomes “a better person” in the epilogue. But in the original movie, Stitch doesn’t think so much about the difference between “bad” and “good.” He thinks more about the difference between “belonging” and “not belonging.”
Why is this so hard
If you like me don’t go see this movie. More importantly, if you like the original movie—if you think it was good—if you think it was excellent—accept no imitations. Do not go see this new remake.
Remember what Anika Noni Rose just said about the new Princess and the Frog shorts that are coming out—Disney is counting numbers. Do not stream. Do not buy tickets. Just stream and watch the original. And tweet Chris Sanders and tell him how much you love the old one.

OMG, what is this patch?! (SPOILER)
The little things they’ve added around Henry and Hans's room are everything! I know many have already pointed these out, but that won’t stop me from babbling about it too!

Alright, let’s start directly with the potion right outside their room! The happiness potion (Idk what it’s called in english, in german it’s named "eine Prise Glück", which translates kinda to "a little bit of happiness").
What is this description, pls? "Such luck can’t be found anywhere else. One of the side effects is dancing in the moonlight." That sounds so beautiful! It feels like a metaphor for their romance - a secret they can only share in the dark, but that doesn’t diminish its beauty. A love that feels like a dance under a clear night sky, where the moon and the stars are the only silent witnesses who don’t judge.

german description for 'a little bit of happiness' - what does this potion even do out there? Did someone put it there or is it just a subtle symbol for blossoming, young emotions?
Also, the little dog toy right next to Hans's bed - a symbol of interest in Henry's life. Hans got it (I’m totally convinced of this) for Mutt, to show his affection and interest - the dog who is really important to Henry. It also could be symbolize an apology for what happened at the beginning of the game. Hans broke his promise to help Henry find his dog, which is why he tries to show his appreciation for Mutt. He shows that he cares about him and doesn’t just tolerate him. Mutt is important to Henry and therefore to Hans - not just because he simply likes the dog, but also because he knows how much Henry cares about Mutt.

The dog toy on Hans's nightstand—where did he even get it from? Did he buy it or did he even make it himself?
And of course, the stamina potion under Hans's bed, along with the poetry book! I don’t know what the thought process behind this was, but I’m thankful to whoever decided to put it there. Just the idea that Hans owns a poetry book with an undoubtedly queer subtext is brilliant! It suggests he has a certain interest in this topic - no matter what. (I think we don’t actually know who wrote it, do we? Personally, it seems like Hans might have written it himself, given how the book is laid out - no embellishments on the pages, just plain text and -I'm sorry Hans- medium-good poetry.)
Hans seems to really want to engage with the topic and apparently also with his own emotions. It’s such a sweet little detail that really shapes his character! He clearly is still a bit confused, but he’s trying to handle it in his own way. I really don’t want to be needy, but I hope we get more of these little things in future updates or with the DLCs.
The stamina potion on the other hand is pure comedy - what does Hans need this extra strength for? For when he has a bit of time alone or when someone is visiting? Or maybe it isn’t even for him? Perhaps it’s for someone else who has to keep up with Hans through certain "activities."

I’m crying tears of happiness because of this patch! But also because Henry just casually stole Hans's poetry book - that's so hilarious! Imagine the mental crisis Hans will go through when he notices his book is missing. 🤣

since your take on sonic in this comic is that he is a bit more flawed (AND I LOVE IT), what do you think of his depiction in prime? some think he's too soft uwu fluffy and whatnot.
Rant under cut:
So, I have mixed feelings about Prime Sonic. I think making Sonic flawed is good and awesome, I think there's a lot of room to put the "Dude with a 'tude" trait under a magnifying glass and really explore what that MEANS in terms of like, say, his relationships outside of the one he has with The Antagonist.
The showrunners didn't do that, however. They wanted to write about this version of Sonic that "takes his friends for granted" but failed to show that in the writing, itself. What we ended up getting instead is a Sonic that doesn't seem to understand or respect the differences between Tails and Nine (and this is only truly explored with Sonic and Nine and much less so than with the other characters' relationships with Sonic). That's not "taking his friends for granted," that's something else entirely -- And while that aspect of Prime Sonic is interesting, it's never explored enough.
That also said, this is a problem that is not at all attached to Sonic's core character traits. His flaws in other media usually do stem from what Sega (and Sega of America) originally baked into him from the start. He's impatient, he's disrespectful, he picks fights with people (mainly Knuckles). Meandering away from those beginning traits, Sonic Unleashed and Frontiers have both shown us that Sonic can and will hide his problems from people. Where did this "takes his friends for granted" thing come from? It feels made up -- And then completely forgotten by the very same people claiming that's what they're doing.
He's late like one time to cause the initial problem, but this is never a recurring thing. He doesn't hear Tails warn him about Eggman's little trick at the very beginning, but that's not his fault? If they had written Sonic to be more actively pushing away Tails's advice instead of this being nobody's fault, it would've shown that flaw more clearly -- And also, even after the fact! Sonic went out of his way to bring Tails comics and talk about what happened since he saw his little buddy was all huffy and mad. A Sonic that takes his friends for granted wouldn't do that! A flaw like that would probably mean he'd shrug, say "He'll get over it" and move on.
Why make up a flaw for Sonic to have (and then get too scared to commit to it) when there's so much already there that the showrunners could've done instead? Well, considering they were flat-out ignoring the lore team and making Sonic act like he's never seen a robot-version-of-himself before, I would say they did this because they don't actually care about Sonic, and don't ACTUALLY know about his already-existing flaws.
Mainly I just think the writing wasn't all that great. I really wish I liked Sonic Prime. I tried really hard to.

When talking to people about Death Note outside of fandom spaces, I am almost always met with the confession that after L's death, these casual readers and watchers tend to lose interest. This is frustrating on several levels (even though I admit the Second Arc has plenty of flaws), but one reason in particular is that Near and Light's dynamic is so complex that it feels like such a shame to not give it a chance.
Think about it this way. If L and Light mirrored each other in a standard manner of speaking, Near and Light mirror each other like some distorted fairground mirrors, fun but slightly horrifying.
As I said in my Mello and Light Parallel analysis, Near falls into the same category as a gifted child dealt with immense pressure from an early age nonetheless (although he is not prone to violence as the other two are) . Like Light, Near is a high achiever whose intelligence appears to come naturally, and there may even be room to speculate whether he felt a degree of boredom himself in much the same way Light did at the start of the series. We can't really know this for certain, the only indication we have is that Near was content playing on his own. Without Mello's drive, and indeed the isolation from others at the House, it is not far-fetched to suggest Near was not exactly feeling stimulated by his current environment. Light was given an opportunity to alleviate his boredom, whereas for Near, it was an obligation. Both characters are given their break from unfulfilled monotony because of the Death Note.
Another thing I think is interesting is their emotional reactions to both success and failures. This is more apparent in the manga, where Near is shown to express himself more through visual cues, but neither hold back in claiming victory, or disdain in the case of their losses. Arguably, Light is more conscious of how his manner of expression can be interpreted by others, but that doesn't negate the fact that he has very strong reactions to progressions within the case. I also do think Light isn't quite as adept at concealing these emotive responses as many often suggest – personally, I believe there is a good degree of willful ignorance by those he surrounds himself with that allows for his more questionable behaviours to go unchallenged. Especially by the time he and Near 'meet' (or, at least, are in communication with one another), Near immediately calls bullshit on Light, which is particularly funny given that L had been doing the exact same thing, but it is only with Near that the Task Force begin to grow suspicious of Light.

Anyway.
Near is less concerned about expressing himself because he has no reason to manipulate those around him, and as such, the best part of the series to talk about the dynamic between these two is of course the final scene at the Yellow Box Warehouse. Although for a first time reader, the conclusion of the series might not be reaching a point of clarity, it is apparent that Near has had the upper hand, with Light having little more on Near than an outdated sketch and an awareness of his relationship to L. Meanwhile, through his own impressive efforts, Near has restructured the care around Light and has far more understanding of the man he is dealing with. Therefore, when they finally do meet, Near is already in the dominant position.
The comparisons between the two is extremely explicit. Unlike with L and Light, which played out like an alternate cat-and-mouse game until L's death, Near and Light arrive at the Warehouse under the impression they will both walk out alive. The reasons for this are clarified once Near's victory is ultimately achieved, but after Near takes off his L mask, both he and Light so evidently confident in their positions that it makes for an incredibly tense moment. Again, it also speaks to their shared reactions.
Light is shown to both claim victory and contend with defeat within a matter of pages, to revel in his success before pathetically scrambling as he attempts to rectify the circumstances in his favour. His monologue, now infamous, is mirrored by Near's closing statement, which is equally provocative. It is easy to interpret his words as nothing more than stating the facts, explaining exactly how he caught Light towards the end and that he despises the man behind the dominion of Kira's reign. Yet his invocation of Mello and L, I think, speaks to his own sense of strong feelings pertaining to the confrontation. When Light disavows Mikami, realises Misa is not present alongside him, there is a reality both he and Near have come to realise – Light is completely isolated, while Near has not just the SPK and the Task Force only his side, but two lives sacrificed to pursue Light to the end.

It didn't always feel right especially in the beginning.
Even when you finally agreed to get together with Katsuki after stumbling into each other’s lives years later past graduation. You had lingering doubts that struck deep. Deeper than you'd like to admit because never has Katsuki failed you in showing his love and care.
Be it through his actions like having at least one arm glued around you at all times or making you food that you mentioned you've been craving. Heck even through words you know he finds difficult to utter, he does it easily with you. Sure probably not as much as some other people might but it doesn't take away that they were meaningful nonetheless, maybe even more so.
So why?
Why is it that you're back in the time where it was him and her. Back when you didn't even think it was plausible to catch his attention. Back when everyone believed they'd end up together.
Well it all started on everyone's favorite weekend, Saturday.
It was a morning you've grown used to, the usual morning beverage, the familiar chirping tweets of the birds just outside the slightly open window with the cool breeze pushing in. It wasn’t grand by any means but it was all home.
Re-entering your bedroom to then shuffling the messy sheets you searched for your phone on the bed and underneath the pillows. Grabbing the device you quickly went to check any messages you might've gotten. Seeing your favorite person right dab at the top, at 8:37 AM.

You let out a small laugh.

Oh shit.
Quickly you freshened yourself up in the bathroom and made your way through your closet putting on whatever cute dress you could find.
You learned from last time that he really meant it when he was almost there.
In a second or two he'd ring the doorbell and-
Ding.
You didn't bother opening the door for him knowing he had a key to your place so you continued dressing yourself. However you were unable to reach the zipper behind your dress as you tried with all your might. Twisting your body in an angle the door suddenly opened.
There stood with slightly widened eyes was Katsuki. He looked effortlessly cool even with just a black shirt and dark jeans.
"You're not making this easy for me y’know." he said, leaning on the doorframe with arms crossed.
"Well that's the point of getting hard." you answered without thinking.
"You aren't funny and I never found ya funny." he spoke with an amused smirk.
You huffed annoyed.
"Be quiet and help me."
As soon as you said that he got up and walked towards you, keeping you in place with a firm but gentle hold as he assisted.
"..-on't have to go.”
"What?" you asked, not completely hearing what he said, turning around and seeing his slight pout and furrowed brows.
“I said we don't need to go." he spoke a little louder, wrapping his muscled arms around your shoulders.
Practically suffocating your face but it’s a death you don’t mind dying by.
"Suki you haven't seen your friends in probably ages." you said or tried to as the words got muffled from his rather passionate embrace.
"Yeah but I don't wanna see their dumb faces. They're all too damn loud and nosy.” he retorts, placing his forehead against yours.
"We already said we'd go." you replied returning his hug by reaching your arms around his back.
He sighed and relented.
"Fine."
As both of you headed outside he started walking a little bit ahead of you, reaching the black sleek car he opened the door for you to enter first. Moving to your seat you buckle your seatbelt as he gets in himself.
The drive was filled with a few idle exchanges but was mostly spent in a comfortable silence. The way the two of you can just sit together this way was something you're grateful for. There wasn't an excessive need to talk about everything and anything at once and both of you understood and appreciated each other anyway no matter if it's through words or none at all.
Now that you're thinking about it, maybe none of this would’ve happened if that didn’t happen.
"Remember when you almost killed me?" you brought up breaking the serene atmosphere.
He deadpanned and looked at you in the rear view mirror.
"Okay, I told you to stop wording it like that.”
You threw your back in a relaxed manner and giggled. To cut him some slack you are dramatizing it a little bit.
"Well I'm happy it happened." you concurred with a smile.
He raised a brow and looked at you weird.
"What? You almost getting hurt?"
“Not that part but we started acknowledging each other more after no?"
He nodded in thought as you looked ahead, reminiscing the moment that might’ve started it all.
FLASHBACK
"-(/n)!!"
"DUMBASS LOOK OUT!!!"
You heard multiple shouts at once though you were unsure if it was directed at you. That was of course until you saw an explosion head your way.
FUCK!
Raising a forcefield you managed to blocked in time.
Although the quick shock made you tumble down either way.
"Oof.”
Laying on the grass you could only see the cloudy sky. You might've been up there actually if you didn't save yourself in time or down but let's not go there.
As you sat up a few of your classmates came running to your aid. Momo in particular fretted over your body, checking for any injuries. While Hagakure and Uraraka shot a multitude of questions and concerns.
"Are you okay!?"
"Is your back fine?"
"How many fingers am I holding??!"
"Hagakure you're invisible."
As more and more figures surrounded you the more dizzying everything became. Truly you appreciated their worries for your safety but things were getting too swirly for you to understand anything.
“Wha-“
"MOVE YOU USELESS FUCKS." The blonde would scream shoving across his other classmates.
Being so close to him was weird in a butterflies being prisoners bursting out your stomach in jail kinda way. From what you can remember the most near you ever gotten to him was when you two were lining up to get on the bus one school trip ago during your second year.
"A-ah! Bakugou?"
"Here." he spoke irritably calm reaching an arm out.
That surprised you because you thought he was gonna finish the job and off you from the world for whatever reason. Not that he would kill per say nor that he wouldn't kill, just his personality you noticed of getting things done.
"Oh! Thanks." you grabbed his hand and pushed yourself up.
Honestly never in your entire life since you started attending U.A have ever thought you'd end up in this mess of a situation. Awkwardly standing with hands held to a guy you might've admired a little more than an average person, surrounded probably by your entire class right now.
With the last person to reach you being Nitta Shika with her arms crossed and eyes glaring straight at you or rather your intertwined hands. You quickly let go of Bakugou, not wanting to make her misunderstand anything between you two.
For a quick second you noticed a hurt look flash through Bakugou’s eyes, maybe you offended him?
"What happened." An emotionless voice asked.
Ah. Mr. Aizawa.
"I left for one minute, someone better fess up. Now.”
Instilling fear in everybody in the vicinity of the situation.
There it was explained that Shika had been messing around and annoyed Bakugou to the point of actually blasting her a new one. However obviously she dodged but what Bakugou didn't know was that you were behind her.
Nitta was held in detention for the day as well as Bakugou because both are partly to blame. With Nitta who should’ve been focusing on training and with Bakugou who shouldn’t have gone through with such a dangerous move like that even when knowing the other person would dodge.
In addition to the fact that he didn't check his surroundings which could've seriously hurt people around him and that is not something you wanna do during quirk practice or out in the real world.
After that whole fiasco, you’re just glad he knew you existed. But what you didn’t know was that he already did.
END OF FLASHBACK
"I told you I didn't know your dilly dally ass was there." he said as he swerved the car left.
You faked an offended gasp.
“Don't be mean to me."
He let out a boisterous laugh as if that was the most hilarious thing he has ever heard.
"Sure, sure.”
Flustered you leaned out the window asking if you're there yet.
"Almost.”
"And by almost you mean in one, two—“
"We're here."
Stepping out the vehicle you begin to feel your palms sweat and heart beat a bit faster than usual.
It isn’t that you weren’t friends with the dubbed ‘Bakusquad’ but you just weren’t in the friend group like that so naturally you didn’t grow so so close to them.
However with Kirishima being the most accepting and friendly, he’s actually the only one you’d consider a close friend due to seeing him and actually hanging out with him when with Katsuki. At times going out on hikes, for lunch, or to the gym.
After that would be Sero, Kaminari, then Mina. Sero because he was chill, Kaminari because he was funny, and Mina because…..well you didn’t get to spend much time with her. She was always with Nitta, being a dynamic duo in the squad. Kinda like with Katsuki and Kirishima as well as Kaminari and Sero. Hopefully you don’t seventh wheel.
But you really shouldn’t be too worried there was gonna be some other people both in and out of Class 1-A attending so really what could go wrong?
Apparently everything.

"Do you remember the night we met?"
You hum more to yourself than to the figure behind you.
"The lady on the bridge, dress fluttering wildly with the wind? Of course not."
You feel steps behind you - you've learnt to anticipate him even in his careful silence around you. A warm presence lands on your shoulder and moves up your neck.
"I don't remember her beautiful face, hollow and torn at with a weight she couldn't carry alone anymore."
His kisses travel upwards and nudge your ear. His voice turns to a sweet soothing whisper.
"Nor do I remember how her hair enveloped her features as she sunk those pleading yet resolute eyes into mine, I don't remember feeling like a little universe breathed life into itself and almost died right in front of me."
You smile sadly but cradle his head on your shoulder with your palm running through his thick black hair. He sinks into the rhythm of your gentle movements and you hear his breathing grow steady.
"I don't remember her shivering elegant hands enveloping the bullet, like she was handling a delicate flower."
His kiss travels to your cheek before sinking his warm lips into the crane of your neck. His shared warmth travels through your shoulder and envelops itself in your chest like a little owl cozying into its nest.
"I don't remember the feeling of my heart stopping and my tie growing too tight as she handed me the live bullet. Handing me her whole life with trust she told me she didn't have. I cannot recall her tranquil yet timid smile, as if trying to sooth both me and herself - and she shivered, hands still intertwined."
He uses one long leg to sidestep around you and remain in the warm confines of your neck. His other hand finds your unoccupied side and trails a brush of a single finger from your cheek down to your jaw. One finger caresses it in slow, repetitive motion.
"A beautiful ghost in front of me, her lips still caressing mine although so far from me. I don't remember spinning the magazine so she didn't know a thing. I don't remember how the motion of taking the bullet out felt like the most natural thing in the world. As if my fingers knew what to do before my mind leapt to agree."
You giggle softly, trying so very hard to believe him. It seemed so unthinkable, so far away. His kisses reply by trailing your cheek, brushing lips against each molecule of skin they find, as if he cannot bear to be disconnected from you for even a second. His hand envelops your neck softly, protectively, and rests against you. Nudging the small of your nape as he moves down to kiss your chin, your neck, moving lower to the hollow of your throat.
"Serene, dignified, and I wish I could remember that little universe reaching out to me like a newborn baby asking to be held."
He plants a kiss straight in the little dimple where your breath always gets caught when you're nervous.
"So polite even in her tired, sharp, enveloping armour. Can't remember, not one bit, how astounded I was when she thanked me."
His breath rests on your skin and you don't stop swaying, only ease the motion as if to calm him.
"Knowing she'd likely die. But she wanted to thank me for the few moments of torturous peace - and I don't remember."
His hand clasps your shoulder, though his body remains steady. You feel his breath quicken and continue your lulling motions as his hand trails and holds onto your back.
"I don't remember how my hands froze and grasped at thin air, how much I longed to be in her hair again, so close to her face, so intertwined with her that skin would feel like a barrier. How much I wanted her to hush into my suit and bury her head into my chest - I don't remember the anger I felt as I didn't understand. I didn't understand and I had felt...like the game had played me."
Finally he lifts up from your embrace, your chest, your throat, and sinks his eyes - so calm and wistful now - into your own. Threatening to pull you in with their seemingly true sincerity. How much those eyes can say when they actually speak - and how much was reserved for you.
Even now, it both daunted and melted you anew. He wouldn't show that to just anyone. And just anyone wouldn't bother to read every single twitch, non-blink, and gentle crane as his charcoal pupils followed yours.
"Because I simply don't remember feeling like I had no choice."
You let the silence speak, not wishing to intrude. Softly you breathe into him.
"That sounds...awful for you, darling."
"Oh," he smiles politely, not quite teasing, "it would be absolute torture if I remembered anything at all."
He places your face in both his hands and envelops you - how you love when he can do that and leave almost nothing without warmth and still remain so gentle - as gentleness is a choice he willingly lays down - and he kisses your forehead, the bridge, then the tip of your nose and finally, your mouth. Brushing his lips from one corner to the other before simply remaining at their side, touching, feeling, being.
"Though one thought that I do remember keeps me up at night, dear mine."
His voice had changed to a low coo as he smiles at you, one corner lifting yet concealing feigned seriousness. The air grows just a little colder.
"And I can remember it quite well."
You pause, studying his face, his features, unsure if he's truly being serious or still half playing with you. He leans close, lips brushing your ear. You smile as it tickles and you feel his breath hop just a little bit - you know this one, he's trying not to laugh or give away the game too soon.
"She seemed quite enamoured with someone else. Tell me, sweetheart, and don't lie..."
The atmosphere has stiffened but you remain ever still, anticipation cradling the warmth in your chest. Though your gentle lulls have also ceased. The air holds a breath for you and he gladly snatches it for himself:
"...does Death really have such nice calves?"
You burst out laughing, doubling over into him and grabbing his back as you use his suit for cover.
"I'm so sorry, darling," you muffle between giggles into his all-enveloping frame, feeling his hands lay upon you in return and guide your whole body into his, his own chest fondly lifting in a subdued series of chuckles.
"I mean it was a tough choice, really had to think hard about it. Calves, the cape...to be honest..." Your hand finds his throat, tapping on the collar of his shirt before playfully but gently yanking at his tie.
"It was the tie."
"The...tie?" He pulls away in utter jovial surprise, still pretending he's trying to be incredibly serious on such dire matters. But the corners of his mouth are twitching and that gorgeous round face is as full of life as it was when you first jumped into a kiss unprovoked.
"Yep. Darling. The tie. Death might have the legs and the cape, but he doesn't have that absolutely dapper tie. Or those gorgeous hands that always make sure it's in place when you're getting serious."
"Then allow me," he straightens and adjusts his tie, his face falling into an unreadable mask of absolute cool resolution.
"Still offended, little lady, this shan't go unpunished."
A glint in his dark eye reminds you who this is you're taunting. And it sure doesn't help you cease nor desist.
"Gosh, if only the young knight knew he didn't have to play chess, lose everything in the game itself, if only he had simply...adjusted his tie. Death would have had to fold right then and there."
The absurdity is rivaling your own attempts at not losing your composure again.
He lifts you into him, as lightly as if it were nothing to him, reminding you how much stronger and how much more dangerous he truly is - but leaves it all (well, most of it) at the door when it comes to you.
As you snuggle into his neck and kiss him, caressing him with your face, your forehead, and planting your lips wherever you can in little intervals and feel his nudges and hushed breaths in reply, you whisper in his ear as his hands tighten around your waist, letting one do the holding and the other trail fingers up and down your back:
"Your calves are very pretty too, just so you know."
A very serious inflected 'hmmm' fills the silence and you get flung into him, now using your legs to steady around his waist and grip.
"Well, we can't have that, I need to outplay Death again it seems. On the matter of calves."
He leans in and gives you a small kiss, feigning exasperation but adjusting you with a little jump right against his own lower body.
"Little lady, you're impossible."
You blush from your cheeks to your chin and your heart might just flutter out of your chest.
"And that tie would look far better around my mouth, I know, I know."
He lifts both eyebrows, intrigue rushing through the playfulness and the attempts at remaining stoic. Was that a little hand flutter?
"I was thinking wrists, to be quite honest, because I've grown fond of that mouth of yours - then again, you seem rather radiant lately."
That smile becomes truly devious and you could swear the atmosphere packed its bags and left the building, unable to breathe here.
"What if I flipped you on the bed in lieu of a coin?"
You tip your head back and laugh, blushing evermore, feeling every warm part of his body against you, enveloping you, caressing you.
"Heads?" You kiss his forehead, a whisper of a giggle hiding in your smile.
"Tails." He moves his hand down the small of your back, teasing gently, caressing you from the curve of your waist down yet never even beginning to act crude. Yet.
"What if I land on my side?" You cock your head to the left and try not to smile, truly living the wager here.
"Then I get both," he simply states as if the matter was settled and carries his radiant love to play.

A random post for Dain Aetos ... because not only is he growing in my favorites list as I process Onyx Storm, (and an even better character in re-reads, as I do those briefly & with bestie who's finishing OS) ... he also just doesn't get enough credit (something l am also guilty of) and now I think he might even deserve to be a favorite. (While I won't excuse his earlier behavior; and no this is not about Sloane alone) I also will give credit where it's due... and hope he doesn't betray this post into aging horribly in the upcoming two books!
A (hopefully) brief summary of his "first read" character journey with me: …
I'm sure there's more to say but this is the best l've got rn lol
FW (Fourth Wing)
At the very beginning of the book I liked him and I thought l'd grow to absolutely love him (l'm a sucker for friends to lovers). The fact he knew Violet, understood the nature of EDS, and helped take care of her was sweet & for a time felt supportive.
However, that quickly became a frustration as it felt like he didn't actually know Violet; he knew an idea (or one-sided view) of her. And while time had passed and he has changed, she did too & he quickly forgot that/refused to see how she changes & grows. ... Well-meaning as it was, he began making choices for her and wasn't actually listening to Violet herself, which at times was endangering her by not seeing the situation as it was. Which led to me quickly becoming frustrating by his belittling & the control + the danger this posed by her not training correctly; and just generally showing his very one sided view & inability to change or grow or allow that for anyone else.
Then, by the time Liam dies my heart broke & twisted; if he had known in any way then he was dead to me too... however, he didn't know.
IF (Iron Flame)
Dain is wracked with guilt. He knows Liam died, he does feel responsible. He doesn't know what is fully going on but his best friend despises him, his father is being unusually shady, and then he has to deal with Varrish. None of this mattered to me half as much as it did in re-reads. As scenes like the sparring actually really frustrated me, and I wanted her & her boundaries respected.
But then he does save Violet... and at the cost of killing leadership. That was a huge turning point.
One to process but also one that was felt in the moment.
Also it gave hindsight to the fact he did let her go, even as it broke his heart, he knew she did not love him the same way and he really did just want her to be happy.
There time with the journals helped a lot, too.
OS (Onyx Storm)
This book was by far the most tolerable he has been. And I felt like everyone picked up on it in some ways. Even joking with him being annoying in a manner that felt like healing between him and Violet, and at least tolerance with Xaden... and little moments of Karma.
And I will admit I was very intrigued by Dain with Sloane because they have a good sassy banter, she keeps him in line, and I couldn't quite put a pin on what it was with him & her... until further into the book where it really started to become apparent.
A scene that got me was him allowing Sloane to hit him, he knew she needed to get it out and he took it so someone else wouldn't (in any other circumstance this would be incredibly abusive; I am purely talking fantasy fiction magic here and as I said there's more than one side to it) the other moment being him getting Sloane to siphon him by egging her on using the words he knows aren't true because he didn't care who hated him so long as Mira lived.
He also becomes better at compartmentalizing such as his list of "things to talk about later"
He's become more of a rebel time and time again and l've grown to love him and his loyalties for it even if trusting it was difficult.
Now this is where re-reads got interesting:
For one, because I’m sure his character was heavily impacted by the POV (as stripped down to its base it’s understandable on some if not more levels): —FW— he has probably spent the past year watching the friends he made there die. And while he is a different person all he knows of his past life is who they were as he’s been without contact; that is something he’s probably clinging to for comfort (& logically is all he can know of them since it’s been a year). Then, one day, that best friend (who is not built for this) and has spent their life training for the complete opposite (not to mention is a known target for half of the trained-killers there, some of which are his classmates) shows up with an order from the big sister (in both of your lives; as he knew Mira too & I’m sure she passed it along at some point) to keep her alive at a place designed to kill her. Then, she starts hanging out with the very people who want to kill her, who have already injured her, and who Dain has been told (up until this point) throughout his entire life (or whatever the time period is since the rebellion; side note on that: remember they also lived through that as children… which was probably terrifying. And to him (as well as Violet) it “got Brennan killed”. He had to lose another friend, and watch Violet live through that, and then again with Asher dying “from a broken heart” over it) by everyone he trusts are very bad people with no proof on the contrary (and no reason to go seeking it). … While we’re talking about the past lets go onto something we learn in —IF— As briefly mentioned earlier; he’s been being trained by Varrish (who is absolutely awful & there’s no way he didn’t take that out on poor Dain; and no one deserves that). Two, possibly even worse; he was raised by General Aetos (who turns out to be an absolute monster & I cannot imagine being any kind of good if not non-abusive father). & Three, once again what he did in that interrogation cell… from the moment he got there to the moment he left he only had one plan: saving Violet. I really think everything he said in that cell was to her, and not in the way she heard; the “you should’ve trusted me sooner” I don’t think it was because she betrayed him, I think it was because if he’d have known he could’ve helped avoid the past five days of hell she’d had. And while Xaden gives Violet the killing blow, Dain struck a lethal wound & was prepared to go for the kill and intended to do so. It didn’t matter what he saw in memory; what lies it “proved” (because again for credit; what he saw could’ve very easily been proof to Violets betrayal without explanation) and sure he had guilt over Liam… we see that time and time again (even after the audience & main povs stop blaming him; like I said he even goes so far as to egg it on for Sloane because he knows she won’t hurt someone, so “hurt me” he tells her as if he deserves; it which he does not). Dain is ready to die with & for the rebels, he tells Imogen behind him in —OS— because he believes they are going to burn, and he will die first, rather than letting her; he doesn’t do this because he loves her, he doesn’t do it as chivalry, he does it because he is good guy at his core. At his core he will always be the best friend we all loved and we see more of that over time.
So, while his trauma doesn’t make him a good person, I will say for all the traumatized children we compare him to; he is actually one of them. He is an equal to them all. And same goes for his choices because he is just as good and in the fight for that. He’s messed up, but he’s trying. And he is doing it without friends or support, he’s going against his father (who he’s probably terrified of and knows will die in this if he does not first). … And maybe he belongs in the inner circle of favorites, alongside the friends… I hope he is given after everything. I hope he is worthy of the respect he’s earned.
Mostly now concern exists for the post-OS world… and he better not say “I told you so” to Violet. But for some reason, I’m leaning towards thinking I don’t think he will. I think he’ll see Violets heartbreak and allow her to be heartbroken for a moment at least, and then also say some helpful (even if painful) DONT YOU DARE GO VENIN FOR HIM along with being on “Dutchess of Tyrrendor guard duty” cause NO you can’t kill her to get to Xaden (… also it’s doubtable that would work since riders have been shown to outlive their dragons in this new Venin world)...

sorry you also got the ask, it felt really weird!
Personally I think what makes that ship weaker than others (togachako, bakudeku, todo/deku, etc.) its bc they dont have development -and with that I dont mean "romantic moments", but literal development to show us how these characters impact the other so much to the point they change for them in particular. The closest to this is at the very beginning with the Deku hero name, but thats it, and still Izuku is a character who already got motivated to pursue heroism on his own before meeting her, and All Might was the biggest support for that in terms of ppl who influenced him.
We dont see them changing their goals for each other, or their perspectives in a positive light (deku as a hero was used in a moment when he was going to die if he kept that up, so that perspective wasn't a positive one for these characters), we dont see how she influenced him in any way beyond being helpful and having a parallel with All Might (him crying on his knees), and we dont see how he influenced her to be more open or trust in him, as 431 tell us she still wasn't relying on or even talking to him. They just happen to have similar ideals and goals, and are selfless and parallel All Might's saving complex, and none of their character development ties them together; we saw how actually it was harmful for Ochako, as she got distracted and needed to focus on things that actually matter to her.
We cant buy they were "yearning" for each other in canon bc they just dont. Theres nothing dramatic about their relationship, yet theres also nothing deep outside of lessons for everyone. The best strategy in my opinion was to just make them start dating in a casual way, just a cute date, or a silly confession scene, but 431 was ambiguous enough and made decisions that dont make sense for an obvious romantic conclusion (bro handhold, which feels more like a promise than a confession, kaminari and jirou's comforting friendship and denial of romance as the framework/textual clue about izuku's reaction to ochako, making them not be as close as they used to, etc.). I think a shipper could see this as a fresh start for their relationship and work with it, as them developing theirs to a point where sparks fly or something like that, but acting like this is exclusively a 100% confirmed romance, and that queer shippers specifically should "accept it", "move on" and "go read actual queer content" feels wrong, insulting. Idk, its like trying to get us into our own little weird spaces to not "pollute" the straight ones, and while I understand the ask didnt say things like that... in this day and age, its important to understand how actually harmful that mindset is.
If something bothers you in fandom, ignore it, block it, etc., but to act this way towards something so harmless -queer shippers sharing queer interpretations or preferring those over canon material, or the perceived "canon", while staying in their accounts and tags- is... like this person wanted to get these posts out of the fandom itself, or to get validation for the heterosexual perspective of the series (make the queer shippers agree with this, admit its the right one and that we are "delusional" or crazy for not believing in/liking it).
The thing with Himiko and Ochako is, while they have less screen time together, we believe this care and love; its dramatic, its deep, it changed their hearts and lives, it made them question who they truly are and their roles in society, they even shared blood... It feels tragically romantic, another version of Carmilla with Laura missing her memory, and to put them side by side with the others... They lack. Because Himiko made Ochako want and be stronger, to "fight" the way she wanted instead of blindly imitate Izuku's honestly sometimes aggressive style, to share her love language even if she didnt understand it the same way; she developed her, and genuinely loved her and did the same for her, sharing her love language, seeing her perspective, and finding peace in a world were her loved one is a great weird person and alive (izuku denying her weirdness seeing it as a bad thing VS himiko recognizing it as a positive thing... its not thet difficult to see a queer version of this). And then... theres nothing even similar with Izuku. We cant pretend what they had was deep and dramatic as we have seen what deep and dramatic is like before, and the cute moments cant be the only thing to confirm the relationship when they have a hard time talking to each other (for no actual reason other than talking to others/not noticing the other), and 431 alone made this difficult.
Some ppl back with 430 claimed they were dating bc "she had his mask", bc "they were in the snow, that means they are dating since high school", and we were supposed to hear that and agree, stop being delusional, bc its shonen, and ofc female relationships are dramatic thats just a f/f friendship, and ofc f/m relationships are underwhelming, shonen isnt about romance. Its just tiring, to always be called crazy just bc what you express to enjoy is queer.
Their relationship could have been a break for them, the calmness after experiencing loss and heartbreak, a loving and cute support needed after the traumas of a war at 16. And in canon, instead, they were close in high school, then drifted apart, and now want to talk more to each other, while Ochako sees Himiko in his place. She never confessed to other than Himiko, and Izuku isnt playing subtle romantic games as he is a lovable nerd who told her what he literally thought.
Idk, to pretend this is peak romance so all queer shippers should just get over it and accept it is laughable, specially with the angst and even horror potential of 431. Even if it was confirmed, queer shippers will still be here and love these dynamics and relationships.
If ppl want to love it its perfectly fine, but pls lets stop going around other ppl's accounts just to express how wrong they are about it all.

I know I wasn't expecting BakuDeku to be canon. I didn't care for it to be.
Shipping is meant to be something fun, whether or not the characters are together in canon.
And honestly, I feel throwing in the excuse of MHA being a "Shonen Jump" and with its demographic being "shonen" is just a poor way of saying it's not allowed or shouldn't have queer elements.
I call bullshit because there are mangas before and even after MHA that have characters implied to be or canon to be queer.
Even if they're not queer at all, there are characters who break the norm.
You folks constantly bringing up Shonen Jump and the Shonen demographics act as if there's only manly man characters and womanly woman characters.
There isn't.
So... trying to see the point??

Was it? Was it really? Because as much as people like to say they had a lot of romantic development... I don't know, they really didn't.
You would think that they would get some merchandise together a lot more. Or even like on openings and endings they would have more scenes.
But they don't, which is a shame because it is a cute ship.
Heck, unpopular opinion but I would even say the epilogue sucks for their development as a "couple" because not only they felt like afterthoughts to each other, but that handhold gave more "what's up, homie" then "I'm in love with you".
This is what bothers me about Izuku and Ochako pertaining to canon.
They are developed, but it didn't feel serious.
While they have cute scenes (I enjoy them very much), a lot of their scenes felt one-sided, played for laughs or lacked hard-core romance.
Ochako was always the one who had her feelings put out there. And even if it was serious, her feelings then are what connect her to Toga who she honestly had more chemistry with.
The final product felt more like a "cute joke".
They never really had a serious moment of having mutual feelings of romance within the main story. The epilogue just felt like "Oh, yeah, almost forgot about these two".
I'm all for shipping no matter how much content characters have, but if I was a true IzuOcha shipper I would feel some kind of way. But that's just me.
Like, honestly, it sucks that some people can't handle the fact that there are people who ship BakuDeku regardless and constantly trying to "persuade" them by bringing up IzuOcha, as if that ship also didn't have much going for them, and clearly just using that ship as a tool.
For real, if you are constantly trying to argue with BakuDeku shippers using IzuOcha, you do not like IzuOcha like that.

Revenant is soooo mid which is disappointing because I was looking forward to it due to the actors and writer (this isn’t a flop like Jirisan, which I gave up on after 2–3 episodes, but it’s not really good). BUT. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m suffering from “poor little meow meow middle-aged man” deficiency and Professor Yeom Haesang suffers so much. I can’t believe I was like “Oh...okay” about his casting because I’m planting my palms against his windows, peering at him in his little cage and being fed because he’s had the worst life ever and it keeps getting worse. HAESANG *____*<3
#why are we not talking about him more on reddit/twitter/tumblr and why are there not enough gifs and pics of him breaking down#or looking slutty in his all black ensembles complete with a turtleneck#watch as this man's life continues to deteriorate! ep. 7 and 8 provided such rich sustenance for me#a simp for ajusshideul who are miserable#he's so small and sad and he can't catch a break#yeah okay hongsae is great too and he's a cutie but LOOK AT THIS 40-YEAR-OLD MAN!#technically i wouldn't even count that as MIDDLE age middle-aged but his actor is 46 so whatever#in all seriousness revenant exasperates me a little because you can see how it can be good#especially because there's a frame of reference to base that hypothesis on: signal. lol.#signal wasn't without its flaws but the characters and relationships actually had development and the main partnerships were intense#and the tension was high throughout#revenant is the same thing every episode pretty much#the first three episodes were pretty to really good and i loved the setup#and you have kim taeri hong kyung and oh jungsae and they're great actors#but the directing and writing aren't serving them well and you can see the drop in quality from the beginning to now tbh#there's only so much they can do if they're not being given enough from both#though the little bits that are good are the reason i'm sticking around to the end lol. that and haesang i'm going to be real#like haesang and sanyoung's relationship needed to be parallel soohyun and haeyoung's in a way in terms of how much#they grow to rely on each other and care for each other but we don't really get that
