i feel like people kind of. ignore why soapmic is a good ship. because most people just see it as “oh soap’s closest friend was mic and mic’s closest friend was soap of course people ship ghem!” when its really more. soap is an important character to mic’s story. and even if soap doesn’t really have much of a story, mic still influences her in an important way.

soap was the only person who listened to microphone, and likely would’ve even played her own role in mic and taco’s dynamic if she wasn’t eliminated in the same episode they met. soap’s words about listening to your heart are important to understanding why microphone eventually gains the courage to leave taco. the girl who listened to her the most and who she trusted most, told her to listen to her heart, and while it was difficult, she was able to do it. and it felt great. even if it isn’t outright stated, soap obviously had an effect on the way mic would eventually see her and taco’s relationship and give her the courage to leave.

while soap doesn’t stay too long, she still more-or-less has some sort of arc. while i dislike how rushed and borderline inconsistent her arc is, i can still appreciate the way they ended it. the scene where soap and microphone are on the cliff, discussing listening to your heart, really shows how great they are for eachother. i don’t want to feel like i’m just re-describing the scene, but who cares. when soap first fails to make herself throw her cleaning supplies off the cliff, microphone does it for her. while soap is clearly devastated at first, after a few seconds she seems grateful. it’s not just soap carrying mic with her words, microphone also plays her own role in helping soap with her own issues.

in conclusion soap and mic are key parts of eachothers stories and make out sloppy style

But I also like payjay, nickloon, fantube, silvercandle, marshplebow, saltpep, soapmic, knickle, and comedy gold.

Ones I ship a little less: poly lights, poly slams, silverbrush, tickle, cloverbot, and tearing.

And then some rarepairs: cabbrush, knifan, microsaltpep. (And floorphone kinda) and I mildly enjoy a lot of other ships :3

But almost none of these are canon in the au!

I hate viewer voting so much.

Especially in ii.

I keep seeing things like soapmic and trophy fans and cherries fans and I just—

I just can’t see the appeal because I never got to see much of those characters.

Fan, Knife, and Microphone are my favorites because they have depth to them, and they only have that because they stayed on the show longer.

A good example is, again, Trophy. I’m guessing Trophy was voted out because he tried blackmailing Knife (heavy term, but it was over a Dora doll)

I really wish we could’ve seen more of Trophy and Knifes dynamic. Rivals in shows are always so interesting to me, they add more to the show and I’ve always loved watching them (especially joke rivalries (not saying trife is a joke rivalry))

Another example of this I could give is with Cheesy and Mic.

I’m not as fond of Cheesy and Mic as I am of Trophy and Knife, but I still wish Cheesy could’ve stayed longer.

I feel like, with viewer voting, if a character makes ONE mistake, they get voted off.

In-universe voting by the characters adds so much more to plot and helps it better develop by letting us see the UFE characters through another characters perspective.

Sure, not all shows are plot heavy, but for a show like ii, I personally think that character voting is better.

And even for sillier shows like BFDI, viewer voting ruins the relationships that the characters have with each other.

Clock and Winner, if not for Two, would’ve never resolved their issues with each other.

Clock made ONE mistake, (albeit an awfully ignorant one) and was voted out.

Obviously I understand that he made Winner uncomfortable, but it would’ve been easier for them to make up if he had just stayed on the show.

And this last one is more of a personal thing, so it doesn’t really matter,

But I also hate viewer voting because Pillow is safe EVERY SINGLE TIME.

All she’s done is sabotage her team. She’s a murderer with no redeeming qualities. Her murders do nothing but make her team lose over and over and over again. I can’t wait until she gets eliminated.

I saw someone compare Pillow to Four, saying that Four was never hated for his murders.

Im someone who likes Four and hates Pillow, plus I payed the least attention to BFB, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I think the reason I don’t hate Four is because, usually, when he kills someone, it’s in more of a satire sense and it doesn’t affect the game because he revives them right after.

When Pillow kills people, she makes her team and others lose just for the hell of it. And I personally never found it funny nor endearing.

Anyway. I’m not really a big thinker when it comes to this so. Didn’t spend lots of time on it.

okay, I have been really wanting to get this off my chest for a very long time since I joined the ii fandom and watched s2 and s3.

when watching and analysing everything, something really did not sit right with me, and that is the treatment of sapphic ships in the show. sapphic relationships in the show are treated very differently compared to gay and hetero relationship

a relationship for a hetero couple in the show can usually go like this:

the two characters, male and female meet for the first time -> they start to interact frequently and start to form a "bond" -> halfway through the series, something happens between them, causing their relationship to fall apart -> but a few episodes later, they make up, and all is well -> fanbase really likes ship -> creators make it canon

however, a relationship for a sapphic couple in the show goes a little something like this:

the two characters, both female, meet for the first time -> they start to interact frequently and start to form a "bond" -> girl 1 starts to visibly show romantic feelings towards girl 2 -> a few episodes in, girl 2 does something "toxic" or "mean" towards girl 1, and their relationship falls apart and it is like that for the rest of the show -> fanbase deems it as "toxic" -> creators don't even give the ship a second chance

or alternatively:

two characters, both female, start interacting for one or two episodes -> they seem really into one another -> they never have a single interaction ever again after that

I could go on for ages about more examples of this, there are so many sapphic relationships in the show that had so much potential

0/10 on a romantic setting.

7/10 on a platonic setting.

It's pretty much one of my discomfort ships, mostly due to how the fandom treats it as the only other alternative to an healthy Mic ship when there are far more interesting dynamics out there, both with masc and fem characters.

Although I can... get? Why people can like them? Because of aesthetic and such? I personally just think that they're really boring as a couple. Even outside of the fanon, Soap is just... a very under-developed character and it's kinda hard for me to see her in a relationship like that with Microphone, but again. I AM a very picky person when it comes to Mic ships and I haven't really seen an wlw ship that I like for Mic (since the fem characters are just very specific too I'd say).

I didn't mind them for a while but afyer bad experiences with shippers on the fandom I kinda don't want to see it at all? Although I think I just still dislike it but not as strongly as before. I don't care much about it.

I do really like their friendship though. I usually headcanon them as having a sort of sister's dynamic, but in any case their friendship is just nice and I think that's what matters.

There are far better ships out there though, but I can get it. Definitely not for me and I'm still bitter.

anywayyyy aside for my obvious love for silvercandle there are quite a few other ones i really like!! i really dont care what people ship, as long as it isnt weird. some ships i like besides silvercandle are soapmic, fantube, cabtube, silverbrush, payjay, paintjay, bickel, knickle, lucky files, uhhhhh more idk. yeahh those are the ones i can think of rn :,)
