I wish elysia was a villain so badly, i hate her with how she turned out. Also I guess technically Mei was a terrorist for a while, however they unfortunately did not expand much on that. Honestly I am beginning to see that despite how much I love and owe to KiaMei, VitaSeele is basically KiaMei if the writers actually took risks and the criticisms you have towards kiamei are reflections of your praises of vitaseele. I also noticed that your 'kiamei hate' comes across less as 'i hate kiamei' and more 'i really wish i liked kiamei but the writers refuse to take risks.'

Villain!Elysia would’ve been so good. I’ve made my peace with how Ely turned out but boy was I pissed about it at the time hahaha. Vita feels a little similar so that healed me a bit.

You are absolutely correct on my overall view of Kiamei! I tagged it as “kiamei hate” because it seemed like the generic tag kiamei enjoyers would filter out for things they don’t want to see, but I don’t actually hate them, I just wish I could enjoy it like the game wants me to. I end up missing out :T but no can do if I don’t vibe with it.

I also like Fuki a lot because they had a lot of bonding time together and strong moments, like Hua saving Kiana from suicide hello? Let them talk again Mihoyo. So it's not like they were incapable of developing a relationship as writers or anything like that.

Another Karakasa plot prediction

This time comparing the relationship between Fuki and everybody's favorite character, Tenshi – and that of Shingi and Nusu. (Yes, the color coding will matter here)

Though it requires a bit of set up. Discussions below the cut.

In the latest video, we get a lot of shots of Tenshi and Fuki performing a ceremony of sorts, passing the triangular water vessel back and forth between and pouring that water into one another's mouths with the excess running rivulets down their bodies, symbolically intermixing their presences.

In an earlier trailer, I initially mistook them to be Shingi and Nusu – Fuki's dark skin tone and Tenshi's pale skin and black manicure threw me off.

But now I think it's on purpose.

Look at the split floor colors. Red, orange, yellow – Hyper's color on the left. Fuki, who has a similar skin tone to Shingi stands here.

Purple, blues, with a touch of pink – Kusuriuri's colors on the right– where Tenshi, who is visually similar to Nusu stands.

Didn't we have discussions of how Shingi looked oddly human compared to Hyper until the red markings, representing Kusu, were emblazoned on his body?

And isn't it neat that it mirrors how strange it is that Fuki, a commoner, has somehow found herself as Tenshi's favored concubine to bed with?

Bonus shots of Fuki looking buff as heck, arguably almost as built as Shingi:

In contrast, I imagine that Tenshi, under all the voluminous robes, is quite the slight man. Doesn't that also remind you of how Nusu dresses up?

There's also some discussions in the community of how Tenshi may be dressed to the nines to exude divinity, he doesn't genuinely possess the real thing.

Fuki, who is a commoner, may be more attuned the "natural" order of things, which kind of mirrors Shingi's naturally attained divinity without needing all the bells and whistles of dress code to reinforce its presence.

Interestingly enough, I don't think we see any shots of Fuki drinking this water. It seems like something Tenshi exclusively consumes, internalizing the waters Fuki is integrated with as a woman of the ooku.

According to the lore videos, I believe it is said that during the transformation sequence, Kusuriuri's red facial markings transfer and transform into the golden sigils on Hyper's body.

According to the trivia sheet, the Yotogi no Ma is place where a lady-in-waiting pre-selected by Tenshi "entertains" him at night to produce an heir.

Note the distinct eye imagery on the Yotogi no Ma's ceiling. Also note how the room seems to be split in two palette-wise on the floor, folding screens, and lamps presumably representing the separation of masculinity and femininity - leading up to the lotus bed (representing enlightenment) where consummation takes place.

Now let's examine Nusu and Shingi's exorcism sword.

Eye imagery, check! Inherent Yin-Yang split between femininity and masculinity, check! Symbolic of enlightment (katachi, makato, kotowari), check! And hmm, it seems like the color palette somewhat matches that of the Yotogi no Ma?

During this ceremony, Tenshi and his companion are forbidden from speaking to one another.

As far as I know, when Kusuriuri and Hyper unsheath the exorcism sword, they also do not exchange words, much less make contact, save for a few indirect interactions.

Indirect interactions such as passing the exorcism sword between one another.

It is quite similar to Fuki and Tenshi passing the triangular cup between each other.

In conclusion, I believe Nusu and Shingi's transformation sequence will likely mirror the visuals of Fuki and Tenshi's "ceremony".

And they will almost certainly fuck like rabbits after the exorcism is done.

An Analysis on Takina and Chisato and their relationship

Takina

She is a girl who don't grow in a place where she learned how to express (or understand) her feelings, the only thing that matters is the mission and her feelings and thoughts don't have place in the plans. However, contrasting with this way of being raised, she have a mentality of 'going to do the most practical and efficient thing possible at the moment', therefore she tends to disobey the orders from her superiors, wich leads to her being removed from the organization. She knows no other way to live than working hard to move up the ranks in the organization, not realizing that often what the organization wants doesn't align with what she wants.

Takina's main character arc is about freedom and how she discovers that the way for her to live a fuller life is not by being more recognized or being the team leader, but simply following what she thinks is right and doing the things that make her happy with the people that make her happy.

Chisato

Oh boy, where do I start? Well, Chisato's character arc is also centered on freedom, the difference between her and Takina is that Chisato already understands that what she wants is not the same as what the organization wants. Her struggle is not to find freedom, but to get there. She is not left alone as she is the most talented Lycoris and one of Alan's children. So she does what she can to preserve that little freedom she has for the time she has left (which she knows is short, so she has to make the most of it).

She was raised by the same organization as Takina and the other girls, so why doesn't she act like Fuki or even Takina in the first few eps?

It's because she know how life may be ephemeral, it was literally thrown in her face from a young age. 'You'll only get to the beginning of your adult life, your heart won't take it after that', that kind of perspective of life changes a person, especially in this case that supposedly the reason she was saved was to fulfill missions that might involve the thing she hates the most, taking lives.

So how do they interfere with each other's arc?

Takina has the freedom Chisato wishes she could have and Chisato has the skills and recognition Takina craves. They balance each other out, when Takina was very focused on the quests and in regaining her place as Lycoris Chisato showed her how to have fun and how to be comfortable with herself and her own needs. For Chisato, she never lets anyone get too close, she's communicative and outgoing, but keeps everyone at arm's length (probably because she doesn't want to cause pain when she's gone). Takina changes that, she enters Chisato's life and suddenly she has this girl who is now her partner, but she has no idea how to act like a normal teenager or value the time she has, so since Chisato helps people, obviously she's going to help this girl see the beauty in life, what can go wrong?

Well, the girl gets better and starts acting like someone her own age and following her own desires, however now Chisato has become attached to said girl.

Chisato couldn't keep distance from Takina and now she has to deal with telling her that she is close to death. Takina doesn't take it well, as we can see in ep.

Here's the thing, towards the end of the anime they both do something that goes against everything the character was in the beginning. Chisato was willing to hurt and even kill one of the people she most admired by Takina. She never wanted to kill even her enemies, let alone the man who helped save her life? Here we have Chisato's most emotional moment, she is not willing to kill for her own life, but is willing to kill for Takina. Minutes later we have the biggest show of emotion from Takina, she wants to kill the man who is taking what can save Chisato. Chisato doesn't want her to kill him, saying she couldn't live if his life were taken for that. Takina from the beginning of the anime would never do that, would never consider Chisato's will if the most logical decision was to kill, would never let go that blood-curdling scream when she failed. What happened?

Chisato happened.

They changed, improved, they balance, they complete each other.

Another iconic piece from Aikaryu, probably their best, imo, that still makes me wish their van never crashed (but then again, if that didn't happen, maybe Teru and Hizaki wouldn't have started working together, and they do riff well together aaah...)

Susume! Pirates was on the mini-album 海賊盤~Aye.藍.sir~ (kaizokuban~aye. ai. sir~ more puns from our buddy aikaryu uhuhuh), released in 2004.

HIZAKI - Ritual (featuring fu-ki from BLOOD)

... Well Hizaki was also Hizaki before versailles, I suppose. His solo career is pretty solid, though ! I was already vaguely aware of BLOOD at the time, and this song convinced me to look further into it :)

This version of Ritual was on Maiden†Ritual, released in 2004 (it was somewhat self-covered under HIZAKI grace project and sung by Juka a few years later, but Juka's falsetto is so bad you might as well stick to the fuki version ahahhaah)

LAREINE - Scarlet Majesty

Lareine being one of Kamijo's bands before versailles, if I even needed to introduce him...

Now this was one of the first Lareine song I heard, I don't remember what was the very first, but this one was the one that made me love Lareine :3 And it's another one of these songs I didn't realized was so new, at the time... (but also, in my head, somehow, lareine disbanded in 2001 LOL)

Scarlet Majesty was a single released in 2003.

Malice Mizer - au revoir

The thing is, I thought that malice would suit the mood better than m10m (but then again here's Schwarz Stein at the end lmao), especially right after Lareine, AND once you've heard one m10m song, you've pretty much heard it all (there's one in the 1st post of the series ;) ), BUT that statement isn't true about Malice. I've done Klaha era, now here's Gackt lolz. (also Juka wouldn't be Juka without a good Gackt base, so eh...) (also, also : i'm pretty sure that at least Közi showed up to a node of scherzo event, back then, iirc)

Also, ngl, I chose between this, Le Ciel, and Bel Air, and I'm not sure how I elected au revoir... It might just be that Mana's flower costume is my fave of all time ♥

Au revoir was a single released in 1997.

Schwarz Stein - Rise to Heaven

Schwarz Stein being Kaya's band bef... WELL. They were active from 2001 to 2004, and have been semi active since 2011. Kaya started his solo career in the meantime, partaking in several side projects, including Node of Scherzo. (And Hora spent his time buying shoes and living (?) in Hawaii, I guess...)

IT'S THE FIRST SCHWARZ STEIN SONG I EVER HEARD !!! At the time, this, queen of decadence and fester love was all I could find on lime wire lol. And it stayed like that until a parental unit gifted me a legit copy of New Vogue Children (there were a lot of "miya records" copies circling on ebay, back then). So anyway, I heard that and I fell in love and it's been 20 years and counting :D

Rise to Heaven was on the album New Vogue Children, released in 2003

Node of Scherzo, featuring Teru, Hizaki, Juka, Kamijo, and Kaya here, and among others

Node of Scherzo was a series of concert put up together by versailles, Kaya, and Juka, in 2007. They basically created a musical based on beauty (lol) involving a love triangle and songs from Versailles, Hizaki grace project, and Kaya's solo career. After the released of Carmilla, it became a vampire story as well.

NoS also paved the way for the monstrosity that is JVM Roses Blood Symphony lol
