I've decided to call this the MoonSol Au because there's actually no possible way for the Erin's to do this so yeah. It was just one of the silly little brainstorms I like doing where I grab at the most vague of strings and try and tie some sort of au together, I've not really taken it too serious it's literally me that I can't take seriously please help me.

I've thought of some more little titbits if anyone's interested

-Tawnypelt and Leafstar have shared custody of Moonpaw Buddy Daddy style. It's not actually clear whether they're queercoded or they're just two random old women adopting a child together. Moonpaw keeps queerbaiting everyone with them because she wants people to know she's an ally.

-Moonpaw hates her parents, not because they are ginger but because they are cousins.

-the ideal Moonpaw personality in this Au is that she's stupid in an endearing way. She's reckless, impulsive and naive who genuinely means well but lacks the forward thinking skills to stick the landing. Maybe she's a bit of a hothead too.

-Moonpaw is the one poisoning the Moonpool on Sol's behalf. Like half way through the arc something happens that puts her in a bit of a funk and she embraces that she was Sol in a past life. She's angry hurt and confused. Angry tears Erin's we need angry tears!!! Tawny and Leaf are heartbroken to see what their happy little daughter has become.

-The new territory will be in Cleveland

-Moonpaw (like Hollypaw before her) mistakes Sol as being a lion and thinks that means she's special maybe??? Idk I heard Ivypool might be going to the zoo in her special edition so maybe I can tie it in there somehow. Moonpaw also has never heard of Sol before and Sol is building up a false narrative about himself to her obviously.

-Midnight the badger makes an appearance and she is in possession of a gun.

Saw the word queerbait mentioned in link click context, and I think it is important to remember, that there is also the concept of queercoding.

And i am confident in saying lc is the latter.

There are just so many things that are too odd to not be deliberate. And the most recent one that comes to my mind after watching Yingdu ep1.

Lu Guang is moving in with Cheng Xiaoshi and his box with summer clothes got lost in the process. Solution to this: "yeah, he can have my clothes".

Why. What is the point of that? That whole scene is pointless. Everyone assumed the cat hat was a gift from Cheng Xiaoshi, but no, the whole outfit is actually his. This is a deliberate choice and I really don't know what the purpose behind that could be.

(Don't say "he had to find the letter", he could've found that by stacking Lu Guang's clothes up there just as well. But they went the clothes sharing route. Why.)

Ernest Thesiger—who could forget him camping up the screen as doctor pretorius in bride of frankenstein??? a few years before that legendary role he also appeared as the haughty horace femm in the old dark house, creating another memorable weirdo in another witty horror classic from his friend james whale. thesiger was a seasoned theater actor renowned for his comic abilities who moved in many literary and artistic circles, where he was a notorious eccentric and wit and is said to have made no particular secret of his queerness, and his friends included george bernard shaw, john sargent sargent, somerset maugham, radclyffe hall, and ivy compton-burnett, several of whom based fictional characters on him or wrote parts specifically for him (also if anyone here happens to know the gormenghast books, mervyn peake loosely based doctor prunesquallor on him). when he wasn't acting he occupied himself with many artistic endeavors and was particularly expert at petit point embroidery, exhibiting his work internationally and publishing a book on embroidery; he was also skilled at painting, knitting, crochet, lacelace-making, beadwork, costume and jewelry design, and probably more. his screen appearances are always delightful and i just can't imagine a world where we didn't have his signature flamboyant, comic, and menacing gaunt weirdos enriching cinema (supposedly the studio wanted claude rains for pretorius which would have been a wildly different vibe), so give it up for my man ernest.

Her doleful eyes, fretful handwringing and quavery voice brought interest to what might otherwise have been forgettable supporting roles, often as flighty spinster types, and it's that wonderfully cartoonish voice and pathetic demeanour that give her true scrungle quality.

He's the OG queercoded villain to me. He often plays mad scientists or morally dubious eccentrics, so he's got the perfect scrungly combo of being physically non-intimidating and arch yet vaguely threatening in his presentation and behaviour. He is extremely camp.

Final Doctor Who TV Movie Thoughts

incredibly homosexual undercurrents. why’s the master Like That. they had to be doing that on purpose. i mean, just the robes alone. he dresses for the occasion. oh there’s definitely queercoding here. also he got tardis vored. nuwho bring up that time he got tardis vored challenge. no im not being weird about it i just want him to describe to the doctor what being digested by a time machine was like. did he enjoy it. wait come back i have more things to say about the movie-

eight is a sopping wet cat. i understand why he is beloved. i too wish to wrap him in a warm towel and/or beat him with hammers. he’s adorable. he’s fun. once again, somehow they managed to find a perfect guy to cast as the doctor. how do they do that. not a single miss so far??? out of the seven i’ve met??? not one????? incredible. loved his little vest, loved his humming, loved how he had absolutely zero chill ever and did not know how to Not talk about being a freak alien man, loved that he had amnesia for all of like seven minutes for no reason.

i really liked grace and lee. grace is a great straight man to the doctor’s bouncy nonsense, and she saved the day by figuring out the tardis :D also swerved the bullet of loving that man, thank GOD. get out of there girl. you saw what his ex was like. lee is my favorite kind of doctor who character, of which right now the category is him and lucy saxon. the master’s temp companions <3 love when that awful terrible man has to play nice to achieve his goals. love when he has to bond with people against his will. also hilarious to me that lee was just like ‘no, i really am just in this cause he’s gonna give me money and power.’ and the movie says he is RIGHT to want this, just wrong for trusting the master to give it to him, so he gets it in the end. good for him. direct action.

the plot was bonkers nonsense and that made it better. so funny to me that they retconned in the doctor being half-human but it never comes up as plot relevant ever and it will never be mentioned again. the eye of harmony is <3 bless <3 so fucking stupid <3 whys it take a human to open it. why can you open it when all it seems to do is suck up planets and time lord lives. why do they even have that lever. there’s like a horrifying implication here that time lords would keep a human onboard just so that they’d have a way to open their tardis’s eye of harmony. same energy as having a canary for your coal mine. i know this wasn’t intentional but it’s just fucked up enough that i almost want it to be canon despite it being so stupid, if only because it adds another layer to the doctor mostly seeming to gravitate towards human companions. but probably best if, like a lot of things this movie decides should be canon, we ignore it.

we shouldn’t ignore the master being able to goop people with his spit though. that’s hilarious. i wanna see them bring that back in modern who. look, any master would do BUT. i feel like for the best effect we gotta bring mr simm back so he can spit goop on people like a feral beast. here’s how saxteen can still win-

what else. what else. guys. that’s a really fun movie. it was Not good. but it was amazing. you get me? i had a great time. structurally it was a mess, the story was in shambles, but i do not care. all the characters were fun, the eighth doctor is fantastic, and i loved it. its probably gonna be a comfort movie of mine from now on. its just so silly.

My take on the prologue discourse is- Taylor is asking to just stop all relationship speculation. Not saying she disliked the speculation for one gender more than another but that ALL relationship speculation makes her uncomfortable.

I understand where she's coming from, she doesn't have any privacy and relationships can be difficult to navigate for non-famous people without onlookers analyzing every step, every date, every word.

I guess I struggle a little with the line she's drawing of no muse speculation for songs but writes so many love songs and has withdrawn from the public eye everything except her very very public 'relationship' (in quotes bc she hasn't defined it as such herself).

Her fans are interested in her, and knowing about her but the crumbs of her life she has left us recently have mostly been romantic relationship related, which leads to convos about her romantic relationships which she doesn't want! I don't think she cares to hear any of us tell her what she should be doing, and nor would I, if I were in her shoes. But I do feel that maybe if she were more public with her cats, or her hobbies outside of songwriting, or anything in addition to or besides romantic relationships, then conversations had between fans about her would shift to those topics away from discussing her romantic endeavors!

My final thoughts:

She's made it clear she wants no muse speculation, and specifically no creepy analysis of pap pictures or timelines with those muses finding lyrics relating to them. But lyrical analysis is still on the table, and I think queer (or non-queer) interpretation of her writing is also still okay. Finding parallels between different songs or albums and potential inspiration from other people's bodies of work is also okay for discussion. This leaves A TON that she is still okay with people discussing. Shes setting a boundary here and it's a totally reasonable boundary that still leaves a lot for us to talk about while making sure she's comfortable.

I saw one or two different posts from people expressing discomfort with lover being extremely queercoded yet she is not allowing queer speculation which would be really disgusting to have a queer album but not be queer herself. I think that take jumps the gun- she's not saying she's straight in the prologue! And we cannot demand a 'coming out' from her to 'allow' her to have a queer album. That's an unacceptable standard. She simply wants the extremely detailed and creepy following of her relationships and muses to stop.

Currently my hyperfixation is The Mandela Catalogue and you can blame @that-one-cat-alternate.

I love it because there is a lot of mystery involved, and almost every detail can be analysed. I was up til 1 last night theorising with F. I love almost all the characters, (they're all queercoded as fuck) and then there is ome specific character, who as F puts it "I want to wrap in a blanket like a burrito, then beat him brutally with a lead pipe." There's also a lot of references to Christianity, and theorising is so fun with a Christian background- previously I was addicted to Good Omens, so maybe that says something. It's kind of difficult to explain what tmc is about, but it has me in a chokehold.

yayayayayy good morning !! howre youuu also yes the blonde is the monster lol they're from a manga called hikaru ga shinda natsu (the summer hikaru died) and it's like. a small town horror story that is HEAVILY queercoded (it used to be literally tagged as BL but the author changed their mind sigh.) anyway it's about hikaru (blond) and yoshiki (black hair) who're teenagers who live in this tiny town in japan and hikaru goes missing in the mountains for like a week and when he comes back he comes back wrong,, and only his best friend (yoshiki) can tell. cause it's little things, like he'll pronounce a word wrong or smth. so yoshiki confronts him and "hikaru" (putting the monster in quotes to distinguish between him and the guy who went missing) is like "uhhh yeah please don't tell anyone i don't wanna kill you" and yoshiki's like "uhhh well. whatever." cause basically the real hikaru is gone but yoshiki is the only one who knows and he's like 'i;d rather have this thing by my side than be all alone' and also "hikaru" straight up tells yoshiki he likes him. which kills me because "hikaru" has the same feelings/memories as hikaru. basically what happened was that hikaru went into the mountains to perform some kind of ritual(?) the men in his family have always done to atone for smth that happened centuries ago when they accidentally almost wiped out the population of the town (long story) and this mf tripped and fell and died because he got distracted cause he saw a tree that looked like a woman with a huge rack. lol. anyway "hikaru" found hikaru and sorta took over his body,,, and "hikaru" actually likes being human and he likes yoshiki. and also "hikaru" doesn't even know what he is. like he doesn't know if he's a ghoul or a god or a ghost or wtv. and like "hikaru" is sooo normal all the time you forget that he's actually a monster until something happens and he like. kills some old lady or attacks a friend or smth and it's sooo jarring. also yoshiki is implied to like hikaru. but it's unclear whether hikaru liked him. "hikaru" however? mans is literally yoshiki's dog. like yoshiki literally tries to kill him at some point and "hikaru"'s like 'fair. also do you want half of my literal insides.' and hikaru actually asked "hikaru" to keep yoshiki company when he was dying. and yoshiki is mostly glad to have "hikaru" by his side but also. how are you gonna get over your dead best friend who you have a crush on when their corpse is literally still walking around and talking to you and killing old ladies. and grrr i just love them i love them so much. "hikaru" is the golden retriever who is a literal bodysnatching monster and yoshiki is the black cat who just cannot catch a break. also there's like a lot of fucked up stuff in the town's history. also we do not know whether "hikaru"'s feelings for yoshiki are real or just remnants of hikaru's feelings and it's killing me omg. idk if we'll ever find out cause the author has been backpedaling on the gay stuff but. yeah i've only read the first 4 volumes cause those are the only ones that are available here the rest isn't translated yet. also they're getting an anime yippeee sorry for the rant i just. i loev them sm
