To Comfort The Moon

A lil doodly comfort crumb from this AU. I swear it's more lighthearted than this! ....Mostly, anyway.

Usually, comments like that slide right over Moon, it doesn't really bother him, that day was just a bad one, and the kids weren't feeling as nice as they usually do. It happens. And they know they have each other to just be there! They're not alone.

Most of the Daycare space is canon compliant, with a few extras just because; in this case, Moon's Nap Corner! While most kids prefer being outside of the little nook, some feel safer inside, which is why it exists :)

I was debating whether to add the other important guys in this comic, but decided that this moment happened prior to their intro, or there are plot related reasons they're not here! It doesn't really matter... ^^'

Under the cut is the comic without dialogue! I feel like it's still understandable without it, and I kinda prefer it anyway, so I decided to post! Anyways, see you when I actually introduce the others correctly! (Aka post their refs) :>

I don’t know how I managed to do this in a day.  Like.  I think I pumped this out on pure adrenaline

But again.  If ur at the caption ya probably say the PSA spoiler wall that says that this comic contains spoilers for the Limited Life SMP finale.  Well and I’m tagging this as spoilers so it’d be evident anyways lol.  So I won’t write my spiel about go watch the end of Limited Life and I’ll just say oh my god what a finale it was absolutely epic.  I loved every moment of it.

But yeah.  I sketched this out as one of those “ahh silly goofy doodly sketchy sketchbook comics when I’m spewing a thought into my sketchbook” and then.  My impulsiveness (there’s a pun there.  Is it intentional?  That’s for you to decide) won in the end and this exists now.  It’s not the best quality of anything I’ve ever made but gosh darnit it was so much fun to make.  So so much fun.

But yeah.  Limited Life was absolutely amazing from start to finish and every POV was awesome (but if ya can’t tell team TIES is gonna live in my head rent free for a while lol)

Remember when I said that I get distracted by inspiration? Oops have a BNHA FS AU. Don't take this too seriously. I use clip studio paint, and it has a ready speech bubble tool which is useful!

It creates speech bubble layers – sometimes i flatten them into drawing layers to change their shape - like cutting them out of frames

Sometimes I do just draw bubbles myself tho

how do you render your art? like you make it feel doodly but clean at the same time

Thank you! I like to think my art style is an organized mess! It's cause I've leaned more to a certain digital painting style where I don't have to rely on making clean lineart as I can just render it all instantly. Here's my work progress:

I use a marker brush on Firealpaca (One of the drawing programs I use, the other being medibang for the comic), it's on a soft pen pressure setting 0.20 (soft) and with opacity by pressure on so it has a soft feel along with no sharp edges so that I can focus on anatomy structure calmly.

The lineart process is simple, not wanting to go overboard besides drawing the important stuff. The imperfections can be altered later.

Then, I color it. A base layer is really for the main colors, if I wanna put shading then I separate each color by clipping layers so I can shade them individually but for this example, I won't dive too deep into it besides that I don't use any watercolor brushes besides- well, Dp-flat is like a watercolor brush/blending brush but it has a strong texture that I like. I prefer to shade manually with airbrush, dp-flat brush, and a makrer brush (opacity on).

And we got rendering!!! I Spend a lot on rendering as it's fun- especially for smaller pieces! I often use a marker brush but with a different pen pressure (normal, 1.00) so it has a sort of sharper end so I can also add faint brush strokes/lineart to give it a solid look. I use the color picker a lot to overpaint some specific lines and colors while also using the brush as an eraser to shape/sculpt the form!

I've got more examples for my more finished works to show how noticeable the results are regarding how I render! I like to experiment from time to time

Yes, it's been a long while, PhD left me really really tired and I'm slooowly but surely regaining my love for drawing and make comics.

Aside from Bram & Vlad, which is the main thing I would post in English for almost ten years, my main things recently have been my new comic (I'm not kidding when I say I've taking it SLOW), Victoria Harvey's Chrisopoeia (I'm translating it to English, will likely post it here and on tapas, where the pt-br version currently is) and the first book I published, Noturno em Sol Maior (Nocturne in Sol Major).

After afew years of not wanting very much to draw, I'm in a doodly mood again, expect a few here and there.

How have y'all been doing?

(No, I'm not posting again on tumblr because Musk's stupidly broke a Brazilian law and was forced to shut his services down here, amazingly enough. My last relevant twitter post was in 2021 or 2022 tops, because it started to feel that it was just me throwing posts at the abyss, and what was staring back was actually marketing bots.)

- Durge/Tav painting astarion in gold, and feeding him blood in a hedonism date night. he thinks the gold paint is just for tav. But he keeps saying "i just want you to see yourself as i see you." And stuch things.

He leads him to a giant ass mirror and lo and behold, there he is. In the flesh. The colors arent there of course. Hes looks like a statue, but its still...its more than the statue, its more than a portrait.

-comic: Astarion is walking with the gang. He looks up to see something and narrows his eyes. He suddenly bursts into bats, flies up onto the space he was trying to peer at and reappears in a panic. Somethin like....

"I was eight bats...how...fuck...gods how am i supposed to even process that!?

"I WAS IN EIGHT FUCKING PLACES AT ONCE TAV I AM NOT ALRIGHT"

-comic- Volothamp talking to tav about a rat exodus from "a mysterious "red castle" " where their bretheren kept going missing. So they gave up the territory and moved to a "red cave" just beneath it, where blood flows even more freely.

Astsrion recognizes the palace, and remembers a time where rats were in such short supply that cazador had simply switched to insects for a while. Well with astarion he had, the rest had been treated to cats and dogs, in order to lessen the threat against the local rat population. Durge in the meantime, has an odd memory about commanding rats to find reconnisance if they wish to find safety with (fuzzy writing that doesnt quite translate to words)

-Astarions ascension but its happy with evil hugs.

-Durge reacting to the gnoll birth holy hells that was funny.

-Durge eviscerating astarion while he arches off the ground as if in ecstacy rather than pain. Theyre both laughing in wild, crying hysterics and theres those timasks spores everywhere.

-Comic: A -Astarion in the mirror frowning and looking distressed, even a little pissed in a mini panel, as he pinches a small amount of belly fat. Hes a very healthy weight but like 200 years o trauma dawg. Next pannel he looks thoughtful (considering that hes never had enough to eat before to warrant gaining rather than steadily losing weight), third panel he looks up in a catlike manner and fingertip taps his stomach near his hip. Very silly smug cat face meme feels here

-Chaste kiss canon durgestarion/tash vs nasty canon durgestarion/tash

-Comic of vellioth uncovering mummystarion from crypt.

-Comic of astarion fucking posessed n bound durge in the shar library.

-An archer in general doing leg archery. Maybe two goofballs doin it at each other with silly faces. I can see any combo of minsc and lazel and astarion doing this weirdly enough.

-spit/ blood exchange between s/a astarions.

-That moment when astarion is blissed out in the sauce under durge in the grove. Maybe a pov where theres drops of blood mid fall, and theres two hands smearing it all over his chest.

-A astarion sitting on bhaals altar while durge and gortash dogfight.

-Gortash with his hand inside a lasceration in durges belly, squeezing himself off all slowlike inside durge. bloody handprints everywhere, though some have turned to black sooted handprints. Theyre kissing all disgustin

1. Agnes + Mary flesh prison - I started this one April 4th (I checked) and honestly has been in wip city for such a long time you MIGHT be inclined to think I've abandoned it but I really haven't because I want to render all that stupid flesh stuff sooo bad I just get sidetracked everytime I blink

2. Mary moment - From somewhere in July, I did the sketch (+ a second one for a companion drawing) on paper and only decided to start coloring recently and I reaaallly need to figure it out but we move

3. R1999 fav. character meme - Sometime this month (all drawings from here on out are from August LOL) I found a fave character template and it sounded funnnn so I just need to color them in. ehe

4. Idiot comic thingy - Least likely to be finished I just think Domi looks cute here sorry. He's a regular at the library that Lulu helps out at and he's friends with the librarian. She recommends him supernatural romance books LOL he's ruining his own tough guy personality >:(

5. Proseka fav. character color wheel - I like to play and draw :3 one fav chara per color of course

6. Agnes doodly thing - I did a sketch for this one in class with a bunch of stuff flying out of his head and it's fun but also just a way for me to scribble almost mindlessly 😭

7. Paula + Alice moment - I just think they're neat... and also I want to try a dif. coloring method LOLL

8. Agnes + Mary thing - I've chosen to refer to this one as Fluster Him Friday even tho I'm not sure what day I initially drew it but once again just having fun with different ways of drawing :3
