2024 art summary! Wow what a year. Some very bad stuff happened BUT I've met so many new friends (and started sharing my work with older ones) who encourage me to continue improving <3 Thank you so much for your support, I look forward to another year of drawing my silly characters!!

This is actually somewhat unclear.

The official story that was given to the rest of the Institute in the immediate aftermath is that between 3 & 4am on the day in question, Alice 1.0 (Susan) was walking the hallways alone and had an encounter with a malfunctioning security synth that fatally shot her while she was trying to get the situation under control.

However, this story has a lot of holes. It's unlikely that she could have died in a struggle in that particular location without anyone hearing, even at that hour, and there's evidence to suggest that she died elsewhere and was moved. Robotics was also rushed through their investigation into the alleged malfunction, and ultimately was unable to isolate or replicate it. The gen 3 that found the body was later decommissioned for allegedly unrelated reasons. Etc etc.

Kellogg claims that he saw Susan's body after the fact and the wounds did not match the official cause of death, but his report can't be totally trusted, it's possible that he was trying to rile Alice up, fuck with Shaun, or that he genuinely misunderstood what he saw. On top of this: Susan was also noted by several people to have been acting strangely in the days leading up to her death, and was heard arguing with Shaun very intensely on several occasions.

Shaun also tells Alice at some point in the late game that he's "responsible" for Susan's death, but in context its genuinely unclear if he's saying he killed her (possibly accidentally?) or had her killed or if she was doing something she wasn't supposed to and actually got shot by security and he just blames himself for it. Alice just never gets a clear answer on this, and by the end of the game anyone who could tell her the truth is very, very dead.
