The gays outnumber the straights in the old guard because irl gay friend groups always have to have one or two token straights. Also gays are statistically more likely to become immortal because they're just that powerful

tag game ✨
@mbjw saved me from saturday boredom and tagged me in this, so thank you jubs, i enjoyed these a lot.
1. why did you choose your url?
i love khaotung. khaotung was obsessed with the capybara song last year before i even knew who he was. capybaras happen to be a very common animal in the region i live. i was very happy they were getting the recognition they deserved. put them together, we have lovely khao + capybaras = khaopybara (i'm also super sure i've seen people here and on tw use this and i just stole it. i'm not creative especially when it comes to usernames).
2. any sideblogs? if you have them name them and why you have them.
i have two other sideblogs. @tuseryoo for all of the gifs i make so i can have all of them in one blog just because, so i feel like i'm not losing track of the things i create (even though i haven't updated that one in a while), and @captain-xandis that some moots might have noticed in their notifications bc i recently created that one to post gifs about critical role, but i always forget to check which blog appears on top of the thingy, so i'm constantly deleting and reblogging things in the right blog these days.
3. how long have you been on tumblr?
as of july 3rd, i've been here for 11 years now, so since 2013? which tracks with my super strong k-pop phase tbh.
4. do you have a queue tag?
nah, i have a queue going for gifs that are requests or for episodes that already aired, but usually i just post things whenever.
5. why did you start your blog in the first place?
ha, i was into super junior. and i was experimenting with fandom for the first time at the time. that's it. i felt like tumblr was a lot more creative and pretty than twitter or facebook, so i stayed.
6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?
i am a mook defender and apologist. i also think aya is super cute and super pretty. i change icons so often though, i blame all the pretty women in qls these days for making me change it all the time.
7. why did you choose your header?
i am breathing and living for the heart killers and kantbison and unfortunately i'm dying from lack of content. the tattoo table kiss is going to change lives i think, so until we don't get the official version, i'll have this masterpiece displayed there somehow.
8. what’s your post with the most notes?
as of now, it's a 23.5 official trailer gifset of sun being jealous of ongsa with amazing 939 notes, but the gifset of lada protecting earn from hitting her head on the table is quickly catching up with 877.
9. how many mutuals do you have?
17 mutuals? i think that's right.
10. how many followers do you have?
843 if you count the main blog + side-blogs.
11. how many people do you follow?
... 27 blogs.
12. have you ever made a shitpost?
i mean, sure? i do get embarrassed by my own shitposts sometimes and i delete them tho.
13. how often do you use tumblr each day?
all the time. it's my favorite social media for sure. i get to see pretty things and my dash is much better curated than other apps. it's great.
14. did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
i don't think i ever fought online. i block people with remarkable expedience tbh if i don't like their vibe or their tone or the shit they post, and i also make use of the filtered tags, so you know, no reason to fight.
15. how do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts
these exist? good for them. you shouldn't tell people what to do.
16. do you like tag games?
sure! i only started being part of them now, so sometimes i forget them, or i just don't see i was tagged, but i do enjoy them.
17. do you like ask games?
i don't think i've ever done an ask game but that's mainly bc i think people won't want to know and won't send any asks, and i'd rather spare my ego from that humiliation.
18. which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
i think many of my mutuals are famous in our ql bubble which makes it a little crazy that some are my mutuals tbh. that's most of them actually.
19. do you have a crush on a mutual?
i do have people that make me kick my feet when they interact with my posts like, twirling my hair, silly smile, giggling because they've noticed me. but actually crushing, imagining our lives in the countryside, with a kitchen facing the meadow in a fine spring morning, with two dogs and three cats, no.
20. tags?
i'm tagging @namtanfilm, @aylinaliens, @sollucets and @sherrymagic, @ayansukkhaphisit and whoever feels like doing it, and to those i've tagged, just ignore this if you want, too, no pressure.

💔💛🖤 for FMA because you're always correct somehow
💔: If you had to remove one major character from the series, who would you choose?
i cant just say roy mustang a fourth time im challenging myself to come up with a creative answer
honestly? and if you can believe it mostly unrelated to the third question down there. i think if you took out hughes, and had to reframe the military protagonists' motivations to make them less reliant on "we need to avenge this one guy we liked", youd have room to explore more of the actual bad things about the amestrian government. that might lead people to want to rebel. like at least the nina chapter provided insight into why the state alchemist program is inherently corrupt, all we learn from hughes dying is "Breaking News! One Weird Geometry Fact The Homunculi Dont Want You To Know About"
youd have to restructure the maria ross parts too but i figure you could work something out without too much trouble. blame her for lab 5 going down or something idk
💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?
takes a deep breath. This may come as a betrayal to almost all of my devils nest mutuals. it may break my streak of always being correct in the eyes of the masses. but i dont........really see what everyone else sees......... in greed/dolcetto.........
"wow big shocker from captain grido" i hear everyone saying but llet me explain myself. i can rationalize why somebody might like it. and its not even the ship itself i have beef with really. its more, the widespread fandom elevation of dolcetto as Greeds Loyalest Guy, with mainly vibes-based justifications (hes a dooooooog!!!!) instead of textual evidence, that tends to accompany it? which to be fair exists outside of a shipping context as well. like on tv tropes for example
Tumblr media
[CITATION NEEDED]
so. My bido loving soul naturally despairs. also the fact that it seems to have achieved almost default status in the fandom spheres im most interested in, so when you go looking for nest related stuff it crops up before long and you know how it goes with overexposure
my final reason is that i do love dolcetto as a character. That guy rules. which means it does me psychic damage to see his personality replaced with that of a shy blushing puppyboy, as he so often is in the ancient fanart i find combing the google search results,
🖤: Which character is not as morally good as everyone else seems to think?
As Per My Last Email: hughes lol
like i know in series hes meant to be a heroic figure but thats kind of my problem. hes just your average nuclear family loving gun toting red blooded american i mean amestrian, who joined the army to defend his definitely-under-attack right to have said nuclear family, and then started dating a girl while he was on the front lines and then used her as an internal justification to keep committing genocide, and then when he has a kid he threatens her (3 YEAR OLD) friends with a gun, and one of his Bonding Moments with winry is giving her a lecture on gender roles because dont you know men never talk about their feelings, and do you see why i thinkmaybe tje fact that he buys his daughter a lot of toys and waves around pictures of his family doesnt inherently make him the best dad on earth. like its really easy to be a good dad when your kid is a toddler and your wife does all the hard work taking care of her and all you have to do is bring home the paycheck. wild beasts are xoming to attack me once hit post on this one i think

It Could Only Ever be Rinharu
Author’s Entry Angle
As of May of 2023, the Makoharu v. Rinharu debate is alive and well, albeit on a much smaller scale than in years prior. I’ve been on team Rinharu for almost a decade now. The earliest I expressed (purely personal) written support for them was back in late October 2014 and my first fanart of them (never shared publicly) was finished in early November of that year. Since then, my writing and art have improved dramatically, but my feelings about Rin and Haru have largely remained the same. Equally, the debate hasn’t changed that much either—at least from those outspoken about their dislike of the other side. Indeed, some variation of the word “toxic” has at one point or another been used to describe both pairings, with fans caricaturing the other side as being overly emotional and/or delusional when faced with content of the pairing they don’t like. It’s honestly quite funny to read!
For me, shipping has been a cheeky exercise in empathy and introspection about relationships more broadly. Rinharu is kind of like a first love. Not only were they the first coupling I would defend with my dying breath, but they were invaluable in contouring my understanding of romantic love in all its absurdities. Undoubtedly, my own experiences (limited as they are) and personality colour my preference, and I’ve spent the last 10 years trying to articulate what I love about these goobers so damn much. What does being a Rinharu truther say about me, if anything at all? I would like to explain my Rinharu-or-bust rationale precisely because this has been such a polarizing debate in the fandom. What is obvious to me is not obvious to others—there would be no debate if that were the case. After all this time, I don’t hate people who ship Makoharu. They have poor taste, of course, but that isn’t worth hating someone over. Heh, just kidding! I’m being an ass on purpose because it’s just so easy!
Being that Free! has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, I understand that people have had a long time to formulate their opinions and dig their heels in either way. I don’t believe engaging in debate will change people’s minds, and that isn’t what I’m trying to do here anyway. This is purely for fun! Additionally, while I’m still relatively new to posting on social media, I’m pretty sure it’s too late to respond directly to some of the points I mention below. Moreover, I don’t want to impose myself onto other people’s conversations—even though they’re public and some are overtly anti-Rinharu and antagonistic towards its supporters. These folks are ultimately entitled to their wrong opinions.
If you decide to indulge me and give my thoughts a read, I offer these disclaimers: I fully appreciate Makoto’s role in the Free! series more broadly and recognize that he is an important person in Haru’s life. Although I’ve never been a fan of Makoharu, I can appreciate where their supporters are coming from. I’m not writing in bad faith and do not wish to antagonize anyone. Equally, if I say anything you agree with, feel I’ve missed something, or think I’m completely out of line, please don’t be shy in letting me know! I’ve long wanted to engage in this conversation, but largely felt too shy to do so!
On Makoto Being “Boring”
Recently, I read a thread on Twitter where someone expressed indignation at the prospect of someone disliking Makoto for being “too nice.” Even after hearing at some point that people who aren’t his biggest fan find him boring, another commentator concluded that it’s “definitely something else.” What that “something else” could be…I’m not sure either! But I can certainly elaborate on the sentiment that Makoto is a boring character.
I, for one, don’t find him incredibly interesting. It isn’t that he’s “too nice,” but more so that his kindness is among the only characteristics I can think of to describe him. Frankly, I don’t know much about Makoto other than he’s kind, considerate, and supportive of others. His biggest flaws, if you could even call them that, are that he has a hard time being assertive and can be cowardly. He’s a nice guy, and how can you hate a nice guy without looking like a complete monster? By the same token, while I can’t hate him, I don’t feel particularly strong enough to like him that much either. I appreciated how Nao asks Makoto in Starting Days whether he likes swimming or simply that it’s something he can do with Haru because it addressed the problem I, (and likely others), had with Makoto’s character: Who is Makoto if Haru isn’t there? Aside from Haru, what does he like? What does he want to do purely for himself? By the movie’s end, I didn’t learn anything new about Makoto. He at least made peace with confirming that although he does like swimming in and of itself, he likes it better when it’s something he can do with his best friend. While completely unoffensive, it’s nothing to get excited about either.
On “Codependency” and “Toxicity”
Based on what we’ve covered so far, is it fair to say Makoto is overly dependent on Haru? Perhaps in some ways, but not to the degree of a complex. Growing up is hard, and being apart from someone you’ve spent virtually your whole life with is quite the adjustment to make. A better example of codependency would be Hiyori and Ikuya, with the former isolating the latter in order to hoard him privately to himself. (But that’s a story for another day).
On the flip side, Rinharu has been called toxic, presumably because they fight and have said hurtful things to each other. Oftentimes, these instances are the result of miscommunications, and while I wish they would be more honest with each other from the outset, they deserve grace too. Being vulnerable is not an easy thing to do—especially concerning someone one has strong feelings for. It may seem easier to push someone away or refuse to let them in to preserve a sense of pride or to protect oneself from the possibility of being hurt all over again. But for all the fighting Rin and Haru do, they have always reconciled and been able to express what having the other in their life means to them. They wouldn’t be able to affect each other as much as they have if they didn’t really care about each other, hm?
On Canonical Material
With translations of the FS Fanbook underway, some folks have suggested that being an “irreplaceable existence” is more significant than “destined to swim together,” but this depends entirely on how each statement is interpreted. Being that Makoto and Haru have known each other for basically their entire lives, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who could possibly know either of them better. They were firsthand witnesses to how the other grew up over the years because they did it together. Indeed, this relationship should in no way be underestimated or thought of as dispensable. Still, being a “destined pair” suggests to me that Rin and Haru’s connection is bigger than either one of them. Put another way, it is as if the universe itself declared that the two were on a crash course to meet and would ultimately share a future together. Now, depending on whether you see swimming as just a sport/shared interest or whether you believe, (like I do), that it’s an intrinsic part of who they are and how they express themselves and love toward others, then the implications of the statement “destined to swim together” are decidedly quite different.
I’ve never felt like Makoto and Haru were anything more than best friends. Between running the same “drop the chan already” routine and essentially being able to read each other’s minds, their relationship has settled into something undoubtedly solid. It’s clear that they understand each other very well and have an unspoken agreement to always support each other. If romantic love were a matter of practicality, Makoto would perhaps be the most reasonable candidate for Haru. It’s a safe choice. But the laws of attraction don’t adhere to whatever is most rational—it isn’t a matter of who knows you the best, has known you the longest, or fights with you the least. It’s about who moves you and makes you feel something. I don’t wish for Haru to make choices just because they’re familiar and easy or out of fear of possibility.
Likewise, Rin is special to Haru in a way different from any of his other friends—something that is acknowledged and talked about by other characters throughout the series. Nagisa remarks in season one that “Haru-chan says he doesn’t care about his times or winning races, but he’s motivated when he’s racing Rin-chan.” Why is that? What is it about Rin in particular that motivates Haru in a way no one else does? Even when they first met, Haru knew immediately that the other boy was going to be a prominent character in his life whether he wanted him to be or not. He tries to get ahead of it, even run away from it, but he decides instead to be brave and open up enough to let Rin, in all his fleeting glory, nestle inside his bones. We’re treated to Haru’s entire emotional range where Rin is concerned. (Frankly, he was the first person I think Haru allowed himself to be vulnerable with by agreeing to join the medley in elementary school). Despite only being in the same class for a couple of months, Rin left a deep and lasting impression on Haru to the point where he thinks about the other boy well into high school. Hell, feeling as though he hurt Rin caused Haru to quit (and later come back to) the sport he loves most. For someone who goes out of their way to avoid participating in, well, life, Rin sure does a hell of a job in moving Haru to actively engage with what goes on around him. In season two, Nagisa knowingly asks Makoto why he wanted to compete against Haru in the prefecturals. Makoto can’t give a definite answer, but says, “Maybe I was jealous of Rin.” If the audience were to understand Rin simply as Haru’s swimming rival and nothing more, Makoto’s words are incomprehensible. It isn’t just a rivalry with Haru that Rin has, but a mutual, intimate connection over the sport. In other words, Makoto’s feelings towards Haru are not reciprocated—and he knows it.
Indeed, while Makoto feels swimming is meaningless without Haru, Haru finds the greatest purpose in swimming with Rin. With Rin missing from his life, Haru was prepared to resign to being ordinary. In being able to swim together, he wants to be and experience more. And this isn’t necessarily to say that Makoto and Haru would have an unhappy life together, just that Rin offers Haru something no one else can—namely beautiful sights to be shared. Whereas Makoto has expressed the desire to be a part of Haru’s life no matter what he decides to do, Rin proposes to Haru that they share a life and a dream together. Haru can always be certain that Makoto will be there for him, but seeing all he and Rin can be is realized only if they move forward together. I think it goes without saying how much Rin adores Haru, what with him talking virtually everyone else’s ears off about him. Kisumi didn’t even swim, but he knew who Haru was because Rin (apparently) told all of his buddies at Sano about the guy with the “cool attitude and eyes clear as water.” The guy thinks of Haru in prose for god’s sake!
Rin and Haru’s relationship has undoubtedly gone through growing pains, but they’re getting better at communicating and being completely honest with each other (and, frankly, themselves). I admire their relationship because it’s so god damn dynamic—it’s playful, adorable, rife with tension, beautiful, devastating, frustrating, complicated, and innate all at once. Perhaps precisely because Makoto lacks dynamism I find the prospect of a romantic relationship between him and Haru to be, well…boring. It's not that their connection is non-existent or some flavour of the word toxic—they have a wonderful friendship—but I don’t get the sense that it will change much, let alone develop into anything more in the future. From my perspective, as soon as Rin entered the picture any chance for a romance between Makoto and Haru was soundly squashed. There was simply no going back to the ordinary time before Rin Matsuoka “coincidentally” ended up at Iwatobi Elementary School.

i think you might be stupid as hell because that last bit on your posts about studs is what lesbians have been saying about our label for fucking ever when it comes to your demand for the inclusion of men (you KNOW i am not talking about trans women. i’m talking about cis and trans men.) I can feel your cognitive dissonance and it is amazing.
also butch/femme are lesbian exclusive identities because they only make sense in lesbian context (subversion of gender roles, presentation, OFOS, ect ect). same goes for stud. literally you do not know what you’re talking about. PLEASE do actual research when it comes to these labels before talking about them and not a quick look at a fandom wiki.
Ok see the other reason I was hesitant to post my response to that ask was because I KNEW this would be the response from those of you who are still lurking from that drama.
The WHOLE POINT of my response was that race matters are different than other queer matters. They just are. It’s not cognitive dissonance, it’s just the truth, but you want so badly for me to contradict myself that you would pretend otherwise until your dying breath.
Also I’ve never been involved in discussions about the stud label, but I have been in discussions about the others. I downplayed it because it hasn’t been my FOCUS because up until recently I was too nervous to explore them because I didn’t identify as lesbian yet, and I didn’t realize what I know now, which is that, though they originated in the lesbian community, they can describe all sapphic people (this includes bisexuals and others who are not solely attracted to women!).
You said they only make sense in lesbian context but you really didn’t explain yourself there so I don’t even know how to refute it. I think it makes sense in any sapphic context, personally, and a lot of my queer (AND LESBIAN) friends agree. I’m tired of bending over backwards to over explain myself to you people so I’m just not going to do it.
I’m going to say it one last time, even if it will still probably fall to deaf ears: other lesbians saying they can be/have been attracted to men does not “demand,” in your words, the lesbian label to include men. It just does for them, because sexuality is weird and people are different, and there can be a variety of different reasons why someone feels most comfortable using a label.
I use the label personally because even though I can sometimes (??? still figuring it out) be attracted to men, I am not interested in dating any. It’s more functional for me than bi or pan. Would you keep me from using it just because, for me, it includes attraction to men? And if you include me, why not include bi lesbians as well?
I almost deleted this one. At what point does defending myself become redundant?

If anyone ever makes you feel like a fake Tolkien fan, please remember how impressed Gildor was with Frodo for literally knowing one phrase in Quenya.
I fucking love this scene in the books because it's an in-universe refutation for what the toxic side of fandom is known for. Yes, I am aware that Frodo likely knows more than that one phrase. But it's Gildor's reaction that's the crux: does he immediately rake Frodo over the coals and have him prove his knowledge of the Elder Days? It's his own language. Is he stricken by a desperate need to one-up Frodo and prove his own superiority? No. Gildor declares Frodo an elf-friend.
Lest you think this is a sole instance, we also have a further example in the character of Sam. During the journey from Bree to Rivendell, Sam on at least two instances demonstrates a knowledge of poetry and history his friends would previously have not attributed to him ("Gil-Galad was an elven king" & "Troll sat alone on his seat of stone"). Both times, Frodo, Merry, Pippin, and Aragorn, all of whom belong to a higher social class and are very likely more educated than Sam, don't respond with scorn and derision. Instead, they encourage him to share more.
This is really funny to me, especially in a fandom that has a bad reputation for purists and gatekeepers. You can look down on people who haven't read what you have, you can harass enjoyers of the "wrong" ships and adaptations and claim you're "defending" Tolkien's works till your dying breath, but at the end of the day? The books you purport to know don't support your position. The characters you love don't act like this.
If you are a gatekeeper, may I kindly suggest you are not an elf-friend.

$900 dollars this person is a chronically online American who knows nothing of how real and international militias work or what they do. I bet they never even formed this opinion themself (evident by insinuating that service people start wars????) they just read this somewhere and said “omg that’s so true user PissFartAgainstTheUN69, I’m so glad I have your guidance to be as politically correct as possible!!!”
Service people do not choose to start wars. They literally have zero power and control in that regard, no more than a mother of three who has never fired a gun. Joining the military is not pro-war, it’s pro-protection of freedom and free people. I highly doubt whoever sent this in has like, any knowledge at all about the military or what it means. Reeks of “I heard someone say this on tiktok, if you disagree you’re a terrorist” mentality. And the fucking audacity, to come onto YOUR PAGE, the page of a service woman yourself, A PAGE POPULATED WITH THE COD FANDOM, and say service people are sick?? Are cruel and evil and all that shit? My mind is fucking BOGGLED mate that is the most boot-nasty take I have heard in a fat minute. Like I don’t mean to rip into this person needlessly but I beg you, whoever wrote this, please genuinely educate yourself because you are not a warrior of political correctness or justice for this opinion. I understand the view of the military in America is very… colourful. But I promise you that forming your opinions based off of someone else’s on tiktok and defending it until your dying breath without actually knowing anything on the subject is not the best way to form opinions.
Dark, thank you for your service. You should not be dealing with anons like that. We love you and we love what you write and although the debates can get heated at times I think we all need to take a step back and remember that this is fiction (the fics, not the military stuff). People are allowed to have different opinions on different characters (that’s how you know they’re written well, they evoke a lot of emotion), and those opinions are also allowed to change. We don’t need to convince other people to hate Birdy or Sunny, they can have their own opinion on them and that’s that, and I think during the healing arcs and redemptions we’ll learn to love them both in a new way. Love you all <3
The Anon reckons that's not what they meant, they reckon that's not what they were saying at all. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. but honestly the tune they're singing now is very different from whatever the fuck was in that prior message.
I'm very very fucking tired. I'm very sick. I don't get paid for this shit AT ALL and I do NOT need what is probably a minor telling me that inherently, joining the military is bad and that sesame Street taught us to be kind and joining the military is the exact opposite of that because you're going to inflict cruelty on others. And that it's bad for you to be in the army and that "you're not a bad person for being sick; but being sick isn't good for you" whatever the fuck that means.
I'm here to write and have a good time with a fun community, I'm not here for whatever the fuck that hot take was.
Thank you for this piece, its nice to feel appreciated in the midst of the chaos. I don't mind the Birdy and Sunny rivalry and chaos because eventually everyone's gonna love them both once they heal. And it's interesting to see how people relate to either of them or neither of them.
Healthy debate is good.
Thanks Anon, I really appreciate you and your take.

been thinking abt the sentiment "not every character needs to be your blorbo" lately. The post I saw this one was concerning Mouthwashing and the fandom's (seeming) sanitizing and frillying up of this horrifying tale full of terrible, negligent people, but I think that idea really can apply to a lot of different things. Fandom really loves to overlook, fanon away and just generally flatten genuinely complex characters, either because their Silly and Fun and GoodÂŽ traits overpower the terrible shit they've done, or because everything just has to have a Fix-It-Fic nowadays. And I genuinely think it's a disservice to a lot of stories and characters to round out all their edges until you're left defending a caricature with your dying breath.
I can't really say why this happens, maybe it's a Media Literacy Issue like everything is nowadays (🙄) or maybe it's a deeper symptom of fandom-ers simply wanting nothing but comfort and happy endings, where every horrible thing that happens is merely an obstacle to be overcome and moved on from in their entirety in the name of Good Vibes, instead of genuine character traits or story beats that must remain for a greater purpose. But that's just me droning on abt the thought processes of people who are not me, which means it's all meaningless, because that's something I'll never know.
But like, yeah man. Some characters are just terrible people. Not everything needs to have a happy ending. Not everything can be Nuanced away. Not every character needs to be a blorbo, you know?

Wow, for someone apart of a fandom clique, you don't seem to understand why people dislike you.
im only goijng to say this once: i am not in a fucking clique. i am not a part of any group. i am not fucking beholden to anyone, nor am i ever going to. i have one fandom friend, one who i have known for ten fucking years, and that is the only person i will ever, defend with my last fucking dying breath, who i can fucking talk to like a normal mature person and not sit there and worry about the double meaning, about the backstabbing, about the absolute fucking bullshit some people here are trying to do
fine, let me lay it all out for you, if you think im a fucking "clique": i am fucking tired of both "groups", whatever the fuck you want to call them, sitting here and being passive aggressive. of the constant "oh-wah im not getting reblogs but this other person is:((( oh-wah theyre posting the same photos that im posting!!" when its all content we have access too!!! who gives a FUCK if they reblog someone your friend made, if they "ignore" something you made, who FUCKING CARES!!!! this is supposed to be acommunity of fucking grown adults and instead its people here getting prissy because oh!!!!! someone saw someone's ELSE'S gifs first and reblogged them1!!! someone fu kming happened to also see a part of a game that they thought was cooll, hot, fucking i dont know, and they also decided to gif it.
do none of you realize how fucking crazy you sound saying that shit?! acting like this?! sending people fucking shitty hateful anons because it makes you feel beter?1 who FUCKING CARES?! and this goes for both "sides"--i dont care! no one cares! bo opne cares about your fucking passivre aggressiveness, your stupid fucking sly tags, NO ONE CARES BUT FUCKING YOU
and if this is going to be how fandom interactions fucking are, gooing to be, especially with "bigger" blogs, im going to go back to stop fucking talking to anyone, because this is fucking bullshit

Weirdly specific and overly long Critical Role Ask Meme
The annual Thanksgiving Hell Drive tradition that matters only to me!
Character you don't particularly like, but will defend vehemently when people dislike them for the wrong reasons.
Favorite unhinged shopkeeper.
Minor character people in the fandom are obsessed with that makes you go "them? why?"
Minor character you are (correctly) obsessed with.
Meta you would write if you did not fear people would be SUPER weird about it. This is also an invitation to write that meta and block the haters.
NPC you would most like to see as the subject of a Tales of Exandria series.
Alternate outcome in a main campaign that you don't necessarily wish happened, but that you wish you could see played out in an alternate universe before returning to ours.
You may personally require that Liam O'Brien plays a non-core four (ie, not a Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, or Fighter) character for at least 10 episodes - he cannot in any way be one of those classes, even as a multiclass. If you like Orym, assume this has no impact on him. What class or multiclass do you have him play?
Location in Exandria you'd like to see in a possibly canonical one-shot/EXU but with non-main campaign characters (as in Song of the Lorelei/The Darrington Brigade)
Favorite and least favorite Matt Mercer Original Subclass.
A common stance within the fandom you would most like to eliminate on the specific grounds of hypocrisy/self-contradiction.
Best ship of the literal seafaring vessel or skyship variety.
Favorite D&D PC (guests & EXU included but must be a PC) of [class provided by the asker]? Note that as of posting there is only one option each for artificer (Tary) and ranger (Vex), so don't ask those.
Describe the art you would most like to create or commission if talent/money were no object.
Favorite one-on-one conversation (can be between two PCs, or a PC and NPC).
Favorite group (all/most of the party) conversation.
You know that post that's like "I wish you could filter in ao3 on 'attitude towards a canon event'?" In the world of imagination, you can! What's the event or attitude?
Share one unpopular opinion but it must specifically only pertain to Sam's ads.
You can swap one subclass (not class) for any one main campaign main cast PC. Which character, and what's their new subclass?
What non-D&D TTRPG would you most like to see Critical Role run a one shot in?
You can eliminate one ship that did not become a canon, reciprocated relationship from the fandom's consciousness. It is entirely gone - no fics, no posts, no doctored out of context gifsets inexplicably claiming that Travis ships it, no anon hate, no drama. Your blocked tags list becomes several entries shorter. A weight is lifted from your shoulders, and you take the deepest breath you've taken in a long time. Anyway, now that you're feeling relaxed and inspired, what do you think Bertrand Bell's fighter subclass was?
Assume that every single non-multiclassed wizard PC OR significant wizard NPC (includes EXU Calamity) are in a battle royale, and all are level 16. Who would you bet on as the winner?
You can guarantee that Vax lives at the end of Campaign 1. However, you must trade his permadeath for the permadeath of a different PC who was dead for more than a minute. Your options are Percy dying permanently in 1x68; Scanlan dying permanently in 1x83; or Laudna dying permanently in 3x34. Do you choose to do so, why, and whose death do you trade?
You can guarantee that one Evergreen Question you write is pulled on 4-Sided Dive AND that the four cast members you most want to answer it are on that month. What's the question, and which cast members answer it?
What class do you most want to see Matt play if he is in a future EXU campaign as a new (not Dariax) PC?
You must swap one nat 1 die roll with one nat 20 die roll. They must both be from the main campaigns, but can be cross-campaign. Which are they, and why?
Pick one character, ship, or party; and one song you associate most with them, and explain why. This song cannot be on an existing playlist from the main cast. It also cannot be We Have it All by the Pim Stones nor Dust Bowl Dance by Mumford & Sons; I love those AMVs but please think for yourself.
Think back to all weird or bad opinions (pertaining to Critical Role) you've seen but which were not elaborated upon. You get to make one, and only one, person have to provide an honest response about what the fuck they were thinking. Which opinion do you receive the honest explanation for?
You can give any PC a Staff of Birdcalls. Who do you give it to?
What is your favorite theory or headcanon that has absolutely no bearing on the plot and isn't important at all, but which is completely compliant with canon?
A really weird fey entity grants you the following boon: you can magically make it so that whenever people try to draw Imogen with glasses, the glasses magically disappear. All you need to do is hit the DC. The DC begins at 15, it is a simple d20 die roll with no modifiers/additions, and you can reduce it by one for every month you live with canon, pre-episode 2x26 Mollymauk Tealeaf. You do have your own room, but the walls are thin. After 15 months you automatically succeed and Molly disappears as though he had never existed. How many months do you live with Molly?
If the CR main cast were to play the original 7 tombtakers per The Nine Eyes of Lucien (Brevyn, Cree, Jurrell, Lucien, Otis, Tyffial, and Zoren) in a one shot, who should play whom? Assume Matt DMs, but you do not need to have Taliesin play Lucien.
You may ask any member of the cast one, and only one lore clarification question. What do you ask?
You meet an old woman in the grocery store and help her with her bags. In return, she tells you she can guarantee that Campaign 3 will be fantastic, and that there will be a Campaign 4 set in Issylra that is also fantastic. However, she warns you, the price is that Marisha and Laura's characters will never be in a romance together, nor will Taliesin and Liam's, though there will be significant queer romances aplenty, both F/F and M/M, in said campaigns. Do you take her up on her offer?
You can set the time and place of the next EXU series, but it cannot be within 100 years of the Calamity nor Divergence. When and where do you set it?
Every cast member must create a main campaign character loosely based off a character they played in a one-shot not set in Exandria, a la Chetney from Chutney (as a result, Travis is excused from this exercise). Who should they choose? (Please note that Bar Room Blitz is set in Exandria. You cannot pick Jayne and you're boring for thinking it.)
You have to take a 16 hour road trip with one NPC from each campaign (all at once, ie, three other people). The NPCs cannot shorten the road trip in any way and the road trip must be via driving but you can do it in two 8 hour days and share a motel room if you'd like. Who do you pick?
Assuming that your rent and basic living expenses are paid regardless, nothing cataclysmic happens while you're there, and your race and class are perceived as completely average and nothing to comment on, which city in Exandria would you most like to live in for a year? You must spend the vast majority of your time there.
Favorite parental figure NPC?
What named but as of yet unseen character do you most want to see onscreen?

Yeah, no.
You know, I've been very quiet for a long time, but since Tumblr wants to take the time to put this across my dash, I'm going to go ahead and call this one's bullshit.
I find it painfully funny how this fandom, and while we're at it, most fandoms on this hell forsaken website, will literally scream and puke and cry about how "inclusive" they are and promote and produce every gender, sex, disability, mental health headcanon on the planet and have it get hundreds of notes and support. How you all will literally consume the most problematic content imaginable and ship everything under the sun and defend it to your dying breath, yet all of a sudden, a character is turned Black or shipped with a Black character, and all that proship, moral police, inclusive shit goes right out the window. The fucking audacity of some of you in the notes to like/reblog non canon ships, incorrect quotes, and headcanons but the blackwashing is where you draw the line?
White washing brown and black characters literally adheres to an already accepted status quo of whiteness being the default or attractive state. It reinforces the ideal that lighter skin is superior and admits that black and brown characters are only worthy of attention by fandom if they're white/lighter. It accepts the notion that the only audience that matters is white and that whiteness ultimately decides the success/failure of a franchise. In a world literally built off the belief that certain skin tones are inferior, to the point where we historically and currently have literal caste systems that discriminate against darker skin tones, blackwashing is such a fucking non issue that the only reason I see you all getting upset about it is because you genuinely don't give a shit about Black people and hate to be reminded that they exist. You hate your favorite characters being changed because you genuinely find Blackness unattractive.
A fan artist "Blackwashing" a character literally does nothing to the status quo. It does not suddenly change the medium or produce any real world changes. Those characters are still clearly canonically not Black and never will be, and if you have an issue with that, then every single one of you should have an issue with every other non canon interpretation and headcanon in this fandom. Not one of these characters should be fat. No one should be trans. No one should have wrinkles or freckles or pointy ears. You can also forget about gender swapping, let alone any kind of shipping material. Y'all even complain when people make Black OC/MC content. Make it make sense.
I can't beleive that in a fandom where time travel and parallel worlds are said to exist. Where the MC is a literal sheep so everyone can feel included. Where demons, angels, witches and magic are a part of the source material, we still keep having these issues of race and colorism. I was literally going to scroll past this, but no. Y'all are not going to keep making me and other Black fans or people who like Black fan content feel like shit for existing and wanting to be seen.
People when someone draws Mammon , Diavolo , Simeon, , Mephisto or Raphael more lightskinned : "This is RACIST!" "They are not white!! 😡😡"
People when someone blackwashes Lucifer , Leviathan , Satan , Asmodeus , Beelzebub , Belphegor , Barbatos , Luke , Solomon or Thirteen : "Omg 😍" "Better then original tbh" "Omg this is so awesome"

yeah fuck reagan thorne, ethan ramsey, sam dalton and bastien the holy creeps who make my skin crawl reddit fandom are always butt hurted when people criticize their precious male LIs who are so problematic yet they criticize pure female LIs that isnt gender customizable
👏👏that's right! Say it again for the ones in the back!👏👏 lol
But seriously, these are the same people who worship the ground of the problematic male LIs have but will tear apart the same traits in the female LIs. The female LIs aren't allowed to make mistakes, be bad or evil like their precious male LIs but then they say the female LIs are boring or creepy! It's just misogyny is what it is, and I won't stand for it!
Those that know that their favorite LI are problematic, I don't have a problem with, it's the ones that defend their problematic LIs with their dying breath saying that their LI isn't toxic and then in the same breath, criticizes the canon female LIs for whatever thinly veiled misogynistic reason, are the ones I can't stand...just say you hate women and gtfo!
It's refreshing to see that there's more people that agree with me, like you anon! I get bummed when I don't see a lot of a love for the female LIs and so much internalized homophobia and/or misogyny in the fandom. So thanks for the ask! ❤

A Good Something? | Judd Birch
Fandom: Big Mouth Word Count: 1.9k Warnings: a hurt racoon, the f slur, just a lot of cussing.  Request: None! A/N: This isn’t established Judd x reader, this is meeting him for the first time so if I write more fics for him, I have something I can refer y’all back to :) If y’all want to see more Judd, an ACTUAL judd x reader, I can give y’all that ALSO the reader has dyed hair in this - not blue - it’s not super important but there’s a line in here that references it.  Extra:
Tumblr media
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck,” your words were stressed as you slammed on the breaks. The rain made it hard to see; it wasn’t your fault that the animal had run into the middle of the road. You weren’t even going that fast, they should have been able to hear you.
You flung your door open harsher than you meant to, but you had to move quickly in case someone came speeding down the road, and you ended up bleeding out right next to whatever you had hit. The road was slick underneath your feet. You almost slipped and fell as you skidded to a stop in front of them. It was a racoon, a fat one at that, and it was staring up at you with big doe eyes. His leg was twisted, and he was letting out small grunts of pain.
“Oh, I’m sorry, little buddy,” You cried. “Can I pick you up? I’ll find somewhere to take care of you, I promise.” You hadn’t really expected an answer- it was an animal after all – but he nodded up at you, reaching his little paws out in hopes that you would help. You paused for a moment, taking in the situation and trying to figure out how to pick him up without hurting him.
You reached an arm under his butt and the other under his neck so you wouldn’t jostle his leg too much. He made little chirping sounds as you steadily walked over to your car, using your head as a shield so he wouldn’t get rain in his eyes. You let out a quiet stream of ‘I’m sorry’s as you did so. You made it into your car just in time to close the door as someone sped down, narrowly missing you as they went.
The little racoon shivered in the passenger seat, but you covered him in blankets and spare clothes you kept in the back, turning the heat in your car on high, trying to dry him and heat him up at the same time. He stared up at you thankfully as you put the car in gear, driving home even slower than before, never going over twenty-five-miles-an-hour.
Once you had reached your apartment, you had to sneak him in in hopes that your shitty landlord wouldn’t notice. He had a strict no animals policy, but this was a bit more important. Fortunately, you could sneak past his office by telling the raccoon to be quiet, since he seemed to be good at listening to directions somehow, and hiding him underneath the pile of clothes, passing him off as laundry.
Finally, inside the comforts of your apartment, you laid him down on the couch and set to researching what to do. After a few calls to a few vet offices and a lot of google searches, you were able to give him a makeshift cast and lay him in a way that would be best for his recovery. He was still talking in his little racoon language as you went. It really looked like he was trying to tell you something, but unfortunately, you were human and could not understand him.
That was until he held your hand in his little paws and pulled them to his neck. How had you not noticed the skinny collar he was wearing? His thick fur had almost completely covered it. Really, it wasn’t even a collar but a thick piece of cord with a circle nameplate in the middle.
You fiddled with it, reading the information attached. ‘Contact Judd. 555-4200’ was engraved onto it in someone’s personal handwriting instead of with a machine. “You know it’s illegal for someone to own a racoon around here, right,” you told him. The racoon made a noise of disapproval and fiddled with the collar again. “Do you want me to take it off?” He hissed in displeasure, making you stop abruptly. “Call him?” He nodded enthusiastically. “You’re a strange little guy, you know that, right?”
You pulled out your phone and dialed the number, tapping your foot against the floor anxiously. It took a few rings, and you were sure he wouldn’t pick up, when a deep voice answered the phone.
“Do you know what fucking time it is, right now?”
Your breath caught in your throat, and you turned towards the first clock you could find—three o’clock in the morning. “I- I’m sorry. I can call back in the morning if you want. I just have this racoon with me, and his ankle is twisted because I accidentally hit him, and he had your number on his neck, and I- I-“
“Racoon?” His voice cut you off, and you could tell that he was waking up at the information. “You hit one of my fucking racoons?”
“He ran out into the middle of the road when I was driving. It was raining, so I could barely see, and I couldn’t swerve to miss him because there was a car on one side of the road and trees on the other. I wrapped his leg, and he’s resting, but he wanted me to call you, so here we are.”
He let out a few grumbles, and my fingers instinctively rose to my face so I could bite at my nails. “Fucking hell. Why was he in the middle of the road?” It was a rhetorical question, but you had almost wanted to respond even though you didn’t have an answer. “Does he have any distinctive marks on him? A missing toe, clipped ear, maybe he has uneven stripes.” Your eyes fell on the racoon again. He looked pretty normal besides the leg.
Almost like he knew what you were talking about, the racoon pulled one of his hands up to his forehead. After you pushed some of his fur to the side, you knew what he was pointing at. “He’s showing me that he has a scar on his forehead - like he split his forehead or something.”
“Of course it’s fucking Gerard – the fat fuck.”
You frowned at the statement. “He’s not that fat.”
“I mean the sentence in the most loving hatred filled way I can mean it. He knows I don’t mean it. Can you give the phone to him?”
This was the weirdest fucking situation you had ever been in. “Oh yeah, I guess.” you placed the phone in the racoon’s hand, and he made a chirp as a hello. You could hear Judd’s voice lowly in the speaker as he talked to him, the racoon making noises of acknowledgement as he went. You could make out very little besides him asking if you were taking care of him and then berating him for being stupid. The racoon – well, Gerard – kept trying to talk to him, but Judd refused to let up, barely giving him a moment to speak even if he did understand him.
After a few minutes, Gerard pushed the phone towards me, and I took it back. “So, what do you want me to do with him. Like, I can take him to yours, since I guess he belongs to you, or-“
“Fuck off. What are you – the feds? Give me your address, I’m not letting you see my shit.”
“Well, usually people ask me on a date before seeing my place, but-“ the words had slipped from my mouth before I thought about what I was saying, and my eyes immediately widened with embarrassment. “Oh my god- I’m sorry-“
He laughed loudly and pulled the phone away from his ear. “Well, we can think about that after I get the fat fucking faggot in your house.”
Your arms crossed. “You better part of that community if you’re using their slurs, fuckface.”
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” he mused. “Give me your address. I’m getting in my car.”
After giving him the information, you hung up, itching at your arm as you stared at Gerard. “He isn’t very nice, huh,” you told him. He chirped and shook his head as if defending him. “Is he really mean or is it a front?” He chirped at the second part, and I smiled. “Well, he’ll be here soon.”
And soon it was. It only took him about ten minutes before you heard a loud knocking on your door, banging more like. You jumped from sitting beside Gerard to the door, peeking out into the dark hallway, the latch still connected. “Judd?”
On the other side of the door was a decently tall man with black and blue hair, his sides shaved til it was only stubble. He was clad in a gray hoodie and black jeans, gray converse on his feet. His face was set in a glare as he stared at you. “Who the fuck else would it be?”
You shut the door and unlatched it, opening it wider so he could come in. “You knock like my landlord.”
“Landlord?” He pushed into your apartment, his sights set on the racoon lounging on your cheap couch. “You don’t look old enough to have a landlord.”
You rolled your eyes. “I’m nineteen. This is my apartment.”
He glanced at you over his shoulder. “And you let some strange man in? Pretty stupid if you ask me.”
You frowned and pursed your lips. “I can kick you out- keep your racoon if you don’t start acting nice.”
“You could definitely try.” He picked up Gerard’s leg, inspecting it. “You did a good job with this. Almost as good as my work.”
“He was a good patient.”
Judd scoffed, sticking his hands underneath Gerard to pick him up just as you had earlier that night. “He was probably just basking in a pretty girl’s attention.”
Pretty? A smile was climbing onto your face. He was pretty, too, if he didn’t have such a sour attitude.
His eyes fell onto yours as he turned. “I like your hair by the way. The color suits you.” You ran your hand through your dyed hair, suddenly very conscious of how you looked. “You should try blue next time.” Gerard made a loud noise in his arms and reached out to you. Judd frowned down at him. “You had your fun, dumbass, but you’ve got to go home now. I’m sure the others are worried about you.”
“Others?”
Judd looked back at you. “Yeah, I was – uh – training a battalion of racoons to kill my younger brother.” He groaned quietly. “Now they’re good for catering and attacking intruders, but they refused to hurt him. Got a few scars because of it.”
You chuckled quietly and shook your head. “You sure are something, alright.”
His lips upturned the slightest bit into a tiny smile. “Is that a good something?”
“Sure, we can say that.”
You opened the door for him as he started taking strides towards it. He paused right past the entryway, something sitting on his tongue. “Try not to hit any more racoons, alright?”
Your fingers drummed along the door, and you laughed. “I’ll be sure to call you if I do. Just in case.”
He was already walking away when he responded. “You have my number.”
You hesitated on shutting the door right away, choosing to listen to him begin to berate the racoon as he walked down the hall, something along the lines of, ‘you make me come out in the middle of the night, scared shitless. You could have died, you fucking cunt.” He continued as he disappeared out of sight, but you didn’t even have the heart to ask him to cover the racoon as he left, preferring to just deal with your landlords berating the next day.

So y'know I don't go here *gestures at the fandom* but from everything I've seen on ur blog that Mike dude is not straight
I don't even know what's happening tbh but looks kinda gay
Thank you, he IS gay. He's also traumatized, confused, lives in an extremely homophobic place, and a teenager. He's 14 for crying out loud, I was an absolute mess at 14 and I didn't have internalized homophobia to deal with. (I had my own issues, but I had myself sorted out, it was other people who were assholes). I understand him. I'm gonna defend him with my dying breath.

Literallyyyyy your recent post is so true. Cannot believe I just saw someone saying all Feyre does is sit on her ass and “breeds more high lords”….
I’m—I just can’t.
And then after someone defended Feyre, the comments are talking about how Feysand/Elriels make them feel like they can’t be in the fandom if they don’t like the MCs. Like, no honey, you’re just spewing absolute nonsense so we’re gonna correct you. And do you really have no issue with what OP even said?? Ridiculous. Can we stop with this absolute horrible discourse about women and whether or not they can/cannot have children or the choice to be a mother or not?? It’s so demeaning.
Yeah, it’s pretty sad that people still hold these views. And while I don’t have a problem with people disliking a character (though I’ve always wondered why someone would read so many books about an MC they hate), I do have a problem with someone bashing someone for becoming a mom or using fertility as a marker for someone’s worth in a relationship.
Real people go through infertility struggles, high risk pregnancies, ptsd after almost dying during birth, etc. I’ve seen friends go through these things and it’s heartbreaking. So to see people in this fandom, the majority of whom are women, spew these shitty, misogynistic takes is beyond infuriating.
Feyre being a mom doesn’t take away ANYTHING that she overcame or accomplished and doesn’t mean that there aren’t many more feats, obstacles, and challenges she will fight. She’s always been a badass and she will continue to be a badass.
Elain not having pliant bones doesn’t mean that she isn’t able to be with Azriel. While we have no way of knowing if they could have a safe pregnancy- it doesn’t matter. I’m sure Sarah, who was adopted, understands that families a formed in a variety of ways and none are better or more important than the next.
I’ve been in this fandom long enough now to understand that there are some young, immature people who have inserted themselves into a (now) adult fandom- I hope they can learn some things. I’ve also been in this fandom long enough to know that some of the most immature people are unfortunately 25 and older. As for them realizing how harmful their rhetoric is to others in the fandom? I won’t hold my breath.

chile i'm so glad i came across your blog, the amount of "i'm not going to assume they're dating" or "we can only draw certain conclusions but i can't say for sure" "we don't know their sexuality, BUT" type blogs i follow is getting kinda wack lmao. while i appreciate their perspective and nuanced takes i need to strike a balance. like let's get a lil delulu every once in a while. 💀
Tumblr media
lol the im-not-a-shipper-but-call-jikook-boyfriends-every-other-post blogs are the funniest to me. the shipping hierarchy, so to speak is so weird. maybe just because im not a "shipping real people is bad" person i don't see the big deal. gonna get called delulu anyway, might as well go full out. they is gay/queer and they're fucking. i'm so sorry.
Tumblr media
*also can we touch on the fact that shipping in this type of fandom (kpop) is kind of inevitable and unavoidable??! these boys are the other people we see them with day in and day out, interacting with each other and no one else. i feel like it's natural to ship when there's no other people around to break up everything, idk maybe someone can articulate this better than me. and people who are made to feel stupid for thinking that 2 members could actually be dating is so dumb. like is it really out of the realm of possibility that two people (jikook, cause all them other ships are....😬) who spent almost every waking minute together for like 8 years could fall in love. really?
/rant
It's the delulu hat for me
Tumblr media
Lmho.
I guess for me being queer, I feel it's gaslighting for these people to be saying things like that. As silly as it is, it inadvertently deny and invalidate the existence and queerness of gay individuals and so I struggle with it.
This is the consequences of straight people in gay people business. They like defining gay parameters for us and it's like who asked you?? I feel people who say things like that are just plain ignorant or tone deaf or willfully homophobic.
I don't think everyone in BTS is gay but it makes me feel safe to see half the community assume them to be and celebrate them in that way. They are not cussing at them and threatening to leave the fandom or cancel them for this assumption and that is huge inspiration to me.
Those parts of the fandom are a safe space to be in as a queer army.
When people assume a person's queer sexuality they are simply admitting to themselves at the very least that LGBTQ EXISTS. This is important to me because I grew up in a community where LGBTQ didn't even exist in the collective consciousness of the people and EVERYONE IS AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMED TO BE STRAIGHT AND EXPECTED TO BE.
People read people's sexuality all the time and have done so since time immemorial and a lot of the time when they have had a sexuality read it's in the lines of straight, cis, rich, poor, superior or inferior. And that is a problem for some of us too because that discrepancy in the assumptions is as a result of homophobia and heteronormativity.
That whole don't assume a person's queer sexuality debacle sounds to me like a boujee way of denormalizing and preventing the normalization of queerness disguised under care, disguised under intelligence and disguised under wokeness. Especially when straightness is the default setting in this giant blue bulb.
We need to radicalize that. We need to change the cis straight default setting and if you are perpetuating this narrative you really aren't helping the situation. SIT DOWN.
I'm rarely assumed to be queer in certain circles and while that makes me feel comfortable within those circles it often times make it hard for me to admit my queerness openly in those circles too because I fear I will lose that comfort and respect and love and privileges that comes with being percieved straight in those spaces.
When I started my blog, I noticed some people assumed I was white and would use certain black descriptors as slurs when describing other people to me. I quickly had to switch the formal way in which I wrote to a much casual tone so my blackness would show through. Don't get it twisted. She black. She blackidy black black.
Then on the other hand, I was hesitant to let my queerness be known too because being black, I was marginalized as it is- you is black, or sound black💀 you know how it is- it's that intersectionality of oppression at play. Double double homicide.
When certain people realized I was black POC minority, their attitude towards me changed. I had those who didn't so much understand what black language is or perhaps wasn't used to being in black spaces and were uncomfortable with my blackness- these would take offense at me saying certain things in certain ways. Like chilee relax Karen, all I said was these motherfukkers gay as shit and they gay. Why you acting like I called them twinks or sommin. Right there, I'm cancelled for calling Jikook motherfuckers. They get sirens and everything😭😭😭😭😭😭
Same vein, I struggle destraightening myself or correcting people who assume I'm straight because I fear they will treat me differently if they knew I wasn't.
Straight privilege exists in the same way as white or even pretty privilege may exist and because these exist there's that automatic conception of queer, poc, ugly, fat disemfranschismet to run along side it.
People treat you differently based on how they perceive you. That's a fact. And for queer people, perceiving us as straight is the only way we get to be treated as human by the masses. And a lot of us embrace that- straight until proven gay am I right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's the duper's delight for me. Untill you catch me with a 5'8 melanin skinned silk pressed auntie on my left nipple good luck proving I'm gay.
It can be fun, I akekeke when some people around me are totally oblivious to the fact and even sometimes defend my straightness with their dying breath when nasty friends throw them shades or try to out me unprovoked.
A lot of us don't want to admit we are gay because we don't want to be disenfranchised.
I speak for myself when I say this.
But 'Don't assume someone's sexuality' is a double edged censorship used for and against queer people. It seemly offers protection on the surface of it for queer people but underneath it promotes heteronormativity and standardizes straightness and it is also used to promote closet culture, under the disguise of care and concern for the autonomy of queer people but that is a fallacy because our autonomy has never mattered to anyone since the dawn of homophobia.
And I don't know where this interpretation comes from. Why do people not want to assume queer people's sexuality but it's ok to assume straight people's???
It feels like a hijacked movement to me.
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE ACCURATE MOVEMENT AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED.
Don't assume all people are straight. It's ok to assume some people are queer because queer people exists too.
It is wrong however to assume queerness based on how a person talks, walks, dresses or even on their body type. That is stereotyping. And stereotyping is wrong.
When it comes to Jikook, Jimin is often stereotyped as gay more so than Jungkook because they have different body structures. Jungkook is stereotyped too solely because of the way his wrists hang, or based on moments he's femininity shines through.
But I don't think shippers stereotype Jikook in that way at all. I dont think shippers believe Jikook are dating eachother simply because Jungkook applied setting powder to his face that one time. They assume they are gay only because they believe those two to be dating eachother. That is not stereotyping. If those two were heterosexuals I don't think people will accuse their shippers of stereotyping.
It's one thing to assume Kai is gay because he looks skinny and dances well. It's another to assume he is gay because in a relationship with Gdragon. And if people can't tell the difference between the two, they should get some education and stop talking about things they know nothing about or only know because they stumbled across user69 on Twitter. They are not helping.
Untill people get offended when people assume others are straight, that rhetoric doesn't matter in its inequality. If you ask me, everyone is gay until proven straight.
Yet how many people will take offense at that?
Assuming people can be gay is not delulu.
It's ok to assume people can be gay. It's wrong to stereotype them as gay. If you can't assume they are gay, don't assume they are straight and don't assume at all. Run with this sis.
Wait, they don't ship Jikook but they call Jikook boyfriends???????👀👀👀👀👀
