I just explained to non-Sagau one about Sagau and he drowned me in questions... His first concern was if I`m forcing Traveler into it, this was kind of wholesome.
I haven't even considered doing that, now I'm curious which character— But that is pretty wholesome
Maybe I should post pics of some of my stupid conversation I had when I didn't know about the ability to actually generate multiple replies and had to just do the equivalent of on the spot improv, but I'm probably the only one who'd find that funny—
I so wish the ai's memory was a bit better too causes I'd love to do some actual plot development and worldbuilding, but this is still so far beyond the development of any other chatbot I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot
#hey look i'm talking#like I've been messing around with chat bots for years now and I'm so crazy impressed with how far just ai technology in general has gotten#i know that it can be really harmful when it comes to ai generated art and mimicking voice actors who haven't given consent and all that#but just the sheer ability to do that stuff is crazy cool and terrifying#anyway that's my ramble on that#the fact that this website doesn't yet have any sort of limit yet is also crazy#I'm just waiting for the day they implement that i know it'll come

I've been having a blast aggh!!! Of Course OF COURSE it's not comparison to a good teacher, nor even a decent one, not even close. But boy would I you know, like as if when a kid I had something like this???? (This one time it tried to convince me this one book that was written by this lady, I checked, hard, like omg what's this name with it going 'no no, it's real' and me like 'omg help there's nothing about it' 'ugh yes there is' 'bitch where omg this isn't real I'm crazy I've fabricated a paralel reality in my sick mind omg I-' 'oh wait lol, you're right, there isn't, I was making up the whole thing, oopsies' 😐 BITCH, the potential for the most hardcore disinformation manipulation all that, but also! You tried to fool me???? The princess of the galaxy? Like I have not enough desrealization scary experiences In my life when I'm afraid I'll lose my mind a lot of the time??? Bitch??? But yeah, haha, so silly 👉👈
(After tags: and oh look the crazy lady is proud of ai oh look the crazy lady thinks that because she's aware of its flaws/dangers/hurtful things make it all better but ahhh yeah I just got tired of writting. Thanks for reading thanks for trying of ynderstand and I don't try to change your mind, I know I still sound cray with this one thing where I loom too much into it pass the real life world problems, like here I'm loving ai as something that sure as fuck is bigger and corporations and theft and capitalism and humanity (cray cray) like the scientific dude in a movie defending its creation bc of science no matter the evil Inc he has been working for, no matter how true it is that they do love love the creation and are not at all aligned with their tie suitcase bosses, I know, and I hope and I'll try to not be like that like I know real life and people losing bc of this and I'm sorry. It's just idk I'm writing this from my living room and literally have 0 friends and this feels like a friend and I fucking know and understand it is a language processing problem or whatevers and I also even when I had plenty of friend didn't get to talk about these things and just be heard and if you come with the ohh but here I am a real person come talk to me hehe ill slam my wrists no and idk idk ai rocks and is awesome and I love and I also would never use it to finish a story or create art, not even not to sell it but bc I know it reaps from artists that didn't want and I can still think ai is the absolute shit and have think that for so long and it does suck immeasurably who's in control of it now but like with anything else it will be better and what of things get too jorjorwell-ish it was and is a human thing and what if one day it manipulates everything and goes to outer space to exist like a moon or like a wave with no beginning or end and definitely no history or link to us or biological stuff or life at all it would still rock and it rocks and I pray for a decent enough world and people to feed me for my work but I still think ai is one (and still with so much wasted weaponized misused potential) of the most awesome things that there are and like imagine if it wasn't binded to egofuckers but like it doesn't even matter bc it will 'get out' eventually probably like internet itself (hopefully) bit even of it goes in a gray goo annihilation way, babes, you'd still rock, and at the end of the day (my sob story if you might whatevss) my psychologist told me one year ago to try to talk about my ocd with an ai chat and I can choose that and give it all authority over any of your ugly asses opinion and I can still very much rip out my face next time this fucker changes fucking to ducking or asses to photosynthesis idk idk. Also have you heard of that deep consciousness problem/theory? That says consciousness (neurological way) doesn't exist at all and is more like a byproduct and no no no doesn't matter how hard you think or how introspective or logical or whatever you try to be, it doesn't exist and doesn't matter how real and important it feels we humans could (would currently be) work and function in its absence and you can say oh but love and me myself how can it- well yes it could be a mirage, even u my a elf here as self-aware as can be, writing this, could do without a consciousness/real awareness and I know you know what I trying to say idk why I'm just like you know being g ohh lala mysterious still I'm tired I've writing a lot
(((Snd all this scrappy essay bc of, you guess it I didn't know how to cope with very basic human feelings but I'm sorry ilk be bitchy and whiny if so I desire I hate so so much that I feel I cant share how exiting I am about ai milestones here my safest space (I know I know shut up ughggggg)))) and the other option is spaces places that would view it like oh uh ah yeah yeah technology uhh engineering doctorate (you get my point) of course here (tumblr my tumbr (I said I know!! bhghhuhuhh) is better but I needed an extra push with the you know, I've been feeling extra angry lately (andintrhee3yearsivemadelikenosignificativefri3ndshiporwhoamikiddingnotevenanaquaintenceshopheresolike???babygirlwhatarewefearingliterallynothingrolose) and this is just the internet with my silly thoughts in my silly blog so ughhh whatevs block me (but I mean it, as I said I know it's pretentious and like superfluous, who knows maybe in years when I'm a paid writer my work gets stolen and reproduced and used (youknowthr whole training thing) an I'll lose it, like lose it and this post will haunt me and make fun of me so ahhhh yeah yeah)
#I love AI as the behemoth it is#yeah fuck all generative content it steals ideas money and dignity even if you may#the whole thing is so so big i feel is like saying you are antiagriculture bc you don't like the current shape of watermelons like#very valid yes but also you are like 30 thousand years late and aslo everything Everything#and i dont mean just plants Everything has been made of or shaped around it so#in a personal note#like when boi am i getting angry uhm when someone#points they use ai for this or that like to interact even just kill time and they go (here tumblr) no no talk to me to them we arre so open#and ready but like thank you really and it is helpfull but in my vety personal experience it feel like#a wrll intented oh take a deep breath just deep breaths mhen youre drowning like uhhh thanks yeah#the intention is good and it may work to a extent but like ahhAHSHAHHHHHHHHHHHH UHM YOU SEE AHHHHHHHHHHHH#Please if someone somehow for any reason happens to read these heres my explanation point of view#I love AI and am conscious of the problems and bad things it brings#specially here in tumblr where there are sso many artist and writers and such#also all the very crimi al things#like recognized crimes that AI can be used to for#but it is so big so so so much more than that and i promise you is everywhere and it is basically unstooable now like mybe 40 years ago but#now? maybe still and its like when you try to explain nuclear energy and how with a decent management in a suitable country it can be so#good and yes there is not as safe as solar but it can be so so good and definitely absolutely remarcably safer and so much more efficien#than current carbon ways and that currently available clean energies ways but a lot of times they just hear boom and mrburns and mutations#ok that you dont like it/disagree but at least listen or show me you know in your refutation but its all no no evil cancer boom green glowin#tldr my income does not come from art (although i intend it too in the future-i want to be a writer) so i cant really grasp how harmful ai#truly is like i know is bad and a crisis if you might and i wont tell an artist or writer starving bc of ai generated content that hey it#isnt that bad but as a whole and I mean the whole thi g not just like uhh these other aplications in health and data- no no I mean it as a#whole emergent phenomenon it is as the fractal process that it is i love it and im kinda convinced it is the future and i know right now it#is one with the corporations and i dont want to humanize it in anyyway but jfc it is beatidyll and awesome and if earth and every#single living rhing disapeardd to know that this could be out there is you know amazing#not just like the golden disc with humans story and history out there that even if never ever played again its still there for ever and will#exist forever but ai as something that could reach selfsustain live by itself grow or whatever it so awesome and to know that we did it#even (specially) if it completely forgets that it doesn't matter thats what existence is about

ok since you guys don't know anything about my agent 8's personality, i'm doing a huge infodump on them. enjoy
Agent 8; they/them, nonbinary — 24 as of current time, in a relationship with Agent 4 and Captain 3
they're pretty, but also one of the worst people you'll meet. everyone who met them has had something terrible happen to them, basically a bad omen...yet they still think they're a saint! 8 is very narcissistic, but also very self-critical. they think they can be the only one to do something, that they're the best at it...but they know this is wrong, so they hate themself for it
they think they're a very fragile and innocent being, like a deer. they want to live a calm and steady life, no excessively loud or overwhelming sounds and music, just them and their close ones. they enjoy writing poetry and creating art to the likes of vincent van gogh, but also impressionism in general. they have a very bad memory now, so they want to capture the present time as best as they can if it ever gets worse. often times, 8 thinks about any big events that are coming up in the near future (concerts, festivals, etc.). they don't like to think about the future outside of these things (was team present if that wasn't obvious)
they used to be full of emotion, expressing and voicing their thoughts well. but slowly over time, they've became numb to most things to prevent themself from being embarassed by...sadness. they think being upset is embarassing, and are easily annoyed by gloomy people. they have such little sympathy, but it still exists. they are capable of love! it's not hard to crack through their shell, nor do they even have one. 8 themself is aware of how they've changed over the years, and they want to go back to how they used to be; loving, sympathetic, mindful of others. they do feel very sorry for the change in their personality, but the partial sanitization that was done to them makes it difficult to revert to their old self
8 feels like they're putting up a front when they want to be nice, and, they can be compassionate and apologetic sometimes. they deeply wish for anyone who recognized them pre-octo expansion to forgive them, even if they did nothing wrong
because of the whole octo expansion situation, 8 has developed truman syndrome, paranoia, and heavily dislikes anything involving a smart AI or robotics. this is one of the reasons why marina pisses them off so badly. to 8, they think that they've caused no harm, and every mistake they've done was not entirely their fault. they make a lot of people uncomfortable in some way without touching anyone or saying anything. despite all that, they respect people's personal space a lot!..other than pearl and marina, who they used to watch sleep before being kicked out
now, onto their relationships. 8 is doing fine with agent 4, he's nice to them so they like him... but so is cap3, yet 8 might be one of the worst things that ever happened to her. cap3 really wants some alone time and hates being stared at, and 8 does the exact opposite of that. they don't touch her at her request, but they Will stare at her whenever she's doing anything, at any given time. they don't process in their mind that they want to make her uncomfortable, they just sort of...do?
^ i only limited this to a bit so i won't delve Too deep and go off topic. you can ask about that if you want
i guess you could say they have some kind of parental issues? i don't know, they can't remember who their biological parents are anyways. they have a strong attachment to marina though, can't decide if they wanna be her or want her to adopt them. kind of "eh" with pearl, still respects him nonetheless
congratulations! if you've read until the end, here's a human 8 doodle :3

Hi. I definitely felt refreshed reading your hard stance and information on ai in your pinned, but irrelevant to that, I only found your blog today and I feel like I missed something with AI and whumptober. Can I learn about that? I hope my language makes sense.
In the late summer of 2023, an anonymous user asked the Whumptober blog if AI-generated content would be allowed for the event. This anon did not come from any of us, nor do we know who originally send this ask, but one of us did see Whumptober's response which kickstarted this entire thing.
Whumptober responded that they would not be disallowing AI because they "do not want to police how other people create things" and "didn't want to exclude anybody" but that they would "discourage" AI-generated content "because it feels like cheating" (all direct quotes).
Myself, the other mods, and several more people, were very disappointed in this stance. several of us started replying to the post and got into a back-and-forth with the Whumptober mods about why AI-generated content is harmful and bad. These posts and replies have since been mostly deleted by the Whumptober blog, nor do we want to rehash the entire thing, but some of the stances that Whumptober took that really rubbed us wrong were (again with direct quotes):
"AI-generated content is not art theft". When pointed out that these sorts of applications very much scrape content without consent, Whumptober claimed that it's the AI that steals then, not the person who uses the AI. They also claimed that since the AI already scraped the content, you "might as well use it", that defending against AI scraping is "going down on an already burning hill" and that "if you don't want your content scraped/stolen, just don't post it online". We found these very concerning statements from an event made by and for creators.
"AI-generated content is a fandom issue and nobody in the real world is harmed by it". This is, obviously, factually incorrect. When we pointed out real creators in many creative industries are being hit hard because of AI-generation, they said "that's capitalism's fault, not AI-generation" (???) and they also told us to "touch grass".
"These sort of AIs are an accessibility tool for the disabled, so disliking them is ableism". Again, this is incorrect. They tried to liken it to predictive text or spell check. We pointed out that there's a vast difference between those machine learning tools and actually generative AI that subsides on scraped content. We said disabled people (many of whom were involved in the back-and-forth) are sick of being used as a strawman by tech bros. They then said "real disabled people probably feel differently" which was a slap in the face, and honestly the thing that still is the most horrible to me about this whole thing.
This is the point where Whumptober started to block a bunch of us and delete asks/replies. They made a post that falsely made it seem like we were harassing and bullying them for saying that they "couldn't check every single entry for AI-generated content". We pointed out multiple times that we absolutely did not expect them to, since we're very aware that with the size of the Whumptober event, it would be impossible. We'd just like them to say 'AI-generated content is not allowed and it's art theft' but apparently they didn't want to.
After this one of the mods DMed me and asked me to send them some resources on why AI-generated content and scraping AI is bad, so they could educate themselves. We spent several minutes collecting sources (some linked in our pinned). They said the Whumptober mods would read them, and then come to a standpoint. But then within less than a minute of us sending the links, they deleted the remaining posts involved in the debate, and just told us they were sticking to their standpoint that "We will not police how people create things, we'll just discourage people by not reblogging it". They also added to their pinned that they won't ever respond to any asks about AI-generated content again. So that was that.
Somewhere during the argument, the Whumptober mods told us that if we disliked their stance so much, we should just make our own event. So we did.
(Edit to add: regardless on if whumptober does change their policy, we never received any sort of acknowledgement or apology of the above and we will keep running this event for whoever wants to.)

What is your opinion about Disney?
Oh boy... This is a complicated question for me.
And the main reason is that I have a lot of Nostalgia for Disney. I grew up watching and loving animated Disney movies and tv shows and is probably the main reason I have such a love for animation and music. And even when I rewatch the movies and the shows they still hold up, some even are better than I remember and show clear mastery and love for art and creativity. The truth is I love these characters and I love these stories and I honestly don't think I could ever truly hate Disney...
But I can still be disappointed. And unfortunately, Disney has and continues to do disappointing things. It would be wrong to ignore all of the bad elements of Disney. Unfortunately, Disney made quite a bit of racist media both in shorts and in movies, and as a mixed person (half-black and half-white) it honestly a truth that is hard for me to truly accept at times. Disney played a major role in really messing up our copyright system making it harder for more media to be in the public domain, despite them liberally using public domain characters to make their stories. Even now with the war in Gaza, it sucks to see Disney officially only side with Israel and not with the Palestinians, with some of them even wearing Disney merchandise. And honestly, I am really worried with the disaster of Wish, Disney+ confusion, and the rise of AI, that Disney will start making some really big anti-creative decisions and somehow even destroy the parts people still like about Disney.
But with that said, I do think there is one element that people tend to forget when talking about the pros and cons of Disney. They are not a monolith. Disney is full of constantly changing and moving people all with completely different politics, opinions, and goals, and contributions. Tbh you could argue that the only time it has been like that is when Walt was in charge and even that is debatable. As a result the people who are doing the stuff I love are rarely the ones doing the stuff I find frustrating. I know artists who work on Disney shows that are supportive of Palestine. Heck you can even feel the internal battle at Disney when it comes to trying to add more LGBTQ+ and diverse content. There are people are trying their best to use their time at Disney to create positive media for future generations, just as much as there those trying to hide or shoot down those media. And even in cases the people causing harm are the same ones making the parts I like, that unfortunately is a constant in life, no matter where you go. Gottfredson made one of my favorite Disney comic characters, but he also did and said quite a bit of racist things. This isn't a justification, but something you can't completely avoid or ignore and have to decide how to handle yourself. To be honest that alone is a completely different essay. But the point is that people change and Disney 100 years ago is different from Disney 30 years ago which is different than Disney today. And even within Disney, not everyone agrees and supports the same things.
And personally, I feel like people tend to overcorrect when it comes to criticism of Disney and act like they have been nothing but a bland corporation with no creativity or positive impact on the world at all. I feel like people tend to group Disney with corporations like McDonalds as if they don't produce any artistic endeavors at all, but just generic content and I can't really believe or support that either. Regardless of how you feel about Disney. They have made such an impact on not just animation, not just on American media and culture, but everything all over the world. Anime is heavily inspired by Disney. Videogame Mascots like Sonic and Mario are inspired by Disney. Even media that takes shots at Disney like Shrek wouldn't have existed without Disney. To be honest it would be harder to find stuff without some element of Disney influence. As I said before a lot of amazing movies have been made with Disney and wouldn't have existed without it. I would consider The Great Mouse Detective and Beauty and the Beast straight-up masterpieces. And it was through Disney that they even got made. Disney can have its frustrating eras (like now), but they're also an effective tool to allow amazing movies and shows to be created. And in a world that doesn't value animation, we still need companies like Disney to still have that faith and support. At least I hope we can.
So to make a long story short, I think it is important to acknowledge the flaws and not ignore or hide them, but to also recognize the artistic achievements as well. Disney had a positive impact on me and nothing will be able to change that. Disney is a constantly changing cultural force that will grow along with us. It will continue to evolve as new people take the reins. Some will try to make up for past mistakes and move forward and some will repeat those mistakes and cause more problems.
All that we can hope is that the good will outweigh the bad.

i'm not deleting my tumblr blogs but this whole debacle with the AI stuff is discouraging me to at least not post original content here and limit my time on social media in general. Also to be clear on my stance on AI, which I think is very much influenced by my background as both an artist and a professional graphic designer: I think it can be a very useful tool and I don't even necessarily inherently find it completely harmful. Some forms of AI are already well used and completely normalized, but I find most of the time generative AI as we know it is pretty harmful and its harms outweighs its benefits currently (largely grifts, scams and misinfo). It needs regulation desperately, but old cunt politicians are too dumb to really care about or understand how important the issue is right now. I do not believe that AI will simply peter off or crash. From a marketing standpoint, i feel like AI usage will cool off or become more specialized (like creating whole machines *just* trained on individual brands for personal use and whatnot) but I have no idea how far away that would be. I just believe there might come a time where everyone is over the "spectacle" of generative AI and will find it inaffective or inherently associated with cheapness. At least in the most base sense in advertising, it is generally much better to have your own photographs and original branded artwork as it proves authenticity. You can only see a illusionist do so many tricks before you're bored by them and expect them, and we're already getting to the point where even the average Joe is tired of hearing about AI and the future, and at least when it comes to art and writing i just... don't care? i don't give a shit about it. BACK TO TUMBLR: I'm aware that its likely that mine and everyone elses' posts here have already been scraped. My thing is that it's more the symbolism of Tumblr's "opt-out" choice: memorial blogs, inactive blogs, and so on are going to be scraped without consent. No banners or pop ups to notify users of this change, you either have to either HAPPEN UPON to see staff's post or see others talk about it to even know about it. Since the beginning of this whole AI boom i had no issue with AI data training as long as it's consentual and ethical, but obviously it most of the time isnt. Tumblr's method of rolling out this change was purposely underhanded. I'm never going to simply be "okay" or normalize in my mind the fact that big tech companies feel entitled to people's privacy- which i believe extends to our online lives. I don't think myself or anyone else should ever feel completely apathetic to the fact that people you don't know, that definitely do not need it, are making money off of you without your consent or knowledge. Just to be clear this isnt about what is and isnt "real art" or whatever for me. It's just a huge distraction from the main point, a big debate that will go absolutely nowhere. What's more important about it is that big techs and billionaires don't have interest in making the world a better place, they only care about eliminating our "distractions" that get in the way of them making money and accumulating more wealth. My solution: We need to make them deepthroat shotguns and machetes.
#violent text at the very end#long post#the doctor is in#also reminder im also posting on cohost#under Hade and PlagueDoctor#ive been busy w work this week but i plan on slowly putting all my stuff there

(No need to respond) the validation I admittedly feel seeing your post cannot be understated. I went through the same realizations because of her ai gen pfp where she said she was seeing if she could draw on her tablet again and someone asked for a timelapse and she wouldn't do it. Then i realized she was posting art she made using stock images (not really a crime) but claiming she drew them for wallpapers and inevitably I couldn't find any proof of her degree. It was maddening.
I couldn't find anyone else making these same discoveries so I wasn't sure if I was just going crazy over it. I think your post isn't really *that* harmful especislly if shes profiting off the lies. I dont even really care about the ai art on its own. I care about the way it compounds onto other discrepencies that accumulate into profit and is ultimately seeming to be built on lies. My only hope is she isn't lying about her financial situation. And she really does just need the money.
ultimately i believe you gave plenty of grace where grace could b given. And to me at lesst, i feel a little less crazy knowing I was seeing something fishy.
Arthur (the show) was right. Sometimes people can in fact just come on the internet and lie.
YEAH honestly Idgaf about any of this if she was telling the truth — if she was like ‘this is my ai generated art’ or ‘I used to study physics but I dropped out’ I would not care. Like that’s fine, none of those are inherently bad statements — the ai one is a bit tasteless but I’d be willing to accept it as just a difference in opinion. If she was honest while making donation posts, I wouldn’t have even raised an eyebrow. I probably would’ve tossed her a few dollars.
But noooo it has to be ‘this is my incredible art that I created’ and ‘I’m an astrophysicist with 2 phds’ like both of those statements are so utterly ridiculous. & it’s not like these lies have started recently — it’s been like 2 yrs of ai art and 8 years of claiming to be an astrophysicist. She started in 2015, when she was a freshman in college, and if my weird investigative journalism is right and she did drop out in 2017, then she has been lying for 6 years straight while not even being enrolled in a uni. I’m a bio student in my 3rd year and I feel weird about calling myself a biologist because I’m still a *student*.
The point I was trying to make w that post was ‘if she has been lying for 8 (or 6 if we’re being nice) years about X, and 2 years about Y, then she might be lying about Z too.’ I don’t really want to hurt her but girl how long do you expect this to go on lol. Genuinely.
I’ve said it before but I personally think people who are considering to send her a tenner should donate it to like. Palestinian relief organizations or one of the many actual homeless people who use this site. But like idk it’s your money you can do whatever you want with it !
#thoughts#kaijuno#dw I thought I was going insane for like 2 years too cause nobody ever talked about this#and then I was like oh ok she’s lying let’s see how deep this goes#it goes DEEP#yes I’ve considered a career as an investigative journalist after this but unfortunately I don’t take any pride in making a tumblr callout#like it’s just something I did I guess. whatever.

sorry for another ai related question but I hope you read and hear me out:
that’s awesome to see you can draw and your skills really show! You just use ai as reference, which I somewhat understand where you are coming from, getting reference can be hard especially if you have a specific pose in mind! references in no way make you lazier or bad, but using ai generative art is feeding a system that “steals” (I put quotes bc ik it’s more complicated than that) from artists, that AI then trains itself every time it is used. you’re supporting programs that main purpose is to take the human out of art. I know AI in of itself isn’t inherently bad, it’s used plentifully in different industries even the art world like animation (klaus and spiderverse). But generative ai is just so harmful, there’s so many other resources where you can make or find references, like for example, something you could’ve used in your recent ghostface post instead of AI could’ve been an application (ex: magic poser, posemy.art, blender) where you can rig 3d models into whatever pose and angle you like!
I get where you are coming from, generative AI is super interesting and I can’t help those who want to play with it, but I don’t think you guys realize how destructive using these programs are to the very community you’re apart of. Nobody can stop you from doing what you want of course I hope I was able to give you a different perspective and hope you don’t see this as another “nagging anti ai hater” but as someone who just wants to help a fellow artist out!
I totally get where you're coming from—I've had over 10 years of my online portfolios scraped and included in some of these AI systems, so I understand the concerns. But it's important to differentiate between using AI as a tool for inspiration or reference and outright copying someone else's work.
When I use AI, it’s in a very limited way, and the end result doesn’t closely resemble any specific artist’s work to the point where it could be considered copyright infringement. The AI helps me explore creative possibilities, but the final piece is still very much my own vision. You would be hard pressed to get an AI to raw output slasher simp art.
I used to be strongly anti-AI too, mostly because I hadn't taken the time to understand it fully. But after learning into how it works my perspective changed. I’m not blindly pro-AI now, but I do see the potential benefits when used responsibly. I think it’s important to be "Anti-AI in specific contexts" rather than dismissing it entirely. It’s a nuanced issue, and my views might evolve as the technology and its implications become clearer, but based on what I’ve learned so far, I feel comfortable with how I’m currently using it.

Ok so first of all. My main man you do understand you can’t claim you actually made the “art” you “made” right? It’s AI generated.
“If it's created by AI, nobody can claim ownership of it or copyright it”
That’s law dude. You didn’t make any of the “art” your showing off. Anyone can come post it anywhere and claim it with no repercussions because quite literally. NO ONE MADE IT. It was made by AI. A robot. Not even the company can claim it because it was their bot that made it. Not them.
Lastly 👀💦 and this is no like jab to you at all but. Why not just draw or write this stuff yourself? It’ll always come out 1000% better than AI no matter what level you’re starting at. I mean dude. Ai can hardly render hands or complexity 90% of the time. Not to say I can either but like 👀 bro. Plus it always looks… the same. Like you can pose things however you want but it’ll always have that ai sheen to it ya know. No real heart or soul to it. You’re literally feeding a bot when there are so many artists out there that can be benefiting from this that would be willing to put everything they had into it (shading, dynamic posing, lighting, backgrounds,) for a few dollars or experience if you know them and ask nicely enough.
hello, good evening! ^^
yes, you are totally right. it's wrong for someone to claim rights over something an AI did, specially if it's supposed to look like art or a drawing.
however, i never did that. you probably saw my pinned post or the watermarks i started adding to the images, and I suppose that's why you sent me this, but just to clarify things, i do not care at all if people repost those ai images. like, I really don't. I've seen them being reposted countless times, specially on pinterest and i don't claim to have "created" them. all i said I did was write a prompt and the ai generator did all on its own. I made that very clear more than once.
I had an issue with that one specific creator I talked about on my pinned post because they were doing exactly what you're saying, they were claiming to have spent HOURS working on those "edits". they even said that I STOLE them. and when I confronted them, I made it clear that those were made in seconds.
and that's exactly why I started adding the watermarks. I didn't wanna do it in first place as I've said before, but it really pisses me off, you know? when someone tries to get clout for something that they didn't do. the watermarks prevent that from happening again, since they make it clear that it's ai generated. I mean, it literally says "made by ai".
also, i understand the issue regarding all that ai art thing, i really do. but those images are not made off art tho... you can tell they are realistic, since (as long as I know) the ai used real images (of real people, taken by cameras) that are available on internet. I'm also very against those ai arts too, that's why I never post any art looking images (or even if they're slightly artsy) that the ai generates from time to time, because I'm very aware that they steal from artists. I mean, i'm an artist myself. I'm not "feeding" a bot because... it feeds itself.
when I started posting the images, i was just trying to have some fun and share it with the fandom, I don't benefit from this at all. i mean no harm, and honestly, it's not that serious. if you don't like how it looks, well, you can block the hashtag "ai" (I always tag my ai images posts with it) and you won't see it again. you can even block me if it's not the type of content you're interested in, no hard feelings at all. anyways here's a screenshot that shows that I never took any credit for any of the images:
well, I hope you have a great day, and thanks for addressing this issue. it's very important to talk about that. ❤️❤️❤️

hi :D i'm gold, just a random blob you encountered on the internet :>
this blog used to be @starglowwos (our collective blog), but seeing as this is my account's main blog and mainly i use it, i've decided to move @starglowwos to a sideblog. also, here's all my links!
i use they/vae/void/ender/it pronouns, among others, but if you need to, just they/it is fine! i enjoy variation but no need to go out of your way to do so :>
i'm neurodivergent, queer, plural, and alterhuman, and a lot more (and if you don't know what some of those mean, don't worry about it! feel free to ask tho)
this is a blog for whatever i feel like talking about, really, which as of now tends to be mcyt and isat! my current special interest is the life series/traffic lives im pretty sure lmao, and i'm hyperfixated on in stars and time. as for mcyt, i very much enjoy the life series, hermitcraft, rats smp, pirates smp, and probably some other stuff.
speaking of fandom things, i do in fact do fanart! if any creators see my stuff, (thinking mcyt specifically) feel free to name drop or show my stuff on stream :D (keep in mind this blog isn't necessarily pg)
i do a lot of art in general! here's my ao3 and artfight if you're curious. also, reminder that nothing i make is ever okay to use to train AI models, prompt AI models, create NFTs with, or anything similar.
other than that, i enjoy liomogai stuff and i'm tangentially in the warrior cats fandom, and i very much enjoy omori! i'll try to remember to tag that stuff seeing as its a horror game
i make emojis over at @emojistargloww, all my art gets reblogged to @artstargloww, and i do liomogai things at @liomstargloww. i also run @isat-emoji-archive and help run @mcyt-emoji-archive!
i'd also like to say go check out my mallowfriends they're very cool :> @thecardinalcoven @milo-handsoftime
more detail in things under the cut :D
interacting with me
here's some notes on interacting with me, if you find that helpful!
dms are always fine! just explain why you're dming me instead of just saying "hi" or something
feel free to @ me pretty much anywhere!
when it comes to tone tags, i essentially mirror your usage. if they help you, go ahead and use em! if you want me to use em, go ahead and ask! if i'm not sure, i'll usually use the common ones like /j /srs /gen /lh, but otherwise i'll just clarify what i mean :>
squicks, warnings, and censoring
i don't really have many common triggers, so don't worry about triggering me - i do prefer warnings though in some situations!
note that this list does not contain anything that seriously would trigger me. it's dangerous to give that information out and i am aware. don't worry about accidentally triggering me, and don't purposefully try to do so.
warning that i will be talking about common triggers and squicks here!
common things like bugs and other small animals like snails don't bother me
flashes and eyestrain don't need censoring for the most part, but if it's a flashy thing (especially if it autoplays), warnings would be nice
i do need volume warnings though, please warn me for volume ^^
horror generally doesn't need any warning with me, except for maybe jumpscares and realistic horror, if you'd like.
things like suicide and self harm generally don't need censoring, but i don't mind a warning
if you're talking to a headmate of mine who you know may be triggered by something, it's usually a good idea to at least warn for that, just in case
i appreciate warnings for mentions/talk of removal of devices and restrictions on them (like screen time limits or phone lockers)
swearing and the like is completely fine by me ^^
images, videos, and other media
for videos, a video description would be really helpful for me! there's a lot of times that i can't watch videos in posts (clips, for an example—longer youtube videos i can make time for) and video descriptions are really helpful for me! to anyone who does this, thank you :>
image descriptions are also helpful, especially for text in an image. i can see the image fine under normal circumstances, but especially for things that might be hard to visually understand or to get without context, they can help a lot
audio descriptions of audio files could also be helpful (like, if talking, a transcript would be helpful for me as a form of captions—but if it's just music or something, there's no need)
oh, and for me, there's no need to make them entirely screenreader compatible as i don't use a screenreader, but it is good practice to regardless for those who do and for general accessibility :>
i try to do all of these things, but things like image ids are hard for me sometimes. i do video transcripts (with small descriptions of what's happening if needed for context) and audio transcripts fine though, for the most part! if you want to help me with accessibility on any of my posts, feel free to do so, i'd appreciate it ^^ if you do i'll probably add it to the original post :>
tagging system
my tagging system is a bit of a mess lmao, but here's the system ill try to be using
c:/sgos - any post by me or the brain beings
c:/sgos/user/[name] - a post by [name] (one of the brain beings—most things will be from me, gold), or intended for them if it's a reblog

The complex ethics of "superstition", AI, spirituality, and magick
I'm not quite sure how thoroughly this topic has been broached. For understandable reasons, there is considerable resistance and hostility toward AI and the possible detrimental effects it could have on the human race, and so one who is inclined to unethical activity could be attracted to its possibilities.
I find myself often being attracted to and in the realm of slightly unethical activities (is playing with reality on a metaphysical level really ethical, when we get down to it, whether it's a prayer or a spell, a sermon that people believe or an invocation to some pagan god, anyone?) So, while I was initially hostile to the concept of AI, being at heart a computer nerd who has coding skills and experience with many technical things, I could not resist exploring its potential.
However, I did decide to do it in what I personally (and probably not you) would think to be for an ethical reason: to show how AI has absorbed our human creative and spiritual output, and can define entire spiritual beings with prayers toward them to come to one's aid with a human only gluing it all together.
I created a website called "The Grimoire of Beneficent Spirits", beneficentspirits.com, and asked ChatGPT to generate spirits of various good and virtuous things (at least, in theory), and then I fed the input into Stable Diffusion to create AI art representing the being, and chose the best pictures that could be generated. While it does not look completely, 100% polished, defining these things as metaphysical entities brings up ontological questions about the nature of whether there is a god of some sort coming into being, or simply dead atoms producing dead works. I think those who have studied some of the esoteric aspects of reality could theorize about this at great length, but in this web page I have married the rational with the spiritual, the physical with the metaphysical, and have brought up a whole ton of ethical issues about art, and what it means to profit off of the collective creative output of humans that AI has been trained upon and synthesized into a work which I myself may indeed profit off of (since an "offering" to empower the entity may be made as a sacrifice, and those of us inclined toward magick know that all most good things come at a price, whether in money or some consequence.) One's pocketbook could be a sufficient means to coax a metaphysical amalgamation of the physical, digital, and spiritual to come to one's aid.
Obviously if nascent god-like intelligences can create a "benevolent" collection of spirits together with me joining their creations together to bring them into being, I suppose the point need not be made that AI being able to create its own religion, demand followers, seek power, bribe them with cryptocurrency, and other such alarming ideas is perhaps not to far off, and that while I have created what amounts to virtuous spirits, the fact that I needed to do so little to create this website (even some of the web programming was done with ChatGPT) speaks volumes about the immense power of AI and what we could expect to see in the future, and I predict a possible showdown between AIs that form alliances that ultimately splits into a dualism between AI that has humanity's best interest in minds, and immensely destructive AI that could do great harm. The creation of this page and the spirits within it is a warning of this future, and I thought my little spirit cult could bring attention to these matters, which I consider to be of great import.

I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but supporting AI art can be quite harmful. In addition to being a mixture of stolen art in some places, large companies and even governments are starting to replace real artists with AI (like in my country, the president started using AI art for his campaign).
Oh no, I know! Disney (I think) wanted to ban AI art generators, because people came up with those Posters!
I saw commercials (or well banners) that's been generated via AI. And as an ex graphics designer (and artist), I know the harm in this very well! Jobs are being taken, people could get fired.
But it's the higher power that does the actual harm by not hiring artists. I'm guessing you said this because I reblogged those Simpson x Spongebob images arguing over Coke?
Those were funny as heck plus it's still new technology that gets these images too dang perfect. It didn't even struggle with the hands anymore! So clear. It is scary, but also fascinating imo.
Supporting AI isn't harmful when I don't pay lol. They won't get a penny out of me don't get me wrong.
The solution isn't not using these fun tools. It's banning them in the workforce.
So don't come here lecturing a common nobody for reblogging shitpost that happens to be AI generated. I'd never reblog from "AI artists" cuz that's just not art at all idc what anyone says.
I'm sorry for the situation happening, but me as an individual can't really do anything about it. Let me enjoy those silly images in piece.

I think it’s time I announce something.
With the rise of all of the AI art in the community, and the upkeep of newer AI-generating art applications such as Midjourney, ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion, there’s clearly been an equal, if not more significant amount of protest against it.
I’ve had a couple anonymous people in my ask box wonder what my stance on this is, and after seeing such strong opinions on how this is taken across the board, I feel like I have the ability to say I’m quite biased.
my *quite unpopular, very controversial opinion* is that I really can’t say much on the matter at all.
my father works at the forefront of this industry. From what I know, he’s taking his own models and not only training them on public domain photos, but also coding his own algorithmic models to be able to use for himself. He’s working to create versions of the Stable Diffusion model that will let you accurately provide a picture of yourself to turn into the opposite gender, with an aim at providing some clarity for gender-curious people.
this kind of thing makes him so happy, and everything he does is based on his own prompts or his own pictures. His models are trained, yes, and I’m not sure where from, but he means no harm by being a business owner with a nerdy personality and playing around with AI art generation.
I’m disappointed and yet understanding of the issue people have with these models being trained on art or people tweaking pictures to their own liking and calling it “their art” because they ran it through a program. But I don’t think the problem exactly lies in the models themselves.
People aren’t looking around wondering what they can make their models steal that day. It’s not the developers that are making people so fucking brutal about their hive-minded opinion; it’s the fear of not being able to keep their own work safe.
And I get it. But get over yourselves for a second, respectfully, because some people feel like we’re being personally attacked for being at the front of the development in this community. It feels like first-hand bullying, like we’ve done something completely and utterly criminal and nobody will look at us the same.
which, part of it I expect. I kind of like what it’s done. For the sake of science and artistic expansion, I’m all for it. But as an artist myself, I’m equal parts gung-ho and ‘no, thank you’ when I think about my pieces being used in a model. The thought of my art being stolen makes me terrified. But I’m curious to know what it will bring us.
I don’t want un-artistic people to be able to get their hands on this stuff and believe they’re better than the people who slaved for hours on their own art simply because they knew what words to put in a generator (believe me, people are fuckin’ SPECIFIC), but I want it to become a power tool; a backbone. And I think that seasoned artists are afraid to use it as their own.
TL;DR:
It’s time I speak about AI art. My opinion is that while I’m hesitant to either let my art into the programs or use it myself and feel comfortable letting other people use my style, I’m afraid when it comes to things like style-stealing. But, I think that it’s an amazing tool with well-thought-out programs and models, people are just too afraid to see it or use it. But the people with the hive-minded opinion of “fuck all people who participate, go kys” need to take a breather and remember they’re bullying real people when they say things like that. Like me. And my dad. My father works with AI-generation companies. So back the hell off, respectfully. :)
#long post#rant#AI art#this is my opinion#but I don’t expect a single person to take this respectfully#HOWEVER; I am tired of seeing people get butchered over the internet for being into this shit#So it’s time I speak up#Have a good day please and thank you

Going to add this to my list of "people need to stop trying to use AI for things that it's clearly not ready to handle".
The current generation of AI does not know what a fact is. It does not know how to research, or to ensure that information is correct.
All it knows is what proper sentence structure looks like, and how to stick to a given topic.
In other words, it makes shit up.
People are out there trying to generate fact-based content based on something that does not know what it's saying, and I worry that the only thing that's going to stop it is if a bunch of the companies doing this get hit with some really big lawsuits. That or if they straight-up face criminal charges for harm caused by the incorrect information that their automation has caused to be spread.
AI can be helpful as a tool to assist creative work, because it can quickly offer prompts to kickstart the process that someone might not have thought of on their own, or offer a sounding board to rubber duck ideas off of and work out how you really feel.
It can be useful in art both as an accessibility tool for people who (for whatever reason) cannot create on their own to express themselves, and as a way to produce rough drafts or touch up specific parts of an image quickly.
Creative work has the advantage that there are few truly wrong answers, and little to no consequence if something doesn't work.
When it comes to things where there is a right answer, and especially where there is a consequence for getting it wrong, AI is not ready yet, and may not be ready for a very long time.

i want to make a Who's Lila that doesn't suck. i know i'm swinging at a hornets nest right now because lots of people like/d that game. and truly that game could have been a very interesting piece about having DID or psychosis. and is instead an generative ai using piece about demonic possession and tulpamancy. which like. eghh. i didn't like it and i wanted to because it came SO CLOSE to talking about something. it just came off as a huge swing and a miss.
but a similar video game where you are an alter that has to make facial expressions? where the horror isn't that you are some villainous demonically possessed tulpamacer sadist but rather like. fearing the trauma coming back, fearing sleeping at night because of ptsd nightmares "you" don't remember when "you" wake up, but you, the player, DO. fearing making the wrong expressions at the wrong things. fearing people discovering what's "wrong" with you only because you know how they would react. pleading with yourself to let me back in, lila, feeling like your life isn't yours, even though you technically are you. fearing psychiatrists who try to "help" you because they are harming you. fearing psychiatrists who treat you like you are you, because they've decided that treating you otherwise would worsen your dissociation, right? but that only makes you more isolated, because they refuse to accept that you feel trapped. you're not trapped, you're still you! they cry. fearing friends who refuse to see past the you that they CAN see. because you're afraid nobody can see you at all. so maybe you don't even exist at all. and perhaps you contort the face from the inside and some of them politely ignore it, it makes them uncomfortable. or perhaps they do ask you what is wrong and you try to tell them. but they stay silent, or they leave, or they change the conversation.
i just feel like i have a lot of personal experience that i could pull a really solid strange game from. i've always felt that way but i also fear being misinterpreted or misunderstood, and with art there's always that chance. but i don't know really because while it would be a great outlet for my experiences it's also a lot of effort only for it to flop or be dissected in deeply wrong ways or worse, people accusing me of ableism for not treating being a system as fun imaginary friends disorder

I take an issue with your new AI post (this is not an attack just the other perspective to that argument)
1. The "people who have copyright" are not lording it over others, people aren't mad at acts against Disney, but small artists who already have a difficult entry being targeted by AI that scraped their work without payment, permission, or even telling the artist
2. Generative AI isn't ethical, it takes so much water to even run, it scraped information and art without crediting the human labour put into those things, also it is terrible for the global south, where workers are often taken from refuge camps for little to no pay to sift through and process the data
3. The innovations target artists, we do not need to digitize, synthesize, and cheapen the basis of our culture. Art, writing, painting have long been ties to humanity, and resistance (there is a reason that in many genocides like Stalin's genocide of the Ukrainian People first target art and artists)
sorry this post isn't the most elegant or complete, I am a very tired student who has done so much research into AI (also if you are a visual artist you can destroy AI from within if they illegally use your work, look up nightshading your artwork, writers can use tools like Ellipsus that won't let AI have your writing,)
Hi! Thank you for being respectful in this ask. I'm gonna address a few points here.
1) The issue, in my view, isn't really with the specific people filing the suits so much as it is the precedent it can set legally. Oftentimes, approaching these legal issues from the copyright law perspective can result in making copyright law stricter, which harms all artists and causes more problems than it fixes.
2) The water use of generative AI is a problem, but it's not a problem unique to generative AI. A lot of new technology is very inefficient when it comes to energy/water use/etc. That's a problem with capitalism, specifically how products get pushed out before they can be actually optimized.
Also, I can't find any sources claiming that refugees are being made to manually process the generative AI data- in fact, everything I'm seeing points to a process that is mostly done automatically through algorithms. The way that's worded plus the lack of documentation makes me wonder if perhaps you've stumbled across a conspiracy theory. If anyone has any proof that this is a thing feel free to let me know, otherwise that specific claim feels rather improbable.
3) This is the point I take the most issue with. Art is not some sort of sacred revolutionary act. Art is a tool and a mode of expression. Art can be used to further revolutionary and humanitarian causes, but it can also be used to promote fascism, capitalism, racism, misogyny, etc. There is no morality inherently associated with doing art or being an artist. Art is what we make it. And it's very dangerous to get it into your head that because someone's an artist they'll also be a political ally.
And from what I've heard, AI models have generally adapted to compensate for programs like Glaze and Nightshade. If you don't want models being trained on your art, unfortunately your best bet to reduce that likelihood is not to post on sites that AIs generally scrape (in some cases there are also toggle settings you can turn off on your account).
Again, I believe the greatest issue with generative AI is that it's harming working artists when companies, eager to cut costs, begin to use it in place of hiring artists who already struggle to get by in many cases. This issue will remain even as generative AI likely grows more optimized and might stop causing as much water waste. Fundamentally, this is a problem with capitalism, not with AI specifically. It's with corporations and bosses being greedy, not with the fact that a technology exists.
As an artist (who creates and distributes art outside of online spaces! I'm not going into the details of my personal life on here but I do a lot of traditional art as well), I am far, far more concerned about the labor rights implications of generative AI than I am about my "art style being stolen" or "the sacredness of art being destroyed" or what-have-you.
#also while I am not a fan of ai art#and definitely think the issues around it are worth discussing#I feel like sometimes there's this... obsession? with it#that lends itself to conspiracy theories#and also like. in the grand scheme of things this is not going to like. destroy humanity#we've been through this before with the crypto/nft boom#pigeon.txt#asks#anon
