Minotaur Partner Headcanons

Hellloooo I’m back, very sorry for being away but honestly I uploaded those previous two posts on a whim and came back from Spain to my tumblr having loads of notifications. SO thank you and here’s another segment of my Monster Lover Headcanons with the Minotaur! One a bit of a Greek fix lately so here we go.

Background

Minotaurs. Big beefy and sweet as all hell.

Headcanon for how they started? Easy, out Mr Original, Asterion the sweet poor lamb (BTW for those who maybe don’t know that was the Minotaur’s original name) did actual kill the sacrifices but tried to help them but they all fled in fear of him and died in the Labyrinth except one, a lovely lady I’m going to call Hemera.

She ended up staying in the labyrinth with Asterion, falling in love and determined to get them both out.

Theseus fucks along and when he’s about to kill her beloved she knocks him the fuck out, uses the yarn to get them all out, then fucks off with her hubby to the Mountains and lets everyone think Theseus killed him by leaving behind part of his broken horn.

They start a farm up in the mountains (With support from Asterions mother Persiphae and his sisters and eventually his brother in Law Dionysus who are happy Asterion is alive and happy cuz FUCK MINOS.)

Eventually they have several kids (Adorable as fuck) and a thriving mountain farm that the kiddos inherited.

As such Minotaurs are all related, and as such they often seek human partners.

Minotaurs like in mountainous regions, often protected by the God Dionysus, whose wife is all their many times great aunt who was forced to marry Theseus and tried to kill him and only gave him the yarn so her brother could kill him and use it to get out we love you Adriane <3

They grow lots of things but they are famous for wine 😉

White, red, rose, dessert. They make every type and its so fucking good.

Maybe you’re a wine coniseur, maybe you decided to go visit the farms on holiday, maybe you’re a local they trade with or a worker on the farm.

Needless to say when you catch a Minotaurs eye, you are staying for good.

Anyway, Minotaur’s are very family orientated and all work on the huge collective farms in various roles. Favorite Headcanons for airy?

i have like 10 million headcanons for him but i’ll list as many as i can from the top of my head

-hes autistic LIKE ME!!! and is specifically very autistic about music (like meee) i like to think he had a huge collection of vinyls cds cassettes etc and its all stuff from the 60s to the early 90s. no doubt he had a bunch of posters for his favorite bands and musicians too. and hes awesome on the guitar, great rhythm guitarist… its a shame he couldn’t make his talent a profession like he once dreamed of doing. oh well, at least the number 1 perk of trucking is that its peaceful and you dont really have to interact with many people! plus trucks have radios, and cd players, so airy would often bring along a few albums to listen to as he drove those long days and nights.

-hes also got a knack for aquatic creatures (LIKE ME) of course, being a literal fish monster himself (cool fact my airy design is like actually a fish monster he can breathe underwater and everything and his limbs are covered in fish scales) airy loves fish both as friends and food. hes particularly fond of freshwater fish, which makes sense considering the fact he grew up around the swamps of louisiana (yes im making him louisianan Like Me shaddap) hes also fond of those fucked up looking deep sea creatures, just so fascinating. i think airy liked to do a little fishing in his spare time. And hes awesome at cooking em but fair warning for those with a low spice tolerance… he loves spicy food btw (like meeeee)

-when airy was in the forest, he kept a log of his thoughts on the computer, in an attempt to hopefully give himself whatever clarity he could. the notes ranged from all brief, to desperate, to hopeless, to spiraling, to borderline dadaist poetry? to insanity, to denial, to whatever, really i think his mind was obviously all over the place on a daily basis. things must have been pretty loud for him, that cassette player was probably one of the only things keeping him together, before he numbed himself n all, which is around the time he ceased writing these notes as he saw no point in doing so.

-ok enough about him suffering we’ll get back to that later Airy’s favorite drink is ginger ale i mean look at that guy and tell me he doesnt fw ginger ale or dr pepper are you kidding me. he can have dr pepper as a little treat (too much soda is bad for anyone especially if youre an old feller like airy) speaking of little treats i like to think he has an insatiable sweet tooth LIKE MEEEE and his favorite treaaats are pumpkin pie, macarons and practically anything chocolate he loves chocolate (im like allergic to not projecting onto my favorite characters if you couldnt tell) maybe airy knows how to bake a little bit i mean he is an object show host after all

-this is oddly specific but airy is a chronic pain warrior #JUSTLIKEME so when he was in the forest he’d make like home made heating pads by wetting a glob of moss and putting it against his face while he had his flame on (he sometimes put it on a plank over a bonfire if he felt like it) this was a bit tricky when he broke his face but im sure he managed he always manages (kinda) (relatively speaking)

-well anyway we’re back to the forest and i just mentioned his broken face So you know how he disappeared for seven months after he did that lol well what if it was because the pain and shock from that incident evoked the long lost clarity he’d been so stubbornly avoiding in order to cling on to his meaningless, fallacious escapism which triggered him and sent him into a state of agonizing self consciousness, reminding him of his earthly death, how he used to be Someone, and how he essentially let himself rot into what is now an empty shell of who he once was. after so many years, the first reflection he saw of himself was seen in something broken; shards of glass, of which he couldn’t stand to look at… as there is nothing comparable to the pain of revelation, the burden of truth after having been so lost and festered into the stagnant waters that surround you. he felt he had no choice, he disposed of the shards into the nearby stream. those seven months were not just a matter of physically healing, but as a means to losing himself all over again.

-Aaaanyway i think airy had a cat at some point in his life i think we can all agree hes a cat person right!!! he had a tortoiseshell kitty named goose and he loved her very much. idk why he named her goose he probably just thought it was funny to name an animal after a different animal.

-OH YEAH lemme bring amelia into this listen i am such a huge fan of the theory of airy being related to amelia so i like to think hes her uncle!! when amelia was little she’d stay over at airy’s house while her parents were away and he’d teach her stuff like how to fish, how to ward off snakes, how to kayak, all that jazz cuz he was an awesome uncle. she was kinda like an actual daughter to him. and amelia was so fond of sunny weather as a child, one dayy at airy’s house she had to stay inside because it was too rainy, so she occupied herself by drawing a little picture of the way she wished earth was; always sunny, sky always blue, grass always green, huh! the way she drew that grass as individual little triangles is all too familiar is it not…

okey dokey! i just finished the fallout show! some Thoughts under the read more

tl:dr, the (bethesda) fallout vibes were definitely there. i liked it as a show on its own merits but as a part of the series canon... i'm mad, and that anger is kind of overriding the little i liked about it. overall maybe 2.5/5 stars and im being generous

things i liked:

visually, it's stunning - i could see scenes already being made into gifsets - the color grading is pretty good; even in dark scenes i could see and understand what was happening

the sets are soooo good!! costume design was alright too

title cards were fun and cute

they did some interesting stuff with the cultures of both vault 33 and the brotherhood of steel

they used the sound effects from the games :)

i liked the wastelanders!!! big npc and random encounter energy. i kind of want a whole show of just them. for example i love the marketplace and settlement in filly; it feels very lived in

the background characters weren't just young thin able-bodied conventionally attractive white people :) there's so many elders, which i loved!! ma june and barv were cool. i love gruff old lesbians

lucy!!! she was already kind of weird and a little off-putting even in vault 33 ("what's your sperm count" as an opener to the husband she was just arranged married to is WILD) and i like that. she's sweet and bullheaded and surprisingly competent :)

maximus is kind of an ass, but is also a pathetic nerd and brotherhood dickrider who actually doesn't really know anything. kind of a girlfailure

the ghoul was pretty cool too!! i liked him, though more for his prewar story than the one he has post-apocalypse

lucy's brother norman kinda grew on me. "i lack enthusiasm for every job that i do here" so relateable. also short king <3

to summarize: it came out strong! and stumbled hard falling face fucking first at the finish line. i would have liked it a lot more if it did not shit on the west coast as much as it did. because what the FUCK. if it was set literally anywhere else and left the ncr alone i would have liked it more, because on its own, as a self-contained story, divorced from the rest of the fallout series canon, it's not bad!!! it's fun, there's some good bits, it has the ~vibes~ but - and this is a big but - i don't know what it's trying to say. it's all very surface level and the very vague themes i picked up on are not really reiterated in the plot

it's like... the bits that make it fallout are there. vaults. the brotherhood. ghouls. a dog named dogmeat. but there's something lacking. it's like your usual sci-fi post-apocalypse show with a fallout veneer. idk. i like it for what it is but also i hate it for what it's emblematic of. that's all

this ask is so old I'm so sorry :') it took me a while to actually sit down and organize my brain but YES REMARY!!! they are so near and dear to my heart... the ultimate popular x loser hallmark movie romance, honestly.

the way i interpret Mary is pretty simple compared to other characters. she's just so... normal. like genuinely. her childhood was normal, her parents were normal, she may be a muggleborn, but it wasn't a huge deal in her family. she gets good grades, she has a lot of friends, she's just a typical teenage girl in the 70s. which is why it shocks everybody when news gets out that she likes Remus, a guy who is very much not normal.

Remus' life is honestly such an utter dumpster fire that i think he really cherishes his time with Mary. at first, he, of course, thinks she's joking. who could love a werewolf, he's such a monster, he doesn't deserve good things, yada yada yada. but after a series of tender moments that show how earnest her feelings are, he kinda lets himself relax. let's himself have this one good, totally normal thing. which i think is why i like them so much? they're just very calm in my brain, in a way so many marauders ships just aren't or can't be. they don't fight, they don't hurt each other, there's no drama.

they really are straight out of movie. they're a sweet christmas love story, right person but not enough time. even during the war, i can't picture their relationship turning into this toxic, unbearable thing. it's definitely not sunshine and rainbows because war literally never is, but they maintain that sense of calm and peace and normacly that Mary naturally brings with her presence. they have their routines (Mary starts an internship at st. mungos, to be a healer for the Order. and i imagine Remus gets multiple odd jobs aswell as going on missions here and there), and theres just an air of serenity around them. no one has to worry about the stability of their relationship because there's no secrets or suspicions. when news of the traitor is shared, literally nobody looks at them except for Sirius (if we think of this in a canon compliant sense anyway)

but of course, good things can't last forever. and i really emphasized Mary's normalcy at the beginning of this because when the war is finally over, i don't think she can deal with any of it. All of her friends are dead, one of them is a traitor, Harry was taken away, and she's traumatized. Remus had trauma already, he knows what this feels like. it doesn't *ruin* him. but this is new for Mary, she doesn't know what to do with the emptiness and pain, and she doesn't know how to talk about it. she wasn't built for this. and like many survivors of trauma, she just wants to go back to when she was typical girl next door Mary Macdonald. i think we know what happens next 😕

i heavily subscribe to the Mary obliviating herself hc. it's tragic, it's painful, and when considering remary, it's especially heartbreaking because she wasn't murdered. she chose to leave Remus. and he can never get closure because she simply doesn't remember him. you can't confront a person who doesn't exist anymore, can you? the Mary he knew and loved is pretty much gone.

i imagine he tries to make it work, get close to her again, and try to get her to remember, but in the end, he hurts more than he helps her. and he's forced to just let her go. she moves on, thinking she's a muggle, and i think he just... tries not to kill himself too fall off the face of the Earth.

Mac has long brown hair that kinda looks like Persephones hairdo pre-underworld, yellow and white based clothes, two green eyes, and oh yeah white wings, all weapons kinda float on her back. Very nice, kind, and sweet. More of Hallyday, joyous, flowers and rainbow vibe game

Mac is trapped on the mortal world, raised by Persephone, because that curse is like the opposite for her, she can't live in the underworld, lives in Persephones old farm

Trained by Chiron, taking Skelemesus(how do you spell??) Role. Also Triptolemus is here, mortal turned God by Demeter during Persephones disappearance, and Cyrene, amazing Hunter and Shepherd princess/queen turned Naiad, lover of Apollo and Ares too

Plot: The Primordal gods and Titans are awaking, aka they were all, mostly, asleep before this and will wake up and choose violence

Mainly Gaia, who's upset about the Titan things. The Olympians can't help cause they gotta deal with Typhon, so Mac gets help from minor gods and some Titans- Hebe, fun cus, Asclepius, bless his soul, Triton, nervous cus, Iris, gossip girl/hermes job, Nike, probably challenges you like Nem in Hades 2, Tyche, the IDK, Eros, seductive but is married(put shoulerd guards because of THE INCIDENT), Psyche, distant, loss vibe, but a sweetheart, Aeolus, laying down on a couch looking cloud, baby girl, Prometheus, holds tourch thats all I ask for, Themis, blindfold looking straight at you with hands on sword in the ground, stoic.... probably others, comment below

For Nyx kids this time around, basically everyone's who left, but primarily Phil(Philotes) Friendship Incarnate, the bestie who's like Hypnos, never met him though, she doesn't hang out with her other family, except Hemera! Also here, like the opposite Nyx, kinda duh Day Incarnate, also you wake Aither, Light Incarnate, same vibe as giddy Hypnos kinda. But then gets the worst Nyx kids, Oizys, Distress Incarnate, pessimism pro, Momus, Satire Incarnate, ridicules you for everything, the worse, more annoying Hypnos greeter, Dolos and Apate, Fraud and Deceit Incarnate, makes your job harder and kills you half the time, Geras, grumpy old man, anddddd Achlys, Misery Incarnate, who I make Nyx AND Erebus kid because the Chaos and Nyx kid might be too weird... also Asleep Primordal... but awakes, very much like Charon, they are best friends, enemies, and closest siblings, both taught by Erebus and hisses/growls to speak, also will kill you UNLESSS you offer her stuff, dumb enough to fight Charon... but he's also dumb enough to fight her so...

Also Erebus is here, who I like to say is all their dad because I love him, defiantly loving father who's been denied fatherhood too many times

Wake during the fight with Tartarus, who also wakes. They have beef. Fought each other and put eachother to sleep, on the day Eris was born, when the Twins were barely a year old(the order is different for reasons). Basically Erebus is gonna visist his entire family, also favors Charon because he's the first kid who he could ACTUALLY RAISE- looks at Hemera, Aither, and the Fates- let's not talk about Moros, Nemesis, Geras, Phil, Hypnos, Than, Eris, and Momus

Also others you awake- Oceanus, Pontus, Ananke, Astreaus, Uranus(maybe), Gaia, and other primordals/Titans prob, comment below for ideas

Other characters: Hippolytus, hates his dad(Theseus) loves Artemis(as in a Motherly figure/best friend, depending on how you see em) also loves his actually mom, Jason and Perseus hanging out together(congrats if ya got that reference), Atalanta, challenge you in everything and likes to berate Jason, Hippolyta, hates her Ex loves her son, Otrera, person you fight because why not?, Keto(Ceto) goddess of Sea Monsters, person you fight because I want that design, Midas, like takes Charons job for most of the game, also Pasithea, with children, help her get to Hypnos, others I don't know GIVE IDEAS

Weapons: main Scythe, because yes, at one point gets dual Swords, one is Aspect of Erebus, because yes, throwing knives, Aspect of Oizys, idk feels right, some type of spear thing, Aspect of Iris and Nike for those, whip? Aspect of Megeara because I'm funny, shields, either Aspect of Heracles or Achlys, and one for Perseus and Athena, mirror shield plus Medusa head one, Hammer/Mace, a Hypnos Ascpet it's funny guys, probably Momus too, and I don't know... that's all I got

For Romance options, I feel like Phil because she's very like Mac, Oizys for that Nemesis/Melinoe type, maybe an Iris one? She shows up in person eventually after you get her fountain, and if you wanna be REALLY funny, Meg or Than depending what ya chose for the first game

Finally, you get a big quest known as Phil's Tea Party, basically everytime you god a minor god or Nyx kid to join her Tea Party, at the end get the whole family, please, Phil loves her family despite them not loving her

How I feel about this character

Somehow he's not my favorite character but I still like him for his kindness. The only monster to not kill you in any circumstances - that is so telling of him. I have never played Undertale but if I did completing genocide route would be a pain.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Nobody probably. I just don't feel like there's a character that is compatible with Papyrus. Undyne could potentially be his pair but for me they are more like friends/mentor and mentee.

I don't really have something truly unpopular, but the fact that he's not among my most favorite characters may appear surprising. Other than that... I've heard that he was too babied by the fandom, so maybe that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I would like to see his reaction to us killing Sans. Would he be as forgiving, would he let it slide or would he retaliate? There are probably thousands AUs about this but I don't know them.

Also he kinda befriended Flowey, so maybe in the true pacifist route he could help him heal? Just my wishful thinking

How I feel about this character

He's not my favorite (and I don't like any fllormaster as much as any participant) but I kinda like him. For me it's understandable why he's so malicious and him being unable to experience positive emotions at all makes me kinda forgive him for... everything... The guy couldn't control it, he was programmed to be jealous and cruel. He was a bad person (doll?), but how could he be good? When he understood his misdeeds, he regretted everything. So like his fate is tragic. I'm not really angry at his antics (even if they were absolutely terrible like wearing dead people's clothes), that's how he was created. Not to mention Sei deal. #Gashu what have you done

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Once again, nobody. I don't feel like he has any normal bonds with people. Safalin is probably a lot older (how mentally old is he actually? Maybe adult but who knows) and even if not she's more of a scientist while he's experiment. Not healthy and he deserves better

Him and Kai ultimate bros. Thinking about Sei hurts but imagine that they lived though that hell together and betrayed Asunaro and saved everyone and were happy ever after? I think Sei would still feel inferior to Kai but it could be fixed. It could be...

Also him and Safalin as friends/coworkers. It's so funny to see how he bosses Safalin around. I was sorry for her but after Rio Laizer event nope Ranger deserved that. But overall they were an entertaining duo

I don't really have one I suppose. Maybe that I don't think he could be decent and his actions weren't fully his own? The whole theme of responsibility is really hard to think about because I don't want to shift it from him but maybe it's more of Gashu's decision to make his so negative. He was a tool, a tool with consciousness. Like many people in the world, he was predetermined to act malicious by the circumstances. Was he really in charge of his actions? I don't know. I just know that it's tragic

I'm really curious how he would act if Kai survived to see him. It wouldn't be sweet family reunion for sure. I think Ranger would guilt trip Kai a lot, maybe being the most horrible to him in particular because that's the "true" son of his creator. But in the end, maybe Rio Laizer would be comforted by Kai. Just like with Sei...

Miss Maple

How I feel about this character

I don't think about her often but I remember how I was really sorry for her situation. Now I'm a bit neutral (still more on the liking side), but there was time when I liked her a lot. Girl destined to love a horrible person, coded to act unhinged, be a tool, an element of the gameplay. Never being able to be herself... Almost. I'm beginning to remember the parts when she talked with Keiji, Mai and Q-taro, those were my favorite moments. She deserves so much better and I admire how she genuinely liked our participants and tried to help out.

Again nobody... The closest person is probably Mai because they have chemistry and can understand each other. Mai really cared about Maple, so maybe it could be mutual (once I said that I thought Maple had mentality of a child due to Asunaro meddling so it's not cool to ship her with anyone but I don't know anymore, I need to revise my thoughts)

Actually, I used to ship her with Shin. Both were victims of Midori, trusting the latter too much and unable to disobey him (well, that's my assumption about Shin's relationship with Midori, but I think that's probable). Shin even notes that they share some similarities. And I just like vibes. Somewhere in my AUs there are characters inspired by them and they are a couple

Mai strikes again! I think they would make perfect bff duo. Them shopping, them cooking, them chatting... I sense potential

Also, Kai. Imagine emotional Maple and our stoic homemaker. I think they could balance each other out. Plus, both had experience with Asunaro and were used as pawns. Maybe they could heal by sharing their common fears to each other

I was a bit conflicted about her when she began talking about all those majority rules. I know she loved Midori but it felt a bit bad that she kinda pushed the whole winning thing onto Sara and Ranmaru. Logic route would still have drama nevertheless but if Maple hadn't mentioned victory... I feel like she is a tiny bit responsible for the outcome.

I want Maple backstory. Somewhere in deleted scenes it was mentioned that she was based on the real girl that agreed to being tested on because she loved Midori (citation needed, I don't remember the details). I'd really like to know more about her.

Also, imagine having cooking competition with Kai and Mai in ytts. Or them having to defeat the final boss (her) with the power of yumminess.

Okay, so as I said yesterday, I ended up having a pretty good time with Godzilla X Kong. It's very Showa in it's tone, complete with all sorts of goofy stuff. Probably the funniest movie in the Monsterverse so far.

First of all, the pacing's pretty fast and quite a lot happens. Like, we get a lot of Kong stuff, he's pretty much the protagonist and the main plot revolves around him looking for and finding others of his kind, then noticing that they're in a bit of trouble, and well, doing something about it.

The Humans were rather enjoyable this time round. I think over time Legendary's just gotten way better at writing their human characters. New human Trapper is pretty awesome, beimng this Steve Irwinny crazy-awesome guy, and I think Bernie's come out much more likeable. Less of the paranoid conspiracy nut and more of a guy who just really wants to see the Hollow Earth.

I really like how Jia's story ended up coming full circle, with her almost confirming that psychic powers are a thing in Godzilla again. Then she gets to find other members of the Iwi people in Hollow Earth, and kinda becomes like a Mothra priestess? I wonder if they'll be anywhere further she goes in the future, but if not it's a really cool ending for the character.

Suko ended up being a suprisingly engaging character, starting out pretty antagonistic at first, but gradually warming up to Kong as the story continues. His character, particularly his perpetual nervousness, starts making so much more sense when you're shown what his home is like. He ends up being an MVP in the final fight too, which is kinda awesome.

Speaking of which, the introduction of Scar King is absolutely fantastic. Like, everything about the scene with the miners/slaves up to actually seeing the guy himself tells you we're dealing with a proper bastard. And Kong ain't gonna stand for any of that crap.

I didn't care much for Scar King before the movie...Now I kinda wish they didn't kill him off so soon. Dude's very much a love-to-hate kind of character with a neat fighting style, and he probably could have worked as a recurring villain (maybe slinking off back to Hollow Earth to find new ancient evils to awaken and weaponize, which would be an easy way for a few old monsters to be brought back. Gigan and Megalon, perhaps?).

Then for new characters we have Shimo. And while we don't get much of her (especially not when she's allowed to act of her own volition), what we do have is neat. She's definitely gonna be a fan favourite for the Monsterverse Original creatures. It's kinda funny how I think many people were expecting this (literally) cold-hearted villain/lackey, but instead we got a mild-natured woobie.

I really hope Shimo gets to be in a comic or a future movie, she's got a lot of potential now that she's free.

Godzilla is here too, being the angry jerk we all know and love. Honestly though, I feel like the "Godzilla needs to power up" thing is probably gonna end up being more foreshadowing for a future movie, since I dunno if he really needed to power-up to fight a balding orangutan who wields the power of slavery (you could argue Shimo was the real threat, she almost got him in the anti-gravity fight if it wasn't for Mothra).

I wish the whole team up thing lasted a little bit longer, but it was hella fun what we got. Hope this opens up the possibility of Godzilla fighting alongside his allies more often.

Rip Tiamat she did nothing wrong.

Oh yeah, and Mothra. Her involvement in the plot is very short, but sweet, telling Godzilla to cut it out for five minutes then helping out in the first half of the final fight. It's nice to see her again. Now we just need Rodan to make a comeback.

Lastly, the fights in this movie are an absolute delight to watch, especially the hilarious pyramid fight (that's like, peak Showa antics) and both parts of the final fight.

The first half with the zero-gravity is one of the most fun and unique ideas for a kaiju fight, getting even better when the humans get to help out (by first activating the gravity, then Trapper fires a Chekov's Gun with these bird things that produce and electrical field to drive off Scar King's minions).

The second half on the surface is pure catharsis, seeing Scar King finally get his comeuppance thanks to some quick thinking (and a bit of luck) from Kong and Suko, freeing Shimo so she can put her abuser (again quite literally) on ice, ending his reign of terror for good. I really love that trope where an abuser is ultimately finished off by their victims.

Overall, Godzilla X Kong is peak cinema. I love the Monsterverse, and although the wilder tone isn't for everyone, I had a great time, and would recommend. There's a ton of interesting possibities for the future too, with Kong's ....New Empire and all.

Your fic tyftv is so fucking awesome to read! I've been reading your fics instead of studying for my exams. I'm a sucker for characters who are complete monsters slowly learning how to feel more human and eventually falling in love with someone. Lute fits that category perfectly. I read the question about how you struggled with turning Adam's character from Hazbin Hotel Season 1 into who is now in your tyftv fic. The only moment in season 1 before the last episode that I noticed Lute acting differently around Adam was episode 6. When Lute and Adam were enjoying their day walking together before they noticed Charlie and Vaggie passing by. That little smile on Lute's face, I was surprised she looked so calm and genuinely happy to being around Adam when they are off duty. Adam actually brings out a positive side to Lute that no one else can. Please explain how you transformed Lute from a heartless murderous psychopath into a beautiful angel who fell in love with the first human? I need to know the details of how you evolved Lute's character in your fic, because their was so little of Lute's character growth from the first season.

Also I don't mind you giving a long extended answer, I read so many books already. I got nothing but time to feed my hungry brain.

Playing with Lute's character has been a blast. We didn't have a lot to go off with her either. I suppose I have a similar mindset to you: bad guys and gals are still capable of love, right?

Butttt what if, for our favourite Lieutenant, she thought that letting one's guard down was weak?

Looking at Lute's character canonically, we know that she can't stand those who she considers weak. I kinda took that idea and applied it to her romantic feelings too: why bother letting people in when they're inevitably going to hurt you? That's weak.

I kinda took that mindset and then mixed it with the idea of her being this hardworking, no-nonsense woman who just wants to do her job but her lazy, dickhead boss makes that difficult. So, what does she do? She goes above his head, therefore creating the chain reaction of events that leads to where the fic stands today.

One of the things I really enjoyed with Lute's character too was giving her these normal little traits, like enjoying a bath or reading cheesy romance novels. I feel like they make her a touch more...relateable, maybe? Like, "oh, she's this badass murder angel, but at the end of the day she just wants to relax in the tub and read something light-hearted with a glass of wine and just switch off".

Another characteristic I kinda gave her (which I do think we see very small glimpses of in the show) was this level of impulsivity without thinking about the consequences of her actions. We see it I think for the first time when she launches herself at Adam for entering her apartment (girl, tackling your boss in nothing but a towel was never going to end well, surely you could have at least done what normal people to do and yell at him to get out), and then during other points of the fic, too.

So, she's got this wall up which inadverdently means that Adam starts poking at her and trying to break her down—and to his credit, he does, but not in the way he probably initially thought. Because, the thing is, he starts showing signs that he's actually not all that bad of a dude—especially once he starts caring for her. And soon, she realises it's actually a really nice feeling to let people in and have them care about you and want you. Slowly, slowly, she lets that guard down, until she's ready to let him in completely.

And then we find out she's a virgin.

I debated weaving this detail into the fic beforehand, but ultimately decided against it. Why? Well, when Lute said she didn’t care that she was a virgin, she meant it. She never wanted to get close to anybody before, so there was no desire to have sex before the events of the fic. I mean, obviously that didn’t mean she lacked a sex drive (side note—you know what’s really fucking daunting? Writing smut for the first time and it’s a masturbation scene. Jesus Christ it’s ten thousand times easier to write foreplay/sex than masturbation, let me tell you).

Anyway, I left it out because it wasn’t a big deal to Lute, therefore it wasn’t something she reflected on. But, the girl knows what she wants, and I really enjoyed exploring what that first time was like for her.

The fact that's it's implied that they dragged Ashura to the fairy realm to kill him, that it took some kind of sacrifice on their end for either a fairy to take a human into the fey realm or to break the contract. Just the fact that its shrouded in mystery, despite having details on it.

why would Ashura destroy the info on fairies, even before his death, as if he knew something about fairies that he didn't want other's to know and deliberately sabotaged the chances for his descendants to contract with fairies.

The fairy world politics and how all fairies, not just Uchiha learned from this incident.

Just like Madara's whole vibe. He's just like this set of contradictions. Prideful yet honest, ruthless but sympathetic, inexperienced but powerful and like the subtle mystery of why he was held back by his family despite being so powerful.

and of course the star of the show Hashirama. I love the fact that you did an adult take on the character, since so many Hashimada have their first meeting as children. The fact that they're both adults with experience and burdens make their relationship so much more meaningful since it's less of children having fun, but rather adults knowing the risks of their relationships but doing it anyways. He's older and more jaded but still has hope for the world. Not in a blindly optimistic way, he'll do what it takes to achieve his goal, but he doesn't relish the bloodshed.

I mean I just happy wiggles, I just don't know what too say it's just so incredible and amazing and I love it so much!

As I am now 30 and apparently an Actual Adult and Twitter is exploding even more, I figured that before I get back to the last bit of ArtFight I'd do some Dolly Introductions because most of my characters exist in the form of very expensive, very large dolls rather than the far cheaper "just draw them" option.

These are just the ones who are important in some way in the big ol' thing I have going on, there are MORE DOLLS. So many more dolls.

1. Callum Shelley - Dollshe David Kuncci - the man who made Frankie and his siblings. Married to Science and Science only; he's also very gay and very awkward, and so decided that his desire to be a father could only really be achieved through sewing a ton of bodies together and reanimating it using science and Arcane Shit. He's technically on the run, as Frankie was kinda made in a lab that was meant to be looking into ways to improve transplants and other slightly theoretical ideas rather than Maybe Magic Could Help Me Have A Child, but he's managed to embed himself into Harlan's weird little underworld and so they don't have to jump ship at a moment's notice anymore. He now lives in London, in one of the many buildings owned by the Twins- Harlan wrangled that, as it would be useful to have an actual doctor on standby, right?

2. Franklin "Frankie" Shelley - Ringdoll Frankenstein 2013 - Frankenstein's Monster if he was a mid-20s Horrorpunk Dirtbag with a heart of gold. Very family-oriented- it was him and his dad for a few years just after he was made and they're very close. Had a few wobbly times as he came to terms with Being A Bunch Of Corpse Parts and therefore not really being able to do stuff, but now they have a little niche he's having a good time. Would literally die for-

3. Poppi - Aimerai Scraps - a ragdoll that was brought to life via some fairly arcane shit. A literal cinnamonbun angel. Frankie's other half, and generally makes sure that Callum doesn't accidentally forget to eat while he's working on stuff. As she can't have children (she literally has no internal organs), she's also involved herself heavily in looking after Frankie's siblings.

4. Evelyn Shelley - Sugarble Night Miriam - Frankie's "little sister". She's about six and she's always going to be about six- she's a very sweet little kid, loves dolls and dressing up. She has that "Family Princess" confidence, and can often be found "making Frankie Pretty".

5. Valentine Shelley- 5StarDoll Aiden - Frankie's "little brother". Although he's technically younger than Evelyn, he's probably more akin to a 7/8 year old. He was made as a playmate for Evelyn as she was getting pretty lonely. Callum had honed his technique a little, hence Val not literally being blue like his siblings. 6. Magdalen - Doll Chateau Oort -very old vampire. She's the tactician; although she's very powerful, she tends to direct her brother rather than get her hands dirty. She talks the most of the twins, but even that's not much. The twins function almost as one person, and are rarely far from each other.

7. Alasdair - Doll Chateau Cyril - also a very old vampire. He's Magdalen's muscle- if something threatened them, he'd be the one actually dealing with it. He barely speaks, but when he does it's generally something very important. The twins live in Highgate and do not appreciate any link between them and that Highgate Vampire business. Their home is a massive Victorian thing that has some minor glamours so it's not considered "the clearly haunted house".

8. Harlan Silver - Ringdoll K -puts the Whore in Victorian, he's here representing the Pansexual Slut Vampires. He's considered the "oldest son" to Magdalen and Alasdair, but his function is less as a child and more as their connection to the outside world. He brokers deals and access to the twins, sources... food for them if they don't feel like hunting and has shown them how to connect to the wifi about 5 billion times. He lives in a basement flat in London that would make any antiques dealer jealous. He also kinda has a... thing... with Callum, but it's less emotion and more mutual benefit.

9. Seraphine - Doll In Mind Marcellina - the precious baby daughter in the vampire family. She was brought to them by Harlan as a toddler in the late 1800s, and they have raised her the way they were raised. She is doted upon absolutely- however she's not as odd as the twins, mostly because Harlan has done his best to expose her to humanity and help her be as well-adjusted as an immortal creature can be. She's currently going through Vampire Puberty so she's spending a lot of time with Harlan because there's nothing more frustrating than having a teenage mood swing in front of the twins.

10. Siddiq "Sid" Shah and Noa Kim - Universedoll Tsukimi and iDoll Arnoah - long-term schoolfriends who grew up in the London Borough of Camden. They were both on the 'social misfit' side of things, and spent a lot of their time trading Stephen King paperbacks and watching crappy horror films, until they found a book at a car boot sale that was apparently an actual Grimoire of spells- and then their interest in witchcraft took off, and all that time speaking one language at home and another at school really helps when finding rituals that work. They describe their magic as "kinda like one of those buffet restaurants that serves, uh, everything? Like you can get pizza, curry and fish and chips if you want, but instead of getting food poisoning, you get results."

The two fell onto Harlan's radar fairly quickly because he's a nosy pest that lives pretty much opposite the little park where they do business. He's now got them "in" with the twins, and they're also the ones who managed to create Poppi. They're now pretty good friends with Frankie and Poppi, and are working on some Glamour spells because Frankie would really love to go to a gig at some point. Or even just to Nando's.

They often find themselves helping Callum, but mostly because he's a scientist at heart and although he's used magic before, he doesn't really... get it. They're also both on the twins' payroll, because witches are also very useful, and not as common as they used to be.

a woman returns to her hometown after becoming estranged from her teenage daughter, to work as a palm reader and live at a motel. she reunites with a highschool boyfriend, who has become a sombre man who's been grieving the disappearance of his baby son and the subsequent suicide of his wife for the past six years.

the woman agrees to help the man look for his missing son and their relationship is re-kindled, although he seems kind of weird. for a while she entertains all sorts of paranoid ideas of whether the missing boy is even alive anymore, that perhaps his mother or even his father killed him -- and is thoroughly surprised when one day the boy simply appears as if he was never missing in the first place. she soon realises there's something deeply fucked up about the boy, though.

➕ the main reason i kept reading, other than the sunk cost fallacy of "well i only have 5 hours left so could as well finish. only 3 hours left. just one hour jfc i can do this", was that there's uh…. aquatic?? horror? in here that was pretty entertaining to me. some goodreads reviews called it southern salt-water gothic. i like water-related horror and have no explanation why

➖ what a bunch of crazy ass nonsense. i went in thinking this would be a mystery about the missing boy but he appears like half way through. this book has no plot, there's no real story structure, no real mystery to solve. random things just happen. the PoV is mostly the woman but jumps to the man a couple times and both ramble on and on about the most pointless shit. nothing much happens here, the actual events probably took about an hour of this 8-hour book and the rest is the two main characters being fucking delirious, it was very hard to follow at times. i also have zero interest in or drive towards parental love-themed stories so there's that

➖ this reads like the script of a B movie. the "horror" was rather silly, and the body horror is rendered completely pointless by the main character being so unfazed by any of it. and i did pick this up for having been on a list of recommended horror… yeaaaah.

➖ i'm just gonna spoil shit because i don't care, this isn't a good book so you shouldn't read it anyway: so this woman has a daughter, feels sad that she's chosen to live with her father, is happy that she can meet her once a week or something at least. then some eldritch horror creature pretending to be a child she first heard about approximately 2 days ago appears and she's like omg!! must protecc!! at all costs!!! and the monster child attacks her real daughter and tries to like, bite her head off, and the mother is like: aww :( don't do that :( i love u :( sweet child!! and takes the boy and. leaves. and uuhh. yeah alright. so that's how many shits she gave about her daughter actually??? i truly don't understand what this story is trying to say. and what the fuck is a "peeler"???? it doesn't mean anythiiiingggg

thoughts on sweet home season 2 (spoilers!!)

this is gonna sound whiney but that's just because i love this show a lot and my expectations were really high

the pacing this season was so bad imo like the first two or three episodes were so intense, everything was important and there was no time to get over the last thing that happened, but when it got to the episodes that were mostly about the camp/bunker/whatever it got so boring. i didn't care about any of those people because they were either completely flat or they just didn't really have room in the story to make sense or be interesting. except junil my boy who was done SO wrong

hyunsu just fucked off for most of the season? the main character of the series? the best guy? i don't know if this was because of a schedule conflict w song kang or whatever and i don't care

i actually completely forgot about ms. im (?) until i was just looking at the cast to check something. ??? what ever happened to her after she just appeared naked and slimy. there are so many things like that that they just threw in and then never spoke of again

the very end of the season seemed like it was trying to throw two big plot twists at us but it was stuff we already knew? like it was pretty obvious? but they were still like :o the slime monster that takes people's bodies was sangwon the whole time!!! and the lava ceiling monster was eunhyuk!!!!! like yeah. lol. idk it just seemed anticlimactic i mean it was cool to actually see eunhyuk but it wasn't a surprise like it seemed like it was meant to be

speaking of eunhyuk though i am excited because tbh i didn't like him in s1 and i didn't like eunyu either but eunyu was a lot more interesting in s2, so hopefully he'll be better in s3

eta i forgot to complain about netflix. i am fully a hypocrite bc i really love this bundle of shows that are kind of connected - squid game, alice in borderland, sweet home, all of us are dead, maybe hellbound too - but something i like about kdramas is that the story is almost always intended to be told in one season, and that often requires good storytelling. netflix doesn't care about this, it feels like they're just throwing stuff at the wall and whatever sticks makes it to s2 or s3 or whatever until they get bored and cancel it. it's bad writing and it's disrespectful to the people who actually enjoy the story. it's kind of like, idk, releasing video games that aren't finished but sure are expensive. i don't think it's too much to ask for them to have a plan before they start a series

what i love about them is the fact that they can work in canon and fanon. not many ships could canonically work, but afterdeath can

my friend once asked me to explain their dynamic so i'm sharing this here, too.

canon: their dynamic in canon would be hard because of reapers' personal vow to never hesitate killing someone, so i think their first meetings were definitely them fighting. reaper seeing geno as someone who could eventually turn into something like chara, and geno knows what reaper is and is far too determined to die. geno probably fell for reaper first - after things calmed down and reaper learned that no, geno isn't actually dead - and he would spend his time trying to ignore it, but also he's kinda desperate for the company. reaper, however, would use geno as a way to escape responsibility, like he did with life, but he'd kinda talk down to geno because geno is mortal. their relationship would be toxic at first, i think. they have completely different morals and reaper thinks mortals are beneath him. he'd probably offend geno many times. but geno honestly doesn't take it. he'd call reaper out, and reaper would reflect, and as the relationship goes on, communication (mostly from geno, i think) would help the relationship get healthier and soon they'd be, like, sickeningly sweet. geno being patient with reapers touch issues, and reaper helping geno cope with his brothers death.

even after geno gets out of the save screen and they can't touch each other anymore, they'd cuddle under separate blankets, and reaper would leave soft kisses on genos scarf, because of how much the scarf means to geno it'd be the most intimate thing he can do.

fanon: reaper stumbles across geno and is immediately smitten. there's something about the fact that geno doesn't care who he's talking to, and how confident he is in everything he does, that makes reaper drawn to him. at first he's not sure how he's drawn to geno, and he sees it as kinda a game. he'll kill geno eventually. or, that's what he tells himself. but after a while he finds himself stumbling over his own feet and honestly being kind of a disaster while trying to impress geno, and geno - despite pretending like he doesn't care - finds it downright adorable. however, when geno finally admits he likes reaper back, reapers confidence skyrockets. once he doesn't have to stress about doing smth wrong anymore, loving geno comes naturally. reaper is very physical, always trying to find times when they can cuddle or hold hands, and always sneaking kisses. geno acts annoyed, but sometimes he does it back. they like to tease each other.

similarities: honestly, either way they're so devoted. their favorite activity is to do anything with each other. sitting in silence, listening to the soft thrum of magic that shows the other is alive. that shows the other is there for them no matter what. it doesn't matter what they're doing as long as they're doing it together. they fit together like a puzzle, and if soulmates don't exist then they're the closest thing you can get. geno is firm and determined, which helps reaper when he's feeling like nothing matters anymore, and how his whole life was spent being seen as the monster under the bed in fairy tales, because geno can tell reaper how much reaper matters with such confidence that there's nothing reaper could say to refute it.

and reaper is soft and understanding (despite also being unable to read a room and sometimes says things that are not appropriate for the situation) because he's seen everything, and that helps with genos anger and frustration at the world and how cruel life is, because he can quietly pull geno into bed and just listen. he knows geno doesn't need to hear anything, he just needs someone to hear him. and reaper is willing to listen. he's a patient god...RAAAHHHHHHI LOVE THEM AJHRHSJHSHDJKFIKGKG

thinking bout afterdeath. how they are the fandom’s most collectively agreed upon ship. people fight over errorink and cream but not them. afterdeath just reigns supreme and it’s literally because they are just purely in love. they are devoted. it’s death x the one guy he can touch. they are together in every universe. they hold dedication and adoration for each other in a way that not a lot of utmv ships have and im here for it. they love each other so very much. and they’re calm with it. they’re not toxic they don’t fight. outside forces make the angst but through it all they love each other so so so much and it’s gonna kill me one day
