Not to keep reliving trauma on main, but I'm getting weird deja vu from where my health was a few years ago and where it's at now. And most of it is revolving around Good Omens.

In May of 2019, we genuinely thought I was dying because I was dying. My organs were in the process of shutting down because my red blood cells were prematurely self-destructing and damaging my kidneys in the process, and I was rapidly coming to terms with the fact that I might not survive much longer. I'd fought the good fight, and I'd lost. Mostly due to medical neglect. And I was mad about a lot of things, but do you know what I remember from the traumatic blur I'm left with?

"I'm going to be so pissed if I die before Good Omens comes out."

I'd waited 20+ years at that point for something like a tv adaptation of Good Omens. Ever since I was a child and my dad read the book to me, and I fell in love with it. And here I was, mere weeks away from the TV release and on the verge of death.

Then like a miracle, a miracle that hinged on human compassion and a doctor being willing to listen to me, I was saved. Dragged back from the jaws of death by a relentless hematology department that refused to give up on me and ultimately saved my life. And a week later, I got to watch Good Omens propped up in my own bed, still weak, still ill, with my heart stuttering in my chest every time I laughed. And I remember thinking, "I did it. I got to see it."

That it's now it's 2023 and my health has tanked again. My organs are rebelling against me and no one seems to know why. But yet again, a few weeks before Good Omens is set to release, I find a doctor who listens to me and is doing all he can to help. Striving with the grim kind of determination that can only come from a place of compassion and care. Like my world is worth saving, and not just his.

Which is rather fitting, I think.

THOUGHT MOMENT!!!

I love how Maggie and Nina mirror Aziraphale and Crowley but have the one major component our celestial mains do not, which we can all agree on: communication. Most instances of Maggie and Nina’s interactions involve the same energy of Aziraphale(as Maggie’s mirror) and Crowley (as Nina’s mirror), with a similar bzzz of frenetic energy, but the difference is they are able to talk about the situation at hand as well as their immediate emotions. Could this be because they’re getting to know each other, whereas Aziraphale and Crowley rely fully on their shared history and therefore operate on assumption? Could it be that they’re more aware of themselves than the other two?

Regardless, I love that Maggie and Nina take hold of their situation at their own hands, then confront Crowley (and by extension, Aziraphale) about their scenario and the meddling.

I also love how Nina questions the ball and their experiences with Maggie’s agreeance while Crowley and Aziraphale parrot God’s card game of control. However, the sheer difference in the two system differentials is one group meets their maker head on as a pair (Maggie & Nina to Crowley) whereas one still has a rift in their togetherness due to the godly divide (Aziraphale’s constant distancing from Crowley as “demon,” despite its waning over Season 2 until that fateful line in Episode 6). I think it’s really fun that we got to see a side of possibility through Nina and Maggie for how similar their dispositions are to our celestial mains.

I appreciate Neil for this dualism to show us what we COULD have if our mains ever actually TALKED TO EACH OTHER!!!!!!

edit: Nina and Maggie also don’t have TIME like our mains do. It feels like much can be swept under the rug when you seemingly don’t have an end, and even so it’s “discorporation,” not death.

But then again, other people's lovelives always seems much more straightforward than our own

Good Omens | S02E03

I know we've all seen and discussed The Kiss so many times by now, but it's nearly the one-year anniversary of GO 2 and ever since I saw this slow motion gif and this clip, it's felt like watching it all over again with fresh eyes.

Everything about this is so breathtaking on so many levels. The way Michael's eyebrows raise, the way he seems to almost lift himself into the kiss, like he was physically bringing himself closer to David's/Crowley's lips, and how they very nearly melt into each other even as they're trying not to. You can almost see their hearts leaping close together, as if something powerful is happening as much within them as without.

It reminds me of episode one and the angel-that-would-be-Crowley snapping his fingers and saying "Let there be light." Four little words, one simple gesture, and a whole universe that wasn't there before exploded into being. Sparks flying, in more ways than one...

And I love it. I love that this kiss is so incredible that we are still talking about it one year later, and that it will forever be one of the most gorgeously searing kisses ever committed to film. I love that we have this kiss specifically because it was Michael and David in these roles, and the once-in-a-lifetime chemistry between them.

There are film kisses, and then there are film kisses, and almost nothing I have ever seen on screen comes close to this, or ever will. I am so, so grateful to Michael and David for giving this to us, and to each other...

I love the backstory we get in the S2 because we basically see many of Aziraphale’s actions from S1 predicated by Crowley’s inspiration or impact.

And I don’t know about y’all, but to me, a big of love is when somebody absorbs a small habit of mine or I absorb theirs 🥹💓

Y'all don't understand I didn't think they'd do it

I didn't see the leak. I'm assuming it was about the kiss but I didn't see it I just knew it existed and did my best to avoid it. I went into season 2 blind, fully expecting Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship to be similar to season one: small romantic moments, a few puppydog eyes from Aziraphale, soft little glances, something undeniably there but never stated or named. I was ready for a season where they loved each other but loved each other in their own way, a way easily read as romantic but a way that many, many people would also easily read as not romantic at all. I was ready for the extent of what we got to be something similar to season one and Neil and the casts' word that they love each other

I didn't think we'd get a kiss. I didn't think we'd get a confession. I was ready to not get those things, I was okay with not getting those things. My main worry was people getting their hopes up about a kiss and then being disappointed, or even angry, when it didn't happen. I was like "it would be nice, but I doubt Neil and the rest of the team will want to take that route, which is fine it's their story after all". I cannot stress enough that I did not think they'd do it

And then they did it

Crowley surprisingly moved to the greenhouse above the bookshop by himself while Aziraphale continued to read.

Then later after I checked in again, Aziraphale joined him for some tea it seems!
