It also isolates you from your peers. It puts you on a pedestal. You're The Smart One and thats all. Teachers will decide youre responsible and do things like leave you in charge for a minute while they go to bathroom and suddenly you want to mess around but youre expected to behave and also to reprimand your peers from a place of mild authority and you dont want that. You finish your work early so you're made to help out your peers; obviously if you can a do it you can teach it and if you have time its your job. No rest for you. Youre put above your peers again.

When youre failing in the areas that dont come naturally, youre told you're being lazy and you just have to apply yourself. You dont know what that means. You dont understand why you spend all afternoon playing minesweeper and hating yourself instead of doing homework. They must be right, you must be lazy. Your mistakes are all careless, if you don't understand something its your fault. Youre being careless and lazy again.

You're bored and frustrated. The teacher says they're disappointed in you because youre usually so responsible. Why dont you just sit quietly and wait. You wait twenty minutes for the teacher to come over and answer the question you're stuck on because the other kids were higher priority, you were obviously ok because youre smart and responsible.

Your peers are awed by how Smart you are and dont understand why youre not happy with their compliment. They would do anything to have such an easy time. Your head feels like its going to explode. You start taking the chair next to the window so at least you have something to look at, and sneaking books into class whenever you can. The teacher is just happy that you're quiet, but could you put more effort into your work first? Youre making careless mistakes. You can do better. If you keep rushing they'll take your book away. If you actually studied you could do better, why is it that you choose to just skate by just because you can? What do you mean how do you study? You study. What kind of question is that?

And its not just that people leave school and oops university is harder you never bothered to learn studying. Everything was structured. You lived at home. Most of your day was school where every minute is allocated. If you were lucky you had parents doing your laundry and organising your food and paying bills and doing all the things necessary for your physical survival. Then you move out and you have to do all of that yourself all at once for the first time. Without much external structure or guidance. And a lot of neurodivergent people can't manage like that without being taught. And we're not taught. We're not used to deliberately learning things because if we weren't automatically good at it no one showed us how to learn, and if they did was academic. You cant use flashcards to not get overwhelmed and confused buying groceries, you cant write a neat essay to get your internet connected.

Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy.
