Wowee, my first draft got me to 210 words but I've been fine-tuning the wording for hours. Really wanted a non-dice based game because so many sample rpg's required it! Boring!

Best understood if you're aware of Dogs in the Vineyard (poker), and Fiasco (assigning a win/loss result and then improv-ing what the scene would be to get that result, as well as not playing to 'win').

Not convinced the example/ending text is the best use of words but here we are.

Oddly, while writing it I became convinced this could definitely be played in a car on a road trip.

I don't want to make you feel guilty about it but do you have any updates about Shiloh?

Don't worry, I've been wanting to tell y'all what's up with Shiloh for awhile now! I just want to start with the disclaimer that I don't really have what I'd call "news" on it. It's in limbo at the moment, but for good reason. When you sign on with Webtoon you agree to give them digital exclusivity for a period of time. This is so you can't go and post your series somewhere else, because ofc webtoon wants readers to only be able to read it on their app. This is all fine, like it's all above-board, normal stuff. But as a result there's a span of time where you cannot post the series anywhere else, even if the series is finished. I don't wanna get too specific, but a few years. You've probably heard about Let's Play, right? How Mongie left the platform? The reason she can't immediately start posting Let's Play somewhere else, is because of this same thing. She, like all the other webtoons that leave or are canceled, needs to wait until the term is up before she can continue elsewhere. The clock on this resets whenever you post a new episode. So it's not like episode 1 is okay to post somewhere else before episode 10 is, it's the whole series or nothing. So with all that said. Shiloh's almost to the end of this term, and past a certain point we felt it no longer made sense to try to post S3 as a webtoon original because the moment we post even one episode, we'd have to wait all these years over again if/when we left. There's also been some writing on the wall for a minute that webtoon isn't keen on renewing Shiloh after S3, so there was also a possibility we'd come back, just to be canceled. And honestly that's alright with us, we have thought for some time now that Shiloh is better suited to a longer monthly issue release rather than shorter weekly ones, just with the genre it is. And besides, we wouldn't be able to keep up with webtoon's mandated weekly schedule while we're working on Nevermore at the same time. So TLDR; when Shiloh comes back it won't be as a webtoon original. But I'm not sure what it'll look like yet. Could be on canvas. Could be on patreon as like a free/fastpass sort of route, potentially. We know we want people to be able to read it for free no matter what. But the details are all sort of a toss up at the moment, because we still have a little more time to wait before we can do anything anyway. I'm sorry if that's not a very satisfying answer! It's why I've been dragging my feet on a proper announcement, because I don't have any hard dates or plans for y'all yet. But we have not abandoned Shiloh! It's been in deep freeze, but intentionally. And with plans to return at some point. We won't be abandoning it, it's a huge passion project for us. <3

The last couple days for hazbin fans have been, ..something

The leaks, people giving opinions over the leaks, viv leaving twitter because of that.

Look i know viv really ain't the best person on this earth, i know i know, but even she doesn't deserve this, literally no one deserves this.

I think this situation is like the worst nightmare for every show maker on this world, imagine working hard on your passion project just for it to get leaked to the world.

Also for the animators who worked their asses off to create this show for us, writers creating this story for us, viv creating these characters for us.

But the thing is that not everyone seems to realize yet is that this could be a HUGE problem, all this work cost alot of money for prime and it released way too soon without their consent. If we continue to leak more and share more hazbin hotel could even get canceled because maybe this happens again?? It happened with s1, happened with s2, who is to say it isn't going to happen with s3 or s4. Prime doesn't want to waste so much money so they could just cancel the show.

To the vivziepop haters, we know you hate her, we get it we really do. you make that REALLY fucking clear. But she doesn't deserve this. Don't go around and say she deserved to have her show, her dream that she put her sweat and tears in for us to enjoy it, be leaked.

Now i cant speak from experience since i'm no animator, but i love to draw and write. And for some people that is their job. But please shut the fuck up and let this situation blow away with the wind so hopefully hazbin hotel still has a chance, if not for vivziepop then for the sane fans who just enjoy a silly animated show about hell. Not all of us are braindead assholes, trust me, most of us are normal human beings who just like a show.

If it’s not too much, have a request for the demon brothers with an autistic MC who makes up their own inside jokes that don’t make sense to other people but make them start giggling no matter the situation, social cues fly way over their head and if the social cue is obvious (like holding out a hand for a handshake) it takes like a few awkward seconds for them to remember what to do, is sensitive and overwhelmed by loud noises like crowds and yelling, and startled by sudden touch but still is okay with touch.

And the MC has major social anxiety (because of the lack of getting social cues and also sensitivity to loud sounds)

I haven’t seen anyone do one like this so if you could do it that would be amazing

Ok, so, I think we're acting like the finality we've gleaned from interviews basically means that Tim 'I've never seen a show bible' Minear has created one just to write 'never have Tommy back' on it.

But I think what's most likely is that the finality is with regards to the conclusion of this arc, 'Baby Bi Buck's First Queer Relationship', consequently freeing up LFJ for other roles.

But, what might the future hold? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

we don't know why the 4-episode arc was extended (milk the praise? they didn't know what else to do with Buck?...) or why it ended now (budget? Tommy was a mouthpiece for the writers and it's them who believe that Buck needs to 'explore his bisexuality'? bc they don't really want Buck settled in a relationship?...)

we don't know what their internal numbers will say about the GA's reaction, if any significant backlash would recover with time or with Buck's next LI/storyline, or if it's going to be bad enough that they'll scramble to pivot.

we don't know how long this show will be on air, how much notice they'll get before cancellation, or even if Minear will remain showrunner or leave for the spin-off.

we do know they don't plan very far in advance (how's that go, he's 'laying down the train tracks' as he goes?)

we know they change storylines, they pivot, they scrap scenes,...

we also know that the break-up was, whether by intent or accident, written in a way that easily allows for a reunion (asks for a conclusion, even, in my opinion). No one's dead and it wasn't acrimonious.

So, I'm going to remain hopeful, but not expectant.

I saw your post about the devastating typhoon in your country and know that must be heartbreaking. if it's okay to ask, is Hollowed Minds still being written? I completely understand if it's not, since I (and other readers) know you have probably been going through a lot. I still love and think about your IF everyday to the point it's become a comfort game of mine and gotten me through some tough times with its engaging mysteries and angsty, touching moments, and though I would obviously be sad about it, the mental health and personal circumstances of authors are so much more important than a fan's feelings. I wish you good luck with life regardless of whether this IF is continued or not!

Hi! I appreciate the concern and your love for HM and don't worry because I'm still working on it <3 I know it's been a while, and admittedly it also distresses me that I haven't updated the game yet after all this time. But please be assured that this isn't a story I could ever let go of or even think about canceling no matter what.

Honestly, our country's been through a lot these past few years. My family, friends, and mentors have been through a lot as well. There is increased hostility targeted at marginalized communities everywhere and it's made a huge impact on my writing and my perception towards my own characters. I also find I relate to a lot of them now to an extent I never wished to reach.

It's partly why I decided to make MC someone with Filipino (specifically Tagalog) heritage, why I made their personality a little more preset (while still allowing space for headcanons and a few trait choices), and why I'm making some revisions to make certain details clear upfront.

Also, I suppose I'm just afraid a lot of readers would not get the point of the series itself. We're still at a very early stage of the plot, and while I've gotten anons whose theories have made it clear that they understand what this is eventually leading to, I do get the sense that some might still think of it as a mere cop thriller story when I actually aim for it to be a critic of policing institutions and the system itself. This is something that would be made clear anyway as we progress, but I at least want it to be apparent that MC will never ally nor respect some characters throughout the series, and that there are actions they would never find justifiable/fair.

I haven't posted significant progress updates lately (which is also why Patreon billings are still paused atm) because I don't think I've made enough progress to talk about. I will still answer asks, however, so please feel free to send them if you have questions/concerns/fun asks!

@bugboybuck I saw your wonderful post (great taste, totally recommending the same shows, didn't know about the last one so thanks, totally putting it on my watchlist) but didn't know if you wanted us to recommend shows on your post or elsewhere so here are some of my recommendations :

The lake

After returning from abroad following a breakup with his long-term partner, Justin plans to connect with his teenage daughter he gave up for adoption. His plans to make new memories with her at the family cottage go awry when he discovers his parents left it to his picture-perfect stepsister, Maisy-May.

The main character is gay and played by Jordan Gavaris who played Felix in orphan Black and he has a pretty love interest.

There is also other queers characters but I don't want to spoil too much.

The show kind of reminded me of schitt's Creeks for the "an assembly of funny characters are cut out from the rest of the world" kind of show. If schitt's Creeks were 10/10 on the funny and entertaining scale then The lake would be 7/10 for me. I really recommend it if you want to watch a cute and funny little show with queer undertones without some heavy thinking

It has already 2 seasons of 8 episodes each (30min each) and it's renewed for a 3rd season.

A former CIA operative who has since built a "normal" life as a gifted professor and writer is pulled back into his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer on the loose.

It has the great Alan Cumming playing the gay older main male character, he's happily married and face some adult challenge in his personal and love life. His work partner is also not a "young" woman and she got a lovely straight pairing as well (trying not to spoil lol)

It aired in 2018, was cancelled after 2 seasons only unfortunately but I have bad memory and still I remember this show, because watching a police show with a main gay character was not common in 2018 but also because I still remember loving the characters and their personal struggles so really recommend it if you like some good police procedural drama with a good 1 cop/1 genius etc...

And you compare Lawan and Frank, who have lived side by side all their lives since Lawan was 8 years old, and Frank was literally her father figure. While Waltz is nobody to Aiden, Waltz isn't even his biological father. Frank literally adopted Lawan. And Waltz, a long time ago, actually "buried" Aiden and forgot about him for 15 years.

Yes, I think there is a difference between ships, and yes, I think that hetero-inc*st and outright pdf are as problematic as possible, especially in the context of the characters. I basically don't care about Aiden/Frank's ship, their relationship can be explained, even with their age difference, it's not problematic, unlike Lawan/Frank, but I just don't like this ship. I can understand ships, I can understand problem ships, I can understand problem ships with an age difference, but I can't understand a person who defends pdf.

The problem is that the person was literally drawing pdf nsfw, but you omit this point and protect only the fact of the age difference because this is something that can be physically protected. Cool. But you forget that the rest of the fandom members write and draw only about adult relationships.

Now, before we talk about the NSFW part, let me say this. She ships Frank x Lawan and Frank x Aiden(I think now she ships her DL oc with Frank now, But I personally know that she still ship these ships)

Problem? Yes, Frank x Lawan has a BIG problem in it. In DL2 canon lore, Lawan met Frank when she was young and views him as her dad figure. Shiping her with Frank is sounds problematic and might be considered as p*dophilia. I think what's frustrating me the most about what's going on in campaign 3 right now is that the main idea being talked about and given way too much emphasis runs counter to the theme of the m9. If the Nein were about the idea that you can become better no matter what you did or who you were before, the argument set forth and being entertained as a legitimate conflict right now is very "these guys did bad shit a thousand years ago and they should die. Somehow this is good for everyone despite the centuries of good they've done since." Ashton's point was extremely astute that if that's the case, cleanse the entire world motherfucker because we're no better, but the hypocrisy of that was neatly sidestepped (which is at least consistent with Ludinus and fascists of his ilk in general). It's not a real argument, guys. We're not meant to take him seriously.

The gods are the stewards of the only world anyone living has ever known. The fact that they made bad choices that hurt Ludinus and people he knew is a legitimate grievance. The gods are in fact flawed, capable of selfishness, but when confronted with the enormity of the damage they were causing this world, they removed themselves and a whole chunk of their power to seal themselves behind the divine gate. They didn't abandon the world. They didn't withdraw their power and sulk, leaving everyone without their gifts until they begged for a return. They simply care for mortals on the terms of those mortals and ask for nothing not freely given. The people who follow the gods find them worthy of that patronage and Ludinus does not get to erase the choice of everyone else who doesn't agree with him because he's hurt, even if he did have a point (he doesn't).

He thinks, for some reason, that his actions won't result in the same kind of harm on a global scale and completely ignores the damage he has already wrought in the name of a higher purpose because that's what the gods did and they're no better than him. But they are, dipshit. They are better than you. There are people in the world they may not be better than, salient point, but you're not one of them.

And after the light and love that was the core of the Nein - the very thing that shaped Essek into the campaign 3 NPC that he is - it feels extremely disingenuous for "do the gods deserve their power now that you've seen them at their worst" to be perceived as an actual, legitimate conflict in the endgame and a talking point in the Fandom. Especially when the Hells have already been pretty clear that they're not looking to be judge, jury, and executioner of the gods. This is not the central conflict of campaign 3, it's one dumbass's weird motivation to be a villain that needs to be stopped and the fact that it keeps coming up as anything approaching credible is a condemnation of the purity culture mindset in online spaces today.

i want eiffel and minkowski to go camping together so bad, like i know minkowski loves camping. eiffel loves the idea of saying he's going camping. eiffel loves the romanticized pop culture version of camping he imagines in his brain, where he gets to listen to music by the fire and eat smores. eiffel wants to feel like a rugged outdoorsman but, like, with access to modern comforts.

minkowski is actually outdoorsy and likes some challenge, so to her "camping" means long hikes and roughing it as off-the-grid as she can justify. eiffel cannot be taken off grid. eiffel's favorite outdoor hobby is handing someone one of his handmade walkie talkies and being like, okay, stay here, i'm going to drive in that direction and see how far i can radio you from. eiffel is out there building stuff out of their camping equipment to see if he can pick up signals. but when he's actually supposed to set up his tent, he can not do it. maybe he lost some of the parts along the way, but he keeps making it worse, and even minkowski can't salvage it. then it starts pouring rain on them, because of course it does.

eiffel sleeps in the truck and cramps his neck up so badly, and when he wakes up minkowski gives him black coffee and trail mix for breakfast and he looks at it so despondently that she's like ugh, fine, nevermind. and they give up and get breakfast at denny's and go home. and eiffel is like oh thank god, hot water, indoor plumbing, my own bed, i'll never take this for granted again <- guy who spent literally one night in the woods, and also years stranded in space.
