SIRINADYA FESTIVAL IN TAPAZ
SIRINADYA FESTIVAL IN TAPAZ
The celebration of Sirinadya Festival of the Municipality of Tapaz in Capiz last January 19, 2020 mesmerizes both locals and visitors. The town celebrates the 61st year of their colorful festivity showcasing their timeless devotion to the Sto. Nino, the child Jesus. So far this is one of the oldest cultural festival in the country. Every year, they choose a child in their town to dress up as the Sto. Nino, a part of the religous tradition of St. Jerome parish church. The Sirinadya Tribe Competition is a bursting of colors reflecting merriment, thanksgiving, and cultural retelling of their heritage that highlights their faith to the Child Jesus.
Tapaz is the only town that annually features a live Sto. Nino in the region or perhaps in the country as the main focus of their divine praise through culture festivity. But what makes this year’s Sirinadya Festival tribe competion is the fact that all participating groups featured dancers and performers who all teachers coming from various elementary and secondary teachers instead of students. The festival is a merging visionary effort between the St. Jerome Parish and the Tapaz Local Government Unit headed by Municipal Mayor Roberto Palomar. Tapaz as a town is blessed with resilient people who remains to be the steward of their heritage, embraces steadfast progress without neglecting the gifts of the earth – beautiful scenery, natural resources, and strong tourism potential. Sirinadya Festival happened today with so much spectacle, inspiring vision, and joy in the hearts of the Tapaznons.

Capiz amazing celebrations

Mounds and mounds of seafood such as prawn, talaba and other shellfish were served during Capiztahan, the annual fiesta of Capiz province on Panay island in Western Visayas late last month.
The fiesta marked the 116th anniversary of the founding of the civil government of Capiz.
Tagging itself as the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, Capiz served up dishes from its marine bounty and more.
Because of its brackish waters, Capiz has abundant marine life. Its growing economy relies heavily on seafood trade and business.
