#i just realized there was no context for this scene

I know plenty of people have already made a version of the "Jinx is alive" theory post but I've also seen so many of you mourn her death that I decided to gather all the evidence and make another post, turning this theory into a fact.
Because Jinx is alive. It's not a speculation. It's literally there.
The first thing I'm going to mention are the context clues Jinx gives herself. First, the last thing the ghost of Silco tells her. I think the cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away. Then, the realization she comes to when Vi hugs her in the cell. You're never gonna give up on me, are you? What she tells Vi after she leaves her in that cell. You don't need to worry about me anymore. [...] And yes, her initial plan is to kill herself, because she thinks the only way for Vi to move on is for her to be gone. And Ekko gets there just in time to stop her but it looks like he doesn't convince her to abandon her plan, just change it.
And later, when she joins Vi in the final fight. What does she tell her? Still don't get it, huh, sis? I'm always with you. Even when we're worlds apart.
Everything that happens after is constructed specifically to let us and Vi believe that Jinx died. Until we get to this scene:
Caitlyn is studying the Hexgates designs.
She's looking through the pages depicting the place where the final fight happened, specifically focusing on the air vent shafts, while toying with a monkey bomb head - the same monkey bomb that Jinx used in her supposed last monents.
She looks down at the monkey...
Watch the eyes. The realization hits her...
And she smirks, knowing. Jinx used one of the air vents to escape before the explosion.
I've studied the explosion frame by frame. First, a small yellow explosion goes off - Jinx sets off the monkey bomb.
As it becomes bigger, she shoots out of there
this is still the beginning of the blast when we can still see her, and the big boom that destroys everything starts 10 frames later
Last context clue is a reference to the very first episode, which is clearly depicted in this gifset here, so instead of explaining, I'll just send you there to check for yourselves.
One thing that is speculation here is, how exactly did Caitlyn come into possession of the monkey bomb head? I doubt she found it there because it would have been turned to dust. And I'm thinking, Jinx took it with her and left it for Cait to find as a clue. She didn't want Vi to know but maybe she wanted Cait to figure it out. I imagine her sneaking into her house and maybe leaving it somewhere for Cait to find, like her desk or something. It gives Cait an idea, a gut feeling she needs to check, and that allows her to figure it out. Just like we are supposed to figure it out on our own.
Bottom line, Jinx is alive. She escaped the explosion through the air vents, then boarded the airship and left the city, convinced that the only way to give her sister a happy ending is to take herself out of the equation. The glitching closing shot saying The End in Jinx's colorful handwriting is a sign that she is telling us that this is where this story ends, like she's saying "don't look for me. It's over." That's also probably why we aren't shown what Caitlyn does with the information she now possesses.
I hope this helps take away from the grief 💙

hi! i love the way you write aventurine, could you give me some tips on writing for him bc im struggling her to grasp his character :(
if you don’t have the time then that’s alright!
Hello, nonnie. Thank you so much :') Since you didn't mention whether this was in the Yandere context or not, I'll list some general tips. I hope you find these helpful!
— FOR BASIC CHARACTERIZATION
One of the most important aspects of Aventurine is that he's insanely smart, but they always sign it off with luck at the other side of the equation. This is intentional of course and whether or not luck really is the ultimate deciding factor isn't really the question we should be pondering about for a video game. Everything Aventurine does is through careful strategizing, scheming and calculating. What you need to remember is that ‘luck’ is more like a protective layer on top of it all. When deciding upon a plot, try your best to keep Aventurine's intelligence in mind. Then you can seal it off by using ‘luck’ in classic Aventurine style, or use dramatic irony with this point.
I think, for Aventurine, having a reader who surprises him is very convenient. It doesn't need to be a head-on challenge, sometimes the strongest impressions are made through silence and passivity. Remember, Aventurine is an incredibly observant character. For example : when he offers the Trailblazer ten thousand Credits after their first encounter, if you refuse politely, he becomes extremely pleased, as opposed to his somewhat miffed reaction if you pick the other option.
As you know, he's often partial to extremes. His ‘all or nothing’ motto can be useful to stir inner conflict.
Body language is very important for building his character. Instead of writing a whole paragraph about how beneath his bravado, he's always scared of losing, they conveyed much more through revealing the fact that he hides his left hand behind his back during all daring gambles. Aventurine isn't the type to be upfront about emotions that can make him vulnerable — that's detrimental to survival. So I think you can reveal those emotions through body language.
He's a very... unconventional gambler. His tendency to pose things as gambles and bets is more like a shield than anything. In any case, it makes for a great tool in adding drama.
— FOR DIALOGUE
Aventurine is a pretty complex character so I often forget certain things if I don't stay in practice, listening to his voicelines really helps me get a quick refresh in those cases. There's this channel on YouTube that compiles the characters' scenes individually, it's very helpful.
I think we all can agree one of Aventurine's greatest strengths is how he weaponizes words against others. There's more to this though. Be mindful to the upward and downward inflections in his sentences, the pauses between phrases and which words he's putting emphasis on.
He's also an interesting mix of straight-forward and roundabout. He says he prefers people to be direct and he often is direct himself. But with his ‘insults’ in particular, he's very roundabout. By the time you realize what he just said, it's already too late to shoot a comeback and he has you exactly where he wants.
— MISC. TIPS
Keep his backstory in mind and be respectful to it, but don't let it stop you from experimenting.
He has religious trauma, survivor's guilt, trust and commitment issues, as well as a complicated attachment style. Do you research on how these things affect people in relationships.
Aventurine's arc hasn't ended, which is why many things about him aren't definite. Consider how you might use it to your advantage.

On Caitlyn's 180: An Essay
This is all spoiler below. But I NEED to talk about it.
What if this is the exact moment Caitlyn puts everything together, including Vi being one of the children who burglarized Jayce's penthouse.
Hear me out.
So, Caitlyn asks Vi what she's doing there, and Vi says, "Trying to save my dad." She has this little "AHA!" moment.
(go look at the last panel of this gif set rn for more context)
That woman just had an epiphany. Furthermore, the way the music swells at this exact moment just feels like it's clueing in on more than meets the eyes.
She clearly realizes, at minimum, that her and Vi are here for the same thing: Warwick. And then doesn't even really question it. This got me to thinking, "but how she do that though?"
Well, she has all the information she needs to put it together, this is just the first time she's had a reason to pull that SPECIFIC information together.
Let's start with the fact that Caitlyn loves a mystery, and the rise of shimmer is a part of her favorite mystery.
Literally, in her giant bedroom, the only part of it that looks lived in is the big map at the foot of her bed. The show doesn't indicate when exactly this obsession started for Caitlyn, but it makes it clear that it's been on her mind for a very long time. Jayce called it "the great conspiracy," so she definitely talked about it a lot. And Jayce's flippant attitude tells us she's definitely been thinking about it since she was a teenager.
Educated guess, I believe this started with Sheriff Grayson's murder. (a) It would be unsurprising Caitlyn felt a great need to bring justice to the person that murdered someone she cared for. (b) It was a murder that would ultimately become a cold case. (c) Silco being the main conspirator to her murder, the trail would lead her to a larger conspiracy.
And from this scene above, we know that Vi is impressed with what Caitlyn was able to gather without ever going to the Undercity. Which means, we know her board was really close to the truth. Afterall, it did lead her to Vi, who single-handedly led her to the answers she sought.
So, why the hell does this matter in regards to Vi being involved in the burglary?
Caitlyn knows that Grayson's main priority at the time of her death was finding the culprits of the explosion.
Caitlyn's parents clearly involve her in the conversations revolving around the explosion at the penthouse. I don't feel it's a stretch to assume she also knew that the council were putting pressure on Grayson to solve the case.
The explosion of the warehouse happened on the same night as Grayson's murder. While I don't think Caitlyn had a way to really connect the 2 explosions except that they happen within days of each other, I doubt Caitlyn forgets this fact even if she does not connect them initially.
Now you may being wondering why the heck that matters. What does the warehouse have anything to do with it?
Caitlyn was in the ruins of the destroyed warehouse at the end of season 1.
In which she heard this conversation.
Thing is, she was going through an extremely traumatic experience at the time... Then her mom was killed... So I doubt she realized it was the same place nor had the mental capabilities of processing the information. And by the time she did have the capacity to really consider it, she likely had no reason to...at least yet.
Regardless, she's here for this conversation. She now at least knows Vander's name and that he was important to them and that Silco murdered him here.
So, she has her connection here. If she realizes this was the location of the second explosion, she now knows that Grayson and Vander were murdered on the same night. And if she connects it to the penthouse explosion, Grayson's investigation and main focus at the time, she also knows that...
4 children were fleeing the scene.
Seems like everyone knew this within the hour after the explosion. Word spread so fast, Vander knew before the kids even got home. Caitlyn undoubtedly knows about the kids. She just doesn't know who they are, but she has seen them.
Caitlyn has an eye for detail and a mind for investigation. I doubt she lets much fall between the cracks. They didn't leave Ekko's home until it was dark. She had plenty of time to look at this mural, at the 4 children including Vi. Then at the tea party when Jinx starts talking to her hallucinations, she's pointed to...
Again, traumatic experience. Probably not thinking about it that hard, but she did see the puppets. Again, no reason to connect those things yet. But she does now have the context to connect that these 2 other children are important to Vi and Jinx and that they were important enough to be brought to the "tea party."
And because of the mural, she knows that these were real people and that they died.
FURTHERMORE, they undoubtedly know who Vander was by the reputation he left behind.
When that one guy getting tortured gave up Vander's statue as the meeting location, Ambessa's second-hand man, who is not from Zaun OR Piltover, knew exactly where that was. There's no way Caitlyn doesn't also know about the statue. Besides that, she also saw him in the mural. If she's seen this statue, she knows it's the same man.
Caitlyn would now know that Vander is important to the whole undercity. "Well respected."
Lastly, Singed told Ambessa about the man behind the monster.
This one is a bit of a stretch, but think about it. Ambessa has no reason to withhold the information Singed gave her. Here it is below if you want a reminder:
"He isn't a monster. He was once a man. Well respected, at that. Victim of great tragedy. He had a furocious will to live. An incredible tolerance for pain. With him, I was able to make strides impossible with any other specimen. But the mind... the mind I could not recover. The man forever lost in the bowels of the beast, compelled only by the scent of blood. Or so I thought. It now seems I had yet to uncover the right catalyst."
Singed is awfully forthcoming with information once he realizes he doesn't have to hide it from Ambessa. And when Caitlyn walks in on them in Singe's lab, Ambessa makes no effort to hide her current involvement with Singed. AND even if Ambessa realizes Singed is talking about Vander, I highly doubt Ambessa has the information necessary to realize she's literally delivering Caitlyn to a connection to not only Vi, but Jinx.
Caitlyn, however, does have all the information. If Ambessa or Singed told Caitlyn the same info or even more, Caitlyn could likely start making some assumptions on who the man behind the beast is.
She just didn't have a catalyst to put everything together... Again, yet.
And while we're on the topic of this scene...
We learn Caitlyn abhors a gap in information.
Caitlyn talks about the mystery of shimmer, "This led to one other missing puzzle piece whose absence has always gnawed at my mind."
She wants all the details even if it does not add much to the full picture.
She already knows Silco and the chembarons are responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of shimmer. Learning who made it only tells her who made it. It doesn't solve anything or change what she would have to do to stop the spread of shimmer. But she wants to know. She HAS to know.
She wants all the dots to connect and is not satisfied until they do.
So, when Vi says, "Trying to save... my dad."
What if this one sentence was all Caitlyn needs to connect everything she didn't understand before. I mean, how else do you explain that little "aha" head move she does.
There is no way she did not take a greater interested in how the heck Vi was involved to begin with and especially as a child.
Her main focus has been on Jinx: finding her and bringing her to justice. She's been distracted.
What if this is the catalyst, the first time she has a reason to connect all those dots to make what Vi said make sense. And suddenly it all does.
Honestly, it would explain why Caitlyn jumped ship so easily.
In conclusion.
Caitlyn has all the information she needs to connect the dots.
She has the motivations to continue seeking those answers.
She just didn't have the mental opportunity to really consider it... until she did.
Anyway... Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Maybe one "Cupcake" is just not enough to convince me she'd immediately plan a mutiny, but maybe she is that simple! (She's definitely not. *coughs*)
But you know what, even if she didn't glean that Warwick is actually Vander and Vander is Vi's dad in that moment, she definitely knows after this...
So, anyway, I think she definitely knows or is at minimum primed to have the realization. Guess we'll see.

I think this scene was way out of context for the episode itself and for J/C. I like the scene because I would like any J/C scene, but if you think about it, it seems like he is really uninterested.. But a few minutes ago he was hanging on the couch just to see if she was single and free 🤣 and this scene was more important and more beautiful than this cut scene in my opinion, and I think the writers themselves realized that, and that's why they didn't put it in. But I like to think that Chakotay acted like that because first of all he respected her time, he knew she had just gone through a breakup and yes, there was still that remnant of pain from the initial shock, although she got over Mark very quickly haha. And second, he acted like that because even he wouldn't believe that she wanted him. In my opinion, from Voyager to Prodigy, Chakotay found it almost inconceivable to believe that she had feelings for him… he didn't know how to cross that line. And let's be real, a person who has avoided intimate contact with you simply coming up to you and saying something like that scares you and makes you think a lot of things like "won't this person regret it? Won't they think I'm taking advantage of the situation?". The barrier to a relationship or even a kiss must be very well thought out because once it's broken, it can never be raised again. At least not without hurting someone.
Janeway: "What will it be Chakotay indulge my feelings hold fast to protocol what?"
*moves in so much it looks she is about to kiss him or it seems like she at least desperately yearns to*
Chakotay: "you have plenty of time to think about it"
*she smiles like some love struck teenager*

(@ftl-faster-than-life HI THIS TOOK A HOT MINUTE WEH Also thanks Tumblr for eating my asks again smh) oH BOY, WHERE DO I START Oh Barry, Barry, Barry, my sweet babygirl, how you've been so incredibly villainized by this fandom I'm going to take this opportunity to address and debunk as many misconceptions about Barry's character that I can remember, in the case if someone who doesn't really know Barry all that well is reading this or to hopefully change some people's minds~
* "Barry is boring": Well, yes but actually no. That's the beauty of Barry--he is designed to be your average, unassuming everyday kind of guy. Problem is, a lot of people think that's all there is to him, but that's really only just the surface.
He has flaws. He's prone to making decisions without consulting his family if he thinks it's for the greater good. You need to explicitly tell this man if you wanna be his lover because he absolutely can NOT read romantic cues to save his own life, he's a guilt sponge, he's weird, he LOVES science and comics and is a huge nerd!! He gets jealous!
Guys-Guys?? He's aN ELDRITCH HORROR??? HELLO????? He is CONSTANTLY living in sheer and utter denial and is desperately grasping his extremely thin veneer of being human, and yet, because of this, he actually puts his family in more jeopardy. Do you even realize how fascinating that is
Barry is a character who also deeply craves companionship/people. He struggles with depression and suicidal tendencies ever since being resurrected. He tries so hard to be what everyone else wants him to be and meet their expectations while failing to take care of himself in the process. He's so much more complex than just "Wally's nice father figure who died in Crisis". People also tend to equate "boring" with "being good/kind" which, you know...I very much disagree with but that's just my opinion * "Barry is racist!" LOL This one is just so wildly incorrect. The origin of this misconception comes from an out-of-context panel Justice League of America #173) of Barry being angry about Black Lightning joining the JL. If you read the whole page the panel comes from, you'd see that in actuality Barry is NOT angry about a black man joining the League but rather, he's angry that that seems to be the only reason Oliver wants him and Barry is (rightfully) calling Oliver out on that. There has been no other time where Barry has a problem with people of color
* "Barry is a Republican" I don't even know where this fanon came from. I think this may have originated from Wally's run where Wally was a conservative and he just assumed?? Barry was the same??? Which is SO laughably wrong (Wally bby, stop projecting on your uncle challenge) For the major part of Barry's original run (and honestly, the majority of the Flash runs after that), he remained largely apolitical . People see a white guy from the 60s and automatically assume he's right leaning /shrug * "Barry's a cop!" Yeahhh, not quite actually. He's a CSI, a forensic scientist, not a blue collar badge sporting cop. He's the behind-the-scenes guy, the one who studies the crime scene and tries to piece together the evidence and bring the culprit to justice. There IS a difference. But people don't really care about the technicalities, tho, they just want to hate Barry and him being "basically" a cop is a fast and easy excuse to do so. And DC certainly isn't helping matters with them constantly pushing the cop agenda for him (thanks a lot DC) * "Barry is sexually-repressed": This is a headcanon I seen a fair amount of and--okay, I get it. Barry is shy and reserved and blushes up a mad storm when someone compliments him. I can see how that might lead people to interpret that as him being sexually repressed/being a prude. But like....Buddy. Homie. Amigo.
This man had more canon sex than Hal Jordan. He and Iris were getting it on FREQUENTLY in the Silver Age and that's not me exaggerating. Just look at Flash #197 where it was Barry's birthday and he and Iris made out and stayed in bed practically the whole day together. Maybe you could say they just did that in the morning and they did other things later buuuut I don't believe that for a minute lol. Or! In Flash #195 where Barry was late to a ceremony of a submarine departure because (you guessed it!) he was too busy exploring his wife's mouth. Just because Barry doesn't make sexually-charged remarks or cop a feel from Iris constantly doesn't mean he's opposed to sex. I see it more as him just being way more private and reserved about it, but he IS very much down to fuck as she is (or Hal! Whichever your ship may be~)
While we're kinda on the subject, I'm really not a fan of the whole Barry being "shojo-fied/uwu-fied" thing, if I'm being honest?? Like, yes, if you give him any kind of compliment, he will blush furiously and stutter. But that's different from him being totally ignorant on what sex is/being a weak, delicate little flower who needs a "Big, Strong man" like Hal to save him (also, like...can we stop treating Barry as the "girl" of the ship just because he's skinnier and smaller than Hal pls and thank you). He is an mid-20-30 year old adult man. And a forensic scientist who probably seen a lot of sex-related crimes in his line of work. I'm pretty sure he knows what sex is, guys (in fact, he would be the guy who actually hosts Sex Ed classes bc the misinformation out there is staggering lol)
"Barry is weak/one of the weaker superheroes": Ok, I've never seen anyone say this persay, but it is very evident in how people portray him a lot of the time. They see his smaller frame and the fact that he runs fast to mean he's a glass cannon (Honestly they do this to a lot of the other speedsters as well) which hi! Wrong again! Speedsters are actually INSANELY durable little dudes. He could tank a punch from Darkseid. He can drag MASSIVE SHIPS behind him!! Wally once punched Eobard with the equivalent force of a dwarf star. Yeah. Now I get whump, I personally love it, I do, but I also enjoy seeing Barry being the absolute powerhouse he is. He can vibrate through solid matter, he can manipulate frequencies, and he's incredibly smart with how to use his powers, always thinking up on the spot improv strategies and techniques! Please stop nerfing him, guys, speedsters get too much of that from the writers OTL * "He's conservative because of his buzzcut!" Ok this one actually had like, a whole article?? On it?? And it truly is so wild lmao. When the only thing people can find to hate a character on is his haircut, you know they have no basis for their argument lol * "Barry is abusive!" Nope. Not even close. People love to pull this as a "gotcha" to Barry fans, regarding the panels of "Barry" beating up Wally and verbally abusing him (The Return of Barry Allen). Except....that wasn't Barry, that was Eobard disguised as him. You know...if you read the full run, you would know that lol You literally couldn't find a more least abusive person than Barry lol. Which actually leads me into the next one... * "Barry was an example of toxic masculinity!" AH yes, of course, with how he's so openly kind and compassionate, how he loves kids and animals, how he openly cries and shows emotion, how he's super respectful of people regardless, how he chugs Respect Women juice all day everyday, how he's contributing to fundraisers to help impoverished people and further medical progress, how he's so concerned about the state of the environment and is firmly against consumption of fossil fuels, how he constantly tells his son nephew he's so proud of him and that he's his hero, how he runs home after work bc he's genuinely so excited to see his wife, how he loves her SO much and smothers her with kisses every chance he gets UGH. How does Iris stand him /s And since we're talking about Barry and how the fandom treats him, I can't not talk about the elephant in the room--Flashpoint To start off, lemme preface this real quick:
FLASHPOINT WAS NOT BARRY'S FAULT
He DID NOT intend to trade the lives of his family for his mom He DID NOT run back in time because he was jealous of Wally (uhh lmao what???? Yeah, I can't even begin to explain how wack that is) He DID NOT run back in time because he was "selfish" and "wanted his mommy back" (unfriendly reminder that Nora is a separate character and shouldn't be treated as just an appendage of a male character <333) Some actual context for non-comic readers: Eobard killing his mom is actually an aberration of the true timeline. It was PERFECTLY REASONABLE to assume that it would restore itself to its original version!! Barry had also traveled in time before in the comics without any repercussions or ill effects, so there was NO CONCEIVABLE REASON FOR HIM TO THINK ANYTHING OF THE SCALE OF FLASHPOINT WOULD EVEN HAPPEN If people had read the issues preceding Flashpoint, they'd see Barry did all of that for Nora!! Because he despised the fact that she had to pay with her life because of a villain of his!! That it wasn't right for her to die for his sake!!
"But Eobard said Flashpoint was Barry's fault-!" EOBARD is A BITCH ASS LIAR who purposely twists the truth to hurt Barry as much as he can!! Of COURSE he would say that!! What ACTUALLY happened is that Eobard is the one who somehow made Nora's death such a critical and important fixture in time to the point of just tempering with that can cause a catastrophic domino effect. Flashpoint is EOBARD'S FAULT and HIS ALONE (and Idk, Doctor Manhattan's too ig if you wanna include him)
Barry loves his family and cares so, so, SO EXTREMELY MUCH. He could literally not be any prouder of Wally if he actually tried!! Everything he does is for his family, even sacrificing his own mental health and happiness for them and it makes me SO sad to see everyone cling to this butchered version of him in their minds (though it's not entirely their fault, DC is also definitely to blame)
#dc#dc comics#barry allen#the flash#eobard thawne#reverse flash#character ask game#dc meta#I tried to scale back my saltiness but uhhh#Yeah it still kinda came out there at the end there lol my bad everybody#I'm tired of seeing slander on my dash#Flashpoint apologist? I’m thinking about how the ending puts more context to jayvik’s entire relationship in s1, not just how they diverge paths but just the basis of it in a way like — so, if we see CaitVi being build up as strangers who develop attractions to friends, to crush, to lovers in s1 so writers can put conflict between them before patching it up again, jayvik is more written as friends who are so worked up with their works to even realize how deep their bond is, kinda broken up early on so so so far gone so that in s2 they can be patched up again in a nonsensical beyond the universe gay way. The whole Jayce seemingly attracted to Mel is the diversion. THAT SEX SCENE WAS MEANT TO NOT ONLY FOR YOU TO SYMPATHIZE WITH VIKTOR BUT ALSO TO BREAK YOUR LITTLE TENDER YAOI HEART. Because here I am, so dumb and so naive and probably so distrustful due to how every show handles queer materials, thinking that “well of course the show isn’t gonna make jayvik canon, of course they’re gonna pair up Jayce and Mel because one pair of gay main characters is enough — plus Jayce is a dude and you know how straight cis male audience will respond to gay male characters, lesbians okay and gays not” — well, I WAS WRONG. THAT WAS A YAOI BUILD UP. Which I am of course delighted to, but at the same time (breaks into Step’s “One For Sorrow”) I WANTED YAOI BUT LOOK WHAT IT’S DONE TO ME.
Bonus personal opinions: I initially had this hesitation to fully invest on jayvik while I knew my heart was there because I felt Viktor deserve better and Jayce felt like a jerkass of a boyfriend — but that was necessary. You have to witness how naive Jayce was and how he unknowingly put Viktor in that sort of emptiness or it wouldn’t make that much impact in s2 . There is sorta like a comeuppance thing that’s going on with Jayce, that he then understands what he does wrong too. That pays off. That really really pays off. All the “ugh I wish it could’ve been this way for them” is all answered in s2. I really didn’t expect it to come because of the aforementioned distrust.
Man this fucking yaoi drama I swear. But god bless it. God bless yaoi.

I expected this to go exactly how it went but it was so heartbreaking. Alot of SkyVik lovers may have felt empty or robbed in some way in regard to their relationship especially in light of some other shippers who somehow think they won (seriously, what show are we watching that anyone can declare such a victory; plus its childish! There I said, shipping wars are for angsty teens! )
This scene shows Viktor choosing to give up his humanity in the face of continued tragedy driven by emotions; his life is a cycle of generational trauma and once that decision is made, he vocally distances himself from the pain of what that decision is costing him. By calling her "doctor" and "Ms Young" he's decreasing the emotional intensity of the moment but not only is Sky still there and comforting as he struggles with the weight of his choice, despite his words he is physically shaking at the idea of losing her.
Im still unsure if she was in fact a manifestation of his ideal of her or if she was absorbed within the hexcore (which is also a bit of context as when they are in the "real"her physical self is the same but when she is seen through the beauty and healing of Hexcore she is a radiant) HIS CHOSEN companion. She was the beating heart he didn't really know he had/needed until it was gone. Their relationship has always been framed that way; upon her death he honored what he felt should have been his path (AND CHOSEN COMPANION) all along but instead of diverging from that path he continued on the one with Jayce due to the brotherly affection they have for each other. Unfortunately, their choices with hextech costs them BOTH a future and many others for that matter but I diagress.
Her last words of " You won't" have been taken as an omen that he never cared; I HOSTILY DISAGREE. He won't remember their talks because he won't remember HIMSELF or the emotion surrounded them because of what he is doing; she was mourning that at their parting. It wasn't cold; it was sorrowful and empathetic.
I'll leave with a bit more optimism; clearly at some point in Viktors future he realized he lost something he wanted back; to reverse the decision he made without any coercion from Sky to make (HA@ Suck on that you trolls) and he SPENT TIME ETERNAL (OK I made that up but clearly time) to reverse that decision by turning to his co-conspirator and ruiner of both their loves to fix it so that time can be rewritten in a world where timely diverged his path in which there was still one with Sky.
Just because the brothers began and ended in a scene together bound by a tragic fate doesn't mean the people they loved didn't influence the sacrifice.
Goodbye, Sky

Trapped in a vicious cycle of pining? Try gay sex! (More things to learn over at Tiger Tiger!)
#tiger tiger#jamis arlesi#remy bonnaire#Arno#through a series of unfortunate events I will be posting this after the update will be out so my timing will be more so:#“Alternate take on how that scene played out” Rather than my funnier “My prediction for how it will go down”#I truly think Remy would rather admit to crimes he didn't commit than confess he has a thing for men.#It would be funny! It would be so funny if this is how Jamis found out. Alas...Not yet...Not yet...#I do love the idea that Jamis completely overlooked the all the elder god horror to get right down to the question of 'HOW DO YOU KNOW HIM'#Remy knows him. Knows him carnally. Wouldn't you like to also know your captain better? In spirit and body and mind?#Jealousy looks good on Jamis. Now he just has to do something about it.#Poor Remy though...He love Jamis so much he'd do anything to prevent losing him.#Which entails never giving Jamis a chance of rejecting or accepting his feelings!#Meanwhile...Jamis is a bisexual disaster man who is at his *limit*.#(For the MDZS fans looking at this Tigers comic who still have no context:#This is like Lan Xichen finding out Jin Guangyao hooked up with Nie Mingjue after LXC spent all that time thinking JGY was straight.#Better yet. This is like WWX just starting to realize his crush on LWJ and then finding out he and JC hooked up in the time skip.#'Nice to know you're into men but why did I have to find out like this' moment.)#((Yes I am trying to bridge the gap between the fandoms I am in. Yes I am still on my propaganda train. Choo Choo!!!))

Don't get me wrong, "The Beauty of the House is immeasurable; its Kindness infinite" is a quote that absolutely hits me square in the chest every time.
..But I feel like putting it in italics under an aesthetic picture is kinda neglecting the context, since Piranesi has Nearly Drowned when he first says that.
#Piranesi#I could make a whole rant about this#I don't wish to claim the house isn't beautiful. However.#One does have to wonder how much of its sentience kindness and grace is projected onto it BY Piranesi#Because it isn't always kind is it?#The winters are hard. The collapsed floors are dangerous. My guy is talking to birds and dead people#Also he Nearly Fcking Drowns in the first scene#But I don't wish to be a negative nancy either#What matters is that Piranesi sees that kindness#I suppose it's the same way the statues capital-r-Represent concepts while also being unmoving stone...#Or maybe its that Piranesi is so kind he can't help seeing that quality in everyone and everything#I fear I'm rambling.#Just wanted to get it off my chest.#I wonder how many people reading that quote out of context know that it's the thought of a drenched man clinging to the legs of a statue#Susanna Clarke#(edit: realized that the call-back to this line does knock me off my feet.)#(I cried physical tears reading the final chapter)#(anyway okay so yeah it's just the First time that that line is written where the narrator has narrowly brushed past death)#(wait.... The way that it puts the “house” in a whole new context...#The way that “world” and “house” are interchangeable....bro I need to lie down this BOOK.)#(It is 2am and I am unwell about this story)

more of Mae's adventures in Castle Dracula
aka: Maedhros used Punch! It's super effective!
#silm#silmarillion#maedhros#dracula#crossover#oh i think i need a tag for this too#it already has its own sticky note color so it gets a tag#hmm#mae's adventures in castle dracula#context: he cut himself a bit on a broken bookshelf and drac grabbed his arm#then promptly got punched#also mae; being very treelight-y; is a natural vampire repellant apparently#so not only did dracula get punched in the face#he basically got punched in the face by a giant crucifix in terms of the amount of damage it dealt#after this scene mae briefly wonders if he misjudged how strong a punch an old adan can survive#because drac just fell on the floor and didnt move for a full ten minutes#dracula: where did you learn to fight like that#maedhros: i have six younger brothers and all of them bite#wait. after dealing with his various bitey siblings/cousins' antics mae is probably the best person at avoiding being bitten#his reflexes are strong enough that drac tries to bite him and he automatically grabs drac by the back of the collar#and relocates him to the newly declared Time Out Corner#drac runs away to hide in his room pondering his life choices#while mae realizes 'oh wait. that was a vampire'#because hey an angry guy wearing all black attacking you with his teeth? that describes teenage caranthir pretty well

So like. I played inquisiton as my first dragon age game yeah? And when you don't load a world state in, the default Hawke is a male Hawke (mage I think? Or maybe it was warrior sorry I don't remember) who didn't romance anyone.
So like. I was doing (or getting ready to do I guess) here lies the abyss, and there's this scene between Varric and Hawke which I'm assuming only occurs when Hawke is unromanced cause I havent gotten it since. And I cannot for the life of me remember what they were saying, but I very vividly remember seeing the two of them chilling outside the war room and went "oh so they're fucking. They're gay they've gotta be. Do I need to give them space? I feel like I'm intruding in a private moment damn"
Anyways for a good while I was convinced varric and Hawke were gay lovers and that's why Varric was Like That about him. I then left Hawke in the fade to create the true doomed yaoi or whatever. First playthrough was crazy
#dragon age#varrichawke#hawke dragon age#varric tethras#i need to make a hawke that's in love with varric man#i think about this constantly btw. cant believe i pinned their dynamic with 0 context about their stories#i didnt even realize hawke WAS a previous protagonist when i got to that scene!!! i was just like 'ah. they fucked'#varric's homoeroticism for his best friend transcends all#hes so down bad for hawke that someone with no clue about ANYTHING about their dynamic can pin it down#sorry i still think this is funny#my first dai run was. something.#also the default warden is mahariel i think#or was it tabris? idk she sacrificed herself#go girl!!!

Why is Erik taking a shower and is fully prepared to fight naked in that panel 😭
my man turning into a baby is a typical tuesday activity but the second he wanna little naked shower fight NOW its suspicious 🤨
#snap chats#cant a man be a lil hostile and naked in his home ... 'his' home ... w/e ...#this is the part where i reward tag readers CONTEXT TIME#i mean. it's not crazy context but anyway#erik went for a swim and As You Do went to shower off once he was done. cant have chlorine in the hair.... gon damage his beautiful locks..#he was shavin in the shower when he hears someone come in so Naturally he assumes the worst as this is Xavier's School For Gifted Youngster#never a moment of peace not even to shower and shave ..#'whyd he go for a swim' I Dont Know he really just decides on that. maybe it was a complex way to give him a weapon#maybe they just wanted to draw him naked and in a speedo I Dont Know 2x sounds like something id do frankly#the context is pretty much isolated from the story- like it's more of a scene starter and reintroduces tom and sharon into the plot#CONTEXT: tom and sharon are Effectively erik's coworkers at the school who caught one of emma's students- empath- acting a fool on site#empath- as it may be assumed- has the ability to mess with people's emotions and so. how we say.#'had tom and sharon distract each other' for a few hours while he fucked around the mansion and more specifically#fucked with erik's emotions to make him depressed enough to give up the new mutants to emma#Hence the mansion was virtually empty bar danielle and warlock which probably didnt help make erik Less paranoid of sudden noises#hence .... razorblade combat time ... but yeah once he realizes its just tom and sharon he's like Oh Fuck The Hell Happened#and then he gets super pissed once he realizes empath kinda tricked him into giving up his kids 🥰#god i love this issue i really do .. cant wait til next month where i can read what happens next ..#'snap you have the internet' OK AND I LIKE MY PHYSICAL MEDIA. plus i like this arc so far i want a physical of it ...#but yeah thats why eriks naked and prepared to cut someone with a razor. you can learn more in The New Mutants number 39 :]

Okay it's two am here (happy pride everyone lol) but I just finished rewatching the new doctor who episode and I'm still blown away by how well done the "his last name is coombs" scene is. Like before that it was a kind of generic episode where there's a bad situation and people are escaping it and the main character seems kind of dickish and incompetent but presumably their arc is to grow and improve over the course of the episode and there might be a moment where this more capable person who's helping them sacrifices themselves to save them and—
And then we get the first big subversion and when I tell you that hit me like a fucking truck and the whole perspective shifts and you realize that this is not the story you thought it was
#I'm not very good at articulating this rn but idk that scene was so well done#I'm not very good at picking up details and putting them together so a lot of time when watching stuff i notice something that seems weird#and just assume i just don't get it but it's supposed to make sense if i have the context#and so that's what happened for some of those earlier warning signs#(and imo some of that is also bc of low confidence in the writers to actually have those be intentional microagressions and casting choices#rather than bc they're overlooking things)#but the scene where she sacrifices Ricky is the massive wake up call#that makes even the most oblivious viewer realize that This Is Not Going To Go The Way You Think#doctor who#dot and bubble#doctor who spoilers#dw spoilers
