What i love about sara taylor from step right up adventure isle is not cause she's just really pretty (even tho she is and i love that about her obviously) but it's that she looks like her design was actually pulled out of a creepypasta, she fits the vibe of a early 2000's victim of those stories so well down to the ripped up jeans, the shoe's, the un-tied laces, the hair and sweater, and the beanie.

like as a original design, she's a perfect representation of a horror victim but still managing to look pretty cool and have her own fun personality and likes.

now that i checked out the first episode of all the yuriful shows i was keeping an eye on, here’s my first thoughts and impressions

Mayonaka Punch

thoughts on episode 1: LOVED IT SO SO MUCH!!! i love the mc already she’s such a mess and i already love the dynamic between her and the raging vampire lesbian. my favorite from the ones on this list tbh!! need more cancelled youtubers and horny for blood lesbian vampires. also i have a weak spot for anime with adult characters who can drink alcohol and get wasted lol. WILL be watching EAGERLY.

yuri thoughts 🌸: the yuri looks solid!! there was verbal mention of lesbian romantic feelings. and as in most vampire shows, blood drinking is metaphor for sex but it’s made quite explicit in this one which increases the yuri score. the protagonists have already a v interesting dynamic im invested.

thoughts on episode 1: “shiiiika 🦌!!!” okay y’all know i love me some gag humor anime but tbqh im feeling kinda lukewarm on this one. maybe it’s bc i had rly high expectations for this but idk most of the gags did not hit as nice as i hoped. tho some of them were brilliant (also looove the constant breaking of the fourth wall). not looking forward to the siscon character that’s gonna be introduced. will be continuing but might drop if i get bored. however i loved how they Did mention that only male deer have horns sooo… noko transbian 🦌🏳️‍⚧️?

yuri thoughts 🌸: the two protagonists have great yuri potential!! torako has already shown she’s a huge girl kisser and noko just keeps teasing her, which is a great dynamic imo. also torako’s va is hatsune miku’s voice provider, and we all know hatsune miku is transbian goddess so!

thoughts on episode 1: once again maybe unpopular opinion but im not completely sold on this one. yes it’s fun, yes she’s unhinged, yes they’re all absolutely raging homosexuals BUT idk how to explain it but it feels very much male oriented. idk i think i feel this way bc it’s my personal pet peeve when otaku shows focus mostly on men as the intended audience (for example, when they showed her audience, all the viewers were men which like. they could have shown at least one woman who likes watching her videos yknow?). so anyway. at least it’s incredibly gay? and once again, love characters gettinf drunk lol. but idk i feel like this was made to ride the wave of hololive and get men on twitter to share funny clips idk. i like how they use actual vtuber avatars in certain scenes, and i get the vibe they’ll want to make these girls real vtubers, hence why we dont see what they actually look like but just their vtuber persona. will be checking out more ep but will drop if it gets too meh.

I was wondering if you could write something for aegon along the lines of aemond and reader are married but bc aemond wants to give her space and “spare” her of his company and doesnt wanna scare her bc of his appearance and demeanor they dont talk at all and theyre like strangers, sort of like aemond thinks he’s doing the right thing by leaving her be but in reality she just wants to be loved by her husband and one day aegon finds her sobbing about aemond bc she just wants to be loved by him. Bc shes crying abt his “perfect” brother he feels better abt himself bc hes thinking “my brother isnt the perfect son” and so he decides to befriend her and they kind of bond over the fact that theyre both really lonely in kings landing. Ik this is probably rlly off for his character tbh so if you dont want to do it thats okay! Ik some ppl r really iffy abt writing abt aegon so if thats the case just ignore the ask im sorry to bother! But I love ur writing sm and hope u have a great day~

gwen’s note: i need to say this before writing your req because it is important to me. but i really think aegon, as well as many other characters from hotd, is very complex. however we can’t overlook the awful things he’s done, that’s why i think that the only way of writing him is by trying to understand from where it comes, why he is the way he is, etc. (but not defend him, never defend him for being a rapist) and diverge from his character. hotd writers made it really hard to sympathize with him given that the first scene they gave us of older aegon was THAT scene. and again, i would never defend aegon from what he did, that is inexcusable, it does not matter how much he suffered or how alone he feels, he should have never done that. that is why if i write aegon i would always try to get as close as possible to what i think of this complex character (just as i have been doing with aemond) and always have his feelings and experiences in mind, i will never minimize what he and everyone has been through. and bc in fanfic you can write whatever you want, i’ve been saying that since the beginning. aegon is not a good person but i believe that if they give him a chance, he would definitely try to be better. and i fully believe that aegon has a heart and deep down he cares, we see glimpses of that in the show. so after saying that, if i diverge from what the show has showed us about aegon or what YOU think about him, remember that everyone has their own opinions and if you don’t like them, be respectful and simply block me (this is not directed at you but to everyone in general). hope you enjoy! <3

crying in public was not a good idea, but being under the weirwood tree made you miss home.

“do you feel well?” a man’s voice startles you, and you are quick to wipe the tears still falling from your eyes, trying to pull yourself together before turning around.

you are surprised to see prince aegon standing a few feet away from you, genuine concern on his face.

you want very hard to say yes but you can’t say the words, so you just simply shake your head as more tears start falling from your eyes.

aegon doesn’t know what to do. he never knows what to do when someone cries in front of him, he’s not used to this kind of behavior. he can’t remember a time when someone from his family cried in front of him and he comforted them. or if they comforted him. because that never happened. so he doesn’t know if he should keep walking and leave you alone, or ask what’s happening. however, his legs are moving towards you before he can make a decision.

and you don’t know what to do. should you excuse yourself and run out of there? but your legs don’t move and your eyes can’t leave his face, lilac gaze studying your body, but not in a creepy and sexual way. it’s also the first time you and the prince are alone and you thought when that happened, you would feel uncomfortable, rumors fly fast inside and outside the red keep and prince aegon is the main protagonist in all of them. however you feel strangely calm.

“does this have to do with my brother?” aegon dares to ask. he knows your marriage is not an easy one, mostly because aemond is very cold towards you. he has seen you alone together just a couple of times and in all of them you’ve been looking sad and uncomfortable while his younger brother showed nothing with his expression.

it is sad to know prince aegon knows why you’re sad. does everyone in the red keep notice how unhappy you truly are?

aegon sits beside you, his hands on his lap as you move away making space for him on the little bench.

“i just feel so… alone.” you let your guard down, after all he is the one asking and you so desperately need someone to talk to, anyone, and if that person turns out to be the prince, then so be it.

aegon laughs bitterly, looking to his feet playing with a few leaves that had fallen from the tree. he knows that feeling too well, he has been feeling alone his whole life.

“and— and i can’t say anything to him because he doesn’t listen to me. it’s like i’m talking to a wall.” you sob, wiping your nose with the back of your hand.

prince aemond is your husband. but he’s also a total stranger too. you barely talk, he almost never looks at you and you haven’t consummate your marriage, something everyone is expecting for you to do. but how are you supposed to do it when he openly shows how much you bother him?

“i’m a burden to him!” you hide behind your palms, tears still falling from your eyes.

aegon feels a little better to know that his brother is stuck in a loveless marriage just like him. they might be very different but neither of them were able to escape from duty.

however, aegon feels something weird growing in his chest, something that doesn’t make him feel that much better. not while knowing that you’re hurting because of his brother.

aegon parts his lips, debating whether or not to say what he has not say to anyone. ever. because open up to someone is not something aegon targaryen has done before, he’s pretty good at hiding his feelings in a bottle of liquor. or a couple.

“i feel alone, too.” aegon looks for the right words but they don’t come to his mind and he feels very vulnerable. “i am a burden to everyone. my family. the servants. my own father doesn’t want anything to do with me.”

what the prince says is no surprise to you. you’ve heard the servants talking about the prince and how they wish to never be in the receiving end of one of his outbursts.

“see?” he says and you lift your gaze, turning to look at him, who is already looking with his lips curved in a small smile. “we have something in common! we’re not entirely alone.”

the kind gesture of prince aegon of trying to make you feel better is not something anyone would do, not in king’s landing at least, much less by saying something so personal. but it makes you smile through your tears.

it is strange, sitting on a bench with aegon targaryen, talking and being vulnerable. this definitely wasn’t on your list this morning when you woke up, but it is something you’re always going to remember.

“now,” aegon says, drawing out a handkerchief and holding it out to you. shyly, you accept it. “i am sure you miss home and i have nothing else to do… so why don’t you tell me everything i need to know about winterfell?”

your heart fills with pride and longing. and as you wipe your tears you start telling him about those cold and happy days of your childhood while prince aegon listens very closely.

love this oc sm, I’m making her a protagonist for a little project I call ‘fantasy with herbs-n-spices’. just image a reverse magical girl, instead of turning all cute and a powerful, and get a costume change, you get so angry your hair burns up, you literally start fuming, and have the wrath of a hundred beasts…. That my friends is the perfect why to describe cuisine greats power; her wrath. But she isn’t all about wrath, in fact she’s lovely to chat with. She’s mighty smart so any crime that needs solving she’s bound to do.

yukari is genuinely just soo well written I can literally go on and on about her she's just everything to me, while I haven't watched the answer but I do know some of the things she says, and you know it all ties down to grief and emotions, yukari is seen at the beginning of the game to be someone that doesn't showcase her deep troubles but she confides in the protagonist upon learning their similarities, yukari and the protagonist (whether it's makoto or kotone) have a great bond, because she finally finds someone she is connected to and someone who understands her, she even had a strained relationship with her mother ehich also brought alot of trouble in her mind even if she didn't want to admit it, yukari as a character had such a good development, it even showcases in her bonds with characters like mitsuru who she was not comfortable around but as time progressed she started to look up to her, the protagonist helped her open up alot more, and shes genuinely one of the strongest characters emotionally too, she was the one to snap mitsuru out of her troubles and she has always been such a good sister figure to ken too, there are minor moments in the game where she looks after him and cares for him deeply, it's rlly frustrating to see people hate on her because she's " mean" (god forbid girls have hobbies), she is more than that, she's one of the most well written characters along with aigis and I hate that no one talks about it! at the end of the day she's just a teenager that literally fought to save the world, plus she's literally the cutest and silliest lil thing ever???? I don't know how anyone can even hate the silly. anyways I love yukari sm I'm her biggest defender

When lock down started and I was getting bored, I was 13 years old that time and I was big fan of beyblade g revolution sports anime which is popular in India. So in curiosity I searched who is (my favourite character) kai hiwatari's wife? Then I came across fanfiction net, then I knew about about fiction stories then I accidentally read about Tyson(main protagonist)x kai fiction, it contained sm*t so yeah then I knew that even boys can be with each other. So I started read all those fictions then I came to wattpad then with one fiction the author mentioned that he/she shipped sasunaru so I was curious about them.

So I started to read fabrics about them even though I didn't see a single episode till this date. Then I was bored with fiction so I came to Twitter and Instagram naruto fandom I saw many toxic things there...

Then when I came across a narusasu shipper in Instagram and I was scrolling her stories there she/he showed @maoam post screenshot in curiosity I downloaded tumblr and searched about moaom then I saw her theories and facts and I was shocked at the new things I learned.

I accept first I used to ship sasuke and naruto because I thought they were cute but now I am starting to read chapters of manga to learn the full story in the manga after seeing all of sns posts from the above people I think it's better if I stay away with studio peirrot stuff.

Now I stopped with shipping every male characters then ...

You all made me realise about true homosexuality.

Hello. It's great that you have started to read the manga. The fanfics wouldn't really have the desired effect on the reader anyway unless they read or watch the original, the source material. You can watch the anime, but I suggest sticking to just the canon episodes and even though some of them are mixed canon, it will still have the desired effect on you. The canon episodes don't really stray that much from manga overall.

Most fanfic writers have no idea how homosexuality works and it becomes quite clear after a page or two that it's straight people writing a gay couple. It's mostly really just jerk off material for them anyway, for them to conveniently self insert. They are there just for the smut, they project their heterosexuality over the boys and their relationship. Forget nuances of a gay relationship, they hardly even understand their relationship in canon or the canon narrative. There's no better media in Naruto than the original story anyway. It will give you all the feels that a hundred fanfics cannot give you. At least I haven't found a fanfic that truly captures the SNS dynamic and their characters with all their nuances yet.

Paarthurnax (old, wise, committed atrocities in the past but he's trying to repent... what's not to like?)

Lyn (badass and elegant at the same time! She's my favourite character to use during tournaments in FEH)

Claude (i simp for this man so much it's unreal)

The Emerged World:

Nihal (an incredible warrior, worthy of legends and all the highest honors)

Sennar (a fool in love, redhead mage, powerful and loyal. the perfect man)

Laio (i'm still not over him. my small boy, he deserved so much more)

Aster (the twist when Nihal finally confronts him is still one of my favourites in all of fiction. an incredibly well written villain)

Learco (I was rooting for him since he was first introduced, I knew he was a good man at his core. Besides, he and Dubhe are an incredibly cute couple)

Adhara (I actually haven't read all of the third trilogy but I have a feeling she'll do great things. I just wonder...who was she, before losing her memories?)

Pippin (he's so tiny! billy boyd's interpretation of him in the movies is so good.)

Boromir (he's so much more than what people usually make him out to be. I guess I have a thing for people who do bad stuff but then try to redeem even though the price to pay for it is their life)

Elrond (a king, a strong warrior, who's also as gentle as summer)

Randolph Carter (I find it kinda inspirational that he always manages to get through whatever his bizarre life throws at him: it's like he's oblivious to the fact he's supposed to be in a series of horror stories - except maybe for "The Statement" - Warren's death really shook him... But then in Dream Quest it seems like he's having the time of his life. Also, I love the way the fandom treats him, he's like a treasure)

my review of jojo’s bizarre adventure: diamond is unbreakable

hi everyone! yesterday i finished part 4 of jojos and it was rly fun so i figured I’d do a little mini review of what i thought!

character analysis

ok so I’m just gonna run through the main cast of characters bc it would take way to long to do everyone haha

1. higashikata josuke

josuke being the main protagonist of part 4 fit so perfectly. i felt like he had a great balance between the two previous jojos, he had the silliness of joseph but could get serious like jotaro in a fight. i would say he ranks number 3 on my favorite jojos protagonists (1 being jotaro and 2 being Joseph) but i did enjoy his character a lot! there were just others in the season that stuck out to me more.

2. nijimura okuyasu

what a lovely jobro. i enjoyed this character so fucking much. i always love the kind of dumb characters and he’s a perfect example LOL. i also just loved seeing his character develop into someone independent from his brother. he also delivered some of the funniest moments in the part.

3. hirose koichi

an adorable boy we must protect. i love koichi sm you guys. echoes 3 is hilarious. this is just an all around great character he’s genuinely a wonderful person and tends to see the best in people. he’s also just so reliable

4. kujo jotaro

ok I’m gonna start my saying I’m so bias towards this man being he is my favorite jojo and favorite character in general. but i did rly enjoy seeing him again in this part. he took a bit of a back seat to let josuke shine, but he still DELIVERED that final blow which I’m gonna talk abt a little later.

5. kishibe rohan

i love this man so much. would do anything for him. beautiful boy. he’s pretty and driven and has a bit of sass. perfect 10/10.

6. joseph joestar

Joseph was a major side character in this one but i did enjoy his usual antics. my opinion of him is a bit lower after the whole cheating on his wife thing, but i feel like the main reasoning was just so araki could introduce another jojo so i try not to think of it too much. but i absolutely love the va in this part, i haven’t done my research but he sounds exactly like kizaru from one piece aka my favorite marine. so that was great. also the way he just TOOK the baby at the end. like oh yeah we couldn’t find the mother (did they even look???) so i just took this thing overseas with me. classic Joseph

7. yamagishi yukako

one of the most interesting characters. female characters aren’t very prominent so far in this series so she was definitely a stand out. and the CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. seeing her grow from the obsessive control freak she was in the beginning to a genuinely loving person was beautiful. i throughly enjoyed the redemption episodes with the Cinderella salon. and koichi was just a sweetheart there too.

8. kira yoshikage

phenomenal writing. this man was GENUINELY terrifying. god during that bath scene and the entire sequence of bites the dust genuinely had me just as afraid as little hayato. up until the “when i first saw the Mona Lisa i had an erection” moment, that man did not fail to frighten me. all the past main antagonists being dio and kars had some silliness (in dios case A LOT) so it was easier to not take them seriously but this guy???? wow.

favorite moments

1. the Italian restaurant

fucking hilarious. one of the best episodes of the whole season imo.

2. Joseph buys the entire fucking baby store

god help him

3. the detail of rohan being there the night reimi was murdered

tugged at the heartstrings. also later on when he said he’ll miss her, breaking his arrogant facade. beautiful.

4. Cinderella salon

i mentioned this earlier but i loved this whole episode. the development between koichi and yukako was so much fun to watch.

5. the first encounter with Kira yoshikage

these few episodes were insanely creepy but set the stage for part 4s main antagonist perfectly. Being backed into a corner just to take the identity of another truly just had my adrenaline rushing

6. The bites the dust sequence

as mentioned before, this was just a masterpiece. psychologically terrifying, we are put directly in the POV of hayato and feel every bit of fear and despair he does. May i also say i was absolutely horrified before they revealed this ability bc i truly thought Rohan died.

7. star platinum ZA WARUDO

yeah. this was so needed. the entire final fight i was just dying to see jotaro show up and kick some ass. and when it finally happened it was SO satisfying. ora ora bitch.

8. reimi sends kira straight to hell

UGH I LOVED IT i cant even rly put into words u just need to watch it

andddd that about does it. this is my second favorite part so far, stardust crusaders still has a very special place in my heart. but i enjoyed this season nonetheless. i am about 7 episodes into part 5 now, so when I’m done with that one expect a review!! until then…

The welcomed (but completely unnecessary) presence of Céline Dion cannot save Love Again from being amazingly trite.

Love Again is a big deal in Quebec, as it will mark the first film role of Céline Dion (as herself, of course. Who wouldn’t want to achieve this legendary status?). I’m curious to find out the box office numbers in the province this weekend. Still, Céline fans will not be disappointed at her appearances in the movie and at the multiple nods to Georges-Hébert Germain’s 1998 “Céline: The Authorized Biography”. Hell, our male protagonist, Rob (Sam Heughan) reads the book frequently to get to know more about the person he’s going to profile.

Rob is a music critic who feels he’s not the right person for the job to profile Dion, as he recently suffered a bad breakup and can’t handle her love songs. His boss (Steve Oram) believes he’s the right person for the job. Rob receives a professional cellphone as a gift. Still, he starts to receive cryptic text messages from a number belonging to Mira Ray (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), who believes she is texting the phone number of her deceased boyfriend, John (Arinzé Kene). He passed away two years before, and the audience sees this tonally jarring scene at the top of the film that sets the stage for how clichéd and exhaustingly boring the whole affair is going to be.

Then Céline Dion comes into play, badly shoehorned into a movie that does not need her presence. As herself, Dion is fine, but her appearance doesn’t make sense. The film was based on a 2016 German film titled SMS für Dich (which I, unfortunately, did not get a chance to see as it was unavailable pretty much everywhere), which in turn was based on the novel of the same name by Sofie Cramer. I may be wrong, but my preliminary research shows that no pop singer is giving advice on love to our protagonists in those source materials. So what is Céline Dion doing here?

Of course, some will argue that the underlying theme of the film is love, and that Dion is the epitome of love, as she sang songs like “My Heart Will Go On”, “Because You Loved Me”, “The Power of Love”, and released albums like “S’il suffisait d’aimer” (also a song), “Let’s Talk About Love”, “Falling Into You”, “These Are Special Times”, “Loved Me Back to Life”, “The Colour of My Love”— you get the idea. Dion also lost her husband (and manager) René Angélil, who passed away in 2016. She has always described him as “the love of my life,” and does so frequently in this film. In isolation, this all makes sense. And it would’ve made more sense if the film was about a fictionalized version of Dion inside a story that allows her to heal from that loss.

What doesn’t make sense is how she’s integrated into the story about something completely different. Like, why is she here? Every time she’s on screen, it’s great because Dion has always had a legendary presence in Quebec media. Still, one can’t help but think she adds nothing to the film, especially with its main relationship that feels so Hallmark-lite in how unimaginative it is. Rob falls in love with Mira by reading her texts addressed to her dead boyfriend? That’s just… creepy. But it does have something in common with another 2023 romcom, Your Place or Mine, where the realization that one character is in love with the other is done when they’re apart (in this case, they don’t know each other). Much like Your Place or Mine, the two leads have virtually no chemistry when they go together.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a charming actress and is quite funny in a scene where she’s paired with her real-life husband Nick Jonas (playing a total douche as a date), but can’t match with Heughan, who is as flat and unengaging as Ashton Kutcher was in Your Place or Mine. It doesn’t help that their relationship is filled with endless clichés, from the moment they accidentally “meet” to their first date to the (predictable) scene where she inevitably finds out about the texts. Their reconciliation is amazingly baffling, but one would’ve thought this is where the filmmakers would save the best Céline Dion scene for last, yet…it never comes.

Love Again never coalesces into something interesting. The leads aren’t a “perfect match,” and Céline Dion’s fictionalized version of herself doesn’t feel as inspired by the material as Chopra Jonas, who tries so hard to make this movie work (her phone call with Céline is quite magical). However, it’s not enough for the movie to work. This is all stuff audiences have seen before and done even cheaply on the Hallmark channel, where they at least acknowledge their lack of originality. Wasting Céline like this feels criminal. She deserves better. We all deserve better than a film like Love Again.

Love Again will be released in US theaters on May 5, 2023.

Hi Spooky !! So I’ve been getting through some of the recs you gave me for my Halloween marathon :33 AND i saw Child’s Play — which i liked way more than I thought i would, like it’s genuinely pretty funny And i cant wait to watch the sequels, leTS FUCKING GOOO — Yesterday was Idle Hands which sksksks wanna a silly little movie, ‘twas truly delightful, all the characters are fun/cool except for Anton most of the movie so it took a while for me to feel bad for him, BUT i did eventually, i really enjoyed it so it’s definitely up there for the rewatchbility of it !! — I CANT REMEMBER IF YOU RECOMMENDED POLTERGEIST OR NOT ??? I think you did but anyways I really liked it !!! The supernatural stuff is pretty mild + the 80s special effects make it not that scary to me, also i felt really bad for that fucking family ? What the hell ?!?! The dad was the fucking mvp he did The Most and he looked great doing it (10/10 - could watch again)

NOW for movies that ik you didn’t recommend but have been mentioned here at some point: Black Telephone and Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker. I saw someone recommended BT for you a whole ago and if you haven’t had the time yet to watch it please know it’s super worth it !!!! The main characters are really good and interesting and the acting is just phenomenal, specIALLY THE KIDS WTH, AND theres a bit of a supernatural thing to it but it was just fun/good for the plot and not so much trying to get you to shit ur pants, ya know?

AND for BBNM, i was very excited for this movie, to me it was a classic like 80s slasher, the tENSION, the creative like weapon choices, the like twist/break the killer goes through (like after its clear to us/other characters they did it) and THE ACTORS ARE JUST PHENOMENAL — like the aunt is/has been basically grooming her nephew since he was 3 and god does it show, some scenes are so creepy, and moments were someone would you know question her/ her actions, he doesn’t even Think to doubt her, it was terrible (but in a good way, story wise) OH AND BILL PAXTON, he doesn’t show up a lot (i think with dialogue for 2 or 3 scenes maybe) and he plays classic homophobic with daddy issues so 😐 but he did look good tho so theres that

POLTERGEIST! That completely slipped my mind, I didn't watch it often but I do remember parts of it and it's really good. And I did see the black phone!!! It was so good I mean the protagonist was so smart and using the ghost of the children was a haunting aspect I didn't expect but so glad they did it. Gwen was my favorite character she reminded me of how I was as a kid and I also have prophetic dreams like her. So does my one grandmother. We both dream of family deaths and major events going to happen and it almost always comes true so it was so different to see them utilize that in the movie. I went in expecting a kidnapping survival and got so much more!!

And bro I have GOT to watch it!! I couldn't find it under Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker so I saw someone recommend searching Night Warning and there it is (Idk why they picked these titles bc it makes it so much harder to find bro ong) and yeeaahhh I kind of expect the homophobia and sexism in 80s movies I just try to take it with a grain of salt I think that's why I like Lost Boys and Near Dark sm bc...Wow...An 80s movie with an 80s aesthetic...and no homophobia or sexism or racism? OMFG FINALLY!!

Another one with Bill I watched but was HORRIBLE was Boxing Helena. I'm usually not a snob with movies but it was like bad cheesy softcore porn for someone with weird fetishes. The guy/doctor is basically an incest mommy issues guy bc of his vapid mother who just 'died' out of nowhere and he inherited her home and he's engaged to a wonderful woman that is also a doctor and too good for him but the kicker is he is OBSESSED with a woman that he had a one night stand with years ago and wants nothing to do with him but he's a toxic fucking weirdo that does everything he can (Including cutting her limbs off....You heard me.) in order to make her dependent on him bc...Shocker; she reminds him of his shitty Mom. You are filthy rich go to therapy you freak. I felt zero remorse for him and the movie tries to make you sympathize with him and it's like...Why?

My doodle is based on the Envy Baby MV illust by LAM, and Mochizuki Kei's illust of the Mafumafu (Utaite) fan cover. Their art styles are so strong… LAM has a great painting style, and MochiKei has really strong lineart and colours

Raon Lee's fan cover of Envy Baby is my personal favourite! She has such a powerful belting voice and I love her growls. Since she's fluent in KR, JP, and EN, she makes really good translations/song lyrics for her song covers.

Kind of a shame that the card covers up the dots on his face, but oh well 😭 Quick 1 hour sketch cuz I just wanted to get the concept down, I'll draw more interesting patterns on the balloons and playing card eventually

Literally no one fits this song more than Douman (FGO). Envy Baby is a song about "twisted love" and love being an obstacle, with the center character being drawn with clown and circus motifs.

Douman is an evil gay clown demon (major FGO antagonist) who hates humanity and doesn't understand love, but after being defeated by Ritsuka (FGO's protagonist), is trying to learn how to love this human. LimGuda (Douman (Limbo) x Ritsuka (Guda)) is spicy as hell and deadly romantic... My fave FGO ship forever!!!

It is PERFECT for Douman and the LimGuda ship.

But I wanted to try my hand at a Kuroha crossover.

Also cuz Tsukimiyama already drew a Douman x Envy Baby crossover with their gorgeous art (and also did a Douman UTAU jinriki cover). For a UTAU jinriki, the tuning is nice ^^ They have a great painting style. I LOOOOVE the Douman UTAU fan-cover sm... UTAUs are fan-made Vocaloids, and the people who make UTAUs and UTAU jinrikis usually make art and tune their fan-covers as well ^^

The only second runner ups that I can think of who would fit this song almost as well as Douman, would be Nikolai (BSD), another GNC gay clown - go figure, and Tyki (DGM) due to his playing card aesthetic.

Funny how the song starts with "Hi I wanna people save" All these bitches are doing the opposite of people saving LMFAO They're murderous as hell!

Spider-Man Read-Through 059: The Prophecy of Madame Web (ASM 207-212)

We meet the protagonist of the biggest superhero movie of the last decade.

Also: a lot of Peter Parker thirst.

Let's gooo!

Hey, our little guy changed!

That's nice to see. We also get a promising first page:

So Peter's on a date with Debby Whitman. Debby?

Oh, right. Debra!

So they're at a show where Mesmero hypnotized a member of the audience. Peter investigates nude-feet-style, just like ages ago when he was on a date with Gwen. He ends up putting out a fire, discreetly... or so he thinks. Mesmero noticed his web, and announces to the audience that he thinks SM is here and he has something to discuss with him.

Peter quickly gets rid of his date and talks to Mesmero, who offers him weekly money in exchange for a 15 minutes appearance. Spidey says, "sure!".

Except that Mesmero's reputation is currently awful, and criticism in a newspaper makes him go berserk. That is, he hypnotizes a guy to jump from a bridge.

Meanwhile, Jameson's back at the Bugle! Wouldn't want too many changes in ASM, would we now?

At first, Spidey thinks of catching our guy with his web, but he remembers what happened with Gwen (nice!) and catches him more graciously. Our critic gives free tickets to a show to Spidey as thanks, and Peter soon invites Debra to make amends.

When later, Spidey goes back to Mesmero to talk, he quickly gets zapped with electrified bills... and misses his appointment with Debra. Poor girl. It's not even fun to watch her be disappointed again and again, she's just a chew toy for the universe to step on.

Spidey's forced to do a circus number, but soon KOs out villain.

In the readers' letters, let's just say people are NOT fans of our Miss April Maye. Stern says this might even be a fake name... who could have predicted this, oh my?

#208 has a nice first page, and... Romita Jr worked on the layouts! Alright, mister...

In a research lab, a scientist is a jerk to his janitor twin brother. And when he starts his big machine, it explodes in his face. His selfless brother tries to save him and gets absorbed instead.

At the Daily Globe, Donald Trump arrives.

I'm fascinated by Peter's outfit. I kind of love it... but also kind of hate it. Nice hair, though.

Bushkin also introduces Peter to his new colleague and fellow photographer, Lance Bannon. I expected Eddie Brock, but maybe later.

To get in a better mood, Peter goes to the hospital to pay a visit to Anna Watson with Aunt May. She says they just missed MJ!

Oh, the open belt...! Sir!

The ruckus is of course caused by our new villain, Fusion (the two brothers!), and when she sees the two super-powered beings by the window, May says Spidey isn't as bad as the media say. Character development, yay!

Fusion escapes Spidey's grasp, and it's clear that the two brothers aren't of the same mind concerning their current state. When peter comes back to the hospital room and says he went to talk to a nurse he knows, May says "My Peter's getting interested in girls, Anna". First of all, that's uncalled for, but also, damn May, are you still thinking that your Peter might be gay? (He's bisexual, you're not completely off the mark.)

Thanks to some cops, Spidey quickly finds back Fusion. Twice during this issue does he feel ridiculized by the crowds laughing at him. I feel like it never happened before... Is this element going somewhere? It certainly feels uncharacteristic.

Anyway, he separates the two brothers with the help of the janitor one, and... the issue ends here. They still have their power. That's not an ending. *sigh*

Oh, great shading!!! And Kraven too! By that point, I assume he won't shoot lasers out of his nipples, but a small part of myself still hopes...

We start with Kraven saying to his girlfriend Calypso that THIS TIME, FOR SURE, he'll get rid of our hero... Sure.

Loving the art, even though Peter doesn't necessarily look very much like himself in that third panel, but the clothes!!!! The clothes, people!!!!! Jesus. Is that really a summer outfit though?

Debra's worried about her old uncle working at the docks, and when she asks Peter if with his connections, he could do something to check on him, he rebuffs her. She's understandably saddened, and he ends up going anyway, as Spidey naturally.

Gorgeous middle panels. Also, Kraven's heart skips when he sees Spidey. Not very heterosexual of him. Calypso wants to see her man be a man, so she frees up some animals who cause chaos in the city. Kraven saves the ones he can catch, and Spidey helps too.

And suddenly...

Well well well...

What do we have here...

Didn't expect to see a near naked lady on there but good for her!

Calypso wants violence and tries hard to convince Kraven that Spidey's the one who opened the locks.

I'm loving the eagerness to show skin around here, I'm telling you. Also love how Bushkin looks in the first panel.

Fascinating panels, because Peter looks extremely different in the middle panel, but oh lord is he gorgeous in the other two. And also: a professor having a relationship with a female student? Oh, we almost got that a few issues ago! How interesting.

Spider-Woman has a cameo, where she ponders on how she almost sent Dockery in jail, but since it's Spidey's territory, she can't do anything.

... No but seriously, Peter's gorgeous...

Ahem. Kraven barges in the Daily Globe and activates a Spider-Tracer he conveniently has. Spidey has to show up tonight for a one-on-one battle!

They fight in a museum, while Calypso laughs gleefully in the shadows.

Very subtle there, Spidey. Oh well!

So far I'm really into "the grotesque 80s art". Beats those 90s covers where Spidey's web looks like iron. Anyway, hi Bell! You're going too fast for me but whatever. Someone appreciates the detail and the shading! It's a really strong issue. I also liked Kraven there.

Anyway, issue #210!

It's time to meet the star of 2024's masterpiece "Madame Web".

Well, Debra's definitely gotten used to Peter's repeated abandonments. You deserve better, girl! At least she doesn't seem so sad anymore. More... resigned. I mean, I would probably accept anything if my boyfriend was Peter Parker too... except maybe when he wears that outfit. I'm not sold on that one.

At the Globe, armed people attack the head office and kidnapp Ms. Clayton. Pursuing them, Spidey finds that same paper of Madame Web.

Hey, that page has really nice composition.

Anyway, of course, what welcomes Spidey is... a vision.

Madame Web quickly informs Spidey that to find Ms. Clayton, he'll have to find one Belinda Bell. Turns out Belinda was impersonating Ms. Clayton in a complex plan for Dockery to get the Daily Globe!

Spidey quickly saves both the actress and the real Ms. Clayton, and catches Dockery.

I wish I was that newspaper.

And that ending is absolutely hilarious...

In #211, we see none other than Namor!

And this is a gorgeous first page, I have to say.

So Namor has his typical war against human waste. As for Peter?

Oh. Oh YES. Absolutely. Thank you. It is... glorious. I hereby declare this issue to be a 10 out of 10.

So Spidey goes out and thinks he could finally check on Debra Whitman's uncle. Turns out the latter is getting attacked at this very moment by his crew, who refuse to deliver a scientist and a machine to the ocean.

The next day, at ESU, Debra tells Peter she's worried even more about her uncle, because he decided to navigate the boat himself, since nobody else wants to do it. I'm happy to at least see her be a bit more developed. I'm starting to like her, even!

Gorgeous. I absolutely love his outfit even though I dislike jeans, but it works so well here! The colors...!

He decides to go see May to get in a better mood. There, his aunt is... teaching curling to the residents! Why not. And she nudges Peter to go help Debra's uncle.

Namor appears when they're at sea, and a fight breaks out.

They get over it and Namor even helps them, how nice!

Time for #212!

More than 14 hours have passed since the last issue, and they're naturally still on the boat. Debra's uncle (continued storyline, woohoo!) mentions Murphy's Law, which is funny because I watched Interstellar for the first time like two days ago.

An accident with crates occur, and one man falls under the sea. Spidey saves him, but the man can't seem to dry...

No matter. Peter gets back safely on land and catches Jameson's call. Work for him! Great. He also calls Debbie!

Great set of panel. I like that it seems to give actual weight to their relationship.

We have a scene with our wet guy at a bar and I might have felt sympathy for him for a second, but then he showed his misogynistic side and it was over.

Hydro-Man (presumably, given the cover of the issue) discovered he can become water and morph it, he becomes angry and starts searching through the whole city for Spider-Man. Sure.

MORE IMPORTANTLY.

Oh, that red shirt will be the death of me!

Of course, Peter quickly asks Debra to stay out of this, because of course he does. She accepts it.

There's a fun countdown, we always love countdowns.

Spidey finds Hydro-Man, but he instantly gets "splooshed" through the window. He resorts to ask Jonah to print a challenge in his newspaper, to make the duel easier to organize.

They fight, and we get a very nice ending.

In the comments, our dear Bell Lectar says she sees Peter as this leech that will dry up every resource the ladies in his life have and leave them to die (or miraculously escape unscathed), which is definitely an interesting reading I don't completely disagree with. That's thanks to how the magazine was created, misogyny, and probably some other stuff.

I quickly checked the next issue and there's... assuredly... good food in there.

By the time I make the next post though, and I will, because otherwise I'd hit the pictures limit in this post, and also it's almost 4am and I should definitely go to sleep sometime soon, I'll have forgotten about that, so to Future!Bliss: I love you, I cherish you and I wish you a happy rediscovery.

this is prolly gonna be incoherent but I love how similar yet different Shijima / no.4 and Mitsuba / no.3′s positions and stories are

so shijima's boundary, her rules are in play; to escape, you have to kill the protagonist of the story (in this case, mitsuba and hanako). Simple enough, but as sakura mentioned, the people with good hearts will struggle the most with this. it won't be easy to get out. It's meant to keep the good people trapped. It shows you what you want most. The hell of mirrors is the opposite. It shows you your worst fears and regrets. If you have a lot, it will become a living hell. if you're pure at heart, you'll pass through fairly safely. The bad people struggle the most. It shows you what you fear.

Mitsuba and Shijima are both not the real themselves. The real mitsuba vanished, and Tsukasa took his soul and put it in a new body, creating this mitsuba, who was never human, and has no memories, though he was able to view the other's memories through the reflections. Shijima was a persona created by the real Mei Shijima when she was in the hospital, showing her ideal self. Healthy, and artistic and happy, plus some design choices ofc. Shijima cares a great deal for her real self, and is still distraught over what people think of her, and how she died. She wants to protect her real self, almost like a sister, I'd say. Mitsuba dislikes his real self. He's jealous how come he acts like his life is so bad, when he gets to be human? He gets to reach out to people, and he could make friends if he actually tried. He can live his life! That's all Mitsuba wants. He wants to live a normal life. And he wants to do that. They're so similar yet their thoughts on their real selves are so different, and their goals are different too i just. AAA /pos

and she ends up learning a horrible truth. she's like, "i feel like we should do something now, with this thing i aquired maybe i can do something." n ppl keep telling her ta, "leave it ta the adults" "what are you even going ta do?", "everything is already in motion you just hafta wait till it all falls inta place" but-

so she goes n does something STUPID. she directly puts herself in harms way, she puts herself in the forefront of the action b/c she thinks she can do somthing and the adults are forced ta acknowledge her b/c of this. they're forced ta include her even though they dont want to. again another child has decided that they want ta b involved in an ADULT MATTER and the only way they can make sure she n the other dumb kids stay alive is ta involve them so that they can watch over them.

time passes, a new character joins the fray. a deranged lunatic who will stop at nothing ta get what they want. they fucking flip the WHOLE WELL PLANNED OUT OPERATION THAT HAS BEEN IN THE WORKS FOR 20+ YEARS ON ITS HEAD AND KAT TURNS INTA A DIRECT TARGET.

people are hunting her. they want her dead. the police are aligned w/a new corrupt government that are after the thing she has designated herself ta protect (notice how i said, "herself" THE ADULTS DO NOT WANT HER TA PROTECT THIS THING) she's a fugative. she's an outlaw. she's protecting something the public percieves as dangerous, but she knows its not. her parents cant help her, n while she does have adults there ta aid her its obvi not the same. she misses her parents so much, she's stressed trying not ta get caught n die, having ta move from place ta place b/c of the threat of being recognized n the constant raids on the places she's at. i think that her birthday falls w/in this timeframe so like,,,,imagine trying ta celebrate your sweet 16 when your government is actively out hunting you.

I HAVE HAD THIS WHOLE STORY PLANNED OUT SINCE I WAS 14 OH MY GOD I FUCKING LOVE THIS ARC!! ITS THE ANGSTIEST ARC OF THEM ALL AND AFTERWARDS THE CHARACTERS HAFTA SPEND THE NEXT ARC HEALING FROM THIS HORRIBLE THING WHILE DANGER STILL LOOMS IN THE DISTANCE.

THEY'RE IRREPERABLY SCARRED. PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, KAT IS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SUFFERS FROM THIS!

But I was really hoping that you could do headcanons for Arthur (vamp), Masamune (Sen), and Mitsuhide (Sen) with a s/o who is an author? Like Tolkien almost, she writes high fantasy and is super well known? (bonus points if she goes back in time with one of her novels on her to show them exactly).

Author!MC who writes high fantasy novels - (Arthur, Masamune & Mitsuhide)

Arthur

Arthur is extremely amused and intrigued when he hears about your occupation, and even more so when he discovers that you’re a pretty big shot, too. For once, he completely discards appearances (although he still thinks you’re very pretty) and is genuinely interested in your job, frequently asking details about your writing process, your stories and such.

Your books come from two completely different universes, as we have realism and crime against fantasy and supernatural. Yet, when you offer your book for him to read, he falls absolutely in love with it. Although it may not seem like it, Arthur is quite the superstitious man, and has always had a certain interest in the occult and paranormal. Long story short, he becomes your number one fan.

He asks Comte to bring back your books from the future so that he can read them all (if you find out he’ll admit it with a sheepish smile and a blush on his face), and even then he feels like he doesn’t know enough about the different worlds described in your books and about their writer, you. If the topic pops up during conversations he'll take his chance and curiously ask you more and more questions about your job; if not, he'll pick up hints along the way whenever he can.

Your writing schedule will easily adapt to the domesticity of your relationship. You both write together in the same room (sometimes his, sometimes yours, or even in the dining room) as it can be very motivational, and you’re both ready to comfort the other whenever a lack of inspiration puts a stop to your writing. Furthermore, it’s very practical when it comes to taking breaks! He’ll cuddle with you while asking how everything’s coming along and if you need him to help you get some ideas. (this man will def sneak kisses whenever you're absorbed in your own little world because he adores the pout that magically appears on your lips whenever you're concentrated)

Overall, he’s very supportive of what you do. He understands the struggles of being a writer, but he also adores how much of a professional you are. Would probably be a fanboy even if you two didn’t know each other (he’d buy your books in secret so that Theo doesn’t tease him; the great mystery writer who adores realism, falls in love with high fantasy books. The man would never let him see the end of it)

Masamune

Even before knowing that you actually come from the future, Masamune is extremely curious to see some of your works once he hears that you’re a writer. As someone who writes poetry, knowing that you have the same passion makes him like you even more; although your occupations are as different as they can be, he still enjoys finding a common ground with you. Sometime later, after he has already discovered about your particular situation, he’ll also come to learn about the differences between what he thought you did and what your job really is. Fundamentally the job is always the same, but the whole process and the final products are almost completely different than what he had expected.

He doesn’t know what high fantasy is, but when you do tell him about all the various genres and such, he finds himself not too weirded out by the idea; it’s very similar to popular folklore, after all.

When he asks you to tell him one of your stories, you find the perfect situation to show him a physical copy of one of your best-sellers. He’s amazed by the weird-looking book. It’s experiencedly crafted and perfectly written (that’s printing for you<3), and he curiously fidgets with it as he asks endless questions about it. Unfortunately, he can’t read anything (even if it was written in modern Japanese he’d probably be able to grasp 3 words in a whole page or smth, lol), so you find yourself narrating your stories to him. (you receive great in-depth feedback for each chapter in return!! Masamune will be 100% honest with you and takes it v seriously). It becomes a daily occurrence that neither of you wants to miss. Each night, just before bed, you read out loud part of your book as Masamune quietly listens to your every word, wholly enraptured by the story.

He’s the most supportive partner one could wish for, and he’s always ready to show your works off to everyone he knows. He’ll help you get in touch with local printers and see what he can find amongst all the imported goods to make your job easier. If you ever find yourself stuck, he’ll gladly take you on a stroll to help you get your mind off writing for a bit to come back more refreshed and inspired.

Mitsuhide

Mitsuhide is a man who mostly communicates through lies, vague descriptions or distorted realities just to confuse others. As such, he finds your writing skills and wide imagination to be quite useful and admirable. He can be a capable storyteller if needed, so you often wonder why he doesn’t try writing every once in a while.

This said, he never expected for his kitsune story to strike up a chord in you to the point you’d write a story with a character heavily based on him as the protagonist. He’s quite flattered to say the least. When you hand the finished manuscript to him as a gift, he reads it all in one night. (let's pretend he'd be able to understand ahahah...) He’s amazed by your skill and the world you managed to describe through such vivid wording, but you'll have to read between his teasing words to grasp his real feelings about the gift, although he sincerely thanks you profusely.

The novel is the first work of yours he has ever had the chance to read, so he stores it away very carefully in a corner of his room, but curiosity makes him wonder about your previous works though he doesn't directly ask you anything about them. Sure, he'll probably drop some hints here and there concerning this hidden wish of his, but that's totally up to you to understand. Sooner or later he finds two copies of some of your books in the bag in your room (it was totally accidental, he wouldn't just barge in your room and look through your things like that), and he feels like he's fallen in love all over again. There's this particular level of mastery with which you handle your words that leave him spellbound and amazed. Who would have ever thought that his little clumsy mouse was such an expert writer?

In general, Mitsuhide is the closet fanboy. He won't be as open about his love for your stories as Masamune, but he's not afraid to be direct about his feelings every once in a while, especially if you really need to hear supporting words from him. If anyone ever brings up your skills during a conversation, he'll hum in affirmation with a rare, genuine smile gracing his lips.
