Sukuna, dp, pet names, swearing.
Word count. 5.7k
A/N. When you accidentally choose “thought daughter” and half your synopses are questions WHOOPS.

♡ TOJI FUSHIGURO - “That? M’bigger.”
“Yer killin’ me, doll.” Toji huffs out in ragged jealousy at those slow, sultry noises. “Look at you- just look at how she’s just begging f’me.”
Such cute lil’ whines leave your pretty lips as he works your puffy cunt open with that hot pink vibrator of yours. Soaked, thick - customized to the exact measurements of the achingly hard cock sat between his legs right now.
“B-but-” you gasp, eyeing down at the way your puffy folds were bulging around the toy. “S’barely even ngh- all the way in, Toji.”
“So?” he rolls his eyes. And Toji knows he’s being ridiculous, he knows it’s for his own good to stretch out your gummy walls so that you can take his massive size. But all it takes is another hard caress of that buzzing length against your poor g-spot for him to snap.
Eyes becoming crazed when your jaw falls slack, back arching up like such a slut up against his hard abs as you squeal, “Toji! Oh my god m’close—”
Close?
Suddenly, Toji can’t take it anymore - he needs to feel you wrapped around himself.
Now.
“M’gonna- wait what- ngh!” You’re batting your dewy eyes up at him when he drags the vibrator out with a loud squelch! All at once. Still reeling from disappointment, “Baby, why’d you-”
“Because.” he interrupts, and you keen when you feel the urgent throb! of Toji’s fat tip kissing at your swollen folds. Red and angry, leaking thick precum over your pussy lips in a pretty gloss. So mesmerizing that you almost miss the familiar flex of his thighs, the way his dark brows furrow in concentration. “-this pussy of yours says s’time for the real deal.”
It’s all that’s said before he’s suddenly dipping his girthy head just barely past your first ring of resistance. Difficult.
“Relax.” he hisses. Pushing in lingering, determined little grinds past each clench, still easy - still patient. For now. “Breathe f’me. Breathe f’me come on, She can do hah- do it, right, my girl?”
Shit, a part of him thinks he should’ve almost waited longer with the vibrator. Because Toji knows he’s big. He knows your cunt is so tight so heavenly he might just pass out right now. Until-
“Hngh! Toji!” you scramble onto your elbows when you feel his fat head finally bullies past to brush up against your hidden sweet spots. That little divot squeezing past to mark your walls inside. “You promised you’d hah- last longer with the oh vibrator tonight.”
Honestly, a part of Toji was impressed you were still able to form coherent sentences with the way you were being split apart on his monster cock.
He leans down to nuzzle your neck, “Awww, did I?” Hiking your limp legs further and further up his broad shoulders where he had you folded in half. “I don’t remember, maybe your pussy was jus’ c-calling t’me.”
“You- you liar!” you cry out, and he can’t help but grow impossibly harder. Fighting off that dangerous, feral part of himself that just wants to ram into you like some animal already. Because oh how he loved when you act like you weren’t bucking up mindlessly into the smooth staccato of his hips as he eases his way in. “Hngh- fuck you jus’ got- oh!”
The stretch - fuck the stretch. You never got used to it, no matter how many times he used that damn vibrator on you. Pushing you to your limits. It’s like he was nudging at your lungs already.
“F-fuuuck-” you can’t hold back your desperate moans, nails dragging reg marks down his biceps almost the size of your head. “Are you- ngh are you at least halfway in, Toji?”
“Nope.” he hums smugly, popping the p. “Though…”
And in a split second, he’s sitting up, with you splayed out so prettily on his fat length. Lips quirking into a mean little grin when two big arms of his help gravity pull you down, down, down onto his thick cock. Inch by fucking inch.
Turning his head to lick a long, languid stripe up his wrist. Groaning at the sweet sweet taste of your juices forming a sheen on his skin from the little “preparation” before. And fuck you think you feel him grow thicker - angry veins pulsing against every nook and cranny of your cunt.
Full. So full - and he wasn’t even all the way in yet.
“Oh- oh my god- fuck you’re so deep.” you mewl, body jolting with the inability to decide between wanting to run away or slam your hips down for more.
Toji notices - of course, he does - it was always like this, a few tears, a few whines, a few strokes with that pathetic “replica” of his swollen cock to stretch you out. He splays a hand out over your lower stomach, pressing down. Hard. Twitching wildly at that familiar bulge inside you, “M’so much deeper than that stupid toy.”
It’s all you can do to whimper, strained and utterly fucked out already. “Wh-what?”
“Heh, ya wanna know a secret, doll?” He’s leaning down to chuckle darkly in your ear - sending shivers down your neck, your arched spine, all the way to where he gives harsh thrust. Calculated. Once. Twice.
This time, not stopping until he was bottoming out.
Your puffy folds meeting his pelvis in a lewd kiss, his heavy balls smacking against your ass, thick cock settled deep - right where Toji’s been dying to be all night. Toji coos at the way your poor cunt was stuttering and bulging with the greedy effort to take him.
He plants a sloppy kiss right on your lips, “That vibrator’s made smaller than me.”
♡ NANAMI KENTO - Gentleman.
Now, Nanami Kento has always been told he looked like a gentleman - everything from his neatly styled hair, to his perfect suits, to the stern reading glasses always at his nose. Nanami Kento was a gentleman - both inside and out.
Well, except for that massive cock he hid away behind dapper dress pants, of course.
The one that always got so girthy and angry at the mere thought of not being stuffed inside your pretty pussy. The one that was currently beading hot precum at your pussy lips, forming a lewd little pool from where he was spooning you from behind.
The perfect remedy after a long, hard day at work - you, his cute lil’ wife.
“Bad day?” you whisper over your shoulder, Nanami’s nods coming out in feverish little puffs against your heated skin. “Then, I want you to put it in, Ken. All of it, don’ wanna waste time on preparation.”
And Nanami was never one to deny his wife - never one to doubt anything you wanted. But at this very moment, he’s loosening that speckled yellow tie he didn’t have the patience - nor the sanity to remove. Sliding the divot on his fat tip across your clit with a hushed, “Can’t, my love. I promised to not overwork you.”
You huff, “S’not overworking- just ngh- Ken-”
“Don’t.” he warns, hips rutting up lewdly at the mere sound of your voice. Sliding the mess of his glisteningly swollen cock right between your puffy folds. “Fuck- don’t. Jus’ had a bad day n’ this naughty pussy’s gonna make me lose control, darling. Have you calling out of work tomorrow.” He kisses down your neck left hand snaking down to give your cunt a gentle smack! The cool band of his wedding ring burning against your clit, “S’that really what you want?”
And it was meant to be a question to himself more than anything, really. A reminder that you weren’t even prepared yet - not stretched and teased to his heart’s content like usual. A reminder to fucking reel his sanity back before he breaks you.
But, alas, maybe you’re a genius - maybe you’re just stupid. Because you whine stubbornly, “Well, I hear it’s the best solution for a bad day, so why don’t you?”
In an instant, that’s all it takes for your leg to be stretched up in the air. The cozy bedroom chill hitting your bare cunt - only for a split-second, before Nanami’s achy tip is filling you up. Everywhere. Anywhere.
“Hold onto this.” his free hand presses his tie onto your shaky one, hip still pushing. Still rutting up in a steady pressure on your snug cunt. “Pull on it if m’going too rough- fuck- fuckin’ choke me I don’t care. Jus’ let me know because from now on…” he trails off dangerously.
But you’re not left to wonder what the end of his sentence will gift you. No, because you feel it.
He’s pushing in - nothing like the slow, languid strokes you were used to. No, barely even giving you the time to adjust while your husband just keeps pressing and pressing and-
“Ah! Ken!” you involuntarily tug on his tie when his sensitive slit massages at those syrupy sweet spots insides. “You’re so deep- fuck just fuck me how you want to.”
Nanami’s head feels light, vision getting spottier with each heaving breath he’s taking - maybe from your tightening grip around his tie, maybe from the way you’re squeezing him so fucking tight. But it takes him a few seconds to pull himself together enough to grit out, “Fuck- I want to. Oh, how I want to.” As if to confirm his statement, he’s thumbing apart your sopping slit, groaning at the sight of you drooling eagerly down his cock. “But you’re so fuckin’ tight I can’t ngh- s’this how you feel- fuck! I think m’gonna hafta take y’like this all the time, my love.”
Each word has him speeding up in jagged little pistons. Feeling so mean with the way he was bullying those cute moans out of you.
“I don’t care- ngh-” you babble, when his fingers roll over your clit. Squirming your hips down to meet his, trying to press up against those neat tufts of blond at his hilt. “-just want you all inside me.”
Shaping your cunt to this shape of him, losing his breath with each and every dense push inside your sloppy entrance. Still stuck not even halfway in yet - but you feel like you’re losing your goddamn mind.
“You’re so fuckin’ hah- hold on.” And then, your beloved Nanami pushes your leg up even further, craning his neck over to spit. A steady, sinful stream of saliva right onto the bulging mound of where he was sheeting himself in your pussy. Circling your clit, he hums in satisfaction at the mess he’s made, “Now I can ruin you exactly how I want.”
You open up so pliant for him, massaging every bump and ridge along his long, long length while you let him skim past. Being split open so well. So maddeningly.
Like you wanted to be ruined.
And just the thought of it is enough to push Nanami over the edge of his sanity - and to push the entirety of his raw, needy cock inside your tight pussy. Finally. Finally bottoming out.
“Ngh- shit-” he lets out a long breath, sharp canines puncturing at the sensitive skin on your neck. Hips stuttering and getting sloppy with each jittery push deeper inside. Even when Nanami feels your hips fucking back into his to meet the brick wall of his toned abs. His twitching balls sensitive against your ass. “Now, lemme tell ya how how it’s been a-” Just slamming his hips into yours, a ruthless depraved cadence. Fingers ruthless on your clit. “-long fuckin’ day without you.”
♡ GETO SUGURU - Till m’stupid!
“P-please!” you try - and fail - to pull off his need mouth from your poor, overstimulated cunt. Fingers clasping desperately onto his long, inky hair. “I jus’ wan’ you in me- hah-”
It’s around your fourth orgasm that night when you’re finally crying out in surrender, big fat tears rolling down your cheeks with each high, legs spasming and trying to run away from Geto Suguru’s mean mouth. Your breath catching in your chest when he only hums around your ravaged clit in answer.
“I dunno, gorgeous.” Geto teases, sloppy tongue darting around your pulsing hole. Stretching. Lapping up each and every drop of your syrupy cunt. “Don’ think she’s ready to take me, yet.”
Fuck, you knew what that meant.
You knew that meant another few sweet rolls of Geto’s tongue against your clit, another few bullying praises spat into your sensitive cunt while he dragged you through another high - another orgasm that wasn’t on his swollen cock.
And despite how much you loved the way your boyfriend teased and toyed your needy cunt with his mouth - you needed more.
So you tug once again on his dark locks, tongue getting loose with delirium, “You’re so mean, Sugu. So what if I j-jus’ wan’ your cock.”
Oh how he loved to have you begging.
At this, his glassy eyes meet yours right from where Geto was still making out with your pretty pussy in a slow, languid kiss. The squelches and suckles ringing in your ears over your own words. His brow quirks, already with the nickname, huh? Interesting.
“Can’t cum a-as good if it’s not on your cock.” you plow on. Oh, now it’s flattery? How cute. You manage to sputter out while your words don’t even slow him down, “And! And if you don’t-” Ah, Geto muses, this one’s probably the threat. What will it be? Last time it was making him do all the dishes. The time before that it was buying you that handbag you really loved- “-m’gonna go on a sex ban!”
Oh.
Oh fuck.
Now, if there’s one thing you know to never threaten Geto Suguru with, it’s a sex ban. But, alas, desperate times call for desperate measures.
So here he was - face wrenching away from the honeypot of your sweet cunt like it hurt to leave. Eyes wide as he scrambles to meet you, your slick glistening down his gaping lips, his burning cheeks - fuck, he’s never looked prettier.
“My baby…” Geto purrs into your ear, coming up to graze his lips against your in a messy crash of teeth and tongue. “Gorgeous, you never thought I’d be serious- right? Hah- sex ban my ass. You’re funny, real fucking funny.” But for all how confident he was, Geto was soothing out his words with the slightest tremor. Hastily sliding his furiously leaking tip between your sopping slit. Up and down up and down up and- “-cuz who said I could live another second without being in this cute pussy?”
As if to prove his point, Geto’s sliding his fat head past your puffy folds, stretching out your entrance so taut around his thick cock.
A big hand of his finds its way onto the small of your waist, and in a split-second Geto has your position flipped so that he’s splayed out on the mattress instead. Your limp body now toppling precariously where you were sat on his swollen cock.
“Oh.” his pretty mouth falls slack when his hazy eyes lock down at where the two of you were connected. Your pussy lips spread and sucking him up so well. He marvels, “Oh shit look at you. You always take it so well when you’re cockdrunk like this.”
And it’s true - Geto could barely feel that familiar little resistance of muscle. Instead, you’re letting his vein poke at your cunt welcomingly. Bullying himself inside.
You’re keening when an experimental thrust has Geto plunging in even deeper, throbbing veins massaging every nook and cranny of your gummy walls. You could feel him everywhere. And it’s like he could see the strain to take him. To milk him even greedier.
“S-Sugu-”
“Shhh, this is what y’wanted, right?” he’s breathing, strained - like he’s at the end of his sanity with each inch you’re bouncing down his length. “To be fucked on my cock? No matter how big?”
You don’t even have the ability to respond at this point - just the way he liked it. That smart mouth of yours too drunk to think of anything other than him. To only whine when he pools your salty tears on his tongue, murmuring into your skin, “Now now, ‘nough with the cryin’ hah- you wanted to be fucked stupid- n’that’s exactly what m’gonna do.”
Ah, he loved this part.
Loved how all those previous orgasms were crashing together to render you barely lucid when he’s shoving his entire cock up into your slutty hole. Glossy lips trembling when he hits the back of your cunt- already? Shit, that last orgasm must’ve hit you harder than he thought.
That slightly upwards curve of his dick was driving you wild now buried to his hilt. And only shoving himself deeper with each grind that Geto was bucking up to. Until his heavy balls rested behind your ass, neat black happy trail rubbing up against your skin. Until it was impossible to go any deeper.
Your drunken eyes are snapping up in surprise when feeling him grow even thicker inside you, the rough girth shaping out your sloppy hole. He rasps out a chuckle, “Wonder how loose you’ll be after a fifth one, hm?”
♡ CHOSO KAMO - Make him break!
Now, Choso knew your dirty lil’ tricks, he knew not to trust that sultry curl of your lips when you called out to him. That dangerous little glint in your eyes when you begged him to go deeper, one he almost misses with the way your heavenly cunt was trying to suck him up greedily. Almost.
Always playing with his sanity.
Always asking for more.
“But, baby.” he whines, pressing a concerned little peck to that adorable pout on your lips. Breath catching in his chest when you tug stubbornly on his bottom lip. “I don’t wanna- hah- don’ wanna hurt you, y’know?”
In response, you’re only wrapping your legs around his toned waist tighter, sure to leave sinful little marks at those dimples at the bottom of his spine. “I know what I want- n’ what I want is-” your elastic walls squeeze around his girth. Hard. “-more.”
Choso can’t help but let out a slow, hoarse drag of your name. Dark strands of his hair sticking to his forehead when he throws his head back, hips grinding down, down, down-
“Hah! You- oh-” his hazy eyes are flying open when he realizes he’s playing right into your evil hands. Biting his sharp canines down on your pulse - a little warning. “You know what happens when I go all the way, baby. M’not gonna fit- m’gonna lose control. M’gonna-”
“Please?” you hum sweetly.
He was about halfway in now - mouth watering at the way your pussy was spread open so shamefully for him. Already bulging and leaking onto the drenched silky sheets below with the struggle to take him - and you wanted more?
“Tha’s right.” you hum, and it takes his saturated mind a second to realize he said that out loud. And even longer to blink up and meet your hungry gaze, “I want more, Cho.”
Fuck, and it was so unfair. Maybe it’s the nickname, maybe it’s the way you buck your hips up sloppily, lewd squelches ringing in his ear when you bully his swollen cock just an inch more.
Maybe it’s just you. .
But that’s all it takes for him to gasp, eyes snapping wider - crazed even - hips stuttering so messily forwards before-
“Fuck, you’re such a little slut, baby.” And before you know it, Choso’s ramming his hips forwards. Letting the loud smack of skin-on-skin sound across the heady air, bruising. Painful, even. “Such a greedy little bitch-” Watching his throbbing length disappear, he’s sure it’ll leave marks - his heavy balls on your ass, toned pelvis against your thighs, fat cockhead hitting at your cervix. “-N’ s’what you’re gonna be treated like.”
It only takes one kiss of Choso’s leaky tip right against the bottom of your snug pussy before he’s cumming and cumming so hard you can almost feel him twitch at your lungs.
Not waiting for you to adjust, not even waiting for his high to bate. no, don’t make him laugh. Just spearing you on his long length, barely even easing your poor, quivering cunt into it before he’s fucking you into the mattress.
Fully bottomed out now - exactly as you knew would happen.
“No- no no no hold on.” Choso holds both your thrashing legs still with one of his, pushing past that feeble resistance while he finds his rhythm at your gaping hole. “This is- hah-” he groans, voice shot over your wrecked ah! ah! ah! Plunging inside you like he was molding your pliant walls to his shape. “Told you m’gonna break ngh-”
He was massive already - barely even managing to squeeze past and massage your dripping cunt. But oh the sweet overfill of his seed had you keening, scrambling to grab onto the sheets, the headboard, his shoulders to keep even an ounce of your sanity.
“Ngh- fuck!” you whine at the feeling of rope after rope of his thick cum sloshing around inside your plush walls. His veins throb! throb! throbbing! against your sensitive spots to make such a mess of you below. “Fuck- jus’ like that, Cho- keep- hah- keep goin’”
And you didn’t even have to ask. As expected, your boyfriend’s brows after knitting together, pushing your legs so far apart it burned. Abs flexing as his hips moved in jagged, desperate pistons to massage your gummy walls.
This was what you wanted so badly - the way he always breaks like this.
Always.
“Y’asked for more n’ you’re gonna get it.” his voice stutters, cracking ever so slightly with each smash into that spongy bundle of nerves. “More- hah!” Letting out a humorless, almost-shrill laugh, “You knew this would happen, huh?”
You’re just batting your lashes deceivingly innocently, pressing a honeyed peck to Choso’s snarl, “I highly hah- doubt-”
“Look at you.” he spits at your bumbling retort, “Can’t even speak.” Two thick fingers coming up to circle the thick globs of seed pooled at your ravaged clit, purposefully grazing against the sensitive nub. “Fuckin’ wanted more and you’re gonna- get it.”
Slamming into you fast. Out of control.
You open your mouth - no doubt to spit out some other taunt - but before the words leave your lips, he’s shoving his now-sloppy mess of his index and middle finger inside. Forcing the salty taste of his cum spilling out with each thrust, and the cool metal of his thick metal rings. You wanted to break him - and that’s what you’re gonna get.
“So you hah- better shut up that pretty mouth of yours unless I break the bed again and you along with it”
♡ RYOMEN SUKUNA - Twin bitches, twin bitches
“Enough admirin’ me.” Sukuna chuckles darkly from above you, reaching down to cradle your dazed head with a large, clawed hand of his. “The faster ya get back to doing yer lil’ job, the sooner that pretty cunt can take me.”
And it’s all you can do to heave for air, looking up defiantly at the two massive cocks kissing at your mouth. Barely getting a few breaths in before Sukuna’s hips thrust forwards once again to spear your heavenly mouth one of his swollen lengths. Smirking at the way your glossy lips bulge around him, “Yeah yeah, what? Got somethin’ to say, brat?”
You’re squeezing your soft palm up and down the drenched hilt of his other cock. Managing to gasp out, “I- want you-” Before your mouth is being fucked again like some little fucktoy - by both of them. Over and over. Taunting, “I want- you- now.”
“Now?” And Sukuna sounds genuinely surprised, baring his sharp canines in a shocked grin. “Y’think you can hah- already take me now?” Hissing as he drags your sloppy mouth up and off his sensitive lengths, only to question. “You sure about that?”
This angle gives you the perfect view of his intimidating cocks - massive, painfully hard. Fat tips flushed the same shade of pretty pink, angry and weeping all over your swollen lips. Twin veins throbbing urgently at your hot breath, both swollen lengths twitch so animalistically when you spit. Once. Twice.
“Heh- you always do surprise me, lil’ human.”
And shit you were goading him into it - toying with him.
But you didn’t expect that in all of two seconds, Sukuna would be lifting you easily off the ground with two big arms, wrapping your boneless legs around his waist to fit you snugly like a puzzle piece against his muscled body.
“Wh-what-”
“Y’asked, my girl.” he whispers, ragged at what a needy lil’ slut you were being for him right now. His other two free arms aligning both leaky tips at your quivering cunt. “N’ since you’re so fuckin’ spoiled, guess I gotta always hah- give ya what you want, huh?”
“You mean- oh-” It’s right around this time that you can’t think - you can’t even breathe. Can’t do anything but surrender to the two massive lengths bullying past your stretchy ring of muscle. Molding the entrance of your cunt to the shape of his cocks.
“Mmm fuck m’never gonna get tired of this stretch.” he’s groaning throatily, humming with each little half-thrust inside you. Just barely a push and pull. “So wet n- how the fuck hah- are you this tight?”
You scoff, mouth sharp even when it feels like he’s splitting you in half, “I can think of ngh- t-two reasons.”
And then Sukuna has the audacity to throw his head back and laugh - laugh - loud and baritone, the force of his chest rumbling having you slipping deeper and deeper down his massive cock. Losing your barely-there footing with each inch he’s feeding into your needy cunt.
You sputter, “Ngh- f-fuck you’re in so deep.”
“F-f-fuck you’re in so deep.” Sukuna mimics your moans in a pitch much higher than his own. Giving the fat of your ass a sharp smack! as he massages your way down. “M’not even hah- halfway in yet so ya better buckle up, brat.”
And it was true - he was still pushing in desperate, purposeful ruts upwards of his hips. Short strokes that you’d never have the king of curses do - unless he was feeling particularly nice.
Your legs dangle in midair, nails digging into his tan skin with each smack of his heavy set balls with each movement, leaving a smear of precum and spit. Sliding you down so much easier than he thought it would. Down, down, down…
“Ya feel me in here?” you’re gasping at the pressure of one of his sharp nails. Dangerous. Trailing down, down, down to draw an imaginary line on your stomach. One. And another one not too long aways, “And here?” At your cockdrunk little nod, he smiles - dark and wild. “Use your words if you ah- want what’s comin’.”
He feels you milk his cocks even harder at that, like you’re trying to drag out something delicious when you squeal, “Can feel you- can’t feel anything but you-”
The tip of his thick finger dances higher and higher. And he gruffs out, “Well, soon enough m’gonna be- hah here!”
That deep promise is all that runs through your oversaturated mind before Sukuna’s ramming into you - no mercy. Just shoving you down his throbbing cock until he could see them bulge outwards from your supple skin, leaving a lewd little mark right where he predicted it would be.
Bullseye.
“Oh fuuuuck, so nice n’ tight f’me.” Sukuna whimpers - he whimpers. Fuck, the feeling of your walls trying desperately to take shape to his cocks so addictive. So dizzying the way he can feel himself rubbing against one another, bulbous veins throbbing in time to an erratic staccato. “So nice and- and-” he’s losing his words now, slurring with each languid half-thrust up into your cervix. “-mine.”
The word seemed to have made something so feral and dark poke its head out of Sukuna’s exterior. Because then he’s dragging you sloppy cunt like he owned her, all the way from his weeping tips down until your clit was scratching against those tufts of pink at his hilt.
Slamming into you promisingly until you see stars, until you’re cumming. Electricity running through your veins just at the feeling of being so full.
Fucking you through your high, Sukuna only taunts, “Now this is where the real fun starts.”
♡ GOJO SATORU - NO CONTROL
“Why the- why the fuck-” your gasp is drowned out by the sharp rip! of fabric echoing across your boyfriend’s luxurious childhood bedroom. Pieces of your poor panties currently laying in tatters on its hardwood floor, “-do they make these things so easy access?”
As if they could be anything but easy access.
Not with the way Gojo had you bent over the nearest desk he could find, your wrists pinned, skirt bunched up, cunt slobbering and already struggling around where he was just dipping his fat head inside.
Yet, you still manage to hiss over your shoulder, “If- if it’s so ‘easy access’ then why the fuck did you hah- rip it, you fool?”
But ah you should’ve known better than to give Gojo Satoru one of your glares. Because that along with your honeyed insults have him twitching ferally inside you, the curve of his cock jolting perfectly against your hidden sweet spot. Of course.
“Because.” he gives you a sly chuckle, the very tip of his aching cock dragging along your gummy walls. “You should know this by now.” Nipping at the shell of your ear, “M’so big that even those panties are a problem, sweetheart.”
And oh the smug bastard, he’s pushing into your heavenly cunt in languid grinds. Savoring. Hypnotic.
You’re gasping when one of his calculated thrusts mashes against your sensitive areas, the slow push and pull having your nails almost digging into the wooden desk. Scrambling onto your very tip-toes to glide your gummy walls against his thick length.
“Toru…” you moan, hissing in warning. “Y-you better be quiet or else your hah- your parents are gonna hear us.”
“Hah! Me? Me?” he cackles, drinking in your bleary gaze, the way your mouth was falling slack with each tempo of his hips. “Think you should be more ngh- worried about yourself, sweetheart.” He’s pressing a hot mess of a kiss one your swollen lips, your shoulders. Down, down, down wherever he could reach down your arched spine, “Besides. We’ll be s-sneaky, m’jus’ puttin’ in the-”
And perhaps for the first time in his life, the great Gojo Satoru is utterly speechless. Words catching in his chest at the sinful sight right below him.
Your legs spread, shaking. Inner thighs smeared with the glossy sheen of the mess he’s making of your poor cunt. And you pussy- oh fuck, your pussy. With your puffy folds spread, bulging even with the effort to take it just past his fat head. Quivering and struggling with each experimental grind.
Fuck, it was hard to look at it, too. It made him throb so painfully - it made him grow bigger.
“Ngh! What the fuck-” you spit at the feeling of that familiar burn, your syrupy walls being stretched to their absolute limits.
“Shhh shhh- change of plans, sweetheart.” Is all Gojo grunts in response, bending his long, long legs at the knees to bully himself inside easier. Two big arms wrapping around your middle, reaching over to give your clit a determined swivel of his fingers. “M’gonna go about- halfway? Yeah, halfway.”
And yet, he sounds unsure himself. Voice just a pitch higher, breathy, like he was losing more and more of his sanity with each little half-thrust he’s gifting your poor cunt with.
Just quick, methodical little kisses of his hips to yours, heavy balls smacking against your thighs with each inch your greedy cunt is swallowing up. Milking the absolute fucking soul out of him.
“F-fuck!” you keen when that thick vein of his down the middle massages your good spot. The adorable sound making Gojo’s eyes light up, smirking as he hikes his knee up higher to piston deep into your dripping pussy. Heady with the squelches from below. “Th-this is hah more than- half Toru-”
Fuck, was it?
Gojo hadn’t even noticed - too drunk on the way you were squeezing his poor, overworked cock so tight. Until it was almost difficult to plunge into your dripping cunt - to split you apart on it exactly the way he wanted.
But, well, now that he was taking a long, hard look - he was just a bit more than halfway through. Brows raising in delight at the way your hips are pushing back in mindless little swivels for more.
“Then, I guess-” he trails off, two large hands of his coming to rest at your waist. A disappointed whine rips from the back of your throat when his ruthless hips slow down to a still, pulsing with anticipation. “-might as well finish the job.”
“Oh- what- you fuckin’-” The rest of your sentence is swallowed up in the way he rolls his hips forwards - fully. Inch by fucking inch. Catching in your ring of resistance less than all the way through, but still pushing. Still rutting forwards so animalistically. “Toru—” You whine at the stretch, the pure dizzying feeling of him shaping your cunt to the thick girth of his swollen cock. “S’too big- I can’t ngh-”
Pretty pink lips shut up your babbling mouth, murmuring deeply, “No no no no- no you can take it- you can oh.” Long, slender fingers coming up to roll against your poor clit, loosening your feeble reisstance, “Look at the- fuck jus’ look at the way you want me.” And you’re barely registering the hand smushing your cheeks together in an embarrassing pout, forcing you to look down at the steady, lazy torture of him splitting you apart on his massive cock. “This isn’t even fuck- me. Look at how you’re fucking back. How you want me so badly.”
And, usually, you’d snap at Gojo - tell him he’s too cocky for his own good.
But it was true.
You were meeting his sloppy, untimed bounced halfway through. Helping yourself be fucked into that expensive desk. And he’s pushing - so persistent.
So utterly wrecked when his leaky tip nudges against your spongy cervix, stars behind his eyes when his heavy balls smack your thighs. Unstopping - not until your ass was settled snugly against those tufts of white at his base. Finally, all the way in.
Through it all, he manages to rasp out, “Hey, did ya know the walls in his house are soundproofed?”
“...”
“So why don’t we go a proper round, sweetheart? Or five?”
A/N. I did NOT expect these to get so long but yk what I’m not upset.

Sweet Like Honey; Karma is a Cat
What a conundrum.
Remus should take this as an opportunity to be a good friend. You have spent almost two decades showing him exactly how to do that, playing the perfect part of the sister-he-never-had, loving and supporting him through life. For never turning your back on him, Remus is sure he owes you far more than what he can ever repay you, so he should try every single day. He should be a good friend.
But it was just too funny not to.
"At what point is it our duty to wake them up?" Sirius' voice whispered in his ear, shaking with mirth.
"I'm wondering the exact same thing." Remus dragged his words out to avoid making a decision. "How long do you think we can get away with?"
"I mean, they are already 15 minutes late to their Charms lesson, so we're dead men walking for not having said anything so far."
Remus is just able to tear his eyes away from you to glance sideways at Sirius, a too-fond smile already playing over his lips as he sees the exact mischievous look on his boyfriend's face that he expected. The look he fell in love with, not that Remus would be sappy enough to think about that right now. "So what you're saying is..."
"Leave it for a while longer?" Sirius grinned.
"Leave it for a while longer." Remus confirmed, whispering through a laugh, shifting his body further into Sirius' side as he lets his eyes fall back on you.
Well. On what he and Sirius knew to be you and Regulus, but what all other students in the library thought was just two cats sleeping in an armchair.
There was an elongated square of sunlight cast onto the middle of the seat by one of the beautifully decorated windows of the ancient castle, every cat's dream spot. The green velvet covering the seat of the mahogany chair was already riddled with fur from how long the two of you had been curled up around each other in it, white, grey and black hairs mixing together. Your forms might as well be mixing together too, fluid in a way that defied physics yet looked impossibly comfortable. Remus supposed you had to milk as much pleasure out of being an animagus as possible to make that whole mandrake leaf ordeal worth it. Though you could not answer even if he asked you right now, he was sure you at this very moment thought it was.
Remus' smile widened as he saw your chest rise dramatically as you breathed a sleepy huff, turning your head over slightly and burrowing it further into Regulus' plush neck. Your little cat bodies laid facing each other, arms around each other in a way he thought looked a little too much like a human hug.
It would be the absolute picture of serenity, two young things with no care in the world but each other – had it not been for the large clock ironically hanging right behind you, reminding you that you were not supposed to be here right now.
The four of you – five before James ran off the second he spotted red hair a few shelves back – had spent your two hours of shared free periods to read up together, for once actually doing a considerable amount of studying during it. Sirius was rubbing it in your faces, yours by consequence and Regulus' by design, that you still had one lesson left for the day when you abruptly stood up and demanded that you need a study break. When you then promptly dragged Regulus off into a corner, Sirius got the karma of a lifetime as he grew very concerned about what kind of break you would be engaging in. That was until the two cats lazily strolled back in and made themselves comfortable in the chair they now claimed as theirs.
Knowing you, Remus knew you hadn't intended on falling asleep, but maybe the fact that you did meant you really needed it. Yes, surely, you must have been exhausted and your body demanded a rest, so frankly he is quite an amazing friend for ensuring you listen to your health and your needs.
"Cats shouldn't be allowed to be that cute," Sirius all but grumbled as he looked at the two of them. "I should hate them on principle, but look at them Moony!"
"Quite literally no one is demanding that you hate cats on behalf of Padfoot, Siri."
"Padfoot is!" Sirius gave him a you can't argue with that logic look, but Remus knew he could.
"Ah, yes, my boyfriend the dog," he mused, cocking an eyebrow at Sirius who promptly reached out with his finger and pulled it back down.
"I could so give you a comeback to that, but I respect you too much not to say it in public," Sirius muttered and Remus couldn't fight his laughter.
Something moving in his periphery brought his attention back on you, seeing you shift even more into Regulus which caused him to begin stirring as well. Go back to sleep, go back to sleep, Remus whispered to you in his mind.
As always, you didn't listen to him, and ever so slowly Remus saw you peel one yellow eye open, blinking blearily at the room before turning your head back towards Regulus. The greyest of your four paws came up to gently pet at the black cat's neck, almost as if you were smoothing over the fur you had ruffled in your sleep. It made Remus' heart ache with love for you both, even as his stomach was slowly dropping.
A soft prrt! escaped Regulus before he instantly began purring and tightening his hold on you with his little cat paws, nosing his head against yours. A kind of softness Regulus rarely let himself fall into in public, though this was arguably a grey area.
It almost looked like you were about to be driven back into sleep by the vibrations moving through you from Regulus' chest. Remus noticed Sirius paying attention raptly as well, which was unfortunate.
Because when you shot up out of your seat with a small squeak, jumping as if startled as you looked towards the clock – now a good 30 minutes into your 45 minutes lesson – Sirius let out a loud bark of laughter. It earned him more than a few hushes from those around, but most importantly, it earned him your head snapping around to look at him with eyes that could rival a basilisk’s.
Considering Remus was already on a streak of making disloyal choices towards his loved ones, he didn't fight his instinct to stand up from his seat and back up when you ran and jumped onto the table right in front of Sirius' face with a hiss. You slapped at him with a clawless paw to which Sirius whispered something along the lines of "hey, knock it off, be cool" while trying to hold you at arm's length. You scowled at him as aggressively as any cat could, raising your back slightly before you arguably tut-ed at him and jumped back down.
Remus fought for his life to not laugh.
You turned around and ran over to Regulus who was still lazily stretching and gaining his bearings, not an ounce of care shown towards the near-assault of his brother. Nudging him with your head towards the end of the chair, he got the point and jumped down, already falling into his usual graceful mannerisms.
Together you scurried off back into your corner.
When you came back a mere minute later Remus swore there was no difference in your facial expression. Remus carefully walked around the table – where Sirius was still sitting with a petulant pout – hands up in surrender.
You crossed your arms, leaning your weight onto your right hip as you glared at your oldest friend, clearly expecting him to speak first. Behind you Regulus was strolling over, looking like he was trying really hard to be miffed but falling just short.
“How dare you,” you said – and it was a statement, not a question.
“In my defence,” Remus started, hands still up but so were the corners of his lips. “You two looked adorable.”
“That will surely hold up real well with the professor,” you scoffed.
“We didn’t make you fall asleep, princess,” Sirius grumbled to which you turned to him with a bitch please look Remus is fairly certain you picked up from Sirius.
“Apologies for expecting my friends to have my back. How stupid of me.”
“Very stupid indeed,” Sirius murmured as he took a sip of his coffee, grimacing when he found it to be cold. He nearly spilled some when Regulus gave him a light slap up the back of the head.
Remus figured it was time to pull out the big guns.
He manoeuvred his held up hands to be stretched out towards you instead with a rueful smile as he inched closer and closer. You had a moody expression still, eyeing him with suspicion, but you didn’t move out of the way. He dared make a small cooing sound as he brought you into a hug, coddling you like one would a child after they hurt themselves to keep them from crying.
“‘M super super sorry, lovie,” Remus half-muttered half-laughed into your hair as he rocked you a little bit. Your arms were still crossed against his chest, but you were leaning into him.
“Don’t believe you, Loopy.”
Regulus snorted at that and Remus looked up at him over his shoulder and the boys shared a look of humour and shared love for you that warmed his stomach. Though when Sirius nipped at Regulus’ sleeve to get his attention, the faux-miffed expression was plastered right back on the younger boy’s face.
Siblings, Remus thought and chuckled a bit into your hair.
“You laughing at me?” you questioned incredulously.
“No, I’m laughing at our boys.” His response was quick to rid himself of any further accusations.
You instantly nodded against his shoulder. “Understandable.”
“Hey! Don’t bring me into this, amour.” Regulus' chiding tone was met with you uncrossing your arms at last, reaching a hand out behind you blindly, which he immediately took and squeezed with his own.
You let your other arm curl around Remus’ back. Forgiveness at last.
He pulled back to look down at you with a goofy grin, and was pleased to see you could no longer contain yours either. “You were really cute. Didn’t want to disturb you.”
You gave him a look. “Right, no laughing at our expense whatsoever.”
“Never.”
You gave him a light shove while you snorted, pushing him away from you. “This is what I get for my sacrifice for you?” you said as you shook your head at him not much unlike McGonagall would during detention.
“I would argue you got a pretty sweet deal with that sacrifice, doll, seeing as you can curl up with your equally sacrificial boyfriend and sleep in the library whenever.” Sirius nodded solemnly, while jutting his chin towards Regulus. “This one would never let that happen in any other form.”
“Oh, I’m sure I could’ve convinced him,” you replied, looking at Regulus with an almost salacious smile. As if to prove your point – or just to prove Sirius wrong – he came up to stand closer behind you, arms going around your waist. You leaned your weight back against him with a happy sigh.
“Disgusting,” was all Sirius offered.
You raised an eyebrow at him before turning your head sideways to give Regulus a short, sweet kiss.
“Disgusting,” he groaned once more, pressing the backs of his palms into his eyes.
“Karma,” you and Remus sing-songed at him at the exact same time in the exact same tone.
Your eyes met in surprise before you both burst out laughing, any pretend fight seeping out of you as you both beamed at each other.
Siblings, Remus found himself thinking once more.
“Well, now that we don’t have a lesson to get to anymore, I suggest we get out of here,” Regulus sighed, squeezing your hips as if to underline his point.
“Where we heading?” Sirius asked as he swung his legs out to get up.
“I don’t know where you’re going,” you started. “But Remus will go hunt down a certain Head Boy and get him to make up some excuse to Professor Flitwick for why Regulus and I did not attend class so that our absence is removed from the records.” You put on your sweetest smile as you turned towards Remus at the last part.
“Regulus, what have you done with her?!” Sirius stage-whispered his accusation at Regulus who only responded with a certain impolite gesture.
“And why would James do that?” Remus drawls, certain that his entertainment was written all over his face.
“Oh, I’m sure he owes you for something, you figure it out.” You spoke as you tried to put your bag over your shoulder to leave, but Remus and Regulus both reached for it at the same time. They gave each other a look, trying to decide who will take the literal burden, before they both turned to Sirius and dropped the bag in his lap. He rolled his eyes at the both of them, but pulled the strap over his free shoulder nonetheless.
“You are quite the minx, aren’t you?” Remus asked, going for chiding and landing somewhere along the lines of compliance.
“Learned from the best, Rem!” you cheered brightly, pressing quick smacking kisses on both his and Sirius’ cheek.
Before they could muster up a response or a reaction, you had already hauled Regulus down the halls of the library towards the exit with half-heartedly hushed giggles. The raven-haired boy looked over his shoulder right before you turned the corner with a barely-contained smile, inhibitions straw thin in your presence.
Remus understood him well.
He turned to Sirius with a pleased smile to find him already admiring his reactions from where he stood beside him.
“I get why they’re cats,” Remus mused as he interlaced their fingers, following the general direction you ran off to, ready to hunt down James and possibly claw up some furniture.
“Because they’re adorable but also massive menaces?”
Remus breathed out contently. “Yeah.”

winter wonderland ❀ s. reid x reader

in which it snows, you have a vision for a snowman, and spencer reid is all too easy to convince.
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader genre: fluff tags: established relationship. brat enabler!spencer reid!!! pathetic corny potentially tooth rotting fluff. they kiss a lot. word count: 1k a/n: wrote this for margot because i mean she did request it… lol… brat enabler spencer reid is prevalent but i mean that's just the parfaitblogs' spencer reid on the reg…
❄︎ advent calendar masterlist
If Spencer Reid were ever to pursue a prosecuting career, he'd hope to God you are never his opposition.
Too many of his firm personal rules held no weight when they challenged your own, and his ground almost always dissolves under his feet the second you disagree.
Like going out in the snow.
One minute he was appreciating the grey skies and white sheet covering the ground, and the next, he was pulling boots and winter clothes onto his body to cover up.
An argument that he so sorely lost, that began with you asking him to go out into the snow with him.
His response had been, "No, there's still snow falling—" not really "—and it'll be freezing."
"That's what warm clothes are for!"
And even if he wanted to back himself up and not give in, you were handing him a scarf and a sweater, regardless. Never mind the fact that you had already dressed up ready for the snow, looking warm and so pretty, and Spencer was but a man ridiculously in love with you.
So, he let you drag him out to the snow without any more complaints.
And you had agreed on a snowman. A simple, normal snowman with a carrot nose and pebbles for his buttons. The only compromise made was Spencer agreeing to you using his purple scarf to wrap around the snowman's neck, instead of a typical red one like he was imagining.
Truth be told, making a snowman with you was proving to be very difficult.
His first battle began with you refusing to wear mittens out of the house, claiming you needed the extra grip for the snow to make the perfect shapes. A fifteen minute dispute was what it took for you to reluctantly cover the skin of your hands. Even then, he caught you trying to remove the fabric from your fingers time and time again.
The second battle lay within the design of the snowman. You begging to make something fun, and Spencer reminding you of the agreement to make a normal snowman until you gave up.
And yet, somewhere between the collection of the snow, rolling it into balls, and putting the snowman together, it developed from a regular shaped snowman, to one with ears strangely resembling a bunny.
You had conned Spencer Reid, and made a bunny snowman.
"How did this happen?" he mumbles, almost exasperated, as you grin proudly at the snow creation presented before him.
Mind you, he knew exactly how this happened.
Your lips had found his in the short period of time between picking up the carrot and carrying it to put into the snowball head, and truly, he is unable to focus when you are that close to him. Which should not be held against him.
A gentle kiss that parted with the fog cloud of your two breaths mingling, the cold nipping at your lips, rendering him thoughtless and confused for half a second too long. That was when the carrot had disappeared.
Then, as he was placing the pebbles over the lower half of the face for the snowman's smile, you had turned him around to face you, coaxing him in for another kiss that he — this time — had enough willpower to say no to.
Your response was to shove a fistful of snow into the crook of his neck, encouraging a snow fight he had been trying to avoid this entire time.
"You do know that smothering my neck and face in snow can cause frostbite. Or hypothermia. The cold can encourage heart attacks and—" You threw another snowball at him.
"It's a snowball. It wont kill you."
Really, he should've picked up on your distraction techniques sooner. Usually, he did. You were easy enough to read once he had gotten to know you, and your antics were a regular enough occurrence that he could tell when you were in a specific mood.
But still, you had deceived him, and he hadn't suspected a thing.
"Do you like her?" you chirp from beside him, a large grin on your lips.
"A snowman. We agreed on a regular snowman."
"It is a snowman," you protested, albeit weakly, staring at the crooked, bunny resembling pile of snow. "She's... unconventional."
"It's a bunny."
"But isn't she cute?" you press, staring up at him with widened eyes. "Say yes. Please say yes."
He huffs, his breath painting the cold air just past his lips. His resolve is seemingly incredibly easy to dissipate when you stare at him like that. "Yes. She's cute."
You grin at his agreement, standing on your toes to peck his cheek.
Though, he's quick to catch your waist and tug you closer, melting cold lips against your own. Out of shock and maybe too much glee, you laugh, and you feel him smile against your mouth.
Fingers lift to your hair and thread through it, and you're grateful the two of you had decided to play with the snow in your backyard. You aren't sure if he'd kiss you like this out the front of your home.
"Can we compromise and make another regular snowman?" you ask him, the second his lips part only a fraction from yours.
He pauses, his eyes searching your face, inevitably for a hint of you trying to deceive him once more. Certain he finds none, he nods his head. "Yes. We can."
You happily smile back at him, your head turning to the side so you can look at your bunny snowman once again. "She's growing on you, though, right?"
"I guess," he turns his own head. "She kind of looks like you."
Your eyebrows furrow. "Oddly shaped and on a lean?"
"Cute," he clarifies with a laugh, locking eyes with you once more. "Be kinder to yourself."
"I am."
You're met with a pointed look, but he's an expert at picking his battles with you, for he sighs, then simply says, "Just start rolling more snow."
your reblogs and replies are always appreciated ♡

dressing up
When you're unsure how you feel in the dress the boys bought you, they make sure to re-inspire some confidence. (reupload from previous blog, see navigation for more info!)
poly!jegulus x fem! reader
warnings: mostly fluff, sexual references and implied smut at the end, reader has hair and is able-bodied.
You rub the liquid-soft silk of your dress absent-mindedly between two fingers, eyes locked on your reflection in the bathroom mirror. When you'd tried it on just a few days ago, the shop lady had told you you were a vision; now you're sure she was just trying to sell her product.
You want to blame the sizing- maybe it's too small, the wrong shape, impossible to look good in even if you had the body of a mannequin. But even that doesn't seem plausible. It's a beautiful dress, high-quality with a price to match. There's no alternative: you must be the problem, straining fabric with the parts of you that you wish you could just forget about.
You breathe out as much as you can, trying not to flush with the embarrassment you feel at the thought of having to show your boyfriends just what a mistake it was, encouraging you to spend their money on a pretty dress you can't possibly wear. It was wrong of you to accept the gift. Guilt boils hot and hurting in your stomach as you imagine your lovely boyfriends, so pleased to finally have convinced you to let them sponsor such a luxury. How awful to repay them by looking dowdy and silly and not at all right for something so beautiful.
You think quickly, aware of the expectant pair sitting just seconds away in the living room. You can't pass them without revealing yourself, but the prospect is unimaginable. What a waste of money.
“Baby?” James’ voice, soft and cheerful, sounds from just past the door. Your throat tightens. “Not that we’re too miffed, but we would like to see you at some point. You’ve been in there since we got back from the shops twenty minutes ago.”
Shit. You curse yourself for deciding to come in here for a full-body view of the dress, leaving all your other clothing in the bedroom. Exiting naked would usually warrant rather a happy reaction from the boys, but after looking a few moments more at the outline of your body in the mirror, that doesn't seem like a good option either. “Sorry!”
"Not to worry, sweetheart."
James’ white bathrobe is the only reasonable alternative. You grab it off the hook by the towels and wrap it around yourself, nodding contentedly as it reveals only a sliver of fabric at your chest and nothing more. You might as well be wearing a nightie, for all they know. The dress will just have to be returned, and you'll tell them you couldn't find one that fit- technically correct.
You aim to leave the bathroom casually, but that becomes almost impossible when you open the door and find yourself face-to-face with Regulus, his fist raised as if to knock.
“Hi, Reg!” Too cheery. You tamper down your smile and stand on your tip-toes to kiss him, holding the robe tightly around yourself.
“Hello. I was just going to ask what you wanted for dinner. Are you alright, darling?" He wonders, watching you with storm-grey eyes that always seem to see just a little more than you're expecting them to.
"Of course! Dandy." You supply.
He cocks his head, unmoving. "You’re in an odd mood.”
“What? No. This is my usual mood,” You insist.
“M-hm.” His eyes drop momentarily down to the robe, narrowing. “Any particular reason you're wearing James' robe?”
“Am I?”
The aforementioned individual appeared, suddenly, grinning. “I don’t mind. Looks great, very sexy!”
You wonder if it's possible for your face to heat so much that it melts.
“Incorrigible, James.” Regulus says softly.
You give him a weak smile, squirming away from the impossible weight of their combined gazes and heading for the bedroom. Regrettably, they follow you.
“Why are you wearing it, angel?” James asks, flopping onto the bed.
You shrug, searching for an opportunity to get them both to leave you alone to change. The truth is that your own robe would've been much too short, and if they see the bottom of the dress they'll probably ask for the whole thing, and that's just not going to happen. You press your fingers into the soft curve of your lower stomach nervously, taking a few steps backwards until your back hits the wall. James' brows pull together.
“Um. I don't know.”
The two of them exchange a glance. You understand; you're not exactly behaving in a normal manner.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Regulus asks. You like to think you're better at reading his expressions than most- the slight slant of his dark brows tells you he's concerned, but you can't get a good read on the rest of it.
"Yes, I'm fine! Why are you- I- I'm just a little warm."
"Call me crazy, angel," James says, amused, "But taking off the robe might help with that."
Your reply comes too quickly, to your immediate regret. "No!"
There's a brief silence. You feel like a total idiot, but you're sure it beats the feeling you'd get seeing them pretend to like the way you look right now. You squeeze your eyes shut for second, swallowing hard.
"I'm sorry," You sound mortifyingly close to tears. "Sorry. I just- sorry."
At a total loss, James stares at you from the bed. Regulus touches your upper arm gently.
"There's no need to apologise, darling, just tell us what's happened. What's made you so upset?"
You force yourself to make eye contact. "Please can you both just go while I get changed?"
Their expressions are awful; knowing you're causing such a fuss over something so trivial, so stupid, you feel like just about the worst girlfriend in the world.
“Is there something you're worried we'll see? Bruises, or something?” James asks. "We can go, baby, but if there's something going on it might be better for Reg or me to take a look. You know I was joking when I said I'd break up with you if you got that tattoo of Margaret Thatcher's face."
You deflate, softened by his attempt to break the tension. Regulus rolls his eyes, but you see the corner of his mouth twitch. "What's going on, hm?" He asks quietly.
With a sigh, you stare at the ground, giving up. They're too lovely to stick to your original plan- you'll just have to let it happen, and hope to make up for it another time by looking better.
"...I'm not sure you'll love what you see."
“Of course we’ll love it. We love you.” Regulus says firmly, like it's obvious.
“That doesn’t mean-”
“Angel. Take the robe off, yeah? We’ll prove it to you.”
At James' insistence, you take a deep breath and stare at the ground as you shrug off the robe, wrapping your arms around your middle. You're keenly aware of the places where your skin presses against fabric, the way it falls, and the heat rushing to your cheeks. Oh, god.
"Fuck." Regulus says, uncharacteristically crude. You curl in on yourself a little further.
“I’m sorry, I know it’s not how it looked on the-”
James interrupts you. “Baby? I’m gonna be honest, because I love you, okay?”
“Okay.” You say meekly, eyes stinging. Maybe it's even worse than you’d thought.
“I cannot hear a single word you are saying when you look that good. Like, a single word. It’s all lost on me. I’m going to need a minute.”
Regulus’ hands are on you before you could properly react to James’ words, drawing your arms away from your body and taking in the dress with hungry eyes.
“Exquisite, sweetheart," He exclaims, hands on yours. "I would say you’re never taking this off, but that’s actually all I want to do.”
"What?" You manage, smiling despite yourself. You pull your hands away and press them to your face. "Reg, you don't have to-"
“You thought we wouldn’t want to see this?” Hands on your shoulders, Regulus spins you once, before pulling your back against his chest and planting a heated kiss to the side of your neck. “And you called me crazy?”
“You’re- I’m- what?” You stammer. James makes an unintelligible sound from the bed, pressing a dramatic hand to his heart. "Thank you."
"Don't thank us, angel. Holy shit. I'm thanking you. I'm thanking the gods. I'm thanking-"
"James is very thankful." Regulus whispers into your hair. You laugh out loud, a little giddy at all their praise. "D'you know what I'd be thankful for right now?"
"What?"
"You on that bed, darling," He says. You lean into his touch as his hand slides down your side, squeezing a part of your waist you'd prodded critically in the mirror not ten minutes ago. Now you enjoy the feeling of his warm hands through the thin fabric, enjoy having a shape his hands both appreciate so well. "Off you go."
It's an instruction, now, and you shiver at the authority in his tone as you obey. James is on you before the duvet has even settled, making you gasp as he presses kisses all over your face.
“I’m going to destroy this dress. I’m sorry.” He says earnestly. You giggle happily, insecurities not quite gone but coated in a honey-sweet joy that softens their presence.
“I thought you liked it.”
“M-hm. It’s okay,” His hand finds your thigh and grips it firmly, fingers pressing into soft skin. “We’ll buy you a million more.”
You let yourself enjoy it all for a moment more before giving any space to the snarky voice at the back of your mind, more out of a desire for reassurance than genuine belief that the two boys on top of you would genuinely do such a thing. "You're not- not just saying all this to make me feel better?"
“Why would we ‘just say’ this?” Regulus murmurs against your right shoulder, forearm across your stomach as he does wicked things to your skin that you'll have to cover in concealer if you want to wear anything sleeveless for a few days.
“...I don't know. Make me feel better?”
“You’re stunning. Literally- how often is James speechless, hm?”
You laughed. “Hardly ever.”
“Exactly. You're quite regularly the most beautiful girl either of us have ever seen, darling, whether you're feeling the same way or not,” Regulus leans on his elbow to look at you sternly. "We don't appreciate you this way because you look like somebody else, we adore you because you're yourself, and completely radiant."
“I don’t think you don't like me, I promise. It’s just something that’s in my brain- that I’m ugly, or something. It's silly."”
"It is," James agrees, allowing Regulus to return to whatever he's doing to your collarbone. "But it's not your fault. Your only job is to listen to what we're telling you, instead of your insecurity. Yeah?"
"Yeah," You nod, a little breathless. It's very easy to be agreeable when they're doing all these things to you. James kisses a line down your throat, to your chest, to your arm, slipping the strap of the dress down to follow. “I love you both," You manage.
They answer in their own, doubly enjoyable, ways.

loves kissing you but only in a more private setting because he gets super shy/flustered when you’re in public and want to kiss him
sleeps in just his boxers
i think he also loves to cuddle
especially with you laying in his arms, head on his chest, his fingers moving gently across your back as he hums some old tune

his fav position is def cowgirl(reg and reverse) but he also really enjoys the mating press
starts off a little shy when things first get started but it never fails to turn into him taking control
depending on his mood after a mission is how making love is going to go
if it’s a really good mission where nothing went wrong, he’s a little more rough. pulls your hair, fucks you a little harder, wraps his hands around your throat for a little light choking and some dirty talk is whispered in your ear
“you’ve been waitin’ here all day for me haven’t ya? been waitin’ for me to fuck you. such a good girl.”
if he comes back from a mission shook up, where things could’ve ended horribly, he’s far more gentle. kisses you longer, holds you closer, takes him awhile to ever get ready to make love to you because he’s struggling with the thought of losing you. if he doesn’t cherish you right then and there, he might not get the chance to next time.
“you’re beautiful. i love you. can’t ever lose ya or i’ll go mad.”
rough joel finger fucks you while you suck him off
uses your hair to pull you fully down onto his cock, forcing you to deep throat him
but when he makes love to you it’s all passion and soft words
touches you everywhere with gentle yet sure hands
slow, deep thrusts and always missionary or a position where he can see your face clearly in

I LOVED the ”You were important” fic that you wrote and I know that that it was only published a couple hours ago but I NEED to know if there is going to be a part 2
And if there isn’t then I’m begging you for one were reader maybe goes out with Sirius and his friends for the first time or something. Please I’m desperate 😭😩❤️
I can practically guarantee you this isn't as good as 'You Were Important' but it is what it is! and honestly, I think everyone but Sirius is nervous/unsure about the Hogsmeade visit.
Also, receiving this request literally a few hours after posting made my day ♥︎
Hogsmeade

cw: one use of y/n, fluff, swearing
To say that Sirius’ friends were hesitant about you was the understatement of the century. They knew you had a big part in helping Sirius slowly reconnect with Regulus and they knew you were childhood friends. But to be dating? That was a step beyond their comprehension.
“So she yells at you, you have some miraculous conversation and now you’re dating?” Peter asked incredulously. “I’m sorry, mate. I don’t see it.”
“You went from not speaking for years to dating pretty quickly,” James added.
“There’s a lot about her that you don’t know,” Sirius said.
“When you apologized to her last term, did you actually beg?” Remus mused, already knowing the answer but trying to help Peter and James along.
“Yes.”
James choked on his pumpkin juice. “You begged? Like on your knees, begging?”
“In the library. You can ask Reg if you don’t believe me. He walked in on it.”
“How come none of us got to witness that?” James asked with a pout. “I would’ve paid to see that.”
“I’ve been asking myself the same thing,” Remus said.
“Because you didn’t need to be there. It’s hard enough putting my dignity on the line, I didn’t need you lot witnessing it.”
“Okay so if you were on your knees for her,” Peter paused to give the group a suggestive look, “then maybe it’s more believable that she likes your sorry arse.”
“I don’t know why I need to convince you that we’re actually dating… But I did write to her all of break.”
“I thought you were writing Regulus?” James asked.
“Is there a limit on how many people I can write? I wrote to them both.”
“What’s so special about her anyways?” Peter asks, stabbing his fork into the fruit on his plate. “Besides the insane ability of forgiveness.”
Sirius rolled his eyes. “At the risk of being called a sap, I’ll keep it brief. She’s perfect. Perfectly flawed. Knows how to handle the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black. What else do I need?”
“Handling you and your brother is certainly a special quality,” Remus snorted.
“So was there like something hot about her when she exploded last term?” James asked. “Because I think we were all a little scared of a random ass Slytherin being furious at you.”
“Oh shut it.”
“And we are taking that as a yes,” Peter confirmed with a nod.
“I’ll give you something you can take, Wormtail,” Sirius warned.
“Calm down, Pads,” Remus said. “Let us get used to Y/N and the effects she has on you. It’s new to us. Since you kept us in the dark ‘bout her for six years.”
“That number is going to be the death of me…”
Your friends, minus Regulus, were just as confused.
“You know, when we asked if there was something going on between you and Black, we meant Regulus,” Dorcas said.
“And the only thing going on between me and Reg is friendship.”
“But you and Sirius? You’re serious?” Pandora asked.
“Yes, Dory, I’m dating Sirius.”
“But why?”
“What do you mean why?”
“You’ve never once mentioned liking him. Before last term, you never mentioned him as anything other than Reg’s brother.”
“Because he said we weren’t friends. Keep up. Pretty sure I told you this.”
“You did. Six years radio silence to dating is a jump, sweetheart.”
“He’s taken big steps since we reconnected.”
“Maybe so. I’m just saying, you are the queen of forgiveness.”
“He knows he’s walking a thin line,” Regulus said, deciding to join the conversation.
“You! You’re okay with this?”
“I encouraged they get close again,” he said. “Did they get closer than I intended? Maybe. But once you get over the initial shock, it makes sense.”
“How so?”
He looked from Dorcas to you and back again. “They practically grew up together. And then when he fucked up, she went and befriended me. There’s something about being a Black that attracts her.”
“It’s the trauma,” you said with a teasing lilt in your voice.
“If that was the case, you’d be dating me.”
“I’m afraid you’ve solidified your place as absolute bestie for the restie a while ago.”
Regulus stared at you for what felt like an entire minute.
“Whatever the fuck that means…”
---
Sirius approaches you after class, as he usually did. You took your time putting your things into your bag while he would shove everything into his own as fast as he could.
“You doing anything Saturday?” he asks, resting his hip against your desk.
“Sleep in? Maybe Hogsmeade with the girls if they wait up for me.”
“What if you ditch the girls and come with us?”
“Us? As in the Marauders?”
He nods.
“Am I ready for a proper introduction to them?”
After you throw your bag over your shoulder, Sirius places his arm around your waist and guides you to the door.
“I think so. It’s about time, don’t you think?”
“I guess… Do they know you’re inviting me?”
“No.”
“What will they think? I haven’t talked to any of them since I yelled at you.”
“Don’t worry ‘bout that, love. I’ve talked to them about you. Plus, once they get to know you, they’ll love you. I know I do.”
You snort. “Yeah? You love me?”
He looks down at you with a crooked smile. Neither of you had the exact words “I love you” but you hadn’t been dating all that long. It still hung in the air between you though. If you had to talk about it with anyone, you would say when you know, you know. Having Sirius back in your life was like being able to breathe again after having your head held underwater.
Instead of responding verbally, Sirius places a kiss on your cheek. It makes you giggle. He knew it would. He knows he loves you. It hit him as hard as it had hit him that he missed you during those six years. You had a way of making him feel seen that even having the eyes of the entire Hogwarts castle couldn’t raise a candle to. You saw him and he loved you for it.
“So, Hogsmeade? Yes, no, you’d rather snog me in the Gryffindor Common Room…” His voice trails off as he looks down at you with a smirk on his face.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time,” you tease.
“You’ll come to Hogsmeade, then? Yeah?”
You sigh. You know it’s inevitable. You have to meet and hang out with his friends at some point. You couldn’t avoid them forever, as appealing as that sounds, if you want this to work with Sirius.
“Yes, I’ll do Hogsmeade. But you’re paying for my butterbeers.”
He laughs. “As if I wouldn’t do that anyways.”
---
You get up far too early for your liking on Saturday. Sirius insists that you will be spending all day with the boys in Hogsmeade and he’s fairly certain that by the end of the night, you will be telling him you wished the day had lasted longer. You’re not as sure of that as he is, but you’re willing to humor him. It would be good to get to know his friends, at least a little bit.
You feel awkward as you head to the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall rather than Slytherin. At least you didn’t have to deal with teasing from Pandora and Dorcas this morning; they were still tucked into bed, where you’d much rather be. Still, you feel eyes on you.
“Good morning, lovely!” Sirius chirps as soon as he spots you within earshot.
You give him a nervous smile. The full of Marauder nonsense was weighing on any optimism you might’ve had. You take the spot next to Sirius, obviously saved for you. The other boys are quiet, although you don’t blame them.
“Morning everyone,” you say.
They mumble responses. Remus looks half asleep as he sips his morning tea, Peter is zoned out as he stares at his plate, and James is shoveling eggs into his mouth. You assume he would’ve given you a better response if his mouth hadn’t been full.
“Whose idea was it to go so early?” Remus mumbles, putting his cup down and giving you a polite smile.
You look from boy to boy before laying eyes on Sirius.
“You. You did this,” you say accusingly, pointing your finger at him.
“Maybe.”
You forcefully rest your forehead on his shoulder with a groan.
“I thought you weren’t a morning person.”
“He’s not,” Remus answers for him with a knowing look in his eyes that you don’t see.
“Sorry that I’m excited,” Sirius says. “Just the first time all my favorite people are going to be together.”
“Second,” Peter says, barely loud enough to be heard.
“Second?” Sirius repeats.
“He’s, uh, counting the yelling, I think,” James says after swallowing. “You know, last term.”
You lift your head from Sirius’ shoulder and you know your face is red. The yelling.
“I promise I don’t yell all the time,” you say softly.
They all laugh in one way or another. Sirius has his full body laugh while Remus has more of a chuckle. You swear you see Peter clench his jaw as James barks out a short laugh. You’re certain this is going to be a long, painfully awkward and embarrassing day. Sirius starts putting food on the plate in front of you and nudges the cup closer to you.
“Eat up.”
“I can make my own plate,” you tell him firmly.
“But you weren’t.”
You roll your eyes but start to eat the food he’s grabbed for you. The boys are mostly quiet while you eat. Sirius forces some conversation. He’s adamant that something will spark. He just needs someone to bite, someone to start talking besides him, and then conversation will flow more easily. It had to.
It does, finally, as you leave the Great Hall and begin the short trek to Hogsmeade. The boys discuss everywhere they need to go today.
“You’re not going to make us get lunch at Puddifoot’s or anything, right?” Peter asks tentatively, as if already hating your answer.
You laugh loudly, making the boys in front of you look over their shoulders.
“Godric, no!” Their faces relax. “Not every girl loves lace and all that frill.”
“Oh, I had just assumed…” Peter’s voice trails off.
“Doesn’t everyone know the saying?” you ask.
“What saying?” James asks.
“When you assume, you make ass of you and me.”
You walk up and throw an arm around Peter.
You hiss in his ear, “Don’t go making an ass of me. I don’t care what you make of yourself.”
Peter blushes furiously as you remove your arm and laugh.
“I fully assumed we be spending time in Honeydukes and Zonko’s and maybe Pippin’s or something before finishing the day at the Broomsticks. Is that not normal?” you ask, walking backwards at the front of the group.
Sirius was beaming at you, clearly enjoying how suddenly comfortable you became. Apparently you just needed someone to get the wrong read on you. Then you point at James.
“Spintwitches? Regulus was talking about this new broom-”
“Polish? They got in the new broom polish?”
You nod and James picks up his pace, easily passing you so you turn around to walk normally.
“Well, come on, you lot!” he calls. “I need some before they run out!”
“I highly doubt that they are going to run out, Prongs!” Sirius yells at him as he resumes his spot at your side. “Now is this so bad,” he whispers to you.
You roll your eyes but give him a wide smile. Maybe his friends weren’t so bad. They just had to see you as something other than a pathetic girl or the angry girl who nearly screamed at Sirius about his brother.
You were right about their plans for the day, though. After Spintwitches, the group heads to Honeydukes to restock on sweets that you would have to carry around all day. Next was Zonko’s. The boys flitted around the shot like hummingbirds, never looking at a stand for too long but practically guaranteed to return. When the shopkeeper told them their total, you choked on the licorice wand you were snacking on. The boys give you a strange look while Sirius hits your back and makes sure you’re okay.
“Dear Merlin, do you always spend that much in there?” you ask as you exit the store and head to the main square.
“Yes?” James answers. “Is it a lot?”
You snort a laugh.
“Prongs, you know it is. There’s a reason you and Padfoot pick up the bill every time,” Remus says with his own laugh.
“Oh! If you boys don’t mind, can we stop at the quill shop?” you ask.
“Quill shop and then Three Broomsticks? Sounds good to me,” Sirius says, answering for the whole group.
The rest of the boys wait outside while Sirius follows you into the shop. He doesn’t say anything as you browse. He follows you like a lovesick puppy, which is what the boys are calling him in their conversation outside the shop. Not that he would’ve minded it anyways. Sirius was happy. He had it all in that moment: a girl who loved him, friends who would die for him, and a family in the Potters. He couldn’t think of anything else he needed in this moment.
After you made your purchase of a new quill and inkwell, you and the boys made your way to the Three Broomsticks. As expected, it’s packed, but that doesn’t stop you from being able to find a table big enough to fit all of you. You feel at ease as you drink butterbeers with the boys and snack on the crisps James ordered for the table. There are jokes you don’t quite understand and snide comments you don’t quite agree with, but overall, it’s good. You know you’re new to the group and it will be easier the longer you’re around. It helps that Sirius is next to you, giving you the occasional touch and kiss. And the occasional knowing look when the boys say something that would elicit a remark from you but you’re not in the place to say anything yet.
You wave to your friends when they make their way into the pub. They gather at a table at the other end of the room.
“You can go say hi, you know,” Remus says, noticing who you’re waving to. “We’re not holding you hostage.”
“You’re not, but they might,” you say as you make eye contact with Barty and he makes kissy faces at you. “They can get my recap of my day later.”
“Oooh, what are you going to tell them about us?” Peter asks, tossing a crisp at James who catches it in his mouth.
“You spend way too much at Zonko’s, but you weren’t as bad as I was expected.”
“Wait! Wait, wait,” James says, holding up his hands to pause the conversation. “What do you mean too much at Zonko’s?”
“How bad were you expecting?” Remus asks before you can answer.
“Potter, you know damn well what I mean. I can excuse the Honeydukes spending because, well, I’m just as bad. But Salazar, so many galleons wasted! And for what? A prank?”
“A prank that will bring joy for weeks,” Sirius says, giving you a playful nudge.
You roll your eyes.
“How bad were you expecting today to go?” Remus asks again.
“Horrendously.”
Sirius gasps and leans away from you.
“Wait, really?”
You nod.
“We’re not… that bad, are we?” James asks.
“Spending a full day with people I’ve barely interacted with in the six years we’ve been classmates? With our main interaction being… the yelling?” you ask incredulously.
Your point is made.
“To be honest, we… I was nervous ‘bout this too,” Peter says. “You’re scary when you’re pissed.”
“Good.”
“Good?” Remus asks with a smirk; he knows why it’s good.
“Means you are less likely to cross me.”
“And there’s the Slytherin,” James laughs before throwing back his butterbeer.
“What, being my girlfriend doesn’t make them less likely to cross you?” Sirius asks.
“While I’m sure that is reason,” you start, “I’d rather be scary. There’s more people to keep in line than your boys.”
“Like your boys,” Remus says. He’s looking at Evan and Barty.
“Oh, they are easy to keep in line,” you muse. “They are more reward-based. Threats don’t work on them.”
“Oh?”
“Oh,” you say, not elaborating.
“So, another round, yeah?” Sirius asks, waving down Rosmerta.

CELESTIAL BODIES | POLY!JEGULUS X READER
as the title says | three fools in love | 7th year | fem reader |

I. The Moon
"I think I'm in love with two people," Regulus announced to his two best friends as he stared the ceiling of his dorm room, sprawled dramatically on his bed. While Barry was resting his head on Evan's thighs, pretending to read a book.
"Finally admitting it, then?" Evan didn't look up from where he was braiding tiny plaits into Barty’s hair. "Only took you half year."
Regulus shot up, side eyeing Evan. "What do you mean 'finally'?"
Barty snorted, abandoning any pretense of reading. "Reg, darling, you're about as subtle as an elephant. The way you look at Potter and Y/N..."
"I do not look at them in any particular way!"
"No? Shall I refresh your memory? You literally walked into a wall last week when we were our way to class, because Potter flew past the window during Quidditch practice," Evan pointed out.
"And you spent three hours in the library yesterday 'studying' while Y/N read poetry," Barty added, using air quotes.
Regulus buried his face in his hands. "It's impossible anyway. They're... they're together."
"And?" Barty raised an eyebrow, exchanging a look with Evan. "We're together, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't be open to—"
"That's different!" Regulus protested. "You two... it makes sense. But me? With both of them? It's complicated enough being a Black who's in love with a Potter, but adding another person..."
"Love's always complicated, petite étoile," Evan said softly, using the nickname that he gave Regulus as a joke during their first year but it stayed up to now. "But that doesn't mean it's impossible."
Regulus looked between his best friends and felt something in his chest. "I just... I want what you have. But I want it with them. Both of them. Is that selfish?"
"No more selfish than wanting the sun and stars," Barty smiled. "Which, coincidentally..."
"Oh, shut up."
But he was smiling now too, even as his heart raced with a new found possibility.
II. The Sun
James Potter had a problem.
Actually, he had two problems, both currently sitting under a tree by the lake – his girlfriend, you, reading poetry to his Quidditch rival (and frequent source of confusing feelings) Regulus Black.
"Prongs, mate," Sirius said from beside him, "you're staring again."
"Am' not," James muttered, definitely staring, as Regulus laughed at something you said. "Just... making sure they're not plotting anything."
"Right. Because my brother, who blushes every time you say his name and your girlfriend, who writes you love notes in Ancient Runes, are definitely plotting against you."
James turned to his best friend, surprised. "Regulus blushes when..."
Sirius groaned. "Merlin's pants, you're both so oblivious. Just go talk to them!"
"But what if—"
"James Potter," Sirius grabbed his shoulders, "my brother looks at you the same way I look at Remus. Trust me, I would like to say some.. a lot of things about this, but s'not the time. Nor the place. I see it in the way he looks at you, at her. In the way she looks at him the same way she looks at you. And you? You've been pining after both of them for months. So please, for the love of my sanity, go talk to them before I hex you."
James blinked. "Oh."
"Yes, 'oh.' Now get your ass up, you absolute moron."
III. The Stars
You weren't blind.
You saw the way James watched Regulus during Quidditch matches, the way Regulus's grey eyes followed James across the Great Hall. You noticed how they both gravitated toward you, how their touches lingered, how they seemed to orbit around each other, despite claiming they cannot stand each other.
It was rather fitting, really. James with his bright energy, lighting up every room he entered. Regulus with his quiet grace, reflecting that light in his own beautiful way. And you, somewhere between them, trying to bridge the gap.
"Your boyfriend's staring again," Regulus murmured, eyes flicking between your book, the black lake and definetly not James.
"Is he now? Must be staring at you I suppose." you replied without missing a beat.
His head snapped up. "I- what?"
You smiled, closing the book before turning to face him. "Oh, come on, Reg. You can't tell me you haven't noticed."
"Noticed what?"
"The way James looks at you. The way you look at him. The way you both look at me. The way I look at the both of you"
Regulus went very still. "I... that's..."
"Complicated?" you suggested. "Maybe. But the best things usually are."
"But you and James..."
"Are very much in love," you agreed. "Just like we're both very much in love with you."
The confession hung in the air between you, as delicate as starlight.
"Oh," Regulus breathed.
And then James was there, dropping down beside you both with his usual grace (or lack thereof). "So," he said, running a hand through his perpetually messy curly hair, "Sirius threatened to hex me if I didn't come talk to you both."
"About?" Regulus asked, voice slightly higher than usual.
James looked between you both, golden in the afternoon sun. His eyes catched yours and you nod reassurning. You two haved talked about this before, and it seems it was finally time to let the cat out of the bag.
"About how... I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you. Well, the both of you. And how that should probably terrify me, but somehow doesn't."
"And maybe…" James continued while grinning, "we should continue this conversation somewhere more private? Like, say, a certain someone's dorm?" as his eyes flicked back to your figure.
"Subtle, Potter," Regulus rolled his eyes, but he was smiling.
"You love it."
"Merlin help me, I do."
Later, tangled together in your satin bed sheets, you three fit perfectly together. James's warmth, Regulus's cool touch and your steady presence between them. Their kisses tasted different. James like sugar quills, Regulus like mint and the rich English black tea he always has in the afternoons, but they go together so beautifully.
"We should have done this ages ago," James murmured against your neck while Regulus kissed patterns across your collarbone.
"Better late than never," you gasped as Regulus nipped at your skin.
"Much better," Regulus agreed, reaching up to tangle his fingers in James's hair.
And really, what were a few months of pining compared to this? The sun, the moon and the stars, finally aligned just right.

THINGS ARE DIFFERENT.
SUMMARY — this year brought a world of horrors for you. a car accident just weeks before your first day of sophomore year leaves you with no memory of the last year of your life. six months later, things have settled for you; you've got perfect grades, you're a cheerleader and your boyfriend is the quarterback. life is great, perfect even, until a certain raven-haired boy comes crashing into your life, causing chaos and triggering some of your memories to come back.
PAIRING — sweet pea x fem!andrews!reader | reggie mantle x fem!andrews! reader
WORD COUNT — 9.6k
WARNINGS — shitty friends, mentions of a car accident, cheating (caught in the act), lying, angst, fighting, swearing, i think that's it???? (let me know if i missed anything!!!!)
A/N — the plot of riverdale is kind of muddled in this fic; hiram logde's plans are apart of it somewhat, but jason is still alive. no mention of "yn" everyone mostly refers to her as andrews, reg refers to reader as "sunshine" a few times, and fred refers to her as kiddo, also the absolute SHITSHOW i went through to post this, oh my god, tumblr formatting is FUCKED (i usually write everything in my notes app or on wattpad bc i have lost so many partially done fics to shitty service). like i get WHY, but AHHHHHHHH (that's me screaming at the top of my lungs,,, 24 hour loop edition), not proof read
MASTERLIST | RIVERDALE

YOU.
"ronnie needs our support on this," your twin brother archie explains, he's leaning against the door frame of your bedroom.
your back is to him, and you're trying to get ready to head out for school. your homework, laptop and other things sit spewed around your room. utter chaos from your midnight homework session. you straighten yourself, finally meeting his eyes.
"yeah, and? veronica is your girlfriend, not mine archie." you reply, leaning down to shove your laptop into your school bag.
"please?" he pleads, and you roll your eyes.
veronica lodge's dad is no good for riverdale, you can feel it. every move he makes seems to rattle one of archie's friends, or cause a disturbance within the town. since hiram rolled in it seems like one half of riverdale is always up in arms. first jughead when the serpents trashed the drive-in, and the northsiders because of the southsiders joining the now only school in riverdale.
"arch, i don't have the same kind of love from my friends you do. i step on their toes over this, i'm going to be an outcast." you reply, zipping up your bag.
"you can always hang with us," archie sighs, crossing his arms over his chest. "i know that betty misses you a lot, same with jughead."
"then why haven't they reached out?" you snap, sick of the conversation at hand.
archie always gets your hopes up, then plans fall through or they "unintentionally" leave you out. so, you're done. they know that you don't remember anything from the last year; the good, the bad or the petty. you're done trying to change things when with every effort you're shot down. you want normalcy. you want your friends back, but if they're not going to tell you what's going on, or make an effort, then why should you?
"just think about it, okay?" archie says, and you shake my head.
you throw my bag over your shoulder and push past him. you pause in the hallway, guilt creeping up on you, but ultimately decide not to worry about it. archie's been babying you, coddling you even since the accident. which to an extent you can understand it; you could have died. at the same time you feel like you never have a moment to yourself. archie's always lurking. you jog down the stairs, patting vegas as you slip out the front door onto the footpath.
the weather is hazy, it's damp out, fog lining the streets obscuring vision twenty feet head. you thank the powers that be for you remember a jacket. you pull your hood up as you walk towards the sidewalk, but you catch sight of your boyfriend's car parked on the street.
"morning princess," reggie calls through the open passenger window.
"morning reg," you reply pulling the door open and sliding into the passenger seat.
"did you hear about southside high closing?" he prompts after you give him a quick peck on the lips. "means all the trash is going to be clogging the halls of riverdale high,"
"yeah, arch filled me in this morning. you'd think after all the drama surrounding archie and the serpents he'd be less than excited about them transferring in." you sigh, tossing your bag into the backseat.
"he's on their side?" reggie asks, mouth twisting in disgust.
"guess so," you shrug, pulling on your seatbelt as reggie pulls away from the curb.
"but you're not?"
"i'm indifferent," you reply. "i don't care one way or the other,"
"cheryl's going to hate it," he says, and you shrug again.
the drive is relatively short, and silent. when you and reggie aren't making out, it's usually pretty quiet. you're together on the principle of "it makes sense". that's quite literally how he phrased it when he asked you out. and to an extent he's right. it makes sense for a football player to be dating a cheerleader. it makes sense. that being said, your relationship is entirely physical and for show. you're more along the lines of friends with benefits than an actual relationship. he only calls you when there's a party, or he's horny. romantic, you know. reggie grabs your backpack, and you climb out of the car.
"morning!" betty shouts, climbing out of her mom's car.
"hey," you reply, watching as she b-lines towards you.
"you friends with cooper again?" reggie whispers, leaning against the passenger side door.
"no, her friends want my support about the southside," you whisper back, plastering on a fake smile.
"good morning," mrs. cooper says as she drives past.
"good morning mrs. cooper!" you reply cheerily, she smiles and waves before turning out onto the street.
"hey, can we talk for a minute?" betty asks, stopping a few feet away.
she looks like she always does. blonde hair pulled up in a tight ponytail, makeup pretty minimal and natural, and her signature grey crown sweatshirt.
"sure," you say, and reggie leans down to plant a kiss on your lips, as you grab your backpack from him. "see you in homeroom."
he just smirks at you, as you turn away. you feel his eyes on your back until the two of you slip inside of the school. you feel slightly more at ease without reggie by your side. you follow betty to the room dedicated to the blue and gold (your school newspaper). betty drops into her seat at her desk, and you drop your bag on the table and plop down in the chair on the otherside of her desk. you sit, crossing your arms over your chest.
"whats do you want?" you ask, your question coming out ruder than you'd intended.
"i uh, i wanted to touch base." she says, averting eye conact.
"touch base? we haven't spoken since before my accident, betty. what do you really want?" you snap, becoming both annoyed and upset that she didn't actually mean it.
you could have played dumb, you could have gossiped, you could have gave her a life update. but you spend so much time being fake with your 'friends' that you can't handle any more superficial small talk that neither of you will remember. she looks taken a back by your brashness, and you feel a twinge of guilt. just a twinge.
"i—" she starts, but you cut her off as you forcfully shove your chair back, causing an awful screeching sound as it drags across the tile floor.
"look, cooper, if you need something, be straight with me and don't get my hopes up to use me for information." you grab your backpack and trudge into the hallway crashing straight into someone sending you flying back.
you grunt, bracing for the impact but instead you feel two hands on my arms steadying me. you peak your eyes open, and see a tall guy with dark hair and a leather jacket.
"oh shit, i'm sorry," you mutter slipping past him as you rush up the stairs.
you feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up, like someone's watching you. you turn your head as you head up, and see the guy who caught you staring in your direction. he looks pissed, and you wonder for a brief moment if that anger is directed at you. you feel someone poke you in the shoulder and you turn your head to look at them. you jump in shock at how close she is.
"you good?" cheryl asks, the usual distaste in her voice, one eyebrow raised in question.
"yeah, fine," you reply walking in step with her, glancing down the stairs, to see a brown and pink haired girl pulling him away.
"—and i don't know why she wants this so bad—" cheryl's voice drifts off into backgroung noise, something that tends to happen more and more frequently.
that guy looked weirdly familiar. you swear you've seen his face before but you can't seem to place it. which is also happening more, and more frequently to you. you know it's going to bug the hell out of you.
"—and i said—" cheryl continues, as you head towards english.
"andrews!" you feel two arms wrap around your middle, and you're yanked backwards and lifted up.
"ahhhhhh!" you shout, startled by the sudden movement and contact, your kneejerk reaction is to raise your elbow and throw it into the first piece of flesh you connect with.
"andr- shit!" a familiar voice yells, as you free fall to the ground, landing on your ass hard. "what the hell, dude!?"
you lift my head and see cheryl's twin brother jason leaning over, clutching his stomach in pain. you clap your hand over your mouth in a mix of embarrassment. he glances down at you, rubbing the tender area, mouthing 'what the fuck' over and over.
"shit! jason, i'm so sorry—" you say, quickly standing up, he waves you away so he can take a second.
"what has you so jumpy this morning?" cheryl asks, crossing her arms and raising both her eye brows at me.
"no clue," you reply truthfully.
"too much caffeine likely," jason says, standing up right and throwing his arms cross both mine and cheryl's shoulders to guide us to class.
"how many cups a day are you drinking?"
"two," you reply, no hesitation.
you haven't been sleeping much lately, or at all really. you weren't sure what was worse; the lack of sleep, or the fact that when you do manage to fall alseep all you seem to dream of is the four agonizing hours you were trapped in your car after the accident.
"four with extra espresso." jason chirps, and you mock elbow him and he flinches, dropping his arm from your shoulder to shield himself. "not cool dude,"
"aw, prwincess," you mutter tapping his cheek with your hand.
you duck under his arms at a weak attempt to catch you, and slide into class dropping into your usual seat beside ethel muggs. mrs. leroy has all the desks grouped in twos. she likes to assign a lot of partner assignments and classwork, so you ended up with desk pairs.
"good morning," ethel says brightly, and you smile at her.
"good morning ethel, how was your weekend?"
"it was good, how was yours?"
"it was okay," you reply and shrug as mrs. leroy, our english teacher waddles into the room.
she drops her bag beside her desk and takes off her jacket, hanging it on the back of her chair before standing at the front of the room and clearing her throat.
"alright guys, we have a bunch of new students joining us. i'm sure you heard about the students from southside high tranfering in, and we're going to be very welcoming. as such, i've decided to change up your desk partners to kick off our next project." she says, and everyone groans. "hey! who knows, maybe you'll meet your new best friend!"
you drop your head down on the desk as she continues to speak.
"i call your pairs and you'll move to the assigned set of desk pairs, every up."
everyone obeys, clearing to the back, front and sides of the room as she spends the next fifteen minutes reseating you.
"mr. blossom and ms. topaz, these desks please." jason nudges your foot as he passes.
"she's pretty," he mouths and you roll your eyes, a shit eating grin on his face.
"mr. sweet pea, and ms. andrews."
"sweet pea, what kind of name is that?" cheryl snickers, rolling her eyes.
you step forward, dropping into the closest desk to you, ducking your head to look into your backpack for my notebook and pencil. you drop them onto the desk, and look ahead to the board.
"uh, excuse me—?" you turn my head, and see the guy who caught me in the hallway.
"yeah?"
he's cute. messy—but like the intentional kind of messy—dark hair, with curls over his forehead, and dark eyes. there's a hint of ink poking out over the collar of his leather jacket, you catch sight of a snake's head.
"can i— uh— can i borrow a pencil or pen?" he asks, and you nod, turning to dig into you backpack for one.
you feel his eyes on you, watching your every move as you dig. you pull out the first pen you find and hand it over. he reaches out, grabbing hold of it, and your fingers briefly touch. a shiver immediately shoots down my spine, and you drop your hand. you get a flash of a memory, it's difficult to piece together what you're remembering. you see a flash of a half empty vodka bottle, a leather jacket, and a tattoo gun. you gather your things, and jump out of your seat rushing to the bathroom, you hastily shove your notebook away and drop your bag upon entering the bathroom. you drop to your knees in front of the first toilet you find, and empty the contents of your stomach. you wipe your mouth with the back of your hand and lean back against the stall dividers, trying to catch your breath.
it was like for a brief moment you was there. you could hear the tattoo gun buzzing, you could feel the scratch against your skin and you could taste the vodka. you stand up, and walk over to the mirror. maybe you're losing your mind. you would notice a tattoo, wouldn't you? if you didn't know to look for one, maybe you wouldn't... you lift your hoodie a little, and catch sight of one of the snake's heads poking out from under the underwire of your bra.
"holy shit," you breath, pulling your hoodie back down.
you lean down, and turn on the water slashing it onto your face. you stare hard at yourself in the mirror. how could you not see something like that? why didn't anyone tell you? you were told that you grew apart from your friends, but by the looks of things you had a whole other set that no one knew about, or at the very least didn't want you to go back to. the bell rings, signaling the end of first period, and you stand there staring at yourself in the mirror. the door opens slightly, and the brown and pick haired girl sticks her head in and sees you.
"hey, are you okay?" she asks, opening the door fully to come in.
"uh, yeah, i think so." you reply, and she nods, not pushing the topic any further, which you appreciate.
checking in on you is a small act of kindness that not even my so-called 'best friend' cheryl could give. you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket, and pull it out, turning away from the sink to lean on it. think of the devil, a text from cheryl.

you don't reply, you just sigh, and shove your phone back into your pocket. you look up and catch the girl's reflection staring at you.
"uh, sorry." she says and you shake your head, mustering a small smile.
"it's okay, i'm—," you say, sticking out your hand to her.
"actually, we've met bef—" she cuts you off, but is cut off by the bell ringing.
then there's a loud bang on the door, and it opens slightly.
"topaz! we need to talk," it's sweet pea.
she throws you a sympathetic smile and heads out to the hallway. you there for another few minutes, fully aware of the fact that you're missing chemistry before you pull your phone back out, and call your dad. i can't handle this, i'm incredibly overwhelmed. all of this is too much. i know toni? i'm a southside serpent?
"hey kiddo, what's up?" he asks, answering on the first ring, it's his coffee break. "aren't you supposed to be in class?"
"i am," you reply, your voice shaking, immediately giving away how you're feeling. "i just— dad—"
"sweetheart?" he prompts.
fred andrews, a saint walking, ever understanding. you're incredibly blessed to have him for a dad. you force yourself to take a shaky breath, you're on the verge of tears and your eyes burn.
"can i have a day? i just— i'm so overwhelmed. can i go home?" you ask, the dam breaking, tears slipping down your cheeks.
"yeah, kiddo, i'll come get you and sign you out for the day, okay?" he says, and you whisper okay. "hang tight, i'll be there soon."
"thanks dad," you say, and hang up.
you stare at your reflection, your eyes are puffy and you look like hell. your hair is a mess, but you really don't have the energy to fix it. you grab a couple paper towels from the dispenser and wipe your face. you grab your backpack and head down to the office. you drop into one of the chairs across from mrs. bell's desk to wait.
"oh, hi," she says, exiting mr. weatherbee's office holding a folder. "how can i help you dear?"
"i'm not feeling well, my dad's coming to pick me up." you reply, forcing a small smile.
"oh i'm sorry to hear that dear, i hope you feel better," she gives you a sympathetic look as she plops down at her desk.
you're used to the look; the sad eyes with a small forced smile, you'd recived it a lot since the accident. there were no fatalities thankfully, but it drastically changed your life. at least you have to assume it did, you'd lost a year's worth of memories and it only took you a severe concussion and a couple weeks of physical therapy.
"good morning, dorris," comes your dad's voice, he steps into the office and mrs. bell smiles at him.
"well hello, fred." she says, a faint smile on her lips.
everyone on this side of town loves your dad. fred andrews is the kind of guy who will drop everything if you're in a bind, whether you're a friend or not. he signs you out on the sign out clipboard and turns to you.
"ready to go?" he asks, and you nod, standing up.
he slings an arm around your shoulders, and you wrap an arm around his middle as you walk. he doesn't ask you any questions, but you're sure when you get home he's going to have some.
SWEETPEA.
"she acts like she's never met us before," fangs says, sitting down beside sweet pea on the steps leading up to the bleachers.
they need privacy to talk about what's happening, this was the closest thing sweet pea could find. especially with all the gawking, stares and judgemental looks they'd been receiving since showing up to their new school this morning.
"i know, she didn't even say "hi" or anything. it's the least she could have done given everything," sweet pea grumbles, watching as toni walks towards them.
"she doesn't remember us," toni says, coming to a stop in front of them. "she literally doesn't remember us. like at all, she introduced herself to me in the bathroom,"
"what the hell?" fangs mutters, "maybe it's an elaborate plan to keep her summer in the snakes den a secret?"
"that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard," toni says crossing her arms over her chest. "you heard how she was talking before she ghosted us, she was over it all, the cliques, school, all of it."
"she said we were her family," sweet pea mumbles, "and then she disappeared. maybe it was all a lie,"
"jesus christ, or maybe, something bad happened to her, and she actually doesn't remember us." toni replies, the annoyance in her voice prominent. "and if she didn't remember us, then how would she know to contact us?"
"i sent her over a hundred texts since she disappeared, none of them have even been opened."
"case and point," toni says, rolling her eyes. "look, sit and stew in your misery, or confront her. i don't know about you guys, but i plan on getting my friend back."
with that toni turns on her heel, and heads back towards the school. fangs sighs, and stands up, brushing the dust off his ass as he turns to stand where toni had just been.
"maybe she's right," he says, looking down at sweet pea. "we know elly, she wouldn't just up and ghost us like this unless something happened. i want our friend back, and i'm with toni on trying by any means necessary to get her back,"
fangs studies sweet pea's face, looking for any indication that he's heard anything he said. after a moment, fangs sighs again, and turns to follow toni back into the school. sweet pea sits there on the bleachers, he watches as his friends grow smaller and smaller the further they get. he groans, and throws his head back. he's frustrated. he hasn't heard a damn thing from you in months, and then he sees you at his new school and suddenly his whole world collapses. he sighs, and pulls his cellphone out of the pocket of his leather jacket. he opens up his texts, and pulls up your messages.

you never showed up, you never called, you just disappeared. well, apparently you hadn't, but for sweet pea you did. other than toni and fangs he had no other friends in common at the time. no way of getting a hold of you when his calls all suddenly hit you voicemail. now here you are, back in his life, but so far from his reach. he had hoped a million times over the last six months that he'd find out what happened, that he'd get some kind of explanation or closure. something. anything.
but when his eyes landed on you, it was like all the anger towards you, and the situation melted away. for a second, it was like you were never gone. then that daydream snapped, and you were rushing away. not an ounce of recognition in your eyes. it hurt. his phone vibrates in his hand, and it brings him back. back to the bleachers, back to the harsh reality that you might have no clue who he is, back to the anger that swirls in his head, back to how much he loves you, and how much his heart hurts because you might no remember any of it.
he looks down at the screen, leaning forward, his elbows resting on his knees as the bell rings again.

YOU.
"alright, so, what's up?" he asks, as you drop onto the couch.
vegas jumps up beside you, and drops his head into your lap. you run your fingers through his soft fur and try to figure out a way to start this conversation.
"what was i like over the summer?" you ask, looking up at him.
he's standing by the front door, leaning against the archway leading into the living room. he's got his arms crossed and he's watching you silently.
"you were like you are now," he shrugs, "you didn't spend much time home, at first you were busy with cheryl and then you got a job."
"a job?" you ask, that's new information. "where?"
"the twilight drive-in," he replies, "you made some new friends with your co-workers, or so you said. you and archie were barely home over the summer,"
there's a few moments of silence as you digest this new information.
"dad?"
"yeah kiddo?"
"where was i going? why was i in that car?"
"truthfully, i don't know. archie said the two of you had gotten in a pretty heated fight, and you'd stormed out. a few hours later i got a call from sheriff keller,"
you nod, and sigh, leaning forward. you rest your elbows on your knees, and rub your eyes.
"i had a memory come back," you say after a minute, you don't look up at him. "it was weird though, it was really intense. it was like i was inside the memory."
"do you know what triggered it?"
"no," you lie, until you figure out what's going on with you, you plan to keep sweet pea and toni out of things. "it just hit me in the middle of english, and i had to get out of the room. i went to the bathroom and i puked."
"you puked?"
"yeah, nausea hit me seconds after the memory."
"well, at least you're making progress. the doctor said it could take a while,"
you nod, finally looking up at him. he checks his watch, and comes into the livingroom.
"you take it easy okay? don't strain yourself," he kisses your forehead and heads back to the front door. "i love you,"
"love you too dad," you murmur, watching him leave.
when you can no longer hear the rumble of his truck, you decide to head up to your room. until the accident you'd kept a near meticulous set of diaries, if you can find the one you was working on, maybe it can shed some light on what's going on.
it's weird, you're you, living in your body, but up until six months ago you were a completely different person. it's like living inside a stranger. you step into your room, it's a mess. clothes litter the floor, spilling from your closet, empty take away coffee cups, empty mugs from downstairs and energy drink cans litter the top of your dresser and desk. you go to the hall closet across from your room and grab a garbage bag and head back in. might as well clean up.
a few hours later you stand in the center of your now clean room. all your clean clothes have been re-folded or hung up, all the dirty clothes are in the wash and there's not a single thing out of place. except for—you squint, dropping to your knees in front of your bed, leaning down to pull two cardboard boxes from underneath. one is marked MY NOTEBOOKS, DON'T TOUCH (THAT MEANS YOU ARCH) in all caps—obviously your diaries, but the other has no label. you take off the lid and audibly gasp at the contents. sitting on top is a leather jacket with the southside serpents logo on the back, under the jacket is a dark green journal, a white handled switchblade, your old cellphone and a set of keys.
the screen on the phone is shattered, pretty near unusable by most people's standards. no one knew where your phone was after the crash. you'd just written it off as lost... finding it here, in this box changes things. you put it on the charger, and sit cross legged on the floor. maybe it'll be able to turn it on, if not you could to take it to a repair shop. you pick up the jacket, and check all the pockets. inside the left pocket is a half crumpled note, you pull it out and flatten it. it's definitely not your writing. it has one sentence, and it crushes you.
i love you too - sweet pea
you drop your hand holding the paper into your lap. that just makes everything even worse. does he know that you lost your memories? does he know about the accident? does toni? do they think you're pretending? were you on your way to see him when you crashed?
"fuck," you whisper, pulling your knees up to your chest.
you wanted the truth, and you got it, well part of it. how do you process all of this? how do you fix this? god, you just want to scream. throw things. have a little bit of a meltdown. it won't fix anything, but it might make you feel better. you rest your forehead on the edge of your bed and sit there on the floor, the jacket half hanging out of the box.
"hey?" comes archie's voice from the hallway, i jump at the sound. "hey- are you okay?"
you kick the box under your bed and glance up to see archie. he stops at the threshold, looking intently at you. you hear more sets of feet coming up the steps.
"i—"
you want to lie, you want to tell him you're fine. say everything's a-ok. but it's not. it's really not. and then betty, jughead and veronica come up behind archie and the damn breaks. you start violently, and uncontrollably sobbing into my arms. how did you wake up a year and a half older with such resentment for your three best friends? how did your life fall apart so quickly?
"hey, sh, sh, you're okay, everything's okay," archie says dropping to his knees to envelope you in a hug.
the other drop down on the floor with you. veronica and betty rub your back soothingly. you need to apologize, but you can't stop crying. maybe that's just as well, still a meltdown, just a different kind you suppose.
"i'm sorry!" you cry, frantically wiping your eyes with the sleeve of your sweater.
you dislike crying in front of people, and you know most people don't like having someone cry in front of them. you try and steady your breathing.
"hey, you don't have to apologize," veronica says. "we've all kind of been terrible friends since your accident,"
"that's why we're here," betty adds, patting your shoulder comfortingly.
"that's why they're here," jughead says, and betty swats at him and misses. "hey! let me finish woman! i was going to say, i've been a great friend. we had lots of fun working at the drive-in together,"
"jug..." betty says softly, using that same tone people often use when they're tip-toing around things that might hurt you. she shakes her head slightly, "she doesn't—"
"hey! don't talk about me like i'm not here!" you say loudly, all three of them turn to look at you. "i'm not fragile, you don't have to choose your words carefully around me, i have amnesia not brain damage."
"you're right," veronica says, staring each of them down until they nod. "we all need to stop treating you like glass,"
you quickly stand, your back to them for a minute. you take a deep breath, and turn around.
"arch, what were we fighting about when i left?" you ask, and he looks at you for a moment before swallowing, hard.
"you felt abandoned," he says, his eyes falling to the black rug they're sitting on. "you were upset because we were going on our annual nyc trip, but i'd also promised ronnie i'd help her with something in the morning, and i wanted to push the trip back by two, three hours. and you got really upset and exploded on me—it was entirely justified on your end—there was a lot of things you wanted to do together over the summer and i either canceled or forgot. i was a shitty brother."
"no, arch, you weren't. i'm sure i was just being drama—" you start, but archie raises his hand and you stop.
"no, i was being selfish. i made you a promise, and i broke it. i'm sorry," archie says, standing up and pulling you into a tight hug. "i'm sorry, i really am."
"and we're sorry," jughead says, as archie lets you go. "we thought that giving you some space would be a good thing, but we all got a little caught up in our own shit."
"i understand that, however, i've been alone pretty much for six months." you reply, crossing your arms over your chest.
"you've had cheryl, and jason, and reggie—you seemed like you were pretty happy..." betty says, and you shrug, looking away from her.
"cheryl is nice— but all we talk about is her. jason's fun to hang with but we have nothing in common other than reggie and cheryl. and reggie.." you sigh, staring out your window over their heads. "reggie made sense."
"he made sense?" veronica asks, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"picking reggie made sense, and don't get me wrong i do like reggie, he's a great guy—a good listener, great at solving problems, fun to hang out with and all—but there's no connection." you sigh, you briefly contemplate telling them about the jacket, about your supposed summer with the serpents, but decide against it for now.
"are you going to break up with him?" archie asks, and you shrug in reply.
"i probably should," you sigh again, why does all of this have to be so damn hard? "did he ask about me when i disappeared this morning?"
"yeah, i told him you weren't feeling well. dad text me about you being home," archie says, and you nod.
"well, i say we grab dinner at pops tonight like old times," veronica says when the silence goes on a beat too long.
"honestly, i would love that, but i have to tie up some lose ends first. i'll meet you guys there at," you pause, walking over to your old phone, tapping the screen, relief shoots through you when it lights up, "say, 6?"
"sounds good," betty says, and they all stand up.
you unplug your phone, pocketing it as jughead, archie and veronica file out, heading back downstairs, but betty lingers.
"you okay, cooper?" you ask, teasingly.
she turns towards you sharply, hands clasped behind her back, "this morning, i— i really was trying to touch base with you. i know that the whole southside thing kind of has half the school losing it, but you told archie no, and i wasn't going to push it. he mentioned that you were upset about the group not reconnecting with you after everything, and i just wanted to see how you were— are."
"i owe you an apology for how i acted, i was frustrated with arch, not that that's an excuse, but i just kind of snapped. i'm really sorry, i shouldn't have taken that out on you betty,"
"your anger is justified, we should have been by you every step of the way—"
"you were busy, things happen. i missed you guys, sure, but this entire thing has been insane. i woke up six months ago with no memories from the last year. and to be fair, it's not like i made much of an effort with you guys."
"well, we're all okay now. and, you could never truly get rid of us,"
you let out a short laugh, throwing your arm over her shoulder, leading her out into the hallway.
"and you couldn't get rid of me if you tried," you say, and betty grins at you, her arm circling your back as you descend the stairs.
you're standing outside the mantle's house, trying to decide if now is really the best time to be doing this, but your rationality wins out and you move towards the door before you lose your nerve. you raise your hand to knock, but the door flies open and you're met face to face with mrs. mantle.
"hi dear, are you okay?" she asks, a warm smile on her face.
"yes. ma'am, i just..." you were not prepared for his mom to open the door.
that was actually the worse possible thing that could have happened. mrs. mantle has always been such a kind, and wonderful person towards you. you almost wonder if she's the reason you'd let things between you and reggie continue as long as they have.
"sorry, is reggie home?" you ask, and she nods, stepping out of the way to let you in.
"he's upstairs doing homework, are you staying for supper?"
the longer you speak to her the more you're dreading following through with this. she's such a nice lady, and you're not entirely sure how reggie's going to handle this. you really don't want to lose her.
you force yourself to shake your head, "no ma'am, i just have to talk to reggie and then i have dinner plans with my brother,"
she nods again, and you slip your shoes off, and head upstairs.
you've been here so many times that you don't even have to think about where you're going. as such, this leaves time for you to panic and try to talk yourself out of it. you're not sure why. reggie had been a crush of yours for a long time, from middle school to freshman year at least. when you woke up without your memories from the last year, you'd still felt that way about him. you'd been excited when he initially asked you out. mind you that excitement fizzled rather quickly, realizing what the arrangement meant for your relationship.
you were disappointed, sure, but you weren't blindsided by any means. reggie had always given you the kind of vibe that he wasn't interested in settling down just yet. so, when you push his partially closed door open and find him with his tongue down the throat of a different cheerleader, you're not entirely shocked. the girl notices you first, she's younger than you and reggie by at least a year, and she squeals, pulling away from him. he doesn't notice you at first, his eyebrows pulling together in confusion before he follows her eyeline. they both look like deer, and you're the headlights.
"uh, h-hey..." reggie musters, sitting down beside the girl, "i think you should probably go,"
"y-yeah, g-go...." she says, jumping up and flying out of the room.
you stare at him, unsure of how to continue. sure, he'd made this infinitely easier on you, but at the same time you still find yourself hurting a bit.
"i'm sorry," he says, dropping his head into his hands.
"despite our "arrangement", reg," you use air quotes, "i thought you respected me more than this,"
"i do!" his voice comes out loud, then softer, "i do."
the silence that follows is deafening, and feels like it stretches for hours. he doesn't look at you the whole time, his eyes trained on the ground.
"well, you've made this decision a whole lot easier for me. i'm breaking up with you, reg." you sigh, "i don't hate you; i'm not mad at you; i am a bit disappointed, but i think we were kind of doomed from the start. maybe in a couple months we can try to be friends, just friends. if you're down with that..."
he raises his head, guilt written clear across his features, but he nods, "i'm sorry, sunshine. i really, really am."
"i know reg," you say, leaning down to give his hand a squeeze. "so am i,"
you turn to leave, hesitanting in the doorway.
"reg?"
"yeah?"
you turn to look at him, "see you around,"
4:50pm. you have about an hour and ten minutes before you have to meet archie and the others. you plop down on your bed, and flip your diary open. there are only eight entries.
entry 1: may 16th
i can't do this anymore. faking everything. it's driving me fucking insane. betty, ronnie, and archie are always flaking on me. internship this. summer job that. charity this. sorry i forgot that. jug is the only one who hasn't consistently left me hanging, and we're not even all that close. that being said, out of all of them, i'm starting to change my tune on that. he's even offered to talk to his manager about possibly getting me a summer job at the twilight. which would be killer, i'm there for most of the showings anyway. at least i'll get paid for doing something i already enjoy. then at least i'll have something going on. i'm honestly not ok with them constantly rescheduling things but for whatever reason i just sit there and take it. i need to start putting myself first, and find some friends that put in just as much effort as i do. i wonder if the three of them will even notice if i stop putting in the effort.
entry 2: may 19th
guess who has a new job!!! me!!!!!!!! i'm so excited, i don't think i've been this happy about something in a long time. i start tomorrow night, and jug's already introduced me to some of his coworkers. i'll be working in concession. we're even allowed to sit outside and watch the movie when we're between customers. i'm so looking forward to having this. betty, ronnie and i were supposed to go shopping today but they both just texted to cancel. go figure.
entry 3: may 20th
first day was a success! my new coworkers are so nice, i even made quick friends with a girl named toni. she's got pink highlights in her hair which really suit her. i also overheard that she's a southside serpent. mind you she doesn't really seem like the kind of people i’ve been told are in that motorcycle gang. then again, you're not supposed to believe everything you hear.
okay!! it's later now, and toni asked me if i wanted to hang out with her and her friends at the quarry tomorrow!! that's the first time in a really long time someone’s asked me to do something with them! i, of course said yes! i’m so excited!!
just got back from the quarry, i had so much fun. more fun than i’ve had all year! toni is so much fun to be around, she has the best energy, and it's just so refreshing to be around someone who actually wants to do things and live in the moment. the last time i hung out with ronnie and betty they were both glued to their cellphones, undoubtedly texting jug and archie. i also met her two best friends sweet pea and fangs, who are also super cool. they were really nice, and welcoming. i was pretty nervous, because i’d seen the two of them at the drive-in with fp a bunch of times, so i knew they were serpents, but they were both so nice! i’m really starting to wonder if the serpents are as “bad” and as much of a problem as other northsiders insist they are.
entry 4: june 21st
oh god, it’s been a month since my last entry. i have so much to write about… i honestly don't know where to start. i’ve been hanging out with toni, sweet pea and fangs pretty consistently since that day they invited me to the quarry. i’ve stopped chasing archie and his friends to hang out, and i was right in my guess that they wouldn't notice if i stopped trying. i haven't received a single text from any of them. i mean, i have from archie, but he’s my brother so that doesn't really count in my opinion. and i guess jug too, but we're coworkers and he was the only non-flake before anyway. either way, it’s been so nice having toni, fangs and sweet pea reaching out to make plans with me and when i reach out to them they actually follow through. we all have a lot in common; we enjoy a lot of the same music and tv shows.
toni is a god with her camera, i don't think i’ve seen more beautiful photography, and she takes the BEST candids. she’s taken so many pictures of us, she’s going to get me some physical copies for my scrapbook.
fangs can get you ANYTHING. he’s such a smooth talker that people just end up giving him things. he even got us into a sold out _ show. i’m really not sure how he managed, but we got escorted by security to the barricade.
i was supposed to go with betty, archie and ronnie, but i decided to flake on them for a change. that did get me a few texts from each of them, and i didn't answer them. i just turned off my phone and enjoyed the show. it was amazing!!!!!! i had an absolute blast.
i’ve also been spending more time with sweet pea… alone… (obviously, with toni & fangs too) he’s nothing like i thought he’d be when we met. here i go again judging a book by its cover, shame on me. but he’s so sweet, it took a bit to get him to open up to me, toni says he’s just protective, which i both completely agree and understand. with friends as cool as those two, i don't blame him. he goes out of his way for everyone; holding the door for old ladies, standing in the middle of a busy street so kids can cross. he seems so scary and mean, but that's just his defence. we've been getting a really close, and every time he asks me to hangout i get butterflies.
we're hanging out tonight too, i’m going to pick him up in twenty minutes and we're going to the quarry. i’m sitting in a booth at pop’s waiting for our food. i really like him, and i enjoy spending time with him. toni said she’s never seen him so happy, and that she thinks he likes me. i really hope he does, because i like him. i might even tell him as much tonight… that might be a bit too much, actually. i don't know. oh, pop’s calling my order, i’ll update you later!
just got back from the quarry, and oh. my. god. sweet pea kissed me! i was all nervous, and i decided i was going to tell him how i felt and before i got the words out, he leaned over and just did it! i’ve had a few kisses before, some good, some not so much, but this one? it was the BEST i’ve ever had. that thing you read about in fanfics or novels about fireworks or butterflies, it's REAL. he asked me out on a date too, and i’m literally so excited. i called toni before i added this update and she squealed. she was right, he does like me. mine and sweet pea’s date is wednesday night, we're going to watch a movieat the drive-in and then in the morning we're all going camping at sweetwater river.
my phone is ringing… it’s archie? weird, he usually texts me. i’m going to answer him, i’ll be right back.
just got off the phone with arch. mom is coming down from chicago for the weekend, and we were supposed to go together to pick her up, now he’s backed out on me and i have to go alone. what could be more important than picking mom up from the airport?! especially considering we rarely see her. whatever, i guess it’ll give us time to talk.
entry 5: june 30th
just dropped mom back off at the airport. this visit was so fucked. i picked her up, we had a lovely conversation, and then she asked me where arch was and i had to lie to her. he said he was going to call her and let her know, but apparently he didn't. then, he didn’t show up for family dinner, which he was also supposed to help me cook (spoiler: he DIDN’T). when mom and dad asked where he was, i was like a dear caught in headlights. i have no fucking clue!! i called him, and BAM! voicemail. mom calls him and woah, he picks up first ring. he lies, and gets away with it. arch was gone all weekend which screwed up my itinerary. i mean, seeing mom was the highlight, obviously, but archie and i planned all this stuff and we didn't get to do any of it. not to mention, archie had promised he’s take mom to the airport because he was gone all weekend, and then he didn't show! again! i had plans with toni, and i had to apologize and cancel on her (which isn't fair to her or me (but fuck us i guess??)) anyway, i’m banking on archie cancelling our yearly trip to nyc with everything going on. i’d lay money on it now.
entry 6: july 1st
i’m so mad right now. archie saw me and sweet pea coming out of pop’s with lunch, and got in sweets face. he has NO RIGHT. especially considering how much he's left me hanging lately. i will admit, i did something i shouldn't have, but he said something he definitely shouldn't have (that i shant repeat here (just know it's vile)) and i then punched him. sweets then threw me over his shoulder and carried me to my car. i bruised the crap out of my hand, archie’s got a hard face i guess. toni and fangs tried to lighten the mood when we got back but i couldn't help myself. sweet pea and i ended up leaving early, and we just drove around for a while. when i finally did calm down, he thanked me for standing up for him. why wouldn't i?? archie has no right to treat any of my friends like that, let alone my maybe boyfriend (we haven't really labelled it yet). and archie’s one to talk about people’s “priorities” and who they “really” are, seeing as toni, sweet pea and fangs have done nothing but be great friends and have been there for me all summer and he (MY! TWIN! BROTHER!) couldn’t even see his mother while she was down from chicago. i haven't seen archie since our altercation at pop’s and i’m more than okay with that.
entry 7: august 15th
sweet pea and i got into a fight. it’s nothing major, and i know he’s just looking out for me, but somethings aren’t really any of his business. namely, things involving my family. i was telling him about mine and archie’s annual trip to nyc, and how this will be the first year that it’s just the two of us. mom and dad usually go with us, and it’s the highlight of our summer. i’ve been really looking forward to it, and that i’m hoping this will help mend the tear we’ve both been helping create in our relationship. i’m not going to entirely blame arch because i’ve definitely not helped… especially when i punched him in the face in july. he’s finally speaking to me again. it took a couple of weeks and awkwardly dodging each other but we’re at least talking again. which is progress i guess. we haven’t talked about it either. he just walked into my room last tuesday and started telling about this video he saw, and then everything was fine again. we’ve always been like that, but what archie said really isn’t ok, and what i did really isn’t ok either. i plan to bring it up on our trip. anyway, back to sweets, he’s worried i’m going to get super hyped up about this trip and then archie’s going to yank the carpet from under my feet (kind of like he’s been doing all summer, but i digress). we leave in two days, and so far everything seems to be going well. i should apologize to sweets before we leave though, cause i did kind of snap at him… adding that to the to-do list.
entry 8: august 17th
fuck archie. FUCK. HIM. sweets was right. FUCK EVERYTHING. GODDAMN NORTHSIDERS.
that was it, the last entry. you wrote that the night of your accident. that's why you were in your car. that's where you were headed. you close the diary, and smack it off your forehead. you close your eyes, and then let out a scream of frustration. you throw the book across your room, and pull your old phone from your pocket. you sift through your text threads, you'd sent more outgoing messages to betty, veronica and archie then they'd sent back to you for months before your accident. turns out they weren't just shitty friends afterwards.
you pause for a moment, your finger hovering over fp jones' contact. why would you have jughead's dad's number? up until hiram started causing a stir in town, jughead hadn't even been living with his dad so you never would've needed to contact him. you click it and a bunch of text messages load in.

things were falling into place for you. they were shitty friends before. you were going to need new ones regardless, that's how you ended up in friendship purgatory at riverdale high. cheryl just isn't your cup of tea, and you're still not sure how you feel about reggie after everything you witnessed this afternoon. one thing you do know; you owe some people an explanation. you close out of the messages, and go to your gallery. the first picture that you see is one of you, toni, sweet pea and fangs, your faces all pressed together cheek to cheek, smiling widely. you smile, and then suddenly it's like a damn breaks and a years worth of memories come flooding in. you drop the phone, and rush downstairs, grabbing your keys from the bowl by the front door.
"you guys are terrible fucking friends," you say, not really caring to control the level of your voice as you stomp towards your brother and his friends. "not you jug, you're fine, i'm talking about these three."
archie, veronica and betty share confused looks then look up at you. you tower over their table, anger coursing through you. you stare the three of them down quietly, eyes darting from one to the other, to the other.
"uh, didn't we already go over that?" veronica asks, her tone light and joking.
"not really," you say, "i got my memories back, and you guys were fucking terrible. what did i do to deserve being cancelled on, and forgotten about so easily by you three? especially you arch, you're my brother. my twin. you of everyone are supposed to have my back!"
betty and veronica's eyes drop to their laps, and archie freezes, his eyes wide.
"while i appreciate your apology from before archie, with all the facts, i don't accept. what you did was fucking shitty, and i never would have done that to you. never. as for you two, if you don't like me, or just don't like hanging out with me, or just don't want to be my friend, stop making plans with me. i'm done being treated like that, and if any of you want to make things right, actually make things right, you'll be able to find me with my real friends; toni, sweet pea and fangs. who, unlike you three, actually like spending time with me. and for the record, are really good people, and deserve to be treated with respect." you turn on your heels to leave, and then pause at the last booth, whipping back around, "also, fuck you guys."
you pray that you're right about this. you never hung out with them during school, so you weren't sure if they were going to be at the quarry tonight. the weather's still nice, so you're hoping that you're right. you turn onto the familiar dirt road, and catch sight of their bikes in the distance of your headlights. relief washes over you as you get closer, you see three figures walking towards you and you pull in beside the bikes, like you had so many times before. you turn the car off, and jump out.
"fucking hell, andrews! you scared the shit out of us!" you hear fangs yell, a bark of laughter leaving him.
"guys--" you say, walking closer to them, your heart beating hard against your ribs.
you almost wonder if it's going to beat right out of your chest, you're so nervous, but you're so happy to see them. you missed them.
"told you she knew who we were." sweet pea sneers, cutting you off. "what schools out so you can be friends with us again?"
"what? no--" you start but he cuts you off again.
"where were you? why are you back now?" he bites out, and toni smacks him.
"shut up and let her talk." toni says, nodding at you. "go,"
"i got into a car accident on august 17th. i have no idea how, or what happened, but i was trapped in that car for four hours, and spent two days in a coma. then when i woke up, i couldn't remember anything that happened over the last year. i now remember everything, and am really, really sorry for unintentionally ghosting you guys for six months." you pause to take a breath, and gage their reactions, "i know how this all sounds, but i promise i'm telling the truth,"
toni smirks, stepping forward to throw her arms around you, "i'm glad you're back, i fucking missed you."
you hug her tightly, "i missed you guys way more,"
"i bet you did," she laughs, letting you go, and stepping back.
you hug her tightly, "i missed you guys way more,"
"i bet you did," she laughs, letting you go, and stepping back.
she turns to look at fangs, and sweet pea and holds her hand out, “c’mon boys, cough it up.”
begrudgingly, they both pull five dollars out of their pockets and drop it into her hand. fangs then moves past her, and scoops you into a bone crushing hug.
“missed you,” he whispers, then lets you go.
“missed you too,” you smile, and the pair of them slowly slink back to the fire they’d been sitting around, giving you and sweet pea space.
sweet pea stares at you, dark eyes unreadable, his posture tense. it takes you back to how he was when you met for the first time. closed off, on guard, and analytical. you want to reach out for him, wrap yourself around him and never let go. you’re not sure he’s ready for that, so you shove your hands deep into the pockets of your jacket. your fingers catching the slip of paper he’d given you months ago, curling around it, you put it out and his eyes close briefly.
“i understand if you need space,” you say carefully, unfolding the small scrap. “but if you ever actually meant this, you have to know that i never would have left you hanging like that intentionally.”
he takes the note from you, his eyes leaving yours to look at it. he stays quiet for what feels like an eternity.
“i know.” he finally speaks, eyes still on the note. “deep down, i knew you wouldn't have left. not when you socked your brother for me. i was just so mad… at myself for what i said to you last, at you, for not following through on your text… then seeing you at school– it didn't make sense. instead of really thinking about it, like toni did, i just–” his eyes meet yours again, “i don't know, i let my fears take hold, i guess.”
"i--"
"JUST KISS ALREADY; YOU LOVE HER, HE LOVES YOU, THE END-"
"FANGS, SHUT UP!" toni yells, the sound of her smacking him and him asking her to stop follows.
you and sweet pea share a glance, and then both break out in giggles. when the giggles subside, you step closer to him, your hand landing on his shoulder.
"i love you, sweets, and if you need time—"
"i've had enough time, what i need now, is you." he says before pulling you against him, and kissing you.
he pulls back briefly, letting you catch your breath, "i love you too,"

Part two of gold rush where they get their cottage in whales please 🙏🏽
PEACE — regulus black.

SUMMARY. — you and Regulus live happily ever after. that's it.
PAIRING. — regulus black x fem!pureblood!reader
WARNINGS. — fluff, kinda au cause reg doesnt get the dark mark
A/N. — i didnt plan on doing a part 2 but oh well <3 anyways! heres part 1; this is so short im sorry!!!
war is over. as much as you can't believe it, it's true. Voldemort is dead, mostly thanks to Regulus' brother and his friends' actions, and to the Order's activity. it ended weeks ago.
meanwhile, you and your husband have been hiding here for the past three years, ever since graduating Hogwart's. you've been hiding, like cowards, and unfortunately you can't feel shame or embarrassment in that regard. at least you're alive, unlike some of your friends. Evan didn't make it, which led to Barty's psychotic break. Dorcas' girlfriend, Marlene and her family didn't make it, killed by Voldemort personally this summer. Peter, who turned out to be a traitor, didn't make it either. there are a lot more loses on both sides of the war, of course, but you try not to think about it much.
it's early morning when you sit on the edge of your shared bed, reading through the letter from Lily that your owl just delivered. you take in the latest news from London, a small smile on your face. Lily's pregnant again, Sirius and Remus moved in together into Grimmauld Place, Mary's got a new cat. it all seems so mundane, after months and months of bad information, you shake your head at it.
you place the letter on your nightstand, then settle back to bed, turning around to find Regulus staring at you sleepily. your baby girl is still fast asleep in her crib by your bed.
"what's with the letter, huh?" Regulus rasps out, reaching his hand out to graze his fingers over your bare shoulder, leaving goosebumps in their wake. "is it Lily or Remus?"
"s'Lily. m'gonna write her back later after you read it." you murmur, careful to keep your voice down, and you sigh. "i have to feed Astra. can you make pancakes for breakfast?"
"sure." your husband nods, leans in to plant a quick peck on the bridge of your nose (he knows how much you despise morning breath), and gets up. as you watch him leave the bedroom you thank Merlin that he sleeps in only his boxers, and you can ogle his backside like a horny teenager as he walks away.
you roll onto your back, letting out a heavy breath, then glance at the crib just few feet from you, your four month old sucking on her dummy with her eyes already wide open.
almost forty-five minutes pass before you finally go downstairs. Astra is fed, changed and completely awake, swaddled in a baby wrap close to your chest. your steps are slow and deliberate as you make your way into the kitchen, where you are met with the sight of Regulus moving around the space, humming some tune under his breath whilst flipping pancakes. you stand in the doorway, just watching him happily before Astra betrays you with a bubbly shrieking laugh, her eyes focused on her daddy too.
"i'm almost done, ladies." your husband looks up at you, nodding you to come closer, and so you do. you lean back against the kitchen island, your hands resting under Astra's swaddled body, making sure she's held up alright. your baby keeps sending Regulus toothless smiles, cooing and babbling. she's been like this for only a few days after she hit a milestone.
you spend your days in peace like that. being a family. sometimes you go out for walks in the nearby woods, letting Astra nap in the fresh air. sometimes you sit in your garden, by the pond. sometimes you don't leave the house, lounging around all day and marvelling at the miracle your daughter was. today is one of these days. so domestic, most would deem boring. but that's what you love.
when you and Regulus go to bed that night, it's late. past midnight. you're certain Astra is starting teething, because she's been fussy ever since her afternoon nap. for now she's back asleep in her crib, although tossing and turning a bit, and you stare up at the ceiling mindlessly. you feel Regulus' hand creep over your body and resting on your hip, but you're too tired to even look at him now.
"ma chérie." he whispers, his thumb moving over your hip in soothing circles, and his other hand grips your chin lightly, turning your head in his direction. "hi."
"hi." you whisper back, nibbling on your lower lip as you stare into his grey eyes. you snuggle closer to him, your head resting on his chest and your arms wrap around his torso. "Merlin, you're always so cold."
Regulus snorts, and without looking up you know he's rolling his eyes, squeezing you in with his hands settling on your bum. you shiver at the feeling, reaching down to pull the covers over the two of you, and the moment you close your eyes a piercing wail sounds out from the crib. you practically jump out of bed, but Regulus brings you back down.
"stay. i'll go"

hi angel!!!! absolutely adore your blog and especially the way you write for regulus 🥹🥹 makes my heart so happy, like that’s baby boy!!!! thank you so much for sharing with us!!! i have a prompt request but only if you feel so inclined!!! number d8 “where is she?" with regulus, pretty please, like maybe something happens to reader and he is the last to find out (busy w quidditch or prefer things) so when someone finally tracks him down being like your girl needs you, his composure is for once non existent and he is panicking!!!! ughhh hurt/comfort with reg is everything!!! anyway only if you feel my up to my love no pressure ever - love your blog regardless 💗💗💗
hi my love<33 this is hands down the sweetest request i have received, thank you so much for being so kind 🤍🤍 i genuinely appreciate your words so much! as for the request, i adore some hurt/comfort with reg, and this is an idea i've had for a while, so it was so fun to write
Prompt: D.8 "Where is she?"
Words: 6k
Warnings: not proofread, fem!reader, severe injury (happens off screen, explained and treated on screen), lacerations, typical regulus anxiety (overworked), best friends to lovers, pomfrey being a badass, snape is a villain, animal abuse (technically), background marlene, rosekiller, etc.

It was common knowledge that Slytherin quidditch practice was never to be disturbed, especially this close to the final match of the season against Gryffindor.
This was Regulus’ first year as captain and he was determined for it to be written in the history books as a victorious one, to make himself deserving of the title. Playing opposite his brother and his best friends didn’t lessen the pressure much, either.
He knew he had been pushing the team quite hard, but he also knew that if anyone could handle it, it was them. Evan and Barty funnelled all their chaotic energy into quidditch once they realised just how much it mattered for their mate, and Dorcas had just as much to gain from winning against Marlene as Regulus had against Sirius. Fenwick had had his skull bashed in by enough bludgers in his career to not be able to formulate any complaints, even if he had them. The rest of the team were relatively young players, a risk most others had chastised Regulus for taking, but one that was playing off beautifully – and with those rumours, they wanted to prove themselves, too.
There really was little problem with this arrangement, he told himself, other than the fact that he was perhaps wearing himself a bit thin when balancing it all with his prefect duties and exams.
And, more importantly, missing you.
You had been the best friend he could have asked for during this hectic year of his, always standing by his side, just as much of a loyal team-player as those on his actual sports team. That unwavering dedication you had shown him over the years that taught him that maybe, just maybe, he was capable of being loved – and most definitely of loving, because Regulus would be damned if he didn’t admit that that was the only appropriate word for how he felt about you.
Not that he had told you that yet, though, and neither had you. It was never the right time, and you both knew, at least to some degree. For now, it was enough. You had each other, always, and it was enough. He told himself as much, at least.
Regulus was trying to zero his thoughts back on his team running through their plays off-broom on the ground, looking for any weakness in their formation, when the cardinal rule of not disturbing practice was broken.
“Black!” A voice shouted as it ran across the pitch from the school.
Regulus squeezed his eyes shut, trying to will the pestering fourth year away, one of those who just seemed to always be there, nameless and bothersome. It was to little avail, though, judging by the sounds of his heavy steps hitting the still somewhat moist dirt on the field.
“Black, I have to–”
“We are in the middle of a practice!” Regulus cut the kid off, letting his nerves get the better of him as he saw most of his players stop in the midst of what had been their best run-through so far. “Unless someone has died, it can wait.”
“But–”
“Has someone died?” Regulus had his hands on his hips, half aware that he looked way too much like his older brother as he regarded the student-shaped owl in front of him with derision.
“No, but–”
“Are someone in the midst of dying? Like within the hour?”
“N– no.”
“Then you may leave.” The student looked thoroughly confused, clearly not having been properly warned by whoever sent him as a make-shift owl that this was the only response he would be getting from Regulus. He could vaguely hear you whispering poor boy in his mind, always advocating for Regulus’ softer side, but right now he pushed it away as he turned back to his teammates. “Whatever it is will still be there when we are finished up here.”
Regulus didn’t wait for him to go before he began to pretend he was air, attention fully on his team once more.
Barty snickered as he tried to lean his chin on Evan’s shoulder, only to have the taller boy fully shove him off. Regulus shook his head, ignoring the crestfallen student beside him as he tried to increase his energy levels back to where they needed to be.
“Okay, that last round was getting closer to where we want to be. Ready to take to the sky for the last few minutes?”
When he finally stepped foot inside the quidditch locker rooms, Regulus sped through his shower routine. He was eager to get out of there and back to the dorms quick enough to have sufficient time to spend with you before going to sleep. He had half a mind to ask you to sleep in his bed tonight, but he wondered if that might be pushing it since you just did that a few nights ago. Nothing ever happened, of course, you were just the best of friends – and even if you had been something more, it was hard for anything to happen with Evan and Barty in the same room.
You just brought him a sense of peace he found himself craving more day by day. He wished to squeeze out every ounce of it he possibly could.
His hair was still wet, bag thrown about as haphazardly over his shoulder as he could allow himself to without spiralling – which is to say, he still looked perfectly polished to anyone but him. He turned to give the team lingering behind an attempt at an emphatic great work today that ended up falling a bit short from his hoarse voice. Thankfully, everyone else seemed tired enough to accept it without reservation, and Regulus could exit the changing room before all but running towards the Slytherin dorms.
On his way there, he passed through the Great Hall, attempting to slow his stride to look a bit more composed, but quite ready to throw all of it away for the night just to curl up with you.
“Re- Regulus?!”
Sirius’ incredulous voice sounded behind him, and though Regulus loved his brother dearly, he took a deep sigh at the disturbance, knowing that, with him, it would likely not be a short one.
“That would be me.” Regulus turned around with a sarcastic half-smile, only for it to waver when he saw the expression on Sirius’ face.
There was an evident tension in his face when he looked Regulus up and down, as if trying to figure him out while a thousand thoughts ran through his mind. Sirius’ lips were pressed tight, as if holding back a severe frown and his eyes were decidedly clouded with worry.
“Reg, what are you doing here?” His voice conveyed more confusion than upset, but both were woven into his tone.
“I’m… on my way to Slytherin? We just finished practice.”
It was as if Sirius found an answer to his confusion as his face settled into a form of defeat. “You don’t know.”
“Don’t know what?” Regulus stared his brother down, heart speeding up in his chest, but he could feel it in his whole body. “What is it, Siri?”
“James sent someone to tell you,” Sirius says, speaking more to himself.
“Tell me what?” Regulus’ patience was worn thin by his pulse straining his skin.
“Uh, it’s Y/N.” Pangs shot through his body, pulling every vein taut. “She– she will be fine, don’t worry, but–”
“Where is she?”
Regulus struggled to make out where Sirius stood in front of him as the world seemed to tunnel around him and his mind was immediately elsewhere, immediately with his best girl, imagining any possible horror that might have overcome you. Had it not been for Sirius’ delivery of the news and the way he looked at Regulus, he might have felt more calm. But he had always known his big brother to be more composed than this.
“The infirmary–”
He didn’t need to hear more before he was running at full speed down the hallway.
Little to nothing registered with Regulus on the way to the infirmary, that he for the first time in his life realised was located painfully far away from the Great Hall. Illogical, given how many students go through there throughout their days.
He felt lighter than ever as he was entirely certain he had never run this quickly in his life, simultaneously as every limb felt heavy with worry.
She will be fine is only reassuring if he was concerned you had died – in every other scenario it is the worst thing to hear, because it confidently means you are not fine right now.
Regulus is half aware that he has run through two ghosts, into one student and past a professor – he thinks maybe Flitwick? – but he paid none of them any mind, willing to take the point deductions or even detentions, if only they don’t slow him down. He can deal with everything and anything else later.
When he finally reached the door to the infirmary, it took everything in him to come to a halt.
He all but crashed into the door, catching himself with one hand on the doorframe as he breathed heavy, giving himself but two seconds to collect himself, lest he be banned from the infirmary by life by Madam Pomfrey. That was not something he could afford right now.
Still heaving, he opened the door and took two steps inside – before his vision became entirely swamped by that very same woman, standing with her hands on her hips.
“Is she here?” He tried to get out before she could say anything.
“No visitors at the moment,” Madam Pomfrey said sternly.
“Please, is she here?” Regulus couldn’t even think to say your name, but the look on the matron’s face told him she knew.
“She is, and she is alright, but there will be no visitors at the moment.” Her voice was a bit softer now, but she was not relenting and she was not moving.
Regulus’ breath picked back up, and he didn’t register the tears that were forming in his eyes. A choked please was forming on his tongue when–
“Please.”
You beat him to it. Your meek voice sounded from a few curtains down behind Madam Pomfrey. Regulus didn’t hear the noise that escaped him when he heard the soft pain in your usually chipper voice, but the matron did. Still, it seemed to be on your account and not the lovestruck, fear-sickened boy in front of her, that she took a step to the side.
“Only you, and it must be brief.”
Her words were mostly caught by the air that Regulus left in his wake the moment she moved to the side, because as soon as he could he was by the curtain he had heard you speak from behind, ever so gently pulling it to the side.
“Oh, mon amour.”
The sight he was faced with both mended and broke his heart – because you were there, awake and already looking at him, but your forehead and right arms were bandaged and your face bore telltale signs of pain. He could see tear tracks down your delicate cheeks, mascara smudging just barely beneath your eyes. You looked happy to see him, he could see your chest heave a breath of relief, but that was about the only positive thing he could decipher in you at the moment.
At last, his movements were measured and careful again, but for once not for the sake of how he was perceived, but rather to not disturb the space around you, as if that could lessen your pain. He barely managed to close the curtain behind him with trembling hands, giving you a semblance of privacy, even in this infirmary that he had no idea hosted how many others.
There was enough space on the left side of the bed beside you for Regulus to take his rightful place by your side, as close as he dared. His eyes kept jumping all over your body and face, breath hitched.
Your name escaped his lips in a small breath as his eyes widely roamed your form.
He didn’t realise his hand was hovering between you before you reached up to him with your left hand and took it in yours. Your grip was weak and the tips of your fingers cold, but it was still the smooth skin he was used to feeling on his.
Upon your touch, he seemed to be brought back down to earth and the welling tears spilled down his cheeks.
“Oh, Reggie,” you whispered, squeezing his hand. “It’s okay, I’m alright.”
“My poor love,” he whispered back, letting his free hand move up to lightly caress your cheek, brushing some damp hair away. It must have gotten wet when Pomfrey tended to whatever wound was bandaged on your upper forehead. “What happened to you, amour?”
Regulus often referred to you with terms of endearment, you knew you were each other’s person, but the absolute softness of them now broke your heart a little.
“It was…” you trailed off, wincing as you scrunched your brows in confusion and consequently pulled on your bandage. “It was an accident.” The sound that escaped you was almost a laugh, but it was too wet and strangled to truly be classified as such.
“What happened?” Regulus’ voice urged, more desperate than before. He held your hand tighter, bringing it closer to his chest, as if to protect it.
“We were helping Kettleburn – unwillingly mind you –”
“Who are we?” Regulus cuts you off, still seeming rather feverish in his desperation to know what was wrong. You squeezed his hand and smiled at him to calm him down.
“An unfortunate bunch of us who happened to be enjoying the fresh air by the benches. Me, Lily, Marlene, Snape, Avery and some others we don’t really know too well, mostly fourth years.”
Regulus scowled at the mention of Snape and Avery, but nodded, as if encouraging you to continue.
“Kettleburn needed some help preparing bait. He believed there was a hippogriff in the Forbidden Forest that he wanted to draw out. It worked a bit too well, a bit too well.”
His brows scrunched at that. “But hippogriffs are mainly peaceful unless you disturb them?” Unease was growing in his stomach.
“Yes, that’s what I said as well,” you feel a bout of dizziness come over you, but try and speak through it. “We were down, probably a bit too close to the forest when it came out. I tried to push the bait towards it carefully, keeping my distance. It just wanted food, you know.”
“But?”
“But Snape and Avery freaked. When it took a step closer, just to eat – they let curses fly, kneejerk self defence reaction they said.”
Regulus had to be mindful to not hurt your hand as his fists clenched on reflex. He settled for holding the sheets beside him disturbingly hard instead – he had already pieced together what happened. “You were still in the line of fire,” he concluded, eyes darkening.
“Yes,” you whispered weakly. “It would have been fine, if it had only been a stupefy or something, but Snape shouted something else, some freak hex. It was like being slashed with a knife all over.”
Regulus’ breath hitched as he let his eyes travel from gauze to gauze. His fingers came up to linger near a particularly large bandage that travelled from your shoulder in under your hospital gown. “All over?” His voice was a mere whisper before he finally looked in your eyes again. He found them teary, and his heart clenched painfully.
“Yeah, I– The biggest one is across my stomach. Pomfrey has patched me up nicely, but it was, uh, it wasn’t good.”
He can’t fight the new tears that spill as he whispers my girl before carefully shuffling closer to you to give you a hug, or at least as close to one you could get right now. His cheek is pressed into yours, his hand on the back of your head, and you can hear him cry directly into your ear, drawing tears from you as well. “I’m so sorry,” he whispered into you. “So sorry, amour.”
“Reggie, there was nothing you could do,” you try to look at him, but his grip on your head remains steadfast.
“No, I should have been there. I’m so sorry.” He presses a kiss to your upper cheek, and his lips are wet. “I should’ve been there.”
“Reg, there was no way anyone could have known.”
He pulls back slightly, looking you over to see if he was hurting you before settling in with his forehead against yours – making sure to avoid the wound in the top left. When his eyes look into yours, you feel a sense of calm finally wash over your body that had been riddled by the shock of being torn open. A grey safe haven.
“I’m sorry, amour.” He keeps saying it like a prayer.
You try to shake your head, but wince at the action. His hand immediately shoots up to your jaw, to still your head. Protecting you, even from yourself. “You’re not allowed to be sorry, Reg, you didn’t do anything. You can only feel sorry for me, which isn’t quite that hard. I look pathetic right now.”
Your half-hearted attempt at humour doesn’t seem to drag him from his despair as his eyes keep searching your face, flitting from the tears to the deviating makeup. His thumb, ever so carefully, drags under your eye to wipe away some of the mascara there. You lean into his touch.
“They tried to tell me, but I– I didn’t know, so I didn’t listen and–”
“You were at quidditch practice,” you cut him off. “Everyone knows you can’t be disturbed then.”
Regulus looked at you incredulously. “This is disturb-worthy, you – anything with you is always the biggest priority. I’m sorry.”
“One girl versus preparing for the match of your life? Hm, I think it’s good you weren’t distracted.” You are determined to lighten his mood, the sinch of his eyebrows and worry in his eyes were beginning to make you feel sick for him.
“But you’re my girl,” he says in a low voice, stressing the words as if to pour additional meaning. “You’re my best friend, my everything. Y/N, you are everything.”
You struggle to come up with a response to that. Any mask Regulus switches between is completely discarded in this small infirmary section with you. When he holds your face and looks at you, you know what it is.
Unable to speak over the lump in your throat, you just drag his face closer to press a sweet kiss to his cheek, as always.
Except this time, while your lips linger on his cheek, Regulus uses his hand still on your jaw to angle your face towards his. With your lips millimetres apart, he looks from them to your eyes, searching for something, and then back down. He whispers another soft everything before pressing his lips to yours.
For all the times you had thought of kissing Regulus, nothing compared. You never expected there to be salty from tears, you never imagined his scent in your nose to be swirled with the disinfectant covering everything around you – but he was right, it was everything. His lips were unbelievably soft against yours, even as he pushed himself even closer to you, as if he needed you underneath his skin, not just on top of it. The pinky underneath your jaw digs into your skin, and you can feel your pulse beat against his finger.
When Regulus pulls away, your mouths are still essentially connected, slightly parted, just breathing into each other. You open your eyes and find him looking at you with nothing short of love.
“I–”
“I love you.” You cut him off, smiling a bit as he half feigns indignance before it turns soft once more.
“I love you, belle fille.”
“I know.”
Finally, finally he gives you a genuine smile. It eases your nerves more than even his eyes could, and you feel yourself melting back into your pillow. Unfortunately, comfort makes you even more aware of the pain and soreness in your body, but he doesn’t need to know that.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers again, mostly to himself it seems.
“I won’t allow that.” You tug your intertwined hands closer to you, wanting to share the comfort with him. “I’m alright, Reggie.”
“You’re wounded and bandaged.”
“And I’m perfectly okay.”
He gives you an as if look, but it’s good enough for you, for now. Then his face twisted into something darker and you saw the same desperation from earlier bubbling to the surface.
“What happened to Snape? And Avery?” His hold on you is still soft and caring, but the rest of his body has grown stiff, mind racing with imagined visions of what went down and of what he would do with them in return.
“Nothing yet,” you said with a careful, measured voice. “Kettleburn wanted to ease the situation first, but since it was technically his fault for bringing us along unprompted, I’m not sure what would be done. Detention maybe?”
“Yeah, Kettleburn’s an idiot for that, but Snape was the one who used an unorthodox and probably dark hex. He has to be dealt with.”
Though you don’t condone how fast some of your friends resorted to revenge and violence, even you had to admit that the idea of Snape knowing magic like that didn’t sit right with you either. There was no situation you could imagine where a slasher spell like that would be moral in combat.
“I’m sure they will deal with him tomorrow,” you settle on. “Tonight the main priority seemed to be making sure I don’t bleed out on the grounds.”
Regulus’ look was pained as he pressed his lips together. “How did you get in after that anyway?”
“I don’t remember too well.” You truly didn’t, and the flashes that went through your mind were not ones Regulus would be better off knowing about. “Kettleburn shushed the Hippogriff back into the forest – it thankfully didn’t get severely injured it seemed – while everyone else panicked. Lily and Marlene were the first ones by my side.”
You both smile absentmindedly at that. When you first befriended Lily through your study sessions at the library, Regulus had been unsure of how to approach your joint integration into his brother’s friend group, but the girls had turned out to be some of the best friends you could have asked for.
“Oh!” you exclaim, almost straddling Regulus. “Almost forgot, but you’ll be happy to know that Marlene suckerpunched Snape before they brought me inside with a levitation spell. Pretty gnarly punch, too.”
Regulus’ smiled seemed to be less from gratification and more from endearment from you. “I think I’d like to see Snape get a little more than a punch for what he did to you. But that’s a great start, darling.”
You rolled your eyes playfully at him. “It’s a start. And again, we can deal with all of that tomorrow. I don’t have the energy today.”
“No, no, you are the only priority right now, amour.” Any mirth slipped from his face as he studied you concernedly once more.
“I know you’re “alright”, but you’re not alright” he started. “Could you tell me where it hurt the most?” He looks over you again, as if he can map you out and fight your pain off, spot by spot.
“My stomach and chest got it worst,” you admit. “It’s growing more sore, but Madam said I could get more pain relief in just a little while.”
“Well, she also said I could only stay here for a short while,” he whispers conspiratorially, looking towards the curtain as if he expected it to be ripped back any minute. “Pretty sure we’re way past that.”
“Maybe she heard us crying like babies over a non-fatal injury and figured it was less of a hassle to leave us to it.” You squeeze Regulus’ thigh with a grin and he bites back a yelp.
“She would be wise to do so. Especially because there’s no bloody way I’m leaving.”
You don’t say much to that because you really, really don’t want him to either. You know you are fine, and for his sake you try and seem even more assured of it, but the white panic that soared through your veins those first few minutes is hard to shake. Even though you don’t want him to hold his absence against himself, you don’t like the thought of him leaving now that he was there.
“Has she said anything about a treatment plan? How long you’ll be here? She said you’re fine, so it shouldn’t be too long right?” Though Regulus looks at you as he asks his questions, you know he is already trying to piece together probable answers in his head.
“Most of our first conversation was her narrating what she was doing while I was moaning and not listening.” Your comment was off-handed, but Regulus seemed to wince at the image it painted in his head. “Sorry,” you mumbled bashfully, but he just gave you a smile.”
“Good thing I have the memory of an elephant, then.” Madam Pomfrey’s voice sounded just seconds before she ripped the curtain back and stepped into your little bubble.
Regulus went straight into autopilot, rightening his posture and schooling his expression. You squeezed his hand tighter, so that he couldn’t pull away, but that had not even been any option in his mind. Pomfrey went through the station beside you at the speed of light, way too familiar and comfortable with these procedures.
“Miss L/N had 5 deep lacerations and several shallow ones,” she begins to recite and Regulus hangs onto every word. “The shallow wounds are almost entirely gone from the treatment already, but the more severe ones will need time to recover. She will have to stay in the infirmary overnight today and tomorrow for observation and continue to receive some medication. Among those are pain potions and salves for the wounds. Rebandage every 10 hours and apply new salves.”
“How will that affect her?” Regulus asked, probably pushing his luck with the matron.
“The pain potions will make her a bit slow and groggy, but she will still be awake. Though she should sleep.” At that she gives you a curt look over her shoulder. “The healing process for the wounds will likely be itchy and uncomfortable and she may develop a fever. We will pay particularly close attention to the stomach wounds in case she develops any infections there.”
“What are the symptoms of infections like that?”
You try and pat Regulus’ leg to say down, boy, but he doesn’t give you the time of day, instead focusing fully on any and all information the matron is willing to share with him. You had half a mind to joke that this was private medical information, but let it be.
Madam Pomfrey turns to Regulus at his fourth question, putting her hands on her hips as she measured him closely. It seemed like she decided on something and the next second she exited through the curtains again. You and Regulus barely had time to exchange a glance before she came back and threw a white coat at Regulus who catched it bewilderedly.
“Seems like I’ve got myself an assistant for the remainder of her stay, haven’t I, Mr. Black?”
A slow smile spreads across Regulus’ face before he hurries on the coat. “Yes, Madam.”
Pomfrey talks you – and now, Regulus – through the new pain potion she is about to give you, giving brief background on the ingredients, application and effect when the door to the infirmary slams open, decidedly louder than when Regulus entered earlier. Her eyes squeeze shut, as if pained by the disrespect and incredulity of students, but finished giving you the potion.
“That is no way to enter an infirmary, Mr. Crouch,” she says through half-gritted teeth as she works. She waves at Regulus to open the curtain to your bed, revealing Barty, Evan and Dorcas, all heaving as if they have been running too. “You seem to be particularly loved, Miss L/N. Please never get injured again, it disturbs my workspace.”
Your friends’ eyes are wide as they take in your form where you lay, still rather pathetically, in your bed.
“Merlin’s tits, what happened?” Dorcas asks.
At the same time Barty’s gaze flits between you and Regulus. “Who?” he asks, while looking at you.
“I–” you start, but that was clearly the wrong answer because he then immediately turns to Regulus instead.
“Who?”
There is no hesitation in Regulus’ voice. “Snape.”
Barty’s face morphs from shock and concern into pure determination. He stalks over to you in three wide steps, pressing a quick kiss to the safe side of your forehead, whispering a quiet take care, Treasure, before turning around and dragging Evan out of the infirmary. The other boy’s jaw was ticked shut and went more than willingly.
Even you felt a bit bad for Snape in that moment.
Madam Pomfrey, however, only breathed a sigh of relief that they left so quickly.
Dorcas comes up between you and Regulus, sitting on the very edge of your bed. Pomfrey, with Regulus’ assistance return to the work on your bedside station, though his eyes are on you almost the whole time. He has that furrow between his brows that shows up whenever he focuses intently, and you are torn between wanting to kiss it and draw it.
“We met Marls and Lily in the hallway,” Dorcas explains. “They got halfway through their story before Junior took off with us on leash behind us.”
“Sounds like him,” you laugh, trying to hide how the rumble hurts you. “But really, I’m totally fine. Or, I’m relatively good, and will soon be alright.”
“Yeah, especially when you’ve got two nurses to tend to you,” Dorcas teases, casting Regulus a knowing sideways glance.
“Pardon you, Miss Meadows; I am a Healer.”
You can’t help the snort that escapes you. Despite never wanting to return to this infirmary, you had grown quite fond of the Madam.
“My deepest apologies, Madam,” Dorcas offered with a gleam in her eyes. You could have sworn you saw Pomfrey smile ever so slightly.
“But yeah, Dorc, I’m well taken care of. I’ll be fine.”
“Firstly, just because you’re wounded does not mean you can get away with calling me that.” You laugh once more, happy to not be treated like a dying animal even in such a grave hour. “Secondly, I’m glad. You deserve it, and it was about damn time.”
You pretend to not understand what the last part referred to, but you knew she got you all figured out. You squeeze her leg in a sign of admiration and, perhaps, defeat.
“Thirdly,” Regulus interjects. “You need to either not make her laugh or leave.”
Pomfrey nodded emphatically.
“Not my fault your girl just finds me absolutely hilarious, Black.” Dorcas winks at you.
“Speaking of someone’s girl,” you drawl, trying to even the playing field, which worked, if Dorcas’ light blush was anything to go off of. “Please tell Marlene I say thank you. I don’t think I got to in the whirl of everything and then everyone was thrown out.”
Dorcas’ smile softens. “I will, babe, but you don’t have to thank her. She’s still a bit worried though, so I’ll tell everyone you’re doing fine.”
“Thanks,” you whisper through a smile, accepting Dorcas’ half-hug before she slips out of the infirmary, which finally returns to its prior quietude.
“That’s enough visitors for today!” Pomfrey explains, clapping her hands together as she is done. “Only staff and patients for the rest of the night.” She shoots Regulus and his white coat a knowing glance.
“Does that mean I can sleep?” You don’t mean for your voice to sound so meek, but the pain potion is starting to work, and the more your body relaxes, the more exhausted you realise you are.
Regulus makes a soft cooing sign, coming back to sit on the side of your bed, taking your hand in his and drawing comforting circles on its back. “Yes, amour. We have prepared the station for when we have to wake you in a few hours for reapplication.”
You groan a bit at the thought of being woken, and both your matron and her assistant laugh a bit at you.
“Better that than affection, Miss L/N.”
“Yes, of course,” you relent, letting out a heavy sigh. “Thank you. For all of it.”
Pomfrey merely nods before gathering her things and exiting into the rest of the infirmary, pulling your curtain shut behind you. You expect that is the closest she usually gets to a you’re welcome and you accept it heartily.
Regulus shifts into a more comfortable position beside you, back against your headboard, ensuring you are as comfortable and pain-free as possible. He brings your intertwined fingers up to his lips to press delicate butterfly kisses to them. The softness of it all makes you almost want to cry again, but you bite it back, purely because you can’t stand seeing Regulus cry again tonight, and you knew he would.
“Congratulations on your promotion.” Your tire does not hide the coyness of your tone and he smiles fondly at you.
“Thank you. Think she figured it was easier that way – and I have always been a top student.”
“Yeah, yeah, you and your OWLs.” You turn your head more towards him, smiling. “Such a nerd.”
“I reckon you like that about me.”
“I reckon the same.”
You lean forward and he meets you halfway for a slow kiss. The casualness of it makes it feel all the more important, especially when the past few hours of your life has been anything but.
He leans his head onto yours, drawing you as close as he can with your current circumstances.
“I’m sorry,” Regulus whispers again and you shake your head beneath his. Before you can tell him no, he continues. “Not just for what happened to you or not being there. Just, I don’t know. Being slow.”
“Didn’t we just agree you were bright?” you tease, but when you turn to see the sincerity in his eyes, you soften. “It’s okay, Regulus. We were both slow.”
Neither of you feel compelled to delve into the details of it, and it makes you feel more at ease. Even with everything, this was just how it was supposed to be.
“I’m glad I have you.” It is the best way to summarise it; it was enough. He smiles warmly at you.
“And I you.”
You ignore the strain of some of your bandages as you lean closer to kiss him again, where he meets you enthusiastically – it was worth it.
“Go to sleep now, amour. I’ll be here to ease you awake when the time comes. I’ll always be here.”
And he was.

your fated one

pairing: regulus black x fem!reader
genre: fluff, mentions of pregnancy
w/c: 1.2k
summary: you never believed in fate until you met regulus black.
warnings: none
a/n: i love regulus black sm with all my heart and soulll, also i've been in a fluffy mood lately can you tell???
“Merlin.” You whispered as you held the pregnancy test in your hand, stomach churning at the two positive lines that were drawn on.
Immense happiness filled your body before the dread came…how were you going to tell him?
Regulus lay in your shared bed, his dark hair tousled against the pillow. You stumbled out of the bathroom, head spinning from the new knowledge that had been bestowed upon you. Everything seemed surreal.
The morning sickness had been relentless, the missed period a silent alarm that something was amiss. Yet, the reality of it all hit you like a ton of bricks as you stood there, clutching the bathroom door frame for support. You and Regulus hadn’t even come close to discussing the topic of children. The both of you had basically just graduated from Hogwarts and the engagement ring that sat on your finger was the symbol of a promise of a life together.
Regulus glanced up from his book, concern etched into his features as he took in your distressed state. "Are you alright, love?" His voice was laced with worry, eyebrows furrowing as he approached you. "You don't look well."
Your throat felt dry, parched even. Your fingers were trembling as you felt tears prick your eyes. Merlin, what if he didn’t want the baby? Regulus was so young and so were you, having a child was something you hadn't even begun to fathom.
“Y/n, darling?” There was a moment as his eyes caught sight of the object in your trembling hands, his expression shifted from confusion to realization. “Is that…?”
His voice trailed off, eyes widening in astonishment when you nodded in approval. A wave of happiness washed over him and he felt warmth spread throughout his chest. His joy, however, was quickly tempered by concern as tears continued to streak down your face.
“Love, what’s wrong? Isn’t this meant to be a happy occasion? You’re pregnant!” He asked softly, bringing you to sit on the edge of the bed, his arm around you. “Do you not want the baby?”
“No! Of course I want the baby!” You shouted, voice cracking. “It’s just…we’re so young Reggie and we’re getting married soon, I don’t want to walk down the aisle looking like a fucking whale.” You wailed like a banshee and your fiancé broke out in laughter.
“You are not going to look like a fucking whale darling, and we can postpone the wedding if it makes you feel any better, I’ll wait forever for you.” He cooed as he gave you a kiss. The tears didn’t stop but you felt happier. “I’ve always wanted a family and the journey we’re going to have together will be amazing. You’ve got nothing to worry about.”
“What if you love the baby more than me?”
“Not possible, I could never love anyone more than I love you.” He cupped your cheeks, adoring the way you acted like a petulant child at times.
You sniffled, hands rubbing your belly. “I can’t believe it…”
Regulus's smile widened, his eyes alight with a newfound brightness. "Believe it or not, love, but fate has a funny way of bringing us together." He teased, his playful demeanor bringing a smile to your lips.
“Fuck that shit, I don’t believe in fate.”
“Love, we’re literally a witch and a wizard.”
“Still don’t believe in it, you know me Reg.”
Regulus rolled his eyes, pushing you down onto the bed gently, peppering your face with sweet kisses. You could see the ways his eyes sparkled with something new. His smile was brighter than ever and his cheeks were rosy. You felt a new batch of tears brimming at your eyes and you soon started to cry again.
“Y/n?” He asked, wiping your tears away with his hand. “Are these tears happy or sad?”
“I just l-love you so much.” You sobbed. “I fucking love you Regulus Black.”
He bit his lip to hide the joyous laughter that was bubbling up inside of him but a chuckle escaped from his lips. You smacked his arm as a scowl took over your features.
“You prick, I’m here confessing my love to you and you’re laughing!”
Regulus bursted into laughter before summoning a mirror for you to look at your reflection. Your eyes were swollen and quite evident that you had been crying. Your hair was frazzled and all over the place.
“Even though you look like a mess, I still love you.”
"Good." You replied, a grin spreading across your face despite the lingering tears. "You're getting married to me."
//
Amidst the cheers and celebration, you and your newly-wed husband stood hand in hand, surrounded by friends and family. Little Leo, just five months old, nestled in your arms, his wide eyes already reflecting the familiar stormy grey of Regulus'.
“How’s little Leo doing?” Your husband cooed at your son and he giggled, tiny hands latching onto Regulus’ finger. “Me and Mama just got married. She’s officially Mrs Black now.”
Your heart melted at the words he said. The long dinner table was seated with chattering guests and you thought now was the perfect time to finally say the speech you had been preparing. Regulus still hadn’t a clue about what you were going to say so this was all going to be a surprise.
Passing Leo into Regulus' loving arms, you pressed a kiss to your son's forehead before rising to your feet. The room fell silent as all eyes turned to you, curiosity and anticipation flickering in their gazes, including Regulus' and Leo's.
“Hi everyone.” You gave the faces you knew for decades a wave. “I've been waiting for this moment to share something I've wanted to say for a long time.”
You saw the way your husband’s face was knitted with confusion and you couldn’t suppress the grin that took over your face.
"Regulus Black, you have always been, and always will be, the light of my life. From the moment we met at eleven to this day at twenty-one, time has flown by, but my love for you has only grown stronger. You've given me the greatest joys in life, and I will never stop cherishing you. We've faced hardships together, but with you by my side, I know we can overcome anything. I cannot wait to continue this journey with you, raising our son together."
You could see the emotion welling in Regulus' eyes as you spoke, his expression mirroring the depth of your love.
“I used to say I didn’t believe in fate, that was a lie. I believed in fate the moment I met you Reg, you made me believe in it. We are destined for each other and I hope that I spend every second of my life with you. Fate brought us together and it will keep us together. Our family of three.”
You finished your speech and you saw Regulus’ eyes fill with tears as he got up and kissed you deeply without hesitation. The room erupted in cheers and congratulations, the love and happiness palpable in the air.
“We have fate to thank for this I guess.” He smiled as he rested his forehead against yours.
Tears were now running down your face as you gave your husband another kiss. Your gaze shifted to your son, cradled in Regulus' arms, and then back to your husband, a wave of love washing over you.
“We sure do.”

By the time your last class of the day let out and you’d managed to find yourself a seat on the lawn, you were nearing your breaking point.
If it wasn’t for today being the end of the week, you thought you might explode. Just the thought of having to go through another day of class had you reeling.
Between the four essays, three projects, and seven rolls of parchment due today, you were nearly ready just to collapse and never wake up.
Even now, as your body lay against the cool grass just before the Black Lake, your body seemed to only allow itself to relax half of the way. Usually, laying your head on your school bag and feeling the breeze on your face whilst occasionally catching a glimpse of a mermaid's tail now and then, brought you down back to earth just long enough for you to deal with another week of classes.
But, this time, it seemed that it wasn't working as well as it usually did. You groaned in frustration and tossed an arm over your eyes, blocking the fading clouds from your vision.
This week had been so stressful that only last night you'd forced yourself to step away from your assignments to take a long, warm shower. Due to the sheer amount of work you had to complete all week, your showers had been quick and efficient. But, this time, you'd forced yourself to lean your head against the cold tile, bask in the hot water, gently lather up your hair….
But even that hadn't done that trick. And, now, the Black Lake ritual wasn't working either. Something had to give. The stress was over so why on earth were you still so miserable?
Maybe a bit of tea would help? You pulled your arm away from your eyes and allowed them to readjust to the light above. The clouds circled themselves, the slowest movements eating away the remaining sunlight still suspended in the air.
A sigh left you. You leaned up and began to select your things so you could head up to the castle.
“Going already?” A soft, yet strong voice interrupted your inner monologue.
You gasped and whipped around to see one of the only people you could bear to treat with right now.
“Reg,” you sighed in relief. Your eyes fluttered shut and the wind seemed to soothe a bit more. “I'm so glad you're here.”
“I'm not late, am I?” he asked. He looked down to check his watch beneath his sleeve.
“What do you mean?” He seemed confused, but not so as you.
“You told me to meet just after last period, did you not? I was going to come get you here and take you to dinner.”
His thick brows curved in on themselves as he searched your face for answers you were not privy to. Your brain rolled for an explanation as to what he was talking about, but nothing came to mind.
“Darling, are you alright?” he asked, confusion leaving his face and concern gradually flooding in. He dropped down and came to sit right next to you. His arm wrapped around your shoulder.
“Oh, I'm so sorry, Reg,” you sighed, pressing a hand to your forehead. “I've had the worst, busiest week of my life. I'm sure I did make plans with you, but I've just been so crazy lately!”
“Aw, that's no matter, my love,” he said gently, tilting your body towards his a bit. You caved and wrapped your arms around his strong body and buried your face into his familiar scent.
“I'm sorry you've had a tough week, though I wish you would have mentioned it to me earlier. I could have tried a thousand times over to make you feel better by now.” He chuckled at his own lighthearted words, working a small giggle out of you.
“Oh! What was that?” he asked suddenly, leaning his head down to be more level with your eyes.
“What do you mean?”
“Was that a giggle?” he asked. You rolled your eyes and buried your face back into his shirt to avoid smiling.
“No! It's too late. I heard a giggle!” he teased. He rubbed his nose against your jawline and tried to force your face to look back at his.
The pressure of his body tilted against yours pushed the two of you back against the grassy hill. The two of you laughed in synchrony as you embraced each other, absolutely obsessed with the way the other felt.
When the laughter gradually died off, you noticed that Regulus was also lost in the vision of the clouds just as you had been moments ago.
You propped yourself up against the curve of the hill, with one hand beneath your head. Your eyes traced his features one at a time.
“What are you thinking about?” you asked.
His eyes flicked towards yours for a moment before returning to the sky above. He seemed to ponder his answer for a moment—mouth opening to speak then hesitating for a moment before closing once more.
“I'm just thinking about you,” he answered.
“I don't think that's true,” you laughed.
“How would you know? You're not a Legilimens—at least, I don't think you are. Are you?” He feigned worry for just a moment.
You giggled and laid a playful slap on his shoulder. He rolled over to face you and mimicked your position against the ground.
His hand rose to collect a strand of your hair. Gently, he tucked it behind your ear and pressed a soft hand to the side of your cheek. His thumb traced a line across your skin.
“I was thinking about you, though. I was deciding on what to do to make you feel better.”
“You don't have to do anything, Reg,” you sighed, laying back down to watch the clouds once more. “Just being here with me helps.”
“Oh, really? So, did you still want to eat supper together?”
“Not really—if that's not too much trouble,” you said, wincing just a bit as you messed up his plans. The two of you had decided to go to dinner this evening at the beginning of the week and you knew it was rude to cancel just before, but you were truly exhausted. Just the thought of going out to eat made you want to disappear.
“Not at all,” he said, smiling. His fingers raised to caress waves through your hair, his nails soothingly scratching along your scalp. “We can just go another night.”
“There's just one problem, though,” you said.
“What is it?” he asked, his eyebrows furrowing again just as they always did.
“Even though I don't want to go out, I'm still kinda hungry.”
He smirked just a bit. “You're hungry?”
You nodded, a smile slowly appearing on your face. He pretended to be annoyed that you'd even mention that to him, sighing and groaning and everything else he wanted. You rolled your eyes at him, letting him fake his irritation and act out his part for a few more moments.
When he finally decided he was done, he sighed and collapsed against the ground. “I can't believe I have to feed my girlfriend. Nobody told me about all this stuff before I asked you out. I feel like this is more than I signed up for.”
“Whatever,” you laughed. “I can pay but I'd rather just have something delivered tonight.”
“Oh, man, well, that's just not going to work out…” he shrugged sadly, shaking his head at you.
“Oh, we can reschedule if you’d prefer to go out,” you suggested, feeling guilty for asking to cancel.
“Yeah, we’ll have to if you want to go out, but we can’t deliver tonight either.”
“Why not?” you asked, a small pout forming on your lips.
“Because I’ve already prepared an incredible meal—I’m just truly offended that you wouldn’t want to eat with me,” he sighed in mock-disappointment.
“Reg, what are you—?” you started, leaning forward into a sitting position. And, just past Regulus’ body, was a checkered picnic blanket crowded with every type of food imaginable. You suppressed a gasp as your eyes traced every option—sandwiches and fruits and desserts and drinks.
“Merlin, this is amazing!” You gaped. “When did you have time to make all this?”
“While I’d love to say that it took no time at all because I’m an incredible cook, I can’t lie to you. I can’t cook for shit and magic is a beautiful asset.” He hid a smile.
It wasn’t long before the two of you burst into laughter, falling back into each other's arms and trying to compose yourselves long enough to decide on what delicacy to grab first.
And, by the time you'd each made your selections and settled in with comfortable conversation and occasionally exchanged kisses, the sun had made its way down behind the horizon and taken all of your troubles with it.

“I just don’t get it. You two are close, sure, but how can someone like you stand someone so… frostbitten?”
Regulus Black had never been fond of listening in.
Not because he held some high regard for personal boundaries—though he might feign such principles if questioned—but because idle whispers had always struck him as painfully dull. His ears had never itched for gossip, nor had curiosity ever coaxed him into shadowed corners. If people had something to say, they’d say it. And if they didn’t, he preferred the quiet.
In truth, silence had always been kinder to him than most people ever were.
It was a habit he’d mastered long before Hogwarts—back when the walls of Grimmauld Place echoed with slurred legacies and scornful lectures. In those days, slipping away unnoticed had been a form of survival. At school, it was simply routine.
But tonight… something felt different.
Maybe it was the fact that his name had slipped past someone else’s lips.
Maybe it was the company—James Potter, Marlene McKinnon, and you—tucked just around the corridor outside the Gryffindor common room.
Or maybe it was something subtler, something aching and ancient, when Marlene’s voice laced his name with ice.
He hadn’t meant to linger. He’d only returned to fetch the worn book he’d abandoned on the windowsill that morning. He hadn’t expected anyone to be there—let alone you, laughter softening your voice like candlelight.
He could’ve kept walking. He should have.
But then—
“I think there’s kindness in him,” James said, uncertain. His voice faltered like a lantern in fog.
“I mean… we’ve barely spoken, really.” He rubbed the back of his neck—nervous, boyish. Always more heart than caution.
“Maybe he’s just not great with people?”
(Y/n) hummed softly, nodding in agreement, though her gaze had grown distant, pulled by the threads of memory. She understood him far better than the others did—better, perhaps, than anyone else dared to try. That’s why Marlene and Dorcas had turned to her, curious about the boy who walked the castle halls like a ghost no one could quite touch.
She’d known Regulus Black long before they shared the same classes at Hogwarts. Growing up among pureblood circles had made their paths cross more than once, though back then, he’d barely acknowledged her presence. It wasn’t until their fifth year that a quiet camaraderie started to bloom—quiet, not because it was secret, but because it had no need for loud declarations. A glance. A shared silence. A wordless understanding. All of it wove together like a private constellation only they could see.
She smiled faintly at the memory, a soft huff of laughter escaping her. It was absurd, really, to think she’d somehow become the unofficial Regulus Black Expert of Gryffindor Tower. The idea would’ve made her younger self laugh out loud.
Because back then—when she’d first been introduced to him by a smug Sirius Black with a wicked grin and a mischievous, “Reggie, this one won’t bite unless you ask”—she never would’ve imagined this strange little bond forming.
“Regulus has always been… closed off,” she murmured at last, agreeing with Marlene’s earlier observation, though her tone had drifted somewhere far away. Her words were less a reply and more a wandering thought, drifting like parchment on wind.
It hadn’t been easy, not at first. Regulus had no interest in friendship—especially not the kind that came packaged with Sirius’s teasing introductions. He’d been all cold stares and clipped replies, a boy carved from silence and family pressure. And she? She’d simply been the unfortunate soul swept into the current of Black family drama, doomed to be one more casualty in Go-to-hell, Sirius’s grand matchmaking schemes.
Time after time she found herself at 12 Grimmauld Place under the excuse of “study sessions” or “family dinners” orchestrated by Sirius’s sheer willpower. And time after time, Regulus kept his distance, each glance sharpened like a dagger, each word a carefully measured offering. He didn’t need friends. He didn’t want them. And she? She was just a name on a list he hadn’t asked for.
And truthfully, (Y/n) never quite knew when it shifted—or why. When, between wary glances and measured silences, something real began to stir between them. She chewed gently at her bottom lip as the thought unfurled, trying to follow the winding trail back to the precise moment when their distant acquaintance melted into something gentler, more sincere. Something she could, without hesitation, call a friendship now.
“Do you think he ever lets anyone in?” Marlene asked, a touch of disbelief in her voice—not meant to wound, only to confess her own discomfort. She never knew how to fill the silences Regulus left behind, not the way Dorcas or (Y/n) somehow managed to. “It just doesn’t add up to me.”
Unseen just around the corner, Regulus leaned his weight against the stone wall, the cold of it pressing into his back as he stood completely still. This was the part where he should have left. Disengaged. Forgotten he’d heard anything at all. He should have reminded himself that he didn’t care what people thought—because he didn’t. Or at least, he hadn’t.
But something invisible tethered him to that moment. Curiosity, perhaps. Or the soft echo of his own name on (Y/n)’s lips.
“I get that you’re close,” Marlene went on, “but how does someone like you end up friends with someone so…”
He didn’t want to hear the rest of the sentence. And yet, he couldn’t stop listening.
Her voice faltered for a second, and Regulus felt it like a fist around his ribs. He could guess what came next.
“So… cold?”
The word landed like frost beneath his skin.
Cold?
His mind latched onto it, dissecting it like a puzzle he didn’t ask to solve. Is that truly how they saw him? Was that what he looked like through other people’s eyes? He supposed he wasn’t the easiest person to read. He wasn’t known for kindness or warmth—but cold? The word clung to the back of his throat, sharp and stinging.
He should’ve walked away. Brushed it off like he had with everything else. He’d built his world out of walls for a reason. He didn’t let himself care. He never had.
So why, then, did his chest feel like it had been split open?
He was turning to leave, to forget the book he came for and the crack this moment left behind—
Until he heard (Y/n)’s voice.
“Cold?” she echoed, and Regulus froze mid-step. There was something in her voice—an edge he couldn’t quite name. Anger? Disbelief? Something that made his heart stutter painfully in his chest.
He found himself leaning into the shadows again, listening, caught in her words like a boy drowning in a storm.
“Regulus Black is anything but cold,” she said, her voice like silk woven through fire. A laugh escaped her next, quiet and bitter. “He’s the warmest person I’ve ever known.”
His breath caught. He almost laughed—almost—but stopped himself. He was supposed to be hidden, after all.
Still, that one sentence echoed louder than the rest.
“Truly?” Marlene blinked at her, surprise tugging at her brows like she hadn’t expected the warmth in (Y/n)’s voice.
(Y/n) nodded with the kind of certainty that didn’t waver.
“Absolutely,” she said, her voice soft but steady, like morning light through a window. “There’s no one quite like him. He’s… kind. Deeply so. He just doesn’t wear it on his sleeve like most do. You have to look closer to see it.”
Around the corner, hidden behind the curve of ancient stone, Regulus stood still as the marble beneath his feet. Her voice was like a tether, pulling him back every time he considered walking away.
“Regulus doesn’t move like everyone else,” she continued gently, a smile curling at the corners of her lips. “He’s quiet, sure. Always has been. But cold?” She let out the softest laugh, the kind that sounded like wind through lavender fields. “No… not cold. Never that. He’s warm in ways most people don’t know how to be.”
Warm? Regulus nearly scoffed, but the heat that rushed to his face betrayed him. If only she knew the darkness he buried his heart beneath. If only she saw the shadows he called home. And still—still—her voice made him believe, just for a second, that maybe she did see. And maybe… she didn’t mind.
“He wouldn’t believe me if I told him,” (Y/n) said with a small laugh, like she could hear his thoughts. “But it’s true. He cares in ways that matter—in quiet gestures and steady presence, in showing up without ever announcing that he’s there.”
“Ohhh…” Dorcas and Marlene echoed, their tones laced with newfound understanding.
(Y/n) giggled then, all bright and unbothered, and it struck Regulus like starlight—sudden and impossible to ignore.
“He grows on you,” she promised, her voice turning soft again. “Little by little. And when he does… you realise just how lucky you are to be close to someone like him.”
Regulus ducked his head, hiding the sudden flush crawling up his neck, thankful there were no mirrors nearby to betray him. He’d never been lucky a day in his life—but if she thought being near him was some kind of gift, then maybe, just maybe…
“Merlin’s beard, (Y/n), that was kind of adorable,” Dorcas teased. “How long have you known him, then? You two sound like old souls.”
“A while,” (Y/n) said, tilting her head as she thought it over. “Slughorn once invited us to the same dinner—years ago. Said we were both too serious for our own good. I don’t think either of us said more than three words that night,” she laughed softly. “But… over time, I think we just started understanding each other. Quietly. Comfortably. And now… he’s someone I look up to. A lot.”
A good person? Regulus nearly rolled his eyes. She always saw the best in him—even the parts he tried hardest to bury.
“He’s always helping me,” she added, a smile blooming on her lips. “Especially when I’m struggling with Dueling, or studying late into the night. He says he does it because I ask too many questions—but I know he stays because he wants me to do well.”
Well. He couldn’t exactly argue with that one.
“And he’s a bit of a secret gentleman,” you said, your voice dipping low, like a delicate confession passed between old stone walls. A soft smile ghosted your lips. “Even when we weren’t close, he’d carry my books without asking, hold open the doors with barely a glance, pull out my chair in the Great Hall like it was second nature…”
Your words trailed off as the memories rose like stardust behind your eyes—small, quiet gestures that had once seemed incidental, but now shimmered with meaning.
Just around the corner, half-shrouded by flickering torchlight, Regulus leaned back against the cold stone, eyes half-lidded, breath caught. He’d forgotten about some of those moments—at least on the surface—but hearing them from your lips made them pulse to life again. You noticed. Merlin, you noticed.
He’d never thought of himself as kind. His mother had taught him manners, not softness. His brother had taught him rebellion, not care. But you… You brought something different out of him. With you, gentleness had become instinct. And now, hearing you speak of it with such warmth, he found himself wondering if you saw something in him he hadn’t dared to believe existed.
Your smile deepened. “There was one time, years ago…” You laughed under your breath, as if it were still a secret. “We’d snuck into the kitchens when the elves weren’t looking—he nabbed a chocolate biscuit from the tin. Broke it in half.” You looked toward Marlene and Dorcas, your voice softening like candlelight. “And he gave me the bigger piece.”
The girls exchanged a glance, both catching the distant look in your eyes—the way your gaze flickered not to the past, but to a version of it you carried close, cherished. You hadn’t even been friends yet. Just two children on opposite sides of a too-large world, momentarily brought together in the dim glow of the kitchen hearth. You’d spent the rest of that evening curled beside Tilly Toke’s Magical Mishaps, Regulus sat across the table, not saying much. But the half-cookie had meant something, hadn’t it?
The memory wrapped around you like a charm.
And somewhere behind the wall, Regulus closed his eyes for a moment, pressing his thumb into his palm—grounding himself. Because yes. He remembered it exactly that way.
“Aww!” Marlene let out a dramatic gasp, pressing her hands to her heart as if the memory had physically struck her. “He must’ve had a tiny little crush on you, darling,” she teased, her voice lilting like a melody as she batted her lashes.
(Y/n) laughed under her breath, but Regulus, hidden just around the stone corner of the corridor, felt like his heart had been flung into a freezing lake.
A crush?
Was that how he came across?
His pulse thundered in his ears as panic curled tight in his chest. Surely not. All the little things he’d done—carrying her books when she complained about the weight, offering her his scarf on cold mornings, brewing tea when she stayed up too late studying—all of that was just… friendship. Wasn’t it? Politeness. Chivalry, even. Raised by Walburga or not, he did have some decency.
He tried to believe that.
But the longer he stood there, the more tangled his thoughts became.
None of it was just about kindness. Not really.
She was the only one who made the castle feel less like a cage and more like a dream. The way she laughed when he muttered sarcastic remarks under his breath. The way she hummed when concentrating. The warmth she gave off without even trying. She was sunlight—unapologetic and golden. And him? He was the boy who lived in the shadows of dark family tapestries and colder expectations.
He didn’t mean to care for her the way he did.
But he thought of her constantly. In between potions ingredients, in the flutter of owl wings across the morning sky, in every flower she ever paused to admire. Even the Black family crest seemed to dim in her presence. His own reflection was easier to face when he imagined her smiling at him.
Gods, he was utterly doomed.
fuck.
Regulus pressed the heel of his hand to his temple, trying to steady himself—anchor his mind back to the cold stone floor beneath his shoes and not the warmth blooming beneath his ribs. None of that meant anything, did it? All those quiet favors, the lingering glances, the moments where his hand brushed hers without needing to—none of it had to suggest something deeper.
He could care for her platonically. Couldn’t he?
He nearly scoffed at himself.
How utterly cliché. The proud, brooding boy spiraling the second he felt something tender for the girl who glowed like she’d been carved from starlight. Maybe he was just being ridiculous. Maybe they really were just friends. Friends could look after each other. Friends could think the other was breathtaking and luminous and—
Merlin help him.
Because if she were to lean in one day, maybe on the edge of a courtyard or under a soft-spoken sky, and confess she wanted something more—he wouldn’t push her away, would he?
His chest tightened. No. He wouldn’t. And that answer, so simple, nearly unravelled him. His thoughts tangled like spellwork gone wrong, and for a moment he swore the castle spun slightly beneath his feet.
“I don’t know about that…” your voice broke through the air, softer than parchment under fingertips.
And Regulus felt it—something unfamiliar and ferocious rising in his chest. Like swallowing honey and fire at the same time. It bubbled with sweetness, with something terrifyingly hopeful. His fingertips tingled, his lips twitched with the start of a smile he didn’t know he could make. He wasn’t sure whether to dread it or chase it.
“Well, you should ask him out!” Marlene said cheerfully, breaking the moment like glass on stone.
“Wh-what?” you stammered, blinking rapidly.
“I’m serious!” she grinned, nudging Dorcas playfully. “He’d say yes. You’re definitely his favorite, and have you seen the way he stares at you?”
I do? Regulus froze where he stood, blood rushing in his ears.
“He does?” your voice slipped out, barely more than a breath, tinged with disbelief and the faintest hope.
Regulus could feel it now—magic surging beneath his skin like it wanted to rise just for you.
Was she surprised? Mortified? Regulus couldn’t tell. From his shadowed post behind the half-open door, he was practically vibrating with the urge to peek out, to catch even a flicker of her expression. If he could just see her face, he’d know exactly how she was processing all of this—whether she was laughing him off or secretly hoping it might be true.
“Oh yeah, I’ve seen him looking at you loads of times,” James said casually, like he was stating the weather.
“Same,” chimed in Marlene, lounging across the common room couch. “Honestly, I thought you two were already together when I first transferred.”
He did?
“You did?” your voice fluttered out, laced with disbelief—and something else Regulus couldn’t name, something soft and glowing.
“Yeah,” James shrugged like it was obvious. “He always sits close to you. And when he speaks—which isn’t often—it’s usually just to you. I thought it was some kind of intense, brooding flirting.”
No, you imbecile, I just don’t want anyone overhearing—
Regulus dragged a palm down his face, lips twitching with frustration. This was disastrous. He rolled his eyes and tugged slightly at the skin under them, as if it might yank him back into reality. But no—there it was, pulsing like an inconvenient truth just behind his ribs.
Of course he fancied her. Merlin, how hadn’t he seen it?
Or maybe… maybe it had always been there. Dormant. Waiting. Quietly thriving in shared glances, in the way she beamed when he walked into the room, in how his mornings never felt quite right until he heard her laugh.
That laugh drifted out now, pulling him violently from his spiraling thoughts. Light and bright, it danced in the air like the flicker of fairy lights during winter.
“No, no—you’ve got it all wrong,” you said, laughing again as you tried to dismiss the idea, but there was something dangerous in your tone. Something syrupy sweet and hesitant, like you weren’t entirely sure if you wanted it to be wrong. “We’ve known each other forever. If something was going to happen, it probably would’ve by now.”
The pause that followed was heavy. Not uncomfortable—but thick. Charged. Like the castle itself was holding its breath.
Regulus swallowed hard. His heartbeat roared in his ears like crashing waves, deafening and all-consuming. He knew he should walk away, that eavesdropping this long was borderline shameful.
But he couldn’t.
“You say that like you want something to happen,” Marlene teased, her voice laced with playful suspicion. “Are you the one with the crush?”
Regulus felt the breath knock out of him. Every passing second that she didn’t answer made his head spin, made the walls feel closer. If he didn’t move soon, he was going to collapse right here in this hidden corridor, fully exposed in the most humiliating way possible.
“I…” your voice broke through the silence, soft and unsteady.
Regulus clenched his jaw, fighting every instinct not to lean just a little farther around the corner. If he could just see you—if he could catch the twitch of your fingers or the tilt of your lips—he might finally have his answer.
If you were fidgeting, surely it meant you did like him.
If you stood still, frozen in disbelief, then the idea of the two of you must’ve been laughable to you. An impossibility.
“I haven’t thought about it,” you murmured at last, so quietly he barely caught it.
There was a shuffle of feet. Marlene let out a thoughtful hmm, unreadable in tone, and James called out his goodbyes as he bounded off toward the courtyard to meet Sirius and Peter. Marlene followed not long after, muttering something about borrowing Lily’s notes or charming Professor Slughorn into letting her redo a potion.
You gave a breathy laugh and waved them off with a smile in your voice. And then, once their footsteps faded into silence, you exhaled.
It trembled at the edges.
“Merlin,” you whispered to yourself, pressing a hand to your chest as you dropped onto the worn couch in front of the common room fire. “That was way too close.”
Regulus, hidden in the shadows just beyond the entrance, let his back fall against the cold stone wall.
He’d never known it was possible to be both relieved and utterly destroyed in the same moment.
Her heart was still rattling in her chest, refusing to slow after the teasing from James and Marlene. She needed to get away—away from their knowing eyes, their smug grins, their pointed little looks that made her feel like her thoughts were written across her forehead. She was certain they knew. Certain they’d seen through every flimsy deflection and quiet denial she’d offered.
Just as she was about to flop onto the couch and sink into a well-earned nap by the fire, something caught her eye: a thick hardcover left resting on the arm of the chair beside her. A neat, velvet-green ribbon was caught between the pages, and all the sections before it were practically bursting with parchment scraps and scribbled notes.
She recognized it instantly. If she didn’t already know Regulus had been buried in that book all week, the sheer intensity of the annotations would’ve given it away. No one else read like that. Not in her year, at least.
A smile tugged at her lips as she picked it up. He must’ve left it behind in a hurry. Knowing him, he’d want it back the moment he realized it was gone. She figured he had the afternoon free, so it wouldn’t take long to find him. Besides, her nap could wait.
Cracking it open to the first page marked by a slim pink tab, she let her eyes flit across the topmost note stuck inside—only to immediately become absorbed, not in the book itself, but in the way his handwriting crawled into the margins like vines. She didn’t even notice him until she was practically on top of him.
“Oh—sorry!” she gasped, stepping back from the broad figure she’d nearly barreled into. When her gaze lifted and locked onto familiar grey eyes, her surprise dissolved into a gentle smile. “Reg! I was just coming to find you,” she added, brightening with a soft laugh. She held up the book like a prize. “This is yours, right?”
He nodded, slowly, almost as if startled into silence. His hand brushed against hers as he took the book, and for a second he couldn’t seem to find his voice.
“…Thanks soleil,” he managed finally, quieter than he intended.
“No problem,” she replied easily. “It was in my nap spot,” she added with a sheepish little shrug.
That made Regulus laugh, low and amused. The sound startled even him, but the grin it brought to his face was unstoppable. She tilted her head slightly at the sudden warmth in his expression, her fingers twisting together, the flutter in her chest growing louder by the second.
“Hey, I was wondering…” she began, brows knitting slightly as her courage wrestled with uncertainty.
Regulus, ever so composed, tucked the book under his arm and gave her his full attention.
“Yes amour?” he asked, voice soft and clear, like he was ready to listen to anything—anything at all—from her.
He watched her fingers begin to fidget again—an old habit of hers—and his heart thudded heavily in his chest. That small, familiar gesture pulled at something deep inside him, something tender and terrifying all at once. She was fidgeting. She was nervous.
“Uh, ah—it’s silly—” she began, voice hitching as she almost backed out of it. But Regulus shook his head quickly, the usual cool in his features melting into a rare softness. He didn’t want her to stop. Not now. Not when it felt like her words might change something between them.
“I’m sure it’s not,” he said, more firmly than he expected. She glanced up at him in surprise, caught off guard by the seriousness in his voice. “What is it?” he asked again, quieter this time. Earnest.
She blushed.
Actually blushed.
And Regulus felt something in him collapse at the sight. How had he not realized sooner? The way he cared about her—it was more than careful friendship. More than routine familiarity. It was this. That look. That moment. This feeling swelling in his chest like an uncontrollable storm.
“D’you remember when we were little, and your mum always made us have those awkward little tea visits?” she asked, laughing under her breath. The sound was light but edged with nerves. “She’d dress you up like a little heir to the empire.”
Regulus chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the memory. “How could I forget soleil? You were the only thing making them bearable.”
She opened her mouth as if to explain herself further, then stopped short. Her gaze dropped to her hands again, which were still twisting in her lap, and her smile grew quiet.
“I dunno, I guess I…” she stumbled, her words catching on emotion she hadn’t quite figured out yet. Merlin, she hated how her voice trembled. How silly it made her feel. “Do you remember when we became friends?”
She rushed the question out, afraid of losing the courage altogether.
Regulus nodded, his expression unreadable—but not cold. There was something still behind his eyes. Watching her closely. Listening like he always did, but with his heart too, now.
“I do,” he said gently. “You spilled ink on my essay, and I didn’t hex you for it.”
She laughed at that, eyes glinting. “That was the moment, huh?”
“I think it always had been,” he replied, voice almost too quiet to catch.
“I do,” he replied without hesitation.
“Like, actual friends,” you clarified, raising a brow, not convinced he’d thought that through. “Not just two kids being dropped off at some posh tea party and expected to get along. I mean—real friends.”
Regulus nodded again, a little smile tugging at his lips.
“I do,” he repeated, softer this time, a hint of amusement in his tone. “You don’t?”
You pressed your lips together thoughtfully, chewing at the corner of one as you shook your head slowly. Your brow furrowed as you tried to remember, and Regulus gave a low chuckle at the sight, eyes glinting with fondness.
“Well?” you asked, voice tinged with impatience. “What changed?”
“I can’t believe you don’t remember,” he said with mock hurt, tilting his head and placing a dramatic hand on his chest. “That wounds me amour, you know.”
“I didn’t think you had feelings, Black,” you shot back playfully, a teasing lilt to your voice. “But come on, tell me.”
You looked at him expectantly, eyes wide and gleaming with curiosity. Regulus found himself caught in your gaze, helpless to look away. You always did that—held his attention like no one else ever had. But this time, there was something different. Something unspoken between the words, resting in the stillness of the air between you.
He swallowed thickly. If you asked anything of him like this, he would give it without pause. It hit him like a charm straight to the chest. That soft glint in your eyes—he wondered if he’d always missed it, or if it had only just begun to appear.
“It was right before we came to Hogwarts,” he said finally, voice quieter now, like he was unearthing something sacred. “The weekend before the train. Do you remember?”
You nodded, the memory vague but there. You’d spent a late summer afternoon at Grimmauld Place while your parents caught up with his. You vaguely recalled teasing him for organizing his trunk with meticulous precision and muttering something about the Weird Sisters under his breath.
“I remember you sorting your books by spine colour like some cursed Ravenclaw,” you teased, grinning.
Regulus huffed a laugh. “You were sitting on the floor in my room,” he continued, tone suddenly gentler. “You brought every sweet from Honeydukes you could carry and made me try all the ones I said I hated.”
Your grin softened into a warm smile.
“And then you told me,” he said, eyes flicking to yours, “that if Hogwarts was awful, and I hated every second of it, at least I’d have someone to sit with on the train ride back.”
The memory bloomed in your chest like an old Polaroid, blurry around the edges but warm all the same.
“You meant it,” he added. “And I think… that’s when I knew.”
“When we became friends?” you asked.
He looked at you for a long moment, then gave a slight nod, lips curling into a smile that didn’t reach his eyes—not out of sadness, but because there was more to it than he could say.
“Yeah,” he murmured. “That’s when everything changed.”
“Professor McGonagall let us move in a night early,” Regulus recalled, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Probably so the castle staff could have one last evening of peace before the school year started.”
You laughed under your breath at the realization, nodding. “At the time it felt like freedom. Our own space for the first time.”
“Exactly,” he agreed, eyes soft with the memory. “Feels strange thinking back now. It was just you and me in this massive castle… for a while at least.”
“I almost forgot that,” you admitted, the corners of your mouth curling up as you thought of it. The quiet corridors. The chill of stone floors under your socks. The thrill of choosing your own bedtime, your own space. “It feels like it’s always been this way.”
“But you don’t remember the first night?” he asked, tilting his head.
You squinted, trying to trace the memory like it was hidden in fog. There were flashes—wandering the halls, fiddling with enchanted portraits, a failed attempt at brewing hot cocoa with a half-working kettle you’d found in one of the old kitchens…
“You woke me up,” Regulus said, chuckling softly.
Your eyes lit up in recognition. “Oh—Merlin. Right. I couldn’t sleep and—”
“You were bored,” he supplied, shaking his head fondly. “You dragged me out of bed and made me sit with you in the common room. And then you made me watch that ridiculous enchanted Muggle film projection your dad enchanted for you.”
You snorted. “The Princess Bride is a classic, I don’t care what you say Reggie.”
“It’s too long,” he shot back without missing a beat. “And you didn’t even stay awake. I sat there like an idiot while you snored on my shoulder.”
You covered your face with your hands, laughing with secondhand embarrassment. “Okay, okay—”
“You talked through half of it,” he went on, grinning. “You said you were scared.”
The laughter softened on your lips, surprise flickering in your gaze.
“I did?” you asked, quieter now.
Regulus nodded, watching you intently.
“You said you didn’t know what Hogwarts would be like,” he continued, voice gentler. “You were afraid you’d mess everything up. But then you said as long as I was around, maybe it’d be alright.”
Your breath caught in your throat. The memory settled over you like a forgotten charm being reawakened.
“And it was,” he added softly. “Alright, I mean.”
Your eyes met his again, and there was something about the way he looked at you then—like you were the only thing anchoring him to this moment. Like he’d never forgotten that night for a reason.
“You said you were scared of failing,” Regulus’ voice dipped low again, quieter than before—almost reverent. “That… you were afraid of never becoming powerful enough to protect the people you cared about.”
Despite the memory being so old, embarrassment flickered through you now like a lit match to dry parchment. You couldn’t believe this was the moment he’d held onto all this time. Of all things, this one?
“I almost wish I hadn’t asked,” you muttered, cheeks burning, “I can’t believe I said that to you.”
But Regulus didn’t tease. In fact, his smile turned almost fond.
“Then you told me you thought I was strong,” he continued, and for the first time, there was the faintest trace of pink brushing the tops of his cheeks. “You asked if I’d help you… get strong too. Like me.”
Your eyes widened slightly. The image of little you, curled in a blanket in the Slytherin common room, whispering fears into the dim glow of floating candles, was something hazy and far away. But Regulus? He remembered it like it had just happened.
“And then,” he added with a snort, “you passed out mid-sentence, head on my shoulder. I was stuck watching the rest of that bloody Muggle film just so you wouldn’t wake up and yell at me for skipping to the end.”
“You watched the rest of the movie?” you asked, your voice soft with wonder.
He laughed. “Every last minute.”
You blinked, stunned. “I can’t believe I don’t remember any of that.”
“You were exhausted,” Regulus shrugged like it didn’t matter, even though it clearly had. “And it was a long time ago. I never expected you to remember it… I just never forgot.”
You chewed on your lip, falling quiet as warmth coiled in your chest. That kind of memory… someone keeping it for you when you hadn’t even known to treasure it—it meant more than you could say.
But then he stepped forward.
Just a single pace, barely anything. And yet your whole body felt it—the sudden closeness, the silence that wrapped around you both like a breath held too long.
“And by the way…” he murmured, pulling your gaze up to his with ease. “I do kind of stare at you. A lot.”
Your face went red so fast you thought your ears might start steaming.
“You—you heard that?” you squeaked, mortified.
“And then some,” Regulus replied smoothly, and despite the flush still tinting his cheekbones, he was smiling. Really smiling. No smirk. No mask. Just him.
For once, he didn’t feel like hiding.
“Did you mean all of that belle fille?” he asked.
And this time, the air between you was electric.
Her mouth opened once. Closed. Opened again.
The conversation from earlier came crashing down on her all at once, each word echoing in her head with horrifying clarity. He’d heard it. All of it. Her rambling. Her clumsy affection disguised as hypothetical questions. And—Merlin—had he heard that last part?
“I mean, y—yeah. Yeah,” she stammered, nodding just a little too fast. “Of course I did.”
But her voice had gone breathless, barely even sound.
Regulus tilted his head slightly, gaze fixed so firmly on her she thought he might see through her completely.
“Even that last part?” he asked, stepping forward again. The hem of his robes brushed hers now, but she didn’t move back. She couldn’t.
“Last part?” she echoed stupidly, throat dry.
“Yeah,” he nodded, and this time his hand lifted—not hesitantly, but reverently—as though she might vanish if he rushed the moment. His thumb ghosted beneath her jaw, the faintest brush of contact that left her aching for more.
“You know,” he murmured, voice deep and velvet-smooth, “that bit where you said you hadn’t really thought about me like that.”
She remembered. Of course she did. It was the one part of the conversation that had clanged in her mind like a bell since it left her lips.
“You meant that too?”
She swallowed hard. His fingers were still at her chin, gently anchoring her in place, and the look in his eyes—
She couldn’t look away if she tried.
“No,” she breathed, and it was so soft it nearly disappeared into the silence between them. But Regulus heard it. He saw it form on her lips, caught the tremble behind it.
“No, I didn’t mean that.”
A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth—small, private, and impossibly warm. She watched it unfold, saw the way his eyes softened as he noticed her hands fidgeting again.
He knew.
She felt it too.
“And what did you mean to say?” he asked, and there was a raw sort of need in the question, like it had lived in him for ages, waiting to be unburdened.
Like if she said the words now, it might change everything.
Her gaze lingered on his lips.
She hadn’t meant to stare, but he was close now—closer than she ever imagined he’d dare to be. And yet he was still waiting. Still asking for the truth with a calm so controlled it nearly masked the ache in his eyes.
He wanted to hear it. And she wanted to say it. But wanting and doing were not the same.
“I meant…” she began, eyes flicking up to meet his when she realized how long she’d been caught staring. “I meant I have thought about… something more…”
The words came out in pieces, light and thin like cobwebs, hardly brave or poetic. Nothing like the declarations she’d imagined in her head a hundred times. But it was real. And hers. And when she cleared her throat and added, “But they didn’t need to know that,” with a sheepish little laugh, something cracked wide open in his chest.
“No, I suppose not,” Regulus murmured, and the faintest smile tugged at his lips—one of those rare, real ones that reached his eyes and made them glow softer than moonlight.
She didn’t feel so nervous anymore. Not around him.
“So…” she tilted her head, teasing gently. “Spying on your friends these days, is that your new hobby Black?” Her voice was quiet, but there was laughter behind it, light and fluttering. “Bit off-brand for you, Regulus.”
He chuckled lowly, and her heart stumbled at the sound—low, smooth, and entirely unguarded.
“When else was I going to hear you say all those nice things about me?” he replied, his voice rich with warmth and something sweeter. His thumb still rested beneath her chin, brushing idly along her skin like he hadn’t even realized he was doing it.
Regulus Black had never been the touchy type. He was all self-restraint and deliberate space. But now? His touch was gentle, steady, and intentional. Like he had finally decided not to pull away anymore.
“I quite liked the part where you said I was a gentleman,” he added, the corners of his mouth quirking with quiet amusement.
She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from grinning too wildly.
And then he leaned in. Not rushed, not hesitant—just certain. Her eyes widened, nearly burning from how long she kept them fixed on his. Everything about him in this moment—his steady breath, the warmth of his hand, the tender curve of his mouth—made the world shrink until it was just him and her in this quiet corridor that smelled faintly of old parchment and lavender.
“But for the record,” he whispered, and she swore she could feel every word land against her lips, “I’m lucky to have you, too.”
Her chest swelled, and her smile came freely now, radiant and soft as her fingers curled slightly in the fabric of his sleeve.
Yes. Just as she thought.
He was the warmest person she knew.
Regulus Black was the warmest person in this wide universe.
“And,” he continued, his voice a shade softer, more reverent now, “you are my favorite.”
She let out a breath of laughter, quiet and a little stunned, before she rolled her eyes at him—though there was no real exasperation behind it. Only a fondness so deep it practically glowed from her.
“I know,” she murmured, narrowing her eyes with playful suspicion. The smile she wore, though—that was sincere. Sweet and sincere and so unguarded it made Regulus feel like she’d just handed him her entire heart without even realizing it. “Must be a side effect of your staring problem.”
He tilted his head slightly, guiding her chin up with the faintest tug of his thumb. His nose brushed hers. She could feel the warmth of his breath as it mingled with hers, and just as she leaned into it—just as the world started to tilt—he paused. Of course he did. Always the gentleman, no matter how undone he felt inside.
“May I?” he murmured. His lashes dipped as his gaze flicked between her eyes and her lips, every syllable spoken like a secret. “Kiss you amour?”
She almost laughed from how impossibly soft he could be. She wanted to throw caution to the wind, wrap her fingers in the collar of his uniform and pull him in like they were in the climax of a dramatic novel. But her voice was trapped in her throat, and her limbs wouldn’t obey her.
So she closed her eyes.
And nodded.
Just barely.
It was enough.
His lips found hers with a grace that felt practiced, like he’d been dreaming of this for far too long. And he kissed her like he was afraid she might slip through his fingers. Gentle, tentative—almost reverent.
Her body softened completely. Every piece of tension unraveled in his arms. Her hands, which had been stiff by her sides, slowly lifted and curled gently over his shoulders. His lips deepened against hers in return, not forcefully, just sure, like he’d found something precious and had finally been allowed to hold it.
His free hand—no longer gripping the book he always carried like armor—settled against her cheek, fingers trembling ever so slightly before the tip of his index ghosted along the shell of her ear, down the line of her jaw, and back up again. Slow, slow, slow. Like he wanted to memorize her.
She felt like she might float away. Her heart swelled so high in her chest she was almost afraid of what would happen if they stopped.
And when they did part, it wasn’t with loss—but with a quiet sort of awe.
Her lips still tingled, her fingers still trembled slightly on his shoulders, and yet all she could do was smile. A real one. Warm and quiet and deeply content. And Regulus? He wore the same smile, mirrored and soft, as if kissing her had rewired something inside him.
She didn’t even open her eyes for a moment, basking in it. And that made him chuckle.
“Next time,” she murmured, dazed and dreamy, “I’ll let them know you’re a good kisser, too.”
He smiled—genuinely, boyishly, almost bashfully—and leaned in to press a featherlight kiss to the corner of her mouth.
“Don’t,” he whispered. “I like that being just yours.”
“Will you?” he murmured with a tease laced beneath the softness of his voice.
She nodded, leaning her cheek into his hand like it was the most natural thing in the world. The warmth of his palm made her glow, even as a blush crept up her cheeks and her nose crinkled with hesitation.
“Well, maybe not right away,” she mumbled, her tone sheepish now.
Regulus laughed—actually laughed—and it was the kind that made her feel like she’d just discovered a hidden treasure. His smile was wide, unguarded, and it lit up every inch of his face. The pink hue blooming across his cheeks was proof enough that whatever mask he usually wore had fallen completely away for her.
“Maybe not right away,” he echoed, voice dipping low again, softer now, more tender. His thumb stroked along the curve of her cheekbone, so carefully, like she was something fragile and precious that only he got to hold.
The sound of his voice—husky and warm against her lips—was enough to pull her under. Her eyes fluttered closed instinctively. And when his lips brushed over hers once again, it was with all the careful affection of a boy who’d never believed himself worthy of softness—until now.
She kissed him back just as sweetly. Her fingers traced along the sharp edge of his jaw, hesitating for only a second before settling there. She wanted to pull him closer, wanted to let passion take over, but she didn’t. Not yet. There’d be time for that. She could feel it.
He’d make time for her.
And for the first time in a very long while, Regulus believed in what she saw in him. He believed he could be kind. Gentle. Even loved. But only because she had seen it first—had named it, had handed it to him freely, without condition.
He thought he should tell her, one day. That everything good he was becoming had started with her. But that could wait.
They had time now.
Time enough for him to return the favor. Time enough to tell her again and again just how extraordinary she was, until his lungs gave out and her cheeks stayed permanently pink.
Because that was the kind of future he wanted.
One where he never stopped reminding her that she was his favorite, too.
The words leave his lips in a breath, a quiet confession. “Tu es le soleil qui me réchauffe.”
You are the sun that warms me up.

Hiya Mae!! How are you?? It’s been a little bit but I was hoping I could request a poly!marauders fic (+plus Lily if you’re comfortable with doing that if not it’s fine). This week is the 6th anniversary of my brothers passing and this year is a bit harder as I’m turning 18. Having such a milestone coming up and him not being here is sorta making me sick. I was wondering if maybe you could base the fic off of that? Or something to do with grief and them helping reader out. I’ve found great comfort in the abundance of love you portray with their relationship and I could do with a lil of it.
If not it’s totally fine don’t feel obligated. Hope you have a good week!!
Hi sweetheart, sorry I couldn't get this to you during the week you requested it. I was also dealing with a bit of grief at the time and it felt too raw to try for a while. I hope you're doing well and that you really enjoy being 18, even if those feelings are complicated by your loss <33
cw: mentions of death, grief
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 622 words
The sky is turning from deep blue to black outside when Sirus notices you’ve slipped into a melancholy.
The only hint of it is in your tone. You’ve been quipping about the film you’re all watching like you always do, bouncing off his and James’ comments and Remus’ amused grunts, but there’s a falsity to the cheer in your voice. This is something you and James have in common; when Sirius or Remus are upset it permeates the area around them like a thick fog, but the two of you have a way of keeping it contained within yourselves, putting on counterfeit smiles. Sirius often wonders if it doesn’t hurt you more.
He leans away from where he’s been resting his head on Remus’ pectoral, snaking an arm around your shoulders.
“Penny for your thoughts, pretty girl?” he asks quietly.
You shrug. Swallow. “Just thinking about them,” you murmur in reply.
Sirius suspects this isn’t the full story, but he, too, knows the necessity of papering over certain pains. He doesn’t pry.
Before the war—before Regulus—Sirius used to think that grief was the pain that came from the love you had for the lost person being ripped away from you. But even months after his brother’s death, all the love is still there. It’s amplified, if anything, every ounce of it demanding attention now that he can no longer take it for granted even a little bit.
What went was the ritual of it all. The peculiar brand of happiness he’d felt around Reg, never easy but still there, buried beneath layers of troubled history and shared broodiness. The inside jokes they’d barely realized they had, things no one who wasn’t raised in their house would see the humor in. The surety that if they fought, they’d get a chance to make up. Sirius will never have those things with his brother again. In memories, maybe, but now they’ll always be tinged with the love so big it hurts.
He wishes desperately he could keep you from hurting like that.
He shuffles closer, awkwardly wrapping his other arm around you until he’s nearly covering your body with his. It’s like he thinks he can shield you, like he can protect you from grief after he’d failed to protect you from loss.
“I’m sorry,” Sirius says.
You shake your head, turning so it’s jammed in the juncture of his neck and shoulder. Your face feels hot. “I don’t know what to do,” you choke out.
Sirius squeezes you tighter. He gets it, but he doesn’t. He knows how it feels to grieve, but not how to grieve your person in your way. It’s an ache he can only approximate.
“Sweetheart.” James’ voice sounds pained, and he gets up from Remus’ other side, rounding the couch to climb onto the armrest beside you. He rubs your back with one hand, the other coming to rest on Sirius shoulder, a comfort in case he needs it. “I don’t think there’s anything you can do, my love.”
Sirius feels a hot tear slip down his neck into his shirt, and James winces as your shoulders hitch under his touch. Remus makes a soft pitying sound.
“You’re alright.” He latches onto the last unclaimed part of you, rough hand soothing up your calf. “You’re okay.”
“Sorry,” you manage, and Sirius squishes you punishingly in his arms, pressing a staunch kiss to the side of your head.
“Don’t be silly,” he tells you. James makes a half-choked sound of agreement. “No sorries, okay?”
You nod, the bump of your nose moving against Sirius’ neck. He gives you another kiss to show his approval.
“You’re alright, darling,” Remus says again. “Take all the time you need. We’ve got you.”

892 words – trans fem reg jegulus pwp – cw: light spanking, orgasm control, heinous dirty talk about breeding, cum play, creampie <3
@honeybcj
James fastens his grip in Regulus’ curls and ducks closer. He knows the answer for the question before he even asks it. But he wants to hear it. Needs to hear it. He spanks Regulus on her left cheek just to feel her clench around him, then noses at his girlfriend’s ear. “Want me to pull out before, baby?”
“No,” Regulus cries out helplessly, mindlessly arching back into him.
James grunts against the side of her head, mind swimming. “Yeah, want me to cum inside?”
Regulus whimpers deliciously, “Please.”
“God, baby,” James groans, voice rough, “Gonna make a creampie, huh?”
Regulus moans.
“Want me to lick it back out of your sweet little pussy?”
“Ja-mie,” she whines brokenly. Just the deliriously fucked out of her mind quality of her voice is enough to make James twitch inside her. There’s sweat running down her temple, mixing with the tears on her cheeks with how she’s turned her head over the pillow. James licks it up.
“Ngh- gotta be careful not to get you pregnant, love.”
Regulus gives a whole body twitch beneath him, letting out another whine that sounds close to his name. James wants to ruin her in the sweetest way.
He lets his lips ghost over her ear, “Or do you want me to breed you, baby? Huh? Pump you so full, I’ll make it stick?”
Regulus is chanting incoherent pleas, curses and gasping out his name like she does when she’s close. When that delicious pressure is building up low in her gut, about to ring up her spine and shoot into every cell, every far inch of her body. When her whole being is an electric wire and James is about to trigger a short circuit.
And he’s babbling now, couldn’t hold himself back even if he wanted to, spewing the nastiest things right into his pretty girlfriend’s ear. “Answer me, love,” he taunts.
Reg whimpers and James watches her eyes try to flutter open, so out of it.
James repeats his question. ’Cause he’s nice like that.
He can see the exact moment it registers in Regulus’ brain. A noise slips out of her, involuntary, and then James’ eyes greedily follow her spreading blush as she tries to hide her face in the pillow.
“No, no,” James admonishes, gentle and patronizing. He purposefully aims away from that bundle of nerves deep inside her, momentarily. Regulus makes an obscenely sexy mourning noise. “No hiding, baby. I’m not gonna let you cum before you tell me.”
“Jamie,” she sobs, dark curls falling over her shoulder when she ruts her face into the sheets.
“C’mon, you’ve been such a good girl. Why are you being bad right now?” He spanks her again.
Regulus yelps, followed by a moan. “Mnh, want it- inside.”
“What do you want inside, sweets?”
“You,” she presses out, pushing back onto him, “Your cum, Jamie. Want you to cum inside. Please, please.”
Fuck.
“Good girl, baby,” James groans, deepening his thrusts again. Regulus immediately dissolves underneath him again. “See, was that so hard, hm?”
Regulus makes an indecipherable sound. James grins.
He brushes her hair to the side, mouthing and nipping along her neck. She tastes like sweat and viscous sweetness. Salted caramel. James wants to put her in a blender and squeeze her into his latte every morning.
“Can I—” Regulus hiccups, “Aah- can I cum?”
James keeps putting open mouthed kisses on her neck, rutting deep inside her relentlessly, devilishly.
“Please,” his girlfriend sobs, “Please, Jamie. Gotta cum.”
“In a moment, baby,” James pants, letting himself get lost in the slick, silky heat of her, “Hold on for me, just a bit.”
She’s moaning continuously now, whining pitifully and gasping high-pitched breaths back in. Her thighs are shaking, her face scrunched in pure pleasure. One of her hand fists the sheets, white knuckling them. “Jamie, Jamie, Jamie.”
That’s what manages to tip him over in the end. He gasps out a hurried Cum for me and then he’s stuttering through his own moan as his cock kicks and spurts deep inside Reg. She’s loud when she lets herself break on James’ command. Shouting nearly and shaking through it so hard that James feels the pulses of her milk him dry.
“God, fuck,” James grunts when he finishes with one last feeble twitch, still shallowly rocking inside to help Regulus ride it out.
This one hums breathlessly, a sweet little moan, panting like she’s just done a triathlon.
“Baby,” James mumbles, breathing heavily, making her hair move and tickle his nose.
Regulus makes an acknowledging noise, nodding weakly to show she’s okay.
“Love you so bad,” James utters, kissing her cheek, her ear, the soft spot behind it.
“Love you,” Regulus replies, on a half moan, blissed out and like she’s floating.
He’s still inside and Regulus doesn’t like feeling empty immediately after but James needs to kiss her like- yesterday. He reaches around, prodding at her puffy entrance and hearing her breath hitch when he lets his cock slip out and his fingers in, plugging her up. James maneuvers Reg’s pliant body, making her leg lift, and turns her over onto her back with his finger remaining.
And then Regulus barely has the chance to blink cloudy grey eyes at him before James is demanding her mouth in a needy kiss, tasting caramel sweet.
