Man I get wanting ownership of your content and separation from the trash fire that is YouTube and needing a way to fund that but personally I feel like marketing yourself as a streaming service and hiding everything behind a paywall when everything else is increasingly becoming a monthly payment of 5.99 is maybe like... Not good
#like theres better ways to do that which will ultimately honour your audience much more#and actually everything doesnt need to be a celebration sometimes you can go yeah sorry we have to have more funding theres no other way#heres ways you can help us out#or even making it so that the main series are free with ad revenue and you can individually purchase the rest of the content#as series#that would work! and be more affordable!#i just fucking hate streaming services#and like be serious guys if people are having to prioritise between something like netflix hulu and watcher#do you seriously think they'll choose the one with the least amount of variety for their money#like personally i dont pay for any i priate that shit but i dont actually want to do that to them#because theyre not a random faceless company#but i dont watch their stuff enough to pay for it and i know a lot of other people dont either#boo bad decision#good initial idea i understand that i understand wanting to be free of the evil that is youtube#but fucking boo#al is talking

i think i'd be less mad about dead boy etectives getting cancelled if it was clear that it was because of Neil Gaiman but since no one stated it it feels like just ANOTHER show with great potential (and a cast of pretty good, young actors who really deserved better) getting cancled after one season without getting it's time to shine

OKAY SO I have NO clue if this is going to reach anybody but I’ve been watching this show and thinking about this character for FOREVER now and just needed to talk about it!!
I’ve been watching Somebody Somewhere on HBO for a while (since before the second season released), and as someone who is on the aromantic spectrum, Sam has always seemed aromantic to me.
Now don’t get me wrong: I know she’s going to date Iceland (I just finished S3 E5), and I’m more than happy about it! He’s a great guy, they seem to fit together really well, and she deserves happiness! I’m just saying that before this, that’s how she read to me.
(For those who don’t know: being aromantic basically means you experience little to no romantic attraction to others, regardless of gender)
It’s hard for me to point to an exact reason why (mainly because it’s been so long since I’ve watched the first two seasons and I have an awful memory-), but I guess it’s partly because I saw myself/others who are aromantic in her. All of your friends are in relationships, they have their people, and you just can’t seem to find anyone. And the relationships around you just don’t make sense because you don’t get what that feels like, and you can’t help but feel broken and lonely and abandoned but also so guilty because they’re happy! So you should be happy for them! But now you’re on your own and you’d almost forgotten what that felt like. And just,,,, idk idk there was a specific scene and I can’t remember what episode it was or even what season it was but Sam was talking to someone (Joel? I think?) and they were walking in a field and something she said there was really what solidified it for me.
Anyways, idc if nobody sees this, I’ve just been thinking about it for so long and I’ve never seen anybody say anything remotely similar so I just needed to yap about it!!
