🇹🇭 4 Minutes [6/8] - Finally some answers. I haven't read all the theories floating around about this last episode and what it means, but I'm firmly on the side of, there is another alternative timeline, probably from when Tyme is dying at the start of the show, and also very much in agreement with everything @lurkingshan wrote here that these are just imagined do-overs and nothing will actually change in the real world. Which would be my preferred way.

🇹🇭 Addicted Heroin [2/10] - Haven't watched this weeks episode yet. My review for the first two is here.

🇹🇼 First Note of Love [4/12] - I like them a lot. And I like the pacing of this. I love the intro song. But with a second couple being introduced I think I'm gonna get frustrated having to wait a week for a 20 minute episode. I felt that way a lot during Kiseki.

🇯🇵 I Hear the Sunspot [10/12] - I am annoyed.

🇹🇭 I Saw You In My Dream [7/12] - May the boyfriend era commence. I am enjoying this one. I'm guessing we still have a bit of angst coming and I'm hoping for a good explanation for the dreams.

🇯🇵 Mitsuya Sensei no Keikakutekina Ezuke [6/7] - Just such an incredible show. This week brought the pain and I'm still unwell. As if Frito getting sick wasn't heart breaking enough, that ending left me in tears. I cannot believe we only have one episode left. I am not ready to say goodbye to the three of them.

🇹🇭 Monster Next Door [6/12] - My favourite thing about this is definitely Big. His presence on screen is great. But I'm not fully connecting yet for some reason.

🇹🇭 Peaceful Property [1/10] - It's a lot of fun. Yeah, I know it's not a bl. But it's bl adjacent so it goes here. Also in my head it's gonna be a bl no matter what. Possibly even with a gl side couple. The mind is a powerful thing.

🇯🇵Sugar Dog Life [4/10] - I love Isumi. I really liked that they didn't drag the girl storyline and it served it's purpose. Isumi is now very much aware of it's feelings. I'm looking forward to the date episode.

🇯🇵 Takara No Vidro [9/11] - Takara, my love. This boy has my whole heart. I can't believe I'll have to say goodbye to then tomorrow. I'm bracing for part pain, part happy. Please Japan don't let me down.

🇹🇭 The Loyal Pin [1/16] - I'm waiting to binge.

🇹🇼 The On1y One [4/10] - This show will hurt and I will love every second of it. I really like the look of this show and how we get those little insights into Jiang at the end of the episode. The actors are doing great and I specially love Benjamin Tsang facial expressions. I'm curious to see these two together and how their dynamic will work considering their circumstances. Also, always happy to see the revolving door of cameos Taiwan always grace us with.

🇯🇵Twilight Out of Focus - It's so beautiful. I'm enjoying that we get different couples even if sometimes it feels like we could have more time with them. I like Rei/Shion a lot, but I do miss Mao and Hisashi. 🇹🇭 The Trainee [10/12] - Just to get it out if the way, the Bamhee/Judy storyline was definitely the right call and @lurkingshan was right all along. Also the way the office came together was delightful and it's great to see Pah getting everyone together and once again being the best friend ever. Now. THE OFFICE FLIRTING!!! I was losing my mind giggling like an idiot. I love them. It's pretty obvious at this point that it's mutual and of course Ryan will need to actually be told that, but I still think Jane will wait until the internship is over before confessing or starting anything official. I can't wait to watch all the interns reaction next week. I love it here.

QL - Finished

🇯🇵 Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko! - I'm disappointed in this one. It started off so strong but by the end it lost me. I love Hiroko but I feel like they betrayed the character. And that ending with the kiss in the office was ridiculous. Actually most of the end was weird in the way that it seemed to contradict what came before. I like that they finally got together but it didn't feel as good as it could've.

🇹🇭 Century of Love - Started of great and imo fell apart by the end. I don't think it was consistent all the way through and the mythology was all over the place. Daou did an amazing job though. Also Ju is one of the greatest female characters of the year.

🇯🇵 Cosmetic Playlover - Pretty show. Final thoughts here.

🇹🇭 Knock Knock, Boys! - Probably the biggest surprise of the year for me. It's great. I like the development of both couples. Even if near the end I got a tiny bit annoyed with Peak, I really liked the conclusion of it all. Latte is a great character and the very rare slut unjudged by the narrative.

🇹🇭🇨🇳 Meet You At the Blossom - Look it's great that we got a chinese bl, but this was not it for me. Let's hope this one helps get others made though.

🇹🇭Love Sea - It was fine. I enjoyed Mut but in general I just never connected to this show. And Muk annoyed me to no end. I was so happy to see Aya again and now I just wanna forget that she was ever in this and simply remember her as Yiwa.

🇹🇭 SunsetxVibes - I don't even have words. I don't know if it was my lack of attention or if it never actually made sense but I never really got what the mythology was all about apart from inspiring a truly horrendous looking necklace. I was slogging though this one and I guess the finale was fine.

🇹🇭 This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans - The sides were great, their chemistry was on point. I really wanna see them again. The mains were my favourite thing about Pit Babe but I just didn't like them here.

🇹🇭 The Rebound - I just have to accept that MeenPing will always have bad scripts. They are pretty together but this was a mess.

It's been 3 whole years since I've gotten into Utapri and met the love of my life!!

And what better way to celebrate than to have a final Live Show to commemorate not only our 3rd Year Anniversary together but to also Shining Live's closure! For many it's been a long journey, but for me it feels like my journey is still only beginning. I'm excited for the many many years that follow and for the new tiddings that will be ahead. With Natsuki by my side, I know no matter how hard it gets, it'll be breeze just having someone so positive, supportive, and the one I can call my husband.

Ooohhh, I really can't believe that Shining Live is going to be shut down completely :')

I know for many fans, like me, also got into the series through the rhythm game on the app store. Had it not been for me giving idol games a chance, I never would have met Natsuki. He was the positive person I really needed in my life when I felt like I was so out of place. He got me to be so much kinder, he helped me be much more positive. If there was anyone that made me have a goofy grin 24/7 it was him!!

But as we all know, not everything lasts forever. With the same rhythm game being shut down last year I was absolutely devastated. It was very jarring for me to realize that a certain part of my life was officially over. Not by my choice however, it shook many MANY fans. Not just me, so many of us really did enjoy being able to log in in the morning, their favorite boy greeting them with a good morning. Even now I can still remember Natsuki's cute yawn and telling the sweetest good morning. The occasional him asking me not to hog the blanket. I really do miss it. Not to say that I miss the game in its entirety, gacha can go to hell or whatever but, a lot of us really felt connected to our guy cause it really felt like we were sharing our days with them.

And so I tried joining the JP version of the app, it was still up but many of us didn't have hopes that their version was gonna last for much longer. I quickly dropped the app cause it just wasn't the same. The language barrier was too great, so it really did hinder what I was trying to get back. And it doesn't help that we were right. Nearly exactly after the 1st anniversary of EN's shut down announcement, JP recieved theirs. No matter how much they spend on the game, it's bound for its end. While the pain of the loss wasn't as great as the first, it was still so hard for us to grapple with the fact that this is officially an end of an era.

My feelings for today are a bit of a mixed bag, but overall, just as Natsuki would want for me, I'll do my best to smile through it and be happy. It's our day! It's our day of coming together, and we'll be expecting new tidings! This isn't the end, but rather a start for something new!

So let's celebrate! Happy 3 year anniversary, Natsuki! Let's be together always!! 💛💛💫

So I'll start with the fact that I am, indeed, a fan of Chibnall's era. I am an even bigger fan of the 13th Doctor. I'll also start with the fact that I quite literally grew up with RTD's writing and loved Ten with all my heart. But now I am an adult and some of RTD's writing has left me a bit scared. Here's my "live streaming" review on The Star Beast. SPOILERS BELOW!

I'm going in order of how I processed things, so it's gonna be chaotic. My first essay is this: You know why this post is so long? It's because we're not livestreaming things anymore. I'm not immediately with other fans in real time, typing out our little posts. I'm quite literally doing this at my leisure. I'll miss watching DW live. Now then, in order! 1. The music? Ten out of ten. I have always loved Gold's compositions and he did not let us down. And this opinion is only being generated from the new(er) theme song. Which leads me to...

2. Look at the B U D G E T. Even the opening credits has a budget that you can just FEEL. Those stars/galaxies? Very nice... And then I have to chuckle over the low level lighting / 2000s era effects of David Tennant's full profile voiceover of Donna and his story.

3. Him taking the boxes, seeing Donna's face, and slowly putting the boxes back is an RTD special and I LOVE that kind of comedy. It just makes me chuckle. And then him having a full blown panic over hearing Donna shout "Rose!" which... 4. Having these little call back moments feels rather bitter since we're calling this a reboot of the show. UNLESS the reboot is when Nucti starts up? But the fact that I'm confused just shows how bitter I should be. Again, my Chibnall love is showing. I don't believe in yet another reboot for DW, but that's a marketing thing over anything else... I hope. 5. I'm glad the 2000s Rose/Doctor shipping era lives strong through the name Rose. I know those fans are going to be happy and they deserve it. 6. NOW... Donna having a family. Okay. I'll have a separate post but... Does anyone else think that Donna having a husband just doesn't fit for her? Especially with her memories erased? Idk, I just never envisioned Donna getting married after the whole Lance thing. BUT I'm glad she's happy and the husband seems so nice. 7. Donna giving up that lottery money? Also strange considering she lost her memories. The first time we meet Donna we get this feeling that she's a bit shallow, which makes sense because she has to develop as a character. That was her character development so here KEEPING the money would have made more sense here. Which...

8. Rose. That's all. She's great!

9. Hey, can't help but notice, but when did the 14th Doctor have time to make a new screwdriver, huh? What gives? AND - AND there's not a single hint of 13's sonic on there. HMM. What the heck!

10. FORGOT SOMETHING. Whatever the line was "that says mistress" "Oh, catch up, will you?" I don't know how to take in this scene quite yet, but it's making me pause. It felt... Off kilter. Maybe cause I love 13 so much, I don't know. There's always callbacks to other faces when the Doctor first regenerations, but this felt... Wrong? Also, TEE HEE my mind went to Missy IMMEDIATELY and I love that little connection my fic writing brain is going wild.

11. WHY DOES UNIT HAVE SO MUCH MONEY???? Look at this uniforms, holy cow! I almost don't like it? Like, they're an underground agency. WE JUST SAW THEM GET DESTROYED BY CYBERMEN IN THE POWER OF THE DOCTOR. Are we just ignore that entire episode or...?

12. Donna not being able to keep a job? Yeah, THAT one I believe haha.

13. "I will burn down the world for you, darling" says Donna Noble to her transgender kid. WHICH IS AMAZING, WHICH MADE ME SMILE SO WIDE I WAS HAVING A PARTY IN MY BRAIN. There's my Donna! 14. "Gramps used to talk about flying saucers" oh god my heart. I teared up a little, not going to lie. Wilf, I think about you every single day. You made the Doctor the person he is today.

15. MEEP IS SO CUTE. OH WOW. I know "evil" is coming but SO CUTE RIGHT NOW.

16. To go from some excellent animatronics from the Meep to whatever those alien, fly things are was HILARIOUS. What, we'd run out of money for those costume's? Were they meant to look like a typical RTD alien back in the 2000s? How does that work?

17. WHAT THE ACTUAL FLYING FUCK WAS THE SONIC DOING. Wait, did Disney give the sonic some magical powers? Why are we suddenly writing in the air? How are we getting readouts of the ship from the sonic like that? Could it do that before? Why would we not do that before? I'm dying that's so funny.

18. Shirley seems cool!!! I hope we get more of her! And I love the nod to PROPER representation. Chibs did a good job of that as well. Edit: REAL representation! Good on RTD. The scene with the stairs and she says "don't make me the problem"... I am not a wheelchair user but I do hope that was properly done. 19. "I absolutely love her [Donna]" LOOK AT 14 HAVING FEELINGS! Aww, I hope 15 follows through with the feelings! 11, 12, and 13 have been so locked up, so scared to love... Having a Doctor that's ready to loudly embrace their love for things would be such a good character development. (My fear would be RTD ripping that away in the most tragic way possible, but that's a future problem I suppose).

20. I'm at the scene where Rose is talking to the Meep in the shed, and just, again, THE MUSIC. We did have some good musical moments in 13's era but, even I have to admit, nothing as pretty as this. It really is something, round of applause once again.

21. LISTEN. L I S T E N. I don't condone slapping the Doctor. I don't. In fact, it's wrong. It's very wrong. And you can't slap 13, can you? So slapping 14 shouldn't make sense. It's the definition of sexist. It's just not something you should do. BUT. B U T. Jackie's "stitch this, mate" is always in my head and now THIS "here we go again" after Sylvia gives the Doctor a good slap... I laughed, okay? It was funny! But really, in the good year of 2023, there shouldn't be comedy like that. That joke should have died. BUT I LAUGHED. So I'm to blame as well.

22. "Never mind about the ferret from mars." I LOVE the mars callback from Donna, thank you very much.

23. Kate looking after Wilf damn near brought tears to my eyes. Kate, you are the real hero of the DW universe. Thank you.

24. This is... This is gonna be another post. But. Okay. So. The whole "you're assuming he as a pronoun". Right. Okay. I know groups of people that talk like that. Both online and in person. Personal life spoiler, I work(ed) in musical theater. I've seen it all. I, personally, do not like this whole... "Let's be really obvious about it" thing. And also highly believe in someone else first telling me, when it fits, what their pronouns are. Having someone pull the defensive "YOU ASSUMED" crap doesn't work because humans don't think like that. It's a whole other rant, but yeah. This felt forced and I hate when shows do that. Representation is important but FORCING that representation doesn't help.

25. what's the. what's the sonic doing. what. how'd it. we got lines in the air. we got unbelievable shield. we. he waved it like a wand and now. what the. how'd. (Yo, not me head cannoning that this is 13 banging around in 14's head demanding that they have a better way to protect their friends. Love it). I WILL HAVE A LOT MORE THOUGHTS ON THIS.

26. DW has money now. That will continue to blow my mind.

27. "This is a sonic screwdriver and if it's good at one thing, it's resonating concrete". Oh yeah, Doctor? I'd like to bring forth you, never once, being able to do it. Not once! (And now it's good at creating magical shields and complex, alien holograms, but that's point #25)

28. Where'd in hell's name did he get that wig and how soon can Donna throw it out a window?

29. MEEP YOU - YOU UTTER AHOLE. Man, it was SO CUTE

Kicho: “That’s why everyone has unanswered questions.”

Mai: “Everyone?”

Kicho: “Still, don���t forget. Wherever you are, whatever you do, you are you.”

Kicho: “As long as you have your will to live, this truth will never change.”

Kicho: “You are not just someone. You’re Mai.”

Kicho: “Wherever you are, whatever you do, just live as you.”

A low voice replied briefly, and Sasuke landed in the room quietly.

Mai: "So you came from the top today. You really are dedicated to your work."

Sasuke: "Thanks for the compliment."

Sasuke: "So, have you decided? What are you gonna do?"

Mai: "Yes, I'm going home."

Sasuke: "Huh?"

Sasuke: "You're serious. All right."

Sasuke: "Then let's hurry before we miss our only chance."

Sasuke: "Mai, how are you doing over there?"

Mai: "Great. I think it’ll be done shortly."

Sasuke: "I see. I'll go over there and get some water."

Mai: "Okay. Thanks."

I watched Sasuke move deeper into the forest and checked the grilled fish.

(It’s starting to cook well. It’s a little like camping.)

(Well, it’s still hard to start a fire. But what can I do? I’m in the Sengoku period.)

I took out a hastily scribbled note from my bag.

(The Oda army will leave Azuchi tomorrow, and their route will be一)

Sasuke: “............”

Mai: “Waah!? Sasuke, how long have you been there!?”

Sasuke: “A while ago. Sorry, you seemed so focused, so I tried to erase my presence.”

Mai: “Yeah. It was perfect. I didn’t even notice you until I looked up.”

Mai: “Wait, did you fetch the water already?”

Sasuke: “Yeah. But we can't relax even though we're on a break.”

Sasuke: “I have to get you safely back to Sakai before the Oda army arrives.”

Mai: “Yeah. Sorry for getting you into this trouble.”

Sasuke: “It’s okay, don’t worry about it. I’m here to help.”

Sasuke squinted his eyes slightly and picked up a freshly cooked grilled fish.

(That’s reassuring. I couldn’t have made this decision alone.)

(I can’t believe I’m going back to Kicho and not to my original time.)

After making up my mind, I spent the next few days attending war councils to learn Kicho's whereabouts and situation. Then, I slipped out of the castle with Sasuke last night.

I left eight lucky charms and a letter for everyone in the Oda army, apologizing for leaving without saying anything and wishing each of them well.

That letter, full of every thanks I could think of for everything they have done so far, has then probably already been discovered.

(It was painful to say goodbye like that, but I had no choice.)

(It was the best solution I could do.)

Mai: "Sasuke. I'm glad I came to this era."

Mai: "I guess I wasn't wrong in the past when I decided not to get too deep into it, but now that I have someone I care about, I feel like I can live more like myself."

Sasuke: "I see. Actually, I know exactly how you feel."

Sasuke: "After sending you off, I planned to stay in this period."

Mai: "You have someone important, too, don't you?"

Sasuke: "Yeah, a lot."

Sasuke: "So no matter what, I will support you."

Mai: "Okay! Thank you so much."

Mitsuhide: "Lord Nobunaga, excuse me."

Nobunaga: "Did you find Mai?"

Mitsuhide: "No. But the maid found this in her room."

Nobunaga: "A letter? And what are these?"

Mitsuhide: "Probably lucky charms. The maid said it was left there along with the letter."

Nobunaga: "Ho?"

Nobunaga opened the letter he received, and after a moment of silence, he sighed lightly.

Nobunaga: "Her handwriting is very sloppy."

Mitsuhide: "What does it say?"

Nobunaga: "It says that she left the castle silently. She also apologizes for that, wishes everyone in the Oda well, and expresses her gratitude for all we've done."

Mitsuhide: “That’s very typical of that lass.”

Nobunaga: “Typical of her, huh? Then what do you think about this?”

Nobunaga: “The letter ends with this statement.”

Mitsuhide: “I’m a spy who snuck into the Oda army. I see. We’ve been tricked.”

Mitsuhide: “I had no idea she was involved in all the planning, including the bombardment of the castle.”

Nobunaga: “She’s a better actor than you. She fooled everyone in the castle.”

Mitsuhide: “Lord Nobunaga, what should we do?”

Nobunaga: “Naturally, I won’t tolerate anyone who stands in the way of unification.”

Nobunaga: “If that woman has confessed to being a traitor, then we must eliminate her and Kicho.”

Nobunaga: “We’ll head to Sakai tomorrow.”

Mitsuhide: “Understood.”

A few days later一

(All right. There are no guards here.)

Stealthily slipping between the houses, I ran to the main street, then back into the shadows, looking around and holding my breath.

(Don’t be hasty. I need to proceed carefully until I reach the trading post. If they find me here, it’ll be over.)

(I shouldn’t waste Sasuke’s kindness in vain.)

Sasuke and I parted shortly before arriving in Sakai.

The rumors that Kicho himself had spread caused a disturbance in the public order around Sakai.

Because of this, we got caught up in the fighting, so Sasuke let me go, telling me to go on ahead.

(Kicho is in this town. That's why...)

Mai: "Mmhp!?"

Suddenly, someone covered my mouth from behind and put my arms behind my back.

(Crap, they found me!)

I felt a dull ache in my arm as I frantically twisted around.

Mai: "----!"

???: "Stop resisting. If you screw around, you'll break your arms."

(This voice...)

I moved my eyes to look across the street and saw someone approaching, smirking.

Motonari: "You're really bad at sneaking in, Princess."

Mai: “Motonari, let me go!”

Motonari: “Ha? Why are you even saying that to me? That guy is the one who’s holding you back.”

Mai: “Aren’t you the one giving orders to this guy?”

Motonari: “Geez, you’re so loud. Don’t forget, I’m doing you a favor by letting you talk right now.”

Motonari: “If I wanted to, I could cut off your mouth, your cocky eyes, and even your legs.”

Mai: “That’s...”

Motonari: “Ha! See, you can shut up. Follow me.”

Mai: “Fine.”

After capturing me, Motonari passed by the trading post and came straight to the port.

As I followed, unsure of his intentions, I noticed a large ship.

Mai: "Since I'm behaving quietly, can I, at least, ask you one question?"

Motonari: "What is it?"

Mai: "If we're at the port, does that mean we're going somewhere?"

Motonari: "Yeah, we'll move to another port from here. It's a perfect place to wait for the Oda army."

(Another port!?)

Mai: "Then, could you please stop by the trading post first? I have something important to do."

Motonari: "Kicho, right? If it's him, he's not there anymore."

Motonari: "To begin with, that trading post is heavily guarded but deserted."

Motonari: "It's better to have some clear information to spread rumors."

Mai: "Then, where's Kicho now?"

Motonari: "I only allowed one question. I've already answered two. It's time for you to shut up."

Motonari: "Don't worry, I'll take you back to your boss."

Mai: "Is that..."

Once we got on board, Motonari opened the door of one of the rooms without knocking.

Motonari: "Excuse me."

Kicho: "That's what you should've said before twisting that doorknob."

Sighing, Kicho stood up from the chair and turned around.

The moment he saw me, his eyes widened.

Kicho: "Mai, why are you here?"

Mai: "Umm, I just wanted to apologize for the horrible things I said to you the other day."

Kicho: "Is that the only reason you came here?"

Kicho: "The wormhole will appear tonight at Honnoji Temple, as I observed. It's your last chance to return to your own time."

Mai: "I know."

Kicho: "Do you understand what it means to be here?"

Kicho: "It means you'll be left behind in this period with no way to return. You一"

Mai: "I know!"

Kicho: "..........."

Mai: "I understand everything. I know that's why I'm here now, of my own free will."

Mai: "I told you, don't decide for someone how to live their life."

Mai: "It doesn't matter how you live your life or how I live mine."

Kicho: "Mai."

(Your life is more precious to me than anything else because I love you so much.)

Mai: "If you think justice and a villain are necessary for peace, I'll gladly become that villain too. I'll become everyone's enemy."

Kicho: “What are you…”

Mai: “Let me tell you something. There’s no turning back now.”

Mai: “I left a note saying I’m your accomplice, who snuck into Azuchi Castle.”

As I stepped toward the startled Kicho, Motonari burst out laughing behind me.

Motonari: “Ahahaha! You really are fucking crazy.”

Mai: "I-It's not a laughing matter! I made a serious decision."

Motonari: "That's why I'm laughing. As usual, yer head is still full of flowers."

Motonari: "If you're going to stay in this era, you better figure out how to stop this situation without risking the life of someone you care about."

Mai: "Me? Hold on. You know I'm not from this era?"

Motonari: "Yeah. Kicho told me everything. That's why you're the right fella for the job."

Motonari: "If yer head is full of everything about peace, you can easily think of another idea."

(Another idea...?)

Motonari: "Well, you two enjoy the rest of the evening."

Motonari: "It'd be rude to interrupt this emotional reunion any longer."

Motonari turned his back and left the room.

Mai: "You told Motonari everything, and then you decided to fight together?"

Kicho: "Yeah, that's right."

Mai: "Then why didn't you tell me?"

Mai: "I heard you're willing to give up your life in this fight."

Kicho: "That's..."

He frowned and fell silent.

His chest seemed to be filled with conflict, confusion, and many other emotions.

Mai: "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound mean."

Mai: "The last time I spoke with you, I didn't realize the truth you were keeping from me."

Mai: "And I asked you terrible things too. I'm sorry."

Kicho: "Raise your head. You don't owe me an apology."

Kicho: "If anyone owes you an apology, it's me."

Mai: "You?"

Kicho: "Yeah. If I had really only thought about you, I wouldn't have gone to see you."

Kicho: "I wanted to make sure you were safe, but I guess I wanted to keep you somewhere."

Kicho: "I wanted you to be in my heart even if you don't stay in this era."

Mai: "Kicho..."

Mai: "I love you, so you don't have to do that."

Mai: "But thank you. Thank you for thinking of me that way."

I couldn't resist running up to him and hugging him, putting all my strength into my arms to convey all my feelings through my heartbeat and warmth.

Kicho: "I never thought you'd thank me."

Kicho: "You really are..."

(Ah...)

Swallowing a slight tremor in his voice, he hugged me too.

(It's okay, you don't have to say anything more.)

(I understand everything. It's all getting through.)

Kicho: "Thank you for coming back to me."

Kicho: "No."

Mai: "Huh? No?"

Kicho: "This is dangerous for you. You should value your life a little more."

Mai: "Someone who tried to sacrifice himself has no room to say that."

Mai: "But you're right. Our current strategy indeed seemed unreasonable."

After a brief moment of happiness at our reunion, we remembered that we didn't have much time left, so we started thinking of new plans for the future.

Kicho: "Let me reiterate the situation. First, I had no problem with the actions you took."

Kicho: "There's nothing unusual about the travel guide, and you're not getting sick like you used to."

Kicho: "In other words, we're still able to avoid a war-torn future."

Mai: "You're right. I think what's important is to make the enemies or enemy disappear."

Mai: "However, that enemy must be someone not heavily involved in the history we are about to face."

Mai: "So, Ieyasu, who's about to open the Tokugawa Shogunate, is not allowed."

Kicho: "Yeah. He's too important."

Mai: "If Japan itself is the stage, then we're the supporting characters."

Mai: "Someone who would've remained the same whether they were there or not..."

Kicho: "Mai."

Mai: "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to sound so gloomy, but this is weird."

Kicho: "I guess you're still tired."

Kicho: "Fatigue affects our thinking. Get some rest."

Mai: "Maybe so, but now is not the time to一"

Kicho: "Impatience also has an effect. Anyway, wait here for a while."

He said that and quickly left the room.

Sighing, I plopped down on the table and groaned.

After a while, I heard the door open again.

Kicho: "Sorry to keep you waiting."

Mai: "No, it's okay. More importantly, what did you bring?"

Kicho: "Tea. It's a good thing I left some."

He carefully poured the tea into a teacup, emptied a small bowl, and took something out.

Kicho: "How sweet do you like it?"

Mai: "Huh? Sugar in this era?"

Kicho: "I'm the head of a trading post. I can get almost anything."

Mai: "I see. Then, a little sweet."

Kicho: "Yeah, got it."

He picked a few pieces of konpeito (sugar candy) and put them in the tea, the lovely sugar candy slowly melting in the steamy amber.

Kicho: "Here. You'll feel a little more relaxed if you drink something warm."

Mai: "Okay. Thank you."

Gratefully accepting it, I took a sip and a gentle sweetness spread in my mouth.

(It's delicious.)

(I feel my body warming up gradually from deep inside my stomach.)

Mai: "What?"

Kicho: "You finally smiled."

Tbh the atsv fan "characterization" that pisses me off the most is the Miles Morales Prowler shit. Thats just a 15 year old. Good god. It makes me want to punch a bitch. At least Hobie is punk (even tho like. I still super dont like thag a lot of characterizations of him that seem to rely too much on the fact that a lot of Punk Thingz™️ (namely, drugs and hate for authority) are also antiblack stereotypes and we should be giving benefit of the doubt in these cases)

But Miles Morales is still Miles Morales, even if in a dif universe he's the prowler and his hair's different(? Im ngl im white and idk if it has anything to do with this, but ive seen his hair referenced before as important). I also see a lot of ppl forgetting how Morales was treated after the first movie, that fuckin colored pencil post still makes me mad.

Oh the moment I tried to block the Miguel tag (which DIDNT WORK, btw), the Miles G reader stuff showed up and I had instant regret 😭 but I haven't seen much for him outside of that. I'm glad I haven't, now.

Tbh, I wasn't really into Fandom when ITSV came out, so I (gratefully) missed all of the bullshit I heard happen with that one.

What's really pissed me off about Miles' seeming depiction by fandom, at least in the sections I've seen, is...idk if I'm saying this right.... To over simplify him? Like it frustrates me that a movie, both movies, the existence of Miles Morales himself, ALL have to do with themes of race, representation, and belonging. Yes there are plenty of other messages that are important, but all of them connect back to that identity too.

And people are just... Glossing over that. In this desire to go "oh he's so precious"- in what I'm sure is white ppls well-intentioned attempt to not be seen as a racist that doesn't care about Black children- they are still managing to completely ignore how his identity is symbolic in the storytelling. It's colorblindness in a movie where seeing race is essential and if you're gonna ignore it you might as well not even watch it at all bc at its core it's HIS story.

Like yeah, you think he's queer allegory, yeah you recognize how it feels to not belong, how to fight the status quo, fantastic, I love it, are you actually engaging with the race aspect that affects his experience of all of those things? Are you processing that when Rio said he might not be accepted in spaces, just maybe you have brown friends who feel that way in white spaces, fan and otherwise (esp now with affirmative action lmao, but always with Miles in the comics and dealing with fans). It's easy to think a multicultural movie with a Brown antagonist, well it "can't have to do with race" and that's just not true.

That's why people fixating on Hobie mildly disturbs me too; he TOO is a BLACK punk. That makes a difference, in his solidarity and what that meant for Black viewers. Or how they're ignoring Margo altogether despite her crucial role in his escape. Or how they're refusing to engage with Jessica Drew with understanding (you don't have to agree with her! I don't! But to understand where she stands in that spectrum from Hobie to Miguel, she is not nearly as bad as fandom wants to believe; she's actually comparable to Peter B but misogynoir prevents that conversation).

Like I am so happy we are finally entering an era where Black and Brown people are seeing themselves more on screen in roles we've yearned for, I am. But that also means it's time for white people to start engaging with what that means, and that means unlearning and learning.

1. They might simply be tkkrs who lurk in jkk spaces. I've never ever explored the taekook tag on tumblr because I've never felt the need to. I get all my TK content from army twt itself. It's an old habit of tkkrs and old habits die hard.

2. Maybe they are jkkers who once believed/supported jikook dating and were 100% sure and then their delusions were shattered due to some shipper drama. And now they are in post delulu phase, coping hard by trying to make others experience the same shattering. (That's why I don't choose to believe in any ship being real. I found your blog recently and didn't know you were writing a book?! Whoa, whoa is it fantasy, historical, romance, mystery? Who are the main characters? (Sorry if it has been asked before)

yes!! it's actually the 8th book i've ever written, but it's likely going to be the first that i get actually officially published (i've self-published two other novels in the past that can be bought on amazon!!)

the general information about the novel can be found here, but the main characters are as follows!!

father cesare michael sparrow is the main character of the story. he's a young priest, who has grown up in a highly abusive household and it's shaped who he is as a person and it shows. he's an alcoholic and a drug and sex addict in an attempt to cope with that abuse, especially because he blames himself for what his sister has endured. he also is in love with his sister and hates himself for it because of what they've suffered at the hands of their father. he has a love/hate relationship with his younger brother cole because cole is unaware of the abuse happening in the household and, as a result, cole idolizes their father, who cesare, obviously, hates. he's the oldest child and the twin brother of loa. my fc for him is francois arnaud; particularly in the man who was thursday.

loa grace sparrow is the secondary main character of the story, but nowhere near to the extent cesare is. she's got a heart condition that is slowly killing her. i'm not gonna lie: she's 100% a self-insert and her trauma mirrors mine almost exactly. cesare is in awe of her and sees her as the last good, pure thing in the world, though the reality is, he puts her on a pedestal and she's a lot less innocent than he believes her to be (not to say she's a bad person; she's just...not as pure as cesare thinks). she's just as in love with cesare as cesare is in love with her, but she gets along with cole and it's actually because of her that cole doesn't know waht their father does to them; she wants cole to retain some shred of innocence even if they can't. my fc for her is olivia hussey in romeo and juliet.

cole isaac sparrow isn't really a main character, but he's definitely in the story quite a bit. despite not knowing what's going on in the house between his father and his older siblings, he's affected by it all the same. he drinks and does drugs just as cesare does and he draws very violent images, which paper the inside of his bedroom. he starts off very spoiled, but ends up being a lot more like his older brother, which....isn't exactly a great thing tbh. my fc for him is bill skarsgard in hemlock grove.

landry marceau isn't a main character, but i added him in on a whim almost. he's cesare's best friend and, sometimes, his friend with benefits. he's jewish and studying to become a scientist at the nearby university, but he also dances at the male strip club in town, the blue tulip, to make more money to get himself through school. i want to add more of him into the story because he's just so much fun, but i haven't thought of any way to yet. my fc for him is louis garrel in the dreamers.

father douglas sparrow is the father of the sparrow children and the religious leader as well as the unofficial leader of the town of sparrow. he's the wealthiest man in town and everyone follows him either consciously or not. he's brutal, but appears kind on the outside and everyone likes his public persona. he forced cesare into being a priest and named him cesare with the hope he would be a conquerer just like his namesake. he seems to see his daughter as a replacement for the wife that went missing over twenty years ago and he doesn't really pay much attention to cole at all. my fc for him is jeffrey dean morgan in the unholy, but really just in his old man era (lol) in general.

minnie sparrow is the mother of the sparrow children and the wife of douglas that went missing twenty years ago when the twins were twelve. she is the exact opposite of her husband: loving, caring, kind, and generous. no one knows what happened to her; only that she went missing. her remains were never recovered. my fc for her is holly hunter in batman v superman.

these characters are cAKED in metaphor, in case you can't tell by their names alone and i am adding all of that metaphor into the story itself because i love imagery and symbolism.

.: Long Awaited 'Essay' On Trans People :.

I wanted to talk about this for awhile, but I never felt I had the time to. But, after remembering this topic after literal months (mostly because I saw the video on one of the people I'm gonna talk about here pop up in my Youtube feed again), I am going to be as clear and precise as I can with all of this. But keep in mind, this is just my opinion and I am in NO way trying to defend these people - it's simply an analysis on how the early 2000's created two monsters for very similar reasons. (If I ramble I'm sorry I am sick while writing this)

After re-watching the 'Ember McLain Guy' video again, it helped me realize something that I don't think a lot of people picked up on. In this specific case, the guy said he 'felt like a girl' and everyone else seemed to skip over that fact in the comments I saw. Not one person (besides me) brought up the point that the guy might've been trans, and I can kind of see why it was skipped over. But it's still a point I'm bringing up here, because I believe it's only part of the puzzle.

Another infamous case similar to this is Chris Chan, who has come out as trans (mtf). But again, this is only part of the puzzle. A person can be trans for their own reasons, but I bet that in a lot of cases (especially in the early 2000's) that a lot of these 'men' are actually trans - during that point in time, being trans wasn't as open or as talked about by the general public unless it was a 'joke' or to demean someone. Not only that, but the old 'predator' line was used a lot against the trans community even back then. So if a 'man' felt like he was in the wrong body at the time, they'd most likely bury it deep until it messed them up even more.

Of course, these two individuals I'm talking about here are still mentally unstable regardless of their identity. But it definitely feels like the fault of an era that they felt they couldn't get help before they pushed the limits and hurt others, if they could just have seen a therapist then maybe they'd be 'normal' (at least more than they ended up being). Not just to discover their identity and realize it's ok, but to also get help for their other issues as well (not going to diagnose either of them here as it'd be unfair).

And, sadly, I don't know if there was any other cases like this but it does seem that when a 'guy' would bring up they 'feel like a girl' no one ever thought that maybe they should seek therapy fot it. Even in the modern day, people glossed over that point when watching documentaries on these individuals and instead targeted them on other points (the fact they were loners living with their parents and on the internet a lot). Which is not really fair, maybe it's just me readng into it a bit too much but it really feels we are missing out on a good talking point for trans rights and how denying one's identity can lead to them making drastic decisions (not just mrder but also sucide and slf hrm).

It's a good point that further goes into why men feel they can't be open/emotional, and why women always feel attacked by those same men (I actually talked about this point with my brother last night after watching some Hunter Avallone so I'm bringing it up here). In truth, if the system didn't have these hard-wired things on gender then people like Chris Chan and the 'Ember McLain Guy' most likely would've gotten help long before they ever truly snapped. But even if they didn't get help, the option would still have been there for them to take. And that's the point - having the option for help, rather than having nothing and then society is to blame for these events.

tl;dr - The early 2000's was not kind to the trans community at all, and it led to two individuals who were born as 'men' to not get the help they needed out of fear but instead they went out and harmed others. Society sucks, humanity needs to do better.
