I'm guarding my heart against expecting adoribull crumbs in veilguard because I really don't believe it's going to happen. I think that might be one of the sweet slender branches on the possibility tree that they'll gently and quietly prune away from relevancy, especially since it doesn't involve a player character. dorian will almost certainly be back (hey hiii bestie how have you been? stressed out of your mind I imagine), but I can't imagine they'll let you get too granular with setting up your world state, especially since after ten years they will be expecting to have a lot of players who are new to the series. like AT MOST I can imagine a little background detail implying an amicable bittersweet breakup rather than dragging out the long distance and danger of it all as tevinter politics heat up, if you're allowed to set them both as being still alive.
all that being said I still want it so fucking badly tho fhdskjfhas
Story takes place at the start of Chapter 4 (MINOR SPOILERS)
Comic Title drawn by Kazin (as well as the whole comic)
Here's the Dub! Vocals and Editing done by me 🎙️📑 Enjoy!!
Further Rambling Below
Hehe I bet you all didn't think voice acting was among my list of hidden hobbies/talents didja? (I’m just full of surprises x3) Well... I can only hope that I delivered well enough here. (please feel free to laugh at my attempted Yakou voice… LMAO)
So this is yet another collab project that @kazinsblog and I did together. The story is based on a kokowendy ch4 canon divergent skit that I made way back last fall. When Kazin saw it, she wanted to make it into a full comic. I didn't protest (I never do LOL) but then I wanted to try something.
I've never attempted a solo dub of a comic before, and honestly I didn't think I would with RainCode due to a majority of the characters being male. Sadly with my naturally high voice I can only do so much with attempting male voices. I usually only do female or child character voices.
But since Kurumi is the lead role of this story, and has the most lines, I decided to give it a try. I do love Kurumi (she's my best girl) so I hope I did her justice here. I like to think I did her voice fairly well. I struggled a bit with the guys (and Halara) but I think my Yuma is decent enough... x'D (plus it was really fun making him sound tired and out of breath :3)
I do enjoy Kokowendy as a ship, though I'm not a huge shipper. But these two are just too cute... ;w; So I think a scenario like this suits them both. Plus it gives Kurumi a chance to be reliable and try to help her beloved hero in his time of need <3 Honestly it can even be seen as platonic. Its very tame (the only small hint is that Yuma blushes at some point, but that's it)
I had a lot of fun doing this!! I got the voices and editing done in only 3 days, so it’s definitely not a long lasting project. (on my end anyway) But I still think it’s a pretty big project with all of the work both of us did. Editing the video was probably the most fun part for me >w< I knew exactly what BGM and sound effects I wanted months in advance c: I only hope I did the editing style of it right. Comic dubs are very peculiar in the way they’re done… 💦 (also no I’m not putting this on YouTube, this is a tumblr exclusive ONLY! And I give NOBODY permission to re-upload it without my consent!)
I’m not sure if I'm the first that's attempted a RC comic dub before, but if I am, then I am very happy c: Idk if I'll do another full one though. Like I said too many of the characters are male... x'D This may be a one time thing for me here. But if I were to do one, I figured why not on a comic that was made specifically for me? c: (ty again kazin!💕)
Anyway I'm done yapping now, I hope you all enjoy! 💜 Feel free to let me know what you think or which role you enjoyed from me the most! (tho I think the answer is obvious lol)
Warriorcats was released and I think had some level of success in China. If you assume Shen Yuan was a young adult around the year scum villain came out, there is a non-zero chance he could've read warrior cats growing up.
What would've been his warrior cat name? Who was his favorite cat (and why is it brambleclaw)?
I don’t think Aaravos will have much use for Viren anymore (or for the time being at least!), but I believe that Viren’s not going to die.
This is due to the Discord S4 Q&As:
Mainly this, but more under the cut
From the Discord Hiatus Q&As, answered by Aaron Ehasz and Devon Giehl
The creators hint multiple times at more things in store for Viren: having a redemption arc (him using dark magic being a “bump on his inner journey”) and arc with Soren, with “their most meaningful interaction yet to come” over the last few seasons.
This morning, police officers arrived and began to physically remove students from the university grounds. A police spokesman, Robert Szumiata, said that the “rector asked us to unblock the traffic routes”.
The autonomy of universities is protected by law, which states that police can only enter campus in cases of immediate danger to people's lives or health or upon the rector's request.
Alojzy Nowak, the rector, refused to negotiate: he refused to let students into the building, fearing that 'they would start occupying the negotiation room'. He didn't come out to meet the students outside either, despite the intervention of MPs (Members of Parliament), reluctantly sent by students to investigate the situation (they weren't too happy to be represented by politicians and not listened to by the rector directly), whom he had agreed to let in.
The protesters were ID'd by the police and got charged with "disturbing the domestic peace", even though they were protesting outside the university's buildings.
The students demand:
A public, resolute, and unequivocal condemnation of Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip and the occupation of Palestine. Recognition of the right to return for forcibly displaced Palestinians, to statehood, and to equality.
Severing cooperation with Israeli academic institutions and other organizations and companies that are linked to the occupation of Palestine and the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, as well as boycotting Israeli institutions at the national and international level until the end of the occupation of Palestine."
i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.
i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.
and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.
there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.
the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.
why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies
at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.
Is gay marriage legal in Sumeru? Would you face any issues with the Academiya for dating or marrying a man?
Sumeru is a nation focused almost entirely on the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. As such, it is well within our interests as a nation to reject nonsensical traditional views and policies. Especially now, with the corrupt sages removed from power, that has been realized in its entirety. Akademiya is expanding to the desert, healthcare is free, artistic expression is encouraged. Even then, all of the previously existing stereotypes and biases have stemmed from academic disparities, misconceptions, and influence from the people in power—rather than mass discrimination for sexuality or gender, like some other nations might face. This is not to say that some people don’t experience those biases on an individual level—they just aren’t systemic. The discrimination against desert dwellers, on the other hand, are an entirely different issue, and will likely take years to deconstruct.
In terms of gay marriage, I cannot recall such a preventative law existing in the time that I’ve been General Mahamatra, but if it had, I have no doubt that either Lesser Lord Kusanali or Alhaitham himself would have eradicated it from our legislature by now. You are free to marry who you want in Sumeru.
on a deep space mission traveling from an environmentally devastated earth with hope to restart humanity elsewhere
when they’re halfway, an explosion kills 3 crew and pushes them off course
the only witness is the Alternate who has no specific role, and she has to figure out who caused it & if they might continue to sabotage, while they're figuring out a way to get back on course with limited resources
flips between present and the past: of her childhood and training for the mission, her identity struggles, and relationship with her mother
questions the ethics of ‘restarting’ humanity elsewhere vs putting resources into fixing earth
"But, should you be doing something like that? She's originally your bride, isn't she?"
"Correction. She was supposed to be one. The throne was usurped on the first day of the wedding, however."
Oh, I see. So, it's that sort of development? I felt just a bit relieved now.
Han Sooyoung and Yoo Joonghyuk as a couple? <Kim Dokja's Company> hadn't allowed any dating at the workplace yet, so hell no.
You're having a very interesting reaction to the thought of Sooyoung and Joonghyuk imaginary dating in a scenario, Dokja.
Very interesting.
And why are you so upset that 1863rd Sooyoung gave Joonghyuk information that she didn't give you? You literally have your own copy of TWSA, why would Sooyoung think you needed her diary on top of that? She gave you a bunch of overpowered items.
...Considering he literally, once again, just got done mentally gushing about how gorgeous and amazing and talented Joonghyuk is, I'm not certain which of them he's more jealous of.
Currently hating myself and every word composed by my fingers, but I'm pushing through to get to the hopefully more interesting part.
Anyway, some headcanons regarding teen Hector and his relationships with the Tepes family coming from my WIP.
~
As soon as Hector earned his title and could stand equal to Isaac, Lord Dracula became his formal mentor, and kept a closer eye on him and his progress. He was a beast of a man, whose power and authority radiated from him and sent ghastly chills on Hector’s skin from the door of his throne room; however, despite how tiny Hector felt in his presence, his deep voice soothed his fears, and urged him to listen to him. Lord Dracula had little need for words: a nod, a tugged corner of his mouth, a hand on Hector’s shoulder that barely scratched him with his claws, the smallest acknowledgment was enough to make Hector’s knees tremble and fill his chest with emotions he had no name for, new sensations that he couldn’t get enough of.
His wife, Lady Lisa, was a more affectionate woman. She’d approach him delicately, bending forward to talk to him eye-to-eye in the same tone Hector used with his animal friends. Whenever she spoke to him, he’d bite his lip and look at his own feet and wait until she got tired of him and walked away and then he’d have to wait until his heart slowed down. Lady Lisa wasn’t scary like her husband, but he still had the instinct to protect his Devils from her, in case she got angry with him and killed them.
He was more comfortable around Prince Adrian, whenever he was alone. The dhampir boy seemed to dislike having to use words, which suited Hector just fine. He had no interest in the art of Forging either, which meant he gave the laboratory a wide berth, but Hector often found him huddled in remote corners of the library, nose buried in some book about medicine. He, too, had a Fairy friend to keep him company, bigger and more vivacious than Hector’s own; she’d sing with her tiny voice for her young Master, and the sound helped Hector studying the increasingly confusing material, bestiaries and grimoires about demonology written in discolored ink bound to give him a headache in less than an hour. But Prince Adrian would startle and run off as soon as he’d hear Isaac barge in looking for Hector (a full minute before the boy actually made his presence known: he couldn't manage to catch him by surprise), and he’d spend too much time hidden behind his mother’s skirts, which made Hector wrinkle his nose in confusion.
hi cheye! i just wanted to let you know that i'm pulling for you. i love your artwork, remember that you deserve good things.
thank u! this particular goal/event is surrounded by a lot of mixed emotions from the outside but is something that would ultimately better my life... everybody give me ur good energy pleaag 🧿🧿🧿
chapter 1 (prologue): do-re-ti, why not me?
word count: 8,871
Cast wayward of the protruding, pitch-black hallway’s end, a single fluorescent light flickers in butterfly tempo, buzzing unremittingly. Ellis has been here prior to this moment; an ending to an abstruse labyrinth of twists and turns, of purple-hued orbs belonging to silhouetted figures just inches out of familiarity’s reach that pursue him relentlessly with seemingly no real reward. Their intentions are malefic, though. Despite them never speaking a word over warbled shrieks, he can tell that much. Like a deeply-rooted primal instinct pitted deeply in the gut, a sinking kind of feeling when you read something harrowing.
Intermittently, Ellis has been able to graduate from the depths of the maze (granted he isn’t caught first), arriving in this same spot every time. With feet planted forward, blinded to naught but the black-and-white checkered path willing him on, just like the instance prior. And the one before that. He knows it well, but it feels like a location in his house that he’d never known to exist before a sudden discovery. Like the time Ellis figured out his dad had his own secret bathroom in the basement. He was more bemused about how his dad managed to even keep it quiet more than anything, whilst his chagrined mother simply soothed her temples and stalked up the creaky wooden staircase, murmuring something about needing a smoothie.
Just like the hidden bathroom in the basement, there had to be something intangible to describe how it felt to be here. There just had to be.
