ok yknow what i’m gonna say it

no matter how “bad” logan has been or how “little” he deserves this 2nd year or how he’s a “pay driver” or whatever else y’all always say

he doesn’t deserve this. any of this

since the very first moment he stepped in a f1 car, he’s been treated as a joke. first it was the wtf is a kilometre jokes then rah rah eagles and now logan in the wall / fork found in kitchen / deuxmoi memes. every weekend, the commentators compare him to his teammate, ignoring the difference in experience and the way they aren’t even driving the same car and that logan was literally running last years specs multiple times. they compare him to oscar, who has driven multiple times f1 cars during test runs and is in a mclaren and the situations are not even remotely similar, ignoring that logan was promoted early, that he didn’t have much opportunity to drive f1 cars even for testing, that he was literally tossed into the deep end without any help and told to survive.

the only time they were even remotely kind to him was when they gave his car to alex. which thanks for the support or whatever but that is so backhanded i don’t even have the words to describe it.

i think we’re all coming to the terms with the reality that this will be his last year in f1. and i don’t think that’s fair for so many reasons. you promote him early, you give him a shit car, you talk bad about him in the media and you don’t promote him (lap of legends hello?) and you openly court other drivers for his seat. you disrespect him and allow others to disrespect him and that’s not right.

formula 1 is the dream for so many people. imagine achieving your dream, even if it’s in a joke of a team, even if it’s too early. but then you become the joke of a joke, you become the american, which is a bad thing. the outsider, the one who doesn’t belong. they make fun of you each weekend. they ask every day when you’ll be replaced.

(and yeah i agree. he does need to improve to have any hope of keeping his seat, f1 is brutal and it’s never been kind, and i’m not being naive and thinking oh it’s his dream and so he deserves it despite it all. i’m not saying that. what i am saying is that is a human being, just like nicholas latifi was, and some of you are too comfortable being cruel.)

speaking of being the american. they make fun of you as though that will punish the fia for putting 3 us races on the calendar. as though that will punish all the american fans who came to f1 through drive to survive. as though that will keep f1 pure and european and whatever the fuck else - they do the same to yuki and zhou and checo and lewis and even if logan’s situation is not even remotely similar to what they’ve experienced, there’s a bias to f1 that cannot be ignored.

but that’s not the point i’m trying to make. not today

this was your dream. this was your dream. and you were never allowed to enjoy it because you became the punchline of a joke the minute you accepted the seat. it was always going to end like this. you knew that.

so yeah. congrats to logan for achieving his dream of driving in f1! it’s unfortunate that he was never allowed to live it.

On episode two (there is way more than two but since I started this blog) of Logan Sargeant deserves better he is having to drive Alex’s repaired chassis rather than his own car at the Japanese grand prix.

Now I have took today to do a lot of research on this and here is my thoughts.

Initially I thought that this must mean there is a problem with the repaired chassis, it may be fit to race but not as strong as the one that has not been sent full throttle into the barrier at turn 15 in Melbourne. This makes sense, of course the chassis wouldn’t be as good they have had two weeks to repair it.

And Williams have made it perfectly clear that they will always prioritise Alex. He is their golden boy. Their points scorer. So even though he does not deserve any of the hate he gets whatsoever they will ultimately sacrifice Logan’s chances in order to give him the best chance of scoring points.

Now, on the other hand Alex’s components are still attached to Logan’s original chassis. They would have to put time and effort into taking it off, putting it on the repaired chassis and putting Logan’s components back on. Time that Williams could be dedicating to making a spare chassis to make sure this problem doesn’t happen again.

However, they were clearly able to do this in Melbourne on short notice. But even further than this, this problem could have been entirely avoidable if they let Logan drive his own car in the first place, they still wouldn’t be facing repercussions.

They clearly know this is controversial as well. Williams themselves have not officially announced it and have now done the social media damage control of happy Logan photos and posts with captions along the lines of “team 👊”. Which is not only highly predictable but also exactly what they did in Australia. It doesn’t work.

okay so. overall!! and i’d love to know your thoughts on this logan….. i firmly believe that satoru is the type to love one single person for the rest of his life. he never moves on from them. once someone has earned his love and nestled their way into his heart they’re there to stay. (and i’d argue that it’s kinda supported by canon yk… satoru hanging on to his memories of youth/suguru no matter how much time passes :’3)… so!! yeah!!! i definitely think he’d stay in love with his bestie forever, even if he knew fully well his feelings wouldn’t be returned. that’s just my take though!!!

i thinkkkk the tricky part is just. how satoru feels about it. a part of me wants to say that he handles it decently, that he’s happy just to be around you… but i think it’s also natural for him to feel a little empty about it all. bc he truly is!! a loverboy!!! deep down he yearns so badly for intimacy :(((( satoru is just such a pro at isolating himself and i think it gets worse in this kind of scenario. he loves you but does keep a certain distance i think…. to make it easier for himself and also so he doesn’t mess anything up for you. but he can never keep himself away for too long……

ok so we’re circling back to sugu now. i think satoru would handle the situation a lot better if suguru and you were together. my stsg-infested brain just can’t imagine an au where he isn’t at least a little bit in love with suguru…. and i think seeing two people he loves and trusts with all his heart be together doesn’t bother him nearly as much as it would have if you were with a random third party. there’s this One quote i like from . um….. a voice actor. of a character. in… ohshc 👉👈 AND I JUST THINK IT FITS IN THIS SCENARIO OK…….. :’3

I think Kyoya is very much in love with Tamaki and with Haruhi. He’s very much in love with the both of them. And I think it matures to a point where he would much prefer to see the both of them together than him with either one. Because they make more sense together than he makes with anybody else.

i think that’s sort of how he’d feel!!! there’s a kind of maturity there that satoru has imo. and since he’s so close to both of you, he doesn’t have to worry about being pushed out of your life (which might be his biggest worry in a scenario where you’re together with a random third party)…… so. yeah!!! would it be angsty? yes ofc. but i rlly do see satoru as a mature character, and also often selfless!!! he just respects you and your choices so much :(((

……….. what i will say. is that if you happened to get together with someone who didn’t treat you well. he would Shut That Shit Down instantly <3333 we love angry protective satoru !!!!!!!!

👻 What is one WIP you think you may never pick back up?

ok 👻 and 👀 feel like the same question to me so i'm gonna try interpreting it differently. i have so many wips that i KNOW its probably impossible for me to finish all of them. i haven't touched het!loscar, lesbian!gax or toxic!callum/marcus in a while. they all mean so much to me and i try not to feel overwhelmed with the anxiety of whether they'll ever be finished.

i posted about this before but i saw this interview where chappell roan said she took 3 years to finish red wine supernova (a song i LOVE) and it gives me a lot of relief that taking a long time isn't an art killer. acosi also took forever (mainly bc of bad time management) and that still worked out so well so it's been important to keep that in mind as well.

i also think it's important to remember that abandoned unfinished fics aren't a personal failure!!! anything i write is valuable for my skill development and journey as a writer.

i hope the wips i mentioned do get finished!!! but if they dont thats ok and it's a good mindset for me to practice~

Maxton Hall Stars Harriet Herbig-Matten & Damian Hardung Dish on Prime Video Romance | Interview

Interesting interview. A few observations.

As I already knew, they are both very proficient in English - Damian probably a bit more than Harriet.

Damian is clearly a lot more comfortable being interviewed than Harriet is - Harriet is moving around a lot, playing with her hair, putting herself at weird angles ... I think they're probably both totally freaked out / overwhelmed by the unexpected popularity of the show. As soon as I saw the show the first time on the 9th, I had had a feeling that the show was going to be a lot bigger than they expected and had wondered how the cast were going to cope

Harriet is clearly going to struggle a bit in her responses about the character of Ruby.

On the one hand, the interviewers are going to want to pursue a - this is so romantic they should be together storyline, but clearly Harriet herself believes the relationship is pretty toxic and I think she feels uncomfortable advocating it - which I totally understand in this day and age.

In the presser, she even said that she felt a bit lost / subsumed/subordinate to the James character and had to detox for a few days post-filming - even Damian looked a bit taken aback by that admission.

She's going to have a lot more of these interviews so I hope she manages to come to a comfortable position where she can be a bit more comfortable with them.

I think she ended up with a good answer at the end - that Ruby falls in love with the good / emotional side of James and not the toxic. I think that's where I landed on the relationship, too - she not only was the catalyst for change in him, but James himself had some good elements within him already and he was responsible for also making himself change, not just relying on Ruby

I'm older than a lot of the fandom / target demographic for this show so I still remember the days of Veronica Mars and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The VM show runners and the main actress did not like the fact that the fans loved Veronica & Logan the reformed bad boy so much. Similarly with Buffy, the lead actress the show runner didn't like the fact that so many fans liked Spike / Buffy. The problem was, the actors and characters had such chemistry that it was difficult to move away from that and so they were faced with a quandary. Attempts to move the main female character towards a more wholesome male were usually unsuccessful and interview comments that disparaged a popular ship were also challenging. It will be interesting to see how Maxton Hall navigates a similar quagmire.

Given that this has been an unexpected runaway hit, I can't imagine that they won't have a season 2. I just hope that they maintain the quality and don't make it like all the other bland, generic teen romances on offer ...

Random thought - I wonder how Damian would have handled a role like eg Kieran.
