monster mash!
SYNOPSIS: in which you go on a pumpkin patch date with your boyfriends!
pairing: : poly!ot5 x gn!member!reader (no gender mentioned, but written with male reader in mind) word count: 1.8k+ genre: enough fluff to heal my soul permanently warnings: cringe? overly affectionate? a changbin joke (in good fun i love him) mayhaps very american view of pumpkin patches,, queers,, etc
AUTHORS NOTE: soooo... yeah i've been gone a WHILE. i would say a lot has been going on but that would lowkey be a lie. i just sort of lost the motivation to... do anything really LOL,,, but i hope u guys have not forgotten abt me!!! i may be a tad rusty, these may be a tad out of character, i may be a tad terrified of posting this. moral of the story, hope u enjoy, i've missed u guys.
fall has always been your favorite time of year. the orange falling leaves, slight chill in the air, and the pumpkin flavored treats never failed to enthrall you. but, being a kpop idol comes with its downsides. the main one: no time off.
and so, you spent every halloween practicing with your members, filming to do specials and squeezing in a singular mini chocolate bar in secret at the end of the night. in many ways, it was depressing. but what the emptiness left behind was love.
you and your members had slowly begun a relationship. in the beginning, it was out of sheer desperation and loneliness. a quickie to get you through a long schedule. but, throughout your years together, all six of you had fallen in love. and today, you were finally getting some time off, and what better way to spend a chilly autumn day than at a pumpkin patch. finally, you had all crammed into the van you’d usually used for traveling between schedules, except today, there were snacks strewn about, no chauffer, yeonjun took that job, blankets and jokes.
“guys, what if we lose soobin in the corn maze, he’ll look just like the scare actors!” beomgyu loudly exclaimed mockingly over the hum of the engine and radio blasting music.
soobin, in the passenger seat beside yeonjun, simply turned to look at gyu. squinted eyes and lips fighting a smile dawned his face.
“guys!” soobin repeated, mimicking beomgyu, “what if we lose beomgyu in the pumpkin patch, he’ll look just like the pumpkins!” huening kai loudly burst into laughter, clapping his hands together.
beomgyu, who was sitting next to you, let his jaw drop in shock. he picked up a bag of chips and hurled it at soobins face, to which the entire van erupted into laughter and claps.
soobin turned once more, “y/n! restrain him!”
you laughed reaching out to wiggle your fingers into beomgyu’s sides, to which he squirmed and loudly squealed.
“ah! stop! i thought you loved me!” beomgyu loudly protested through his laughs.
after much reprimanding from yeonjun for being too loud, soobin delivered a chaste kiss to yeonjun’s cheek. everyone pretended not to see the blush. it wasn’t long until you felt a small tap on your shoulder. you turn to see one of your boyfriends, huening kai. he was dawned in his brown star sweater, black hair all strewn his forehead. he looked like if fall and spring had a child, and if they had named it after their hopes to become summer.
he points to a nintendo ds in his hand, and then glances to the empty seat next to him. you smile at his sheepish request, and climb over the seats to collapse next to him. he immediately covers you up with a blanket, and you lean your head on his shoulder. almost instantaneously, you are enthralled by his soft, deep voice muttering to you his actions on the pokemon game displayed on his screen. you wrap your arms around his, snuggling into him as you slowly close your eyes.
———
when you awaken, you notice that what once was a soft, brown sweater, is now a tan colored shirt. you don’t need to look up to know who it is. you let out a soft hum, and taehyun smiles to himself. he softly shrugs the shoulder you lay on, coaxing you to lift your head. once you concede, you realize the rest of the van is empty.
“we’re five minutes away,” tae says softly. “but beomgyu was gonna shit his pants, so we stopped here. everyone else is getting snacks.” your tired brain takes longer than usual to deduce that you have arrived at a gas station, but once you do, you look back at tae.
“you didn’t want to get off?” you ask, voice deeper than usual from sleep.
tae shakes his head, reaching to you and fixing a stray hair gently.
“wanted to spend some time with you, even if you were asleep.” he says sheepishly, and you internally aw. he leans forward, his bright black eyes glancing down to your lips. you let your lips brush for a moment before taking control, jerking your head forward to close your lips around his. he lets out a deep breath, as though he had been without air for years. you smile against his lips, and allow yourself to get lost for moment.
“guys, stop being gay.” you hear beomgyu say from the open van door. tae separates himself from you, smiling widely, eyes crinkling around his shiny eyes.
you turn to gyu, “if you want a kiss too, just say that.”
“what if i do? i sat next to you on purpose, you know. but then you moved!” beomgyu whines out, to which you chuckle. he was only sated after about 5 kisses and two cheek squeezes.
———
when you all finally arrive at your destination, you were welcomed in by a large “fall pumpkin festival” sign in large, blocky letters printed on a wooden sign.
you pile out of the car, soobin immediately floating to your side and slipping his pinky to wrap around yours. you all slowly figure out where you are meant to go, and begin walking up a quaint gravel path. at the entrance, you were immediately bombarded with the sounds and sights. giant bouncy houses, food trucks, carnival games, corn mazes, even pig races were all at your disposal. immediately, you all gravitated towards the small race course that winded up tiny ramps and around small obstacles.
gyu points at one of the pigs grazing, “look, it’s bang pd!” soobin immediately brings a finger to his mouth, signaling to gyu to stop talking as you all giggled.
“i say the one with black spots is gonna win,” you declare, pointing at the small pig who was currently sniffing his own poop.
“no, the pink ones gonna win.” soobin declared, “he’s bigger.”
“wouldn’t bigger mean he moves slower?” tae mentioned, and soon, you were divided, three vs three, on which pig was gonna win. you, tae, and gyu on the side of the black spotted pig, which you had affectionately named ppulverse pt 2. soobin, yeonjun, and kai on the side of the pink one, whom they had named changbin. when the race had finally begun, you all cheered obnoxiously loud for your respective pigs. ppulverse pt. 2 fell at one point, and gyu dramatically fell to his knees in utter disappointment. it was safe to say that it wasn’t hard for changbin to win. your team pouted as yeonjun, kai, and soobin all exchanged celebratory kisses and pats on the back.
“how does it feel to LOSE!” said yeonjun as he pointed at your dejected faces.
“i’m never fucking you ever again.” you said with a monotone, to which kai once again laughed and clapped.
yeonjun simply laughed with a cocky smile. “aren’t i the one doing the fucking?” he whispers to tae.
soon after, you all decided to try your hand at apple bobbing. and then you were painting your ppulbatu’s on pumpkins and buying them for an absurd amount of money. yeonjun decided to try his hand at a strong arm competition. lets just say, kai gave him lots of ‘you tried your best’ kisses.
“it’s getting dark, lets go into the corn maze.” kai suggested, and you all simultaneously stopped walking. he let out a soft hum in confusion.
“im not doing that.” taehyun immediately protested, and immediately all the other members agreed. except for you.
you sigh, shuffling your feet. “i’ll do it on the condition that i get funnel cake beforehand.” kai smiles, reaching up and doing a salute motion with his hand. kai ordered the cake as yeonjun decided to “prove” himself by winning you a fox plushie.
“watch, baby, watch your sexy boyfriend!” he loudly exclaimed, and you covered your face in embarrassment. he paid the man behind the stand five dollars, and received five rings in exchange. you lingered behind him as he lined up his shot, and tossed them into the rows of empty bottles one by one. as though suddenly possessed by an athletically capable alcoholic, the rings perfectly lined up with every single bottle.
“are you proud?” he asked as he handed you the large plushie.
“very!” you say happily, pressing a kiss to his plush pink lips. by the time you returned to the rest of the boys, they had already begun digging into the funnel cake. you sat down, sitting the plushie next to you as though he were a person. all the members immediately mutter soft ‘woaaahhh’’s at yeonjun’s accomplishment.
finally, after much picking at the cake in slow motion to stall, you had to venture into the corn maze. junnie, soobin, gyu and tae all sat on a hay bale near the entrance to the maze as they hyped you up. the fox plushie in one hand, and kai’s sleeve in the other, you both slowly walked into the maze.
kai walked as though he were walking through a mall at midday. meanwhile, you were practically pulling off his sweater by the sheer grip you had on him. the first scare actor noticed you guys before you noticed them. they took note of your apparent fear, and targeted you instead of kai.
right as you were walking by, a man dressed as a zombie launched out of the corn maze and shouted in your face. you screamed bloody murder, stumbling back into kai and covering your face with your plushie. kai immediately laughed, and you smacked him as he practically dragged you to continue walking. you kept your eyes on the actor as you walked farther and farther away.
the next scare actor targeted kai, determined to make the unfazed man crack. she was dressed as a pilgrim, with a giant axe stuck inside the front of her skull. she jumped out, grabbing her head axe and yanking it out of herself, before maniacally swinging it at you and kai. you, once again, screamed out, pulling kai backwards by his sweater and shaking. kai simply stepped back, letting the woman’s manic behavior come to a halt before laughing to himself and continuing on his way, you in tow.
the woman stopped her acting as you left her sight, letting her axe get stuck back in her head and turning to the zombie actor, shrugging.
for the rest of the maze, all of the actors were targeting kai, desperately trying to get him to so much as flinch, blink, anything! ironically, the only person they managed to scare every time was you. after what felt like an eternity, you finally looped around to the entrance, and saw your boys all chit chatting. you sprinted out of the maze, pulling kai behind you and immediately shouting about what had happened. you described every single scare as kai hugged you, and the rest of the members diligently listened to your maniacal rambling.
despite the scares, you were comforted in the simple fact that no matter how dark or scary a place may be, your boys would always be there to listen.
and so as you snuggled into the van once more, next to tae once more, you smiled to yourself. fall was finally your favorite season again.
there is a taglist! if u want to be on it, put in an ask :3

Bunny - Health Ledger!Joker x Fem!Reader
(Part 4)
Pairing: Joker x Fem!Reader
Joker x Reader with Anxiety
Word Count: 9892
Warnings: Joker, lol
Summary: Poor Y/n let herself go while Joker was locked up, now she's sick and Joker's goons have to look after her
A/N: Took a while to get this one out (shocking) but got it done! a bit on the shorter side of my other fics, but I didn't really have much for this part, it's more of a little fun one
(Laptop was playing up again, so had to post from my phone, will fix later)
Hope you enjoy this part 💚
-
It had been an agonising week without Joker. Normally, this wouldn't have been a cause for concern, disappearing for stretches of time was just something he did. But this time was different. This time, she knew he was in trouble, and the weight of that knowledge pressed down on her like a vice. Her anxiety, already a constant companion, had become an unbearable storm of worry and dread.
The news outlets seized every opportunity to cover the story of Joker being locked up, using every scrap of information. While the police remained tight-lipped, determined to withhold key details, the public had ways of uncovering the truth.
Grainy cell phone footage of Joker in a shitty holding cell circulated online, and rumours spread like wildfire. Everyone seemed to have an opinion, their voices merging into a deafening roar that only added to Y/n’s unease.
Every time she passed a television or scrolled through her phone, there it was, his face plastered across the screen. Headlines blared about his arrest, speculating on his motives, his crimes, and what the authorities planned to do with him. Each broadcast felt like a punch to the gut, a painful reminder that he was out there, caged, while she was here, powerless to do anything about it.
She was surprised to see that his makeup was still intact. Whether the authorities hadn’t bothered to remove it or had tried and failed, it didn’t matter. His face remained as she remembered it, boldly painted and defiant, other than little empty patches here and there. Oddly enough, it brought her a small sense of comfort, a reminder that even in their custody, he was still him.
She couldn’t eat. Couldn’t sleep. Her mind replayed their last moments together over and over, dissecting every detail, searching for some sign, anything, that he had a plan to get out of this. Because he always had a plan…didn’t he?
Y/n paced her small apartment, her nails chewed down to the quick, her phone clutched tightly in her hand. She considered calling someone, Rocco, maybe, but what would she say? Who could she trust? And even if she found someone to talk to, what could they do?
The uncertainty gnawed at her. Joker’s absence wasn’t just a void in her life, it was a ticking time bomb, and she was terrified of what might happen when it finally exploded.
The days dragged on, blurring together as Y/n confined herself to her room. She couldn’t bring herself to do much of anything. Her appetite was nonexistent, and the thought of eating made her stomach churn. The only thing she consumed was water, and even that was more out of necessity than care.
The once-cozy space she called home felt suffocating, the walls seeming to close in on her. Her bed became her constant companion, the blankets pulled around her like armour against the world outside. She hadn’t bothered to tidy up or even open the curtains. The room was dark, lit only by the faint glow of her phone screen.
Her reflection in the mirror told a story of exhaustion, dark circles under her eyes, her skin pale and dull. She felt as though the weight of her worry for Joker had physically anchored her to the bed.
She didn’t want to see anyone. Avoiding her friends, ignoring texts, and letting her phone calls go unanswered, she kept herself isolated. Leaving her room felt pointless when her mind was consumed by thoughts of him.
Her chest tightened every time the news flickered on in her head, imagining the cold, sterile cell he was probably in. It was a mental loop she couldn’t break out of, and it left her drained.
Y/n’s neglect of herself was becoming painfully obvious, the toll on her body undeniable. Her once-vibrant complexion had turned discoloured and lifeless, dark shadows lingering beneath her hollow eyes. Her cheekbones were more pronounced, the lack of proper nourishment leaving her looking gaunt and fragile.
Her energy levels had plummeted. Even simple tasks like standing up or walking across the room left her feeling lightheaded and weak. Her muscles ached from lying in bed for so long, and her legs felt shaky when she did manage to pull herself up.
The dehydration was catching up with her, despite the water she drank. Her lips were cracked, her skin dry and rough to the touch. Her hair hung limp and dull, reflecting the lifelessness she felt inside.
Her immune system stretched thin from stress and lack of sustenance, left her vulnerable to every chill in the air. She must have developed a slight fever that she didn’t have the strength to care about, brushing off the sweat on her brow as just another inconvenience.
Y/n’s body was screaming for help, yet her mind remained fixated on Joker. It was as if she’d become a shadow of herself, physically and mentally drained, all because the one person she cared about most was out of her reach.
Y/n lay sprawled on her bed, her body heavy with exhaustion. Her arms felt like lead, barely able to reach the half-empty water bottle sitting on her bedside table. Her fingers brushed against it weakly, but even the small effort was too much. She let out a soft, defeated sigh, her dry lips barely parting.
Her gaze, blurred and unfocused, was fixed on the ceiling when the creak of her door made her heart skip. She thought it was just another trick of her mind, her exhaustion had caused her to hallucinate sounds before. But this time, shadows fell across the dim room, and she slowly turned her head.
Her vision was too poor to make out details, the figures were just dark blurs against the soft glow of the hallway light. Panic fluttered in her chest. Was she dreaming? Or had her mind finally cracked? She blinked hard, trying to clear her sight, but the figures remained.
Then one of them stepped closer, and a familiar, gravelly voice filled the room. “Boss sent us,” Rocco said simply, his tone gruff yet somehow grounding.
Y/n’s breath hitched. It wasn’t a hallucination. These were real people, they were in her room. She managed to push herself up on trembling arms, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. How had they gotten in? The door was locked...wasn’t it? How fucking shit was this dorm’s security?
Her bleary eyes darted to the second figure, standing just behind Rocco. She didn’t recognise him, this one was new. He stayed silent, his broad frame looming in the doorway, while Rocco stepped closer.
“Damn, kid,” Rocco muttered, his voice softer now as he looked her over. “You look like hell.”
Y/n didn’t respond, her throat dry and her mind too foggy to form words. All she could do was stare at them, trying to process what was happening.
The realization hit her like a jolt. Joker. Was he okay? Did he send them to check on her? Did this mean… he was still out there? Her hands gripped the sheets beneath her tightly, desperate for answers, but too weak to demand them.
Rocco stepped closer, crouching down so his face was level with hers. His sharp features softened slightly as he took in her dishevelled state. “You’re not taking care of yourself,” he muttered, a mix of irritation and concern in his voice. “Boss wouldn’t like this. He sent us here to make sure you’re still kickin’.”
Y/n blinked slowly, her head swimming with questions, but the mention of Joker made her heart clench. Her lips moved, though no sound came out at first. She swallowed hard, wincing at the dryness in her throat before croaking, “Joker...?”
The second man, the one she didn’t recognise, stepped forward now, his arms crossed. His gaze flicked over her like he was assessing her condition. “He’s fine,” the man said curtly. “But he’s got…other things to handle right now.”
Rocco shot the man a look, clearly annoyed by his lack of tact. “What he means,” Rocco said, his tone more measured, “is that the Boss can’t exactly walk through your front door right now. So, he sent us. He wanted us to check in, make sure you’re okay, and…” He hesitated, glancing back at the other man before sighing. “...and make sure you get back on your feet.”
Y/n felt a rush of emotions, relief that Joker was alive, frustration at her own helplessness, and confusion about why these two were standing in her room like they belonged there. “How…how did you get in?” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Rocco smirked faintly. “Lock wasn’t much of a challenge,” he said, jerking a thumb at the other man. “Frankie here’s got a knack for getting through doors. Don’t worry, though. We’re not here to cause trouble.”
Frankie, so that was the name of the stranger, gave a curt nod but said nothing. His presence felt imposing, but he didn’t seem hostile.
Y/n tried to sit up straighter, her body protesting with every movement. Her head swam as she forced out another question. “Why…why did he send you?”
Rocco reached over to the bedside table, grabbed her water bottle and handed it to her. “Boss cares about you, kid,” he said, his voice a little softer now. “More than you probably realise. He doesn’t like the idea of you wasting away while he’s out there handling business. Said if you don’t start taking care of yourself, he’ll have to come sort you out himself. And trust me, you don’t want that.”
Y/n took the bottle with shaky hands, her eyes wide as she processed his words. The thought of Joker sending these two to check on her, even while he was dealing with his own problems, made her chest tighten. He cared. In his own chaotic, unpredictable way, he cared.
Rocco stood up, brushing off his knees. “We’re here to help, alright? Whether you like it or not. So, drink up and get moving. Boss wouldn’t want you like this.”
Y/n hesitated, then took a small sip of the water. It was lukewarm and tasted metallic, but it was the first thing she’d managed to drink properly in days. She nodded faintly, her voice still weak but determined. “Okay.”
Rocco’s patience quickly wore thin as he watched Y/n take another feeble sip of water and sink back into the mattress. “Alright, that’s it,” he said firmly, straightening up and rolling his shoulders like he was preparing for a task he didn’t particularly enjoy. “You’re coming with us. Boss’s orders.”
Y/n’s eyes widened, panic flickering in them. “What? I can’t–” she stammered, but before she could finish, Rocco leaned down and grabbed her arm gently but insistently.
“You don’t get a say in this, sweetheart,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. “Boss wants you outta this bed, and that’s what’s happening.”
The other man, Frankie, sighed and moved to the other side of the bed, his expression unreadable but his stance ready to assist. “She’s not exactly in any condition to walk on her own,” he muttered.
“I can tell,” Rocco replied sharply. “That’s why we’re here. Now, up you go.” He pulled her up to a sitting position with surprising care, though his grip was unyielding. Y/n groaned, the motion making her head spin and her stomach churn.
“I can’t…” she whispered, her voice breaking. “I can’t even stand.”
“Don’t even worry about it,” Rocco said as if it were the simplest solution in the world. “But you’re not staying here, wasting away. Boss ’ll have my head if we leave you like this.”
Y/n tried to protest, but before she could, Frankie slipped an arm under her knees and another around her back, lifting her effortlessly out of the bed. She gasped in surprise, her body trembling from the sudden movement.
“Don’t drop me!” she cried weakly, her hands clutching at his shirt.
Frankie scoffed. “Relax.”
Rocco opened the door, stepping out first to make sure the coast was clear. “Move it, Frankie. Let’s get her to the van.”
Frankie carried her out of the room, his movements steady but brisk. The cool air in the hallway hit her like a slap, and her already fragile state made it hard to keep her eyes open. Her head lolled against Frankie’s shoulder as they made their way outside.
The van was parked at the curb, its engine idling softly. Rocco opened the back door, gesturing for Frankie to set her down. “Easy now,” he said, his tone surprisingly soft.
Frankie carefully eased Y/n into the van’s backseat, her body slumping against the upholstery. Rocco climbed in beside her, positioning her so she wouldn’t slide around during the ride. He reached over to buckle her seatbelt, muttering, “Don’t even think about trying to wiggle out of this. Boss ’ll hear about it.”
Y/n didn’t have the energy to argue. Her head rested against the window, her body aching and weak, but somewhere deep down, a flicker of curiosity sparked through the haze of exhaustion. Where was she being taken?
-
The van rumbled to a stop in a dimly lit alleyway, the oppressive gloom of the Narrows seeping in through the windows. Y/n barely stirred, her frail body sagging against the seatbelt. Rocco turned to glance at her, his expression somewhere between irritation and concern.
“We’re here,” he muttered, unbuckling his seatbelt. Frankie was already out of the van, opening the back door and reaching in to unbuckle Y/n.
“C’mon, girl,” Frankie said, his tone gruff but not unkind. “Boss wouldn’t want you sitting out here all night.”
Y/n blinked slowly, her vision still a blur. She didn’t have the strength to protest as Frankie once again lifted her, cradling her like she weighed nothing. The cold night air nipped at her skin as they exited the van.
The building in front of them was dilapidated, its bricks cracked and stained, with faint graffiti scrawled across the lower walls. The windows glowed faintly from inside, casting eerie shadows onto the narrow street.
“An apartment?” Y/n mumbled weakly, her voice barely audible.
“Temporary safe house,” Rocco said curtly, leading the way to the door. “Boss’s orders.”
Frankie adjusted his hold on her as they climbed a narrow, creaking staircase that felt like it might give way at any moment. Y/n groaned softly, her head lolling against Frankie’s chest. The exhaustion in her body made the journey feel endless, each step rattling through her fragile frame.
On the third floor, Rocco stopped in front of a battered door with peeling paint. He fished out a key, unlocking it with a click before pushing it open. The apartment inside was sparse but clean enough, furnished with the basics, a couch, a small table, a kitchenette, and a bed tucked into the corner of the single room.
Frankie carried Y/n inside, laying her carefully on the couch. She let out a faint sigh of relief as her body sank into the mattress, her muscles aching from the short journey. Rocco lingered near the door, crossing his arms as he surveyed the room.
“Not exactly five-star,” Rocco said, his voice tinged with sarcasm. “But it’ll do.”
“Boss said to keep her here and make sure she eats something,” Frankie said, stepping back and stretching his arms. “She looks like she’s about to keel over.”
“Yeah, well, she’s been like that for days, hasn’t she?” Rocco grumbled. “I’ll have a look. Can’t let her starve.”
As Y/n lay on the couch, barely able to keep her eyes open, a thought began to gnaw at the back of her mind. She hadn’t fully processed it before, but now, with Rocco and Frankie’s casual conversation, it became clear.
They were talking about him, Joker, like he was still calling the shots, like he was still in control, even though he was locked up and under 24/7 security. Her heart skipped a beat, a mixture of confusion and curiosity flooding her veins.
The implications of it all settled in her chest, heavy and unsettling. How were they in contact with him? Was he somehow orchestrating everything from behind bars? Was he pulling the strings while locked away, unable to move?
She tried to sit up, her body protesting the movement as if the world around her was spinning. The dizziness from the exertion made her head throb. She let out a shaky breath, trying to focus as she reached for the water bottle beside her. Her fingers trembled as she unscrewed the cap, the cold liquid soothing her parched throat. But the question remained.
How is he still in control? she thought, her mind racing. She hadn’t heard anything about Joker’s escape, nor did it make sense that he could have any influence from inside a high-security facility. So how? How were his goons able to move so freely?
She glanced over at Frankie and Rocco. They didn’t seem concerned, almost like it was business as usual. Rocco was leaning against the wall, checking his phone, and Frankie was off to the side, inspecting the small kitchenette. Neither of them gave any indication that they were afraid or worried about Joker's imprisonment.
Y/n felt a pit in her stomach. Was he that powerful, even locked up? She didn’t know what to believe anymore. The whole situation felt surreal like being stuck in a bad dream.
“He’s always had a plan,” she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible. "He always has a way."
The weight of the situation settled deeper into her chest as she realized that Joker was always three steps ahead. Even now, even when everything seemed to be falling apart, Joker had found a way to keep his reach, his control, intact.
But how much longer could he stay in control from inside a cell? How much longer before something broke? Before she broke?
She closed her eyes, trying to push the fear away, but it lingered. It always did when it came to him.
Rocco reappeared from the kitchen, holding a paper bag that crinkled loudly as he walked toward her. He tossed it onto the table with a heavy thud, then turned back to the cabinets, muttering something to Frankie under his breath. Frankie came over to the couch and crouched in front of Y/n, his gruff face softening just a bit.
“You need to eat, girl. You’re lookin’ worse than a dead man,” he said, pulling out a plastic-wrapped sandwich and a juice box from the bag.
Y/n blinked at the items as if they were foreign. It had been days since she’d eaten anything substantial, and the idea of food felt distant, almost abstract. Still, Frankie didn’t give her much choice.
“Come on,” he said, his tone firm but not unkind. He unwrapped the sandwich for her and held it out. “A few bites, at least. You’re no good to anyone like this.”
Her stomach churned at the thought, but she nodded weakly. With trembling hands, she took the sandwich from him and managed a small bite. The dry bread felt foreign against her tongue, and the first swallow was like pushing a rock down her throat. But then the second bite came easier, and the third after that.
Rocco turned back around, leaning against the counter with a mug of coffee in his hand. “Gotta admit, didn’t expect you to be this far gone,” he said bluntly.
Frankie shot him a warning glare, but Rocco shrugged. “What? She looks like she’s been through hell.”
“She’s been through enough,” Frankie snapped, his voice lower this time. “Just shut up and let her eat.”
Y/n barely registered the exchange, too focused on the sandwich and the juice box that Frankie had handed her. The sweetness of the juice was a shock to her system, waking her up a little more as it soothed her dry throat.
“Better?” Frankie asked after a moment.
Y/n nodded faintly. “Thanks,” she whispered, her voice hoarse.
“Good,” Rocco said, moving closer to the couch. He placed a bottle of water on the table beside her.
“You’ll need your strength. Don’t know what’s comin’ next, but Boss wouldn’t be happy seeing you like this.” Hearing that sent a pang through her chest. Joker.
Even when he wasn’t there, his shadow loomed large, dictating their actions. And here he was, using that power for her. Joker’s influence reached her even now, in her lowest state, orchestrating everything from behind the scenes. As unsettling as it was, a small part of her, a part she didn’t fully understand, felt comforted by it.
-
Y/n lay curled up on the worn couch, her body trembling despite the cheap oil heater buzzing weakly beside her. The warmth it offered was pitiful, barely taking the edge off the icy chill that had settled into her bones. Her skin felt clammy, her breaths uneven, and her forehead was hot to the touch. She was clearly feverish, and even in her half-conscious state, she could feel how badly her body was struggling to fight off the fatigue.
Frankie paced back and forth, running a hand through his greying hair. “She’s shivering like a damn leaf,” he muttered, glancing nervously at Rocco. “What the hell are we supposed to do? I don’t know nothin’ about takin’ care of a sick person!”
Rocco sat slumped in a chair at the dining table, his arms crossed. “What do I look like, a nurse?” he snapped, his frustration barely contained.
He glanced over at Y/n, her frail form looking smaller than ever under the thin blanket draped over her. He let out a long sigh and stood. “Alright, let’s think. Fever, right? You’re supposed to–uh–what? Cool her down? Or warm her up?”
Frankie rolled his eyes. “Both? Neither? Hell if I know! You think I went to med school?” He rubbed at his face, muttering under his breath, “Boss didn’t say nothin’ about this kind of situation.”
Rocco grumbled and approached the couch, peering down at Y/n like she was some fragile, alien creature.
“She’s shakin’ like crazy,” he said, pulling the blanket tighter around her. “What if we just...I dunno...get more blankets? Or turn the heater up?”
He leaned down and gave the old oil heater a hard smack, but it didn’t do much besides rattle noisily. “Piece of shit,” he muttered.
“More blankets?” Frankie echoed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Yeah, great plan, genius. You wanna bury her in a mountain of old fabric and hope for the best? Real top-tier care there, Dr. Rocco.”
He shook his head and started rummaging through the cabinets, clearly searching for something that might help. “Maybe there’s medicine or some kinda first aid kit around here,” he said, opening drawers with loud thuds.
Rocco scowled but didn’t argue. Instead, he grabbed a glass, filled it with water from the sink, and brought it back to the couch. He crouched down beside Y/n, nudging her shoulder gently.
“Hey, girl,” he said awkwardly, his gruffness giving way to something softer. “You gotta drink some water. Can’t let you keel over on us, alright?”
Y/n groaned faintly, her eyes fluttering open just enough to see Rocco’s concerned face hovering above her. “Can’t...move,” she mumbled, her voice weak and barely audible.
Frankie returned, holding up a bottle of aspirin triumphantly. “Found somethin’! Says it’s for fevers,” he declared.
Then he frowned, looking at the label. “Uh...how much do you give someone? One pill? Two?”
“Well, what does the box say?” Rocco grunted.
“I don’t know, the instructions have been worn off,” Frankie said, squinting at the box.
“Just give her one to start. We don’t need to knock her out cold.” He turned back to Y/n and gently pressed the glass to her lips. “Come on, drink,” he coaxed. “It’s just water.”
With effort, Y/n managed a small sip, though most of the water dribbled down her chin. Frankie handed over the aspirin, and Rocco awkwardly placed it in her mouth, tipping the glass again to help her swallow.
When she finally did, Frankie let out a relieved sigh. “Okay, good. That’s somethin’, at least.”
But the two men were clearly out of their depth, and it showed. They stood by the couch like sentries, unsure of their next move.
Frankie scratched his head, mumbling, “We need someone who actually knows what the hell they’re doin’. This ain’t our thing, man.”
Rocco nodded, his usual bravado replaced with a rare flicker of worry. “Yeah, well, until then, we keep her alive. Boss would kill us if somethin’ happened to her.”
He glanced at Y/n, who had already slipped back into a restless sleep. Her shivering continued, even with their clumsy attempts to help. “We gotta figure this out,” he muttered.
Y/n stirred on the couch, her face scrunched up. Frankie, who had been pacing near the window, noticed immediately and groaned.
“Now what?” he asked, throwing his hands in the air.
Y/n grimaced again, her lips twisting in discomfort. “That aspirin…” she murmured, her voice hoarse. “Tasted...weird. Like...really weird.” She made a faint gagging noise and stuck out her tongue, clearly unhappy with whatever lingering aftertaste it left behind.
Frankie narrowed his eyes and turned to Rocco, who was leaning against the wall. “What the hell does she mean, ‘tasted weird’? You gave her somethin’ bad?”
Rocco straightened up, looking offended. “I didn’t make the damn pills, Frankie! I just gave her what you found!”
Frankie stomped over to the kitchen counter where the small box of aspirin sat. Snatching it up, he squinted at the faded label.
“Oh, for crying out loud,” he muttered. “This thing’s...expired! Look at this! Says it went bad two years ago!” He turned the box toward Rocco, jabbing at the tiny print with his finger.
Rocco groaned, running a hand down his face. “You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me,” he muttered. “Who keeps expired meds in their place? Like, throw it out already!”
“Apparently these guys don’t care about restocking the essentials,” Frankie shot back. He threw the box onto the counter with a loud thud. “And now we probably poisoned her on top of everything else!”
“Relax, Frankie,” Rocco said, though he didn’t sound entirely convinced himself. “What’s the worst expired aspirin can do? Lose some of its kick? She ain’t foamin’ at the mouth or anything, is she?”
Y/n, still curled on the couch, managed a weak glare at the two men. “You guys…are terrible at this,” she mumbled.
Frankie sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah, yeah, we get it. We suck at playin’ nursemaids. But cut us some slack, huh? This ain’t exactly what we signed up for when joining Joker’s gang.”
Rocco shook his head, muttering under his breath. “Great. Boss is gonna love hearin’ we gave his girl bad pills. Just perfect.”
Y/n, too tired to engage further, closed her eyes and tried to ignore the bitter taste still lingering in her mouth.
Frankie and Rocco exchanged an exasperated look before Frankie finally grumbled, “Alright, that’s it. No more meds until we double-check this crap. I ain’t takin’ any more chances.”
“Gee, why didn’t I think of that,” Rocco muttered, though the jab lacked its usual bite.
-
Frankie and Rocco stood awkwardly around Y/n, who had drifted back into an uneasy rest on the couch.
Frankie pulled out his phone, scrolling rapidly. “Alright, lemme just Google this fever crap. Can’t be that hard, right?”
Rocco leaned over his shoulder, squinting at the screen. “What’s it say?”
“Uh…” Frankie squinted, reading aloud. “‘Keep them hydrated, plenty of water.’” He gestured at the half-empty glass on the coffee table. “Nailed that one already.”
“Barely,” Rocco muttered, rolling his eyes.
Frankie ignored him and kept reading. “‘Medications to reduce fever.’” He immediately grimaced and shoved his phone in his pocket. “Yeah, no. We ain’t doin’ that shit again.”
“Definitely not,” Rocco agreed, glaring briefly at the expired aspirin box still sitting on the counter.
Frankie pulled his phone back out, tapping on a new link. “Okay, here’s a blog post...‘hot soups help.’ See? We’re getting somewhere!”
Rocco folded his arms, unimpressed. “Hot soup, huh? What’re we supposed to do, whip that up in this dump?”
Frankie snapped his fingers. “Hold up! I saw some canned soup in the cupboard earlier. Gimme a second.”
He shuffled into the kitchen, rummaging through a cabinet, and emerged triumphantly holding a dusty can of chicken noodle soup. “Jackpot!”
Rocco pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing. “Frankie, that thing looks older than the aspirin. You’re not feeding her that.”
“It’s soup! It’s basically immortal,” Frankie argued, waving the can around.
“No,” Rocco said firmly. “You’re not risking Boss’s girl on canned science experiments. Get your ass to the store and buy her some fresh stuff.”
Frankie groaned. “Man, come on! The store’s, like, five blocks away!”
“And?” Rocco crossed his arms, his glare cutting. “Go. And don’t come back with anything cheap.”
Muttering under his breath, Frankie grabbed his coat and stormed toward the door. “This is ridiculous. First a nurse, now a delivery guy. What’s next, a fuckin’ florist?”
Rocco just waved him off, turning back to check on Y/n as Frankie disappeared into the hallway.
Rocco sat down heavily on the chair opposite Y/n, watching her shiver even under the blanket draped over her.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Don’t worry, he’ll be back soon,” he muttered, more to himself than to her.
Y/n stirred slightly, cracking her eyes open. She looked at him, her expression groggy and confused.
“Where’d he go?” she croaked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Rocco leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “Frankie’s gone to grab you some real food. Something to help with the fever.”
Y/n gave a weak nod, closing her eyes again. “Thanks…” The room fell silent except for the faint hum of the oil heater struggling to warm the space.
Rocco glanced at it, frowning. “Piece of junk,” he muttered, standing up to adjust the settings. When it didn’t do much, he huffed in frustration.
-
The door creaked open quietly, and Frankie slipped inside, juggling several heavy grocery bags. Y/n was finally asleep on the couch, bundled up in blankets. Rocco, who had been sitting nearby and keeping watch, stood up and stalked over, his brows furrowed at the sight of the bulging bags.
“What the hell is all this shit?” Rocco hissed, gesturing toward the bags as he took a couple to lighten the load.
Frankie scowled, kicking the door shut behind him. “I don’t know, man. I went to grab some canned soup like you said, but some old lady saw me standing there and decided to get involved.”
Rocco raised a brow. “What do you mean, ‘got involved’?”
Frankie set the bags down on the counter with a grunt. “She started giving me a lecture about how canned soup isn’t good enough for someone sick, then walked me around the store grabbing vegetables and spices and crap. Kept saying, ‘Make her a proper soup.’ I don’t even know what the hell that means!”
Rocco stared at him, then at the bags now spilling over with carrots, celery, onions, and random herbs. He pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a long sigh. “You mean to tell me, instead of just heating up a can, we now gotta make soup from scratch?”
Frankie shrugged helplessly. “Apparently. Look, she was scary, okay? You try saying no to someone’s grandma when she’s lecturing you in the middle of the store.”
Rocco jaw hung open, looking at Frankie. “You have a gun..you’re 6 foot fucking something…and some little old lady scared you into making soup..”
“Hey man, I ain’t never gon’ mess with an old lady…besides, she had a heart of gold,” Frankie pouted, looking absolutely ridiculous.
Rocco muttered a string of curses under his breath as he started unpacking the bags. “Great. Just great. Now we’re chefs.”
“Hey, you’re the one who said to get her the good stuff,” Frankie shot back, grabbing a knife and a cutting board. “Guess this is what the good stuff looks like.”
Rocco glared at the pile of ingredients like it had personally offended him. Fine. Let’s get this over with. But if you screw this up, you’re eating it.”
Together, they fumbled their way through prepping the vegetables, with a hastily Googled recipe on Frankie’s phone that neither of them could agree on.
“This one says dice the carrots, but what the hell is a dice? Like cubes?” Frankie squinted at the screen.
“Cubes? What are we, making toys? Just chop the damn things,” Rocco shot back, already wielding a knife like it was a weapon. He hacked at an onion, the uneven pieces scattering across the cutting board.
Frankie grabbed a stalk of celery, holding it whole above the pot. “Do you think we can just throw these in as is? I mean, they’ll, like…dissolve, right?”
Rocco stared at him in horror and swatted the celery out of his hands. “What the hell are you doing? You can’t just chuck that in like a log! Cut it into pieces!”
“Okay, okay, relax,” Frankie grumbled, fumbling for the knife and hacking at the celery with no regard for uniformity.
Rocco groaned, snatching the knife from him. “That’s not cutting, that’s mangling. You’re lucky she’s too sick to care what this looks like.”
It took twice as long as it should have, with constant interruptions of “Is this small enough?” and “Are you sure that goes in the pot?”
Eventually, they managed to get all the vegetables chopped into vaguely even pieces. By the time they added everything to the pot, they were both sweating and grumbling.
Frankie stirred the mixture triumphantly. “Alright, that wasn’t so bad.”
Rocco glanced over his shoulder at the recipe still open on the phone. His face fell. “You idiot. Did you even read the part where it says this has to simmer for two hours?”
Frankie froze, spoon in hand. “You’re kidding.”
“Nope. Two hours. Minimum.” Rocco threw his hands in the air. “We’re gonna be here all night.”
Frankie groaned, slumping against the counter. “How does anyone have the patience for this? I should’ve just stuck with the canned stuff.”
“Yeah, but now we’re committed,” Rocco grumbled, crossing his arms.
He eyed the bubbling pot, already dreading the wait. Despite their frustrations, neither of them said it out loud, but they both felt a little satisfaction in knowing they’d gone the extra mile. After all, they weren’t doing this for themselves.
-
The soup had finally been left to simmer, and the two men sat at the small table in the corner of the apartment, exhausted from their makeshift cooking adventure. Rocco had his arms crossed, leaning back in the chair, while Frankie tapped his fingers against the table impatiently.
“How long’s it been?” Frankie asked.
“Fifteen minutes.”
“You’re kidding me.”
“Nope.”
Frankie groaned and leaned forward, resting his head on the table. “We should’ve just bought one of those instant soups. Heat it, serve it, done. Why did I listen to some random old lady?”
Rocco shot him a look. “Because you don’t have a spine, Frankie.”
The soft sound of mumbling caught their attention, and they both turned toward the couch. Y/n was stirring, her eyes fluttering open briefly before closing again. She shifted slightly, curling up tighter under the blanket.
“Think she’s gonna wake up?” Frankie whispered.
“Not if we’re lucky,” Rocco replied, though his gaze lingered on her pale face, still marked with exhaustion.
A faint bubbling noise came from the kitchen, and Frankie bolted up. “Crap, is it boiling over?”
They rushed to the pot like a couple of amateur chefs, Frankie grabbing the spoon to stir while Rocco adjusted the heat.
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” Rocco muttered, glaring at the pot as if daring it to betray them.
Frankie stirred a few more times before stepping back, looking genuinely relieved. “Okay, I think we’ve got it under control. Now what?”
“Now we wait. Again,” Rocco said, rubbing his face. He glanced toward the couch. “She’s still out, so at least we don’t have to explain why the kitchen smells like…well…that.”
“Yeah yeah,” Frankie muttered, leaning against the counter.
The hours dragged on as the soup slowly came together. They took turns checking the pot and whispering arguments about whether it needed more salt or if the vegetables were soft enough. It wasn’t exactly gourmet cooking, but by the time the two hours were up, the apartment smelled surprisingly good.
Frankie grabbed a spoon and tasted it, his eyebrows lifting in surprise. “Hey, it’s…not bad. I mean, it’s edible.”
“Edible isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement,” Rocco muttered, but he grabbed a spoon and took a taste as well.
He frowned, then nodded reluctantly. “Alright, it’s decent. Let’s see if she can actually eat it.”
They carefully ladled the soup into a bowl, Rocco holding it steady while Frankie grabbed a spoon. As they approached Y/n, still curled up on the couch, Frankie nudged her shoulder gently.
“Hey, Sleeping Beauty. Wake up, we’ve got something for you.”
Y/n stirred, her tired eyes blinking open. She looked up at them groggily, her voice barely above a whisper. “What…is it?”
“Homemade soup,” Rocco said, setting the bowl on the small table next to her. “Don’t ask how we made it, just eat it.”
Y/n stared at the bowl suspiciously, then looked up at them. “You made this?”
“Yeah, and it took forever, so you better appreciate it,” Frankie grumbled, but there was a hint of pride in his voice.
With their help, she sat up slowly and took the bowl into her hands. The warmth of the soup felt comforting, and as she took a small sip, her eyes widened slightly. “It’s…good.”
Rocco and Frankie exchanged a look, both pretending to shrug it off, but the relief on their faces was unmistakable.
“Damn right, it is,” Frankie said, pulling a chair over to sit nearby. “Now eat up. We’re not going through that again anytime soon.”
Despite her exhaustion, Y/n managed a faint smile as she took another sip. For the first time in what felt like forever, she didn’t feel quite so terrible.
As Y/n slowly worked her way through the bowl of soup, the two men hovered nearby, pretending to busy themselves but clearly watching her every move. Frankie leaned against the counter, tossing a dishrag between his hands, while Rocco pretended to scroll through his phone.
“You don’t have to babysit me,” Y/n muttered, her voice still raspy but carrying a faint note of amusement.
Frankie snorted. “Babysitting implies we actually know what we’re doing. This is more like damage control.”
Rocco smirked but didn’t look up. “Just eat. You’ve looked like a ghost for days, and it’s freaking me out.”
Y/n rolled her eyes but continued eating. The soup wasn’t just warm, it felt like it was slowly pulling her back from the brink. Despite their clumsy efforts, the two had managed to create something that didn’t just fill her stomach but soothed her.
When she finished, she set the bowl down on the table and leaned back against the couch cushions. “Thanks,” she said softly, her eyes fluttering closed.
“Don’t mention it,” Frankie said, quickly grabbing the bowl and heading to the kitchen.
Rocco sat down in the chair across from her, his arms resting on his knees. He studied her for a moment before speaking. “You’ve gotta start taking better care of yourself, you know that, right?”
Y/n cracked an eye open and gave him a weak glare. “Kinda hard when you feel like shit all the time.”
“Yeah, well, feeling like shit isn’t gonna stop the boss from tearing into us if something happens to you,” Rocco muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
The mention of Joker made her heart skip a beat, but she didn’t respond. Instead, she closed her eyes again, letting the warmth of the soup settle over her like a blanket.
Frankie returned from the kitchen, drying his hands on a towel. “Alright, since you’re fed, it’s bedtime. Doctor Google says rest is key or whatever.”
“Doctor Google?” Y/n mumbled, a faint smile tugging at her lips.
“Yeah, and don’t laugh. It’s the only medical degree we’ve got around here,” Frankie shot back, tossing the towel onto the counter.
Rocco stood up, stretching. “He’s right, though. You need to sleep. We’ll be here, so don’t worry about anything, alright?”
Y/n opened her eyes briefly, glancing between the two. Despite their gruff attitudes and questionable bedside manners, she could tell they were genuinely trying to help.
“Alright,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Frankie grabbed an extra blanket from a nearby chair and draped it over her as she curled up on the couch. Rocco turned the heater up a notch, muttering something about the drafty apartment.
As they settled into their makeshift positions, Frankie lounging in the armchair and Rocco leaning against the wall, Y/n let herself drift off, the sound of their quiet banter lulling her to sleep.
For the first time in days, she didn’t feel entirely alone.
-
Rocco had just settled back into the creaky chair, giving Frankie a side-eye as he scrolled through his phone. The apartment felt oddly quiet for once, with Y/n asleep on the couch and the sound of the heater humming in the background.
But the silence was shattered when Rocco's phone rang, cutting through the stillness. He stared at the screen, confused by the number.
"Who the hell..." he muttered, before swiping the screen to answer. "Yeah?"
There was a brief moment of silence, then a familiar voice came through the phone, rough and slightly distorted, as if coming from a distance. "Rocco."
Rocco froze, eyes widening. His grip tightened around the phone. "Boss? Is that you?"
A low grunt came from the other end, the voice now unmistakable. “No, it’s Santa. Give the phone to her.”
Without wasting another second, he pushed himself out of the chair, walking over to Y/n, who was lying on the couch, her breathing slow and steady in deep sleep. He hesitated for a moment, looking at her peaceful face before shaking her gently.
“Hey, wake up. Phone’s for you,” Rocco said, his voice low.
Y/n groaned softly, stirring under the blanket, her eyelids fluttering open but still heavy with sleep.
“Mmhmm?” she mumbled, barely registering what he said, her voice thick with drowsiness.
“Take the phone,” Rocco said, pressing the phone into her hand with a small, apologetic smile.
Y/n’s eyes, still foggy with sleep, took a moment to process his words. But when she heard the familiar voice come through the phone, her heart skipped a beat.
“Hey, Bunny.”
Her eyes shot wide open at the sound of his voice, disbelief and relief flooding through her all at once. "J!" she gasped, sitting up quickly despite the remnants of sleep dragging at her.
“That’s right, Bunny.” Joker’s voice came through low, almost muffled. “Now, listen. I don’t have much time, so don’t say anything that’ll get you in trouble. No names, no details. Just keep it simple.”
“Okay...” Y/n whispered, almost in disbelief that she was hearing him. Her pulse raced in her chest.
“How you holding up? They uh..treating you okay?” Joker’s voice was rough, but there was an unmistakable thread of concern woven in, something that made her heart swell.
Y/n paused for a moment, her thoughts racing. “Yes, they’re keeping me good...I had food, water, and sleep,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady, not wanting to worry him any more than he already might be.
“They feed you?” Joker repeated, his disbelief clear.
“Mhmm.” Y/n nodded even though she knew he couldn’t see her.
"And you lived?" Joker’s voice became incredulous, as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“It was really good, actually! I swear!" Y/n chuckled softly, her mood lightening just hearing his voice, even if it was through a phone call. "I don't know what the hell they did, but it was, like...homemade soup or something.”
There was a pause on the other end. “Homemade soup?” Joker’s voice was tinged with amusement. “Jesus Christ, Bunny, what the hell’s going on over there?”
Y/n laughed again, feeling a little lighter as the conversation continued. She couldn’t believe how badly she’d missed him, how much she needed to hear his voice. Even with all the danger and chaos swirling around them, this small moment made everything feel somewhat normal again.
“What have you been doing, Bunny, hmm?” Joker’s voice dropped an accusatory tone, his words sharp yet tinged with concern. “Cause you ain’t been taking care of yourself.”
Y/n winced, guilt bubbling in her chest. “I know…I just haven’t been feeling great,” she muttered, her words barely escaping her lips.
“That’s no excuse to not look after yourself,” Joker snapped, though his voice softened quickly after, as if trying to hide the edge of frustration.
Y/n’s shoulders slumped, the weight of his words sinking in. “I understand…” She paused, looking down at the blanket wrapped around her, picking at the fibers.
“How is everything there?” she asked, wanting to divert the conversation away from her.
“How you’d expect a police station to be like,” Joker replied with a nonchalant chuckle, as if it was just another ordinary day. “No worries, Doll, I’m a frequent flyer here. They’ll ask me questions until they get tired, then send me right back off to Arkham.”
Y/n’s stomach twisted at the mention of Arkham. “What?” Her voice cracked, fear creeping into her chest.
“Don’t worry about it, Bunny,” Joker reassured, his tone light despite the underlying danger of his words. “I’ll be out before that happens.” He let out a chuckle, like it was all just a game, but it did little to ease the knot in Y/n’s stomach.
Her mind raced, trying to grasp the weight of what he was saying, but it didn’t add up. How could he sound so calm about all of this?
“What else is going on?” she asked, forcing her voice to stay steady.
“Well, they keep asking about your car,” Joker said, the amusement slipping into his voice again.
“They just won’t believe me when I tell them the car’s not being used for some heist or whatever, but my dear Bunny’s.” He lingered on the words, a playful hint beneath his serious tone. “They think I’m some kind of Joker.”
Y/n chuckled nervously, though it didn’t fully reach her eyes. “Well, from their point of view, I get it,” she said, rubbing her temple in a half-hearted attempt to ease the headache that had been gnawing at her for days.
In the background of the call, Y/n could hear a voice growling from a distance. "Okay, that's enough phone time for you!"
"Ooh, looks like the coppers want me," Joker's voice rang through the phone, still light-hearted despite the gravity of the situation. "Take care of yourself, Bunny. Get Frankie to go buy you an ice cream, you deserve it."
Y/n’s heart sank a little, knowing the call was ending. “Okay, bye J…” she murmured softly, a twinge of sadness in her voice as she reluctantly let go of the connection.
“Mwah!” Joker’s voice perked up, the sound of a kiss sent through the phone before the line clicked dead.
Y/n stared at the phone in her hand for a moment, her chest heavy. She handed it back to Rocco without saying another word, her gaze wandering over to Frankie, who had been quietly watching her.
“Joker said you have to go get me an ice cream,” she said, almost sheepishly.
Frankie blinked, eyes wide in disbelief. “Come on!” he groaned, throwing his hands up in the air in exasperation. “I’m ain’t your personal ice cream runner, you know that?”
Y/n let out a soft chuckle despite herself, the weight of the situation lightening just a little bit. “He said I deserve it,” she insisted, giving him a small, playful look.
Rocco snorted in the background, clearly trying to hide his own amusement, but Frankie just shook his head, clearly not amused by the sudden ice cream errand he was apparently now obligated to run.
“Fine,” Frankie muttered, clearly out of options, “But only ‘cause boss said so.” He turned towards the door, grabbing his jacket. "Don't expect me to get you anything fancy."
Frankie stormed out of the apartment with a grumble, muttering about how he was too old for this kind of nonsense. Y/n couldn't help but smile a little, even though the sadness still lingered in the pit of her stomach.
Rocco leaned against the counter, arms crossed as he observed her. "You good?" he asked, his tone soft but concerned.
Y/n nodded slowly, though she wasn’t sure how convincing it was. "I will be," she said, her voice quieter than she intended.
"Just…it’s hard, you know? Hearing his voice and then having to hang up." She paused, looking at the door where Frankie had just left. "I just feel…I don’t know. Like I’m just waiting for something to happen."
Rocco gave a nod, his expression unreadable. "I get it. But he’s not gonna let them keep him for long. You know how the Boss is." He seemed to try lighten the mood.
Y/n sighed, leaning back against the couch, wrapping her arms around herself. "I hope you're right," she murmured.
She closed her eyes, trying to push the thoughts of Joker being locked up, of everything that might go wrong, out of her mind.
After a few moments of silence, Rocco sighed and walked over to the window. "You need to rest. Frankie will be back soon, and when he gets back, you can get some real sleep. We’ve got you covered here."
Y/n didn’t argue. The exhaustion was creeping back in, and the warmth of the couch was almost too inviting. "Yeah," she whispered, sinking further into the cushions, "maybe just for a little while."
Wasn’t long till Frankie finally returned, looking both annoyed and tired, two containers of ice cream in his hands.
"Alright, alright," he muttered, placing the tubs on the coffee table with a huff. "Ice cream, just like the Boss ordered."
Y/n blinked, her exhaustion making her movements sluggish as she looked at the ice cream. "Thanks," she said quietly, trying to muster up a smile, though still tired. "I didn’t think you’d actually do it. But…why do you have two?"
“Like hell I’m gonna do all this work without reward,” Frankie said, lounging back while opening his tub of ice cream.
"Alright, you two. Eat your ice cream, then you get back to sleep." Rocco said, pointing at Y/n.
Y/n finally allowed herself a tiny laugh, something genuine this time, as she took a spoonful of the ice cream. It wasn’t much, but for now, it was enough.
-
It had been only a few hours since Y/n had finished the ice cream and drifted into sleep. The apartment was eerily quiet, the kind of silence that settles in before something disruptive happens. Suddenly, the front door burst open with a thunderous crash, slamming against the wall so hard that it rattled the cheap picture frames hanging nearby.
Y/n jolted awake, heart racing as she instinctively sat up on the couch. Disoriented and still half-asleep, she blinked at the doorway, trying to process what was happening.
“What the hell?” she muttered, her voice hoarse from exhaustion and lingering sickness.
Standing in the doorway, framed by the dim hallway light, was the one and only Joker. His grin stretched wide, his green hair slightly disheveled, and his eyes sparkling with chaotic energy. He threw his arms out, as if putting on a grand show for an audience of one.
“Ta-da!” he exclaimed, his voice dripping with that unnerving mix of charm and madness.
Y/n blinked again, certain she was either dreaming or hallucinating. “J?” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of her own heartbeat.
Joker’s grin widened as he sauntered into the apartment. “In…the…flesh, Bunny,” he said, spreading his arms wide before giving a mock bow. “Miss me?”
Rocco and Frankie stumbled out of the kitchen, both looking like they’d seen a ghost. “Boss?!” Rocco exclaimed, his voice cracking. “How the hell did you–”
“Details, details!” Joker interrupted, waving a gloved hand dismissively. “Do I look like a man who lets a little thing like prison keep him down?”
He spun on his heel to face Y/n again, his expression softening just a fraction. “But you, Bunny…you’ve been naughty.”
Y/n stared at him, still trying to wrap her head around his sudden appearance. “How are you here…?” she started, but her words trailed off as he strode over to her, crouching down so they were at eye level.
“Now, now,” Joker said, tilting his head as he studied her sickly face. “We’ll get to that later. First, we need to talk about you. You look like you’ve been run over by a bus, Bunny. Frankie and Rocco been slacking on their uh…babysitting duties?” He shot the two men a glare over his shoulder, making them both stiffen.
“Hey, we’ve been taking care of her!” Frankie protested, gesturing toward the empty ice cream container on the coffee table. “She ate, she rested, we even made soup!”
“Soup.” Joker repeated, raising an eyebrow. “My Bunny eating your soup. Yeah, I heard about that little endeavour.” He turned back to Y/n, his gloved hand brushing a strand of hair from her face. “But still, you’ve got some explaining to do.”
Y/n felt her throat tighten as she looked into his intense gaze. “J, I didn’t think I’d see you again so soon,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Joker leaned in closer, his grin turning devilish. “Bunny, I told you before. I’m gonna come back for you.”
Y/n didn’t have time to process Joker’s words before he stood up, his energy buzzing like static in the room. He clapped his hands together, making both Rocco and Frankie flinch.
“Alright, boys, let’s have a chat,” he said, his tone shifting from playful to commanding. “What’s the state of this little hideout? Security tight? Supplies stocked? Or have you two been playing house while my Bunny’s been rotting away?”
Frankie looked at Rocco, who reluctantly spoke up. “We’ve done everything you asked, boss. She’s been fed, rested, and kept safe. No one’s sniffing around. We’re good.”
“Safe,” Joker repeated, his tone skeptical as he paced the room. “And yet my Bunny looks like she’s one sneeze away from passing out again. Safe doesn’t mean a damn thing if she’s not healthy.” He whipped around to face them, his eyes blazing. “So, what’s the plan, hmm? How are you two fixing this?”
“We’ve been doing what we can!” Frankie interjected. “Soup, meds, ice cream, what else are we supposed to do?”
Joker laughed, the sound sharp and grating. “Oh, Frankie, Frankie, Frankie…You don’t fix her with ice cream and soup. You fix her by making sure she never gets like this in the first place!”
He pointed at Y/n, who was watching the exchange in stunned silence. “You let her get sick, and that’s the problem.”
Y/n finally found her voice. “J, stop,” she said, her tone firm despite the exhaustion weighing her down. “They’ve been taking care of me. It’s not their fault.”
Joker’s gaze snapped back to her, his expression softening slightly. “Defending the little guys, huh, Bunny?” He crouched down again, his gloved hand resting lightly on her knee. “But you’ve gotta take care of yourself too. Can’t have my Bunny falling apart on me.”
“I’m trying,” Y/n said quietly, her cheeks flushing under his intense gaze.
Joker straightened up, his manic grin returning. “Good. Because I didn’t bust out of that hellhole just to find you looking like an inch away from death.”
He turned to Rocco and Frankie. “You two, make yourselves useful. Get this place cleaned up, get some decent food stocked, and find a real doctor. None of this DIY crap.”
“Doctor?” Frankie repeated, wide-eyed. “How are we supposed to–”
Joker silenced him with a glare. “Figure it out. Or do I need to babysit you, too?”
The two men exchanged a nervous glance before scurrying off, muttering plans under their breath.
Joker turned back to Y/n, his expression unreadable. “Now, Bunny, let’s get you feeling better. And then…” His grin widened, full of dangerous promises. “We’ve got work to do.”
The apartment settled into an odd rhythm. Rocco was scrubbing dishes in the kitchen, muttering complaints about how Frankie always left things half-cleaned. Frankie lounged on the couch, flipping through channels, just waiting to jump up if Joker barked an order. Y/n, wrapped in a blanket, sat on a chair by the window, her fever finally subsiding.
Joker was at the table, sketching out something on a crumpled napkin, his gloved fingers moving with quick precision as he muttered half-formed plans to himself.
It felt oddly normal, like a strange little family of sorts. The heater hummed faintly in the corner, its warmth mixing with the faint scent of leftover soup lingering in the air. Every now and then, Joker would glance up at Y/n, his gaze softening before snapping back to his frantic scribbling.
But outside, across the street, perched on the rooftop of a rundown building, someone was watching. The figure was cloaked in shadows, blending seamlessly with the dark sky. Through binoculars, the scene inside the apartment unfolded in perfect clarity.
The faint glow of the heater, the flickering light from the TV, and the exaggerated gestures of Joker as he spoke animatedly to himself, all of it was observed in meticulous silence.
The man adjusted his grip, the faint outline of a gloved hand catching a stray glint of moonlight. A gust of wind ruffled the long edges of their cape, but they remained unmoving, a silent sentinel above the chaos below.
Their focus lingered on Y/n, her eyes closed as she slept on the run down couch. Then it shifted to Joker, who leaned back in his chair, throwing a mocking laugh toward Frankie.
A voice crackled softly in his earpiece, almost inaudible against the city’s distant hum. “Are you going to move in, sir?”
The man’s jaw tightened. No response.
His gaze returned to Joker, whose grin widened as he shoved his napkin sketch across the table for Rocco to examine. The man’s grip on the binoculars tightened, his shadowed silhouette growing even stiller, waiting for the right moment to strike.
-
A/N: Yep, very much on the shorter side, but got through it, lol.
I enjoyed writing this one, it was a little fun on to write for me, just Y/n getting treated by Joker's incompetent goons
Hopefully it will pick up in the next chapter (considering how I ended this one 👀)
Thank you for reading 💚

Anal? No one's doing anal
I'm having a Jschlatt brainrot rn so expect more imagines than anyone wants , feel free to request anything
Synopsis: schlatt and y/n are putting together a desk , but it sounds inappropriate to Charlie outside the room , he gets worried like any friend would
Warnings:mentions of anal , hurt , sexual intercourse, innuendos, a whole lot of whacky stuff , not proofread or edited
Word count: 806 words
The only things that charlie could hear from the outside of the OTK office/filming room were things that would definitely give him nightmares and make him avoid Schlatt and Y/n for the foreseeable future
Who said I can't put this fucking thing in that hole " schlatt said practically shouting out of anger
"Me ! , for the hundredth time it shouldn't go there no matter how much you ask" his girlfriend answered
"Tell me that doesn't look like it'll fit in there"
"I am not turning around , I know I'm right . Now hurry up before Charlie or Ted get back"
Charlie was torn between making some loud noise and hoping they'd stop whatever they sound like they're doing or running away and never speaking to them again
He did neither out of pure terror and instead pulled out his phone to text Ted to see if this was some skit or some prank they were playing or whether they were actually doing that in the studio where they filmed
'Hey dude, do you know what Y/n and Shclatt are doing in the studio?' He texted simply not bothering to beat around the bush
'Anal by the sounds of it , but I have no clue, didn't want to know to be honest'
Charlie really didn't want the first bit to be true , especially since he was only there to hold one of the cameras while they filmed stuff . He was getting way more than he bargained for
'Gross , don't joke about that or it'll come true' he replied a grimace on his face
'They've been at it for a solid half hour , they should be done soon don't worry man'
'Don't worry man ? You clearly aren't hearing this' charlie scoffed at Ted's audacity
'I escaped with minimal trauma thankfully' he could feel Ted's smugness through the screen
'And you didn't think to take me with you?'
'Didn't know if they wanted you to film it'
'You're disgusting nivison' and with that he put his phone back in his pocket and tried to plan what he was going to do next
"I fucking told you that wouldn't fit, are you done trying yet ?"
"It's going to fit I don't care what you say you god damn bitch" at that charlie knew he had to do something for the safety of his friends
So he did what anyone would do and knocked on the door rather harshly to make sure he was heard
"Yeah , uh kinda busy" He heard y/n say
"I know you guys are in love , but that's a recording room . Also are you okay ?"
"Yeah fine just pissed at this furniture" schlatt admitted
"Schlatt!" Y/n said scolding him
"Are you both decent? Can I come in?"
"Yeah why wouldn't we be" they both simultaneously spoke
The situation he opened the door to was definitely not what he was expecting, but in a good way
They were just trying to put a new coffee table together to replace the one Schlatt broke in the previous recording
"Oh thank god" Charlie said with a hand over his heart as he breathed a sigh of relief "we thought you were doing anal"
"Anal? No one's doing anal , I'm not allowed to anymore" that comment earned him a firm slap to the chest
"Please stop talking, for my sake" charlie begged
At that charlie showed them the texts him and Ted had sent and they put the pieces together
"Oh charlie I'm so sorry you heard that , we just wanted to surprise you with the new coffee table before the next video" y/n apologised to her friend as her boyfriend loudly laughed next to her
"That's so fucking funny man , how did we not realise" he said wiping a tear from his eye "you look so terrified man" he said still laughing and using Charlie's shoulder as a stabilizer
"Is that why ted left?" Y/n asked shocked that everyone thought they were doing such a thing "this is so embarrassing and it's all your fault" she said pointing at her boyfriend who broke the table in the first place
"You have to admit that it's kinda funny" he said turning to face his girlfriend as Charlie called Ted and told him he can come back
"Charlie has the worst luck when it comes to us" she said sympathy evident in her voice "remember when he walked in on us in Ted's bathroom at that party"
"Be thankful it was him and not Ted" this earned him a middle finger in his direction
"What a wacky day it's been" Ted said entering the room they all were in
"You haven't been here for half of it " charlie accused as they chatted about what to film next

(I strongly recommend listening to the song as you read)
Reader x Matt Sturniolo
Trigger Warning's: Suicide (jumping off bridge), Mentions of death, being around as spirit form?, healing after death, mental health struggles (I think that's all?)
A/N: This is written from the readers Pov, not my own. You can imagine who you'd like since no name is ever specified, but this was written thinking about Matt as the male counterpart. There is no dialogue except for the lyrics.
———————————————————————
“Up with your turret. Aren’t we just terrified?”
I stood there in the middle of the bridge, my head hung back as I looked up at the night sky. I knew that this idea wasn’t going to be good, but I felt as if I was in this dark hole I couldn’t climb out of. My thoughts plagued me to a degree where my skull felt like it was burning.
“Shale, screen your worry. From what you won’t ever find”
My feet moved themselves to the edge of the bridge, looking at the waves crash against the pillars that were plunged deep into the water. I felt the bile of fear and guilt crawl up my chest, threatening to expel itself from my parted lips. I hope no one ever finds me.
“Don’t let it fool you. Don’t let it fool you down.”
But I knew this was for the best. The pain everyone else would feel would only be temporary as the memory of me would slowly dissipate into nothing. I couldn’t let myself feel guilty for what I was about to do, not after I’ve already written a note to those I love.
“Down’s sitting around. Folds in the gown.”
My white dress, wrinkled and worn, flowing around my body as the wind brushed across my skin. Tired of sitting around and waiting, I step forward.
“Sea and the rock below. Cocked to the undertow.”
The waves crashed over the rocks, disappearing and re-appearing as my foot stepped off the ledge. The weight of falling sending a shock through my body, it felt welcoming. I didn’t feel afraid, I didn’t think about anything else. I felt – free.
“Bones, blood and teeth erode. With every crashing node.”
My body hit the water, the sharp rocks cutting me before everything went black. The crashing waves send my lifeless body flowing through them, pulling me under and back up again. I didn’t feel anything, everything was at peace, everything felt right.
“Wings wouldn’t help you. Wings wouldn’t help you down.”
Even when the thoughts told me to stop and turn back, I knew once my foot fell over the edge, there were no wings that I could grow to save myself. No anchor I could throw back up to take me back to the one I love, the one I didn’t let help me.
“Down fills the ground. Gravity’s proud.”
Gravity had won. Smiling down at me as I continued to flow through the water, it’s feel of satisfactory. But it did do me one thing, when he went looking for me after finding my letter. Pushing me toward the shore for his tired blue eyes to see.
“You barely are blinking. Wagging your face around.”
He pulled me out of the water, my lifeless face staring back at him as the water spilled from my lips. His sobs tore through the night air, holding me close to him as he tried to wake me up. Whispering ‘sorry’ repeatedly as his forehead rested against my cold one. I tried to whisper, to tell him I’m okay now, that I don’t feel pain anymore.
“When’d this just become a mortal home?”
He hovered over my body as it lay in the casket. The funeral home was packed with loved ones and people who held me close to them. He whispered his speech to me, his face stained with tears, the dark bags evident for anyone to see. He couldn’t believe I would do this, why I didn’t come to him for help. I wanted to tell him I was sorry, but he couldn’t hear me no matter how hard I tried.
“Won’t, won’t, won’t, won’t. Won’t let you talk me. Won’t let you talk me down.”
He couldn’t move on. Even after all these years of me being gone, of my soul following him around everywhere he went. He never moved on from me, keeping my things close to him as many tried to tell him it was okay. But he was having none of it, he couldn’t stand the thought of letting me go completely, promising to keep my memory alive for as long as he lived.
“Will pull it taut. Nothing let out.”
He closed himself off. To his family, his friends, his brothers. The guilt of not being able to help eating him alive for so many years. But he finally learned to move on slowly. I was with him every step of the way, his brothers too. He learned to love again, but to make it known I was still special to him.
I was always with him, every step of the way. I knew he could feel it, up until his final breath, the end of his life. Finally re-joining me where we were happy once more.

Amel is the CEO of Loustat Inc. He did NOT force Les to Beat/Drop Lou in 1x5. Stop it, y'all.
I was scrolling the main tag & saw the most desperate copium from anons in this braindead fandom.
Grown frikkin adults want SO dang bad for AMC to baby everyone by using premises from CHILDHOOD shows, and treat the fandom like we're too effing stupid & immature to handle the realities of toxic and abusive relationships explicitly shown on screen for 2 whole seasons; to instead put ALL of the onus of Lestat's pisspoor decisions & actions on an effing spiritual possession.
The same folk who were so gung-ho that the fight/drop never happened & that the Trial would revisit everything & prove Louis AND Claudia were evil liars are back at it again, hoping the Drop will be revisited AGAIN in S3; but that this time AMEL will be shown possessing/influencing Lestat during the Ep5 fight to explain why Les was an abusive a-hole who dropped Lou & broke all his bones.
People are still convinced that AMC's gonna retcon S1 AND S2--EFF agency/autonomy/ADULT accountability, EFF Lestat's abandonment issues stemming from his traumatic past laying at the heart of his paranoia & oppressive behavior in the present cuz cycles are cycling--all to say:
See!? It wasn't your sweet innocent blorbo's fault at all~! It was that naughty scamp AMEL, the spirit in Akasha that powers all vampires, that made this grown effing man Lestat so wildly insecure about the "fragility of their union" & his own child possibly taking his grown husband away from him; that it made him chokeslam his child and throw her across the room so he could go back to punching the living daylights out of Louis and bite all over his face/cheeks and crack the bridge of his nose and blind him in one eye and even though he's clearly LUCID when he asks Louis if he's leaving & trying to restrain HIMSELF he simply MUST be possessed to smash Lou through a wall and drag him out of the courtyard by his effing jaw and tell their terrified traumatized sobbing daughter to her face as he clutched Louis' battered bloody face IDGAF about YOU and fly into the effing Oort Cloud draining Louis dry to beg him to say "Lestat I'm never going to love you, it would help ME a great deal to hear it from your lips, your quivering hateful lips" and say "anything for you" when Louis demanded Les "let go of me!" to watch as Louis fell 2km from the effing sky and NOT dive down to catch him before he smashed back down to earth "LIKE AN EGG FROM AN AIRPLANE" in a broken effing heap as their daughter cried her eyes out and he floated gracefully down to watch with a YEAH I DID IT TRY ME AGAIN look of resolute coldness on his face before he effed off to Algiers for 6 effing years to bone his mistress.
And they KNOW they sound wild as all hell, cuz they put in the I'm not a p.o.s. I promise! disclaimer; anyone who doesn't agree just isn't Intelligent(TM):
Even though abuse apologia is EXACTLY what you're doing. It wasn't possession or protection or a "a mistake, an accident" or any other BS--it is what Lestat outright SAID it was:
And ofc they focus on the Drop being the moment Amel steps in, cuz it uses the exact same footage from Ep5, confirming that Louis was HONEST about his eye being busted (which the bedroom revisits don't show, meaning his eye got effed up by whatever else Les did after smashing Lou thru the wall, cuz it's already swollen when Lou's being dragged by the jaw). The Drop is the most horrific aspect of Ep5 & the culmination of everything that happened, that even made the sadistic AF audience at the Theatre gasp in shock while Santiago tried to DOWNPLAY the Drop & Lestat's fault in it--"teased until you toppled" my arse. As always, ANY excuse to absolve him. 🙄😒
WHO THE HELL IS #THEM!?! Too effing late!
See how people spread hatred, ignorance, & bigotry through shady AF microaggression? This Us vs Them jargon is so racially charged it's not even funny, cuz it's been about black!Louis & white!Lestat ever since Jacob's casting was announced, and ESPECIALLY ever since Ep5 put everything that was already sus about Lestat on the show AND in the books in 4K HD resolution and AMC STILL hasn't walked it back.
What Bipoc Louis fans/stans H A T E & get offended by is racist AF gaslighting that villainizes the Black MC (& his fanbase) into believing that Black voices can't be trusted or respected without some white person's confirmation (Daniel & Lestat); and that mistreatment & abuse & outright assault at the hands of white people can't happen without y'all bringing up an abuser's tragic backstory or concocting a whole effing paranormal entity to excuse the evil actions privileged people inflict against those with less power than they have.
Believe it or not, not ALL Louistans hate Lestans, or Lestat, or Loustat being together. Ofc I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one love Lestat, and Loustat's my IWTV 2022 OTP, and I have Lestan mutuals (who aren't racist p.o.s.).
Not ALL Louistans are offended by or even GAF about DM--who weren't even MENTIONED in this convo; why even bring that up or drag them into this????
Not ALL Louistans hate Ep5 & the implications of the fight & the nuance of toxic relationships. I for one effing LOVE how real it all is. And actually, it was mostly LESTANS who were crying about Ep5 not having trigger warnings, pissed AF about Ep5 making Lestat look like the abusive villain, spinning their tops tryna figure out a way to excuse/explain it all away for the past 2 years--case in point from this desperate anon's message!
But why am I even blaming the anon, when apparently it's Lestat's superfans like Nalyra who made these wack ideas in the first place!?
And yet people swear that we--#them--are LYING (like Louis & Claudia) when we talk about the insidious problems in this fandom being funneled through superfans who actively create this BS that their followers then spread like radioactive waste all over the fandom; then they wanna wring their hands as if they're not the problem & that #those people are bullying them!?
Sure, walk it back NOW that AMC's definitively confirmed that the Drop/fight/abuse really happened & that LESTAT was at fault for choking out Claudia first. But y'all are SO determined to make sure to victim blame & cast fault at Louis' feet for DEFENDING his child--
--as superfans fake neutrality while ignoring the FACT that Lestat attacked CLAUDIA & started the fight between them by attacking Louis' DAUGHTER; encouraging people to read ill intent in everything Louis does & wish ill upon him by every effing character--
This isn't fanfiction they're writing for the lolz, this is what they literally want to see AMC make canon to shut #them up about abuse. Like, it's not even BOOK canon that Amel would EVER feel that way about Louis! I wonder how much of the books Nonny even bothered to read to think AMC would even come up with this plotline, when not even RHOSHAMANDES was that evil & mean-spirited when he kidnapped Louis & Gabrielle & Marius.
Nevermind that Amel canonically COULDN'T compel strong vampires to do EFF ALL so long as he was trapped in Akasha's body while she was asleep & there were too many vamps sucking his core dry--hence Akasha's purges once she woke up.
Nevermind that it's only been AFTER Akasha died (in the 1980s) that Amel had gotten stronger, so by the 20teens he was able to commune with Lestat, the (chosen) one he'd wanted all along--not Rhoshamandes or Mekare.
Nevermind that when Amel DID start communicating/compelling vampires (AFTER Akasha was finally dead), he wasn't interested in making vampires kill each other over petty/toxic/jealous effing squabbles--he was busy making moves so someone could get rid of The Twins & give him (the Sacred Core) a better host, cuz he was TIRED of being TRAPPED as a prisoner in another vegetable. He was driving vampires crazy with bloodlust so that THOUSANDS of vamps around the world would die & he could be free; NOT because he hated them personally & thought "Dropping you was exquisite."
Nevermind that when Amel FINALLY got Lestat to accept him inside his body and be Amel's new host, Lestat AND Louis were skeeved out by how hard Amel SHIPPED Loustat! XD I explained this ages ago:
Amel never touched Louis during the vampire massacres. Heck, even Akasha knew that harming Lou & Gabs would be THE dealbreaker on Les ever working with her; which is why the most epic scene in QotD happens when Akasha used her Fire Gift to SAVE Gabs & Lou & Les while they're escaping the concert.
Istg y'all.
I'm convinced y'all read the books with both eyes closed.
That must be it, cuz this is too easy.
Amel felt a connection with Louis not only cuz he loved Lestat & Lestat loved Louis, but also (less importantly?) for the simple/vain fact that Louis has green eyes--and Ame also had green eyes back when he was living in Atlantis--and so did Mekare, his favorite back when she was a mortal witch who could still commune with him (& the Twins were green-eyed gingers like he was, too; he likes red hair).
The ONE aspect I can see AMC possibly changing is Louis' Fire Gift affecting his power levels, and the fact that Lou DIDN'T actually die/flatline when he tried killing himself in 2x5 a la Merrick; which permanently cut him off from Amel's neural link/silver cord/etc.
WHERE in any of the actual book canon written by Anne Rice herself is there any indication that Amel would hate Louis and actively WANT Lestat to hurt him?
Can I see AMC making Amel a bigger threat than he was in the books? Of course, since a lot of his nonsense happened off-screen anyway. But Rhoshamandes is the REAL problem in the PL Trilogy, not Amel. And during the QotD era, Amel's too weak to do much, and Akasha STILL decides to spare Louis cuz she knows what side her bread's buttered on. Once she's gone, the only compelling Amel gets Lestat to do is related to renovating the Chateau & winning Louis back so Loustat can get married & be happy together and Amel can stare at Louis & marvel at how pretty he is, cuz EVERYONE's a simp for Louis; suck on THOSE eggs! And in NOLA, Amel DEFINITELY couldn't compel Lestat to do a single bloody thing, cuz Akasha's not even awake yet. Anything book/AMC!Lestat did to Louis in NOLA was a decision HE made on. his. own.

Ok! My thoughts on 7x05!
First, i just wanna say that the whole Hen and Karen storyline is awesome! I love that the show is giving queer people so much screen time, especially a Black lesbian couple! And i think its super sweet that they really want to try for Mara! I hope it works out!
Next, i think that has been my favorite cold open so far. The “ITS MEEE” gets me every time (i have already watched it loads of times). I dont have much to comment on it other than it was funny as fuck
Ok. The date scene. I was hoping to see more of Eddie watching them (especially after the stills), but oh well. The second-hand embarrassment i got was… a lot. But i dont think its necessarily a bad thing. It showed how out of his comfort zone Buck was and how he was trying to navigate a terrifying situation. And Tommy? I might have to retract my earlier retraction. Cos wtf?? Literally had just finished talking about how its hard to accept yourself in a “macho” field, then makes a dig at Buck when he fumbles? Not cool. Then not communicating what was happening until he was getting in the Uber? You dont just abandon someone at a restaurant like that. I understand the “you’re not ready” thing, but that was a dick move.
Also, Buck, baby. Sweetheart. Darling. “I look at hot guys’ asses.” Sweetie. Like Maddie said. You are more than an ally lmao. I also just love how Maddie showed interest in getting to know who Buck was talking about and treating the convo after like a normal convo. Because it is! And i love it! But she also emphasized talking to Eddie, because she knew that Eddie would not react poorly. I feel like that just shows how everyone knows how close Buck and Eddie are. TLDR, Maddie is an awesome sister and Buck is lucky to have her ❤️
Next point, the scene where Buck and Tommy talk over coffee. I do think that the hand holding at the end is very sweet and shows how Buck is really trying to be more open, but Tommy is just really starting to rub me the wrong way. Pretty much everything he said contradicts what happened in the date scene. I feel like him being at the wedding is really gonna spark some Jealous Eddie, tho, so i am excited to see that lmao
And Eddie and Marisol? I feel like the show is going in a direction that leads them to breaking up. Like yes, it is showing growth for Eddie and allowed him to acknowledge that he has Catholic guilt, but theres just. No chemistry. It feels awkward. I feel like her being an ex-nun is gonna bring up some issues with Buck and Eddie will not stand for that. I also wanted to point out that i got even more vibes that Eddie could be demisexual, cos he didnt straight up say that he loved Shannon, just that he loved being married to her. And he knows that he is moving too fast and needs to step back a bit
Finally, Buck coming out to Eddie. I do find it funny that Eddie seemed more shocked that Tommy wasnt straight than figuring out Buck isnt straight. But its awesome that Eddie showed interest and genuinely wanted to help Buck through the issue. And the hug? Finally! Give me men not being afraid to hug each other! I feel like this is allowing Buck and Eddie to become even closer (i do hope for Buddie eventually)
Overall, i feel like this episode was great for setting up the development of Buck and Eddie’s relationship (whether it ends up being platonic or romantic). And i am all for Buck exploring his sexuality with someone that isnt Eddie. While Tommy isnt my favorite right now, i do think that he is great for the progression of Buck’s story. I do hope to see more of Dad!Bobby in the coming episodes and how Buck’s parents might react to Tommy. I dont wanna wait three weeks for the next episode 😢. Im ready for the chaos of the Madney wedding
If i think of anything else ill add on, but i think thats all i have for now. Feel free to share your thoughts!

The Epilogue of Blood+ Russian Rose, Volume 2. Contains the author's thoughts and summary of them. Consists of three pages.
Afterword
So, this is the end of BLOOD+ Romanov Arc, Beans Bunko edition.
Before I began writing, I had the opportunity to visit the I.G Exhibition held in Shibuya. Those who attended might remember that the life-sized Chevalier figure was particularly eye-catching. I had already thought, after seeing the footage from the first screening, that the Chevalier looked scary and unsettling. But since it was a life-sized figure, I thought I'd experience it from Saya’s perspective and crouched down in front of it without worrying about onlookers.
"Seeing it like this, imagining the battle in my mind, looking up... it’s really terrifying."
Reflecting on Saya’s journey, she learns about her hidden origins during the harsh Russian winter and is thrust into battle before she can even recover from the shock. She is left with only Haji as her reliable ally, and she feels responsible for dragging him into the conflict. The situation is incredibly overwhelming.
I wanted to give Saya and Haji at least a moment of true peace and happiness. In my portrayal of Saya, she ended up becoming more of a regular girl, dealing with doubts and fears, rather than an otherworldly figure. I wonder if it would have been better if she had remained more transcendent. I hope this doesn’t detract from the enjoyment of the anime.
When I write, I often become so absorbed that I can’t think of anything else and rarely go out, so I use baths as a form of relaxation. Whenever I get stuck, I take a bath. I also cry over my inadequacies in the bath and sing "Moments" by Hamada Shinya, which I’ve decided is Haji’s song, while in the bath (I apologize to the neighbors!).
Having finished this story just before potentially causing a neighborhood disturbance, I feel a bit sad knowing I won’t be writing about Saya and Haji anymore.
To everyone,
Working on BLOOD+ and being involved with Saya and Haji has been both challenging and incredibly fulfilling.
Lastly, I would like to express my thanks and apologies. To Director Fujisaki, Aniplex, Production IG, MBS, and the person I troubled with phone calls while traveling—thank you for your patience and support. To Mr. Takajo, who helped improve my clumsy writing with excellent illustrations, I am grateful.
Thank you to everyone who was involved until this book appeared in stores. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.
And to you, the reader, thank you.
May the strength of Saya and Haji remain in your heart forever.
Kari Mizuki.
# SUMMARY:
The afterword begins by marking the end of the BLOOD+ Romanov Arc in the Beans Bunko edition. The author reflects on their experience before beginning the writing process, recalling a visit to the I.G Exhibition in Shibuya. There, the most striking exhibit was a life-sized Chevalier figure. Initially, the author was intimidated by the sight of the figure, feeling uneasy about its imposing presence. However, driven by curiosity and the desire to understand Saya’s perspective, the author crouched in front of the figure to experience the scene from her viewpoint. This encounter, although frightening, was intended to deepen their connection with Saya’s character and the story.
The author describes Saya’s tumultuous journey in Russia, where she confronts the shocking revelation of her origins and faces the harsh realities of battle. Saya is isolated in the severe cold, with Haji being her only source of support, even though she feels responsible for dragging him into the conflict. The author expresses a strong wish to grant Saya and Haji moments of genuine peace and happiness amidst their struggles. They reflect on how Saya evolved into a more relatable and emotionally complex character, showing vulnerability and ordinary human concerns rather than remaining an aloof, transcendent figure. The author shares personal writing habits, noting that they often find solace in baths to relax and brainstorm. They admit to crying over their own perceived inadequacies and singing intensely to lift their spirits, sometimes causing disturbances for neighbors.
In the concluding remarks, the author conveys deep gratitude for the opportunity to work on *BLOOD+* and to develop Saya and Haji’s story. They extend their thanks to various people who supported the project, including Director Fujisaki, Aniplex, the production team, MBS, and the illustrator Takagi, who provided invaluable assistance. The author acknowledges and apologizes for any trouble caused during the process, especially apologizing for the emotional phone calls made during business trips. They thank readers for their support and hope that the strength and impact of Saya and Haji’s story will remain with them long after they finish the book.

My favorites of 2023
I wanted to make little wrap up of 2023, so here are my favorite movies and performances from 2023
Top Five Favorite movies
#5 The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snake - dir. Francis Lawrence
I am a YA/dystopian boy through and through. I thought this was a very faithful adaptation and very visually stunning. The performances were all great and I just really liked it. However, I had my problems with the book itself and I felt the movie didn't do a great job truly villainizing Snow (I found him too likable until like the end of the film) All in all though a fun watch.
#4 Saltburn- Dir. Emerald Fennell
If there's one thing I'm gonna do on this account, It's support a boy's wrongs. This movie has so many visual details and story details, it truly blows my mind. The soundtrack? Banger after banger. I'd never heard Murder on The Dance Floor before this movie but now I want to dance around a mansion to it. The cast? I mean just look at them. I do think occasionally this movie occasionally felt like it was just being shocking for shocking's sake and I got a little tired of it.
#3 Spiderman: Across The Spider-Verse- Dir. Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, and Joaquim Dos Santos
I love art. There's no other way to say it. I am in love with creativity. The amount of details that are in this movie are so utterly mind blowing that every time I read about a new one, I feel like I have to rewatch this movie. The first Spider-verse film is an absolute masterpiece and this movie was not about to disappoint it. From the voice performances to the bleeding-water color, to animating on every other frame, this movie just had me floored. I hope it wins an Oscar for best animated feature or I'm throwing shit. I do want the second part before I fully judge the story but so far I think this is one of the best superhero stories in a while
#2 Barbie- Dir Greta Gerwig
I have never cried harder to a Nikki Minaj song. But actually, this movie made me fall in love with the simple act of being alive. It's a movie about a doll and yet its about enjoying life and growing up and how everything's so messy and it's so beautiful and we're so beautiful and I just. I get it. I get why Barbie wanted to be a human. We are all so fascinating. The ending montage alone is enough to make anyone with a heart cry. I hope that one day everyone is as in love with the world around them as this movie made me.
#1 Asteroid City- Dir. Wes Anderson
If you don't know the I'm Wes Anderson's number 1 fan, I'm doing something wrong. Truth be told, I didn't get this movie at first. I left the theater knowing that there was some deeper meaning but...what? So I thought about it for two weeks and then it hit me. There is no clear answer. There's no clear answer because the actors can't find a clear answer. There's no clear answer because the in-universe playwright didn't write one and maybe Anderson himself didn't write one. The movie has clear themes of grief and love and identity but at the end of the day what you choose to make of it is all up to you. There's also a lot to be said about how the play is existential and about uncertainty in the future and I think that's another reason I liked Asteroid City. I'm always so worried about the future. It terrifies me. But what can I do. And with that I once again realized that Wes Anderson was truly genius, and I don't think I'll ever see a film quite like Asteroid City again.
Favorite performances from each film
#5 Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird
I never got the hatred for Rachel Zegler. She was absolutely phenomenal in the 2021 West Side Story and she ate up Lucy Gray Baird. I just felt through the screen that Rachel understood her role so well. She played Lucy to all her vulnerability and strength and goddamn I am in love with her voice!! The old therebefore gave me absolute chills.
#4 Allison Oliver as Venetia Catton
being complete honest she's who I wanted to be in like middle school. Allison Oliver managed to play her as both such a free spirit and then to haunted on such the drop of the dime. From her subtle emotions to her snapping at Oliver in the bathtub she had me eating out of the palm of her hand. She would've loved Tumblr.
#3 Shameik Moore as Miles Morales
He had me laughing, crying, cheering and getting goosebumps the whole time. The absolute power Shameik Moore gives Miles is truly what tie the whole movie together. I feel like his performance often gets overshadowed for some of the bigger names in the cast and I truly find that shame. He gives Miles such a powerful and realistic portrayal that I admire it so deeply. From "Nah, I'mma do my own thing." to his conversations with Gwen to arguments with his parents, Shameik Moore makes Miles feel like a teenager who's trying to figure out who he is and a superhero saving a multiverse from collapsing
#2 Margot Robbie as Barbie
I'm fucking sick of only hearing Ryan Goslings name mentioned when we talk about the BARBIE movie! It is Margot's movie!! SHE ATE THAT SHIT UP!! She managed to so subtly bring in the changes of barbie being only a doll to being a real person. She provides so much of the movies comedy too. Her laying down crying had me wheezing not gonna lie. But she also shows us that how strong Barbie is and how she's so multi-faceted.She is truly someone little girls should see and be inspired by. Margot truly brought Barbie to life in all the ways that the audience and the script needed. She had me laughing, crying and smiling so goddamn wide the whole film. Here's to you, Margot.
#1 Jason Schwartzman as Augie Steenback/Jones Hall
It was the year of Schwartzman and nowhere was the proved more than in Asteroid City. Here we see, Jason Schwartzman playing and actor playing a single dad war photographer. Schwartzman manages to play all these layers so well, letting them blend together through on intense common factor: grief. Jones' grief bleeds into Augie in such a fascinating way that you might not even realize at first. It's so subtle and yet, it complete makes the performance. When we see Jones on his own a few times, though Jason Schwartzman manages to make him feel like a completely different man than Augie. The entire scene from Jones walking offstage to us being returned to 'Asteroid City' is truly some of my favorite acting of the year. Even through subtle expressions, we can truly see everything that Jones is experiencing. It's just such a sight to watch and it blows me away.
Some honorable film and performance mentions
Oppenheimer- Dir Christopher Nolan. Good film but a little too long if you ask me. Sorry!
Fav performance- Emily Blunt as Kitty Oppenheimer. She might not have been in a lot of the film but she stuck with me
Renfeild- Dir Chris McKay. Sorry I like fun camp! sue me!
Fav performance- Nic Cage as Dracula. I'm sorry Nic Cage is just so goddamn funny
Poison- Dir. Wes Anderson. Maybe the real snake was the Benedict Cumberbatch we met along the way.
Fav performance- Dev Patel as Woods. Wes please cast Dev Patel in a longer on of your films he ate this up.
Five Nights at Freddy's- Dir. Emma Tammi. I wanted to like it more but it felt like 3 different films until the last 20 minuets
fav performance- Matthew Lilard as William Afton. I want Stu Macher back after this.
The Swan- Dir. Wes Anderson. (Last time I mention Wes in this post I swear.) Hey Wesley! Quick question! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?? Thank youuuu!
Fav performance- Rupert Friend as Narrator/Peter Watson. Yeah he was the only guy speaking and he carried! The one moment where he breaks the stoic delivery and truly pleads for them to not kill the swan? Wow.
Gaurdians of The Galaxy Vol 3- Dir James Gunn. I have never cried over cgi this hard in my life!
Bradley Cooper as Rocket. Just hearing him scream sob almost had me open mouth sobbing in public.
Scream 6- Dir. Matt Bettinelli-olpin, Tyler Gillet. Starting to get real pissed at radiosilence.
fav performance- Jasmin Savoy-Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin. She's so funny, I love her.
If y'all want I also have a favorite tv shows of 2023 post

Drunken Kisses - Ricky
AN: Here is a short little mistletoe blurb, really stupidly sweet Rick fluff that randomly came to my mind the other day. Hope ya'll enjoy your double update Monday!
“How are you feeling?” Ryan asks, holding back a laugh when you step onto the bus, flipping him off as your response. You know that he already knows the answer to how you are feeling.
Everyone in the band and crew enjoyed a night off for the off day last night, minus Chris and Rick that meant that you all had a lot to drink. Now you, and by the looks of it, Vin, who is currently stepping foot on the bus are very hungover. You know some of the crew is too, but by far it is hitting you worse than anyone else. Clearly you can’t handle your liquor like you did in college.
“Ugh, not going to lie, I puked my guts out in my hotel room when I woke up this morning,” you admitted as you grab a bottle of water off the counter, preparing to make your way to your bunk to sleep off what you could before you arrive at the next venue later and have to work.
“So the real question is, do you remember anything from last night?” Chris asks you, with a knowing look on his face that tells you that you are going to regret whatever happened last night that you can’t remember.
“Do I even want to?” You ask with a sigh, figuring that you better just sit while they all make you regret taking shots with everyone last night.
“Probably not, but it was pretty funny,” Vinny answers, stealing the water out of your hand to take his own drink from it before handing it back to you. You grimace at his actions and just handed it back to him, not really wanting that bottle anymore.
“Can one of you assholes just tell me what I did,” you whine, your eyes going towards the door where you notice Rick walking on. You quickly notice that he isn’t really looking at you, just avoiding your gaze.
“First, the venue tonight canceled for tonight due to a bad snow storm rolling in so we will be going straight to the hotel when we get to town. And going back to the conversation, I believe that Justin, you are the one who filmed drunk y/n, why don’t you show her,” Chris said, his smile growing wider as he glances at you.
“Please don’t,” Ricky says with a groan.
Rather than responding, Justin just hands you his phone where there is a video pulled up. You notice that Rick looks very uncomfortable, making you guess that it somehow involved him. And that is what scares you the most, your crush on him being revealed is what you are terrified at the thought of happening last night.
(Video footage)
“So y/n, tell me what you just said that you are planning to do?” Justin asks, laughing at you as you rock on your feet, clearly drunk while you look at the camera he has aimed at your face.
“I’m finally telling Rick how I feel,” you say, your words slurred as you begin to walk towards Rick who is now visible a decent ways away from you on the screen.
(Back to real time)
You pause the video, hiding your blushing face in shame, knowing that this is going to be awful and make you hate yourself when you see it.
“Oh it gets better, keep watching,” Justin says laughing.
(Video Footage)
You grab Rick by his hand, dragging him away from Chris, who he was talking to, across the bar before you abruptly stop glance up.
“We’re under the mistletoe, and rules say that I have to kiss you now,” drunk y/n says, wrapping your arms around the slim man in front of you now, pulling him close to you.
“I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t count if you literally dragged Rick to it,” Vinny says laughing at the two of you as he watches on screen.
You flip him off before pulling on the top of Ricks shirt harshly, crashing your lips into a very shocked looking Ricky, who quickly pulls you off of him, looking at you wide eyed.
“I, I’m sorry but I can’t do this with you when you are drunk and won’t remember any of what is happening,” Ricky says, pulling your arms off of him and walking away, leaving you in tears on screen before the camera quickly shuts off.
(Back to current time)
You stare at the phone in front of you, freezing and having no clue what to say as everyone looks at you, waiting to see how you are going to respond to seeing what you did last night.
“God, I am so fucking stupid. Rick, I am so sorry. I-I’m going to go lay down and try to forget this again,” you mumble, quickly handing Justin his phone back and rushing away from everyone hoping they can’t tell that you are starting to cry of embarrassment, and also shame. But also because seeing him reject you does hurt, even if you didn’t remember it happened. You laid it all out there last night, and he made it clear how he felt and now things are going to be weird.
You let the tears freely flow down your cheeks as you lay down, no longer having to hide them from those around you.
You hear your curtain open, a bottle of water and tylenol are set on the mattress behind you before it closes again. You didn’t look to see what was left until after the person left, so you aren’t sure who left it for you but you appreciate it.
Taking some of the tylenol with some water you allow yourself to start to fall asleep, figuring that if you have a fresh head that you can figure out how to fix this with Rick, not wanting to lose the friendship that you have.
Later
Your plan to hide in your bunk seems to have worked, nobody has bothered you until Rick poked his head in 8 hours later to tell you that you all have arrived at the hotel.
You grab you dufflebag before making your way to the front of the lounge, waiting for everyone to tell you what your room assignment was, grabbing your card from Chris and making your way towards the hotel and into your room. Noting how much snow was on the ground and was still falling harshly, they were being serious about the snowstorm you guess. They luckily gave you your own room this time so you can just hide out again, deciding that avoiding the conflict at hand was better than facing your actions.
You hear your phone go off and decide to look at it, wondering what anyone could possibly need from you at this moment, only to realize that it was Rick who had messaged you.
“Y/n, do you want to go for a walk with me? I feel like we should talk about last night,” you read the message a couple times before deciding to answer him, figuring better just get this done and over with before it lingers too long and gets worse.
“I’ll meet you in the lobby in 20,” you respond.
You quickly change into jeans, knowing that it will be warmer for you than just your leggings. You also slip a hoodie underneath your jacket, not wanting to freeze while outside. After slipping your boots, hat and gloves you make your way down to the lobby, noticing that Rick was already down there.
You curse him in your head for wearing one of his damn beanies, there's something that is just adorable to you about him wearing one of them. Maybe it's because it keeps his hair out of his face, or that the darkness makes his eyes pop. You honestly don’t know but it’s just another thing that you find makes him cute in your opinion.
He gives you a soft smile when he notices you walking towards him, the two of you starting to walk outside in the snow, neither speaking for a while before you choose to break the silence.
“I am so sorry, I am not sure why I felt like that was a good idea last night but there are much better ways for me to have told you about my crush. And don’t think you things have to be weird, I know if I ignore it that it will go away eventually. I don’t want our friendship to be ruined just because I got drunk last night,” you find yourself rambling and choosing to shut up, hoping you didn’t make shit worse.
He stops, both of you noticing that you are now at a park that has Christmas lights up all around it, looking beautiful as they reflect off the snow that is on the ground. He grabs your hand, pulling you to a bench before you both sit down.
“I- I don’t want your crush to go away,” he says softly, avoiding your eyes that are watching him closely.
“What do you mean? Why would you not want it to?” You are confused, unable to figure out what he is asking of you. Is it because he notices that you do more for him? Always giving him his drink first, helping with his laundry, and the other little things you do. Is it because he wants you to favor him, what could he possibly want from you to where he doesn’t want your crush to leave?
“Stop over thinking this y/n, I worded that bad but it’s not that hard,” he says, a hand resting on your cheek as he turns your face to meet his eyes. You blushing hard at the fact that he knew that you were overthinking, he knows you way more than what you realized.
Before you can start panicking again he leans in, planting a gentle kiss on your lips before moving to pull away. You can’t help the giggle that leaves your lips as you brush some stray snowflakes from his hair.
“I don’t want you to forget because I want this too. And I said I can’t do this last night because I didn’t want to tell you this when you wouldn’t remember the conversation,” he tells you, leaning in and giving you another quick kiss.
You blush, trying to gather your thoughts so that you can answer him but struggling to find the words you want to say, instead you move so you can lay his head on his shoulder watching the snowfall while you wait to decide what it is you want to say to him, not wanting to say the wrong thing.
“Thank you for rejecting me last night,” you joke. “This is better.”
The two of you sit there for a little bit longer before you finally get too cold and decide to make your way back to the hotel, where you bump into Vin who gives you a big thumbs up when he realizes that the two of you are holding hands.
“I was just looking for you guys, movie night in Chris’ room if you guys are interested. We all got a little worried when we couldn’t find you and neither of you answered,” he teases, knowing that the two of you were clearly together, figuring things out.
“Nah, I think we are going to spend some time together, by ourselves,” Rick answered as the three of you made your way towards the elevator to go to your rooms.
That is exactly what the two of you wind up doing, curling up with each other in your bed watching awful Christmas movies in between kisses and talking until you both fall asleep together.

("Careless") CHAPTER 1 part 3.
David chiem x reader.
I bit my cheek as I put my hands in my pockets.
Seeing the two people talk before going up to everyone one by one. I listened in to everyone's conversations and learned their names.Hu jing, David chiem, J moreno, Arei nageishi, Veronika grebenshchikova, Levi fontana, Ace markey, Arturo giles, Charles cuevas, Nico hakobyan, Min Jeung, Rose lacroix, Eden tobisa, Whit young, Till finally. They walked up to me,
``Hello.`` I respond to them walking towards me
"Hello! I am Xander Matthews! The ultimate rebel." The red haired guy greets
"I'm Teruko Tawaki. The ultimate lucky student." The brown to gray haired female responded
``I'm (First name) (Last name).`` I responded. In a slightly cold tone. I just met them. Why would I trust them?
"What's your talent, Ms. (Last name)?" Xander asks politely
``I'm not from hopes peak.`` I respond. Looking down, I didn't wanna make eye contact. I'd only do it if I have to
"Excuse me?" Xander asks. A bit confused
``Look. I don't know either. But I'm in a bad mood right now, if you want information. Ask the others.`` I groaned. I put my hands back in my pockets and walked away.
The two people didn't follow me. Good. I stood there, staring at an wall and regretting my actions. Why was I such an trashy IDIOT?!.
But before I even knew it. I heard a noise. There was some sort of robotic cat.. wait no. A robotic dog?? I don't know what the hell it is. But I just know that I don't trust it. I looked around and see everyone else was definitely thinking the same thing as me.
(Time skip since the whole part is a long explanation, You all probably heard this before.)
(Summary: they're all in a killing game that is broadcasted live to the entire world. The robotic cat/dog with an TV head is an robot (MonoTV) controlled by the host of the killing game. They will have to kill someone in order to escape the killing game. And if they get caught they will have to get an talent-themed execution. There will be a class trial everytime a murder happens. Which they have to discuss who the murderer is.)
I was honestly shocked at what that stupid robot was telling me. It seemed so happy telling us all the rules.
"And that's it with my explanation. You are all free to explore the building! Farewell!" MonoTV said
"Wait. I have just one more question before you go." Levi asked, crossing his arms
"Hm?" MonoTV hummed in confusion
"Are you the one controlling this killing game? Are you the host of this game?" Levi asks
"Yea! I'm the host. This killing game is broadcasted by me! With ads appearing every 30 seconds! You'd need a subscription to skip those!" MonoTV said happily
"Is that so? Well then.."
"Stop talking." Levi's face suddenly turned dark. And before we all knew it. Levi GRABBED monoTV and put it in the air
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! PUT ME DOWN AT ONCE!" MonoTV screams
"If I destroy you. Would this killing game be stopped? You are the root of this problem. You are the host." Levi said coldly
"No! Don't! Otherwise you'd be..."
"Punished." The screen on monoTV's turned red and it's face smiled creepily
``Huh?!`` I didn't know what to do. I just stood there in confusion
All of the sudden. Teruko screamed"LEVI WATCH OUT!!!" Before we knew it. Large spikes came out of the floor. Levi had barely managed to dodge it. He had survived. But he fell down and got a scar on his shoulder from one of the spikes
I screamed in shock. And before I knew it. I ran to the door. Escaping the room. I don't know what happened next. I just ran. Running back to my dorm and hiding in there, I was terrified.
Sorry I haven't posted much. Been really busy with school lately. Finally I posted!!! I'm in school rn while typing this

ok, i feel i must make a wrap-up post to the jane eyre experience for those who were interested.
jane herself is one of my favorite female protagonists ever. she's so straightforward and blunt in a way even women today aren't always allowed to be and she's so true to herself even when she's homeless and starving or when she's being abused (except in the case of st john but i'm getting to that)
i liked most of the side characters who weren't being dicks to jane. rip helen burns i'll remember you forever.
actually, most of jane's relationships with women seemed more interesting than her relationship with men. im out here truthing for gay jane <3 say nothing about diana please that was NOT my fault
for all of her suffering, almost everyone who was ever horrible to jane got theirs in the end. so that was nice.
references to 🖖
the sections with the wife wandering the house at night were legitimately terrifying. like, to me, almost 200 years later, with all of my lights on. holy shit. context has been given to me also about the plot twist being that it's NOT a ghost but just a regular human person being pretty shocking at the time so i also think that's clever
some of the details don't quite click with um 2024 sensibilities. for example, "st john is such a good person going to india to be a missionary and even being willing to die over there" i think he should have died faster and i hope they dumped his body in a garbage heap. also, i was under the impression rochester was keeping a WHITE woman in his attic. like keeping any woman in your attic is bad but COME ON. and finally, there was this really pervasive belief throughout the book that you could glean someone's personality and intelligence etc through their physical features. it was talked about almost as if it was a science, but all it basically amounts to is "beautiful people are Better." ok.jpg
i don't. super feel like rochester was redeemed in the end? i guess i got spoiled by p&p but even though rochester SUFFERED and was PUNISHED he didn't CHANGE. i still don't think he's worthy of jane, and so the ending where she's just his caretaker forever now...i'm glad she's happy but i am a little baffled
i also felt a little baffled by jane letting st john walk all over her there near the end when she had Firmly established earlier she was not that kind of person. she was willing to starve to death rather than compromise her morals even though she really loved rochester, so why on earth did she almost let herself get bullied into a loveless marriage with her own cousin?
THAT SAID, i do like the reading of "well because of how it was she has to get married and rochester gives her the greatest degree of freedom because she has him well-tamed." that's very true.
i think everyone promised me too hard that the end of the book was gonna be good and make the rest of the book worth it because i had built it up in my head to...being a little More somehow. i thought the money was the big break and then it just made her more miserable until she went back to rochester because of ??? supernatural and/or religious reason. i don't think that ending magically fixes everything
i also think that if i go back and rewatch the movie, which i do plan on doing, it might sell me on the jane/rochester romance more, because actors are good at having charisma and making their characters enjoyable to watch on a screen. i think i never quite understood what jane saw in him, but if i could see it, i would be happier about their reunion
i'm still glad i read the book and got to know jane whether the movie fixes it for me or not. she's really one of the best female protags. i remember thinking a few times in the novel lizzy bennet would never have survived some of the stuff jane eyre did...on the other hand, darcy is ten times the man rochester is lol. crossover fic with darcy/jane..............?
anyway, i will make another post when i eventually get around to the movie. hope it fixes me 🤞🤞🤞

SCREAM 6- 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
GHOSTFACE TAKES MANHATTAN!
Absolutely loved Scream 6.
The Core Four move from Woodsboro to New York City to go to college and ghostface isnt far behind them.
The opening was inventive and fresh. Samara Weaving was great. The moment ghostface took his mask off really shocked me. I thought maybe this was a stab movie or something. Then ghostface calls him and he becomes the victim. I didnt understand why until later in the film but really liked all this.
Also a great Friday the 13th 8 nod with that on the tv.
The New York setting was brilliant and a breath of fresh air. Absolutely love Woodsboro but was nice to mix it up. The scene in the convenience store was so cool. Ghostface with a shotgun! ❤️
Ghostface in general was really scary in this. Really vicious kills and a lot less clumsy than he usually is. Scream 6 had some really tense moments and chase sequences. The ladder kill was absolutely terrifying.
As for the characters....
Just as Scream 2022 did. This film gives plenty of screen time to newer characters before introducing any of the legacy cast.
I think it really worked here and set up a lot for the film. Tara and Sams relationship was very well written. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega were both amazing. So happy to have them as the centre of these movies. Both very likable.
Chad and Mindy were great. Chads relationships with Tara was sweet and Scream 6 confirms Mindy is Randy (Meeks). Just as her uncle Randy used to do she is the horror buff who gets to to explain the updated rules. And does it very well. Although i think her haircut is probably the worst Scream haircut since Gale in Scream 3.
I was very happy they brought Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) back again through Sams thoughts. Love Sams conversations with him. Its hilarious that he is always trying to convince her to become a serial killer like him but he also watches out for her. Theyve found the perfect way to bring Billy back and should continue to do so for as long as Sam is around.
Now as for his boyfriend Stu, he was mentioned to be dead and then Mindy said:
"If you believe hes dead".
This is all i need to hear to continue holding out hope for him to still be alive and the next killer...
Other returning characters were Roger L Jackson as the iconic voice of ghostface.
Courteney Cox returns as Gale Weathers. Despite saying she wouldnt write a book about the last movie she does anyway. This leads to one of the best moments of the film when Sam tries to punch Gale. Gale ducks it only to be punched moments later by Tara. Hilarious. Somehow this is also the first time she has talked to Ghostface on the phone. Her putting him on hold had me laughing. That whole scene was great, Gale is badass and put up a great fight. I was genuinely surprised she survived, i thought she was going to die for sure.
She is also now the only person to appear on screen in every Scream movie.
Neve Campbell declined to return over a salary dispute sadly. The film mentions Sidney, shes alive and well and has taken Mark and the kids somewhere safe.
I did miss seeing Sid as shes my favourite final girl ever, but the film was so good that the story didnt need her to work. Glad shes still alive though in that universe so we can bring her back. Pay Neve Campbell anything she wants she deserves it.
Also returning was Kirby (Hayden Panettiere). Everyones favourite character from Scream 4 was brought back from the dead and now works for the FBI. She took a special interest in the ghostface killings naturally and helps them solve the case. Great idea bringing her back. Shes a great legacy character, had good chemistry with the new gang and would love to see more of her.
As for the killers....
Really liked their motive. Its Richies family. They explain they killed the film student wannabes at the start after they got everything they needed from them.
This is a great nod to the killers motives in Scream 2 which this film parallels in many ways. The most obvious of which being they go to college (the frats and sororities even have the same names as in Scream 2).
Richies family out for revenge is like Debbie Salt and the guys killed at the start are like Mickey.
Good stuff.
This is now the most killers ever to be in a Scream film which was interesting. Even if you dont count the guys at the start, three is a record.
The double knife clean from the dual ghostfaces was perfect. Out of the kids i much preffered Quinn. I thought Quinn was really great when we saw her earlier and i didnt see the twist coming that she was still alive. Her brother seemed completely boring to me during the film. Showed a lot more personality when he was revealed as a killer though to be fair. I thought Dermot Mulroney was good but the bit where he called and warned Sam about Kirby being the killer sadly was a dead give away. Its obviously not Kirby so therefore was him. I thought the three killers was really interesting. They all had brilliant deaths i thought. Love that Sam resists being a killer but when she does get to stab someone she stabs them 100 times.
Also loved the way this movie pays tribute to every previous Scream film and not just the original. Great to see underated killers like Roman Bridger get some props. The ghostface museum filled with all the previous killers costumes and other props was absolutely incredible.
After seeing this on Wednesday for the first time i was annoyed to hear there is a post credits scene that i missed. Went back yesterday and rewatched it and stayed til the end.
Its a five second clip of Mindy saying:
"Not every film needs a post credits scene".
Now theres only one thing i had a problem with.
I didnt have an issue with no main characters dying. This is rare for a Scream film but you can do it every now and again as long as get some in the next sequel. With Dewey dead and Sidney unavailable, we are running fairly short of Legacy characters so im glad Gale and Kirby lived.
I love the Core Four so glad they all lived. But for gods sake you have to sell the stab wounds a bit more. Chad got stabbed like a million times, its fine for him to survive the film but make it seem believable, there is no way someone could live through that.
Mindy was even worse. Stabbed twice directly im the guts. So less than Chad, but not only did she survive but she was running around unphased 30 minutes later with the explanation that they gave her strong drugs? I absolutely loved the subway stabbing scene so will give it a pass. Very creepy and loved all the iconic horror costumes people had.
Scream 6 has topped the box office with an opening weekend of 44million plus domestically making it the best debut for any Scream film ever. Its been getting rave reviews from fans and critics and currently stands at a 7.4 on imdb. With all that happening its all but guaranteed we will have another Scream movie on the way before long.
What a time to be alive.
Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli Olpin.

Alex seemed to read Matthew's thoughts. "Gene wanted to give the old place a fresh new start given its history under its previous owner." Matthew fully noted the jab Alex gave him, yet another though came to mind. "Is..Professor Terror still around?" Matthew hesitantly asked. "No he is not." Alex growled. His demeanor calming down a bit when he noticed Becky flinching from his harsh tone. "He is a villain again, but with a different gimmick. He didn't become one on his own free will this time." Alex spoke with a solemn expression. Matthew, Carl, and Steven looked at him with alarm expressions. Tristan interrupted the others while still holding onto Becky and Bob. "It's best for you to see yourselves rather than just explain it. Let's go inside now." Carl and Steven glanced at each other with worry. Carl thought back to Alex's words earlier about how Gene was not in the best condition. 'Was Gene being made into a villain again somehow connected to that?' Carl thought with dread. He really hoped things weren't bad as Alex said they were. Unfortunately he would be proven wrong.
Dr. Two Brains paced around the lair, looking very apprehensive and nervous. He still had so many questions, but he knew he had to wait until Tristan and Alex came back with Bob and those other people. 'I really hate waiting.' Dr. Two Brains thought with a gruff. Near him the chaotic four, Jenkins' boyfriend Joe, Tristan's brother Alan, and his henchmen were staring at the pacing mad scientist with worry and concern. Jenkins didn't want the mad scientist getting worked up again, but he knew there wasn't much to do while they waited for Tristan and Alex to return, so he let the mad scientist pace. Soon the garage door opened up causing everyone to freeze and turn towards the sound. Jenkins soon saw it was Tristan and Alex who were back with the three men and...'Wait a second is that Bob?' Jenkins thought with sudden shock as he could now finally see the monkey that was in Tristan's grasp. The poor monkey looked like Frankenstein's monster with all that stitching and metal stuff poking out from his flesh. A shiver ran down Jenkins' spine, fueled by anger and horror. 'Just what were Becky and Bob put through? What kind of monster would do that to an animal?' Jenkins was so wrapped up in his emotions and thoughts that were focused on Bob, that he didn't notice the fearful and trembling expressions his best friend Archie and boyfriend Joe were displaying as their gaze was focused on one figure in particular. A loud voice soon directed everyone's attention to the little monkey girl that was standing there with Tristan
"B..BECKY!" Dr. Two Brains yelled with elated joy. He couldn't believe it. His daughter was alive! He kicked himself for not recognizing her on the screen earlier. The mad scientist had no idea why she looked more like a monkey now, but he didn't care. 'My pinky's back!' Dr. Two Brains thought joyously. He didn't notice the condition of Bob nor did he pay close attention to the other three men in the room. Dr. Two Brains raced towards his daughter, eager to scoop her up in his arms and hold her close, never letting her out of his sight again. Dr. Two Brains reunion with his pinky was stopped midway when Becky let out a frightened monkey screech. She leaped out of Tristan's grasp and scurried away to hide behind one of the man. Dr. Two Brains stopped in his tracks. His expression filled with confusion and hurt. Why did his pinky run away from him? Why did she look at him with such a terrified and fearful look. Why was she hiding behind one of the.. Dr. Two Brains froze, stunned. He finally got a good look at the man his daughter was cowering behind. "YOU!" Dr. Two Brains growled. On instinct, we immediately whipped out a ray he had on him and aimed it directly towards the man. "I don't know how you got out or what you are doing here, but step away from my pinky right now or I will send you to a cheese filled grave!" Dr. Two Brains gave off a frightening visage. His teeth bared with a fierce and enraged expression. Eye glaring at Matthew filled with anger and hate toward the man who Two Brains had the unfortunate circumstance of sharing genetics with. Matthew blinked with a stunned expression as he now recognized the mad scientist standing before him. "Gene? Is that you?" Matthew spoke with a shocked tone. Dr. Two Brains continued to glare, but a malicious smirk began to form on the corner of his lips. "Sorry Maddrix, Gene's not here right now. But I Dr. Two Brains would be glad to deal with you on his behalf." Dr. Two Brains taunted, letting out a small, evil chuckle. @dualnaturedscientist
Fair City vs The Facility Revised
Matthew felt someone tug at his clothes. He looked down and saw an anthropomorphic monkey girl stare at him with pleading eyes. Matthew sighed. "Really again?" He asked in a slightly annoyed tone of voice. The little girl didn't seem to notice and just nodded her head vigorously. "Okay hop on." Matthew spoke in a defeated tone as he bent down and let the monkey girl climb on his back. The little girl put her arms around Matthew's neck gently but firmly so as to not fall of while he walked. Matthew tenderly got up and began to catch up with the other members of the party who had stopped when they noticed him and the girl lagging a bit behind. "Everything alright?" Carl asked with some concern. Matthew just gave a shrug towards his former partner. "She wanted another piggy back ride. She's probably getting tired again." Matthew stated. He didn't mind giving the strange child a piggy back ride. It brought back fond memories of when he did it with his own kids. But that was back when he was younger and didn't have to walk for so many miles on foot. Carl gave him a sympathetic look. He knew that they were all getting exhausted and a bit hungry as well. It didn't help that he and Matthew were both old men in their sixties. His nephew Steven, the young girl, and the bizarre looking monkey could make it on foot better than they could. Sadly even the youngest members of their group were also feeling the effects of hunger. Unfortunately none of them could right now afford the luxuries of finding a place to stop and eat nor hitchhiking with a kind stranger. For good reasons. They had fled a week and a half ago from a horrible place that could be described as hell on earth. A well hidden lab facility where each of them were taken and basically kept as prisoners. 'Well in Matthew's case it was more of a transfer.' Carl thought. Though deep down he still dreaded to think what would have happened to Matthew if they were still back there. He and Steven were kidnapped and forced to work for that facility twenty years ago. They were treated no better than the prisoners with the exception of not becoming latest test subjects if they behaved. Matthew was transferred there about a month back which was how he met his ex again. Carl was aghast and more enraged with these people. Were his tormentors not only power hungry but also stupid? Carl would soon realize that his views of the facility would be very accurate. Sometime ago an explosion had occurred at the facility. During the chaos and confusion, Matthew broke out and rescued Carl and Steven. None of the trio of men knew what was causing this outbreak until they ran into a young girl. Not only was her abnormal monkey appearance a surprise, but the fact that she was floating in mid air like nothing also caught them off guard. Carl believed he and the others shared the idea that this poor girl had caused the explosion that lead to their escape. Who knows how long she was a prisoner at that awful place. The three men were able to escape with her and were soon joined by a genetically altered monkey who seemed to take particular interest in protecting the child. The group set off to find a way to get to a safer location and far away from that facility as possible. They had to avoid any help out of slight fear of running into people that worked at the facility who survived. It was also difficult to seek aid due to the appearance of the monkey and Matthew who would for sure cause an unnecessary mass panic. Carl also had another mission in mind. He hoped to find the family of the little girl and her monkey friend. That too proved difficult as she couldn't speak in human tongue nor did she seem to understand much of what they said. Carl and the others took note with both anger and sorrow that the young girl and monkey seemed wary and fearful of Carl and Steven at first. Carl didn't realize why until he looked at Steven and his own lab gear. He saw how the girl and monkey seemed to be transfixed in fear at the clothing. @erraticeris @dualnaturedscientist

The new day came with small raindrops, and you started to wake up. Every single morning, there was this small moment of peace in your mind. Where you didn't remember that you were hosting an alien, or that you were completely terrified about everything. However, the sound of an alarm bouncing back and forth between the walls of your room, brought you back to reality. As you sat down on your bed and stretched your body, you remembered the events of the previous night. You didn't feel like you owned Wanda an apology, on the contrary, to you the redhead should have never been there on the first place.
The mornings in the compound usually were calm and quiet. Each of the team members had their own routine to make themselves busy. Wanda normally was the person who would take over breakfast, since she loved making sure that everyone had eaten before starting the day. Natasha, on the other hand would train with Steve or Sam as she liked to keep herself fit. And Tony would finish some crazy project on the lab alongside Bruce. Everyone had their own thing to do in the mornings, which made you feel a little bit better about having to live with others. You didn't have to worry about small talks on the kitchen or explaining Venom's weird diet. As the morning came to an end, Tony called everyone to the meeting room.
"Gather children, we have a new mission." He explained as he made his way to the main screen.
"Good morning to you too" Sam joked making her way to the closest chair.
You studied every single move that each member made. You didn't trust them yet. You had no idea how they worked, so you just stood there by the window, occasionally moving your eyes from the floor to look at the screen.
"We got a hint that a member of hydra plans an attack on a warehouse. Same old thing, go kick some asses and save the day." Tony continued.
"What's his name?" Bucky asked. You weren't paying a lot of attention. Since to you the details weren't important, at the end of the day, your only mission was to kill every single hydra agent, like you once promised yourself.
"Br-Brock Rumblow." Tony replied while reading the name on the file. "What kind of name is that?" However, that name caught your attention. To you Rumblow was a traitor, a pariah that need to be exterminated. You didn't care If he had important information that could be valuable. You were going to kill him, no matter what.
Once the meeting finished and everyone went to their respective room to get ready for the mission, the team flew over a small town and prepared themselves to start the mission. You were assigned to team up with Steve, since it was your first mission, and Wanda who was Steve's usual partner.
"And remember, this place is expected to be surrounded with hydra agents. Be careful." Steve exclaimed while adjusting his parachute. Soon after, you placed yourself next to Steve and the tree of you jumped out of the quinjet.
The trio landed outside the warehouse and hide themselves, waiting for Natasha and Bucky to land at the other side of the building. Once you got the signal from Natasha, you made your way in. As soon as you sat foot inside the building, a large group of armed man approached you. Prepared to kill whomever tried to stop their plan.
"Let's see what you've got Y/N." Steve exclaimed looking at you who was cracking your fingers to sign that you were prepared to fight.
In that moment you let Venom out, and your body was slowly covered by the creature's. Wanda, who was carefully looking at the transition, was shocked to see how the alien emerged from inside you.
"We are ready." Said the voice of the creature inside of your body. However, your voice was deeper, since it was Venom who was in control now.
Venom immediately started running and bouncing its body through the walls, and it aggressively landed right in front of the armed group of hydra man. Any human would be terrified when encountering such creature, and that group definitely was. Without second guessing, the group stared firing their guns, however, none of the bullets was able to harm the creature, leaving the agents speechless. Venom's anger and eager to kill grew with every shot that touched its body. In seconds, the alien had ripped some of the agent's head and thrown others to the wall, making them die instantly. With the path now cleared Venom submerged to your body, leaving you in front of a pile of corpse.
"Why do you always have to make a mess?" You asked rhetorically to the creature while fixing your shirt.
"That was..." Wanda started saying. However, she was cut before she could finish her sentence.
"...violent" Steve finished.
You stood there waiting for Steve to lead the way. You weren't keen on playing under somebody's orders, but you respected Steve's leadership and waited on him.
The three of you continued fighting enemy agents along your way to the south side of the building. You weren't sure about Rumblow's location, but you knew that he was there preparing an attack which needed to be stop. Right after Steve finished punching some of the agents remaining, Sam spoke.
"Guys we have a problem" He said while flying around the building. "More men are coming"
And indeed they were. Out of nowhere the room where Wanda, Steve and you were was now full of hydra agents.
"I see Rumblow, he's heading to the top of the building" Sam told the team through coms. The moment you heard the hydra agent's position you ran as fast as you could leaving Wanda and Steve fighting alone.
"Y/N! Where are you going? Come back!" You heard Steve calling you, but you were determined to complete the job. "Wanda go with her, don't let her do anything stupid."
"But..." She hesitantly answered but she was cut by Steve again.
"You go, I finish here." And Wanda left the room, leaving Steve fight a group of armed men.
You ran as fast as you could. You were not going to let the enemy escape, not under your watch. Despite the current mission given to you, your truly mission was to kill every hydra man and woman, even if you died doing so. Finally, you made your way to the top of the building, where you were able to see your target.
"Rumblow!" You shouted to catch the agent's attention. "Long time no see."
The moment the agent heard your voice he stopped and turn his face around to see you. Even thought you and him were meters apart, he noticed your clear anger.
"What a surprised. I must admit that I did not expect to see you here today." He said as he slowly started to walk backwards to the helicopter that was parked nearby.
"You know, I was going to let Venom eat you, but I guess I'm going to kill you myself." You said and started to run on the direction of the agent.
Before you could reach the man, your attention was caught by Wanda, who was running towards you. However, with your eyes focused on the girl, Rumblow took out his gun and shot the red head's leg before starting to run again.
"Say 'Hi' to your mother for me." He shouted stepping in the vehicle. And before you could see, the helicopter was already taking off.
Unfortunately, both you and Wanda failed to notice that the top of the building was covered with explosive devices, and both of you were now trapped. The moment that the helicopter left the rooftop, Rumblow pressed the button and the first bombs stared to explode.
Right after the first one, the other bombs started to explode , and you had to make a decision. You could use Venom's strength to jump and grab the helicopter preventing Rumblow to escape. Or you could save Wanda. Sure, the most heroic thing was to save the girl that was bleeding out in the ground. But at the end of the day you were no hero, you didn't consider yourself worth of such title. However, you knew that you couldn't let the girl die. It would jeopardize your only chance to take hydra down.
"Guys we need to leave NOW!" You heard Sam saying through coms.
"No! Wanda and Y/N are still on the rooftop" Steve replied.
"I'll get Wanda. You guys leave!" You aggressively exclaimed as you ran towards Wanda. You hated that situation, having to be a part of a team, but you hated yourself more for not being able to finish your job. Why did you have to care about others? But before you could second guess you decision you changed to Venom, grabbed the witch by her hip, and pull her into your arms.
"What are you doing?" She weakly asked.
"Saving your god damn life." You answered while running from the explosion to the edge of the roof.
And before one of you could say anything, you were both being sent away by the expansive wave of the remanning bombs. While on the air, Venom grabbed Wanda in a way it could protected her when hitting the ground. And it did.
Once on the floor, you groaned as you felt the pain of the landing. You stood up and went to check on Wanda, who was unconscious and injured on the floor. To your luck, you both had laded far away from the quinjet, and going back wasn't an option, since the area was now full of armed man and both of you coms were broken. So instead, you grabbed Wanda and made your way to the nearest building.
After walking for half an hour with an unconscious body, you found an abandoned house where you could rest. You weren't tired but you knew that the girl in your arms needed medical attention or she would bleed to death. You gently placed Wanda on the floor, to kicked the door open. Once the the object was no longer on your way, you grabbed the girl and walked inside the house.
Half and hour had passed. The small rain had now turned into a big storm, and you had placed Wanda next to the fire place so she would be warm. With Wanda still unconscious you started to cut the red head's trousers so you could have a better look at the leg. You placed a bucket with water next to her and grabbed and piece of clothing to clean the wound. However your actions cause the girl to wake up.
"What happened" She weakly asked with a confused look on her face.
"You were shot." You answered without taking your eyes of Wanda's leg.
"Where are we?" Wanda asked again. However, you didn't reply. You grabbed a pair of scissors that you found so you could use as tweezers and put your hand on Wanda's leg so it wouldn't move.
"Stay still. This is going to hurt" You warned the girl and introduced the pair of scissors inside the wound.
Wanda let a groan of pain escape her lips as she felt the metallic object touched her leg. You quickly removed the remaining bullet and cover the wound with the piece of clothing that you already had.
"Thank you." Wanda said as she compose herself.
"Try not to move. As soon as the storm stops I'll get you to the compound." You replied.
The room fell a deep silence. You were too focused on creating a plan on your head where both of you would return safe. And Wanda didn't dare to say anything. To her you weren't a friendly person with whom she could have a conversation. Since you made it clear with your attitude that you hated having to be stuck with her.
Both of you were caught inside a house with one and other, and you could do nothing about it.

Hello. So, as I understood for the amnesia!verse, the Bats now have a name and a face for reader after the online search. Request:
Will they show the results to Dick? Will he remember? When/how will the Batfam find reader, in which circumstances?
This is kinda eating me... (in a good way, of course, I'm invested) I'm hoping for a happy ending :)
Bruce looked at the picture, Dick kissing your temple as he held you, wrapped in a towel on the beach. A picture from the honeymoon, no doubt.
"They were happy, Alfred." Bruce said quietly.
"It looks that way, Sir," Alfred answered, setting down a mug of tea, "But I think we should proceed with-"
Behind them, a pained, breathless scream and the shatter of ceramic on the floor made them both whip around. Only to see Dick standing there looking lost. Looking shocked. And looking horrified as one memory- you. What happened to you slammed back into him at full force.
"Honey? Oh god. Oh my fucking god," he gasped, wrapping his arms around himself, rocking, "I have to find- fuck. Oh fuck. The last thing I said. I can't. Jesus Christ."
Bruce bolted out of his chair and wrapped his arms around Dick, pulling him away from the ceramic on the floor. Worried that in his agony he might hurt himself. "Easy," Bruce said, tightening his grip as Dick dissolved into agonized sobs.
"I have to find her-"
"We're looking," he said, keeping his voice firm but gentle. "We're looking but we need your help. I need to know anyone who might want to hurt her. Either to get back at her or to use her to get to you."
"I can't- the last thing I told her was to shut up," he panted. "I told her to shut the fuck up. I told her to leave me alone-"
"You can apologize when we bring her home," Bruce said, satisfied when the pressure of being bear hugged did its part to ground him- to force his anxiety back down.
"Honey never asked for this Bruce," he said, looking up at the screen, swallowing hard, "She didn't even know- god she must be terrified."
"Does she have any enemies?" Bruce asked.
That, unexpectedly made Dick snort, "Pansy Bright at the library maybe. She keeps blocking her expansion project at town council meetings."
"Is she angry enough to hurt her?" Bruce asked.
"Pansy is 94-"
"Everyone is a suspect," Bruce said. They had precious little to go on. But maybe- now that Dick could remember what he was looking for- he'd be able to point them in the right direction.
