@lightcycler ugh, this website. Couldn't figure out what post you were tagging me in, and mobile wouldn't show me. I can't find the post on my own blog, but I do remember somewhat, what I wrote. I wrote something along the lines that the only woman my boyfriend (now husband) is allowed to love more than me is his mother. That is of course purely subjective to our situation, because everyone's is different. I have met people who didn't have a good mother, who was downright nasty to their kids. I get that. I don't remember my mom ever being loving towards me, but I do very vividly remember her making this very angry face where she'd bite her tongue and then grab me (oh and she also smashed my little brother's head into the toilet seat when he was an infant, and I was 4 but I bet you, she don't remember that) As I got older, she would kind of "deny" that I was not a young child anymore. She kinda has this "superiority complex" about her I often think my parents (especially my mother) shouldn't have had kids, because they brought their own trauma onto me and my brother. Still I'm a bit hestitant to call it abuse in my case, because I see people who've had it so much worse, and now that my dad is dead, and my mother lives 1000km away I can relax. I can talk to her yes, (she came to be a witness to my wedding ceremony, yes, but I was relieved when she left, because while it's not abuse, she does have some habits, that are downright irritating) I have a friend from Washington. She's 67. I've known her since 2010. We've never met irl, but if I had the chance to, she would get the biggest hug from me. I can't really get myself to hug my mother. It just feels icky and wrong. So, yes I get it 100 % But my husbands mother was friendly towards me from the get-go (wild I know, since MILs have a bad rep.) When she died I cried in the shower, and after we had seen her for the last time in the coffin, I cried the entire way home from the hospice (12 minutes on the highway) I'm wearing her ring as my wedding band, and there doesn't go a day where I don't think about or miss her, despite the fact that I just met her spring this year. One of the things I wish was different, was that she could have been at the wedding ceremony. Luckily my husband has a great stepdad (who is taking care of the little brother) who became one of the witnesses. My husband misses his mom immensely too. When we went to pay respects at the flag where his mom had worked for a while, half of my attention was on him, to see how he was holding up. But that's just my/our story. Everyone is different. And if someone cannot love their mom, I see 0 % problems with that

Strixhaven Students: Prismari
In this five-part series, I’ll be creating a brand new Dungeons and Dragons character who would call one of the colleges of Strixhaven home. Each character will be built using content released in either published books or in Unearthed Arcana (UA) documents, such as the recently released Mages of Strixhaven UA.
Today, I’d like to introduce you to Fizzik Mythstone, Inspired Loremaster.
Tumblr media
Art by ArtDeepMind - Link
From his earliest memories, Fizzik Mythstone seemed destined to join the family ranks in attending Strixhaven and being a student of Lorehold: there were many famous artificers amongst his relatives, including his uncle Hofri Ghostforge. As part of the family business, Fizzik's father trained young Hofri in the mystical arts of artifact restoration.
However, Hofri dreamed of what life could be beyond his family's plans, for Hofri had a love of the performing arts. As they worked in the family forge, Fizzik’s father would tell him the stories of the ancient weapons they worked on and the heroes who had wielded them. Hofri absorbed these tales, imagining how they could be adapted and performed. Eventually, he acted on his creative impulses and began to turn those stories into plays. And as he dreamt of larger stories, he began to learn different forms of magic to augment his productions.
When the time came to attend Strixhaven, he took his various skills and made a name for himself within his first year. Using the grand library of the Biblioplex, he even developed new methods of artifice that could be used for the stage. He eventually drew the attention of the two Prismari Deans, who offered him a place in their college.
Starting Stats (using the Standard Array)
Strength: 14
Dexterity: 13
Constitution: 8
Intelligence: 15
Wisdom: 10
Charisma: 12
Fizzik’s primary skills are his intelligence and ability to apply research that he has uncovered. He was trained from an early age to be an artificer, so spent a lot of time lifting heavy weights around the shop and then deftly moving between the various shelves. This ability came in handy when he started to work behind the scenes in various stage productions.
Race: Hill Dwarf
Fizzik comes from a long line of dwarves. When it came to looking at which sub-race to choose, I eventually settled on being a Hill Dwarf, as the Mountain Dwarf build felt like a more martial character; as Fizzik will show you, his skills lay in an arena different from the battlefield. The nice part about the dwarf race is that you get a +2 to Constitution, which helps to even out his “dump” stat.
Proficiency: Mason's Tools
Background: Entertainer
Throughout his youth, Fizzik's greatest joy came as he recreated tales of history for audiences. And while he was decent enough at acting the parts, he found greater value in the arts surrounding the theater: script writing, set and costume design, and directing. This was much to his parents' disgruntlement, unfortunately, as they (especially his father) felt that this pursuit was frivolous.
Proficiencies: Acrobatics, Performance, Disguise Kit, and Lute
Level 1: Artificer (Level 1)
Fizzik was trained by his father from a young age in the family business: artifact restoration. In his workshop, they examined ancient weapons, finely glazed pottery, and old books with brittle pages. As they worked, Fizzik learned about the spells and enchantments that wizards from eras past would place on them. And although he found the work a bit tedious, hearing the tales of history from his father as they worked sparked his imagination.
While Fizzik began his journey as an artificer, he eventually multiclasses so that he can pick up the Mage of Prismari subclass, which isn't offered to the artificer in this UA. In order to differentiate the types of magic learned between them, Fizzik specializes in different types of spells depending on his class. As an Artificier, these are Transmutation spells.
Starting Class Proficiencies: Arcana, History, Carpenter's Tools
Spells:
Cantrips: Mending, Prestidigitation
Leveled Spells: Catapult, Feather Fall
Level 2: Wizard (Level 1)
In his spare time, Fizzik would develop plays based on the stories he had heard about ancient heroes and the artifacts they wielded. He held his productions at a community center where the elderly dwarves would congregate after they retired. And while his productions were decent, he had dreams about making them grander.
One day while looking through some ancient histories, he came across a leather-bound tome, The Magiks of Theatre. Sneaking the book away into his private collection, he spent any free moment poring over its pages. He quickly mastered all sorts of new spells and began to implement them into his storytelling productions.
As mentioned before, in order to differentiate the types of magic learned between them, Fizzik specializes in different types of spells depending on his class. As a Wizard, these are Evocation and Illusion spells.
Spells:
Cantrips: Dancing Lights, Firebolt, Ray of Frost
Spellbook Spells: Burning Hands, Color Spray, Disguise Self, Silent Image, Thunderwave
Level 3: Artificer (Level 2)
Eventually, the fateful day came, as it had for many generations of his family: he was accepted to attend Strixhaven University. With one final, "Don't forget that Lorehold is in your blood," from his father, he was out of the house and feeling more free than he had ever been.
He loved most everything about this new experience; he even enjoyed the Basics of Archeology class his father had insisted on him taking, due to an exceptionally engaging Kor professor. But most of all, he loved discovering the countless mysteries held within the Biblioplex.
There, he uncovered some ancient texts from places of which he had never heard, such as the Undercity of Ravnica. He learned about some secret arts, in which various magic inks that could contain certain spells. These spells could then be cast by those on whom the ink was painted or tattooed (depending on the ink's properties), regardless of their own spellcasting abilities (or even lack thereof). He immediately saw how this could augment some ideas he had for some theater productions. After months of experimentation, he was able to replicate them via artificer infusions, a skill he had learned from his father.
Infusions:
Enhanced Arcane Focus
Replicate Magic Item - Masquerade Tattoo
Replicate Magic Item - Moodmark Paint
Replicate Magic Item - Spellwrought Tattoo, 1st Level
Spells:
Leveled Spells: Expeditious Retreat
Level 4: Wizard (Level 2)
Using his ink techniques and his knowledge from The Magiks of Theatre, Fizzik began to produce some plays starring his friends and other fellow first-year students. Word soon spread, eventually coming to the attention of Deans Uvilda and Nassari of Prismari.
After one especially rousing retelling of The Saga of Hafwyt the Curious, the two Deans approached Fizzik after the show. They congratulated the Dwarf for his retelling. Dean Uvilda commented on the brilliant use of his magic ink to create Illusory costumes, while Dean Nassari gushed over the various spells used to create lighting and sound effects. And together, they extended the invitation to join their college.
It was what Fizzik had dreamt of for a long time, as several of his friends he had made also belonged in Prismari. But he was hestitant to do so, kept back by his family's expectation for Lorehold.
One day, his famed Uncle Hofri came to give a guest lecture on artifact restoration for Fizzik's archeology class. Hofri managed to grab Fizzik as class ended, requesting they grab a bite to eat together to catch up. During that time, Hofri noticed something about his nephew. With a gentleness Fizzik didn't expect, Hofri gave him the space to open up about the Prismari offer. After a moment passed, Hofri said the following:
"You know, everyone's path to greatness is their own. If everyone trod the same path as everyone else, we would never have amazing stories to tell. Tell you what; I'll worry about uncovering history, and you be the best storyteller you can be so that everyone else can hear about it and discover it themselves."
That statement of support meant everything to Fizzik, and he accepted the offer from the Prismari Deans later that day.
Subclass: Mage of Prismari
Creative Skills: Two additional skill proficiencies
Athletics and Nature
Kinetic Artistry: You can dash as a bonus action. When you do, you can do one of the following: Boreal Sweep, Scorching Whirl, or Thunderlight Jaunt
Spells:
Spellbook Spells: Illusory Script, Magic Missile
Level 5: Wizard (Level 3)
Fizzik's knowledge of the theater grew leaps and bounds as a student in his new college. He began to adapt more intricate stories of legends past, and his productions moved to the large Prismari stages. Soon, crowds from Strixhaven and across Arcavios were in attendance of his shows. Even his uncle Hofri came periodically, especially if Fizzik had adapted a dwarven myth to the stage. But his parents never seemed to have the time to attend; there was always too much work to be done in the shops at home.
Spells:
Spellbook Spells: Blur, Continual Flame
Tumblr media
Concept Art for Prismari Campus
After level five, I see Fizzik continuing to progress as a wizard, which has stronger ties to his time as a Prismari student. If I were to advance Fizzik in levels of Artificer, I would most likely pick Battle Smith as his class, with the Steel Defender being his primary stage hand for his many shows. I also see a time when he eventually reconciles with his family, especially since he has support from his uncle, the legendary Hofri Ghostforge.
Now, I will turn it over to you. If you were to play a character from Prismari College, what type of character would you build?
Next, we’ll be meeting a character from Silverquill.
Getting the word out: @flavoracle @kor-artificer @askkrenko @vorthosjay @wizardsmagic

Hear me out, people.
Have you seen this post?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve heard soooo many times “Kataang doesn’t have chemistry! T hat’s why zutara it’s better!” Or “Katara didn’t love Aang! She never really loved him! Aang loved her more!”. I understand everything, really, I’ve once thought about that too, but listen.
Love comes in unexpected ways and when you least expect it.
Aang loved (or had a crush whatever, don’t be specific) Katara since the fist episode in book one, but Katara knew she loved him in book two (for me, she realised it in the last episode of book two). There are a few episodes in book one or book two that show how she was starting to love him, but she didn’t realised it until the third book.
There are some examples of episodes that are in the first two books about this development. For example, in season book one: the Fortuneteller. This episode LITERALLY make us want to believe that Kataang was never going to happen. Whoever, Katara was told by Aunt Wu that she was going to marry a powerful bender. Of course, she was think a tall, muscular, buddy guy but little did she know that it was Aang who Aunt Wu was talking about, the skinny, sweet boy. Another example can be the cave of the two lovers, where Aang and Katara have their first kiss. That episodes it’s so lovely in every dam way, both of them blushing while leaning for the kiss as the light of the torch dies slowly... idk it’s perfect.
Tumblr media
I have the belief that Katara realised how much she cared about him in the end of the second book, in the episode The Crossroads of Destiny, when Azula shot lighting at Aang and almost killed him. Actually, she did kill him. I can picture Katara being in that horrible situation: having her best friend in her arms, actually dead, with Azula and Zuko looking down ate her. I get it (I understand, I’ve never being in that situation and I hope I never do).
Katara saw her friend, her family, falling and falling, dead, unable to protect himself. She surrounded herself in water and, with no hestitation, almost flew to Aang. She caught him and looked at her enemies, their enemies. Fun-not-so-fun-fact: hat frame is inspired by a Michel Angelo sculpture called “Pietà”, which means mercifulness in English. Mary, young and beautiful, has Jesus dead in her arms, just like Katara had Aang in hers. In ATLA, Iron helped her escape and the next scene on which we see Aang and Katara it’s with the rest of the gaang (plus the king) on Appa.
In that moment, Katara must have felt so helpless and powerless. Aang was lying there and Katara was right next to him. He was dead. Actually dead. She looks at him, full of concern, thinking what she could do to save Aang. To save him, she esed the only thing she took from the South Pole: the water from the spirit oasis. It had special properties and maybe that could save Aang. She took off the necklace and used all the water with him. The thing is it didn’t work at first. Katara expected a light in less than a second. However, that didn’t happen. It took a few more seconds, but she thought Aang was dead, actually dead, in front of her. The avatar, the person who was supposed to save the world, was in her arms, dead. Not only that, but the person that was with her every day for months, her best friend was gone. He was way more than that to her. So much more than just a “best fiend”.
It only took a few more seconds to see Aangs arrow shine. Katara saw him and grabbed him by his shoulders. He opened his eyes and gave her a little smile. Th face that Katara makes when she sees he’s okay is so beautiful, so hopeful. The relief you can see everywhere in her body and face it’s undoubtedly what anyone would do if they see their loved one allrigh .
Tumblr media
That face it’s not something I can ignore, you know?
The thing is: Aang had a great development about this love situation too. Throughout the season, he became more handsome (kuzon, beautiful) and confident. You guys remember the dance in the episode the headband, right? You can see how confident he has become and in proud of my little champ. And in the day of the black sun? He kisses her because he didn’t know if he was going to come back ((That’s sad, but okay, war)). In that moment we all realise that they both like each other but, as Katara said in the episodes ember island players, it wasn’t the right time because they were in the middle of a war and had other things to worry about.
As it’s known, falling in love takes time, always. You have to get to know the person first. Katara literally saw Aang like her little brother or someone who was just a 12 years old. Of course she wasn’t in love with him! Of course she didn’t see him that way! She’d never tried looking at him like something else than that. This has happened so many times.
I believe that Kataang it’s a completely different story. Since the first episode, Katara was ready to give up everything she had to help him save the worl (and to have a wateberung master, but shuhs). Aang didn’t have anything, but I’m sure he’d have done the same for her. We can see how they became closer and closer each season and thank you to Konietzko and Di Martino for letting us appreciate their character and friendship development.
For forever, a Kataang fan.

All-Glitch Pokemon Blue Run Pt16: Approaching Destiny
The following is a series of texts exchanged between the devices of Professor Gingko and his assistant, June, dated 8/15/97. This document is for the personal information and use of the designated recipiet only (i.e., “for your eyes only”). It is not to be shared.
Tumblr media
P Gingko 3:34 pm
June? Are you still out working with D4 in the Mansion? You've been gone quite a long time now. I was hoping for a status report.
Junebug  3:46 pm
ya got sidetracked sorry
P Gingko 3:47 pm
Side-tracked doing what?
Junebug  3:49 pm
um
Junebug  3:49 pm
I'll tell you but promise you won't be mad, ok?
P Gingko 3:50 pm
I won't be mad as long as you don't give me a reason to be mad.
Junebug  3:52 pm
I'm sort of in Viridian City right now
Junebug  3:52 pm
and, uh, I just finished fighting the gym leader. did yoy know the Viridian Gym leader was Giovani?
P Gingko 3:53 pm
What on Earth possessed you to do this, June? Did I not *specifically* instruct you no more gym battles or trainer fights? You know we're trying to keep a low profile!
Junebug  3:53 pm
ok see you're getting mad
Junebug  3:53 pm
look, I had a reason
Junebug  3:54 pm
I heard on the news that the Viridian Gym was accepting challengers again, and somebody was speculating the leader of the gym was actually this giovani guy
Junebug  3:54 pm
and like it was acting as his sort of cover. you know, the dude who is in charge of team rocket? those losers who keep smuggling pokemon and stuff? and they were RIGHT, it totally was giovani
P Gingko 3:56 pm
I fail to see why this is relevent. What does it matter if the Gym leader is Giovani? You still shouldn't have challenged him, especially in front of so many witnesses.
Junebug  3:58 pm
because I stopped him! I stomped him flat with my glitch pokes and he was so confused and humiliated that he swore he couldnt even face team rccket anymore. he said he's disbanding the whole organization! look i knew somebody had to take the guy down a few pegs, and I was right, it worked.
P Gingko 4:00 pm
As commendable as that is, June, this sort of thing still is best left to the authorities to deal with. Let the police and investigators handle Team Rocket. It's not the job of a busy young lady who's assisting a glitch pokemon professor on very delicate research.
Junebug  4:02 pm
Isn't it, though?
P Gingko 4:02 pm
Isn't it what?
Junebug  4:05 pm
Look, Professor. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. We've been spending months now researching these glitch pokemon. And you've spent YEARS doing it. All in super secrecy. Ever since they were discovered, its been in secret. youve been slaving away in the shadows, and all your colleagues just think youre some qwuak, some lunatic.
P Gingko 4:05 pm
The reminder is, in fact, not necessary. I'm well aware of how the academic community perceives me.
Junebug  4:06 pm
Don't you think it's about time we do something about that? We've learned so much and we have PLENTY of proof by now! We can go public about glitch pokemon and show the world what they've been missing. or misunderstanding.
P Gingko 4:08 pm
June, that's not for you to decide. The nature of our research is very important but also very sensitive. We're working with incredibly powerful forces. In the wrong hands, or if mishandled, glitch pokemon and glitch phenomenon can be devastating
Junebug  4:11 pm
Yeah but isn't that all the more reason to go forward with the truth? Sooner or later, some random person will stumble across glitches, just like I did. And who knows what will happen to them. But if we go forward and educate people, then, laws can be made, and people can learn about them, and we can all know how to deal with glitches properly.
Junebug  4:11 pm
and also people will realize we're not crazy!! you wont have to work in obscurity anymore. you can be a hero! recognized for your genius.
P Gingko 4:12 pm
Appealing to my sense of vanity won't work, you know.
Junebug  4:12 pm
its not really about the glory though, thats just a nice added bonus.
P Gingko 4:15 pm
June . . . it's not as though I have not considered these facts. I've thought about them for years. About when to go public, and how, and with what information. It is of course my ultimate goal to reveal what we've learned to the world. So that everyone can live safely and co-exist with these amazing creatures.
P Gingko 4:15 pm
But it's not as simple as just holding a press conference and proclaiming things to the world. There are so many factors to consider.
Junebug  4:17 pm
Maybe you'r over-complicating it, though. like, I had this great idea yesterday about how we can do it.
P Gingko 4:17 pm
I mean this with no offense, but I very much doubt that you've settled on a solution more sophisticated then my years of consideration has generated.
Junebug  4:19 pm
wait til you hear it before dismissing it, man
Junebug  4:19 pm
you're gonna love it
Junebug  4:19 pm
you ready to hear it?
P Gingko 4:20 pm
June.
Junebug  4:20 pm
ok so . . . .
Junebug  4:20 pm
I take my team of glitch pokemon and I beat the Elite 4 and become Pokemon Champion of the entire region.
Junebug  4:24 pm
Professor?
Junebug  4:26 pm
Professor, u still there?
Junebug  4:27 pm
c'mon man its a brilliant idea
P Gingko 4:30 pm
Get back to the lab. We're not discussing this.
Junebug  4:30 pm
Aw, cmon. What better way to prove to the whole world the power and reality of glitch pokemon? Nobody can call it phony after that, and nobody can deny them. Plus with the prestige of Championship we'll be in a position to put forth our important research and ideas on handling glitch pokes safely.
Junebug  4:40 pm
Professor, are you there?
P Gingko 4:48 pm
Get back to the lab.
P Gingko 4:48 pm
We can discuss it there.
(E-mail from one week later)
Professor,
This is the update you wanted about my journey through Victory Road. I know you’re still feeling hestitant even after all our long discussions about the plan. I hope this report can reassure you that this is going to go off without a hitch.
My first hurdle on the journey began before I could even take a single step on Victory Road. Professor Oak’s grandson had once again managed to track me down. It’s like that kid has a sixth sense for honing in on me and being annoying, I swear. He demanded a battle, so I complied.
Things were a cakewalk, but then, uhh. He sent out his Alakazam and it was . . . a lot stronger then before. By like, a lot.
He wiped my entire team. It was almost in an instant.
But that didn’t matter, because I’m no pushover trainer! Maybe I used to be, but these days I’ve learned an awful lot. So I dug into my supplies of TMs and found the perfect one. I taught Giago Thunder Wave.
During our rematch, Gia survived a hit and paralyzed the Alakazam. I knew the Zam had paltry Defense, so I sent out Fractal, who has amazing physical Attack. The Zam crumpled before us!
Tumblr media
Things were a little tight with the final foe, a level 53 Blastoise, but my team chipped him down enough that Wobbles could easily finish the job. Not bad for a team sitting at around level 35.
With that annoying kid cleared out of the way, we headed to the caves known as Victory Road.
The journey wasn’t exactly a quick one, I’ll be honest. It took a lot of tromping around, getting lost, pushing rubble out of the way, and battling trainers that had alarmingly high-levelled pokemon. I eventually decided it would probably be best if we did a little extra training. It would make the trip a bit smoother.
So we trained, and we trained hard. Our goal was for everyone to reach level 40. Not too ambitious, just around 5 levels or so. For some, it was pretty easy. Wobbles had no problems, and Gia was packing Surf. Sure, Gia’s Special isn’t great, but it was still enough to take out the local Rock/Ground types in the cave. Jasper took slightly longer to work with, but with Earthquake and Hydro Pump, he still didn’t have much trouble.
Dusty was a bit harder to train. As you know, her stats have never been incredible . . . besides her speed, that is. But she had Bubblebeam, Ice Beam and Hydro Pump, so it actually wasn’t too bad; just a little more time-consuming.
Then there was Fractal. I’ve noted before that Fractal’s defenses (both of them) are the worst of the team’s, and frankly abysmal. So training him was certainly a challenge. I opted to wander the grasses just outside of the cave, beating on Dittos and Fearows and healing a TON. It took a while, but eventually, even Fractal rose through the ranks.
Tumblr media
After Fractal, there was just Charmed left to train. It wasn’t too bad, considering how balanced Charm’s stats are. The only extra thing I needed to do was duplicate some Elixirs for Charmed. She still doesn’t trust Pokecenter nurses, so she’ll only accept heals from me. I even bought Charmed a little treat and taught her Fire Blast.
Of course, if I’d wanted to, I could have duplicated a crapton of Rare Candies and just fed them to my pokemon. But I wasn’t going to do that. After all, you told me eating too much candy isn’t healthy for pokemon, and besides, I knew they could prove themselves in battle.
And that they did. We finally cleared Victory Road’s twisted, confusing tunnels and made it outside to face the large, dominating building that housed the Elite Four.
It was time.

Siren .Chapter One.
Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: Bucky Barnes fancies you, a singer who performs at a local bar every Monday and Friday night. After a few months of attending your gigs, Bucky finally got the chance to talk to you. One problem: you are New York's sonic screaming vigilante. And the avengers have been trying to figure out who you are for months. (Post-Endgame)
Warning/s for this chapter : cursing??? Is this even a warning anymore???
Warning/s for the series: cursing, violence, eventual smut (which you can skip)
Word count: 1700+ (a little short, but this chapter is more of an introduction)
Disclaimer: I do not own the Marvel characters. The song I'm using in this chapter is 'Crowbar' by Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes.
Note: I'M FINALLY BACK. I finally found the time to commit to another multichapter fanfic, which I posted the summary to nearly half a year ago. There were people who requested to be on the taglist already months ago, and I will tag them below. If you want to get off the taglist, just let me know! (No hard feelings, preferences change!) Anyway, I apologize for the long hiatus. The reason it took so long was that I wasn't happy with how the first plot outline turned out, so I had to re do it a couple of times and even tweak the original idea a bit until I was finally happy with the plot. That, and the last few months were hectic for me. I also apologize for reuploading this for the third time, but Tumblr did not show this in the tags.
Anyway, I will be posting a new chapter every two days. Let me know if you'd like to be on the taglist!
Tumblr media
Something about punk was liberating. It was empowering. It gave freedom back to the people. Back to you. You could say whatever the fuck you wanted, wear whatever the fuck you wanted.
That's why you loved performing in New York's thriving underground scene.
You sang at bars weekly, usually just performing whenever you could get a gig, but a dive bar in Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, booked you twice a week. Mermaid's Tail was an all-ages inclusive bar you've been going to for as long as you can remember.
"We're on in 5 minutes," called Lando, pulling his bass strap over his head.
Lando has been your bestfriend throughout both your childhood and adulthood. He was also a member of your band, along with two other great friends you made along the way, Vince and Luna.
"Alright," you say, dramatically standing up from the speaker you were sitting on, a lopsided grin on your face, "let's get the party started!"
-
The stage wasn't big. Not at all. It just had a slightly elevated floor, and just enough space for Luna's drumkit and a few amps for the guitar and bass.
You head on stage, the crowd still hyped up from the ska band who played before you.
The crowd was as big as two hundred, and it was so diverse, as you liked it. People of all ages, all shades of melanin, and all backgrounds seem to enjoy the music. Some stay at the bar and enjoyed the booze.
You came on stage, a wireless microphone wrapped tightly around your fist like a baseball bat. As Vince started playing a slow and haunting guitar riff, you shouted into the microphone "How are we feeling, Mermaid's Tail?" You said, responded by a couple of enthusiastic 'woo's from the crowd.
"We are a couple of kids from Manhattan called the Submariners, here to play you a few songs. this one is called Crowbar!"
A few people who has been to one of your show recognized it and started to jump up and down. The song started quite slowly, a simple guitar riff, a low bassline, subtle drums and your voice almost a whisper.
"We all come from an explosion in the sky. One day there was nothing and the next there was life. And all the rivers and the mountains and the sun and the moon. And then all of a sudden there's a cloud of doom'
As soon as the chorus strikes, the drums became more complicated, and your voice louder to compliment the beat. The room simultaneously jumped, as if they know the rhythm by heart.
"It's a trap, and there's no comfort fitting in. A fake safety that no one believes in  And if it goes against who you think you are It's the death of happiness  Go and get the crowbar"
As the song progresses, the crowd became more elated. More energetic, more electric. As a result, you did, too.
"We all fell down from a tired dying star,Star dust on the breeze to fuckin' pick an avatar. From nothing into all and then the next thing to arrive is the terrifying fear of how you're supposed to live your life"
The beginning second chorus invited a welcomed chaos that the audience was enjoying, not caring about anything but the sounds that you make.
"People everywhere will try to bring you down. Those jealous motherfuckers they will try and take your crown"
The instrumentals quited down a bit, leaving room for your emotions, anger and rage, to seep out of your voice like honey.
"It's easier for them to put you in a box, Keep you safely locked away because they hate it when the boat's rocked. But fuck 'em all, they don't tell us who we are. So when they try and lock you up, go and get the fucking crowbar!"
You bent your vocal chords, intentionally making it crack, nearly screaming, like you were hiding in something you'd rather be showing to the world. Of course, this was not the full extent of your vocal chords, but any louder and everyone in the block would have their eardrums bleeding. Lucky for them, you knew your limits and controlled it well.
The last bit of the song, you sang freely, the crowd turning into a moshpit, eventually melting into a pot of adrenaline, sweat and excitement.
Finishing the song, you let out a sigh of relief and a chuckle, "You guys are a fiesty bunch, aren't you?"
As the crowd of 200 roared, you continued to the next song, and the next, and the next, until the gig was over.
One person caught you attention at the corner of your eye. The sharp-featured man sat at the bar with a drink, wearing a black jacket and gloves. His hair was black or brown, depending on the light, tied to a messy bun. His eyes, however, were somewhat still a mystery. He had aviator sunglasses on, though it wasn't that dark a shade. It dark enough so the color of his eyes were hidden, but light enough for you to see the movement of his pupils, where your very motion seemed to act like a magnet to his sight. Something that disturbed you was that he was always there when you were performing, downing unholy amounts of alchohol, but somehow he didn't flinch. His posture indicated that he was always sober. He was alert, never slouched, not even for one second. As much as you tried to ignore him, you couldn't shake off the paranoia.
As your show ended and the band head off the stage to the back room, Lando whispered in your ear discreetly, "Meeting in the back room. Now."
You nodded ever so slightly, and replied, "give me 10 minutes."
And with that, Lando, Vince, and Luna went one way, and you a seperate route.
-
You made your way through the crowd as a another band took the stage, a thumping rythm accompanying your movements.
You quickly spot the man on the bar. He looks like he was going to leave after finishing his drink, but you swift take a seat on the bar stool next to him. You signal to the bartender and ordered, "two beers!" You exclaimed, handing him a few bucks, "One for me, and one for the gentlemen. Keep the change."
You delicately glanced at the man, who only raised his eyebrow in fascination. Before neither of you could say anything, the bartender slid the bottles your way.
You grabbed it both, and handed one over to the man, who graciously accepted your offer.
You took a sip, then turned to face him, "And does the gentlemen have a name?"
He hestitated, but told you, "James."
"James," you said, a forced sweetness coming out of your voice. You did not bother to introduce yourself. You figured if that if he's seen you perform, he must know your name."You look familiar," you continued, "Have you been at the Mermaid's Tail before?"
"A couple of times," he admitted, taking a sip on his own.
You weren't stupid, nor ignorant. You knew it was more than a couple of times. More like a couple dozen times, but you knew better than to confront him directly. You had to coax his intentions out of him in order to get the truth.
"You like the music?" You asked, and he shrugged, easing into the conversation.You noticed the charm hidden behind his secretive demeanor. "I like the atmosphere."
You didn't know if you should believe what he said, but decided to go along with it. Nodding a little, you chugged the beer until it was half empty and pretended to lose balance on the stool, dropping the rest of the beer on the floor. You let yourself fall into James' arms, propping yourself up, pretending to regain balance. James gently helped you, while you trace every inch of his clothing, trying to find a wallet or a phone— anything that could give you a clue about his identity, but frustratingly, you can't seen to find any. He either forgot everything at home, or was smart enough not to put important things in places where he could get picked. You had a feeling it was most likely the latter than the former.
He helped you back to the bar stool, both his hands on your hips, steadying you. You were aware of the inconsistency on his left grip, as if it was somehow more certain than his right. Unfortunately, his gloves kept you from getting more information.
You forced a chuckle, "sorry," you said, "the adrenaline's still pumping. Y'know, after a gig."
"S'okay," he let out a smile as if your display of joy was contagious.
"Well," you said finally, "I think my friends are waiting for me. See you around, James?"
He nodded sincerely, "See you around."
Turning around, you could feel his eyes linger on you as you disappeared into the crowd.
-
"There she is!" Vince, rolling his eyes, when you entered the back room, "Finally!"
Vince was on a chair, Luna on the table, and Lando had his eyes glued to his laptop screen, which was on the same table Luna was sitting on.
"Done flirting with mr. sunglasses indoors?" Luna laughed, but you just took the joke lightly and shook your head. "His name is James. And there's something weird about him."
"Besides wearing sunglasses indoors?" Luna taunted the obvious with a cheeky smile, and Vince smacked her upside in the head playfully. "He is sketchy. He's been going to our gigs here for months."
"Maybe he likes music," Vince suggested, "Did you pick his pocket?" He asked, knowing that pickpocketting was your usual method of finding out who people are.
"I tried. Found nothing," you said, a hint of defeat in your voice.
"That is sketchy," Luna agreed.
"Will you shut up!" Lando complained, "I'm working here!"
"Geez," Luna said, getting up from a table, and grabbing a briefcase from a cupboard, "Someone's sensitive." She opened the briefcase, revealing a gun in it. It was a glock 19x, which she and Vince modified specifically for stealth and tactical shooting. "Did you bring the bullet rounds?" She asked Vince. He replied by tossing her two rounds, which she prepared for use. It was always this way. Luna and Vince were the weapon specialists, Lando the tech genius, and you? You did all the dirty work by yourself.
You didn't mind, though. In fact, it was addicting.
"Yes!" Lando suddenly exclaimed. He stood up and faced you, "Suit up, (Y/n)," he said, "I found another lead on our guy."
You smirked, knowing what to do.
After all, you and your misfit friends were musicians by night, a vigilante team by midnight.

Top 5 Zims in the Zimvoid
After seeing Stella/Krizland do her top five Zims, I may as well do so myself. Note that I barely hate ANY Zims whatsoever for those who’s favorites are lower. If anything, I doubt there such a thing a “most hated Zim” since I LOVE every single one of them. In my viewpoint, when I say “top 5 Zims”, it would mostly be the ones that I love them to the point where I think,draw, mention them....ALOT. And note that I will be counting down from #5 through #1 so nobody gets confused.
So without further ado, let’s get started:
Number 5: Number 1
Tumblr media
This character might be THEE BEST antagonist Invader Zim comic has ever made. Not only because of how threatening he is and look, but because of his background and his motivation.
As far as we know, as I post this, Number 1 is the most mysterious character in the arc. So much so that make fans create tons of theories about him. And the more we learn about him, the bigger the theories get. The more we learn about him, the more interesting he becomes. He’s not only a villain, but very likely a victim, as his condition is horrifying beyond any Zim and Dibs’ imagination. Whatever his motivation is, you can get a sense that it’s not good. There’s just a vibe to him makes you both scared of him yet pity him.
If this is what Sam is aiming for, than he knows damn well how to make a great villain.
ISSUE 49 UPDATE: I take it back. He’s not a victim. He’s just straight up evil and insane.
Number 4: Number 2
Tumblr media
I always imagined what the Number 2 Zim would look like before we were introduced to him. And let me just say that once they finally revealed him, I was not disappointed whatsoever. Sure I sort of expected him to be this huge and scary bodyguard of Number 1. But I think that’s what I love about him. That it turns out he’s really not. In fact that’s what I love about 1 and 2’s appearance. They don’t NEED to look too threatening in order to make them good antagonists.
Number 2 is an average looking Zim in which his only difference is that he is taller than our own Zim and wears a purple cloak that is suppose to be a mixed representation of a monk and an assassin. Which very well represents his connection to the Elite Zims’ ego. In fact he has both the representation of a worshipper/follower AND a lead soldier. Followed with him often calling the Elites his “brothers” as well as giving them extremely strict physical training. It doesn’t help that he is pretty much plays the role of Number 1’s eyes outside of his room, given he makes sure the elite’s system is stabled.
As of right now, we don’t know yet if he knows of Number 1’s true identity. But one thing is for sure is that he will do ANYTHING to please the leader so that he can become a powerful Zim as him.
Number 3: The Elder
Tumblr media
I don’t know why, but I love him. There’s a thing about him that gives him the teacher/father/grandfather figure kind of character. And the fact he’s one of the first Zim to enter the Zimvoid and that he is responsible for forming the Resistance makes him more interesting. I would REALLY love to see if he has an interesting backstory. Like...the WHOLE story of his experiences in the Zimvoid.
If they don’t do that than hell! I can make one myself!
Also, I can expect him being the type of grandfather figure that cares for each one of his members (specifically 2K and Palindrome) who would like bugging them or tricking them just so they can learn a lesson as well as playing around with them. I don’t know, I just love those types of teachers/parents.
Number 2: 2K (Number 2000)
Tumblr media
Ok. Go ahead. Bonk me. This was honestly the toughest thing to decide though. Yes, he’s baby. And don’t we all love babies. But it’s not the only reason he made it this high on the list. I think there’s more to that. Like...Sam could have honestly made 2K just a whiny and helpless infant who wants nothing more but attention like...a typical baby would do. And I wouldn’t mind whatsoever if Sam went this route.
But when you are going to make him the major character of this arc, he needs to have a PURPOSE on being a major character. Therefore, Sam was able to successfully do this by making him sort of the lead of the Resistance. Ok, I wouldn’t really call him the leader (even though he kind of is), given its already stated the Resistance has more than one leader. So I would more likely say he plays as the navigator of the gang. As well as the one who encourages the Resistance to give out their full strength in order for every Zim to succeed in taking down Number 1 and getting back home.
I also love how his character is more detailed with the fact that he is still a ZIM regardless of being a baby. This is proven with the fact he always tries to stay self-confident. Along with the fact that he’s willing to prove someone, including a Dib, that he can still be a good competitor despite his fragile looking appearance, which makes him different from his partner Palindrome.
I guess his only flaw to his character would be his....selfishness? Yes, I’m aware he is a Zim. But I still find it odd that one issue, he’s willing to join a fight and then in the next one, he decides to just hide behind the door while the rest of the Resistance are fighting. Maybe it’s a huge war he can’t handle? Who knows.
Regardless, I can’t hate him for that because of how well detailed his character is. I think his interaction with Palindrome is what also makes him a great character. I don’t think either of them would have been a great character without them being together.
—————————-
Honorable mentions
Number 100/2004/Big Zim: honestly, i can’t imagine that they would make a character from going threatening looking to someone who is just a sensitive and lovable muscular teddy bear. I just...I love him. Just...protect him at all cost.
Number 500: I honestly love that they made a Zim that is sort of a bookworm. It just would have been a little nice if we learned more about him but I can see myself reading a good fanfiction about him if someone does so.
Number 501: he’s sort of like Number 2 which is why I loved him so much before 2 entered the picture. I always see him as the one in charge of the guard and I could sort of see him playing the antagonist role in issue 46-47.
——————————-
Number 1: Palindrome (Number 2002)
Tumblr media
He is not JUST an older brother figure to 2K. He is THE EMBODIMENT of a older brother AND parental figure (mostly towards a Gir in my opinion). It’s also surprising that out of all the Zims we seen, he is the one who acts the least like....A Zim.
Like...it’s funny. Just like every Zim, he is attempting to conquer Earth and has his Dib as an enemy. And yet, he’s almost the complete opposite of our Zim.
He’s very quite, he not too confident (note the times he complained about his water, missing previous experiences/encounters etc.). And one thing. ONE important thing that makes him the complete opposite of a Zim is that he BARELY hides his EMPATHY.
As far as we know, OUR Zim would BARELY EVER show a sense of empathy. Examples like showing any sense of emotions towards his Gir (yes we have seen him show a sense of empathy to Gir few times. But he’s able to hide it to the point that it’s barely recognizable). Palindrome straight up gave a heartfelt and happy expression towards Gir for TWO panels (even excitedly and happily saying hi to Gir) before trying to brush it off by saying he didn’t miss him whatsoever....which in my opinion I totally doubt it after the reaction he just made a second ago. 2K, Our Zim, and all the other Zims barely showed any reaction towards Gir’s presence whatsoever.
And one thing our Zim would never do is to comfort someone or show a sense of lending a helping hand (you saw him abandoned people in trouble multiple times without hestitation as far as I know). The moment Pal saw a Zim crying, he went up to him to share the feelings he was going through as well as show a sense of comfort at the same time.
I think that’s what makes me love Palindrome so much. It’s not that he’s NOT a Zim. He’s a Zim but in a completely different manner. And he might kindest and calmest Zim were EVER gonna get. Not to mention....he’s adorable. He’s straight up a fish in a scuba-diving suit. If I were to imagine the kind of Zim I would create, Palindrome would be the closest to it next to 2K. Both him and his partner...they are perfect. They’re design is just perfection.
—————
And there you have it! Let me know in a reboot of what you think and if you like, tell me what YOUR favorite Zims are. Have a good day! X3

Some Cielonica shipping meme I did!
I was lazy so for the portraits I used the art I commissioned from my friend @toivoshi! (Please check them, they do amazing art and has a super cool ongoing comic series!!)
Links to templates! First (originally posted by senaizuuchan) || Second || Third and Fourth
Note: I changed the second template’s “Screams at bugs” to “Scoops bugs and throws them away” and also added a horse into the driver part since this is Fire Emblem, baybee!!
Also, more talk about these memes under the cut!!
General Ship Meme Stuff
Height Ciela has already stopped growing for a long time. Her height capped at 158 cm/5'1" feet while Veronica keeps on growing. She will eventually outgrow Ciela (maybe she'd hit somewhere 170 or even 175).
Age I never decided on their age. All I know is just Brave!Veronica (I will write as Beronica from now on) is older than Princess Veronica (just Veronica if I write her more) because she seems more mature and more stable as a person. I HC-ed that Veronica is somewhere at 13~16 y.o. while Beronica is at 18 ~ early 20s y.o. and Thrasir is already at mid 20s (maybe 26~27). Ciela in my mind has always been the age of uni/college student, or a fresh graduate who's struggling to find jobs in the world. Her background is still very much vague so I never really thought much about her age.
Falling in love Ciela is very much easily attracted to people, esp those who makes her feel really good. Her romantic disposition usually doesn't stop at anyone w/ feminine tendencies, but she just feels far more comfortable around those who identifies as female, due to multiple reasons. She doesn't mind guys in general, but they just don't get her going. Anyway, she fell in love with Beronica literally at first sight.
Beronica, due to her position, lived a more isolated life, and also is more wary of people in general. There is a limited number of people who she trusts. I HC-ed that she doesn't have much great experience with males (cause iirc her dad was a bastard) except those who she viewed with more brotherly or platonic view like her own brother or Xander. She's most likely a lesbian but also a demiromantic at the same time. Took her a while to develop her feelings towards Ciela, but after that, she's like a car without brakes.
Relationship experience Ciela had been in relationship w/ some guys before she realized she's not really into them. She never really hooked up with any girls because of some prejudice about same sex relationship where she came from, so Beronica is literally her first lesbian partner.
As mentioned above, Beronica lived quite in more isolation so she never really had any romantic relationship experience beyond the formality. She’s not awkward at them however, due to all the manners and diplomatic lessons she received. (And Beronica does have that different streaks of confidence than Veronica. The way they talk is vastly different, with Beronica showing more confidence and is more demanding in tone compared to Veronica’s more flat and reserved tone).
Affections/PDA/Protectiveness Once Beronica enters a serious relationship with Ciela (post their support thing you can read here), Beronica shows Ciela tons of affections and lavishes her with love as she realizes how great of a person Ciela is, and is a bit in a way to repay her for everything she did. Bero doesn't hestitate to hold her hand, hugs her, or even treats potential Ciela courters with much cold or threatening gaze. She'd leave "marks" on Ciela's body but since Ciela dresses very modestly, there's just no room for that, lmao. Fortunately, Bero can show great degree of professionality as a hero first and foremost and not terribly possessive in "you can't interact with people but me" way, since she understands that Ciela is a very important person in the Order of Heroes. She also trusts Ciela enough because she knows Ciela isn't really attracted to anyone else but Bero really.
Ciela mostly have treated Vero the same since the beginning. She did show a great deal of attention towards Beronica to fight off the Embla curse and for everything else really (since she was the fool who fell in love first). She's more reserved in showing her affection since she's a little shyer at times, and a bit bad at words, but she can also be clingy to Beronica, and never minds the affectionate PDA thing Beronica do to her. She also knows that Beronica is rarely ever interested in anyone else but her so things are really bueno for them.
Pet Names They call each other "my beloved" or "dearly beloved". Ciela has a secret nickname for Bero that is "Ronnie", but she uses it more privately because some early heroes who knew about this often teases them about it. They don't have other "silly" pet names because they're just that type of straightforward couple hahah.
Bonus: an alternate versison of Ciela who used to be Thrasir's SO called Thrasironica with the nickname of "night charm" and "night sky". In return, Thrasir called her "thunder" or "paradise". Both pet names are references to some important symbols in their relationship (that are quite different from present Ciela and Beronica).
Smaller stuff/trivias
“Scoops bugs and throws them away” was changed from “screams at bugs” because both Ciela and Beronica thankfully aren't afraid at bugs. They have different level of fascination towards it and behaves really differently. However, Ciela is more pacifist in her approach when dealing with pests while Beronica is more straightforward to kill.
Beronica being a princess once made her very sloppy at doing chores and cookings (I'll talk about this in the food section). She's doing her best, but ultimately Ciela or other heroes prefer to do it on their own most of the time. Beronica is good at keeping her stuff organized at least. They’d still let her do polishing or weapon maintenance since she’s very meticulate and careful. They will also let her do the horse care duty since she’s good with them.
On driving - Beronica has a very loyal horse named Randgridr (whom I don't talk about enough) so she's very good at dealing with animals in general and has great mastery on working with them. In modern AU, this just means she'd get her license as early as she could and just go everywhere with the car she owns. She's also not a clumsy driver. - Ciela eventualy gets to have a falicorn of her own (a black falicorn named Benthe whom she and Bero found when they both ran away to the mountain when Anna declared beach day) so she'd get a mastery on working with mounted animals. In modern AU, she's probably that person who has driving license but doesn't really drive unless she really has to.
On sleeping habit - Ciela is very much a night owl and has hard time getting up in the morning. She often misses roll call and at this point most people in Order of Heroes already accepted this and can proceed business as usual without her.  - Veronica is also a night owl, but this derives from her often having nightmares due to the Curse of Embla. Once meeting Ciela, her sleep quality actually improves a lot - Sometimes they do a lot of “things” at night to tire themselves out and helps them falling asleep better.
Food Meme Stuff
I imagined both of them aren't very picky eaters. Bero maybe so in the beginning, but being a royal, I imagined she has great palate and experience with foods, and was able to help improve the flavor of foods in the Order via her feedback. She generally eats anything as long as they're prepared properly. She also understand the importance of eating well being a soldier herself.
Ciela isn't picky because of her previous background not letting her eat as much as she wants so she's always eager on trying something new. She became good at cooking solely for the reason of feeding herself and some people who lived with her at some point.
Favorite Food/Drinks
Ciela likes food that tastes great both hot and cold, but she has more tongue to eat more "refreshing" food. Maybe she used to live in a tropical country...
Bero is a meat lover. She loves them anyhow they're cooked, but she mostly likes them roasted or made into meatballs and served with some juicy and sour berry sauce or jam to balance the fatty flavor.
I don't know how to describe "herbal soft drinks" better than it does, but basically soft drinks are sort of any drinks that is meant to be enjoyed lightly as opposed to alcoholic drinks, right? (though they are mostly being used to refer to carbonated drinks). So one day I had the chance to eat at an international restaurant in a hotel and for the local menu, they have these selection of "soft drinks" that are basically combination of herbs and fruits and woods that are just so??? good??? They're clear colored (some red, some green, depending on the ingredients) so maybe they're like infused drinks or filtered juice(?), and one of my favorite has peppermint, ginger, sappan wood, and lime in it. It is served cold and is also sweet (maybe they added sweetener to it). So I imagined Bero would like to drink these refreshing drinks because they taste great and possibly has great benefits for health too since they're mostly from natural ingredients.
On Cafe Drinks
I HC-ed that in Zenith, Askr grows tea while Embla grows coffee. This makes for the reason why Askrans like to drink tea a lot and Veronica in one of the FEH comic is clueless about tea brewing.
This reflects on Bero's choice of caffeine drink. She doesn't mind tea but more used to coffee. She usually takes them plain or just with milk or cream.
Ciela prefers tea because she just doesn't like the flavor of coffee. She prefers her tea chilled though. She drinks boba or jelly drink back in her world.
On Alcoholic Drinks
I think both Ciela and Bero are very modest drinker, as in they won't drink unless it's for someone else or for any important occassion.
Ciela is a moderate drinker. She holds herself very well and will definitely stop before she gets drunk and totally lose herself. When drunk however, she will get very "proper" and apologetic. She will get sad and apologize a lot, letting out much of her inner worries, and probably also auto pilots herself to properly tidy herself before she fell asleep. Some people enjoys her drunken state because finally they'll be able to find out more about her since Ciela keeps to herself most of the time.
Beronica if drunk gets on the pretty happy but sarcastic side like suddenly her words became much sharper (and honest) while she says it in very smiley face or her normal tone. She also gets far more daring. Her auto-pilot mode isn't as great as Ciela's however.
On Food
Living in Order of Heroes, everyone gets to eat properly and equally due to the strict living schedule, though Ciela gets to skimp on that sometimes since she often misses breakfast. The heroes often save an easy to eat breakfast for her so she can eat them during meetings or study or chores.
Ciela eats quite a lot. Nobody knows where all those extra calories goes. Most guesses it goes to her brain and her tiddies.
Veronica loves spicy food and Ciela can't stand them so much. She has a tongue that's pretty sensitive to the spice that'll numb her tongue and make her unable to taste anything else. It mostly saddens her because she thinks it's a great flavor and makes food exciting.
Ciela loves her sweets and bakes or cooks to feed herself. Veronica is more moderate on it, but she'd take some sweet-savory snack for herself.
That’s all for now?? If I missed anything, feel free to ask!!
Thanks for reading uwu)b

Steven Universe Review (Seasons 4 & 5)
Season 3 of Steven Universe shaked the life and world of our protagonists quite a bit. Now we take some new information and use that unravel the mysteries left behind the Crystal Gems.
I really dont even know where to start with these last chapters of the Steven Universe story. Where Season 3 felt like the best of Season 1 with a lot more expansion to world building, Season 5 felt like Season 1 and Season 3 fused to make the mega seasons that is Season 4 and 5.
The reason I call refer to these as mega seasons is because the way it accumlates pretty much every loose thread left from all previous seasons to tie up all those knots. I don't just mean for our protagonists, all the minor characters have their dedicated episodes as tradition in Steven Universe, but in these seasons these episodes tend to be more larger scale and much more satisfying for each character. We don't just see them have a silly one off interaction with Steven to give them something to do, we see these characters finally have some of their own growth as they overcome their own obstacles and internal conflicts shown in previous episodes to give them the same love we've experienced with the main protagonists.
Of course some characters are, and have been, just objectively more prominent and influential than others and we see those get even more attention as they explore their own self discovery filled adventures spanning over multiple episodes, and even tying into the main plot of the show with Steven. This makes these side plots not only enjoyable and wholesome, but gives them incentive to actually exist when these characters start to shape as much change in Beach City as everyone else.
This is incredibly important to the central plot because there are multiple moments where our protagonists find themselves just having to sit and wait as certain events unfold, but now don't have nothing to do. This is a major step up from my complaints a while ago in Season 2 where the side character stories hindered the overall experience rather than enhance it.
Another highlight of this season includes antagonist. We don't really get many from the show minus some random corrupted gems for missions (Not to say the ones we do get dont suffice. Season 1's Peridot and Jasper were phenomenal), but man these seasons were loaded with so many thought out antagonists. From minor ones, to ones lasting multiple episodes, to reoccuring ones, and of course, the big encounters with the Diamonds. These seasons satisfied all the different types of solutions for me. There were physical fights against these antagonists, there were out smarting them, there were converting them, there were losing to them which is all possible due to the *universe* the shows been building piece by piece since season 1 finally coming together perfectly. Nothing about these seasons ever felt small because how freely they were able to include what they wanted, whenever they wanted since its all been introduced on Earth and in space context giving these story elements the freedom to exist wherever they want if written well thought out enough.
Before we get into the elephant in the room, I do wanna clarify again, of course these seasons are filled with what you can expect as per Steven Universe tradition; excellent songs, top tier scenery and colors, and just all that good stuff. I know its lame to kind of just briefen that up because theyre such a core aspect of the show's great quality, but I've been saying this for several reviews and its really just be easier to reassure that its still there rather than reiterate the effects of it again.
Now that everything is about covered, we can finally about the finale. The 45 minute long special to end the series and wrap whatever is left to wrap up. Firstly, I want to state I understand why its a bit controversial. I get the complaints. And I sincerely think the flaws that get pointed out are valid. I won't get into spoilers, but all that being said, I can say that I really enjoyed the finale.
I feel that with this show, there's only so many ways in the spectrum of solutions for conflicts to be resolved in this show. Not because "its a kids show" or whatever, but because the themes and messages linked so heavily with our protagonists. Because of that, even with my own complaints, I can at least understand why the show resolved it's biggest obstacle in the finale way that it did, but I'm not just giving it a pass, because it did hinder the last episode for me a bit. However the finale also managed to squeeze in some really good stuff to balance it out (in my opinion). Some of it is more satisfying than others, some may seem last second tossed in for fan service, but objectively it was at least still really darn fun. I feel like the show wasnt entirely sure what its future would look like in terms of Cartoon Network going through with what it has planned and preferred to rush some moments rather than potentially never having those moments air at all. Unfortunately pretty much the entirety of the finale season cant be talked about without spoilers so I kind of have to leave it at that.
All in all though, I found myself satisfied enough. I was hestitant starting the show as it took me several years and a few pushes to even consider starting it when I finally did, but I will say that I do not regret it at all. Steven Universe carried so many gorgeous elements that I think about on a daily basis and just love to have welcomed into my life. Its a show I definitely plan to show the younger people in my life because I think they deserve a show like this early on their life. This was an incredible experience that marked this as my favorite animated series of all time and it's a show I ENTIRELY intend to keep talking about on this blog to express thoughts about specific moments I want to break down more.
I give these two final seasons a rating of 9/10 as the flaws and complaints I have are ones that I feel are well made up with the other episodes in these seasons having essentially peak writing for the show. That being said, I've already watched Steven Universe: The Movie and will be sharing my thoughts on that very shortly as I then join the wait for Steven Universe: Future with the rest of the lovely fan base!

✸ for a drabble about Marinette having a sex dream about Adrien
NSFW Memes NOTE 1: All NSFW will be tagged “tw: sin”NOTE 2: Muses have been aged up for sin to even happen.NOTE 3: tw: oral mention, tw: blood, and a tiny bit of tw: angst EDIT: I was actually writing this to put on my Ao3.
An akuma had completely crashed Adrien’s 19th birthday party, causing the boy in question to break his leg. Chat Noir didn’t show up, but Ladybug handled the situation well enough on her own before disappearing until next time.
“Dude. Do you have any last requests for your birthday?” Nino nervously asked.
“Just one.”
“Name it, bro! I’ll see if I can get it done!”
“I wanna have sex with Ladybug.” Adrien answered without any hestitation.
Marinette, who’d heard the question and Adrien’s answer, choked on the juice she was drinking when his words registered in her brain.
“Bro. Not cool. Not even Alya can pull that kind sway. I mean, she could post it on the public forum but…”
“I know, I know…” Adrien sighed, wishing he was either dead or with Ladybug right now. “But Alya said that Marinette knows her. Maybe ask her?”
“Fine, fine!” Alya sighed, almost immediately calling Marinette.
“Hey! I-I’m here!” Marinette whined, holding up her phone until she got closer to the small group.
“Gurl, you know Ladybug, right?” Alya asked, looking at her friend.Marinette froze but nodded. “Yeah. I do. Why?”
“Well, I’ve got a request,” Adrien shyly said, glad that 98% of the party-goers left. He rubbed the neon green cast on his leg as he spoke. “I want a… special gift. From Ladybug.”
“Why kind of ‘gift’?” she asked, tilting her head, pretending she didn’t hear him earlier.
“I want you to ask Ladybug to…” Adrien paused, glancing down at his feet. “…to meet me in my room when it’s dark outside. I want my first time to be with her.”Marinette’s face flushed a dark pink from hearing the conversation from before.
“Y-Yeah. I’ll only be asking for you,” she smiled, wanting to leave right now. But Alya was the one who drove her to Adrien’s place. “I’ll try calling her. I’m gonna go find her.”
Adrien lightly grabbed Marinette’s wrist. “Hey, do you want to stay for presents?” he asked, genuinely smiling at her.
The Chinese-french girl gave a smile back and nodded, offering her gift to him; a Chat Noir inspired hoodie that she’d made herself. It was her way of giving him a disguise if he wanted to go out and not be noticed since Adrien wore the GABRIEL brand from head to toe.
Naturally, he loved it and practically ripped off the cream hoodie in favour of his awesome gift. And almost threw it out but, after some persuasion, he lent it to Nino since it was a pretty sweet zip-up hoodie.
– Later that night –
Rough touches.
The buttons on his shirt popped off the fabric with how rough she was being with him. She was just so gentle and her body was so incredibly soft. She was an enigma despite everything.
Despite already being his partner.
“Monsieur Agres–”
“Adrien. Please. It’s just Adrien for you.”
Ladybug shifted in the clothes she’d borrowed, nervous about everything.
“Hey, Ladybug, do you want to come closer?” he asked, adjusting his pyjamas. His father was already furious, but he couldn’t change that until the cast came off.
Ladybug had lifted the transformation in Adrien’s ensuite not even fifteen minutes ago. Her clothes were already at home; knowing that he would recognize her if he saw her clothes. So here she was, putting on borrowed clothes while standing in her polka-dotted panties and bra.
‘Eveything he has is super luxrious, isn’t it?’ she thought to herself as she changed into the mask he gave her and some old clothes. ‘It’s so shiny. Like he’d need a butler to keep it this clean…!’
She was now wearing a hunter green fencing competition shirt from when he was fourteen and a pair of black pyjama pants from around the same time. He must’ve gave her some stuff he didn’t want to throw away yet due to sentimentality.
“I didn’t get much of a chance to prepare… I mean, I’m still filthy from fighting that akuma during your birthday party,” she mumbled, meekly stepping outof the bathroom, “I’m surprised it wasn’t Monsieur Lahiffe this time. I mean, he’s usually been the akuma for the past four years like clockwork.”
Adrien laughed a little, taking her hand and pulling her into his lap. “I’m just surprised my father hasn’t banned Nino from the property. I know for certain that it was Lila Rossi who caused it this time. Poor Kagami.” he muttered, taking in the scent of fresh bread and sweets. Kinda like… Marinette. “But enough about my party and let’s focus on right now. You got the request secondhand from Marinette, right?”
“Yeah. She asked for you, right?”
“Yeah. She’s told Alya, the Ladyblogger, about you before. But not much.” Adrien smiled, wishing she’d let him see her without the mask. The same mask he’d worn in the music video four years ago. “Hey Ladybug, if you don’t mind me asking… how old are you?”
“Eighteen. Nineteen in six months.” she answered, nervous about just being in his lap.
“I see. I forgot to ask. Do you even want this?”
“I do! I do. It’s just… I’m a little scared. I’m not afraid of you, I’m just scared it’ll hurt.”
Adrien raised a brow. She was scared of the pain? “I’ll make sure that the pain will be minimal. It won’t be; just as long as it’s done right,” he informed her, reaching in his night table to pick up a small bottle of lube and a box of condoms that Nino gave him last year as a gag gift.
‘Thank you, Nino Lahiffe’ he thought with a small chuckle.
Marinette nervously shifted as he pulled out the items.
“I know. It’s just…” she trailed off, wrapping her arms around his neck to carefully kiss him the way she’d wanted, ever since Puppeteer struck four and a half years ago. “I love you. I always have. I can’t date you, but I can give you my first time.”
Adrien trailed his fingers through her hair and grinned at her. “I won’t let you be hurt,” he softly mumbled as he kissed along her skin; wanting to count every freckle on her body, but he was… distracted to say the least. “especially by me.”
Marinette flushed a deep red and nodded. She’d read thousands of erotica stories a million times, and she’d honestly thought they were super cheesy until she was in their shoes. She leaned in and licked his bottom lip, nipping and kissing him. Her first kiss happened to be with Chat Noir, but Adrien was perfect in every way possible. There was no way she could screw this up!
Adrien grabbed Ladybug by her waist and set her on the bed. Hearing the squeak satisfied his desire to hear it. More desires to hear more cute squeaks emerged however. “Ladybug, do you want to be more relaxed before we start?” he asked, looping his thumb in the elastic of her pants, slowly she nodded as he kept pulling down the pyjama pants while her face grew redder and redder until they crumpled on the floor.
Her eyes trailed to his hand, which was inside her panties and entering her opening. His other hand peeled off her panties to add to the pile on the floor, along with his shirt.
At first, it was clumsy trial and error, but soon he got a good rhythm going. And dear gods, it felt great!
Once she came, he slipped down to sit on the floor and use a combination of his mouth and fingers to get her off again. Immediately lapping up her juices, which made her ultra-sensitive.
“A-Adriennn..” she whined, her fingers twisting in his impossibly soft hair to raise his head. “Please, just fuck me!”
Adrien pulled a condom from his pocket and rolled it on. Within seconds that felt like hours, he was inside her. Ladybug pulled him down on her body and rolled over to not have him hurt his broken leg any more than he had from both fingering her, oral and pushing himself inside her.
“Adrien, you’re rushing. Don’t rush so much,” she sighed, pressing her palms on his chest to help her gain some balance. After that, she raised her hips and very softly moaned, feeling the shivers that came from Adrien.
Her back arched, pulling her borrowed shirt off, unclasping her bra so that he had access to play with her boobs as much as he wanted. It was funny, feeling his hands kneading them like a cat.
“I’m gonna cum if you keep that up!”
“Go ahead. I accepted your invitation, after all.”
With a few quick thrusts, Adrien came. But what made her freeze was that he called out ‘My Lady’. In Chat Noir’s voice.
Marinette was in a state of shock, while Adrien was in absolute bliss.
“My Lady, what’s wrong?” he breathlessly asked, wanting to cuddle a bit.
“Chat… Noir?” she asked, the mask slipping off a bit.
“Marinette?!”
And then she woke up, her hand and her bedsheets were absolutely soaked. Her alarm was blaring and Marinette was covered in cold sweat. Then she went to shower before going to school. Her hand was covered in blood.
Was that from her sleep-masturbating? Or was it really… real?
Before she twisted the knob, her eye saw the ring on her finger.
This was definitely real.
Was Adrien Agreste really Chat Noir?
Her phone vibrated in her pocket.
Wait. She didn’t own these pants…?
It was real.
Seeing the 30+ missed messages from Adrien, she remembered that as the new Guardian, she had to… take his Miraculous.

HIM || Beiste Boys
Who: Gabe Beiste & @jackbeiste Where: The mall When: 11/30 What: the boys go to grab gifts at the mall and run into someone they use to know (TW: Abuse mention, TW: Anxiety, TW: Mention of violence)
It was shopping day for the Beiste boys. Taking the day to spend it together, just the three of them, to get all the gifts they would need. Gabe pushed the stroller as they walked through the mall, smiling to his little brother. "So how are you and Sebastian doing?"
Jack liked this so much, just being with his brother again. In a way, he almost missed the first couple of months at Joie when he'd clung to his brother so much. They were still working out some nice inbetween, and if this was it... it was a good middle. "Hm?" he asked, having been lost in his own thoughts. "Good.. great, really," he said, unable to stop himself from grinning.
Gabe smiled to see his little brother so happy. It made him happy to see how happy Jack was. Sebastian had his quirks but as long as he was good to jack, they were good. "So you have any ideas what to get dad? "
"Hmm, no... I guess I'll give him a bou... book again," He said, shrugging. It was his go-to for Sheldon, and it was usually successful, or at least it always seemed to be successful. "Maybe a cardboard of us," he added, flashing his brother a playful grin. Sheldon tried, but it was obvious he missed them, especially now that they were both gone, and Myles was so far away from him too. Jack missed him a lot too, and the fact that he came to Joie for Thanksgiving had been such a relief.(edited
Gabe rolled his eyes some. "Come on Jack jack, you gotta put a little more effort in. Why don't we go in on something for him together? You know something that he'd enjoy a lot. I was thinking we get him a massage chair and possibly some winter hats and gloves. God knows he's going to freeze if we dont since he wont wear pants." Chuckling a bit, Myles even laughing as well.
Jack laughed softly too, nodding. "Sure, we'll get the chair together. I still wanna give him a book. You can give him the gloves... fits your dad role, huh?" He teased, flashing him a grin.
"Yeah, guess I'm turning into a dad. " Game chuckled. "Just come on, dad really needs to wear pants more" He joked. "What book would you want to get him this time? Also I'm. thinking we order the chair and have it delivered around Christmas. "
"It's wai... weird to think about," Jack admitted. It wasn't like Gabe hadn't been a very dedicated big brother, but a father... he had figured that would come much later. "Maybe you should get him pants... if you buy 'em, he'll wear 'em," he mused. At least when one of them was around. "Not too sure yet. Ordering it sounds good, though."
"Yeah, its kind of crazy to think I helped make this little one but I mean, now that he's here, I don't think I can see my life without him now." Gabe grinning as he looked down to see Myles had nodded off. "Alright, let go hit the furniture place to see if we can..." Gabe stopped dead in his tracks. His heart stopped as well, grabbing Jack's arm he didn't move. Cooter. Cooter was there.
"No, and I don't think I'd like to try to see it without him either," Jack said softly. "What's wrong?" He frowned as his brother suddenly stopped and held his arm in a tight grip. It took him several moments to recognise Cooter; the few memories he had of him were all over fifteen years old, but even as he had aged... it was still obvious who he was. "Oh,' was all he managed to say, barely more than a whisper.
Gabe nodded, taking Jack's hand and turning to walk in the other direction. His heart was racing. What the hell was he doing there. Why would he be in Ohio. Stopping a good distance away, Gabe looked around some. "You okay?" wanting to make sure the shock of seeing him wasn't too much on Jack.
"Wha-what's he... doing here?" Jack couldn't stop staring, glancing back even as his brother lead him in the opposite direction. He felt so small suddenly, like he was still a little kid. Gabriel had held his hand like that when they were younger. It'd been a while. It was comforting, but he could still feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest. He wanted to ask Gabe if he was okay too, but he couldn't get the words out. Not even thinking about it, his free hand reached up to touch the scar on the back of his head. It wasn't large, easily hidden, but it was there all right. Just one of the few gifts from their father.
Gabe saw him go to touch his head and pulled Jack into him. He kissed his hair, his heart still racing. All Gabe could think was the same thing that Jack asked and how he never wanted Cooter to meet or see Myles. "I don't know why he's here but maybe we should leave before he sees us."
He hugged him tightly, glancing over to where Cooter had been. The man wasn't there, and he searched frantically for him; his heart dropping when he did. "He saw us."
Gabe looked around as well. "Yeah, I think he might have so lets just get out of here." Holding Jack's hand, he turned to walk but it was too late. Cooter was standing 20 feet away, waving. Gabe glared at him. "Jack, get myles out of the stroller and hold him please."
Jack nodded quietly, quickly taking his nephew into his arms, taking a step back; holding him in a protective embrace.
Gabe stepped in front of his son and his brother as the man walked over. Gabe was bigger then him now, thats for sure. He didn't budge, his face not showing one bit of fear. When they were face to face, he just smiled to them.
 "Hey boys, long time." Cooter put his hand out to Gabe. Gabe just glared at him.
"What do you want?" Gabe spat back at him.
His heart was beating so fast, and he knew it was making Myles nervous; he tried to calm himself, gently rocking his nephew, whispering sweet nothings into his cheek. It comforted them both, even as he could hear Cooter's voice, it felt distant. All he could hear was Myles and his baby talk.
Cooter peeked around Gabe to see Jack and the baby.
"Who's kid?" He asked his oldest. Gabe stood tall and stood his ground. "
“Doesn't fucking matter. I asked you a question. What do you want? Why are you even here?" If Cooter got any closer, he was going to lose it though. He was trying to stay calm for now.
"Leave," Jack finally managed to spit out, glancing up to look at his father, though avoiding his gaze.
baeLast Thursday at 12:36 PM
Gabe smiled, squeezing Jack's hand. Cooter only laughed though. "Shut up." he called to Jack. That was it, Gabe turned to Jack.
"Go to the car right now." Giving him the stroller. "Don't look back, just go. I'll be right there."  Once Jack was gone, Gabe was up in his face. "Listen you prick, i don't fucking care why you're here, I only care that you stay the fuck away from me and Jack. You hear me. I'm not a little kid anymore and I'll be damned if you think you can scare me. You don't scare me anymore, Cooter. I suggest you get the hell out of Ohio as fast as you fucking can." Gabe turned then and walked away, trying to catch up with Jack. He heard Cooter calling to him, but he didn't care to turn back. He just cared to make sure Jack and Myles were okay. Catching up to them at the car,  Gabe got Myles into his car seat and gave him a bottle then pulled jack into a hug. "I got you, Jack." he whispered.
He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Cooter had always told him to shut up, usually not with a laugh and it usually came after Cooter made him try to talk in the first place. He almost wanted to say something, just to prove to his father that he could. But nothing wanted to come out. He shut his mouth, biting hard enough on his lower lip to taste the metallic tang of blood in his mouth. Yet somehow, he also felt a rush of disappointment that Cooter didn't even seem happy to see him. He did as Gabriel told him to, standing outside by the car, breathing heavily as he tried to calm himself down; at first hestitant to let go of his nephew. "I'm sorry," he whispered, hugging him back tightly.
"No no, youre okay. Let just, get in the car and we're going to go get some fast food and go back on campus." Gabe knowing they'd be safe there. He got into the driver's side and pulled out. Shopping would have to wait for another day.
He shook his head, but got into the car. "I shoo... shoulda backed you up," he said softly.
"You did. You did exactly what needed to be done. I don't want Myles to see him or know him. Trust me, you did so much in that moment, Jack." Gabe replied. "You protected Myles."
Jack nodded, wiping away some tears with the back of his hand. He took a deep breath before speaking again, making sure to speak really slow and clear as he didn't trust the words to come out right if he didn't. "He's your son, but he is my nephew.. so he is my kid too."
Gabe nodded. "Yes, he has me, you and Vince. He has people that love him and protect him. My only goal was to keep him from seeing Myles and to protect you as well. I did that so we did good. Now do we want burgers or tacos?"

All The Things Left Unsaid
Read on AO3
Jopper One-shot: Summer 1985
Words: 4,326
---
Joyce had given into her anxiety and turned off the engine to the car fifteen minutes prior.
She was on her fourth cigarette, but her guilt only grew with each puff. What good were cigarettes anyway, she thought with annoyance, if they no longer worked to calm her down. She prayed that Will hadn't looked out the window.
Nothing had changed on the Wheeler's front stoop, which she had been watching like a hawk for the last thirty minutes. No monsters, dark clouds or government officials. Yet still, here she was.
The late July sun was just starting to set, yet the incoming night was still swelteringly hot. She hung her bare arm out of the window in an attempt to catch a bit of breeze but there was none to be had.
A rumbling engine tore around the corner in front of her. Joyce smirked. Hopper's Blazer with 'Police' emblazoned across the side was definitely going over the speed limit as it appeared on the Wheeler's street and came to an abrupt stop on the opposite curb.
"Ok, what are the rules, kid?" Hopper's voice carried out of his open window.
"I'm late! You took too long," El whined, already opening the door to her side of the car.
"Rules?" he replied gruffly.
El huffed, "Stay inside. Don't use my powers in front of anyone. Tell the Wheelers my name is Jane and I'm your niece," she stated in a glum monotone, "Can I go now?"
"Be back out here at 10, no dawdling," he said, making Joyce smile warmly at the overwhelmingly fatherly tone.
"Dawdling?" El asked.
"Oh, it'll….be your word for tomorrow. Don't be late," Hopper replied, rubbing her messy curls with his bear paw hand, "Have fun, Kid." Joyce watched as El smiled, said goodbye, jumped out of the truck and dashed to the front door of the Wheelers so fast you'd expect she was being chased. Hopper watched her keenly the whole way, his eyes falling on Joyce, directly across the street from him, as El slipped through the doorway.
"You too, huh?" he asked from his seat as he pulled out a cigarette.
Joyce nodded and leaned her head out of the car window, "You know me. Where else would I be? I might as well build a bed for myself in the backseat of this car at this point."
Hopper snickered as he held his hands up to light his cigarette, "This parenting shit, man. It's a racket."
"Ah, but it's worth it to feel the love when they wake you up after a double shift to ask for 20 bucks," she retorted with a dark smile.
"I haven't gotten that far yet. Now I have something to look forward to," he replied. He took a deep drag from his cigarette and let out a lazy puff of smoke as silence settled between them. "Say, Joyce," he said, his voice carrying a hint of hestitation, "Wanna get some dinner? I could kill a patty melt right about now."
Joyce, surprised by the invitation, took a guilty look at the house, "Well, I should probably leave here before the Wheelers call the police on me for stalking. So, sure."
"Well, considering it would page directly to this," he said, lifting the receiver of his CB radio, "I think you're safe. Get in over here, I'll drive?"
"Okay," Joyce replied. She fumbled for her purse, leaned over and manually rolled up each of the windows, and locked up the car. She took one final anxious peek back at the Wheelers' home, which still had not burned down or fallen into an alternate dimension, and made her way to Hopper's truck.
She felt like a child as she attempted to step up into the tall cabin of the vehicle, hoisting herself forcefully, laughing in the process.
"Having some trouble?" Hopper asked with a hint of sarcasm as he held out his hand to assist her. She took it gladly and pulled herself in, yanking the door closed behind her with a loud thud. "Where to?" he asked as he put the truck in drive.
"Oh, I don't know," she stuttered, "You're the hungry one. You pick?"
Hopper nodded in acknowledgement and pulled onto the road as Joyce worked to buckle her seatbelt. She peeked over at him as he turned a corner and couldn't help but notice that he was dressed… nicely. He was sporting a pressed light blue button-up short sleeved shirt tucked into nice jeans, and his thinning hair was combed and tamed, unlike his usual hat head of flyaways.
"Something fancy happen today? You look nice, Hop," she said with amused surprise.
"What, a guy can't try sometimes? What do you take me for, a slob?" he responded with his patent dry humor.
She didn't respond but rolled her eyes casually and sat back into the seat.
Hopper turned right down Sycamore Lane, "So, how you been, Joyce? Don't think I've seen you since the we were chain smoking outside the Wheelers this time last month."
Joyce shrugged and worked to fill him in on the comings and goings of her and the boys. Mostly the coming and goings of the boys, to be honest. The truth was Joyce's life had been quite quiet in the nine months since everything had happened in the fall. Honestly, she'd needed it that way. But at this point she couldn't help but notice that her devotion for her kids, combined with her work schedule and her need for alone time, had turned her into a bit of a recluse, and she was admittedly going a bit stir crazy. Dinner with Hopper was probably the most exciting thing she had done without her boys all year.
After a short drive he pulled into the parking lot of Sheila's Bar and Grill on the main drag of town. "This place good?" he asked, looking over to her for approval as his fingers rested on the keys to cut the engine. Joyce gulped. It was one of the two nicer restaurants in town. Which sure, wasn't saying much as this was Hawkins, but still. She couldn't help but feel underdressed in a ratty tank top and old jeans, her hair still pulled back in a messy pony tail from cleaning the house all day. Plus, her wallet was a lot less full than she was comfortable with for a real restaurant. Though Sheila's was only two blocks from Melvald's, she'd never stepped foot inside. It had always been just a little too expensive for her to rationalize taking the boys.
"Am I… dressed appropriately for this place?" she asked hesitantly, her eye falling on a rip in the knee of her jeans.
Hopper laughed and brushed off the question as he opened his door and cut the engine, "Don't worry about it. Of course you are. Besides, even if you were wearing a flour sack you'd be the prettiest girl in there."
Joyce felt herself blush in surprise at his words and hoisted herself out of the truck to the ground.
He opened the door of the restaurant for her and she snuck under his arm to enter. The restaurant was lively, but not packed, filled with families, middle aged couples and a couple groups of old men sharing war stories in the back submerged in a cloud of smoke.
"Evening, Shelia," Hopper called to the elderly woman behind the bar. Sheila, a sweet looking woman in her 60s with twinkling eyes, looked up from the bread baskets she was filling with a wave. Her eyes widened as she spied Joyce.
"Well, little Jimmy Hopper," she said with a kind smile as she sidled her way out from behind the bar and beckoned them to follow her to a booth by the windows. "You clean up well, Jimmy. Can't remember the last time I saw you bring a date in," she whispered quietly to Jim, though not quietly enough for Joyce to miss it, as she nudged him with her elbow like a nosy Aunt.
Joyce felt her cheeks redden in a silly way that belied her age, feeling slightly awkward by the misconception. Jim audibly groaned, "Alright, Sheila. Alright."
Sheila smiled at Joyce brightly as she laid menus on the table and patted the booth seat, "Here you go, dear. Y'all have a nice dinner," she said with a wink. Hopper stepped back to allow Joyce her choice of seats and dropped himself into the seat facing away from the door.
"This place is nice," she said as she surveyed the deep red wooden walls and ceiling.
"You've never been here before?" he asked, picking up his own menu. She shook her head. "Well then, you're in for a treat," he continued, "Sheila was my mom's best friend and she makes the best rolls you've ever tasted." He lifted the bread basket in offering.
They fell into companionable silence as they searched for their choices on the menu, Joyce munching on what was admittedly great bread all the while. After a few minutes a slight teenage girl with overwhelming Farrah Fawcett hair, who Joyce recognized from Jonathan's grade, approached their table for their order.
"I'll have the patty melt and fries," Hopper said as he handed her his menu, "and a Schlitz. Want a beer, Joyce?" he asked.
She hesitated, worried about driving later, but once again remembered she was with the Chief of Police, "Why not," she replied with a playful shrug, "and I'll have the…" she paused, realizing she had never made a decision, "Same. I'll have the same."
"Two Schlitz and two patty melts it is then," the girl said with a placating smile as she scribbled on her pad, "Be right back."
Joyce fumbled with her napkin for a moment and focused on lying it on her lap. A twinge of awkwardness pouring over her at her unexpected dinner. She looked up to find Hopper watching her closely.
"So," she said quickly, trying to change the subject from her own insecurity, "how's it going with…" she looked around and leaned in to whisper, "Jane."
Hopper nodded and took a bite out of his bread, "Well, she hasn't blown out any more windows, so I'd say it's going well. I sneak her out of the house right about the time I can tell she can't take it anymore," he shrugged, "Only a few more weeks now and then she starts school. That's gonna be weird," he said with a nervous sigh as their beers arrived, "Thanks."
"Aww, old Dad Hopper," she teased as she patted his hand, "It'll be fine. She's a good kid, Hop. And she's got good friends who will look out for her."
"Yeah, and its ample alone time with one of those 'friends' that I'm worried about," he said with an eye roll, "Do you know that Wheeler kid showed up at her window last Saturday and tried to get her to sneak out into the woods with him? I practically had to chase him off and Jane wouldn't talk to me all day. That boy is getting too brave, I tell ya."
Joyce laughed gleefully, "If I recall correctly," she said, wagging her finger accusingly in his direction, "that sounds a lot like someone I knew who tried the exact same thing to me when we were seniors. I think my Dad had to use a broom to scoot you off of the roof, if I remember correctly."
A guilty look passed over Hopper's face as he fought back a smile. "Yeah, seniors in high school," he said wryly, "Not the same."
"Touche," She shrugged in relent as she took a swig of her beer, "She could do worse, by the way. I've known that boy since he was five. He might mouth off sometimes and yes, he might be a little reckless, but he's the most loyal and dedicated friend Will could have ever hoped for. He's a good kid, Hop."
Hopper sighed, "Yeah, I know. Doesn't mean I have to enjoy this."
"Well, just feel lucky that you didn't walk on your kid naked with his girlfriend last week," Joyce said, shuddering at the entirely horrifying memory that she attempted to drown with another swig of beer.
Hopper winced, "Ooooh, I do not envy you," he said with a bleak laugh.
"Well," she said, raising her glass, "At least we're in it together now. Parenting teenagers is a trip."
Hopper shrugged and shot her his classic beleaguered smile, "Cheers to that," he said as he clinked her glass.
The evening continued on effortlessly, any awkwardness she might have felt melting away at their easy conversation and the presence of beer, much as it had always been since their first chapter as teenagers. She listened with rapt attention as he told her about renovations he was making to the old cabin and as he bragged with the sweet pride of a father about the success Jane was having with her tutoring.
"Want another?" he asked as the waitress came around with their meals.
Joyce looked down to find her glass surprisingly empty, "Oh, I shouldn't," she declined bemusedly, her head swimming a bit from the single drink. It was amazing how much of a lightweight she'd become in her forties.
"Neither should I," he replied, playing with the glass in his hands before looking up with a trademark glint in his eye, "Split one more?"
Joyce chuckled and nodded after a pause, "Sure."
"Atta girl, Joycie" he said jovially before turning to the waitress, "Just one more, thanks."
"You're a bad influence," she accused as she reached for the ketchup.
Hopper barked with a loud cracking laugh, infecting her with its suddenness as she broke out in her own giggle, "I'll take that as a compliment."
"Well, I'm not sure I meant it as one…" she retorted, "but all the same."
He shot her a coy look in response, making her insides jump nervously, surprising every nerve in her body. She blushed as she quickly forced her attention on her meal, as her mind began to run in a very unexpected direction.
Nice restaurant. Nice outfit. Combed hair. Extra round of beers. That look he just gave her.
No.
No way.
Maybe?
Not possible.
"So, how's work been?" Joyce asked lamely, seeking any benign topic that would help her get her bearings back as the beer arrived at the table. She swiped it immediately and took a healthy swig.
Hopper groaned and launched into a dull story about his deputies.
She didn't hear a word of it. Instead, her mind launched itself noisily into a frenetic beer fueled tizzy.
It had been years since she had seen that look on Jim Hopper's face, but it wasn't something she could really forget. In fact, it was emblazoned on her memory like a trigger.
It was the same look he would shoot her across the biology classroom every Friday of senior year. A clandestine invitation to skip fifth period for a rendezvous of cigarettes and a heated make out session underneath the bleachers.
The same look he wore when he talked her into going to prom with him despite her father's wishes, egging her on to disobey how grounded she was... because they'd been caught having a rendezvous of cigarettes and making out under the bleachers.
The same look was on his face his final night before shipping out to Vietnam, as he appeared at her window and beckoned for entry. She had let him in willingly and he had stayed all night, wrapped up silently with her body, neither of them knowing if they would ever see each other again.
And here he was, all these years later. After so much shit and so many winding roads. Sitting across from her chatting about his daughter, his house, his town, all back at the scene of their old crimes. Giving her that look again.
…and she hadn't worried about the boys in at least forty-five minutes. It might have been a record.
His shirt looked incredibly good on his biceps.
"What?" Jim asked in surprise.
"Huh?" she sputtered, shaking her head, unsure of where they were in the conversation.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked in amusement.
"Oh…" she said, a twinge of embarrassment playing across her face, "No reason. Sorry,"
"Ooookay," he said, eyeing her suspiciously,
She drained the rest of the beer.
"You know you drank that whole thing," he pointed out amusedly as he pushed his plate to the side and sat back in the booth.
"Did I?" she blanched in surprise, "I'm sorry!"
"Nah, it's fine," he said as he waved his hand to dismiss her worry, "Drunk Joyce is cute. Plus, it's probably good for the town to see the Sheriff driving sober."
"Yes!" she said emphatically, "That's why I did it. I drank this beer as a service to our community!"
Hopper's laugh boomed through the restaurant, and she smiled shyly in return, entirely overwhelmed by the situation. The truth was, he'd always had that affect on her. She had always lived just a little more dangerously in his presence. It was an odd trait, she regarded through her foggy mind as she watched him laugh, because he also made her feel incredibly safe.
The check appeared at the table as his laughter subsided. Joyce reached for her purse, but before she could rummage out any cash, the girl was already gone and Hopper was pocketing his wallet.
"My treat," he said casually as he rose up from the booth, "ready to go?"
"Hop, you didn't need to do that," she contested as she scrambled to her feet while digging in her purse for cash, "Here, let me pay you back."
"It's fine, Joyce," he said as his hand grasped her's firmly, stopping her from continuing her search in her purse. She jumped in surprise. He pulled away quickly and smiled reassuringly, "Just think of it as... prepayment for all of the Eggos you'll probably end up buying to feed my daughter once she's let loose on this town and ends up at your place after school. The girl is a monster for breakfast food."
Joyce laughed loudly as she followed him out of the restaurant, the quest for cash in her purse abandoned.
Hopper and Joyce walked to the truck in the parking lot. The night air had cooled down considerably, more than she'd expected. It was refreshing and worked to clear her mind. Hopper followed Joyce around to the passenger side of the truck. He unlocked the door and gave her a hand to hoist her up before shutting the door and crossing back to his side.
She took the five seconds of alone time to let out a huge exasperated exhale. What was happening? Her body felt hot and icy at the same time, betraying her into thinking she was seventeen again. It was… nice? Weird. Unexpected.
Hopper climbed into the truck, revved the engine, and pulled out without a word.
They drove in silence back to the Wheelers, Joyce working to calm herself, her brain and body swimming in a fuzzy intoxication.
Hopper's truck pulled up behind Joyce's car and he cut the engine. "Ahh… back in time to nervously watch the door while they overstay their curfew," he said wryly, pulling out a cigarette.
"Let 'em," Joyce said with a casual shrug, "they're only young for a few more years."
"Well, Joyce Byers," Hopper said with surprise, "If I didn't know better I'd say that beer loosened you up a bit."
Joyce just smiled, scooted closer to him in the big bank seat, and stole his cigarette, "Maybe I am."
The moments ticked by quietly as they shared a cigarette, watching the clock move closer to 10pm. Her heartbeat picked up paces consistently as their fingers mingled back and forth over the cigarette, and more so as Hopper's arm slid over the bank seat behind her, picking the cigarette from her far hand playfully when she hadn't expected it. His arm, however, did not leave the space once it had settled, and his fingers were now dangerously close to her hair. She could feel every minute movement.
The usual companionable silence that existed between them did not exist in this moment. Instead, the air felt thick, heavy and electric, as though unsaid words were floating through the air. Words that were suddenly knocking at the back of Joyce's teeth, fighting their way out of her lips and slipping through the cracks before she could stop them.
"Jim?" Joyce said suddenly, turning to him. His face was lit dimly by the street light. He looked softer than usual. Timid even. After a delayed moment he averted his eyes to the street.
"Yeah, Joyce?" he replied casually.
"Why are you dressed so nicely tonight?" she asked directly.
Hopper shrugged dismissively with a light laugh, but she could swear she saw the hint of a blush on his cheeks. He didn't respond, but merely shrugged as he took a deep puff on their cigarette.
"Well," she said after a moment, realizing she was not going to get her answer, "You look very nice."
The trace of a shy smile ghosted across his lips as he looked at her from the corner of his eye, shrugging in his trademark fashion, "Well, you always look nice. I felt like I had to try."
Joyce smiled as her chest warmed, "What does that mean?", she asked as she shuffled in her seat, turning to him fully and finding herself closer to him in the process. He did not look at her. She swallowed hard and her voice dropped, liquid courage pushing to the point, "Did you plan this?"
Hopper let out a nervous laugh, refusing to look in her direction, "Well, I didn't think I was going to get interrogated for it but-"
"Jim," she stated quietly. He hesitated, but slowly turned to look at her after a pause. His eyes were vulnerable and nervous. "Thank you for the date," she said quietly as she allowed her body to lean back into his arm. She felt his fingers brush her hair.
"Anytime," he replied quietly.
Maybe it was the second beer or maybe it was something more, but in that moment she had no hesitation. Joyce leaned up and kissed him lightly on the lips, her right hand brushing against the tuft of his beard. It was chaste, simple and sweet. Nothing like the ravenous teenagers they had once been. Something stirred deep within her.
Hopper's eyes were wide with surprise, and a sadness laced through them that she couldn't place. He hesitated for a moment, looking directly at her as if he had just seen her for the first time. "Joyce…" he whispered slowly in his gruff tone, trepidation written across his brow, "did you mean to do that?"
Joyce's features crinkled in surprise as she laughed, "…Do you think I just fell on your face or somethi-" Her sentence ended in a breathless moan against his lips. In a flash, his eyes shifted from surprise to nervousness to unbridled longing. Before she could decipher his movement, his arms had wrapped fully around her slight frame, pulling her to him as though she weighed nothing at all. His lips were rough, unhewn. Her body flooded with a burning as she pressed deeper against his body, deeper against his lips, his large hand lacing through her fine hair as he moaned against her lips. He was still, as he'd always been, the absolute best kisser. A dam broke within her. Her hands reached around his neck as she pulled herself closer, her kiss containing things she could not yet express with words. Things that had bubbled, unindulged, beneath the surface for months, years, and while it was nerve wracking to admit, probably decades.
He breathed deeply against her lips and brought both of his hands up to cup her face softly. "Joyce…I…" he rasped as he laid his forehead against hers, his eyes closed lightly and his breath ragged, "I've wanted to do that for so long."
A long lost insatiable smile played upon Joyce's lips, her heartbeat racing, "Then do it again, Jim."
El and Will trudged up the stairs from the basement together, audibly grumbling because they had to leave earlier than everyone else.
"I can't believe it's already ten," Will sighed.
"I know," El griped as they reached the door.
Will swung the door open and held it for El to leave first. She stepped out and crossed a few feet over the lawn before stopping wide eyed in her tracks.
"El? What's wrong?" Will asked nervously, looking at her.
El pointed silently at the truck. Will gasped, grabbed El's arm, and pulled her back inside, easing the door shut silently.
"Was that what I thought it was?!" he asked, eyes s wide they were about to fall out of his head.
El nodded slowly, her mouth still agape in shock. Will pulled El down against the door out of eye shot. She peeked up ever so slightly, parted the curtains, and peered out quickly. She swiped the curtain shut with a gasp and slid back down the door.
Will breathed heavily as she grasped onto El's arm, "My mom… and your dad…"
"Yeah!" El exclaimed in a whisper, "He combed his hair tonight. For a long time. It was weird."
They sat in silence against the door staring at each other in shock. El climbed back up and peered out of the window again. "Still happening."
"Do you think that means they'll notice if we're late?" Will said suddenly, his tone changing from shock to mischief. El looked back at him, shook her head excitedly. The two scrambled to their feet and bee-lined for the basement stairs, laughing confusedly all the while.

Happy Birthday, queenoffrizz!
January 7 - Fluffy (just the teensiest bit cracky) Bucky/Darcy fic for @queenoffrizz
I love situations where Bucky is pleasantly surprised or mildly knocked off kilter by a force of nature type Darcy, and fake relationships are definitely my catnip.
Written by @backwardsandinhighheels
“I found you a date for Stark’s thingamajig!”
Bucky scowled at his best friend. “Why do I have to go to that? I hate being on show.”
“We all hate it,” Steve reminded him. “That’s why we drew straws. You and Banner lost, and he went to the last one. Ergo, you get to go to this one!”
“Ergo? Ergo? Do the others realise you only use fancy words when you’re being a little - oof!”
“Now, Buck, mind your manners in front of the lady. Bucky Barnes, this is Darcy Lewis. Miss Lewis, this is my sorry excuse for a best friend and I understand if you want to give this up as a lost cause.”
Bucky gave up rubbing at his bruised side - serum or not, Steve still had sharp elbows - to gape at the wonder that had just entered the common room. With loose waves of brown hair and some floral scent he couldn’t quite identify, she barely came up to his chin. “Ma’am.”
She laughed and ducked her her head, eyes sparkling behind her glasses. “Aw, don’t go all formal on me! You’re like the only person I’m going to know at this thing except Tony and Pepper so you better call me Darcy.”
“Alright, uh, Darcy, then you gotta call me Bucky. You go to these events often?”
“Nope, so Pepper’s letting me charge hair and makeup to her credit card and I think I’m going to take advantage and get a trim while I’m at it, what about you?”
“My hair?” Suddenly self-conscious, he ran one hand through his hair. He hadn’t thought about it much beyond keeping it out of his eyes, though a long distant memory informed him it used to be important. “What do you think?”
“I was wondering if you go to Tony’s parties a lot, but yeah, you’d look good with short hair. There’s a bunch of barbers around, I’m sure you could get it done in time. Listen, do you prefer regular or bowties?”
“I... honestly have don’t know. Don’t know if I’ve ever owned a tie, either. Do I need to get one?”
Darcy flashed a smile. “Nah, I’ll get you one that matches my dress. Always wanted to do that but the guy who asked me to prom said he wanted to wear a Hawaiian shirt so I went stag. Anyways, the party stays at 8 so how about you pick me up at 6 and we’ll go for dinner first, yeah? There’s this great Vietnamese place I haven’t been to in ages. Sound alright?”
He had time to stutter out a “okay,” before she vanished into the stairwell, leaving him to stare after her, rubbing his chin in thought.
“Party looking a bit more palatable now?” Steve asked, grinning.
“Shut up,” muttered Bucky, glaring daggers.
~~~
“Good going Darce, just babble at the guy, that’s sure to go down well. Probably trying to get out of the party right now…”
Darcy’s monologue trailed off as she reached the right floor and pushed the door open. Jane looked up at her entrance, confused. “Is something wrong with the elevators?”
“What? Oh, no, I figured I needed some exercise if I was going to be wearing a slinky dress next to Hottie McMurderthighs.”
Jane scowled. “Darcy, no! I’d kill for curves like yours. If you ask me, he’s the one who needs to make an effort, or he’ll be outclassed.”
“You have to say that, you’re my friend,” Darcy pointed out. “But he’s Captain America’s best friend and like, a war hero. Probably has models throwing themselves at him on a daily basis.”
“Steve’s the one who asked you to do this, remember? He’s like the war hero and you’re fine with him. Why are you stressing out? Unless -” Jane’s eyes went wide. “Unless you like him! You do, you have a crush on Bucky Barnes!”
“Shut up,” muttered Darcy, her cheeks flaming.
~~~
The rap on the door startled Darcy. She’d been ready since 5:30, had spent the minutes since then pacing and reassessing her choices. She’d swapped her dream of a slinky dress for one with a fuller skirt and was wearing her favourite heels because no-one would be able to see them under her full-length gown. “No backing out now,” she muttered to herself. “Game face on.” She checked her lipstick one more time and opened the door.
~~~
Bucky tried not to gape. Really.
“Wow,” he managed. “You look amazing.”
A smile blossomed across Darcy’s face. “You like it?”
“It looks good on you,” he said. “Really good.”
“Ang guess what, it has pockets! Oh, this is for you.” She reached into one and pulled out a tie that matched the deep red of her dress. “You know how to tie this?”
“Uh…”
He ducked his head to let her loop the tie around his neck. Head bowed in concentration, she knotted it into place, the floral scent of her shampoo teasing his senses. He’d been wrong, she was a little taller than his chin - or maybe she was wearing heels. Either way, she was the perfect height to -
“All done!” she chirped, patting him on the chest as she stepped back. “You ready to go eat? I’m starving. I wanted to grab a snack earlier but I was scared I’d smudge my lipstick.”
She pulled her front door shut and tucked her arm through his, keeping a running commentary all the way. “The haircut looks great, by the way! Not that it wasn’t okay earlier, but I like this one better.”
They walked a few short blocks to the restaurant and Bucky let Darcy’s chatter wash over him and soothe his nerves. He’d never tried Vietnamese food before, so when they arrived, he sat back and let her order for the two of them. He liked her confidence and her willingness to try new things, the way she asked his opinion but didn’t rely on his help.
The food was great, but even better than the delicate flavours and the crisp vegetables were the little glances she snuck at him from across the table. The flow of conversation slowed and came to a stop. “Am I talking too much?” Darcy demanded.
“Not at all,” he assured her. “I like the way you talk.”
She brightened. “Oh, okay then.”
Stark’s party was hosted in a nearby hotel and Darcy insisted she would be okay to walk there. “These are my favourite heels, I’m fine! Look, all the taxis are busy at this time of night.”
One block from the restaurant, Bucky noticed her shivering. “Are you cold?”
Darcy shook her head.
“Your teeth are chattering,” he pointed out. “Take my jacket, at least for the walk.” When she hestitated, he added “I run hot”.
“Fine,” she sighed.
He shrugged out of his suit jacket and held it out for her to slip her arms into. “It’s kinda big,” she observed, looking down at where the sleeves went past her hands. Before he could formulate a reply, she looked up at him and grinned. “I like it.” Pushing one sleeve up, she grabbed his hand - his metal hand - and tugged him along the sidewalk. “C’mon, we’re going to be late.”
“Haven’t you ever heard of being fashionably late?”
“There’s fashionably late, and there’s us. They’ll probably lock the doors.”
“Great, then we can skip the party.”
“Tony will be mad and you know it.”
He nodded, resigned. “Fine.”
Soon enough, and yet all too soon, they arrived at the media press outside the hotel. Darcy slipped out of his jacket reluctantly and handed it back to him. “Time to face the music,” she said.
“I’m glad you’re here,” he told her. He saw the surprise and delight in her face and felt it solidify his resolve. “Just one thing before we go in.”
“Yeah?”
He kissed her, cradled her face in one hand as her arms came up to twine around his neck.
“Been wanting to do that all night,” he admitted. “Sorry I kinda smudged your lipstick.”
“You’re so lucky this dress has pockets. But even if it didn’t…” Darcy looked up from her reapplication and winked. “Still worth it.”
Audio Recs!!!!
All the BBC Radio Audios are available on Amazon and apparently free on the BBC Radio player app (don’t know if that’s on a limited basis though). They’re set post season 2 and have a really nice Ianto, Gwen, and Jack team dynamic (and of course Ianto/Jack dynamic). Be warned that House of the Dead is a tear jerker though and is pretty hurty
Big Finish Audios on available on BigFinish.com. The older ones are about $7.99 and the newer ones about $8.99. Which is actually really cheap for these kinds of things:
Serenity. You want fluffy Jack/Ianto feels? This is THE Jack/Ianto audio for ridiculous domestic Janto feels. It’s pretty much an officially acted, canon fake!married fanfiction.
Torchwood_Casscade is a great Tosh piece and my favorite use of the audio format in any of these. It does kind of vaguely allude to the end of season 2 (sort, of its weird) so be warned about that though.
Last Beacon: Did someone say madcap Ianto and Owen solo mission (with camping and Owen being hilariously out of his element)? Written by Ianto’s actor, Gareth David-Llyod which is cool.
Dinner and a Show: Did someone say madcap Ianto and Tosh solo mission (while Tosh is REALLY drunk on bad wine)? Also written by Gareth David-Llyod. Kind of an unofficial sequel to the Last Beacon.
Iceberg: Honestly I kind of prefer my Owen a little snarkier than he is here, but this one really shows off what a good doctor he is, and deals a lot with his life pre-Torchwood. Great medical mystery plot.
Broken: I’m a little hestitant to rec Broken in this context because it’s VERY hurty, but hurt with a happy ending. Basically the story of the Ianto/Jack enemies to lover escalation between the season one episodes. Trigger warning for a suicide attempt.
More than This: Post-season 4, Gwen restating Torchwood officially and trying to get the permits to fix the hub—and bringing the permit guy with her alien hunting. The pacing is a little weird, but I really like Gwen in this one.
Fall to Earth: Ianto solo mission where the only person that can help him is the lady trying to sell him insurance over the phone. Really great character dynamic stuff.
Big Finish Full Cast Specials. These are more expensive because well...they had to pay a whole cast, but they’re longer and act as episodes:
Outbreak: I need to slap a “really weird to listen to during a pandemic” warning on this (features Cardiff getting quarantined due to a rage virus). However it has some great Jack/Ianto and Gwen/Rhys moments. Also that lovely Jack, Ianto, and Gwen team dynamic.
Beleive: Did some say All 5 Team Torchwood members set during season 2? Including the after interviews this is almost 3 hours of content. I’m not a fan of a choice they make regarding Owen pressuring Tosh into an uncomfortable situation undercover (there’s line with how much of an asshole you can let Owen be before it’s not ok, and tbh they cross it—though they do make a point in story for calling him out on it). But other than that specific issue it’s very fun and it’s nice to hear them bantering while doing a mission briefing. Some great character moments (especially for Jack and Ianto). And just REALLY nice to have all 5 of them.
hey hey, torchwood tumblr! does anyone have any particular recommendations for spinoff novels or audio dramas? (or fics!) now that i’ve finished rewatching children of earth, i would love more torchwood, but, like … less hurty.
i would especially love recs for:
gwen/rhys stuff
jack/ianto stuff
more tosh and owen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just anything that’s extra fun or enjoyable
Video
youtube
Anyone still remember Bebu? The couple pairing that once took over Winglin? I updated all the Bebu interactions over the past couple years. Certainly , there are still some really great interactions! Please watch the video I put together and tell me what you think!
Summary by clips and contents [SOME TRANSLATIONS]  (Note: Chinese is my third language, not entirely fluent)
First video: S.H.E and Fahrenheit collaborated several times and in this show, the show host asked about what S.H.E thinks about each member. Selina said the Aaron is like a manga character and something else about being able to interact with him easier than the rest of the group. Hebe adds that Aaron is cute and basically agreed with Selina.
0:45: During a commercial for 7eleven, I’m guessing that the group had to take a funny picture. Aaron puts his hand unsure of whether he should place it there or not. Hebe turned around and accused him of being a pervert and then rubbed the touch away lol. Aaron just put his hand back on her shoulder.
0:58: I really wonder when did they take this picture? After Xin Wo’s music video? This is the youngest picture I can find of them together haha. Look at the poses!
1:03: During Suan Tian’s music video, Hebe and Aaron chest bumped each other. Doesn’t the cow suit make everything look cuter? XD
1:06: I’m sure that this is a charity kind of event (due to a natural disaster). Hebe and Aaron sat beside each other and look at the way Hebe looked at Aaron!
1:15: Hebe was being interviewed for an award show and Aaron was in the background, waving at the camera casually during her interview. Funny thing is, of all the times, she turned around to see Aaron.
1:23-1:25 Okay, seriously after they start to go solo their relationship become more clear. Aaron just always look at Hebe! Look at the way he looks at her! He really admires his senior!
1:27-3:49 Hito Awards in 2010 or 2011 ish Aaron already became a solo artist and released his EP in this era while Hebe already released her second album, My Love. The point is in this clip, Hebe was asked about what she ate and the three of them were asked about what they did when they’re bored behind the scene. Aaron wondered about what people do behind the stage back then because they didn’t have cellphones. He also keeps calling Hebe, “Goddess” and is always looking at Hebe unlike Yoga Lin.
3:54-4:17 Aaron was labeled as a cold person (Aka: Ice Prince) in 2013. He laughed and said he is like his senior, Hebe because she also doesn’t laugh and (something else he said I couldn’t understand what it means). When he looked at the mirror he realized that he is also like Hebe. (Point: they have similar personality).
4:18-4:29 This is a voting battle on which celebrities in the entertainment circle is the coldest or hardest to approach. Apparently, both Hebe and Aaron were selected at the first and second. Aaron made it to the first. Really funny thing is, Aaron is afraid to approach Hebe who is known as Ice Beauty and he is voted the coldest of all.
4:28-4:53 During his “The Moment” promotion era, Aaron mentioned about Hebe. He went to ask her about what she thinks about when she is singing (basically he is asking for advice on how to perform well since he looks up to her). Hebe gave him a simple answer and said to think about the lyrics but do not think too much about it because you will forget what you are singing (affect performance).
4:54-5:23 Hito Awards Interview- Aaron interviews S.H.E (stage comeback at HITO). The other host (who doesn’t seem to know that they’re all from the same company) introduces Aaron. Hebe said: “I KNOW HE IS THE TAIWANESE VERSION OF ANDY LAU” and Aaron expresses that he is happy. Notice that Selina is dying and woohooing at this joke. Then Hebe goes on to express and praise Aaron that he is a serious and dedicated person (notice that she was going to get cut off by the other host but she continues to talk about Aaron). She mentioned about his eating habits and yoga. I have read somewhere that Aaron mentioned in an interview about this particular awards. He brought his yoga mat to this awards and it seems that Hebe showed him some yoga moves (there is a news article about this) and he was touched by it.
5:23 Did you see how Hebe looks at Aaron lol and I have no idea what Aaron is saying “Qi dai yi xia” 5:28-5:33 Hebe introduces Aaron’s song “Taipei is sleeping” and calls him Xiao Shuai Ge (Handome little guy). Why is Hebe always calling him nicknames LOL
5:34: In Aaron’s album promotion interview, fans called in and was asked who he should collaborate with. Majority answered Tian Fu Zhen (Hebe). In this particular clip, the other hosts asked whether she wanted them to collaborate because they are in the same company. She answered that Hebe is pretty so she wishes that he collaborate with her. Nadou (show host) asked if it is okay if they’re together in real life. The girl answers ok in a weird tone. Aaron says it is not possible [it shouldn’t be possible] (unsure whether he is referring not possible collaborating or being together). Aaron: It shouldn’t be possible but she gives off the feeling of wanting to solve her (her mysterious, quiet and cold personality makes him want to figure her out) Nadou’s face *huh?* 6:23: Aaron says it is not quite possible to collaborate with Hebe (in a drama) because she feels tired filming (Hebe had expressed before that she doesn’t like to film dramas because it is tiring) Point is: Wow, how did he know this and it’s so nice of him to understand her feelings. Some stars just want to collaborate without understanding the other star’s level of expertise.
5:34:
6:35: Vogue fashion night out interview with S.H.E Aaron mentions he is portraying James Dean (actor) and Ella is like: Who? Hebe is the only one who knows about him. Point is: Hebe and Aaron’s knowledge of international celebrities are really broad. They have similar tastes (Hebe like British pop/rock and Aaron likes American pop)
6:48 Ella and Aaron was supposed to pose a manly pose. Aaron keeps looking at Ella instead of posing and Selina says something that is probably along the line of ‘why are you looking at her body like that!’ and Hebe says: She (Ella) is already married! 6:57 I don’t actually understand what is going on in this part. I know that they’re supposed to pose with weird objects (I’m happy they’re standing next to each other) and Hebe said something funny about the baby (breast feeding?) and everyone laughs. Aaron touches her arm again hahahaha ( This is in 2014 and not 2007! XD)
7:34 Aaron was asked to give feedback on his former bandmate Calvin Chen who released a single. Aaron awkwardly answered that Calvin’s song is fast and has more rapping. Aaron also says he doesn’t rap that well. Hebe says: and he also rap underwater. Can you do that? Aaron: I will drown rapping underwater. Aaron then continues to awkwardly compliment Calvin and Hebe cuts in and says that Calvin can find her (to collab with) because in all of her posters and etc. she had always worked with water (no joke about this one, this is so true!). Aaron says: And you also went to Iceland to film. Hebe: Yessss (the tone in her voice is so cute hahah it’s not cold) Hebe: Isn’t this helping you to avoid (the interview question)? Don’t ask again! (She helped Aaron avoid an awkward situation [fallout with Fahrenheit question] )
7:58: Aaron’s and Hebe’s STAREDOWN WHOA
8:03 Aaron’s flowers to Hebe (message to wish her concert to go well) I’m not sure what it says but it is something along the line of Hebe’s songs speak the truth?
8:05 Hebe pounces on Aaron lol (this is during S.H.E 14th anniversary event) 8:13 PAY ATTENTION TO BOTH AARON AND HEBE! Aaron looks at Hebe when Selina is fixing Hebe’s hair (this is filmed from the back but at a different angle, he was looking at her) Hebe puts her hand behind Aaron (for what!?!!)
8:29 Aaron almost always poses beside Hebe in a group picture. Usually someone would be in between the two. Anyway, I can just tell they’re staring at each other in some of these clips here hahaha. At one point if you look carefully, Aaron looks at Hebe then Hebe looks at him and he scratched his neck (like how in cartoons it’s like oops she caught me looking at her *scratch, scratch*) 8:52 The moment when Selina looks at Aaron, he puts his hand on Hebe’s shoulder. (WHAT’S THE THiNG WITH SHOULDER LATELY?!) Did you see him smile at Hebe? (Obviously a lot of people will only see the back of Hebe but there are some pictures on Zhen Lun Bar on Tieba which shows these interactions at a different angle)
9:07 Eight years later.. HEBE HUGS AARON! This is the biggest moment in the love team’s story. The point here is: Hebe is very comfortable with Aaron and she will not hestitate to hug him. I think the two of them became very close over the years sine they became solo. Btw in this picture, S.H.E surprise Aaron on his early birthday.
9:12 Aaron posted a picture of him and S.H.E (different angle and poses) and praises S.H.E . Hebe commented: (Unable to translate first couple of words) Serious and dedicated little child (Isn’t Xiao Zi referred to something like little child?) Happy Early Birthday! *Kiss kiss* HER EMOJIS AND HIS REPLY IS SO CUTE! Hebe was the only member to respond this picture too!
9:17 Aaron is asked to recognize some celebrities faces. He couldn’t recognize Emma Wu (Gui Gui, whom he collaborated with and has a famous loveteam called GuiLun) [I realized that Gui Gui changed a lot these years so it’s understandable he didn’t recognize her]. The point her is, he recognized Hebe in a picture that would be hard to recognize (As a fan of Hebe, that picture doesn’t look much like Hebe due to Photoshop). I was surprised he recognized Hebe even though he didn’t collaborate with her.
9:26: Aaron was asked if he was placed in a classroom full of female celebrities he would sit with… Without a thought he went straight for number twelve, in between Hebe and Xiao S. He doesn’t say why he would sit beside Hebe but from the previous clips, he always sit beside her so I feel that this is really the truth. He say that he wants to talk to Xiao S after that but I just say, it’s weird because he’s not close to Xiao S, I’m sure he just wants to sit beside Hebe!
9:40: Aaron went to Hebe’s solo concert twice (note that this is IF PLUS and not IF concert tour). He went for two nights and sat in the same seating. I was concerned about how he was the only celebrity to come twice! And he sat like one seat away from Selina or Ella. In this clip, he was asked to respond to what song did he want to hear from Hebe. I think he said he looked forward to listening to all. He gave the answer: Bu Zui Bu Hui (Learning from Drunk) but he messes up the name of the song and changed it to Bu Zui Bu Ai (Not drunk, will not love). This response is so funny that I laughed so hard because how can he mess up that bad!? 9:54 The flowers that Aaron sent for Hebe’s IF PLUS concert message was the one that stood out the most.This was sent the day before he appeared at the concert. It says: Dear drinking buddy (he used zhi ai and not qin ai) , GOOD LUCK. Funny thing is, is there a connection between the message and the answer he gave in the previous video? If so, it is like Aaron is saying, if Hebe is not drunk, I will not love you. (Hebe and Aaron are both very friendly when they are drunk. Aaron will kiss people in sight and Hebe would speak English and act very open and cute in contrast to her cold personality)
Notes: Video is a crossover between their interactions as “proof” to show that the couple pairing isn’t delusional. When the love team first started, a lot of fans overanalyzed their interaction that just felt delusional to me. Not saying that mine isn’t overanalyzed either. I love this couple pairing the most out of all because Hebe and Aaron may not be open about their relationship (I did not say they are together, they are compatible) but over the years, they got closer and closer. Unlike other male stars, Hebe is the most open to Aaron.
uhhh Jacuzzi, Carnea, Fermet
Jacuzzi: One of the first favorites. I have plenty to say about him, but on the other hand I feel like I’ve said plenty about him already so its starting to sound repetitive.
Why I like them: He’s so damn brave. He’s one of the few mortals in the cast without any skill in fighting or otherwise superhuman ability, but he never hestitates to rush in when somebody needs help. He’s afraid and he knows he’s afraid, but he pushes past it anyway.
Why I don’t: I swear, sometimes it feels like this kid is trying to get himself killed. Just because you CAN be killed doesnt mean you SHOULD be.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The Delinquents That Turn Up In The High Class Neighborhood Are The Same As Always. Jacuzzi being kind and brave and selfless, PLUS heartbreaking backstory, PLUS him fainting dead away at the mention of THE RAYUL TRAYSAH. Its totally my favorite episode.
Favorite season/movie/arc: Honestly, the Flying Pussyfoot arc is still his grandest moment so far.
Favorite line: I HAVE A GUN IN MY HEART
Favorite outfit: Does this child own a change of clothes?
OTP: Nice, obviously.
Brotp: Chane, I love that they’re fast friends.
Head Canon: Jacuzzi really wishes he could play an instrument, but he’s never been able to afford an instrument or lessons. One day, Isaac and Miria procure an entire piano from who-knows-where and they all spend a few nights figuring out a couple of basic songs.
Unpopular opinion: He should just stop. Someone lock him inside so that he can’t fling himself into danger again.
A wish: I wish that he was immortal. I really do, I can’t stand the thought of him growing old and dying.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Don’t kill him. Just.
5 words to best describe them: Nervous, brave, smart, fumbling, reckless
My nickname for them: The Jellybean. Ever since Placido called him that, it’s been all I can call him.Carnea: Still a pretty new character, and even when she showed up she didn’t get to do too much. I’ll say what I can, but I haven’t done too much thinking about her as of yet.
Why I like them: She’s strong-willed
Why I don’t: She’s kind of used as a trophy to Bobby, for turning into a decent human being. It didn’t seem like she had a lot of agency in that pairing-up.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The scene where it’s revealed that she’s Angelo’s boss.
Favorite season/movie: So far she’s only been in 2002
Favorite line: “Everything’s the same, no matter where you go”.
Favorite outfit: Again, only one outfit
OTP: Listen, I know Narita is setting us up for Carnea/Bobby, but I really don’t feel like theres any chemistry between them at all. tbh theres not anyone i would ship her with until she gets more development and agency.
Brotp: I think that she and Illness would get along.
Head Canon: She is really freaked out by immortality until she befriends one of the old gangsters at Alveare.
Unpopular opinion: When I was reading the story, she seemed like kind of a boring character. I can tell she could be a great character if they gave her some room to act, but until then she felt flat.
A wish: I’ve said it before, but I really wish she was given a little more autonomy. She was written to be a bit of a character who gets tossed around and told what to do by the people who know better, I wish she got more opportunity to show her strengths and take charge of something.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Don’t let the Bobby relationship happen without seemingly any autonomy from her. Let us see inside her head, let us see them become friends first before forcing them together.
5 words to best describe them: Caring, nervous, brave, lonely, quiet
My nickname for them: I don’t have one yet for her. Fermet: ugh
Why I like them: Look, I know you expect me to leave this one blank, but I can appreciate that he’s an amazingly good villain. He’s absolutely horrible, but he’s a wonderfully chillingly villainous kind of horrible.
Why I don’t: We don’t need an essay here. What he did to Czes was enough and then it somehow got worse.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The reveal at the end of 2002 was so amazingly terrible
Favorite season/movie: Thats the only one ive read so far where he actually shows up in person.
Favorite line: When he leaves Czes and says something like “I’ll see you again soon.” God, that made my blood boil, but what an amazing villain line.
Favorite outfit: All I know about him is that ruffle-shirt that we see in the anime
OTP: no
Brotp: no
Head Canon: I have literally no clue how he actually survived getting devoured by like three different people, but I think he might have created clones of himself re:Dez and theyve been devouring different pieces of the hivemind. That’s my working headcanon so far.
Unpopular opinion: Nothing is more unpopular than Fermet.
A wish: That it ended with Czes devouring him. Also that he made his grand reappearance back when Felix could have ripped him into pieces.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Don’t let him lay another finger on Czes.
5 words to best describe them: Nauseating, abhorrent, loathsome, detestable, cruel
My nickname for them: FUCK THAT PIECE OF SHIT
