been hugging my mephone4 plush lately for the past.. uhh 3 to 4 days. and ive been getting nothin but dreamless/peaceful sleep or funny dreams on said days (or nights lol) and it may just be a coincidence.. but like. before i even went back to huggin that plush. all i got was tired/sleepless nights and or horrific nightmares

and i stopped hugging that plush ever sonce ep17 came out..

hi hi i have so many Thoughts that i will definitely miss Something but. lots of things. spoilers for ep1 under the cut obvs.

why is every ship getting crumbs. literally all of them. what is wrong with everyone wtf. (except treebark. treebark girlies stay losing)

new mechanic is insanely hype and i am going a little bit feral over it. i've been wanting a UHC-style season for a long time and this seems a great way to kind of. entertainment-fy it i suppose? cus as much as i wanted straight up UHC i can totally understand why players like joel or skizz or scar would struggle hard in that sort of ruleset and it wouldn't be very fun to watch as a result.

i'm a bit.. tentative about the more acknowledgment of the Lore this time around? On one hand i love it and i think it's incredibly cool but on the other hand i know well that lore can eat a series alive if let out of control. Especially when fans start getting pushy about their theories and disappointed when inevitably things aren't as explained or thoroughly confirmed or straight up forgotten. (<-- fnaf fan. i have seen it. it is horrible)

that being said i have trust in grian specifically to handle it well and not go off the deep end with it cus a good chunk of the viewers don't know/care for the lore and if it becomes a Big Thing then a lot of people are gonna end up feeling alienated and confused.

i LOVED Bigb's episode and i think it's like. the ideal way to incorporate lore into a series like this. the way you can Feel that something is off rather than it being explicitly shown. you can choose to write it off or dig deeper. it's good juice. I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again -- Bigb is easily one of the strongest roleplayers on the entire server and his editing REALLY sells it hard. He really melts into what's happening rather than getting up on a platform and shouting THIS PART IS IMPORTANT. LOOK AT ME. which i really appreciate as a kind-of honorary former theatre kid.

but yeah tl;dr i think lore/fan theories should be left to the fandom mainly otherwise it starts getting weird. that being said i trust the life series ppl and can't wait to see what's going on with this season.

now if i may be unhinged myself. i def agree with the theory that Something is up with Bigb's task and maybe whatever gave it to him is trying to mess with the game.

Bigb and Mumbo specifically I felt were acting.. a little OOC the whole episode? Bigb was very much on purpose i think and i reckon mumbo's just excited to be back lol but its fun to think about

the task system has a lot of potential for. fanfic symbolism fuel. i mentioned this on my spam blog i think but something something about the way the players' tasks almost seem to. mock them? a little bit?

like pearl's being to "earn" people's hearts after she failed to make any connections throughout double life and has been somewhat isolated the whole series. bdubs being known for his efficient and beautiful builds being told to make something ugly and useless. scott being implicitly called a parasite with his history of teaming and latching onto one specific person each season. etc. etc.

the teams this time around are looking interesting and i think it's worth noting how it almost feels like.. the opposite of limlife a bit? with how slow and cautious everyone has to play. it seems like over half the server haven't really even joined up with anyone yet which is intriguing. (im personally praying for a scar/jimmy team up. just cus scott said they wouldn't make it lol)

which is great for me cus i loved limlife but the chaoticness of everything did kind of. make deaths less impactful i think? if i see another sky bridge i might scream

im very. of two minds about the scott and impulse team up. because if you dig through my blog you'll see i have kind of a history of being unhinged about those two and their parallels. but i have the sneaking suspicion that their actual dynamic will be like nothing i had in mind lmao

overall i am very excited but trying to control my expectations

oh yeah I watched grians secret life finale like 4 hours ago and I forgot to document a few things-

to start. WOW. what an amazing season that was. I feel like after watching it that it was perfect! great job players AND admins for a certainly unforgettable experience. 👍

Now, for regular notes on various parts of the series. what i think should be first to be mentioned, is the fact that grian STILL died after all his teammates. that curse remains. but Jimmy! yay Jim! he wasn't first out this season! but also poor lizzie. nobody went to her birthday party and then she was the first out. rip 🙏. and mumbo, oh mumbo, you sweet, naive fool. who could've thought that something so innocent could become so deadly. be careful around fences, they're meant to keep you out 🤷‍♂️. but the warden and wither hard task was probably my favorite. what an episode! close second of course would be the boogey-pocalypse. the fact that grian hiding in a tower made gem fail her task is crazy. I haven't watched Scott's series yet so I don't even know what happened there and I'm not quite sure I want to! Scott is Scott! he's a mystery to the human mind! and to the boogey men apparently! but I did see somebody point this out and I can't remember for the life of me who or where, but grian and cleo are the only ones to have not gotten the boogeyman curse, and when Scott got it, he didn't kill anyone. idk about limited life cuz I think he got boogeyman man in the beginning but I haven't watched LL since it came out lol. but the fact that Grian Cleo and Scott, the only ones that havent killed for the boogey, didn't get infected during the whole shebang?! you look me in the eyes GrianMC and tell me that this series isn't scripted! BUT OMG OMG OMG APPARENTLY SCAR WON?!?!?!?!?! LITERALLY WHAT?!?!?!?! AND- on the topic of scar- HIS RED SKIN AAAAAAAA. the lilacs and poppies :( WHY :( WHO MADE HIS SKIN I NEED TO HUG THEM NOW :( and scar being the quote "villain" this season? woah. anyway I still need to go watch other people's series (starting with gem and scar ofc) and I'll probably make a post for them too if I get invested. I’m a big fan of Twinkly Trash, Moss o Menos, and Bdubs’ mud shop (does that one have a name? I can’t remember)! The build styles those are in absolutely fascinates me, and I’d love to be able to replicate them myself some day!

100% Doc and Cleo. Doc’s base and shenanigans this season have been really interesting to see from the outside, but his episodes are so long that it’s a little daunting to catch up on lol.

Here's a flowchart that was used for S8, but I can also give you a bit of info on the hermits that I've watched!

Grian - Uploads rather frequently, I'd say about once a week. Does mostly builds and shenanigans, with a bit of farms on the side. For this season, he's interacting most with Scar, Impulse, Pearl, and Mumbo (this group is known as the Boatem crew)

Scar - Lighthearted building and fun! Always doing something unexpected and owns hats of various sizes apparently for this season? Part of the Boatem crew.

Bdubs: Bdoubleo100, aka the Sleep King, aka the Horse Prince, aka the Most Gorgeous Face on the server! Built an entire mountain in less than a week (it's hollow but shhh don't tell anyone). Lots of building and if you're lucky you may catch a Redstone with Bdubs segment, though it's not often. He's part of the Big Eye crew, along with Tango and Keralis. Uploads a little less than once a week?

Tango: Lots of redstone! It's still very early in the season yet he's made some very impressive farms already. Also he's the CEO of fart jokes now I guess. Cool. Uploads once or twice a week.

Impulse: Lots of redstone but also he's been getting involved in more shenanigans lately? He's very quirky and def one of my faves to watch. I believe he uploads twice a week but he also streams a lot, more notably than any of the others on this list (Tango streams a bit too but Impy streams a LOT)

Etho: Ethooooo he's cool. He's been doing some small redstone farms lately. Despite having watched all his videos this season, I actually don't quite remember what else he's doing, other than that horse thing with Bdubs. He's also Iskall's roomate. He's an enigma. Love that guy. Uploads less than once a week I think.

Geminitay: One of the newbies! I watched the first two episodes of Gem's series but I don't keep up with her as much now. She does a lot of building and seems to be going for a cottagecore theme this season. She lives near False and Stress I believe? I think she uploads about once a week, maybe more.

Xisuma: I don't even watch Xisuma but I do think that all new fans should at least know who he is. He's head admin of the server and also God of Time. I don't mean that within Minecraft, I mean that within our realm. Seriously, he puts out so much content so fast and streams on top of that and manages 2 or 3 other channels and a website or two? He's insane. Lots of redstone and also building and also he's got this roleplay thing going on with his evil counterpart, Evil X? X scares me.

Rendog: I used to watch Ren back in S6 and I haven't watched him since. He does a lot of stuff with his own story arc for each season, and right now he's involved with an ARG (Augmented Reality Game iirc) with Docm77. He's a cool guy, I just don't have the capacity for his storyline, lol. His uploads are less frequent than any other Hermit on this list.
