This was a fun episode, I loved it!! Seeing my boys is always a plus and I appreciate the return of some side characters. With how the world is right now, I really needed this episode. So, thanks Team, for keeping my spirits up.

I just enjoyed watching my silly little guys doing silly little adventures. Traffic is a nightmare so I don't blame Mario in the slightest. Anyway, 3 and 4, how was your date? /silly

Can we just talk about the animation? It was so good!!! You really see the quality they put in, especially in that fighting scene. I didn't expect MARTY of all people to be the cause of all this. I honestly thought it was going to be a gag of something harmless just being in the middle of the road for no reason (like a turtle or smth) and the Crew being like "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!" but NOPE, Marty was here and apparently A SORCERER?! I really shouldn't be surprised, what am I talking about here. And ofc the OG duo immediately beating the shit out of him is so fucking funny to me. He didn't die (I know that), but he's definitely going to be more relevant in the future.

I haven't read everything on the Hiro post yet but MAN i really really like the world building with all the different "creatures"/states of being, specially how the ghosts can turn into demons via tainting of their solds during the time they linger on earth, so so cool, tho it does make me wonder if there's some kind of force, be it human or otherworldly, that haunts the ghosts so that they don't turn it like that, i think those are the exorcistis you mentioned? But if you did go in-depth about them in the post i must have missed it ^^' either ways i would love to read a full world lore post of sorts that just goes in depth about all the different character types (Ghosts, angels, guardians, demons and whatever the grandfather and father actually were)

I'm also curious on how the world of this universe is? Like is it set in modern time? Past, future or is it a lot more fantasy-esc? Either ways, consider me a fan of sorts

Take your time reading it, it's quite long, I'll admit. ^^; And yes, the exorcists are the forces that keep ghosts from suffering from the Taint, and helping them move on. I thought I elaborated a little more on Exorcists/gave them their own paragraph but I only gave them, like, a sentence upon rereading the post, whoops. In my defense, I was working all day on that post so it's no surprise that I missed a few things.

Exorcists are able to use the tools at their disposal, usually of religious value but some are able to use tools of magical value with the help of a Guardian or using their own soul to power the tool but at risk of themselves. They come in to help the ghosts come to terms with their death, appeasing their souls, and even helping them with their goals/final wish...if it's morally sound, anyways. If the ghost refuses to see reason or is corrupted with too much Taint, exorcists may have to use force through the tools at their disposal to force them to the AfterLife. Exorcists know they must save their souls before the Taint becomes worse, as once a ghost turns into a demon, that soul is lost forever.

But to answer your question on what type of world this is, it's set in the modern time where supernatural events happen a lot, kinda like an urban fantasy? I don't know what it's specifically called, but if I have to use an example, it's like Gravity Falls where weird and creepy supernatural shit happens all the time but no one believes it even though the very environment they live in can be dangerous. (It should be noted that I have not watched Gravity Falls, it's just the first example that popped into my head.) The town and city that most of the plot takes place in is especially a hotspot for supernatural events. But due to the development of science and such, skepticism of the supernatural and just trying to logic away strange happenings have become a huge norm in society. It doesn't help that there are people that uses exorcisms as an excuse to scam people, so the exorcist community they've built for centuries tends to have a bad rep these days that a lot of them have to take other jobs just to pay their bills. An OC that is an exorcist has to deal with this constantly to the point that she takes literally any job that comes her way for money. She's got bills to pay and rent due for her store/house, her charges are perfectly fair, please hire her, please, please please please please- (half-joking)

There is an otherworldly system called the Reapers, who are Lost Souls that are chosen to help ghosts move on into the AfterLife. It's sort of like a job for them, as many Lost Souls are people that didn't go out of their way to be good but aren't bad people either, just your average person. Some willingly take this job so that they can work towards going to Heaven while others simply do it to pass the time until it's time for them to go into Reincarnation. Those that don't simply just hang out and relax in the safe places in Purgatory. However, Reapers aren't always assigned to take care of ghosts. More often than not, they go down to the mortal realm to take the souls of the deceased, people who haven't become ghosts, and help transport them to the AfterLife from the river of death. Depending on what the soul's destined location is, a Reaper's job can range from relatively safe (the path to Heaven) to dangerous (the path to Hell). This is mostly cause Demons tend to escape Hell or even form outside of it due to any accumulated sin tainting the environment, and will go after the Reapers for the souls they are protecting and transferring. Even souls that are destined for Hell need to be protected as, again, Demons grow stronger through consumption of souls and any that are left behind will only turn them into a bigger problem later. Naturally, Demons are more common near Hell while they're very rare to spot near Heaven. Purgatory is pretty much smack dab in the middle, so it's a toss of a coin if you'll see a Demon on their way to the mortal realm or not. But yeah, Reapers will occasionally help a Ghost move on before they suffer from the Taint and will even work with an exorcist if they cross paths on the same jobs.

(Reincarnation is also a very natural part of life and death in this world, where every soul - with the exception of many souls in Hell, unless some were allowed to work on redemption as a Guardian and genuinely at that - will be reborn as a new person in the mortal realm. Most Lost Souls will reincarnate after some time they've spent there, while those in Heaven can choose how long they want to stay due to how peaceful and serene it is. Most souls in Heaven will go on to reincarnate with family or friends, whether it's those they made back in the mortal realm or people they met in Heaven. Everyone reincarnates, eventually, even those in Hell, whether they accomplish redemption as a Guardian or a Cleansing of their soul. Unless they're in the deepest levels of Hell. That level is reserved for the worst of the worst, and no one plans to let them out. Ever.)

It'd be easier to keep track of rather than rambling off-the-cuff in a Tumblr post and then having to scroll down all the time to find the specific one I want. The cataclysm didn't discriminate. It tore apart families, friends, companions, almost even nations. Death became such a norm that there weren't nearly enough people to bury the sheet amount of corpses before disease began to root in camps. Instead, they had them incinerated in a giant bonfire every night.

Raiden ei stood so close to the fire, one night, but no one dared disturb her even if her clothes risked scorching and her skin suffered burns. It's not like she could feel it, anyway, with how terribly numbing the casualty report had been to listen to.

The only comfort she had later in the privacy of her own tent was her sister, and a retired blade next to makoto's musou isshin. Regretfully, nothing would ever warm the cold pillow next to hers. Her silent, tearful promise of eternity falls to no one.

And that's the burden she lived with, on top of her sister's passing shortly after, for the next five hundred years. She is no leader, so she often finds herself turning to an old, fading portrait of her beloved general's smile when she can no longer find reason in herself.

ayeee so it's that time of year again!! i know i haven't posted much in 2022 (like... just a handful of fics oops) but i still hit a decent word count and made significant progress on long fic wips!

1. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or what you predicted?

a bit less!! it's about half as much as i wrote last year (which was a whooping 150k word count LMAO), but this range is already more than the average for me in any given year so it's not too bad. in terms of what i POSTED though... i have no excuse for that 😅 most of my word count is from wips/ideas so i didn't have any finished content to post

2. What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?

last january i definitely didn't know i would write for svt!! i kind of had a feeling that deobiblr was already dying at the time, and that's around when i started watching going seventeen to get into them... but yeah didn't know i'd slip so deep into the carat life (blaming you, kim mingyu 😒)

3. What’s your own favourite story of the year?

it's a time loop au wip that i've written about 19k so far!! where our mc is stuck in a loop trying to change their fate of unrequited love by meeting [boy group member] first before his current gf does. so mc tries to alter events and change the course of fate all while trying to figure out a way to leave the loop

4. Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

uhHHhhH the time loop au i suppose is a risk in itself... bc like... plotting it has been a complete pain when you're trying to consider multiple reruns of the same timeline. every detail has to be in the right place so that when the mc's actions change, we can directly see how that affects the events in the timeline

also writing domestic fluff like i did in best boy... can't say i enjoyed it but it was a good challenge!!

it all started with this one art idea I had maybe a year ago (it's a wip lost to the ages that may never be finished)

it was basically knight Kagami kneeling down to look at mermaid Marinette who was half in and out of the water smiling up at her

and because i have no self control I accidentally brainstormed an entire mini-story for it

we find ourselves watching as Knight Kagami (who comes from a long line of honorable, greatly capable, and respectable knights and warriors) serving some kingdom I haven't come up with a name for

adrien's a marquess and his father's a duke, chloe's the princess with her parents as the rulers, and, to be honest, the kingdom's falling to ruin because of them BUT THAT'S A WHOLE NOTHER STORY AND CONSEQUENTLY IRRELEVANT TO THIS

anyways back to Kagami

so she's a well-known young knight, right?

and one day while she's out patrolling and she goes a bit farther than her route strictly pertains to but she's bored and feeling adventurous, sue her.

she ends up at a very small and rocky secluded beach where she catches a glimpse of something so unbelievable that kagami's half convinced she imagined it and gaslit herself into believing it was real

shocker, it's mermaid marinette who was having fun sitting on a rock in an almost comically cliche mermaid pose. girl was just vibin taking in the beauty of the mortal world like 'wow look at these colors and these shapes and the fluidity of movement up here is so different and it's dry and warm and-' anyways you get the picture

she sees kagami and books it back into the water. kagmi's left standing there like 'did I just see a mermaid? a very beautiful, breathtaking, ethereal-looking mermaid? with a cute smile? preposterous.'

not so preposterous, though, because kagami's intrigued enough to always deviate from her patrol route now. miss goes out of her way to go to this beach in hopes of catching this mermaid. yep. definitely catching. definitely not to stare at them. nope.

mari's just sorta watching from a distance like 'wow a human, haven't interacted with much of those. she's pretty. she has shiny scales.'

eventually she gets bold and one day she just. pulls herself out of the water in front of kagami and stares up at her. as if it were a normal occurrence

kagami is trying (and failing) very hard to not look like a floundering idiot in front of this gorgeous mermaid and marinette just starts garbling

bc mermaids don't exactly speak french, y'know? or any human language for that matter.

and mari's all exasperated and slightly fed up bc even tho she can't understand this other creature she knows she's being talked to like a baby so she just gestures for kagami to come closer

and the other girl does

then mari grabs her hand, yanks her down, and holds kagami's face inches from her own.

and kagami's trying (and once again failing) to hold it together and not disturb what is clearly some sort of magic process

suddenly, like, directly into her ear, she hears this absolutely adorable voice speak to her in fluent french 'hi! I'm marinette, what's your name?'

kagami is like, 'oh the mermaid can talk to me now' and now the two are making pleasant conversation and kagami regularly visits her dear friend *cough cough* yes friend *violent coughing attack* mhm. friiiiieeeend *keels over from violent coughing*

i'm sure i could fit interesting plot in here somewhere. i really could. but. the foundation for the first bit has been set. marigami mermaid au

set in a universe where i could so easily create another story to intertwine with this one, but the other story would feature the rest of the cast.

oh! i didn't include it bc this is already way longer than I thought it would be (kinda lost myself there a bit, whoops) but I definitely have a way to reverse so it's human mari and mermaid kagami btw, and the story and universe would be different too. so. yep.

@apple-scrumper‘s tags on this post about Zuko and Azula having the same vibes as Adaine and Aelwyn got me thinking about an a:tla au for fantasy high, and it spiralled out of control into this super long post. Enjoy!!

Adaine’s family are Fire Nation and are Important Advisors to the Fire Lord Kalvaxus. Adaine and Aelwyn have that sibling rivalry going HARD – Aelwyn has already mastered lightning-bending and Will Not Shut Up About It. Really, Adaine, it’s not that difficult, I don’t understand why you can’t do it? (Adaine punches her)

Adaine is invited to sit in on a war meeting and has a panic attack when she realises the evil things they’re all up to, embarrassing her parents. They send her on what they think is a futile quest to find the Avatar to regain her Honour. She is accompanied by Arthur Aguefort, another advisor to the Fire Lord but one who is... a problem, to say the least. Two birds with one stone for the Fire Nation!

Kristen is from the Northern Water Tribe and is a pretty powerful waterbender, with a focus on healing. Her parents are super involved in this weird bloodbending cult but she’s pretty sure it’s normal, right??? 

She also has some kind of connection to the Spirit World, which makes her extremely vulnerable to the weird end of days sacrifice Daybreak is doing to try and reopen the spirit world.

Fig lives in the Earth Kingdom in a town that’s been conquered by the Fire Nation and joins some other rebels pretty much as soon as she can walk. She’s sure she’s going to be an earthbender like her mom and kick some serious Fire Nation butt, but then it turns out she can firebend? Gilear’s not her dad? Her mom slept with someone from the Fire Nation??? How could she???

(It’s only when they visit the Fire Nation several shenanigans later and meet Ayda that she’s like.............okay I get it now.)

The Thistlesprings are metalbenders, and live in the same town as the Faeths. They adopted Gorgug from a village that was destroyed in a fire nation attack and aren’t super sure where his parents were from. Gorgug can’t bend, but he’s happy to be just a Guy with an axe helping out Fig and the other rebels.

UNTIL one time in the heat of battle his axe is knocked away from him and there’s a Fire Nation soldier going for an injured Fig and he doesn’t think, just reacts on instinct and his axe flies through the air and knocks the guy tf out. So seems like he is a metalbender after all? Cool!

He’s not super great at it yet, so he sticks with his axe while he’s learning, and mostly uses it to enhance his attacks by bending the axe head to hit a target more accurately. 

Fabian is technically Water Tribe through his dad and Air Nomad through his mom but Bill and Hallerial have spent the past twenty years being a scourge of the seas to all the nations indiscriminately so they might have disowned him. He thinks he’s a non-bender like his dad and gets by with his sword and athletic ability. 

It’s not until later in their adventures, after his dad dies and he has a brutal encounter with some of his ex-crewmates, that he visits one of the Air Nomad temples (which aren’t as destroyed in this au I guess lol) where his grandfather is an airbending monk teacher (for teens, ofc). Telemine teaches him to dance and helps him figure out he can airbend like his mom! 

Like Gorgug, he mostly uses it to enhance his swordfighting ability rather than being a primary bender, but starts using his sheet to glide and do other airbending stuff while fighting!

Riz and Sklonda live in the lower ring of Ba Sing Se, and both of them are earthbenders. Sklonda works for the earthbender guards but on the side she’s trying to work out what’s going on with the Dai Li, which Pok was investigating before he died. (Riz thinks his dad was killed by the Fire Nation.) 

Riz begins investigating the same thing without his mom knowing when his best friend/babysitter Penny Luckstone goes missing, presumed captured by the Fire Nation. His bending is this very precise form where he uses little rocks to go at high speeds like bullets and just fucking obliterate people, since in the middle of a crowded city there aren’t a tonne of places to practise with big rocks. 

The story begins properly when the rebels get word that very important people from the Fire Nation are visiting a nearby town. Fig and Gorgug lie in wait to ambush them and capture them for leverage.

Before they can attack, however, a pirate ship swings into the harbour, led by Bill and Fabian Seacaster, and opens fire. They don’t care about politics, they just want that fancy Fire Nation shit.

The rebels (read: Fig) decide, fuck it, we’ll attack with the pirates, and then the Fire Nation crew waiting on the shore go to fight them and it’s all extremely chaotic. 

Adaine is having a Very Bad Time.  She hasn’t found the Avatar, she’s no better at firebending, Arthur Aguefort is So Much All The Time, and now she’s being attacked by pirates??? Her life sucks. 

Fig, Gorgug and Fabian all end up in a standoff against her in the lower decks of the ship. Because it’s Adaine, she’s not going down without a fight, and she goes to blast the pirate-y looking dude with fire.

Except it’s not fire that comes rushing out. It’s air. 

Oh shit.

She’s the Avatar. 

Whilst she’s panicking about that, the rebel crew and Fabian agree that they need to get her away from the Fire Nation, and take her to Gorgug’s parent’s boat. Arthur Aguefort blows up the Fire Nation ship to let them get away and everyone thinks he died (spoiler: he didn’t)

Cue a series of insane shenanigans as Fig and Gorgug decide to adopt Adaine and take her around the world to learn other types of bending so she can restore balance to the world and kill her piece-of-shit abusive father (the Fire Lord, too, but the Abernants Are A Priority once Adaine warms up enough to them to talk about her parents). 

Fabian helps them escape but doesn’t join them straight away. They keep running into each other in weird places until eventually they’re like do you... just want to come with us?? Fabian: No. (Yes.) 

They save Kristen from this weird sacrifice thing whilst visiting the Northern Water Tribe, and she agrees to teach Adaine waterbending. She also helps her out with the spiritual side of being the Avatar.

Riz becomes Adaine’s earthbending teacher when they meet him in Ba Sing Se and help him figure out what the fuck is up the Dai Li. 

Once the Abernants and the Fire Lord hear what happened, they send Aelwyn after Adaine and the gang to finish what her sister started, not realising she’s the avatar. An epic sister/sister rivalry and eventually redemption on the levels of Azula and Zuko begins.

Stray thoughts

The entire point of this long-ass post was for me to say that Jawbone is Uncle Iroh in this au. He Just Is.

Tracker is a Kyoshi warrior. Kristen still has some weird internalised sexism going on from being raised in this cult and is like, women shouldn't fight!! They’re too soft and pretty!! Tracker helps her learn to let go of that, and then also kisses her and sends her into a gay panic.

Kalina is a bloodbender working with the Dai Li and is DEFINITELY involved in Pok’s death.

The Hangman as a Sky Bison! Boggy as Momo! (Adaine picks him up in the Swamp) 

This au is inherently funny to me bc Aang is a pacificist and struggles so much with whether or not to kill the Fire Lord, but if Adaine was the Avatar she would have absolutely no such qualms. Murder? Sign me up! 

The idea of Adaine, the avatar, with command over all four elements, bridge to the spirit world, still just decking someone when she gets mad is also really fucking funny.

So she learns waterbending from Kristen, earthbending from Riz, airbending from Telemine, and firebending from Ayda. I think she learns firebending properly last - it turns out the reason she struggled with it so much is because her parents taught her it comes from anger and hatred, and she needed to find and learn love before she could use it properly. 

Fabian gets the Zuko eye scar from being attacked by a firebender (Dayne) instead of it getting cut out. 

Gorthalax is a Fire Nation commander who rebelled and fled to the Earth Kingdom where he met Sandralynn. He got recaptured which is why he wasn’t around in Fig’s life, but they eventually find him in prison and set him free.

Gilear is the ‘my cabbages!’ guy, but he sells yoghurt.

Some not-so-common North American bros headcanons let's go:

Ÿ Not just na bros but all nations are born. Either to human parents or nations or even a combination (although that's very rare). I hc them to be born of the same mother: "Native America". Now, I don't for a second think that she represented North American or the native population in general. I think she was the Algonquin (maybe) representation. A nation among many in the North Americas. Alfred's biological dad is the rat man (Arthur) and Matthew's is of course Francis (very shit dad very bad father wouldn't recommend).

Ÿ Alfred visits Matt so often that Matt's neighbors know him by name. On the other hand, Matt rarely visits Alfred for one reason or another. I believe it's just their tradition.

Ÿ What if?? Matt supported cannabis businesses?? Matt after the 1960s and Alfred's capitalism training is unstoppable! I later imagine him investing in cannabis and real estate. It's a niche hc but one I will elaborate on more in the future. I will gladly fight anyone on this! Also, Matt probably has a very nice modern house/smaller mansion somewhere in the forests of British Columbia, yet the bastard prefers his wooden cabins and apartments in Quebec.

Ÿ Alfred has penthouses all over the states. Loves a traditional blue suburban tho!

Ÿ When Alfred was a child he would often sneak out of the house during the night and go somewhere out in the fields and meadows to watch the night sky. He was (and still is) so fascinated with what lies beyond that he sometimes wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Arthur would often freak out over his disappearance of course. Yet nothing could hold the boy back. Not any lock and certainly not his dad or his governess. He would just lay there in the grass imagining a way to go up there and see what no one has yet seen. Imagining himself being the one to explore this vast nothingness. (Imma cry a lil bit excuse me pls) These days Al spends his free time working with nasa ofc.

Ÿ Both have daddy issues I mean that's a given jesus christ

Ÿ Speaking of daddy issues, Matt hasn't talked to Francis as a son should with his father in a long ass time. I'd even say they haven't talked like family ever. Sure they have one on one conversations but they are brief and not very deep. Idk if ppl will get me but what I mean is, they talk like friends and colleagues, not like father and son.

Ÿ Arthur and Alfred bicker and can be cold to each other, but they do exchange moments that befit a father and son at times.

Ÿ In my mind, Matt is the older of the two. An older brother overshadowed by his younger sibling. Tho he doesn't really mind it all that much. He saw what power does to those who wield it and doesn't want to be a part of it. Being this close to a superpower and not being part of it has its benefits tho. Economic growth and all that jazz.

Ÿ While Matt is a born artist, Alfred is excellent at math. Both are incredibly intelligent young men. :)

Malchior and Abel surprised me from the first time around. But in draft 2 the pining was so intense I had to take my sunglasses out 🤣 Imera and Late also have a great dynamic<3 full of teasing there and theirs is the trope of doomed lovers

2. Which of your characters do you think readers will ship?

Anne/the Mother - this would have some textual support ahem ahem, but rather than romance they have a very disfunctional thing going on. The Mother is in many ways more lonely than Tyrone and doesn't mind acting on impulse, while Anne... also doesn't think much of it

Imera/Late

Yres/Mezusa - any iteration of this, platonic or romantic, would make me extremely happy to see. Just more of these two in general, and tho I haven't included them in the question above, their bond is one of the strongest. They teach each other many, many things

Anne/Malchior - as much as it hurts me to write this... I also know how the human brain works sadly. But no. We need more platonic relationships y'all

Color/Belief - okay I'll probably be a one person fandom for this 🤣 given that they have no scenes together. But I see what I see 🤷‍♀️

Yesss! Imera and Late, who are also the only official couple in the story. At the time Late had forgotten he was an angel, and Imera was working his way through a disease-related calamity. He was Imera's pillar of support as the situation degenerated, always helping him to stay strong. He was this strange dude collecting puppies and sheltering them in Imera's chapels, until, one day, he makes the mistake of praying to him.

When the prayer burns Imera, it turns out, he's an angel. They didn't start on the right foot, as Imera felt deeply betrayed by this.

(He'd managed to save no one, after all.)

5. What’s your dream love confession scene between your characters?

Something soft. Something very casual. Usually when I write about love, both characters know it way before it's first said out loud. There isn't a need for it. They know each other too well for that.

(Also if I do write a confession scene, my mind takes me back to Sophie confessing with killer weed solution 🤣 something that casual, something that fun.)

So if it doesn't involve the Mother throwing something after Anne, then they're sitting under the rooftop, watching Tyrone unleash his chaos in the fields. And it slips out from Anne, I love you.

To which the Mother snorts and tells her to keep it to herself, Tyrone's brain is already pudding after all.

And Anne tips her head the Mother's way. Shrugs a shoulder lazily. No, the both of them.

And it's guilt, and it's butterflies in her stomach, because, like her child, she's always craved connection, and goddammit the angel is breathtaking. But at the end of the day... she spends the night in the graveyard to cool off 🤣🤣

Hello Fox !!💖 I remember you telling me to let you know when i have seen Turning Red already. So here i am 😤 i have actually seen it the past few days ago tho i just don't have enough energy to compile my thoughts (yes i have tried typing my live thoughts down so i could say something 😂 it does matters still, right?).

I love how their temple looks like, it looks outstanding and really pretty 🤩🤩🤩 i'm lowkey loving the cooking scene, it looks like an irl advertisement 🤤🥺 Seeing her "solving the quadratic equation" gave me flashbacks back then when i was studying it— it's traumatizing and i'd never want to go back to that phase again (+ i forgot it already) yet i can see college whooping my ass in the future 😂😭 I cracked up when Mei felt something awakening inside of her and started to doodle an ikemen guy with defined abs that looks like Devon 😭

😭 I FELT THE EMBARASSMENT when her mom picked up her notebook,, i'd be praying for my life too if that would happen to me. And of course, her mom misunderstood the situation. 10/10 can relate as an asian, they're very protective yet stubborn at the same time 😩😩 they'd assume some stuff and refuse to listen to their kid smh smh. Idk if it's all asian moms but they're very reactive and emotional when there's some guy other than your dad or relatives that are involved 😩

I was so shocked when her mom transformed 😭😭😭 why is it dinosaur sized ??!?! 😰😰😰 I haven't continued typing anything around this part but i love how we are able to see her aunt and grandma's forms too. It cleared my questions of "does the aunts have panda form too or only her mom?"

And tbh, her mom in her younger years looks so fine ?? I didn't expect that 😂🤩 she looks really nice. + Sun Yee's panda form is so lovely. It just lowkey creeps me out how she isn't saying anything and stays silent tho 😰

Figured out that by the end of the movie, Mei embraces her panda instead of abandoning it, for it's also a part of herself :DD the movie's really good, and i have forgiven Tyler too 💀💀 i really wanted to punch that boy in the first scenes.

the fact that ming lee’s panda is so enormous and we aren't given any explanation as to why in the world she’s like that… it makes me wonder. can pandas grow? or once you get them do they stay the same size? i feel like out of all the family members, she was the one who struggled the most, and that’s why she’s so controlling with meimei. i think at some point she liked her panda, too. but who knows! maybe i’m just reading too much into it.
