aether (one of the) main character(s) in hit game genshin impact hits on you.
thank u sm for beta reading @mitsies i love u and your silly comments and insightful suggestions on googledocs, wc 700, NO ONE IS ACTUALLY DEAD
“Holy—Archons!”
Anyone would be surprised if a body materialized from thin air right in front of you, lifeless like a doll. You stare at the body, thoughts racing as fast as your heartbeat, and all the while, the man with sun threads as hair lay eerily still on the ground, eyes fluttered shut.
The man is terrifyingly beautiful, like a fallen star. A limp and unmoving fallen star, that is. Your jaw extends to the ground, terrified and—mystified? Immediately, your instincts scream at you to perform emergency measures, but—
A pixie comes barreling in from somewhere, tears running down her cheeks as she zeroes in on the presumably dead body.
“Was he your friend?” you ask quietly, mourning on her behalf. Were they siblings? The way she’s slapping his face around seems so.
“He’s not dead!” the little pixie exclaims, sniffling and shaking the apparently not-dead body.
You stare at her, perplexed. “Then why are you crying?”
“Because Paimon had to go through that trial challenge alone!”
“The what?”
Paimon huffs, slamming her tiny fists on the man’s bare waist. It seems to not even have left a mark on his skin. “You wake him up. Paimon’s upset at him.”
It’s hard to say no when tears are rolling down her face. Obediently, you poke around the man’s shut eyes, and it snaps open.
You flinch back. He blinks blearily.
“Are you okay?” You study his face, looking for any signs of a newly born zombie, but his face looks flushed and as healthy as any living human being. His eyes are bright and gold as they stare back at you.
“I’m in heaven,” he says. “Celestia has done it. I’m seeing angels, and I’m in heaven.”
Angels? Celestia?
Paimon tackles his face, shaking his shoulders and crying. “You’re not dead, dummy! How dare you leave Paimon in Dragonspine! All alone, Aether!”
“Oh,” Aether says, sounding almost disappointed. “Then…?”
“You’re not dead,” you agree with Paimon, because evidence lies before you despite the initial fright. However, his comment about angels has you a little flustered. “Um, what happened?”
“Ah,” Aether laughs sheepishly, rubbing the nape of his neck. “I failed the trial, and it respawned me back here. Which is weird—I haven’t been in Bubu Pharmacy for ages!”
“I’m sorry?”
Aether jumps to his feet, startling you enough to fall on your ass. He grins down at you and offers a hand. “At least I got to meet you,” he says, pulling you up from the grass. You stumble from his strength; he catches you easily, and you bump against his chest. “Or—not meet you yet. What’s your name?”
You can’t believe the previously perished fallen star is now hitting on you. “I’m… Y/N.”
“Y/N,” he repeats, smiling broadly. “I’ll remember that.”
You hope that your face doesn’t betray the warmth you feel fluttering under your skin.
Aether sighs, casting a glance at the ground he was previously lying on. “Sorry you had to see that. That was probably very disturbing and decidedly not flattering for me.”
You can’t help but laugh. Aether beams. “Does that happen often?”
“When I get a little rusty, yeah.” He tilts his head, looking at you up and down, then around your surroundings. “Do you work here? I haven’t seen you around before.”
“Just recently.” You gesture vaguely to the side, feeling a little shy. “If you don’t see me hanging around, it’s probably because I’m always loitering the docks to watch out for exhausted tourists.”
Aether’s smile turns sly. “Nurse me back to health, would you?”
But then Paimon starts tugging on his ear and away from you, a relief for your racing heart. “Enough flirting! You can come back here after you unlock that precious chest!”
“Ow, ow, okay,” Aether laughs, hesitating, before letting you slip from his hold. He takes a few steps back, his smile as blinding as stars seconds away from exploding. “The docks, right? I’ll see you soon!”
By 'soon,' you hope he doesn't mean he'll attempt to die again immediately, but you figure you'll find out eventually. You glance around to see if anyone is watching, then decide to take a stroll around the docks for reasons no one should know.
i cant believe mitzi's first aether fic is THIS i feel so ashamed lmfao, but TY FOR READING!!!!! <3

Astarion would never admit it, but the charming lines he uses as a constant attempt to seduce you are not all his own.
He’s talented, he knows, at coming up with the heart skipping lines, describing in detail the massive amount of so-called ‘adoration’ he says he can give. He knows how to flirt, and he knows even better that despite the way you roll your eyes, he’s starting to wedge his way into your heart.
But sooner or later, ideas come to an end. And he’s starting to think you’re incapable of falling in love if he’s used all his lines and you still haven’t approached him. Perhaps you just don’t do romance. But hope wavers. Why he’s so adamant on wrapping you of all companions around his finger, he doesn’t know. He knows you’re the most difficult to seduce, yet he can’t help himself.
You’re almost like a drug to him.
So, unable to quit, he turns to his books. They’re sappy romances, and many of the lines even manage to make him scrunch his nose, scoffing at the sheer disbelief of how unrealistic some of the scenarios are. But hours upon hours later, he picks out some of the most upfront lines, because he’s sure you’ll just ignore him otherwise.
He knows you have little interest in romance, but he wants to entice you. He wants to be good enough for you to look at him.
“I must confess that the moment I laid eyes on you, everything in my body and soul told me you were the one.”
You stare at him, eyes lidded and barely fazed. Puzzled, he has no choice but to continue.
“My heart beats terribly, my beloved, whenever I see you bathing in the glory of the sun. My breath quickens, but vanishes when you get a step closer. My very existence, it seems, is meant to yearn for you,” he rattles off the lines of the book, as enticingly as he can, with eyes so seductive that they almost appear to glow. “Your beauty is unmatched with any other. If you asked, I would die—“
“—a million times in the thorns adorning my own desire,” you cut in, and his eyes widen. “The skies could fall and I would use my bloodied body to hold you up again, against the starry nights as a star gleaming brightest in its competition.”
As you finish the line, he blinks, completely and utterly confused. “How did you-“
“It’s my favorite book,” you confess sheepishly.
Astarion, for the first time, sees you as you are. He sees you as the being who yearns for love, just as a young maiden would yearn for their prince—perhaps even more innocent. He’s read you completely wrong, and he feels his throat close up. “It’s…it’s a childish one.”
Your cheeks burn, and he thinks you almost look cute. He rips away from the thoughts though, appalled at what he just considered. “I think it’s romantic.”
“No kind of love is so ideal.”
And while your face falls, you lift your head to look at him with squinted eyes. “…next time, just make your own lines—-or, at least, don’t choose ones that don’t fit you.”
“Don’t fit me? How so?”
“I doubt we would’ve fallen in love at first sight. You had a knife to my throat.”
“A loving knife.”
You stifle a laugh, and he swears he can’t take his eyes off of you. “Well…if you want, I have other books in my tent if you want to see…I have a few you might like, or at least, help.”
He just stares at you, only realizing moments later that you were awaiting an answer. “Ah, of course, darling. I’d love to accompany you. Perhaps I’ll learn a new line or two, though I doubt any writing has as much charisma as myself.”
You smile softly, nodding. “Okay then. Come over tonight after dinner, and I’ll show you.”
And as you walk away, he thinks that rather than him doing the charming and you falling irrevocably in love with him as it should have gone, your interaction has left him charmed instead.
It seems the romance novels are more than just effective at their jobs.

Sunrise
Faint beam of artificial light from a surface danced off yellow armor of an Autobot, giving it a color of a newborn star. Bumblebee graced the Decepticon with a broad smile, its warmth making the hostile gloom around his facial features to dissipate.
To Blitzwing a minibot reminded a stray ray of hope which arrived to safe lost souls from a long dead and forgotten world.
A true rising sun in the realm of darkness.
----------
Alright, fellas, next entry to the @blitzbee-week event is finally here)). The prompt of the second day was "Sunrise" and I decided to go more figuratively with it rather then depicting a literal "appearance of the sky" at a particular part of a day. As you can guess by a provided description, Bee basically becomes a "leading star" for a brooding Blitzwing, who, as it seems, is not that thrilled by discovery of his partner.
Just as a previous entry to a mentioned event, this picture is dedicated to my fanfic called "TFA: Icarus". Here's a [link] for the series "folder" which also includes an existing teaser (future prologue) for a story if anyone wants to give it a try. Again, can not thank you enough for all the support you've shown for it so far, I will try my best to come up with updates soon enough.
As it usually goes with such works of mine, I will provide the full snippet of one of chapters, which a depicted scene is taken from, under a cut line for anyone wishing to read more about the scene. Hope you'll enjoy it)
To the surprise of many comrades he’d worked with, the Triplechanger proved to be the most patient mech on a team when it came to long lasting missions. Usually he didn’t find it difficult to lay low and wait for orders to come, even if it meant to stay idle for several solar cycles. It was a useful trait of character which Decepticon rightfully prided himself of.
Yet, even a seemingly boundless patience had its limits.
“Can you see anything of use out there?” Blitzwing finally asked his unfortunate “partner in crime”.
A brightly colored mech slipped on the spot upon hearing Con’s voice but managed to regain his balance.
“Not yet, Blitzwing, give me a klik!” A minibot shouted over his shoulder, holding on the steel bar for dear life. “Climbing is not as easy as I’m surely making it look in your optics.”
If Bumblebee planed to cheer up a Warframe with such a comment, he failed miserably, for it only seemed to sour up an already bad mood of a tall mech.
To a Decepticon, it felt like forever since the minibot began his ascend up a steep scarp of a crumbled wall. One would think that, thanks to his light frame, he’d manage to reach the top level in no time. But even this uneven terrain, made of torn sheets of metal and broken cables, proved to be a challenge to an agile Autobot.
The damned energy chain, which linked limbs of both mechs to each other, clearly was the greatest obstacle for Bumblebee, barely giving him a chance to move as far away from a somber mech as possible. Not to mention that a Decepticon was forced to stand on one pede in order to accommodate his companion’s slow conquest of new heights.
Admittedly, a Triplechanger considered an option of tearing the bug’s pede he’s bound to off. But that type of cuffs always latched onto anything in their vicinity (while being activated). Meaning, the chances of getting tied to a nearby wall, as a result of said actions, reached more than 90%.
Tearing his own pede off was not part of a Warframe’s plans.
“If you haven’t noticed it yet, Bumblebee Prime, we don’t have plenty of time left to hide in these tunnels,” A “former” convict grumbled in response while surveying his surroundings for an up-tenth time. He didn’t notice how a Bot winced at the mention of his new title.
Minibot knew he deserved that snide remark. But it did not make him feel better about his recent promotion to an Elite Guard. Or about a decision to become one for that matter. The decision which led to a situation where an Autobot and a Decepticon got lost under an Iacon city.
They had to hide in maintenance tunnels from the times prior to a Great War. Tunnels built by Decepticons for Autobots’ use, and left by them to slowly rot in an utter disrepair after the said War was officially ended. Sealed off since the banishment of Warframes from Cybertron, eventually the structure turned into an urban myth not many of currently living mechs remember or even know about.
An old complex Blitzwing and Bumblbee were currently navigating in was once part of the major supportive structure. Meant to protect veins and tubes once full of energon, that section was made of sturdy materials which stoically passed the test of time.
The Decepticon would’ve lied if he’d said he’s not pleasantly surprised by that discovery.
But it did not bright up his mood by much - they still needed to find a way to the surface level of a planet.
“Foolish of me to expect a scout with no field experience to do a Warframe’s job,” the mech muttered under his breath, words bitter on his glossa. “Perhaps I should have been the one to search for an exit after all”.
Blitzwing had no intent for the last sentence to be heard by his peer, but an aforementioned scout, apparently, had nicely tuned audials.
Figures.
“And to risk exposing your Decepticon signature to raging authorities? No, thanks!” Bumblebee chirped after successfully reaching for a rod sticking out of a long abandoned structure. “It was already enough of me putting everything at risk by making stupid decisions - I don’t want to see you following my lead.”
Somehow the fact that a minibot admitted his mistakes helped to somewhat cool Blitzwing down. He said nothing in return but did glance at him once prior returning to surveying desolated surroundings.
Bumbler’s changed since the promotion to the ranks of an Elite Guard. He seemed to act more mature, even if he’s still naive about most things happening around him. For strangers it’d be an unexpected change of character for such an optimistic and energetic Bot as Bumblebee. But Blitzwing was no random outsider, whether he liked to be on closer terms with a current companion of his or not.
Death of a teammate has effected the minibot on a much deeper level then he’d ever admit to anybody, even to himself. Yet, despite how horrible it might’ve sounded, the Decepticon thought that that was an important lesson every soldier had to live through. And as a mech, who’s witnessed deaths of many of his comrades throughout the Great War, he had to agree that Bumbler was holding up pretty well for someone so inexperienced in mentioned matters.
Even Blitzwing, who did not know Prowl as well as a yellow Bot did, felt the loss of a mech effecting him as well to a certain degree. No matter how secluded and cold the cyber-ninja seemed to be, he always had a special aura around him, the one that made people feel at ease in his presence. Though how he could so freely speak to a Con about importance of life and probability of peace among Cybertronians remained a mystery to him to that solar cycle.
What was that thing black and golden Autobot’s talking about during the last conversation of theirs?
“To have Faith not in Primus, not in The Allspark, but in each other”?
What exactly made him see it being possible back then and, especially, at a current stage of the reignited conflict between factions? Triplechanger had no answer to that question either. He didn’t view how the world should work the same way Prowl did. Could not fully comprehend the intricacies of a philosophy of an Autobot, but, at least, did not lack the courage to make it very clear during a mentioned discussion of theirs.
Blitzwing didn’t have Faith in anyone anymore, and he surely wouldn't in a foreseen future.
For who could remain being supportive of their unhelpful, unwanted partn-… Autobot, while being lost in Allspark forsaken place with no means of escape?
…
“… -es! I see the gap in a wall!.. Blitzwing, I actually see it!”
The joyful voice tore Triplechanger from a deep melancholy state he slipped into while looking down a dark tunnel to his left. He raised his ruby optics, their faint glow barely lighting sharp features of his blue faceplates.
“Right where you’ve predicted it to be,” The Autobot added after turning around in order to face his unfortunate companion, unintentionally giving him quite a peculiar view of his small form.
A true rising sun in the realm of darkness.
...
Blitzwing huffed in mild annoyance at himself and his artistic side of a processor - it was not the right moment for poetic comparisons. Hope and Faith had no place in a situation he was stuck in, only cold calculations. He and Bumbler had to get out of that place, no matter the cost. And the sooner they’d get rid of an energy chain, the better.

Momo:
Momo: I know you’re composing a song right now so are you stuck…?
Yuki: mhm
Yuki: I feel like im turning into an exhaustion stew
Momo: A Yuki stew, now that’s a new one?! I’d love stewed radish on my plate! 😋
Yuki: Then I’ll turn into a radish now. I’ll even add chili peppers free of charge
Momo: lololol
Momo: I only see you like this when you’re tired…are you okay? I can talk to you as much as you want, but is there anything else I could do for you?
Yuki: right now
Momo: Right now?
Yuki: dr
Momo: Dr?
Momo: Huh
Momo: Yukiiiii, are you okay?😭
Yuki: dri
Momo: Are you making me piece your quiz together one letter at a time?!
Momo: Driver?
Yuki:
Momo: You fell asleep…was I wrong…
Yuki: you were right up until the v
Momo: lololol I was close
Momo: Wait, is your word “a drive”?!
Yuki: yeah, somehow i want to go on a drive with you rather than talk through rabbichat
Yuki: it’s about time your magazine shoot wrapped up
Momo: Ahhh!!! Right!!!!! That was the plan but…
Momo: We’re waiting to shoot the last images with the sunset in the background, but there are clouds obstructing it…
Yuki: the clouds are holding momo back….
Momo:
Momo: I’m sorry to keep you waiting, it might be better to call it off for today…
Yuki: i’ll wait for you
Momo: huh
Yuki: i’ll wait for you. I don't think i’ll do anything if i just sit here in front of a computer screen
Momo: Yukiiiiiiii~~~~~~
Yuki: i know

Momo: Haah… and I’m double nervous now because I was staring at a picture I took of you during your idol star costume fitting right before you messaged me 😍💚
Yuki: hehe, you were staring at me?
Yuki: ah, I haven’t filled the idol star survey yet
Momo: It must’ve been tough since you have so much on your plate, especially the composing stuff 😭😭
Yuki: What kind of questions did you get?
Momo: Mostly questions about princely stuff 🤔 “have you ever thought about being a prince?” something like that!
Yuki: never
Momo: Obviously! Yuki is already a handsome prince who takes me out on drives 🤴 ✨
Momo: There were also questions about whether I read adventure books where the prince fights to save the princess, especially as kids!
Yuki: i didn’t. we didn’t have books like that at home
Momo: I bet a dad like that wouldn’t buy those kinda books! 😆
Yuki: i knew such stories existed though. I thought it was weird to voluntarily go through to such lengths just to save a princess.
Yuki: why not leave it to a strong valiant knight. he has a better shot at succeeding anyways
Momo: That’s right!!!! lolol it would be meaningless to go help then get beat up and defeated 🤣
Momo: But the Yuki I know wouldn’t leave it up to some strong knight, he’d rush to the rescue himself
Yuki: You think so?
Momo: For the juniors’ sake, you would greet the producers and tell them to “take care of those children”, then you strike a conversation with them during recordings! You’re so cool and dependable!
Momo: That’s the Yuki I know!
Yuki: thank you, Momo
Yuki: If you were the captured one and not the princess, I would definitely come running.
Yuki: So, if you don’t want to put me in danger, don’t keep secrets from me.
Momo: Yuki…
Momo: I’m sorry to interrupt this very heartfelt moment, but the sun is setting!! I’m gonna dash to wrap this up, so let’s talk about this in person!!!!!!!!!!
Momo: I’ll never do anything that would put you in danger, I promise, and I won't let you do anything reckless!!!!
Yuki: you better keep that promise
Yuki: I might not have a horse carriage or tea that’d suit a princess, but I’ll be waiting for you in my own car with momorin for you.
Momo: You are too good ✨ ‼️
Momo: Yuki, you’re the absolute best prince!
Momo:

Stardust (S.R.)
Summary: Reader lost someone very important to them. Spencer helps them through a particularly dark moment of grief. Request: could you do a fluff comfort fic for reader who just lost her mom & is going through the grieving process?
A/N: I wrote part of this before I suffered a particularly difficult personal loss. Reading it back over gave me a lot of comfort, and I hope it can do the same for you. This is also one of my entries for my Comfort Fic Challenge! Couple: Spencer Reid/GN!Reader Category: Angst/Comfort Content Warning: Mentions death, biblical references Word Count: 900
MASTERLIST
The world is louder than it used to be. It is never more obvious to you than when you stand at the base of plot of land that is meant to make you feel better somehow. The trees in the distance are swaying with bitter wind, and something about the raucous sound makes your chest hurt.
It sounds like laughter, you think. Laughter, but worse.
As the day stretches on, there is little comfort to be found. The sun that kept you warm begins to fade away, and you realize that it is part of the human condition to only appreciate something after it’s gone.
You stay there, anyway. You sit in the discomfort like waiting will somehow make it better.
Eventually, he finds you.
Spencer Reid’s footsteps are hesitant and gentle, but they are loud. He can tell the sound is unwelcome, so he says nothing. Instead, he takes your hand and sits with you in the deafening silence.
It isn’t until the stars come out that he speaks.
“I might not be particularly religious,” he starts, and you can’t help but scoff.
From the corner of crying eyes, you see him flash a saturnine smile. He pauses, questions whether he should continue.
He does.
“… but there is a line from Ecclesiastes that I've always liked.”
He continues. Speaking quietly yet he is still heard over the sad laughter of the trees.
“‘All are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.’”
You haven’t said a word, but you feel your lungs begging for breath. Your throat closes around the lump his words have created inside of you. You are choking as you bring your joined hands to your face. You press the back of his hand against tear-stained cheeks. He catches each tear without worry about the weight.
“It’s alright to be sad,” he assures you. “In fact, I think it’s the most human thing we can do.”
You are so close to breaking. This time the noise is coming from inside you. You can hear worn muscle thumping against aching bones.
You are human. You are alive. You are loud, too loud to hear the silence they left behind.
Spencer feels you slipping, but he doesn’t let go. You don’t let go either. Instead, you hold his hand even harder than before. Implicitly, you beg him to fill the silence, to distract you from the beat of a broken heart.
“I personally choose to believe that there is something special in the stars,” he answers. “I like to think that energy is never completely lost. It’s just transformed into something… different.”
You want to say thank you, but when you open your mouth, your lip quivers too hard to make words. A stray sob breaks free and you let go of his hand.
Spencer doesn’t leave you, though. As you cover your face with your hands, he wraps his arms around you.
You mouth the words ‘Thank you’ against his chest. You are grateful he doesn’t ask you what you’re thanking him for because you don’t know the answer.
Thank you for being there, for being warm, for providing the sound of a heart that is still alive.
“It’s okay,” he whispers, “I’m here.”
After a moment of quiet, not silence, your hearts slow and become steady. In that moment of warmth, you manage to smile.
He feels it. He feels the life returning to you after a moment of grief. That overwhelming feeling ebbs with each breath.
The next time you exhale, he asks, “You know what else I like?”
It’s the first time you’ve spoken since he got there, and all you can manage is to mutter, “What?”
“You.”
You laugh. As your chest starts to fill, the extra breath turns to tears and chuckles. You sniffle as you squeeze fistfuls of his shirt.
Before the laughter can get too far away, he continues.
“I am so grateful that out of the whole cosmos, my dust found your dust.”
You believe him.
“Me too,” you say.
You think the same about the person whose dust has settled. You think back to the earliest memories instead of the last. You try to picture their smile made out of stars.
You open your eyes and turn your head for a better view. In the distance, millions of loved ones look down on you. The past shimmers against the backdrop of what we once thought to be a void.
It is not empty. It is fuller than it’s ever been.
“It’s not goodbye forever,” he says. “Just until the stars call us home again.”
You are not empty. That love that you had given is reflected with the warmth of each small sun. Their twinkling lights look like something lighter than laughter.
Perhaps the world hasn’t gotten louder, you think. Perhaps you were just listening for the wrong sounds.
Thump, thump, thump, sounds Spencer’s heart. You wish it could be louder, you wish it could fill every atom of your being so you can remember that you are not yet alone.
You won’t ever be alone as long as there are stars in the sky.
“Until then, you are here, and I am here,” he reminds you.
He is happy to see you smile, but he still looks away to guide you back to the millions of souls shining back down.
“And we have a whole universe looking down on us.”
You smile at the stars.
The stars smile back.
Thank you for reading.

Sun/Moon FNAF Fanfic Recommendation List
Fic list:
This is a list of DCA x reader fics. The maturity rating of each fic varies but none here are currently explicit. Look at the tags and read at your own discretion.
(Disclaimer: This is subject to change. If a fic on here turns explicit and I haven’t caught it yet then just message me the title and chapter that it happens and I will move it to the spicy list. Thank you.)
(This will be updated in bulk as I find good fics. An update log can be found and followed under the “Violetstormm fic list updates” tag)
Most of these will be romance oriented but a few are platonic or familial. Okay onward to the fics types. A fic may fit into several categories and so will have the respective symbol of any additional that applies. You can click the title for a specific fic type or read more for the complete list:
+Pizzaplex Fics: You work at the pizzaplex in some way or another. You could be a daycare handler, janitor, mechanic, ect.
-Scrap Fics: Sun and Moon have been scraped for one reason or another or have just escaped the burning plex. You find and possibly help them.
~Mer Fics: We got mermaids, sirens, leviathans, seamonsters and selkies. Are you the fish? Are they the fish? Doesn’t matter it goes on this list.
*Fantasy Fics: General fantasy, could be literally anything. Are you a vampire stuck traveling with some handsome vampire hunters? A princess who has befriended the jesters? How about a monsterhunter with a totally not a monster companion? This and more belong here.
`Misc list: DCA stories that don’t fit into any of the other categories.
+Pizzaplex Fics:
Twin Animatronics With Too Much Time on Their Hands by aug325 and CephalonGhost
archiveofourown.org/works/37318843/chapters/93118390
Takes place after the three-star princess quest ending where Sun and Moon are the only intact animatronic left.
Fazbear Entertainment decides to capitalize on that and try to make money off the daycare again by making the dual animatronic into two. Clearly no problems arise from this because robots can’t suffer mental or emotional trauma, right?
you move to dayshift but aren't paid any more, go figure by tuzesdays
archiveofourown.org/works/38834994/chapters/97110504
You never, never wanted to be on dayshift. All those children running around, being loud and messy and eugh... but that's what corporate scheduled you for, and they're the ones that write your checks, so. You weren't expecting to get along with the daycare attendant, but that doesn't mean you want to stay on dayshift just to hang out with them.
Too bad you can't back out now.
(In Their) Astral Orbit by Rinzydings
archiveofourown.org/works/46904530/chapters/118150936
The dreaded fire has come and burned the Pizzaplex to the ground. Waking up in a panic, Lyell races to the scene and braves the destruction in order to find the DCA. Recovering the weakened animatronic, they take the Daycare Attendant home and do everything they can to clean and get them repaired. The bond between human and robot deepens, and Lyell briefly questions where to possibly go from here.

Being a robotic repair rat who lives in the walls of the pizza-plex is a pretty great gig, all things considered! You fix the wires instead of chew them, and you get into tight spaces those silly humans can't reach and fix things up behind the scenes. You do your little tasks diligently, and all is well. That is, until one night when you realize all of your other repair rat friends have gone missing, and almost all of those animatronics outside the walls are acting strange... You aren't sure what it is that needs fixing, but by golly you'll fix it! You just might need a little help along the way...

Summary:
You weren't a technician, you weren't a security guard, you weren't a daycare assistant. You're just an employee. Staff. The ‘jack-of-all-trades’ employee with mediocre at best skills and specialty in none, tasked with doing miscellaneous jobs that robots couldn't do and human staff couldn't care to. The job is unpredictable, but it pays good and it's relatively easy.
Except for the part where all the animatronics are more sentient than you thought, and you're roped into a mystery surrounding the Daycare Attendants, who are bit too curious about you for your liking.
You don't think this was in your employee contact.

You had been working a retail job longer than some of your peers had been alive, and you had seen it all. At one point or another, you had come face to face with the worst customer service interactions imaginable–from Karens with years-old expired coupons to teens who paid in pennies to armed robbery to Black Friday sales–and you had made the choice to come out the other side still smiling.
By comparison, working at Fazbear's was a breeze. $30 an hour PLUS insurance PLUS long AND short term benefits? If you hadn't read the terms and conditions carefully, you'd think you might have signed your soul away when you started working there, it seemed almost too good to be true.
Apparantly, there was a history surrounding the company that had made other prospective employees hesitant to apply, but you had done worse jobs for less, and the fact that your animatronic co-workers were a little "quirky" was honestly a bonus

The Fazbear corporation has always been surrounded by dark rumors, so was every other heavy hitter in the entertainment industry. Conspiracy theories and creepypastas abound. But when you took a job working as a repair technician, it slowly becomes more and more clear as to why you're the only one anymore. Everyone knew about the great fire that took out the most successful business in the area. Now it's an abandoned, charred building with fencing all around it and signs to boot. Nobody ever bothers it. They leave it alone like it's some kind of monument, or a haunted place too scary for others to enter.
For you though— it's one of the best places to get materials from. After all, they made THE best animatronics around (or so you were told). Robots that almost seemed human were a far cry in your mind, but whatever they were made of couldn't be beaten in your opinion.
So, when you find an endoskeleton of one of their supposedly famous robots, you just HAD to take it back. If you couldn't fix it, you could always sell it for scraps.

Time passes. You hear stories of monsters, Sirens in the water, one that is a good omen if spotted, promising your safe voyage as long as you respect the rules of the ocean, and one that sinks ships and eats people for fun. Just folktales meant to scare children.
A decade later, they return the favor, though they don't plan on leaving you so easily this time.

But no more. Kept in increasingly small tanks, barely fed, and unable to swim, I started to weaken.
Eventually, I was dumped here. It was some kind of oddities collection. My owner had other humans pay to look at his strange assortment of items he had gathered from around the world.

You boarded the Aurora to go on a vacation, but oh well, you're stranded. Might as well start exploring, scuba diving sounds good, does it not? Just when you thought you could drop all the stuff you learned in school. What are the odds?
Of course, the locals have their own thing to say about the new alien on their turf. It's almost hilarious how hostile they are.

You didn't MEAN to pull up a merchild from the sea. It just bit the bait meant for the fishes, that's all! But now here you are, playing and singing songs with the little tyke after they followed you home to the shore. Even the other one followed, though only after knocking you off your boat the first time. You’re pretty sure they were brothers or something since they stick reeeaal close to each other.
Cripes, these kids were cute. They seemed to adore you too, despite the second one being really cold in the beginning. That's okay though, it was fine. You loved them, you really did! But even so, you couldn’t help but worry about their parents. Fully grown sirens get SUPER protective of their children, but you’ve yet to see neither tail nor fin of mom and dad. Where were these kids’ parents? You weren’t stupid, they HAD to be nearby. No one had ever heard of a mer who just up and left their children alone like this, so where the heck were these kids’ guardians??
It's only when four arms cage you in and threaten to capsize your tiny boat that you realize, maybe you shouldn't have asked.

They watch over what is left of the vast forests they once protected. They know that one day they will waste away, unable even to hold on to each other.
Now here you are. Things haven't gone exactly the way you'd hoped but you've got another field position and it's looking up from there. Now if you can manage to keep catching bumble bees, not eat anything poisonous, and make the mortgage, you'll be fine.
Curious that you always catch more bees than anyone else on the study. Curious that you never get ticks, or chiggers, your bag never rips open, you've never been stung, never fallen in the woodland brush. You think you're just lucky for a while. Then you step on that hornet nest. Well. You'd always had a thing for local cryptid lore.

There are many times where one's blood related family might not care for them in the way you know they should. There are times in which your blood related family forget about you once you've grown old and frail. And there are times in which you are separated from the only family you have. However, all of these people have one thing in common, and that's a need for friendship, companionship, and someone to tell them "I love you" in a way that truly matters.
This Fic will also not contain any romance, especially not between the boys and you. Oh, and this shifts between the view of grandparent!reader and child!reader. Additionally, they are different people, I just did both since I couldn't choose just one to write about.

A Snack by the Lake
Summary: MC surprises Sebastian with a special snack during their picnic
Paring: Sebastian x f!MC
Warnings: 18+, Pure smut, only a touch of plot
Word count: 700
A/N: @pugsnotdrugs92 Tis done! Hope you love it as much as I do!
-------------------------
MC sat with her back up against a large tree, staring out over the Black Lake, the sun shining through the leaves blowing in the breeze above her.
She heard a shout of her name and, looking up, she saw her boyfriend, Sebastian Sallow, running towards her. He reached her, flopping down next to her, his chest heaving, his face red from exertion.
“How are you this out of breath, Sebastian?”
He laughed, looking her over. “Don’t judge me, Princess. You know I spend all my time reading instead of exercising.” He raised an eyebrow as he raked his eyes over her once again, making sure she noticed. “Well not all of my time.” He gave her a wink, laying his head on her thigh.
“Sorry I’m late for our picnic, love. Did you bring snacks? I’m starving”
Now it was her turn to drag eyes over his form, a mischievous smirk on her face.
“Of a sort.” She moved the leg he wasn’t lying on further from the other, exposing herself to him.
He sucked in a shallow breath, eyes sparking. “Oh, I see I’m not the only one with a certain something on their mind today.”
He sat up, quickly moving to lay on his stomach between her legs. Throwing one of her legs over his shoulder, he took a deep breath, her sent flooding his nostrils. He couldn’t help but moan, she was already so wet, a damp spot gracing the front of her panties. Dipping his head he brought his lips down to it, kissing softly.
Above him MC moaned, then giggled as Sebastian pulled her closer to him, her back dragging against the rough bark of the tree. He wrapped both arms around her legs, bringing her closer and trapping her there all at once. MC started to grind herself against his lips, making him chuckle.
“Baby, I haven’t even gotten your panties out of the way yet, calm down.”
All she could do was whimper, her need for him growing stronger with every passing second. He chuckled once again, finally pulling the fabric out of his way.
“You want me so badly, don’t you baby? Good.” His breath hit her folds, sending a shiver through her before he ran his tongue over her slit, sucking at her clit. MC moaned loudly, hands coming up to tangle in his brown hair. The wet sounds her pussy made as he ate her filled the quiet air around them, joining with their moans, a symphony of pleasure.
Out of breath, Sebastian pulled away, looking up at her. “This is a much better reason to be out of breath. Fuck, you taste so good.” He turned his head to press kisses to her soft thighs before returning to his meal.
Her hands tugged at his soft locks, earning her multiple deep moans. His moans reverberated through her, increasing her pleasure and she giggled. He brought a hand to her clit and rubbed it in slow lazy circles, his face pressed even harder against her as his tongue slipped into her. Her moans turned into high pitched whimpers as her orgasm grew closer. Knowing exactly the reaction it would cause, Sebastian let out another deep moan, smiling as her walls twitched around his tongue. He probed his tongue into her as far as he could, her thighs beginning to tighten around his head, her hands keeping him in place. He saw stars as his oxygen supply was cut off, happily lapping up her juices as they ran over his tongue. If he died between her thighs, he would die a happy man.
As her orgasm subsided she loosened her grip on him, but he didn’t pull away, sucking at her swollen lips, determined to get every last drop of her cum. When the pressure was too much, she pulled hard on his hair, and he finally gave in, bringing his wet face to hers, kissing her passionately, smearing her own juices all over her.
“Mmmmm, MC that was delicious. But surely you must be hungry as well. I think I can help with that.” He gave her a wink as he settled against the tree next to her, an expectant look on his face.

Ephemeral Emancipation
This takes place one year after the events of Wind God. I had planned to write about what happens a month later and then six months later, but I'm currently out of ideas for those parts.
I'm not sure if sharing this was a good idea, considering that there are two more parts that come before it that I haven't written yet. This might confuse the readers. However, I really enjoyed writing it since I have an inclination towards violent scenes, and since I won't be writing anything very soon, I decided to post it anyway.
Warnings: decapitation, slashes being inflicted on a person
Word count: 5.246
''I would like to leave this place.''
Venti almost choked on the apple he was munching on. "Huh?"
You shifted from one foot to another as you nervously fiddled with the bottom hem of your shorts and repeated yourself, "I want to go out."
He set the half-eaten apple down on the table and leaned back in his chair, studying your face. The wind stirred his dark locks as he pondered your words. "You know I can't let you leave, right?"
You sighed, knowing this conversation won’t be an easy one. "I know, but I just... I miss the outside world so much. The endless blue skies, the warmth of the sun on my skin, the sound of birds chirping, and the fresh air."
Venti raised an eyebrow and asked, "How is the air outside any different from the air in here?"
You took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to express how you felt. "It's not just about the air; it's about freedom, you know, the thing that you're supposed to represent." You crossed your arms over your chest. "It's about living, rather than just existing."
He brought his fingers up to his chin, contemplating your words. ''I tried my best to make you feel happy in here,'' he said. ''Wasn't that enough?''
As you thought back on the various moments you two had spent together, memories flooded your mind, including the times you had danced under the stars or sat on the swing while he tried to teach you how to play the lyre.
"You don't get it," you said, stepping forward and looking into his eyes. "Maybe this may be enough for you since you don't have the same perception of time as I do—being immortal and all that—but for me, it feels like I'm stuck in a never-ending loop."
You knew that discussing this topic with Venti required a different approach if you wanted to get through to him.
Your thoughts returned to the countless hours you'd spent poring over the books in Lisa's library; pages of Old Mondstadt unfurled like scrolls in front of your eyes, as if presenting you with a plan.
''You know, I've been curious about your past,'' you began, trying to pique Venti's interest. ''I've read stories about Old Mondstadt, but I always wondered what the experience of the people that lived there was like.''
That was true. Being from Mondstadt, you were curious about your city's history and how it evolved over time, but you never knew that the way you would get to briefly experience it was thanks to the situation you found yourself in about a year ago.
Venti's eyes narrowed slightly, the wind rustling his viridian attire. "How come you're suddenly interested in that? You could have asked me about my past a long time ago."
''But a long time ago you wouldn't have let me out!''
''What makes you think I would now?''
You crossed your arms behind your back and looked to the side. "Because I behaved well and followed your rules. I've proven that I can be trusted, didn't I?" you looked back at him. "I thought maybe you could walk me around while you explain its history to me. It would be a nice chance for me to learn more about you and experience the real world once again at the same time."
He sat up straight in his chair, considering your request. "Well, I suppose that could be arranged," he responded. "But only if you promise not to do anything stupid like last time. I'll be keeping a close eye on you."
You nodded eagerly.
He approached you and grabbed you by the waist, pulling you closer to him as a golden mist enveloped you both. You now found yourself standing on a cobblestone path surrounded by stone arches. You inhaled deeply, taking in the crisp, fresh air.
''Is the air different?'' he laughed.
''It's fresher,'' you said simply.
''Oh, come on.''
You looked around. "Well then, tell me something about this place. Since you've been here during its downfall centuries ago, I expect a tour in great detail."
He crossed his arms and looked down at the cobblestones beneath his feet, then at you. "This area was ruled by Decarabian, the God of Storms, who thought he protected the city and its people from the harsh winds that would sweep through," he began. "Back then, the entire Mondstadt region was known for being covered in snow and ice, which made it a difficult place to live in. Decarabian used his powers to form a wind barrier around Old Mondstadt, shielding it from the elements and creating what he thought was a haven for its inhabitants.'' He paused for a moment. ''However, as time passed, people began to realize that they were living in a false sense of security. The wind barrier became a prison, trapping them within its walls and preventing any contact with anything that was on the other side of it," he continued as you both walked along the path.
You hopped onto a fallen pillar, trying to balance yourself. "Reminds me of a certain someone."
Venti chuckled and looked up at you. "Unlike Decarabian, I don't create barriers to, quote on quote, protect people."
"But you decided to kidnap a person and strip them of freedom," you interjected, raising an eyebrow at him.
He sighed, "Do you want to listen to what I have to say or should we go back?"
"Fine, fine," you said, hopping off the pillar and gesturing for him to continue.
-
As you continued walking through the ancient streets of Old Mondstadt, Venti pointed out various landmarks and shared stories of the city's past. He also mentioned the grand tower that is still standing at the heart of the city, where Decarabian would reside.
You listened intently as he spoke, genuinely captivated by the tales of old.
He explained that after centuries of ruling, Decarabian’s people began to question his authority and the validity of his so-called protection. They desired freedom and the ability to explore beyond the confines of the city. Their discontent eventually grew into a rebellion led by a group of individuals who sought to end his reign and free the city from his control—Venti among them.
''Everyone fought against his oppressive rule, even his partner. The rebellion was successful, and Decarabian was overthrown, giving the people of Old Mondstadt the freedom they had longed for,'' he spoke.
"He had a partner?" You raised your eyebrows in surprise. "Did he kidnap her too?"
''...No, and yes, Decarabian had a partner—a mortal who had been by his side through his reign—and who then saw the injustice he had inflicted upon their people. She couldn't bear to stand by his side any longer, and so she joined the rebellion.''
You drew circles on the dirt with your foot, pondering Venti's words, "And how did you become the Anemo Archon?"
''The individuals who led the rebellion were his partner, Amos, a young boy, and me." Venti's gaze turned sorrowful. ''They both perished, leaving me and Andrius—who also fought against Decarabian and who is now one of the Four Winds—as candidates for the position of the new Anemo Archon,'' he paused. ''Andrius was chosen, but he declined the offer, feeling that he was not suited for such a role. He believed that he was unworthy of this position due to his perceived lack of love for humanity that an Archon ought to have, and so the responsibility fell upon me. I accepted the role, not because I believed myself to be the most qualified,'' he said, lifting up a finger. ''But because I believed in freedom and the goodness of humanity, and once I became the Anemo Archon, I vowed to never repeat Decarabian's mistakes and to protect my people. I reshaped the terrain and changed Mondstadt's climate to its current state and then moved everyone to what is now the current City of Freedom,'' he concluded.
You exhaled heavily as the weight of Venti's words settled in your chest. ''What a journey that must have been.''
"What a journey indeed," he replied, a hint of weariness in his eyes. "I'm glad you didn't get to experience such an event."
Both of you came to a halt, taking in the view of the abandoned city.
''You said you took the form of a human, what did you look like before?''
''Ah, before I took the form of a human, I was just a tiny being who lived in the wind. I had no physical form but rather existed as a manifestation of the wind itself,'' he explained with a smile.
"So now you're, what, human-shaped air?" you asked, trying to wrap your head around the concept.
Venti laughed at your question. "That's an interesting way of describing it! I suppose you could say that.''
You simply nodded and resumed your walking.
You spotted a small opening in the rockface—a split in the wall just wide enough to squeeze through it—from which you could see the light shining out. A flicker of doubt crossed your mind, but you needed to take the chance, so you grabbed his hand and started walking towards it, leaving him no time for reaction.
"I don't think we should go there," he voiced, but you kept dragging him.
"It's alright; I promised I wouldn't do anything stupid, didn't I?"
"Is this your idea of not stupid?"
‘’Just for a while, there’s nothing wrong with that. Besides, you're still keeping an eye on me.’’
As you made your way through the narrow opening, the sharp edges scraped against your skin, causing slight discomfort. Venti followed closely behind, his grip on your hand tight.
Finally, you emerged from the darkness and onto a long and wide road amidst tall boulders. The sky overhead was clear blue with puffy white clouds, and the sound of wind around you was but a low hum. The birds soared over the trees and chirped out a song, unlike the melancholic silence of the abandoned city you had just left behind.
You let go of his hand and walked ahead, taking in the beauty of the surroundings. The vibrant swaying grass danced in harmony with the gentle breeze, and although it was pretty similar to what you had in the Serenitea Pot, it somehow felt different.
"Hold on, you're walking too fast!" Venti called out and hurried to catch up to you.
You didn't listen to him; instead, you kept powering forward until you were met with a small beach overlooking a lake that shimmered under the golden rays of the sun. The water stretched out before you like a sparkling mirror, reflecting the hues of the sky and creating a captivating scene.
A gust of wind gently pushed you back onto Venti's chest, causing you to stumble slightly. He grabbed your chin and lifted it up to make you look at him. "I told you not to run off like that."
"Couldn't help it," you shrugged. "What did you expect? I haven't been here in so long."
His hand squeezed your cheeks. "I get it, but please try to stay by my side."
You huffed in annoyance, letting out a loud and long sigh. "Right, I'm supposed to behave, I totally forgot about that."
"Y/N, I'm serious." He was afraid that the two of you would run into someone familiar and that you would take that as an opportunity to run away, so he tried to be cautious.
You wiggled free from his grasp and made your way towards the lake, taking a few steps closer to the water's edge. "You know I most likely won't get to experience being here again, right? You've been very adamant about keeping me confined in that realm, let me at least enjoy this."
He joined you by the shore. "I didn't say you couldn't enjoy this. I just wanted to make sure you were safe."
You snorted, "Safe from who? I don't see anybody else around here other than you."
Looking around, you noticed a wooden boat tethered to a nearby rock and ran up to it, excitedly tugging on the rope to set it free. Venti trailed close behind, a worried expression on his face. "What are you doing?"
You threw the rope to the side and turned to face him. "I want to go on a boat ride, we don't have that luxury in the realm. We won't go far, just a short trip around the lake. Does that sound good, or are you going to baby me again?"
You both then pushed the boat into the water. He reached out to take your hand in his, helping you lift one leg over the side of the boat and then the other. As you settled into the boat, you saw Venti take his place beside you, a small smile playing on his lips.
The boat gently rocked as it sailed across the still surface of the lake, and the sound of the water lapping against the hull gave you a sense of peace that you hadn't felt in a long time.
You felt a sense of liberation wash over you as the boat moved further away from the shore. The wind tossed through your hair, and the warm sun kissed your skin. You closed your eyes and let out a contented sigh, savoring every moment of this brief taste of freedom.
You leaned over the side of the boat and ran your fingers through the cold water. The fish swam lazily beneath the surface, their scales glistening in the sunlight and creating a vibrant display of colors.
Venti watched you with admiration in his eyes. He understood the significance of this moment for you, and despite his reservations, he was captivated by your joy and the way it lit up your face.
The boat continued to drift along the lake, taking you deeper into its embrace. The surrounding landscape was a picturesque panorama of meadows adorned with wildflowers and half-cut mountains in the distance.
Taking a glance at Venti, you saw him look in another direction with a mix of emotions on his face, one of which was predominantly sadness. He wished he could give you more of these moments where you could truly be free, but he also didn't want to risk losing you.
You dipped your hand into the water again and splashed a handful of droplets onto Venti's face, breaking him out of his pensive state.
"Oh, so that's how it's going to be, huh?" he teased, wiping the water off his face with his sleeve.
"Well, I couldn't resist," you replied, splashing some more water in his direction.
"If you're going to play dirty, then I guess I'll have to retaliate," he said, reaching over to splash water back at you.
The boat rocked with your antics, as you two engaged in a water fight, and the tension and sadness that had been lingering in the air vanished, replaced by pure joy and laughter.
You both eventually calmed down, catching your breath and letting the laughter subside. The boat continued its journey across the lake until it arrived on the other side of the shore. You two stepped off drenched but with smiles on your faces.
As you walked on the sand, you talked about everything and nothing at the same time. The conversation flowed effortlessly, as if the water had washed away all the barriers that had been holding you back. While you were talking, you saw a Sunsettia tree a few steps away, its vivid orange fruits hanging from the branches like jewelry. You walked towards it, plucked two of them, and handed one to Venti.
"Here," you said, offering him the Sunsettia fruit.
He took it with a grateful smile. "Thank you. This has been fun, I'm glad I agreed to bring you here."
You smiled back at him. Perhaps thanks to this little adventure, he will let you out more often.
You leaned back against the tree trunk. The soothing rustle of the leaves above provided a calming soundtrack to your conversation.
As the sun began its descent, casting a warm golden glow across the landscape, you felt a gloved hand cover your mouth and push you onto the ground. Looking up, you saw a person wearing a coat and whose face was covered by a mask. You struggled against their grip, but their strength overpowered yours. Panic welled up inside you, and you desperately searched for Venti, only to see that he was apprehended by another masked figure.
The clapping of hands and a voice that sounded like a snake, hissing and ready to strike at any moment, resonated across the air from behind him. ''Well, well, well, what do we have here? A little romantic date interrupted by some unwanted guests?''
You both were lifted from the ground and forced to sit on your knees, hands bound behind your backs. The playful atmosphere had vanished, replaced by a tense and dangerous situation.
Your heart thumped in your chest, and your throat tightened with fear as you looked over your shoulder to see four people standing behind you. You exchanged a quick glance at Venti, who silently tried to reassure you that you would find a way out of this together.
As the voice taunted and threatened, you turned to see a blonde woman in a revealing dress, a cloak draped over her shoulders, and some kind of crown perched on her head.
She approached Venti from behind and grabbed him by the hair, forcing his head back. "You thought you could avoid me, bard?" she sneered, her voice dripping with venom. "No more slipping away, you little rat."
Venti let out a laugh. "What more, O highness, dost thou crave from me? Yet more songs, perchance, to set your spirit free?" he joked.
The woman's grip tightened on Venti's hair, her nails digging into his scalp. "Quit it with the rhymes," she hissed, and her eyes were like flames, scorching everything they touched. "I assure you; this is far from a laughing matter. I already took your Gnosis; maybe I can take something more from you." She let go of his hair and turned to face you.
It looked like Venti had encountered this woman before, and she had some deep-seated vendetta against him.
The masked man who was holding you in place pulled out a dagger and pressed it against your throat, causing you to take a sharp intake of breath. The cold metal glinted ominously in the dying light of the sun, casting a shadow across your face.
Venti shifted uneasily in front of you, his eyes locked on the dagger that threatened your life. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
''Isn't this the mortal you hold so dear? The one you spent countless days serenading with your songs and that you now hold behind lock and key? How selfish of a God of Freedom,'' the woman mocked, ''I must say, I've never seen such devotion from a God before. It's truly touching,'' she gestured towards the person behind you. "But you're no better than your predecessor.''
Venti's body tightened at the sight of the dagger pressing deeper against your skin. He clenched his fists and said, ''I fucking swear, if you do something to her, you will regret it. I spared you many times before, but my patience is wearing thin. I won't hesitate to kill you and your stupid fatui puppets." His voice trembled with a mix of anger and desperation.
The woman laughed coldly, her eyes narrowing with amusement. "Oh, how bold of you to threaten me, Barbatos. But I think you underestimate the lengths I'm willing to go to get what I want."
As he locked eyes with the woman, his demeanor darkened and his speech took on a more serious tone. "Did you forget who you're dealing with, Rosalyne?"
Her eyes widened at the mention of her name, and she slapped him, the sound echoing throughout the tense atmosphere. Venti's head snapped to the side, but he didn't flinch; his defiance only seemed to fuel her anger.
''Is this how you always greet people? By slapping their faces?'' he laughed sarcastically. "You should be more careful with your actions and words, they leave traces.''
She leaned closer to him. "You don't get to mock me, Barbatos. You see, I would like to know what you would do if I were to end your mortal's life right in front of you. Would you still have the audacity to talk to me like that?''
The fatui behind you retracted the blade from your throat only to twist it around his hand and try to stab you, but you never felt it pierce your skin.
At that, a powerful surge of wind swept through the air, and you heard heavy weights fall to the ground. You looked up to your sides just to see a gruesome scene; the heads of the fatui rolling across the ground and leaving a trail of blood in their wake, their lifeless eyes staring back at you. In horror, you quickly closed your eyes and tried to fight the nauseous feeling in your stomach.
Venti stood tall in the midst of the chaos, as the wind whipped around him, carrying the scent of blood.
''I warned you, didn't I? I warned what would happen if you dared to harm her.'' He spoke with a chilling conviction that sent shivers down your spine.
Rosalyne took a few steps back and attempted to channel her elemental powers through her catalyst in a desperate attempt to regain control of the situation. Venti raised his hand, and a whirlwind formed around him before she could utter a single incantation. The wind blew her off her feet, causing her to collide with a nearby wall. As she collided with the hard surface, she let out a strangled cry of pain, and her body crumbled to the ground.
He stood over her, ''I don't think you're familiar with the expression fuck around and find out, are you?''
She attempted to stand, but her body trembled from pain. "I'm from Mondstadt, you wouldn't harm someone from your nation,'' she panted. "Try to kill me, and I'll make sure your precious little—''
Slashes began to appear on her body as if carved by an unseen force, causing her to scream in agony. Venti's wind continued to slice through her with precision, each cut calculated, inflicting pain but avoiding any fatal blows.
As the wind howled around them and the air was thick with tension, carrying the echoes of Rosalyne's screams, his eyes bore into her writhing form. His once playful and carefree demeanor had morphed into something dark and unyielding.
With one last slash, his wind finally ceased, leaving her broken and bloodied on the ground. Her body twitched and convulsed with each ragged breath she took. "Do me a favor and die here, Rosalyne," he said with a frosty tone, his words lacking any warmth or emotion.
As you stared in disbelief, he turned around and began walking towards you. His steps were heavy, each one echoing in the silence until he came to a halt in front of you. His eyes, now devoid of their usual gleam, were hauntingly intense. He knelt down and gently stroked some of your blood-stained hair; it was gentle, contrasting with the brutality he had displayed moments before.
''We're going home,'' he said, and grabbed you by the wrist to pull you up from the ground. The golden mist from before swirled around you both once more, taking you back to the realm.
You now stood at the entryway of the house. Your heart still pounded from the horrifying events that happened during the evening.
Venti looked you up and down. "Take your clothes off and go bathe. There's blood on you,'' he commanded.
You didn't move, your voice shaky as you spoke, "What did you do?"
His eyes met yours. "What did you want me to do?"
''You murdered those people!''
"Would you have rather died?" he yelled. "I protected you!"
''Yes! ...no, I don't know! You're not supposed to protect me by killing other people!'' You managed to say through labored breaths, ''There must have been another way to handle the situation, we could have found a peaceful resolution, or we could have tried to escape...''
As he listened to your words, his gaze hardened, and his jaw clenched tightly. ''Peaceful resolution? With someone like her?''
"I don't know what you did to her to make her hate you so much, but resorting to violence is not an answer!"
''Enough!'' he snapped, ''You will not be leaving again.''
"Venti," his name escaped your lips.
He shivered. This was the first time you pronounced his name since he brought you here. He wanted you to call his name for so long, but not like this.
You lowered your voice, making it gentle and soothing to try and reach him in his hardened state. "Was a single life above those people?"
''Your life is above those people. You don't realize just how important you're to me, Y/N." He tried to come closer to you, but you stepped back.
You didn't want to continue this conversation anymore. It was futile to reason with him.
-
This whole situation was giving you a horrible night. Every time you were close to falling asleep, you'd toss and turn in bed, replaying the events of the evening in your mind. The images of heads rolling on the floor and that woman's horrifying scream as Venti slashed through her kept flashing before your eyes.
You tensed up as you heard the door creak open, your heart racing once more. You watched Venti stumble into your room as he clumsily made his way over to you. He sat on the bed and leaned in close, his lips almost brushing yours and his breath heavy with the scent of dandelion wine.
You backed down, causing him to fall on you and rest his cheek on your collarbone as he sighed heavily. You nudged him to sit up straight, but he groaned and buried his face deeper into your collarbone, both arms tightly wrapped around you, refusing to let go.
"Y/N..." he murmured, his voice muffled against your skin. His shirt was rumpled and unbuttoned, exposing a teal tattoo on his chest. This was the first time you saw his bare skin in such an intimate way and you couldn't help but trace your fingers over the design, admiring the details and the way it seemed to glow under your touch.
While you lay there, fascinated by the intricate tattoo, you felt Venti slowly lift his head from your collarbone and leave a trail of soft kisses down your neck. The feeling of his lips against your skin sent shivers down your spine, and a rush of warmth flooded your cheeks.
"Hey," you said, placing your fisted hand on his chest and lightly pushing him away. "You should go to bed. You're drunk."
Venti looked up at you, his usually vibrant eyes now hazy and clouded with the effects of alcohol. He let out a small chuckle. "I'm in bed."
''Not in yours...''
He hugged you tighter, ''What does it matter?''
You sighed, trying to come up with an excuse, ''It matters because this bed is not big enough for the both of us.'' That was a lie; the bed was large enough for two people, but you felt uneasy about this situation and wanted to create some distance between yourself and Venti.
He resumed giving you neck kisses as one of his hands made its way underneath your shirt, caressing your bare back. ''I love you, haah... I love you a lot,'' he breathed out. ''Give in to me already.''
"Venti, this is getting out of control." You tried to push him away harder, but his other arm wrapped around your waist and held you firmly in place. "You need to get back to your room."
You attempted to wriggle out of his grasp, but his strength was surprisingly strong for someone who seemed to be so intoxicated. The two of you lay there in a tangled mess of limbs.
You took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. You couldn't help but think about the complicated relationship you shared with him. He kidnapped you and forced you to stay by his side, yet he never treated you badly; in fact, he had shown you nothing but kindness and affection.
A soft snore escaped his lips, and you turned your head to see him knocked out. You scanned his features, taking in the relaxed expression on his face and the way his chest rose and fell with each breath.
-
You woke up the next morning to soft rays of sunshine filtering through the curtains. As you stretched and yawned, you realized that you were no longer tangled with Venti. You turned your head and saw him still peacefully asleep beside you; his messy hair was spread across the pillow, and he was now covered in a blanket, hiding the teal tattoo that had captivated you the night before. You carefully removed your side of the blanket and tried to slip out of bed, but as you did, Venti stirred and his eyes fluttered open. He groaned and rubbed them, looking at you with confusion.
"What am I doing here?" he mumbled, his voice rough and low.
"You came home drunk last night and made your way into my bed," you replied, trying to hide the lingering warmth on your cheeks.
As he propped himself up on his elbows, his expression changed from confusion to realization. He took in the familiar surroundings of your bedroom as he looked around. He then glanced down and saw that his shirt was still on, albeit slightly wrinkled and unbuttoned halfway, causing it to fall loosely off his shoulders.
''Nothing happened,'' you quickly added, hoping he wouldn't misinterpret the situation.
He watched you walk up to the dresser, grab a brush, and run it through your hair while you tried not to look at him. He leaned back against the pillow, one arm behind his head as his hand absentmindedly ran through his messy hair.
''Venti,'' you turned to him, ''The state you were in last night was because of—''
''The fatui,'' he interrupted. ''I made you uncomfortable. I made you fear me,'' he said, looking up at the ceiling. ''I don't want you to see me as a monster, Y/N.''
You didn't say anything, instead, you kept brushing your hair.
''I'm sorry. I can't make it up to you with words alone, but," he paused for a second, "I don't want to lose you. I sacrificed so much in my life. I said goodbye to so many people." His voice faded away, losing its strength and volume. "If I had someone to pray to, I would ask them to let me keep at least one person by my side, just one is enough."
He got out of bed and walked over to you, taking your hands in his and looking you in the eyes. He brought them up to his lips and gently kissed your fingers. "You're everything I have."

Before Round 27 - Tov’s Log
Jae (?) vs. Lang (?) -> ??? Win
————————————————————
Tov awoke the next morning to the phone ringing.
Nyx was gone, just as he said.
The only evidence of his presence left behind was rumpled sheets and a radio communicator so they could stay in contact.
They still had a lot to talk about.
All of the secrets Nyx spilled were still whirling around in her head.
“Vera is still alive.”
Good. Great. One less dead classmate.
“I never told you that I saw Aurien get taken away by Solei.”
They were even on that. Tov never told Nyx that she knew Solei was the one who rescued Aurien.
But that was before Round 7. Before she thought Tallis had died right in front of her eyes and lost her mind.
At least Tov returned the favor and spilled the secret about him too.
Now two people knew Tallis was out there somewhere.
Though what stuck in her mind the most, what left her with far more questions was—
“I never told you about my children.”
The thought of Nyx having just one child was enough to make Tov’s head spin. But he said children. Multiple.
He was so young. When the fuck did he have time to have multiple children?
Who were they? How long ago did he have them? Does he know their names? Are they still in contact? Where are they now? Please tell me they’re not in Anakt Garden—
The phone rang again.
Tov’s plot to tear that bastard Guardian Oryon’s wings off with her bare hands would have to wait for now.
She sat up in her bed and fumbled blindly for the answer button, hitting it with more force than necessary.
Wren started talking before she could greet her. “Hey! Where have you been? I’ve called you like three times already.”
“Late start.” She said around a yawn.
“Ah, so you haven’t read the news yet.”
Tov frowned, “What news?”
“Don’t worry about it. Just a bunch of gossip rags spewing bullshit about Round 26.” The distain in Wren’s voice was palpable. “‘Has the star of Season 39 fizzled out? Tov’s stellar fall from grace!’ Gag me.”
Ouch.
“That bad, huh?”
“It’s not bad, it’s tacky. They’re acting like you bombed on stage.” She said. “Akane was tough competition. Neither of you were going to win by a landslide. I don’t know why people are losing their fucking minds about it.”
Wren sounded pissed off enough for the both of them. Tov found herself smiling.
“Hey, I’m the one who almost died.”
“Yeah, but you didn't.” Wren said after a moment. “You beat death.”
“I just got lucky.”
“Then I guess that means my good luck charm worked.”
Oh, that’s right.
The new weight on Tov’s right ring finger came to the front of her mind.
She raised her hand up toward the window, letting the silver band catch the sunlight pouring in.
“Maybe...” Tov hummed softly, running her thumb over the sun and moon engraving.
“Something about your voice sounds different today,” Wren said. “You’re a lot more upbeat than I’d expect someone in your position to be.”
Is it really that obvious?
There was no way Tov was going to tell Wren anything about what happened last night.
She shook her head, “I think you're just hearing things.”
Wren laughs, “You're a terrible liar.”
“I'm a great liar.” Tov countered, affronted.
“Then l'm great at figuring out whether you're lying or not.”
“I don’t like the connotations of that.” She said flatly.
“You’re overthinking it.” Wren matched her tone.
Tov made a noncommittal noise, scrubbing the sleep from her eyes with her palms.
“I won't push you on where this new spark came from, as long as you put it to good use.”
“Put it to good use how?”
“For your next round!” She said. “You need a song that plays to your vocal strengths and uses that new spark you have. It should be something powerful, something that shows the audience that you’re still here and you’re still going to come out on top.”
“I still have to become the Sun.” Tov echoed.
“Exactly. It isn’t over yet.” Wren said. “You have a season to win, remember?”
————————————————————
This is a follow up to @imperfectnothing’s post of Tov and Nyx’s reunion after Round 26! Plus some sisterly bickering bonding!
Getting to see Nyx and being able to confirm that he’s okay has helped lift Tov’s spirits (even if she does want to put his owner in the dirt over what she’s learned).
She also has major survivor’s remorse over what happened with Akane, but Nyx and Wren’s encouragement makes her want to keep going. The power of siblings!!
While Nyx mentioned Solei to Tov, she still doesn’t know Solei is part bird 😅

Celeb Reading:
Hello. I was wondering if you could do a reading on Charles Leclerc's future spouse? He's an F1 race car driver.
The one you did for Jackson Wang was very insightful and I'd love to read on Charles'
Thank you.
Hello! Never thought I’d get an F1 request! I also don’t know much about him 😭 seems to be a pattern for me lol, lets get into it!
Charles Leclerc’s Future Spouse
Dice: 7th House, Gemini, Sun
Tarot:
Personality: Nine of Coins, The Lovers, The World, King of Swords, The Star, The Empress, Knight of Coins Reversed, Page of Cups, Ten of Swords Reversed
As i begin this reading i heard the song “pretty woman, walking down the street…” don’t know what that’s about
This person seems to have it all. They feel very blessed, like they have all they need in this world. Im hearing comeback, “I just had a comeback, Im gonna get back up”, with the ten of swords reversed i can totally see that. Maybe they’ve seen some downfall in their life, but at this point they feel great and are already overcoming this situation. They feel nurturing and sweet, also very airy, they could be an air sign. I think they move fast! I just keep seeing them move so quickly, like a cat with zoomies hehe. I heard the song lyrics “are we going up, or just going down, it’s just a matter of time until we’re all found out” by fall out boy. They’re romantic and youthful, and yet I’m getting they might be slightly older than Charles. They’re very relationship oriented. I see that if/when they come together with Charles they’d work together very well. This person is also in the public eye here with the star, it feels they also have aspirations they haven’t reached just yet, but for now they feel fulfilled. They’re like a guiding star? Or Maybe Charles will see them this way. Easily bored, they hate stagnancy. The letter P could be significant here. I just heard olive-complexion, maybe they have that.
Career: The High Priestess, Knight of Swords, Five of Swords, The Magician, Page of Swords Reversed, Six of Swords
For their possible career I’m getting they have to travel, and very often. It’s a career where their intuitive senses are important, and they have to make fast decisions with high stakes. This is probably what has caused their past slump, and I’m also getting it’s not the only one they’ve had. It’s like they’re used to ups and downs in their career. I did say they are also in the public eye, I’m feeling they regularly experience the downsides of this. especially on social media with the page of swords reversed. The magician tells me they’re mostly in charge of their career, they seem in control of a big part of it. i did say they constantly make decisions, and i think they like this, they enjoy the stress a little. But i do see that they are often disappointed in their career. they seem to have to compete for greatness, or they just feel that way. It’s a fast paced career, one which demands their power of creation to be put to work constantly. Now, I’m not getting a specific career though, i think spirit is hiding it from me. Couldn’t tell you why tbh.
Their relationship: The Sun, Queen of Cups Reversed, Five of Coins Reversed, The Hanged Man, Knight of Cups, Queen of Wands Reversed, The Devil, Eight of Wands
The FS is very, very emotional, to the point its kind of a lot. But they’re also quick to move on from it, I get lunar energy from them. The moon changes signs every two-ish days so it goes through a lot of changes in one cycle. This tells me they’re moody, prone to lows as much as highs, but also ever changing in their energy. Charles will have to be aware of this when dealing with them hehe. Idk why but Charles feels more grounded here, so they’re a good mix. There is mutual obsession here, they will always want to be together. A lot of chemistry, maybe they connect through the internet? Or they text a lot, hehe. I see they’re prone to fights and arguments, but they’re also quick to move on. I think their positions in life cause them a lot of stress and they might end up taking it out on each other. They understand this so while they might tussle every once in a while, they don’t take it to heart. They’re protective of each other and they are very defensive!!! They’re like each other’s guard dogs wow. I do see that their relationship will be stagnant at times, it seems like there could be some external factors that affect the progress of the relationship. They’re quick to step back and give each other space whenever they need to, even in a marriage commitment. I just see they trust each other a lot, so its not like they take breaks for other people hehe. They’re veryyyy loyal, almost fixated on each other.
How They will meet:
I just heard “not your business” so I didn’t even pull cards for it lol. I don’t wanna intrude if they don’t fell like talking about it. Again, so protective. I wonder why they feel like they have to protect it so much. But I’m not gonna pry any longer hehe.
It was an interesting reading!! Charles seems like a cool guy. Hope you guys like this! xxx

I see myself with you
So first time posting for TG:M and Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin. I’ve been a fan of Top Gun ever since seeing the first one as a child with my parents and after having seen Top Gun: Maverick a few times now, I couldn’t help the idea coming up. Thanks to @fortheloveoffanfic I finally got around to writing it 😅 It’s going to be a kinda mini series, not sure yet how many parts and drabbles I’ll be able to come up with. Happy reading and let me know what you think
Summary: You see the cowboy, you met during your roadtrip in Texas, in a bar in San Diego - your last stop of the trip. Only this time he is the epitome of coky pilot. (2.1k words)
Warnings: cursing, fluff, a little bit of angst, (is Jake Seresin a warning in itself)
Masterlist | Next Part
(gif by @honeybeedewdrops)
"Please darling, don't forget to be home for your Grandma's birthday, she's already complained twice why you haven't come visiting her when you drove past Frisco."
Sighing, you looked around for Allison who had left you in search of the toilet. "I'm sorry, I'll call her tomorrow. Ally dragged me to a bar, so it's probably going to be late."
"Alright, just be careful and don't let any dipshit talk you up."
With a soft laugh you said your goodbyes and turned back to the barkeep handing out drinks to the other patrons. Looking around you spotted an array of people flitting about - aviators stationed at North Island, financial people dressed up in suits and civilians, just like your friend and you.
For the first time in three years you were back in sunny California, enjoying the smell of the ocean and feeling the salt on your skin. Allison had moved to Europe to study journalism there and being joined at the hip since Kindergarten it was a no-brainer that you followed her, working the few odd jobs here and there to pay for food and rent, not sure if college was where you were headed.
Now that she was done, Ally was thinking of coming back home. "But first, we'll enjoy just driving across the country and going wherever the road goes."
That's how you ended up in San Diego, your last stop after having toured the southern states.
"Whatcha thinkin' bout, hun? That cowboy got your head all jumbled up?" She grinned, taking a seat next to you.
"That cowboy is back in Texas, don't think I'll be seeing him again."
Grabbing the drink from the bar, your friend watched you with a grin. "He left quite an impression on you. Never took you to fall for that southern boy charm."
Laughing at the idiocy of your car breaking down in the middle of Nowhere, Texas, you listened to Ally grumbling in the passenger seat of your rental pick-up
"Fucking hell, we should have stopped back in Dallas. The car's been fucked up for a while."
Taking a deep breath you leaned back against the hood. Your phone had no reception, no way were you going to be able to call a tow truck to get you to a shop. "We gotta sit it out, Ally. I've got no reception right now."
"Ugh, why does it have to be so hot here."
Just as you were about to respond you could hear a loud whistle. Shielding your eyes against the sun. You didn't know if your brain was making it up or if you were just lucky.
"Howdy, ladies."
"Well hello, ladies." A smooth voice with a familiar southern twang washed over you as you watched Ally's eyes bulge. "Can we buy the both of you another round of drinks?"
Moving your eyes over the group of aviators, you shook your head with a soft smile. Allison raised her glass at them and mimicked your action. "Actually Jimmy just made these for us, so we're good."
"Oh come on, it's just a drink." The one standing behind you leaned closer, his breath hot on your neck and you thought you smelled that cologne again, like that one night back in Texas.
Turning around you were met with the same face that had stolen your sleep at night ever since you moved on from the Lone Star State. Jake, the cowboy that had helped you fix the car as well as possible to get to the nearest shop. The guy that took you line dancing one night, and riding the next, so he could take you to the hottest make out spot in town like you were teenagers.
But right now he wasn't Jake, he was someone else. Too cocky for his own good and trying to impress his buddies.
"Yo, Hangman, come on. They're clearly not interested." The dark skinned aviator put his hand on his shoulder, trying to pull his friend away from you.
Shrugging him off, Jake moved his head closer and yet everyone heard what he said. "Last time you couldn't get enough of my darlin'. What's different this time around?"
Next thing he knew, the pilot was drenched in your drink, his mouth agape and trying to keep his eyes from stinging at the alcohol. You had hopped down from the stool and pushed your way through the crowd to get outside. Mourning not having gotten his number when you left to continue your road trip, the days having felt like a dream come true but now you felt relief. His southern charm had been replaced by too much cockiness and thinking he'd get everything with that smirk of his.
Inside, the barkeep sent him a disapproving look and turned back to the other patrons, refilling their drinks and taking on new orders. Allison patted his shoulder and shook her head. "Never thought I'd say this, but you're a fucking asshole Jake." She sent a wink towards his friend and left to find you, knowing it wouldn't be long before you gravitate back towards the cowboy.
“So, how long are you stayin’ here?" Jake asked you, sipping his beer in a bar the next town over.
Shrugging your shoulders you watched Allison laughing and dancing with one of the locals. “I guess as long as it takes to get the car fixed and then we’ll be gone and out of your hair.”
“Ah, don’t worry. Mom’s happy to have you around now that Laurie is back to workin’ and leavin’ the twins with her.” He chuckled, leaning back to look at you. It had been the second day you stayed with the Seresin family on their farm and he couldn’t help searching her out whenever she was near him. Also with him due to leave for TopGun he was glad for the two extra pairs of hands to help his Ma and Pa.
The blonde and you had been staying at the guesthouse, helping with feedings and paddock cleaning at the ranch, although horse riding wasn't too high on your agenda. "I'm not made for riding." You had commented, eyeing the chestnut stallion in his box.
"You know what they say: save a horse ride a" Jake never was able to finish that sentence before you had thrown the hay in his face.
"What?" You saw a smile that brought out his dimples and couldn't help the curiosity about what he was thinking off. "Is it your girl?"
"Nah, actually I was thinkin' of gettin' you to ride out with me tomorrow."
Pursing your lips, you gave him the best glare you could muster but the dark blonde just grinned at you. "I told you, I'll not be getting onto one of those four legged death traps."
Now he couldn't help the full bellied laugh that escaped his lips, the other patrons chuckling as you slid further down in your seat, a deep blush coloring your cheeks and disappearing underneath your shirt.
"Four legged death traps, that's a new one." He took a swig of his beer and pointed a finger at you. "Rowdy is actually really sweet, despite his name and he's the best horse to be on, especially if you've never ridden before. Let's just try it once, maybe you'll like it and it'd be a nice memory before I leave for TopGun."
Your eyes widened at the admission, you hadn’t thought he would be doing something else besides work on his family’s farm and yet the thought of him in a uniform made you tingle, even though there’d never be more between you than stollen looks. "You're leaving? Are you in the Army?"
"Navy, actually."
“So, you’re a sailor?”
Jake let out a soft chuckle, he knew you weren’t around these parts of the world, but curiously never thought you’d not have seen his awards when you were inside the main house. “I’m a pilot. Lieutenant Jake Seresin, at your service ma’am.”
Giggling softly, you couldn't help the smile that stole itself on your lips. Jake saluted you, sending a wink your way as he gulped down the rest of his beer. "Let's make it a date. You, me, Rowdy and Twink and an open field. Maybe a dip in the creek. What d'you say, darlin’?"
Who could say NO to a hot cowboy, who was a Navy pilot and was going to take a dip in the creek with you? - Yeah, no one. So you agreed, getting up with a broad grin the next day to meet Jake at the main house, but were stopped when you saw a bleached blonde hanging onto him, giggling at something he said.
“Come on Jakey, let's take Rowdy and Twink down to the creek and enjoy cooling off after…ya know. Get away from the farm and let the new help handle it with your parents.”
Sally had been his on and off fling since High School and she thought that Jake would be hers alone, but never thought about his first true love - flying his Super Hornet. So every opportunity she had, she'd make sure he'd only have eyes for her, so far it had worked quite well. He was a flirt and cocky, but most of the time a gentleman.
Biting your lip your eyes met his and you turned back towards the main house of the farm before he could react, letting himself be dragged towards the stables by Sally.
“So why were you bragging like that back there?” Javy was the only one left from their little group of aviators after the scene Jake had caused. “Did you want to get her back for not getting her into your bed after all?”
“Fuck, no!” Having freshened up a bit, the sandy blonde ordered around for them both and moved to a quieter corner of the bar, talking and keeping an eye out for you. “I thought she’d flirt back like she used to that day I met her. Sally was totally unplanned and the next day it was as if nothing happened. We said our goodbyes and I left for TopGun.”
“But that’s not all. There must be a reason why you’re an asshole trying to get in her pants. I mean, she’s hot and if you fucked it up, I’d be glad to show her that not only Southerners are gentlemen.” The pilot grinned, taking a large gulp of his beer before he chuckled at the scowl on his friend's face. So far only Coyote had earned that title, the other students not really meshing with Hangman’s cockiness and arrogance, even though he was the best at the school.
“Swear that this conversation won’t leave this place. If you tell anyone I’ll deny it and send your ass to the bottom of the sea.” Placing his hand over his heart, Javy nodded his head. It might not leave the bar at the moment, but it sounded like it was a great piece for black mail. Letting out a soft sigh, Jake leaned forward, his words spoken so quietly that he had trouble making out the sentences. “I wanna be the best of the best because that asshole of a sperm donor told me I couldn’t. My Pa loves my Ma, he loves me as if I’m his own, but Greg left us hanging. I wanna prove that I’m better than him and that makes me do dumb shit and fuck up relationships and friendships. Phoenix is right behind me on the scoreboard but instead of being fair and telling her what a good pilot she is, that voice in the back of my mind tells me I’ll never beat her if I make nice. So, I’ll stick to what I know and start fucking shit up, leave others hanging. Same with women, I’m able to get every girl in this bar, I mean, there’s not much to it if you really think about it, they usually fall all over themselves to score with one of us each night, but with her, I fuck up.”
Blowing out the air he didn’t know he held in his lungs, Coyote watched his friend. Jake had always been different when it was just the two of them. Even back in Lemoore where both of them were stationed. It didn’t matter that they were on different squadrons, but they were friends. “You gotta do some serious groveling if you wanna win her over, but if you stick to your charm and stop the assholness you’ll do just fine.”
“I’m gonna marry her, Javy.”
“Thought you didn’t know anything about her.” He chuckled seeing the grin on Hangman’s face.
“I don’t, but she’s the one for me, that’s all I know.”

Books With Morally Grey Gay People for Pride Month (Except, I'm Late)
Happy Late Pride, everyone! I'm sure many of you, like me, are tired of reading about perfect gay people doing everything right – you want some chaos in your stories! You want some problematic gays! So, even though I missed the end of Pride Month by about two days – and as a reminder that every month is Pride Month! –I've compiled a list of 5 books that have something super cool about them: their gays are bananas, complex as fuck and ready to wreck hell.
The Masquerade Series, starting with The Tyrant Baru Cormorant, by Seth Dickinson
This is one I've read recently and haven't gotten over just yet. The Masquerade Series is a triumph. This series follows Baru Cormorant, a young girl from the island nation of Taranoke, who watches her country be colonized by the hugely powerful Masquerade Empire. After one of her fathers is killed for being queer, Baru decides to join a Masquerade school and destroy the Empire from the inside out. Soon, she is being sent to unruleable Aurdwynn, where she is to be the Imperial Accountant. And things get very, very complicated from there.
Baru is an incredibly complex, ever-changing character surrounded by a cast of other complex, ever-changing figures – and most of them are queer! In fact, I think the only drawback for The Masquerade Series is that it can be a little too complex. But the payoff is amazing, and so worth it – especially in this first book, The Tyrant Baru Cormorant. And don't even worry about it – Baru & co. will cause more than enough harm in their way, making them an essential addition to the "problematic queers" packet.
The Locked Tomb Series, starting with Gideon The Ninth, by Tasmyn Muir
You've probably heard of The Locked Tomb Series if you spend a little bit of time on queer SFF booklr, but it's never too much recommending when it comes to this series.
It's very hard to explain what goes on in The Locked Tomb. The first book, Gideon The Ninth, follows our butch lesbian star Gideon as she is enlisted to become the sworn swords-woman to Harrowhark Nonagesimus, and they’re summoned to the First House to compete to become Lyctors, the companions of God. The first book plays out as murder mystery, while the next ones all devise creative ways to tell this story, which grows more and more complex. As the plot thickens, so does the complexity of our characters. They shine through in these novels, as their unapologetic queer selves, in this universe where homo and transphobia don't exist – refreshingly. But, as is the theme here, they don't always make the moral choice. In fact, The Locked Tomb is filled to the brim with crazy queers who do the most insane, deranged things. And Tasmyn Muir's complicated, intriguing writing will get you completely hooked and desperate to know what happens next with our problematic queers!
The Salt Grows Heavy, by Cassandra Khaw
I feel like The Salt Grows Heavy is severely underrated. It just needs to be better known! This is a horror twist on The Little Mermaid, and follows a siren and a plague doctor, the only survivors of a destroyed kingdom, as they go on the run, and the creepy things they find along the way. Now, although our queers aren't exactly villains, they aren't exactly the most moral of people. And their deep feelings of anger, for instance, permeate every page of this book. Mx. Khaw's writing style perfectly captures this, as they weave a tapestry of purple prose that keeps you hooked – I wasn't able to put this novella down from the moment I started until I finished it. Hopefully, you'll have as intense of an experience! She Who Became The Sun, by Shelley Parker-Chan
Another must for your problematic queer needs: She Who Became The Sun is a multi-POV story spanning two different nuclei. One follows Monk Zhu, who assumes her brother’s identity, sure that she is destined for greatness, and the people she meets in her quest to achieve this. Another focuses on Ouyang, an eunuch general who serves – and is lowkey in love with – Esen, the son of a province’s Prince, and the war they’re involved in. Zhu and Ouyang are the most chaotic of protagonists – and their decisions are morally grey, at best. The best part is that they arrive there very naturally – Mx. Parker-Chan is a master at character development, taking you from A to B smoothly. Plus, their writing is absolutely fantastic. She Who Became The Sun is a stunning debut and it is definitely worth all the hype! I'd hop on the train now, before He Who Drowned The World, the sequel, comes out in August!
The Monster of Elendhaven, by Jennifer Giesbrecht
Another novella, this one follows a monster and the man who controls him, exploring their complicated relationship. It's hard not to spoil it, but rest assured that these gay people do the craziest, most morally corrupt things you can imagine! What I enjoyed the most about The Monster of Elendhaven is its readability. I remember flying through this in a single sitting. The writing style reminds a little bit of The Salt Grows Heavy in the sense that it leans into the gruesome, but keeps itself very lyrical! Not to mention, the build up for the toxicity of their relationship is absolutely masterfully done, and I loved every single second of it.
That's all I have, guys, but if you want more queer books, I'd definitely check out my Queer Normal-World Books, where I've compiled some stories with no queerphobia in them!

Right, makes sense to see it as a plot device. I guess when you consider all the factors there really weren't a lot of other choices 💀
Thanks for the lovely reply and the fic rec :) I will def check it out
Btw do you have any solangelo fic recs or fics that you like? I've been having a hard time finding fics
solangelo recs?? of course!!
well, first off: anything solangelo by @buoyantsaturn who i hope doesn’t mind being bothered tagged. Particularly I know what I should do, but I just can’t walk away and I’m in Hell. Both Modern AUs and both masterpieces!! The first is a College AU that largely focuses on grief and healing, the other an AU where Will has a daughter and hires Nico as a nanny.
As someone who usually prefers canon fics, these were soooo great.
But really, everything I’ve read from this author is well written and captures Nico and Will so well that you can’t go wrong. Pick one and enjoy.
also: like a dog with a bird at your door by RegretfullyRegretful (and anything else by this author too). It’s also a Modern AU (Nico and Will are best friends who marry for convenience) but oh. god. Oh god. Obsessed with it.
Big classic: both with the lights on and will the lights on (same story but told by Will’s PoV) by nikkiRA. This is my comfort fic. I re-read it what? Once every two months? And it hits every single time. It’s a lighthearted College AU for when you need a reminder that love exists. Also Opportunity Knocks, still by nikkiRA. It’s set in canon and it’s about Nico having to relive the same day over and over because he’s been cursed by Aphrodite (u can guess what she wants him to do to break the curse lol).
Anything by Rosyredlipstick!! Particularly the star and the nothing (Nico tries to make a relationship with Will work as he struggles with trauma and alcoholism), Rental Love* (Nico hires Will as a fake boyfriend), and hands cupping sparklers (them getting together in canon while the entire Camp roots for them. It’s HILARIOUS). But really, every single one of their Solangelo AU fics. Some of them are set in canon and some are not, but all are amazing.
As If Hands Were Enough (To Hold An Avalanche Off) by theroyalsavage is also an amazing College AU.
if you need, come build your home in me by yrbeecharmer is a canon fic that follows Will growing up, from his first day at Camp to getting with Nico. It’s great and made me go all 🥰🥰 in my feels.
too much (yet never enough) by significant_what is a masterpiece. AU where Nico and Will meet in Catholic school. I get teary-eyed just thinking about it.
I’m halfway through Sanctuary by Tundras_And_Taigas and it’s pretty great!! Basically it’s set during ToA (but Nico and Will still aren’t a thing) and Will is forced to go live in Nico’s cabin.
and you can check out my fics if you want: Bad Sons (you kinda have to have finished ToA for this one tho) and Made your mark on me (a golden tattoo), but i’m a bit… weird when it comes to shipping. Bad Sons focuses more on Will as a character and his relationship with Apollo (tho plenty of solangelo fluff!!) and Made Your Mark On Me is about cheating, so i don’t know if they could be to your taste. I also don’t presume to think I write as well as the names I’ve given you but I try <33
I consider most of the fics I’ve recced pretty well known by fandom standards so I don’t know if I’ve helped you find anything new, but I hope I did!!
As for random pjo fics I like, I mostly like ToA ones so, lol
The Stolen God by @tsarinatorment is a great one, tho again I’d advice finishing the series to read it.
Also post-ToA, Build It Better Than The Sun by @seavoice is amazing
ToA fics by @flightfoot (Keyseeker on Ao3), particularly Memories of Godly Selfishness (Apollo and Meg are forced to watch some of Apollo’s memories and realizations are realized) and her long series God’s Eye View. I still haven’t had the chance to read the second one but every ToA fan I know has and what can I say, I trust my people.
@moodyseal has some too, my fave is A Spark Of Hope because it’s an obligatory read after TBM.
Aaand that’s all!! Unless you want Jasico recs, in which case we could be here another hour but I think I’ve overwhelmed you enough ahahah.

MASSIVE OUTER WILDS SPOILERS AHEAD
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Please do not click this if you haven’t completed the whole game yet
Ok, just us who beat the game now? Good.
I saw the start of a video game soundtrack tournament poll featuring Outer Wilds vs Sayonara Wild Hearts and it reminded me of a detail from the OW soundtrack that I haven’t seen anyone else mention. But before I get to that, I want to point out that I was hesitant to vote in this poll.
For some reason, the OW soundtrack doesn’t really come to mind when I think of good soundtracks. My first thought if someone asks what my favorite video game soundtrack is would be probably either Celeste or Hotline Miami, both great in their own right, but they both function fundamentally differently from the music in Outer Wilds. Those, and many others, follow the simple function of being background music to set the mood for each level. If you took them away, each game may feel a little more hollow, but would still play pretty much the same.
What struck me about Outer Wilds’ soundtrack is how much the songs are baked into the gameplay. Travelers is played by all the Hearthian astronauts themselves, End Times signals that the sun is about to go supernova (and in my headcanon is the actual signal being sent back in time to launch the probe cannon), Final Voyage fades in to tell you that the time loop is over and you need to Get Your Ass To The Vessel Now, and the songs for Timber Hearth/flying in space/the Sun Station/inside Ash Twin Project/etc. fit so well with the vibe of each area that they just felt like background noise that each place had naturally drifting around.
Hell, the game ends with a song. Music is so fully immersed in the experience that I didn’t even register it as separate from gameplay. So for that reason it doesn’t come to mind when I think of my favorite soundtracks. Because I don’t think of it as a soundtrack. I think of it as ambience, a trail to follow, worldbuilding and a warning to fucking gun it.
Which brings me to my little detail. When everyone is gathered around the campfire at the end of the game, and everyone plays their part in Travelers, you are of course also joined by Solanum (and The Prisoner if you completed Echoes). Solanum’s part is new to the song you have been hearing during you journey, as she points out herself: “This song is new to me, but I am glad to be a part of it”.
But what I noticed is that while everyone else is playing either long whole note chords or simple eighth note rhythms, Solanum is the only one playing with syncopation.
A traveler from beyond the stars, beyond time, an explorer like the rest of us, eager to join in and play a song with us simple but curious Hearthians, can’t help but add her own flair. Add in rhythms that would likely be foreign to the Hearthians.
And the song is so much better for it.

SPOILER WARNING FOR TSATS
My personal opinion of TSATS that no one asked for-
I personally loved Nico and Will’s relationship throughout the story, it felt realistic considering their situation and their miscommunication seemed accurate as no relationship is going to be constantly perfect, though I do wish their conversations were a bit longer
I love Will but I feel like this book left a lot of things unanswered about him, like they wanted to follow up on a promise of development for him but weren’t exactly sure how to follow through, especially with a book so focused on Nico. If this story had lasted even 2 books instead of 1, there would have been more development possible
The first half of the book, I loved. The trogs, Menoetes, Gorgyra, all of it felt the closest to books with Nico and Will I’d read in the past. Once they got to Tartarus was around when I started noticing this weird feeling, like something wasn’t right. It wasn’t super in your face or anything, but there was more that caught me off guard
I say this in the most love filled way possible, but parts of the book felt like a tumblr post
I honestly don’t really get the whole ‘Nico’s out of character’ thing I see people saying. His change feels natural, a part of his healing as he learns to accept joy into his life and focus on being a teenager. If anything, the dumb references seemed exactly like him, just a side we haven’t gotten to see in a while
If anything, Will seemed the most out of character, which makes sense. He’s someone whose POV we haven’t seen before, stuck in a place which is bringing out parts of him that don’t usually show on a surface level. The Will that so many people had in their head before this book was seen through other eyes, and now people are acting disappointed that he’s not who they thought he was when we weren’t given enough information to form a fair original impression of him
The one thing that kind of grated on me in this book was, unfortunately, the gay stuff. Nico and Will’s relationship felt so natural in the past, it felt almost more supportive to have it treated so plainly, a simple fact that Nico and Will were dating, and that was that. And don’t get me wrong, I was all for more representation, and things like Piper’s partner being mentioned or just simply Nico and Will being together was incredible. But now it just seemed to be all over the place, and again, often when it was mentioned it felt like a tumblr post
Wtf was up with Hazel and Reyna?? You know?? His two living sister figures?? I appreciate that we finally got some closure on Bianca, but to see Nico barely mention the other two kind of bugged me
The trogs should get a mini book. I said what I said
Idk bout y’all but Bob calling solangelo his sun and his star was some of the cutest shit-
Wtf was Nico’s coming out though like it still felt like it wasn’t fully his decision, after Cupid it seemed a little weird not letting his coming out be a private moment with the people he trusted most
Kinda confused how Nico survived his first fall to Tartarus when he didn’t have shit to protect himself? And yet with Will they had to make a half pipe to survive. How did Nico not just become a pancake on impact?? <- genuine question, anyone got ideas??
I think part of what made this book just slightly off for me was the lack of other characters. Even when it was just Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus, there were more familiar monsters, new friends, and there were other characters chapters in between theirs. I think that was why the Underworld part of the book resonated with me more than the Tartarus part, there were more characters to help the book move more smoothly
Also, they were fighting against Nyx, who is literally night. I know maybe my expectations were too high, but I was kind of hoping for more of a clash between night and the child of the sun
Overall, I liked this book a lot and it helped me reconnect with a part of myself I hadn’t explored in a while, but there’s a lingering ache of disappointment that I didn’t love it. Whether it needed more books to come to its full potential, or I raised my expectations too high, I don’t know. I’m still happy to own the book, to have read the book, and maybe the remaining melancholy is just a feeling of having to let go of characters, but I’d say this book did at least give some closure to all the sadness Nico has been through. The book did market itself as a ‘Nico Di Angelo Adventure’ so it makes sense he got the most insight
