i don't know if i can express how utterly unremarkable phil is not on fire was supposed to be, but i'm going to try.

so. as we may know, phil had recently done a week of q&a videos with similar questions to pinof. one of them was even with a friend (which we'll get back to later), proving to phil that this was a good format to use with a guest. here's where i start theorizing.

from the day they met, dnp were already quite committed to each other, even if neither of them knew it yet. in phil's paranormal activity video, he shows that love was one of the things that was falling into place for him. he hadn't yet realized that he was in love with dan, but he pretty much was. this explains why phil acted so differently with dan than he did with his friend in the zebra video (forgot his name oops). he had been falling hard for dan over the past few months and now dan was here, in his space, living and breathing and flirting with and even kissing phil. and best of all, phil's parents weren't around to bother them. they could just be.

so when phil turned on the camera, he was probably feeling pretty free. and as we see, he's completely different with dan than he was with his other friend. with dan, phil smirks and smiles more. they're pressed up against each other for nearly the entire video, while phil and his other friend are on opposite corners of phil's bed. phil leans his head into dan's chest because neither of them could contain their joy. and most importantly, i don't think he would've tackled anyone else.

dan, the theatre kid himself, wasn't even putting on a persona like he did on his own channel. this was just dan and phil being dan and phil. pinof 1 is probably the most raw, unfiltered version of them that we're ever going to get.

they didn't continue to see each other because of pinof. they continued to see each other because they were (and are!) in love and couldn't keep their hands off of each other. it just so happened that pinof took off and they happened to fit together really well.

speaking of, can we talk about how all the stars aligned so perfectly to bring them together? phil was desperate for a relationship at the time. dan needed someone he could count on, who could hold as much space for him as needed. he was also desperate to leave his hometown - and manchester just happened to be a 3 1/2 hour train journey away. falling in love was inevitable for him, as inevitable as it was for phil who had been searching for the emo boy of his dreams for years at that point.

so they kept making videos together because they loved it and each other. plus, it was already starting to bring opportunities, like phil doing apartment red when he met dan. and then when dan had his uni breakdown and dropped out, they decided this was it. either they go full steam ahead with youtube or they fade into obscurity and get regular jobs. obviously we know which option they chose... and here we are now.

Okay here goes, I finally have time to write my eras tour essay:

Just a little psa this got a lot longer than I expected, especially the pre-show part, so just be aware of that and ofc you don't have to read it @prisongang

Pre-show:

As some of you might know the stupid ass european football cup was in germany this year, which meant I had to go to a different city for eras, that was kinda annoying because I had to spent even more money on train tickets and a hostel, but I made it and everything was fine so it's good, also props to the Deutsche Bahn for neither of my trains being delayed l. Okay so I arrived at the train station and there were soooooooo many swifties there, it was crazy, looking back I probably should have started trading bracelets then but I'm still kinda shy so I didn't. In Hamburg I arrived at my hostel, checked in, got ready and then immediately left to go to the stadium. In the station from where i took a train there, there were also so so so many swifties and I even got some compliments on my outfit 🤗. When we all got off the train we still had to walk for like half an hour until there was really anything there, but it was okay, I also saw a lot of parents there which I thought was also really cool. Now comes a kind of confession because I still feel weird about saying this, but I had a VIP ticket (pls do NOT ask me how much it was or I'll just disappear into the earth from shame) and the VIP entry started at 3 pm and for me that was when the line I was in started moving, admittedly pretty fast. I was there around 2:30 maybe a little later but the line was already really long, I couldn't even really see the stadium. As it started moving I could also see other people sitting and waiting in the regular line (it was by far not as crazy as in München, but they were still there probably hours before they could get in), there was also a merch stand somewhere but I didn't go there and I actually didn't get merch at all, the opportunity just didn't really arise but don't worry I'm bot sad about it. As the line was moving and we could finally see the stadium it started raining a little, but since the line was moving so fast it wasn't really that bad. Then I was finally in the stadium around 4 pm so I still had two hours to go till paramore and I used those for doing nothing and just sitting on the floor so I could jeep my spot. Even for being in the VIP section I think I was very close to the stage, I was like 4th or 5th row at first and later it shifted a bit so I was pretty much 3rd row by the end. In front of me were some girls who all seemed to have just net there and were talking a little and I even talked to one of them who was from my city and my age which was really nice. While we were waiting it rained multiple times, and after like one and a half hours I couldn't sit anymore and I stood up so the whole floor was wet and I just stood but it was fine cus paramore came on not long after. Also while we were waiting the screen played some of taylors music videos and behind the scenes clips to those videos.

Paramore:

I'm not really a fan of them, I know some of their more famous songs but it was still really fun screaming along to the songs I knew or even the choruses of songs i didn't really know, after they were done we still had to wait like half an hour for taylor and it started raining again and honestly at that point I was not that excited about it, even though I know that people say rain shows are the best but at that moment I didn't really feel that way, but that would change soon..

Lover:

So the clock appeared a few minutes before and of course everyone was screaming and stuff and when it was done the dancers with the seashells? (idk what to call them u know what I mean) came out and I was soooooo close to them it was crazy, I also took a video of that whole part until right after taylor came up on stage and then I was just gone, I screamed the lyrics and danced and just didn't care about the rain anymore, even though it got worse and worse but the people are right it is so much fun to dance in the rain with taylor, really as soon as the show actually started I forgot that I didn't want it to rain because it really is that amazing of an experience. I loved this ehole act so much, I was really close to the door where the dancers came out and where they go at the end and so I was also very close to the Lover house and really close to taylor dring the man and yntcd which was so amazing and so fun, during Lover she wasn't that close anymore but I still took a video of the lover bridge cus I love that song and that album in general so much, I did miss the archer a little bit but I wouldn't say it missing diminished the experience it just would have been nice to have

Fearless:

First of all the transition was crazy, because NO ONE FUCKING TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE REAL SPARKS COMING DOWN FROM TOP OF THE SCREEN THINGY??? I took a video of this too cus I was so surprised and it looked really pretty, during fearless the song i was so so lucky because taylor and the band were practically standing right in front of me, i was so close to here i still can't believe i got that lucky for one of the songs i love so much, and i also have a video of the intro and I had so much fun and danced and screamed my lungs out sm during love story and ybwm, and ofc I got the outfit i hoped for which i was really happy about but during this era the rain got really really bad and while it was still so much fun i was a little scared for my phone so i didn't take any more videos or photos than the ones in the beginning

Red:

During the beginning of this i was also so lucky because the dancer who did the thing with the chest was on the base of the stage so still really close to me and I could see her so clearly. This was probably one of the most fun parts because i didn't really have anything i wanted to take a video of except a short one during atw so i was really in the moment and had so much fun just dancing care free and singing. When taylor gave the hat to that girl it was so so cute because she was so excited and i could also see that really well on the big screen and she gave taylor a friendship bracelet, which she wore for the rest of the set and it wa just so adorable and relatable how she was freaking out, i don't think I've seen any other child be this emotional over getting the 22 hat. There was also confetti flying around during this set but everything was wet so you couldn't really pick it up

Speak Now:

The Intro to this was also so beautiful, i saw it the first night of the european leg on a life stream which was cutting out so i didn't see everything but I knew I had to take a video of it and I did. The dress taylor wore was also so beautiful and again like during fearless she walked right past me and was so so close I couldn't believe it, i have my best pictures of the evening probably from this era and at least one where it looks like she is looking directly at me if you zoom in, which I am so excited about and ofc Enchanted was so beautiful to experience life, i loved it so much, it was breath taking

Reputation:

Again taylor was so close to me at some points during this set and during lwymmd were the dancers are in glass boxes i had such a great view and during the transition from dbm to lwymmd I think Paul was standing pretty close to where I was and was throwing guitar picks into the crowd which was also so exciting even though i didn't catch any. And of course 123 lgb was a religious experience

FolkMore:

I did miss the seven poem intro, because i saw it once on a lifestream and thought it's inclusion in that way was so beautiful, but of course the snake transition makes a lot of sense. Like with the lover house, the folklore cabin was also really close to me but what was a bit of a fail was that when taylor layed down on the roof during cardigan i couldn't see her anymore from where i was standing but i could see her on the screen so it was okay. Betty was also really special to me, idek why but i was so happy seeing it live, btw the rain had already long stopped at this point so i could film and take photos again without worrying. Champagne problems was also so close to me even though taylor was kinda hidden behind her piano but being that close to her during such an emotional song was still amazing and afterwards we were so loud for so long. I am also so happy about having seen my tears ricochet live, cus it was one of the first taylor songs i loved, it means so much to me and i love it's performance on this tour. Marjorie was also very emotional for me, vecause it reminds me of my own grandma who died a little over to years ago when i was just starting to become a swiftie and all the lyrics really resonate with me, I also took a video of the bridge and i think i can hear myself choking up a little during it and i always cry when i rewatch this video. I did miss tolerate it too a bit, mainly because I also would have a had an amazing view of it from where i was, but also because i love the lyrics and i love evermore. Willow was really beautiful too, i love that performance so much especially the little instrumental part in between the verses

1989:

Like with red i probably had the most careless fun during this era, because i didn't take any fotos or videos and just danced and had fun and it was incredible, i loved it, it really was the most fun I've probably ever had, all the chants were a lot of fun too and there was also the surprise that THERE WAS FIRE ON STAGE AGAIN!! during bad blood fire comes up from the stage multiple times in columns and the first time i had my back to it so i could only feel the warmth but after that i saw it and it was sooo crazy, but also added a lot to the performance i think

TTPD:

This is probably the era I've seen most often, especially icdiwabh cus it's right before surprise songs, but it was still amazing, because it was also finally properly dark during this set, which made taking fotos a luttle harder cus everything was white, but i still have a very good one from fortnite. So high school was so much idc if people don't like it, i love it (sorry poppy, maybe it's cus i still was in high school until recently), but it's fine, like i said i had so much fun during it and during waolom, because that performance is also just crazy. During tsmwel taylor was really close to me again and that set in general is just amazing with all it's theatrical aspects

Surprise Songs:

Of course I have some favourites, which i would've been absolutely ecstatic about, but the songs I got are still better than anything I could've imagined. First ofc teardrops on my guitar and i am so happy i got a debut song, no matter which one, I love debut and since it has no set I'm so happy about getting a surprise songs from it. It being mashed up with the last time made me lose my mind, because i love that song so much and I still can't believe i heard it live, it was one of my first favourites from red, and I was singing along to it so loud, i am so happy about getting this. And we were happy x happiness. Idek what to say these are two songs she's never played live before, how lucky am i?? I got fearless vault, no matter which one i am so happy about this!! And mashed up with happiness that makes it even more unbelievable , i was staring at the huge screen the whole time, absolutely mesmerised (cus i couldn't see taylor because if the slope of the stage) i kinda wish i would've taken a video, but I'm also really happy i was just present and really watched and listened to it (in general i think my favourite videos from that evening are the shaky one cus when i watch them i know that i wasn't looking at my phone while taking them, i was looking at the real thing), so yeah that was crazy

Midnights:

Especially during anti hero i could see taylor so well again cus she was directly in front of the screen, practically walking along bext to me and i have some really amazing pictures of this. Also during lavender haze she was right in front of me sometimes. Midnight rain was also so incredible, i love this song so much, have done so forever, it's so relatable to me and I'm so happy to have a video of it. I loved all the outfits for this et too so much, and at the end of karma everything looked so amzing with the confetti and all the colourfull jackets and just everything (sadly the floor was still wet so i couldn't take any confetti :()

Afterwards:

After the show i finally got to trading bracelets, i gave the girl from my city, from the beginning two and traded more with other people, but we were ushered out of the stadium pretty quickly and sadly I lost that girl without knowing hef name or having her number, as we got out it was just a sea of swifties out there in the dark, but it was so chill considering how many people there were and the police was also taking care, cus there was a tunnel which could've probably been a risk (#loveparade) and they made sure there wouldn't be too many people in there so everyone was safe and i actually made it to my hostel in probably under two hours which was a lot better than i expected and at some point while we were waiting someone ofc played taylor music.

So it was probably the most incredible experience of my life, everyone ther was just amazing and still can't believe it really happened, cus it seems like a dream. I miss it so much and i just want to go again and again. I would love to just go one time to take videos and fotos of everything and one time to just enjoy it and jot worry about that stuff, but I am still so happy that i got to be there and got to experience it.

Joker head cannons

He definitely knows how to sew more then that he knows how to make clothing and he's really good with mending and making dresses if he feels like it

He's bisexual with a preference towards men like he has some attraction to woman but I feel like he more so views woman as easier to manipulate and control then men, tho he does have to find the woman attractive otherwise there's no real point for him to be with them, but even when he has a female partner hes still flirting with men any chance he gets and not just Batman but just some rando mobster he meets at one of the many bars in Gotham

He's definitely borrowed one or more of Harley's dresses and has had to make or order her a custom dress because he got blood on the one he borrowed and she's destroying his layer and killing his goons because it was her favorite and if he doesn't remedy it he'll have no competent goons to do his bidding..

Just like he hates Nazis he hates homophobia even more he can't be bothered with other things like abuse or domestic violence or murder but homophobia no he's hunting you down like a dog if he catches you on his turf dating to be homophobic god help you if you make a homophobic comment about him... I just imagine he just smiles and laughs and then kills you the most brutal way possible and then takes your body and starts parading it around Gotham as his date and even goes so far to go into a restaurant with the body orders dinner for both puts it on your credit card and opens a bottle of champagne like would you like more my love and starts cackling while the rest of the staff are horrified, I feel he'd even go so far as to carve words or something into your flesh and then finally dumps the body as a warning..

In that same vain if he's out and about enjoying a day off or day off adjacent for him and he's at a bar hell definitely be the life of the party mans will be flirting hardcore with any man he finds mildly attractive would definitely shoot you for not laughing at his jokes though

He has a whole warehouse full of custom dresses he's designed and had made and suits and other various costumes

He's a really good cook witch no one expects especially with cooking on a budget he can make like a five star meal out of the cheapest ingredients but if he has a choice hes a bit bougie, also I feel like he'd host a cooking class with his goons because they keep fucking up his breakfast and as he's teaching the class one of the goons burns the egg and he goes "oh sweetie that's not it at all", then grabs the goons face and holds it down onto the burner till a circular burn mark is on his face while saying, "I dont want to punish you but if i don't how will you ever learn". He releases him but and tells him to try again the goon surprisingly gets it right..

NOTE: Now this next one it really depends on what iteration of joker but I'm gonna put this around bronze/silver age era where he's less violent and psychotic and in this little thought Harley still exists yes ik she wasn't written till the 90s this is my head canon shut up also this is canon things mixed in with my headcanons so

But I imagine mid fight with one of the bat kids one of them pauses and is like joker can I ask you a question and joker is kind of like thrown off a bit and a thousand percent expects it to be a trick or sucker punched but he goes along with it and is like sure what's your question and the bat kid is like... "Soooooo your not straight right"?! And joker just fucking starts laughing then pauses and is like "kid what about my outfit makes you think ah yes that's a straight man do you think a straight man would flirt with Batman or go out of his way to arrange such lovely dates for batsy if I were straight ". And joker is absolutely laughing because this is the funniest joke he's ever heard to think anyone ever thought he was straight even harley who he was involved with for years knew this about him the moment she laid eyes on him.. the bat kid just kinda staring at him awkwardly ajd joker just is like why do you ask there's gotta be some reason for this question.. the bat kid is like uhh so then your bisexual right so like how did u know you were bisexual what were the indicators you were the first villain I kind of thought of I could ask and also the most available.. joker just pauses and is like alright I'm putting a pin in this plan and calls Harley and tells her to bring a white board and markers witch leads to an hour long lecture on the different genders and sexualities and what they all mean as well as an explanation that not everyone will be an ally

He also goes on to explain that when he was young it wasn't really a good time to be gay or bisexual so a lot of people were repressing part of themselves due to fear of what others would do to them if it got out and how the kid is lucky that the world is more accepting now then it was then he also explains that he and Harley had different experiences in that regard as they grew up in different times seeing as Harley is younger then joker

To put in perspective when Harley was a freshman in college Bruce was already three grades above her and on the cusp of graduating before dropping out

I'm new to your blog and yoonmin. I am not a shipper but I've always felt a certain softness in them which I couldn't find in other BTS ship... wait maybe Taehyung and Jungkook. Coming to the point, when I was new to the fandom on Twitter I got bombarded with either taekook or namjin or jikook videos but a lot of people didn't consider or hyped yoonmin as they hyped vmin or jikook. My point is we used to see a lot of content from vmin and still see from jikook so why do you think there is more to yoonmin then these two ships? Vmin I may understand because they have a very different vibe but Jikook is so popular and are so close (not in 2023). You think there is any reason to assume jikook got distanced and therefore yoonmin came more closer this year. No, I don't believe in jikook and I'm not implying Jimin chose Yoongi as a second option. Please don't take this otherwise, this is not a comparison post. I'm really trying to learn about ym and other ship dynamics so may say something which might offend someone. I think the best way to learn is from a person who loves them both. 💜

You asked if I think Jimin and Jk became distant and that drew Jimin closer to Yoongi, and the short answer is absolutely not. First of all, I think Jimin and Jk are still very close.

Secondly, Jimin and Yoongi being a close-knit pair is nothing new. Yes, they were more open/visible in 2023, but this is a relationship (whether it’s romantic or platonic) that goes back years.

I’m just going to throw some receipts at you. I hope that’s ok!

- This (and this and this and this) was yoonmin during debut era. And here’s a bold move by Jimin in 2014.

- Yoongi and Jimin have been hanging out in their free time for years. They’ve mentioned going out to dinner/drinks, gaming together, working out together, Yoongi cooking for Jimin, long conversations, Jimin watching Yoongi do his shoulder rehab, Jimin visiting Yoongi’s parents’ house in Daegu, etc, etc.

- Even during periods when Jimin and Yoongi weren’t as visible (and some people thought they broke up), stuff like this and this and this happened.

- It seems like Jimin and Yoongi have a special affinity for each other. Jimin has used pics of Yoongi as the wallpaper on his phone, and Yoongi has done the same with pics of Jimin. Yoongi says he likes Jimin’s voice best. Jimin attended three of Yoongi’s concerts. Both Jimin and Yoongi have said many times over the years that if they could work on a song with another member, they’d choose each other.

And I’m only scratching the surface, anon! There is soooooo much going on with yoonmin over 11+ years. This is my long-winded way of saying that I don’t think Jimin’s friendships with Tae or Jk or any other member are what define yoonmin.

Hi I’m here to scream about Bo-Katan because the parallel between her taking the darksaber in Guns for Hire and Heroes of Mandalore TOOK ME OUT. I’m all the way in my feels for this girl she DESERVES this but you know that even as she takes that blade, looking like she doesn’t have a single doubt or regret anywhere in her mind, that she’s feeling so many conflicting emotions about that blade and what it means to take on this role again.

Ugh it hurts so much to see her doing this I’m not gonna lie, like on one hand it’s awesome and she SHOULD be the one to reunite Mandalore, she deserves it, but in the other hand she’s already tried and failed so many times and to see her step into this role yet again, knowing that she’s risking breaking her heart and losing what little she has all over again, all because she wants her people to be strong and prosperous again, makes me want to fucking sob like Jesus Christ someone give her a hug and a stiff drink lord knows she needs one.

While I want that damn sword yeeted into a volcano, it was nice to see her get it (mostly because she's soooooo much more badass with it than Din). I didn't love the round about way she got it back, though kudos to Din for figuring out (but, dude, you JUST thought of that?). But she's getting more and more thrusted back into a leadership role, and I honestly think she's just tired.

And, one point I'd like to make is that while I am SURE Bo thinks she failed as a leader, I don't think that's fair for her or us to think. She DID manage to get Mandalore's shit whipped back into shape after Maul (if people nearly 20 years on still consider her the rightful ruler, according to Fenn). That's hardly a failure.

But after that, she was up against the Empire. And we all know how terrible the Empire is. Even to planets and people who didn't resist their occupation, they were still cruel. And to people who fought back?

Well, it's little wonder Mandalore got glassed. If the Death Star hadn't been blasted (not really sure where in the timeline the glassing occurred, but I assume it was after at least the first), I don't think there would be an actual planet left to reclaim. They just nuked it, instead.

Fighting and losing against the Empire isn't failure. It is an actual fact of life in that era of the GFFA. The Empire used fear and MASSIVE weapons to rule, and it would have been nearly impossible to truly win. Yeah, Bo helped beat the Empire back, out of Sundari at least, but I think that ultimately made them come back even harder, and I hate that she counts these things as failure.

All that being said, I think she rather sink into the ground than lead again. And I don't trust the Armorer. But here she is, her new bestie Din backing her, and it's time to lead these hellraisers....again.

I LIIIIIIVE!!!

Okay so if it wasn't telling enough, I have been (and I think still am) in a book reading hiatus 🥹 I'm sorry!! But life just got... so busy. But recently, life has been, well, fairly interesting.

So okay before that, HELLO!! I haven't been on tumblr since FOREVER!! My last post was 4 years ago omg! I deleted the app, and stopped going on tumblr for a while, but I redownloaded it just now cause I have soooo much to talk about. Yes it's still about books, but there's another factor added: BTS.

Yes I am ARMY now 😂 I tell you soooooo much has happened!! But i'll fast forward.

Okay so it was about sometime after i've posted my last book summary that i felt a change in me. Suddenly I was too tired to read. My eyes would fail me everytime I open a book. 5 minutes in and I'm too sleepy. It doesn't matter what genre, what kind of book. I don't know then what happened but as I looked back, I concluded that it was because of my work. I had change jobs that time and suddenly work increased, and became more challenging that I didn't realize that it sucked all the energy out of me. Slowly i stopped altogether. Even my instagram and goodreads are all still in cobwebs.

The I met the men who would ✨literally✨ change my life. There were only 3 things that made me fangirl this hard and that was Harry Potter, Taylor Swift and ARASHI, and even these three didn't compare to how i've fangirled with BTS (though i still am a potterhead, a swiftie and an arashist at heart).

Skip to the point it's getting long!! --- So as all armys know these men are hella poetic in their lyrics, especially the rapline, especially namjoon, and I truly believe it's because they love to read. I believe that, cause when I was in my bookworm era, i'd use words I never thought i'd use, and I was more confident in using them, compared to now, I really felt that I'm always short of words to use that I more often black out when I speak in english.

Okay okay so BTS, they love to read. And they have ✨book recommendations✨!! And there's so many!!! I've kept the lists and wanted to go back to it when i'm ready to read. But still, I hadn't had the will to start. Until...

Hello, Beyond the Story: 10 Year Record of BTS.

So yes I am currently reading it now and savoring EVERYTHING. Though I still feel that tiredness I was talking about, but this time I have sheer will. The need to finish this book AND read the tagalog version (which I heard and saw was really really good) is very strong.

I plan to make a post about it after I finish them, but wait, this isn't even what this post is about!!

What I found so far that I already have, plus The Alchemist aaaand Fahrenheit 451 -- two of which I've already read so it's not currently here on my shelf, but i'll have to look for it anyway. Ah I know I have Metamorphosis somewhere here too.

The I Decided to Live As Me I bought cause of them, and I just bought The Midnight Library but I don't have it now. I read parts of it via pdf but again I hadn't finished it!! I hope I finish it now, now that I have a physical copy. Am also planning to look for Almond, the Magic Shop book and the Omelas. After that i'll stop buying and finish everything 😅

What's funny here is as I was laying these books down to take a photo, I realized that three of the books here have bookmarks 😂 it means that I was able to start it, but hadn'd finished it.

So what does this mean for me? Am I going to be back from hiatus? 😂 To be honest I really don't know 😂 But i'm really happy that i've found a new reason to pick up a book again after so many years. Buffy season 1 reflection!!!!!!!!!

My feelings on Buffy so far are very complicated because I find it crazy entertaining but there are so many things in the show that I just KNOW are terrible. I really enjoy the character dynamics its probably my favorite thing about the show. I find it endlessly funny that Giles has to hang out with a group of teenagers, and (when xander isn't making it weird) the main group is super cute and funny together. Also really like the setting, highschool shenanigans are always fun and idk it just seems like it would have been very cool to be a teen in the 90s. Also I like monster of the week stuff with a more overarching plot, you can kind of just enjoy things as they come and have the security that it's pretty much always gonna be resolved by the end of the episode. FOR WHAT I DONT LIKE. well "Buffy Speak" is annoying. like I'm getting more used to it and even able to find it charming at some points but BOY when i started the show it was almost making it unwatchable. i can see myself liking it by the end of the series but for now lets just be a little annoyed with it. Other thing that really gets me is the buffy/xander/willow love... line? idk i think i could stand it if xander didn't pine over buffy and wasn't weird to girls because he's very weird to girls. Somehow buffy manages to be like girlboss feminism win while also being the most sexist show every created. and maybe that was just like the era but yeah i don't enjoy watching male characters I'm supposed to like perv out over women.

Character Thoughts

Buffy- shes so awesome like honestly!! i like that she lives this very bad ass life and like we the viewer know how cool she is because we see her do all these bad ass things, but to the rest of the school shes just kinda like this weirdo kid who hangs out in the library. it kind of makes her an honorary fail girl in my opinion. And just her whole attitude of wanting to be a normal teenage girl so when it comes time to slay monsters shes like "ugh. guess its monster slaying time! whatever!" and acts bad ass as hell but doesn't really care. also its just awesome that she is physically super strong. like she will just randomly be punching through walls and doing sick backflips. ugh i love it

Giles- I. LOVE. GILES. im a Giles fangirl all the way like what else is there even to say about it. When he comes on screen I'm just like instantly smiling. funniest character ever invented. And again i just love that he has to hang out with teenagers all the time and sometimes they just like bully him for being old and lame and into books and he's constantly getting beat up and thrown around. yeah i don't even have much to say he's just awesome

Willow - Literally the blueprints for dorky nerdy girls everywhere like what else is there to say. we all know she is literally BEYOND iconic. Shes so cute and smart and charming and like honestly its like. how many girl in media really DO get to just be dorky like its pretty rare i feel like that's why its like. she was the blueprint man.

Xander - ... yes my complicated feelings yes yes. he's soooooo annoying and fail but... you know i like when guys are fail guys.. BUT HES ALMOST TOO FAIL. of course like i already said i hate the way he acts to women and when buffy rejected him and he acted super pissy and like "ugh whatever you only don't like me because you like that chad Angel ugh nice guys always finish last" I literally wanted him dead. so beyond cringe with that kind of behavior. BUT when he's like being sweet and goofy then I'm like.. aw hi funny guy from the 90s lol! and i do think his relationship with willow CAN be super cute cuz idk i just like the whole childhood friends vibe and i like that they have a relationship outside of their time with buffy and its nice to get little glimpses of them together just being buddies. I think the whole situation would be 100% better if xander was pining for willow instead of Buffy and willow was the oblivious one. I am not against their relationship at all i just hate to see willow be the one pinning for him cuz its like girl. you can literally do better okay. you are awesome. whatever. sorry for being a halfway Xander apologist

Cordelia- literal girlboss. every time shes on the screen its a treat. I just love the vibe where she is like?? friends with the main characters kind of? but also just bullies the shit out of them and is so mean in every interaction. see the thing is if they were't friends at all she just wouldn't talk to them or they wouldn't talk to her. but they always end up talking so there is obviously some kind of relationship there. but its just like one where she calls them losers and they are like "alright. well see you next week cordelia" If you are a hater and think shes mean get out of my face shes literally awesome and funny. also in the final when she drove her car thought the school doors... SO . GIRLBOSS. i am very excited to see where her character goes cuz i got the feeling at some point shes gonna turn into some kinda supernatural monster. i just feel it.

Angel - eh lowkey who cares. I am never one to be interested in the mysterious brooding guys its just not my thing. He reminds me of Edward from twilight both in face and attitude and because he's a vampire of course lol

Honestly they were all kind of of equal quality. Nothing was so horrible I couldn't stand it they were all just good. One that kind of stood out as a favorite was "I robot, you jane", it was nice to have something more willow focused and it was very funny to see what people thought of the internet back then. Willow kind of online dating a guy was enough to make everyone freak the fuck out. And i really really love the way the demon robot looked. the idea of a demon existing on the web was just a cool idea in general. idk just a cool way of combining the supernatural with tech stuff

The album feels like a Playlist that you hear while taking a walk or on a raodtrip? I love it, I just love everything about this with how much thought was given. Onto svt! That is perfectly fine to not vibe with a comeback! I will admit, I didn't fully vibe with this comeback and it shocked me because every comeback was a hit to me. Even fear, left and right or homerun where I know many fans were split on, I liked but RTL was a grower. For me, listening to it without watching the mv, helped it alot and it is a song I like. Is it their best? No I don't think so but it is alright to say "hey I didn't bop to this, not my cup of tea" (imo I blame the mv? The mv REALLY didn't do the song justice at all, I am sorry if I sound like a fake fan but this mv Just is bad in all aspects. Sure we have some pretty shots but like it just doesn't fit at all?) So if anything listening to the song or wishing the live performances does it better. Seeing the choreography amps the song up more, cannot go wrong with their dancing. But you did research! This musical wasn't meant to be completely accurate, it was meant to be a gateway. You learned and you are better for it.

For classic theater lovers, it's a gateway to hip hop. For hip hop lovers, it's a gateway to classic musical theater.

It's also a gateway to learning. You went through the effort of educating yourself so you would be able to recognize the inaccuracies in the first place. Hamilton inspired me to read (most of) the Federalist Papers, to read that pamphlet by Thomas Paine(and more, that guy wrote quite a bit), to read letters of the era, to learn about the French revolution, to learn about Sally Hemmings, to learn about Rachel Fawcett.

The musical is meant to have people ask questions, not to make them think they know all the answers. There are definitely people that think they know it all after watching/listening to this, but I don't see how the fault is one the musical itself.

LMM has talked about his changes he made, saying himself that he "conveniently forgot" that the Schuyler Sisters also had brothers, but didn't change it because it upped the stakes in terms of Angelica's position as older sister. He also talked about how he completely changed a lot of aspects of the timeline, such as when he meets Burr and Angelica. (He talks about this in some interviews and mentions them quite often in the Hamilton: The Revolution book). No one would care in the first place if they didn't get invested.

Also, I haven't seen this ever marketed as historically accurate? It is historical, in the sense that it has made history in terms of music and performers on a Broadway stage. But definitely not even close to 100% historically accurate (reminds me of this tweet I saw that said "Warning: Many of the musical numbers in Hamilton never actually happened").

There's no denying that there is a generation of fans that have trouble separating fact from fiction, but I don't think the narrative or portrayal that has done that. I'm thinking of RPF and the swaths of speculation that develop in almost every fandom. How you interpret the musical is up to you and your experience with it, but I don't it's fair to say that the narrative alone is the cause of this. This stuff happens in nearly every fandom and I don't think it should be isolated to portrayal alone.

And obviously Jefferson wasn't a jazz loving Black man in a purple suit, or Eliza a beatboxing Chinese-America in blue. But that's the beauty of Hamilton, "The Story of America then, told by America now".

Of course they didn't get it all, and they didn't get it all right, but how they portrayed the stories they did tell is what it's all about. That's what inspires me about it.

So I have some thoughts on Hamilton. This was made 1st October 2021, my thoughts could change in the future.

No, that wasn't it. Whole plot points and lyrics that supposedly hinge on character motivation or circumstances are completely different from actual history.

Burr's regret in killing Hamilton was muddy at best, and he had clear written beliefs. Angelica had brothers. The 1800 election wasn't a 'landslide'. There was no evidence that Mulligan and Lafayette even met. Naturally there are some things that Miranda got right but musical character beliefs sometimes entirely contradict the real historical figure documentations.

So many tiny details that make up the events and lyrics in the musical we know are just so wrong. You could look at it narratively, like it's a tragic meta commentary on the glorification of history from a country's perspective, or something like that. But this messiness in its portrayal and narrative is how it managed to spawn a whole generation of fans who have trouble seperating fact and fiction.

I don't know what the intention was for this musical, honestly. I've said it before I've said it again, it's like the world's most expensive fanfiction novel very loosely based on what the author thinks the history was. I have no clue.

Maybe if it were marketed as some very fictional alternate universe version of events, it would still sell really well, but I saw it was shown over and over again to basically 'tell the history of what happened', which is kind of yikes to me.

My respect for Miranda went from 8/10 to 5/10, would be lower if not for his musical talent.
