Buck challenges Eddie to try to hit on him after teasing Eddie for not having any ‘game’. This fic is very funny and very soft.

believe in one thing (i won't go away)

This fic hit me straight in the feels. Buck and Eddie go to couples therapy even though they aren't a couple and they work through some stuff.

How to Cure Boredom: Buckley Edition

The 118 are stuck at the firehouse during a slow shift and Buck entertains them all by mattress-surfing the loft stairs. It’s soft and silly and in the same universe as her other fic Safe in His Arms.

I will scream from the rafters how much I adore this fic and yes it did make me cry (happy tears). It’s a look into Buck’s head after his sperm donor kid is born and he realizes what Christopher (and Eddie) truly mean to him. I know I have recced this before but it deserves all the love. 

Unless You Ask Me To

Eddie dates a man for the first time, and Buck is completely 'Fine'. This is a preemptive rec because it is one chapter away from completion and I have been saving it to binge in one sitting but knowing Jenwyn and her incredible talent I guarantee this will be worth the read.

Buck finally tells Eddie he loves him right before Eddie’s new boyfriend is supposed to meet Christopher. Honestly, all I can say about this fic is that it’s a masterpiece and I screamed many times while reading it.

So the situation's this, it's 1955, and you're trying to make a name for yourself in the journalism industry. You currently work for the New York Times - as a secretary. Though you offer the same - if not better- credentials as the men who write hard-hitting pieces, you were overlooked as many women do in the workforce.

Why have you work when you can be a pretty face for everyone to see? It's bullshit, really. However, you were in no position to complain about where your income comes from, so you took the job. Something's gotta pay the rent, even if it killed you to watch everyone doing your dream job. That's supposed to be you working at your passion, not the underqualified men who make more effort in hitting on you than on their writing.

You're currently perched on your chair, chin in hand, as you stare blankly at the phone, waiting for it to ring. Your bored expression seemed to say "Come over and condescend me!", or at least that's what one douche seemed to think.

A cocky co-worker strides over to your desk, clad in a tacky blue suit and a coffee-stained tie. He stands in front of your desk and chuckles, "What's wrong, sweetheart? Chip a nail?". Taking a deep breath, you restrain yourself from kicking him in the balls (if he even had any), "Just waiting for the phone to ring.". The man rests his elbows on your desk, "C'mon, where's that smile? You'd be so much prettier with one.". You bite the inside of your cheek, restraining your instinct of telling this douche off. Instead, you plaster on a strained smile. "There she is!" he chuckles, walking off to his desk.

As soon as he's out of sight, your smile drops instantly. "Stupid piece of fucking shit... hope he chokes on a fucking cock," you mutter to yourself, letting your anger simmer as you bounce your leg agitatedly.

The whole situation mulls over in your head, how could you allow your life to come to this? Reduced to your gender, working at a job where you're nothing but a pretty face... You wish things were different, but what could you do? Your eyes flicker to the head editors office door that's practically calling your name.

You know that you're destined for more. What's the worst that could happen if you just ask? So what if they fire you? There are plenty of other secretary positions open anyway. Hesitantly, you get up from your chair and march over to the editor's office, knocking on the door with a shakey hand, "Mr. Anderson, sir?". "Come in," the familiar raspy voice responds.

Straightening out your skirt, you push the door open and smile. "Kitten," he exclaims, "what brings a pretty face like you in here? Dont'cha have phones to attend to?". You shake your head, "No, the line's empty as of now, I actually wanted to talk to you about-". "Talk talk talk, that's all you women do," he states, "that and drain men's wallets!". Mr. Anderson cackles, leaning back in his chair as he laughs himself to tears. "Hah... yeah... funny," you say flatly. "Oh, cmon, it's just a joke, you women are so sensitive," his laughter dies down, "now, what'd you need to talk about?".

Taking a deep breath, you steal yourself for the moment ahead, this was your chance. Don't blow it. "Well," you begin, "remember when I interviewed here? I originally wanted to work here as a journalist.". The old man nods, leaning forward on his desk and giving you an intimidating look as he stares you dead in the eyes. You swallow nervously, "Y-Yes, well, I wanted to follow up on that.". "On what?". "On my position here at the company as a journalist, not a secretary," you state firmly, standing up straighter as you try not to let his intimidation get to you. Mr. Anderson sighs and leans back in his chair, rubbing his eyes with his thumb and forefinger, "I don't understand, you're a fine secretary.". "I know," you defend, "but I wanna be more, I know I can be more than this! I went to college and was one of the only women to get accepted into the journalism program!".

Sighing softly, you plead with him, hoping he'll show a shred of humanity, "I can do this, I just need the opportunity.". He groans, "You're a pain in my ass sometimes.". "But," he reaches into a filing cabinet and hands you a file labeled "THE SIGNAL DOMINION", "you're very persistent, so here.". You grab the file, and your face lights up, "Thank you so much, sir! You won't regret this!". "I better not," he says while lighting a cigar. "I want you to write an exposé on a cult run by a man named Vincent Oren Xavier, are you familiar with him?". You shake your head no. "Doesn't matter," he dismisses. "Everything you need to know is in that file. Now I'll need you to go undercover for this, pretend your some type of damsel in distress that's looking for a new church or some crap I dunno," he huffs out a puff of smoke, causing you to cough and waft the air in front of you.

"Don't be gettin' all high and mighty because I gave ya this piece though," he states while waving his cigar, "I've only given ya this to shut yer trap, got it?". "Yes, sir" you nod, "thank you.". Walking out, you close the door softly behind you and skip happily to your desk. You set the file on your lap, squealing happily as you read the contents.

notes. writing the prompt “love potion” for my own event despite it having been closed for a month LMAO i just need an excuse to write something… anyways uh pls pretend i’m not writing xiao when i said i wouldn’t in a while 🫣 i have a wip for tighnari otw i promise !!!

xiao has never been interested in mortal celebrations. but after meeting you, he can’t help but want to learn more about them. “would you… want to come to the lantern rite with me?”

you were pleasantly surprised when he asked; glad to see that the yaksha was finally coming out of his shell. you laughed, took his hand (which prompted a blushing mess out of him), and led him down to the harbor, where the festivities were already starting.

figuring he still wasn’t too comfortable being around large crowds of mortals, you took him to a secluded spot on a hill by the pavilion, close enough so that you could still see the lanterns that lit up the sky.

“they’re beautiful, aren’t they?” you ask him, following his eyes as he stared at tiny glowing dots fading in the night. xiao nods slowly, seemingly mesmerized by the sight. you smile softly, leaning your head on his shoulder as the two of you watch the fireworks show that followed.

dan heng, being a bit of a bookworm, was a little… socially awkward, to say the least. luckily, you found his quirks entertaining. “there’s a new bookstore that opened across the street… would you be interested?”

so one tuesday afternoon, you meet him by the park, where he stood with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. you giggle when he awkwardly offers them to you. “of course, why else would you have bought them for?”

making you way to the bookstore, dan heng watches as you stroll down the aisles, picking out some you wanted. he felt his heart swell as he spies his favorite novel in your hand. “i didn’t know you liked that book too…”

the two of you end up spending the rest of the afternoon in the cafe next door, chatting about your favorite books over coffee. he smiles, maybe being a geek isn’t a such bad thing after all.

zoro never quite wanted to leave the sunny when the crew docked on a new island; he preferred to stay behind and take a nap, or train. but you always encouraged him to come along, and he finally decided to go along with it. “i’m gonna go explore… if ‘ya wanna come with.”

there happened to be a small crafts market in the town nearby, so you and zoro (mostly just you) went admiring the handicrafts the stalls had on display. "aww, how lovely!" you admire a little clockwork deer that reminded you a bit of chopper.

then you realized you had some business to attend to in town, so you left zoro behind for a few minutes, saying, "don't you dare get lost while i'm gone!" he stands there awkwardly, before glancing back at the crafts stall. while i'm here...

...and then of course you happen to accidentally encounter the marines, causing you to have to run back to the ship with zoro in tow. when you're finally safe in the crow's nest of the sunny, however... he presented you with the mechanical deer toy from earlier, to your joy. "i don't have that many berries but.. i know you wanted it, so i guess i'll just have to pay nami back later."

end notes. i thought i would write a lot for xiao but i ended up writing more for zoro lmao he’s been taking up all of my brain recently but i hope you enjoyed <3

SO! i have two main sequel ideas for herald at dawn, both of which are basically complete opposites to each other in terms of vibes & all that jazz (one of them is also a lot more fleshed out and i may or may not have written a scene for it already)

the first one is about the fae and is entierly an excuse for me to worldbuild endlessly. it has no plot but it has SO MUCH WORLDBUILDING (i have spent too much time worldbuilding for this even though i (probably) will never write it its too cheerful)

the second one is based off the strikes in the late 19th/early 20th century, both in the us and in europe, but especially the homestead strike in the us in 1892, the matchgirl's strike in england in 1888, and the anthracite coal strike in the us in 1902 (also other ones but I don't have the names on hand). loose plot is that there's a strike, alex & all are covering it (much to the annoyance of the other newspaper's and also james' father, who is working almost in a pinkerton detective agency role but also not as evil or hands on. like a strikebreaker but more corporate), someone gets murdered (im not sure where in the timeline this happens yet, but it definitively does), they investigate it because [insert generic murder mystery reason here], and then Events Occur (many of them. possibly a little bit of kidnapping? there's only the one murder though). its meant to be a little bit darker than herald is and i may or may not have written a scene for it already (said scene is extremely unpolished and disjointed but that doesn't matter yet)

malex pretty woman au (roswell new mexico)

my next big project is the malex pretty woman au. alex is the rich, detached businessman, michael is captivating in tiny blue shorts and thigh high boots. do you see the vision? i need to make a banner and pick a title!

(i make ONE comment to @bigassbowlingballhead about craving a certain type of fic and suddenly i'm being enabled into my next longfic 🙃). i am genuinely so excited about this one. i've got about 5k written and the whole fic is plotted. i'm thinking this will be in the 25-30k range? maybe? honestly jon is better at estimating my word counts than i am so who knows. still not sure if i'll finish writing this one and then edit and post chapter by chapter or what i'll do, but i think i'll be able to get this one up this year.

if i have another big project in me i would LOVE to finish my outsider pov firstprince exes fic. i love love love this weird little fic but it is a real challenge to write.

shadow is a buddie fic that was gonna be a big bang fic (which will never happen) but i *could* finish and post the first few chapters as a one shot. featuring baby eddie having his mind blown by a slightly older, extremely gay buck at a college party while visiting his sister.

i wanna be adored is an elliott/marco, marco gets dropped into crystal valley fic that i've written about 5k for but can't quite get to do what i want. when i started writing it there were no kissingchambers fics, but there are lots now! so if you like them you should probably just read those bc this bad boy probably won't see the light of day even though i've got about 5k written.

dumotanger omegaverse college au (men's hockey rpf) - y'know i really love this one and i am unhinged about dumotanger but i think there's just something missing here that i haven't been able to figure out. i'd love to finish it if i do though! i've got maybe 3k written.

okay those are the ones with something significant written. i have LOTS of other abandoned wips and ideas, plus i always like to do some kind of short prompt series. i haven't done femslash february in a while so maybe i could write a few ficlets for that? maybe do some shuffle prompts again? hmmm. we'll see, we'll see.

Cyberpunk Tf Au Mega post : (WIP)

In this world all cities on Cybertron have dedicated musicians that are elected through the most popular vote. There is no war, but movements for the political system to be overrun and remade. Many of the elected musicians are there to help the people, to give them strength and courage to speak against the oppressive policies the government gives them.

The aesthetics of the people differ from city to city. (Examples)

The changes also go to the different genres of music the top musicians create and play in live shows.

Truth is, I'm always drowning in WIPs, help. xD I tend to drop WIPs every now and then when I get infected with a new brainworm, so my art is all over the place. These days, sadly, I rarely have the motivation/energy to work on bigger illustrations, so I usually just draw doodles or comics to de-stress.

Also, most of the time I name stuff just by keysmashing (that's why I can never find ANYthing, my folders are total chaos lol), so I'll just give one word that describes my active bigger WIPs:

WIP Ask: I wanna know about Nerves and Nightmares [of course I do, Paranoid my beloved]. Tell us as much as you can / want without spoiling too much :]

okay.

let me preface this by saying that I probably know as much about this WIP as the average audience member. and why is that? because I actually didn't think about properly plotting it out.

if anything, I was just like "okay I wanna write stp fanfiction for my AU". and then I went ahead and was like "I wanna write it in first person." and then at first I wanted to make cheated the main POV character (so we could've had like 'Rages and Razors' or something I don't even know man) but then I decided. nah. paranoid's better for plot and he's my wife now.

so here we are. what an awkward start to a relationship.

i've blabbed a little about it in the main post so I shall blab a little more about it here. it's cosy fantasy. daily going-ons. a little slice of life. taking care of work. living and learning and changing. dealing with the other voices' bullshit. they all live together in a cosy little village, and he's the resident healer apothecary guy, and there's thankfully no shortage of bullshit to deal with.

this is a story of adaptation and new beginnings. this is a story of tying up loose ends. this is a story of development; of discovery and rediscovery. this is a story of learning to relax, of accepting your flaws, of facing your fears.

above all, this is a story of healing and recovery.

so obviously I had to focus on paranoid because COME ON he's the perfect pick. he's inevitably going to have to interact with everyone because of his job. so we get to see at least one moment with every single voice. he's also kind of unstable by himself, but he's gonna get at least a little better.

there's a truckload of character development. does that count as a spoiler? he learns that the world isn't out to get him, not anymore. that he doesn't have to be so on-guard and mistrustful all the time. and to fucking stop overthinking that much oh my lordy lord.

hero features pretty prominently in this. oh golly gee, I wonder why. totally not like they become boyfriends or anything of the sort. they totally don't learn to acknowledge their flaws through each other. that they might be more similar than they realise. that they don't have to be alone in navigating the overwhelming reality and endless expectations- okay, yeah, that totally never happens. /j

cheated does also feature quite a bit in here though, because he's the star patient. not because he's so cooperative, but because he's paid way too many visits to the infirmary and paranoid is very done. they have a kinda hilarious friendship. like "fuck. you're here again." just ranting back and forth about "god everyone else is so dumb, thank god I'm the only normal person here." (neither of them are normal.)

so if you like either of the above then yeah. nice.

also just because this is cosy fantasy and no one dies or anything, doesn't mean this is all sunshine and rainbows and 100 percent cruelty-free. far from it. for starters, I have made broken and smitten best friends and if you know how that one platonic smitbroken ficlet went then you will have an idea of how bad it can get. that won't be the only toxic relationship, or even friendship, up in here.

of course not. nightmare's roaming around somewhere in a fic where the mc is we-all-know-who.

and then there's the individual issues of everyone, left alone to fester. it's not just about paranoid. there's hero's guilt and remorse. cheated's bitterness and resignation. but there's still paranoid's overwhelming workload and ever-increasing stress. the fact that he has to deal with the traumas of both himself and his patients.

it's not going to be nice.

and there is at least one attempted suicide. spoiler: I haven't mentioned the perpetrator in this post just yet. wonder who he could be...guess lol. consider that my first warning.

like, I love psychological angst. no death or murder or downright destruction. just people left in the throes of their own worst qualities. that's my fucking speciality.

but we cannot have recovery if there is nothing to be saved from.

and another thing to take heed of: there obviously isn't going to be a lot of smut, but I'm a male writer. there will be women. there will be feminine characters.

so most of the time I'll probably end up fixating on Paranoid's large eyes and billowing hair and delicate features and slender frame and stuff. why? because wife. but sometimes the narration will veer into...uh, say, describing how buxom the Thorn is. consider that my second warning.

I started a multi chapter wip this year but everything on my ao3 is complete 🙂‍↕️.

4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?

In the last two months I feel like I’ve written a lot of things that I’m really proud of. Maybe it’s because I’ve gotten more comfortable with myself and I have a little more confidence or I’ve just genuinely improved who knows lol. But Am I making you feel sick? is probably my favorite. It was such a self indulgent fic that was just everything I look for in tamcien fics. I got to explore tamlin’s feelings on lucien’s betrayal whilst also making him very deliciously mean. And I was very experimental with the smut and just my writing voice in general. Most of all I just really enjoyed writing it; it all came so easy to me because I was really excited and passionate about the idea. I think I did a good job portraying the angst and it was just exactly what I had imagined in my head.

End of Beginning is also one I’m really proud of. There were a lot of big feelings with Lucien coming back to Autumn that I was definitely worried I wouldn’t do justice but I think i did!! It was well received too which soothed my worries lol. There was a bunch of scenery descriptions of the Autumn court that were fun to figure out and really challenged me. This fic definitely pushed my skills and it has a special place in my heart for sure.

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

Am I making you feel sick? and My Heart did A Thing for every different reasons. Am I making you feel sick?, like I said, was me trying out a new writing voice and experimenting a lot with smut. It was by far the most kinky and explicit thing I’d written and it’s definitely a lot 😅. Made me a lot more comfortable with writing smut though.

My Heart did A Thing was a challenge because it was so warm and fluffy. I’m not used to writing tamcien being all cute and romantic. It’s either angst or they wanna devour each other, no in between, so this was a change and I really enjoyed it which I wasnt expecting!! Writing the slow burn, their innocent crushes on one another, their first kiss—it was all very tender stuff that I wasn’t used to but I think I developed a liking for soft tamcien after it. Maybe i’ll stop torturing them so much lol.

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

Want By Proxy being my most well received fic is insane work to me even now. I remembered when it hit a 100 kudos I was just in disbelief 😭. I was not expecting people to be into this at ALL. It’s a lucien/azriel fic which is like the rarest of rare pairs and holy shit it exceeded my every expectation. Is it my best work? no I could probably execute it better now but I still enjoy rereading it and the love for it means everything.

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

I don’t check my stats so I wouldn’t know lol but my quietest fic is One Bloody Interview. A vampire tamcien au I wrote for lucienweek that’s just all biting and blood and everything 13y/o me would have adored as a vampire fanatic.

8. Who is an artist that inspired you

So many lovely artists in this fandom I could go on forever!! @geniemillies @copypastus @thrumbolt for carrying the pro tamlin side of the fandom. @works-of-heart @jennastokesart @dimalry have some of the most gorgeous art styles I’ve ever seen fr.

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

It’s still insane to me that I’m mutuals/friends with so many authors that I literally used to fangirl over before making this blog. @zenkindoflove @crazy-ache obviously I have to mention these two, act surprised. Literally got me back into my fanfic phase and it all just spiraled from there. @achaotichuman for starting my tamcien obsession no joke. Was feeding me on ao3 when there was a total of like 50 tamcien fics. @highlordofkrypton everything she does inspires me. I’m in awe of anything she does.

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

I’ve been slacking in reading fics lately but @olenvasynyt has me completely enamored with her Lucien backstory fic. If you’re not reading what are you doing!!

11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?

No, way too anxious for that 😅.

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

Honestly just sharing my work online is a really big deal for me. Even now, six months later, I’m still really weird about posting on ao3 like I just have a complex surrounding it😭. Sharing my work is very vulnerable and makes me very anxious, more than what’s necessary. The second I post my fics I just start hating them and I get this urge to delete everything and disappear for 3 months?? Sometimes I can’t even read comments bc I hate the idea of being perceived. It’s weird ik but I’m working on it. It’s why I’m really proud of myself for posting anyways and not letting that get to me or ruining writing for me.

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

So.freaking.much.

When I decided to start writing this summer I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Hell I still have no idea what I’m doing. I learned so much about writing this year and I still am and will continue to learn. But probably the biggest thing I learned was that it’s really difficult to be objective about your own writing and I think it’s especially harder when you’re very self critical and have confidence issues. I’ve learned that I need to be kinder to myself and that writing should be fun and something I enjoy and want to do. I’ve learned to stop thinking as my writing as something that will be seen by other ppl and more just something for me. I write because I enjoy seeing my ideas come to life and it’s something that fills my time and gives me purpose. I like having something to do, an end goal. Removing that pressure of posting and being perceived has made me a better writer. Yes I usually end up sharing my writing but a lot of the times when I’m writing, I genuinely have no interest in posting them; I’m just working on fics because I want to. For me.

14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?

Progress takes time. No one wants to hear it but it’s true. The more you write the better you’ll get and the easier it’ll be. Read books and other’s people’s works and write your own stuff. Don’t compare yourself to more seasoned authors when you’re still starting out, it’s simply not fair to you. Just enjoy what you’re writing and before you know it , you will be improving and getting better.

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

Write. Literally that’s it, I just want to write without the endless procrastination and self doubt. I just want to keep writing and improving and having fun.

first of all, I'm so sorry for not posting many fics these days, especially not the chapters I promised for goodbyes are bittersweet, but i've been struggling with my mental health a lot for the past few days and i felt like everything i wrote was absolute shit. however, i'm trying my best to update you as soon as i can! here are some of the things i'd like to talk to you about:
