What are your art inspirations?

Disclaimer: A LOT of RAMBLING

Honestly hard to answer, nowadays I don't really look at a lot of art anymore but mostly just movies.

Biggest inspiration over the years (from 2020 to 2022) would have to be Kan Liu. His painting style with mostly just the round brush and hard edges really spoke to me, especially when it came to lineart I was a massive fucking copycat lmao.

Around 2022 I also began falling in love with Sungmoo Heo. The perspectives and overall style just fucks so hard.

The most obvious inspo would have to be Seonhyeok Jeon though, who I still rip off blatantly.

In general I began taking art seriously around 2020, when I found Kan Liu, because I began training to compete in bodybuilding, which I did the next year. I began getting super interested in how the body and muscles work so I just drew those a fuck ton, and those anatomy studies ended up really helping my art skills in general.

Anyway! For animation... Hiroto Nagata and Q Kawa are big inspos.

This shit is so fucking RAW and HOLY SHIT when I look at how the perspective gets just in your face I always just think "what am I even doing man I have to PRACTICE". It's like watching a Zyzz or Ronny Coleman clip before doing a lift at the gym but for art, shit's motivational.

This cut in Ghost In the Shell as well is WOW, I think what speaks a lot to me is when an animation doesn't conform to what's standard in the medium and tries to push boundaries/be unique. Be it in this case through insane details, in the case of Mushoku Tensei through bg animation mixed with extreme foreshortening or just a crazy perspective and punchy movements in the Madoka clip.

Overall it's hard to say what else my inspirations are though. When it comes to manga and comics I can think of Batman Year One, The Climber by Shin-ichi Sakamoto, Ultra Heaven by Keichi Koike, Solo Leveling (big inspo in 2021) and Homunculus.

Also, even though everyone assumes it, I haven't played Cyberpunk 2077 or am that big a fan of the Blame! manga, I guess I just have a fairly similar artistic vision to both of those.

For animated fiction it'd be Spiderverse recently, Millennium Actress, Silent Voice and a million other anime I've forgotten the name of. Naoko Yamada's directing for Silent Voice or other anime like Hibike Euphonium and the Liz movie has always been amazing to me because she is able to express characters personalities through their body language, like they way they walk or stand, in a way I have never seen done before. Extremely recognizable and iconic style imo. A long time ago I used to be really into watching anime, but I don't care much for it anymore.

It's like that Ralph Waldo Emerson quote - “I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me.” I think throughout the years I've been so obsessed with all kinds of artists that I've taken in inspiration from everywhere. I cannot recall them all anymore, but they have made me the artist I am today.

Currently, like I said, I would consider movies to be my biggest inspiration because I find it interesting how cinematographers are able to stylize real life, which I'm trying to get closer to. If I could direct a movie, I would probably stop making art right then and there, but I'm not really working towards that goal anyway lmao. One day, being able to make a short film in animation would be something I would like to do though.

I'm not deep enough into the movie scene to get the street cred of being called an expert but I love them a lot. Fallen Angels made me fall in love with fisheye back then for example. Fight Club and The Batman have a grit to them visually that I find inspiring, and movies like Persona and Heat also come to mind when I think of movies I just love. I could look up my letterboxd for a more thorough answer but I feel I've already been writing way too long.

For video games, I guess you can imagine that I would say Signalis lmao. Besides that I can think of Subahibi (vn), Muramasa (vn), and Va-11 Hall-a for inspirations

Lastly, I guess huge inspirations are also a fuck ton of music. I mostly listen to either metal or hard techno, but I think I'll refrain from any more yapping.

I feel that this isn't really a great answer to the question, but it's the one I consider the most correct, because it's never as simple as just mentioning one artist. With a lot of these you wouldn't see a visual resemblence to my art, but in all of these I recognize a feeling that I also find in my own art.

hi everyone! I've gotten several requests to make a tutorial on how to make gifs for someone just starting out and I finally got around to slapping a tutorial together.

This tutorial will cover:

software recommendations

choosing what to gif

creating a gif step by step with probably a lot of unnecessary detail

some tips and tricks:)

(This particular tutorial will not cover how to find tv and movies to download and gif, or any specific instructions on coloring. only the basic gif making process.)

so for the purposes of this tutorial, we will be using Adobe Photoshop, which is the most common program for making gifs, and the one I recommend. the version you have doesn't make a major difference in terms of capabilities but the interface may be slightly different looking if you have an older version or a different type of device. you cannot make or edit gifs in any mobile version of the photoshop application. Optionally, we will also be using Adobe Premiere Rush/Pro or another video editing software of your choice. wherever you are downloading Photoshop, whether from Adobe or a third party, you should easily be able to acquire Premiere as well. I am aiming to be as detailed as possible in this tutorial, so it may sound more time consuming than it really is. once you get the hang of things, it goes fast. the most time consuming part by far is the editing and coloring. in my opinion, one thing that majorly saves time while giffing is knowing your keyboard shortcuts and using your mouse/trackpad as little as possible. I will be going over these in this tutorial as well.

before we begin, some general tips:

gifs of single shots that do not cut between angles or subjects generally will look the best, barring exceptions

for a single gif set, choosing scenes and shots with similar lighting will be easiest to get to look uniform when compiled together, since editing wildly different looking scenes to have similar coloring and lighting is hard and takes some practice!

avoid shots that will require you to majorly crop or zoom to properly frame the subject, as this will greatly diminish quality

speaking of quality, gifs will look best using 1080p video, but you can get away with 720p as well. I would not recommend giffing with anything lower resolution than that

Tumblr's upload capacity for image and gif files is 10mb. be sure when exporting your finished gif that it is under that size. if it is a bit over, you can try trimming a few frames off your gif in the video timeline.

if you get frustrated, don't give up! giffing is hard and complicated especially if you are new to photoshop. I tried to make this tutorial as detailed as possible so it's easy to understand (although im sure I still forgot some stuff)

ok onto the tutorial!!!

STEP ONE: choose what range of frames you want to gif, and how.

once you have decided what you want to gif, there are two main way to convert your episode into a range of frames to make into a gif. the first is by screencapping. this involves downloading a program like mplayer or vlc which can be used to convert video files into "stacks" of screencaps, which can then be separated into whatever range of frames you want and imported into photoshop. this is seemingly by far the most common method I have seen amongst gifmakers*, but personally I don't care for it and I think it's more confusing and time consuming overall, so I will be explaining the second method: importing video frames to layers.

now, normally what this would mean is opening the full episode in photoshop and using the pathetic little playheads on either end of the scrub bar to trim the file into a clip. this is where your video editing software comes into play.

open whatever episode or movie you want to gif in your program. if it is a large file like a long movie in 1080p, this may take a few seconds. like I said, I am using Premiere Rush. I will be using a random episode of 9-1-1 for my example gif.

in your media browser, hover over whichever episode you want (you can also just add the whole episode to your project and scrub through, but that can take longer unless you know what time stamp you're after). click the fullscreen button by the bottom righthand corner.

now you can scrub through and trim the episode before you even import it to premiere. this makes trimming your clip even easier.

use the trim bar (yellow outlines) to trim as close as you can around the scene you want to gif.

then click this plus, and then "add" below. this will add the clip to your project.

now, move the blue playhead up to the frame you want your gif to start on. then, use the scissors button off to the left to slice the clip. select the portion before the playhead, and delete it.

now move the playhead to where you want the gif to stop. a good length for most gifs is around 1.5-2 seconds in my opinion. some may be shorter depending on how long the shot is, or longer if you plan on making them smaller (remember, the uploading capacity on Tumblr is 10mb per file.) trim again, now delete the portion after the playhead. you can also use the left and right arrows beside the play button to move frame by frame, and you can adjust the side of the horizontal scroll bar below your clip to “zoom” in on it and make scrubbing easier.

once you have your clip, go up to where it says "share". your clip will be rendered, and then you can click export to save it.

repeat step one as many times as you want for each gif. I know this may sound complicated, but like I said above once you get in the rhythm this step takes only a few seconds.

STEP TWO: create your gif!

close premiere. open photoshop. head to the control bar at the top. select file > import > import video frames to layers.

navigate to whatever folder you exported your clip to. select it, and hit enter. a second popup will appear asking you to select your range of frames. since you have already trimmed your clip to your liking, simply hit enter a second time.

now your screen looks like this, and we are going to crop and resize our gif! (troubleshooting: if you do not see the timeline bar at the bottom, select window from the control bar, scroll down, and make sure timeline is selected as part of your workspace. Adjustments and layers should be there automatically but if not add them too).

Tumblr posts are 540px wide, so in order to make my gifs as small as possible while maintaining quality, I typically crop my gifs to be around 550-600px wide, with varying heights depending on what shape I want the gif to be. experiment with this a little and decide what works for you. just don't make the width lower than 540px. once you have the portion of the frame you want inside the cropping grid, hit enter again. sometimes you have to hit it twice.

here are the measurements I am using for this gif

now in your timeline, select frame 1. hold down the shift key and scroll to the end to select the very last frame, thereby highlighting them all. from here we will edit our frame delay rate. photoshop will automatically set it to .03s, which will make your finished gif awkwardly fast. I typically use .05s, or .06s if I want a gif to be subtly slower (this comes in handy if the shot you are trying to gif is very short). anything longer than .06s will look weird though. choose "other" from this menu and type in your delay rate. make sure not to miss the zero after the decimal.

once you've set your frame rate, go to the other end of your timeline and click here to convert your frames into a video timeline.

then press option + command + A (on Mac) or windows + alt + A (on PC) to select all layers. then right click (control + click with a trackpad) on any one of the highlighted layers in your layers tab off to the right. scroll down in the popup menu and select Convert to Smart Object.

THAT'S IT!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! WE HAVE GIF!!!

from here comes the fun part!! you will begin adding action filters like sharpening as well as adjustment layers to color and edit your gif. experiment with different adjustments and styles until you find something you like. too many adjustment layers will up the size of the finished gif though, so I tend to keep mine to 3-4 layers max unless its a really hard to color scene. if anyone is interested in a separate coloring tutorial, please let me know!

once you are finished editing your gif, click file > export > save for web (legacy) OR hit shift + option + command + S. play your gif in the export window to make sure it looks okay, and then hit save!

*one reason people seem to prefer screencapping to this method, is saving all the individual clips as video files does take up a lot of space on your scratch drive, which in turn can cause your computer to work slowly or crash programs. this can be rectified by making sure to delete the clips from your computer once you are done making the gifs. another space hoarder to look out for is the proxy files of your episodes that will be automatically saved to your hard drive whenever you add an episode to your project in Premiere. Periodically, go through your storage and delete all the .proxy video files. this will not delete the original episode files, only the proxy files created by Premiere.

Have you seen the movie gifted? It never fails to make me cry, Chris does so well in it and so does Makena god that girl knows how to act.

Honestly one of my favourite movies to date, father daughter duos are my fave. Chris acting as a parental figure is so sweet!! And who doesn't love a rough exterior guy who's good with kids.

It always loops me around to thinking about Steve having a kid dropped on him and having to navigate being a father, maybe a one night stand turned baby mama 9 months later who wants nothing to do with a baby.

Steve would be such a good dad too, I know he'd want the best for his kid. He'd have a big freak out initially and struggle but once he gets used to it a bit more he just loves it. He loves his kid and he knew that as soon as he laid eyes on the kid but now he actually has time to sit and just FEEL it. His little baby has his eyes and it makes him want to sit and cry.

One winter soldier saga later, Bucky is back and finds out Steve has a kid, maybe 2 or 3 at this point. Bucky is nervous staying with Steve while he's healing to begin with but with a kid in the house? No way. Steve manages to wrangle him to stay and Bucky and the baby actually form a little bit of a cute connection.

When Steve and Bucky find their romantic side again and Bucky is free from the hydra shit in his head, they really form their own little family. And god the domesticity of it all makes me want to cry and sob and cry. They'd both be such good dads and sooo protective, the best protected kid around I'm sure you can imagine.

I can totally see Steve and Bucky being the type of parents to be anxious messes when their baby starts school and their kid is as confident as ever, not even looking back as they run off to find friends.

Ragggh it just makes me wanna cry.

Oh, for sure, they're anxiety ridden parents. They both got to therapy ('cause god they need it), and they go to therapy together, and their therapist is constantly, gently reminding them that they shouldn't be so overprotective or helicoptering their kid(s). Like, sure, it's logical for the kid(s) of Captian America and The Winter Soldier, but it's only logical to a certain extent. Their baby needs to be able to have alone time and develop their own independence, too. They're teaching their kid(s) and learning themselves, too.

Hey, since you often catch details and seem like an open-minded person, I want to share what I observed in the last few days. So, I definitely believe in Jikook but that was not always the case. My bias is Jimin and I always mostly focused on him, but once I observed Jungkook more carefully, the truth revealed itself step by step. Now something similar happened since I focused on Taehyung. And it seems crazy, to me as well, but please give it a chance! Watch "Nippon TV BUZZ RHYTHM 02 - BTS Cut" timestamp: 13:55, and watch (and listen to) all of their expressions closely, especially Jikook and Taehyung. Keep an eye on Namjoon, too. Then please look at the lyrics of Sweet Night and really reflect on them. Just as a reminder, there is Taehyung calling Jimin his "one and only best friend" in "Let's BTS" and similarly in Festa 2019, for example. I also am stuck on Jin calling Taehyung very generous and big-hearted in "Special Movie BTS MUSIC JOURNEY" (after the release of Sweet Night) and the others agreeing, their expressions speaking once again. Then finally those compilations where Taekook is apparently jealous of each other. Or Vmin. And now you just have to connect the dots but I did not see any other person who has done so. All those moments, all those compilations make so much more sense to me. All in all, it seems that Taehyung has or had feelings for Jimin. Sounds crazy! Of course we should not assume too much but the connections are there and in hindsight, they seem obvious. You just have to put the puzzle pieces together. I really hope that Taehyung is over it, because unrequited love hurts badly. Taehyung as a person makes so much more sense to me. His actions, his depression, his pain... Well, I guess Jimin did not call himself "Tailor of Chaos" without reason. That situation must have been difficult for him, too. Maybe (just maybe) that is an indicator regarding his state in 2020... And of course on Jungkook. But maybe that is the actual reason why Jungkook and Taehyung seem to be closer now, maybe mending their friendship! Especially, since Taehyung found a partner. And maybe Jikook feel some kind of guilt for causing Taehyung pain... who knows. There is much to think about and honestly, it sounds like pure fanfiction but if I learned something in life, it is that nothing is impossible. So! Umm yes. I've seen this theory being thrown around. I have friends who think this might be the case. And one of them is actually really good at analysing and picking up cues and she believes V may have had feelings for Jimin at some point and her arguments make sense.

But for me... idk. Idk anon. 🤔 I have a hard time picturing this. I will share a clip that will be hard for some of you to watch. So brace yourselves

Things to note about the first clip: (I know... I know. It's bad. I recently just discovered it and it doesn't look good, I agree)

a) Point to note number one is that, that is how most people in SK feel about homosexuality. As u can hear V is basically telling Jimin something is wrong with him mentally for liking men. And when u grow up with everyone around u telling u this, of course u will believe it. It also explains why he would keep the company he keeps. (Go Google Bogum and his cult scandal) People in SK don't believe men can be with other men. And those who have seen it happen, think its a mental illness. This was obviously embedded in V for him to have done this not once, but twice. And this is only what we saw on camera.

b) 2nd point to note; Taekook just cannot be real. It's just, impossible. Yes, V has changed, obviously. Hanging out with Jimin will do that to you. He obviously doesn't feel as strongly about homosexuality like he used to. And he loves Jimin and JK which means he has adjusted his mentality. But, this is a guy who used to say basically homophobic stuff to his friend. And as u can see, that clip is from around May 2015 So at what point would V have started dating JK as early as 2013 when this is how he felt about his friend a boy, liking boys?

c) 3rd point to note; Jimin doesn't deny it. I hate how he's just defending himself there repeating over and over; I don't like you that way, so what's your issue? I dont behave that way towards you, why you mad? Anyway, Jimin doesn't once say "no i don't like men." Or "stop lying" he just says "I don't feel that way about you."

d) Last point to note, Jikook is real. Why? Because what triggered V, was Jimin telling JK to sit next to him. And immediately V goes off about how something is wrong with Jimin in the head because these days he likes men. Likes JK.

Now anon, let's go back to point number 2. I know internalised homophobia is a thing. (Thank you Shameless! You taught me sm!) But it stems from someone hating that they like someone of the same sex and they don't want to be that way, but they are. So saying V used to have a crush on Jimin insinuates he would have had to get over his homophobia and start seeing Jimin in a new light. I mean, it's Jimin and the Jimin effect is a thing that exists. But, still. Idk. I just don't know. Watching that clip tells me that his parents are like this. Him being so close with the WS, tells me he wouldn't have kept them as friends if at any one point he started liking someone of the same sex. Knowing how they feel about it.

V is more accepting now, of course. But Jikook are in the closet and only close knit people know about it. And V definitely isn't divulging that to the WS. Again, knowing how they feel about this topic.

What am I saying anon? I think those V jealous Vmin moments that exist are because he "lost" his bestfiend when Jikook became a thing. He had to share Jimin with JK. And I imagine Jimin tried to be there for both of them but sometimes JK took priority and maybe V didn't like that. They used to be bestfriends. Super close. V even looked after Jimin in school. Asked some people he knew to look after the new kid because that was his friend. They were close. Really close. Then satellite Jeon comes and changes everything.

Anon, if you ship Vmin, or are suspicious of Vmin, it would be easy to conclude this song is about Jimin. Easy. But if you're like me who believes V is as straight as a ruler, then the first thing I think of when I hear that, is some girl he liked at the time that he was really close to. Someone he dated in the past, maybe. To me V is as straight as they come and I could try, but I cannot see where you're coming from.

But if you listen to sweet night and then watch V jealous compilations, you're gonna be influenced. Because you're going in already thinking the best friend he's talking about is Jimin! But, remember, you don't have to have romantic feelings for someone to be jealous. You can be jealous that your sister is spending too much time with someone else. You can be jealous your bestfriend doesn't make time for you anymore ever since they started dating. You know what I mean?

Because Knockout is a Decepticon and if you have seen the clip he was going to mutilate Smokescreen, you know Knockout is a huge sadist and not like other medics.

Knockout will love learning about human anatomy and if he's a human. He would definitely kidnap tons of people just for his science project.

I can see he finds your job interesting, especially since you are an assassin. He also thinks you're kind of job is hot, he often watches those action movies where Assassin do many tricks.

He does think you are badass like those assassins in the movies. Knockout also gonna ask you about your job like what kind of weapon you use to kill people. How did you not get caught by the police yet?

Literally thinks if you are an assassin, you are wearing revealing clothing from the movie WHICH IS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. He would ask you if you wear those kinds of clothes and you had to explain not all assassins wear revealing clothes.

In his human form, sometimes would help you make those dangerous chemical liquids or poisons for you to use in case you need a weapon that cannot be discovered by the police.

Also sometimes helping you clean your choice of weapons and sanitise them from any fingerprints in case you forgot to wear your gloves after murdering someone.

Knockout might be a deception but he is definitely your biggest supporter if he knows that you are an assassin. Especially if you are an assassin that can hack into a system, definitely simping you like there is no tomorrow.

The sounds of the siren blaring in the night as there are tapes surrounding the room from the small apartment. Inside the room, there are two bodies laying on the floor one of them has foam coming out from the guy's mouth. The first victim is an old man with thick, light grey coloured hair that is styled back and a pair of thick eyebrows. 

The second victim was covered with her own blood with a bullet piercing through her abdomen and her chest. Breakdown is a lowkey sadist and not as sadist as Knockout. I know you would say I'm wrong because he likes to swing his hammer around and he likes to destroy stuff.

I'm saying this if he only gets the satisfaction of killing when using his hammer or with the action but operating humans and squashing them with his feet or mutilating them? He is disgusted.

He does think your job is cool too, like Knockout but he only gets interested in the action, like 'So...how do you kill your target? Do you use a knife or....use a gun?'

In his holoform (In the human version), definitely have a grabby hand and would try all of your weapons, even the smallest one and ask you how to use them.

Let him use the weapon but guide him. If you don't let him, definitely going to be super annoyed at you and then give you the silent treatment like a kid.

I can see he does watch those action movies where there is a cool assassin together with Knockout when he had his free time in there but unlike knockout. He's just interested in the method of the killer on how killing their target

Breakdown also would love to help you but instead in the background like Knockout. He would help you in action to kill another human.

Also helping you as he uses a disguise to lure the target with his holoform before so you had more time or a chance to kill the target and help you hide inside of him when he is in his alt form.

(Y/N) looks up at Breakdown's holoform before they/her/she places their/her/his arm around him and pulls Breakdown closer into your embrace. "Thanks, for helping me kill him, sweet spark. I will tell my boss that I did the job." "It was no problem, I'm just glad I can see you in action~" The corner of Breakdown's lips tugged upwards as he tightened his arms around you.

Hooo boy, good luck with having a bigger sadist as your romantic partner. Airachnid is much worse than Knockout and Breakdown so you had to be on your feet every second.

Airachnid definitely thinks your job is not only fascinating but also very useful for her cause. Especially if you are an assassin that can hack into any computer system.

Would often ask you for your help to hack into the Nemesis system when you had some free time or watch you stabbing your target with such fascination.

In her holoform or in her human form, she would definitely ask you if she can borrow the corpse that you just stab with like it was nothing before bringing the corpse into her lab.

Airachnid definitely going to run several tests and mutilate the corpse like it was nothing, she's not disturbed at all. Nope, it's actually you who got disturbed by her weird fetish with a dead body.

Well dating her as an assassin has also had its own perks despite it being really disturbing. She would definitely help you kill your target because of how silent she is as the target would get tortured in the most gruesome way in the action as she hides in the shadows as the target are unaware she is near.

Definitely lets you borrow her weapon when you need to kill someone and thinks it was hot as she watches you kill somebody else without mercy.

She definitely helps in the back and also in the action whenever you two need to kill a certain target. Tho, you cannot always trust her because she only helps you if you do what she wants in exchange.

On her servo, there are certain people with (E/C) eye colour and (H/C) hair colour grinning at their/her/his next victim. "Found you..." you said.

The forest was immediately surrounded by the sound of anguish from the certain old blonde woman and the ground was surrounded by the blood of the dying woman. One of Airachnid's small legs was coated with blood as Airachnid looked at you with a smug smile. "I killed her first, you're too late using your gun," she makes fun of you. "Yeah whatever congrats," you roll your eyes at your cybertronian girlfriend.

Firstly, I wanted to say I love your page and appreciate your honest perspective when it comes to BTS and jikook in particular. I am an “older” Army and can appreciate the viewpoint of someone who’s lived life a little and has seen many types of relationships. It’s very hard to not realize there’s something between JK and Jimin when you’ve seen examples of it time and time again in your own life or those around you. So thank you for making me feel less crazy!

I haven’t followed your page for very long and realize you may have touched on this in the past, but I was wondering what your thoughts are on this: Could V sometimes bringing up Jungkook/Jimin together or separately (usually Jungkook…let’s be real) and mentioning that they’ve hung out with him or seemingly being “encouraging” of a certain ship, possibly be his odd way of trying to distract from the real relationship he knows exists between jikook? Like in his own special Teahyung way be trying to help? For a long time, there has always been something that didn’t quite sit right with me when it came to V. I think it was his constant need for attention….don’t get me wrong, I love many things about him as well and know he can’t be very sweet and thoughtful and funny and endearing. I love them all very much. But am wondering what you think about V sounding like he sometimes encourages a taekook ship (ie, the last surprise live at JKs house or the live where he mentioned gaming with JK) because maybe in his own special way, he’s trying to protect? Now, I know both of these asks are kind of on the different sides of the spectrum, but I kind of felt like they can be answered together, because of the one communality, and that's, but of course, Tae THE MAN.

Also, before starting I need to say this is all my opinion. Take it or leave it.

I think I kinda talked about this here a bit too:

Let me just clarify what Tae shared in his IG story yesterday @nut 2019. It was a photo and a clip taken on the night after the movie premiere that JK and Tae went to, which was the 24-25 April 2023 - which as of today is 3 weeks ago. It's clearly that night and it's also clear it's not a date or an outing of the two alone, but a group outing with Tae and his friends (a couple from the Wooga squad and a couple I personally do not recognize). Yes, he posted it on Yellow day, but clearly has zero to do with that day.

I don't think Tae is encouraging the ship, but as an agent of chaos, he might be enjoying the aftermath of his handy work, maybe a little too much, lol.

Look, let's get serious here for a sec.

I love Tae to bits. I think it was even in one of the comments to the post I linked that someone mentioned thinking he's neuro divergent, and I was going "YES, FINALLY", because I've been saying this since forever. I'm no psychiatrist, so obviously I won't be handing out a diagnosis here, but, that said, his behavior, his quirkiness, his lack of understanding social queues and others emotions at times. The way he just says what pops to head, no matter if it has anything to do with the subject, and no matter what the consequences might be (take his 2015 radio interview fiasco literally outing JM on live air).

Tae is who he is. Always has been. And we all need to remember that the others all love him. All of them (including those we tend to champion). They might be frustrated with him at times. Angry with him. Might want to end him at times (from what JK spilled about the dumpling fight I kind of feel that was one of those times, lol), but you know, we all have those days with our loved ones too, so yeah.

In any case, whatever it may be, since the hiatus Tae has started to move in a certain recognized pattern that many Jikookers aren't happy with.

I understand the frustration that not only Jikookers have with him when it comes to that (and I'm saying that Tae stans are also feeling it). It feels like he lacks the energy to give to the fandom, interact with them, and maybe he feels that by dropping JK's name or posting a pic or clip with him he's making them happy (obviously aware of how much JK is loved), all while he obviously also is well aware of the chaos he's creating by doing so (claiming that he doesn't is a little naïve). It's kind of a minimum work maximum impact situation.

You are right @sweetbslm108 about Tae's mind being different to ours, it feels like his thought process is on a different parallel level. It's not by chance that JM called him his alien, lol. But saying that, I really don't think that this is his twisted way of going about protecting Jikook. I, personally, have no issues with him mentioning JK if it's part of the natural development of the conversation, kind of like he did during his live a few weeks back in the car. Doing so while talking about this and that, maybe also mentioning the others. They are good friends and clearly have gotten closer over the last few months (I'd say them being left for last and JM being MIA for JK did that), and it's natural they spend time together and it's great if he let's us know about it. But why only JK lately? That's what I keep asking myself, because he's not the only member he's in touch with or spent time with in the past few months. And coming live for a few minutes and dropping JK's name for what seems so purposeful, so much so that I've seen several Tae stans complaining about it. Because it doesn't feel natural. It doesn't feel like he's coming to talk to army or update them.

And I feel like it's ok to criticize him, criticize his behavior.

JK himself (there I go name dropping) said they are only human, which they are.

I keep saying it too, human beings with feelings and wants and needs, not 2 dimensional characters like many fans see them as.

And as such, they are not infallible. And they are definitely not beyond reproach.

And saying out loud, sounding said criticism, it doesn't make you a hater.

We criticize our loved ones, reprimand them when we feel they are doing wrong, and we do it out of love. So what's the difference here?

It should be part of the open discussion. Those who think it's wrong, those who don't, all respectful, no hate.

We might feel more of an emotional connection with some rather than others, but we love them all, each in their own way.

And if I wasn't clear about it, then that includes Tae, even if sometimes he does things that might be infuriating.

I will end this by saying that we are all different people, we come from different backgrounds, different places in the world, different professions or schooling, different upbringings, different cultures, different life experiences, just different. All those are our baselines. The things that make us who we are, what we think, what we do.

And being different, all gathering here, voicing our opinions, talking to each other, hearing each other out, that will, at the end of the day make us better people. I do believe that. Being able to listen to one another and at times allow ourselves to be convinced one way or another, that makes us better.

Bottom line:

Tae is an agent of chaos. We love him, even when said chaos he is causing can be infuriating (and the thing is, all he's doing is mentioning his friend or posting a pic of them together, but it's what transpires from that due to mainly I-army that irks us so much).

We are also allowed to call him out on it.

No hate. Period.

Before I start, I just want to say that I am NOT in agreement with religious extremist dogma, I do NOT sympathize with people who perpetuate these things and victimize ordinary people. I am only speaking about fictional characters in a fictional setting that is based on real life events. I would never wish to defend a radical of any kind, be they religious, political, etc. I would hope that people have the intelligence and nuance to understand the difference. This is not directed at you specifically, either. This is just a general CYA; don't come for my jugular because of my opinions on fictional characters.

That said… There is a difference between being a villain and doing villainous things. Idrees is intelligent and knows how to get what he wants; however, he lacks the emotional intelligence to see the bigger picture.

His bio states he would give up this entire life just for a scrap of feeling loved and wanted. Far be it from my fangirl ass to look too deeply into it and make my own headcanons, but that screams no emotional intelligence, doing this for personal gain without realizing the true extent of his actions. Note the look in his eyes, his silence as the realization of it all dawns on him during the climax of his character arc. Before this, he never truly thought about his actions. But he's thinking now.

The true villain of this story is not Idrees. It's the religious extremism, radicalization, insane dogma of the powers that be. Idrees is their vessel that helps keep people down because they promised him things that he could realistically never gain. It isn't until he almost kills Parvana and Shauzia does he realize that this isn't the life he wants. He's no murderer. He's not heartless.

But it's too late for him. He's carted off to war to be another cog in this rusty machine that would sooner crush him under the weight of its own greed than give him anything he was promised. Rather than freedom, acceptance, and belonging, he gets abuse, coercion, and death.

Is Idrees a villain? No. He's an antagonist. Not all antagonists are villains. And some antagonists, like Idrees, are misguided, hurt individuals doing what they can to survive. If you watch the movie closely, Idrees doesn't engage in any violence by himself. He never gets his hands dirty and gets other people to do the dirty work for him. I believe he's afraid, and is hiding under false bravado to pretend that he isn't. I also wonder sometimes why he didn't come back to harrass Parvana and her family after this. Remorse? Fear? Guilt? Who knows, but it's interesting he never persues her and possibly never interacts with her father again after the arrest.

Is Idrees a victim? Yes. He's been victimized by the very culture surrounding this ideology. Victimized by his family who cared not for him. Victimized by his uncle who didn't care about him, either (watch the brick'd clip again, his uncle is laughing in the background). Victimized by those in power promising this young man unobtainable things because they know they can use him to maintain power.

Does Idrees victimize other people? Yes. He victimizes Parvana by trying to use her to further his own religious beliefs, asking to marry her as he sees her not as a good wife but as a way to get into heaven. He victimizes Nurullah by sending him to the high security and horrific prison of Pul-e-Charkhi where the man is seen emaciated, filthy, and unresponsive. He victimizes Parvana's entire family by ensuring that their only way to survive, their father, is no longer in the picture.

Hurt people will always hurt people without proper introspection and control. Unfortunately, "He does not care whom and how he hurts along the way."

However in this case, Jotunn genetics force Loki's body to switch into his Jotunn form sporadically and without warning whenever he's feeling extra hot 👀. Mood swings, Heat irritability, and a lot of bickering (We're about to hit heatwave season here in Spain and it's a most fitting scenario for these upcoming months hehe)

First of all, thank you so much for reading my work. I'm very glad you've enjoyed it.

Wow, that is a neat idea! I don't think I've seen that particular take on Jotunn biology. I think you should definitely run with it and see where it goes. I'd be curious to read it when it's done.

As far as advice goes, mostly what I'm doing when I write fics is trying to align myself as close to "sounding" like the person I'm writing as possible. That comes from having watched Loki in the films and my short stint with his show and trying to emulate his beliefs, mannerisms, and speech patterns. It takes time and practice, but that's really how I do it. If I am struggling to get him to sound right, I take a break and bring up a clip where he's talking and then it usually gets me back on track. I do that with Bucky too.

During the story itself, I take it scene by scene and think "okay, here's a scenario, now how would he react to it?" and then I go from there. Naturally, it's fanfiction and so I can play around with what he'd do since we don't really have a full understanding of how he reacts to his romantic companions (I do not accept Sylki at all and I think it was written horribly, so I don't use it as an example) and we as readers are able to suspend our disbelief enough to enjoy some romance and smut. If you feel him doing something inauthentic, it just means that you're trying too hard to move the scenario or the plot forward, and that's fine. You just recalibrate and figure out which part of what you're writing might be slightly off and then adjust.

Both, very painful love triangles.

Both featuring Kings.

Movie Review...Mea Culpa

(1/5) What in the romance novel/soap opera did I just watch? Tyler has to be stopped. it is at critical levels at this point. This isn't the worst he has made, but now my question is, why doesn't it have to make sense? I said this in a review before but I think if he just takes some writing classes, has a writer's room/table or just studied his craft, he has the potential of creating better films.

The melodramatic tone and over the top-ness are better suited for soap operas than film. I don't think he understands that as a jack of all trades...writer and director. I don't watch any of his many shows, but from the clips and trailers that I have seen, they all share that same tone and storytelling.

At one point of the plot, this had the potential to be Perry's "Gone Girl." The mystery and suspense behind the missing girl was enough to keep me watching and interested. But in true Perry fashion, it shifts into lust driven narratives and obscurity. Like in past films before, it's almost like you can pinpoint in the story when he got tired of writing, ran out of ideas, or just wanted it to end.

I took several notes on issues with the plot, script and performances. I will try to condense that to some of the major issues. This is the part where spoilers will occur.

With women probably being Perry's largest audience, I am not sure how you all can stomach how he writes these female characters. The cliche damsel in distress, easily seduce by men and their other vices, should be stomach turning.

This movie could have and would have been over with very quickly if this was an actual real person. He was clearly being a creeper when he initially reached out for her counsel. The meetings in the loft instead of the office, the unprofessional conversations/flirting, among other things, just didn't add up as to why she would continue to represent him.

Another note I had about the film was with some of the characters. The mother in law was so out of pocket from the jump, and the twist at the end didn't ease that initial judgment. The private investigator/friend clearly had feelings for Kelly's character. Being hired to help with her current case, his only findings were about her husband. Each time she checked in with him, he never had anything helpful to say, or he was still looking into a lead, but in the meantime, let me drop this random information about your personal marriage issues. Could not find any helpful information about the missing girlfriend, but Kelly randomly finds her in a whole other country.

This is the part where I tapped out (the part in the plot where Tyler was tired of developing the story). The plot twist and conclusion all followed Perry's formula except for one change...The dark skinned man really wasn't the bad guy this time.

i have a lot to say to this and am unsure where to begin, so allow me to start here:

I had a hard year last year and can honestly say watching the Elvis movie in theaters, Austin’s great performance, and getting into Elvis helped me get through it. <- first and foremost, WITH ALL MY HEART, this is the point. this is what's important. that experience belongs to you, and it's BEAUTIFUL and meaningful, and there's nothing that can or should take that away from you. i am SO glad you had the film and austin's stunning performance, and then discovering more in e himself to help you. the value in that is unbelievably special, and it's unique in all of us who discover that solace in art and hold onto it in our own ways. the film has come to mean more to me than i can express in silly little posts here, and i haven't had that for a long time.

i'm so sorry you were having a hard time, i understand in my own way. i didn't expect to even make it through last year myself. there is a particular depth of connection and some measure of healing that came with this that i can't explain except to say it exists on some spiritual level. idk if you were here when i wrote a post on the night of the grammys, but there's a significant part of myself that i'd been without for a long time, and maybe didn't even fully know was missing, that e almost immediately set back. as if that broken piece of stained glass mosaic was there, but had been knocked out of place, and when it was restored, the picture was more whole again, and i could breathe a bit easier. like a bridge over troubled water. you don't know what's lost 'til you find it! i sincerely hope that you're doing better now <333

i don't know where exactly you're reading negative comments, maybe i've just been very fortunate to avoid them since i've encountered them so rarely and block the few i've seen immediately (and anyone who has anything negative to say about aus is deranged on some level, when he's unequivocally humble and kind in every interaction he has. the only things i've seen about him are inane voice comments, and not only is that not funny, and was never funny, it's also clear anyone who thinks that has never listened to a clip of elvis speaking for two seconds in their life, as they sound nothing alike! i hate that something which should only have been joyful and made him feel proud has made him self-conscious because the media can't ignore trolls on the internet. austin is such a genuine soul). regarding elvis himself, he was certainly a complex human being, but he was unquestionably a GOOD one. it takes so little time to discover exactly who he was and all that he stood for, all he did.

it's like i read a story yesterday about how, when he performed at the houston astrodome, the owner told him he didn't want black people onstage and to leave the sweet inspirations behind, and elvis was like, absolutely not, they're included or i walk, period. and then he had had them driven in a car around the arena so that everyone could see them. it's such a typical story for him (standing up for people he loved and what he believed in with a delightful dose of king shit defiant behavior). it's why it's so easy to dispel ANY claim of racism because he was distinctly anything but, and there are countless stories recounting why.

the thing about elvis is, he had this...all-encompassing need for connection and understanding, and there was some part of him always seeking that. be that spiritually, and in his deep faith and interest in many avenues of philosophical study/thought, or in his approach to love of any kind. he didn't want to be just one thing to people, he wanted to, in some way, be everything. which maybe is too much for anyone to strive towards, but it was in his essence. chelsea also recently told me elvis was very interested in all the different definitions of love - the greek words, storge, philia, eros, agape, etc, and i personally feel a strong connection to that because that's always captivated me too, not merely the differences, but the way they inform each other. how we express love in this world.

el having a temper or making some mistakes in his life does not negate the artistry he possessed, nor, on a much more personal level, the amount of good he did and heart and soul he shared with people. loved ones, family, romances, fans, he had this boundless sense of love.

which brings me to us. i mean it when i say i believe it would mean everything to him if he knew how many new people, ESPECIALLY young people, are discovering him and embracing him and remembering him.

going to quote chelsea again: "it's like the people who find him are the good ones, you know? the thoughtful, loyal, interesting ones who see him as a full person. which is all he ever wanted."

i believe, without question, that he would love us so much. i believe he was meant for us to find him. i believe it would touch his soul to know he's had an impact on us, or helped us make it through, or healed something in us in any way. that would be worth everything to him. and he's so alive in our hearts, and i know he's going to stay there. that's what has the meaning, that's what remains.

I am 5'5", trans!masculine (i also identify as nonbinary and a demiboy) and i use he/they pronouns (dysphoria sucks..) I am pansexual but sometimes i have a preference towards men. My personality type is INFP and I dislike any form of social interactions, avoiding them the best i can. I can sit down and work on something for hours at a time and forget to do things such as eating or brushing my teeth before i go to bed but i also have trouble sitting down and working on other things such as homework. I would say physical affection is definitely confusing with me, one minute i could be wanting affection and to be held or to hold someone but the next minute i don't want to be touched at all. I am have pretty bad sensory issues😶 My love languages are Physical Affection, Words of Affirmation, and Acts of Service. I love drawing and listening to music along with making music myself (via singing, playing piano, playing guitar, etc.) I act differently around certain people, if it's a close friend i will most likely show my true emotions. If it's just a friend i might mask my emotions slightly. If it's not a friend, i don't show any emotions that relate to how i actually feel. I have really dark humor and an example was how i was watching an anime episode and one of the characters was referring to a dead character and said "Look, it's a dead person." And i started crying of laughter. As for anything that can relate to ✨insecurities✨i hate how i look, my hair is fine but i have been told i have a very round and baby-looking face, which i hate. I also hate how small my hands are, i am constantly reminded that they are small and it makes me very insecure to the point where i often walk with my hands in my pockets. I wear glasses since i am V E R Y farsighted and since i am a nerd for my own favorite topics i am often told i look like the nerd emoji (this one:🤓). I’ve read enough about him and seen some clips which I think I can grasp a bit of his personality, also idk what truly happens at the end of the movie but I’m guessing the turtles defeated the kraang and Casey now lives with them lol - if not, that’s what happens on this scenario!!!! anyways !!! Casey has a really hard time fitting in, since being raised on a apocalyptic scenario, understanding new social cues on a “regular” / normal time line is really difficult, he finds he can be himself around you quite easily, and he tries his best to show you can also count on him whenever you want

He will remind you to take breaks when you hyper focus on whichever task you have in hand, he might even join in sometimes or ask if he can watch you work! (He finds your concentration face really cute) but yeah breaks are a must, he doesn’t want to see you overwork yourself

Also talking about our face: doesn’t matter how much you trash talk about it, he doesn’t agree with it, and he won’t stand it, at first he might be a bit taken back to make comments about it, but during the kraang invasion, those little sweet moments of admiring someone’s facetasse absolutely out of the picture, you just didn’t had the privilege or time for these kind of things, Casey has learned that you features brang peace to him, he caught himself thinking about each and every curve of your face, so no, he doesn’t agree with it. but you bet he will snort/laugh when you tell him about the 🤓 emoji analogy, it’s his favorite emoji now, loves it dearly

If the guys (turtle) ever tease about your body being “tiny” compared to theirs, Casey will step up to defend you, he’s not really the one for confrontation regarding the turtles; but he def has a soft spot for you, if you are ever having a difficult day with dysphoria, Casey will def try his best to help you in any way he can, you have become incredibly important to him and even if he gets shy, he will show it, Casey has lost too much way too soon, if there’s something he treasures it, he will go far and beyond to keep it in his reach

ok I've put some thought into it.

What I think would belong in a Ratatouille Sequel, in my personal and biased opinion:

Linguini and Colette would be a step further into their relationship.

This really depends on how much time has passed (I think it would have to be a year) but based on how close they were after they started dating and in the epilogue portion of the movie, it would make complete sense for them to be making a "next step." I don't know if this means moving in together, marriage, or maybe even like having a child, but it wouldn't make sense if that wasn't a thing that happened.

2. The whole Remy doing FSL (French Sign Language) thing.

I already talked about this a little in the last post, but Remy needs to have better communication with the characters. I believe that he would also start learning how to write.

3. There would be some kind of "soup" scene

you know the scene from the first movie where Remy makes that first soup and the vibes are just off the chart? This would be necessary in a sequel. But it would need buildup. I imagine that the events of the movie cause Remy to lose track of the *true* meaning of cooking, where he finds himself obsessed and not enjoying it the craft. Then, he turns to a pot, and stops for second, before becoming completely lost in cooking. It would be a beautiful scene, a wonderful moment, and the best damn soup the world had ever tasted.

4. Most importantly, Remy would get very politicly active about speaking out for rat-kind.

There is no way you can tell me that Remy would be ok with hiding in the restaurant without anyone in the outside world knowing he was making the food. I think this is one of the more commonly forgotton plot points, but Remy was obsessed with making a change, not only for himself, but for all rats.

He always wanted a better life for himself and his family, and was ready to fight for it, which is exactly what he did. Of course, it didn't seem that Remy accomplished this goal to the fullest. Sure, he got a small rat cafe running so that his family could eat good food, but that doesn't solve the whole rat = kill issue.

And the second piece. Remy does not sit well without getting recognized for his talent. That much was obvious when he almost outed Linguini when he was interviewed by the press. He got jealous, and angry when Linguini took credit, even if it was to protect him.

With both of these combined, I firmly believe that this concept would take the main story. Remy would want to be public, and he would take every chance he got to speak his truth. In a way, this attitude can already be seen in the short, Your Friend the Rat (its really cute I recommend watching it if you can). Not even 20 seconds in, and he's already on a roll. I couldn't find the clip but heres the dialogue.

Remy: Hello, I'm Remy, and this is my brother Emile.

Emile: (waves) Hi.

Remy: We're here to speak out on behalf of oppressed rats everywhere.

Emile: (groans) Oh man.

Remy: Rats who don't have the access to media that our movie affords us.

Emile: We're speaking out?

Remy: Yes, we have to. (slams paw into other) We rats need to take a stand.

The other rats may not be completely with him on it, but we already know that other's disapproval never stopped Remy before.

I feel that its important to note that I am not asking for there to be a Ratatouille sequel. The original is a masterpiece and I'd honestly be scared of Disney ruining any attempt at a second movie. That is to say, if they did ever make one, you can absolutely trust that I will be in the theatre watching it on opening night.

EXCERPTS FROM SEBASTIAN STANS JOURNAL

EVIDENCE FOR RUSSO TRIAL

JOURNAL ENTRY ONE:

Things have sort've gotten weird, but I'm gonna have to start at the beginning for it all to make more sense. See, the movie is supposed to be about a HYDRA facility that's testing children by putting them into different scenarios. As Bucky Barnes, I'm helping that. The boss lady's real name is some actress I've never heard of, I can honestly barely remember her name now. I think it's like Della Reyes. But her movie name is Tempus.

So since there's supposed to be a love connection between one of the characters and Bucky Barnes, Tempus told me that Anthony said I could choose who the main character got to be. Which is cool and all, unusual, but I think it'll make everything easier. I chose the brown haired girl from the top block. She's 23 according to the bio, but in the movie will be 17.

So the first day I met her, the looks were a bit different from the picture. The nose clip was a bit weird and she seemed to hate it, messing with it a lot so I assumed it as a prop they'd given her. The whole outfit seemed to make her uncomfortable and I wondered why she would wear it then.

Anyways, I was also told all of her lines were improv and that I could improv most of my lines as well. I asked her what her name was. In return, she asked what my name was. I wasn't supposed to answer questions not asked by someone who controls the Winter Soldier. So I didn't answer. Neither did she. I guess she's going for a cheeky sort of character.

In one of the scenes, I am supposed to 'accidentally' eavesdrop on the kitchen which I did. And that's how I alerted my new ward not to eat the eggs which were 'poisoned'.

By the third day, I told her my name was Sebastian. I was supposed to give her a fake name and I thought Sebastian would be a cool Easter egg. I was never told to do the scene again, so I guess they liked it too.

But now, things are weird. I've been watching. Either the kids are really amazing actors, or they really are depressed. I can only imagine though that they are great actors. Or maybe they're all miserable about something else.

I don't know.

JOURANL EXCERPT TWO:

I've been watching. All of the kids that ate the eggs have suddenly disappeared. I thought they would have 'died' in the games, but that's another weird thing. None of these kid actors are staying in the actors lounge, which is the top floor. I haven't seen any of them.

Tempus says that they're sending them home when their scenes are done. I guess that's fine then. But it would've been cool to meet some of them. I always loved meeting kids that were fans.

Anyways, continuing from the last entry. In the last game, one of the girls playing the killer of the game did a stunt to kill herself. I guess it was in the plot somewhere. I never read anything about the other scenes. Only my own.

Ever since that event, they've been kept in their rooms for three more days. When I took my ward- who says her name is Y/N- back up to her 'cell', she was shaking. It was strange, but then I realized they were probably still recording this scene.

Of course I left after I put her in her room.

But when I was walking through all of the hallways that night because the time difference was still screwing with my schedule, I could hear her screaming into her pillows like she had nightmares.

I told myself she was doing another scene.

But now, I'm not so sure.

JOURNAL EXCERPT THREE:

I had to take Y/N to the showers today as per the script. I was supposed to wait in the room and she would pretend to take a shower as to create sexual tension between the two of us for the plot.

Normally, what happens in this scene is they pull a curtain between the two of us and I would only be able to see the silhouette of her body.

There was no curtain.

I still followed through with my lines, telling her to go ahead. She glared at me, before she actually walked into the shower and showered with her clothes on. It was weird, like it wasn't actually supposed to be part of the script.

After she got out of the shower, I commented that she was going to get a cold. I guess I was just trying to keep the script going, the improv, but I think I really was worried about her health.

She said something about not showering naked in front of me and I said I would've turned around if she had asked. She said I never answered her questions- which was true per my character. I told her I told her my name and she said it could've been fake- which is true.

I asked how old she was and she asked the question right back at me, the way I knew she was going to. I told her 32 and she didn't answer at first. I teased her about that and she was very serious when she said 19.

That confused me just a bit. 'Cause her script said she was 23 and her movie age was supposed to be 17.

Then she went on. Told me how she graduated, how she was going to go to some college I'd never heard of before and become a doctor of sorts. Then she seemed to break the fourth wall, telling me her parents were going to celebrate by taking her to see the new Marvel movie.

That Dr. Strange and Iron Man were her favorite characters and how she'd never seen any of the Captain America movies.

It was so confusing. I wasn't entirely sure now when we were being recorded for the scenes and when we weren't. Apparently, there was camera crews behind the scenes so that everything was more 'authentic.'

She asked me to take her back to her room when she was crying. I've never seen someone cry so realistically before. Usually they're trying not to laugh or smile.

I'm starting to rethink everything.

I brought her down to the dining room. I waited in my usual spot.

One of the boys got impatient and touched the food when I guess they weren't supposed to. I was surprised that the effect seemed to be on him. The white lightning around his body.

Some of the children screamed, some fell of their chairs. But my eyes sought out Y/N. She had her eyes closed, crying. She had told me how much she loved life in general, how much these children 'dying' meant to her.

Except now I don't think I should be putting these 'marks' around the words. Because I think they really are dying.

I could smell the burning flesh of the dead boy.

JOURNAL ENTRY FOUR:

Y/N yelled at Tempus after more children died. Looking around, none of the other guards seemed fazed but me. Then again, I hadn't recognized a single person here. Not one. I thought Frank Gillo might've been here, cause Rumlow was a pretty big part of HYDRA, but so far I hadn't seen him.

Tempus told the children they could eat now, but when several of the children reached out, they toppled out of their chairs in electric sparks too.

I felt absolutely sick. Unless I was misunderstanding things, about six children had just died in front of me. I know understood why Y/N was so angry with me. I really was letting children die.

Y/N stood up, her chair toppling backwards. "I've found I'm not hungry anymore." She had said and then went to storm out of the room. I caught up with her, trying to stay in character though my head was spinning. I couldn't get caught. I had to contact the others, had to let them know to send for the police. Had to get these children out of here without myself ending up dead. I was the only adult here who seemed to care. I was the only one that could save these children.

Tempus told me to take her to the arena, to put her inside the minigame. I told her I would and took Y/N there.

I did my best to stay in character, telling her she was a depressing character with no optimism. I wanted to see how she would react.

She slapped me across the face. The sting of the impact hurt. I had never actually been slapped so hard- except on accident. She really wasn't acting.

I can remember her words, word for word as she berated me for calling her a character:

"Character?" She asked quietly. "Is this some sort of book to you? A movie? A game? I'm sorry if I'm not optimistic. Maybe you're blind, but your boss back there just killed a bunch of kids because she could. For no reason. I guess the games weren't progressing far enough. So sorry if I'm depressed. I just realized I'm not going to see my family again. Sorry about being depressed though. Sorry for not being more optimistic. I'll try and make it more exciting for you next time."

I didn't blame her.

Tempus eventually came in and told me to leave. I did.

I watched the entire thing on the screen, wondering if the monsters were real. I wondered if the wolves were really wolves, or just well trained dogs.

When she cut off her own pinky I threw up. I was shaking when I had to take her back to her room. When I had to address the poorly amputated pinky myself.

I tried to pretend I had no idea what had happened. My hands were trembling as I wrapped the bleeding stump.

I didn't even hear half the words she was saying, though I was sure she was saying something about me being afraid of some blood while I killed people. I had never killed anyone in my life. Sure, Bucky had, but that wasn't real.

It wasn't supposed to be real.

I told her I'd get her more blankets and make sure a doctor took care of it.

I went to Tempus and demanded it, pretending to demand it as the winter soldier slowly falling in love with the charge. I got the blanket and was told a doctor would see her in the morning.

I asked how it happened.

"An accident, unfortunately." Tempus had said, feigning sympathy. "I'll have to file a report with the boss of course. The door just snapped it right off."

I just winced in sympathy and then told her to make sure a doctor would check it out so it didn't get infected.

I went to find my phone later, so that I could contact Chris or Robert or Benedict or Tom, but found it was missing. That made my blood run cold. I wondered where my phone was. I'm guessing its been taken, so I'm starting to carry this journal around with me. I'll have to if I don't want them to find it.

JOURNAL ENTRY FIVE:

I paid attention during the games more than I ever did. I'm noticing that the special effects seem to happen right away, which has never happened in any movie I've ever made before. Usually, the special effects are afterwards.

It really is real.

I'm paying close attention to Y/N. I need to keep her alive. I've come to care for her so much, more than just a friend. I think I might actually be in danger of falling in love with her, now that everything is real.

She spent almost an hour looking for everyone, looking completely dejected.

Tempus told me to get ready for my next scene, and I climbed up the ladder into a very small room. I could see through the wall- which was like a two way mirror. I could hear the same sounds as a girl came around the corner. She was making the same sounds as those in the maze Y/N had to go through.

When Y/N heard them, she panicked, the hammer colliding with what she probably thought was a monster.

When she saw she hit the ground, she panicked, cradling the girls body in her arms, sobbing. My heart went out to her, as I tried to keep my eyes off of the dead girl. I wasn't prepared for this stuff. It was all supposed to be fake. It wasn't supposed to be real.

I was an actor. I dealt with fake death, fake love, fake everything. Not this.

The lights went out and I knew that was my cue. I slid the panel to the left and pulled her in. She was hyperventilating, an overwhelming stench of blood flowing to my nostrils.

I tried to remember my lines. I thought if I could just keep in line with the script, I could get through this. I could help her get through this.

Y/N couldn't breathe.

I kissed her.

I hadn't meant to. It was to early in the script. But it just happened and I couldn't regret it. She clutched at me desperately, trying to hold onto something. I think it really helped, because she was calmer when I pulled away.

I told her she needed to take the girl to the tank and everything would be okay. I told her to survive for me, and her friends.

She went off again and I climbed back down the ladder. Tempus was there. She nodded to me, "A bit early, but I think the viewers will appreciate it."

I excused myself to the bathroom to throw up.

Maybe this is all a huge nightmare and I'll wake up back in my house with Margarita and Betty, the woman on one side and the dog on the other. She'll ask me what's wrong in Russian first because she's half-asleep, and then wake up a little more and ask me the question again in English.

But I know in reality it's not. I wonder if she's worried that it's been almost a week or so since she's heard from me.

I still can't feel guilty about the kiss, even though I now know everything is real.

I made it back to the room to watch Y/N. I'm still telling myself that I'm only invested in her survival because she's just a kid. They're all just kids.

I don't know if I believe my words or not.

A boy just smashed her knee to pieces with the hammer before Tempus automatically killed him for breaking the rules.

I watched her struggle as she figured out a way to continue the game. How she kept pushing herself, fighting, collapsing, and getting up again.

I had to hand it to her- she was strong.

She finally found a wheelchair. She used it for as much as she could before she had to get on her feet again.

The players rushed through the doors, winning the game. Y/N finally collapsed out of the door too.

I rushed over to her, picking her up in my arms.

Tempus told me to take her to Doctor List.

The name didn't ring a bell with me until I got there. I nearly let his real name slip off my tongue, but we both stayed in character.

He left the room once and came back with a second doctor and then came back out to talk to me, "How'd she break her knee?"

"A boy smashed it." I muttered. "Henry, this is real. All of it. Have you realized that?"

Henry looked around and nodded slightly. "I have. I leave tomorrow. I'll alert them."

"Good." Was all I could say before I was able to take Y/N back to her room.

She needed help getting into her pajamas. I did, though I felt embarrassed of course.

JOURNAL ENTRY SIX:

I feel sick. Tempus just told me they're doing another improv scene: A rape. Y/N versus the doctor. Not Henry, he already left. But the real doctor. She said I could wait and then I would save her and it would continue the love interest between the two of us.

I don't know if I can even go through it. After everything that's happened in this place, I can only imagine that if I weren't to break into the room it might actually happen.

I can't let it happen.

WEEK 7 - Wrap Up

MILK THE CLOCK STRATEGY

Special shout out to Keely Scott for forwarding this clip to me this weekend. Yes, at first I admit I was a bit confused and bothered by this coach and his actions. Then i watched it several more times and I became okay with it. Bottom line...teams have signals and just because this coach happens to be a man, and he is trying to milk himself to send a message that the team needs to slow the pace of the game (milk the clock) ...I don't think he needs to be apologizing to the American public. We have all seen the movie Meet the Parents and know that you can milk anything with nipples. Facts. Gotta love college football!

LANAKILA vs TREE HUGGERS

And just like that...the winning streak is over for Mr. Krippayne. It came when he was matched up against our current champion, Cliff Young and his marquee player Patrick Mahomes. Scott had an amazing run and now is tied with Cliff and Bebo who are also at 6-1. Scott is still in a great position 1/2 way through the season but, it does show that he is a human and just as he won his first 6 in a row, it is possible that he could lose the next 6. So, congrats to Cliff for exposing Scott and inspiring all of us to take on the giants of the league (not the new york giants of course).

FUNK GUY vs BACKDOOR BANDITS

And just like that...Dana's 4 game losing streak has come to an end! With a fantastic week...putting up 118 points, 16 of those from the Giants Defense...he was able to take down Kyle. Kyle is on a rough road for himself this season. This is now 3 losses in a row for him and puts him at very depressing 1-6 record. Kyle is usually pretty good at this game...so it's surprising that he left 23.50 points on his bench by not playing Josh Downs...especially when Jameson Williams for the Lions put up 0 points. That's a big swing. Nice win Dana! Congrats!

TuPADRE vs LONG LEFT BALLERS

I am so confused. Bebo is 6-1 while Gully is 1-6. I know I have mentioned a few times in the wrap ups, that this season for Gully has been branded - Andy & Son. They drafted together...they sat on the couch scheming and plotting, sometimes even laughing at all of us...and I just keep going back to the fact that we have never seen Gully do this poorly at Fantasy Football...is it the kid? Or has he just lost his touch? Poor draft? You know - If I am honest, I just don't care. That's for him and his son to figure out! Congrats Bebo...keep doing what you are doing!

MOOSES ON THE LOOSES vs MR AWESOME

So, this was a close one. Mitch ended up taking down Mr Awesome by just over 2 points. That means if Geno doesn't throw and INT and Eagles get 1 more sack, then boom...we are talking about how great Gabe is and how he is now on a winning streak. But, instead we are having to say that Mitch is hanging in there and continues to be a threat. Everyone, listen to me! Listen closely! When you match up against The Moose...take this shit seriously. We don't need this guy hanging around and making the playoffs. He's a dangerous individual. You don't want him playing week 14, 15 and 16. You have been warned.

MALIK MY BALLS vs TRADE WITH ME

Gotcha Brett. I have to admit - after the early Sunday games I was a bit worried. Cook with 16, Waller with 15, then Gibbs kept putting up points and ended up with 18 and then Koo kicked that winning field goal to make it 13 for your kicker...but then the afternoon came. Lions 2, Ekeler 4, Watson 2 and throw in the Thursday Ridley play of less that 1 point...and boom...victory! And it looks like I will grab the high point again this week! Not to brag or toot my own horn but "LET'S GO!!!!!" Thanks for a relaxing Monday night!

HOWARD vs BOOMER SOONER

And on this one...we wait. Yes Rob Howard is up 94 to 31 and still has Mattison to play but Stu has Addison, Hockenson, Akers and 49ers Defense...so we wait and watch on MNF. Predictor says Howard wins 104 to 79...but we will wait. Stu was on a great path to winning and then Addison went out...and the 49ers Defense just kept failing. Add to it - Purdy INTs and boom...Howard holds the lead and grabs the win. Sorry Stu...nice win Rob!

SURVIVOR

And it's over for Rob Howard. The Bills go down to the Patriots so we are now left with Scott, Mitch and Gully going into week 8.

I know...I know...we have moved on from Minka Kelly but I won high point and I miss her. She is the ultimate cheerleader anyway so she wins this week!
