my headcanons about the weasley-wood family but i try to make them coherent
(side note - if you want more info about the oc kids i gave them in this fic, you can find said info here. there will be some inconsistencies, because i've changed some info about the weasley-wood family story since then, but most info is the same.)
percy never wanted kids as a child growing up in a family with (in his opinion) far too many kids.
oliver and percy got together in fourth year, so while oliver had had a few thoughts that it would be nice to have a big family he could play quidditch with, he didn't really think much about a future where that could actually happen.
after the war, they both took a different perspective on this issue after the war orphans fund was introduced and harry was all over it.
it started with them fostering kids. they took care of a few different children. only children and groups of siblings, infants and toddlers, etc. but then they met lucy and her half brother.
lucy was two, but her infant brother was too young to have a name by the time he and lucy's parents were killed. because they felt weird just calling him the baby or lucy's brother, they nicknamed him skye after where oliver grew up.
this is really when they got attached, because how are they supposed to let go of lucy and skye after this? after giving skye a name and lucy her first broom? (yes, she was only two, but this is oliver wood we're talking about, so who's really surprised? at least percy was able to talk oliver into not letting her fly alone.)
a year after they officially adopt lucy and skye, they decide they want another kid. (it's for the charity. they're doing it for the charity.) this is how katie comes into the picture.
katie has dark hair and dark eyes and olive skin and doesn't look anything like her siblings or percy and oliver (lucy and skye, who have blonde hair and blue eyes and brown hair and green eyes respectively, both look like they could be biologically related to their parents). and this changes absolutely nothing.
katie and lucy both love quidditch - lucy lives and breathes it just like oliver does - and yet they are both truly, undeniably like percy.
katie is the one people always talk about. the girl who's most like him all the time, even though he doesn't see it (or, at least, pretends not to). the girl everyone bets will be in slytherin because she's too alike percy to be in any house other than the one he was in. she's even ultra powerful like he and oliver (and marcus and penelope) are.
lucy, meanwhile, is the daughter most people don't realize is like percy because she's so unlike him outside of home. it's not like she isn't herself outside the house, but she's much more outgoing. much more energetic and ready to pull pranks, because why be anything less when there's so much of the world to see?
but at home, everything is familiar. there's nothing new to see when she knows it like the back of her hand, and she can be calm and run on the beach and overturn rocks in search of crabs without feeling the want (or need) to put on a show. and there, at home, in her element, she's so much like percy that sometimes, he has to look away.
percy and oliver were 1/2 of the golden era marauders, and now lucy is 1/4 of the next gen marauders. percy is secretly very proud of this.
skye doesn't like quidditch, and doesn't really like talking to people at all, but he's painfully similar to oliver. almost weirdly so.
skye is a hufflepuff, but - like lucy - he was a hatstall, and like lucy, he was almost put into gryffindor. he doesn't really even understand quidditch, but he spends hours in the library pouring over strategies when his friends or sisters need him to.
skye is the one who looks like he could really be oliver's son, because even though he has green eyes and oliver has brown, their hair is the exact same shade and texture. skye is the one who gravitates to oliver's side while lucy goes to percy's, because while he loves both his parents, we look for people who are like us, don't we?
but there are also moments when skye and percy sit together reading while oliver, lucy, and katie fly above the beach. there are afternoons where oliver and lucy bake together while percy, skye, and katie play board games in the living room.
there are moments when the five of them fly together, skye clinging onto lucy from the back of her broom, because while she's the one who aimed her bludgers at him when they were little, he doesn't feel safe being off the ground with anybody else.
there are long nights when percy and oliver aren't home, out with friends or on a date, when lucy gathers skye and katie into her room and they set up beds on the floor so they can stargaze through the skylight.
all in all, their family might be different, but it's a family, and i think that's pretty cool.

Girlgriend hermione/sirius are my OTPPP
Hermione grew up in the Marauders-era
17 September 1977
Not one for patience, Sirius found himself seeking Hermione out only a few days later.
Saturday morning found her tucked in an armchair with a mug of steaming hot chocolate and a large, open book in her lap. He flopped down in the couch closest to her and leaned over her mug. “Steal away to the kitchens then?”
“The house elves can be quite accommodating when I’m not trying to liberate them against their will.” She snorted. “Not that I’m going to stop pushing for wages and criminal charges for abuse of creatures.”
“Your bleeding heart sounds ambitious.” Sirius stole her mug and took a gulp of perfectly warm hot chocolate. “Kreacher, the Black family house elf, would sooner kill you than let you free him. He’s notoriously loyal to my mother, which means he’s also hateful and takes blood supremacy very seriously.”
“Yet another reason House Elves should be better supported, so they aren’t indoctrinated into their Master’s way of thinking.”
“When I said kill you, I meant it quite literally. He’s a nasty little thing. I think he’d have shoved me down the stairs as an infant if my mother asked. She had a spare, after all.”
Hermione turned her head to see him. “Drink up, you’re more depressed than usual.”
Sirius listened, nearly draining the mug, and licked his lips clean. “What’re you reading?”
“It’s a Muggle book. You wouldn’t like it.”
Offended, he sniffed at her. “What, you think I’m like my parents? I happen to quite enjoy Muggle things.”
She smiled faintly. “I don’t think you’re anything like your parents. I just meant that this book isn’t quite to your taste.”
“Oh? Something boring and political?”
“Not boring. Just… fanciful.”
“Fanciful,” he repeated, and then blinked at her. A slow smirk formed. “Hermione Jocelyn Granger, are you reading something filthy? Giv’er.”
She slapped his hand as it reached for her book. “My middle name is not Jocelyn. And it’s not filthy, just romantic.”
He eyed the flush of her cheeks skeptically. “Bits of it are though, aren’t they? Do they make tender love on a beach somewhere?”
She snorted. “Hardly. And who would want to when all that sand could get in places it shouldn’t?”
“There’s a spell for that.”
“The last thing I want to hear about is you shagging some poor witch by the lake and having to spell away whatever crawled up your arse in the process.”
He laughed, his shoulders shaking. “She was a very grateful witch, in fact, and it wasn’t by the lake. I haven’t had the opportunity yet. It’s a little too open. Too many prying eyes.”
“Not an exhibitionist then?”
“Not keen to have someone run off and tell Minnie and spend my year in detention. It’s much harder to prank from detention. Not impossible, granted, but more difficult than I’d like.” He reached for her book again and grinned as she swatted him away. “C’mon, read me a steamy passage. I can judge for myself if its rubbish or not.”
“And why would I do that?”
“You’ve peaked my curiosity now, Granger. Don’t leave me hanging.”
“Anticipation is half the fun.”

i know that we never actually got much info about the marauders era but we do know that lily had friends other than her husband and his friends, and i would really love to elaborate on that
imagine alice (as she’s two years older than lily, i believe, in canon, although i’m not sure) being a bit like a big sister to lily after petunia all but disowns her. imagine mary mcdonald studying with lily in the library and giggling over an oblivious remus. imagine marlene teaching lily how to braid her hair and dorcas teaching her pureblood customs. imagine the girls building forts under their blankets at night and generally being best, best friends like sisters
imagine the girls all being bridesmaids at lily’s wedding - alice and mary and marlene and dorcas (the maid of honor is left empty, for a blood sister that doesn’t bother to show). imagine lily introducing them to harry as ‘auntie marlene’ and ‘aunt dorcas’ and ‘aunt mary’ and ‘your godmum, aunt alice’. imagine them fighting back to back against death eaters, side by side always. imagine them jumping in front of curses for each other, even though they all know the risks, but not caring because a life without eachother isn’t really a life at all.
marlene dies first. she’s killed by voldemort himself, her and her brothers and her mum - lily tries valiantly to herself together, if not for her sake but for dorcas, whos inconsolable in her grief.
dorcas goes next. she was never the same after marlene died - she used riskier moves, slept less, and overall, lily really did think dorcas was almost begging for death. voldemort decided she had gone to far when she (as the chief editor of daily prophet) wrote a long piece about voldemort’s true name and half-blood status - he killed her the day afterwards, but mercifully, as she was, technically, a pure blood, and even though she had angered him like nothing before, he would respect his ancestors.
lily dies only a few weeks after dorcas does, and she dies just as bravely as her sisters in all but blood did - she sacrificed herself for her son. she cursed herself for trusting pettigrew, wishing they had used someone else, anyone else, instead, as lily and james and all of harry’s aunts watched him be abused from the world above with nothing they could possibly do to help.
alice is practically empty, really, now that Riddle is gone, and nearly all her family gone (both her parents and her little sister were killed a few years before, ss was her father-in-law, and now all she had left in blood relations is her big brother, who owns an icecream shop in diagon), and she is still grieving when the death eaters break past the wards and into her house. the yell of crucio envelopes her but she refuses to yell, refuses to cry, because she is alice anne fortesque-longbottom and she will not cry, not with her baby so close - and bellatrix screams in rage of having a silent victim, and alice’s mind snaps. alice is stuck inside of her head until she dies and she finds herself wishing the crazy bitch had just killed her instead.
mary is a shell, a ghost of what she once was. everyone is dead, now, or gone somehow - marlene and dorcas and lily dead, alice as good as, her sisters really all gone. james, someone she had seen as a brother, was gone too, and peter pettigrew (she never liked him, still thought he was a creep after he basically stalked her for years at hogwarts, but she couldn’t help but feel bad at his tragic end), and sirius black, who she actually had enjoyed the company of, as he was often at the potter household just as much as she was, was incarcerated in azkaban. he doesn’t get a trial and when she visits him finally, after nine months of asking, he tells her he didn’t do it, and mary believes him. because to sirius and james, it would always and forever be them before anything else (mary knows that’s james would choose sirius over lily, just as lily would choose mary over james, because siblings trump all), but as she is not a powerful Lady of houses, she doesn’t quite have the influence to demand a trial. she sticks with visiting him every few months, sneaking in chocolate bars and thick blankets. she tries to send an owl off to remus, but it comes back unopened, and she realizes he always was the type to wallow, so she lets him be. she tries more than anything to visit harry, to gain custody of him from lily’s wicked sister, but stops only when dumbledore threatens to report her to the ministry for stalking, and, when that doesn’t work, threatens to stop allowing meetings between her and sirius (and dumbledore knows that sirius black is innocent, mary knows he does, and mary also knows that dumbledore is chief warlock and could get sirius a trial if he wanted too, but if sirius does get freed that would mean he would get custody of harry and for some reason dumbledore would never all that) so she backs off. mary goes to france ministry and gets a job as an auror, studying law on the side, but she never does get to meet harry again - she dies at a stray curse by a high level crimes boss near the eiffel tower, and the light glows over her body softly as it cools.
the sisterhood is united once more.

51: LilyLPScorpius
It was spectacular! There were fireworks! Uncle Ron had a fit worthy of McGonagall on a bad day! And Lily wasn't even his child!
"Let me just explain," fifteen-year-old Lily told her parents, Aunt Hermione, and Uncle Ron, the last being the only one who was irate. "Scorpius and I have a lot of things in common—"
"No! I won't allow it! Not a Malfoy in our family!" Uncle Ron bellowed.
Lily rolled her eyes. She liked Scorpius, yes, but she wondered when she'd get the chance to explain they'd already broken up because they worked better as mates?
52: DracoMollyII
Sometimes he felt like a child as she bustled about and didn't keep their engagements. Molly swore up and down that she wasn't married to her job, but Draco wasn't so sure, because she told him these things while she gave him half her attention. The divorcee had heard excuses before and knew how to spot them.
But this time was different. He didn't know how to confront adult-like Molly, who made Draco her last priority. It wasn't that she loved her job more than him…
She just happened to love him least out of everything in her entire life.
53: SiriusMundungus
Sirius was always in the middle. James and Remus vied for his attention. Regulus and his parents expected totally different things of him. Remus and Mundungus offered a life of fun.
Remus sniffed Sirius after Lily and James left the Order meeting. "Oh, Godric, Padfoot—you smell like stale wine and tobacco," he said disapprovingly, knowing with whom Sirius had hung out before the meeting.
Remus could gripe, because Sirius loved him. But Sirius missed hanging out with Mundungus, their old classmate and fellow Order member who was the only one who understood Sirius' opinion that danger could be fun.
54: HannahMillicent
Hannah had had enough of being different before this year, which was supposed to be her last. She'd lost her mother, one of her best mates was on the run (poor Justin!), and it was a death sentence to join the reconstituted D.A.
She took solace in the quiet of the forbidden third-floor corridor…which Millicent also enjoyed. After a few weeks, Hannah didn't begrudge her the respite. In fact, it gave them the chance to enjoy it together.
Until, as the year drew to a close, Hannah could no longer take solace in Millie's strong and comforting warmth, too.
55: TonksMoody
"What are you looking for, Tonks?"
She almost squeaked when he spoke to her, though she supposed she shouldn't have been surprised, since she knew about—and loved—his magical eye. "Nothing, Mad-Eye. I just came to say goodnight since the day's over."
He grunted. "Goodnight." A minute of silence passed; he softened and sighed. "You won't find what you're looking for here, Nymphadora."
Usually it angered her, him calling her that. This time it just made her sad, and she wondered if his eye had been able to see she'd just fall for another scarred man in the future.
56: DominiqueRegulus
She thinks her name must mean "unlucky one." So far, she's seen nothing to contradict that. She aced her training and yet didn't become a Transfiguration professor. She loved Lysander, a boy with a perpetually broken heart, once. She can't outshine her older sister or her only brother.
So of course Dominique, timid and non-complaining like a good Hufflepuff, goes and falls for a man who's supposed to be dead, who's more than twice her age, and who's got a brother complex. He might be kind, soft-spoken, handsome, a little like her…
But Regulus isn't the type to love back.
57: TomJrWalburga
When they were older, his roommates teased him. Tom Riddle had everyone charmed, but he wouldn't let anyone charm him.
"You've got to think of witches at some point, yeah?" one asked. (No, of course not.)
"Marrying a good pureblood is what we all need to do." (Yes, blood purity should remain intact, but he didn't want to marry.)
"What about Walburga Black, a year above us? She's gorgeous." (That didn't matter. Walburga was destined to marry Orion Black, that student three years their junior.)
(… And who Walburga Black married was none of Tom's business. Now, about making Horcruxes…)
58: RolfScorpius
"It's not about being different or the same," Scorpius told him as they enjoyed a cuppa while Rolf planned his next trip (because he and Luna were still friends and partners and no one else would be a naturalist with him). Scorpius sat reading one of Rolf's books.
"Then what's it about?" Rolf prompted, not looking up.
"It's about what I like about you, what you like about me." Scorpius paused, obviously waiting for his lover to meet his eyes. "I like a lot of things about you."
Rolf could no longer think of what he liked about Scorpius, though.
59: DominiqueHermione
Hermione's…not all that bad. Sometimes it's enough to look at her prettiness and admire it and nurture it, because Dominique knows that, if left to her own devices, her aunt wouldn't care much about her appearance.
Sometimes it's enough to run her hands through those lovely brown locks and see Hermione be a blushing witch. Dominique loves pecking her reddening cheeks.
But the moment Hermione opens her mouth? It ruins everything, and Dominique's reminded then that the only person who truly can stand her is Ron, partially because he's put up with Hermione's nagging for longer than anyone else.
60: YaxleyDaphne
Have you ever played a game of hearts?
            Yaxley has.
He's stolen Daphne's, just to spite Lucius. He can't stand that Lucius got off while Yaxley has had to stick to the shadows post-war. It's not fair that Lucius gets to keep his family, his wife, his mistress while Yaxley has nothing.
So he's taken Daphne's heart to play with…
            …but the game's getting old…
…and it aches to see Daphne return to Lucius night after night…
            …so Yaxley ends it.
(It doesn't mean he cares, not really…
It's just another game of hearts…)
            [That's a game he's never won.]
Remarks for—
Ch51: For "guest," as requested with the prompt "remote." It's subtle, but Ron wasn't even remotely close to grasping the situation when the adults finally found out.
Ch53: For AshNox, as requested with the prompt "stale wine and tobacco." This was hard to do in only 100 words, though! I wanna write them some more, because disapproving!Remus here is fun…
Ch55: For AshNox, as requested with the prompt "scars."
Ch57: For AshNox, who requested this specific pairing.
Ch60: Whoops. Kinda alludes to my 2 fics, "Coveted" and "By Any Means." Which you might like if you enjoyed this drabble…and if you enjoy Death Eaters. ;) *loves Yaxley*
Thanks for reading, and feel free to leave an anon/unsigned review via the FFN link or comment via the AO3 link at the top of the post, especially if you enjoyed this!
~mew
2021 note (regarding ch51): Deffo one of my funnier fics. I like this type of misunderstanding! XD
(regarding ch53): …you ever just…not remember writing something? *lol* (Hey, I'm allowed—I'm closing in on 800 fics this year!! XP)
(regarding ch55): Now this drabble I recall with a certain fondness. Moody I see as someone who'd chase away all affections, regardless of the person.
(regarding ch60): Ngl, there are some fic ideas that are hard to escape, so when I go to write a ship or charrie, I write more either in that universe or smthg similar to it. Such as here. (Another good example is anything Elfen, Eloise/Fenrir. ;P)
And if you want to support Counting Backwards, please swing by its FFN and AO3 versions and consider liking and reblogging these posts on my HariPo fic tumblr!

A9, A8, B9,B8, C1, C5, C10 for the asks! :)
Oh wow, thanks! n_n This is more info than you wanted probably.
A8) What was your first fandom? Are you still in that fandom now?
When I was a kid, I used to draw Pokemon during recess and I’d troll serebii.net looking for info about new games and how to beat certain elements of games and I’d trade Pokemon cards and pretend to be a Pokemon trainer around my neighborhood. But I really consider Harry Potter my first and only fandom because it’s really the only fandom that I’ve participated in by sharing or viewing content and talking to other people about it. I guess it depends on how you define fandom.
A9) Who was your first ship?
When I first discovered fan fiction, I was horrified by the whole idea of it. The gall people had to think they could write Harry Potter better than JKR could!!! So my first few ships were ones I read in mutual horror and fascination. It started with Draco/Harry, read a couple of those and then discovered something even MORE horrific… Draco/Hermione. D/Hr was my first big OTP. Then I discovered Snape/Hermione, which was my second big OTP. Then some Draco/Ginny fics were recommended to me by my beta and that ship became the OTP to rule them all. :)
B8) Is there a show or a book that you gave up on that you went back to later? Why did you come back to it?
Hmmmm… I don’t usually give media I consume second chances. If I can’t finish a book or don’t have interest finishing a show, then I don’t bother going back to them because there are millions of other things out there I could read or watch instead. The only things coming to mind to answer this question are:
Steven Universe: I watched a few episodes a few years ago and got bored, but then when I saw how the story evolved on Tumblr, I went back and started it over and now I love it.
Once Upon a Time: I stopped watching after season 3 and only watched season 4 because it was on Netflix and I could binge it, but I couldn’t finish season 5 or the rest of the show because it was bad.
The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward: In 2015, I gave up on the series after Blay and Qhuinn’s book because some things about the series are just… so bad, but then in 2018, I picked the series back up, reread it, and caught up with all the newest books because I was having a Bad Time in life and just wanted to read something familiar and comforting. There are still some things about the series that get on my nerves (like the convoluted story lines and how some characters act or are treated vs. others), but at this point, I keep reading them because every once in a while there’s something really great happening in all the mediocre, and, again, they’re familiar and that’s nice.
B9) Who is your OTP?
Tumblr media
C1) What trope are you tired of reading? Why?
I hate love triangles. Maybe because I’m a bitter eternal single, but two people fighting over the same person feels unrealistic to me. (I’m going to use the scenario of two guys fighting over one girl just for clarity’s sake, but I hate love triangles no matter the genders involved.) If a girl can’t decide between two dudes, she’s a jerk and both of them should forget about her. If one of the dudes can’t respect the girl’s relationship with the other dude, then he’s a jerk and the girl needs a restraining order against him. It’s gross and stupid and not relevant or interesting to me in any way.
Now, if a character THINKS they like someone and this other person is in the wings secretly pining for them, and the book is all about how that person changes their mind and realizes how great the secret piner is? I will eat. That. Up. But I don’t care for the drama of everyone knowing everyone’s feelings and going in circles fighting over the same people for no reason.
C5) What character that fandom loves are you just kinda “meh” about? Why?
James and Lily. I love them because they are Harry’s parents, but I just don’t really care about their Hogwarts years especially because James was such a jerk back then. The Marauders era is not my era.
C10) What book could you just never get into, no matter how hard you tried?
Ummm… I can’t think of any books. I know there are books I’ve tried to read that I didn’t finish, but they didn’t leave a lasting enough impression on me to remember their titles. Now, there are a few fan fics I tried to read that I thought were overhyped and couldn’t finish. One was The Draco Trilogy. I’m not going to name the others though because that could hurt someone’s feelings (or anger the fics’ fans). 👀

Personality: Gladion appears cold on the outside and barely emotes his feelings. He is the very definition of an ice prince, many believing him to be cool and unfeeling. In reality, he is quite soft on the inside who cares and loves deeply but is forced to hide any and all emotions in fear of them being used against him by those around him. He is loyal to a fault and will do anything for those that he has given his loyalty too even if said thing is questionable.
He gets better as he ages able to smile more but only for those he cares for. He never gives his true smiles over easily and it is a sign of how he cares for the other person to be vulnerable with them.

Residence: Hogwarts, Aether Manor, a home his mother has in France, verse dependent.
Additional Information: Gladion’s main verse is set in the lightening era though he has a marauders verse
Gladion in the lightening verse has a little sister named Lillie who is a year younger then he is and is sorted into Hufflepuff the house he wanted to be sorted into.
Gladion was an experiment in his mothers Lusamine’s eyes having been put under the crucio curse since he was 7 years old,  (though in the younger years the crucio was brief only a second or two if he had done something his mother believed to be unsightly) all in the name of voldomort in hopes of creating solders that didn’t feel pain. While in the verses where he's older he's unable to feel pain; in his younger verses, he's still able to feel pain. His pain tolerance starts to raise around 3rd year and the true start of where he starts to lose those feelings. More
VERSES
Main School Verse Lightening Era: Gladion is the second line of Aethers to step into Hogwarts but the first who would begin at Hogwarts and graduate there. His mother and father had been part of a program to build relationships with wizarding schools across the globe. His mother coming from Beauxbatons while his father came from Durmstrang and went to Hogwarts for a short time.
The Aether name is a new pureblooded name in the British community but none the less respected. The school verse shows the rise of Gladions' neutral faction and attempts of changing the magical world and help their community florish.
Marauders Era School Verse: Instead of Gladion being Lusamine’s son he’s her younger brother, the surprise baby of Lusamine’s parents. An unexpected but not unwanted child; they dote on him due to him being the baby in the family and knowing that Lusamine is on her way of leaving the nest. Although a bit of a black sheep his interest in Muggle things is seen as a “cute hobby” instead of downright blasphemist.
Gladion’s born in 1960 August 23rd and goes to Hogwarts due to the international student program, though this time he’d be going from 1st year until graduation since his parents saw Lusamine’s time there as successful.
Time Travel: Instead of studying ancient magical text like his father Gladion becomes an unspeakable. His line of work is hush hush of course but he takes great pride in it none the less even if he’s unable to speak about it. Though one accident with a newly made time turner mixed with an attack on the ministry building has Gladion thrown back into time!
Due to the nature of time travel, there are many different ways this could happen thus the above just being one of the many examples of it. Expect different outcomes if you personally ask for my time travel verse.
War Main Lightening era: This verse is set mainly in 6th and 7th year the years where the war was more promonaint. It follows Gladion's dealings with the war and trying to keep his little sister Lillie and allies alive and safe.
Post War Lightening era:  Gladion finishes his education and goes into the same field that his father went into. Due to the war, he ends up regularly seeing a therapist to learn how to live with his PTSD. (the PTSD he got from his mother’s abuse and from the war) He has nightmares daily about his mother often and keeps dreaming of her death. He’s finding difficulties continuing with his life and not being on the move or plotting something or other. He can’t find it in himself to find peace as he feels like he should still be fighting, he feels like the war had just begun even if it’s ended.
Marauder’s era War: Whilst Gladion never has a big part in the war he’s in the background keeping his ear to the ground; picking up any and all info on the death eaters movements and possible plans. Part of him doesn’t want to get involved with the war, Britain isn’t his homeland after all but another part of him knows this place was more home to him than the ‘home’ back in France was.
Closed Ship Verse Sirius/Gladion
Sirius/Gladion Marauders Era Postwar:
Closed verse with @doggedfather
Gladion Aether left without his only friend/lover and without the other Marauders, (besides a lone Remus Lupin) is forced to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart.
Whilst Gladion legally fights the ministry like a man possessed for Sirius freedom life continues on. Others pity him, seeing his actions as denial from a lovesick fool while others see him as barking mad for his defense of a ‘death eater.’ Throughout the lonely years, Gladion manages to make it out on his own creating new spells in French and English respectively and earn his degree in wizarding history, even as his sister Lusamine dose her best to discredit him to the British wizarding community.
Once hearing of Sirius escape all eyes turn to him assuming, “mad man Aether” had something to do with it even though Gladion knew he didn’t have the power to break anyone out of Azkaban let alone Sirius.
Once hearing the news Gladion stalks the forest around Hogwarts on the lookout for his missing friend/lover hoping beyond hope to find him somewhere and stop the man from doing something he regrets.
Death Eater: Gladion was forced to take the death eaters mark when he was 16 years old. He did it to save Lillie from the pain of being forced to take it. Now trapped within the death eaters he’s living on the knife-edge between what he believes and what he has to do to stay alive. Even so he rebelled against them silently in any form he can determined to make sure Voldemort loses.

7. BIOGRAPHY:
For a family that has always prided itself on the purity of its blood, the Mulciber name is not to be found on the list of the Sacred Twenty-Eight pure-blood families, a slight that the remaining Mulcibers today do not take kindly to. The reason for the omission is what has been termed “a lapse of judgment” on the part of one Arsenius Mulciber in the latter half of the 18th century. When he married Miss Eudocia Prince, she assured him that her family was as pure in blood as his own. It wasn’t until the birth of their son Clarus that the truth came out: she was a Muggle-born who just so happened to share a surname with a noted wizarding family, and had used many cases of mistaken identity to cement herself among the pure-blood elite. Despite long-standing efforts to keep this quiet, the truth won out eventually, and Cantankerus Nott took great pleasure in omitting the Mulciber name from his famous list in the 1930’s.
Since then, it has been the family goal to wipe all trace of this blot on their name from history. Marriage to pure-bloods was never a question, but a requirement, and drastic measures were always taken to ensure that the newest child in the family was a witch or wizard. Mulciber children always had a way of dying young, particularly if they seemed to be magical late bloomers. Evandrus was one of the lucky ones who showed more than enough magical talent early on to avoid a mysterious case of Dragonpox, unlike the children his parents bore before him. And what a testament to his family name he was. His father Caecilius couldn’t have been more proud to produce a son who was already shattering teacups with a clap of his hands at a year old, and making the family Kneazle levitate by three. He was intended to be the figurehead of the Mulcibers, the wizard who would lead their family back into the lofty circles of the pure-blood elite. No Muggle-borns, Squibs, or even half-bloods had tarnished their family tree since the despised Eudocia Prince, and Evandrus was diligently trained to keep it that way.
His childhood was marked by his father’s frequent absences, during which he plotted with a man he called the Dark Lord. Though they had apparently attended school together, Mulciber Sr. looked to this man as a messiah for pure-bloods everywhere, a leader he would follow to hell and back. The Dark Lord, whose name Evandrus learned to spell the moment he learned to write, was a mythical figure in his house, worshipped like a god. For Caecilius had seen but a smidge of what the Dark Lord was capable of, the lengths he would go to for power, and was awestruck. One day, he told his son, Evandrus would have the great privilege of meeting Lord Voldemort and becoming a Death Eater like his father, and he expected his son to make him proud on that day. Nothing else mattered. Every inch of command Evandrus learned over his magic, every spell, potion, and book, prepared him for service to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Only the powerful and the strong were worthy of following his father’s master, and by god Evandrus would be powerful and strong. His father forced him to learn a great many hexes, jinxes, and curses beyond the norm for children his age, his mother Renata never lifting a finger in protest but merely healing any wounds these early studies inflicted on her only son. If he cried or so much as trembled, he would be Crucioed. And in turn, should he manage to surpass a test set by his father, he would be rewarded with a trip to the nearest Muggle suburb for a bit of Cruciatus practice himself with his father’s wand.
By the time he started at Hogwarts, Evandrus had hardened into a cruel boy whose merciless streak manifested instantly. Not in his immediate placement in Slytherin house, but in the way he strutted to the table and threatened a fellow first year out of a seat he wanted. It was done with a smile as charming and as winning as any would imagine, but the malice behind it was unmistakable and more than enough to establish him at the top of his class’s pecking order. Throughout school, he did as his distant idol Voldemort had done. He amassed followers and cronies, allied himself with more powerful older students and won their loyalty. He was a charming boy in ways that surprised many, and with time he turned that into as much of a weapon as his wand. But he was never loved by the masses, only feared, for everyone knew that he had a quick temper and an overwhelming need to control all around him. Perhaps because of his tightly controlled upbringing, he refused to allow others the same control over him. Only one wizard would be allowed that right. Any who underestimated him or annoyed him in any way would be subjected to one of his many curses.
Only one of his fellow Slytherins was considered his friend: Dominic Avery. Dominic was the only person in the whole school, aside from a few of the staff, for whom Evan had any amount of respect. Between the two of them, they made a formidable team. Dom had the patience that Evan lacked, and the cold calculation to perfect and elevate their schemes. He was also perfectly happy to submit to Evan’s whims, never questioning anything, merely suggesting and improving. Within a few years, they had the whole of their year cowering before them wherever they went, aside from that prick Potter and his friends. Things only improved when they took Severus Snape under their wing—his talent for devising new hexes and jinxes added to their terrifying arsenal, and once that filthy ginger Mudblood cut ties with him, his devotion to helping them cemented their reign in their final years of school.
It was a surprise to no one that Evan refused to find work upon graduation. The pretense was his family’s small fortune, which made work unnecessary. But there was only one true calling for him: immediate service to the Dark Lord, who was making bigger and bolder moves daily. Snape followed him, as did most of his former cohorts and underlings from school. Receiving his Dark Mark after proving his worth (Imperiusing an aide to the Minister) was a crowning achievement for him, which he relished as the Dark Lord himself branded Evan’s arm before his father’s eyes. At last, Evan was ready to fulfill his destiny. But to his dismay, Dominic did not follow him immediately. He’d never had as strong a stomach or heart as Evan, and per his father’s request had taken a job at the Ministry. The Averys’, unlike Evan’s family, were one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight and had appearances to maintain. Though Evan found it distasteful and cowardly, he waited sullenly until his friend could finally join him without fear of discovery.
In the meantime, his own parents deemed him ready to take on the other sacred task he’d been raised for. At their behest, Evandrus was wed to Lyra Rosier. It didn’t start as a loving marriage by any stretch of the imagination. Both Evan and Lyra knew they were only together to propagate and maintain a pure bloodline. But their combined talents in magic and the bedroom lead to, if nothing else, a certain fondness between them. They were an exceptional pair, lauded by the pure-blood community and respected among Evan’s fellow Death Eaters, who appreciated Lyra’s bloodthirsty desire to watch her husband at work. But there was little time for forging more romantic attachments; more important things were going on in the world around them. War was descending upon England, and once Dominic was at his side among Voldemort’s followers, Evan felt unstoppable. He rose as one of Voldemort’s most notorious followers, his knack for the Imperius Curse and his sadistic love of torturing prisoners earning him favor quickly. Everything was perfect. The Death Eaters were winning, soon Lyra would no doubt have a child that would carry on his legacy, and no one remembered the Mulcibers’ shame anymore—Evan had seen to that.
And then the unthinkable happened. Voldemort vanished without a trace. The tide turned in an instant, forcing Evan and his father to go to ground. Turncoats abounded, selling out their fellow Death Eaters left and right, and it was only a matter of time before the Ministry was at Evan’s door. He arrived at his hideout to find his father and Lyra locked in battle with five Aurors. Renata’s corpse lay abandoned on the floor, caught in the crossfire. Caecilius fell to three hexes in the chest, goading Evan to join the dual and costing him his right eye, but to no avail. He and Lyra were both taken into custody and rapidly sent to Azkaban. Though she was only given a few months, having never taken the Dark Mark and pleading that her husband had Imperiused her, Lyra died in Azkaban. In that dread fortress, Evan waited. Years passed, during which he saw more comrades join him, some lasting only a few weeks, some going mad from isolation. Evan relied on the conditioning his father had beaten into him to remain steadfast and sane; his mind was fixed only on the day when Voldemort would return. For the Dark Lord, greatest and most powerful of all wizards, could never be killed, and Evandrus knew that someday he would return to free his most faithful.
It felt like a lifetime before that blessed day came, but Evan was ready the moment it arrived. With Azkaban cracked open by the might of the re-risen Dark Lord, he lost no time in jumping to his master’s side and was welcomed with open arms. He was long over the deaths of Lyra and his parents, but when old faces amongst the Death Eaters offered condolences, he put on a show of remorse. Now, his passion lies in finishing what he had started. With no other close family to tie him down, Evandrus serves the only wizard in the world who would ever be able to control him and his vicious needs. His skill with the Imperius Curse, his love of torture, and his charming facade to the unwary make him valuable in recruiting new Death Eaters. But whether his impatience and desire to dominate those around him will prove as useful, only time will tell.

mvgicfms
submitted:
OOC Information:
Name/Age/Timezone- Hello!! My name is Madi, I am nineteen and from the GMT timezone
Activity Level- At the current moment, I work four days of the week, but only four hour shift from midday to four pm gmt time, so I will ensure I’m active every other time! I don’t do much in my spare time besides see my boyfriend twice a week, so I’ll be online every day pretty much. I’m going to with 8.
Ships/Anti-Ships- My only major ship for Remus in the Marauders era is Wolfstar (Remus/Sirius) I’ve never seen or explored any others but I would be down to!
Did you read the rules? 100%
IC Information:
Character Name- Remus John Lupin
Age/Birthdate- 18, March 10th
Faceclaim- Tom Holland, Froy Gutierrez, Daniel Sharman (in his teen wolf resources!)
Occupation- Remus never stuck to one particular job. Fresh out of Hogwarts he failed to find any employment, greatly down to his affliction as a werewolf and his fear of being found out. But at present he has found a job as photographer that keeps him pretty under the radar.
Blood Status- Half-Blood
Traits- Intelligent, loyal, compassionate.
Withdrawn, stubborn, blunt
Patronus- A wolf! Pretty ironic since he despises that part of himself.
Boggart- The full moon
Key Points-
Born March 10th to Hope and Lyall Lupin. Their only child, the only one they wanted. Remus would grow up to be an incredibly brave and intelligent individual, finding love in lifelong friends. Lyall, his father, worked at the Ministry of Magic, and during a particular case, where a man by the name of Fenrir Greyback was allowed free, despite killing two children. It was Lyall who knew Greybacks true nature; he was a werewolf, and voiced his disagreement with letting him go free to the court, claiming Greyback to be deserving of nothing of death. This was a mistake that would cost Mr.Lupin and his family dearly, though he didn’t realise it at the time.
Young Remus Lupin never had a real childhood. He never gotten the chance to. Any hope of that had been thrown away the night the four year old boy was attacked and bitten by werewolf Fenrir Greyback, turning him into one too. In a revenge lllt against his father, Greyback thought it perfect to turn Lyall’s young son into the very thing he so despised. Every full moon since then, Remus has undergone a very painful transformation on the full moon. It crushed him, he thought he’d never be able to Hogwarts, he’d never have any friends, he couldn’t risk any of that because he posed a massive risk to everyone around him now.
t’s rather common for him to fall ill a week or so before the moon, and remain as such for around the same amount of time after, depending on the injuries he’s gained by the end of it.
Despite his fears, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore reassures Remus and his parents that special circumstances had already been in place to support Remus’s condition and allow him somewhere to go on a full moon where he wouldn’t be able to get to anyone. He would be escorted to the shrieking shack every full moon to undergo the transformation. The isolation of it all, however, would often cause him to lash out on himself during the change, due to frustration and being alone. The screams and cries that came from the shack on a monthly bases, followed by the howl of a werewolf, led Hogsmeade villagers to believe that the shack was haunted, a rumor greatly encouraged by Dumbledore, to hide the truth and to keep people away.
Hogwarts were the best years of Remus’s life. He was sorted into Gryffindor, and quickly befriended an eager yet quiet boy; Peter Pettigrew. The two became fast friends, and were later acquainted to the school troublemakers; James Potter and Sirius Black. Remus found it easy to befriend the two, and quickly fell into a part of their group, alongside Peter. The group were chaotic, constantly causing trouble and sneaking around, but it was fun, nice to actually be able to do the typical stuff that a teenage witch or wizard would do, with a group of friends he had made for himself. Being a Marauder often meant trouble, and though Remus quite often disproved of his best mates’ antics, but he wasn’t a bore or a complete rule follower, or he wouldn’t have been a Marauder in the first place! Half of the pranks and plans that the group came up with were orchestrated and carried out by Remus, the brains behind the majority of Marauder operations, or most would have failed. Though he was often the mastermind he didn’t get in trouble nearly as often since he didn’t tend to be one carrying them out. He remained a good student, never turning in assignments late or causing any trouble in case. An exception was made for him the day of and a few days after the full moon. He missed a lot of class because of the lycanthropy situation, but still managed to remain one of the top students.
Remus disagreed with how his friends would bully Severus Snape in school, but he never said anything about it or tried to stop them because he felt he owed them a huge loyalty due to them accepting him and keeping him around after finding out about his condition, this loyalty only increases when James, Sirius and Peter became Animagi to support him. Remus never engaged in the bullying, and disproved in the background, often stating how he didn’t feel it necessary, but that was all. He never spoke up against his friends.
Changes/Extra info - Nothing, for right now!
Para Sample-
The nights were growing darker, colder. There was a change in the air, and every witch or wizard could feel it. War was on the way, and when it hit it would spare no one of its’ evil clutches. Remus knew that they had to be ready, and he would stand up and fight when the time came, to protect the friends he had made in his lifetime, to keep safe the people he now loved. That’s what had led him to join the Order of the Phoenix, pretty much straight after he had graduated Hogwarts. He wanted to stand up against Voldemort and his death eaters and play his part in defeating them. That is the right thing to do, after all. Fear was an everpresent emotion in the young man’s life now, as it was for every one else too, but he’d rather be on his toes, constantly looking for threats than be blindsided by one and lose himself or someone he held dear. Fear is what made people human, and humanity was something he was desperate to hold on to.

CONGRATULATIONS, Hiba!
You have joined the ranks of the second Wizarding War as ASTORIA GREENGRASS. Your requests to change her FC to Willa Holland and grant her more private tolerance towards other blood statuses has been granted. In order to fully prepare for what the Dark Lord has in store for you, it is advised that you read through the new member playbook, create your account within the next 48 hours, notify the headmistresses, and immerse yourself into the world of a war-torn wizarding world.
Your journey awaits you--in the darkness, in the light, or somewhere in-between.
OOC INFO
1. NAME: Hiba.
2. AGE: 16 years old.
3. TIMEZONE / ACTIVITY: My current timezone is eastern standard time (EST) and I would consider my activity to be about a 6-7. Since school’s out I’ve been pretty much lazing around and catching up on sleep, but I’m currently observing the month of Ramadan and fasting every day from sun up till sundown (ie - I’m tired and thirsty pretty much all day haha)  and trying to work on college applications, so that might take away from being online all the time. But - I do plan on being online as much as I can, and posting starters and replies every few days!
4. PREFERRED PRONOUN(S): She/her.
5. TRIGGER WARNING(S): omitted for applicant privacy
6. HAVE YOU READ THE RULES?: omitted for admin use
7. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT IVORY AND BONE?: In all honestly, I was scrolling down the “drastoria tag” which lead to me to the “astoria greengrass” tag. I’ve usually rp’d in marauder’s era RPG’s but I’ve always wanted to try my hand at a golden trio rp (especially one with an open spot for Astoria aha). While scrolling, I came upon Astoria’s bio and fell in love Ivory and Bone!
8. FAMILIARITY WITH RPING?: I’ve been roleplaying on and off for about six years! I started, for the most part on forums like stardoll and polyvore, but about two years ago a friend of mine told me about a marauder’s rpg she was joining on tumblr and I was sort of taken aback. I’d never heard of a Harry Potter based rpg, nonetheless a marauders one. But, I ended up applying as Amelia Bones. And I’ve never looked back - I ended up co-admining two more rp’s with that same friend, and I’ve been playing as Amelia ever since. But I’d love to expand my horizons and play someone new!
IC INFO
1. CHARACTER NAME: Astoria Renee Greengrass.
2. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE?: And I always found interesting JKR’s decision not to have Draco marry Pansy or one of the other aforementioned Slytherin girls like Millicent or Daphne. Instead, she chose a someone that we’ve never been introduced to - Astoria. Someone who (as we would later find out as her character was expanded on by JKR) was seemingly the opposite - someone who dropped her family’s pure blooded ideals in favor of more tolerant views. Someone who went through the same struggles of identity and self-worth as Draco. And then you have Astoria, who not only falls in love but marries someone who is pretty much a social pariah on both sides, and they show each other the light and pick each other’s broken pieces and put them back together.
Another reason why I chose Astoria was that I was so interested in the dynamics of her relationship with Daphne. The bio’s mention that the two of them have a complicated relationship, to say the least, but the nuances of that relationship would be so fun to explore. Like, for example - Daphne’s bio mentions that she’ll sometimes take the blame for things that Astoria has done to cover for her. Has Astoria ever been aware of it, or has she just been completely oblivious? Are the two jealous of each other - Daphne for their parents love and Astoria her sister’s position and popularity? Have either of them tried to mend their relationship? Have all those hurt feelings on both sides ever been voiced, or do they keep silent in order to save face? Now that Astoria is becoming more and more estranged from her family and pureblooded society, what does that mean for her relationship with her sister?
3. CHARACTER SEXUALITY: Heterosexual.
4. SECONDARY CHARACTER: Susan Bones.
5. ANY MINOR CHANGES / REQUESTS?: The only slight change I’d like to make is in regards to Astoria’s views on muggleborns/mudbloods/ half-breeds. Instead of her being a bit more apathetic towards muggleborns and the like, could she maybe share some more tolerant views already and simply keep them to herself?
I was also wondering if the FC for Astoria could possibly be switched from Madelaine Petsch to Willa Holland. Thank you!
6. ANYTHING ELSE?: n/a
