I'm so glad I read the entire Hidden Empire event book before the Aphra issues coming out at the same time. Like we really had Kho Phon Farrus out here spoiling one of the twists of the series (what was inside the time prison) months before the comic came out just because they had a little crush and had to report back to the ex-girlfriend brigade abt what was happening. I mean Kho has THE worst taste in women (they did have a crush on Aphra im p sure) so like I could see it but like. Editorial. You're chill with this?
#apparently they just let alyssa wong do whatever they want which like#fire okay sure#also havent seen any bts for or against any of this but you CANNOT tell me that the event comics weren't the reason the possession arc went#on that long. like bro the main character was literally possessed for TEN ISSUES. no way that wasnt drawn out bc they wanted the spark to#fight vader in the hidden empire finale. no way#blah#star wars#<<<organizational tag#decided some of the sw comicposting is going here bc this blog is more fun#than my sw blog where i have like 20 followers and 1 mutual. who only cares abt and likes posts for 1 character#kho phon farrus#doctor aphra#chelli lona aphra#i have no clue what the widely used aphra tag is here. not that any of them are widely used bc sw comic but like. idk#hidden empire#star wars comics

Hello💜
Just doing this quick and fast for anyone who doesn't know me, is new here, or just forgot who I was when I disappeared for a while.
Hi! My name is Storm (obviously not really but it's what everyone calls me here, or variations of it). My pronouns are she/her. I'm bi, married and have kids. I work in the mass communication and education fields, for now. I LOVE to read, write, and listen to music.
I've been ARMY since the beginning of 2020. I found BTS basically by accident. My music and dance loving baby was losing it and my husband said oh wait "there is this group out there who does amazing choreo to their songs" and put on the fire dance practice. And I, too, LOVED it. MOTS7 was my first comeback so it holds a very special place in my heart. And boy did BTS and learning about them save my sanity during the pandemic.
I am Yoongi and Jimin biased. Jungkook is my main bias wrecker, Hobi a very close second. You may call me a yoonminkooker if you want. I am not a shipper, but I do exist and operate this blog in shipper spaces. I do think there is a high chance that Jimin and JK have *something* going on that's more than just friendship. I don't care if I'm wrong though. I do know for a fact that they are the bestest of friends and nothing will ever change that. I also believe that yoonminkook are all very likely queer in some sense of the word. That has nothing to do with their relationship status and is just how I see things.
On this blog, I stress facts and original content first. Anything that isn't straight from original content though is solely my opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. Everyone is always free to agree or disagree with me as they please. I am not here for followers, the numbers don't matter to me. I started this blog for me and because a friend and a few others were encouraging me to share my thoughts over larger topics and I write essays. If you follow me or not is totally your choice, but my content will be whatever it is going to be. That's never going to change. I'm always happy to talk with people though, even through disagreements on opinions. As long as there is respect, I'm always more than happy to agree to disagree.
I love and adore all BTS members. I am OT7 through and that will never change. I love all 7 members, and I love them in every single duo/trio/grouping combination. And I will never tolerate any hate or slander towards any of them on my blog.
And finally, my post masterlist is here, if you haven't seen it yet, please check it out. Thank you!
Hopefully that's a sufficient introduction 😂 felt weird to have to do. I am not this important lol. If you guys have any questions or have anything you want to share, feel free to ask 💜

https://www.tumblr.com/iced-coffee-jesus/767235683936075776/yall-watch-one-episode-where-we-dont-get
Except the majority of the complaints aren’t about buddie?
They are about the lack of progress regarding Eddie and Eddie and Chris.
But some of you guys sit here and think it’s fine to ckmpl about Bucks storylines and keep it separate but the moment people complain about how things are being handled with Eddie it’s an immediate “omg it was one episode not everything is about buddie chill out”
Eddie has had almost zero development. The only thing that has had less development than Eddie at this point is Eddie and Chris’s relationship. Way too much focus is being given to side characters at the expense of the mains. And Eddie is taking the brunt of it.
Another way to look at it? Buck has had some story focus in every single episode this season so far. Including the majority of 8.5 and a chunk of 8.6. With a big thing happening to him at the end of 8.6.
Eddie has been basically background comedy every episode except for a moment or two here or there and then we were told by Tim after 8.5 Eddie would be the focus as he’s now the next big part of the story. Hell even Oliver said in a post 8.5 interview that 8.6 was Eddie’s. But then oh hey it wasn’t. Not really. It was Madney (super excited for their second child 🥹) and BT with some Eddie thrown in. And a big thing happening to him at the end of 8.6.
And this is now where the frustration boils over for 8.7. Buck had at least 3 full scenes given to him as he talked about Tommy, was sad about Tommy, tried to figure out what to do about Tommy. His big thing was addressed. Eddie’s? Not a word. Not a single thing. No one mentioned the mustache being gone. Eddie didn’t mention his new lease to find joy. Not a single word about Chris. Just more comedic relief Eddie in the background. Chris has been gone for month and months now. And per both Peter and Angela in post 8.7 interviews we are getting a time skip when we come back from the winter hiatus which will put Chris as being gone for 10 months when we come back in March. He’s been separated from Eddie that long and zero progress has been made. And that circles back to the frustration with Eddie’s lack of storyline attention because Chris can’t come back till Eddie is taken care of because that’s the entire point of Chris being removed from the narrative. But instead of focusing on any of that at all we get 3 scenes of Buck sad baking over a man who dumped him two different times. We get a scene of Gerrard crying over Brad not liking him.
That’s what people are frustrated about. The only ones making “one episode not about buddie” are those of you who keep saying that and refusing to acknowledge we can be unhappy about the way Eddie is being handled separately from buddie because you refuse to separate Eddie from buddie.
This is such a long rant that I almost didn't answer it, but you pissed me off anon so I will!
The post that you linked to doesn't mention either Buck or Eddie's individual storylines you'll notice, because that isn't what that post is about! I am specifically talking about people freaking about about not getting progression in the buddie storyline in one (1) episode when we had a lot of development in 8x05 and 8x06. That is what that post is about, so please calm down and re-read the post.
I'm not sure if you follow my blog or have seen my posts, but I haven't been complaining about Buck's storyline; I have been annoyed by fandom response to Tommy and people willingly ignoring what has been shown on screen. I think Buck's bisexual storyline has been handled relatively well and I hope to see him casual dating different genders to hammer home that he's bisexual. I am desperate for more resolution on the Chris and Eddie front, but I am also aware that the actor who plays Chris moved away, creating problems for the show that make it harder and not as satisfactory to write a storyline for. I would have loved to see Eddie go to Texas in 8x04 to go get Chris back, but Gavin's availability is different now. I'm also not throwing in the towel when we have an episode left and then the whole of 8b to resolve and get more Eddie episodes.
I completely disagree with you about the Eddie development we have gotten so far. Eddie had more storyline in 8x04 than pretty much anyone else but Hen and Karen, with Eddie seeking out Weston's dad and having moments where we see him missing Chris and feeling like he failed him. We see more of that in 8x05 when he talks to Hen about Chris thinking that Halloween is 'cringe' now, and that he feels like that door has closed and worrying about other potential doors closing. We also see that scene at the end with him taking down the Halloween decorations and the pictures of him and Chris on the mantle, paired with Buck's voice over about dying alone. Plus, the way they show Buck leaning on Eddie and trusting him over Tommy felt important, even if that was more of Buck's story.
And then 8x06 we had very big movement in learning that Eddie is punishing himself and finally decides to choose joy. Eddie has historically been hard on himself and doesn't live for himself or make choices that are about what he wants. He and Shannon got married because they felt pressure from the church, he enlisted to provide for his family, he dates people he thinks would be a good replacement mom for Christopher. I wanted to see Eddie realizing that he needs to value himself and his desires and that doing so doesn't make him a bad father. Seeing Eddie choose joy was huge for his character, and something we saw in bits and pieces in this episode with him being silly and joyful with his teammates. I think Eddie deserves that at this point.
Eddie is my favorite character on 9-1-1, I always want to see more of him. And then episodes like 8x07 happen and I remember it's an ensemble led by Angela Basset. She gets top billing and we are going to have episodes that feature her heavily, even at what may feel like the expense of other characters. In my experience, that's how it is on all shows with a cast as big as 9-1-1's.
I don't know, anon. It feels like you're mad the episode didn't put Eddie back into the torment nexus for one episode and decided to yell at me for fandom takes I don't agree with and didn't say.

Hiii, miss me?
Now you want to kiss me (or have to? Wasn't there a song like that?)
This month my blog turned two years old. I got the notification in my email. Last year I made an entire celebration post by publishing the funniest/ridiculous asks I got. There were good times back then. Still. Not so much afterwards.
I wasn't the nicest presence in the last few months leading to me abandoning the blog. And I wasn't too discreet about it. Although there was more to it, a lot more. But I'll get there.
First things first. Why am I here when on the 24th of March I dramatically declared that I'm leaving forever? Well, that was a very emotionally-charged post and the result of a few factors. I'm not entirely proud of how I made my exit, but it's also a true reflection of my personality so there's no point in making excuses. Nevertheless, I will explain as much as I can (I still care about privacy, just like before).
On that Friday, I woke up excited. I took a day off from work (yes...I know), I listened to Face, watched the music video. All good. But I was also dreading a bit having to come here because I knew there was this expectation of me to come up with some thought-provoking analysis, say something smart and all that. I was exhausted on all levels, emotionally and intellectually. I had also promised to leave after the promotions were over, somewhere in the middle of April (who would have thought it would last 9 days? Not me), but the plans changed. Not to drag it too much, but on that day I also officially announced to some concerned parties that I'm changing career paths. You know, just something I thought I'd be doing until the day I die and I've been working towards for at least 10 years. No big deal. I was planning on doing it anyway, but actually saying the words and make it real is a different story. I felt extatic, full of adrenaline, so happy with my decision and at that moment, it felt the right time to close BMT. It was somehow directly connected. I made the blog as an escape and now I got the opportunity to turn the page over. It was perfect. Best day ever. I clicked post, I logged out, and then I sat. And after a while, the reality of my decisions hit me in the face. And I felt sad and empty because what the hell am I doing now and what is my identity? I closed my blog too which was my main hobby. And so followed some difficult days. And then it got better. And then bad again. And so on, because it's a roller coaster.
The thing is, I can change my interests, but I can't stop myself from being opinionated. And getting excited. And wanting to talk about it. And share all that on a public platform with some strangers that are interested in what I have to say. Or they used to. It's who I am.
This blog won't remain Bangtan Media Thoughts because I want more than that. I will rebrand this page. I could start fresh with a new blog, but this is still my space and I know some people were interested in reading about other things as well from me, not just BTS. I hope I can built something from that.
The blog won't reflect only a specific niche of interests, but everything that I like in terms of pop culture. From movies, music, fashion, gossip, you name it. Including Kpop. And if I feel the need to rant about Hybe after talking about Ryan Gosling's Ken, I will. Same about JM, JK or whoever I feel like it. If there is a good advice that I got in the last few months, is to adapt and not force myself to abandon something completely. Because it's not as easy as it sounds. And to be honest, it was easier to give up smoking than completely lose interest in kpop. It's a habit. Perhaps this new blog will reflect the way I try to deal with that. A bit more honestly, a little less discourse, certainly less essays because I don't have them in me at the moment. But never say never. This blog will be all me, not just BMT.
I will change the name and url 24h after I post this. This will be an opportunity for all my followers to decide if they want to stay or they are not interested in the new direction. Feel free to do as you please. I welcome new people and greet the old ones who didn't hit unfollow for some reason.
It will go like this:
Bangtan Media Thoughts > Reflections in a Critical Eye
New theme, new profile photo, new beginnings.
All the old posts will still be here. I don't plan on deleting anything. They are all a product of me and my brain and they have their place. I'll probably pin some new posts these days that have to do with the rebranding. It will be like a construction site, but it will be worth it.
One last thing though. After I abruptly left, I received some DMs. I saw them back then. I do feel sorry about those who wanted to check in with me or with whom I used to talk regularly. But I do hope that some of the things I said today will explain my behavior. I also won't start communicating again like that, at least for now. I always felt a bit pressured and I'm not the best at maintaining conversations in private. If that changes, I'll make that clear.
That's it for now. I'm excited. I feel like writing again so here's to another chapter.
My inbox is open and will be, just as usual. No more messages to BMT, but you can call me M. Like in the Bond movies 😉

Your blog today has been so eye-opening. I have not been aware of half of what has happened because the block button was my friend when the other side got so nasty. I'm still not holding my breath he's gone. But when you bring up what makes Oliver and Ryan comfortable. It's not so far-fetched to believe that now we know they hang out here they see and read us. And if they saw LFJ cameos creating the personal attacks on Ryan and the distortion of Oliver's storyline. Well, yeah. I can see why LFJ seemed so tense in those BTS shots where he sat there pouting after he spoiled the medal ceremony. Did he get a talking, too? He seemed loathe to engage with the cast. Maybe he thought building up a fandom would secure him space, and instead, he caused chaos. Because it's definitely his fans causing the trouble. None of us went to send hate on the pride post because we aren't that mean. I guarantee their side won't be kind when they post a Buddie IG soon.
Anyways... I guess now I'm looking at it more clear eyed. If Ryan, Oliver and Tim saw this going down I could see them pulling the plug. Especially if the other side tries to turn Gerrard into a Tommy centric story.
Okay, look, Oliver or Ryan alone do not have the type of pull necessary to force Lou to shut down the cameo. Someone talking to Lou after he spoiled the medal thing? Possible. Someone talking to him because every controversy in the fandom lately has his name in the middle and people keep using stuff he said to back them up, including harassing cast members? Extremely possible. Because here's the thing, a controlled ship war is good for business. If it wasn't triangles wouldn't be so popular. The thing here is when one side is getting fuel from an actor who's getting paid to say stuff that goes against the actual promotional stuff they are putting out. Oliver and Ryan may talk a lot about Buck and Eddie's relationship, but they never gave specific and detailed storylines that don't align with show. The cameos add a layer of complications that no one wants to deal with, because it's leading to cast/production members being harassed for not following up on shit they never promised. It's one thing when fandom chaos is just fans being chaotic. When the justification all start looking like "oh but so and so said that in this video" you have a marketing problem in your hands. I guarantee you that even if Lou wasn't told to shut down, he saw the light and shut it down on his own, abc pr people are looking into just adding stuff to everyone's contract to stop all of their actors from doing the type of cameo he was doing anyway because that creates a pr aspect they cannot control. So they stop having control of their own narrative. No one officially promised more Tommy. In fact most of the interviews we saw during 705/06 had them talking about how they were not sure if he was gonna come back because they were still filming, and didn't have all the scripts. The one interview with Lou and Oliver barely talks about them. But then Lou comes out in full gear talking about bt thriving it created an expectation that people are demanding while citing someone linked to the show. And even though he has no creative power, he's the face the audience knows. Most people don't know Tim's face. Why would people take him seriously when the guy they are seeing on screen is saying something else? Obviously, they're gonna try to get control of that back, and getting there talk would explain why he doesn't have the level of "goofy" moments with the cast in the bts stuff.
I do believe that if when promo starts, people start actively attacking Oliver and Ryan if they choose to use both of them together to promote the season, focusing on their comfort is more likely than ignoring it and hoping people will forget about it. Buck and Eddie are the main characters and I've never seen the show do shit that implies they want their cast to be uncomfortable.
And I don't blame Lou for the cameos, like, that's smart as hell. He upped his exposure, the character acceptance, forced himself into another season. I applaud him for using his tools for his gain, it's a business. No one told him not to do it beforehand and he went for it. There's a lot of shit going on using that as fuel, but no one could've predicted the CHAOS this ship would bring. This fandom has been a monoshipper fandom forever. It was buddie or die. I don't think anyone involved expected people to flip. So they don't know how to handle it. In the end, I guess we have to wait for the season to evolve.
#i do believe that if he keeps getting used for attacks on the show people Tommy's stay might end up being cut shirt#but we'll have to see#911#i really need a tag for asks#anon 😌#spy network

Hi!! I really like your blog and it’s great to find an active Hobi blog. I just got into BTS this past month and was wondering if you had recommendations or favorite Jhope (and overall BTS) content/videos to check out for a complete beginner! Even though I’ve casually listened to BTS since 2015/2016, I didn’t follow them or even know all their names/faces well... until recently I watched a couple of Jhope’s stages and was like damnnn, I need to know him and the whole group more!! Iconic stages, funny videos, interesting interviews, whatever you enjoy :) Thank you!
thank u so much thats very sweet 🥹<33 im very honored that youve chosen to ask me this because this is a biiig question n i shall do my best🫡 ok well firstly, i think it would be insane to not start off with hobipalooza
his lollapalooza set can be watched in full here, which u might have already seen, but for an added bonus u can listen to his albums hope world + jack in the box, THEN watch his lolla set to really get a feel for how he brings his songs to life while performing them. his music is great but for me his true stardom lies in his performance and stage presence and hobipalooza will tell u everything u need to know about jhope as a performer 🥹🤩
just some of his many iconic solo performances:
more + arson at the 2022 mnet asian music awards (+ future)
the only live performance hes done of on the street 🥲
also the dynamite + butter performance from that same day just cus u can see the pure joy in his face and the love he has for performing 🫂 despite them both being songs that he originally had less than like 10 seconds of lines in each
his performance and interview on iu's palette my beloved
all of his just dance performances are amazing and consistent but heres a good fancam
as for bts group performances i think its best to look at their older songs as he has not had many lines in their recent releases :/ some that i really love:
mic drop is kind of known as his song, heres their snl performance, most recent performance of it, and another favorite of mine hehe
outro: tear specifically his verse at the end (around the 4 minute mark)
chicken noodle soup at the 2021 muster, its jhopes song but they performed it all together
boy meets evil + blood sweat & tears at 2016 mama
idk im drawing a blank but honestly any of their old concerts or fanmeets/musters are really great. you can find a lot of them here
some dance focused videos since hes the main dancer 🫶
any of his old hope on the street videos that i miss so dearly. theyre just videos of him freestyling for a while and he does it so effortlessly and its rly satisfying to watch. 2020, 2021, with jimin, with jungkook
the iconic no more dream dance break 🙇
this random dance performance 3j did i use to watch this on a monthly basis
another 3j dance video of the megan thee stallion butter remix
i feel like its kinda obvious but i also want to recommend his music videos since theyre all rly amazing but some of my favs are more, daydream, chicken noodle soup, and on the street
ok im gonna stop cus this is getting long and i dont want to overwhelm u but im also definitely forgetting stuff,, everyone else feel free to add stuff in the replies!! anyway i hope this helps!
#my memory is actually so horrible lately but i really tried lmao 😭#but congrats on beginning the process of devoting urself to jhopeism <3#i hope u have fun watching these!!#mail

★ 안녕하세요 - hi ! ؛ ଓ
welcome to KAI's page ! ˊᗜˋ (HYUNJIN VER.!)

Making My Own Tumblr Year In Review
So tumblr is not doing the individual years in review for 2023 like they did the last couple of years :(
This is the first year I’ve really been active on Tumblr and used it as my primary social media, so I was really sad to hear that. But then I decided…why not do it myself?
I posted 1837 times in 2023. That’s 5 times per day.
1748 (95%) of my posts were reblogs, and 89 (5%) of my posts were original.
Blogs I think I reblogged the most? Not in order.
@yipeewahoo
@hoodie-sys
@94erz
@namchyoon
@heybaetae
These are just based on me cmd-f'ing my blog using the names of blogs I remember reblogging a lot. It's probably wrong.
My top 15 most used tags (not 5 because i love tagging and want to show more):
#bts - 1045 posts (yeah obviously)
#bts pics - 803 posts (yeah obviously x2)
#queue attack my heart - 691 posts
#memery - 312 posts
#namjoon - 308 posts (i am so mentally ill)
#hoseok - 167 posts
#jungkook - 166 posts
#seokjin - 138 posts
#jimin - 138 posts (i wrote down seokjin's tag first so i put it higher)
#yoongi - 119 posts
#fic & writing - 108 posts
#taehyung - 103 posts
#bts birthdays - 99 posts
#serious posts - 92 posts
#namjoonposting - 59 posts (my favorite tag)
By the way this was so fucking annoying to do. The archive does not show how many posts you have in a certain tag. For every month I counted the amount of rows in a tag, multiplied it by 8, and added in any rows that didn't quite get up to 8. Then I added all those months together. I had to do that for every tag. Tumblr why is there no easy way to see the number of posts in a tag.
My top 5 posts of 2023:
5. Luffy Tab - 20 notes
Still can't believe we just. got a luffy tab. i just woke up and had a luffy tab
4. BTS Post Search - 27 notes
As it turned out. the poster changed their name to something else so that's why i couldn't find the post from tumblr user soupmoths -- they were an entirely different person. oopsie
Also I ended up being able to reblog it! Someone tagged me!
3. 3D Rant - 32 notes
This post got me my first hate reblog <3
In case anyone is wondering. I still agree with everything I said here.
2. Porn - 99 notes
Not doing the big link preview for this one since that on its own is kinda nsfw. Minors don’t click that link.
But yeah. That makes sense.
Even though there’s only 5 reblogs people find it semi-frequently (especially the past few days, no idea why), so I guess it’s spreading somehow? Which makes me happy :)
The Reddit Post - 2.1k notes
Obviously that was going to be it lol, over 20 times the amount of notes than anything else. My notifications were Dying.
Also, this stuff wasn’t in the actual Year in Review(s), but I’m adding them in for fun.
I liked 21k posts in 2023.
I followed 426 blogs in 2023 (not including the accounts I unfollowed).
I gained 69 followers in 2023 (excluding porn bots and regular bots). Nice.
I started 4 blogs on this account, 1 main blog and 3 side blogs.
I gained 15 mutuals in 2023 <3
All this data was as of December 18th, 2023.

main for kwanisms. you can also find me at: recs ・ reads ・ aesthetic ・ moonsugar
❀ a small about me ❀
Hi, I'm booki or simply ki。
I'm in my early 30's
I'm a multistan and follow many kpop groups and have been since 2007.
My top three are seventeen, stray kids, and ateez.
I also love txt, twice, day6, itzy, nct, super junior, bts, shinee, exo, monsta x (and wonho), got7, big bang, sunmi, chungha, queen wa$abii, futuristic swaver, flowsik, psy, KARD, a handful of western artists, and some j-pop/rock/rap as well.
I'm based in the US (CST). My best friend is Sky (@/yoonguurt).
I love animals and my favorites are snow leopards, red pandas, and giant pandas. (Though I'm pretty partial to any kind of bear and anything raccoon or fox-sized). I don't have any pets currently but plan on getting some soon.
My dream job is to work in China at the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center but I'll settle for a caretaker at Seoul Grand Park Zoo.
I used to be big into anime but I'm more of a casual fan now. My favorites of all time are: Haikyuu!!, InuYasha, Fruits Basket, Sailor Moon, and Tokyo Mew Mew. I used to cosplay and attended anime and comic book conventions for 12 years. Suffice it to say, I'm a veteran when it comes to anime and k-pop.
Something to consider:
My writing blog is 18+ and minors are not welcome.
Obviously, I can't stop yall from reading, just know if you are a minor and I see you interacting with my content, you will be blacklisted and blocked. No exceptions. 18+ means just that. 18 and older. If you don't have your age listed on your blog, you will be blocked. If your blog is blank (i.e: no header, no icon, no title, no reblogs) you will be blocked. The tiny robots that live and work inside [tumblr] will assume you are a bot if your blog is blank. If you're just here to read, I understand but at least customize your blog so the content creators you follow KNOW that you aren't a bot.
Lastly, this website is about sharing content. It's not like Instagram or Twitter. Likes, while appreciated, do absolutely nothing to boost our posts. Reblogs do. Side blogs are incredibly easy to make here. I would know, I have far too many than I care to admit. Please, please, please reblog and leave feedback. It helps us creators learn what readers like and dislike. It also helps our posts reach a wider audience.
anyway, that's enough from me, bye bye for now~ booki ❀

Hi,
Can you please share your opinion about Ateez??
***
I've talked about Ateez on my main blog before (the most recent time is linked here), when I said they are one of the three boy groups most closely following BTS's playbook (in areas such as performance style). The other groups being Stray Kids and RIIZE. I pointed out how the boy groups most closely copying BTS's strategic decisions aren't HYBE boy groups, and that makes the diversity in groups so much more compelling. Anyway, back to your ask.
ATEEZ is the only group in k-pop that does 'noise music' well. Those boys actually know what they're doing. I've liked Ateez since seeing their early covers:
youtube
*
Those boys are passionate, there's a good chunk of their music that actually slaps, and they are easily some of the strongest performers in their generation. They know how to put on a show. I'm happy to see them get more acclaim and popularity these days.
That said, Hongjoong and the guaranteed 'one banger drop' with every release, are the only reasons I generally keep up with Ateez. Their music is very much hit or miss for me (though more hits than misses), and it sometimes frustrates me that songs I would've otherwise loved are ruined by rap/vocal styles and tones I can barely tolerate. Eden knows what he's doing, and he's one of the only k-pop producers whose take on 'noise music' I can stand. Though only in limited doses.
Someone pointed out earlier that I seem to bias leaders in boy groups given the trend of Namjoon, Jungwon, Soobin, Hoshi, Jaehyun, Taeyong, Bang Chan, and now Hongjoong. But with Hongjoong I feel I had little choice in the matter seeing as you can just tell that rascal is a genius who adores Zico.
Not to ramble - I think Ateez is a solid group. Their concept is clear and relevant, their music is distinct and cohesive, all members have a presence that's felt at some point in their albums, and while I prefer other groups in terms of performances, Ateez is one of the best. In my opinion.

I kind of get the vibe you don’t want to talk about jk at all on any blog you seem a bit standoffish on your main when it comes to anything to do with him. imo it did feel weird going on a bts blog that is ‘dedicated’ to jk and sensing distaste. You like someone else now good for you do what makes you happy 👍🏼 I do love skz too and was excited to find out you were getting in to them which lured me to this blog it was just unsettling to come here and see jk hate instead of talk about their comeback 😔
(ok last jk ask for real bc you came from jqks & co. 😂)
if you've been following jeonqkooks for at least a while now, then you probably know that i said i haven't been vibing with jk since early this year. i got a lot more into yoongi, which was and is still great <3 i'd have to disagree and clarify that the "distaste" isn't directed toward jk himself but toward the majority of jk stans. i'm not gonna bring this up over there bc btsblr is a dumpster fire when it comes to jk discourse, but ever since seven came out, i've seen a lot of my mutuals (whom i thought were supposed to be more normal than that lol) suddenly go nuts defending jk and practically telling people to shove it if they're not instantaneously worshipping him and the ground he walks on. if you were there for the seven + 3d discourse on my blog, then you probably know where i stand. and even in an ask that i answered over there after golden was released, i said this was the main reason why i'm not ready to listen to the album. so yeah, all of that has been making me want to avoid jk content for a while bc the stans are just so off putting rn. it's nothing against jk at the end of the day 🤷♀️
and yeah i agree it is so disheartening to just have bts/jk hate over here when this is supposed to be a lino space lol </3

How I Committed (and Failed) a 30-Day Instagram Reels Challenge
Introduction: Setting the Stage
With Instagram pushing Reels as its main content feature, I decided to go all in on a 30-day Reels challenge. The plan was simple: post one Reel every day, complete with a behind-the-scenes follow-up for each video. I aimed for a mix of creative tricks, transitions, and humorous moments, all designed to tap into trending content and (hopefully) reel in some major engagement.
I have a pretty old Instagram account with 1185 followers. Most of them are “dead”. 8 years ago I used this account for mass following in the entrepreneurial niche. At that time I was thinking about starting a website development company. I had been killing my Instagram account for years, posting almost nothing.
I’ve always been passionate about making videos, both recording and editing.
I have made several videos at different times of my life. It seemed very time-consuming. I have a job (I’m a programmer), and I thought I wouldn’t have enough time for videography. I found this short video format reels-tiktok the perfect way to reignite my passion. You still need a strong idea and beautiful visuals for these videos, but you don’t have to create 20-minute films like a YouTuber.
Starting out, I had 1,185 followers, and my videos averaged around 400 views each — not exactly viral, but it was a steady base to build on. My realistic goal was to hit at least 2,000 followers by the end of the month, with a big, optimistic dream of breaking the 10,000-follower mark. Given the success stories I’d read from others, it seemed possible… or at least worth the try.
The second goal was to understand whether I liked videography enough to do it full-time as a part-time job.
Section 1: Why the Challenge Seemed Like a Good Idea
Instagram’s push for Reels was impossible to ignore. With the platform prioritizing short-form video to compete with TikTok, Reels had become the most visible and engaging format on Instagram. People were saying Reels could be the golden ticket to increased reach, with even smaller accounts suddenly landing thousands of new followers. I’d read success stories of creators gaining traction by posting consistently and creating content that played to Instagram’s strengths. Watching others succeed by riding the algorithm’s wave made me think: why not give it a try?
I found tips from Meta on how to grow your Instagram here https://creators.instagram.com/grow . The cornerstone was consistent posting. What could be more consistent than posting every day? Posting twice a day. I planned to post a Reel every day, plus a behind-the-scenes clip, in hopes of capturing both engagement and reach.
On a personal level, the challenge was exciting. It felt like a chance to not only grow my account but to experiment and level up my editing skills. I’ve always enjoyed getting creative with video, and I knew the challenge would push me out of my comfort zone. Plus, the thrill of potential growth was a huge motivator. If all went well, I could finally expand my audience, boost my engagement, and maybe even start doing partnership videos and making money.
Armed with optimism, I launched myself into the 30-day Reels challenge, eager to see where it would take me.
Section 2: The Plan and Execution
The plan was clear: one main Reel each day, followed by a quick behind-the-scenes (BTS) post to keep engagement rolling and give followers a glimpse into the process. I have selected over 30 ideas from Instagram that are somehow related to video editing.
To achieve this, I created a workflow that balanced filming, editing, and daily publishing.
A friend of mine has a YouTube blog and he sets aside Sundays for it. It’s a good approach.
So, Filming sessions would take up part of my Sundays. I would pick 7 videos from my list and set out to shoot them. Some of them were outdoors and I would shoot them first.
Some of the videos I edited on Sundays and some during next week in the evening.
I tried using trending audio for the video, but sometimes added sound effects such as ‘whoosh’ or keyboard ‘tapping’.
Producing daily content wasn’t as smooth as planned, though. Some days, creative blocks slowed me down; other days, technical issues — like lighting or editing glitches — added unexpected hurdles. There were also days when time was short, and producing a high-quality, trend-worthy Reel felt like an impossible task. But I kept at it, juggling my process and refining each step as I adapted to the reality of daily posting. It wasn’t always seamless, but I committed to hitting “post” every day.
Section 3: The Metrics and Reality Check
With 30 days of daily Reels and BTS posts under my belt, I was excited to see the results: follower growth, higher engagement, and a bump in video views. However, reality didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
After 30 days of non-stop posting, the results were underwhelming, to say the least. I stayed consistent, hitting “post” daily without fail, but instead of growth, I saw barely any traction. In the end, I gained just 20–30 new followers, and only a few videos saw any uptick in views beyond my usual numbers.
This challenge might technically be complete, but with such minimal impact, I can’t help but consider it a “fail” — though, as with all failures, there was plenty to learn along the way. Here’s what happened and why this challenge didn’t turn out quite as planned
My follower count is a far cry from my realistic goal of 2,000 or the ambitious dream of 10,000. Engagement didn’t soar as hoped either — while a few Reels did see slightly higher views than my usual numbers, the average engagement stayed about the same. Instead of exponential growth, I was looking at incremental increases that felt more like trickles than waves.
However, neither saw the reach I’d hoped to achieve through daily posting.
It’s tough to say why the challenge fell flat, but I suspect a few things might have contributed:
Weak first seconds of the video. It is too important to have a strong hook. Some of my videos lack it.
Algorithm unpredictability: Instagram’s algorithm is notoriously inconsistent, and despite daily posting and following trends, the platform didn’t seem to reward my account with any extra visibility.
Content saturation: With so many people creating Reels, especially around trending topics, it’s easy to get lost in the noise. Even unique ideas struggled to stand out.
Audience interest: It’s possible my existing followers weren’t as drawn to the daily Reels format or found the BTS updates less engaging than I anticipated.
In the end, the metrics were a reality check that consistent posting doesn’t always lead to big numbers, even when following algorithmic advice and platform trends.
While the hard data showed a lack of growth, the challenge still provided a new perspective on the unpredictable nature of social media, reinforcing that while consistency is important, it’s often only one piece of a much larger puzzle.
Section 4: Lessons Learned and Unexpected Outcomes
Although this 30-day challenge didn’t result in the follower growth I’d hoped for, it was far from a total loss. In fact, diving into daily content creation taught me more about social media — and myself — than I could have anticipated.
Probably the main thing I’ve learned is that I want to keep making videos. I should choose a niche and make my videos more meaningful and valuable.
Consistency Isn’t a Magic Bullet One of the biggest takeaways was that consistency alone doesn’t guarantee results. While consistent posting helps build a routine, it’s not necessarily rewarded with instant growth, especially when the algorithm remains unpredictable. In the future, I’d balance consistency with more in-depth planning for content that aligns closely with what my audience wants to see.
The Power of Experimentation Posting daily meant I had the freedom to experiment with different content formats, styles, and editing tricks. Some of these experiments, like https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBqZ3juI8X-/ , had better-than-average engagement and may serve as a base for future content ideas.
Managing Creative Burnout The grind of producing daily content brought me face-to-face with creative burnout. I quickly realized that creativity can’t always be forced on a strict schedule. This experience taught me to pace myself and respect my creative process, balancing fresh ideas with realistic production timelines to avoid burnout.
Taking Pressure Off the Algorithm Finally, I realized the importance of creating content for my own enjoyment and improvement, rather than constantly trying to hack the algorithm. Instagram’s algorithm changes frequently, and trying to keep up can easily overshadow creativity. Now, I’m more focused on creating content that feels authentic rather than stressing about instant growth.
Section 5: Final Thoughts and Advice
After 30 days of pouring time and effort into daily Reels, my takeaway is this: growth on social media is anything but straightforward. Despite doing everything “by the book” — posting consistently, following trends, and keeping up with the latest algorithm tips — the results didn’t match my initial expectations. But in the end, this experience highlighted the fact that the journey itself holds its own value, even if the outcome isn’t what we envision.
If you’re thinking of diving into a similar challenge, here are a few things I’d suggest:
#1 Focus on Quality Over Quantity
While it’s tempting to think daily posting will boost growth, your audience will remember the quality of your content more than your posting frequency. Aim to create Reels that you’re genuinely excited to share, even if that means posting a bit less often.
The Meta article says you should post 10 reels a month to have a better chance of being recommended. That’s about 3 videos a week. That’s not a lot. But there are a lot of very popular accounts that post less frequently.
#2 Experiment and Take Risks
A challenge like this is the perfect opportunity to experiment with styles, topics, or editing techniques. Don’t be afraid to take creative risks; you might stumble upon something that resonates strongly with your audience — or that you personally enjoy making.
#3 Expect the Unexpected with the Algorithm
Remember that the Instagram algorithm is unpredictable, and growth isn’t guaranteed even with consistent posting. Focusing on what you can control — like connecting with your audience or producing unique content — will help you get more satisfaction from your efforts, algorithm or not.
#4 Don’t Let the Numbers Define Success
Followers, views, and likes are just one measure of success. A low view count doesn’t negate the creative growth, new skills, or connections you might gain along the way. Consider what success means to you beyond metrics.
#5 Be Kind to Your Creative Process
Conclusion: Why This “Failed” Challenge Wasn’t a Total Loss
Although I didn’t hit the ambitious follower goals I set for myself, this 30-day Instagram Reels challenge turned out to be anything but a failure. In fact, the experience taught me valuable lessons that numbers alone could never capture.
Through daily content creation, I gained a clearer sense of what the audience enjoys, honed my editing and creative skills. While I may not have achieved viral fame, I did gain a sense of satisfaction from pushing myself, trying new things, and seeing just how far my ideas could go.
Perhaps most importantly, this challenge reshaped my approach to social media. I’m now less fixated on quick follower counts and more focused on sustainable, quality content that aligns with what I genuinely enjoy creating. Now I have a plan and next steps. I will choose a niche, I will publish videos less often, but I will make more meaningful and qualified videos.
By embracing the process over the outcome, I learned that “failure” in terms of follower count doesn’t mean the journey was a waste. On the contrary, it revealed strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for growth that I wouldn’t have found any other way.
Ultimately, this “failed” challenge reminded me that numbers are only part of the story. The real reward lies in the skills I developed, the resilience I built, and the perspective I gained.
