VENEER TECH+ MOD

So.... I'm sure y'all know by now...

I hit 20 members on Patreon a couple weeks ago, and to celebrate it, I released a content dump. It had really small CC in there, but one of the things included was a career mod I had made. Because that was the thing I spent the most time on, I posted about it on Twitter, and it did a lot better than I thought it would.

Now there's like 230 more of you and it's kind of one of my staple mods. 😭

I seriously want to thank y'all for all the love and support you've given me over these past few weeks. This still feels so surreal and I'm not fully able to articulate how I feel, but I appreciate you all so, so much.

After getting some ideas, I decided to expand the mod even further. Now, along with the career, you get 2 traits, corresponding pie menus, a rabbithole interaction, and a second version of the career with altered wages. Enjoy!

TRAITS

Veneer Tech

Were you the child who gave their parents makeovers they didn't have the heart to tell you were bad? Do you want to feel as important as a doctor but don't want to waste your time on boring topics like gum disease? Are you a sadist? If you fall into any - or all - of these categories, you'll love being a veneer tech. Just because you ain't on some board doesn't mean you can't make board money! All you really need is some glue, gloves, and Invisalign, anyway! Hell, if people cared about taking advantage of people, half the businesses out now would be closed. Shops shut all the way up. You deserve to get your bag too, right? ...maybe your first investment should be a lawyer.

How to give sims the Finessed trait:

To give sims the 'Finessed' trait, you have to use the Veneer Tech introduction. Once the introduction is used, target sims (the sims you're talking to) will automatically get the trait. That's if it's positive, though...

Veneer Tech sims will get between $250-$500 for each positive introduction!

Veneer techs get $5,000 and a small follower gain from hosting a seminar and $200 simoleons from announcing a sale, while Finessed sims also get a follower gain from exposing scammers.

You're in pain. You're in agony. You're in a perpetual purgatory of stank breath. And you want out!

Under Travel, Finessed sims now have the option to get their veneers removed:

They'll scroll for a little bit to check in with an actual dentist before heading out for three to four hours.

Once they come back, the Finessed trait will be removed and they can start a new, scam free life

VENEER TECH CAREER (LOWERED WAGES)

The same career, just with lowered (better) wages.

When I first made the mod, I forgot that the Simoleons per hour were... well, hourly. I don't know why, like if I was tired or something, but that lead to the top level in the career giving sims $60,000 a day, which means $420,000 a WEEK... and since there's usually 4 weeks in an in-game calendar year that means $1,680,000 a YEAR...

I know veneer techs get a lot of money, but at some point this gets absurd. 😭

So I altered the hourly wages a bit. They're still wayyy more than average sims get for their jobs, but not like $21,000,000~ every human year.

Level 1 -> $250 (from $500)

Level 2 -> $500 (from $1,000)

Level 3 -> $1,000 (from $5,000)

Level 4 -> $5,000 (from $20,000)

Celebrity Scammer Branch -> $10,000 / M-F (from $50,000 / M-SN)

Seminar Leader Branch -> $7,500 (from $25,000)

If you still want the higher wages, they're still available with the original mod! <3 This is just for people who want a little more of a challenge. (emphasis on little, lol)

You just got your online certificate from the 6 hour seminar your favorite TikToker hosted and are now ready to service the streets with your dental expertise. The only problem is you don't have no expertise and are not a dentist.

But if that didn't stop your "mentor", why should it stop you? Try and make something shake for a little while. Worst comes to worst, you gotta flee the state... or the country...

...you really should look into that lawyer, friend.

Shade Room Famous

Due to the rampant amount of horror stories you have, your face is now plastered all over The Shade Room, the largest urban gossip blog in all of the US.

But to your surprise and mine tool - it seems like the saying about all attention is true, because people are now lined up your block waiting for the Smilez special.

Guess all you can do now is make sure your career lasts longer than your teeth.

Viral on TikTok

Fame looks nice on you, doesn't it? At least online fame does. After getting some shine on Shade Room, Hollywood Unlocked, The Neighborhood Talk, and even more, you've managed to rack up one million followers on TikTok. You're almost ready to release your own seminar!

Be careful, though, newfound fame brings newfound opposition. And with your multiple medical and ethical violations it won't take much to get unplugged.

The Plug

After all of the hours of hard scamming you put in, you've done it. You've got the fame, the fortune, the mid-tier rapper/influencer connections, and about 21 different YouTube videos about your crimes.

The only thing to do now is sit back, count up, and not get indicted.

And hey, if that doesn't work? At least you're making enough for a one way to Jamaica.

In doing so, not only have you managed to stack up even more, but now you look wise and charitible to 5% of Instagram users. Win win!

It doesn't matter if most people think you still scamming. Or the fact you don't send out all the invites to people who signed up.

Dawn Of The Simfected: Let's Get Started

DON’T READ AHEAD from where you are.

DAY 1

This day picks up directly from the prologue. The information you have is what has been given to you in news broadcasts you’ve already seen. You’ve been instructed to stay in your home; however, at 8:00 AM the following emergency message appears on your television and is announced over the radio:

"For emergency purposes only, the town is allowing residents to leave their home for a brief interval to gather supplies at an emergency outpost established at the local grocery store. Supplies are limited so each household may only spend up to $500 at the grocery store and get 2 books. Residents are being released on a street-by-street basis. Residents on your street are released at 4:00 PM and must be back in their home by 6:30 PM. Streets will be blockaded (impassible) until the indicated times. Anyone not returning in time will encounter the police and have all purchased items confiscated.”

Note – Order groceries by clicking on the fridge when you return home. You can visit other areas in the city but you are not allowed to leave San Myshuno world. Your sims don't have weapons yet so if a zombie does attack them, you can not intervene. If they push them away, you can save your sim but if they get bitten then it's over for them.

DAY 3

The first cases of the R8-GE virus has been reported in your town. From this point forward, any ill sims must be checked for the virus. All supernatural are considered infected and cannot join the household or be interacted with.

Your neighbour comes knocking, very worried about the news. As you chat away about these new develoments, your neigbour notices a item in your apartment that they like. They are wiling to trade for a boardgame so you can be more entertained. Give them the keyboard for a the Don't Wake the Llama game table and some milk and bread (order groceries)

DAY 7

The citizens of your town have demanded an opportunity to leave their homes for leisure. Your street is free to go anywhere they like between the hours of 6P - 9P. Stores are not open; you are not allowed to buy anything. This is a great opportunity to get out, stretch your legs, take a drive, and meet someone new like the Sim you’ve noted gardening and crafting on the rooftop across the way. You have a strange feeling you might need a friend like him pretty soon. Remember, if you touch anyone, you must do a virus check.

You also aren't a city sim like the rest, you know how to fish and you can see where things are going. Your Sim sneaks out everyday to catch fish for your household and at night, you study things like cooking and gardening because you know things will only get worse from here. Your neighbour sees your catch and offers to clean and cook it for you if they can have some. As you share a meal, you get to know each other. You decide to team up and stick together. Your new roommate brings with them a handgun and ammo. You never know when you might need it. Click on a random young adult or teenage Sim and add them to your household. Don't create a Sims to add as you want this to be as random as possible. Give your Sim the fisherman part time job.

Try and find Bill the rooftop Sim and make friends with him.

DAY 10

While the virus seems to be widespread your city has managed to contain it. In an effort to allow citizens to refresh their supplies, your street is being permitted to go to the grocery store only from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM. All other businesses are closed.

When you return home, you go to check on your downstairs neighbour. He's a army vet and you'd like to pick his brain about what is happing and maybe sneak some groceries into his fridge as you know he's too proud to ask for help. When you get to his apartment, there's a note on the door "I am not a coward, but I am so strong. It is hard to die. P.S Take care of Soldier." Your neighbour liked giving you history lessons when ever you stop to have a chat. You recognize the words as being the last words of explorer Meriwether Lewis. With a heavy hart, you slowly push open the door. Soldier's is in his cage, all his toys and food neatly packed in bags. The bedroom door is closed and you decide to not look, you'd like to remember the old man as he was.

A: you add a pet to your household. B: one of the other neighbours takes Soldier, looking after a pet now is more work than you can handle.

DAY 14

In an attempt to quell local protests springing up, the city has yet again agreed to open up the leisure facilities to you. Your street is free to leave from 8:00A - 11:00A.

At the park, a fight breaks out. You don't want to get involved and risk getting exposed but you see a little old lady get knocked into the street and a car coming full speed, you jump to pull her out of the way. You sit her down on a bench to check if she's okay. You strike up a conversation and make a new friend. Before she goes, she gives you a knitting bag and a book with canning recipes stating that where she's going, she won't need them. You hug her tightly not caring about the risk and go home realizing that the world will never be the same again. As you get ready to leave, you notice the little old lady left her bag full of groceries.

Note - you Sim can now start knitting and canning. Order $400 of groceries.

DAY 17

Many cases of R8-GE virus have been reported in your city and the situation continues to deteriorate. The city has managed to contain it but for how long? The increased number of sick Sims has made public services hard to provide. At this point:

All services, with the exception of police and fire department, are not available. (When getting groceries, you'll have to use the produce stand in the neighbourhood) Power & Water: Due to decreased staff, the power plant can no longer provide 24-hour services. Hope you have candles!

Shift + Click on the mailbox and inact the water and power NAP plans.

DAY 20

The morning news update flips on promptly at 8:00A. Your town is seeking volunteers to get help to those who need it. This will raise morale and help reduce the criminal acts of desperation that are threatening the streets. Volunteers will be able to leave their home at any time today.

Food must be presented as a gift to someone from another household; however, the assumption is you would not directly touch them to give them the food. It can be prepared or unprepared food or something else that would be considered critical need during a time like this.

Your Sims must do as many odd jobs as possible.

As you walk home that night, you notice a homeless Sim behind the dumpster fighting with someone. As you get closer to help, you notice the Sim is covered in blood, they reach out to you but multiple hands appear from the darkness and drag the screaming Sim deeper into the darkness. You run home, shaking and feeling a deep primal fear like you are no longer top of the food chain.

“Flu my ass” you mumble as you lock your door.

DAY 23

The army is distributing supplies. You receive $500 groceries, medicine and two sleeping bags. You ask the young soldier what’s with the sleeping bags seeing as everyone is staying indoors. He looks around nervously and whispers that you might need it soon. As you go back up to your apartment, you notice some of your neighbours are packing up and leaving. You hear glass break in one of the apartments, as you get closer to the door something slams into it growling and scratching. As much as you want to believe it’s a dog, you think of the homeless sim and something tells you its almost time for you to leave too.

DAY 26

Disaster! Due to the general lack of maintenance, the town’s power plant explodes leaking deadly toxic waste into the water supply. While water can be purified for drinking/bathing, the fish population is decimated and any that survived are toxic to eat. No more fishing.

You decide to go down to the camp to get more information about what to do next and notice the camp is empty. All the medical staff and soldiers are gone. A single truck drives by with a small group of soldiers, your run after them yelling qeustions and begging them to stop. You are ignored but just before the truck dissapears around the corner, a soldier yells "Get to the roof, they'll fly you out!" You run home and pack what you can carry. Food and a few other small items. Your building doesn't have rooftop access but your new friend Bill does. Bill is happy to see you all and although it's windy on roof and cold, you feel a little safer. From this point forward, Sims can’t do anything at night other than play games, cook and sleep as there are no lights and it’s not safe at night. Your Sims will also be tested for the virus as of today whenever they come in contact with new Sims. Quit all jobs. It’s time to choose which Sim will be a scavenger, home-maker and builder.

Scavengers will be the only Sim to leave the lot from now on, choose whoever has the highest athletic skill or klepto trait. They will go dumpster diving, collect harvestable, fight other scavengers for supplies and protect the lot against raiders. Give this Sim the zombie hunter trait from the Sac zombie menu. Select auto shoot zombies and collect loot.

Home-makers will never leave the lot. They will garden, tend to animals, cook, care for children and seniors, clean and make clothing. Choose a Sim with the family-oriented trait for this role. You home-maker needs to knit as much clothing as they can to use for trading.

Builders use what scavengers find to create what is needed. Builders do repairs, use the workbench, make candles and upgrade items. They are also responsible for beekeeping and keeping foxes away.

Only the Sims selected for these jobs can do them, you can’t have a Scavenger cook food or a builder go fishing,

All outfit categories must be changed to your Sims everyday outfit. Think of how you would dress in this type of scenario. You can sleep in your underwear and have a warm jacket for winter.

DAY 30

The police are no longer able to contain the streets! There is a mad run on the few remaining supplies at the grocery store. Watching the chaose erupt down below, you decide it's time to arm yourself before what is happening below finds it's way to your rooftop. You decide to skip the grocery run and go to the abandoned medical camp. Maybe they left some ammo and weapons behind. You (scavenger Sim) make a run for the camp. The streets are empty. Abondoned cars, doors open, luggage strewn all around. In the distance you can see buildings on fire. You double check the gun strapped to your leg and decide to go low and fast.

You get to the med camp and find it fairly intact. You manage to get some first aid spray and 5 units of food (3 items=1 unit). As you look around, you stumble into a restricted area. You look for supplies and stumble upon the mother load. Large guns, lots of ammo and a crate full of items marked with lables like "infected repellend" and "confusion mist". You also find a file about a secret lab, a possible cure and one name Sigworth. Before you can grab anything else, you hear footsteps…lots of footsteps. You take a peak outside and see a crowd of Sims walking into the camp but something looks very off with these Sims.

Clothes torn, blood smeared all over them and their eyes are clouded. You can see some are badly injured but the pain doesn't affect them. As you watch and listen it hits you

"Holy shit, their zombies." you whisper as you watch them, paralized by fear. You notice they move like a herd of sheep, one following the other without looking around. Its time to get the heck out of here so you grab for your backpack only to knock over a tray sending its contents flying and turing the herd towards you.

Roll the dice: Even numbers - you see a gap in the fence outside the mobile unit you are in. You grab the bag with guns, the medical supplies and manage to get out a window and out of the camp before the heard surrounds you. Uneven numbers - the herd moves fast, you only have enough time to grab your backpack and a gun or the med supplies.

Back home you tell the others what you saw, show them the file and decide to start keeping a diary. Maybe there is a way to fix all of this.

DAY 35

You hear a loud BOOM followed by the sound of laughter off in the distance. You awake in the dark, your best guess, around 3:00 AM. You peek down at the street and see nothing but darkness. In the interest of safety, your scavenger is chosen to go investigate (if you have two that share the same skill, pick one).

Your sim sneaks outside in darkness peering around for any signs of trouble. It doesn't take you long to find it. You see fire burning in the distance. It looks like the local hooligans have attacked someone. You hear the roar of an engine and duck behind the dumpster thankful your camp on the roof is completely dark. A car of screaming hoods drives right past as if they were chasing something. You breathe a sigh of relief then hear a timid voice from the darkness a distance behind you. "P…please help me".

CHOICE: You squint at the form of a small child, approximately 7 or 8 years old. She (or he if you choose) is in rags, dirty, and looks generally sickly. She is not close enough to you to do a virus check right now and you warn her to stay put. You strike up a conversation with her from a safe distance and learn that she was in the recently burned home. Her last remaining family member, her older brother, got involved with a group of bad kids and a rival gang attacked their home tonight. Her brother abandoned her and drove away. Do you…

Tell her to hit the street. No more mouths to feed and no more virus checks here. If so, she runs off sobbing in the dark. No need to do a virus check.

Help her. This means a virus check against the sim speaking to her ONLY (the rest of the household is tucked safely away).

A. If your sim is infected and survives the virus, you can, at your own peril, try to bring her into your home BUT each family member will have to make a virus check. If everyone dies you cannot add her.

B. If your sim passes the check, she is not infected and you may add her if you wish (no other family members need to roll). His/her traits must either be animal enthusiast or loves the outdoors and must be pale and thin. She takes you to her brother’s secret stash. You find 20 units of food, a tent, medicine and $500.

Edited Lamare’s 50 Lifetime Wants file, for lazy sims

So @lamare-sims made a fabulous 50 Lifetime Wants mod. But me and my sims are lazy AF, and were never going to complete the number of earnings, makeovers etc. that Lamare put as default.

In case anyone else has unproductive sims, I have uploaded my edited WantTuning_MG.package file. Everything else you need will be here still, look there for all files and information! I have also edited the amounts for some of the default Lifetime Wants that come with the game, so look below closely! If anyone wants to edit their own file, Lamare kindly uploaded a tutorial here.

TS3, boderderless, new machines and FPS limit!!!

I never knew I would be making this post till few hours back, but until now it wasn’t really much known that sims 3 in windowed mode could be run with FPS limit, which forced a lot of people to run the game in full screen. Recently a friend (find him here) and I discovered how to limit FPS for both 1.67 and 1.69 game versions in windowed mode.

Why is this important?

Well, on newer PC’s, ones with a GPU processing power that can easily render recent games, Sims 3 is expected to run exceedingly well... but because Sims 3 is so poorly designed/optimized on a technical level, there is a problem with that. Sims 3 has no FPS limitation, so on newer cards, FPS can get up to even 1k FPS which is INSANE. Personally I had from 500-700 FPS on loading screens myself. This means that: 1. Your card is being overworked and overheated and will be damaged 2. The in-game micro stutter that happens frequently is because the game constantly has short but extreme peaks in frame rate (from 60 - 600 FPS) This is why it’s desired to FPS limit TS3.exe or TS3W.exe!!!

What does windowed mode have to do with all of this?

It’s possible to limit your game FPS in full screen mode trough your graphic control panel application. Though for me it did not work, a lot of people report it working for them. Until now it wasn’t known that the same could be done for windowed mode, meaning users with high end PC running the game windowed were doomed to experience GPU crashes or even worse component death. Now however, a fix has been discovered.

But why would I want to run windowed then?

In full screen mode, game is rendered way darker, which is why EA just lazily slapped on a brightness filter, which makes the whole game brighter than it actually should be. This also means that screenshots of the game taken in full screen (unless they are taken with in-game screenshot feature, which is lower quality) are practically unusable since they are too dark.

When in full screen, the game goes out of memory faster, especially if you are alt tabbing (switching windows) a lot.

Ok, ok but how do I get rid of borders now?

That’s why this guide is here. For that you will need a third party borderless games application. You can find it here, but this will be detailed later in this step by step guide.

THE GUIDE

Before we start, if you want to have your games set up to run well, read trough and apply fixes from these guides:

They are all similar in nature but have their own additions to making the game run better. They are extremely helpful and effective. They even include guides on how to FPS limit the game in full screen if you want to keep playing the game that way. Also, be sure to read the last ( 7.) point in this guide as it is important and will determine if you even want to do this or not.

Now that that’s out of the way...

1. First thing to do is run the game and make sure that full screen is off. This is luckily easy to do. If it’s not off, turn it off in options:

2. Next, if you’ve applied FPS limit trough your graphic control application as advised by guides, make sure it’s disabled because it will interfere with this fix. 3. Once you are sure that it is disabled, get 3booter and FPSlimiter from this page: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=15585.0 (files in first two posts) 4. Open both .zip archives and extract all their contents to: - C:/Program Files (x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin or -C:/Program Files x(86)/Origin Games/The Sims 3/Game/Bin or whatever your install location of the game is.

4.a. If your game version is 1.69 there is one more step here. Once the files are extracted, you will need to rename launcher like this: Sims3Launcher.exe to Launcher.exe And then download and extract this new launcher exe in the bin:

Rename it to Sims3Launcher.exe 5. Now that you have the fixes set up properly, you can run the game: - Trough 3booter.exe if you are on version 1.67 (feel free to make a shortcut) or - Trough new launcher, Sims3Launcher.exe, if you are on 1.69. Note that your shortcuts to game launcher will now point to this new launcher due to filename. If you want to use the old launcher, make a shortcut for Launcher.exe

6. BUT WAIT!!! What about that borderless thingy m’ bob? Well here comes that part of setting up windowed mode to look like it’s full screen. First you want to go to the link of the program, I’ll post it again for convenience: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases Then scroll down a bit and download this:

Once that’s downloaded, install it and run it, after you’ve ran the game in windowed mode. You will be greeted with this:

To have your game in borderless mode, add it to the list on the left by selecting your game name from the list. It will be the name of the last expansion you are running, with [TS3W] next to it ([TS3] if you haven’t installed FPS limiter on 1.69). After the game is selected, click the arrow

And your game will automatically turn into a full screen-like application. IMPORTANT!: DO NOT CLOSE borderless gaming app, only minimize it. It has to run at all times while your game is running or the game will stop being borderless. Make sure to set borderless gaming app to run on windows launch if you don’t want to bother reopening it every time you start your PC.

7. Final notes. (Still IMPORTANT) If you’ve gotten this far, congratulations, you are one patient simmer willing to put in effort to perfect your sims 3 game experience. Not everything can be perfect however, and there are some additional notes to take care of. - First, the FPS limiter program only limits the game to 30FPS. People who have had the game run at 60FPS might be disappointed by this. However the game already runs it’s animations at only 30FPS so there is no need for additional frames. However it’s still you choice. If you do see a difference with 60FPS and don’t want to change it, you can still run the game full screen with 60FPS graphics control limiter. -Second, if you are NOT experiencing FPS higher than 60 in any part of the game (even load screens and main menu), there is no need to install this fix. However be vary that whenever you change hardware, especially GPU, you might need to take care of this. -Third and final, as a side note, there is a program that lets you unpark your CPU cores for that final addition of sims 3 smooth experience. HOW TO VISIT RESORTS

How to set up VISITING resort

Place/Build the lot

Avoid using “generic” lot types

Put the lot trait “resort/hotel” on the lot

Visit the lot

Quick Information

You will pay $50 to enter and $50 daily at 11:00am

You can request things from the staff, alert them of things, and even tip them!It can take 2-3 hours for the lot trait to activate so I recommend going at 4-5am or 6-7pm

The resort lot trait can be put on any lot except generic! I have tested it out on residential, ancient ruins, and island buffs lot types only and those worked.

HOW TO BECOME RESORT OWNER

How to set up YOUR resort

Place/Build lot

Avoid using “generic” lot type FOR NOW! You can change the lot type to “generic” after you get gold on the event that one time!

Use your phone to plan the "become resort owner" event!

Quick Information

When you get gold you have to travel to your lot when you want to open the resort and use your menu to open the resort!It can cost $500-1000 to open your resort

The higher your skill level is the more more you will make when you get bronze, silver, or gold! You can gain the skill by getting bronze, gold, or silver. You can also gain the skill by interacting with the customers using the menu.

DO NOT put the “resort” lot trait on YOUR resort!

You can interact with your customers and staff!You can brag about owning a resort to other sims which gives materialistic sims some satisfaction!

Opening the resort lasts 24 hours but you can end it whenever you want to!

This part of the mod works by using a lot trait. Please avoid using the generic lot type for the lot trait because it did not work for me.

Put the "hotel/resorts" lot trait on the lot.

When you first arrive it can take up to 2-3 hours for the resort to open so do not leave the lot! This is because lot traits can take a while to activate. If you want you can arrive at night time and sleep those hours away or come super early like 4-5am. You will know for sure when the resort is "open" because you will be charged! Once you are charged the staff and people will slowly start to come. People will come all throughout the day and some people will leave!

Does visiting cost?

You will be charged $100 to enter the lot which covers everything the resort offers including food! After that each day that you are still there you will be charged $50 at 11:00am so if you don't want to stay again then leave before 11:00am.

Visitor benefits!

As a visitor you will be able to request birthday cakes, wedding cakes, or just regular food!

You can also stand up for yourself if the staff isn't doing what they're supposed to do!

You will have sims cleaning up after you 24/7 and feeding you!

You will be able to meet new sims or even run into a few friends that you already know!

How to Become A Resort Owner DO NOT USE THE LOT TRAIT

How to become one?

You will have to start the "become resort owner" event by using your phone. You will only have to start this event ONE time if you get gold. When the event starts you will have to take care of the resort by yourself. Don't worry though because you won't have a lot of people to take care of! You will have to cook, clean, entertain and interact with the guests!

IMPORTANT: You will have to wait 2-3 hours after getting gold to actually get the resort menu to popup on your sim.

How to setup?

You will have to build/place the resort lot! The lot cannot be generic for the "become resort owner" event because generic lots don't always show up for events. You can however change your resort to generic after you get gold because you won't have to use the phone anymore.

When you become one

You will be able to open your resort by going to the lot that your resort is on and clicking on your sim to open it which can be done at any time and you will finally have your own staff! MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON YOUR RESORT LOT BEFORE YOU PRESS OPEN! DO NOT PUT THE RESORT/HOTEL LOT TRAIT ON YOUR RESORT LOT. When you open the resort you will be charged $500-$1000 to cover the staff and what it takes to run the place! You will make money based on your "resort" skill and on how well you ran the place! The event lasts 24 hours but you can close anytime that you want!

How to quit / Sell your resort?

Use your menu on your sim to sell your resort! The higher your resort skill is the more you will get for your resort. The menu will disappear when you come back and if you ever want to come one again all you have to do is plan the event again! You will not lose your resort skill process!

Resort skill

You can build this skill by opening the resort! Getting gold will get you the most benefits and of course money! You can also slowly build this skill by interacting with your customers using the resort menu! You will slowly gain this skill after completing the event with a bronze or higher metal.

Owner benefits

Not only will you get paid thousands as your skill grows but you can command your staff members to do certain tasks. You can even give them bonuses!

The higher your resort skill the more people you can bring into your resort!

You get a new social interaction that allows you to brag about your resort! Which is perfect for materialistic sims.

Separate showers from toilets or make public bathrooms.

Add a lot of things to do!

Multiple receptionist desks.

Use the island buffs lot type or ancient ruins it runs smoothly!

Don't but the resort on a generic lot it doesn't work.

Organizing the trip

If the events you'll be going to are in the same city as the one you're travelling to, it'll probably be very easy to organize everything, but if you have to move around or go to more than one live, you'll have to look for transport, acommodation, food, etc., so I've made this guide sharing a bit of my experience in case it is useful for someone when they are organizing their own trip.

Transport

Even though it's possible to buy a JR pass, which enables us to take any JR trains, some metro lines and some buses for the period we get it for, we thought it was a bit too expensive. Also, once activated, you have to use it in a certain period of time (that is to say, if you have a 7-day pass, you can't use it on 7 random different days, it will last exactly for a week since you first used it). However, it's true that travelling on train is really comfortable and fast, so if you don't mind spending a little bit more, maybe this option is worth it for you. Thinking that the tickets had been already quite expensive, we tried to look for other alternatives and we found a bus company, Willer, that offers passes for more affordable prices. There is a 3-day pass, a 5-day pass and a 7-day pass, but they don't have to be consecutive days, you have a few months when you can use them any time. Depending on the dates you'll be travelling, you can also get a discount: if you travel only from Monday to Thursday, passes are cheaper. Each day you use the pass, you can take up to 3 day buses and one night bus. After checking our live plan, we chose the 5-day pass including weekends. Also, we always took night buses, so we could sleep on the bus and save some money from the hotel. Night buses usually leave between 10 pm and 12 pm from Tokyo's city center and arrive at the destination around 7 am, so it's possible to use the rest of the day to go sightseeing. Plus, busses are adapted, so seats are more comfortable, they have a thing to cover your head in case you want more privacy, they have lockets to charge your electronic devices, etc. They'll also make a few stops and you can get off the bus to buy something or use the bathroom at the service area.

However, we didn't go to every live by bus, so I'll briefly explain our travel plan:

Bus to Sendai (July 5th) - Day 1 of the bus pass // Live at Sendai // Night at Sendai (July 6th) and train to Utsunomiya (July 7th) // Live at Utsunomiya // Train to Tokyo (July 7th)

Train to Saitama (July 9th) // Live at Saitama // Train to Tokyo (July 9th)

Bus to Kanazawa (July 11th) - Day 2 of the bus pass // Live at Kanazawa // Bus to Tokyo (July 12th) - Day 3 of the bus pass

Bus to Nagoya (July 14th) - Day 4 of the bus pass // Live at Nagoya // Bus to Tokyo (July 15th) - Day 5 of the bus pass

Bus to Osaka (July 17th) // Live at Osaka // Bus to Tokyo (July 18th)

As you can see, the last two trips Tokyo-Osaka-Tokyo weren’t included in the bus pass and I had to buy them separately, but doing that by train can be around 15000 yen, while it was only 5000 yen by bus. For Saitama, since it's only half an hour from Tokyo, you can easily get there by train for around 500 yen. On the other side, since the lives at Sendai and Utsunomiya took place one after the other, we decided to spend the night at Sendai and go directly from there to Utsunomiya (it's half-way between Sendai and Tokyo). In any case, Willer doesn't have buses from Sendai to Utsunomiya, so going by bus wasn't even an option. At first, we thought that it was possible to take local trains, which are slower and, therefore, cheaper, but when we arrived to the train station we were told that there were only shinkansen (bullet train). When you buy your tickets, it's possible to choose a carriage with reserved or unreserved seats. We chose the latter because it was a bit cheaper and, since the train had such a high frequency (maybe it's just that it wasn't rush hour, I don't know), there were a lot of empty seats, so we could sit down. If you look for information about the tickets and timetables online on Hyperdia (you can only check, you can't buy tickets), it might be understood that the price of the tickets will be the one that pops up when you select your seat type.

However, it isn't like that, to that amount on that menu, you have to add the base price that is written in the "fare" column (then, if we choose an unreserved seat, it won't be 3530 yen, but 8040). You can probably picture our faces when the lady selling the tickets told us the actual price. In order to go back to Tokyo from Utsunomiya, there are local trains, so you can choose between going on a bullet train (40 minutes more or less) or take one of those local trains (an hour and a half), which are also a lot cheaper (1500 yen one-way).

Acommodation

As I mentioned before, we were travelling on night buses so we didn't have to pay for a night at a hotel. However, we did have to stay for one night at Sendai. The original plan was to not spend a cent on acommodation and just find any way to spend the night there, but when we arrived to Sendai we saw that it wasn't that simple. At first, we thought that, being summer, since it's hot in Japan, we could just stay at a park or something. But rainy season was a bit longer that year and, once there, it was raining and cold. Since we couldn't stay in the open, we tried to find a place to stay. We thought that, since konbini are open 24 hours and some have an area with sofas or seats to eat, we could just stay there. This might sound like a good idea, but in fact that area will be closed by 11 pm, probably to avoid people doing what we were planning to do. Therefore, now out of options, we finally faced the fact that we would have to look for a real acommodation. Being only one night, we didn't mind sharing the bathroom or bedroom, so we ended up choosing a hostel that was 2000 yen per person. In case someone goes to Sendai and wants to stay there, it was the Sendai Guesthouse Umebachi. It is a traditional house, rooms are for four people and the bathroom was shared (there were two showers, but they are closed so no one will see you). In the mornings they offer coffee, milk and toasts, so we could grab some food before leaving. Plus the staff speaks English. The only problem we encountered was the bed, since it was a futon. It was okay at first, but not being used to sleeping on a hard surface and given that the sun rises early and there are no window blinds, we were already awake at 5:30 am.

Food

Depending on your budget, you can either go to restaurants or find cheaper options. Among those, konbini food is okay. For 300-400 yen there are premade dishes (and they are surprisingly yummy), but for 100-200 yen there are sandwiches, small bento boxes (with omelette, chicken, sushi, etc.) and onigiri (the tuna and mayo one is a hard drug). If you buy cup ramen, you can ask them to prepare it for you, and you can also ask them to heat the premade dish you've picked. If you go to restaurants, there are some Japanese fast food chains, like Yoshinoya, CoCoIchi or Tenya, but I admit we just went in whatever place we found, be it a konbini, restaurant or fast food chain. If it helps, we found out about some traditional food from different cities and I can link to some restaurants we went to, in case someone wants to go to the same place.

Tokyo: Our criteria to pick restaurants was completely random, but we went to some that we liked. In Asakusa, at Kaminarimon Maruka we had some cold noodles. In Shibuya, we ate at a sushi restaurant, Uobei. It is not the best sushi ever, but it's okay and cheap (it will arrive to your seat on a conveyor belt), and in Shinjuku we went to a yakiniku restaurant, Rokkasen. In Ikebukuro, even though it's a chain, we went to Tonkatsu Wako. I love tonkatsu, and the rice, cabbage and miso soup are "refillable", so you could ask for more, it was awesome.

Sendai: There was a restaurant near the hostel that they recommended to us. It is quite small, but the owners were nice and they were fascinated about us being there. The staff doesn't speak English, but they asked if yakitori and sashimi were okay (I loved the sashimi), and we ate that. Some salarymen found us entertaining and ordered typical dishes from Sendai for us to try. I don't remember what the first two were, although one was some kind of oyster and the other one was fish, but the third one was fried tofu (I remember because it was super dry and I didn't like it, but the other two were good).

Utsunomiya: The typical food from this city are gyoza. There are a lot of restaurants in the area near Heaven's Rock, so it'll be easy to find one. There was also a mall (and even though we couldn't find the source, it smelled like there was a pastry shop) and there is also a cafeteria called Barisai Cafe where they sell pancakes, cakes, etc.

Nagoya: Eel is typical from this city, but we were a bit disgusted by the thought of it, so we ended up having lunch at a Okinawan-style meat restaurant.

Travel insurance

Even though it might seem useless, we hired a travel insurance with IATI because we had read that health service in Japan is expensive. After all, it was worth it, because my friend got sick and they wouldn't even sell paracetamol at the pharmacy without a prescription, so we had to go to the doctor just for that and we weren't charged anything, even the insurance company helped us get an appointment for that same evening. Also, the doctor who helped us spoke perfect English and she was really caring.

Internet access

Being two people, we decided to rent a pocket wifi. It is a portable router that works anywhere you go. The battery lasts around 10 hours, but it had an extra battery to recharge it, so it could last a whole day. The good thing about pocket wifi is that there is no data limit and you can connect more than one device. We rented it here. It is also possible to buy a data SIM card. You have different options and prices, depending on the period you want it for, the number of GB, etc. You can order them online, before starting your trip, or just get them already in Japan, since there are shops at the airport where they'll install it for you.

Places to visit

Since we arrived early at each city, we could seize the morning to go sightseeing. I'm writing below the names of the places we visited in case you'll be going to any of these cities and want to check this out.

Sendai: Aoba castle, Zuihoden

Utsunomiya: Oya-ji (you can take a bus directly from the train station), Utsunomiya castle

Kanazawa: Kanazawa castle, Kenroku-en, geisha district (there is also a temple district here, it's signaled)

Nagoya: Nagoya castle, Atsuta-jingu

Osaka: Osaka castle, Dotonbori, Amerikamura

Summary. Louis Bloom needed a change. Alone in a new city, he is ready to make his mark as he had in Los Angeles. Sadie Sims is alone, too. But she knows San Francisco in ways he doesn’t.

Introduction

Chapter One.

“This is great stuff, Bloom.” Robert said. “Really, great stuff.”

The segment producer, a balding man with thick frame glasses, watched the unedited rushes with wide, hungry eyes. Louis smiled, light from the screen reflecting coolly on his teeth. He had gotten lucky last night. The story, about a woman arrested for attempting to kill her husband and collect on the insurance, was straight out of a movie. Hell, he’d seen several of them. He knew it would appeal to Robert Dean in particular. It didn’t take long for Louis to find everything he needed on the man. He was divorced, lived across the bay, had to take the BART in every morning. His ex-wife had remarried very soon after their separation was finalized. It wasn’t hard to draw the proper conclusions.

“I told you, Robert,” He said, clapping the man on his shoulder. “I can deliver the best footage out there, twice as fast and at ten times the quality.”

Robert only nodded, his eyes never straying from the screen. He fished a pocket square from his jacket to wipe at his brow.

“So, are we in business?” Louis primed, tempted to lean in further.

“Yes, yes, we are.” Robert said. He faced Louis, offering his hand which Louis took in a firm handshake, something that had been apart of all his business classes. Shake hard. Keep eye contact. Never stray.

“Great,” Louis said, prying his hand lose to wipe the man’s sweat from his skin. “That’s great, Robert, just great.”

“You’ll need to see Georgia, in accounting.” Robert said, his excitement palpable. “I’ll show you the way.”

$500 was a good start. Pennies compared to what he had been making. But Robert Dean was no Nina. Negotiating with him would be an easier endeavor. A little less of a thrill perhaps, but there were others he could indulge in. Later. For now, Louis had work to do. This was perhaps the more precarious time. He had Robert Dean and the channel 4 news team in his hands, but now he would need to pocket them. They wanted him, yes. Now he had to ensure they would need him. Rely on him. Only then would he feel safe enough to call San Francisco home. Perhaps then, he could look into hiring some help. Putting down roots.

He spent the day logging his find and researching. The story played on both the morning and evening news. The footage also hitting a few local blogging sites. Although he far fewer miles to cover, it seemed that the people here were more invested in the goings on of their beloved city. Whether that was a blessing or a curse, Louis hadn’t quite decided. It wasn’t until the sun had long set that he decided to venture out again. He was still taking things slow, driving from place to place. Inspecting areas and trying to make sense of the many streets, the difficult ones, the limited ones. It was frustrating. To go from knowing the roads of Los Angeles as intimately as his knew the growing lines on his face, to feeling completely lost. As if he were a ship captain, navigating an unfamiliar sea. He wanted to bypass this part somehow. Relying on GPS was necessary at times, but he felt better knowing he didn’t need it. Until that time would come, he was at a disadvantage.

A strange clatter and whispered curse caught his attention. He looked up from his screen, blinking so that his eyes could adjust to the darkness around him. He was walking north on Polk, having had to park four blocks away from the convenience store in order to retrieve a new battery. Parking, that was one of his newer problems. Such a compact city with many, many coveted spots were in conflict with one another. He was passing by an alley, when the sound caught his attention.

The alley was deep and lightless. The amber glow from the adjacent streetlight only stretched about four feet in. He could see a door, guarded on both sides by vertical metal fencing. Above it, stretching the safe guarded height from six feet to twelve was a more climbable chain link. Which seemed to be what the slight, shadowy stranger was aiming for.

He recognized her. The waitress from Whitney’s. Amused, he stepped quietly forward, leaning his shoulder against the wall and watched. She looked different, removed now as she was from the uniform and oppressive glare of aging fluorescents. Her brassy hair was free of any ties, only just falling to meet her shoulders. It was cropped and choppy, messier now that it was when she was working. She wore slim black pants and dark brown boots that laced half way up to her knees. Instead of the larger, jean jacket she wore a dark green racer that better fit to her form. A small, sling backpack hung over her shoulder. She was petite, he guessed she stood at 5’3”. And though she was giving it a lauded effort, there was no way she would be able to reach the chain link on her own.

“Need a lift?” Louis called, after letting her go about it for a minute longer.

“Oh,” Sadie started, shoes scraping against the ground as she pivoted, her back hitting the fencing. “Shit, you scared me.”

“I’m sorry,” Louis said, pushing off from the wall. “That was not my intention.”

Sadie’s hands went to the strap that wrapped up her left shoulder, winding down across her chest and to her back. She eyed him carefully, her suspicion and unease reading clearly even in the muted light.

Louis only smiled and traipsed up the fence line, maintaining a comfortable distance between them. He shifted, splaying his weight evenly onto his feet and wound his fingers together, palms up.

“You’re serious?” Sadie asked, still wary.

Louis just shrugged. “Why not?”

Sadie bit down on her lower lip, considering her options. Louis just waited patiently. Knowing she had none. After a moment, she swallowed and stepped forward.

“Use my shoulder,” Louis directed, almost gently. “Steady, steady.”

She seemed hesitant to make any unnecessary contact. Her hand hovered an inch from his shoulder as he suggested, but she lifted her right foot up into his hands.

“In 3...2...1…,” With a grunt he hoisted her up. She managed to grip the chain link and made easy work of the remaining climb. With a grace that insinuated experience in such practices, she dropped down onto the other side, dust and debris flying into the air around her feet.

“Thanks.” She said, leaning over to knock it away.

“You live here or something?” He asked. He knew she didn’t. This wasn’t a residential area. But he was curious. To see how she would respond.

“Oh,” She said, straightening again. Waves of hair had fallen around her face, shielding one of her eyes. She looked up at him, but it was hard to see his face with the light situated behind him. She grabbed at two of the metal rungs, leaning forward and focusing her gaze on her hands.

“No...I…”

She was looking for a lie, that was easy enough to see. He wondered which one she would choose, when she surprised him by seemingly telling the truth.

“There’s this statue...in the main courtyard.” She said, “I want to get a picture of it.”

“A picture?”

“MmHmm.” She said, she pulled one hand from the fence, reaching behind her and pulling something from her bag. It was a camera. Nicer than he imagined she could afford. “But they don’t let you in at night, there’s a guard at the front.”

She rambled on. Louis lifted his hand to grip the same rung she held, but several feet higher. There was little space between them now. Only an inch or so, but she seemed emboldened by the fence. Even though he could still reach his hand through and grab her if he wanted to. If he wanted to. His shadow swelled over her, his own silhouette morphed in by the angle of the light, leaving half of her face in the dark. The shadows of the bars were present too, creeping up her face, reminiscent of a jail cell. As if she were trapped. Her right eye still caught the light, it seemed to brighten as she spoke about the shot she was aiming for.

“Do I...do know you?” She said suddenly, calling his attention back.

He locked eyes with her. She swallowed hard, but didn’t look away this time.

“You’re Sadie.” He said simply. As if he didn’t need even a second to recall it. He gestured to his waist, to the place where she normally pinned her name tag. Any alarm she felt seemed to fade away.

“That’s right,” She said, her shoulders relaxing. “You come to Whitney’s on Tuesdays - Thursdays.”

Louis’ eyes narrowed. He had only been coming to the diner for two weeks and already she had identified his schedule?

“So all this for a statue?” He said, stalling as he tried to pinpoint why her observation bothered him. “Why not come around during the day?”

“No,” Sadie said, shaking her head, her fingers winding through the strap on the camera. “It wouldn’t be the same. And I doubt they’d let me in then…”

She could feel his eyes on her, even when she looked away. His gaze felt hot, probing. She didn’t like it. His hand, still wrapped around the pole, slid downwards. Closer to hers. Whether he was aware of it or not, she wasn’t sure.

“I guess it doesn’t sound that great,” She muttered, her voice growing fainter with each word. “No matter how I try to spin it.”

Just go away. She thought, as if she could will him to do so.

“Well, good luck.” He said, brightly.

She looked up but he was already gone from sight.

“...thanks?” She said, to no one in particular.

The next night, Louis headed to the cafe. He arrived at five past 10pm. Whitney’s would be closed in an hour’s time. It was busier than usual, but it was likely normal for a Friday night. There was one booth left and Louis slid into it, preferring his own space to what was left at the counter. To his good fortune, Sadie approached his table.

“Hello,” She said. Her tone was polite, but he could sense the same wariness from the night before.

“Hello,” He said, grinning. “I’ll have a coffee and a slice of pie, whatever you have.”

“Sure,” Sadie said, tucking her pen behind her ear, not bothering to write down the simple order. “Anything else?”

It was a perfunctory question, one she was likely required to ask. But that didn’t mean Louis wasn’t going to take her up on it.

“Join me,” He said, amiably. But it wasn’t a question.”

“Um,” Sadie said, looking over her shoulder. “Okay, my break’s in ten.”

“Great” Louis said, before sticking the ear bud back into his ear and looking down to his screen.

She returned with a minute to spare. Setting his mug and plate down at the center of the table. She slid into the booth across from him, holding tightly to a mug of her own. The steam spilling from it had a distinctly floral scent.

“Thank you,” He said, drawing the plate closer to him. “Would you like some?”

Sade just shook her head. She looked down at the mug, clutching it nervously. Louis smiled, his chin dipping down low to the table to catch her eye.

“I’m not going to tell your boss what you were doing last night.” Louis said, “If that’s what you’re worried about.”

Sadie exhaled, managing a small small. “Not worried, so much as curious.”

“Curious.” Louis repeated, nodding. “Me too.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, why a person, a nice person such as yourself, would go to such lengths. All for a picture.”

“You think I’m nice?” Sadie, asked. She seemed more interested in her reflection in the mug than in his answer.

Stalling. Louis recognized. But why?

“Of course I do.” He said, softly in an attempt to placate her. “You’re all nice here. I expect that’s why you were hired.”

“Oh, well,” Sadie said, rather lamely. “I suppose...that’s nice.”

Louis waited for her to answer his question.

“It’s what I do.” She said, finally. “Or what I want to do, I guess.”

“Take pictures?” Louis asked.

“Photography, yes.” She corrected. “I’d like to do it professionally.”

“Not this job.”

“No, this just pays the bills.” She said, lifting the mug to her lips again before muttering, “Sometimes.”

“It must be hard,” Louis said, leaning in. “This is not an easy city for that type of work.”

“I guess not,” Sadie said, “But I manage fine.”

“Did you grow up here?”

“Me? No.”

Louis frowned. That was not the answer he was looking for.

“But I’ve lived here a long time now. Longer than any other place. Since...um...Six years. Maybe seven. You’re new though, aren’t you?”

The smile returned. Seven. He could work with seven. “I am. Actually, that’s why I wanted to talk to you.”

“Why?...exactly.”

“Well, I was hoping you could help me out. With my job.”

“Your job.” Sadie repeated. “What is your job?”

“News production.” Louis said. “Camera operations and footage acquirement specifically.”

“Oh?”

“But I’m unfamiliar with the city, still.” He continued. “It would be helpful to have...a guide for a night or two.”

“So...you’d pay me?” Sadie asked, her interest peaked.

“$100” Louis said, setting the bait. “It wouldn’t be a permanent situation of course. A couple nights at most. And you seem to know the ins and outs of the city…”

Sadie blushed. “A-alright,” She said, looking from side to side.

“Can I think about it?”

“Well, Sadie.” He said, “I was hoping to have someone tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow,” Sadie said, considering. “Alright. I could do tomorrow.”

“Great,” Louis said, offering his hand to her.

She looked down at it, confused at first. She lifted her hand away from the mug, gently placing it in his. He could still feel the warmth from her tea radiating on her skin.

“I’ll see you tomorrow then.”

I thought it would be a fun challenge to myself to do all the prompts for Sheith Month as pre-Kerberos fluff/humor drabbles. The original plan was to keep them all under 600 words, but I went over on about half of them lol.

Of course Keith had grown, Shiro had known that he was going to, eventually. He just hadn’t been prepared to notice so acutely. After a brief 4 week training mission in LEO, Shiro had crashed back down to earth and taken his first shaking steps back in 1G only to find the solid ground swept out from underneath of him. The surly, scrawny teen with a chip on his shoulder who would fight you for looking at him sideways had grown into almost a man right before Shiro’s eyes.

And Shiro’s eyes couldn’t tear themselves away.

Some junior officers relished their time on the night roster, scouring the halls for cadets out of bed, busting up parties, giving their friends who were still senior cadets loads of demerits just for fun. Shiro was never one of those junior officers. Sure, he’d busted Matt’s chops once or twice to get him back for a dumb prank, but generally he would look the other way and let most things slide when his turn came up on the duty roster.

Shiro was always up early, but Venus was supposed to be rising at 0413 on the nose, and it was a half hour drive followed by at least an hour’s hike to get to the best spot to see it. 0200 was a much more acceptable time to go to bed than wake up, but he quietly made his way to the senior cadets’ barracks and keyed in Keith’s door code just as his watch flipped 0210. Keith was already up, boots on and backpack shouldered, sleepy but excited smile brightening his face.

The rooftop of the junior officers’ barracks was technically off-limits, though that had never stopped Shiro from sneaking his way up to stargaze or get some fresh air. The past several months he found himself drawn to the roof more and more; just off the southwest corner the upper stage of the SLS-6 was visible far off in the distance.

It was the orbital launcher that would be taking him and his crew to the very edge of the solar system.

Matt shrugged. “I said I could cut hair, not that I was good at it. You’ve seen what I look like.” He protested. “It doesn’t even look that bad, you’re just being dramatic.”

What are you doing?” Keith asked, tilting his head to stare at him.

“Matt’s coming, he’s really mad. You have to save me.” Shiro begged quietly.

Matt knew something was off the moment he woke up. It was 8am on a Saturday and he could hear people in the living room. Shiro groaned under his breath. “Ghosts aren’t real, and we aren’t dying. We’re gonna be fine.” He assured, trying hard to keep both of them calm.

The handsome smile crumbled in his fist as he stalked down the hall.

He knew how to be confident in his abilities without being arrogant and how to use his status for minor indulgences without being accused of being a diva (by anyone but Matt, at least).

Keith was always used to being the troublemaker, the discipline case, the odd man out. That suited him just fine as well. He did his best to stay out of trouble at the Garrison for Shiro’s sake. Keeping his head down, working hard in class and blowing off steam in the sims or the gym or out in the desert was a system that had taken time to perfect but Keith figured it out with only a few missteps along the way.Yes, their roles suited both of them just fine… until the first time Keith broke one of Shiro’s records.

He’d already finished all of his homework assigned over the break, and the simulator was down “until further notice” for maintenance, so things had started to get… weird. Gathering all his pens and pencils, he placed a coffee mug on his own desk and sat down across the room at his roommate’s desk. One by one, he started tossing the pens towards the cup, adjusting his position on the chair and the angle he threw with each miss.

Matt had seen Shiro do a lot of dumb things over the years- he wasn’t as cool as he pretended to be. He’d seen Shiro get stuck in more than one t-shirt that had allegedly shrunk in the wash, accidentally put ketchup into his coffee because he was too exhausted to function and then drink it anyway, and he’d watched Shiro hit his head on the sim door more times than he could count.

All of that paled in comparison to the second-hand embarrassment he inflicted upon Matt every single time he was around Keith.

July 29 - Honesty // Lies

Lies | Canonverse | Pre-kerb | G | 400 “It’s nothing I wouldn’t do for any cadet that was struggling,” it’s not a lie the first time he says it, or if it is, it’s a lie that he believes in his soul. It might be a lie later, after a dozen trips to Iverson’s office, after countless sleepless nights in the library, after hours baking in the hot sun on the back of his bike when he knows he should be studying.

“We’re just friends,” Shiro knows it’s a lie but he says it with conviction. They never become more true, no matter how many times the words leave his lips. And they do- he says it a dozen times, maybe more. There’s nothing just about the kind of friends they are.

Shiro had suggested Cinnamon, originally, but Keith’s eyes had lit up and when he whispered the word so reverently, Shiro was powerless but to agree. They’d done their best to find Churro’s rightful owner, but it wasn’t like he’d had a collar or anything, and he was technically contraband.

Luckily Matt’s middle name might as well have been contraband, so he and Shiro were locked in a battle of mutually assured destruction should he say anything about Shiro’s illegal pet.

July 31 - Hero // Pain

“I can be your hero baby,” the earplugs weren’t working. Not that Matt would have been able to sleep with the foam stuffed halfway into his brain anyway.

“I will stand by yo-” Shiro stopped singing and tore off his headphones, staring up at Matt from his desk like a deer in headlights.

“I say this both as your friend, and as someone dangerously close to committing homicide, you have to tell him.” Matt’s stern tone left no room for discussion or argument.

July 7, 2018: A Humidity and Noraebang Cocktail

안녕하세요,

This week started off really wet with 100% rain and thunderstorm and a humidity that never went below 95%.

Sunday, July 1, 2018: I had to shower multiple times in the day because I could not even walk down Anam-dong without being drenched in both rain and sweat. Although, all my pores opened up and I had good skin for a few days.

The day was pretty slow - I met up with Anthony, Bonnie, Valentino, Sophie, Matt, Jason, Joyce, and Thai and was introduced to Bonnie's roommate Deedee and her friend who showed us that you eat raw spam in China. We ate at a barbeque place next to Chicken Bus called Seorae (서래 갈매기).

Later that night, Valentino, Matt and I met up at Valentino's room to watch Train to Busan (Busanhaeng/부산행) on Netflix; but since we're in South Korea, it did not give us the option of English subtitles so we watched Taegukgi: Brotherhood of War (Taegukgi Hwinallimyeo/태극기 휘날리며) on YouTube instead.

Monday, July 2, 2018: It was a regular night that started with Minki-hyung (민기형) taking me, Matt, Florence, Wendelyn, Sophie, Thai, and Joyce to have chicken galbi in a place called Chuncheon Dakgalbi (춘천닭갈비) where the owner called me "greedy" for setting up two side dishes (banchan/반찬) for each table and claimed that it was too excessive and we wouldn't be able to finish it. Culture shock, I guess? Since, Korean barbeque places in Los Angeles give us a set of banchan (반찬) per person, rather than per table, most of the time. Hyunjic-oppa (현진오빠) joined us towards the end of our dinner.

We went to a karaoke (noraebang/노래방) place nearby ending our night at one in the morning. There were nine of us for a total of ₩14,000, so we decided to have two people not pay and have the other seven of us pitch in ₩2,000 each. Hyunjic-oppa (현직오빠) had a bright idea and asked the worker at the noraebang (노래방) to draw two of our school IDs from a hat to decide. Minki-hyung (민기형) and I did not end up paying for noraebang (노래방) that night.

Tuesday, July 3, 2018: The sun started shining and puffy white clouds filled the sky. Everybody decided to go outside to enjoy Seoul without the rain for the first time. I walked the entire Anam-dong with no idea where to go or what to do just because I only wanted to be outside. The humidity was still unbearable though. It stayed within 90% throughout the day, so I gave in to the Asian mini fan culture and bought myself one from the nearby Daiso store.

Walking back from Daiso, I saw a really attractive worker in Baskin Robbins, so I bought a Puss in Boots milkshake and stayed in to study for my Korean class enjoying my view.

I was getting over budget very fast so I did nothing special that night besides another soju night with Valentino, Matt, and Cara in a place called 88. Valentino finally got around and visited Myeongdong to buy his sim card and his Korean starter pack that included a black face mask, a hat with the South Korean flag (Taegukgi/태국기), and a white pair of Adidas shoes.

Wednesday, July 4, 2018: My actual ISC buddy never had the time to meet with us until this week, so he scheduled a lunch with each of us individually to get to know each other. His name is Hyungki-hyung (형기형) and it was his first time being a buddy for the summer program. He had a part-time job for the summer, so it was difficult for him to find the time to meet with us as a group. He asked me what I have not tried in Seoul yet and suggested bossam (보쌈), spiced belly pork in a restaurant that specializes in it called Ssago (싸고). I enjoyed it so much I later dragged Matt and Valentino to the same location later in the week.

After my lunch with my actual buddy, I decided to skip my only summer class to tour around Seoul and visited SMTown Museum in COEX mall with Sophie. Luckily, my Korean professor did not give out any paperwork or homework that day so I didn't miss much. Sophie and I walked around COEX mall before going into SMTown Museum and just missed the 3 PM EXO show in the theater. The next show was going to be at 7:30 PM with SHINee, and I was not willing to wait four hours and pay an extra ₩10,000 to watch a live concert.

The SMTown Museum ticket was only ₩18,000 and it had areas for each SM artists. At the main lounge were bookshelves of all the albums and an entire timeline for each SM group, such as EXO, Super Junior, TVXQ!, NCT, SHINee, Red Velvet, Girls' Generation, and f(x). Then they have an entire section dedicated to each SM group which includes the outfits they wore in their music videos and concerts.

We returned back to Anam later in the afternoon and met up with our friend group to spend the night together again. Florence showed me a machine in Daiso that dispensed customized stickers with your name on it. So, I got one with my name (크리스) and Korea University (고여대학교) in Korean. I also introduced Florence and Valentino to my favorite restaurant in Anam-dong that specializes in chicken steaks (Dakgup Neunshin/닭굽는신), which is near the KU entrance by Anam Station (안암역) on the second floor of Namu Playstation Console Game Room. If you ever get to visit Anam-dong, make sure to visit this place. It's a regular and casual hangout for the KU students, if you want to be surrounded by local Koreans and not by foreigners and tourists.

In South Korea, you decide if the restaurant is good or not by their kimchi - so my kimchi tasting skills have been really improving.

The kimchi at the chicken steak restaurant was still my favorite one though. I ate at that place the second day I arrived in Seoul after orienting myself to the campus with Tommy, and met two girls from Venezuela and Romania who have studied in Korea University for four years, and told me the fun fact about kimchi being the deciding factor on how good the restaurants are. They both agreed that the kimchi at my favorite chicken steak restaurant was one of the better ones.

Since it was Fourth of July, the Americans in our group (Valentino, and Matt, and me) dragged the group to a coin noraebang (코인노래방) to sing American songs, especially "Party in the USA". It was ₩500 for two songs, so we did not pay by hour and worry about wasting time finding songs. We stayed in the coin noraebang (코인노래방) for five hours and only spent close to ₩9,000 the entire night.

We tried looking for fireworks or sparklers to light up by our dorm or even the Han River, but to no avail. Our friends back in America were posting fireworks snaps and celebrating Fourth of July with American and Mexican foods, and it made me feel a little homesick; I still did not want to go home though.

We ended the night at McDonald's, since what was more American than McDonald's anyway?

Thursday, July 5, 2018: Another regular day. My Korean professor still taught the class in full Korean, cafeteria food was still filling, and my wallet was still trying to take a break from all the spending.

After class, I went to the CU convenience store next to Frontier House to grab a quick snack and bumped into Simi! We haven't seen each other since orientation day, so it took us a while to catch up with each other. I invited her to the Seoul Summer School Festival in a club in Itaewon called B-One Lounge Club Friday night, which was a huge club party for all the international students from the big universities in Seoul - Yonsei, Hanyang, Ewha, Seoul National, Korea, Hankuk, Sungkyunkwan, Hogang, Chung-Ang, Ajou, and many more.

After the conversation, I met for dinner with Davy, Sophie, Thai, Matt, and Joyce for some budae-jjigae (부대찌개), which is a sausage stew with gochujang (고추장), red chili paste in a place called Biya, which was basically next to the Frontier House stairs. Thai and Sophie could not stand eating spicy food, so they both settled in for the unlimited tater tot side dish. Thai also drowned the jjigae (찌개) with water and ramen to hide the spicy taste. Thai and Davy were disappointed since they asked Minki-hyung (민기형) for a hotpot location, and Minki-hyung (민기형) suggested to eat at Biya (비야). I guess he had a different idea of what hotpot is because jjigae (찌개) did not end up satisfying Thai and Davy's hotpot cravings.

After the dinner, we went around Anam-dong and settled in a restaurant, which specializes in seafood, called Shingshing Oring Eobada (싱싱 오링어바다), just under O-Bar Whiskey and Beer, to drink some apple-flavored sojus since the previous bars we checked out did not offer it (apple-flavored soju is our favorite drink).

Matt bought a 1.5L Milkis bottle from a nearby GS25 store and brought it in the the restaurant to mix with the apple-flavored sojus, since he wanted us to taste this easy-to-make cocktail.

Matt ordered shrimp tempura in horrifyingly-embarrassing Korean that our cute Korean waiter was laughing the entire time Matt was talking. It's funnier since Matt is Korean but does not speak a word of the language, so everybody he interacts with here in Seoul expects him to be fluent with the language. They start laughing or let out a sigh of disappointment whenever he says a Korean word in a heavy American accent. He had an experience with an Uzbek worker in a 7/11 store nearby where he asked for a cigarette in terrible Korean and the Uzbek worker laughed at him and spoke to him in fluent English to stop Matt from further embarrassing himself.

After mixing our first round of apple-flavored soju and Milkis, the cute waiter came over with his translator app and told Matt to not bring in outside drinks to the restaurant "from now on" so he mixed the Milkis with our sojus under the table throughout the rest of the night.

We went to the same coin noraebang (코인노래방) right after.

Friday, June 6, 2018: I was running on a few hours of sleep since we got home very late from the noraebang (노래방) and I had to wake up at 7:30 AM for the K-Pop flash mob hosted by the school. After getting home, Sophie asked me to help a drunk student she ran into back to his room in Frontier House since only guys can enter the building. The guy was very stubborn and I was very exhausted and needed to rest. I dropped him off after a good hour of him drunkenly eating his ramen and told his roommate, who was surprisingly still awake at that time, to knock on my room if he needed any help.

We learned the choreography to Red Velvet's "Red Flavor" in the Tiger Dome (Hwajung Cheyukgwan/화정체육관) from 9:30 to noon to perform the flashmob three times on camera at the main plaza in Korea University. The school gave away BT21 goods, signed CDs from Blackpink, SHINee, BTOB, and ONF, and four tickets to see KBS “Music Bank” live that afternoon to those who participated in the flash mob.

After the flash mob, I napped until it was time for us to go to Seoul Summer School Festival. I met with Matt and Valentino for a quick dinner at the bossam (보쌈) place I had lunch in with Hyungki-hyung (형기형) earlier in the week.

Valentino had both his phone and wallet stolen from the night before when he went out with his fraternity friends in Made bar in Itaewon. He fell asleep and woke up early in the morning with only his phone case left. So, both Matt and I have been helping him out paying for things and offering our phones so he kept up with our group Kakao Talk conversations, etc.

We met with Minki-hyung (민기형), Thai, and Sophie at Anam Station (안암역) after the dinner and headed to Itaewon just in time for the event to start at 11 PM. Bonnie, Joyce, Florence, Wendelyn, Lina, Simi and her roommate Edan, Salli, and Carolina were going to catch up with us later in the night. Hyunjic-oppa (현직오빠) and Hyungki-hyung (형기형) couldn't join us because they needed to study and do homework.

Valentino was initially denied entrance to the club because he was wearing his Adidas jogging pants, so he had to take the subway back with Sophie to change to a more acceptable pants. We left the club to drink some soju by the GS25 store next to the bar and met up with Bonnie, Wendelyn, Florence, and Joyce who were in line. Just behind them were Lina, Bruno, and Davonte, who I was meeting for the first time.

Lina actually messaged the group chat saying she wanted to get to know and hang out with us more, so that was why I was familiar with her - although, we didn’t see each other for the rest of the night after that. Not long after that at midnight, Simi and Edan came, while Salli and Carolina arrived around 2 AM.

Every time I went outside, I always took the chance to get some chicken skewer (dakkochi/닭꼬치) from the ahjumma just next to the entrance of the club - so much that she knew which sauce I wanted spread on my skewer. Hint: it’s teriyaki sauce.

I introduced the non-Americans to the cocktail called Adios Motherfucker (AMF), which is known in the US to black people out. Minki-hyung (민기형) finished the drink in one sip and Florence had to take him home at midnight - an hour after entering the club.

We left B-One a little past 5:30 AM in broad daylight. We had more skewered teriyaki chicken outside the club and headed back to our dorms.

It's currently 6:32 PM and I woke up just four hours ago, basically sleeping through breakfast and lunch; so I'm writing this blog waiting for the cafeteria to open for my first meal of the day at 7:30 PM. Luckily, I did not wake up with a headache, although my legs and feet are currently sore from seven hours of standing up and dancing.

Recently, I've been wanting to take a break from Korean foods, especially chicken and every form of soup. Every single restaurant around here serve mainly those two and I just wanted to eat something different - perhaps Japanese or Mexican food? I aimlessly walked around Anam-dong to look for a non-Korean restaurant to eat at and came across a tonkatsu place where they served a Japanese-Hawaiian fusion plate in Eunhwasu Sikdang (은화수 식당). After the filling meal, I bought a pack of banana milk and sweet bread from a convenience store and sat down to eat at the Central Plaza overlooking the Main Hall of Korea University that was beautifully lit up at night.

Michael (Inseok/인석) messaged me to meet Valentino at the Frontier House stairs since Valentino lost his phone and had no way to contact any of us since Kakao Talk wanted verification from his phone number attached to his account. Jordan and Matt joined us a while after and had banana milk and bread together.

It is Nay's birthday and they're all planning on going out to a bar in Hongdae tonight. Jordan was headed to Itaewon in a bit to visit some gay clubs also.

I think I might sit these down to take some time to recuperate. The night life here in Seoul doesn't stop, apparently. Until then!

Update: I just met up with Thai, Davy, Hyunjic-oppa (현직오빠), Hyungki-hyung (형기형), Wendelyn, Matt, Valentino, and Florence for chicken and soju in Chicken Bus (치킨버스) and to watch the World Cup match between Sweden and England. I left earlier in the night to sleep, while Thai, Davy, Hyunjic-oppa (현직오빠), and Hyungki-hyung (형기형) stayed in the place to finish the game. Wendelyn, Matt, Valentino, and Florence headed to Hongdae for to continue drinking for Nay's birthday.

**March Habitversary post for AnneDot** I almost never post in the tavern, but I'm happy to do so today. I am AnneDot, the cell phone account for Habitican AnneLine. She'll post for herself! She better get it done before midnight!!! This was quite the year for all of us, and even one to be celebrated, despite the obvious dark music playing somewhere in the background. Starting last March, I've been almost exclusively at home, and Habitica helped me to make very good choices that helped me to do well and help others to do well during this year. **I am focusing in this post on what I did as AnneDot the cell phone user!!!** I'm excited to say that I've become much more than just a source of extra 💎 for AnneLine to use in challenges this year! During this year... - my Spanish has improved a LOT because I downloaded Wlingua and studied spanish every day. - My spiritual and emotional life improved by developing a way to use using apps well but not too much. - I'm exercising everyday (walking nearly 50 miles a month...) and have listened to 20+ books on tape... two of which were over 500 pages long! - I'm getting 7.5 hours of sleep almost every day y using the Sleepsy app! And - I did a very scary thing and learned how to put in a bigger Sim card in my phone!!! I needed one!!! Habitica and my friends in the Short Term Goal Accountability *(STAG)* and the Knights of the Prayerful Rose *(Knights)* guild* have been faithful and loving companions, and little AnneDot would not have done as well without the support of them and the wonderful resource of Habitica and its faithful mods and trouble shooters. You KNEW I let you go first, because it is your bedtime!!! *(We're the same Habitican, one on cell, other on computer).* This was quite the year for all of us, and I agree with AnneDot, it IS one to be celebrated, despite how hard it has been sometimes. Starting last March, I've been almost exclusively at home, and Habitica helped me to make very good choices that helped me to do well and help others to do well during this year. I am focusing in this post on what I did as AnneLine the Computer Account, NOT the bratty cell phone user!!! During this year... I've made my bed almost every day, and fed the :dolphin: aka done my dishes abut 25 or more days each month. Both of these re HUGE celebrations, as I hadn't done them regularly in about 50+ years. *(Yes, Habiticans come in all ages and flavors!!!) *I've learned to use a zoom account this year, and I have hosted so many zoom meetings, parties, training classes, church services.... I have literally lost count. I HATED the thought of using zoom, and now I am grateful for it. During the summer I started a garden, and learned the benefits of putting down cardboard under mulch on paths and under soil in the rest of the garden. Wow. Weeds are under control!!! Garden isn't ready for display, but getting better all the time. And that is a good metaphor for my life, too! *I survived the day the skies turned red in California last October; now THAT was a thing to remember from this year! *I've helped a lot of people during the year, inside and outside of Habitica, and allowed them to help me. Both are equally important... maybe the second one more. I've become more gentle yet honest with people, and them do the same with me... My 'scary thing' was getting myself signed onto Social Security and changing into Medicare during the height of pandemic. I don't think it would have been fun at any time, but it was nuts doing it this year. I found a new doctor, and developed a lot of good habits of self-care, mostly with the help of my alter-ego AnneDot. She is the 4 or 5 year old part me, she tries hard but sometimes gets frustrated and grumpy, and the Big AnneLine part of me has learned to respect her and listen to her more. She's helped me learn to see things as a child sees them, through eyes of wonder. And to know when I'm sleepy, hungry or bored, and to ask for help. She's a wonderful kid, and I cherish her. Habitica and my friends in the Short Term Goal Accountability (STAG) and the Knights of the Prayerful Rose (Knights) guild* have been faithful and loving companions (and respectful even when I'm REALLY BAD about closing challenges and awarding :gem:, and I would not have done as well without the support of them and the wonderful resource of Habitica and its faithful mods and trouble shooters. Resorts & Hotels Mod

Created for: The Sims 4 by kawaiistacie

This mod adds resorts to your game. You can visit resorts or you can own them! This mod can also be used as an hotel system. Please make sure that you read this full post word from word before you put this mod into your game.

(Lot trait) Important: I have only tested this mod on the "generic" "residential" “ancient ruins” and "island buff" lot types and the "generic" didn't work for me but the others did perfectly. I'm sure every venue works except generic!

Requirements: I tried to make this mod as base game compatible as possible! However some interactions towards staff members may require other packs (vintage glamour) which should still be fine since what makes it work you only need base game.

Resort Lot Requirements: - Bedroom (Double & Single beds) - Kitchen (Stove, fridge, counter) - Multiple front Desk (Desk, chair, Computer) - Bathroom (Toliet, shower/tub, sink) - Fun activities (Pool, TV, etc...)

Resort Visitors

This part of the mod works by using a lot trait. Please avoid using the generic lot type for the lot trait because it did not work for me. How to setup?

Build or place the lot!

Put the "hotel/resorts" lot trait on the lot.

Visit the lot!

Arriving When you first arrive it can take up to 2-3 hours for the resort to open so do not leave the lot! This is because lot traits can take a while to activate. If you want you can arrive at night time and sleep those hours away or come super early like 4-5am. You will know for sure when the resort is "open" because you will be charged! Once you are charged the staff and people will slowly start to come. People will come all throughout the day and some people will leave! Does visiting cost? You will be charged $100 to enter the lot which covers everything the resort offers including food! After that each day that you are still there you will be charged $50 at 11:00am so if you don't want to stay again then leave before 11:00am. Visitor benefits! As a visitor you will be able to request birthday cakes, wedding cakes, or just regular food! You can also stand up for yourself if the staff isn't doing what they're supposed to do! You will have sims cleaning up after you 24/7 and feeding you! You will be able to meet new sims or even run into a few friends that you already know!

Resort Owners

How to become one?

If you have used my DJ headliner mod then you will catch on to how this works! You will have to start the "become resort owner" event by using your phone. You will only have to start this event ONE time if you get gold. When the event starts you will have to take care of the resort by yourself. Don't worry though because you won't have a lot of people to take care of! You will have to cook, clean, entertain and interact with the guests!

How to setup?

When you become one

You will be able to open your resort by going to the lot that your resort is on and clicking on your sim to open it which can be done at any time and you will finally have your own staff!

MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON YOUR RESORT LOT BEFORE YOU PRESS OPEN! DO NOT PUT THE RESORT/HOTEL LOT TRAIT ON YOUR RESORT LOT.

When you open the resort you will be charged $500-$1000 to cover the staff and what it takes to run the place! You will make money based on your "resort" skill and on how well you ran the place!The event lasts 24 hours but you can close anytime that you want!

How to quit / Sell your resort?

Owner benefits

Not only will you get paid thousands as your skill grows but you can command your staff members to do certain tasks. You can even give them bonuses!

The higher your resort skill the more people you can bring into your resort!

You get a new social interaction that allows you to brag about your resort! Which is perfect for materialistic sims.

My recommendations:

Your Resort lot

More single beds than double!

Separate showers from toilets or make public bathrooms.

Add a lot of things to do!

Multiple receptionist desks.

Use the island buffs lot type or ancient ruins it runs smoothly!

Don't but the resort on a generic lot it doesn't work.

Don't put the lot trait on your home...if you like peace!

Just Visiting

Come early 3-5am or late 7-8pm!

Make clubs if you want to make classes, more workers, drama, etc...

DO NOT PUT THE LOT TRAIT ON THE LOT THAT YOU WILL BE OWNING
