A Night Out

Ship: Sabo x Reader (Race neutral, she/her pronouns) Genre: angst and fluff, Modern!AU (can be interpreted as freshly out of college) Warnings: alcohol use Word Count: 2k Other: mention of a semi-recent breakup A/N: Sooo, I wrote this many eons ago, back when my current partner and I had just met and I was scared that he would just be a rebound (spoiler, he wasn't). It was originally supposed to be longer, but I reworked it into this final form. Because of this, it is very self indulgent and I leaned into many things I crave and love. But despite that, I think other ppl could enjoy this piece ^^ Enjoy <3

You couldn’t tell how long you had been sitting at the bar but it sure was a while. You had downed drink after drink, slowly, all while snacking on various packs of chips you had ordered throughout the evening. The alcohol was barely affecting you. The heat in your cheeks could also be explained by the temperature in the cafe after all.

Unlike what your friend was thinking, you were actually enjoying yourself though. Yes, you were alone except for when they joined you, and yes, you had barely danced throughout the evening, but you didn’t need anything more. Sipping on cocktails while pertaining to your favourite activity -people watching- was all you felt like doing and you enjoyed it greatly.

The reason you were there in the first place however was because, according to your friend, you needed to change your mind. And you agreed to that. You hadn’t omitted any objection when they had suggested going to one of your favourite local pubs, famous for its large choice of beers, great taste in music and dance evenings.

The music in the cafe was so loud it felt like your own heartbeat. Communication was unintelligible unless shouted. The small dance floor was packed to the brim. The ground was lightly sticky in some areas. Meanwhile, the bar stools were mostly empty, groups of friends preferring the few tables or couches of the small establishment. A yellow glow filled the entire place from construction site spots hanging close to the ceiling.

The bar was famous for its cheap, broke student atmosphere, but that participated to its charm. And despite its looks and feels, it was probably the best pub in town.

A smile grazed your features as memories related to this place flooded your mind. The time you danced with both friends and perfect strangers on the bar. All the times you and a friend had to keep each other from falling as you walked back home. The couple evenings where you had worked there to save some money. Luckily, there was at least one person you had not linked to this place. Looking back, it was a good decision to never have invited your ex to spend evenings with your friends in this pub. Other way, you’d probably see their face everywhere now. But thank God, that was not the case and you could still get drunk in this bar without risking a panic attack at the idea that your ex might walk in at any moment.

Thus, you were enjoying a good evening, sipping on cocktails, people watching and forgetting about your sorrow. Your position was perfect, allowing you to look both at the dance floor and the entrance. Whoever walked in always wore the same expression; one that read as “home” and “friends.”

The spot you were sitting at proved to be handy when familiar blonde locks stumbled into the pub. A smile immediately stretched out your lips. A long time friend of yours had just passed the door and his name was Sabo.

Sabo had always been somewhat of a best friend for you, except you had never called him that, unsure of whether or not he saw you like that too. You had known each other for a very long time, probably half of your life at this point. Throughout the years, you had grown closer or further apart. You sometimes texted whole days without stopping and other time you’d only have one conversation over the span of three months. But it had all happened so naturally that you never took it badly. You knew you both had lives and made time for each other when necessary and when possible.

Behind Sabo, you spotted two other people, who you had known for just as long as the blond: Ace and Koala. Despite getting along really well with both of them, you weren’t sure if you could call them friends. They were more acquaintances. But, no hard feelings. You just had the habit of hanging out with different people which didn’t mean you couldn’t enjoy an evening together.

Quickly enough, Koala spotted you and waved in your direction, catching Sabo’s attention in the process. The man turned towards you and beamed. After exchanging a few words with his friends, the blond walked over to you while the two other went couch hunting.

“Long time no see, Y/N!” he greeted with a smile.

Offering one back, you confirmed his statement.

“How have you been?” Sabo asked, sitting down on the stool next to yours.

“Been getting over my ex,” you answered with chuckle.

A grimace crossed the man’s features.

“Sorry to hear that,” he declared honestly.

“What about you?” you questioned as to not break the mood.

Sabo immediately beamed again.

“Got a job! I’m here to celebrate with Ace and Koala!”

Your mouth fell open before you congratulated him.

After thanking you, Sabo looked around and wondered: “Are you alone?”

Shaking your head, you explained that your friend was here too but that they were busy dancing.

“Do you wanna join us in that case? We’re not going to dance right away.”

After a second, you gladly accepted and offered: “I’m paying the first round of drinks.”

Sabo let out a laugh.

“No one is gonna complain about that, trust me!”

He then called out to his friends who had found a free couch in the mean time, asking them what they would like to drink. He clearly stated you were paying the first tour which owed you some cheers. A stranger asked if you would pay for them too in an attempt to be funny but Sabo and Ace both quickly jumped to tell them no, making you laugh. After ordering all four drinks, you joined Sabo’s friends with him and plopped down in the couch between him and Ace.

“You already made my night, Y/N,” joked the brunet.

“Why? Because I paid you a drink?” you asked, incredulous.

“Of course!” Ace replied, “You underestimate what this represents!”

You couldn’t help but let out a breathy laugh at his antics.

“Hey, not to steal Y/N’s spotlight, but we’re here to celebrate me getting a job!” reminded Sabo.

“Well you are stealing her spotlight!” declared Koala in mock anger.

Huffing, the blond turned towards you, presenting you his drink.

“Y/N, may I please borrow your spotlight?”

Letting out a laugh, you held your chin between your thumb and index finger, pretending to be in deep thoughts.

It is only after Sabo let out a cute “Please?” that you agreed to his request.

The four of you clinked your glasses to him getting a job, strangers joining your cheers.

After a few minutes your friend walked up to you. Ace and Koala quickly moved to the side just enough to let them sit between you and the brunet.

“I thought you had left for a second,” they admitted. Lowering their voice and pulling you closer they continued: “Do you mind if I go? I’ve been dancing with this redhead for like two hours so we’re gonna go to my place soon I think.”

Letting out a giggle you explained: “Just go, I’m a grown up. I can go home by myself you know?”

A grimace crossed your friend’s features and they shook their head. “You shouldn’t go alone, it can be dangerous.”

“Says the one who’s gonna take a stranger back home,” you deadpanned.

Rolling their eyes, your friend dismissed what you had just said and instead called Sabo’s name. “Can I trust you to look after my dearest Y/N and walk her home?”

Offering a lopsided grin, the blond gave your friend his word. That was enough to reassure them since they wished you goodnight and left right after, probably not hearing you over the music when you shouted out at them: “Text me to tell me you’re safe!”

A chuckle traveled to your ears. You turned towards Sabo again.

“They really care about you, don’t they?”

You almost rolled your eyes at your friend’s antics but still nodded.

“I’ll drink to that! To looking after your loved ones,” declared Sabo as you clinked your drinks, sharing a knowing glance.

An hour or two passed where you downed drinks faster than during the first half of the evening. You could safely say you hadn’t laughed so much in a really long time... and it felt great. Your smile never left your features and the same could be said about Ace, Koala and Sabo.

It felt like it was just yesterday since you last talked with him whilst it had been so much longer. You loved how seemingly perfect everything felt when you were with him. It was always just right.

As an old 1960s song started playing, the blond grinned at you.

“Let’s go dance!” he declared excitedly.

You opened your eyes wide.

“You sure that’s a good idea?” you asked.

Chuckling, Sabo said with confidence: “Absolutely.”

Without waiting your answer, he stood up and extended his hand towards you.

Letting out a breathy laugh, you took his hand and followed him on the dance floor.

You instinctively wrapped your arms around his neck while Sabo placed his hands on your hips. His hair was brushing against your fingers and you had to resist the urge to mess it up.

Now that you were pretty much alone, lost in a small crowd of strangers and regulars, you had nowhere to run or to distract yourself with. It was only you and a dashing blond man.

As you started swaying from side to side, you noticed Sabo was thinking. You could almost see the cog wheels behind his eyes.

You then noticed him biting his lower lip. He was hesitating.

“What is it?” you asked.

“You’re gorgeous, Y/N,” declared Sabo.

Letting out a breathy laugh, you looked elsewhere. You could feel the heat creeping up your cheeks at his compliment. Though it could also be the alcohol or the packed pub... right?

“It’s true!” insisted the blond, making you turn towards him again. “You��ve been beautiful ever since we met!”

Feeling bold, you responded: “So are you!” Sabo offered you a lopsided grin as you continued: “I thought you were drop dead gorgeous when I first saw you!”

You both chuckled. Even in your inebriated state, you noticed Sabo’s tender gaze on you.

As the song ended, he suggested to go get some fresh air, to which you agreed.

Once outside, the cold air of the night hit you both like a train. In a reflex, you wrapped your arms around yourself. But that was without counting on Sabo, who gladly held you close to him.

Yellow lights were reflecting in the water puddles on the road. Everything was quiet, only the faint sounds from inside the pub breaking the silence. You sighed of contempt between Sabo’s arms.

“If I may ask,” whispered the blond in an attempt to not break the mood, “how long has it been since you broke up?”

You sighed again before answering.

Feeling Sabo nodding, you closed your eyes. A tender peck was placed on the top of your head, making you smile.

“How are you doing?” he asked gently, lips still brushing against your scalp.

“Better. It felt like hell at first, but now I go out with friends and I laugh and I have fun,” you explained. “It’s nice to take better care of myself again.”

You felt Sabo smile against your hair before leaving another peck.

“I’m glad to hear that.”

A quiet moment passed without either of you saying anything else.

"You know... I don't feel like it's right for me to flirt with you right now," he suddenly declared.

"What do you mean?" you breathed out jokingly.

"I mean that you're drunk... and I'm drunk... and I don't want to be a rebound for you, although if I had to be a rebound for anyone, I would absolutely pick you," Sabo paused to think. "So I will wait a bit longer to flirt with you... even if I desperately want to do it right now."

"You already are," you pointed out, still smiling.

"What can I say? I can't help myself."

Pulling away slightly, you playfully asked: "When are you free?"

"Whenever you are, my darling."

1! ♡ Damn... I’m really not that interesting I gotta think. I think I lived in a haunted house back in Jersey. See, NJ is a crazy haunted state as a whole because of the history behind it, there’s a lot of spooky, fun places to explore like Gravity Hill where it’s said that ghost kids push your car up the hill if you put it in neutral, it works because my step sis did it with her friend. I digress. My aunt came to visit once and never came back because there was something she’d sense there and like... HWEOH I’D HEAR FOOTSTEPS IF I WERE DOWNSTAIRS ALONE AND ALSO, there was just this cold, tense atmosphere there. My ipod speaker would randomly turn on and it didn’t stop until I moved out of the house, I once saw an old man in a suit when I woke up at three in the morning, which happened all the freaking time, I’d wake up with scracth marks and bruises... and yeah. That’s a thing. Does not help that the place we lived at used to be a crematorium, that’s the legend at least.

2! ♡ I am 100% a morning person I always wake up at eight o clock seven being the earliest for me. If I sleep in I tend to get nightmares and junk so HJDSKJBAJDB and like, it’s impossible for me to sleep in once I’m up bc I’m the type that takes forever to sleep which is why I am a nightowl. Yes, I am both we Exist and it’s hell.

3! ♡ Hrm, I think the reason why Drama doesn’t faze me too much half the time is because my family is full of crazy drama. Let me break it down for you. So in Dominican Republic we are believe in the supernatural and the like, my aunt is able to tell the future if you drink a cup of tea she makes, one sip though and she reads the liquids as well. SO, a few years back, my uncle has been having bad luck. Turns out, he’s been cursed by a witch and at first, he thought it was his mother. It wasn’t until this year he found out it was his wife that did it. SO LIKE, THAT’S WHAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH OFFLINE AMONG OTHER CRAZY THINGS. Whether you believe in this or not, is up to you. Okay I tried to pick just some questions but they are all so good so like,, can you answer all of them?? (Unless you don't want to answer some jsjdksldk)

(I’m not gonna answer ones I don’t have an answer to if that’s okay dndjdjjd)1. If you got the chance to hang out with any famous person for a day, who would it be?Tbh? Probably Sean McCloughin (or jacksepticeye for anyone that doesn’t know also I hope I spelled his last name right hhhh) because he just seems so,,,down to earth??? Like I’m not saying other ppl I’m a fan of are egotistical or anything it’s just that?? There are outdated terms to describe him at times though, the book was written in the 1970s so there’s another warning.)29. Ever go through an “embarrassing” fandom phase? ugh, i'm on my phone and can't comment on the post. what about jkr writing about draco on pottermore? i stopped digging into the site when it became more buzzfeed-like.

lol it’s probably for the best like i tend to ignore Pottermore too because it just…some of it is great, but some of it is just rlly annoying.

Like JKR just has this very obvious hate of Draco and the fact that ppl like him/sympathize with him. Like some of what she says is right. Like he was horrible and of course there were ppl who liked him for the wrong reasons…

but she basically comes across as being determined to undermine every possible fan who might consider that he’s capable of being more than what his father was.

She goes over his history briefly and does all she can to basically paint him as the most awful, irredeemable person, despite writing him sympathetically in HBP/DH. For instance:

“It was, therefore, in the knowledge that he was doing nothing of which his father would disapprove, and in the hope that he might be able to relay some interesting news home, that Draco Malfoy offered Harry Potter his hand when he realised who he was on the Hogwarts Express. Harry’s refusal of Draco’s friendly overtures, and the fact that he had already formed allegiance to Ron Weasley, whose family is anathema to the Malfoys, turns Malfoy against him at once. Draco realised, correctly, that the wild hopes of the ex-Death Eaters – that Harry Potter was another, and better, Voldemort – are completely unfounded, and their mutual enmity is assured from that point.”

So, we’re supposed to believe that a child has laid out this careful plan to befriend Harry Potter–famous Harry Potter–because he might become the next Dark Lord. Now, I don’t doubt that Draco has his own ideas about this situation, hoping to befriend a famous wizard would be sooooo cool. and Harry’s probably got such strong magic and cool stories and all of these things. like eleven year old Draco Malfoy may have been a brat and a bully and awful, but he was still a fucking child who always probably wanted to be the famous Harry Potter’s friend just like every kid growing up in the Wizarding world probably did.

She goes on about him envying Harry, being excited by Voldemort’s return–because he has literally no concept of what the reality of the situation is, but i digress–and then we get this:

“Although Draco had still not rid himself of the hope of returning the family to their former high position, his inconveniently awakened conscience led him to try - half-heartedly, perhaps, but arguably as best he could in the circumstances - to save Harry from Voldemort when the former was captured and dragged to Malfoy Manor.”

He has a conscience and we are given clear indications of this. This was intentional. He absolutely was trying to save Harry in his own roundabout way. But for some reason, he still feels like he’s got the chance to bring his family back to their former position and for someone who is incredibly intelligent it seems so… wrong? Like he’s just stagnant. He’s experiencing something so horribly traumatic, but his priority is still to bring his family back to their former state. Even if we could say that’s a reasonable thing for Draco to want, which it is, though I feel she’s just being heavy-handed with it, I think it’s ridiculous to suggest he wants anything to do with Voldemort at this point or this view of the world that Voldemort and his father have instilled in him.

Then:

I’ve always had a complicated relationship with the scene in the Room of Hidden Things when the trio are looking for what they think is the final Horcrux and are faced against Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle. I think Malfoy has that desire to of self-preservation, but again this feels very contrary to what he’s been going through for the last two years. I believe that yes he could absolutely convince himself that all he has to do is bring Harry to Voldemort, but I feel like there’s this unwillingness to let him grow as a character, like he has to be completely irredeemable or else.

The idea that it would be moot if he was actually capable of handing Harry over is just ridiculous. It’s not a moot point. It’s crucial. It’s so important to who he is and what he values and how he’s changed. He wasn’t capable of killing Dumbledore, an old man who he had very little interaction with. So yes, it’s important for us to see that he’d be incapable of handing over someone he has serious history with. How would he feel about any of this??? It’s important dammit, not moot.

She gave us a cruel, privileged, prejudiced child who grew up to be much more complicated, but she continues to trap him and refuses to accept that maybe fans see more in him because she made him more.

Authors, for all that they are great and skilled and the ruler of their world, need to listen to fans more often because their fans are also creative and spend so much time imagining the possibilities that the authors themselves are honestly too often incapable of seeing for themselves because of how close they are to the work. She has these feelings, these strong feelings, and I don’t doubt that some part of her really hates the popularity of HarryxDraco for instance because there is no way she could not know about it. But I think she is wrong and i think the way she talks about him is soooo frustrating.

Draco is not perfect. His actions as a child were sooooo cruel. And fans do forget this. smh i had someone comment on the fic i just wrote acting like Draco had been wronged more so than he’d wronged the trio, and it was wild to read this person’s comments.

But Draco is not his father. He is capable of being more. Fans see that. She doesn’t.

So I called the owner of the broker company who told me that he would gladly backdate the policy upon the notion that AIG would accept it and they said that they would. Jackie’s Back

That is a great way to start this blog post, coming off The Breakfast Club interview with the Legendary Jenifer Lewis. I LOVEE her! I’ve watched that 1:03:11 long interview no less than 7 times since it aired a few days ago online. I’ve seen almost everything Jenifer has played in expect the movie Jackie’s Back. So I found it on youtube and watched it for free. The movie is basically about a has-been singer who never was and she’s trying to make one last comeback. I feel that premise fits my life perfectly right now. It’s about midnight right now and I needed a few hours to calm myself down before I even wanted to start this post. I’m typing this in the legendary notes app on my phone. The plan is to copy and paste to my tumblr blog. I will see if I want to do that, but as for now me typing this is just being used as an additional outlet besides me talking to one of my instructors Kevin and my mentor Miguel. I’m currently listening to Sweet Sexy Savage by Kehlani. It is one of my favorite albums released last year that I feel deserved a Grammy. CTRL by Sza too, but we are not here to talk about that. What I am here to talk about? I don’t know where to begin. Ill start with what currently happened which brought on my current hyper/hypo emotional state and I will work myself backwards. Today was suppose to be the day that I finally take my state boards exams for my barbers license. (Shit I don’t think I told y’all I was in barber school this whole past year. A nigga really did what he said he was going to do!) I didn’t go because my model called me literally an hour before we were to leave to the testing site, saying that he was ill with the flu and that he was not going to be able to make it. I kinda had a feeling that this was going to happen. At 8am I got a text from him saying he was up throwing up all night. So I’m like ok, it’s 8am and testing isn’t until 6pm so that should be plenty of time for him to rest up and get himself together for this. Basically I went the whole day just praying to God that he get better and everything goes as planned opposed to studying and reviewing like i had planned. I’m not mad...I can’t be. He was ill and you can’t control that. I believe his story. He’s not the type to lie. Plus he was soo down to help and be apart of everything I have been doing. He used to come to the school and get his haircut by me. It just fucking sucks when I was literally right there. Finally going to complete it all. And everyone knows, or probably doesn’t know that I was suppose to been have gotten my license. I started at the Barber College Feb 2017. I graduated (well i competed my 1800 hours) in Feb 2018 like the course catalog said I would. It was a good experience that ended too fast in my opinion. I met some great people there; people that I will consider my brothers for life. I don’t think i will give an in-depth review on the school itself. I don’t feel like it. So like I was saying, I competed my hours in the middle of Feb. I didn’t get my diploma until March because I still owed $1500 on my tuition. I had the money but I wasn’t in a great rush to pay it off because truth be told I didn’t have any barbershops lined up after completion so I didn’t rush paying it. When I finally paid it off, I was suppose to schedule my testing for my license immediately. Most people already have their dates already set up for like the following week of being totally finished with school. I didn’t go right away because I didn’t have a model lined up. You’re suppose to have a model that has to fit a bunch of different requirements about age, how much hair they have to have, how much hair you have to cut off, and they do a background check and a bunch of extra shit. It’s a big thing and it was hard to find the perfect model that fit and also that can be available during the testing time which is a whole 3 hour process. Fast forward to April when I knew that I was putting this shit off for way too long and it’s time to get serious again. I’ve been doing a few house cuts here and there and also working in a barbershop called Platinum Cuts on the weekends while still working my restaurant job just enough hours to pay my bills. I knew I still had shit to do in regards to my license. After asking everyone I could think of to be my model, and getting no’s, I finally found one person. Ok bet! I got my model. I told him everything that was told to me about the requirements, background check, testing center location, testing time and all that. And i’m like “are you sure that you can do this?! once i submit your name and pay my fees you have to be my model, i can’t cancel, change models or reschedule without forfeiting the fees that i have to pay.” Roughly $200. He’s like “yes, I’m available I can do it.” Mind you, I gave him the two dates that were offered to me for testing and the testing time on the 2nd of May wasn’t good for him because he needed work done on his car. So we chose the 16th. That worked better for the both of us because i still needed to study and review all over again. Plus at the time of us scheduling, the 2nd was like a few days away. Everything was going good. I was texting back and forth with him just letting him know don’t forget, asking if everything good with him and his car and shit like that. Just staying fresh in his mind so we can get this shit done and over with. All of this for him to cancel literally last minute. FUCK! This is all just embarrassing. Having technically been done with school since Feb and I’m still not licensed nor working consistently in a barbershop. It’s a real self esteem killer. Most of the guys that I went to school with are in shops or have started their own shops. They are making money and prospering in this field and i want to be just like that. I have so many people on my side telling me how good of a barber I am, how inspiring i am, and that I should be doing a lot more than what i’m doing now. I totally agree. I need to be working consistently, cutting consistently and challenging myself everyday. I know that it’s all coming from a place of love. You have to want it for yourself. I can honestly and vulnerably say that I haven’t felt the most confident lately i’ve basically been in dark cloud of depression since Feb. I haven’t felt this low since before I started Barber College, somewhere around the time of my last post probably. It’s a huge transition from Barber College. I totally understand how university students get depressed after graduating because they can’t find jobs and end up moving back home. I can humbly say I was one of the good students there, especially towards my last few months. Im not saying I was the best hair cutter, I wasn’t and will never claim to have been. I was good. i had clientele and stayed busy for the most part. I was doing like 8-10 haircuts on a regular day. Slave labor without pay lol. I was consistent with my attendance. Which was very helpful because all the other guys that were better than me were not consistent with their attendance. Some of them have been going to the school for years. Some are even still there. The school is designed to be a one year program. I think some people think of it as their job. We could accept tips up there so they might be banking. I was pretty damn good for barely cutting hair before I started. I could do a line up, an all even and trash taper. I was cutting my own hair for 5 years prior but never cut anyone else’s hair. I was trash then compared to now lol. Growth. But going from feeling like you the shit, being told you’re the shit, being hyped up daily, having people watching you and asking you questions to actually starting at he bottom in a shop with no clientele is a major shock. That shit really had me in my feelings and questioning myself, others, my skills and it this shit really for me. It’s not the shop that I worked at (past tense) because it’s been like 3 weekends since I’ve gone back and I don’t think I want to go back. The shop owner was actually my barber from middle school up until I met my barber/mentor Ronnie in 2009. So I’m familiar with the owner, Q. He had his own shop for 10 years and he’s the only barber in there. He’s had people work beside him from time to time over the years but no one ever stayed long. He’s already got his clientele on lock. My shop expectations are: be surrounded by people i respect and get along with meet people I can learn from and take advice from be in a shop that allows growth, creativity and room to just do and be me. I don’t want to say his shop didn’t offer none of that but again, his shop is his shop. not really a full staff of ppl kinda environment. I’m looking for a shop with a lot more traffic and walk ins. When you are just starting out cutting hair, that’s what you need. Walk ins to help you build up your own clientele. let’s everyone in the shop know you can cut and they see you cut. I’m not going to talk about the hotep conspiracy theories i had to listen to. The hotep youtube pastor we watched on tv daily in there who’s favorite topics were feminization of the black male and gays. But I’ll lowkey take all of that over the hood ass shops that my weak ass town has to offer. Also I wasn’t a fan of the percentage I was paying to cut there. When first starting out you usually pay a percentage (commission) until your clientele is up enough for you to pay booth rent. I’d rather just cut at home and be able to keep all my money. I want to find another shop to work at in the meantime before I move. Oh I don’t know if I told y’all, I’m moving to Atlanta in August. I put 6 months on my apartment lease back in Feb. It’s a lot of things that I could be doing to push myself and better myself right now to get me out this depression, but I feel like why should I put in that hard work now when i’m just going to be moving away in a few months. Getting established in a shop, building clientele that I’ll prolly only cut a few times. It’s just a lot going on at the moment in my life and my focus is everywhere, yet still no where to be honest. I know what kind of barber I want to be and what type of environment I want to work in and I don’t think that Lansing has that to offer me. All my school mates know this to be true too. They know I’m different. lol. So with my fingers crossed, I’m hoping that Atlanta will treat me right. I don’t want to talk to much about Atlanta because I’ll save that for another post. Hopefully not a whole ass two years or whatever. But I will when I get settled in or when I remember that I have a blog lol. I want to stop blogging only when I’m like knocking on depressions basement door trying to get out and blog more happier feelings and thoughts. Kehlani’s album just finished playing. I think I’m going to wrap this up with my last topic; support. Why don’t we support one another? I know that I shouldn’t be expecting or seeking support or validation from others, but fuck, we all wanna get our ego stoked a little bit. we want feedback and an occasional YASSS. I do expect something. I feel like i support, have supported a lot of people. I like your music, retweet your pictures, subscribe to your podcasts and give you your life when you deserve it. I don’t get that in return. Just like this blog, i’m glad i’m doing it for the betterment of be and not for y’all to car about me. No one would probably read this anyway. There is a handful of people that truly support me. I can count on one hand. I’m so very thankful for them. Then there is the people who see my haircut pictures online and won’t like them but in person will mention to me how dope I am at cutting. Then that’s when they give that fake “when can you cut my hair” but when I call them on it and and hold them accountable for asking for a cut and tell them to come thru, they all of a sudden busy or not responding anymore. I hate that. Sometimes you need to feel a little boost and a little support from others. Affirmation. Just a simple like, retweet, or a “I see you nigga!” comment. Something. I don’t want to say it’s hate. I don’t like to use that word and I don’t want to believe that people actually hate on me. I think people need to get comfortable in themselves and in what they are doing so we can show love to one another. idk. I’m tired and I’m probably not making any sense right now. I don’t feel like proof reading this and uploading it to tumblr either. Good night.
