i think MK would mostly feel a sense of loss for the fact that in a way, things should have been like this, like when he “hatched” Wukong probably would have found him if it wasn’t for the fact someone or something brought it to Pigsy shop. He would have grown up with someone who could tell him how to be a stone Monkey and teach him his power. Surely, I think Wukong wouldn’t have been as good as a parent as Pigsy, and MK doesn’t regret a bit how things actually ended up happening, but it’s a bit of a case of “sometimes I imagine how my life would have been if it went this way”

- rose would dm their first campaign likely. there is an act 1 joke in there somewhere ^ i honestly dont think she would gaf too hard about rules and value the monster manual greatly. maybe accidentally have the tendency to try and 'beat' the players in battle rather than dmming for their benefit to show off badass monster characteristics. - jade initially wanted to play a tabaxi but a wolf version and when figuring out she couldnt opted for a homebrew kobold (but like first edition where they have dog faces). - jade plays a bard. i'm not going off of their classpects here im going off the fact that she's the kind of baby gay to not fuck around about playing bards pcs. - john/june makes exclusively girl pcs (egg moment) usually they're just a pc version of xena warrior princess. emphasis on her muscles and hotness. to be badass, of course. (either plays a barbarian, fighter, or ranger so the pc can be a cool lady with a bow) - dave made rose write his character sheet for him but he's the idea man. It's always some shit like 'Frank the Gnome' and asks to make his strength 100 (also a barbarian player? maybe a fighter) - dave is one of those funny character players. their backstory is always something like 'my wife left me and now i'm mad', or 'i was dethroned from being the fresh prince of my kingdom Belle Aire'. rose thinks it's a little annoying. subtly punishes dave by putting him in serious roleplaying situations. all of them just play themselves and never really put on a new persona for their characters.

finally finished the profile for the danseiroido!! this took way too long just because drawing anime headshot is my biggest nightmare... and then ended up not even looking That anime LOL... i've already had a few comics up in the tag (search em to read!) but. a brief intro is that i basically just made them idols (somewhat) and threw them in the same boygroup to write sitcom/4-koma slice of life random jokes, as i always do! they also share the same universe with my entire vocaloid neighborhood setup (but this will - might - be for another day)

there isnt a deep overarching plot as for now, its just daily lives of a boygroup that doesnt really do anything idol-like and occasionally featuring others around them from the vocal synth ville. oh and idk if i can call them a polycule because they dont really think or operate that way But! i do want all of them to fool around and have their own "ship moment" (if you want to call it that? i dont really label these things and i want to write it that way) tldr they all fuck one another. every single ship in the group canon (EXCEPT the obvious anyone x len. timeout for him he got his ass kicked out whenever they do it...)

my concept/idea for it (not much tbh this is just me rediscovering my love for vocaloid - though one can argue it never went away - and started make up random shits for them so its pretty much spontaneous and not a serious project or anything) is a parody of sort on stereotypical otome/bl genres and boygroups and anime tropes and obviously the vocaloid fandom/history. but i dont think i know enough about bl nor anime nor boygroups so at the end of the day its just guys hanging out XD hm i should just tag my other vocaloid stuff something else too considering its an elaborated world now, with these guys in it, but... that... really is for another day...

you came out to remus a few months ago; he was the first person to know. you trust him with all of you. he's your best of best friends.

he was completely supportive of you, and he ended up coming out to you also. you both laughed at the end. it was a comforting feeling to know that your best friend you couldn't imagine living without will always be there.

it was relieving almost- to know that your relationship with remus will always be the same platonic thing. nothing will ever change between the two of you. nothing silly will bring you guys apart.

students don't usually care about hogwarts couples and whatever, but remus' love life was somehow intriguing for them. maybe because it was so unlike remus to get close to a girl. he is mysterious and it was interesting to see the two of you getting together.

to make the people around grow even more giddy; you blew remus a kiss, winking at him with the most flirtatious eyes you can manage. it turned out to be more comical than flirty.

he puts his hand over his mouth, muffling his laughter at the shocked faces people are making as he looked around.

james let out a snicker, looking at his friend with a funny look. only you and the marauders knows about remus' sexuality, so seeing people getting so worked up about a love story they narrated on their own was amusing.

All the requests/prompts I’ve gotten were for JxC which I love, and I have one or two more I’ll do, BUT I may or may not have dropped everything when I got this one cuz THE BOYS YES I WILL DRAW the boys. This is slightly before their early relationship, which is hopefully ok, but I love bi panic reggie and oblivious Mick and I’ve had an idea of something like this for a while, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to make it! I AM going to draw some cuddles/spicy/thirst trap/relationshippy stuff with them more often I think.

Anyway for context for those who don’t know these characters, or haven’t read my smallest project Call Me Mickey, Mick and Reggie are married and from my comic Seemingly Dark. This scene is just after their MeetCute on the internets of 2008, when online user MightyMouse jumps on a bus to Seattle to check on his ‘best pal’ RockabillyReggie, who suffers from chronic depression. Mickey has never been in a real relationship or found himself attracted to any of the girls his other friends try to hook him up with back in LA, well it turns out that’s cuz he’s INCREDIBLY GAY and his new found friend Reggie helps him navigate new found feelings.

Reg, ofc, has a big thirst for this cute dude crashing on the couch in his apartment but tries very hard to keep his cool until Mick confesses to him later that night.

SO YEAH I really do love them. I don’t draw as much as I used too cuz I have a little bit of sad surrounding their stories (bad memory/sad boy hour stuff) but getting over that slowly but surely. And ofc Mick is the main protagonist in Seemingly Dark, least we forget. He has big things up ahead, and I cannot wait to show you he and Reggie’s continued story.

I'll focus on what bothered me most. the excessive, grating use of therapy-speak was like nails on a chalkboard. it made sense for characters like, say, heather to go on long monologues of pop psychology buzzwords because she's a psych student and that's what psych students sound like. that part where vito was talking to zoey, that made sense too, because he's probably been in therapy. everyone else was like. Normal People Don't Talk Like This. so many times characters just went on weird tangents where they basically stated all of their struggles, motivations, and traumas right there. Normal People Don't Talk Like That. I guess they don't call itt total traumda fojnithgin!!!

another thing I didn't really understand was the age gap between cecily (was that her name) and courtney. for some reason going in I assumed that the main cast was like, mid to late twenties, so heather and gwen's reactions made sense! and then they were like "but you're TWENTY THREE (pr whatever it was)" and I was like uh? what. I'm only twenty I know this. but a 4-5 year age gap with someone you met at university as an adult isn't like. grooming. I understand the point was that courtney dates people she can control and that was the problem, I guess it just would have been more profound if cecily was like, just over 18 or something really egregious, maybe I'm just too young to get it yet. whatever this tangent was pointless sorry. besides the fact that tt was selling merch of courtney x cecily before denouncing them as a super toxic couple LOL

totaltrauma is something of a guilty pleasure for me in that i dont like, interact w/ the comics to support them but i do keep up with it and i have read the whole thing. like, you can say a lot of bad things about it. but i havent ever heard it called boring.!

you can tell theres a ton of effort put into the art as well.. replicating the td style is hard to do! i think cecily’s character design is rly good. most ppl fail to make convincing characters in the td style that arent clearly using a base, since every design has a unique build.

but the cons. yeahgh. the npd thing is craaazy even if amy’s going for a redemption arc is it good representation to have one single character with npd. and the first thing she does when diagnosed is celebrate that she has an excuse for abusing her sister now.

and you look in the replies and responses to the comic are multiple people going omg my ex was a narcissist just like her ughh so self absorbed and abusive etc like. i cant possibly see how pri thought the npd amy plot was a good idea..!

homestuck ends. it's a somewhat open ended ending and they dont show the "proper" final battle, but it was implied in the comic already how it was going to go. a lot of people remained disappointed in that, but i personally think its a good one

hussie, well known troll (haha) who more often than not both praised and made fun of the fandom directly in the comic, writes the epilogues. they're mostly awful and they're the umpteenth big fuck you to the fandom really; one is the "shipping" ending where everything goes bad bc everyone focuses only on shipping, the one is the "fighting" ending where everything goes bad and everyone fucking dies basically. it has some good ideas, there's more fourth wall breaking, but overall its an inconsistent sexist and misoginistic mess made out of spite by someone who clearly didn't want to work on homestuck anymore

it also features character assassination, be it "this character who's entire plot was about not wanting to be alone anymore is now a sex-crazed maniac who doesnt take no as an answer", "this character who was groomed all her life to be a dictator actually becomes hitler" or "this character who a lot of people hc as mtf is now ftm, but specifically in a timeline, in the other they still identify as female". you could argue it's bc the story is about one of the characters having a villain arc and managing to take control of the story and rewrite them, but he's also regressed to be someone who's obsessed with a character we were told he wasn't in love with anymore AND also says transphobic stuff so.

hussie actually opens the epilogues with one of the character saying pretty clearly that they're "beyond canon", and makes sure that everyone known that anything written outside of the comic itself, including sidecomics, videogames and the epilogues themselves, is as canon as you want it to be. unfortunately homestuck fans cant read and that + the fact that the epilogue end in a cliffhanger, homestuck 2 has to happen

hussie wants nothing to do with it and leaves the project to someone else. they give little to no details of the plot if not a few plotpoints, one of which being the fact that a character must be named yiffany

one of the people who was supposed to work on hs2 and the tie-in visual novel games "friendsim" starts fights with readers on twitter and is later on outed as a really bad person of the biphobic and ableist variety

on a minor note, some updates are patreon exclusive, and not in a "they'll eventually be posted" way, but in a "either you follow the patreon or you dont get the whole experience" kind of way

the story also has to follow the aformentioned sexist transphobic racist bullshit, to which they add terribly written "bury your gays" plot and also cheating!! no matter the timeline my girl kanaya gets shafted and cheated on and by now im gonna be real it really smells like lesbophobia in here

in all of this, "what pumpkin" actually starts drama with a youtuber or something. idk. it's the team that sells the hs merch it's even more complicated. oh and also the videogame being so delayed that's a whole can of worms too.

anyway hussie actually says that they dont give a shit no more about homestuck and sell the rights to someone else. first thing we're told is that they're going to drop the 2 from the title of homestuck 2, turning it into homestuck: beyond canon. pretty much openly saying that no, this has nothing to do with homestuck, and it's officially Not Canon.

well. i'm upset that the shows going to have a difficult time having more serious scenes now. and that's probably what it's going to try and set itself up for.

i reaaaally would have loved to see this show do something ACTUALLY different and good. by different i mean in terms of writing and not necessarily drifting from source material. yes i'm still sour over last ep, but i wouldn't be AS sour if everyone on the show didn't treat harry and asta's relationship as "mother and child." and also if the show didn't take such a nose dive into the type of comedy it's putting out.

ALSO? IN A RECENT INTERVIEW? Sheridan going on to state that harry would lose his first """love""" (more like lust. awesome that a show trying to teach human emotion gets those two things mixed up) and then realize there's love everywhere or something? why does this feel like "weird" people are forever left to the role of outcasts. already fucked it up once i guess the guy's trying to fuck it up more. could've just left it at "he'll lose his first love, then he will have to reconcile with his feelings." but he had to drop in that last corny bit.

like. the show's source is already good. i don't understand all these decisions they're making to try and make it seem "unique." and now to get numbers back they're dumbing it way down. WHICH. also, predictions kind of. i'm not trying to say this will be the be all end all but it certainly could be a turn the show takes. in one of the issues of the comic (suicide blonde i think), harry is investigating the "suicide" of a woman. by the end of the issue, he catches up with her ex-lover and ex-roommate. they were both ladies. and the girl who died had a drinking problem btw. and was constantly seeing boys. i'm all for gay couples on screen as a gay guy myself but it'll feel so cheap to pair darcy and asta together despite the way theyve been played on screen. maybe its doable. i don't know. but i genuinely could care less considering the overall tone of the show's drifted more towards a sitcom than anything else. i think the small handful of 40+ year old gay wine moms would probably love it, but the vast majority of viewers wont. either they'll hate it and say it's forced diversity (there's already people saying that about the gay couple on screen this past episode) or it'll be another nothing moment to a further nothing story. if anything it'd feel one step removed from tokenization, considering they see harry as a manchild. ableism! show's trying to seem fucking wholesome but they can't be bothered to care about their nd viewers. like "haha look we have a main gay couple!!! what do you *mean* our show has rampant ableist tropes, we have a gay couple!"

i'm just so bummed. the show's cornered itself into a sitcom so meaningful moments aren't a thing anymore. plus the comparison of harry to a child is really getting at me. like he's a grown man as a human, and hes a grown alien thing as an alien. it's such a big slap in the face to any person who cherished the witty and unique story telling of the first season... like.... i don't know.... people who would've been fans of the comic too? i have small gripes about the comic, but at least it takes itself more seriously. but the show runners haaate the people who read the comics. why? i dont know. well maybe i do know. probably seen as too nerdy and weird for their idea of the show's viewerbase. despite the fucking basis of the show being weird and nerdy.

i guess griswald could be recurring since he had two eps and in the comics there was a recurring antagonist who was a bulldog but i dont care enough about griswald to expand on that idea

8. What's the best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?

Best commenter experiences ive ever had are when I spend way too much effort putting really specific tidbits and references into my work and someone takes the time to point them out. (I like to reference internet memes or to use real locations in my fics as often as possible. Or even when i just write a line that i think is clever or funny and someone else mentions that they liked it)

I can't remember specific feedback from any of my formal workshops regarding my work specifically but the best mechanical feedback ive ever heard is that oftentimes as writers we have to write ourselves into a scene so the first few hundred words will wind up not being necessary because it's just the writerly equivalent of warming up.

22. Do you start with characters or plot?

I guess I start with characters first. I tend to start with a specific moment or interaction with almost all my work - and that comes with the character themselves. Usually its a scenario i want to lead into, or a event that I want to unpack the aftermath of- but hold on that sounds like plot?!??

Im confusing myself now LOL. But i think for me its always about the specific character and the specific moment and untangling the psychological and emotional elements. The broader sequence of events is usually just drapery and set dressing that allows me to scan through until i find a specific emotional or character beat i want to play with. So while the scene itself may revolve around an action, that tends to fall in place after I've pinpointed the emotional friction i want to rub at.

Sometimes I do want to play with big plots! But its not something i have the chance to do often because plots are generally heavy machinery that i dont have time to operate. But occasionally ill have an idea thats just like "i want a character to get placed in an unfamiliar environment and has to learn to adapt"

39. What’s the weirdest story idea you’ve ever had?

I have like... Unmarketable story ideas all the time. I wanted to retell the events of the Batman comics through newspaper articles, but the amount of effort it would take would not be worth the output or the angry "um, actually" types in the comments

And i tried to submit a story for an assignment that was about a crater that appeared in a residential city block but i just couldnt land on anything to hold it together

But if it's weird erotica or romance fanfic i tend to just write those LOL. I am no stranger to weird magic/sci-fi sex. I just remembered that I wanted to write a gay furry novella at one point and that's probably the biggest outlier in my career
