too much action not enough emotionally resonant quiet moments. hm. if i was in the writers room i honestly wouldve cut half that shit. first off. it doesnt need to take place on easter. thats barely relevant. i would set it on christmas make it a solidly christmas movie as well as release it and theme the marketing more heavily as a christmas film. i mean the main guys jack frost. him and christmas theres something there. make it more about saving the holiday idfk save christmas it’s cliche but it works and it would be focussed . the movie Really really needed focus. easter is ruined but literally no one cares and that plot is done in 5 mins canon. honestly you could cut the easter bunny entirely. theres just way too much going on in this film man. bring aster in for the potential sequel which they might have actually gotten if they performed better ey

there was just no reason to set the movie on easter. shrugs. pointless plot goes nowhere. the conclusion is dissatisfying as well. make it cleaner and more straightforward

pitch attack -> gets sandy, children are corrupted and dont believe blah blah -> omg jack frost save christmas -> belief restored. something something.

in canon. easter is ruined bc it’s a big holiday but it also doesnt fucking matter if you dont get easter eggs. bc if a holiday that was mattered got ruined it would be too depressing for kids. thats also a trap how to make the stakes seem deep and real without actually having real stakes and no one can die.

to make the story work i think youve gotta figure out how to ruin christmas so the kiddys stop believing to get real stakes but then how to bring it back. is there any way to save a holiday thats already over? hmmm. kicks my feet. i’ll ponder this.

rise of the guardians is a good movie but it got spread too thin i think. just too much going on for the amount of time. it’s got too much lore and it presents it so quickly that the parts that do come across are unsatisfying. mhm. good movie. couldve been better
