I finished season 1 of Vrains and it was cool but I thought it needed about 2 billion more secret identity shenanigans
extended thoughts below
So I went into a deep dive in my last two posts (1, 2) about all the problems I had with Vrains, and you'd think I didn't enjoy it, but in fact as I was watching, there was a separate, parallel version of Vrains that was playing in my head, a Yugioh I think we were robbed of and which fixes every problem I had with the first season, and that is Secret Identities AU.
Yusaku needs FRIENDS
This is YUGIOH.
This dynamic is everything I wanted from Vrains. Yusaku developing unexpected fondness for these bozos who think he needs a defense squad. I want Miraculous Ladybug levels of secret identity shenanigans. I want Yusaku slapping his duel disk every time Ai tries to blow their cover.
This AU sprung forth from the scene in the duel club where he shows Naoki his decoy deck. Having Yusaku passing as a bad duelist is 1) so funny, but 2) Yusaku needing to maintain his low profile is a useful contrivance for other characters to get more duels, and 3) I think it would be a really fun one-off episode where Yusaku has to duel using his bad deck. When he wins, Naoki is so proud he cries.
Having Yusaku actually have to interact with the other characters in the real world opens up Greek play levels of dramatic irony. The crux of a secret identity story is that every single interaction builds up anticipation, because you the viewer know that the other party is being deceived, and that the tension will snap when the secret is revealed.
I have zero anticipation about Playmaker's identity being revealed, because Aoi would be like "oh.... I guess he goes to my school" and Go would be like "have I seen that guy before?" But SIAU Playmaker? My guy is making friends just so he can betray them. Insane.
Go needs A ROLE IN THE STORY.
I said in my first post that Go isn't a rival or a best friend character. SIAU fixes this by making him both simultaneously.
Having him be the ace of the duel club is a natural replacement for his whole hero of the orphans schtick, while placing him directly the circle of relevance with the other characters. Instead of being disgruntled that the orphans suddenly like Playmaker more than him, he's disgruntled that Naoki and the duel club mooks are fawning over Playmaker -- which is actually just Naoki's character anyway.
I would kill for a big dramatic moment where Go learns that Playmaker and Yusaku are the same person, and even though Go feels betrayed that Yusaku has been deceiving him, he stands by Yusaku anyway because they're friends.
With a secret identity story, every conversation is working on multiple levels because each character is working with asymmetric information. You get these fascinating, layered scenes of two characters talking past each other because they cannot give up their secret.
Which would go especially hard with Go and Yusaku, because Go has legitimate criticisms of Playmaker in canon and Yusaku has legitimate reasoning behind the things he does, and as Go Onizuka and Playmaker they could never come to an understanding on them, but as Go and Yusaku, two friends in duel club, that door becomes open to them.
Aoi needs WRITING THAT ISN'T A TRAINWRECK
I made a whole post on this. Basically every problem would be solved if Akira doesn't know that she's Blue Angel. There's no reason for her to lose grotesquely against Yusaku, or have her basic autonomy called into question constantly.
Having her actively deceive her brother is delicious. Like I said in my last post, it's so obvious how Akira's overprotectiveness has taken its toll on Aoi, and pushed her into developing this other persona, Blue Angel. I want this absolutely dysfunctional sibling relationship so badly. The Blue Angel vs. Zaizen duel would make me lose my mind.
And a secret identities setting works so well with the potential themes of VRAINS as a stand-in for the internet and Blue Angel as an idol. Give me that Perfect Blue Satoshi Kon good stuff. Give me those themes about identity, and the different lives we live, outward and inward, online and offline.
This also helps Akira's character, because I think he would be much more interesting and relevantly positioned in the story if he stayed a SOL Technologies baddie. SOL Technologies has very little presence in season 1 despite being critical to the story. After Zaizen is replaced by an irrelevant clown, they don't do anything but send out mook AIs to get destroyed. By having a three-way standoff between Yusaku's squad, the Knights of Hanoi, and SOL Technologies, both Hanoi and SOL Technologies become more compelling. They've both got all the reason in the world to want to take down the other. Zaizen vs. Revolver or Spectre? That's good shit.
And don't get me started on how I would turn Revolver into a Secret Identities character.
#anyway hire me konami#I didn't even get into how I would involve kusanagi and ghost girl#yugioh vrains#yusaku fujiki#aoi zaizen#go onizuka#akira zaizen#naoki shima#ai vrains#ygo#pico art#pico commentary

— Let's Dance
PART 1
STYLE INSPIRATION
pairing/s: BEBE! Bada Lee x Jam Republic! Reader x Wolf'Lo! Chocol
warnings: None so far, an unrealistic description of being an exchange foreign student, might confuse some words in ballet (as most of them are only through research and not based on experience).
description: A professional ballet dancer in Street Woman Fighter Season 2? (Y/N) Bae, a 23-year-old ballerina and dance prodigy enters the fighting arena alongside the infamously known crew, Jam Republic. Making the team's aura and presence far more intimidating despite being clad in soft pink and white clothing, adorned with astonished faces and friendly smiles. As the young woman entered the arena with curious eyes and small smile, the other teams couldn't help but awe at her beauty and elegant aura, unknowingly capturing the eyes of two charismatic dancers.
status: unedited
word count: 4.5k
"They're the last one to enter."
"This crew is intimidating."
These are just some of the comments circulating around the arena as they waited for the last and final crew to come out.
"It's amazing that JAM REPUBLIC is here," Akanen, Tsubakill's leader, stated in awe. Looking at the empty space where the last crew of the show have yet to enter the small arena.
A certain buzz was felt in the air as the other contestants waited for the anticipated arrival of JAM REPUBLIC. More notably, they were excited to meet the celebrity of all dancers, Kirsten Dodgen.
"We'll see Kirsten in person," Biggy stated admiringly.
Dancers expressed their love and admiration for the pink crew's leader and her arrival. One member from Deep N' Dap even stated that she cried when Kirsten cancelled on her classes due to visa issues after she signed up for all four of her classes. Her leader, Mina Myoung, promptly scolded her. Stating firmly that "this is a serious competition." Despite this, two of her members joked around, lifting up the atmosphere that turned heavy just before.
The longer the dancers wait, the more nervous and excited they get to finally meet the members of the crew.
"Wah, Kirsten is here," Yeni, a member of Wolf'Lo stated. The said woman bounced a little on her seat, the adrenaline rush pumping into very veins so fast she could barely contain it.
"Hey," she perked up, turning to Baby Sleek as she remembered something important.
"Hey Baby Sleek, is it true that (Y/N) was once your student?" Her question caused all the members to look at their oldest curiously and for confirmation.
A fond smile crossed Baby Sleek's face as she shrugged her shoulder. "Yeah," she confirms making her members awe and shout in disbelief as she rarely takes in students. "She was for a short while. (Y/N) trained under me for more or less than three years." The other crew turned to Wolf'Lo when they heard the commotion, curious to know what made them react in such a way.
"Wow, what was she like?" Haechi questioned. "Is she really that pretty in real life?"
Baby Sleek nodded, "when I first met her, I was so shocked at how pretty that kid is. I thought she was an idol. In my mind I was like, what the hell? How can this kid be so pretty at her age?" The members laughed at the whiny tone of her voice.
"But putting her looks aside, (Y/N) really is a monster at dance. A natural. At first, I was hesitant at her skills since she is more focused on the ballet genre, but after a few lessons, the girl was a beast. As if she was dancing hip-hop since she could walk! Of course, there were times where she would struggle with something, but her dedication and hard work pushed her through it all. It was really admirable."
The other members were floored at the high regards and compliments Baby Sleek showered you in. Suddenly feeling much more intimidated by the crew that isn't even present yet. Yeni, Haechi, and Halo nodded for the respect they felt for the Jam Republic member while Chocol and Mini sat rigidly in their seat.
"Yah, I'm starting to regret picking her as my No Respect Dancer," Mini laughed nervously before faking a cry and shoving her hands to cover her face. "Why didn't you say that before we pick the weakest dancers?!" She whined.
"They're not even here yet calm down," Chocol said, patting Mini on the shoulder in a mock comfort. "Have confidence, we can probably give her a good fight and win at the end of the day."
Halo and Baby Sleek giggle at the antics of their members and nodded encouragingly.
"Aya, don't mind. The both of you probably have more freestyle and dance battle experience than her. Don't doubt your capabilities now," Halo, their leader, commented while patting their heads.
"Right. Be confident, but keep your guard up. We saw her list of accomplishments before, so let's be prepared." Baby Sleek said seriously, shaking her hands a little to expel the nerves of the upcoming competition as her mind slowly shifts into battle mode.
〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜
Meanwhile, the pink crew of Jam Republic waited patiently for their cue to enter the arena in their given room.
(Y/N) tapped her hands against her thighs repeatedly. "I'm so excited and nervous at the same time."
Her members giggled at her but also felt the same energy as her. Ling, who sat next to her on her right, held her right hand to squeeze it gently for a few times.
"Me too. But don't worry, we got this." (Y/N) smiled at her as she intertwined their fingers together and squeezed her hand back.
"You'll be fine girl, we got your back." Latrice said, smilingly comfortingly at her as she sat next to Emma who gave you a nod and a finger heart to which you giggled.
Audrey, who sat next to her, leaned her head against her shoulder and looped her arm around her. "Yeah, calm down and let's just have fun! There's nothing to worry about." (Y/N) smiled fondly at the youngest member of the group, patting her knee in gratitude.
"I mean come on," Kirsten said, clapping her hands out of excitement and to hype her fellow members up, "this is us we're talking about!"
"Okay, okay, okay!" (Y/N) shouted, now pumped and excited, "Let's do this!" The girls laughed at her sudden mood change and hyped each other up even more. Even though some of them just met a couple of days ago, they were now starting to form a bond with each other. She smiled at the sight before her, feeling the warmth that bloomed in her chest, leaning back on the couch to compose herself.
The moment (Y/N) closed her eyes and took a deep breath, the TV screen came to life, signaling to their crew that it was time to enter the arena. The Jam Republic girls simultaneously yelled in surprise and excitement. Feeling gittery, Kirsten stood up and the rest of the girls followed her lead.
"Okay guys, are we ready?" She asked.
The members giggled a positive response albeit the nervous, quiet laughter that accompanied it as they form a circle.
"Shall we do this?" Kristen asked, placing a hand in front and the members followed one-by-one. "Entrance is going to be fire, three, two, one, wee!"
"Wee!" They followed along, laughing and giggling as they exited their room and walked towards the arena.
"Let's dance!"
The group walked down the narrow hallway of the building. Audrey clinging to (Y/N)'s arm and squeezing her hand gently with a bright smile on her face. She couldn't help but find the youngest so adorable! The dimples on her cheeks made (Y/N) want to pinch her cheeks really hard.
She then gestured to Emma who was falling behind a little, signaling her to walk beside them. Once she fell on step with (Y/N) and Audrey, the former girl wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Which was quite easy as the ballet dancer was noticeably the tallest amongst them (in her crew at least). The girls stated their excitement as they walked, feeling the nerves and adrenaline creep in.
Kirsten walked in front of them, leading the crew around the place until she momentarily stopped at the entrance.
"Ooooohhhh!" she cooed, placing both hands on the sides of the opening as she marveled at the sight before her.
"Holy damn!" Ling exclaimed once she saw how huge the room is. As they walked, they couldn't help but look around in amazement, eyes sparkling and hearts beating.
"Wow! This is so exciting!" Latrice and Audrey commented. (Y/N) giggled at them, enjoying their reactions that made her feel less conscious and nervous.
She'll be seeing her old teacher again, and she can't wait for it. After all these years, (Y/N) wanted to prove to Baby Sleek that all her training had not been in vain.
As soon as the other teams heard them, almost all of them perked up in their seat and looked up towards the stairs where they'll enter shortly.
"Oh, they're coming," Yoonji, a member of Mannequeen said in an excited tone.
"Wah, we'll be seeing them soon omg," Yeni clapped her hands lightly. Looking at the stairs in anticipation for the awaited group.
"You'll see your protegee soon Baby Sleek after all these years," Halo nudged her, "how are you feeling?"
"I think I might cry once I see her," Baby Sleek's answer made the members giggle fondly at her before cooing at the sight of her face. She looks like a mother waiting for her daughter to come home after all these years.
It wasn't long before the figure of Kirsten made her way down the stairs followed closely by the other members. The rest of the crew gasped in shock as soon as they saw her.
"Welcome to Korea!" A girl stated as the girls descended slowly down the stairs.
While descending, (Y/N) holds onto the railing of the stairs to look around the room to find her former mentor, taking advantage of the height to seek her out. She was so focused on finding her that she failed to see the looks of shock and awestruck faces of the other teams as soon as she turned around. Her eyes met Baby Sleek's, a bright grin soon adorned her face once they made eye contact and an excited giggle escaped her lips.
Unbeknownst to her, a certain dancer on the same team as her former mentor was blown away the moment she set eyes on you.
"Wow..." She whispered breathlessly, keeping her eyes on you.
Once the girls adorned in pink, white, and black clothing landed on the bottom of the stairs, they were once again looking around in astonishment and bowing to the people around while the others made comments about them.
"Wah, look at Kirsten's figure. It reminds me of Gabee."
"Their aura is so intimidating."
"Omo, Audrey is really pretty."
"She looks like a doll."
The team closest to them, BEBE, stared at Audrey in awe.
"Why is she so pretty?" Bada commented in awe, leaning back slightly in her seat while Tatter looked at her in wonder. "She looks like Anne Hathaway." She commented.
"I can't see (Y/N)," Lusher whined. The girl had her back facing the blue team making them unable to see her face. "I didn't see her clearly just now."
"Oh my god is that (Y/N)?!" The mentioned girl and her team almost jumped in shock at the loud voice that called out to her. They turn around to find a girl standing with a shock expression complete with a hand to her mouth as she stares at the girl she yelled for. Jam Republic laughed loudly and clapped their hands.
(Y/N) giggled and covered the bottom half of her flushed face. "Hello, nice to meet you." She said in fluent Korean and bowed down to the girl that was still standing.
Harimu, a member of 1 Million and her team yelled in surprise yet again, causing another laughter to roar out from Jam Republic.
"How can someone be that beautiful?!" Harimu yelled aloud, causing laughter to erupt from the room as she whined and stomped her foot to the ground in a faux tantrum manner.
Feeling even more flustered (Y/N) turned to hide her blushing face, fanning it down to compose herself but accidentally made eye contact with one of the hottest and trendiest choreographers today, Bada Lee.
So pretty, (Y/N) thought.
She regained her composure and grinned at the girl who was now staring at her with wide eyes and an agape mouth.
"Hello, nice to meet you all," she greeted the team, forcing herself to look away from Bada's eyes to bow down at every member of BEBE.
"Omo!" Lusher yelled, grabbing onto Kyma's hand, who was sitting beside her in shock. "Oh my god!" The rest of the team could only stare in shock at the woman still smiling, all of them shared similar looks of shock and admiration.
(Y/N) gave them one last smile and a bow before returning to her team, choosing to stand behind along with Audrey.
"Did you see her?"
"Oh my god her visuals are out of this world."
"My god, have you seen her height? She could be a VS model."
"Or those cliché movies about princesses."
"Bada-unnie," Tatter called out to her, giggling once she saw the still awestruck look on Bada's face, her gaze still trained and focused on (Y/N). "Our leader is still in a starstruck trance everyone."
"Looks like someone has a crush~," Minah teased, poking the shoulder of her leader with her pointer finger.
Bada snapped her gaze away once she heard the teasing tones of her team members and light shoves on her shoulder. She groaned and hid her flushed face away.
"Shut up!" Bada's voice came out muffled but the others still heard it loud and clear.
"Wah, she's a young woman now," Halo looked at Baby Sleek who commented in a soft voice. Despite the fond smile that painted her face, tears began to well up in her eyes. The leader chuckled softly and wrapped her arm around her for a side hug, rubbing her hand up and down her shoulder.
Chocol stared.
Even though (Y/N)'s back was facing them, she stared. Taking note of her poise, the way she stands and holds herself. Shoulders back and standing tall, petite that of a standard ballerina but somehow oozes that aura of regal elegance. Wow, Chocol thought. She's like some sort of royalty.
The large screen above suddenly made a noise, effectively catching the attention of Jam Republic and everyone else.
"Oooh," (Y/N) said, holding onto Audrey's hand when the younger one sought hers out. "Evaluation time."
Jam Repuiblic stood in front of it, anxiously awaiting the thougts, opinions, and evaluation of them by other crews with a smile on their face. Although (Y/N) nervous, she had a feeling that most of these aren't going to be friendly since this is a competition show. They need something for drama after all.
"The strong point of Jam Republic is the fact that they've been on the great stage. We can't ignore this."
(Y/N) smiled at the sweet comment, though, that didn't last long.
"All the members of Jam Republic think that they're number 1. Everyone wants to be the main dancer. Can they really be united?" Ah, there it is.
(Y/N) subtely side-eyed Akanen who commented on the video. She has respect for the dancer and leader of Tsubakill, admires her even, but she can't help but smirk towards her. She understands her point, but it still wasn't enough to hide that but of irritation towards her comment. Akanen, who was looking at Jam Republic when her comment was shown, gulped when she made eye-contact with (Y/N) and swiftly looked away.
"Wah, she didn't like that comment." Momo commented when she saw the three second interaction of the dancers.
"I know, I'm suddenly scared," Tsubakill giggled quietly at Akanen.
The next few comments of the evaluation targeted Kirsten and her affiliation with the world renowned crew, The Royal Family. (Y/N) titled her head in confusion when a dancer tried to insult Kirsten by looking for Paris Goebel instead of her.
"They do know you're one of the key members for a reason right?" She nudged at her leader, leaning down to whisper in her ear. Kirsten just nodded and smiled in response with her eye glued to the screen in front.
"A fake Royal Family?" (Y/N) couldn't help but gasped humourly at the harsh comment.
If that wasn't enough, the next comments are targeting Audrey. (Y/N) felt the younger girl squeeze her hand; she turned to look at her face to find the girl trying to keep a small smile despite the harsh criticisms thrown her way.
"She looks like an amateur dancer. The skills of a baby dancer."
"Audrey is a pretty doll. As she's a pretty doll, standing and doing nothing would be enough."
"Oh my gosh," the taller girl clicked her tongue in annoyance towards the comments. Are they really doubting her skills because she's young and pretty? "That's a shallow critic."
Jam Republic giggled in shock when those words came out of her mouth. The other teams, on the other hand, looked at her face nervously. The happy and excited face of the tallest Jam Republic member, now, still has a small smile; but eyes devoid of any emotion.
"She looks like she's seething with rage right now." Bada commented, leaning forward with clasped hands, resting her elbows on her knees whilst keeping her gaze on the girl in pink.
"She's like an older sister who wants to fight the bully of her younger sister," Tatter said, the rest of the crew agreed with her after taking a swift glance before looking back at the screen.
"(Y/N) is another pretty face," ah, there goes the comments about her. The mentioned girl straightened her back and inhaled deeply. Mentally preparing herself to receive the harsh comments thrown at her.
"(Y/N) is a professional ballerina who had performed on broadways before and competed in ballet genre on competitions. I don't think some people realize how hard it is to compete in ballet and make it look so easy. I really have so much respect for her." The said girl couldn't help but bow in gratitude at the praise she received from a member of Mannequeen, Cera.
"Thank you so much," she whispered. Audrey grinned brightly at her and nudged her teasingly.
"(Y/N) is a ballerina, right? And a pretty one at that. She could stand on pointe all day and stand on a music box, let it spin her around, and people would appreciate her dancing."
"I honestly don't think she could perform well in any other type of genre since her main focus is on ballet."
"Yeah, like a one trick pony."
The gasps could be heard echoing throughout the room after the comment. (Y/N)'s and her team members' jaw dropped in shock, "ouch, that hurts."
The former girl clutched her chest in exaggeration and pretended to lose her balance. Audrey held on to her and laughed at her dramatic antics.
The room suddenly erupted in shock when the screen showed how many No Respct stickers each Jam Reublic member will receive. Above showed their names in huge, bold, and bright fonts their name and the results:
Kristen - 2
Latrice - 0
Ling - 1
Emma - 1
(Y/N) - 4
Audrey - 6
An overwhelming amount of people chose Audrey as their No Respect Dancer. The youngest member of Jam Republic cheered and held her thumbs up in the air, whilst (Y/N) just clapped slowly with a smile, still looking at the results.
4 No Respect Dancer stickers might not be much compared to Audrey. However, the message was still loud and clear that there are people who are doubting her as a dancer.
"Okay, okay," she said, turning to Audrey as she held up a hand, "let's show them what we've got." The two girls high-fived each other with matching grins.
As they made their way to their designated seats. (Y/N) made eye contact with Baby Sleek. She grinned towards her and gave a small wave, bowing down in greeting towards Wolf'Lo who sat beside them.
(Y/N) sat at the top of the seat with her back straight, a trait she acquired after it was conditioned in her body. She was still quite frustrated at the one trick comment she received. She clicked her tongue in frustration and puffed her cheeks, inhaling and exhaling deeply through her nose.
"You okay?" Kirsten asked and patted her thigh.
"Yeah," she nodded - albeit partly lying. "Don't worry, Audrey and I will make sure they'll eat their words after they see us dance."
Audrey shot her finger guns with a wink, "that's right mama!"
She laughed at her adorableness and pinched her cheeks. Inhaling deeply one last time, she forced herself to relax and remember that it's all part of the show. (Y/N) gathered her hair all together in her hands and placed them behind her back when she heard a sound of awe.
Startled, the girl turned her head to the side. Staring at her was a woman with bright red hair that it almost looks orange. She thought it suited her very well and loves the boyish look the other woman adorned.
Chocol flushed furiously when her eyes suddenly met (Y/N)'s. One moment, she was admiring her side profile, then the next, she's looking into her eyes. She gasped as she placed a hand on her mouth and bowed deeply.
"Nice to meet you! I didn't mean to stare, I'm sorry!"
(Y/N) giggled and bowed to her as well, waving her hand dismissively at the poor woman whose head was still bowing down. "Nice to meet you too! And don't worry, it's fine, thank you!" She grinned with a blush on her face.
Haechi laughed at her flustered team member, garnering second-hand embarrassment from her. Both of their teams turned their attention to the commotion behind them and laughed at the flustered state their two members are in.
"Look at Chocol's face! It's almost the same color as a tomato," Buckey commented as she watched their interaction. Mannequeen giggled in amusement.
Wolf'Lo seemed intimidating when they first arrived. Now, one of their members are left in a flustered mess against a member of Jam Republic.
"I guess even Chocol couldn't resist (Y/N)'s charm." Redlic commented.
Once the commotion died down (there's still a red hue across Chocol's face), the room cheered once again once the judges were introduced: Shin Monika, Son Hyun-woo (Shownu), and the guest judge; Mike Song.
After the introduction, all the crews were instructed to return to their hideout rooms to change and prepare for their first mission: No Respect Battle.
Jam Republic debriefed about their evaluation after they've changed as they waited for their cue to return back to the arena. The members lounged comfortably at the couch while Audrey was left standing to voice out her frustrations.
"It's like, you can't even see my face! It's the shoulders! They're focusing on my shoulders!" She laughed in frustration.
"I know! They see one video of you doing markings, and suddenly, they deemed you as the worst dancer!" (Y/N) replied, leaning against Ling as she hugs the plush bunny tightly.
There's a visible frown etched upon Audrey's face. She understands her frustrations and sadness that the youngest might be feeling right now. So, she stands up and makes her way towards her. (Y/N) placed her hands on her shoulders as she bends her knees to be on Audrey's eye level.
"What they said about you isn't a reflection of all the hard work and dedication you've put into your craft. Don't let their comments get into your head too much. They don't know what you bring into the table."
(Y/N) tilted her chin up with her finger when Audrey smiled at her. "Chin up, darling. Show them what you've got. "
Back in the arena, the tension in the air thickened. Dancers stretched and prepared for the upcoming battle; the first bettle and mission of the season. Everyone wants the win for themselves; everyone wants to prove themselves and the stregths of their team.
Jam Republic conversed to themselves as they stretched. (Y/N) was in middle spilts as she conversed with Emma and Latrice.
"Who do you want to battle (Y/N)," Emma asked as she stretches her shoulders.
"Oh, definitely Cera of Mannequeen." She answered instantly before standing up. "We have the most similar style out of everyone, and I love her power and charisma when she battles. She's so cool."
(Y/N) was about to add onto her comment when she saw BEBE enter the arena, more specifically, their leader. Bada came into her view dressed in oversized clothing and a cap in her head, almost covering her eyes. Her outfit and confidence boosted her charisma, which left (Y/N) speechless.
Bada took a sip of her drink before scanning around the room. Initially, she did this to scout out her competition when she met the wide eyes of a certain member of the pink team.
(Y/N) chocked in her saliva in shock when their eyes met. She immediately turned her head and buried her face in her hands.
"What's happening to you?" Latrice laughed at the girl, taking note of her red ears. She looks at the direction the latter girl was looking at and grinned teasingly. She patted Emma's hand to direct her attention to the tall woman who was staring at their member.
Bada was still staring at (Y/N) with a smirk on her face. She chuckled lowly when she saw how the girl became flustered under her gaze.
"Cute," she commented before taking a seat. Mentally forming a plan to make herself acquainted with the girl after the camera's stop rolling for the day.
"What did you say?" Tatter asked when her leader muttered something inaudible.
"Nothing. Dont worry about it." Bada patted the blonde's head. Tatter was confused at the giddy mood her leader was in but ultimately dropped it for the time being.
Back with Jam Republic, Latrice and Emma share an amused look on their faces as they watch (Y/N) fan her face.
"What?" The girl asked, knowing full well what it is about.
"Nothing," they replied simultaneously. She narrowed her eyes at them and pouted her lips.
"Stop teasing her guys," Kirsten commented. "Let her focus on her stretching. Otherwise, she might focus all her attention on a certain blue team member." The rest of the team burst out laughing. (Y/N) flushed even more as she glared at Kirsten. The leader looked back at her with an innocent smile and fluttering eyes in faux innocence in response.
"Whatever," she muttered before standing tall to prepare herself to position herself into an arabesque.
"Still can't get over how flexible you are," Emma commented. Watching her effortlessly pull the move.
(Y/N) hummed in response before inhaling, feeling the deep stretch on her core, back, and legs. She always loved the feeling of deep stretches. It's like letting your breathe after a long day. She held the pose for as long as she could before she exhaled and released her leg.
"Woah, she's so flexible," Redy stated as she watched the girl pull the move. Harimu and her had been observing her for quite a while now. Lia, their leader, watched them in amusement before glancing at who they're looking at.
"Hey, stop that and focus on the mission," she scolded them.
It wasn't long before Kang Daniel, the host of the season, welcomed them back and introduced the rules of the mission. (Y/N) bounced her feet in anticipation and wiggled her shoulders.
Mind and body ready for the fight that's about to begin.

If Byler isn't endgame, then why…
1. Why do they consistently emphasize the unique nature of Will and Mike's friendship within the party? Why highlight their deep bond and illustrate their special connection?
2. Why does Mike gaze at Will with expressions of fondness, affection, admiration, and longing? Not to mention the times he seemingly focuses on Will's lips…
3. Why do they exhibit strange behavior around each other in s4? If they're merely friends, why the nervousness and awkwardness? Their dynamic sharply contrasts with the rest of the party.
4. Why does Mike feel compelled to insist that "they're just friends" to Will if it's an obvious fact? Could it be that Mike senses something more in their relationship?
5. Why are some of their scenes so romantically coded? If you consider it typical best-friend behavior, try swapping Mike with, say, Dustin or Lucas. Byler's scenes, particularly in seasons 2 & 4, are remarkably moving and heart-felt.
6. Why do they share intimate moments they wouldn't with other friends? And say things that sound rather romantic, like "Crazy together," "Hawkins hasn't been the same without you," "I felt like I lost you," "You're the heart"…
7. Why are some of their scenes so intimate that when interrupted by other characters, Will and Mike look as if they were caught doing something "inappropriate"?
8. Why do many of their scenes include "tender, emotional music playing," reminiscent of scenes with other ST couples?
9. Why are Will and Mike consistently paired up and paralleled with other canon couples? And sometimes with gay characters from other films/shows? I recommend checking out this thread as well.
10. Why do Netflix and the ST cast & crew talk about Byler so extensively? Here's a great thread with all their mentions.
11. Why are there numerous queer references surrounding Mike and his relationship with Will? If unclear, you can check out this channel.
12. Why does it seem like Mike and El's romantic relationship is reaching its logical end? If they were intended to be endgame, why did Mike struggle to say he loved her until he felt forced to? And why didn't we get a passionate Mileven scene after his "love confession"?
13. Why was Will present in almost all Mileven scenes in s4? And why was he the one attempting to piece together the broken elements of Mike and El's relationship?
14. Why make Will fall in love with Mike (canonically!) and illustrate the depth of his love for Mike, only to reveal that Will's feelings are unrequited? This character has already endured so much. In the context of a fictional story, it makes sense for such a good character to have a well-deserved happy ending (including being with Mike).
15. And finally: why invest so much in the beginning, highlighting the unique bond between Will and Mike, creating tension with romantic undertones, only to leave it unresolved and without the exploration it seemed to promise?
I want to clarify that I'm not claiming Byler is a definite endgame. I'm fully aware of the unpredictability of ST. However, it seems like a narrative gap if Will and Mike's relationship doesn't find its logical conclusion, which, in my view, is them being romantically together.

More Twitter nonsense.
"Rand has no connection with Tam in the show."
"Rand's relationship with Tam is so central to his character and his development that he feels like a different character without it."
Like...what? It's not missing we just didn't get as much of it as we would've liked. And how is he an entirely different character than book Rand? I hate this idea by the fandom that Rand is an entirely different character than he is in the books cause they didn't include this one specific thing. Rand is probably one of the closest adapted of the EF5 imo
rand's relationship with tam in the books is just a few scenes in book 1, the very occasional thought in books 2-11, and a few scenes in books 12-14. it's not that much! i remember spending much of my readthrough going "okay the rand-tam relationship is sweet but why does it get THIS much love in the fandom? it's barely been in the story at all after the first book?" their relationship is significant to rand's character arc only in books 1, 4, and 12, and even then, only book 1 has it as a book-long theme whereas it just comes up briefly in 4 and 12, but in 12 its brief relevance happens to be as part of rand's biggest turning point in the series, which makes people remember the relationship as being a lot more significant to his overall story than it actually is imo.
if you take all that and adjust it proportionally for the 4 million words:64 hours book:show ratio, then yeah, that's not going to work out to be all that much screentime. the show has and will continue to fit in what they can for that relationship, but it has rightfully deemed rand's relationships with his fellow primary characters as more important to the overall story than his relationship with tam, who is a secondary or tertiary character. and that's the case in the books too; i'm fond of the rand-tam relationship but it 100% is overhyped and isn't nearly as big a part of the story as people think it is.
plus, the thing that's "central" to rand's character arc is the idea that his upbringing and his roots in the two rivers have shaped him into a good, humble man who can succeed where LTT and his arrogance failed. in the books, the rand-tam relationship is one of the vehicles for that, but it's that broader idea that's important rather than the specific relationship. all the show has done is shift the focus to use the EF5 relationships as the vehicle for the very same idea, since the EF5 relationships are a much larger and more constant presence throughout the story than the rand-tam relationship. it was a good narrative choice for a time-constrained medium that must tell the story as concisely and efficiently as possible (the rand-tam relationship only serves this 1 theme & function, but the EF5 relationships serve many themes & functions and serve multiple main protagonists' arcs instead of only rand's, so you get more bang for your buck with them, so to speak). but a lot of book fans really struggle with the idea that the show can and does convey the same themes and emotional beats using different scenes/characters/relationships/etc, and so many Show Complaints stem from that inability to see the forest for the trees.
(also! it's very easy to "shortcut" parent-child relationships because the audience has a prebaked assumption of how deep such a relationship is and we thus don't need to spend much screentime showing its depth. for example, rand and tam had only a couple scenes in s1, but my show-only mom was very emotional when tam asked about rand in nynaeve's test in s2! i don't doubt that if the TGS scene were to make it into a later season, it would hit very hard for her regardless of how much time was spent on that relationship in prior seasons.)

hi lets show some love for our mutuals. tag your favorite mutuals and tell them why you love them
Oh, anon <3. I so very love that you're spreading this loveliness around, because I ALSO love talking about dear mutuals so LET'S GOOOOO:
@ella-doe - My WIFEY <3. Arguably the #1 Stiddies Fan, and ASSUREDLY the #1 Daddy Jenki-(GETS SHOT). Talking to her is always such a delight; she's so lovely and supportive. Started from the bottom (occasionally screaming over something in DM's), now we're here <3 (married like 4 or 5 times over at this point idk).
@blakbonnet - MY PARTNER IN CLOWN CRIMES 🤡. Any time ANYTHING clown-specific occurs, Meow is like the first person I think of hsdjksds. And I think the feeling is mutual; we both have matching rainbow wigs at this point 🤡🤡🤡. Can't wait to start the clownery right back up after season 2 airs lmao like ALRIGHT, SEASON 3 TRAILER???? 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@dickfuckk - Josh and I were having a time and a half when some footage of Taika in his S2 Ed getup dropped lmao. Like we Saw God for a split second there. So he understands me on like a fundamental and deep level. He ALSO has saved my life numerous times when it comes to panels, or any other sort of cast/crew-related video. Had it not been for his sacrifices and battles against Pop[redacted] lmao, I would've missed MANY a panel.
@bizarrelittlemew - Talented beyond belief, like holy SHIT. Makes immaculate gif sets (DJenks even reblogged one so like, 🎵can I make it anymore obvviousss🎵), and is also an INSANE writer. Need y'all to know that Keep Your 'Lectric Eye On Me, Babe is in my regular rotation, but I'm just always so SO astounded by everything she makes.
@snake-snack-stede - Regularly makes me laugh OUT LOUD with her memes and commentary. Like, if ever I come across a post with her name on it, I know there's like a 100000000% chance it will make me release some sort of "bAHAAAAA." The wheezes I've whoozed,,, So, she's always very much a welcome presence on my dash.
@sherlockig - If EVER you need a good screen grab/edit of OFMD, Alexz is 10000% your best bet. Has probably captured and edited every inch of the show, which is perfect for the times where you want to see a specific moment and cry/throw up/pass out over it being so wonderfully frozen.
@stedebonnets - The sweetest, loveliest darling of a human being I ever did know. Is always SO wonderfully supportive, and just radiates warmth and niceties. Also makes IMMACULATE gifs; inspired me to turn up the Coloring Heat on a lot of my own, really! And I also just learned that the first OFMD thing I ever reblogged was actually one of her sets, so she's VERY IMPORTANT TO ME SHDJKLS <3
@xoxoemynn - Speaking of understanding me on a deep and fundamental level lmao, EM UNDERSTANDS ME ON A DEEP AND FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL SHDKJS. We keep cracking each other up because like, we'll share the most random opinion ever, only for us to realize we align EXACTLY. she makes me feel Seen, okay. she makes me feel UNDERSTOOD SHDJKSL. Also, her writing is so so lovely, and her presence is even lovelier <3
@forpiratereasons - Produces some of my favorite writing in the entire fandom. I am so SO fond of so many of her stories, and regularly re-visit a lot of them. Insane to me that we regularly cross paths now, because I remember seeing her works before I was officially in the fandom. AND NOW SHE REBLOGS MY SETS??? AND I CAN ALSO SCREAM DIRECTLY @ HER???? #BLESSED HSDJKLS
@not-nervous-jester - And SPEAKING of favorite writing, darling Jams wrote one of my favorites aka Somewhere in the Water. YES, I bring this up a lot, but LISTEN LMAO, I NEED THEM TO KNOW 🔪. I NEED THEM TO UNDERSTAND HOW LOVELY IT IS/THEY ARE 🔪🔪❤️❤️ HSKDJS. And aside from their lovely writing, they also Hear Me Out and hype up my silly goofy screaming fits, which is ALWAYS appreciated <3
@skysofrey - AN ABSOLUTE RAY OF SUNSHINE. I see those 💛💛💛 in the tags or on a post, and just immediately feel so much sunnier myself. Just so so sweet and lovely, and just like Jams, ALSO furthers my hollering/analysis/breakdowns PFFFF. A Hypeman (gn) for the Screams™
@crueley - Yet another person who just Gets my Taika breakdowns, and has also been the DIRECT CAUSE OF MANY SHDKLSKD. Like sometimes I'll just wander into their gif tag, and lol oh no BOOM I've suddenly spiraled down into the abyss. But I can't even be mad about it because we bonded over Mostin Posts, and have been crashing downwards ever since <3 PFFF
@awkward-fallen-angel - Extremely fond of Heather, because he was one of the first people to ever try and talk to me when I first got into the fandom! It's always very daunting wandering into a fandom space, especially after the fact/after things have already dropped. So, she made me feel welcomed/included, and allowed me to find my footing a bit faster as a result. And even though he's busier with life, I still always think about her! Like, that one picture from last October-ish where it was all the spooky mutuals around the cafeteria table? STILL THE MOOD <3
@blackbeardskneebrace - Miles' art drives me bonkers bananas in the best way possible. They always capture the likeness of the characters SO freaking well, and have posted so many creative pieces that my mind gets boggled on the regular. Also, my go-to for FORGS,,, I really love froggies as well, so seeing Little Guys and subsequent facts about them on my dash is SUCH a delight.
@darkinerry - Regularly decks me upside the head with Taika footage I've never seen before, and I cannot express how happy that makes me LMAO. Like, I'll just be minding my business, and suddenly I'll be steaming in a Jodi-shaped crater in the ground because a Taika Gym Set or something equivalent from Marlena has slammed my sorry self through sheets of bedrock idk </3.
@adickaboutspoons - Writes the most poetic, and I mean, THE most poetic tags. I regularly get exposed to just lovely MASTERPIECES of thoughts, and it's like reading a beautiful fanfiction at the bottom of a gif set. Also, regularly backs Stede up, which is always appreciated because I'm holding him so tenderly in my hands at all times. So she GETS IT <3
@aha-my-villainous-thoughts - Creates some of the most striking art EVER. I've said this before, and I'll say it again; the usage of COLOR knocks my socks clean-off. like lol they're gone where did they go idk i am SOCKLESS OVER SUCH LUMINESCENCE. Every piece seems to GLOW, and it's just an absolute marvel to stumble across each and every time. I'm just in a constant state of being blown away, and LOSING MY SOCKS SHDJKLS <3
#Answered#Anons#OFMD#GASPS FOR AIR#worth it lmao#I will forever write essays on the kind and talented souls around here#It just makes me so so happy to be here#And makes me so so happy to be here with so many LOVELY people

I had this draft for the 8 shows to get to know me meme that no one tagged me in, but then @batri-jopa tagged me for this other meme, so I'm doiing them as a mash-up.
10 comfort shows -
- that tell you more than you wanted to know about me. reasons below the cut, but the tl;dr is:
The Terror
Garrow's Law
Ripper Street
The X Files
Utopia
Interview with the Vampire
(BBC) Ghosts
Futurama
Avatar: the Last Airbender
Detectorists
Honourable mentions: Andor (will probably make the list once season 2 is out, but my trust of Disney Star Wars is *so* thin, I can't commit until then, no matter how excellent season 1 is); The Great (it's so good. The script is still one of the most astonishing works of art I have ever encountered. But comfort TV? hell no.); see also, Bojack Horseman (objectively great. Not comfort TV); Grease Monkeys (I've got to get hold of season 2, but I'm really fond of its coarseness, wish-fulfilment and sureallism).
Tagging 10 people if they wanna join in, but others feel free to say I tagged you! @stripedroseandsketchpads, @notfromcold, @notabuddhist, @donnaimmaculata, @erinaceina, @boogerwookiesugarcookie, @elwenyere, @kheldara, @bellaroles, @jimtheviking
List 10 comfort shows and then tag 10 people
The Terror: Like Ripper Street below, I feel this show deep in my bones and think I must be actually insane when I try to explain to people what I like about it (watching it literally made my husband's depression worse so I'm not allowed to talk about it. Jk. Sort of. About the last bit anyway). The sheer ridiculousness of that era of exploration has been a firm fave for years and I love how the show weaves horror and hubris together, how it's not a straightforward 'natives get vengeance on colonisers' story, but the colonisers ruin it for everyone, poison life for Silna, too (all without any threat of sexual violence towards her CAN YOU BELIEVE IT). I love all the attempts to impose 'civilisation' on the life the men try to live as they come to realise how doomed they are, how key the trappings of their life become - objects as tethers and talismans. I love how utterly futile it all is. How much they all care, and the audience cares despite that. Self-destruction and salvation all jumbled up together. Two full crews go into the ice and die. The end. They do everything they can not to die and it happens anyway, it's the ultimate 'the love was there and it didn't change anything'. And no one learns anything. Perfect TV.
Garrow's Law: Sometimes I do want my historical drama to be wish fulfillment actually, and this is the actual og fave. No, most of the cases weren't actually Garrow's, yes, it's a fluffy liberal take on things that played out in a more complex way, but the cast is so good, and Garrow is such a likeable guy, but then you see his flaws emerge in such a gentle way through the four series, and it really does case-of-the-week with characterisation so well, and it's got that amazing British TV character actor cast where there's always someone in the background you know, and the building romance between Garrow and Sarah, and the real repercussions of it for her are handled so sensitively, augh the culmination of the series with their own personal legal cases is so good.
Ripper Street: in my head this show was so much more than the sum of its parts. Season 1 was on the surface a fun BBC historical romp. Season 2 I had to watch through gritted teeth because Susan's situation quicked me out too much, among other reasons. Season 3 leaned into the more sinister side of the protagonist and came through as something weirder and darker, a vein which ran through Seasons 4 and 5, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I live for my alternative reading of the migration stories and nightmarish flipsides of people that we get running through the background of seasons [3/]4/5, but uh. the show's tumblr fandom is not a place for me. Reid is actually monstrous, and I like him despite/because of that. Oh man, I have so many feelings about this show, and I'd love to do a rewatch and blog about all my crazy theories but I'd probably have to go into witness protection afterwards. But rest assured, it isn't a show about the Ripper, and it's all the better for that. It does class and trauma so well, it also captures all the optimistic curiosity and the utter hypocrisy and hubris of the Victorian era so well.
The X Files: I mean, it's a formative influence, innit. Seasons 1 and 3 are the best, a lot of the 'classic' favourites are episodes I actually really disliked, even though the early seasons are the best a lot of my favourite episodes are from later...the beauty of TXF is that there's so much of it you can hold contradictory opinions about what makes it good, though, and my theory is that it's at its best when it's early and still being allowed to take its course, where even the mytharc hasn't tied itself in knots yet so every episode is of a higher standard, and then later, when the actors have wrested control of their characters from CC enough to play them like they want, but the good episodes are really just MotW ones because the mytharc has vanished up it's own fundament and I've lost track of whose turn it is to have a near-death season arc. Not technically the TV series, but still, Fight the Future is just so much of its time, watching it is like having a warm bubble bath in childhood nostalgia. Even the later series have things to recommend them - I always enjoy Doggett much more than I'm expecting to, and it's about bloody time Scully got a decent female friend in the form of Reyes...I haven't watched seasons 10 onwards though, I don't feel I'm missing much. Five fave episodes: 1.13 Beyond the Sea, 3.4 Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, 5.4 Detour, 7.17 all things, 6.19 The Unnatural.
Utopia: Tragically incomplete at 2 seasons, but what a pair of seasons they are. Brutal and uncompromising, horrible and compelling, but also frequently hilarious and full of the warmest, most fascinating characters who are all on a journey to Getting Much Worse. It's not something I've been able to watch since the pandemic *weak laugh* but I know when I do go back to it it will remain painfully prescient and uncomfortable. The longing for a 'balancing' and a righting of a historic wrong that drives it, and the desperate failures between people who are really just searching for love and don't know how to give/receive it...ugh so good.
Interview with the Vampire: Just rewatched season 1 and I'm just. No notes, five stars. The way Louis think he's a narrator in control, the way Daniel knows such a thing isn't possible, the way Louis does let himself get drawn on things, the way Armand sees the danger in this but it's not in his control any longer. Memory is a monster. The Odyssey of recollection. Fucking won my heart with those lines alone.
(BBC) Ghosts: Ok, I will say that I think the last season was actually a bit weak. They were in a hurry to finish, and they got away with wringing the feels from the important bits (The Captain's death was perfect and I will say this over and over again), but it felt like it was in a rush to come up with scenarios that would force admissions like The Captain's, whereas the show is at its best meandering around in a buffonish way that suddenly results in a Big Oof moment. Robin's arc in season 4 was a great example of this, as was Mary's. But basically it's still simply perfect comfort TV: silly but not malicious, unfair but kind to its characters. I'm going to miss them all so much, but I'm also going to rewatch so much.
Futurama: bit basic maybe, but I have watched it so often and I can watch any episode (ok, except for Jurassic Bark) again and again and again. I don't think I've binged any TV show so often with so many different people. Not sure how I feel about the immanent revival, but this has always been my favourite Matt Groening product, so fingers crossed.
Avatar: the Last Airbender: without getting into like...fandom discourse, man, this is a really perfect show. No need to say 'ooh it gets good after--!', it's just good from the beginning. A really well fleshed-out world, great characters who grow through the series, enough self awareness that the 'clip-show' episode Ember Island Players actually builds on the characterisation and addresses ambiguities in its own plots. A show that sticks to its principles and doesn't fudge the ending and also consistently looks gorgeous.
Detectorists: I had to put it on because no other show has literally made me fall off my chair laughing. Are the main characters useless? Yes. Is it often perplexing that the women in their lives spend any time with them? Yes. But that's forgiveable, because it's ultimately so kind to its beleagured characters and things work out despite their stupid decisions. Also it just captures rural English eccentricity so well. They're all such freaks (affectionate).
#comfort tv#look of course about half of these are bbc shows#of course that's comfort tv!#*ok not bbc but uk terrestrial tv anyway#memes#tv#ughhh i wanna rewatch so many of these but not until the house move...

I think I may make a side blog just for Helluva Boss
Now it’s not really gonna be so much of a critical blog (even if I may critique things here and there) but idk I still have a very love and hate relationship with said series. It’s actually more of a blog of an AU of how I would change things. Like redesigns and such.
I don’t fully hate it since I had fond memories with season 1 but idk something about season 2 misses the mark for me… the last episode was so bad that even my friends who love the series thought it was too much. (Actually like me, they also can’t stand season 2)
Also, I don’t wanna discuss these spindlehorse allegations. I feel like it’s not fair to jump the gun since there’s more sides to the stories and I keep seeing screenshots that provide no context at all. And just talking about that is super exhausting… like sorry guys, I rather not have people bother me about that.
However, I still like the characters I just wish season 2 didn’t assassinate them. I actually love Blitzo being an cynical asshole and he’s a favorite of mine BUT ahhhh I would prefer if he faced consequences. I’m very mixed with Stolas, I enjoyed him through season 1 since idk the morally grey with him was entertaining but eh…. The woobification happened and once again being neglectful to Octavia :””) so yeah but I had ideas I have in mind.
I think the issue with Helluva Boss, is that it should had stayed as an episodic edgy adult cartoon than forcing it to have a plot driven story. A thing with cynical characters CAN work but you should let them face consequences when they do dumb stuff. It’s kind of why I enjoy MTV’s downtown so much since that show too has cynical characters but don’t always get things easily handed to them. But now it’s like giving me the odd feeling I had with Aggrektsuko and SVTFOE when they force a ship to show that it ruins all logic 🙃🙃🙃
That being said, I have issues with the fandom and hatedom.
I really don’t wanna engage to much with the fandom since holy shit there’s so much toxic positivity there, i remember people getting angry at me for disliking Loona. (When I had my reasons) and I had to give my reasons why the show had a misogyny problem with women. Because god forbid a fan can’t have different opinions.🙄🙄🙄 I am nervous to share self ship art of my oc with Bl*tzo since oooof st*l*tz shippers may take it personal. (Even tho I plan to have blitzo and Stolas be in a friends with benefits relationship since I think that makes more sense with them )
And while I don’t really 100% believe these allegations since I think there’s missing truth, I hate how these Stans would attack Erin and Ken like guys please fucking stop. We need to have innocent until guilty, not just with Viv okay? I’ve detached myself from Viv since I’m not fond of her childish behavior but I don’t wanna jump the gun with her still. (Please don’t bother me about this I’m aware of Ken and I do hope they recover, it’s just that’s so exhausting )
As for the hatedom and antis… oooof I’ve seen antis go too far and would harass Viv and her writers and such because of a bad episode and all of that. Don’t get me wrong, I know Viv enables bad fandom behavior and even shit talks people that review her stuff and I am against that… but sometimes these haters stoop to her level. Hell one “critical” blog even went on how Viv blocked them and was all “suspicious I think not” well when you constantly got o their pages to harass her and her team, well no shit they’ll block you. And idk this person just has a very unhealthy extreme hate for Viv…. They watch her every move and look way too deep into things…
It’s just idk I hate because these people get lumped with criticals. Some critic blogs are fine I just hate they’re now lumped with antis that go too far.
Also maybe it’s me, I’m planning to create an Indie project soon and I just rather make a side blog for this stuff. I think it may be unprofessional for someone like me to dwelve into the hatedom and fandom and it’s better to surround yourself with small friends you trust.
So yeah don’t expect me going anti or Stan, it may be a bit critical but it’s also me doing fun AUs and enjoying things I do like about the show. The more you stay in toxic positivity or toxic negativity, it’s gonna eat you alive.
I’ve been encouraged by friends to just do my own thing you know :3
So I just rather be the casual fan who just forms her opinions on things so I don’t have to interact with fandom as a whole :””)
#helluva boss critical#vivziepop critical#yeah I think I’m general I’m just not gonna go to the anti bandwagon#and I sure as hell don’t wanna surround myself with stans#besides I got my own original project I’m wanting to make into a webtoon#so I can’t really dwelve too much drama

nina and 2, 7, 14, and 15 for the ask game! :D
Yee my girl!! So many thoughts
2. When did you start liking them?
I watched House of Anubis on youtube for season 1 (and was happy to find out there'd soon be a season 2 premiere) back in 2011/2012. I rewatched it (s1/s2) last year (and again this year). I can't exactly remember the exact time, I always liked her, but from a more recent stand point, I think my more recent fondness is probably based on how kind and compassionate she is. She immediately took off her school jacket to give to Sarah on the bench outside Anubis house. She's kind, clever, and brave (like Barbie!).
7. A quote you remember of her's
Besides all the funny ones "Hi, I'm Nina, I'm from America!""stop playing with your milk!" "Nothing that a year of counseling won't fix." Any of her more deep quotes or serious quotes "Will you free my friends and my family?" "I trust you." I might edit part of the amswer later because right now the only thing on my mind is the funnier things. Also when she gets her and Fabian out of detention with her French.
14. Favorite storyline
Back in the day, I probably would have said season 2 was my favorite, but now I love both s1 and s2 equally. I really enjoy her relationship with Sarah and her growth into the Chosen One throughout season 1. The search for the cup is iconic. So is the Mask. I enjoyed some of the whole house shenanigans as well (the cameras in s1, keeping Victor up all night in s2 (which was Sibuna business that ended up involving the whole house), confronting Jerome!! About the gem!!!). How she wrote the Mysteries of Anubis and threw some shade on Victor. When she insists on going back into the attic (she knows how to pick locks!!!) despite fear and unease because she wants to be certain about whether she saw someone and out of possible concern about the possibility of Joy actually being up there. "I need it because I'm going back up there tonight. I need to know." "Know what?" "If I saw something up there."
Also any Fabina plotline that is happy because those two are cute and love each other and fit so well together (if they had better communication skills especially!!).
15 least favorite storyline?
Honestly? Whatever mini subplot they had going on between her and Fabian in season 2. It was extremely obvious that they both still had feelings for one another, and even they managed that, but they always got in the way of themselves. Nina choosing to do the web task without Fabian, largely out of anger (but also urgency) was reckless.
Also her leaving in s3. While I appreciate and understand and know it is not my place now nor was it then to be mad about the fact Nathalia Ramos decided to leave the show in order to continue her education, I think they could have chosen a better route out than "the Osirian and the Chosen One can't be together..." when it is the Osirian's job to protect the Chosen One. Could this fact be proven by Rufus growing with Sarah and them being the Osirian and Chosen One respectively and him turning out the way he did? Maybe. But Rufus was power hungry, and seemingly had been that way for most of his adolescent/adult life. I think that wasn't too thought out, perhaps she just decided to stay behind for her Gran. This is less of a Nina problem and more of a behind the scenes cause and effect though.
Thank you!!!
#the mutuals tm#nina martin#asks#house of anubis#aaaah I promise I love Nina (and Fabian) for more than just Fabina

Your metas are phenomenal! I realized while reading your take on Barchie that even though I'm with you on shipping Brucas and Bughead, Barchie is for me a worse ship than Leyton. Part of that is no doubt due to the fact that for all of OTH's problems, it's imo not nearly as awful as Riverdale quickly becomes after the first one or two seasons. It's mostly just that there's a lot more to leyton imo. Like you and I might not like them or buy that they have true love or even very good chemistry, but I can at least see why others view their story and see them as in love. But with Barchie it's like you didn't even sell me on them being genuinely close friends let alone in love. As you point out their entire relationship seems rooted in childhood memories, not in any sort of present day friendship and connection. And then they go from literally almost never even having conversations and both of them having years-long relationships with other people they love to being 'friends with benefits' and even then there's no real feeling or substance or connection or anything, you know? I'm not phrasing this well, but I just feel like Barchie is so hollow and empty. I may not personally like Leyton, but I can objectively acknowledge that at least there's something there---Barchie is just kind of total nothingness that the writers 75% into the series started pretending was meaningful. And again your metas are such a gift!
Thanks! I genuinely don't think they're anything special, but I like answering asks LOL
Yeah. My feelings about Leyton vs Barchie are complicated for that reason. The love story between Lucas and Peyton bothers me because in my opinion, there's plenty wrong with it from the beginning. It's based in something that feels very shallow with the narrative claiming there's this deep, intense connection rather than showing it to us. Then when Lucas and Peyton finally do decide to get together, it's behind Brooke's back. Their affair leaves Brooke with a lot of trust issues. And then, Peyton and Lucas have the audacity to stab her in the back a second time, after they've spent the past season and a half claiming they'll never hurt her again and that the circumstances are now different. That being said, the fact Lucas and Peyton's feelings are established as a mutual thing from the very beginning means that when late season 3 and season 4 heads back to LP, it's rooted in something believable. If nothing else, I can appreciate that One Tree Hill properly showed that just because your intentions are supposedly good and what you have is "true love always," that doesn't mean other people's feelings don't matter. A lot of time was devoted to Brooke eventually finding her own "true love" and working past the double betrayal of Lucas and Peyton.
In the case of Barchie, 100%. It really feels like in the beginning, the plan was to move away from the Betty/Archie/Veronica love triangle that had dominated the comics for decades and explore other things. Betty was allowed to want things other than Archie and to have a real, genuine relationship with Jughead where she was both happy and fulfilled without feeling as though she'd missed out on not winning the golden cock, so to speak. Betty and Veronica formed a strong friendship based on more than competing over the same guy. Even Archie seemed to have a strong preference for Veronica over Betty in spite of occasional moments like "a part of me always thought.." at the end of season 1. The writers set up their eventual relationship and cheating in an extremely poorly done way. They even used flashbacks during the big Origin of Love scene, but it only flashed back to the first two episodes of Riverdale and their season 2 kiss because that was the beginning and end of their BA build up. And absolutely! I didn't detect any true fondness or interest in the Betty/Archie relationship during seasons 5 and 6. It felt like they were checking off things on a list. Like, they have to live together, get engaged at some point, become official, say I love you, blah blah blah. It's like, they decided to fulfill every BA's dream and then literally blew up the universe. I honestly think the writers hated their jobs by the end and resented their fans for still caring about the characters and relationships established years before. Still, it's upsetting that Jughead and Veronica weren't allowed to voice the fact that they were hurt over Betty and Archie betraying them. Unlike on One Tree Hill, it was as though they walked on eggshells and went out of their way to ensure nothing was the slightest bit awkward for Betty and Archie (but mostly Archie because Betty at least emotionally suffered for years over what she'd done while Archie didn't seem to have the slightest bit of shame or guilt). As much as I hated seeing Brooke heartbroken and disliked the effect it had on her friendship with Peyton, that's more honest to me that both Veronica and Jughead never properly acknowledging that Archie and Betty had been in the wrong and needed to make amends.

10 + 22 (YR asks)
10. Which of Wille’s outfits is your favorite?
Hmm. I was initially going to say, any time he wears his dorky striped scarf. It’s too iconic! But I recently saw someone talking about that scene in… 1.1 is it? 1.2? Where he’s wearing a red button-up over a t-shirt. And they suggested that it was him trying to copy Simon’s style, in an awkward rich kid way.
Imitating your crush’s fashion sense feels like PEAK queer teen behavior, and I love that outfit for that.
22. What’s your favorite song in the soundtrack?
So utter blasphemy on my part, but I don’t know if I listen to the soundtrack really outside of the show. I will tell a story though, which is that I have a deep fondness for “Revolution” because I liked it even before I saw YR. I follow the Swedish embassy and a few Swedish newspapers on social media, and one was doing song recommendations/playlists, and Revolution was one of the ones that came up, like… years ago. So I’ve been listening to it for a while!
I will also share another music opinion, and that is that I think Omar’s singing-as-Simon got better between seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 he was still good, but he sounded very much like a pop star in a way that sort of broke the illusion for me as a Former Choir Kid. In season 2 he blended his voice with everyone better (or maybe it was a sound mixing thing or similar) and I really liked the song he composed!

The Righteous Gemstones is what happened if Jim Bakker had actually loved Tammy Faye and not just use her as a tool to gain more money and power.
This is all based on having binged season 1 in a single day, FYI. I have seen nothing of season 2.
Eli LOVES Amiee-Leigh. LOVES. And, my god, John Goodman, the fact you do not have an emmy for this show (and several other shows) is a goddamn crime.
But. Seriously, Danny McBride wrote the an ACTUAL love story between Eli and Amiee-Leigh that is what Tammy Faye Baker DESERVED to have in her own marriage (Jim Bakker can fucking choke).
But even more than that, Danny McBride has said he wasn't writing a show about making fun of religion; he was writing a show about looking at hypocricy, and jesus fuck me, my dude, you fucking nailed it. Aimee-Leigh and Eli are true believers. Kelvin is a true believer. They are surrounded by somewhat-true (I think Jesse means well) to just full-on fucking with you (Judy, my queen) believers. But also, it's not so easily black and white. Jesse grew up the first son of a prominent religious family with fame and money. Judy grew up the first daughter of the same family. And that's a fucking hard difference to experience. Meanwhile, Kelvin shows up later--after the money's made--and is (in my opinion) absolutely coded the queerest southern gospel queer to ever queer but who has not ever activated the queer. And I'm not even sure at the end of season one that he realizes he WANTS to activate the queer. But there's a YEARNING between him and Keefe that fucking kneecaps me for its perfection of queer yearning in conservative religious circles.
I digress.
Look, I grew up an hour south of Branson, Missouri, okay. Uncle Baby Billy telling Aimee-Leigh they were gonna end their tour in Branson made me laugh my fucking ass off. Because Uncle Baby Billy and Aimee-Leigh are what would have happened if Donny and Marie Osmond were fucking snakes.
(Sidenote: I absolutely think that the mainstream LDS is a fucking cult. I think several mainstream versions of Christianity (Assemblies of God) put cult tactics to work to scare people into staying, but if I gotta choose which one to stop before the other, I'm going after the LDS because it IS a cult.)
But the other thing about Aimee-Leigh and Baby Billy is that Aimee-Leigh isn't trying to trick people into giving her money via charisma whereas Baby Billy absolutely IS. He uses his own sister--a true believer--to try and make it happen. And Aimee-Leigh, bless Danny McBride and the writing staff--have her light him up like a July 4th display.
It's fucking fascinating to me that John Goodman has repeatedly played a loving, caring, understanding, respectful, and ADORING husband to women who hold their own power. He did it on Roseanne. He did it on Alpha House. He's doing it on Righteous Gemstones.
And Aimee-Leigh's pre-pilot death doesn't feel gross or reductive. It feels like a genuine grief that's been simmering in a family for a bit. She's remembered with deep fondness and respect. She's noted as being the one to teach the most important lessons (don't turn your back on family) while also being shown--in flashback--of having boundaries (Baby Billy lies to her to try and get her to tour; she finds out and shuts down the tour). Aimee-Leigh is an angel in the eyes of the family because she was a good fucking person. But she's also no longer there to stop them from doing stupid shit.
Why does Baby Billy get to take over the new satellite church in the former Sears in the mall (a fucking hilarious repeated joke I would like to frame, btw). Because Eli is doing what he THINKS Aimee-Leigh would have wanted him to do; give her brother another chance. But we also see in the flashback episode that 1) Eli adores Aimee-Leigh and will do whatever she thinks is best for herself (fucking good) and 2) That Aimee-Leigh utterly understands that Baby Billy is a fucking asshole. No fucking way would Aimee-Leigh, were she alive to have an opinion, agree to give Baby Billy any power within their megachurch structure. Send him cash? Probably. Give him power? Absolutely not.
And that's one of the great things about The Righteous Gemstones. It's not a cut and dried joke about religion or southerners or southern families or any of that shit. It's an in-depth and respectful view of a family. Aimee-Leigh would NEVER want Baby Billy to have power in the church because he's proven he's not in it for the right reasons. But Eli, grieving widower of an adored wife who also adored him, he wants to make space for the black sheep of the family because Aimee-Leigh said, "You should never turn your back on family," and when you're dealing with the memory of someone, it's common to wipe out the common sense caveat of "Unless it's that butthole brother of mine who lied to me."
Beyond that, I could sit here and name so many fucking moments in season one that showed depth and thought from the characters. The one I'll concentrate on for the moment is Jesse's Easter Sunday sermon that focuses on what Judas must have been feeling as Jesus rose from the dead.
Contextually, it's a commentary on Jesse lying about not fucking around on his wife and on Gideon, Jesse's oldest son, hiding the fact he blackmailed his own father.
But also, Easter is the sermon that is ALWAYS about forgiveness. That's kind of the whole fucking bag of it. Jesus died to forgive our sins. So, forgiveness is key to being a good Christian. Except that rather and do the usual sermon about "Jesus died for you, so live for him," Jesse steps on that stage and takes a turn that would NOT be welcome in a megachurch. "How did Judas feel? What was it like for Judas to know he'd done what he did?"
Megachurch audiences do NOT want to feel for Judas because megachurch audiences want black and white morality. Jesus was good. Judas was bad.
But, in the world of The Righteous Gemstones, a hypocrite fuck of a megachurch preacher can step up to the pulpit and give a complicated and interesting sermon on forgiving Judas. Because he is genuinely realizing and questioning why he thinks he's untouchable.
That's why the show is so fucking good. It doesn't mock faith or religion. It jams pointy things against hypocrites and shows that either they learn and grow, or they refuse to learn and pay the price.
I remind you, at the end of this post, that I'm an atheist. I'm not here to convince anyone to get into religion. But I grew up utterly drowning in exactly this sort of religion The Righteous Gemstones investigates, and I will always, always, ALWAYS put my time and hope behind people who seem to be truly trying to do their best, and that's the story Danny McBride and his team are telling.
Even Baby Billy, the fucking asshole, is doing the best he can. He's just literally the worst goddamn fuckboy in the whole shitty system.

Thoughts on the newest iCarly Revival S2 episode
I’m gonna go right ahead and say that I enjoyed it. Although I am looking for just a tad bit more, the new season’s really settled in to what vibe they’re going for and I absolutely love it! Personally, the ep with Granddad Shay is still the best ep for me so far, but this newest ep isn’t so bad.
Let’s firstly talk about the main plot. I think it was a good nod to the original show to finally talk about Spencer sacrificing his personal life to take care of Carly. The og show gave hints of it, but because Carly and the gang were much younger, they couldn’t really understand Spencer yet. It’s also a nice parallel that Carly in Season 2 is as old as Spencer in Season 2 of the old show. I absolutely adore the sibling relationship between Spencer and Carly. Now that Carly’s finally reached his age, you can see how much she’s beginning to understand what he went through in the past. I hope to see Spencer finally finding the right girl (maybe I’ll make a separate ideas vomit for this?), but regardless more Shay-centric and Spencer-centric episodes in the future please!
Secondly, the subplot. Something interesting I want to talk about was how even if Freddie’s story in the ep was a subplot, it wasn’t random and forgettable. We’re starting to get the developed Freddie from the latter seasons back! It’s too early to say that my theory about Pearl helping Freddie blossom or develop by pulling questions is in place, but it seems to be going in that direction. It was also a nice revelation that Mrs. Benson is attached to Millicent; from what I remember, Mrs. Benson really wanted a daughter so that’s probably why she’s so fond of her. Hope to see more from the Bensons!
Finally (and I know y’all are waiting for this), let’s talk about revival Creddie. I must say… I don’t hate Pearl at all. Sure she’s weird about the banana and other things Millicent and Mrs. Benson mentioned, but she hasn’t done anything unlikable. I absolutely hate it when writers make the pre-endgame love interest interesting and likable but suddenly make them into terrible people (*cough* WES DESERVED BETTER WRITING *cough*). I’d much like a healthy or understandable resolution—see Jake Peralta and Sophia Perez from B99. I am enjoying the slow dive into Creddie as long as it doesn’t drag along too much. I don’t want Carly to get jealous just because of Pearl’s presence in Freddie’s life alone, you feel? I want it to happen gradually and not for that factor alone. She’s definitely A BIT jealous deep down because of that random slap from ep 1 but it’s not serious yet. We have to wait and I AM HERE FOR IT.
Side note, I really enjoyed the subtle references to the old show. Aside from Spencer’s life and love history, I liked how Mrs. Benson mentioned Freddie being a champion fencer. We never got to see the Fencing Bensons be referenced again except for iStill Psycho so it’s nice to hear that Freddie continued with the sport. To add, the minor details were utilized really well. I saw a tweet while I lurked on revival tags and it was interesting how they mentioned Carly and Freddie always sharing popcorn when they watch a show or movie and how Freddie had to turn down Spencer offering popcorn to him and Carly—subtle contrast on Pearl with the banana. One last thing, Carly and Freddie naturally are found to stand and sit really close next to each other. It was quite interesting to see that even if they are next to each other, they are distanced (I kinda have to explain this sometime later, don’t I?).

Ranking of Kalfas and Aghas in MC/K? (You can rank Kalfas and Aghas together or separately, your decision)
Ahhh... Asking only the easiest of questions, are we? Very well... (Again, I should probably add some after the rewatch, I don't remember everyone, blah blah, you know the drill.)
KALFAS 1. Nigar - You must've known she would end up here the second you asked that question. Yes, the writers haven't been kind to her. But trough hell or high water, in good writing and bad, Nigar was never not the smartest person in the room. She maintained some of her spark almost to the very end. Press f in chat for the best girl. 2. Cennet - I am very biased towards characters with very strong personalities, which is why Fatma was the best sultana of blood in my eyes. And Cennet has one hell of a personality. Even when the writing of other characters revolved solely around their relationship to Kösem (Halime was her antagonist, so she became a moustache-twirling villain, etc.), she maintained hers to the very end. It was in fact so strong she was apparently was able to seduce pretty boys like half her age just trough it. A legend, I tell ya. 3. Daye - A solid third place for a solid lady. Nothing but respect for MY chief kalfa. 4. Afife - She's... Likeable. Also has that "tough but fair" thing going on that makes her different enough from Daye to make me mildly intrigued with her character. Not my favourite by any means, but pretty good. 5. Menekşe - Our goth sultana's preppy sidekick isn't, alas, very deep or interesting. But she's ride or die for Halime, and as someone who is also mostly ride or die for Halime, I can't not appreciate that. Besides, at least she has some consistent personality. That's not a given with these girls. 6. Gülşah - She had been in the show for so long and had such a strong, consistent presence that I can't help myself from becoming a little bit fond of her. She's a horrible person, but she would do anything for Mahi's pretty eyes, and can you blame her? Her fall from Mahidevran's good graces was actually kind of sad. That said, for all of my sympathies, she does undeniably suck. 7. Fahriye - In principle, she should be pretty fascinating, going from hating Hürrem for relatively understandable reasons to unconditional loyalty to her. Unfortunately, the show never allows us much insight into her thoughts and feelings, especially during her defection to Hürrem. She is just kinda stuck with her after the assassination attempt. Apparently, she develops some sympathies for Hürrem after hating her guts... Why? And after the defection, she doesn't seem to have much personality at all. What a waste. 8. Fidan - Similar problem, except where Fahriye was kinda interesting as a fighter and Mahidevran's top agent, Fidan is just... Some lady that does what Hürrem tells her, untill Ayşe Hafsa forces her to turn away from Hürrem. She then starts serving Mahidevran, in fact, she becomes her most loyal attendant... For some reason. Also, her friendship with Fatma seems to exist solely for Fatma to have someone to talk to. *yawn* 9. Dudu - If you sucked away everything that made Daye and Afife distinct, you would get Dudu. Even as a big fan of Kösem season 1 I have no opinion of her, which is saying something.
AGHAS 1. Sümbül - I mean, this is kind of a honorary position, isn't it? Sümbül wasn't always the kindest or funniest, and could at times be annoying. But much like Hürrem and Mahi, he stuck for the long haul, and for all of the moments good and bad, he deserves the first place. 2. Bülbül - How did this precious little cinnamon roll end up in the service of the most evil sultana of her era is still a mystery to me. Romantic love is the only explanation. Either way, a middle-aged man has no right to be this adorable. Your honor, I love him. 3. Gül - This was a very close race. He's a lot like Bülbül, but with a bit of a mean streak and the level of devotion that crosses over to asskissing. Still, he's pretty funny, and most of the time a nice person, except where his legendary rivalry with Sümbül is concerned. 4. Mercan - He's also close to the third and second place, and in many ways is hard to compare to the others. Which, I give him credit even just for the novelty; where most prominent eunuchs in the show are loud and effeminate, to suddenly have this silent gigachad stand next to fucking Sümbül... Well, he's nothing if not memorable. His stoic exterior hides a heart that beats for but one thing - his mistress... But I'd better stop before this turns into a fanfic. 5. Kiraz - I'll just say that if the writers needed a small annoying creature following Afife's every step, they could've just given her a dog. 6. Haci - He has two modes: asshole and Kösem's lackey. Needless to say, I don't like either of them. His rivalry with Bülbül is a pale shadow of Sümbül and Gül, mostly consisting of Haci being a dick for no reason and Bülbül being annoyed by it. Which, how dare he be mean to my precious Bülbül?!

While I’m in the “We have nothing to worry about. This is a slow burn and I love slow burns” camp, I do like to analyze and theorize a lot over my favorite TV characters. I find it a lot of fun. Like trying to figure out a puzzle. However, I’ve been a bit frustrated lately, because it feels like they haven’t given much to easily infer. Idk, I’ve had more theories than usual lately, b/c #chenford has just been hard to read. Like what are they really feeling right now? What are they thinking? I suppose we will probably find out soon, I guess. Anyway, I have two theories as to what motivated Tim to ask out Ashley.
1) The first scene with Tim and Jerry in the kit room, I noticed that praise that Tim got from Jerry that seemed sort of paternal. Probably something he lacked from his own father.
Jerry got into Tim’s heart more than most. Heck, we just met him and he got into our hearts too! Tim really enjoyed riding with him. I can imagine he really connected with Jerry on the wounds and experience he’s had. I mean, Tim’s not old, but he’s had a great deal of hard won life experience. A lot I hope we get to learn about soon! I just really felt Tim’s deep connection to Jerry in this.
We don’t know much about Ashley, but we do know her father. Having spent a little time with her, and Jerry, perhaps Tim feels connected to her through his fondness for Jerry. And maybe a little bit of that paternal connection.
I think my next theory might play well into the first. This one came a couple days ago while trying to figure out what the heck Tim’s thoughts were during this episode. (Again, we’ve been left to infer a lot lately. I don’t know if that is just something that is going to build up, or a growing pain error of the show.) Like, I was convinced he was having more introspection in the shop with Jerry than worrying about how to tell him to retire. It had to be deeper than that, or it just isn’t that interesting. Plus, I wanted to know why he would ask out Ashley while he’s so very much feeling it for Lucy.
I’m going to preface my theory with this:
I feel now more than ever, I’m really not sure how long this slow burn will last. It doesn’t really bother me. I love slow burns, but I also want to see the whole journey. Not the “oh we’re together now, happily ever after, end” I want to see at least 1 season of a relationship, really 2, and I still want to see a bit of hardships and bumps and stumbles in it too. I need it for my own personal reason. So I have my desires but that being said, I don’t really like to be negative about the show. I really want to enjoy it, and there is so much I feel like to enjoy. And if I don’t get exactly what I want, I try to look at it in a different perspective. If it gets to the point it’s not enjoyable at all, I’ll be out. But, it seems like it’s not going the Grey’s Anatomy route. 😂 That’s my disclaimer, here.
This ship is more complicated than I’ve seen in a while. I feel like they need to create more distance between the time they were rookie/TO before they get together. I think that’s a level they will need to move over to be there and to let it feel like they both are comfortable and ready for the ENDGAME relationship. There’s a lot of other hang ups they seem to have. One of them is possibly THIS -> it became clear to me after seeing the last two episodes- they are both in different stages in life. I’ve always said age doesn’t matter, and I feel that deeply, but with the babies talk last week, perhaps the introspection he was having was thinking he’s really ready to start settling down again, and I don’t think Lucy is there yet. She’s very career focused. She’s not had as much relationship experience. I love her and will fight for her, but she’s a bit immature in some ways how she handles it (i don’t think she did with Nolan, tho). Plus, she’s still holding onto things with Jackson death. Everyone thought how that scene in A.C.H. was oddly placed. I agree. It didn’t fit with the overall fun feel of the episode. It was really the only serious scene. (I wholeheartedly enjoy it, tho) But, perhaps they placed it there to feed into what was to come in Poetic Justice.
Lucy bringing that up about kids, possibly made Tim think about something he probably hadn’t thought about in a while. Maybe Tim feels like he shouldn’t be wasting any time. And since he has a fondness with Jerry, he sees a possible connection with Ashley. As for how this will be benefit Chenford in the long run: I think it’s just a phase for Tim. We all have momentary freak outs and this is just his. He’s got BIG feelings for Chen, at least that’s what I infer and with the history of Chenford, it plays like a typical slow burn -> endgame ship. I’ve been through many years of TV, so I feel 100% about this. We don’t know what will happen, but I have faith. They like to keep things unexpected, but I think they’ll give us what we want without exactly giving us what we want. There’s that saying, “I never knew I needed this until I got it!”
Update: I am very shippy and a full passionate Chenford here! And I also believe Lucy has feelings for Tim (to what extent she is aware of them, I”m not sure, like I said we are left to infer a lot lately, but hopefully they will show us soon) , she’s just not as ready for THAT relationship as Tim is. I think the show will ultimately take us to the point where they both are at the same place. I don’t know, i don’t really try to worry about ratings, but I’ve been in a couple of Save Campaigns, so I know the importance. The Rookie at this point seems to be increasing in ratings. I could totally see a S5 renewal. I honestly see The Rookie being a 6-7 season show, even a bubble show. Many past bubble shows, have gone that distance. I don’t know what they plan to do with them for the remainder of the season, but there are 22 episodes, plenty of time to get them to that point. But, organically it may take them a little longer. It could still give them season 6 and 7 to be in relationship.
This again is my theory. It’s just what I see. And often times, my theories change. I don’t know what will happen. But, I just try to stay positive. It’s the only way I know how to keep me mentally healthy.

Here, There and Everywhere pt. 2
Part 1!
summary: You tell Peter just how you feel <3
category: fluff!
wc: 946
a/n: I’m so sorry this is up so late! But this is so sweet hopefully the ending you all wanted! Enjoy <3
It felt as the walls were closing in on him. He couldn’t breathe and he desperately needed to run away. Peter knew this was a mistake. Every second passing felt like an eternity. You hadn’t responded and he took that as a sign for the worse. He debated if he should run before you could answer but he figured it would make him more of the loser he had already thought of himself. But the feeling of your hand never leaving his kept him stuck in place. The feeling of the pounding his chest made him feel as if he was being pulled underwater. Dark water. He squeezed his eyes harder while he waited for the response that would change everything.
It was snowing. The first big snow of the season. All of the younger students were overflowing with excitement and you couldn’t help but feel a bit excited yourself for it. The world just seemed to slow down as the snow fell throughout the early evening. It felt as you if finally understood how Peter felt. Everything was just so tranquil. You took time to notice the small details, the way the snow had softly covered the small flowers, the birds sitting in the trees, and how the windows were fogging softly from the bitter cold.
You weren’t surprised when he had appeared. It’s as if he knew when you thought of him. “What’s up Twinkie?” Peter had slid next to where you were sitting and wrapped his arms around you. He always knew exactly how to fluster you just right.
You giggled and wrapped your arms tightly around him. It was Friday, a month exactly from the last Friday Peter had confessed his feelings to you. “What’s on the agenda for tonight Mr. Maximoff? Hopefully an interesting movie this time.” You tease and poke his cheek, laughing once again at his adorable pout.
“Hey! You like the movies I pick don’t be lying to me now!” He suddenly sits up, making sure not to tear his arms from you. “I actually have something a little more special planned for tonight.” He licks his lip, he put a lot of thought into tonight and he wanted to impress you. He had even asked Raven for advice which was shocking to him and her.
“Something special? That sounds amazing Peter.” You glance up to his eyes and beam towards him. He’s one hundred percent sure that you’ve stopped his heart, but he pushes it down. You swiftly get up from his hold and pull him up with his hand, which you don’t let go. “Now where to speedy?”
For once he doesn’t speed off with you, which surprises both of you. Deep down he was desperate to savor every shared moment with you. When you and Peter end up outside the kitchen doors, you’re a little confused. You can see light seeping out from the door frame and softly you can hear the song I Will by The Beatles playing. Slowly he opens the door to the room, lit up by fairy lights and a speaker playing the music. The window is open so there is a slight chill, but you don’t feel cold yourself. If anything, you feel utter love for him.
He bites his lip softly and looks down at his sliver shoes, griping your hand harder. “It’s not much I know, but will you dance with me?” His cheeks are burning and he’s moving forwards to face you.
“Of course, I will.” You make eye contact, and your own cheeks heat up. Grabbing your waist while you wrap your arms around his neck, you start to sway to the music. “I love this song; it reminds me of you.” You let your head rest on his chest while you move slowly in his arms as the music plays.
After a few songs pass Here, There and Everywhere comes on. “This is our song.” It’s one of the first things he’s said during the slow dance. “It’s the song that made me realize how much you mean to me.” You move your gaze towards him and he’s looking right back. Closing your eyes, you lean towards him and kiss him. He instantly kisses you back. It’s a soft gentle kiss, speaking a million words and showing all the ways you love Peter, and he shows you right back.
Pulling a part, you whisper softly, “I love you.”
“I love you more.”
You hated that you were making him wait. You were just trying to figure out the words you had only dreamed for him to say. The secret thoughts you would muse over as you had laid next to think. The daydreaming of him and how you have fallen for him utterly and completely. Never did you think he could care for you the way you did for him. It had frozen you and your heart. ‘KISS HIM’ your brain had screamed, and you figured actions would have to be better than words.
You kissed his hand that you were holding and looked into his eyes. He gasped; his lungs desperate to get air while he tried to process the feeling of your lips on his hand. “Can I kiss you...?” He barley manages to squeak out before you lean forward, trying to tell him how much he meant in the kiss.
He pulled away first and before he could ask, “Peter, I love you. I love you so much and I have loved you. Since the first time you untied my shoelaces. I knew there was something special about you.” You had laughed softly remembering the fond memory. Before you had even noticed Peter had wiped fallen tears from your eyes. He grinned from ear to ear.
