OH. okay so normally i dont touch discourse with a 20 ft pole, but this has been niggling at my brain tonight and i finally realized why

the people who are mad at qbbh for the memory loss and “dodging consequences” dont understand that he doesnt want to dodge consequences. Like they cant know that, they werent focused on him when he was literally feeding himself to the soul vultures and planning his eventual imprisonment and also. The Many Many Many hints he made towards suicide/sacrifice/Just Fucking Dying.

ccbbh is a subtle roleplayer, he’s been building this shit up for two whole months- it was day FIVE of the eggs going missing that he resolved to do whatever it took (hurting his friends) to get the eggs back. It was day three that he followed in dapper’s footsteps and started feeding himself to the soul vultures (and gaining a Massive headwound beneath his hood in the process- you can only see it if you go on namemc and remove the layers). He’s got impaired judgement. Even the memory issues arent a new thing- i cant remember exactly when they started, but one of the first big moments i remmeber was september 30th where he spent an hour falling into a delusional frenzy searching his base for cameras that he forgot he asked aypierre to plant.

The super murder of purgatory and the memory loss afterwards probably all feels very sudden for people who havent been following his story, but as someone who has been- all of this has been true to character. The only cheap swings he’s made have been combat-based in purgatory, and even the motive for those was built up in rp.

People are calling for consequences, but he has alrwady been experiencing self-inflicted consequences for months. The blue on his usual outfit is blood. This recent memory loss isnt a restart to get away with the atrocities - it is yet another consequence of his egg-protecting complexes and the ways he punishes himself for failing them.

he is NOT a moral character. he’s a demon hiding in plain site. he has eaten people. he has killed people. he understands the cruelty of his actions, and the consequences of them for the loved ones of his victims. but it matters when that harm is being done to his loved ones. he’ll still do it, because he will do anything for the eggs, but it matters, and that means that he has already started the process of self-inflicting those much-demanded consequences

i check out and read a lot of these books for free via my local library by using the libby app (you can even add your friends' library cards to gain access to libraries in places you don't live). when i'm feeling like reading via audiobook, i use libro fm!

look, no one HAS TO read diversely. no one is going to be reverse fahrenheit 451'd and locked in a room with no fanfic and only books and not let out until they work their way through the entire literary canon. but reading, and reading widely, and reading diversely, is what teaches people to form their own opinions and question the things they are told. it's why they hang up stuff like "READ READ READ!!" in grade school classrooms.

we live under systems that increasingly benefit from going unquestioned. no, of course reading ASSASSIN'S APPRENTICE by robin hobb is not going to dismantle these systems tomorrow, nor probably even in our lifetimes. but doing it will help set up a world capable of doing it in the future. and until further notice, we are all part of this wretched world. might as well read a good story while we're here.

expanding on my previous post actually every single oiar employee (including lena) is autistic they all just have different and clashing presentations. that "weird interview" celia and sam were discussing in episode 6? yeah that was just lena attempting to give a poorly-disguised diagnostic test.

What drinks i think the Ninja would get when they go out to the bar:

Nya- Vodka Cranberry. timeless, easy, always tastes good. Never nasty beer.

Kai- Rum and Coke. Same as Nya, and there's no surprises with it. Not much variation between bartenders. he also isn't shy about ordering a bottle of blue moon when the mood strikes

Jay- Stella Artois. He thinks the name sounds fancy. he has an interesting taste for beers because he used to sneak his dads awful coors lights so he doesnt mind beers that have a more offensive taste

Zane- Water. Alcohol doesn't do anything for a robot. Someone once bought him a Sidecar in an attempt to flirt and he liked it well enough, though

Cole- The evilist most bitter locally brewed dark IPA you can imagine. He's tried so many beers to the point he likes the more outlandish drinks. He dogs on Jay for ordering Stella every time they go out together

Lloyd- Fuzzy navel, amaretto sour, pina colatta... he walks up to the bar and asks for the sweetest cocktail the bartender can think of, basically.

Pixal- Water, same as Zane. She only comes to play pool

Okay, so just got home after seeing Anyone But You. My honest take.

I went into the movie expecting it to be HORRENDOUS, but I can admit when I’m wrong. It was actually a pretty solid movie overall. The side characters were so fucking funny (GaTa you have my whole ass heart) and they held their own against each other.

Sydney Sweeney can’t act. I’m sorry, she can’t. That was the consensus coming out of the theater from people who didn’t even know the drama. Her lines fell flat and half the time I couldn’t figure out what she was trying to convey. The other half she was making this face: :3

I genuinely believe that if this movie had had a better female lead, it would have been a smash hit. Sydney just fell flat. I will give her this, I haven’t seen her in anything else (I’m not watching Euphoria, you can’t make me dammit), but not everyone can do comedy. Comedy acting is super hard, and she’s one of the ones that can’t do it, and that’s okay. Maybe she’s better in other things, idk?

Glen was pretty good, but we know he can do comedy, so that’s not really a surprise. I think he fell a little flat in this movie, but most of acting is reacting, and most of his scenes were with Sydney….so.

Anyway, I would say go see it. Not for Sydney or Glen, but for the phenomenal supporting cast. They were the ones that had me laughing out loud most of the time. Glen had his moments, but I’m not lying when I say GaTa and Bryan Brown were the true stars of the movie imo

I am very mentally disabled and decently physically disabled. I am very obviously disabled in both ways. If someone watched me for more than 5 seconds they would know (if I’m not using mobility aids). Thought I’d point out my ‘qualifications.’

He is correct. Plainly put, people with mental disabilities that do not affect mobility or abilities do not get to say that ‘their issues matter too’ when it comes to accessibility.

The difference between the two types of accessibility is that one can be provided yourself.

If I cannot get up the stairs, I cannot just pull a ramp or elevator or step out of nowhere. If I start to pass out, I cannot just unload a chair to sit on. I cannot magically fix my disabilities to do something that is inaccessible to me.

If I am having a bad sensory day, I can bring headphones or my own food or stim toys or whatever I need. If I am having a panic attack, I am able to remove myself from the situation. If I randomly switch out, I am able to adapt or, again, remove myself from the situation.

I am mentally able to go to parades and parties and things that trigger any one of my mental disabilities. Because I know I can a) accommodate myself or b) leave. And I still get the experience. I am not able to go to parades and parties and things that trigger my physical disabilities, even on good days where a mobility aid is not needed. I cannot accommodate a hike, or stairs, or a ramp that’s too steep. And I do not have the option to.

There are ways you can prevent and deal with things from mental disabilities. There are none for us physically disabled people.

That is the difference.

IMPORTANT

Hello everyone, I know this isn't my usual post, but I am in desperate need of help.

My siblings and I are all autistic. One of my younger sisters really struggles with emotional dysregulation, to the point that she has hurt herself and others while having meltdowns. In order to deal with this, my mom(neurotypical) has gotten involved with Autism Speaks, and their ABA therapy.

I am extremely worried for my younger sister, and I want to protect her. My mom is 100% convinced that she is doing the right thing, and that God told her this is the only path to take.

If any of you have resources that detail the harm that Autism Speaks causes, please send them to me. If you have resources for better therapy options, anything at all, please send them to me. I'm trying to build a case to advocate for my younger siblings, so they can be protected from this abuse. I'm going to present this case to my parents, to try and convince them to change, and to abandon Autism Speaks. Please, I really need the help, and my siblings really need the help.

I don’t think we give Scary enough credit for what she knows about herself.

Because, teens know when they are in the wrong, they know when they’ve changed their mind, they know when they are loosing the argument. The thing is, you can’t just go back. You can’t back down you can’t just tell the other person they win.

Scary hasn’t hated Terry for a long time and she knows it. She’s known that he’s nice, she’s known that her mum loves him, she knows that he could be a perfectly good father. But by that point, she’s already become goth, already proclaimed her hatred for the world, already said that she doesn’t want him there. And she can’t just say she was wrong? That would be wildly embarrassing. So she eases herself into it, she has plenty of time, she slowly lets down her guard bit by bit, becoming for comfortable. She won’t have to say anything.

But then, out of no where, he dies. And of course, when you’re a teenager, you’re immortal. No one can die when you’re a teenager. This ruins her plans, and without any bit of warning she is forced to outwardly confront every emotion she’s been keeping to herself about him. And boy is it confronting.

ida emean is the most mysterious witcher character to me. like she literally just showed up from the blue mountains (i thought the elves were starving up there last time we checked) (also last time we checked the elves which lived in the blue mountains wanted nothing to do with humans ever and that’s why they live in said mountains) (like filavandrel whom sapkowski said intentionally never showed up again after time of contempt because he was an old and wise elf that could not be fooled and was not persuaded by the nilfgaardianian bequeathing of land)

and she just shows up as francesca findabair’s plus one to the who run the world girls meeting. you know. which contains humans. and then her only thing is that she’s an elf. she showed up. and oh yeah she fucking slayed that shit so hard not wearing any stones or metals at all in her jewelry in a daffodil dress. and her red hair. of course. but her dialogue is basically just: “yep confirming that’s magic” and “you are being a bit racist don’tcha think”

but the thing that REALLY makes me throw my hands up here is that she’s an AEN SAEVHERNE ?? literally a title we know best from it also belonging to LARA DORREN and AVALLAC’H?? but she was just hanging out with francesca in dol blathanna like going over to her friend’s for tea, when it is said even among the elves it’s rare to known an aen saevherne. so what relationship do they have that… ? dunno.

and but of course, because she is an elf, she is aloof, taciturn, and inscrutable as all hell and so we learn practically nothing about her.
